just because they film a lot it the rock is really nice and so he got the DAT I like bet all these other celebrities were like um I'm also in that film yeah just uh just quietly yeah I think he new film skyscraper he actually also brought a kid out to the show to feed him all the candy he wanted because um this kid was drowning to feed him all the candy you wanted y so the rock is like as much candy as The Rock wants to feed this kid I thought the kid had to feed the rock candy anytime he wanted all right I'll explain exactly what happened which is it luk it is so important for us to know this got to be one of those ridiculous scenarios they're all ridiculous two-year-old child falls in the pool starts drowning eight or

10-year-old brother sees it pulls brother out gives Mouse to mouth brings him back like but when he said where did he learn to do that he learned it from a rock movie a movie that The Rock was in so Wayne being the awesome guy he is invited him out to the shoot and his family and went you can have all the candy you want to eat wow and I will feed it to you when I feel like it like he's he's in he's doing the movie and the kids's like rock I need some candy and he's like sorry guys i' I've got to cut again got to give this kid some candy um Can this week's episode be called Mouse to Mouse yes but I like I like how Luke Nar that as if he was an old timey newspaper

reporter Yeah Boy Falls in pool boy Falls in pool brother 10 saves child Rock feeds candy and now at Terrence and Phillip sorry also yeah exactly we've come full circle with the Canadian [ __ ] and also foreshadowed for later this episode when we no doubt talk about South Park ah yes and you said you had nothing to open the show with that was fantastic it just came to me very good as the rock often does to feed you candy I'd let him feed me candy he'll just come to you well nothing nothing involving the rock happened to me uh this week but I was filming I was filming some children's content yesterday for Ben 10 you know the show Ben 10 oh yeah cool you're filming isn't that a cartoon yeah I wasn't filming the show B 10 I was

filming content for online uh for the network that benen is on to point back towards their show Ben some content anyway I was filming with some kids right and we were working on all these different scenarios that these little kids could act out situations where Ben Ten could get someone out of trouble right and we' done one where Ben Ten uh saved someone from their purse being snatched we did one where he stopped someone falling down the stairs and we were looking to do one more and there was a tree that had this curved branch that was basically horizontal right and I said that looks cool we could film something around this you know there's a cat stuck up the tree or a kite or something benen has to help him get it down and as we were

discussing this the little kid actor that plays ban 11 years old walks over to us and with so much earnesty just went you guys mind if I make a suggestion and we're like no and he just goes to us what if someone was committing suicide by hangings from that tree and Ben 10 comes in at the last minute saves their life and we're like [ __ ] hell man this is what kids think about these days this is the world we live in now Jesus but you know what see b in a wall God it got dark that would be the one ad that all the other kids would be like yeah that's right no you know how we always think that like maybe we remember Star Wars being a little bit more serious than we do because you know it was the first time we encountered a lot

of themes that are actually pretty hokey but Star Wars was what taught us those things so we we think it's the most serious version of that if there was an episode of Ben 10 where someone had hung thems and Ben Ten came in at the last minute and convinced them not to commit suicide then that really would be you know the episode that you talked about right into your adulthood I wonder if that's what happened back when they were making Degrassi Jr High and some little kid came up and said I got a suggestion yeah what if that guy's got AIDS and then they get into a fight and then he do you want to get get the blood on me well I remember the first cartoon that made me deal with death was it robote it was Robotech fer when he died

yeah wow Robotech was the cartoon that made me know that I wanted a girlfriend were you a ly mid May or Lisa Lisa hay be completely honest with you I don't remember anyone's name but there was one character who had a girl friend who did two things that I thought were pretty cool on his birthday she gave him a cake and they kissed above the cake and at one point he fell asleep and she put a blanket over him and I remember thinking having a girlfriend be nice that's right I'm a simple guy with simple taste yeah so ladies send in your audition tapes bake a cake and then position a blanket on a human yeah that's right it's not a small human at that it's not difficult yeah I don't take up much room so you don't need much of a blanket yeah

so you tell me Luke you based on that description of my memory of a show that I saw over 30 years ago you uh you got any idea who I'm talking about I I think you're thinking Lin Min May okay well she sounds hot y she used to see I I literally only remember the cake and the blanket and robots that's like little little Dam robots girlfriend are pretty cool yeah that's right I'm like that's why you have a girlfriend I don't I haven't got cake she brings a cake on your birthday and when you fall asleep on the couch she covers you up with a blanket that's really nice awesome years later I discovered [ __ ] and I'm like well now I really want a [Laughter] girlfriend yeah that that wasn't in the show it might have been the original version probably in the Japanese version

