[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm your destination for all things nerdy look we got some big news this week uh obviously I don't care um but a few other people in this podcast I you do care you're the one who pointed it out to the rest of it I was just surprised that's all I'm saying I'm not saying I was excited I was just surprised L I think you're a little excited I wasn't seven years old all over again L you uh it's your baby you uh you want to take us through this well theyve finally come out and announced the cast for the new Star Wars movie yeah and the surprise is that Harrison Ford Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill have all agreed to do it what about uh chewy and uh [ __ ] troll oh
that's no surprise yeah there was no surprise there they were going to do it no matter what I'm fairly Peter Mayu literally sits next to the phone day after daying gives him a ring please I mean honestly what else has Peter Mayu been in a convention lots of conventions and this exactly same could be said about Anthony Daniels CIO yeah what else does he do does he do anything they just they just do the circuits Mak money off being those characters I thought that Mark Hamill was always going to sign up for it yeah we all knew Mark could do it surpris is Harrison Ford Harrison yeah I did not think Harrison Ford was gonna sign up for this like JJ ABS must have [ __ ] sucked his dick or something or promised him something unbelievable like who's writing this script Lawrence casan
what else has he done Return of the Jedi Return of the Jedi wait and he wrote Raiders the Lost Art hold on hold on let's let's back up the guy who's writing the new Star Wars movie is one of the guys who wrote one of the original movies yes and George Lucas doesn't have his filthy Paws all over this ah no he still does yeah he's how much he does to a certain degree how dirty are his paws these days um hopefully they they kind of just go oh yep of course of course George of course we'll show you when it's done mate I had I had a horrible horrible glitter in my heart just for like a split second then that that that maybe
somehow this could be good but I know I know it's not going to be good I know it's not going to be good it might it could be but it probably won't be Harrison for is so old what what's he going to be doing like well we don't know big a role he has I'll be honest I'm less concerned about Harrison Ford than I am about Mark Hamill have you seen Carrie Fisher lately guys well okay I didn't say I was unconcerned about her but but he doesn't look like Luke Skywalker anymore yeah but he's aged well like he's like really has he you know what I haven't seen Mar camel in 20 years camel aged really badly between the two sequels so you know he's doing all right considering that he lost most of his looks back on deerar oh my God this is
the most unfortunate picture what's going in the show notes God see it oh my God guys it was the first picture I found I I was so wrong I I was so wrong I'm taking this back you have to put this show notes this is this is not good what I'm saying man he better not look like that in the movie I love the guy but he's not Luke Skywalker anymore dead he looks dead he looks more like Jaba the Hut than he does I know I'm not kidding he looks why he does a lot of voice acting these days I was going to say I just hear his voice and he still sounds like young Luke I oh he's he's hideous you can't put this man on film Jedi don't get fat and
old like Yoda was old but he was still pretty trim maybe he's going to buff up dude you can't you can't fix that the guy's the guy's almost dead look at him [ __ ] Harrison Ford looks fantastic compared to Mar no Harrison for doesn't look fantastic anymore he compared to that picture of Mark Hill you just looked that he's to me Harrison Ford's starting to look old yeah but he's in good shape starting to look old the man's in his 70s yeah and he's in Harrison Ford's in good shape Mark Hill is not in good shape like no you know love the guy but he's not physically in good shape no like he's he's not been working out no ham haml yeah he's laid off the boys are they just GNA they're going to
be bit parts or something surely I assume they're not going to be main Cod well there was a rumor there I don't know it's I find it weird that if they being bit Parts why they would be there for the table read exactly it's called publicity yeah that that is a fair point but I did I I read that wait there's a table read does anyone have any of the dialogue from it at all no except ham tweeted from it right but as far as I know did he say down one picture of them all everyone T about how fat ugly I look now I'm not a pedophile [ __ ] you multiple nasm yeah it's pretty much the gist of it I've got a scoop I've got a scoop though I do have one line from the film and that line is I have a bad feeling about this oh Jesus you know I live with
Mike someone will say that for like years all three of them and someone we've lost touch but I didn't know he was looking that bad these days I I probably should have called maybe should have visited but wow y well look I I got excited I saw the photo I mean I I even I knew that they were probably you know probably in but then I saw the photo and it was happening and I got excited so I assume they were going to roll them out over you know w a film for three films I had no idea they were going to cram them in to the first one so cram him in there well come on I mean there's no real need for them to be in there no especially for chewbaca Peter does not need to be there at all no that's right it could be anybody in the suit wrong what sacr
