guy's gigantic [ __ ] oh yeah that was exciting so I don't think you need to apologize at all did you so I'm guessing you saw the pict St yeah yeah I saw it and uh listeners if you haven't gone and looked yet prepare yourself because uh it's not what you're expecting it's if you're if you're expecting just a really big [ __ ] uh you'll be disappointed uh if if you're expecting like a [ __ ] deformed tree trunk then that's close to what you'll get yeah that's what we uh that's what we bring each week I'm in New York for a change that's cool what are you doing in New York oh you know just uh had an opportunity to come down for a couple of days uh so I'm doing the same stuff I would normally be doing just uh just doing it here now so okay uh yeah checking it out

debating and playing Xbox yeah exactly killing time at light speed here in New York what more do you need that's right but yeah I've been checking it out I've been haven't been here since uh Luke and I were here a few years ago I got to say it's much nicer uh with the climate as it is now than it was then cuz when we were there it was when we were here rather it was freezing raining uh and there was filthy Brown snow and rubbish everywhere now um it's you know it's quite nice uh it's warm uh it's it's not raining and there's just rubbish everywhere so okay yeah well I'm I'm going to be there myself in a month yeah well you'll enjoy it uh Jael and hides has moved though Luke that's our favorite restaurant that we went to when we were here it's the only one I could

remember that we went to yeah it's no longer near Time Square am I welcome back there um I would say yes I don't think they mentioned you by name though did they M no they didn't but I I think apparently they had two stores before two two venues the one at Time Square which was more elaborate the one that we went to is gone Y and I'm wondering I'm wondering if it's because without the the novel The fake heart that you talk they couldn't do the show anymore I did it just they they gave gave it to me you stole a heart it's a theater restaurant and as part of the show uh a mad scientist reanimates you know a Frankenstein monster and at one point he's got you know like a it's like a foam human heart that's part of the show and he handed it to Luke and

said look after this for me all right and then never came back for it I'm still looking after it till this day so you know Luke's been waiting for him to come and collect it he hasn't and now they've shut down so I can only assume it's because you know without that vital piece of prop they couldn't do the show anymore no I think they could still do the show and there could still be a Frankenstein it just wouldn't be able to love good point well maybe that's it the audiences were like I don't know he seems of me he's not very [Laughter] [Music] relatable yeah so it's moved they still have all the excuse me they still have all the the heads mounted on the wall that that sing and dance and do shows and stuff it's good it's good little

little place but it's moved so can we pause for just a sec yes because I think my my mic has I'm just looking at my waveform and I think it's just done the thing it did last time where it suddenly just goes [ __ ] massive oh right okay because hello you know what okay it's I think it's the auto gain I think I no it's big again hello hello hello like if I'm just talking like this constantly it seems fine but if I stop for a sec and then start again or if I make the slightest little movement while you're talking is your auto gain in Skype on you know that tick box let me see preferences audio video yes it is should it be yeah no no no that's probably what

it is otherwise me see okay that looks better okay okay that looks better mine's been a bit weird as well but I think it's okay I think mine's just softer or something well your dick is softer uh conf you been mastbating and playing Xbox all day I can confirm that it's very comfortable right now Luke whatever you've done to it it's luxurious he's dick yeah right what you think I me I was just checking I don't like to be uh misinformed you know what I mean of course did you guys see the uh the Apple announcement yeah s it was I meant to be interested about it I actually watched this one live this is this is the first one I've actually well uh that's not true I used to watch some of

the Steve Jobs ones live but I had to get up at 3: in the morning to do that this time I just put it on yeah they uh they target it to your daytime now don't they that's right it was at uh I think it was 100 p.m. uh which is very reasonable Lu watch it when you have your lunch that's right I just popped yeah in fact that's what I did uh yes so I saw so we've got the Apple Watch 2 which uh is more appealing than the original Apple watch because it can do a bit more but I still don't know if I'm going to buy one of those don't know if I need that no I won't be doing that either I like that it's got its own GPS in it that's much more useful you don't have to have the phone for it to to do anything like it can do stuff on its own now but then the iPhone 7 I mean that's

pretty cool the iPhone 7 looks looks nice I like the new colors uh you know it's an iPhone so it's probably mostly the same except it hasn't got a headphone jack yeah what what do you think of that OD Choice well they do this they do yeah but well the thing is I'm looking at is um I've got like three sets of headphones that are all Wireless so I'm not even using a headphone jack so it wouldn't bother me so you're you're using Bluetooth yeah I've been using Bluetooth for years well I guess that's they're assuming everybody will be so well everyone will be if they want to keep using the [ __ ] iPhone yeah yeah know and like they've done this before they took you know they took the floppy disc drives out of things they took the CD

drives out of things uh they they what they do they remove things they do what do you think of their new headphones well I mean I I don't like the Apple headphones anyway and no and I'm almost certainly GNA lose one of those things cuz they don't have a cable at all like they're completely it's just literally just the earbuds separate and you put put them in each ear like I don't know that seems like and they also don't come with the phone either no no the ones that come with the phone are just headphones that plug into the Lightning Jack which is the the little normal Jack on the bottom that you power with and people are saying well how do I charge it and listen to music at the same time well you don't so that's weird you buy our headphones

