We're just going to sit here in an embarrassed silence until Luke says something, but he's not here. I think I figured out how to record using this. Isn't it ironic? I mean, I don't mean to be condescending, but it's not ironic that we rely on him for a technical matter with regards to this show. When did that happen? I'd never say that to his face, and I'd call you out for saying it on air. Except he doesn't listen to the show. So I think we're we're safe. Yeah.

I'm not sure he knows how to listen to this show. True. Kenny knows how to record. That is. That is ironic. Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm with your hosts Matt, Luke and Dan Multiple Nerdgasm, your guide to all things nerdy. He's he's been on more podcasts than he's listened to. Yes, yeah, yeah, that's definitely true. So he's not here, obviously, no. And The funny thing is he is not here because he's on too many drugs. But I found his, yeah, prescribed drugs.

I found his messages hilarious this week. I think I think drugged up Luke is dead set comedy gold I got. So yeah. So he he's in getting his ketamine treatment for his for his leg as he he's getting what we call the Matthew Perry. And then yeah, it's like I was at work at the time and I got this this because listeners watches you, you know, Luke, he's he's a man of few words on message as well often. Oh yeah, yeah, he weighs him, but he's like, he's, you know, he calculated Yeah, but we he's fucking too massive messages for him, just like fucking ideas for

yeah, just just brains and jokes and stuff and it's just like there he is, there he is. Fucking loved it. Yeah, same, same. So yeah, pie as a fucking kite. Get Me gets my thumbs up. Yeah. Yeah, very funny percent. You did something last night that would have made 20 year old Dan extremely happy. You went and saw LinkedIn Park. No, sorry, Linkin Park and went to a job fair. LinkedIn. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, a bunch of decent suits. Yeah, yeah, They extracted their DNA from Amber and turned them.

Oh yeah, yeah, No, I saw Lincoln Park. Yeah. Yeah. How were they? Great it was it was awesome, really, really good and fuck man. So it was a TD Park, which is like the big sports arena thing in, in Boston. I wondered whether they came to Rhode Island, Rhode Island, or whether you had to drive down. No, don't have to drive. Yeah. So many fucking people there. Like I think, oh, I think 20,000 people ish. And like, and this is the first

concert I've been to where they're like, crowd was literally louder than the band. Like, as in, you know, often when you see a band, they'll be singing and then they'll stop. And then you go, oh, you hear the crowd. Oh, wow. The crowd's really loud. That's great. Yeah. Like, they didn't have to stop. Like, there were times where I could not hear the band. This fucking loud ass band that my, my watch was saying, you're in a loud environment. What are you doing, mate? You're too old for this.

Over the fucking crowd yelling the songs. It was great. That is great, Linkin Park. I mean, I don't, I don't need to tell you. And the listeners don't want to hear me crap on about how much I like Linkin Park. But they're a band that have matured with their audience at such an intelligent rate. Yes, that's the. So they have a new singer, as people may or may not know, which was according to the Internet, you're supposed to hate her and send her death threats. I don't understand that.

So, Matt, have you been doing that? Have you been sending your threats? No, I think she's great. I I don't understand. Well, I think there's a couple of reasons you might not like her. One, she's a woman. Yeah. Yeah. Chester was not a woman. Yeah, just that she's not Chester. And clear on that. Full stop. There's that. Yes, but I think so, you know, it's very unfortunate what

happened. Chester took his own life. But I feel like the rest of the band had no say in that. And I just think if if that had that happened, right. And obviously they they did nothing for 10 years. They were like, I guess we're done. But then it seems like from what Mike Shinoda said in interviews, they kind of met up and then they were like, you know what? I don't think we're done. Kind of think I'm done. What about you guys? Yeah. And then they were like, yeah, no.

And then yeah. And they were like, well, actually you have side projects. We just have this bed. So we're definitely not done. Like. Yeah, like you've still been working. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. You've got Fort Minor, you've got solo stuff. We. We're just hanging out for the Lincoln Park reunion. Yes. So I just don't see anything because people have said, oh, it's disrespectful, the chest or whatever.

No, it's not. I mean, he made his decision on that front without them. Like no, I don't need to like no, no, no, but I mean it. It is a selfish decision without the heavy qunotation of you know, I'm not judging the guy for it. No, no, they're saying like tragic. He he didn't take into consideration who was gonna sing for they Yeah, it's not like the band decided to split up and they've reformed without him. That's right, yeah, they didn't bully him out. No, So, yeah, I don't, I don't, I understand that argument.

Look, I understand. I look, I would also understand if somebody, I mean, Chester wasn't even my favorite part of that band, you know what I mean? Like, no, it's so I've got to say, hearing Mike is like, I mean, I'm sure if if Chester was still singing, his voice would do the same thing. But like, just Mike, just rapid, like I, it's just like, I don't know. I was like, oh, fuck yeah, man. I'm like, you know, I'm 20. I'm 20 again. Yeah, yeah. And did they play songs from like, Hybrid Theory, like the playoffs?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the new singer just sang Chester's Pass. She's great songs. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She doesn't sound like Chester, which is arguably don't get someone who just sounds like Chester, but she sounds, she sounds great doing his. She can do it in the songs. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's great. And the new stuff's good too. So yeah, like I've got to listen to the new stuff. I've got to listen to more of the new stuff. And yeah, anyway, I loved it. Yeah, great. Cool to see him again.

That's a fucking fancy ass show, too. It was in like, like, so it was like a, the stage is in the middle, so everyone's just all the way around. Like, you know, like they were at one end and everyone's looking at them. It was in the middle. They played for two hours. They had like, like, drums and, you know, Mr. Hahn with his sexy stuff on one side. Yeah. And then they were facing in a circle like that. And then halfway through, they went off for a bit. The team ran on and just spun

the whole set around. So everybody got, like a yeah, that's right. Yeah, that's cool, awesome, awesome. And then this crazy lights show with, like, lasers and fucking shit everywhere. It's cool. Fuck, yeah. You hadn't seen them before? No, and I don't. I know that if I hadn't seen them before, it would be in Australia, where I don't like we get back when we were kids, we didn't get a lot of bands until we were kind of about 20 ish. And then bands started coming more frequently to Australia.

