[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm your destination for all things nerdy so I hope you all enjoyed our last week throwback episode uh this time we're back for another live episode that's right well well it's live as really live pre-taped and pre-edited where do we get Live Well it's live now but by the time anyone hears it it's not live it's it's not something it's not something we recorded 3 4 years ago no it's no but it will be something we recorded three or four weeks ago by the time people hear it well that's not true still it's as live as we've ever been yeah we've never been more live it was crazy going back and listening to that what we used to sound

like I know sound quality ter all used to be in the same room yeah it's very different when we're in the same room we talk over each other a lot more and we laugh a lot more because we're looking at each other's facial expressions yeah we can't do that now so we just let each other talk and easy to get the one thing yeah and now we're talking over each other now but that's the weird thing we're talking over each other more back then when we could see each other yeah that's because um I think when you're sitting across the table from each other two people can be having a conversation and then two the two other people can kind of continue to talk whereas on Skype you can't do that like no cuz you as as evidenced by the last five minutes as soon as two people

start talking at the same time no one knows what's going on anymore but and then everyone just stops that's right so I think as weird as we thought it was going to be Skype helped a bit except for right now obviously where it's causing problems yeah this is a disaster but other than that it's been great thanks now I know we've got a lot in the spreadsheet here for us to discuss but should we just get into Star Wars sure yeah I mean Dave's not here so I guess we can talk about it all we want so I guess you all saw the trailer yeah I think if anyone listening hasn't seen the trailer then you need to unsubscribe to this podcast like honestly if it's been 2 weeks since that trailer dropped and you haven't watched

it then you're not enough of a nerd to enjoy this podcast so we can't make you stop listening but if you listen from now on you'll know that you're doing so against our Express wishes yeah yeah so there's there's a new Star Wars uh I was actually refreshing the page the apple trailers page a little bit um the day before it came out waiting for it cuz they didn't say what time it was going to come out um and then I ended up watching it first thing in the morning and I was pretty disappointed the first time I watched it I got to say interesting I watched it a few times in quick succession and I got excited by it yeah and I mean that I got excited oh I I see what you're implying there Luke

uh you you got erected y I guess is what you're saying yes yeah interesting yeah uh no I was excited too although not erect um because at my age it's uh you know sometimes it's it's a bit hard to get there but um you do what you can yeah you know um but um you know the over 50s it's just it's just been hard it's been hard to achieve and maintain sorry how old are you if I can segue into something else real quick I I did something today that I haven't done since I was a child right right and that's that I accidentally got soap in my urethra is any have you done that recently it is so incredibly pain not recently neither had I and I I ducked home from work cuz I had a meeting off site and then I ducked home cuz I needed to pick something up and I was like [ __ ]

it I'm going to have a quick shower and I think it was because I was R [ __ ] I'm going to wash inside my P but I think I don't know my technique was off or something but I got soap in my Ure thr and [ __ ] did it hurt how did you get it out just well that's the thing that's the thing how the [ __ ] do you flush out your dick hole I was trying it I was just like my plan after a kind of a failed attempt to to wash it out was to just drink a fuckload for the rest of the day and just spend the rest of the day slowly peeing myself back to health [ __ ] freak well it is a little strange maybe we need to have a docking special edition episode I mean we can't talk about docking without Dave

right yeah I would have I mean we need him well the request specifically was for Dave to do a segment on docking right well that is specific yeah exactly I mean I'm glad people are getting getting interested but you know like I mean we've got a lot of really important things to say about docking too so whoever said that yeah it's a little insensitive okay well I don't want to say who is so yeah well I um I emplore you not to all right fine but yeah it's an official request from a listener so um let's add that to the um 100th episode list yeah all right good point good point all right so back to um R2-D2 on a beach ball yeah yeah yeah that I wasn't too excited about someone was done got a

tattoo of it yep y so that that's uh I just posted that in the show notes yeah I don't know man look here go ahead mat well I think the main problem the first time I saw it was I had some issues with the trailer buffering and I was forced to watch the little Droid soccer ball guy about five times so basically I saw the start where it's just the desert and I was like okay cool that's tne and then the Stormtrooper guy pops up and I was like right I don't know what that's about at all and then cuts the little Droid and then it would freeze and then yeah about five times I had to go g go back to the start cuz it's yeah well that's not ideal look I'll admit it I was I was on board from the start and I was psyched and I loved it and I was

