top 50 for gamer score in Australia hey hey and what is that score that's score would be at the moment it is 245,000 34 not bad so I are you number 49 or are you higher I'm 50 all right okay like I'm just cck 50 and I've got it by the person behind me they that's still going to be a bit of a battle for a while I think but the person in front of me there're like 5,000 away so I've got a while wow so you still on your 70-day achievement kick oh yeah yes um I'm up to 91 days now oh wow impressive W an achievement every day every day for the last 91 days I'm like that too but with orgasms you're like that guy we talked
about that time yeah who uh just couldn't stop yeah I can stop I have to control mine but uh I just don't want I just don't want to why would I well that's great Luke uh it's good that you've achieved that um do you get anything uh other than the respect yeah I mean obviously the listeners are all in awe but um every now and again Microsoft give me a free game oh really that's all right well I mean they give they give me one every month as well that's cuz I pay them well it's not free if you pay them but I got things like limbo and you got limbo get beta keys every now and again yeah I got limbo 3 on the Xbox One well they just sent it to you yeah okay like oh Luke yeah yeah here's some free stuff yeah cheers oh fair enough they probably listen to the show I think so yeah well
they're going to know that you you never bothered to review limbo so they probably won't bother sending you anymore good point love limbo though it's one of my favorite games yeah it's amazing yeah we've got it on Xbox one as well actually I don't know how we got it I've got I've got on 360 and one yeah same I've got it on on Mac oh yeah yeah ew that's that's that's a great game but we should probably discuss something a bit more relevant relevant something that's probably how old limbo now oh four years at least a couple of years now yeah H yeah uh geez I don't know I'd say 2011 yeah yeah sounds about right yeah yeah it's pretty old [ __ ] beautiful
that and braid came out the same year and I was like [ __ ] indie games I'm playing through an indie game on the Xbox One at the moment called life is strange which is this really bizarre I love that game yeah and it's basically like it's like if you crossed braid with Juno okay yeah you like a high school girl and she's angsty but she can also turn back time to change stuff she does oh but it's very atmospheric it's quite beautiful yeah the music in that game is amazing there are times where you can actually sort of hit the button to go off and do something but I'll just sit there and listen to the music for a few minutes before I even wor about playing the game interesting well I'll have to check it out now definely it's a
it's happening a lot now all these episodic game so this is another one of them so this is five parts um another one just came out king's quest mhm yeah wow I mean pretty familiar with king's quest this is just a [Laughter] [Music] the first time you play it have no way of knowing any of this and it it's entirely feasible that you will do something that will make it impossible to finish the game it's true and a couple years ago I went back to play all the king's quest from the start play through one played through two once
it got to that [ __ ] Wizard's Apprentice one it's like [ __ ] this [ __ ] I'm skipping you you you need a walk through games were not forgiving even if you have a walk through you can still get [ __ ] in it yeah so I used to play um this text Adventure called Arthur the Quest for Excalibur did you guys ever come across I know it I know it wonderful wonderful story based game it was like a textas adventure but Illustrated and I had it on the Amiga but I started playing through that about a year ago just for fun and on dosbox and yeah uh there's this one part where I went into this little room and you can kind of shape shift into different animals I shape shifted into this one animal uh right and then all my stuff
dropped onto the floor um and then so I shifted back into a human to pick it up and I did uh and then when I tried to grab my stuff it was like you can't see it's dark and uh shape shifted back to the animal that can see in the dark and it's like well you can't pick up you got no hands and I'm like I've just [ __ ] this haven't I like old games are like well guess you can't play anymore sorry buddy yeah well that was why like a lot of people didn't actually finish games back yeah probably very true and why I had games like police Quest and king's quest for years before I'd finished them yeah of course you know you just get stuck there was no such thing as a walkr and You' just be stuck until one day you put it on again and just fluked something that got you
further police Quest is a great example the very first police Quest right you can get all the way to the end of the game and and if you forget to take the radio with you yeah that's right and then you've got doesn't matter if you save the game after that cuz you reloaded all you want you better have a save from before you have to pick up the you do everything unless you [ __ ] get to the hotel play through all those hands of cards you've got to play with those dudes before they start trusting you and if you didn't bring the radio with you you're [ __ ] you've got no evidence and you can go on home yeah that was brutal but it's also the game where if you pull over the for speeding and let her off because she flirts with you then
like hours and hours later in the game um oh yeah somebody finds that out as well it doesn't [ __ ] you straight away it's just like no no no it'll let you keep playing thinking you're making a lot of progress and then but you've already actually lost well that's not fair because police can choose not to give a ticket that game has some stuff though where I I don't know if that's an example of it but it had weird like a copy protection like that for example if you uh you know if you go to get in the car at the start and drive off without doing a walk around with the vehicle yeah your wheels come off and you die y like and and cuz it's in the man it's in the um the manual that comes with the game the guide yeah so I you re copy protection that's a good I wonder if if