wireless headphones yeah and the thing I mean that doesn't really do any good because I have my headphones in most of the time day and night there not a lot of time where I'm not wearing my headphones lately because I just don't go to an office I just sit and do things at home I often will just maybe put music on but normally yeah I'm always got headphones in yeah yeah that's right so I actually don't know when I'd be charging these so this doesn't really interest me just do what I do and get wireless ones it's they're great you don't have to charge those you have to but you just charge Point charge them when yeah yeah but yeah but that's why I have three sets that's your solution it's just buy two of or more well I'm going to have to

constantly buy these anyway cuz I'd lose them I mean I'm tangled up in my in my headphones every morning when I wake up anyway right so it would be a new morning ritual of trying to find the missing ear bit earbud that's like somewhere in my bed yeah one of them is inside of you now and you go find it I'm going to try and find a link for the headset I'm using Dan you should get some of them cuz they're great to sleep in okay one thing that one they they've done it's very apple and I think it's a bit it's a bit shitty they do this all the time though the wireless headphones their their wireless headphones they're not Bluetooth they've got their own Wireless chipset and they put that in there and that's what theirs use and so you can't use them with anything

else which I'm like come on guys what are you doing I think everyone start to get sick of that a little bit so these things will only I assume only work with your iPhone yeah cuz that's the kind of other half of this problem that I have with it because whenever my as I said I've always got my earphones in and whenever it's not plugged into my phone it's plugged into my laptop yeah you swap them it goes from one to the next without coming out of my ears right Apple what do I do what do I do well the answer is going to be you'll have to buy a new laptop which has got this new chipset in it yeah or I or I have to get that little adapter and have it constantly hanging off the bottom of my iPhone yeah

right yeah it's I don't know it's I can understand why they always do this and maybe you know iPhone 8 or 9 this will be accepted and everyone will just have moved on but right now I think it's get what we used to have well Apple definitely not going to back down like they still have it back down on their charging Jack have they Oh you mean then everyone else is using mini USB oh no except apple look I got to say the lightning connect the the apple one is better it's just it's not the one everyone else is using like the lightning one you can put it in front way back way whatever it just it just works like it's better it is yeah I do like that I'm into it yeah it's not um the one everyone else is using so it's annoying cuz you got to have different

cables for everything I've just and the segments I've just pasted a link they're the headphones I sleep in they work great oh did you buy them because they're called Halo na have had something to do with it oh they've got that little uh neck band so there's neand thing a neck brace goes on and then some wired earbuds come out of that yeah okay yep so that way yeah when you when you wake up in the morning they're just around your neck and you're not you're not connected to your phone and yeah do you wear these around in the street as well I've got a pair like I've got a pair for sleeping and a pair for work right the same kind same kind yeah right they're not too expensive either no I've got cheap ones see I'm still waiting on my uh the ones I backed on Kickstarter to show up you might want to

write them off cuz that was how many years ago now well they keep sending updates I think eventually I'll get something they are shipping them apparently up chip we've spent all your money I think that's the kickstarter slogan I think eventually you'll get something yeah I don't want to talk about that again there's something I kickstarted recently and um I've got my copy game but it pretty much come out and said to everyone in Europe look we're run out of money we can't afford to ship your games you'll get them one day we're not sure when that sucks I just backed uh the new Thorn watch the the well it's not by Penny Arcade it's by the guys from Penny Arcade you played it at Pax Luke oh that's on kickstarted

right now on there now yeah yeah damn you so crap just jump on there jump on there and get it so yeah and listeners check it out it's a it's a cool game it's like a role playing board game uh we had the record for number of wounds and we let the child die we'll uh maybe talk about that later I hope this is all in game what game and not just what happened at PX so the other thing uh well actually sorry there's two other things they announced one of which is Pokemon go on Apple watch um which I think it solves you know some of the complaints we had about Pokémon go the other week and it makes it more playable but you've got to have an Apple Watch so and I'm not buying one just to play Pokémon go no I can imagine that Pokémon

go would be more fun if you had an eye watch Apple well even just for the hatching of eggs cuz that's the stupid thing like with this you have to have the app open and walking and yeah it doesn't really work but if you just got it on your phone how awesome would that be didn't even play it long enough to know what that is well when you get an egg you've got to put it in an incubator and then you incubate it by walking so it'll be like a there's a 5 km egg you have to walk 5 km and then it'll hatch wow really trying to make this the least fun game possible aren't they but you've got to have you've got to have Pokémon go open and running on your phone for it to register so you've got to walk 5 kilm with the game open like if you lock your