really excited and you know I'm not letting myself get too invested in this because you know like it might just it might be a [ __ ] movie might just be an average movie I don't know yeah you know I did like the the Star Trek reboot I thought that was pretty good if it's if it's even that good I'll be happy and I mean this is like they've only just finished principal photography right and I assume they've been working on some effects in the time being but probably most of that will be done now so what we saw was just a a little taste of what's already been done and I'm sure that's a tiny tiny fragment of of you know what they're working on really yeah we have year and 13 days until we get to see this movie yeah 17th and to clarify I mean I was

disappointed in the trailer I think I was I wanted too much from the trailer and uh I guess well the two things that put me off the most were the little Droid and also the new lightsaber all right well I've got I've got com on that lightsaber made sense to yeah me too in a world where everyone who wields a lifesaber lightsaber eventually gets their hand cut off I think a hilt is a really smart addition well yes except the I mean the way that they get their hands chopped off that we've seen it wouldn't protect against and as far as I can tell when you when two lightsabers hit each other they don't slide they kind of stick so it's I don't know it's I mean my

understanding of or my my observations of lightsabers in the film so far in the do I don't know yeah I don't well I don't see I don't see how it has any use and the other thing is although um Steven colar did a little segment where he he explained around he explained why he thinks this this isn't an issue um but if you look at the way it works it's sticks out from the side so if if another lightsaber did slide down the blade of your lightsaber it would just cut through the handle and his ex you know what I mean like yeah I see what you're saying and he pointed out well the um the blade doesn't come from the the openings on the side it comes from inside it's all part of the same beam and it gets split so the beam the

beam continues inside the metal so the the three prongs are linked and so if you were to cut down through the metal you would just hit lightsaber yeah that's how that's how lasers work yeah I'm sure of it yeah well that except we've also seen lightsabers get chopped in half before so I don't know and you know what it doesn't [ __ ] matter it just I saw it and I went oh I'm not entirely sure they've put that much thought into it no I my first thought was just oh I'm not a lightsaber gimmick I didn't we didn't need that like so I didn't mind it I I don't see in context in context it might be fine it was just a thing that I didn't it didn't need it I don't think and I think to put it to not show a whole lot of anything but to show that I think was a bit I

don't know it might not even look like that this is so early and it's just a teaser not an actual trailer um and might I remind you do you know what for anyone who was disappointed with this teaser because they expected more from it can I tell you what was a great trailer what film had an absolutely stunning fantastic trailer please go ahead The Phantom Menace I know I knew right like that trailer gave me [ __ ] goose bumps every time I watched it yeah and that was like seeing seeing that movie was I don't I've got no metaphor but um you're right I and I did think that as well I remember I was like oh remember when I saw the trailer for The Phantom men I was so excited and H that didn't work out so maybe this is for the best

yeah that's right look I mean here's here's what I took away from from this trailer number one the world of star Star Wars is populated by women and minorities you know which just highlights the differences between making a film in the late 7s and making film in 2014 no problem with that I didn't even notice that but you're right there was that's all that was in the trailer yeah that's right um there's drama even in the photography of this in a way that the prequels didn't have like yeah that shot of the troops in the carrier and that camera's handheld and there's kind of this kind of kinetic energy before they you know I mean it was like a it was like the Normandy Landing or something when that yeah door came down like That's so exciting like I

don't know where they're going or whether they're good guys or bad guys I know nothing about the context but it was just dramatic and exciting and there's nothing like that in the prequels nothing at all yeah yeah agreed I think my favorite scene in that teaser trailer was the x-wings oh yeah and then just that close on the guy's face that just took me straight back to Empire Strikes Back yeah Oscar Isaac's too he's a great actor mhm I did wonder if it just reminds me so much of West Jansen in the Empire it's just and that part just made me I don't know I know I shouldn't be getting excited looking forward to this but I am and I've been let down so many times one other thing one other thing that was a bit I don't know it I was