there's some stuff like that yeah like with that woman like probably says somewhere in the G I know the one you mean yeah yeah who reads instruction you had to back yeah back then I used to have a ritual anytime I got a new game I would bring it home I would put it in without reading it first as soon as I got home just put it in play just see what it was like and then that night I take the manual to bed and then just read all the way through it so that the next time I it was fun reading manuals back then like you get it they were chunky and there was backstory and yeah it was interesting yeah now if you want to actually read a manual they give you the link to it online and you can go read the PDF and who's going to do that yeah yeah and it just tells you what
buttons do what yeah but you'll usually get an onscreen tutorial anyway so oh yeah they hold your hand through the whole game now yeah I'm so sick of tutorials we don't need them anymore I think unless you're changing some major part yeah but do you really need a manual for COD uh a tutorial they still have tutorial about Crouch here and everything on the first level well yeah but they've got to assume You' never played any yeah exactly or they wouldn't sell copies to new audiences yeah oh they sell enough copies of cod I'm sure yeah there's no such thing as enough in a free market all right well uh some gaming news uh Razer the the company that makes all the fancy keyboards and mice and
then now gaming laptops and and whatnot uh has acquired OUYA the Android console that was kickstarted and has largely been a failure uh in to the point where there are still people who backed it on Kickstarter who have not received their console um and uh Razer has now bought it and said oh they might be able to work something out um because not only that there are a number of developers who are owed money by the company so uh Indie developers um created games for the Ouya and I guess we're given excl exclusivity deals or or you know the money goes through the Uya store or whatever and they've been paid
um the first installment um or oh this okay this one here says they paid the first installment when we submitted our beta um so I guess Ouya was supposed to be funding the development um but anyway basically they've just said oh well that company doesn't really exist anymore so that's that done so I guess they do exist CU they acquired the company well uh I don't really know how that works but I think it's just now Razer isn't it I mean if if Razer buys the company they just absorb it into themselves yeah but you absorb all the debt and bills and well I mean like I'm not a businessman but I've I mean there's already been cases of this in the past where that's been an issue isn't it where companies have said oh well I mean we bought the company but we
didn't buy their debt well that's also works in the opposite way I mean that's why that woman who is suing uh over the rights to gravity has lost her case that's right that's that's the one I was thinking of because she got her script bought by new line new line got bought out by Warner Brothers Warner Brothers made gravity and she went that was my script that I sold to newon and they went yeah we don't know anything about that yeah new line doesn't exist anymore think is crap it is crap well it's it's not fair it's not in the Spirit of what it's all done about no but it's business so well I don't like business unless they give me stuff then I love you well lucky for you we're a terrible business that's right so yes

presented with that because I'm just not even going to wait for the thinking music do you know what I mean like yeah in the tech industry the answer is sell generally speaking you will be worth nothing very very soon there's there's Facebook and then there's everybody else that was trying to build a competitor yeah to to Myspace uh and yeah the answer is sell it yeah well you hear about those ones that sort of Turn Down selling for a billion dollars and then they sell for like $5 million a year later yeah I mean look it it does happen and it's a risk it's like you know it's one of those things we we we will sell yeah you want us we're yours yeah yeah well did I tell you guys about my friend who sold his Instagram account

me laugh and did you watch the video no I didn't video is pretty funny cuz they're blaming it on a technical mistake basically what happens is uh so people have been arrested for this and they're being questioned um the Serbian Lottery which is apparently very popular in that country um it's a state R like it's yeah it's the state run lottery so this is not you know this is this is a big deal um what happened was uh the you know like the balls get picked out of the thing and then they displayed on the screen and it displayed two balls in the wrong order which meant that the second ball hadn't even been picked yet so the number 27 comes out of the machine and the number 21 appears on the screen and then the number uh the ball 21 is pulled out of the machine and it
says 27 and then all of a sudden the numbers kind of go H and they all change to 27 and then it like Fades out oh wow so B it's very suspicious and they they're saying oh it was a coincidence uh technical mistake oh yeah technical mistake also prophetic it's it's pretty suspicious but no one won no nobody won no no yeah that's because the guy who did have the winning ticket couldn't cash it it would give him away that guy is dead now but yeah the prime Min the Prime Minister said anyone involved in criminal activity would be brought to Justice the path to prison is very short he said I think he just means in general in Serbia so I don't do do you think it do you think it was rigged or do you think it was just a coincidence it's pretty
suspicious I think the fact that something like that suspicious happened and then nobody won proves that it was rigged like I don't I I don't speak the language so I can't I can't tell what the presenter is saying she she is speaking over it and then like I don't know what I don't know but if you I watched the video how would you rig those those balls or spinning like crazy how would you be able to read which one who know well how do you know uh Darren Brown did it once yeah he did live on telion maybe the balls are spinning around in the thing but the the thing that comes up actually already has the ball in it like out out beneath the machine and it just Rises up through them like I don't know that's there you go there's a guess that's that's one way

