up a woman went to the police to say she's been assaulted by a Pokémon and she's got the proof because on her phone she saw the Pokémon on her bed yeah what uh okay what's what's wrong with her uh do we know issues I think is what the police told her they said we won't be filing this as a charge but we do advise that you go and seek psychiatric help yeah she's a married woman her name has not been released she was playing Pokémon go fell asleep and claims that she woke up to find a huge Pokémon lying on top of her and says it was raping her she told her husband and her husband just went you're an idiot yeah W yeah so that's why she went to the police this

is kind of like that Michael Jackson thing I'm just happy I got out early before the Pokémon started a turn but here's the thing the Michael Jackson thing was clearly an afterthought A desperate attempt yeah to explain why she had become pregnant to another man once it became obvious that the black baby she had was not her husband's and she kind of fumbled around and the best excuse she could come up with at short notice was I fell asleep watching a Michael Jackson documentary and his ghost impregnated me right but I don't see what this woman trying to the Charmander and saying that he raped her well her husband is saying he does not believe her and told her to see a psychiatrist sensible but this is sadder this is sadder than the Michael Jackson

cu the Michael Jackson one it's it's really sad for that poor husband who's going along with this he can't still be going along with that well I just mean that in this one even the husband went well that's [ __ ] and she was like darling I was raped and I want you to take me seriously apparently there's a precedent for this anyway because her the Woman's friend says uh that the the woman in question complains that there are too many Pokémon at her house and that the dog can sense them and the dog barks whenever she plays Pokémon go because it can sense that there are actually Pokemon there so she thinks this is real yeah mind you my boss was telling me that she tried to play a practical joke I'm doing air quotes here uh on her

son by in the middle of the night screaming out that there was a rare Pokémon on the stairs and the sun was like Mom you can't you can't see them jokes on her but I just likeing this like she thinks that the dog can sents them the dog doesn't bark to notify that they're around it barks when she's on her phone yeah of course cuz yeah cuz she's ignoring the dog cuz it hasn't been fed yeah probably well yeah no I'm I'm maybe I should stay away from the game as well yeah don't want you or or just make sure that you're you're in a safe place and there's someone around you if you've been playing recently and you going to have that someone can keep watch someone can hold you down we've had some sad news some very sad news I don't want to talk about it

you don't want to talk about it guys no I know we joke but I genuinely bummed out when I heard this news like I got a little bit I got a little bit choked up well I had just and we'll talk about this later I literally walked came out of Suicide Squad and read that message from you guys so we can talk about how doubly depressing that was later yeah man you didn't like that brilliant piece of Cinema we'll talk about that later um but but the news the news what's the news someone else can say it I don't want to say it I can't say it out loud Luke I think has died yeah y yeah no look Kenny Baker the uh the famous actor who was inside of

R2-D2 legally for uh for what Six Star Wars films he wasn't in the little [ __ ] who jiggled him around and moved his head from side to side has finally died of [Laughter] AIDS for those who are new to the show oh you know what don't worry about it I'm not going to explaining yeah he uh he passed away just yesterday at the age of 81 I believe this might about do you know him from doing anything else apart from R2D2 he played an Ewok also inw yeah yeah I'd actually go as far as saying he's only the second most famous [ __ ] in the Star Wars Trilogy that's right yeah because I would say that uh Warick Davis is is arguably more famous than Kenny Baker even though 3PO is more famous than Wicked yeah yeah but Kenny Baker didn't get Willow and 30 years later a sitcom that's right well I guess

he uh I mean maybe he didn't go for those roles maybe he was he was happy to rest on his Laurels after his his performances happy to rest on anything at 81 because I'll say this uh 81 is old for a dwarf yeah I wondered that too actually well his family said that this was obviously not unexpected uh but still sad um yeah cuz I I I wondered about that too cuz they don't have as long a lifespan generally speaking it's like dog years I believe God midg years yeah but I don't yeah this one just hit me for some reason and I can't work out why well because he portrayed you know one of your most beloved characters I assume no not in the force awakens he didn't no no he did not awaken for that he was still in the

force awakens yeah and he was a consultant on uh who did he play in it uh he was just a bit part during in the force awakens he was see him during the race the pod race oh Force awak sorry I thought he Phantom Menace he was in wasn't he in he wasn't in he wasn't R2 in phant Menace either oh R2 was but he wasn't inside R2 did he only do Three Star Wars films is that because R2 was all CGI by that point or do they replace Kenny Baker because if that's the cas I'm legitimately angry replace him they actually just didn't have any inside him anymore oh oh cuz he was just animatronic yeah oh all right fine didn't even think of that yeah just in the first sort of three movies where they didn't really have the technology for it just throw someone in there

wiggle thanks you can go home now yeah right well and he very famously uh almost died in the Tunisian Desert inside of that costume almost cooked trash can yeah but obviously co-star Mark Hamill is more distressed than we are sure and he's come out and said that Kenny Baker was the Droid that he was looking for really know what that means but neither but I choked up when I read that as well yeah no look sad news um and obviously that means we're going to have to name Kenny Baker geek of the week we I don't know if he was a geek we've we've given the geek of the week award to a lot of famous you know lot of celebrity who have been in geeky films who have died but I don't know if they actually are Geeks like do you have to

be a geek to to portray a character in a nerdy film uh I think they kind of think they honorary honorary yeah that's what I think too yeah because when you go and see them at conventions remember when we saw Nicholas Brendan and that Dopey [ __ ] that plays Ana Ana and like he was well into it and he knew all the episodes and all the characters and didn't seem to even understand what Buffy the Vampire Slayer was yeah I know yeah when she dies of AIDS she ain't going to be our geek of the week I'm telling you that right now Nicholas Brendan will just just because Nicholas Brendan has been our geek of the week in the past and he hasn't even died of AIDS yet no but he