except you're not allowed to show a penis you can show literally anything going into a vagina in Japan but you can't show a penis and that's why we have tentacle porn guys something weird happened to me this week M mhm in 2017 just 3 years off from turning 40 I've gotten really into Limp Biscuit okay which album or is it just all of Limp Biscuit the the super early stuff and then the really try hard stuff they came out with later in their career I've just been listening to a lot of lim biscuit did you did you miss out on it at the time I wasn't a super fan at the time I was aware of you know Nookie right yeah yeah but that wasn't really floating my boat to be honest cuz I liked them quite a lot when I was a teenager I went and saw them a couple of

times uh and I mean it's been a while since I uh since I listened to the to the I actually just listened to their first album like last week oh $3 bill y' well there you go man so did I I guess I'm going to have to listen to it I always that that's just a great that's great music to drive to yeah especially when you want to drive a little bit faster I don't know it's cool hate on them but at the time I thought they were pretty damn good man not even at the time like honest to God counterfeit is a [ __ ] classic track yep they do the best cover of Faith ever well see that's the other thing on you Nookie and on you faith and I was like yeah I'll just keep listening to Metallica yeah well and corn at the same time as Lim biscuit obviously yeah corn

Ramstein is around that time started I never a fan of ramstone oh man Ramone are great Rob Zombie around that time too oh yeah yeah you know what when I actually at that same age yeah g you know who was my favorite of all of those you know they they coined that term new medal right new medal um was Popa roach oh yeah and they pretty much suck I mean let's be honest but like they [ __ ] got to me man they don't suck they weren't exactly renowned put it that way you they got they got yeah I think there's a new album out now they had one out a couple years ago they're still they're still around [ __ ] man well you know what if I'm So Into Limp Biscuit I'll probably be into the

be upset by this okay well it's my goal to upset you speaking of robots oh yes we've got some followup followup from long long ago yes cuz it took this long for it to actually happen well exactly building a robot doesn't happen overnight it takes a solid weekend to build a robot yeah but they already had the robots and these don't look like the robots I was expecting no no so if if you're lost which you should be because no one's explained what we're talking about oh what's new on a on a previous episode we reported on the ultimate Grudge Match America versus Japan robot to robot yeah uh and the results are in they have uh they have fought the American robot has

fought the Japanese robot and the winner was declared about 10 seconds into the match when one robot just drove into the other robot and knocked it over and Matt that wasn't the end though this is the [ __ ] thing they then went on to have another match and America had two robots that's cheating so yep okay so they were eliminated yeah so before we go on M I'm sorry to say as a new American this probably outsets you but uh now look it was not America that won I mean I did not expect America to beat Japan when it came robot to giant robots exactly because Japan as everyone knows is good at robots yes yep that's what they do

they've been doing this [ __ ] since the 80s probably earlier yeah I mean they were building Astro boys back in the day you know exactly replacement children that's what as was wasn't he damn that yeah it's a very sad story actually you know the story yeah it's hor the Japanese robot just comes up punches at one punch America goes down yeah but then America come out with their second robot which is about three times bigger and has guns and then what happened and then I didn't get to the end of the video but I'm pretty sure the American Won Won that is a pretty good update then yeah but to be fair in the uh in the opening round of the match the American robot just stood there while the Japanese robot raised

its mechanical Fist and then just made a beline for it when it was about a centimeter away the American robot shot some kind of missile at it which missed it entirely and he just got punch straight onto the ground I mean one thing I found quite funny like the Japanese one standard punch and the America was just yep we've got rockets on it yeah and yet Rockets yeah punch beated rocket though yeah it's go to show karate wins against missile launchers yeah y that's why the classic blunder is never get involved in a land war in Asia that's right I never understood that line I I realized recently I think he's talking about Vietnam right yeah no no robots giant robots yeah you're right they're talking about this clearly the

one thing I didn't like about these robots is they're just on Wheels they should have legs I want them walking yeah yeah yeah yeah they kind of they have got walking robots now uh they can do that but I I assume it's probably I mean this thing's on Wheels is more stable like if I had Wheels it would be harder for you to knock me over if I had four wheels I'd try yeah I'm sure you would actually you know what that might not even be true no I think if you in your car it' be easy it would be much more difficult to knock you over oh yeah good point yeah I think yeah as long as you got a wide wheel base you've got the widest wheel base ever thanks Denny you're welcome so that's uh giant robot news Japan kicked our butt Y and Australia stayed NE

yeah like it should so um I guess this means that uh you guys are even now for like World War II right I guess so yeah because I mean you dropped two a bombs onto um civilian cities no I didn't but their robot punched your robot that's true Welly they they bomb pear har Stevens they bombed Pearl Harbor not with an a bomb though I don't I don't know I wasn't there I don't know could have been for all I know I was there I went to Japan I was it PE har speaking of World War II yeah so uh Matt it it's become clear in the media lately more than ever that America is