podcast and I'm not entirely sure what the crime here is but this was the most hilarious news headline that I read this week knife wielding nude dude playing ban subdued by police after 2 hour standoff yeah so that's pretty cool I mean you know this is in this is in Canada yeah this is in Vancouver and this guy was seen by a neighbor who called the police because he was naked and carrying a knife the police came to his house and these are like I'm looking at the picture here these are like the cops in the the bulletproof vests and the helmets of those kind of tactical units um he saw the cops ran back inside ran out with a banjo and began to play
them songs for 2 hours before they gunned him down with rubber bullets at least say heuse rubber bullets yeah was he drunk or was he just a crazy person I've got no uh got no answer to that no it doesn't have in the story it's just well that's pretty amazing so really he's probably just cuz he wasn't really doing anything that wrong well I mean I think when he came out with the banjo he put pants on by that time which or shorts which is I guess sort of saying I'm not doing anything wrong now but he is taking the piss but you can be on your own property in the nude with a knife right I mean it's weird sure but are you break the front I think is the you're out the front so it's I think so
within view of the street I guess I me if someone can see you yeah we've got I mean Luke's an expert on being naked at home true obviously he's he's probably naked right now like I am naked right now but I have the windows pulled over yeah but even if they were open you're still in your own home and in austral I could still get in trouble for that is that right well walking around in front of the windows in the N if I yeah if I was if my windows were open and there were people walking out the front who could see directly in and school children things who could see in i w wo wo wo did you speically mention school children well the reason why I say school children is it's more likely that people are we going to get trouble no we are not what I'm saying is
it's more likely that someone will call the police on someone who's naked if there are children around oh well of course if it was just me walking down the street and I turned and saw someone naked in their house I would laugh yeah for me it's like oh there's a naked person any kids with him no it's fine oh [ __ ] there's a kid call the police like if if someone's walking down the street Luke's there in the window naked waving a teddy bear at some children you know that's going to be a problem no you're probably right I I agree if I was walking down the street and I saw someone naked in the window I would just laugh yeah yeah well I used to live opposite a hotel and uh you'd see naked people all the time constantly constantly while I
was like washing my dishes and staring out the window I I will admit when I'm staying in a hotel I'm bit more free with not closing the blinds walking around on the yeah part of the experience yeah who's going to know who I am well you forget Luke you're a celebrity that's right can't wait for that day someone ask for an autograph while you're naked on your balcony yeah just ejaculated into them and say there's your [Music] autograph Jesus is that what Mark Hamill does yeah he does something similar have you guys had a look at these Mar is out there ruining your Star Wars cards with fantastic autographs they're pretty funny I like them yeah I wouldn't be upset if he did this tomorrow not at all so somebody on um imager has put together a collection
of Mark HL autographed cards and um they have things like well now I get to go to tshi station whenever I want yeah or this Vader guy's a loser hope he doesn't have kids I think my favorite is probably this it's Luke standing next to the moisture vaporator and Hamill's written world's largest bong for sale call Luke 555 weed and that's what he does when people ask him for an autograph see the reason I like this so much is that I had heard that he wasn't a very funny guy and that he he's very serious he doesn't like kind of he doesn't like toilet humor basically and I know this isn't toilet humor as such but it is it kind of shows that I mean clearly he does have a sense
of humor I think this is pretty funny yeah and some of these are not like that particularly that that world's largest bong is not something that based on what I'd heard I'd expect Mark Hill to write totally on a card yeah that's right so you thought he didn't have a sense of humor because he's done work with like Kevin Smith and things so I thought that he would have you know you're probably right I just read that uh he he did an episode of Robot Chicken um and he said that he really doesn't like their humor the toilet I I'll be honest though [ __ ] hate Robot Chicken you know what maybe I'm just not hate them so the fact that he doesn't like them doesn't show me he doesn't have a sense of humor shows me that possibly he's intelligent and
witty yeah probably true but yeah these are great I like them there's one further down in the if you look in the comments underneath the article um where if you scroll down where he's looking at George Lucas yeah and it says yes George but just try acting to these [Laughter] scripts but I love the print on this card George Lucas directs his counterpart loot like how is Luke his counterpart yeah right yeah I thought Parkins was his counterpart oh Parkins why would you call the fat guy Parkins I remember I read this big long uh internet Theory by this guy who said that Parkins was um Lucas's way of manifesting his own hatred for himself because he was fat but he wasn't fat he was totally skinny when he made the
first and so this article while very amusing uh was kind of ridiculous and pointless because at the time he made the first film he was not fat so no so there you go debunked instantly um another article that I found funny uh I don't know if you guys took the time to read it was this Batman versus Superman article look I I saw a little bit of it but this is a very long article no but I read it on the train the other day and it made me laugh and unun I didn't realize this was a Gawker site uh when I posted it so I apologize for that I don't like linking to Gawker sites even though we linked to I9 as well but um this is an article written by Alberto ni who who is a I guess a Superman fan uh the but the comic Superman and the article is basically