phone doesn't count lame yeah so this solves that by uh if you've got it on your watch it just works so and I I think it's probably just a limitation you know like on the iPhone if you don't have something open it'll put it to sleep the the app so I think maybe that's why they weren't able to do it but still but this kind of solves but yeah again I'm not going to buy an Apple Watch just for that so certainly not and and it'll buzz when there's a Pokemon nearby and you can just catch it um I think you still have to take your phone out to catch it but it'll tell you what it is and yeah well that at least takes away from the fact that you've got to decide maybe I'll play it now take your phone out load up that slow ass app yeah and then see if there's anything around if there

was just a little device that went hey hey play Pokémon go here trust me yeah well there is actually I'm a bit excited I'm going to be able to you do it what do you mean I don't have an Apple Watch but it's also on Android Wear oh cool you can do it on your you got a Samsung watch have you uh LG LG do you yeah right I've had one for a while now yeah I've seen it it's pretty cool it had uh you had the pit boy theme on it still do yep that's pretty cool tells me time tells me when I get emails I can respond to them on emails it's good for directions H well they're also still releasing the the Pokémon go plus wristband thing which is like a like a I guess like a Fitbit kind of wristband thing that it's just for playing Pokémon go and it'll buzz when there's Pokémon nearby but I

mean I don't know I think they missed their window for that yeah I agree like millions of people would have bought that had they released it a month ago like yeah a month ago they would have been flying now people yeah they're going to sell a quarter of what they could have yeah I think so yeah and the other thing they announced uh at the Apple event uh also this is on Android as well um but it's um Super Mario run Nintendo are now releasing games on mobile phones and it's a Mario game where you just play you just tap to make him jump and he runs around and collects coins and stuff it looks fun but uh you know it's definitely a mobile game it's not it's not uh you know Super Mario World or anything like that it looks cool and um you know I think Nintendo

maybe needs to do more stuff like that if they going to stick around CU think we should all get it and encourage them to continue doing this yeah yeah they need to just become a third party developer yeah or whatever the NX is this new console needs to be just [ __ ] amazing it won't be probably not probably not well speaking of next consoles uh we had you know Microsoft announced can I stop you for just one second sure backed oh cool y well speaking of just had to get that out very good so Microsoft announced the Scorpio uh and now PlayStation PlayStation Sony have announced the PlayStation 4

Pro which is sort of the same concept but it's uh you know it's PlayStation it's for professionals coming out a lot sooner yeah um it's basically you know a a faster more powerful PlayStation 4 does 4K uh it's got a bigger hard drive in it and it's a better GPU and everything so it's it's it's similar to the Scorpio in that apparently the games will run on both but then they'll run better on the pro here's the one strange thing about the 4K video M it'll support 4K streaming but it won't support putting a 4K disc in wait what all right you can only stream 4K video like if you get a

Blu-ray or 4K blate disc and put that in it won't work it's only for streaming oh like streaming video games uh no streaming video as well yeah but the hang on what so it's going to upscale it to stream it at 4K no he's not saying you have to watch it at 4K just saying if you want to watch 4K you have to stream it you can't just buy a 4K disc oh oh sorry so online content like 4K yes right but not thiss I get you got you got got not this which I don't that just seems strange to me yeah it sounds backwards to me too yeah because I mean there's no I think online streaming is fine for me and it's great but it's not the same quality as a disc like and it it probably won't ever be yeah and no

matter what you do there's always going to be slight imperfections with streaming over a disc that's just how it works yeah like you buy a Blu-ray and it looks better than Netflix looks like it just does y [Applause] [Music] ago but it seems like it kind they are great for gaming are they oh yeah okay when you got the surround sound and you're playing like a shooter online and you can hear stuff behind you and okay it's actually a little bit of an advantage oh fair enough it seems like that kind of that was a big thing a while ago and now everybody's just kind

of like H yeah I mean I didn't have it and I desperately wanted it but then I got it and it really didn't you know rock my world in the way that I thought it was G yeah and since I moved I just can't be bothered setting it up again yeah I don't have anything here in fact I'm just using my TV speakers quite honestly yeah that's seems like that's what every well most people do I'm obviously anecdotal listeners if you're uh if you disagree or you have any comments let us know what do you use at home oh look and we're by no means saying it's just as good all I'm saying is I don't appreciate the difference enough to do anything about B yeah yeah right it's not worth the hassle of setting the whole thing up and troubleshooting it

when it doesn't work and [ __ ] around yeah and they look stupid too I'll just say that right now it always got a bunch of stuff on sticks all around you unless you mounted on the wall I'll Mount you on the wall thanks uh you mentioned Italy uh and obviously you know the studios been going a lot of effort to try and shut down websites that are sharing their content uh and it turns out Warner Brothers have gone further than some others in that they're trying to get their own websites shut down for copyright infringement against themselves against themselves yeah yeah this is just bizarre and I I I didn't really even understand this article Matt so why don't you explain it to me and the I think what what it's what's happening I think and it kind of

