We’re back, baby! Matt had surgery, Luke got sick, got better, went back to work, and got sick again with something different. Classic Luke. Anyway, we pushed through because we missed you.

[music] Multiple nerdgasm. >> All right, we are back after a little two week hiatus. >> Yeah. Jesus. >> Some of us back a little bit more than others. >> Yeah, we're we're barely back. You were like not sure. >> But I miss you all too much to not come back. [laughter] >> So I apologize for my voice. >> Luke's sick, but it's not the same sick he was last week. He was sick last week and he's sick again this week. Different sickness. >> I think what happened last week was I was just sick last week. Didn't get out of bed, didn't eat, and that lowered my immunity. And then I've gone to work for a couple of days and then I've picked up something from work and now
>> it's destroyed my throat. But I am sounding like 100% better now than I was >> even 24 hours ago. >> Yeah. Right. >> Wow. >> It still hurts. Thank you for uh soldiering on and rejoining. >> Yes. >> If you want to take a break at any point, let me know. I'm sure the listeners agree. >> I'm just going to try and remember when I need to cough, I'm going to try and hit mute. >> Okay. Very good. >> I'll do my best. >> And I'm here. Obviously, I'm good. My surgery went well. If anybody's worried or interested, surgery went very well. I'm I'm all good. So, >> yep. Somehow I caught the worst of your surgery. >> It seems that way. Yeah. Oh, I there were a couple of days there at the start though. I was like that the first night >> afterwards
>> was one of the worst nights of my life. >> Well, that would be one of the first nights you'd spent in hospital, wouldn't it? >> It was the first night I've ever been in hospital since I was like a baby, I guess. Um, >> they don't let you sleep. They'll be checking you constantly. >> They tried. They're so they were so nice and they tried and I appreciated it. But like at one point I like woke up and the nurse was attempting to put a blood pressure thing on my arm while I was and and she was like, "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." And I was like, "You will wake me. >> You might as well just do it cuz this is a bit weird now." [laughter] >> Yeah. That's what I do. Just wake me. But I find that the time that they do come in to do it is just a time that you're actually falling back asleep again. >> Yeah.
>> But I'm not one of those people. I've not this time, but the time before I had someone complaining that they were waking them up and I'm >> They're doing the job. They're making sure you don't die, mate. >> Yeah. >> Like, yeah. No, >> no, they were so nice. I tried to I tried to make sure I wasn't a dick and I tried to be nice because they were so nice and like I said, they have to put up with some [ __ ] >> And then there's only one time I got a bit annoyed and that's because I needed painkillers [laughter] >> and they were busy. So, I feel like even then I was not that bad. I was just like buzzing going, "If you could hurry up, I'd really appreciate it." [laughter] >> 5 seconds. >> Yeah.
>> No, I'm happy you're on the mend. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm surprised how how quickly I've rec. Apparently, they were they were good. I'm a good case apparently. It's good. >> Okay. Excellent. That's what you want. >> They resolved my issue, it seems. I had some more MRIs afterwards and uh I'm good. So going for checkup in another what 45 years or something and >> six months. Six months to see if the other kidney is still there. >> Yes. >> You talk about that on the show. >> I'm not sure. >> I don't even know. I don't think we rec I think it happened after it. Like there was the week before was a [ __ ] blur as well. >> Yeah. >> I learned I only have one kidney. Was born one kidney >> just forever.
>> Yeah. Got to be my mid-40s before I figured that out. >> Yeah. >> And then uh Yeah. So that changed a few things but not majorly. I just have to be a bit more careful from now on than I ever have been. >> And look after your daughter's kidneys even more. >> Yeah, cuz I might need one of them. >> Yeah. >> Little tiny kidney. [laughter] >> Better than nothing. >> Take what you can get. >> Yeah, >> that's right. You're in America. There's lots of gun shootings there. There's plenty of kidneys. >> Unfortunately, that is true. >> That is true. >> But anyway, not making fun of America. Now, >> what what have I missed? Because I know I've missed Jesus. Let's see. What do you want to talk about? Um,
let's do something fun first. That's fun. Um, oh, uh, let's see. There's a bunch of Marvel news. I'm sure people are following this now. I I am interested in the phenomenon where Marvel kind of just disappeared for a few years. Not disappeared, but like it just became less of a thing. >> Yes. And I think that's what they needed to do is just >> But and then everybody laughed because we were like, oh, they thought they needed to bring back >> Captain Robert Down Jr. >> Robert Downey Jr. and and Chris Evans and all those guys. And then except it it worked because now everybody gives a [ __ ] again. So like they were right, I guess. >> Well, even
I don't know even The Last Spider-Man, which doesn't have them in it. >> Have you seen the new one? >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. >> Good. >> Okay. All right. >> And and I quite like that there weren't really too many villains. There was really only one villain in it. The different bodies. The trailer made it seem like there were a bunch of them. >> Yes. >> H >> I don't know. Has it been out long enough to give you who the real villain is? Who they sort of rescue at the end of the day? >> I don't know. I do know. Okay. I know. This is one of the news articles in here is I know who Satie Sync is now. That was a whole big secret. And it's not a secret now because obviously people were going to talk about it. >> So So well then Yeah. That that's it. That's the >> That's the villain.
>> Yes. Oh, interesting. >> Gray was the villain. >> What? All right, I'm gonna have to watch this [ __ ] movie. It >> It's It's good. I quite like it. And I also like the story between was she's MJ again now, isn't she? Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Between Tommens and Dia. >> Yep. [laughter] I think aka that [ __ ] couple that's in everything now. Oh, I can't say anything. >> Why? >> They're married. >> No, no. I'm not the movie. >> Yeah. No, no, but I'm saying Tom Holland and Zindaya are in everything now. >> Yeah. >> As a couple. >> After we're told not to hook up, >> were they? I didn't know that. >> They do that a lot when young characters sort of sort of
>> You're going to ruin the show or the show or whatever. >> Okay. If you break up later. And that's even that goes far back as the Brady Bunch >> really. So yeah, the Brady Bunch, the oldest son and >> Marsha Brady, evidently they started to get a bit close and the producer put him aside and went, "Look, this is not good. Look, if it goes out, it's bad." She's got a lot of hot friends, though, so [laughter] maybe. And and that's what I believe happened. You just banged all her friends. >> Oh, and putting in Luke terms. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Colloquially. >> Yeah. Um, in other Spider-Man brand new day news, uh, a screening was evacuated
in, uh, in, let's see, Kartagena, Colombia after [laughter] somebody just started ripping up a storm, farting up the theater >> to the point they evacuated. Oh my god, how bad. >> Uhhuh. >> And I bet you that person was not taking responsibility for it. [laughter] >> Footage from the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing stunned viewers pouring into a hallway, one of whom dressed in a Spider-Man costume, calling someone on the phone. [laughter] >> Yeah, >> I do like the fact that like even watching people like there's a bit of laughter there. Like it's not they're not angry angry but >> No no no no but the theater didn't stop the movie like they these people
evacuated on their own cho of their own choice I so it's a bit of a bit of an exaggeration. >> Um >> well I do hope that they did get like a ticket back because even though that's what the cinema's doing. >> The theater has not issued any kind of statement. So you know what I don't know. I don't know, but I sort of hope so because you shouldn't have to put up. That's why I hate going to I used to hate going to the movies is because they were full and you have people on their phones and people talking and >> it would really frustrate me. So, shut up. We're here to watch a movie. >> When I saw >> I could understand if you sort of giggled and spoke something a little about, but it's the people who are >> Yeah. When I saw the Odyssey, the woman next to me
>> got her phone out a fair bit at the start and I was like, I'm gonna have to throw that thing. >> Yeah. >> Cuz it's cuz it's too [ __ ] bright, >> right? >> And I don't think people understand. Like they'll try and go like keep it down and No. >> No. It's [ __ ] annoying. >> Blasting light and annoying everyone to your side and behind you. >> Yeah. It's super annoying. It's like like literally making me squint when you do that. >> Yep. And you can't not be drawn to it because a flash that's right next to you. >> But but she stopped. >> Excellent. >> Cuz I was like, I'm going to toss that [ __ ] thing down there. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Um people speculated that this might have been a stink bomb prank. Uh but that's just online speculation >> just because like >> I mean it is
>> felt some bad farts, but like >> not that bad. >> Not that bad. Not that I'm I'd be I'd be >> everybody would have to leave >> and it would only last like a a little bit but the sink bombs will >> around. So >> yes, >> but still why should you have to miss out on watching enjoying the movie because of someone putting a stink bomb? I know it's not the cinemas fault either. >> No, no, I know. Yeah. >> Anyone who ruins my movie should be shot. >> I mean maybe they did. I just don't know. It just they've not said anything. But actually, it's why I go to days I go to the movies now are Monday and Tuesday. >> So, no one's there. >> No one's there. >> Yeah. >> I go in the evenings. It's I mean, movie cinemas are pretty quiet here anyway.