about uh in an amusing way um all the Hoops they have to jump through to make uh Batman fighting Superman um a possible and B to make it so that you're rooting for Batman because both of those are ridiculous premises yeah cuz you can't root for Superman because you can't be like well just Crush that dude yeah fine like we've seen you do in any way you look at it Superman is the better man unless they do something like and he points out as well people he said people go on about how Frank Miller was a genius but he was actually a [ __ ] Maniac because in his uh was it the Dark Knight Returns when Batman fights Superman he had to make Superman into the biggest villain in in in weird Ridiculous Ways and also weaken him with like crypto
night and and some he had to resolve some nuclear issue so that he's very weak just in order to make it so that Batman can even feasibly confront him without without being stupid just getting a fist like right through his face yeah and yeah and in no world is Batman like Batman sounds cool but when you think about it he's not he's a psycho yeah like Batman is a psychopath like and even giving him the the benefit of the doubt with his parents having been murdered he's still a psychopath yeah a lot of people's parents get murdered and they don't kind of dress up and hang out at night on the streets and right and what he his point is that this man is so rich that he doesn't have to work he's
just got infinite money and the best thing he can come up with to try and solve the problems of Gotham City is to research military weapons so that he can dress up in a silly costume and Bash [ __ ] out of people Rob convenience stores so true yeah so it's it's a very funny article I liked it it amused me and uh yeah it was just about how um about he raised an interesting point actually and I I kind of disagree with him in a way um you do have to make Superman a bad guy a very very bad guy in order to make Batman the better man sure I agree with that um but he talks about how the Superman in this is silly but I it makes it made me wonder does you people said a Superman in Man of Steel didn't care about people and and you know he was destroyed the whole city
and all that kind of stuff and it turns out now that's what this Batman vers Superman film is about the fact that Batman's like [ __ ] you dude and so it made me think you know like cuz I I I said oh Zach sh have [ __ ] that up like that's just not Superman but it makes me wonder maybe he did do it on purpose because that's the only way they could make this Batman vers Superman film not rid yeah I suppose that's true if if in the first one it'd be the kind of Richard Donna kind of Superman then by the time he comes to fight Batman you're just like well Batman [ __ ] back off yeah jealous Batman what the [ __ ] exactly yeah so I don't know that made me think along those lines maybe yeah maybe there was method to the to the the only thing that I think takes the wind
out of the sales of this guy and and this is probably one of the reasons I stopped reading it was that he admits in the first paragraph that he hasn't actually seen any of these films and not that I can really fault the guy for that because we do a lot of reviews on this podcast without having seen the films but you can't really write a detailed analysis that critics critiques something if if if you haven't seen it no I agree not that he's wrong no no I mean yeah I just thought it was it was a funny funny uh kind of tear down of the whole whole thing I mean because I mean you could do this with any superhero the superheroes are just silly but um yeah it's just funny like obviously Batman's ridiculous they're
all ridiculous like yeah but uh last night I did eat at a superhero themed restaurant which was ridiculously awesome was it I saw a lot of photos yeah I saw a lot of Iron Man stuff is it funny thing was it was completely uh void of of of any continuity right and they were mixing uh superhero genres they were mixing superhero um licensing you know there was Marvel stuff and stuff there was movie and comic book um there was just absolutely but the the ceiling was covered in guns like it was it was just just cool stuff like that you know yeah right yeah I had Red Skull cocktail and it came in a skull so that was pretty oh I saw that yeah that was
great yeah well I mean look maybe they got a bit lost in the theme but whatever it looked pretty cool and I wanted to take a lot more pictures than I did but the thing was that I thought was funny is that from the outside it's just called the hero cafe or something like that no mention of any kind of licensed characters and there's nothing on the outside of the building that would suggest they're in breach of copyright in any way and then you walk into this veritable cornicopia of of stolen merchandise maybe that's why they're not advertising it outside yeah are you allowed to do that though like if I own a cafe and I've I mean cuz I've got a lot of I got a lot of [ __ ] in my house about you know like for example looking looking at my desk now I've got a clap

whatever uh did you see he did an AMA a while ago and um apparently he gets called all sorts of variations on his name all the time so we're not apparently we're not the only ones to um screw that up my favorite of those was when um uh Matt Damon said that he can't go anywhere without people going oh hello Mr Affleck that's awesome you know I think he would have been a better choice to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine mhm than he would be as G yeah yeah maybe that's what I mean he's quite he's kind of a he's a Big Bly guy he's not yeah but everyone in movies is a Big Bly guy now you can't you can't have a weenie guy in movies it just doesn't happen well go back to my rant about Kyle ree being bigger than