I think this is what sucks about this whole thing they they hire some company to to just send out letters to everybody you know everybody on the internet saying stop stop sharing copyrighted content right so this this this lawyer say start sending out these letters right but they and then they they just kind of set up a machine that'll scan for this stuff and then they'll send out these letters without even checking what it is and so they uh they send off things to Google saying uh please remove these from search results and so because it's just automated now I guess they're sending letters for their own websites so it's for example uh The Dark Knight and uh the Matrix films yeah they sent letters pictures yep they sent letters uh dmca

takedown notices to Google saying come on why aren't you blocking these websites and uh Google said because they're your websites is there still a The Matrix website uh yeah surely they would leave they'd leave one up and they also requested they take down um links to legitimate services like Amazon and IMDb and things like that but I can sort of understand why this is happening it's something that's very hard to do in even each request they've got here Google received more than 558 million web pages to be removed last year yes no one can sit down and view all of them so they do have to have a processing that's automated and they still need to find unet a little bit Yeah but stupid though so basically they're just they've just

got a big cannon they're pointing it at the internet like this is they make themselves look stupid like it doesn't I think this does more harm than good overall yeah but they're not they're not like pursuing this aren't they this is just one of those kind of funny little anomalies that you get from Mass sendouts they actually going no you [ __ ] take that down we're going to court yeah yeah and it's like they've got to go argue against themselves yeah they're both the plaintiff and the defendant that's right this is my property let's see how far they I'll take it but you know it's it's just a silly little thing yeah obviously they'll they'll drop it but I don't know

I think it's funny it's like a sad statement on how things are going on how things actually run now and I mean yeah we've discussed copyright law on this podcast quite a bit and uh yeah this this doesn't help you know no not at all no it just but just a bit of followup uh if you go to the old The Matrix website which if anyone remembers was wwww no wait that's too many www.whatisthematrix.com right yeah if you go to that now you just get a mysterious little holding page that says this website is not available but then it says check out our other websites Warner brothers.com and Harry potter.com so I don't I don't quite understand that but that's because

they got taken down maybe the doing a Harry Potter crossover Matrix Harry Potter crossover yeah the Matrix Harry Potter yeah maybe Hogwarts is in The Matrix that would explain it yeah I don't I don't I haven't watched enough of those movies to know what that is so you know what you hav watched enough Harry Potter to know what Hogwarts is I've watched one Harry Potter I'm not sure I think you watch I don't think you watched it very closely no I didn't to be honest Hogwarts is the school okay yeah you so I mentioned I'm in New York in Manhattan uh and there's a bit of local news uh apparently uh it's it's just Su Summer's just finished up here and

apparently over summer there's a bit of a crime wave here in Manhattan New York City Y not Sur well uh it was a little surprising um their thieves have been stealing ice cream right and selling it on the uh on the welln and popular ice cream Black Market well kind of yeah apparently it was like it's literally a crime wave and they've stolen like almost 1300 cartons or bars of ice cream and gelato in 11 thefts across Manhattan um apparently they there's four guys uh and they bust into like a you know like a a store mhm uh with bags and just start pulling the ice cream off the shelves into the bags and then make and then run off with it uh in on one day thieves made off with 256 pints of ice cream so apparently they like the good stuff

too they generally favor Ben and Jerry's haand DARS and something called talente which I've never heard of but I'm assuming that's good because it's in good company Yeah well yeah they they they want to sell it so apparently that's that's the deal they they steal it and then they go sell it somewhere else uh they like to little local stores they'll steal it from like the big big name places and then sell it steal it from the man and give it back to the little people exactly and they'll go sell it to the uh the the little stores they put it in a freezer bag with some dry ice and then uh then they go sell it on so wow I mean it it it's almost like a Robin Hood scenario except that they're still selling it at a profit

right yeah yeah so they well it's like Robin Hood if he was just a thief yeah and a propheter um yeah so they've had to install uh better security on the ice cream freezers and uh the stores have decided they're no longer going to stock them fully they'll just kind of you know put a couple of tubs in there and then hide the rest out the back and people can ask for it if they want it and no one's asking for ice cream this is the world we live in now I know it's so weird but uh yeah apparently they've discovered uh discovered a profitable little niche and uh yeah I mean you've got to be pretty certain that that plan's going to come about you know what I mean to bother even doing that right cu the penalty for stealing that much ice cream

I imagine is far dwarfing of the actual cash benefits they force you to eat it all I guess I assume yeah well that goes without saying plus it' be melted by then so yeah it's like when you got caught smoking as a kid and they made you smoke a whole carton of cigarettes you get caught stealing ice cream that kind of works you know oh yeah CU I'll say this right I quit smoking four or five months ago right mhm and uh never looked back quite happy quite happy good good uh that's not true constantly wanted one right constantly we talked about this last week a bit yeah yeah I know I just thought about it all the time so Luke you might want to take a page out of my book and do this so after several

months of not having smoked at all but wishing I was still a smoker I went to Japan which as you know you're allowed to smoke inside right y so I'm sitting at the bar I'm quite drunk I already drank that snake water that I think I've told you guys about and um and then the bartender just started lighting up a cigarette I'm like well if you can [ __ ] smoke here I'm going to smoke just cuz you can't do this anywhere else on the planet so I bought a pack of cigarettes smoked them over the course of that evening uh and then was just absolutely [ __ ] wrecked the next day and now I never want to see another cigarette again no for me it's all just now willpower I know I never will smoke in I still like the smell