actually believe it or not full of Nazis yeah which makes a video game like Wolfenstein uh what's it called Wolfenstein 2 the new must have a tagline The New Colossus Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus it makes the irony of a game that is a speculative history setting where the Nazis won the war and they've taken over America right it makes it a little less science fiction I guess now that we know there's tons of Nazis not only that the actual Nazis that are there are offended they're offended by this game and specifically they're offended by the marketing campaign right which tried to put out # no more Nazis right

and # not my America yeah yeah uh but that is that has angered right the internet Because the Internet is Nazis as far as I can tell and they've started they've started responding to the Hashtags with this oh wow what a clever marketing trip tapping into hysterical leftist power fantasy so current so subtly political wow go [ __ ] yourself so uh you know mhm we we now have to be so PC that you're not even allowed to pretend you hate Nazis oh I said that wrong that came out wrong yeah cuz you well you were just admitting that you only pretend to hate them well how can I hate you Matt yeah so you played I know you've played a little bit of uh the New Order yeah the

Wolfenstein the New Order and uh probably enough to know that I don't think anyone really wants to identify with the the Nazis in those games like no and not only that whatever your whatever their weird conception of what Nazis are that makes them think it's good to be one I doubt it's what H what the depiction of Nazis in the games is but I think that's their point mat I think the Nazis are saying they have been misrepresented in this game in the same way that the Chinese felt misrepresented in the game we reported on last week dirty Chinese Kitchen well that is that is an interesting development because we're going to have # not all Nazis coming out soon God oh no oh God that could actually be a thing that's that's that's

sad that's quite depressing I am interested to hear their argument well well I think some of them don't even know I guarantee some of them don't even know it's a game and they're actually just thinking that they're they want to get rid of all the Nazis they're just being political when they come out with that thing and what do these people what do these people advertising think Nazis are like what do they think I don't understand like well Luke and I uh Luke and I actually had a very detailed conversation about this on the podcast two weeks ago and then decided to remove the entire thing so I think the last thing we should do is is open reopen that can of worms right okay let's just but I do want to say discuss it it won't

make the episode I do want to ask has anyone seen the man in the High Castle no I really want to because I just watched season 2 that's on Amazon [ __ ] I don't know man I watched it in Italy it's on Amazon yes it's great guys if you if you want to watch a show where the Nazis are pretty much the good guys then uh then this is the show for you maybe that's what's happened they've watched the show and been like oh I was wrong about them yeah Rufus seel is actually quite a good guy Nazis I'm not even looking forward to the game Wolfenstein I am I've been playing through uh the the old blood which is the prequel to the New Order

they they good games I like them so it was old blood and now New Order there was the New Order New Colossus it's either an old thing or a new thing exactly yeah we play a little bit of uh The New Colossus at E3 and it was pretty fun I had the common dance strawberry milkshake and I played the game in A din they had set up in there oh well that's that's kind of awesome yeah it was going to get to play cool stuff at P next week that's true you are oh yeah that means you're not going to be on the show next week I guess then I might be it will depend on the internet access at the hotel oh so I might be here I might not but you'll hear lots of fun stuff from me from pxs hang on it's late Sunday night though are you staying an extra night yeah okay because it finishes at

have a picture of the train itself yeah I'm trying to find one but that did they really name trains is that has that always been a thing probably not but it's good publicity right no no no no trains always have names do you guys remember the uh the fish and the chips oh yes yes the names of the express trains between penrith and the city first stop param I did not know that I've caught those trains I did not know that they were called that yeah if you got the old I mean they probably don't anymore [ __ ] maybe they do I don't know but if you got the old train timetable and the train timetable used to be written on paper uh it was the fish and the chips

and then they made them purple yeah I mean I I assume the fish is named after the um psychelic prog rock band from uh from the 70s and chips is named after the uh the cop show from the from the 80s yeah yeah total coincidence have you guys I know you have have you but have you guys played South Park the fractured butthole a bit Yeah I played it a bit um I've played it so much that I've completed it 100% okay H right okay so you liked it then um wasn't as good as the first one and I think it went on a little bit too long but I absolutely loved it and I'm looking forward to the DLC okay that's good okay I've uh I've only played a little bit of it uh just because I haven't had much time and also it's all right I haven't been uh I

haven't been dying to play it well put it this way I played it for a bit I obviously downloaded it overnight on the night it came out played it a bit the next day which was day off here and I assumed that's all I would do and by the afternoon I was playing Black Flag again which by the way I'm also kind of getting a little bit bored of yeah no I think um the way I I just enjoyed it felt like I was watching an episode again I think I haven't watched South Park in a very long time and I there's a lot of stuff in there that I think is an in joke and I think that's where you you might be struggling with it because a lot of that stuff is straight from the episodes even the episode that came out just before the game was released led into the game right yeah I think I'm