like I I didn't pick up on that's what it was until later but there's no space in the trailer at all all of the the ships are like so interesting the x-wings are flying above like a a body of water of some kind and then the the Falcon is in the atmosphere of it looks like TN cuz it's sand but that there was no space which I don't know I like would have expected there to be some maybe but I guess it just depends on what they're working on first so one thing I just appear occurred to me and I think it's ABS why they they on tatto yeah that the other thing I don't know just forget it well it's a planet in the middle of might be tat it could just be a desert I mean the way that planets work in the Star Wars universe is that every planet

only has one terrain so if anyone from the Star Wars world ever came to the planet Earth their first thought would be holy [ __ ] this one planet has multiple terrains what is this look this area here is like tne but look it's the forest Moon of Endor over here yeah now look to me this trailer the takeaways from this trailer are look we've got new characters we've got new robots but we've also got ships you'll recognize characters you know that you'll recognize old and new yeah I mean that's what that's what I want I just got one the other thing yeah I wanted to see some of the some of the stars as well that was that was one other thing I wanted I wanted to see I wanted to see what mark will look like

you want to see Carrie fish's old wrinkled body in the slave girl costume no I want to see I want to know what she looks like in this film I was there's a lot of leaked well not leaked there's a bunch of photos of Mark Hamill with a beard with a hood on with like a a robe on and I think most of them are photoshopped but I was expecting a bit of that in the trailer as well and when I didn't get it I was a bit like oh yeah I mean I'm assuming I like what they showed I'm assuming that there's going to be like one scene where whichever the characters are in this movie go somewhere and are greeted by the elderly cast yeah you know and I'm kind of hoping that it's that too because I really don't want this to be K Kingdom

of the Crystal Skull and like old Han Solo is following them everywhere yeah I know what you mean I I'm sure we'll see probably the next trailer will probably W be out in about 6 yeah they say that this they say that the trailer will be out uh is going to premiere in Age of Ultron oh okay so may yes so we've got about 6 months before that trailer and then another six months or so before the film okay well look at least we'll have something to chew on in the meantime yeah and I mean it's okay I I'm I'm aware of I'm self-aware enough to know that I was just expecting more from it and that and I watched it again a couple times afterwards I'm like no it's fine it's just a couple of things that make me go I don't know because of the lightsaber

and the the Droid I don't know seemed a bit prequal to me yeah we'll see I I will I'll give you the Droid no I don't want it I see no point in having a soccer ball drawing yeah I don't I just don't understand why that what is that why is that I it possibly an homage to a great old science fiction movie called Dark Star oh yeah if anyone's seen that where they're actually they're correct where there's a literal beach ball right I'm okay with that only people that have seen Dark Star know what I'm talking about and everyone else is going there's a beach ball and what what what the alien in the movie is played by literally a beach ball right it's CU darkar cuz Dan benon wrote Alien and um yeah the plots are actually very similar

I've heard you see I know a fair bit about darkar I've actually never seen it I should watch it well rather than watching Dark Star you should watch the documentary on Dark Star on the making of it you see pretty much the whole movie right okay uh but it also gives you like a really good insight into how they put it together because it's a student film that they made at Uni right and um they were doing so well that halfway through it the director I think it's is it cronenburg shopped it around to some local cinemas and they bought it kind of like a pre-sale and said yeah we'll play play this once it comes out and here's some money and they use that money to finish it off and make it a bit better a bit longer yeah right Co cool absolute classic but the whole trucker

in space thing that everyone equates to alien is from this too right well yeah okay same rer well sort of if you watch the behind the scenes for alien they um there's a bit of conflicting opinion on the um origins of all the the good bits of alien if you yeah sure absolutely but there's also and I think we may have even talked about on this podcast there's there's an old movie from the early 50s and I think it's called it the creature from Bas or something like that which is the exact plot of alien right like a a ship picks up a distress signal they check out another ship it's abandoned except for an alien creature which then hops onto their ship and then systematically kills the crew one by one and they they even kill it in the last scene by shooting it at the airlock well