So, >> yeah. I haven't been to a packed cinema in >> the Odyssey was packed. That's the only That's the last packed thing. >> But I think that was more so for the IMAX then. I think you had for normal screening, you probably would have been >> Could be. Yeah, probably true. And then midnight screamings packed. >> Midnight Screamings was the last time I went to a pack cinema, which would have been Star Wars days. >> I don't want to remind you how long ago that was now. >> God, what was the last Star Wars midnight? It would have been Solo. >> Oh, yeah. I didn't go to that. I think the last midnight one I went to was Revenge of the Sith. Maybe. No, >> no, no. You would have seen Force Awakens at me, right?
>> You're absolutely right. You're absolutely right. And then uh I think Last Jedi I saw just a normal screening cuz I knew [laughter] >> Yeah. at that. >> Yeah. >> I will say >> I don't know as much as I [ __ ] on The Last Jedi and I don't like it. I've come around to the idea that he tried to do something different and I respect that, but I just don't think I still don't think it worked and I don't like the movie. But I do think >> he missed the mark. >> No, no, I do too. But I I also I can see if you put the Force Awakens and The Last Jedi next to each other, I do think J.J. Abrams did the easy thing. >> Yes. >> And like which he's good at, which is
like the nostalgia, the >> which why I love the Star Trek movies. >> Yeah. It's like a remake. And The Last Jedi tried to be like, "No, no, I'm going to do something completely different." And then it just didn't work. Look, the thing I go back to the last Jedi, the thing that absolutely annoys me is you've got Luke. Apart from Luke going to kill his nephew because he had a bad dream um [clears throat] was the fact that Luke was going like the Jedi teachings are useless and all that and trying to move away from it. And then at the end, no, Ray saved it. I was like, "No, get away from the whole good and dark light dark side. Go to the middle. There's a >> Yeah. >> in between." And that >> because it was like it was going to do it and then it didn't. >> Yeah.
And it could have been a good way for like Kylo and Ren to actually end their story arc with it being sort of that middle ground. Doesn't have to be. >> But no, you you chickenened out for but you >> Yeah, you compromised this character and then and then chickened out. >> Yeah. >> I don't know. Anyway, people are sick of hearing it. >> I tell you what, I'm drinking a Va Cruiser double and the cool liquid on my throat's feeling quite nice. Is it? >> Yes, >> I'm drinking coffee. >> I only have two more of them, so we'll see how we go. >> Um, in other Marvel news, >> Mhm. >> Ryan Gosling, aka Bae, [laughter] is the Ghost Rider. >> Yes. I don't know what to think about it.
>> I mean, >> I think it's a strange choice for him, honestly. I love Ryan Gosling. >> Yeah, I love him. I think there's better >> Yeah. I don't know. We'll see. >> Better for him. >> I I can't imagine it, but I'm like, I'm down. Like, he's going to be I would imagine more stoic than [ __ ] Nicholas Cage was. >> You know what I mean? Like, >> yeah. >> Oh, this is something I did hear about while I did hear about is there may not be a Barbie 2 now. >> What? Why? Because of Ryan and what's her name? >> Marggo Robbie. >> Yeah. Asking for more money. >> Oh, give them more money. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> How much make you money? Just give it to them. >> How much did they get the first time? I get Let me So much [ __ ] money. Do
[snorts] you know uh we talked about this the other week about uh do we No, I think we talked about this specifically so we don't need to. I was going to say that the the a lot of the budget of Moana 2 just went to Rock. We >> talked about that, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> That's [ __ ] ridiculous. >> And Yeah. And I don't I do understand why cuz he's not a lot of stuff anymore. I think he's still trying to ask for that. >> Yeah. >> He better Yeah, he's got to get it while he can. I think he's tapering off. >> I think he's been tapering off for quite some time. And not just due to just due to the fact that we all found out he's a dick >> kind of. Yeah. I think well you have your moment I think like like was joking
about before. I think right now >> Tom is in dire and or and Ryan Gosling's having a moment too. Yeah. >> I mean I've always liked Ryan Gosling but he's having >> he's really made a >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Stay bodies come back. >> Yeah. He's been doing a lot of good stuff lately and he's having a moment. take and you got to take advantage of it >> cuz Tommens and I are hot right now but they won't always be some skeleton will come out like Alan Richson right we've got some Alan Richardson news uh everybody loves Alan Richardson at the moment >> how's the news of Alan Richardson oh no sorry I was Alan Rickman Alen >> dead forever >> Alan Richardson from the aka reacher aka >> uh one of my favorite actors at the moment uh he's got had this uh movie on
Netflix, War Machine, that everybody's [ __ ] loved. I've got to watch it. It's like a science fiction army thing I got to watch. Uh and also Reach is doing really huge, right? And he's just really he's really famous right now. [ __ ] make sure you take advantage of it, Alan, because >> and and he's the you know, we had the he had the incident with the guy on the bike, remember? We talked about that. >> Yep. That guy who was just there to just cause trouble. He talked about it on Dax Shepard's podcast recently and said, >> I mean, you saw the video. So, you know, the guy was he said he did clarify the guy was drunk. That's he says he mentions it briefly on the video, but he said yes, he could smell the guy was drunk and realized, oh, that this is just
>> that's what this is. Like, the guy's drunk. >> Um, >> but then like his kids were there and the guy was attacking him and he was like, so I [ __ ] punched him. >> It wasn't attacking. was like when he's trying to ride away was pushed him over. Yeah. Pushed him over and then Yeah. He was like um but anyway he said that the worst thing about it for him now is like cuz the police were like no no no you're good. No charges don't. And he was like I don't want to press charge against this guy but now his kids won't ride with him because they're scared. >> Oh that sucks. >> Yeah. I was like, "Oh." Because he said that was he's doing a big motorbike movie coming up and he'd been riding around with his kids like not fast or
anything, but the bike he had >> is loud because it's for the movie. >> Yeah. >> And he said he thinks that's why the guy got pissed off. >> And I could understand going out having a words cuz if you just hear like a loud bite going round and around and around. >> Yeah. >> I can understand getting annoyed. >> He denies that they were he thinks he said that they just it was just a couple of laps and the guy was drunk. Even if even if that grain assault like yeah I got to believe Allan but imagine it had been around around that's not the way to handle it by driving your bike in front of someone else and starting to start a fight. It's a >> like he ran out in front of him and and while Yeah. >> Yeah. Like it's guys can you shut it down for a bit?