missing out a little bit cuz like I'm just not quite understanding some of the Jokes which is a shame which jokes the jokes about farting or the jokes about your mom [ __ ] your dad or the jokes about I mean it's no I got I I understand those ones no it's just me like you know you around people's houses and there's like you know like you you find people talking about stuff and then all like you know you open the cup and there's stuff in there I'm like I don't know what any of this is yeah fair enough oh the stuff that's in the cupboards you just just click okay just keep moving yeah I know I have been it is sort of funny if you you do read some of the stuff but you don't need to it

doesn't mean anything yeah it is a little I do like it how it's different to the first game with the combat and everything yeah well cuz I already played that game so I'm glad not the same game uh although I did do you know what annoyed me I pre-ordered it just cuz I wanted to have it ready to go cuz I was excited to play it uh and it came with a free copy of the Stick of Truth which is a game that I liked except you don't get the Stick of Truth until the day this comes out and I was like well that's stupid like why wouldn't you give it to me immedi pre-order online or the store uh on the on my Xbox okay you should have got it earlier no it said it actually says it will it'll unlock on the same day as the the game unlocks oh okay cuz I got my copy

of it like in April interesting so I'd already played and finished the Stick of Truth on the Xbox one I I've played and finished it before but it's actually better that you didn't get it so soon cuz otherwise you'd just be playing the same G again straight away yeah and you wouldn't be able to do it yeah it's like how Dan remember when you played Tomb Raider yeah well was Matt one of you went from one TOA straight to the next one uh that was Dan I think too much of the same thing Dan yeah yeah Y and I think that's what ruined the second one for you a little bit yeah which is why I probably won't be playing the new Assassin's Creed as soon as it comes out yeah but at least with that one I think with the new Assassin's Creed is

going to be uh completely different game plus music by Creed so yeah did you guys ever the Assassin's Creed movie no I I saw it on a flight I saw it on a flight too Fu was terrible awful but bass Bender did a great job like he is he is great he's a good actor man and he can be in a [ __ ] movie and still be pretty good but yeah man the movie was yeah like you said luk they just [ __ ] it was a missed opportunity yeah it's I don't know why they can't get video games across to movies but also I don't know why they have to try and make it different to the game every time well like just I mean it's a movie not a game no no no no but what I mean is like why

you got Assassin's Creed and you have um the ETO storyline is probably one of the better story lines out of the entire game series people know it make it that make it the Etso story I think their reasoning is probably that people have seen that yeah but only people who play video games they're trying to wider Market as well but people also just do want to see no I know what you mean but but you by making a new story you cover both because people that like the games will see the film and people that don't know the games will see the film whereas and they'll just all hate it well they did all hate it but it doesn't matter if they went and saw it if they paid their money it doesn't

matter true but it should matter I I completely agree with you but it doesn't there's an article this week about South Park the fractur butthole uh apparently some people were finding that their videos of it on YouTube you know the Let's Plays and and and videos that were putting up were being demonetized uh because of content and some of them were being removed H and it's mostly just because that's what the the game is so apparently YouTube uh they they've kind of been non-committal in saying uh it's probably probably right and if you think it's a mistake you know you can you can appeal it um the system might pick up on the content as offensive but I mean also there probably is stuff in

well there definitely is stuff in this game that violates the term I've sent you photos of stuff that was wrong yeah so I think yeah this is I guess if you're a if you're a streamer or you're a you're making let's plays on uh YouTube or whatever maybe just uh be a bit careful with with the South Park game cuz it might get you flagged for uh for offensive content yeah which I don't it does I can understand it a little bit but like I can understand I don't think there's anything too bad in it well that's because you're not offended by anything and neither are we there that but I mean if if it's one it's one thing to say that you're going to withdraw advertisers that have

requested to not be associated with uh content right like my friend Doug has a has a web comic that um makes enough Revenue each week to pay his rent and uh I know I know that comic that's actually quite a popular comic on Reddit yeah it's it's a great comic [ __ ] can't remember what it's called right now olff olff that's right oglu which you can find at og.com uh but he says anytime there's a dick in it he doesn't get paid basically because if he draws a dick The Advertiser go no not this week which is their prerogative yeah exactly right and and sometimes if Doug just really wants the cash he won't draw any dicks and when he

doesn't really give a [ __ ] and he wants a dick in his comic strip that week he puts a dick in when Once he's worked out the rent's paid I'm putting a dick in yeah that's right he doesn't have to put a dick in to get the rent PID which is good there's a fair few dicks a fair few story lines revolver and digs too there's this uh there's this one character who's had a curse put on him that he's not allowed to ejaculate um and every time he does ejaculate this little glob of [ __ ] runs back to the witch that put the spell on him and tells her it's a it's pretty funny yeah it's generally yeah it's very popular on on on Reddit I so people started posting them all the time and I was like oh hey yeah okay I have a question how does one use