But they didn't bring the light show often. Yeah. Or like the one that you'd see in videos, you know, you watch 9 Inch Nails on. Yeah, on the DVDs or whatever. You'd be like. I didn't see that. Yeah, that stuff was blowing up when I was there. They just came and played music stage at one end of the hall and they played the music. Yeah. Well, actually more often than not they came and did festivals. So they just did like a small set at a festival. I know Lincoln Park have come to

Australia. I don't even think. It's certainly not during the peak time. They were just doing like the big day outs and stuff like that. And I was like, don't do that. Do a big fucking show. I want to go, yeah. I don't want to hang out for a weekend in the dirt in the sun. Yes. And they would off like smaller bands would often do like the sideshows at yeah, sound wave and stuff like that. But yeah, some of the times the big bands just didn't do it. I was like, yeah.

I mean, come on. I can kind of understand to a point. Why. Like if you just love Chester, you would you would mourn his loss and and not be able to get a new singer. But like, but like, I don't know, in a strange way, I still wish Jason Eusted was in Metallica, but he is talking about this afterwards. And Robert Trudillo has been in Metallica longer than all the bass players leading up to him. So that's my problem, not Metallica's problem. Yeah. Jenna and I were talking

afterwards about how. Because like, obviously I never saw Linger Park with Chester. So. And we're talking about, like what? What bands do you regret not having seen in the various incarnations? I said, yeah, Metallica with Jason Newsted just because, like, I don't know. Others would say Metallica with Cliff Byrne. Yes. So like, it's not like, yeah, yeah. Just because that's with Jason, that's the era that I exactly because I, I mean, I like the

Cliff era, but I visited that retroactively after I had already heard Jason's Cliff had died before I even knew who Metallica were. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. By falling out the window of a bus and then having the bus fall on him. Fuck. That's. Like, yeah. Crazy. Yeah. Yeah. They crashed the tour bus. Or somebody crashed the tour bus. I can't remember who it was.

The driver, presumably. Yeah. Whoever it was. Yeah. Well, yes. Yes, But he fell out the window. Yeah. And then was crushed by the bus. Yeah. It's fucked. The people who stayed in the bus survived. Yeah. Jason didn't die. He was just bullied until he left. If you believe him, yes yeah, and they all admit that if you listen to the end Justice for all album, you can't hear him.

And then Lars is like, yeah, it's because we turned him down yeah, we we we thought it'd be funny way down so that they released a fucking album where they just took turned the bass off Yeah, just to. And then on black album, he wrote a bass only track and then they just put lyrics on it didn't tell him. Oh man, for chasing. Yeah. So that and I wish I'd seen, I've seen 9 Inch Nails a bunch of Times Now. I never saw them before. Like the Reformation in like, was it 2001 with teeth? So I never saw them.

The With Teeth tour was my first live concert too. Yeah, just because they didn't come to Australia that often. And so there was, there was a limited opportunity and I never took the opportunity. And in fact, they played it Big day out was the last. But before the Fragile, I think that's the only show they did in Australia for that period was a big day out. And I didn't go because I was like big day out, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then and then instantly Trent was like, I'm fucking done, I'm in rehab or whatever. And I was like, God, I'm never

going to see them for my friends. And then yeah, yeah. So and then they reformed I saw a bunch of times, but I never saw them before that with like Danny Loner and like, yeah, all those guys. So it's basically a different band after that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah, Yeah. I would say it's the opposite with I've seen Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds heaps it half a dozen times. But I would arguably say the Bad Seeds are a better lineup now than they ever were, you know, so like when you see them now,

Warren Ellis and you know, and it's just it's fucking good shit. So NIN is, is very polished these days, right. So to see them is probably technically better right now. But the scrappy version, like those earlier albums to me are like my favourites and just I've not seen them in that era is what's like, oh man, I should have done that. Like, yeah, yeah. Were you with the big Top gig where he walks off? Yeah. Little Park, because they. Yeah. Little Park because they

couldn't get the lights right. Yeah. Because we're talking about that too, though, because they, that was one of the occasions where they did bring some of the show with them, like the big fucking, the lights that were in front of them and all that kind of stuff. Yes. Oh, fuck yeah. That was incredible. Because yeah, we didn't get that all the time. No, we did not. No, we did not. No, the fucking Dresden Dolls are touring again. I've noticed. Oh, are they?

Which is sound as funny. I saw them at fucking Manning Bar. Yeah, right. Manning Bar. I couldn't think of the name of that the other day. Yeah. And I'm like, OK, She's like, what do I do now? Neil Gamer's got me in way too much trouble. Oh, just stop using my name. I've been watching Sandman season 2. It's good. OK. Yeah, I'm enjoying it. They're caught. It's make honestly, watching it

makes me annoyed because I'm like, like, Neil, why did you have to fucking like, your stuff's so good. Like, yeah. And and we're getting so much of it. And it's like, what? I mean, it's just like, yeah, God damn it, Neil. I know. Yeah. Try try not to make this personal for myself. But. No, I know, I know. But yeah, I'm just annoyed with him. Like how, but I just the casting in the Sandman in particular is,

is like because this season's got more of the endless like so like you get a lot of delirium and, and, and the casting for delirium, it's just great. She's great. And I was like, oh man, I want more of this. And then the guy that plays Sandman is plays Dream like, like how do they find that guy? Because this isn't this fucking intense, isn't he? There's shots in this where I'm just like, that just looks like what I remember the comic book like yeah, he just looks like body and his face. It just matches. Yeah, yeah, It's like, how did

you find this guy? I do want to watch it now. Yeah, That's it's good, but it but it's a bummer. Yeah, yeah, it it is. It's also a bummer that in addition to enjoying his books, I very much liked hearing him read his books. And he he was always the first to put up his hand to narrate the audio books, several of which I have. And he's one of the few people who I would say, yes, please, you should do that because a lot of authors, I'm like, no, pay a professional. That's right. Do not do it.

Yeah. I love your book. I don't love you reading it to me, but because I started just a couple of months ago, I was just looking back at what I had and I was like, oh, fucking Neverwear. It's been years since I've read Neverwear and it's it's him reading it. But now I can just hear him being like and then Richard May, sorry, I've just got to finger someone. Hold on. It's just, I can't separate it yet. Yeah, yet. Yes, it'll come a day. Such a shame.