>> Yeah. just calmly ask him >> and because I mean >> you never know for sure with celebrities but >> yes >> it seems like if you asked Alan Richardson could you not do that he'd be like okay I'm sorry like he just seems agreeable >> yes >> unless you're assaulting him in front of his kids [laughter] then he's going to punch the [ __ ] out of you because he's enormous >> I don't know >> he would have been holding himself back >> I he was I'm guarantee he was like he would have destroyed that guy in a second. >> Yeah. So, he's having a moment too. Uh which is happy for him, but like like you said, you got to take advantage of it. Uh Dave Batista is having got some Datista news. I won't skip to it yet because we're jumping around a lot. >> Yeah. That's all right.
>> Dave Batist. Oh, you were apologizing to the watchers, not me. >> I was apologizing to everyone. Okay. >> Because I know I'm a bit everywhere at the moment. >> So, Ryan Gosling is Ghost Rider. Yes. >> Uh, Emma Frost has been cast apparently. Who is uh [ __ ] [snorts] Why can't I think of her? >> Does she have a [ __ ] X-Men name? She's one of the X-Men. Emma Frost. Does she have like a name other than that? No, she doesn't. Okay, that's why I couldn't think of it. Um, she's like the ice lady. She's like, >> so like Storm but with less powers. >> Yeah. And she's also traditionally she doesn't wear a whole lot. Um. >> Ah. >> And uh Samara Weaving has been cast. >> I love Samara Weaving.
>> Well, she has been cast as Emma Frost. So, uh probably they'll give her more clothes than the comics did. >> Yeah. >> But, uh >> people are very happy about that news. >> I'm having her. I think this is her moment coming up as well. She's been in quite a lot lately. >> Yeah. Could be. Ready or not, Ready or Not too, they're the only two that popped to my head. >> Yeah. [laughter] No, no, she's a She's a actually, come on. What else is she in? There was something else. She's Australian, which is obviously a plus. Uh, >> Babysitter, what was I thinking? The babysitter. >> Guns of Kimbo. I was thinking of that. >> I like The Babysitter. The sequel is actually better than the first one. >> And um Scream six, she was in
>> Oh, that's right. And she was the daughter of Bill and Ted. >> Oh, that's right. That's right. In uh the whatever the Yeah. >> the new one. >> Yeah. So, she's uh she's an X-Men or ex person as well. >> Yep. >> So, that's news. Uh I'm assum assuming there'll be more announcements about that stuff cuz they need more X-Men. >> Yeah. Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see who's who's coming back, who's being recast for all of that cuz >> Well, they're all very young, so I'm like I'm not going to know who any of these people are like within reason. Like I know SD Sync and I know Samara Weaving. I mean, maybe I'll know them. I just I don't know. >> Well, you've known the first two, these two. >> That's true. I just I I know Samara
Weaving. >> I will give it to you. It took me a long time to work regard Oh, that's her from that when I was watching Spider-Man. It took me a while to work out it was her from Stranger Things. I took me a moment. >> No. Well, I see. I I knew >> because she's also grown up since then as well. >> True. Well, they grew up while they were making it though. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But no, she's >> even since then. >> She Okay. >> She Yeah. Well, she's also Yeah. Cass is a young adult other than a teenager as well. So, >> yeah. Because that's what she is now. >> Yes. [laughter] >> Yeah. Because it took so [ __ ] long to make the show. Yeah. >> Um, Blade is uh still going nowhere. And Maharasha Ali,
Mahashala Ali, I'm butchering his name. I apologize. He's not played anymore, so I'm not going to have to say his name. >> Well, I think after >> Wesley Cypes came back and went, there's only one blade. >> Mhm. >> You could not come and then replace him. H I don't know about that. They have to Well, they replaced um Fenki Jensen with Sadie Sync, you know. >> Yeah, but with Blade, >> they can't bring back anything if Blade's not there. >> Well, they could bring Wesy Snipes back as a joke. I don't think they could bring him back for real. >> I I don't think you need to bring Blade back as a character apart from as a joke. >> Well, they're making all the Marvel stuff, so but yeah, fair enough. I guess don't they don't have to. But uh but I
mean this guy I mean he's a serious actor, right? So >> Oh he >> well I mean it's kind of a loss for them uh in a way like he's a good actor. I've seen him in I mean the thing main thing I've seen him in is um Alita Battle Angel. He was in that but he's in like uh the Green Book and what's that other one? Moonlight Oscar. He won uh Oscars for both of those actually. And then uh yeah, he was gonna be Blade. But I mean, they're just still spinning their wheels on that movie. >> Yeah. I'm I'm of a thought that there will never be another Blade movie. >> Oh, yeah. >> I think we had our Blade Blade movies. I think he may make an appearance, but I don't think he's going to be I don't think he's movie again.