just he just continues to entertain us we've been watching Buffy episodes uh here it's on Netflix here have you yeah yeah what season have you been watching season 3 and it's I've actually been watching it lat as well cuz Hannah's never seen it oh really so I've been going back and watching from the start with her we're up to about season we're up to about season 3 now my God what was she doing in the early 2000s she's a little bit younger than us okay I won't ask but yeah it's just so good like I mean it holds up for me I don't know if it's just because I watched it at the time but like it's so clever I've yeah I found out had to get past the first season that one didn't date as well as the rest yeah no I agree who who's the villain in season 3 the mayor well

there's various but the mayor is the oh yeah Faith yeah but there that one my favorite season oh really see it's one of mine there's that great episode you know when Buffy takes on the aspect of the demon she can read everybody's mind yeah it's just that great thing where like it like people are all thinking all this weird stuff and every time it's Cordelia she just her brain says a thing and then she just says it every time she just says exactly what what in her head it's amazing so clever season 3 did have some great Standalone episodes hush is from season 3 too right no season 4 that's when she's a college really yeah see season 4 had the best character arcs yeah but the worst villain and the worst like season Arc the worst Riley oh Riley

awful yeah and Adam awful yeah Adam Jesus Christ no I love it but I mean that was the season that Willow really came into her own that all of the side characters started getting really fleshed out yeah really is this what we're doing this week we're talking about Buffy I guess so all right you don't to talk about Buffy do you want to talk I mentioned it already do you want to talk about suicide squad oh we may as well Luke have you seen Suicide Squad I I want I don't want to say it oh you Haven don't I should say it but I just can't be bothered because it just sounds terrible look there's a film that I I would like in there somewhere that's exactly what I said Matt yeah but you know what I have a feeling there was a film we might have liked before they

did audience testing yeah and before some studio exec said you have to make this way more like Guardians of the Galaxy and so they put a whole bunch of pop music in there for no reason you know what I read it they I read a thing that said that they they had the film and they they test screened it and they were worried about it and then they got the company that made the trailer that everybody loved to re-edit the film and you know what it I mean I don't know whether I'm I was thinking that because I I knew that already but it just feels like it was edited into about 100 trailers absolutely every that trailer with that trailer was it you actually like the trailer or was it the music that sucked you in cuz that's it was just all these little it the way you

know the way a trailer works is it's like a little tiny film like there's a there's a scene and then there's a conflict and then it gets resolved and then someone says a little oneliner and then they all leave and then that's this movie is just that like over and over again yeah and I have a feeling that some of those little flashback quick cut sequences were whole scenes that played out in the original film yeah exactly yeah evently a lot of Joker scenes were cut a lot yeah well I've got no problem with that to be honest yeah to be yeah I don't want to see any more of that oh my God I don't know after Heath Ledger wowed us yeah this is what they come up with for the Joker unless because he I I saw an interview with Jared Leto and he said that he wanted to give them a lot

of options so I'm I'm I mean unless he just gave them too many options and they chose bad options he was terrible yeah I think from an actor's point of view giving them a lot of options means you didn't do a very good job of finding your character or maybe it's just Jared Jared could you just read the script just read what's on the line there that that'd be great yeah stop giving us options You' got enough options you know I feel bad for in all of this Ben affle oh oh yes cuz he's in this a bit but he's like I mean he he's not he's fine in this as well but like I can imagine just him sitting there watching this going oh for God's sake yeah I'm Batman in this I really think they need to slow down I think the

problem with this is if they're rushing ahead to try and catch up with Marvel yeah and so he you've got 13 villains who we're just going to throw in and we've got they just a move now let's go move on I think the problem is they're yeah they're they are rushing and they're they don't know what's wrong they don't know why it's not working and they're just trying all this [ __ ] making a mess I can tell them why just ask us we will tell you listen to this podcast guys I really want to talk about this and Luke you're not going to see it Matt you've already seen it yeah listeners I don't know whether you've seen it or not but we can't really talk about this without maybe the potential of getting into some spoilers so spoiler alert don't know it matters for this cuzz the

plot is just it doesn't even matter like so yeah we'll talk spoilers but I mean I don't think it I'm pretty sure I can work it out from the trailers okay can I just say this right some woman right decides we need a team of super villains to fight a potentially bad superhero that she's imagined up that might come one day yes and in assembling this team of super villains One becomes the bad guy a mega super villain yeah and then she really has to get the rest of the villains together to fight it yeah right chicken and egg scenario yeah there was she assembles a squad and in assembling the squad she creates a scenario where she needs the squad yeah but skipping right to the end into the post-credit sequence where Ben Affleck as Bruce

Wayne actually has to walk in and say right that didn't go very well let me handle it in future yeah I know that's what which is funny Frome point of view why couldn't Batman have done all of this exactly if he was there watching this and willing to participate just ask him for help yeah not only that it's almost like the movie itself was saying don't worry there won't be any more Suicide Squad movies the next one will be Justice League and we promise it's better yeah that's right just getting this out of the way but like why why are any of the villains in this apart from the fact that they they comic book villain who in the comic books because they're established as as villains you know it

made a cool story but most of them are just useless in this scenario anyway the only person oh absolutely that that that I can see the government actually saying maybe we should try and get this guy on our side is Deadshot or Diablo he's a guy that can actually do things yeah but he he's like too unpredictable like is literally a high here's here's a briefcase full of money you work for us now yeah you're a really great shot do it for us yeah but here's the thing right an Australian [ __ ] bank robber with a boomerang what the [ __ ] up against two ass Tech Gods yeah he's not going to be able to do [ __ ] all no I don't even understand why Harley was there I mean apart from the fact that she was the only good character in this yeah and she was a great character too like she