the Terminator he's he's pictured here next to Ryan Reynolds who's kind of a a weedy guy in a in a way he's like obviously he's built um because he's he works out a lot for the films um but he's not he's not as big as Channing is Chum tat CH Chum Tatum tring tating um Tang yeah I don't know ch ch yeah I don't know seems like a strange pick also is he going to do the accent I mean it's just I don't know no but I he was all he was all right in no but that's right but that film was so bad you have to do the accent it's not going to work without the accent unless they just change the character's backstory [ __ ] off then if you don't if you're changing his backstory pick another character to
do no why they change it that much now is Rogue yeah I was about to say the whole thing about gamber is he's French and he's in love with Rogue like if you change either of those two things it's not gamb well I mean is Anna pin still making these films oh I hope like I mean replace her as well although you know what though they did do um who's in Apocalypse the new X-Men because if you recall at the end of uh bloody uh actually you know what no no no hang on a minute hang on a minute no because this is a fox film and oh no they own X-Men what am I talking about mind no they they they've got the anacin one yeah so at the end of uh what was the last one the one where they go back in time um oh yeah of Future Past Days
of Future Past they rebooted everything sorry spoil spoilers like even [ __ ] Cyclops and everybody's back like they basically just said oh sorry we [ __ ] all that up everyone's back just forget about forget that happened yeah so presumably they're hoping to get them all back so yeah I mean guess I want Rogue to be real Rogue not that weasly little thing I I can't stand an weasly little thing you mean Anna pacquin yep I'm With You Luke I'm absolutely with you is this another girl that you don't like no no no no I want I just want the real Rogue yeah I know that tough Rogue from the Animated Series that's the rogo absolutely and the Gambit from the Animated Series too for that matter yeah as as pictured in the um the the top picture in this article where
he's got the card and he's looking all cool and he's got that I mean admittedly strange mask thing yeah but they all did whatever they've all got weird stuff like that I mean if you've got powers there's literally no reason to wear a costume yeah true like Batman has to wear a costume cuz he has no powers the powers are that costume yeah oh unless you're Spider-Man you got to protect your family and all that jazz that's his deal just be better at not to protect him it's not to protect him it's to protect his family anyway yeah so uh chenning Tatum is Gambit and uh we'll see how that goes uh or we won't I don't know pretty bored of movies I probably will though I probably will I me I haven't
seen Ant-Man yet no Nei of our no I wanted to see a man I've heard it's very good I've heard good things about it and to be honest there's not been a nextmen movie I haven't G and scene so I don't know why I'm acting like I'm not going to go and see this one yeah yeah I mean Days of Future Past I it was all right um wasn't my favorite of them but it was all right yeah um this Deadpool movie comes out later this year right yeah there's a trailer launching for that next week I believe yeah I'm trying to avoid all that because um [ __ ] people's expectations for this are way out of proportion like people calm down like it's probably not going to be as good as you're thinking it's going to be it's a Hollywood film just maintain those expectations a it because
everyone's losing their [ __ ] over it yeah I mean maybe it'll be great but I'm I'm reserving judgment so who plays Deadpool uh Ryan Reynolds yeah there you go don't hold your breath people it's a last chance of playing a superhero right know he's got to stop him and [ __ ] Chris Evans Chris Evans you're Captain America now that's it you get no more yeah what Ry Reynolds has done three or two he's he was green Lan and he was um he was Deadpool in one of the Wolverine films but it was a [ __ ] Deadpool it wasn't ah it was a shitty version of Deadpool and so this one is not even related to that film as far as I can tell it can't be because they [ __ ] up his whole backstory so never I
never got the Ryan Reynolds thing he's not a bad actor I'm not going to say that but I've never said to myself I'm going to go see a Ryan Reynolds film oh he was in Blade yeah he was in Blade three the [ __ ] blade so bad that's the worst I I I kind of want to watch it again just because maybe I've forgotten how bad it was if you've forgotten anything God bless you that movie just made no sense to me at the time may you live a long and happy life remembering very little of Blade 3 uh so you have been playing alien isolation is that true yeah I have and it's funny because I wanted to bring it up in last week's show and forgot or we ran out of time and I'm glad I didn't because it would have been a very
different review from today uh cuz I I would have said last week that it's a bit boring and it's kind of not all that fun and I was a bit disappointed with it but I played it again this weekend and I must say when when it gets really tense when [ __ ] gets [ __ ] tense in this game like yeah it's quite visceral you know I'm [ __ ] hiding under a desk and there's this alien who knows I'm in the [ __ ] room and it's like walking around sniffing me out and I'm like in real life just [ __ ] perspiring like not bad not bad what are you are you what are you playing this on on the Xbox one yeah okay cool yeah uh I mean it look doesn't look that good you know it could have been a 360 game
easy and uh you know it doesn't really doesn't P it looks like alien I'll give it that like the environments it's really well done in that from that point of view yeah I mean look a little bit boring in in the sense that you're just on one ship so it's basically corridors and airshafts yeah I mean me I already I already said I already said I I kept I just thinking about Witcher when I was playing it I want to give it another chance um just because I need to sit down and play I got up to the part basically I saw the alien and that was it and then I stopped playing the game cuz you got too scared no no I just moved on to other things and I want to sit there I saw the alien uh then I just moved on to other things uh changed my