I mean that's how you kill stuff in space yeah that's how I do it yeah it's easy way to do it yeah well that's that's how uh that's how they're going to have to do it on their way to Mars hey Luke did they call you did you get the call uh not yet but they're they're probably busy just designing a few things they don't need me there yet well but you you should go into training now though Luke just start yeah going for a run in the morning or you know yourside down on the Seesaw yeah yeah um and please fill the paperwork out this time yeah don't just pay the 30 bucks and leave it at that all right yeah so for those who don't understand what the [ __ ] we're talking about which NASA yeah NASA have announced and I mean I think they've talked about this before but

this is kind of a bit more official um they're sending people to Mars there well they're planning to send people to Mars and there's a timeline uh and um some pretty exciting imagery I found the imagery to be exciting I would agree but you know what's the most exciting part about this for me is that this is NASA this is not some private Enterprise M you know funded by billionaires this is NASA really kicking it up a notch and it's just really inspiring to know that somebody is taking this space exploration seriously again yeah yeah because I mean a lot of people have said oh you know it's all very well for them to say that but NASA's as much as um they say they're crippled by funding they're more crippled by the fact that they need to make all their different

parts relevant within the organization and you know they had a perfectly they've had a perfectly good plan to send people to Mars years ago and and it all just fell fell apart because every division needs to have their say and it's it's there's too much bureaucracy and all this kind of stuff and you know maybe that's true but like they've done so much [ __ ] awesome stuff and it just I don't know I just like who the [ __ ] else is going to do it like you said there's all these private companies and and companies like like SpaceX now they can launch stuff into space like better than anybody ever has before but that's all that they do they don't do anything else so you know that that's good take that away from NASA and let NASA do the the the kind of

groundbreaking sciencey [ __ ] stuff like you know cuz we don't have the technology to do it yet so I think rather than people saying oh you know the private companies will get their first I think personally I think it's more likely that the private companies will take care of the stuff that NASA would have had to worry about before and they can go well here you go build the rockets that get us up there and we'll focus on the the human transport uh like that the Orion vessels the um mhm the new human Transportation vessels and stuff like that like I don't know is anyone else slightly creeped out by the use of the word human in this context I I don't know why I know NASA tweeted we're sending humans to Mars and like not we're sending people to Mars you know

what I mean not we're sending as to Mars we're sending humans to Mars I don't know it's just too I agree it it also it takes away like kind of it's not vague at all they're like they're saying no no humans we're sending humans people can't go oh they mean they just mean another probe or theyan you know they mean whatever no humans right but but humans as opposed to what but I know you mean probes but like humans to me implies What could they send you know what I mean yeah right sending bonobos I think what we really need to we need to have some [ __ ] deadline like they did for getting to the Moon Yeah well yeah no no you're absolutely we're going there by the end of the decade we need that well

the only reason we went to the moon is because we had to beat Russia well sorry America had to beat Russia like and let let's all right America bring throw get out there Australia we want we challenge you to a race tomorrow yeah and the winner I they going to win but the winner will get a Borderlands Tales of Borderlands uh yeah key you want this game get on it buddy that's the competition first first country to make human landing on Mars but I love this picture right so they we'll put this in the show notes they put this image up which is is I mean it's it's propaganda I guess of sorts it's says Journey to Mars with this fancy Mars you know like the Little Star Trek looking a very it's very Star Trek

looking like this is like it's science fiction this image and it's got it says technology exploration science and it's all like Earth with stuff flying over towards Mars and it's got International Space Station um space station launch system uh what we solar electric propulsion asteroid redirect Mission orbiters Landers like uh what does that say that text is too blood Mars transfer spacecraft Mars transfer spacecraft in space habitat that's what it says but those three words Mars transfer spacecraft like that's exciting yeah the fact that they and they've drawn a little picture of it what I'm nervous about is the asteroid redirect Mission yeah so

they're going to the like in um 2020 something they're going to attempt send robots to redirect an asteroid into orbit around the moon so that they can they can then send people up in the new um transport shuttle sh they're going to put asteroids in orbit around the Moon yeah they're going to the biggest and most impressive juggling act the world yeah I know well they did just land a I mean obviously will that be visible from Earth I [ __ ] hope so that would be cool yeah imagine looking up at the moon and seeing these Little Orbits did just land a little thing on a comet which I guess was good practice although I mean yeah yeah so I don't know yeah we don't need to go to it anymore it's also kind of terrifying cuz if it doesn't work the