actually was cool and a Harley movie might be good or a Batman versus Joker movie that features Harley might be good but they wasted on this and they wasted The Joker yeah I agree I'm really not liking Jared L as a joker no he was well I tell you Luke having not seen the movie you are in a fantastic place to go either way right now yeah you think you don't like him well I just keep even from I think I don't like him as an actor now you know what I would have done just from what I hear from what how he's played The Joker I would have played it totally straight that's what I would have done quiet unpredictable sociopath that's what I would have done because you you've got Heath Ledger going all [ __ ] crazy nuts batshit lunatic yeah so don't don't do a

different version of that do something else cuz in this he's not even that crazy Cesar Romero was better at the Joker than Jared Leto is he's just kind of eccentric in this like he doesn't hey dude do you want to [ __ ] my girlfriend yeah man she's your girl no go on [ __ ] her know you want her yeah I do want her she's hot but she's your girlfriend so I'm going to say no well [ __ ] you dead yeah he's kind of like a he's like a a weirdo gangster he's not like the Joker yeah and even method actor and he sent people like a rat and stuff like he's crazy well he he says that they shot a lot more and it got cut out and and I I don't know well of course he's going to say that like yeah well I mean I'd be happy for them I promise I was better but they cut out the bits where I was

better well they should have cut it all out he doesn't influence the plot yeah if he they had to put in everything I want it would have been a good movie yeah and I mean a lot of their backstory stuff didn't make a whole lot of sense anyway was that that weird scene where I know that apparently I know what you're going to say apparently this happens in the comics and it's a kind of a throwback I guess to the Tim Burton Batman where there's all these Vats of chemicals at ace chemicals cuz it's ace chemicals not axis and uh he has a little scene with Harley he says do you love me well then jump into the chemicals and then so she jumps in and then he jumps in after but it was like like was it just didn't really fit and like it didn't make any sense well

here's the thing if we are assuming that the Joker became all [ __ ] pale and green head because he drove into the chemicals right yeah and he's now asking Harley to do it and she does it and then about 2 minutes later as an afterthought he goes a [ __ ] it I'll jump in as well right he jumps in it has no effect on him because we're assuming he's already had it done to him and it just makes no sense she's gone insane because of a scene we've seen previously yeah and and also his hesitation I'm like what are we supposed to take his you know like he pauses before he jumps in like he was like sucker and then he was like oh wait no I do love her like what what is that it was just so strange maybe that was one of the options they were given I'll do an option where I don't go

at all I'll do one where I go straight away and I'll do one where I pause first oh man apparently as well uh can't remember I read this you know the scene where uh she none of this it's so [ __ ] messy she gets her bomb in her neck disabled and then he comes and gets her in the helicopter right but she falls out of the helicopter apparently there's also another version uh which got changed because of test audiences another option where he pushes her out I'm like I'll do one more I push her one where she falls one where she pushes me out did they even have a script or he was just like oh I'll give you some options [Laughter] it was a Choose Your Own Adventure yeah make one where I fall out yeah yeah try

that makes no sense the whole thing way we used to make movies no just what do you want to do next knowing what the plot was until you were filming okay what happens next yeah and then it's like oh wait we said something else in the first scene ah whatever no one will notice um how did she get a phone uh the security guard got paid to give it to her right see I missed that I was like what the [ __ ] where did she get you missed it because it happened in a [ __ ] 10 frame scene edited like a [ __ ] music video or film clip yeah right okay because all I know is that they had them restrained in will also they let Will Smith out or sorry Deadshot he wasn't Deadshot he was just

Will Smith and he was good in it but he was just Will Smith like he's entertaining um let him out they have a conversation with him they give him a gun like they play that out right and then he's on their side presumably but then in the next scene where they go to get him he's like going to fight that whole SWAT team of guys who are coming in to get him like like yeah wait when did he revert to like not being in on the joke in on the well I I I think this is another case of they had options and they ended up using both cuz the same thing happened with Harley Quinn we got an introductory scene to her then later in the film we we got another introduction when they were busting her out of prison we're like no no no we've seen this yeah

right it's like they reshot some things and left the bits they were supposed to replace in as well you know actually really through the structure of this movie right off right okay and the other thing is they assembled The Suicide Squad and then it's at the last minute it's like oh oh and here's this other guy who's part of the squad as well oh and look here's another person as well like yeah like what the [ __ ] you've never heard of these guys before so they're not going to get uh any Exposition we get backstory on everybody this is this is you know this is Deadshot this is Harley this is Killer Croc blah blah blah uh oh and then just before we go that slip not over there he he climbs things uh and then as they're in the plane taking off Katana jumps in

oh this is Katana as well she's got a sword yeah she's here for a slightly different reason than you that we want to go into no cuz she's she's a good guy question mark in this could maybe it just been a bit better if they sort of cut those characters out well I read an interview cuz I was like what the [ __ ] was with slipnot cuz he he just shows up and he's he's you know it's like he's part of the team but then he he spoilers he just dies straight away because I had to show that the little bombs in the neck were legit right cuz they've got all got these because it was like Fortress That ' 80s movie with Christopher Lambert exactly they' got these explosive devices think about that I want to watch that again great you should it's a good movie two endings and

don't watch Suicide Squad we ending yeah we probably talked about that before there's two endings to Fortress and I remembered the ending where they get outside and they fight the truck and then I was telling someone about how good the ending was talking to someone about it and they were like what are you talking about the movie just ends when they leave yeah that happened the same thing happened to me with the Army of Darkness oh yeah there's two endings to that as well yeah where one where he drinks too much of the stuff and ends up in the future yeah that was the version I saw and I was telling somebody about that and they're like no he fights a dead in esart but uh yeah and then and I read an interview with sorry back to Suicide Squad slpm Mar