Underpants and he wasn't wearing underpants yeah I want to give this the time that I think it deserves and actually sit down and like play over a few hours over one night yeah not just I can't ever imagine myself playing this again but I am going to finish it you know what I mean okay and only played at night atmospheric games like this wasted during the daytime wasted I give another shot I don't I have it on PC and I don't have a PC anymore because it died so um it's unlikely I'll be playing this for a long time so I can't even lean it to I can't be bothered buying another PC oh that reminds me I need to get rise back off you oh okay sure they've new achievements for it well if you if someone wants to lend me the the uh Xbox One version I'm happy to play it I'll
only have the digital okay cool thanks it's probably really cheap I should just buy it but oh yeah I only paid 50 bucks for it oh okay yeah I also bought I bought Shadows of Mordor in the uh sale the other week too I got to get answer to that just [ __ ] Witcher three man never the game never ends I don't know what to do it's it's just it doesn't end so uh I played some more today I got to say actually I I have one negative thing to say about The Witcher 3 yeah okay and that is it's too good it is too good but no um if you do die in the game you have to you might as well go make yourself a cup of tea while the game loads ah right again because the load times in general are pretty
pretty heavy um but for some reason if you die and you say load from last save game it must [ __ ] unload everything from memory and then load it all back in I don't know what's going on because it it it honestly is like 2 or 3 minutes sometimes is it just when you die and you reload not just when you change levels or whatever um it's it seems to be not as bad when you're changing levels and stuff so maybe they've optimized it for that kind of stuff and and to be fair I mean it's not as bad as Witcher 2 where I'm D I'm going to fix this for you what's that don't die well I said it's not as bad as Witcher 2 where you do die very frequently but but it is it's an open world and if you wander off somewhere you're not supposed to like will get
your ass kicked and it can be very frustrating to have to you know wait for like I said 2 3 minutes sometimes to load I mean it doesn't sound like that much but when I'm when I want to play the game and I got to sit there looking at Lo minutes waiting for a load that's a lifetime yeah it's quite long so I mean that's my only complaint with it is that yeah the load times are you playing that on in that instance yeah yeah I have a question about Xbox one when I put games in for the first time it doesn't give me the option to not install them do you always have to you have to install have to install yeah you have to yeah because they're on um Blu-ray discs so I think uh it's just the data seek and read and that jazz is just not suitable for yeah right for it I
think like it's not able to stream everything off the disc yeah it's it's really horrible it's not like yeah it's not before when you threw an Xbox 360 disc in you waiting for a quick update now it's a I'll put this here I'll wait for it to install for 15 minutes and come back and in the case of dead Rising 3 you wait for it to download 17 GB worth of patch Jesus so yeah but yeah I've started just buying everything digital so I basically start the download at night the next day I can come play it or I even I download the game I even buy the game on my phone while I'm at work and I come home and it's already installed for me that's cool that's pretty that's cuz you leave your Xbox on 24/7
yep no it's just got the Auto on so it's always connected so it's not it's in that sort of standby mode so to still get all the updates and install everything not actually on on yeah right when it doesn't actually yeah it doesn't actually turn off Matt is Witcher three as challenging as W Witcher two um you mean like in a frustrating way yeah it witch two was quite involved you had to really be on to play it I no I don't feel like it is I feel like it's more accessible and it's more like something it's more like Red Dead Redemption than than how many ladies have you had sex with uh in the [Laughter] game uh three maybe more three
definitely off the top of my head yeah I do you want spoilers I can tell you who they are I wouldn't know who they are telling us which girls you [ __ ] are spoilers yeah look no they are actually um not a single elf so far oh that's surprising I know any any unusual no no no not disappointing there's still hope yeah yeah you just haven't met an elf the right elf yet the right elf haven't met an elf willing to sleep with geralt I haven't met them right dwarf but I will you will mark my [ __ ] words [Laughter] so did you see this article about uh the European commission saying that they're going to try and and make it so that uh all the online digital stores
everything's got to be the same price across country everything's got to be available you know across countries none of this country can have this and this country can't have that kind of crap um I'm all for that yeah I agree I don't know if it'll happen because no it'll never happen different local laws like yeah we would have to change our laws to adopt this and we had a hard enough time changing it and not only that don't forget that some countries have higher tariffs and taxes on things than other countries it's not just as simple as going the world's of Utopia where everything is available online at the same time at the same price for everyone yeah although would be great let's I mean let's notr though far too expensive online of a sh need to stop I
don't understand and I I mean I assum this is probably the same everywhere I don't understand why a a digital game costs the same as a physical one it's same as with with like ebooks and stuff like that and I realize the answer is probably because they don't want to make less money like that's probably the answer like they make it as high as they think people will pay but yeah and I mean exactly they're making more money because they didn't have to ship it to me but they also they want to maintain this illusion that that it should be the same price and and to be honest they cost fuckloads more than they used to here anyway now it's like 110 120 bucks for a new game now here I buy a game online for $99 I can walk into any other store and pick it up for $79 you can buy