moon's a lot yeah the moon's not too far away so well I mean it is but it isn't were you worrying they're going to [ __ ] up the moon no they're going to launch it's going to skip past the moon straight into us all right yeah so I don't know but yeah I mean this is this is just cool man man like yeah I don't know there's a little picture of Hubble on there as well we've got it all in there all the cool stuff and um yeah 2030 something they reckon sending they'll send people over not too far away no I mean we might still be alive yeah theoretically yeah you know all going well we'll still be alive well let's hope so we're not going to be that old no that's what I mean but I mean impotent but you know that's true

the listeners have been more than kind and headed over to the iTunes page to give us a positive review and we really appreciate that um and I don't know just I should probably give you a warning I've taken a a page out of the book of um of some hotels in the UK and I've added to the terms and conditions on our website MH um if someone were to leave as a negative review on iTunes they will be fined several hundred oh it's an interesting that's great okay yeah so how does that work well I mean I I I I got the idea from um from a British Hotel uh the Broadway Hotel uh where Tony and Jen Jenkins stayed one night um they weren't happy with their stay and they took to Trip Advisor and left a review where they

said the hotel was a filthy dirty rotten stinking H H powerful words so yeah I mean not the best review not the best review so they then found that they had been charged um a fee uh on top you know on their credit card um from the hotel because according to the terms and conditions in their booking document it says despite the fact that repeat customers and couples love our hotel your friends and family may not for every bad review left on any website the group organizer will be charged a maximum of £100 per review wow that some I mean um I mean I'm actually they've been told you can't do that now yeah I'm pretty sure just putting something in the teas and sees doesn't mean it just becomes law no the

British that says the hotel has now altered its terms of service after local officials complained um and local politician says our trading standards team became aware of the issue last week as a result we've spoken to the hotel owner and asked for the policy to be removed which has now happened W now my question is this a new policy that I had in place or they been doing this making money of this for a while why why did they feel it was necessary to put that in there and actually I I'll this isn't the first case of this that I've read about either um I think and that's not just a little bit of a bad review that's like like these guys clearly didn't have a good time no that's right they yeah they were obviously um yeah thought the place was a [ __ ] hole yeah um and and I mean it's

obviously worked against the hotel because now everybody knows like this could have just been a a bad review that most people probably wouldn't have seen and not worried about it but now the whole world knows about it because they try to charge the money for it I don't know it's just such a weird thing so and obviously I was joking if you want to leave as a negative review I don't [ __ ] care go on no don't I'll just go please don't yeah good point yeah I'll just flag it as inappropriate you can do that right I can get us banned off iTunes please don't get us banned from iTunes yeah please don't but yeah uh yeah I just this isn't the first um article I've read about hotels doing this I thought it was really interesting

um and hopefully it goes away cuz that's [ __ ] stupid I mean that's really just the kind of business way of saying well [ __ ] you yeah that's right by the way we know it's [ __ ] but if you tell anyone we'll charge you $100 or P1 which is about $200 that's [ __ ] fing a [ __ ] go go on where where are you seg going to now where you go with this did you know I I saw this article the other day oh the other week um and I just didn't know about this Ashton coocher um is a [ __ ] no no he he was dating a girl um and this is actually he was already famous at this time uh I

believe like he he was he was in Hollywood he was acting and everything um so I don't know I don't know why I mean obviously I don't follow his career or all that but this is kind of interesting story U he had a girlfriend who was murdered um and he he went he he was trying to get hold of her and he couldn't so he went ran to her house and like looked in the window and saw what he thought was red wine spilled on the floor and thought ah she just got the shits and you know had a few drinks or whatever or come back later and um yeah it turns out no she'd been murdered and that was her blood Jesus yeah oh yeah like that's [ __ ] up I didn't know that yeah that is [ __ ] up not not just that she'd

strange that this serial killer murdering Ashton cooch's girlfriend was a was like went under the radar yeah for for what uh six years she also dated Vin Diesel yeah I mean [ __ ] and jery sister who I have no idea who that is should I know who that is he's in a lot of stuff but he's not really a household name but you'd know him if you saw him okay yeah anyway I just I thought that was really interesting and not only that that led me um I think possibly from the comments on that article led me to another story that apparently I mean this comment a buzzfeed Loop that Matt disappeared into for a night Yeah well yeah um this one this one is