um I read an interview that said they uh the film was too long so they just decided to cut out lit Knot's backstory since he dies anyway right I'm like that's a [ __ ] well that's a terrible way to handle it yeah I mean I get it like Jos Weeden would have done that do you know what I mean given this whole guy whole backstory and everything and then killed him in the first scene like yeah but he said that could be done well he said he didn't want to he didn't want to do a fake out like that right like so they just they just reshot a scene where he show goes up late and then and then he dies like 5 minutes later what the [ __ ] that's so weird what a dog's breakfast this movie is know do you know what I liked the second half a lot more uh once it was kind of like a linear

story that I could follow and it wasn't like yeah except that I didn't like it because by that point three things number one the bad guys are just a faceless Army literally yeah that was and that and that's just infuriating okay let's not care about anybody yeah they just bodies to to Gun Down second now I must have missed something but I didn't realize they were going to rescue that woman I thought that place and then suddenly yeah well as a fake out that was that was not a reveal or a twist for me it was just me thinking I'd missed something yeah right no it just didn't make sense and number three if you've got secrets that your team shouldn't know about and that might completely alter their uh dedication to Mission you've just sent them on don't put them

in a folder marked top secret and put it in the boot of the car they're driving in in fact if if you'd written good chess moves on it he would have even opened it right but because it said top secret on it he's like what's this oh yeah that's right also why not tell them anyway yeah who cares yeah like like oh it's it's ter like because they obviously spoilers again the bad guy in this ends up being enchantress uh and she's building a giant machine that will wipe out Humanity but they don't tell stand in front of a giant machine while she's doing a weird little dance yeah yeah uh but they don't tell them that they tell them that it's terrorists and then but like they're not they're not idiots like there's a the build it looks like the building from Ghostbusters

there's a big cloud around it [ __ ] lightning shooting out of it they're like oh terrorist yeah look sounds sounds legit like oh yeah weird creatures that are made of like clay that uh there's just hundreds of them that used to be humans yeah yeah ter my favorite part though was when they're standing with Joel kinman at that very moment where they find out the truth they say [ __ ] you and they all go into a bar right yeah and they talk and they start throwing around their kind of Back stories and the reasons why they're doing what they're doing and then about half an hour later Joel kinman walks into the bar and it's like have you been standing outside this whole time no that was my favorite scene just decided to come in yeah yeah it was the first time

in a movie where where any of them had any depth yeah and then they ruined it I mean it picked up again at and then the [ __ ] Boomerang man storms out and he says you know I've just smashed this if anyone doesn't want to help me don't and he was like fine I won't he leaves and then he's just in the next scene I know he turns up but that cuz that was a good gag like cuz he's been saying the whole time I'm [ __ ] out of here as soon as we get these bombs disabled and he keeps saying that and then they're like kind of banning together the guy smashes the thing and he's like he legs it like that was funny yeah he stayed gone usess anyway exactly yeah but then they've obviously fil the first lot of film where he's there anyway yeah for the

rest of it yeah he had he like served no purpose for the rest of the film except he threw that Boomerang with the camera on it which was [ __ ] stupid he throws a boomerang so with a camera on it so they can see what's going on inside and then he's like controlling it with his phone that was was stupid God forgotten about that I really liked uh I liked enchantress like as a you know like her dark form and I really like the first scene where she trans you know she changes into enchantress the way they did you know her hand comes from underneath and then that was turns over that was very that's the thing Matt there was so much about this movie to like it was just all out of out of order and done badly yeah that's exactly I think there's maybe a

version of it exists that I would like but it's not this one yeah I didn't hate it sorry Luke we've talked about a movie you haven't seen for like 30 minutes now so no I'm fine I think You' pretty much convinced me it's not the movie for me no definitely wait I mean maybe watch it later what but what's the next DC movie coming out uh Wonder Woman I think Wonder Woman yeah I think it's Wonder Woman I hope it's Wonder Woman and then appar I this this made me laugh too there was a headline I was reading a Suicide Squad article and uh the headline and I forget which website this was on um but there was a headline next to it in the sidebar that said um director denies claims Wonder Woman is also a mess like [ __ ] hell I'd hate to be that guy oh no Jesus yeah no this movie

was weird when the woman's next next year yeah and I don't they've got to should they stop and start again well that's people are saying that I don't know the other thing that annoys me about this is that uh people are being so [ __ ] weird about all of this like with the sewing Rotten Tomatoes because the critics don't like the filmm did you see that y ridiculous um there are uh movements like fan movements to rate the film 10 stars on everywhere before it even comes out to encourage people to go see it like what is wrong with you just just that's the thing this movie it's still making money no not not anymore it's not it it was for a week and then it uh it dropped like 79% or something like that cuz the hype worked for the first week

same with Batman vers Superman yeah they're not getting people to go back and see it again no no because God no cuz people are saying oh now that was a bit [ __ ] look they might sell some Halloween costumes to girls who want to dress up like Harley Quinn that have never heard of him before Hot Topic has a lot of uh lot of Suicide Squad stuff because it's we have Hot Topic here obviously well I'm not surprised because this was basically Hot Topic the movie yeah gen generally speaking I shop there uh but I'm not going to be buying any of the Suicide Squad merch uh they've got like the Joker's purple jacket like trench coat which I saw that in the shop and I was like that's cool oh it's Suicide Squad merch no I'm not interested Dew I'm probably pronouncing