though but I could imagine if I had have been if I when I first started smoking if someone had have gone they have smoked this entire C that would have put me off mhm well I've been smoking after about 10 years they had to give me a cart and I would have just said Thank you and smoked it yeah what a lovely present yep yeah well I guess I'm lucky I guess I'm lucky I don't I have no desire to smoke at all anymore so well neither was but I mean obviously when I quit I did like I it wasn't just magically gone but uh but not now it's been 3 years 4 years so yeah I'm a couple of I'm a few years now yeah good for us indeed I have some followups I so many more games yeah that's right I have a lot yeah because

I'm not wasting money on those things Australia is the place they're the most expensive too y I have some followup from last week I mentioned that uh we talked about how there was a a hurricane or tropical storm uh and you asked Luke if I had to worry about hurricanes yes and I said no I've been since been corrected yes I do have to worry about hurricanes so oh yes and I've also I was also told uh I'm not to call an eraser a rubber because that will really confuse people uh yeah that's what they are not here that a rubber is a condom EX exclusively I guess yeah everything made out of rubber can go on your dick but that's what even in primary school we knew that like an eraser was an a robber

was a condom as well but you would giggle right and and it also you still call it a robber yeah yeah no not here apparently if I ask for a rber uh people will look at me strangely or they'll [ __ ] you or they might think you're coming on to them yeah that's right we'll call the cops this could lead to some very interesting stories is this how the is this how you met the Canadian no it's not what was he trying to a race on the streets of New York the listeners have no context for that Luke I'm afraid oh crap all better all the [Laughter] better I befriended a Canadian last night that's it's all you need to know listeners no one befriends a Canadian Matt all Canadians are automatically all our friends yeah yes yeah yeah hey

Canadians based of evidence they're lovely they are uh or at least speaking of people that are very close to Canada yes I watched the second season of Fargo oh yeah and I remember you saying Matt that you had watched it I watched uh half of it right yeah um and then after watching season one you you weren't quite hooked on season two yeah we watched about half of season two uh I thought it was all right um Jenna really didn't wasn't into it at all so yeah I we haven't watched the rest of it because man I [ __ ] loved this really and I liked it so much more than season one I felt in season one the characters were like purposely unlikable and that was cool but in season two the characters really suck you in and I thought okay the only thing missing from that first

season was characters that you really do care about because they [ __ ] kill everyone so you know I dug it okay yeah I I mean I'd like to see the end of it see how it plays out yeah yeah um it's got Angus Samson in it so that's that's a it does it's got Angus Samson in it yeah doing quite well for himself yeah he is yeah good on him he's uh he's moved on from David ju James Juan David ju he moved from David ju years ago I assume David is James's brother yeah um and yeah and he's doing well uh and it's got uh it's got a bunch of good people in it it's got the guy from actually speaking of James one it's got the guy from The Conjuring in it yes it

does in fact he and uh anger Samson are probably reunited for the first time since those Conjuring movies yeah uh or uh insidius I actually finished watching something today what's that stranger things stranger things yeah yes oh I'm glad you brought that up because you weren't here last week when he said that he was watching it and I thought you would want to you would want to discuss it a little bit with him so is that cuz he doesn't like it do you like it no it was great those kids are amazing I thought we're were going to have a situation here where I'd have to be like Luke you're replaced on the podcast with a little kid who plays Dunston oh sorry any of any one of us is

Expendable if that kid wants to come on yeah no I think all those kids were really good and it was weird seeing whena Ryder actually act well was she though I I think everyone in there acted maybe she didn't Oh I thought maybe for a change she actually was CU I don't know she disappeared for 10 years she was in jail wasn't she was she oh no I'm joking yeah yeah there's a big fuss about her shoplifting or something a while ago I remember yeah but I think she made jokes about it when she hosted the Oscars that year right last I remember her being in was alien I don't think you go to jail for 10 years for um for shoplifting yeah right and I think shoplifting predates Alien Resurrection

to that's a terrible movie but strange of things I am I am so interested to see the second season to see sort of what happened so you finished yes completely finished and the ending I don't know I think the ending sort of good cuz it did sort of finish it all off and did close it but did leave it open for his second season as well so there's certainly some uh some story points that haven't been concluded H yeah yeah that's why when they said they were maybe going to do it in the '90s I was like oh I want to know what happened like it seemed like it was set up to follow straight on so but they're not doing that now they are just following straight on so yeah just

making a year later I think the kids are just too popular to not be a part of it yeah and they got to get the most those kids made that show they got to get the most out of them they can before one of the commit suicide yeah I wonder who it'll be yeah I don't know I don't know probably will get addicted to drugs one of them will commit suicide that'll be all of them one of them will go to prison yeah one of them will uh what what well Jake Lloyd maybe could take one under his wing one of them will suck me off if they know what's good for him which one never you mind they know when you hear Luke you could answer my [ __ ]