Such a shame. Anyway, yeah, we're not the victims. We're definitely not the victims. We're definitely not the victims. What a deal. I would, I would say that, yeah, I would say that the literary audience as a combined unit is a victim of sorts, but certainly not to detract from literal victims. I'm still baffled by not that I think that this is unfair or I just think it's so strange and unbalanced to me how fucking completely knocked out of existence he's been versus

those. And I'm saying not that he shouldn't have been, I'm just saying versus others who have done arguably much worse things who are still completely fine operating in the fucking industry though in like. And I think, yeah, maybe it's just because he he was one of us. Yeah. Like, I think that's how I think that's part of it. It's a betrayal. People feel really betrayed by him. People don't forgive betrayal. That's like the what? You know, because Cormac

McCarthy kidnapped an underage girl, talking to Mexico, raped her, left her there and went back to his wife and kids. And that's just a fun story people tell her that people publish. Whatever it was, it's just like, OK, yeah. And I just wonder what it's. Sometimes I'm like, hell yeah. Like, yeah. Again, not that he shouldn't be, just that. Why isn't anybody else? Yeah. Because the one that gets me is that image that went around on the Internet a couple of months after this all came out of that

picture of him, black and white and dim lighting with just the word monster next to it. And it's like, yeah, well, hold on. Like yes, yes, he it's inappropriate with women and that needs to stop and he needs to be held accountable for that. But are we, is this a proportional response to that or isn't it? Unless we're saying, if we're saying from now on that's it, everybody is, well, I'm not sure that's the case. I think for some reason he just got fucked. And again, I don't mean to say, yeah, yeah, he shouldn't have

been or anything like that. He definitely, he brought all this on himself. I just think he was as shocked as any of us when it's just when when the when the repercussions he got was fucking shit knocked out of him because of it, which probably should end. But yeah, why didn't anybody else? Yeah, that's right. But also the fun, the thing that the thing that makes me also question it is everyone's like, yeah, I knew all along. Here's several clips from him from 15 years ago, like being a weirdo. And it's like, OK, well, if you

knew all along he was a weirdo, why wait till now? And again, I'm not talking about the women that I'm talking about people on the Internet who who have jumped on the bandwagon. Now, Yes. Yeah. Anyway, I did something else yesterday. I went to the 24 Hours of Lemons, which is a mockery, would say of the 24 Hour of Lemons race. Jenna's boss is has entered into the 24 hour Lemons. Basically, the premise is, look, it's a very funny pun, but I didn't know that Americans used the word lemon to describe a, a,

a bad car. Do they? They must if they say yes. OK. I thought that was always a quintessentially Australian term. So no, no, no, they do. Yeah. The premise is you, you have to spend less than $500 on a car and then you then have to spend a lot of money on safety stuff for the car because you're going to be racing it around a track. I bet that's a new thing. I bet in the 80s they didn't have that rule. They told us, I don't know exactly how much to spend on the

car, but we're saying, you know, like, yeah, under 500 bucks. And he goes, mate, this has been very expensive. That's right. Keith's friends. Who? So Keith is Jenna's boss and her his friends, I guess their work at in mechanic OK Industries. Because as far as I know, Keith doesn't fuck all about cars, right? No offense. Keith did be listening. No, but then you do have to have friends who are mechanics. If you're going to, you need to. Yeah, because their car was out of Commission half yesterday and

they were trying to fix it. So yes. Right. So fixing it on the fly so that he could continue racing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And there they took turns driving. And it's not, I learned it's not technically 24 hours like Le Mans. It's from 8:30 yesterday to 6:00 PM yesterday, and then you have to stop. And then today they'll go again from. Yeah, 3:50 or something. Sure. I mean, that's like when Tom Delong was talking about when

the CIA, like, questioned him for 48 hours. And Jared, really, two whole days and nights. He's like, no, not 48 consecutive hours. Every afternoon, watch the movie in between. But it was really fun. And some of the cars, man, like it's like like literally Mad Max shit. Like they've got fucking there's one they've just built a Batmobile by like welding fucking wings on. And it's like like you just don't expect to be see these kind of cars driven because it's just like how how good a job do

they do of recreating A Batmobile? Like did it look like a like a world? It looks like a sticky tape thing or did it look like a bat? It looked like the Batmobile if someone from Mad Max made it. I'm not like they all. There's one. I was not. Going to be able to Unsee that because that sounds fucking red. I've got photos. I'll send you some photos. My favorite car was it because I've said this before, I always wanted and I almost bought a 300ZX, Nissan 300ZX and there was one that they turned into a

shark with a fin on the top of it. That's like that's just fucking cool, man. And so they just drove around like the whole time we were there, they were driving around doing laps. I don't know if anybody's keeping track of. Yeah, I was going to ask what? Yeah. OK. Right. Seems it's not the point. Not the point, no. And I mean, because Keith's car is not competitive, let's say, but they're just there for fun. So.

And I, I think a lot of and some of those cars did not cost $500. There's no fucking way. There's like a one thing as in like a modern, modern era Mustang going. Yeah, I guess so Somebody said sell this for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Something, some some dodgy trades or something going on there because some of those cars like a lot of BMWs, like, yeah, right. Yeah. Goes against the spirit of this, surely. Apparently not. Apparently it's like nobody can whatever you can get.

OK, sure. On paper, yeah. Because like I said, there's a a pack of them that are like fucking flying around and then everybody else is just kind of like. Yeah, right. Yeah. And here he comes again. Yes. Sick. Yeah. So how much of it did you watch? We were there for, we were there for like 6 hours yesterday. Yeah, right. And like, you know, we were watched and Lira was there. So she was, we were walking

around looking at stuff and then she was pretty entertained actually. She like, yeah, that's great. Yeah. It's fun. Nice. Nice. It's a good day out. Yeah. Yeah. She wants to go again today. She said. Yeah, right. Are you going to go? Like, I don't know. We talked. We. Jenna and I said we'll discuss in the morning when she wakes up

and we see what? Right. Yeah, kind of a she was. Yeah. She, she stayed at her grandma's because we went to Lincoln Park Friday night. Oh yeah, She stayed at her grandma's. I'm not convinced she slept very well because by by like 6:00 PM yesterday, she was not having it. Like I said, she was having fun. And we, she will not stop having fun. I don't know what you said. She's literally throwing. She's not tired a lot doing snow angels in in the piles of dirt.