that wrong they're uh accusing the director of stealing their style which I think is funny oh do you really want to be claiming that of a movie that did this well oh yeah but I know but I mean I can see like uh the Joker in particular his his style is very reminiscent of you know of ninja sure but I won't say that ninja is all too original you know what I mean his look is fairly derivative he just might not well that's what it that's what their style is I guess they just take [ __ ] from everywhere and I mean I did read one review that said that the Joker in this is like Marilyn Manson from the Tainted Love music video where he's kind of like yeah gangster goth yeah yeah I agree with his his grill teeth what do you call that yeah

grill grill I think yeah yeah well look another movie that's losing money hand over fist uh as pretty much everyone predicted is the Ghostbusters remake oh man the film no one wanted to see and told them and they didn't care um even even at even if they kind of pull in the the very optimistic estimate of the prediction for the rest of its theatrical run it's still set to lose about $70 million oh my God so when it first came out in the first week they're going look well we'll be making a sequel and now I they ain't think they're going to stop talking about sequel so I mean I think it could have been good I haven't seen it yet have you

guys seen it I'm not going to see it I got no interest in seeing it it's if it was the movie that I was hoping for I would go see like if it was Ghostbusters 3 if it was a continue on not a reboot SL remake whatever it is the thing is a lot of people a lot of like uh I guess critics they're not critics cuz they're just people on YouTube or the internet uh well I mean they are critics uh people who whose opinions I generally you know respect and agree with have said that they they had fun in it like they enjoyed it like it wasn't the best film ever but it was was not as bad as they thought and it was pretty fun I kind of want to watch it but also I'm like could be less interested yeah I mean and not cuz only the [ __ ] reasons the internet came up for I any

looks stupid and I don't want to watch it and don't care about any of that stuff like yeah it just doesn't look like I would I would like to see Ghostbusters 3 well like a continuing on from Ghostbusters 2 you won't they could have had the same cast in there look I've said this before I wish they hadn't made Ghostbusters 2 until now yeah I think Ghostbusters 2 as a script would have worked a lot better if it was 30 years on yeah totally yeah and it's too late now cuz they go they got burned on that cuz it was not very good yeah that's right oh did you just admit Ghostbusters 2 was not very good oh adult me knows that it's not but uh as a kid it was it was great even as a kid I was like this is not

right come on they fight in the Statue of Liberty yeah well they they know did they fight in it they just kind of ride it which doesn't make a whole lot of sense like you know what I haven't seen it in a long time I can't remember why they had to do that why did they have to ride the Statue of Liberty they they ride the Statue of Liberty to get to a building and then smash the building open so they can get in or something I think I don't it's been a very long time yeah that sounds right that sounds familiar blocked it out just blocked it all out did you guys see the new rogue one trailer no not interested yes I did of course I [ __ ] did oh man I woke up it had been up for 4 hours and it had 6 million views and then it had 6 million and

one man this trailer is is oh my God [ __ ] they they know how to get me this has got some stuff been burned before I know we've been burned before because we all thought the trailer to The Phantom Menace looked good but I'll go as far as saying this can't suck oh man because this trailer is excellent there's so many things in it just every every like cut from like you know scene to scene in the trailer I was like oh oh oh oh yeah and then at the end well trailer spoilers when she's walking out on that Gantry and the [ __ ] TIE fighter comes up and I'm like what is this I've got I've got to see this I've got to see this Death Star blocks out the sun yeah

[ __ ] firing Bazookas at 880s my God looks so good cannot wait that [ __ ] robot he looks cool yeah he does so I mean it could still be [ __ ] but uh no no I I can't see it being as good as episode seven really but we'll see I I got to say I mean looking at this it looks like it could be better for me cuz it's about some different stuff no no I'm not saying it's going to be bad I just I think episode 7 was a great movie and I just think I don't think Rogue Bon's going to replace that true but I I think episode seven as we all know played it very very safe yeah and I don't know that this one's going to and it it also it's it's got I mean I know

it's stuff that we've seen before but it's like stuff that I like and there it's more of that kind of thing I know that like some people criticize the force awakens for being too similar and I mean visually this is very similar to a New Hope and an Empire but I don't know that I like that fine by me yeah yeah not long the wa what December it comes out yeah to long too long indeed oh Darth Vader's in it obviously we knew that but then he in the trailer at the end his little head is it Hayden Christensen in Darth Vader suit no it's not why he's probably looking for work yeah be the right age now y I think to bite the bullet and um actually just get James L Jones to wear the suit oh my goodness that would be very funny they could just digitally fix that later yeah

that's somebody's Dan uh is there a Hidden Gem in Singapore uh he's headed there with his wife in October for the very first time and is there a Hidden Gem you would recommend he they uh they make an effort to to see in Singapore and uh if if they find you do they get a real life achievement and we've said before that that is a competition if you can find yeah that stands AB you win something um so so that stands but yeah is there something he should do in Singapore that he might not otherwise know about all right well I mean it's it's it's tough to suggest a Hidden Gem to someone when I know literally nothing about them or what they like right well they they listen to the show presumably they like us for some reason say that again they listen to this show so

presumably they like us for some so with with only that in mind I'm going to give you a hidden food gem a hidden drinks Gem and a hidden Hidden Gem wow and then I'm going to give you a clue to finding me while you're here o right yeah okay so the hidden food gem there's a couple of pretty cool places to eat here right um if you're into kind of comic books Etc which we are right there's an officially licensed DC Comics Cafe quite good but that's not my recommendation the hidden food gem is the hungry Heroes Cafe unlicensed which basically means any hero from any type of comic book all smooshed together in a pretty cool place to go and have food cool hungry Heroes all right hidden drinks gem not so nerdy well nerdy in a different way maybe it's a bar called the library which is a