is more questionable but um I like I mean List you can I'll put some links in the show notes and you can Google this and I mean enough people are talking about it I guess like it's an urban legend of if nothing else but apparently allegedly uh once while filming flipper here in Australia Jessica Alba when she was a Teen um was kidnapped after be receiving threatening phone calls and and being harassed by somebody um she was kidnapped from set um went missing for for quite a a while and then was found bound and gagged in the trunk of a car and they never caught the person who who did it now like I said I can't find any news articles or any legit links about it all I can find is a bunch of anecdotal like stories where people say

there is an interview in a magazine where she mentions it it's so weird and in this article that you've sent us that we'll obviously put in the show notes it's just 50 things you didn't know about Jessica Alba I mean and this could be any 50 facts about that was the best source I could find scrolling down that okay so number 11 is in 1994 she landed her oil on a TV show called flipper number 12 Jessica was kidnapped she was found in the trunk of a car then number 13 she also appeared in Beverly Hills 90210 and it's like sorry go back there you you really do need to give me a bit more information on that whose [ __ ] car was she found in like check that out yeah so like I said I couldn't find too much on it if any of listeners have

call it that um was that people were supposed to do literally anything they wanted to him and he was just going to sit there and cop it like didn't he say like come andit him with me with a crowbar and yeah like and and then I I mean someone else one of the other artists I forget who it was has come out and defended him to say look this actually did happen and when they worked out what was happening they came in to stop it and she ran out and I'm sort of that's leading me to believe that maybe it not so much a rape as uh she was going along with it he then said stop there was a bit of a and then she left which well there's a lot of spec a lot spe yeah I I don't really want to weigh

in on this look I just think we know literally no details and also shab buff I mean it it could also just be not true you know like yeah but it's I mean it's interesting I mean is he really just going to stand there and and be like well I said I wasn't going to move so I guess I I guess I have to [ __ ] her now like I don't know it seems like it's it's not quite the same as you know a horrific rape you know like he could have done something we're on we're on thin ice here even just discussing this I mean if if you swapped genders around we'd be we'd be saying like no that's not on yeah you're right actually and if it

Target no the game still available for sale but Target and Kart have pulled it from their shelves because there was an online petition about it was I don't know glorifying violence against is that just here in Australia or is that worldwide because like point out that in other countries Kmart SES guns it's Australia it's just Australia okay yeah yeah a sex a sex worker start a predition because in the game you can actually have sex with a prostitute kill her and get your money back okay you've been able to do relas in everything of Grand Theft Auto game since G Theft Auto 3 yeah look I mean you know obviously we I would don't encourage people to do that in real life but I mean the game's been on sale for for what like how long yeah over a year

now and no one's and it was just one petition and then now Target's like pulling it off the shelves and then Kmart's doing the same thing just baffles me how this is they've already made their money from I don't understand why this is happening they're not losing money they've made their money from the Xbox One version's out now right so or the the next gen one but really everyone who wanted it everyone who wanted it went out and got it two weeks ago when it came I just I don't know it's just such a strange thing like like why the [ __ ] do they care now it's such a weird decision and what about all the other games I mean it's not the only G it's in a higher resolution now than it's ever been before maybe it's maybe they've only just noticed I think a part of it

came from you can actually play the game in first person now ah and so I haven't tried it yet but you actually can pick up a prostitute in game and have sex with her in first person oh okay and I've been playing Grand Theft Auto since Grand Theft Auto one I still have not tried to hijack a car and kill anyone have you well I mean if you play properly you're supposed to try to avoid that yeah but I always go on little Rampages when I play them I mean that's all I do in them really I don't play the for story cuz it's it doesn't interest me I us no I haven't played it since San Andreas yeah Vice City was really good but San Andreas lost me Vice City is probably my favorite in series yeah I mean I prefer the other Rockstar Games you know like red dead

and that kind of the same gameplay but just kind of better stories I I just don't really care what like inner city [ __ ] are doing yeah crimes and [ __ ] I just don't give a [ __ ] yeah I don't know I'm I'm playing through it again I I was disappointed with red dead that you couldn't [ __ ] Prost there were so many prostitutes in that game I don't mean just generally speaking I think every game you should be able to [ __ ] prostitutes I mean there were prostitutes everywhere like every Pub you went into there was prostitutes no joh Maron was a good family that's true that's true well I mean other people did you know murdered them and and and um slept with them yeah cuz there was a thing about Red Dead in particular where one of the recurring um