>> No, I don't know what that means. >> Character. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Well, look, if you're going to have Robert Downey Jr. and all the Chrises and everything staying around, why not just keep Blade around like he sits around as well? [snorts] >> There's been a lot of talk about, you know, Chris Evans is back. Obviously, everybody knows because he's in the trailer and people are like, why did they put him in the trailer? It's like because everybody knew. They don't want to waste, you know, just just get it out of the way. Like >> it's just easier sometimes. >> Yeah. Like if they tried to keep it a secret, it's Yeah. It's silly. Just >> it's like when um it was Thor Ragnarok and you saw that the idea of the Hulk
being in it was meant to be a big secret. And if you watch the movie, you can see how they were leading up to it with lots of stuff being in the background with like >> Yeah. >> holding up signs for this greenfaced guy and stuff. And then they came out and told everyone. And I think it's because you can't keep a secret like that big for so long. >> Yes. >> And as I say, spoilers don't change the way people enjoy a movie. >> No. Apparently, they make it more enjoyable. >> Yeah. >> Uh cuz you not Yeah. You get a chance to process the spoiler. >> Yes. >> Uh actually, on that note, uh I'm going to put a note in. I don't want to talk about it right now because again I don't want to jump
around as much but I have uh here we go. I'm just going to put that in. >> Okay. >> Because I do want to say a brief thing about something. Um >> all right. >> Thank you. Uh and then so the other news is is that Avengers Doomsday is coming out obviously end of the year. Um everyone's [ __ ] excited about it in a way that they've not been excited for Marvel movies. I was like, "Oh, I I I want to watch it. Maybe I should catch up because I've been off, obviously." >> Yep. >> For a couple of weeks. And I was like, "Maybe I'll watch some Marvel movies." I've probably got one or two I haven't seen. >> There's [ __ ] 10 I haven't seen. >> Yeah, there's probably be a lot. >> I went on Disney Plus and I was like
going back and I'm like, "Haven't seen that. Haven't seen that. Forgot that exists. Haven't seen that. Forgot that exists. Haven't seen that. Haven't seen that." And I was just like, "Fuck. Okay, forget it. I [laughter] haven't got time for this." For a lot of it, you could have just watched Fantastic 4. >> I I want to watch that. I did not watch that. >> You should watch that one cuz I think that's definitely leading into >> Yeah. >> this. >> I would like to watch the Captain America one that has Harrison Ford in it because it has Harrison Ford in it, but I don't know if it's worth bothering. >> I haven't seen that one either. The other one that is probably worth watching as well is Thunderbolts. >> Okay. because >> after seeing Brand New Day, that's
definitely still they're definitely moving forward with that with some of the characters at least. >> Interesting. All right. Well, I'll watch those two. I know that there's um there's the second Black Panther that I just never watched. >> Um >> racist. >> Well, [laughter] the thing cuz I'm just so [ __ ] useless these days. I saw it and I was like, "Oh, I really wanted to watch that." Uh never did. There's um >> Did I tell you about the stupid thing I did for that? >> No. >> I thought that he had died after a filming of Black Panther 2, >> didn't he? >> No. Or he might have, but he wasn't in Black Panther 2. But I spent the entire movie waiting for him to appear in Black Panther 2 thinking >> I would have done that too if I'd
watched it last week [laughter] cuz I just You just told me that and I was like, "No, he was okay." >> Yeah. No, I thought that he'd filmed that and that was his last. Yeah, right. >> Big thing. But no, he wasn't in it and it was Yeah. And I was Oh, I was very confused. >> They've announced the new Black Panther 2. Um, just so you know, David Johnson will be Black Panther in Black Panther 3. >> Okay. >> Um, so I guess nobody was Black Panther in Black Panther 2. >> No. >> Okay. >> I don't quite remember it either. It was a long time ago, but I I just remember going, "Where is he?" [laughter] >> Wow. >> Uh, okay. So, I got to watch all those. There's like Oh, yeah. The Marvels. There's like There's a lot of them. >> See, the Marvels I skipped.
>> Thing is, >> I'm sexist. >> I don't think any of them are bad. Yeah, exactly. We're a bunch of sexist. Racist. Well, I No, I'm racist and sexist. They were just sexist. >> Just sexist. Yes, >> that's fair. >> Um, no. Well, I think it just cuz I was trying to keep up with them like Thor, Love and Thunder. >> I just burned out. Oh, Thor, Love, and Thunder. I liked it. Uh, >> but was not wasn't about anything. >> It was just Yeah, exactly. >> Saying goodbye to characters and >> it was just like, eh, there's some funny bits. I'd like to see Nelly Portman buff. >> Yeah. But then the whole thing was about just getting rid of her character and I'm >> Yeah. >> I liked her character. Yeah, [laughter] I want to say goodbye to Nelly B, man.
>> And now she's gotten even awesome. Even more awesome. >> Yeah. What are you getting rid of her for? Like her. Um, >> the they got fined at Comic-Con. I don't quite understand this. Um, at Comic-Con, they had a big sign. Basically, they there's like a bridge in San Diego over >> like a a walkway or a road >> and they covered it up >> with a big doomsday thing and they've been fined by the city >> because I I'm trying to pause this. I think because it's a landmark, uh the city said it was disruptive to the flow of uh because of concerns about safety and fears it could disrupt the flow of people during the year's biggest event because >> in this place where I'm looking at the
picture of it now where there are all these people walking >> and all these sort of >> fences lit up showing them where to walk. That was going to >> Well, I don't know if it's because this does happen at events like at PAX. I'm sure you've experienced this where if there's something too interesting >> Yes. >> you can't [ __ ] get anywhere because everybody stops to look at >> like the second they got those, oh, we're yelling and we're giving away stuff >> or a cosplay that's particularly interesting and everybody just blocks the whole [ __ ] walkway. >> Get out the way. I need to be somewhere. >> Yeah. And they have signs that say, don't take cosplay photos here because you're [ __ ] annoying everybody. But they do it anyway. Um, so I wonder if
it's that. Uh, although I mean >> I'm looking at >> it's not that interesting. It's like it's it's cool. >> If I was to take a photo of this, this would be like one photo with the camera and you move on. You're not even taking backups. >> But when you've got like hundreds of thousands of people doing that, I guess. But anyway, they've been fined $160,000 for uh for that for doing that. Oh, I I hope they'll make that money back somehow. >> Yeah, I know Disney can afford it, but I just thought it was interesting because I don't quite get it, but uh >> you know, >> I could understand if it's this landmark and you're going to damage it or something and you didn't >> No, safety concerns specifically, but yeah,
>> I mean, it could just be that they're just worried people are now going to block a [ __ ] road looking at this thing. But then they put big billboards up all the time. I don't >> It's not even a bridge. >> No, it's Sorry. The bridge is not like >> Yeah, if you scroll just a >> Hey, here's this boardwalk sign across the road. Yeah, it looks like a walkway. That's why I said bridge, but it's not. Yeah, like a >> They did a lot more to it than I thought they did, though. >> Yeah, it's quite If you look at the photo of what it normally looks like, it's not that big. It's like, you know, like like a gateway kind of thing that's like, you know, welcome to [ __ ] >> something.