Speak Easy Speak Easy's very popular here in Singapore at the moment hidden bars right you need a password to get in and you have to go to their website Facebook and figure it out every day what the password is that's awesome okay we didn't have that the and it's hidden behind a bookcase and they will not let you in without it that's awesome in fact unless you tell them the password they will not even admit they have a secret Speak Easy hidden behind the bookcase wow I need to try that now would you recommend someone to try say Singapore Sling or something what uh I would say Singapore slings are absolutely disgusting unless you like fake ch cherry flavored drinks uh I do not I don't think just have a gin and tonic while you're here oh you got Luke then Luke's on

board yeah yep yeah sling uh but if you want if you want a Hidden Gem that's actually hidden that you've got to actually go and find uh I like kind of urban exploring and uh and off in the jungle there's a uh a building called istana woodnook which is an abandoned Sultan's Palace oh if you follow me on Instagram you've probably seen pictures of me there I have that's my hidden hidden gem for you I didn't know that's where you were but I have seen photos yeah yeah yeah and my clue if you want to find me although you might uh you might miss this if you coming in in uh October but on the 10th and 11th of September I'll be at singam more ComicCon oh so the pool is narrowed if you're coming then cool I'll be there uh I was at Boston ComiCon on Friday

mean I want you to ruin the joke before I say whether I have or not yeah hang on let me I'll hey see it mhm ah yes yes another one yeah yeah so uh he sat there and he had pred that out and and I so I went over and I'm like Sor are you is this you and he was like yep and I was like oh hello and we had a chat for a bit he was very friendly uh I told him we just move from Australia and stuff he's really friendly that and I said oh how much is one of these prints five bucks for for a poster of that so you so you now own that oh yeah yeah it's right here it's in front of me on the desk actually nice but yeah so it was good it was good good it was nice and yeah a lot of um I I I read Comics but I'm not familiar with who makes them like the

artists and stuff I'm just I just kind of read them so uh there were a lot of people there there was a guy who's worked on stuff like spidergwen and uh some other stuff that I like but I don't know who they are so I feel bad like I don't want to go up to somebody and say hi sorry what do you do so I feel like for next time I need to do some more research you don't owe them a thing Matthew was fun day Dave would have [ __ ] hated it yeah it was uh it was a lot more packed and a lot less uh socially capable than PS let's put it that way well he hated packs too as far as I can remember well exactly that's my point winged all day at Supernova of course of course we saw

Carrie Fisher and she was aw good yeah she was amazing that's why I really wanted to see William Shatner again because that was it's one of my favorite panels I've ever seen was William Shatner [ __ ] but I don't know if I necessarily want to sit through him again just talking about whatever the [ __ ] he felt like that I'm very happy I saw but yeah doesn't matter what you asked him he was going to talk about whatever he felt like riding horses and I've got a son I've got back pain Bulgarian acrobats amazing oh uh have we got some news to round out this this show sounds like you're trying to push us in a certain direction but I'm not sure which one you're talking about there something else you want to talk about we can talk

about anything you want what do you want to talk about once again I feel like you're trying to yeah I feels tell us what you want to talk I I'm honestly I don't mind I don't know what's happening yeah all right look fine you're saying this like there's something that you want to talk about and somehow you're like trying to be diplomatic and be like no no no don't don't talk about what I want to talk about no I'm actually I'm I'm not not at all I'm just trying to you know I was just segueing into some news sure I mean we there's plenty of news did you see this thing about the Tesla car I wanted to talk about this actually because I I question the truth of of some of these articles yeah me too and I think they skipped over a lot of very important points in this article

questions I would have asked as a journalist so the the the gist is a guy in a Tesla a Tesla is one of the electric cars I've seen them in Sydney my next car yeah I they're really cool there's a Tesla syy yeah they cost too much that's how much they cost yeah yeah it's like a 100 grandish right yeah yeah I think uh that was in Australia um so this guy he was driving his Tesla and he had a a heart attack and the article says uh the Tesla has well it has a thing called driver assist and the and the premise of the Articles generally that I saw was that he uh he was having a heart attack and so he asked the car to drive him to the hospital and it did mhm okay yeah yeah I mean the headline

of this article is Tesla drives man to hospital yeah now I having been interested in these cars before before now I know that that's not how it works because there's actually a more a recent article as well where a guy was driving his car his Tesla uh assumed that driver assist would just take care of things yeah and he was watching Harry Potter instead of paying attention uh and because of the situation there was some glare uh and the car got confused and he plowed into a truck and was decapitated so uh y so it doesn't work like that it's not drive it's not self driving remember they came out and said that was sort of a freak occurrence sure but it's not supposed to just drive it's supposed

to stop you from plowing into something if you're not paying attention like obviously this guy was abusing the new models are will drive you but you still have to they you still have to be aware of what's happening it's not uh now hold on you can't just be having a heart attack lying on the floor of the car and yell car drive me to the hospital and it does it doesn't work like that it doesn't uh it won't pull off like a highway it it doesn't it doesn't do that it'll it'll stop you from crashing into something it will apply the brakes if it sensors the there something around but it doesn't it's not a self-driving car unless it's some new model that I'm not aware about not aware of it doesn't work like that no I think they do now I don't think they you you

can't drive a self-driving car around you're not allowed to do that yet cuz again they also talk about to do the Tesla driver in Florida was killed when his self-driving car crashed into a semi- truck they're not self-driving no and Google when they were developing their car you know were going on about how eventually once everyone has a self-driving car it'll be safer than the way that we have it now because human era is taken out of the equation and everything will just be running on like insane GPS but like it's not like some people are just sitting in the back seat and their car is driving them now no right no that seems legally you still have to have someone in the front seat I know but I'm saying it it it it's not self-driving