wrong no wrong but also I I just need to ask what how is Peter going to be chewbaca because chewbaca doesn't need a walking stick oh shaca is a pretty active Guy this is does Peter may have a walking stick yeah I think he's a [ __ ] yeah he does yeah because he's old and Tall yeah yeah he's enormous and and and old and have to go through this at some point as well yeah I already use a walking STI me I'm dying in the 50s you say that but your walking stick's been at my house for quite sometime yeah we forgot to bring back back up on sorry about that okay so just to confirm we know they're in it we don't know anything about the script all that we know is that it's written by the guy that wrote Return of the
Jedi now if I'm not mistaken you you that's my favorite one you guys love Empire and you guys like Jedi the least am I correct yeah the first one's my favorite but yeah Jedi is definitely the least of the original I still love it yeah I love all three of them yeah right okay no one's concered here I do I I mean obviously the yeah but Kass also wrote Raider to The Last Arc which is in my opinion A Perfect movie [ __ ] how old is he now pretty old see and the good thing about writers is they get better when they get older yeah this this this could be good yeah it won't be but it it could have been the I notic one thing that sort of has upset a few people since it's been announced is um the extended Universe oh yeah definitely not Cannon like even the the
computer games which were are now no longer Canon wait the computer games made by Lucas s yeah they basically said they were overseen by George Lucas anything that is not a film doesn't count anymore I think that's great cartoon show Average Joe who's going to go and see this movie doesn't know that there's a bunch of novels and games and comics yeah see I'm okay that off I don't really care as you know I can I can I can separate the two in my head like if if I read a Star Wars book I don't think well it's got to be perfectly TI there might not be twins and Mara Jade probably won't be in it yeah what about thra what about thrawn he was in the time fighter games well they don't count either they [ __ ] Lucas has made them I know but even though they would he wouldn't be in it
anyway cuz this is set 30 years after returning a Jedi so even if they were counting that he wouldn't be in it that's a fair point 30 years after what the hell's it going to be about I don't know um the kids come to see their grandparents in nursing home right the Galaxy is at peace and everything's just nice wa there's not going to be stories about the old days they restored democracy to the Galaxy but then the people were dumb and voted in some idiot that they don't like yeah it's just it's the first three films all over again because you know history is cyclical only done well yeah but it's them trying to restore a monarchy now it's the opposite they're like oh things were actually better before yeah wait so you telling me that I'm not going to see any
x-wings or tii is is that what you're telling me no you will see versions of x-wings and tii yeah I'm sure you will because well well where's the Empire it's 30 years later there no REM left by then in my opinion they handled the timeline of all that kind of stuff pretty poorly in the original in in the prequels because they went from like yeah like oh it's 10 years later everything in the in the whole [ __ ] universe is completely different now yeah like doesn't make any doesn't make any sense and like ships that are old like the Millennium Falcon is like old and the ships in the preal don't look like that so it didn't make any sense I mean you don't see cars from 30 years ago still driving around today no well I think Dan was being sarcastic were you
being sarcastic then Dan I was just trying to make a point no but what would have made more sense if you in back what was your point these are the tiniest things to argue about oh yeah yeah you know what you're right we're stuck on the Mina who gives a [ __ ] all I care about is whether or not it's going to be any good uh I know it's not going to be but for that faint few seconds I had some I had some hope look I mean it's all going to come down to JJ isn't it because he's got a pretty he's got a pretty even 50/50 track record of good and [ __ ] yeah know well I don't like within one franchise yeah but he made Star Tre and one [ __ ] both of them see I thought the first one was great and
the second one was awful oh the second one was no near as good as the first one but it was still fun okay but imagine imagine a Star Wars movie in the caliber of that that Star Trek sequel It's still going to be better than the prequels it's still going to be better than the prequels yeah but that was a joke I don't know I I just don't want him to make this a joke well it's G to be I don't want this to be a Star Wars par look guys guys you got to understand something Star Wars got ruined the moment those prequels came out there's no coming back from it now look don't we're glossing over we're having revisionist history here because don't forget even between the first and second Star Wars there was a [ __ ] holiday special there was an animated series
that was awful and then there was the Caravan of Courage and the [ __ ] fight for Endor like there was all this shitty movies at the time I don't want to hear you there is nothing wrong with Caravan of Courage if you like Caravan of Courage but you don't like Revenge of the Sith then you would just have is selective memory that's very absolutely right yeah yeah yeah you saw caran when you were a child years I can't watch it again and we can talk okay oh wait oh no no I'm getting Recollections of scenes in it now there's there's like a like a he's like there oh that little kid and then there's Wicket and then there's a glider no no it's Wick it's terrible LED Ewok yeah you know I did say the other day a