admit I haven't I've trusted you with this Luke have you uh have you [ __ ] me is that what's happening figur not yet I haven't figuratively [Music] speaking no it's a really nice looking Place yeah as all brothels should be open four plan we've got curtains between our beds I see okay just getting the link now are we going to put this in the show notes for the listeners to look at I don't see why not I suppose who's going to show up it's not going to have the street address is it I don't know if you're uh you know frequenter of this particular brothel you might know just by looking at it um sorry I I'm here all right pasted just below segment yeah it's taking so

long to load from me not only it's an old timey brothel it's like a wild west era Bordello oh man awesome [ __ ] me I can't wait to stay in this place yeah yeah oh man what we I was having a look around and then I saw this and I just went [ __ ] it we're staying here this is magnificent such a shame I'm only there for a couple of nights wow impressive uh you would have been proud of me Dan I uh played a bit of Civ 5 this last week I saw that and what prompted you to play bit of sid5 well I uh I started out I played uh a game called endless space which I bought in a

steam sale and really wanted to play but forgotten about and then for some reason something triggered oh because I was rewatching Star Trek I um I wanted to play Something In Space yeah which the next next gener ation ah sure um I wanted to play something space so I started playing that and it's very much like Civ uh in space well it's obious not the same but it's got like a technology tree and you turn based yeah you you colonize uh planets and systems and stuff you probably like it actually Dan you should check it out um you start out as one civilization in space with one planet in a system and then you move your ships from system to system and you can find up to six planets I think in a system and you can colonize some and as

you unlock new technologies you can colonize new types of planet and then put new tech new um upgrades on the planets to get more resources and stuff and then you encounter other civilizations and then and then you build fleets of ships and stuff to fight them it's really good cool so so I was playing that and it made me think of Civ 5 and then I got really really really uh motivated to play C5 which I did uh and let me just say Napoleon was being a dick so I took care of it yeah [ __ ] that guy there was a there's a situation where I was I was playing Alexander the Great obviously

yeah when I play well any any any of the leaders I play is great but uh I've been playing Alexander the Great since he was still known as Alexander the quite good yeah or just just Alexander that's who's that that's Alexander how is he he's all right he's fine yeah uh yeah so I actually was going to play kind of a peaceful game but uh you know wasn't to be they were jealous of my of my technology and my my power and they brought it on themselves so it was a military victory for me nice was nothing more satisfying than a military Victory well it was a little Hollow I'll say cuz I got to the end and I was like cuz I always do that yeah I I always it'll I'll be St I'll be trying

to play you know like the you know like the space ending or whatever and it'll get to a point where I'm like I'm really far ahead and I've got a lot of units and I Could Just Kill Them All so yeah I uh I won by uh technology Victory once when I shot a rocket into space that also felt quite good yeah that's what I was going for I I did that in the original Civ yeah um are you getting ready for Civ 6 yeah man bring it on I'm ready Sid M I'm [ __ ] ready Sid come on Sid give it to me is he is Sid me still alive well I hope so because I want s 6 well he's not I'm assum he's not making it by himself H names on it sidm I think I own S5 I played it once that one game in one

sitting was like 14 hours and then I haven't turned it back on he's still alive he's 6 62 years old yeah he's not that old no um but yeah so uh you should check out endless space if you get a chance to down it's on Mac uh as well so I think you might like it endless space yeah H looks good uh I mean if it's not endless I I'll be demanding a refund but well it's it's endless in that you can play it again when you finished so every game is endless according to that yeah it's very pretty yep yeah it's good yeah um there's something else you can start playing in October oh yeah finally yeah remember how we're talking about Batman they're remaking them for the Xbox One mhm mhm

well they finally come out with a date for it end of October oh good that's not too far have to get that and give that a go yeah I will I will I mean there's a couple of uh remasters coming out there's the Bioshock remasters coming out like later this week yeah yep buying those I think I've worked out that when I go to America they release a BioShock game well go more often because I want more Skyrim Rems coming out later in the year play through that again yeah yeah speaking of uh interesting announcement this week was uh you know we've got mods in Fallout 4 on the Xbox now we've got U there'll be mods in Skyrim on the Xbox and uh at the time they had announced that they would just be on consoles like PlayStation would

get it as well not anymore they've come out this week and said the PlayStation 4 will not have mods for either of the games and they've given up trying to make it work and apparently it's no no no it it works well Sony won't let them do it Sony being dicks yeah right it's um yeah they basically caught out Sony look we are ready to go we can turn this on now Sony won't aren't doing it yeah right won't let you do it yeah they said they won't let them do whatever they want like users can't just install any mods they want and they said well that's how it works so I guess we're not doing it quote and uh obviously Microsoft has taken the opportunity to uh say oh the XBox is better of