you don't just tell it where to go and it goes there like it's not well at least that's not what it's intended for it's driver assist it's not self-driving and that's like these articles seem to be implying that this is like everybody you go by a Tesla you don't have to drive anymore the car will drive for you hold on buddy I'll get you there yeah that's not how this works as far as I'm aware he still had to drive the car like most of the time like the Google self-driving cars are still being tested like they're not you can't drive around in one of them so I I'm trying to read because I'm pretty sure they're probably they're more self-driving than I think you believe they are I but I'm just trying to find out I have I heard the same criticisms before this article came out

because it was uh another podcast where one of the guys owns a Tesla and he was criticizing this guy who had the accident because he saying and and and also for the press for coming at it from this angle and and and saying this is a self-driving car and they're autop piloting Tech technology failed and this guy died like no that's not what it's for it's to stop you from swerving into another lane or crashing into something like it's not to drive you to I'm reading this right now the hands still have to be on the steering wheel and if you take them you can take them off for a moment but if you take them off the steering wheel for more than a couple of seconds you get a message saying to put your hands back on or it'll cut out mhm um it's more like cruise

control it's like a it's like a really really good cruise control right now with with that Hands on the Wheel thing I think that's more s to the fact is you also you legally can't have a self-driving car I was about to say legally Tesla are not allowed to release a self-driving car yeah that's what I'm saying it does not it will not drive you to the hospital Google have not been allowed to release their self-driving car correct no they can test it in San Francisco now Tesla's basically it's just an update and a lot of their cars will become self-driving cars yeah no I'm sure they'd love to legally they can't be done look I don't think it's as self-driving self-driving but I think it's more than what you're thinking as well all right no that's fair look and

listeners if you know more about this that's I'm sure the listeners know much more about it than we do a lot more cuz most of my my knowledge of it came from that previous article about the guy who had the car accident and then everyone was saying well he's an idiot that's where a lot of that came for me as well and I think I just read that differently to how you read it he was an idiot because what happened with with that one is a truck turned in front of him and the the camera cuz the sun was behind it the camera didn't pick up the truck turned if if the light if the sun wasn't there the car would have break and stopped itself yeah that's right because he was traveling in a straight line on a highway like it's it's not like it's not pulling you off the highway and then

stopping at the lights and then driving you to the hospital like it's it's it's like cruise control that will also hit the brakes if it senses something in front of you like you know what I mean like it's not calculating a route and then just driving you to the hospital or or whatever like this guy who had the heart attack it's great and I'm sure that that was very helpful to have the car like you know not handling the speed and breaking for yeah but it didn't just he didn't just fall down the ground and like ah take me to the hospital and it did no but that seems to be what they're implying and it I don't know it just bugs me a bit because people are getting the wrong idea about oh I mean it's great publicy he definitely still would have been in the front seat he still

would have he had to have his hands on the wheel he had to be like indicating and turning corners and doing things himself it doesn't do that and I mean Teslas are great I love Teslas it's a good publicity Forum so you know whatever it's just not entirely accurate I don't know unless I'm mistaken and listeners if you know better uh and you know we'll look more into it Luke feel free to correct me if uh if you find that I am wrong it's got to F you think there be something somewhere that says just stop Point Tesla tesla.com I'm going there there is I just literally read read out that all the reasons why Tesla's [ __ ] car is not a [Laughter] robot oh dear ordering a bottle less they're very

nice you hear the asteroid asteroids did you guys hear the astronauts dying of space AIDS well I mean it's not surprising the [ __ ] they use protection when you [ __ ] space aliens yeah so I mean I'm I'm joking somewhat but it is a little like that uh space radiation uh seems to be causing astronauts Apollo Astronauts specifically to uh to have issues dying they're dying of heart disease at four to five times the rate of other people because they think that the uh the space radiation this is a theory obviously at this point uh has done something to their to their bodies I guess and they're they're having increased instances of heart disease okay so that's that's terrifying it would have

to do something I know their eye their eyes aren't that good when they come back extended periods and space actually have effect on your eyes right they just get used to seeing things from very far away it's hard to readjust your focus you like keep looking at the ground like oh that Earth's a bit close oh hold on I got to step back if I want to look at this yeah that was the sound of the Rocket taking off um but this doesn't bode well for Mars Missions at this point because uh trips to the moon are significantly shorter than trips to Mars and and also if you're on Mars we don't really know uh how much of the radiation you're going to be getting there compared to here although I assume they're measuring

all that stuff now with the the Rover if he's got the there only one way to find out that's to send you yep cuz I'll tell you what if you need somebody who is now immune to cancer you only get cancel once so Luke's Luke's will ready to go bring it on Space radiation or not so what you're saying is if you get AIDS from someone who's had cancer then you are immune to cancer sorry you're immune to what are you saying I think you're immune to both Jesus that's how that works Luke you need to get yourself to Africa you have a gift that only you can give oh man so they've done uh they've done some research on mice uh both you know like radiated and otherwise to to see what happens and simulated weightlessness to determine whether

there's a difference between the mice who were weightless and radiated and the mice that were just weightless uh mhm and yes there was a difference so they they're kind of figuring it all out and uh hopefully they'll be able to come up with a way to prevent that from happening in the future so that we can actually explore space a bit further yeah that'll be nice yeah now with this astronauts like how long ago were were they in space like was it we talking the Apollo missions this has taken years to happen or like 40 years ago is yeah oh come on 40 years just send people they'll be fine well they won't Luke they won't maybe you need to send people that are a little older you know what I mean exactly you know it takes that long if it takes 40 years for