it online for probably 50 or 60 MH but digitally I get screwed yeah because you pay the one price so I I just don't understand why like same with a book like if I buy an ebook versus a paperback why is it in some cases more because the paperbacks get discounted at the stores because you know they buy them in bulk and all that [ __ ] the paperbacks the the digital version is just 20 bucks yeah always always and there's no shipping there's no marketing cuz the stores do their own marketings and you see it there and then you go home buy digitally they don't have to ship it they don't have someone ringing it up at the teal like there's all this money that's being saved but we don't get to see it and to be fair to be
fair that doesn't apply to to Indies like because you can publ you can self-publish on Amazon and a lot of those are quite cheap but also it's potluck whether they're going to be any good because they don't have editors and so a lot of it is [ __ ] so I don't know yeah there's something to be said for quality control isn't there right I'd be happy to pay you know a few bucks more for somebody to say yeah there's no spelling mistakes exactly exactly but uh but on but the same token uh it's pretty cool that you can get access to stuff that might have just been a publisher would just said ah it doesn't really interest me so no yeah you can you can get stuff like that but and same indie games are different because they just charge whatever they
want it's mostly just the big Publishers that are like I don't know like I don't understand why an Xbox One game's 100 bucks digital when I cany buy it for you know yeah like you said even in a even in a legitimate Australian store I can buy it for 80 or online a gray import for 50 or 60 like come on yeah yeah there's something something wrong there and no one can seem to answer it well it's because it's probably just we're willing to pay it it's probably just I'm willing to pay it yeah yeah stop paying then the there's the there is the aspect of and like I I still haven't tested this cuz I only have one Xbox but there's that whole thing where apparently you can two people can play the game at once in the same house if
one Xbox is a slave to the other Xbox or something yeah I haven't played around with that but I going to give it a try for you yeah oh yeah you've got two please do because I'm curious because that means in theory I could buy one copy of something and then Jenner and I can both play it and I've been told at the same time online together we can play it and if that's true that's awesome and that that makes it worth it because it's you know we don't have to buy two copies of everything um but if it's not well then make him cheaper mhh [ __ ] but yes steam as well remember that time Borderland we talked about this before I'm sure they accidentally put Borderlands up on Steam at the American
price American price and everyone was like holy [ __ ] and bought it and then they're like whoops 100 bucks it was like 40 or something before that yeah terrible damn like how's our tax and terrorists and everything that much more it doesn't work it's that and it's also this anti- competitive anti- competition or whatever it is you know like price consistency crap hav we got some some stuff like that isn't that um that don't do anything I don't know and the same thing with uh Fox to gets exclusive rights to [ __ ] so we're not allowed to get it on Netflix even though the rest of the world's got it or whatever [ __ ] off but that yeah that's just that's what Netflix will not be they will be slowly taking back all of the stuff they've
licensed out and fox tail will die the death it deserves Jesus all right right I don't I don't like Fox they want to charge 50 a month to watch one thing about them oh dear well uh I watched a film this week oh um which disappointed me somewhat because uh it was I mentioned I watched Insidious 3 and I was disappointed by it yeah so I was browsing around and I saw now let me check this poster what is that say there at the top oh it's written in some other language so I can't see what it says I swear to God it says on the poster written by
James one things I would do to James [Music] one you're on a James Juan kick right now right well you know I was I was really happy with uh with Insidious one and two right and I thought oh okay this is a film by him not directed by him but written by him so maybe uh maybe this one will be worth checking out so except if you go to the IMDb page um so you're talking about demonic yeah demonic yeah yeah yeah so I'm just looking at some posters here James Juan presents from the creator of s James ju these are all very Ambiguously written aren't they yeah and I swear to God there was one that said written by James ju and I'll tell you that it's not because if you if
you look I mean maybe he has like a some obscure story credit on it because he doesn't even have the main story credit because when it finished right let me let me I'll start off by saying this film was fine it was all right you know it was it was not that great but it was all right um but he definitely didn't write it yeah uh because he he's not even listed as as uh you know screenplay by I think two people and then Story by someone else so yeah I mean there's quite a few there's quite a few people with credits on this and it's not one of him yeah writers Max LaBella story will Cannon screenplay Doug Simon screenplay Max LaBella screenplay so I don't know what was his [ __ ] role in this James one producer there you go so I don't know I was somewhat deceived maybe I deceived
myself maybe I misread it but anyway I thought I was getting a James one film and uh you know as this jingle States I'm I'm a bit of a fan of his now so Because You Loved Insidious one and two but disliked Insidious 3 you've uh you've deduced that you're actually a James Juan fan yeahh yeah because I like saw y yeah yeah and I liked uh what else has he done I'll probably like fast seven if I ever get around and watching it will you though I'm sure he he did that one I don't know I think he did that didn't he fast furious s he did yes the seventh fast in the fous movie yeah so anyway this this film is about uh did you like The