events when you go into town uh is some guy will be attempting to murder a prostitute and he like for I don't know he wants his money back or something and then he like stabs her and you can either stand there and watch it or intervene and um people were saying yeah but then well there's there's also the mission where that woman runs away and you've got the option of helping her Escape or hog tiing her and taking her back to her abusive husband I mean no I mean I understand the argument but it's a game set in an era where that happened so yeah I don't you know like yeah obviously I don't think people should be going around and doing that now but they did at the time and that's

when the game is set so I know I do but I don't understand you know like can we not we not one thing to say stop buying these buying these games for your children if you don't want to play violent games just don't buy violent games yeah yeah you're so maladjusted that you can't tell the difference between playing a game in real life then just stay the [ __ ] away from him yeah and if you don't want to see a game you don't want to see women being treated differently don't buy a game that's set you know 100 years ago yeah or 200 years ago whenever the [ __ ] Red Dead said like Yeah Yeah by uh Grand Theft Auto where women are treated with utter respect all right okay all right then uh you make you make a good point there um

I would track my previous statement maybe there is a problem now I don't know it's just yeah but it's but there's as a lot of people are coming at saying it's not that game is not it's not about violence against women it's about violence against everyone it's like that hatred game that that everyone got upset about the trailer saying it's it's oh they it's like you kill blacks you kill whites too you kill everybody like they just yeah you kill everyone in that game I don't think that's a good game and I don't think be released but I don't see is particular I can't wait to play it it looks racist or sexist at all yeah yeah I'm going to kill indiscriminately that's the point of it though I know no like I If your argument was that you know killing

indiscriminately is not something you should make a game about well that's one thing and you can have that opinion that's fine but if you or if the game literally go out and kill blacks or go out and kill women yeah that's pretty [ __ ] but that's not what the game is yeah don't misrepresent the game just to to put people off it like if if you've got a legitimate criticism of the game that's good like you know you're welcome to it I just think you know don't try and make it something it's not it's like it's weird we can't do anything anymore Dan no and like quite honestly now that I'm thinking about it I mean like you know not not that killing women is good but like you kill one woman in a game and

there's newspaper articles everywhere every other game that's ever been invented you kill dozens and hundreds of men yeah yeah I know but there is a I mean again this is proba not a discussion we want to get too deeply into but there is an attitude that um White Men Can't Be oppressed or or you know like um discriminated against because we damn [ __ ] right we can't well that's what I'm saying because we we hold the power in the world you know what I mean so so it's it's not the same thing but then that's a double standard sort of so um but like but also I kind of see where they're coming from so it's confusing and I'm I don't like we to talk about this you know when somebody if somebody puts forward an argument that that women

are being discriminated against and you disagree with them but you can't disagree with them because like you're hating on women even though you just disagree with their argument that kind of thing it's like man I agree with you so much that I'm not even going to weigh in in this conversation CU I know whatever I say will uh it will just not be right yeah yeah let's just let's uh uh let's let's move on there must be something else for us to discuss that we can't get in trouble for uh well I finished um well the only things left in the um spreadsheet is stuff about pedophiles and technology or um Matt finishing the walking dead so I think we should opt for that yeah I um I've finally played through season one of The Walking Dead

the game not the not the TV series I've oh I've given up on the TV series um yeah so have I midseason 3 I think I stopped about midseason that's exactly where I stopped well there you go and that's not where it became boring that's just where I became aware that it wasn't ever going to stop being boring and the same thing happened every season with that it sort of gets to the middle slows down a bit then it picks up at the end and it's just nevering cycle so I just went I don't want to put myself anymore yeah I don't care and I'm kind of happy to not care now like I'm not invested in it so I think I'm just going to stay away um but the game uh the game well the games I guess how depending on how you look at them I played through the whole first season

finally I played through the first three and I finished them off um and I like them have you guys played them no I haven't actually um I've yes I've played through the first one I haven't played the second one but I oh no sorry I got up to episode four I haven't finished episode five well I'm not going to spoil the plot or anything but I'll just talk about few things cuz I you know I talked about the Fable game as well um The Telltale Game um I I'll just I guess I just talk about Telltale Games in general I like them but I feel like they're not they're not really adventure games anymore it's a graphic Noel and it's it's kind of like you know you had Mony