And we're like, can you please not do that? And she's like, I'm going to do whatever I want. It's like, you're not the boss of me. Yeah, it's OK. We need to take her home now and put her in the shower. Yeah. So let's see how she is this morning. Yeah. Yeah. Fair. That sounds like we've got a lot of fun. A lot of fun. I'm also, I'm just. I'm into obviously just just

weekend events, you know, like when you have kids and you've got to find stuff to do on the weekends, you want to just sit around. So that sounds very fun. Yes. All right. We've got some news and whatnot to get to, I suppose. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Take me through this first one because I, I tried to wrap my head around this, this Board of Education meeting and I couldn't, I couldn't quite work it out. So it's quite mysterious, apparently.

Yeah. OK, so this was in Oklahoma, I believe. And there was a, a, a Board of Education meeting. And part way into the meeting, some attendees were like, sorry, what's going on? Because on the TV, the, the, the speaker who was speaking at the time, State House speaker No, that's not who was speaking. It's during the meeting. Anyway, behind the person speaking on ATV screen that they have in the meeting room, there was just naked women mysteriously appeared. The video of, of I, I, I don't think it says in what context

the, the women were naked, but it was a video of bunch of naked women and people were like, sorry, what's happening? And nobody's owning up to up to why this happened, just apparently has happened. And then now they're, they're like blaming each other. The two I think major political parties obviously saying what's blaming each other for it. And that's like, was this an intentional stunt or that's bizarre? And do we I, I don't, I mean, this is going to sound perverted, but I just, I'm genuinely cute. Do we know what the women were

doing? No, that's the I don't think they've said. No one's saying. That's why it's so confusing. It says, OK, this is a quote. This is a quote from Becky Carlson, one of the the the women present during the meeting. I was like, what am I seeing? I was kind of in shock, honestly. I started to question whether I was actually seeing what I was seeing. I was like, is that what we're naked? And then I was like, no, she's got a bodysuit on.

And it happened very quickly. I was like, that's not a bodysuit. I hate to even use these terms, but I said, those are her nipples. And then I was looking closer and I got off the body view. So I was so disturbed by that. I was very loudly and boastfully like, it was a parent, A teacher said to Walters, what is on your TV? What am I watching? And he was like, what, what are you talking about? And he stood up and saw it. He made an acknowledgement that he saw it. And I said, turn it off now.

And he said, what is this? What is this? And he was like, I can't get it to turn off. I can't figure out how to turn it off. And I said, get it turned off. And he finally got it turned off. And that was the end of it. Amazing. Are you imagine these as older people? They've got to be. Oh yeah, that's up there with I'm not a cat. That's some kind of filter. I'm still here, Your honour, I'm not a cat. Another board member confirmed

this description, calling the footage retro. Oh, and saying the women were standing around a chiropractic table. What's a chiropractic? Table. Like a massage. Table, maybe practic table. Yeah, Yeah. Well. But it can. Bend, I think bend people in different table. Yeah, OK. It's one of those ones with the face holes, like a massage table. That's why I came. So, I mean, I mean, from that

I've decided what I think the video was probably going to be. I think that probably there were two holes in the table. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But very strange there. Yeah. Yes. So anyway. And yeah, at this point, they're all just blaming each other for. Yeah, right. For it. I mean, what American politics has come to now it literally it is these days. I mean, this is fairly innocuous, to be honest. Yeah. Yeah.

You bet on what else everybody's going. If everyone was over the age of 18 and this is. You were on pedophile Ireland. Yeah, You were on pedophile Ireland. You were all on pedophile island. Yeah. Let's just be there. It's about what you did there that we don't know. Yes, everybody was there. Apparently we were there. Yeah. Because I've heard that fucking Trump had a falling out with Epstein because he was pinching stuff from his fucking private

island to go to his private island. And then there's pictures of Clinton there getting massaged by those girls. And it's like, this is not a good book. And I'm not saying he had sex with him. I don't know. We don't know. That's the problem. We don't know. We don't know. But I know that he no one's no one blown up to anything. That's right. Somebody was somebody. Yeah, somebody definitely was. Yes.

Or this wouldn't be a thing. Right. Like, yeah. Galaine Maxwell's in prison for the rest of her life. There's traffic and women. Who Exactly. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Not just Devstein. It's. I mean. Not buying that. No, no. Yeah. No, definitely not. Apparently we're all there. Fine. You weren't all involved.

Fine. I believe that. Yeah. Who fucking was? Yeah. I don't care. I think these people here are like, oh, yeah. But oh, yeah. But like, you know, you think Trump was on the list, but Clinton was on the list. I don't care. Arrest them both. Yeah, that's right. I don't know why you think that's probably did it. Yeah. I don't know why you think it's another all those, all those are

not Democrat there too. I don't care. Yeah. Arrest him. Political. It's not political. Stephen Hawkings was there at one point. I'm not saying he was digging up and put him in jail, I don't care. Oh man, another another sex. Another sex related scandal this week, although not the same way. What'd you do? People have been throwing dildos onto the court during WNBA games but it's just because people don't respect women as far as I can tell.

A few I thought it was. Something horrible. I mean, it's not political in that sense. Literally what is the purpose of it? Just, I don't know, just to say fucking easy dildo ladies. Like, yeah. Twice this week. Just. Throwing dildos and throwing. Them on to it. That's just a thing that people do now, just a scumbag thing that people do that's so strange. It's pay to get in there too, to do that. I know, I know, right?

And you've got to buy a dildo, unless you've already. That's the old dildo that you own. I don't want this anymore. Point are you trying to make. I only watch. Basketball, if there's Dicks. That's so weird. Yeah. OK, Yeah, whatever. I've got nothing to say about this. I've just. Yeah. No, that's just. That's the news. I just report the news. Yeah. Throwing dildos on stage.