Yeah, whatever it usually says. [laughter] >> It probably says San Diego Union. No, that's the paper. It says >> uh San Diego's Gas Lamp Quarter. >> Oh, it's it's not just one fine. It's a whole slew of fines that rolled up into one. >> Okay. I think I might actually have been here before. But >> so according to the paper, City Fishers gave Marvel and Outdoor multiple chances to put up or remove the ad. >> Oh, >> not to put up or remove. >> They started with $10,000 fine on Tuesday, 10,000 on Wednesday, 20,000 Thursday, 30,000 Friday, 40,000 Saturday, and finally 50,000 for the total. So they they paid for this they treated this as advertising. This is their advertising budget. So they said,
"Can we do this?" They said, "No, they did it anyway." All right. >> Take it down. >> Yeah. >> So, do not feel sorry for them at all. They had this in their budget. [laughter] >> Somebody made a decision. Well, anyway, Avengers Doomsday coming out 18th of December, which everybody knows now because of this big [ __ ] sign. >> Yeah. >> Uh, and everyone's going to watch it anyway. Yes. It's like they wasted $160,000 cuz >> everybody here that is going to this event knows this is coming out. >> Yeah. >> They're not here to find out that >> there's no one at Comic- Con who doesn't know about this. [laughter] At least not many people. >> Yes. >> Yeah. Uh I want to talk about something
else. I want to talk about this uh Kickstarter that we were our attention was brought to. Um, it's called Region Locked and it is a documentary about Australian video games. >> So, they've got a Kickstarter running right now. Uh, it's got two weeks to go. So, by the time you hear this, there'll be just over a week to go. So, if this sounds interesting, act now. >> Now, you don't have time to sit on it. Um, basically it's it's a it's a documentary about uh the Australian retro game industry. So, I think older games that were made in Australia and I think they've got lined up a bunch of interviews. Uh 70 plus participants lined up to uh to do interviews
including the people behind The Hobbit, Way of the Exploding Fist, Bad Street Brawler, Hungry Horus, Fist 2, The Legend Continues, Rock and Wrestle, just a lot of old uh you know retro games that were made in Australia. And I'm sure this would be very interesting. >> It would be. And I'm backing it right now. >> There you go. >> I'm not doing the $350 one day though. I'm not doing that. >> That's fair. Uh, yeah, there's like merchant stuff there if you're interested. But I mean, this just sounds really interesting and I I mean based on the fact that I would like to watch it, I would Yes, >> I will also back it. So, um, it's a series, I should say. Uh, a documentary series. I don't know if I was clear
about that. So, there's like, uh, here there's like a a synopsis of the two episodes, first two episodes. Um, uh, episode one, at the edge of the world, in the early 1980s, Australia was isolated from the burgeoning electronics industry. From this void emerged a rogue band of hobbyists and academic rule breakers who dared to build a video game industry from the ground up. And it's got stuff about the Commodore 64, so that will be of particular interest to me. All right, let me give me two seconds. I'm just going to put in my password. >> Oh, wow. He's literally just doing it right now. >> My two factor authentication. Sorry. My password was already there. >> You just read that code out if you want. >> No, it's fine. >> Okay.
>> I don't know what it is. I've already used it. Um, >> yeah, my bad. >> Look at that. I understand. Pledged. >> There you go. So yeah, this is due out um let's see, December next year, I think is the Yeah, >> but look, if it does sound like something you're interested to, jump on it now cuz it's got a long way to go. >> Yeah, >> short time to get there. >> Yeah, exactly. So >> to my Cannonball friends, not Cannonball. >> What >> What movie am I thinking of? I don't know. >> Smoking the Bandit. >> Oh, Smoky and the Bandit. >> Long cannibal run. >> Um, yeah. So, I mean, this looks great. Uh, check it out if it's of interest and,
uh, yeah, if you want to see it, support them and get in now because, uh, yeah, they've got a couple of weeks to go. And like I said, by the time you hear this, it'll be, uh, it'll be just over a week. So, yeah. Um, yeah. Again, it's going to cover the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, and AmIgga, which I mean, that [ __ ] interests me. I'm assuming other people our age are also >> time back then cuz I think a lot of people just didn't they didn't buy a lot of games back then. >> Everyone just had copies of games that people had. >> It's funny to think back how prevalent >> in like >> cuz where we grew up was not a big city, especially when we were young. It was like the middle of [ __ ] nowhere almost when we were little. Um, but
there was still a huge Commod 64 pirate game industry. Like >> it's amazing to me to look back and think about how much stuff I had access to considering where we were. Like >> Yes. But yeah, you it wasn't that you it was easier to get a copy of something than it was to buy a copy of something. >> Yes. Yes. Yeah. Because even if I went to the games wizard, they probably didn't have it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It's But it's like, how did that happen? You know what that they should look into that? That should be documentary. >> How the [ __ ] did all that software get to my house? Like like how >> like >> Yeah, >> cuz I just remember like I'd come back and then
>> my dad was in the Navy just go he come back, oh yeah, I've got all these copies of games now. There you go. >> Yeah. >> Okay, thanks. that it's sort of like got all these games but no idea. >> Yeah, my it must have been from my dad at but there was like a just had a big box of discs that just had stuff on it. It's like how did I get all that? Where did who who made all those copies? >> Cuz wasn't like making copies was a fast thing either. Like someone had to sit down and make those >> if it was in cassette which was uh where a lot of my Commodore 64 games early on were. had to have a double cassette deck and then you had literally had to in real time play the >> real time. Yeah. It was one to one. It was no if you had like 60 minutes that
was well no be 120. You just >> two hours of your life's gone. >> Yeah, that has a magical time in my mind. Commodore 64. Loved it. Anyway, uh yeah, so check it out. Region locked. Uh we'll link to it in the show notes. Check it out. Um, and this is for episode This is for episode one and two, I should clarify. Yes. Uh, this is just to cover the creation of episode one and two. Uh, yeah. Uh, something else I watched this week, just briefly, I watched Send Help, the Sam Ramy horror movie. Horror in quotes. >> It is a horror movie. Have you you've seen it? >> Is it horror? I wouldn't call that horror. >> No, it is a little bit. It's more of a thriller, I suppose. >> Yeah. >> I mean, it's very [ __ ] Sam Ramy. I
like I loved it for that. But what a strange movie >> it was and I didn't expect it to end the way it did. >> No, I really liked it. It I'll say this and I said this to Ch at the time is I had no idea how the [ __ ] that movie was going to end. No idea. Like I I give him credit >> cuz when you start it it's like the horrible boss and the girls be pass over promotion and then you think oh they're going to learn to work together and then >> No. [laughter] >> Yeah. No, I really enjoyed it. Kept me guessing. It's got lots of It's got a lot of be warned a lot of Sam Ramy gross out stuff. >> Yes. >> Lots of fluids. [laughter] So, I really enjoyed it, but but yeah, very odd in a good way.
>> Yes. No, definitely worth a watch. And it's on streaming now, so definitely definitely worth a watch. >> Yeah. And and really good performances. Rachel McAdams is great in it. Uh, whoever that guy is who played the boss. Also great. >> It's a good movie, but not for everybody. I don't know how to describe it. It's It's funny. >> Yes. but also >> funny and then >> but and then Yeah. Like especially when >> at some point some people managed to find them and that just that took a a left turn very quickly. >> Yes. Yeah. And then uh I kind of guessed what the it's not really a twist at the end, but I kind of I guessed what was going on with a certain thing. It's It doesn't matter because
>> I still had no idea where the [ __ ] it was going to go after. >> No. >> Like, >> no, it's a good movie. They get short version is Yeah. She's working at this company. The boss, the big boss who she was friendly with passes away. His son takes over and is a dick. >> Yes. >> And uh and wants to get rid of her. >> Uh but they want to use her one last time. So, they take her on this trip overseas because she's actually good at her job. Yes. Yes. >> And then they're going to get rid of her and all his bro friends are just going to take over the company. >> But the plane crashes and uh >> but because she's such a survivor, [laughter] >> she knows how to survive on this island and he doesn't. >> No. >> So,
and then things rapidly spiral out of control in like >> crazy. >> No, I really enjoyed it. But like I said, I just at the end I was just like, "Fuck it hell." All right. Uh yeah, Send Help. Good movie. Um what else have we got? What do we want to get to? I want to talk about just quickly I'll talk about this. Are you all right? You having a moment off camera? >> Okay, now he's muted. >> I'm good. I'm good. >> Okay. Okay. Just making sure. Um, James Bond. >> Do we know who James Bond is? >> No, but apparently we will know this year. >> That's that's that's the news this week is that we will officially know who James Bond will be, the new actor by the
end of the year. I'm guessing not until June comes out, June part three, because >> yeah, >> the new villain >> isn't going to want to talk about it. No during press for that. They're gonna want him focused on that because if they do announce Bomb then all of press things are going to be >> exactly talk about. >> If they announce it now, that's all anyone's going to ask him about. So I I guarantee you they are not going to talk about it until then. >> Um but I've been watching the movies still. >> Yes. >> So I was doing my rewatch. I watched >> So where are you up to? >> Uh I've literally just got no time to die left and Okay. I I'll watch it, but I've seen it >> twice fairly recently anyway. So, Amazon, hurry up.