Never Ending Story oh and it was great yeah it was great yeah we went and saw The Dark Crystal at um the Orum it was [ __ ] awesome they used to know how to make kids movies in the 80s that's for damn sure cuz I didn't talk down to you that's why although I've got something else to say on that subject but before we leave Star Wars entirely I think Luke has had an experience this week that he'd likeed to talk about oh yes I recently went because it was Star Wars day yesterday so this is really dating this episode is that a thing seriously May the 4th May the 4th be with you oh my God that's a thing now how did you avoid that you're on Facebook all the time I haven't posted anything on Facebook in a while I haven't looked at
it it I don't look at it either but yeah it was just I I haven't I haven't been very social really active lately I just okay hasn't um come up all right so to celebrate this day I actually went and saw the original trilogy at the movies uh the original trilogy very often you get to see the remastered Trilogy or the re-released one with all the [ __ ] at it in that's the one I saw the most recent I want to apologize to everyone sitting around me when I kept shaking my head and groaning and saying why God why yeah but you subjected yourself not to just one of them but all three wait so they've made film prints of the newest versions they they didn't even screen the special editions from I thought it
was going to that but no cuz I haven't when they came out in Blu-ray even though I brought up day one I still haven't watched them where did you go to see them uh Heights okay they might have just had the Blu-rays on in a on the projector or something you know what somewhere there's a cinema who has a [ __ ] film print in the freezer of they would make a fortune of the old Star Wars as it screened somebody somebody would have that somewhere like the national archives in America the national film archives asked Lucas for a copy to put it into the film history what do they call that the the [ __ ] archives the they the [ __ ] film archive like that's what they he said no he wouldn't give them a copy of it and you know what they said they said do you know who we
are we're the [ __ ] film archives give us the film the [ __ ] headpiece of the STA of RA [ __ ] that's right i' forgotten about that me too [ __ ] headpiece stuff so Luke so like you did they show them sequentially or completely out of order scen out of order no I mean as in did they show the three movies all in the one day or did you have was I could have got to see episode 1 2 and 3 on a Saturday but I was not going to subject myself to that right so I just went to see four five and six on Sunday okay so I got to listen to Boba Fett with a kiwi accent oh God they didn't they didn't
yeah yeah they did that e Wicket blinks the but the one thing that I Haven seen that yet forgot about of frity General why was he oh why is wicked blink oh I forgot about that they make him blink I need to watch cuz that's the one thing that we all thought every time we watched it why aren't the they're race and that race doesn't blink stor it's yeah end no the end yeah but the end of return gener where Luke goes oh look there's the ghost of Yoda there's the ghost of Ben and then who the [ __ ] is that yeah that's right and wait it's not is it yeah it's not wa it is but is does that mean that it's also you and McGregor no wait what so Obi-Wan gets to be an old man ghost but Anakin
has to be a boy ghost yes well it may as well be [ __ ] what's his name from the first one SK kid what's his name David prow not David yeah could be James L Jones for all I care no the little kid oh right oh oh Jesus all forgotten his name yeah you ra a good point why is Anakin Skywalker as a young version and yet Ben Kenobi is old is so it's still Alec Guinness still Alec Guinness right with Hayden Christensen beside him yeah that's that's literally nonsensical yeah I mean I know it's fiction but that is biggest logic hole it's still Sebastian Shaw when he takes the helmet off right yes yeah without his eyebrows yeah wait what I notic
actually they removed they digitally removed the eyebrows because you see in Revenge of the Sith you see them get burnt off so in order for it to be continuity they've digitally removed the eyebrows from Return of the Jedi yeah cuz they wouldn't have grown back over that period of time that's right once your eyebrows are singed they [ __ ] gone they are [ __ ] gone speaking I I mentioned somebody just a minute ago and I realized that he's he's missing from the um David PR from the cast which is not surprising because I assume Darth vad is not in this but also well in he died in the previous one yeah well he also David PR is notoriously banned from all um Star Wars related he does not speak well of George Lucas so I'm wondering if that still stands I assume
it does because well I mean Lucas has no control over that now he probably has more control over that kind of thing okay look for those people who don't know who this guy is and why him and George Lucas don't get along does someone want to explain that to the audience well David prow is a he was a bodybuilder he's Scottish and he was the man inside the Darth Vader suit in all one of sorry one of I thought he was one of no no there was another person who did the fight scenes he died last year oh right that's true yeah he the Cory for it but David PR was in the acting scenes and up until they decided to voice over him it was David PR's Voice who sounded ridiculous yeah he's Scottish yeah so you're part of the Rebel Alliance and a