Reddit you uh you go on there and click on things of interest and look at them and then you can go in and comment on them look it's it's it's not it's not a dumb question because I go to Reddit occasionally and I only go through Google if I've Googled for some Topic in specific and there's a there's something on Reddit about it right but in terms of just going on Reddit and like looking for things it's not very user friendly unless you're already used to forums like that right I guess maybe I am I I go to it I've just gone there now and I'm just I have no idea what I'm looking at well if you're on the front page you are looking at what people have voted to be the most interesting content right now right people are stupid yes my husband cooked a giant

meatball stuffed with spaghetti how is that up voted because it's interesting not interesting clearly it is obviously interesting enough that people on Reddit think it's it's worth putting it on the front page yeah I don't get the internet you basically like submit you can submit something and everyone if you go like if you go to the tab that says new you'll see all the stuff that was recently submitted and then people see what you submitted and if they they'll comment on it and then they give you an up Vote or a down vote based on whether they think it's good or [ __ ] basically that's how it works and then the really good stuff will uh will end up on the front page I me in theory that's how it works there's some gaming of the system and

stuff I assume happens and then you got subreddits which are only about specific topics for example um subscribe to the Star Wars subreddit and one of the top articles uh second from the top in the Star Wars subreddit is a page from one of the recent comic books where bb8 canonically has a girlfriend in the universe and you know why I bet he had a girlfriend cuz he watched Robotech exactly right which I think he'd like mhm look speaking of Star Wars if we're going to continue talking about Star Wars we should play the jingle I think we're always likely to talk about Star Wars so iTunes is being a [ __ ] pain in the ass here we go oh who would have

Mak should go back to that like books aren't in there anymore they've split the books out cuz that makes sense cuz [ __ ] stuff doesn't all go together yeah podcasts have into their own app which can I just say I I still used the podcast app or at least I did until last week when I updated the new podcast app on Apple is [ __ ] horrendous it it was so easy to manage podcasts before it was a great app and now it is a [ __ ] dog's breakfast I use overcast overco okay I'm writing it down because I am about honest to God guys honest to [ __ ] God this is the last iphone I'm getting I may switch to a Galaxy next time my God yeah like like there is

[Music] jingle well maybe I don't get a beat in my Bonnet that often anymore so don't seem to yeah it's a shame I'm on medication for that now so all right Star Wars news Star Wars news there a couple of bits of Star Wars news today uh mostly revolving around Han Solo's Solo movie which is called solo yeah which I don't know to me it's it's a bit boring am only one that thinks that I mean it's so on the nose I mean look it's a perfectly valid title like yeah it is but it's so on the nose that it was almost like why did you make us wait for that and then reveal that like yeah

you know if it was going to be called solo you could have just said that from the start yeah that's it's fine it's fine the shortest Star Wars name ever even shorter than the original Star Wars before A New Hope was added it's true yeah it's fine it'll do so we yeah yeah they're still going to make a billion dollar off it look they're going to make they're going to make money off me because I'm I'm really legitimately interested in this now and I I'm doubly interested because of the controversy with the the fire directors yeah well they've just finished filming yep they have so now it's just got several years of pre-production post production oh I think it's coming out December next year

isn't it yeah I think so yep here yeah I can wait that long because we're going to have a little uh going to have one in between that's right last one called The Last Jedi yeah which I assume means this the last one right yeah so we had a conversation off air a couple of weeks ago about tag and [ __ ] but I don't think we actually talked about it on the podcast uh be that as it may two characters from the extended Universe uh tag and [ __ ] who appear in several comic books have now officially been added to the cannon by being confirmed to be characters in The Han Solo solo movie solo so it's good which is is pretty cool cuz tag and big they were comic books mostly weren't they they were only comic books and basically the whole

thing was a ripoff of Rosen Cranson Gilden sterer dead which was a very very famous play by Tom stard which is the story of Hamlet told by the two least significant characters in the play Rosen CR and Gilden Stern and the the play very very funnily um makes it so that all the big events that happen in the play all the plot points are actually caused by them and not the main characters it's very clever somebody did that with Star Wars as well and you'll find that so many of the big plot points that happen in all of the Star Wars movies all all were actually caused by tag and [ __ ] so they're they're great fun characters and we're going to get to see them now in what capacity we don't know background

yeah I'm assuming it's one of those if you know that's tag and [ __ ] when you see those two dudes then you'll know and if you don't they're just two dudes in the background Woody harlson calls solo one of the funniest Star Wars movies oh good yeah one of the funniest which one is currently the funniest yeah I was worried it wouldn't be a laugh Riot I would say say that the force awakens is probably the funniest I mean that that might be fine it's just a weird thing to say about it it's true that's what people were waiting for like especially if I mean how did he say it like when they were like is it good did he go well it's certainly the funniest Star Wars movie yeah that's right yeah again it might be fine it's just a weird thing to say and then have no