Conjuring uh I didn't actually like the conjury I did you like dead silence a movie about a killer ventriloquist doll I haven't seen it but now I'm going to is that for real that's for real it's a James ju movie what's his what did he direct it yeah he did he directed it he absolutely did yeah um dead silent and he wrote it with Lee who I believe he wrote s [Music] with okay hopefully listeners for next week I will try and watch this film that sounds great a widow returns to his hometown to search for answers to his wife's murder which may be linked to the ghost of a murdered ventriloquist it sounds amazing STS Ryan quanton Donnie Walberg
a wow and I'm sure I'd be very very surprised if um what's that Aussie actor who's in all of James Juan's movies now Ang Samson I'd be very surprised if he's not in there somewhere yeah I mean this doesn't have the best reviews and I also noticed that in the same year 2007 he also he did Death dead silence and then death sentence which that was probably somebody just misunder understanding something over the phone yeah so he directed that as well I've put you down for both those movies sorry what dead SS death sentence yeah so death sentence uh is a horror film no surprise MH Nick Hume is a mild mannered executive with a perfect life until one
gruesome night he Witnesses something that changes him forever transformed by grief hum eventually comes to the disturbing conclusion that no length is too great when protecting his [Music] family starring Kevin Bacon all right I'm gon to try and watch both of these films John Goodman's in there too I can't get wrong with John Goodman here's the thing John Goodman has kind of pretty good taste I usually trust a movie based on him being in it or Le when's in this one too all right so I'll try and watch death sentence and dead silence for uh for next week so that I can see maybe it's him as a director that I like mhm
mhm we'll see we'll definitely find out he's directing The Conjuring too interesting yeah The Conjuring was the one with uh it was supposed to be a true story and it it wasn't at all it was [ __ ] that's that was my main issue with it um yeah that's the one it's based on a true story you sure it wasn't a true story yeah I'm sure it wasn't have you seen it it wasn't no didn't happen that's because it's it started out quite Moody and and quite cool and then at some point I was like well yeah this didn't happen so see I had the opposite of this uh recently I've been working my way through the uh the early films of Peter Weir right right and um of whom I am a big fan and I realized I hadn't seen his first film Picnic at Hanging Rock which is like a classic
kind of old Aussie Thriller and I was like yeah I'm going to watch that put that on and I thought look I know and you know this movie is famous enough that I know it's about school girls that disappear right um but they'll probably disappear in the last 10 minutes of the movie uh so I don't know is this going to be kind of boring I just going to be watching a picnic for an hour and a half um well they they disappear in the first 10 minutes of the movie and the first 10 minutes are [ __ ] cool it's really creepy and tense and kind of psychedelic uh and then it's just kind of a mediocre mystery for the rest of it but I I I became very aware at certain point in there that they were not going to tell you who did it right that there was kind of going to leave it a mystery and I was
disappointed at that so the second it finished um I was on Wikipedia to find out in real life what they came up with because you know the start of the movie it's like this is a true story um you know it happened in 1900 out in ballat Victoria all this stuff yeah it's total work of fiction based on a book which is a fiction book no no ties to history in in any way I was so disappoint you're not because I mean I know the conjuring is is based on you know an alleged true story like as in people claim that this happened or or something along these lines and the people Eden Lorraine Warren the people in The Conjuring said that uh the film took some Liberties clearly cuz like I said didn't happen well that's like saying that um are you allowed to do that I guess you are yeah I guess you are I mean you
have to I mean at some point true story would actually be boring I mean if they say I well I guess based on a true story I mean it is based on a true story I guess and then but then the second half of the film it is just not cuz yeah one of the main pluck keywords on IMDb is based on a true story yeah so yeah I don't know maybe I'll rewatch it with my new Found Love of James one I'll maybe I'll rewatching movies you know you hate fine all right Dead Silence death sentence I'll try that and what is doggy Heaven a video short that he made in 2008 I'll try and find that as well 2008 eight that's not even before he was famous this is a short film about a man who died accidentally and goes to the heaven of dogs
right okay Heaven I would watch that yeah I'm going to see if I can find that as well that sounds fun he's going to watch the entire James Juan filmography the next week except fast except fast seven you too good for Fu s sorry it's not fast seven it's furious seven okay [ __ ] so are there fast movies and Furious movies or oh yeah I think I think they just swapped them out like cuz one of them was called Fast was it fast six yeah cuz here's the thing there was the first one was called The Fast and the Furious but the fifth one was just called Fast and Furious and then the sixth one was just called like fast six or something well the second one was Too Fast Too Furious it was a third one called just fast enough just furious enough too slow too keep up they're making another one
aren't they yeah it's called the very quick and the very angry of course they are they [ __ ] print money with these things I've never seen one really no never the first one I when I I saw the first one of the movies when it came out I really liked it it's directed by what's the guy's name who did he did like triple XX you know the one with Vin Diesel as well yeah I also didn't see that Rob Cohen Rob Cohen and um yeah what is he really yeah oh man everyone thought he was going to be I thought he was going to be a big deal he's going to be a big action director and then yeah can't remember what he I was he was not on my radar what else has he done lately oh he did GI Joe didn't he hang on let me see yeah didn't also didn't see that one he directed dragonart and dragon the Bruce