traitor take it away you can find um video of that on YouTube I think and if anyone wants to know what David PR looks like uh in real life he's also in A Clockwork Orange as The Bodyguard to the author huh M well he um I I'm not sure exactly what specifically like was the straw that broke the camels back but he um he he was very angry about not being invited back for the prequels when it's actually Hayden Christensen in the suit um so he was pissed off about that but I think they were already um not speaking because he he kind of very famously mouthed off a lot in the Press I think back at the time and it's one of those things too that he leaked Secrets
out of the script this is an interesting thing you know George Lucas always says that he had a Paul planned out and everything and some people question that and then there's that famous story about how nobody knew who Darth Vader like who Luke's father was yeah except for Mark Hamill and George Lucas or sorry or EV kersner I guess um but there is an article the second one was written by woman the second Star Wars yeah The Empire Strikes Back sorry yeah of course was it seriously a a woman who wrote it are you sure yeah yeah I'm absolutely sure it would explain why that film has a lot more emotional resonance but it's Lee braet it's Lee braet who wrote oh right um she wrote famously several episodes of Murder She Wrote she was uh no she's an
Academy of ordering she she wrote uh the Big Sleep uh and a whole bunch of other porkys that was one of hers it wasn't was it Bly Hills Cop 3 that was her no no wrote I'm reading this straight from IMDb Dan you're not she wrote westons and film noirs back in the uh the 40s and 50s right and um shriek give you know what I did last Friday the 13th on Halloween that classic parody um there's an article that I will I will attempt to find and put in the show notes so people can see it that was in a newspaper um in between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back and it's an interview with David PR saying yes there is we're going to make another one Star Wars 2 in which Luke finds out that my character Darth Vader is his father and
he has to deal with that oh and that's that came yeah that's an a newspaper article from from like 1970 or something I think 70 yeah it's it's probably not as it's probably not as early as 1970 but it's pretty when when stars come out 7 77 well that's probably not 70 yeah no but I know the one I know the one you mean not only is he a terrible actor but he right pretty you know halfway halfway through filming the first one um when George was commissioning alen Dean Foster to do the novelization for it he also commissioned him to do a an unofficial sequel as well which they published as a novel that same year called Splinter of the Mind's Eye yeah which is basically what happens next and
if he couldn't get the money to do two more and do this kind of huge thing he was going to have that one as the standby oh that's the that but in that isn't it there's like a crystal yeah the car Crystal which was originally part of the story line when it was uh what was it called Luke it was um trial of the wills or something the original the original script and it was Journal of the Journal of the wheels and it was them looking for the carb Crystal yeah the story the plot was very different yeah very different basically the splin of the mind's eye is just about luk and Leia um Han's not a character because at that point only Mark and Carrie had signed on to do more films and and Harrison Ford hadn't so he said don't Rite him into the next
one right well it's been 33 minutes and we've talked nothing about Star Wars can we please not talk anymore about Star Wars ah it's great to be talking Star Wars again God please let's move on I'm actually surprised at how long Dave that you managed to continue on this conversation was you you've been participating the whole time well I was looking for an in to talk about TIE fighter but I I just couldn't find it you couldn't find a seg TIE fighter no I just we just kept jumping so quickly I just like well here's one for you here's one for you the storyline for TIE fighter doesn't count anymore well I know and it's really upsetting because I've just been recently playing through TIE fighter again in the REM mastered editions which not many people know
about that actually got re-released on the X-Wing verse TIE fighter engine which Luke as you know uh used all better graphics that were all texture mapped from the actual um the actual Starships in Star Wars so they look pretty cool and uh it works uh completely well on the USB uh joysticks and throttles and uh it uh gently reminded me over the last week that I've been playing it how great video games used to be and how [ __ ] terrible they are now guys you think there are any episodes of this podcast where Dave doesn't remember how great video games used to be we should go back and count because I'm dead I don't want to do that listeners new competition the story go back and do you Reon like multiple cargasm there's guys going oh I just
remember how great cars used to be and cars today just aren't the same you've given me a great segue for an article that I'm about to paste in um look I'm not kidding I'm telling telling you right now it's complex it's fun it's engaging the story is good it's just better than gam do car what Matt what is that what is Doge car not not more Doge not more Doge man what is this y I'm cing link my God this just in uh what not just then actually um I guess this isn't so much news but I just found out about it um it says here yesterday at 4:06 p.m. yeah there was a there was a Dogecoin car in NASCAR uh it it was it was running is this yesterday yesterday mhm and it was