monke yeah it is you had Monkey Island right and then they Telltale got the license to do the sequels to Monkey Island and made adventure games based on Monkey Island and that were adventure games we solved puzzles and you had to find you know the key to open the door and all that kind of jazz and and they were cool and then they did the salmon Max ones and then they were also cool although as everything went along they all got simpler and simpler and simpler and now the Walking Dead I feel like every puzzle in that game was basically oh this car's got no Petrol in it look around oh there's a gas can over there I'll put that in the car okay I sold the puzzle like yeah yeah it's and the thing about it is it's not like with the like the sem Max games where you can travel

to different areas you want you're in this area until you hover your mouth over the spot it's fair it's pretty much on Rails like as far as the puzzles in that go like you've got a li like a very limited scope as far as you know like how how challenged you're going to be as far as unless I'm some kind of [ __ ] Adventure game genius and people do you know in which case I apologize but no I just found but in saying all of this it's still I still eny I did I did I just I just I realized afterwards that I'm like this isn't an adventure game it's just kind of an interactive story really like um which is fine it's just yeah it just no I get annoyed with that I I know what you mean and I'm annoyed with any game that does that like if there's a mission and I've got to

actually do a mission fine but if it's just minial tasks that I have to perform then [ __ ] off just let me progress and apparently I mean I don't like I said I only played through it the once and I haven't looked into this too deeply but I've from what I understand the decisions that you make don't actually make that much difference um because I think it just uh it's just who's who Le so I don't know it's just it's interesting because I mean I'm not sure you could alter the plot much in Monkey Island either though to be fair no no no no no no I'm yeah no I'm not suggesting that I'm just saying that they've taken away the puzzles to make this Interactive story where you can control the story but apparently what they've actually done is created the illusion of you controlling the

story when in actual fact not a whole lot changes but then they've done a pretty good job if that's the case you know because cuz I I it does a really good job of stressing you out when you have to make a decision I found like no no no no like like for example all this stuff's going on then it comes up and it's like like you going to shoot her or not kind of thing and it's like oh [ __ ] like I don't know like what do I do and then and like there there are times where you have to make pretty big decisions and and you've got the little timer I mean you've got like what 10 seconds to decide and yeah it becomes very intense and it really does feel like whether whether it's true or not it does feel like like you're making a big decision I enjoyed it it's just I

realized that it's not really an adventure game no it's it's it's an interactive story yeah and that's fine and I'm I'm wondering if tales of the Borderlands is the same I assume it is cuz that seems to be the way they're going and that's fine as I would like less QuickTime events I don't like those they happened quite a lot in The Walking Dead as well and like I mentioned in Fable I got frustrated by them um but I guess I guess I think they're put sort of putting them in to try and keep that as yeah if people like them then fine like don't listen to me if I'm the only one saying it but I just I could do without them if it's going to be an interactive story I could do without them that because I get relaxed

and I'm enjoying the story and then it's like oh by the way mash the button I'm like oh [ __ ] always comes at a time when I'm not ready for it quickly find the keyboard and yep yeah yeah anyway I recommend them if anyone hasn't played them they they are very good but yeah they're not I don't know they're not adventure games in the strictest sense although actually now that I think about it the the episode where there the train had more Adventure game kind of stuff in it so I don't know maybe it's just the episodes at the later ones I really didn't feel like there was much puzzle solving going on and I was kind of just um walking through a movie and then interacting with the people and then stuff happened it was yeah but still thumbs up I enjoyed it oh and the ending made me

very me very upset so good job guys oh yeah it's good as then you were like really moved yeah yeah it did they did a really good job I thought of um well I think i' I know I've got it on Steam but they've just released episode one and season one and two on the Xbox one so I probably consider getting two on the Xbox One to see how it plays because I'm um interested in how how they do it with the controller and plus achievements yes and I've set myself a goal of hitting 200,000 by the end of the year all right of course you have I have 55,000 more to go getting training by the end of the year reaching for that rainbow that's not long that's that's not long and 55,000 is quite a lot you have to buy a few games oh I've got the games oh okay you just need to plan yeah maybe if you were