>> Yeah, exactly. I'm ready. I'm ready for the next one. >> Gave you plenty of time to get something out ready for that to finish his rewatch. And >> And the thing I wanted to say was uh specifically was that I found it very interesting that my opinion on the Daniel Craig era >> has changed on a rewatch. >> I still love Casino Royale very much. Very great, very, very good movie. I really enjoyed Quantum of Solace, which >> I didn't so much when it came out. >> I was like, eh about it. I really liked it the second time. >> Surprised me. Skyfall, which I really liked when it came out. >> I was a bit eh about this time. >> Oh, >> and I think it's because I can see now having rewatched all of them. I can see what they're doing, if you know what I
mean. like it's very intentionally trying to make you go this is a James Bond movie kind of thing. >> Can Can you start to see where he starts to check out [snorts] >> sort of Yeah, definitely more so in like Spectre. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> But but I also I liked Spectre more. And the reason I was going to say specifically the spoilers thing is what I wanted to mention was Spectre. I saw Spectre at the movies. >> Mhm. >> And I didn't like it. Yep. >> And I think maybe that's because of the Blofeld stuff because I think it's silly. >> Yeah. >> But I know about it now. And so when I watched it this time, I knew that was coming and I was just like, "Yeah,
whatever." And I actually think >> it's a pretty good James Bond movie. It's just unfortunately they thought they were trying to be clever and make [ __ ] Blofeld his adopted brother or [ __ ] whatever. That's >> And that one thing just tarnished the whole thing for you. and it didn't go anywhere anyway because they just killed him in the next movie anyway. Like just that was stupid. I don't know. I mean, they do this. James Bond movies are not, you know, not high art or anything. They they try things. But >> yeah, >> but I Yeah, on the spoilers thing, having if I had known going in the first time that they were going to that was going to be a thing, I probably would have enjoyed it more the first time because I would have been like, "Oh
yeah, this is that stupid thing." >> This is why I say spoilers aren't bad. >> Yeah. >> Don't actually ruin anything. Not always. Sometimes depending on a big >> unless the whole thing is a big twist thing like like a >> unless you like it then it's good. If if if you don't like it then it's bad. And but if you know about it beforehand the badness is reduced. I think that's the like it kind of evens everything out. >> Yeah. But I think most spoilers are most days this these days the trailer gives away the entire movie. So >> yeah, unless they're clever about it sometimes. >> Well, they do get clever sometimes. Like what was it in a movie Solashi where basically the trailer was just the first 10 minutes of the movie? >> Yeah. What was
>> what that was? >> And you thought you knew stuff, but then it got through all that and you were like, "Oh, okay. I don't know what's going to happen now." Yeah. >> Yeah. >> But I'm still You can never spoil anything for me. >> Oh, that's fair enough. [snorts] >> Well, anyway, that's that's the basically that's what I wanted to say was that I've kind of flipped a bit on the B. I really liked Skyfall when it came out. I still like it. I just now I'm just like, oh, I actually quite liked the others more. >> I think because >> I enjoyed them >> because I knew was going to happen. I could just enjoy the ride. >> Yeah, just enjoy it. Just go with it. Contrast partic got some good action stuff in it. So >> yeah, he's still not like James Bond.
>> No. Who's your James Bond? Roger Moore. >> Yeah, it's definitely that era when it was fun. >> Yeah. I don't know. >> I like fun James Bond. >> Roger Moore did I feel like out of all the Bonds, he did all the kinds of James Bond. But he was always a bit funny, but he also did some dark [ __ ] too. >> Like he's also the most >> rapey James Bond like [laughter] with Solitaire where he swapped the tarot cards and like basically just like tricks her into having sex with him by telling her well the tarot cards said you're going to but then he they were all that all the cards with the lovers. Like that's that's very creepy on a real >> most of the time.
>> Yeah, I know. It's very creepy. Um, and he also sleeps with Roger Moore out of all of them. I think Sean Connory does this too actually. No, he does. Sean Connory does it in uh is it Dr. No, where he sleeps with the woman who he knows is a bad guy and then [ __ ] shoots them. [laughter] >> Yeah, but he's got to use Roxaw first. Roger Moore does stuff like that, too. And then they later on they were like, I probably shouldn't have him do that anymore. But Roger Moore also is in Moonraker, which is the silliest of them all with the [ __ ] pigeon doing a double take. >> Oh yeah. >> Oh yeah. And then the ones with the sheriff [ __ ] actually the sheriff was in Live and Let Die, right? The first Roger Mo one. So he
>> don't ask me to pick [clears throat] >> I think the sheriff was in Roger Moore from the beginning but anyway. Yeah, they definitely sillier. >> Yeah. >> And you like that? >> Yes. Yeah. Even though for some reason I'll never go back to it. Pierce Broen was all I enjoyed Pierce Brozen, but that's when it started to go. >> Pierce Broman, my I think Golden is excellent. >> And then >> yes, >> went off the rails a bit in uh not Die Another Day, Tomorrow Never Dies. >> Mhm. >> Didn't like that one so much. Well, is not enough. It's actually quite good on a rewatch. And then Die Another Day completely off the rails. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, >> that's right. You'll watch them again in another 45 years.
>> I will if I'm still around >> cuz you got to give it time. >> There'll be more of them to watch at that point. >> Well, since now Amazon own them, they're definitely going to be making more movies. >> Yeah. >> You think they're going to stop at one? >> No. No. And eventually I won't be around, but they'll still be making them. >> Yep. >> So, >> I wonder if they will. I wonder if there's a point where it stops. I do think I think it's interesting in that like you you you like that era of them, right? Where they're funny and and and they're goofy and they have gadgets and stuff like that, but >> that's not the world anymore. No, >> like back then like because I listened
to there's an interview with somebody involved in making them at one point and they said that the reason the Craig ones feel different and that's because the world now is like all of the stuff that they used to have gadgets for James Bond to do things with. >> You do on your phone. >> Exactly. Yeah. He just needs a phone and then you got it covered. So that's what like people say, oh there's not as many gadgets in the new ones. It's like yeah because that doesn't need them like >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Whereas back then, you know, he had like the watch that could track something. His phone would do that. >> Yep. >> You know, oh, he has a device that um searches for bugs. Yeah, his phone does that. Like, yeah, it's just he has a phone. >> Still miss it.