course yeah that mean has anyone actually played a mod yeah I did I I I I we talked about this I I went to look I discovered though that it disables achievements if you if you play with mods so I and I still haven't finished the game so I thought I'll wait um but I did I told you the number one mod when I looked was um was the big tits mod I assume that's still the case I was like oh what mods are there number one make all the girls boobs bigger well that doesn't surprise me I'm pretty sure the first mod for any game is the nud nudity mod yeah do you remember uh Moro wind there was the mod and they got more and more elaborate there was the was the the super high quality nude mod where they had like like physics modeled penises and things that like flop flop

around it's really impressive work yeah so I assume that Stu amazing what they can do I haven't played mods but uh I I have been playing a lot of Fallout 4 this week no one will be surprised uh still waiting for Nuka World which is just still not available yet I don't know really that's out I think it's available elsewhere but oh yeah cuz cuz I've actually started playing Fallout 4 again and and I've got the mission waiting to start to go to n yeah right yeah I need to uh I've been playing it a little bit uh I told last week I told the story of my fun time installing it on my Xbox but uh I've been playing a little bit and I I do want to get the the DLC just cuz some of it looks fun but I've got to pay what is

it like $70 $780 now for it you guys got it cheaper right that's for all of it you don't need to get all of it you only need get two bits of DLC far haror and N world right okay I don't need don't worry about any of the other crap okay that's good well I've got it all because I got the season pass but uh right and I've I've been focusing because obviously I've completed just about every [ __ ] mission in the game small or large but uh so in the last couple of weeks I've built myself a house right all right which was good this is the third place I've lived uh in the Wasteland first I just lived in an abandoned house in uh uh Solitude Solitude Solitude sctu Sanctuary solitude's [ __ ] Skyrim um in yes in

sanctuary uh then I built a a prefab house there on a vacant lot that I lived in for quite some time uh and now I've built myself a beautiful modern style two-story beach front property so yeah I am loving it there I still live in the red rocket GED station just outside Sanctuary where I first set up and you walk in there now and that's where I tell every all my companions just go wait for me there yeah so I go back there every day again and there's just all these people standing there going hey you want me to come with you and no dog meat's coming with me yeah that's pretty much me with Sanctuary I've got a lot of companions there but now that I'm living in uh

town I live I live in Diamond City only my uh oh you got the house in Diamond City yeah no I never got that I do it's a bit annoying though cuz it's like too many load screens away unless you fast travel yeah like yeah that's that's the only thing I don't like about it but the only companion that hangs out uh and i' I've sent her away now because we've gotten the highest level of relationship and she just lies in my bed as the uh the French girl so I'm enjoying i't encounted her yeah oh I just thought I'm actually excited about playing Skyrim again I can try and find my wife you're the same wife you're going to find the same wife I'm going to find the same wife well the problem I had is cuz we all married the same girl did yeah that's right the original one yeah but

when I married her I went we got married and I went okay I'm going to go off an adventure I'll catch you later and then I never saw her again I want to find her again what do you mean you never saw her again you never went back to her I think she died on the way back to town oh mine just just lived in my house for years and years yeah yeah mine I could never find her again a so she didn't she didn't show up at your house everywhere did you search her house yeah did you search your house yes I mean that seems obvious not find her that's a sad story quite sad I could find her again finally uh I wanted to mention this week that Jenner and I play we can do this in was it what we call this thing last week [ __ ] corner or um no Luke

gets bored weord it yep yeah this is where we talk about we talk about board games and stuff this isn't really a board game but it's uh it's role playing we played um the new Fantasy Flight Star Wars RPG uh which is you know kind of like Dungeons and Dragons uh we played the force and Destiny one I've talked to you guys about this before I don't know if we've talked about on the show um cuz I want to play with you guys did though cuz I want to play with you guys I'm definitely in for that and I want to record it and and we'll put it up on the specials Channel if you guys are up for it oh we're up for so uh so for those who don't know Fantasy Flight took over the Star Wars license for um role playing games from Wizards of the Coast who do Dungeons and

Dragons Fantasy Flight has it now and there's three different uh I guess books or different games a part of it one is Edge of the Empire which is about all the Smugglers and uh you know like criminals and bounty hunters and things there's there's age of rebellion which is about uh the the Imperials and the rebels and then there's force and Destiny which is about Jedi and Sith and and that kind of thing and so we play through a starter game of force and Destiny uh with with a friend and yeah it's pretty good what it's really good uh I was a bit skeptical about it cuz it you know we we've played D and D before and I'm sure sure a lot of people are familiar with d andd you know you roll dice you get a number and then the number determines whether you

succeed or fail in what you're trying to do you familiar with that yep well this is different it's got custom dice which at first pissed me off because I was like I don't want [ __ ] custom dice but it's actually really good because the way it works is you have a few dice that represent your ability right which would be success or failure in D and D but then you add other dice in to represent setbacks or advantages or uh other things and so when you roll you can succeed but also have a a negative effect right so if you're trying to um hit somebody on the head right to knock them out and you roll you can succeed but then something bad happens right so