That's should not at Linkin Park. Yeah, Yeah, I don't understand it, but she would have understood. She would have known, probably. Yeah, She was like, she would have been like, is this a Scientology thing? That was the only controversy that I. This is back to Linkin Park. Apparently Emily, the new singer is or was Scientology related in some way. She was brought up in a Scientology. No, no, I don't give a shit. She, I think the main contentious thing was that she

was amongst the people who gave, what's his name, Danny Masterson, a good review. Yeah, they could called into court to give like a character reference and she gave him one. But then she said about it afterwards. She goes, well, I didn't know he'd done that stuff. Yeah, like, I think they all. Yeah, that's the thing. It was a bunch of people that came in and they said, yeah, he's a lovely guy because they weren't the ones that got raped. She said, yeah, I literally didn't even know what he was accused of. I just because it was all in the

court case. I just got asked to come in and give a character reference. Yeah. You can't blame her for that. Doesn't seem like it, but. Anyway, and speaking. Of prison, if we. Want to Oh. Yes, I've got for the first time in fuck knows how long. Yeah, she's going follow up. It hasn't come up for a while, but yeah. The West. Memphis 3 case that I've seen a lot, it's kind of a coincidence actually. I've seen a lot of stuff coming out.

People have turned on them a little bit, I think in the modern era, because everyone's gotten bored of the story now. Yeah, because they got out. So. OK, if you don't know, I mean, they do admit they did it to get out. That's not. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. But that's why everyone was like, wow, maybe they did do it then. So they just didn't want to be in prison anymore. Guys in the 90s in West Memphis, three very young 8 or 9 year old boys were murdered and found in

the in the woods. And there's three documentaries about it, Paradise Lost 1-2 and three. Basically these other three older kids were convicted of the crime and 'cause it seemed like the cops just went, this must have been done like Goths. Where are the Goths? Yeah, and, and if you watch, they were kind of metal head goth kids. They were little smart asses. They arguably caused more problems than they needed to for themselves by being smart asses to the cops, but I think the documentaries make it pretty clear they didn't kill the kids.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, or. At least it's not beyond reasonable doubt. I don't think they certainly put up enough. Enough other. Evidence to make you question it, Certainly. Yeah. I mean, and they if, if, if there's any flaws in the documentaries, it's that each one of them has a slightly different idea about who it might have been and still actually did do it. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't think that's

actually the fault of the documentary. I don't think that's the reason to keep these three people. No, I think it's just really, really unclear who did it. And they just decided it was these three kids and went with it and then they got convicted. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, so they were in. Prison for 20 years for for this murder. And then one of them deeming was on death row. And then I think, what, like 2000? 20 something. Ish wasn't how long ago was it

they got out Yeah, they had to do this Alfred plea thing where they basically they say they. Were getting a new trial. Because there was new DNA evidence and a couple other things had come up. So they've been granted a new trial, and then the prosecution made a deal with them that said if you sign this piece of paper, basically what it says is you plead guilty and you accept that you've been found guilty of the crime. And therefore you're legally not able to hold the the police or the courts responsible for falsely imprisoning you. But you are allowed to say that

you didn't do it, and you can still investigate and prove later that you didn't do it. So they signed this thing. Basically they said, yeah, we maintain that we didn't do it, but we are guilty in a legal sense because yeah. Because we don't want to be in. Prison anymore because they're literally going to execute Damien because we were fucking 17 and now we're death row 40. Yeah, yeah, we'd like to not be in prison anymore. Thank you. We'd like to have a life, some, some kind of life. But lately there's been a lot of there's like a podcast and and

some books about like, maybe they just fucking did it. And it's like, well, maybe I guess it doesn't seem like it. I've certainly never been convinced. Yeah. Because the evidence is like, they listen to this song by this band, listen to the lyrics. It's like, well, that's not proof of a man. He knows who Aleister Crowley is. And he says he he was interested in Wicca. And it's like, yeah, so did all of us in the 90s. Yeah. Like it.

Yeah. Yeah. Maybe not in West Memphis, but certainly broaden your skirts and you'll see. Yeah. In Penrith. Yeah. I promise you. Yeah. We're all interested in that shit. Shit. Yeah. There were fucking shops where you could just buy books on that shit. Yeah. In Penrith. So I think that's why this

captured our generation so much was that just like we saw these kids who could have been ours convicted of this thing based on things that were like, well, we would probably be found guilty on that basis. So. But anyway, so but for the first time in fuck knows how long, because they they did go quiet. And then one of the arguments was that if they're if they're innocent, why have they just stopped looking into this? And it's like, well, because they, I mean, arguably they're just doing it. What's Yeah, they've got stuff to do.

Yeah. The outsiders want to just live their lives. Yeah. But this is actually this article literally got updated yesterday or the day before because it was originally saying there was a hearing granted to discuss testing the evidence with new DNA methods. The hearing was granted by the judge after being initially denied and it was held on the first couple days ago and the article got updated because the judge has said yes, they will retest with modern DNA methods. A list of the evidence that is it's in the article.

It's a long list of things. I will, I will run through it, but I will censor myself on one of the, yes, one of the items. I believe that's the word you're meant to use. OK. I mean, I'm not sure about it, so I'm not going to use that word. Ligatures, hairs from various people. I don't need to go through the list. Jeans. Lots of hairs, lots of hairs. And then the last item is a hair from, let's just say from a, from an African American person. Probably interesting.

Because here there are. No, I've not heard of any. You know, I didn't know they suspected anybody. Yeah. And. Any any black people in the thing, They probably don't. I don't know. Yeah, just, it's just odd that that's on the list to me because. Did that come up? Yeah. It's also odd that they have written it so explicitly and. And just listen, if you if you, it's not what you think. It's just. No, no, no.