context yeah weird yeah I mean how funny is it is it like a laugh a minute like are we expecting that from Star Wars and I'll tell you this Schindler's List 2 is definitely the funniest film in the series wow more Nazi jokes okay yeah also probably I'm not really say I'm not Star Wars is not not really on the same level as Shindler list I just realized that that's a not really a fair comparison let's be honest can anyone say they prefer Schindler's List to Star Wars no they can't no no no probably not no Liam Nan maybe it's a fine film I bet

even Liam nean le le Lian [ __ ] I'm gonna get a song written about me now I bet even Liam Nissan knows Star Wars is a better movie than chind list I think not the one he was in I think he would prefer Schindler's List oh to that one specifically yeah yeah yeah you asked him what's the best what's the better film you've been in he'd be he St list yeah sticking with Star Wars news EA are doing very silly things because remember how EA brought the license for Star Wars video games yeah for like 10 years I think they got it for they've got about four years left of it and at the moment they've released one game yeah well two two games soon deon's about to come out y but one

they've been working on for a while but visceral's been making for them they just shut that down yeah and I was looking forward to this game what was the reason from what I've been reading and hearing it's because they just didn't like the direction it was taking oh okay it's vague and yeah it's really vague and the shoot at it is sort of handing it over to they they make like sports games like Madden and hockey and all they're taking from the game is the assets not any of the story and they're going to sort of start from scratch pretty much it just seems really strange timing because if they're starting from scratch you're looking at another two to three years and their license is going to be up

soon so yeah I think EA have made them bit of a mistake it seems like a lot of single player games are being shot down and then just trying to make everything like a multiplayer thing which that doesn't work yeah I don't well I mean becomes multiplayer there's you it's the way I look at it is um World of Warcraft that's the MMO that everyone that everyone plays people tried to come along and emulate that and then they end up making no money they make enough money but not a lot of money and then they go away yeah and that's what will end up happening with all the multiplayer games man I'm still in the cam I loved Warcraft and I [ __ ] hated of Warcraft most of my favorite games of

late are the ones that didn't sell well because they single player Adventure kind of things like prey and and and Mankind divided and all those kind of single player experiences that I don't know it just I don't know I want I don't want that to go away I don't want everything to be a freaking multiplayer thing like I like some of those multiplayer games but I don't want them all to be like that no my favorites cuz I don't I get bored playing multiplayer I I really do cuz you're just playing the same Maps over and over and over and there's no you're not really doing anything yeah so don't do it give me a good Star Wars game all right a good single player story that's all I want yeah there all right I'll give you one TIE fighter

X-Wing yeah I have them I want a new one I want a new pretty one all right fine I was going to sayit the Old Republic you probably already got that yes that he was playing games with four achievements all right it's time for spoilers I think yeah all right cuz we're coming coming up Hano die okay so seriously before we answer any questions we're serious there's going to be spoilers for Blade Runner okay if for some reason you what we thought of the film and you just want to know whether you should go see it yeah go [ __ ] see it it's like the best film really good unless you don't like good films in which case just do whatever yeah should we also just be

the Nexus 6 had a artificially reduced lifespan there were earlier models and later models that did not so what was he well uh we could talk about that spoiler let's go what's happening what happened well I'll tell you okay spoiler is don't know yeah they don't tell you and you know what that's a [ __ ] good stance for them because the the way that the first film kept it ambiguous is the way the second film also continues to keep it ambiguous and it's nice it's nice not knowing I mean there's certain arguments that you could make for one or the other but it's nice not to actually know it's nice to think about a movie outside the cinema I'm glad I went into Blade Runner 2049 not really knowing the

plot I didn't look up much stuff I'd seen the trailers but the trailers didn't really tell you anything about it and I was because it wasn't even until like I I mean this is it's not really a spoiler because I guess maybe they maybe everybody knew this but I didn't I didn't know that um Kay Ryan Gosling's character was a replicant no neither did I and and he knows he's one and everyone else knows he's one as well yeah but and then I didn't I found out when Dave Batista smashed a wall with his face and I was like holy [ __ ] like how is he alive and then he stabs him in the arm and I was like he's a [ __ ] replicant yeah and then yeah and then he gets teased about it later yeah they call him a piece of [ __ ] skin Skinner and stuff like that yeah you're a skin job yeah