you to get the heart disease just send people with less than a 40-year life expectancy yeah but the difference is it takes years to get to Mars and and that's constant exposure to it I see your point man whereas the the Apollo Astronauts said people with like 30 years left then you're volunteering Again Luke I mean 30 years you've you've you've always claimed you had had nowhere near that long left exactly I'm going to be lucky to hit 60 so Now's the Time to send me NASA let's get him up there it's like the reverse Martian send him to Mars this might be the last chance you have I guess we I'm gonna make a poster for uh for next week it's reverse Martian you the Martian poster was Matt Damon's face with bring him home M I'm

going to make a poster there says send him away it shouldn't be too hard to get you sent away I mean okay yeah all right so Olympics oh yeah they're on oh yeah I guess we're forgetting that this is uh this is our official Olympics episode isn't it great cover so far yeah I have a serious question about the Olympics go on I won't be able to answer it how long do you think everyone stops giving a [ __ ] about it and it goes away I don't know man people take it pretty serious getting that far I'm going I'm going probably another Olympics well I I'll be honest I didn't know this was on since we don't watch free toar television anymore I knew because I've seen some of the some of the hassles they've had I know that the uh they had problems with

Olympic Village when they got there because the apartments weren't finished they've got problems right now cuz apparently the diving pool has turned green and uh is burning the eyes of people in it and uh and they don't know why and now it's spread to the uh some of the other pools apparently so right Sans don't give a [ __ ] about the olymics and no one has started to watching it except that earlier in the week we won our first ever gold medal so now people are paying attention oh what for what in swimming nice yeah and we are an island and now that swimmer is blind from uh from whatever algae is in there gross but yeah apparently the opening ceremony was uh was a bit strange in that it was a giant vagina yeah I'm looking at this photo now that does look like a giant

vagina so good job Rio I think know clitteris goes well I can I think I can see it there at the top I mean basically it's this folds of pink opening up from the center mhm and uh of course the internet just went crazy immediately starting asking why is this a big vagina I mean no one seemed to mind they just didn't really get it um also apparently this is just something interesting that I learned uh when they bring the different countries you know each of the countries come out at the start at the start at some point I've never seen one at the start though I would say Ral the countries later on and who knew Germany was here well apparently they come out in alphabetical

order but it's alphabetically based on the alphabet of the country hosting and so it's not you know it's not our alphabet and so it can be a bit confusing for people sometimes but this is in Rio right this in Brazil yeah that's right and apparently they all came out they use our alphabet here no well either that or there's something else going on but somebody told me that they were coming out in an unus like in not you know non- English alphabetical order it's not English it's the Roman alphabet all right F but that's what I'm saying it's like the they're it's a different ordering to to to English apparently and so when they came out they were coming out in a different

order and someone was like what's going on oh it's because the letters are in a different order they do it based on the country you know someone was actually watching it yeah I know I've bumped into a few people here yeah I I don't know anyone in Australia who's watching it okay so I'm looking at the Portuguese alphabet right now and I call [ __ ] sorry really all right yeah maybe they come what do they come out in then pretty much all Latin other countries entered in the alphabetical order in the language of the host country Brazilian Portuguese yeah so maybe if the China Olympics I'm assuming everyone would have been really confused because they don't even have an alphabet well okay if you look at uh on Wikipedia it's got a list of 2016 Summer Olympics Parade of

Nations during the parade of Nations athletes blah blah blah blah blah it's got a list of the mall United States broadcaster NBC reportedly made a request for the Parade of Nations to be conducted in English alphabetical order rather than Portuguese stating that American TV viewership would be affected if the US team entered in the middle of the parade as EST unidos in Portuguese instead of near the end of the parade as United States in English oh okay that doesn't mean that their alphabet is different that just means that the name of the country is different instead of being United States of America IE starts with a u it's America United starts with an A well now now I know now I know that as well of a way I've been I was misinformed until I

read that paragraph myself yeah look reading the whole article is not what we're about here it's our thing this wasn't even an article this is just is an anecdote that's gone horribly wrong for me so I apologize the anecdote why was Greece first uh like hold on Portuguese word for Greece well it's got it here it says greo it's still a g so yeah maybe it's Athens ah yeah okay could be but anyway somebody told me that they were in a different order because of that and apparently they were wrong as well so that's that's fine though they were in a different order than what they were but not for not for the reason the person told me no there you go they

just displaying my ignorance of who language what country is this independent Olympic athletes you know what this goes to show this goes to show that people that watch sports aren't very smart I mean we knew that already yeah but now it's been proved absolutely I watch sports I think the independent athletes are the ones where it's it's like there's a country that some cuz some people kickstarted to get in the Olympics didn't they there was a country that there was just one yeah there was one athlete that crowds crowdfunded to to be and the country wouldn't the country would like if you want to go raise the money yourself yeah basically yeah there's this I think there's a swimmer who uh who raised the money to to go it's probably the Singapore

swimmer could be uh maybe actually check that oh yeah because there's countries where if you don't have enough ath enough athletes there's no way you're going to win the Olympics right if you got one athlete like that athlete could probably do well at something but you're not going to win so maybe they just combine do well in a lot of things they're like look is there a winner of the Olympics yeah you get the most gold medals right isn't that the country that that wins overall right but if you've got one athlete from your country so if the country gets the most gold medals do they get like a big gold medal presumably yeah well look imagine it was you Luke and you were a country yep imagine you're a country right and you you win something right are you

going to be satisfied without a prize no no I'm making everyone who competed for me to come and give me their gold medals yeah see so presumably they've banded forces together to uh to create a larger potential of actually winning I can find the name of this guy but I can't find what country is from his name is Jeremy Taio United States oh Nigerian former triple jumper you didn't win a medal go fund me Jeremy Tai's Olympic Journey so where's he from Nigeria yeah says here he's from Renton USA Washington de cathete is this the right