It's just unnecessarily descriptive. Let's just put it that way. And an old fashioned in an old fashioned way. Yeah. Interesting. So, yeah, Jenna said her money's on Terry Hobbs still. Well, I don't. Know about? That. That's one of the kids step. Dads listeners, he was he he the documentaries, I think every every. Everyone. The first one. Was mostly just centred around like, we don't think these kids

did it. The second one was, we think, what's his name? John Mark Baez did it. And then the third one was like, actually it was probably Terry Hobbs. Yeah, yeah. And then I think that's the way everyone's been sitting for a while. But he's got a book out. Terry Hobbs. I mean, there's been just a bunch of stuff about this later, right? It's just covered after silence. Yeah. Other 8 year old boys, Stevie Branch, Christopher Byers and

Michael Moore murdered. Because that's the thing that gets lost in this often I think is people are like, oh, Paul Eccles Baldwin and Miss Kelly were wrongfully convicted. The poor, you know, poor guys, whatever. It's like, yeah, but someone, somebody, yeah, three eight-year old boys and seems to be like a, it's a really fucking horrible way. Yeah, like, yeah, yeah. Somebody did that. Yeah. And if it wasn't these guys who've been in prison emphatically saying they didn't do it, still out there, they're

there. Yeah. In your town like. Yeah. That's kind of fucking terrifying. Yeah, yeah. It's funny, this. I mean, if podcasts and Netflix documentaries have taught me anything, it's that police, small police stations in small towns just want to pin it on anyone who's easy to pin it on. Right. Yes. But I must say that's just interesting. No, I'm sure it's not the case. But you also think like, well,

getting the actual guy should be a a real concern for you at this point. Yeah, it's tough, I think because. I believe. That, you know, like if small town cops, you know, like making a murder and all that kind of stuff. People portrayed they were portrayed in the documentary and they do it in in this case as well. You know, the police are just dumb idiots who just want to send these, you know, these goth kids to jail. I'm sure that's not true. I'm sure they really genuinely

like as mortified about this murder as everybody else. Like these were three local kids, but they they have limited resources like. And I know it's the case. Here, I'm sure everywhere that like if you working on a case, you go with what you have. And if they thought they could make a case against the the West Memphis 3, they did, they got convicted and it's like the case closed, especially because they've signed saying they were guilty or whatever. Like that's it, case closed as far as the cops are concerned. They are not looking into this anymore.

Yeah, that's right. Because they're not, they can't. They're not allowed to basically. Yeah. Well, also, they feel they don't have to because they've got a conviction. Like if you're at work and you're like, I, I did finish that project. I've closed. I'm just happy with it. I'm going to keep going. And the boss is like, no, no, you will do the new work that I've assigned. Yeah, Like the people that have already gotten this other. No, no, no, I'm just going to.

I'm going to work. There are several other murders we need to solve, unfortunately. Yeah. So I get it. That's. It's kind of. Scary that someone who did that is still walking around somewhere. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or, even more terrifying, they fucking did do it, and now the whole world thinks they're like heroes. Yeah, at least everyone. In our generation thinks they're heroes for. I mean I don't think that's likely, but because why the fuck

would Damien Nichols be asking them to DNA test the evidence again if he did it? At this point, he could just do. Nothing. Yeah, that's right. He could just walk away. Yeah. Yeah. He's not getting those 20 years back regardless. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, if if he really did it, his best course of action is nothing at this point. Just live his life. Yeah. So yeah, no, I watched a movie. This. Week that I know you've seen did

you? Yeah, yes, because I was I. Just wanted to watch a dumb. Comedy. And I've just got, I've just got Project Hail Mary in my head now because this is my most kind of I just, I just want to watch that movie. Just wanted to come out so I can watch it. So I was like, what Ryan Gosling movies are there? And I realized I never saw The Nice Guys. Oh, yeah. And I can't remember a movie in recent memory that I laughed out loud as many times as I did in this fucking movie.

This is a fucking great movie. He's very funny. Great, particularly. Yeah, mate, Russell Crowe is the straight man. You feel like you're going to watch this again? What? It's so good. Their banter. His banter with the daughter. Fucking Russell Crowe's banter with the daughter, it's all good. It's just so good. I don't remember too much about it to be honest. I remember it's a very funny scene where he's on the toilet with a cigarette and yeah, that

being very funny. There's like 7 gags crammed into the space of like 10 seconds in that scene. Like. Like every watch that busts. Open and he's going to the toilet, he's trying to get his thing, his arms broken so it's in a cast. It's hilarious. He's got he's trying to get his fucking cigarette out and then he ends up fucking burning his Dick with it. It's it's fucking hilarious. It's hilarious. Yeah. Yeah. So good.

So good. I need more. I need more like this. Yeah, right. But it's funny because it was almost. A spiritual successor to LA, not LA Noire, that's a that's a video game. What's the fucking cops and robbers movie where it's it's Russell Crowe and the other Aussie from neighbors. LA Confidential. Oh oh. Guy Pearce. Guy Pearce, yeah. Because that is a fucking terrific movie if no one's seen that.

Not funny, not like this at all, but at least two or three, the yes, two or three, the cast double up and it's like LA is a character, you know. So it's like if you see all the all the landmarks. Yeah, but just reminded me of like, if somebody was like, we should remake that, but as a comedy, it would be this. Yeah. Could you. I gotta watch that again. Yeah. Nice guys. Yeah. It was funny. It was really funny. I.

Wouldn't watch any. No Watch any. Movies this week? I don't think so. I'd watch the amount of bunch. Well, watch Sonic 2. With Lira. Oh yeah, we'll talk about that. Not as good as the first one. That's my basically my. Yeah, that's still good enough. Not the first one. Yeah, I watched 4 episodes of Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Oh, yes, because I realized that the, the new episodes were no, no, just wait. I realized the new episodes were out and I was like about to click on them and I'm like,

like, it's been a while since I've watched any Always Sunny. You want to get in the I don't have to watch the new ones. Yeah, I don't want to kind of waste new material on a, on a stale brain. So I just, I just get back to Season 2 because I've watched season 1 a couple of times. So I just started with Bam Frank's. Oh, that's when Frank's in the episode. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fucking hell, man. So fucking Dennis, he's so good. He's just psychopath. The season's pretty. Funny so far, Yeah.

Actually, yeah. There's been a couple of really good episodes for fun. So yeah, OK. I'm looking forward. I won't, I won't watch all 15 seasons on the way to this. I just wanted to wet my take you a while to get there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Created by Rob Mack. He's done the name change. He has now. The weird thing it was, I feel he waited until he was quite famous. Before he did that, they played a whole song. Ryan. Ryan Cosley.