now did Rachel make it it's just like weird do we want to do it this way let's just discuss it and then and then at the end we luk can ask [ __ ] random question through all the spoilers yeah so uh so Dave Batista was great in it by the way yeah I [ __ ] legitim great right that was the that whole opening was [ __ ] fantastic but you know what that is right that's a deleted scene from the original Blade Runner script that was the opening of the original Blade Runner really and they ended up cutting it not before they uh so they cut it before they shot it they just cut it from the script huh yeah so at the start of the film Luke uh K played by Ryan goling

flies his you know police who was a blade run by the way yeah he's a Blade Runner but he's in this he's a replicant like they made they made replicants to hunt down other replicants which makes sense best way to do it yeah and so he flies out to a protein Farm in the middle of nowhere in California to retire Dave Batista's character who it's a Russian name I forget his name and they have a fight and then and then and then that's kind of where the mystery kicks off because he finds something buried underground and it happens to be some bones and and they investigate the bones and they determine that it was a female who died in child birth and then K Zooms in and there's a

serial number on the cells uh on the bone replicants giving birth to children yep so who do we know that's [ __ ] a replicant Harrison Ford not Rick Deckard Harrison Ford Harrison Ford yeah so that's how the mystery all kicks off and [ __ ] I really feel like the the cuz I love Blade Runner right but as a detective kind of film it it's like a little lacking he doesn't do a does detect he does one bit of detecting with the scale then he just a of people but in in 2049 the reveal of the mystery is

so good and like and there's some uh some and they reveal it staggered as well yeah and and you have to you take it in like it's not like blatant it gives you time to like process what you're seeing and there are parts of it like I don't want to um I'm assuming everyone listening has probably seen it and so I'm sorry if I'm being vague about it but no no remember don't be vague we've given everyone the warnings turn off go for it so Kay has memories right but they're fake in theory because he's a replicant he knows he's a replicant so he assumes that his memories are fake he talks about it and he says yeah I I remember things but it's not real uh and he has a memory of when he was a little kid and he had a wooden horse and all the other kids wanted it so they they

chased him around this orphanage and he hit it in a furnace and he has then they beat the [ __ ] out of him but as far as he knows they never found it and then later on in the film he goes to an orphanage to investigate this child of the replicant and then like it's it's kind of obvious but like it's not it doesn't like beat you over the head with it as he's walking around you're like this is the [ __ ] place in his dream in his memory and then you see like they they teased his uh his kind of his facial expressions in the trailers because it's it seems like he's fairly blank in in a lot of the shots in the trailers and stuff but I think like it works because he becomes emotional as

things go on like it really works like he's designed to be kind of flat and emotionless and as the film goes on and he's just getting [ __ ] like confused about what the hell is going on he becomes more emotional and then he um yeah he's walking around this place he goes and and you see him Wander over to the furnace and he finds the horse in there and you're like the [ __ ] but like that whole sequence it's like 10 minutes but it's like thrilling yeah great like there's no explosions or anything like that it's just [ __ ] Ryan goling there not even any talking man it's a guy looking for something real slowly just really slowly walking through this thing and you and I was just like like it's it's done so well like I

guess probably it's boring for people who weren't on board but like and then even when he he gets the he gets the little cloth wrapped thing out of the furnace and he's like slowly unwrapping it and and I just like it's tense as [ __ ] for me was so good so does that mean he is a replicant but he did have those memories so he is the dead child well where do the memories come from that's the next step in the puzzle in fact and we skipped a few steps actually in the puzzle if you want us to talk about the the whole plot and we just run through the plot I guess we could do that but I really recommend you go watch it Luke I do too Luke and I recommend you go watch it with at least some

mystery yeah okay in that it's a mystery yeah yeah that's the point of the film and in answer to your earlier question Rachel is in it well Rachel didn't make it I know you told me now she is in it though yeah she is I will say uh I've seen it twice now and I don't like there doesn't seem there don't seem to be any there's no plot holes or anything as far as I can tell which is nice um there were a couple things that confused me the first time but I I kind of figured those out mhm um the and like CU after I saw the first time I was like well hang on cuz he he knows where decade is because of the radiation on the the the the horse thing but then the horse how was he already in that place

and then gave the horse to the kid I was like how the [ __ ] does that all work like that timeline but I think it's just that he he must have sent it to her right right because that's the only way that could have gotten from where he was to where the kid was do you understand what I mean yeah I do uh but I don't remember the specifics enough to remember if I was confused or not cuz that's the the that's the piece that he uses to find him and so I was like well how did it get from there into the hands of actually yeah into the hands of the child to be hidden in the furnace so and that's not explained but I think I think he must have just sent it to them somehow like it's the only way it makes sense and the other thing I'm still not quite yeah exactly uh Jared