>> I agree. All right. What else do we want to talk about? >> Oh, video games. >> Yes. I've not been playing them and I miss them. I hate to look at my gamer score at the moment. I've been uh I was had an opportunity to catch up. >> Squandered it. I've played two games. >> Neither of them were on my Xbox. >> What game were you got? What games were you going to play? >> I played through the case of the Golden Idol. I've written >> I enjoyed that game. I did just get a walk through to get all the achievements, but I enjoyed it >> still. [laughter] >> I did not use a walk through. I played the game. Uh and I really enjoyed it. Uh >> yeah. >> Yeah, it's great. It was I did do like the first few missions as a like I'm
actually just going to play through and then I went nah I'm just going to power through and get all the achievements now. >> Yeah. No, I mean it's time consuming. >> Yes. >> Um but I really enjoyed it. Um >> yeah, it's all about like trying this, trying that. No, that didn't work. Paying attention to what >> Yeah. Checking it's like a detective game where you've got to like figure out from you're kind of a disembodied investigator. >> Yeah. You've got a scene frozen in time and you can see what people have in their pockets and you can see what they were saying and you can see things in the world and you have to try and figure out and put together these sentences that are in the in the in the kind of the the thinking section. Yes. So it's like >> like who murdered who? But but more than
that, other things like there's one where it's like a bunch of it's a cult and you've got to figure out what the different robes and masks mean about the status and group in within the cult and things like that. It's it's really >> it's a good brain teaser. >> Yes, that is what it is. This is a brain teaser type of game, but like it's not >> and I did finish it and all the DLC without a walkthrough. Took me a while. My my play time in Steam is inaccurate because I left it on overnight. >> Ah, >> so it looks like I played it for like 24 hours. I didn't >> try to see how long it took me. >> Hey, buddy. >> I love you. >> I love you, too. [laughter] Let's just check how long can If you do it like me,
you could finish the entire game. >> I mean, you can finish it pretty quick with the walk through. >> Just drag the words where they go. >> Yep. In under an hour easy, I think it was. >> I guess you got to click around and find them all. But >> I can't even spell at the moment. Hold on. Two more seconds. >> Yeah. Retrieve. All right. I look up everything. >> Case of Golden Idol. >> It is says it can take you anywhere from half an hour to two hours. >> The whole thing. >> The whole thing. >> Yeah. Yeah. Makes sense. Um for the main game. Probably not the DLC, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, my play time, my total play time is 26 hours. Uh, which is inaccurate, but whatever.
>> But yeah, a lot of the people on here who would have um registered, they would have used the walk through as well. >> Yeah, fair enough. Yeah. Well, I Yeah, I said I left it. I was playing it, went to go make dinner, >> forgot about it, >> forgot about it, came back the next day, went, "Oh, shit." >> Yeah, >> game's still on. >> So, he's not that unintelligent people. >> No, >> it didn't take hours. >> Not that anyone was going to look or care, but I want to make it clear. Uh, the other thing I've been playing is Expedition 33. Um, >> we should go back to that >> which I have on my PlayStation 5. >> PlayStation. >> Yes. I bought it as a gift for somebody uh for Christmas. However, not realizing that they don't have a disc drive on their PlayStation. So, I was like, you know what,
>> that's fine. I'll have that copy of it and I'll get a digital one for them. >> So, I've been playing it. Uh, it's good. Yes, it's great. >> It's beautiful. >> Yeah. One of the things I got a shock at uh last year's packs was there were all these people walking around with dresses people from French and baguettes that I'm Why do you dress up? Oh, expansion 33. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, it's set in I guess it's alternate reality France. Um or is it >> But yeah, one of the outfits is basically you attack with a baguette. >> Yeah, it's it's it's French themed. [laughter] Uh, I don't know whether it's supposed to be the real world. >> I don't think it is supposed to be like the real world because there's a big thing that's counting down to when you die.
>> No, no, I know. I know. But like, was it the real world and then that happened or is it world? Yeah, I know. Because the city's called Lumiere. I'm just realizing that doesn't exist. So, >> but but yet it's very Yes. >> No, it's a beautiful game. It's great. I need to go back to it because it was a great game. >> Yeah, it's it's turnbased like Final Fantasy, but >> I like it more than I like those normally. I think although the modern ones might be like this. >> The modern ones are not turn based anymore. >> Oh, all right. >> They're basically you are slashing and >> play hacker slash now these days. >> Okay. Well, this is this is straight turnbased where you pick what you're going to do and then everything takes turns. But >> yeah,
>> although you can you can shoot at thing anyway. It's it's good. It's a good game. Uh I'm enjoying it. I'm not very far, but >> yeah, >> I'm enjoying it. We'll see if I stick with it. Sometimes I don't. Sticking with us is the hard thing. >> Exactly. Uh, big game announcement. Huge game announcement. >> Oo, I'm excited. >> If you're an adventure game player, >> I am >> huge announcement. [gasps] >> Thimbleweed Park. >> I didn't see that. I didn't seen a two to that. >> Thimbleweed Park 2 has been announced. >> That game was great. >> Big news for someone like me. Ron Gilbert, he's back. He's making Thimbleweed Park 2. And he's made other games, but I [ __ ] love Ron Gilbert.
Um, yeah. So, uh, it's due out in 2028. He's working on it right now. It's going to take him a while because it's usually just him and a couple of other people and he makes the whole [ __ ] game engine and everything from scratch because that's it's just who he is. >> Well, he does. >> Yeah. Although, I do think he said in the dev blog he's kind of repurposing some other some engine. Yeah. Okay. Uh, it's a very different engine. Okay. So, no. Anyway, it's gonna take him a while to make it, but uh yeah, I love his games. So, >> all right. >> Very exciting. >> You had to tell me it's coming to Xbox yet, and I don't like it. >> Did Thimbleweed Park come to Xbox? >> Well, then I would expect it.
>> Oh, was it on Windows? I know. I've got achievements for it. >> Let's see. Thimbleweed Park Xbox. Uh, yes, it is on Xbox. >> All right. So, we'll see cuz at the moment he's got >> Well, he will >> PS he's got PPS. Um, what he's got PS Park will is on sale. PPS Steam doesn't show it yet, but there will be a Mac, Windows, and Linux version. PPPS, there will be a GOG version. Pppps, there will be a switch version. PPPPS, Steve Kirk is coming back as composer and that's the last. >> Okay. I would imagine since he's done it before that he's he will be able to do an Xbox version. Whether it's viable, I guess, >> but I do understand why he would focus
on the Switch version first cuz these games are >> handheld. Yeah, >> exactly. cuz I know you know like making a game especially if you're making the engine from scratch which he is [clears throat] >> making it on getting it onto consoles is difficult because you need an SDK and you need uh to sign all the [ __ ] NDAs and do all this stuff with Microsoft and Sony and that kind of stuff. There's hoops you have to jump through. Whereas if you use an engine like Unity or GDAU or whatever, they've already done that. >> Yes. >> So you can publish >> as long even if they just give me a Windows version and get a cheap I'm happy. >> Yeah. But what I'm saying is he's done it before. >> Yeah. >> So he presumably has signed all that stuff. He's got tickets. So
>> yeah, it's just main come down to it just looking at like the amount of time it took us to get it working. Is it worth the time and money, >> right? Cuz he knows how many copies he sold on Xbox. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And he knows the adventure market that their their player base is not on PlayStation and Xbox. And I feel like so Thimblewe Park is, you know, the old style verbs at the bottom click. The Xbox is not ideal for that. >> No. >> So yeah, it's a mouse or point or touch. >> Yeah. >> Thing. >> So I can understand that. >> Yeah. >> So I'll play it if I can get achievements. Just throw it out there. Ron balls in your park. >> All right. I still got to send him my um Monkey Island fanfiction. >> You really should.