you hit him on the head he falls down and alerts the other guards kind of thing it's way more Dynamic oh interesting yeah it's really cool so like again and you can you can fail with positive effects so say you try and hit him on the head you fail so you trip over but you knock him off a cliff or something like that like as you so it's I mean it's kind of up to the DM the game master uh and you to to be creative and figure out how to interpret what happens but I think it's going to be really fun especially it seem it's much more um cuz I feel like the way we would play it the way you guys in particular would play play it is not very technical we're not going to be rolling the dice and arguing over numbers we're going to be arguing over [ __ ] hilarious [ __ ]

that's happening so and I feel like I feel like this is going to work better for that so if you guys are up for it I want to get the the uh I I assume you guys will want to play as Smugglers or bounty hunters or something right sounds good or what's your preference yeah I probably would be a Smuggler yeah that that's what I was thinking I didn't think uh I mean we could play as the rebels and and that or we could uh or Imperials or Jedi but I figured Smugglers and bounty hunters is probably going to be more suitable for the weird [ __ ] we're going to get up to in the game so it gets so weird I know it is so I'll I'll get the starter game for it because that's the other thing I've never played a role playing game from uh a book before like it's kind of a preset

story but you can elaborate on it which obviously we will um but it's actually it was a really good introduction to the game and so I think it's a good idea for us to do that and uh so I'll organize that and I feel like it'll also definitely I think that would be cool because even if we were able to do sort of something like that once every month or every second month or something cuz it's going to take longer than one city yeah and I feel like it'll be entertaining and it'll be a good introduction for listeners maybe who aren't familiar with that kind of game and interested because it's a lot of fun and I like I don't know I highly recommend people check it out it's it's so much fun uh if you're a you know creative storytelling kind of

person it's [ __ ] awesome uh time to bring bigs out of retirement big wari yep he will be by Smuggler how about you Matt you're GNA be Rand well I'm going to be the game master so I'll be everybody who you aren't basically so maybe maybe Rando will show up so uh I'll I'll get the starter pack and I'll let I'll uh let you guys know what you need to do to get started I figured it probably easier if I just ask you vaguely what you want your characters to be and then I'll figure it out cuz send you some character sheets cuz you probably don't care that enough to to read the whole book oh I care do you I care very much yeah well all right get the uh get the book and uh and create a character I will pick it up when I'm over in America

because it'll probably be cheaper there yeah it is they're about 30 bucks here as opposed to 100 I'll pick it up while I'm there I bought uh I bought the D the the dungeon Masters Guide the monster manual and the curse of strad uh books for D and for Dungeons and Dragons uh all of those would be probably about $100 each uh in Australia I think uh and there were I think 25 each here so depressing I was I was only going to buy one and then I looked on Amazon and I was like holy [ __ ] just added them all to my cart yeah cuz you got to buy one because you're hading in your head it was going to be 100 then when you find out you can buy all of them yep that's right cuz I want to run curse of strad at some point too um but I that that kind of needs to

be done in person so I don't think we can do it so I have to forced to play with people here I guess but uh yeah so I ended up behind all of them oh hang on you haven't you didn't talk about a board game Luke oh um I didn't actually get around to playing it but I did read the rules for Star Wars carcassone Star Wars carcassone play it either so that's good um I'm really looking forward to playing this now cuz it's actually it's now with the original Carone you're just a farmer and way you go yeah in this one you actually can be different characters and you've got Boba Fett Luke Darth Vader but who you pick also depends on sort of effects how the game is played as well right in the

original Carone you know if you got a little symbol on it that just meant that that we with worst two and you got extra points this one it affects how many dice you can roll what so if you start building a city and you're Luke Skywalker and you have the little Rebel Alliance symol on there and then someone else bu tries to build onto that city as well in kazone Just Go who had the most people on it gets the points or if you tied you Shar this you roll and fight to see who gets to keep the town oh that's pretty interesting so it's actually kind of a different game yeah that's cool so what would happen is I was Luke and I had the rebel L I would get two dice to roll against your one

right but if you if I it was I was Luka had the Imperial symbol I would still just get the one dice yeah and I would get two because I would also be I would always play as Darth Vader yes of course yeah but no um it's yeah it's not just kazone with Star Wars pasted on the front it's actually adds a lot more to the game I find that's cool that's cool um yeah I think get yeah I think it's going to be a great game once I eventually play it with my hundreds of other games I still need to play well I'll try and play it as well and also maybe we can play it when you're here um yeah I was thinking that five player game there'll be five of us so we we were asked to talk about board games a bit um so but I don't know do

you do you play board games Dan play any board games uh can't say I really make time for board games to be honest okay all right cool I don't want to don't want to exclude you from a segment uh so I don't know have to try and come up with a way to include you in the uh in the board game segment sure perhaps uh perhaps you've got to convince me to play them that's and that's on you yeah well actually when you get here no deal I'll just have to make sure by the time you get here I've already got my gun and then that'll probably be pretty easy yeah well let's see right as an American that's all for this week thank you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please subscribe and iTunes to receive episodes