character I felt like he would be interested in whether Deckard was a replicant or not he would be very interested in that but he's not and I don't know why that's the one thing I was talking to my friend Jimmy about it I don't understand why he's not even a little bit interested to know yeah well my guess is that he does know and he just doesn't want to tell us yeah yeah he doesn't give he doesn't give a [ __ ] if we know actually yeah okay and you know what he probably doesn't want to tell him that makes sense too because I it's fairly obvious that decad doesn't want to know either yeah that's right because otherwise he would ask yeah so I guess that work but what I love I mean we've seen humans falling in love with replicants but in

this we see a hologram and we see a replicant fall in love with a hologram right oh he's not going to be satisfied with that relationship a well you say that they they find some workarounds yeah that's right there's yeah if you want to [ __ ] something there's always a way to [ __ ] it ah thanks to the internet I found that whole thing to be really that whole plot line to be [ __ ] awesome because it extends on the whole thing of like oh we made these replicants are they are they real cuz they're physically here and they're talking to you and and then it's kind of like yeah I guess maybe they they are like you kind of grow to feel that way about them and then this one it's like okay well this this girl doesn't even have a body she's just in

the computer and the person that she's in love with is a replicant so she's not there's not even a human in this equation now yeah exactly and so so what is is she real can like can she die like it's yeah yeah is it sad when she dies awesome yeah answer it was yes it is it's such a good extension on the theme I thought agreed it's it's like the natural and satisfying extension yeah so did I give any explanation of sort of more about what's happened with Earth in all this time no um no sort of like they there's one point where they go to Las Vegas and they talk about you know the dirty bomb went off yeah the dirty bomb that was

dropped there and stuff like that so you know there's little there's little just worldbuilding hints that happen but yeah they never sit down and go this is what happened I wish films wouldn't do that yeah agreed but do you know what I I realize you know how we always joke that movies about the future made in the 80s are only the future of the 80s right uh like in terms of uh technology and in terms of design and all of that I realized watching this that no that actually would be the case because if there was a cataclysmic event things like technology and design would come to a grinding halt during the era that the event happened so anything futury would be built yeah exactly right everything's

a bit future but it's also kind of the 50s yeah and I I thought they did a really good job of like Blade Runner 2049 is the future of the Blade Runner future like and and I thought they did a really good job of incorporating the weird 80s future of Blade Runner and making the future of that and so it's got like weird 80s style Tech still in it but also kind of a bit stuff yeah that's right yeah yeah they they yeah they put like 40 years in the future of that same universe they didn't try to completely reimagine something to exactly and it doesn't so it's not like the 8S and it feels contemporary but it feels but it also feels like Blade Runner like I thought I don't know they just got that right yeah they didn't do what George

Lucas did correct and just correct and they just put a whole bunch of [ __ ] in even though it was a prequel yeah yep yep but yeah I [ __ ] love this movie I loved the uh the sequence at the seaw wall when the the fight sequence and stuff I've heard people say that was boring nah [ __ ] you [ __ ] off that was that was awesome I am going to try and go see it this week but on Wednesday I'm going to see Thor oh is that soon I'm worried about that film what I've heard actually we can't talk about anything else we got talk about that's true told we promised people have y tuned out they're going to they're going to listen to us next week and we like as we said last week about

Thor and they're going to be like oh and you CS were lying they've probably tuned out anyway because I Blade Runner spoiler talk has been a bit vague unless they've seen it although I guess if you haven't seen it why are you listening you probably know what we're talking about I'm trying to get my hands on a bottle of the Blade Runner whiskey I you this oh man yeah you're still having trouble find you in the movie Luke working on it I'm working on it but I'm not working on it actually Jim my father-in-law's working on it for it on my behalf but uh yeah there's only a limited number of them so I think it's been hard to get oh it's only 90 bucks that's not bad yeah go I've paid for more than that for whiskies before yeah yeah there's just not a lot of it uh now

that we've gone that Luke do you have any questions about Blade Runner that you would just like us to Rattle off answers to yeah all right so Rachel's gone Rachel survived for years but then died she is in it you want to know yep she's in it you actually really want to know yeah she's in it because if you buildt one replicant you can build it again Ah that's interesting mhm but do you give it but it'll be different though it'll have the same memories but can it might be you download the new memories watch it well I mean that might be part of the plot too that might be part of the Dilemma is this the same person or did you fall in love with somebody that was a very specific clone you know like very specific mhm if you just like reboot her

and put in new memories you should be fine so he just saying so if your girlfriend died and then you found another girl who was brain dead and you just told her that she was your wife then you would just feel like you had never lost your wife in the first place well no no I said you also have to sort of put the memories in her right yeah but you could just tell her yeah just you're telling her everything she knows just cuz you build a new one and I'm so you get like a backup floppy disc so you probably get it a backup every now and again and then you put the backup in reboot install the new memories and Away you go it's like she never left you might miss out in a few days just depending on how often you do