>> I just don't know if he's going to find it as amusing as as we >> do. Yeah, maybe. I did scan it in to do that. >> Do it. >> We'll see. Maybe I will. Um Elder Scrolls 6. This is a combined news article because I thought it was amusing. So, uh, we've been talking about Elder Scrolls 6 a bit because they've been told to focus on it. >> Yep. >> Apparently, the, uh, the, uh, you know, the boss head of Xbox, the new head of Xbox, Asha Sharma, went to Bethesda. >> Mhm. >> Saw a demo of it and she says it's great. >> I mean, of course she does. >> Yeah. She's not going to go, "God, that is shit." >> Yeah. She's like, "Sorry, guys. It's gone. >> What are you guys seeing this?"
>> Yeah. So, it doesn't really tell us anything. Uh, however, it does tell us the game exists, I guess, >> and there's some sort of playable version. >> Yeah, it was playable to a degree. Uh, but the other thing that's interesting is that when she went there to do it, they had set up this inflatable rat, which apparently makes the rounds of uh various game companies or or basically tech companies. They the union puts up this big rat uh in protest of all the recent layoffs or whatever. >> Mhm. So, when she went to Bethesda, someone had inflated this giant rat on the lawn and everybody was chanting, "Who's the rat?" Microsoft. Who's the rat? Microsoft. Uh,
yeah, she didn't mention that. >> No, she Yeah, I thought she might have skipped over that. >> Yeah, she didn't. She didn't mention that. >> They don't like the >> No. Um, but yes, so Xbox is losing of its staff as part of her push for growth. So that's why people are annoyed. >> But I don't know with some of it, we have got a bit of a kick up the butt of Bethesda. >> Yeah. Yeah. They've been told. Well, we've been told. They've been told [laughter] just >> But then they also turn around, oh yeah, but we had all this stuff on the fly already and it was all this. Oh, >> silence doesn't let people know. But also letting people know too early. >> I imagine you would have preferred. They
could have done this, but they shouldn't have told us they were making it in the first place. 10 years ago >> or like whatever the E3 was. 20 I found my hat the other day. 2017 I went to E3. >> Okay. >> Almost 10 years ago. Yeah. [snorts] >> Like cuz that announcement wasn't that gave everyone hope that it was coming out within a few years, >> right? No, it was up. >> We're probably still a good three years away from it at the earliest. Yeah. >> Yes. >> Which is just sad cuz means we'll never get to play Elder Scrolls 7. >> But these games are so complicated now. I feel like to top Skyrim obviously it's going to take longer to make. >> I do hope that they sort of stick with
what they said they're doing with like the Fallout how like Obsidian's now going to be making >> Yeah. >> a Fallout spin-off. So, hey, while you're not getting a main game, which will have all the big graphics updates and all of that, you're still >> Yeah. >> getting something in the universe. >> Yeah. Same engine, just more more >> and we don't I while I'm saying that, I don't want you to turn something out yearly cuz that would be >> stupid and still what story there, but we can't go >> Yeah. There's a balance between just pumping out trash. >> Yeah. >> And Yeah. And taking 10 years. >> That's 10 years since the announcement. It's not 10 years since. >> Yeah, that's a good point. >> The last one.
>> Yeah. I wonder how long it took him to make it in total. >> Cuz just Yeah, it's just taking longer and longer these days and it's scary. >> Um, we should go to the afterparty soon, but I did already mention this, so we should quickly cover it. There is Easter News. Um, we mentioned that the guy was playing Kattos in the God of War series, injured himself to the degree that he can't do the final show anymore. Mhm. >> And apparently Dave Batista is in talks to take over as Kattos, which is interesting because Dave Batista is not as big as he used to be. >> I never saw him as I don't think I ever saw Well, did I? I don't think I've I don't think he got the movement for it. >> Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I also agree. I'm not sure,
>> but I haven't seen him recently, but like I knew he was he was always going to be perfect for like Gears of War, like with that huge shoulders hunched over like that. He's perfect for that. Butrratto is more of a tall, lean guy who's just jacked. >> Yeah, I guess I don't know. Who knows if this will actually even happened, but apparently he's in talks for it. So, it's it's been uh it's been in the news. Um >> Well, it's sort of weird like are they even replacing someone quickly or to get going again or are they just >> You would think so cuz this was sudden. It shut down the whole [ __ ] show. They shot episodes of it and then now they have to be like go back and reshoot them. >> R-shoot. So if you're going to be re-shooting, you think you'd want
someone, hey, we need someone on this straight away, but if they're just in talks, it's going to be another 6 months until that's finalized. Why not just wait for him? >> He's in early negotiations for the role. No official announcement. >> Or maybe it's a case of >> he's got to reshoot four episodes. >> Maybe it might be a case of, hey, it's good this guy hurt himself. He wasn't that good. Let's use this as our out. >> Yeah. [clears throat] Or we've said this before, that photo they shared looked terrible. >> It's like, okay, we can we can fix this. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Anyway, yeah. No, no definite news there, but apparently he's in talks. >> All right. We should. >> And on that note, we should say goodbye to our general
public listeners, German public watchers, and we should uh move over to the afterparty. >> Would you like to >> I'll let you explain what the after party is. >> Yeah. I'm trying to talking too much. Yeah. Okay. >> The afterparty is where you can support the show. Uh and also you get to hear us talk for longer. Basically, if you go to patreon.com/multipulnergasm for as little as $1 a month, you can support the show financially, which we would appreciate for uh and you get the show early. >> Yes. >> And I'm trying to remember now. Uh and then for five bucks a month, you also get the afterparty, which is every week uh after the show, we keep talking when on obviously we didn't record for two weeks. Sorry about that. >> Sorry about that.
>> Yeah, we'll figure something out. Um, but every week that we record, we record extra and that's the after party and five bucks a month you get it and you get all the back catalog of them as well. So, um, there's like hundreds of hours of [ __ ] content at this point. Um, >> yeah. >> So, we sort of kept you tied it over for the two weeks we weren't here and we're sorry for that. >> And it helps fund the things we need to keep doing this. Um, >> so it's Yeah, we really appreciate our supporters, our patrons. patreon.com/multipulnergasm patreon.commultiptnnergasm there I said it three times that's the stupid marketing thing they say to do right >> I don't get marketing >> yeah I don't either yeah neither do I
neither of us do that's why >> we here now >> that's why we have a very very >> after 20 years this is where we are >> exactly yeah >> all right bye >> bye >> that's all for this week thank you for listening and we Hope you enjoyed the show.