Ryan Reynolds had a whole song made about how to pronounce his name. And I wonder if that just annoyed him. Yeah. I mean, if he could do what he wants. So it's just funny that he waited till now to. Yeah, change it. He's almost now that he's named the household name. Almost. Yeah. And now he's gone and changed it. That's so funny because he was at the start of we were watching Welcome to Wrexham as all the

seasons of that and it it's in like he was in season 1 of Welcome to Wrexham when they're talking about how Ryan Gosling and that other guy have bought this the football team. And that's how it was for a long time. But I feel like now he's like, it's like Robin Ryan, they know who he is kind of thing. And it's like, yeah, definitely. I'll say this, back in Season 2, he is definitely the worst actor than anybody. And knowing now, I wondered why he wasn't as good. And it's like, well, it's his fucking show, mate. He creates it.

He writes it. It was his idea to do the show. He's very funny. He's just not. Yeah, he's hilarious. Well, I guess it's like Seinfeld, like, sign Jerry Seinfeld, the man. Jerry Seinfeld was a terrible actor. Yeah. But you know, the show was great and he works in it. Yeah, yeah. And, and if you watch the bloopers, like Rob's always the one who laughs first. And I actually know they, they're all pretty bad, but he, well, it's because they just go

fucking nuts, like and make shit up. Yeah, yeah. They do one take where they do it to the script exactly so that they have it. And then it's just like, do whatever you want. Yeah, Yeah. And then that's. Yeah. But yes. And he he did a video just for his I think maybe it was just on Instagram where he was like, I just want to address the rumours. Yes, I am changing my name to Rob Mack. No, I'm not going to justify it

because it's none of your fucking business. Yeah, fair enough. And it's like, yeah, OK, cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah. So this season, opening credits created by Rob Mack. OK, done. He it's an actual name change, right? Like he's not just having a legally place. He changed his name to Rob Mack. Are his kids now called Whatever Mac, or are they still Mcelhenny? You know what I don't know? Or are they also? He's not returning my calls.

Yeah, he doesn't. He won't tell you. He's not a fucking businessman. I don't know who you are. I don't know how you got this number. I got it from Ryan. Reynolds Yeah, I didn't. I didn't, no. But they're good friends. Speaking of good friends who are also very, very funny, there's new Michelin web coming. Really saw this in here. In what context? Like a sketch show? Yeah. Fuck yeah. Just more sketches. Love that.

Yes, love that. What's it going to be on? Do we know? Because we do know. It's all nontraditional now. Yeah. Yeah. I think they were on I. Don't know what channel they were on there. In it's a British channel, yeah, probably BBC Four, I don't know. Yeah, something like that. I was going to say I don't know them all, but. You, Mitchell and Webb's. Great news. Mitchell and Webb are not helping. Nice channel. 4.

OK, I haven't lived. In the UK, except for two years when I was a kid. Is Channel 4 and BBC 4 the same or they're not? It's just Channel 4. I don't know. You also haven't lived there since the early 80s. She's there now. She lived there now? Yeah, she's back. And she was born there, I assume. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, but I mean, she lived in. Australia for yeah, for 30 years time, Yeah, 30 years more than that. 40 years. Yeah, must be right.

Yeah. Yeah, yes, she's back there now. Yeah. Alaska. Yeah. Where is she in London? No, she's up like basically where I was born up. She's in like rural up near Liverpool. Oh, OK, nice. Yeah, Nice, clear. Even closer actually, than I thought they were going to be. This. They were talking about going to living in Chester, right. Because Chester's just a cool place that we, when we've been back, we usually meet up there

or whatever because it's a nice town. And but I, but also the whole point was that she wanted to be near her family and that's where that's my family's all up there. Yeah, right. And mate, I'd like if I moved to England, like, I just love to live in like one of those fucking like, Hot Fuzz towns, you know? Like, yeah, I really think the Cotswolds or somewhere would be a great place to live. I'm sure it's fucking expensive. But yeah, yeah, yeah, that'd be fucking nice if Jeremy Clarkson out there. Yeah, it can't be cheap.

Annoyed him like everybody else, apparently. That's right. Yeah, you could buy his Ferrari. I'd love to buy his Ferrari. Well, it's for sale, man, so I can't buy his Ferrari. Get your cheque book out. Not just not just because I don't know the many reasons. Yeah, it's not the only liberty factor. Yeah. I'll, if I, if I do move there, I will have spent all my money on the House. Yeah. Yeah. It won't be like, yeah, OK. And now I'll just have, I'll

spend a little Ferrari money as well. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. The backup funds that I don't have. I, I mean, I love Ferrari. That. I mean, I've got 2 Ferraris sitting right, right here made out of like, and actually only one, which means my daughter has been in here and moved my other Ferrari. I've got Aston Martin up. I've got Aston Martin I think is here somewhere. And here I've got the last of the V8 Interceptors 00. Do you?

Oh, sick. That's what's in that little box there. And Lyra keeps asking me why is that car in a box? Oh, look at that. Yeah. Yeah. Is that Le Clair or Hamilton? What? What do you think? You see the you're seeing the fucking. I was about to say dreadlocks. They're not dreadlocks. What are they Cornrows? Yeah. Did you watch quali? No, I didn't watch. I just read Quali.

Quali recaps. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Amazon's not doing so well. A bummer, yeah. Don't know what's going on there. Just not fit for the car. I guess not. That's what I'm saying. I mean, not, yeah, just, I mean, I don't mean he's not fit for the car. He doesn't. I mean, he doesn't. The car's not a good fit for him. Kind of, Yeah, Yeah. That's not what I meant.

What I mean is that it's just obviously there's some guy Leclaire's on pole and Hamilton got ANK you once. So it's obviously something he's just not. Yeah, yeah, he's not jelling with the car or whatever, right, Because he's obviously he's a fucking great driver. So yeah, something's going on like the off looking. He's a fucking knight of the realm. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, he's one of the best drivers in the world and for some reason that car just doesn't work for him, doesn't suit him.

Yeah. And which happens which like, I mean, if you if you only watch like NASCAR or stock car racing in general, like, and everyone's car's the same and you're like, and it's all just about the driver like you could, you could question that, but it's like, no, no, no. If if your car doesn't suit you, you're. You're fucked. And look at. I mean, look at. Red Bull, now they've had all this stuff going on, they can't seem to get the car right. Like, that's right. Like, yeah, what the fuck?

Like Max won every race for like a year. It was like they just extended Max's body with some car, you know, wheels on him on Max. Yeah, Yeah. And then now, for whatever reason, yeah. Yeah. Well, also, yeah, I mean. And then you might ask, why do they even change it? Well, because that you have to change it because they change the rules every year and they changed. Well, that and McLaren keep winning now. So they're like, we've got to do something to make our car as

fast as their car somehow. And so they try things and it's like, oh, we no, that didn't work, did it? Yeah, you can't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or, or it was too good. Now we're disqualified and have a huge fine to pay. Yeah. Yes. It was funny though, so. Everybody was shocked. So Leclerc got pole, right? Right. Like at the end there, he just fucking went to the top. And then all the commentators were like, what the fuck? And then and then they should

play the radio message where Charles finished the lap. And then his engineer was like, that's P1. And Charles was like, what? So like, even he was. Like OK, yeah, love it so. Good as well I. Love Charles Leclerc. He's a he's a bad ass. He deserves it. Yeah, I mean he. Doesn't he was born incredibly wealthy? Like he does not need the money. Born and raised in fucking Monaco. He's fine. Yeah. And Monte.

Carlo. He's fine. Speaking of a man who drives a very nice car that we've mentioned already in this episode. Batman. Bruce. Batman, his name is. Yeah, he's he's back. The ones we like the best. I I think it's still fair for me to say that, at least about myself. I mean, this says this is my Batman. They are my Batman movies. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Back in cinemas. Fuck yes.

Just for a very brief run, Batman and Batman Returns. The Tim Burton ones will be back in theaters. I think it says only AMC, which is a bummer. He's not one of those close enough to me that I could reasonably go see these because I would go see these. Yeah, yeah. The new 4K UHD release, which I've realized I don't think I have those, so I might have to get them. Yeah, I was. I was about to say I'm also interested in in that so. Because I really I. I honestly I just fucking love

these movies. I've said this a million times before, but Batman is the movie that made me interested in movies in that I watched, went and saw the movie with my dad and I was like, that was fucking awesome. And then I watched all the behind the scenes stuff and I just absorbed and I'm like, oh, that guy's the director. Oh, that guy does this, That guy does that. And I just that's how I learned. And that book Batman, I've got it on the show, the Batman, the movie book. I was like the annual. I need to know everything about

this. How did they make this kind of thing? When you saw the the moral of the street scene, you know, with the balloons and all that, you're like, fuck Canal. Yeah, as as a kid, I was just like, I want to do that. And then I think I learned, no, I don't want to. Yeah. Yeah. By participating in that industry, you'll learn that that is a shit hole of an industry. It's just very stressful in a way that I'm just not interested in. Yeah.

It's more, it's much more enjoyable to watch the movies than it is to participate in the making of the movie. Or I think if you're in a specific role, it probably is very fun. Like, yeah. But I think it's probably also not because I think I'll be the director to be fun. Probably isn't. Yeah, it's probably fucking stressful. I'm sure you'd know. Like decided he didn't want to be Batman anymore, even though they said he could write and direct it. Yeah, look at all the photos of

him, like Offset when he was Batman. Just fucking just here being like, get Get Me Out of this. Like, it doesn't look very fun. Watch Lost in La Mancha, the documentary about the making the first time they tried to make Terry Gilliam's Don Quixote movie, and just fucking everything going wrong. They finally, finally get the sets up and they fucking blow away into the desert. Like, you know, they finally get the star in and he's got fucking hemorrhoids and he has to go home. Like just. It's just.

It's not, it's just. What's? That. Movie I. Think it's a Verna Verna Herzog or one of those German directors. The one about the the ship where they they carry the ship over land is it? That's the one about the the crazy guy who tried to get sail across South America up the river. And yeah, Fitzgerald, yeah, I think. There was think of the same one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And there's that story about how one of the actors was like, I

don't want to do this anymore. And he literally pulled the gun on him and he was like, do the fucking scene. Yeah. He was like, stand the director. And I think that was, I think that was going Klaus Kinski. Yeah. Klaus Kinski who's like quite a famous actor in in Germany as well. Like just yeah, yeah. He literally had a guy at some point do the fucking scene or I will shoot you. Yeah. Yeah, and it's. Like Jesus Christ. Fucking maniac and very

entertaining. Yeah. Yeah, have you seen him eat in? That show, have you seen the clip of him eat in that shoe? He made some. Comment he made some comment about some other actor or some movie and he was like, and if that fucking if this movie sells even 1 ticket, I'm going to eat my shoe. And then it was a hit. And then and so he had to get up at Cannes and literally eat his shoe. Oh God, that's funny. Oh, speaking. Of so Danny Hoffman, obviously that's my it was my introduction

to film music, which I've gone on to absolutely love film music and Danny Hoffman in particular. He did Batman and he's he did. I learned the the new, the Dracula. The not, not, not Ferratu. The Luke Basant Dracula is Danny Hoffman. So the score of that. Fuck, man. I wonder. He's been waiting to do Dracula since he was six years old, I reckon. I wonder if I'll like this more than I like Nosferatu, to be honest. Nosferatu was beautiful, Yeah. And and that's it.

I agree, but I did not enjoy it. I got bored, wanted to enjoy it so badly and I didn't. I enjoyed it until he came to London. Was it? No, it wasn't. Was it London in this one? It was Germany. Yeah. Yeah. Now I will say that's also just the fault of Dracula, if you're book accurate, because the book is the same. It's not London. The book's the South of England, but they he gets. It's fucking intense in fucking Transylvania and Harkins and the

castle and the wild. That whole sequence in last Friday was great. Yeah. Yeah. But you could even say that about the Universal Dracula 1930. Like that whole opening sequence is fucking great. And then he goes to London and it's just people in rooms talking. Yeah. I think Coppola did a great job of not having that. I really like them. Jenna hates that movie, but I really like it. No, I like it too, I think.

Yeah. Yeah, I. Don't. Maybe because I saw. It when I was a kid and I. Man, I ate that. Shit up. Same as Batman. Like, remember when we were 9? Batman was everywhere. Yeah.