in seventh place and it finished in 20th Place so so F there's an amazing animated gift in the comments of that article you scroll down which is the view from yeah there is it's great with Doge the show so good can I ask how many how many such car how many cars are on a race track in NASCAR like if you 20th that doesn't sound like a particularly great placing I have no idea how many cars I'm going to be honest that's sort of middle of the pack I think I know nothing about nasar you're telling me Nascar has 40 cars on the track yep I'm trying to count the best they go past now how many cars in in NASCAR I can't believe 30 we're going to have to put and nasar into the notes of
this week's 43 cars like honestly was very CL if you had told me two years ago that I'd be on a podcast that discuss NASCAR yeah Not only would I wouldn't believe you but I would just you'd never have signed on there was no way I would have signed on to it no there are 43 cars in a in a that's a lot you're right [ __ ] a Sprint Cup is [ __ ] hell it happens a lot right just don't rele me when I'm right well I'm going to highlight my little TIE fighter thing cuz apparently you're not allowed to have an opinion about how much better games used to be so I'll just highlight that you can have it well look I mean if we're going to be talking about uh remaking things from the 80s let's talk about The Goonies 2o Goonies 2 with original cast original director and original
producer all of them all of the cast yeah all of the well I'm surprised some aren't dead to be honest what of AIDS no just like child actors always end up getting into drugs and killing themselves I'm waiting for the day M corny C that's true in fact one of the cories died just not the Corey that was in Goonies yeah gone either way yeah but um Spielberg is in Richard Doner is in huh and apparently the boys are in Sean Austin said he was a th% sure that the sequel will happen Richard Don has said he is also a th% certain I'm not sure the maths adds up on that one but um he's not a he's not a mathematician though he's a director so that's right but apparently Spielberg has written the script and it's a
go I don't want to alarm anyone but I literally just ripped my entire toenail off I'm not alarmed but I'm kind of grossed out does that count it really hurts maybe you should just leave it just leave it oh it really hurt yeah I don't I think you've misunder misunderestimated I think you misunderestimated I think you've mistaken how relevant that is to um The Goonies too I I have yeah yeah sorry I actually was never really a fan of The Goonies um oh really yeah made they made him want to rip his toenails off yeah one of my absolute favorite movies from I think I saw it once and there was some fat kid doing a hola shake or something and then some weird looking freak dude and I was the ultimate boys Adventure movie really
yeah yeah looking for Treasure there's a lot of plot holes in it but it's a good movie all right okay so uh excitement leveled down from 1 to a thousand that's right yep well I must say I'm more excited for the sequel to goon than name to the sequel of Mrs Doubtfire take it back what go on I don't know what hav you heard about this no a sequel to Mrs Doubtfire and Robin Williams will be back she can't he he can't fool his family again with the same character like they realized it was him it's not going to work it's not going to work yeah no I want to watch it I'm a completely different person oh hello it's me I'm back's twin sister but but Mrs downfire was our
dad he was like too I'm your dad's twin brother also in drag oh God why why would they make what happened to Robin Williams like really where's he been he's just been waiting for this wellow he's still trying to get over Bicentennial Man oh [ __ ] I didn't even watch yeah oh God awful well um I'm just trying to find I um I saw that uh Godzilla trailer oh yeah that I think I saw a newer one than the one I saw before I was like that's a good review go on I was like f-22s are falling into the water why why F22 is falling into the water well I assume he he blasts them
with his there was a big monster thing and it was on the ocean and there was an aircraft carrier and it looked it looked kind of fun it looked kind of fun yeah Godzilla he apparently will fight another monster in it which is [ __ ] awesome a there you go there is a there is a mysterious flying monster that Godzilla will fight yeah make no mistake I mean make no mistake it's garbage and I would never pay to watch it but I will inevitably see that film um it's garbage with a lot of legitimate actors in it and it looks awesome so how the [ __ ] did they get that dude from Breaking Bad yeah well he doesn't do Breaking Bad anymore he's still got to pay the bills through that through that but he was probably commanding a million dollars in episode
I'm sure he does I'm pretty sure his bills are probably paid forever yeah dude like by the last season he probably be getting a million dollars an episode I bet he just said they said oh do you like Godzilla he went [ __ ] yeah Godzilla's awesome he and they said do you want to be in it he went yep yep yeah I think the way it works in Hollywood is that they go hey you already got enough money yeah I got tons would you like tons more yeah yeah the Godzilla movie sure apparently Nicholas Cage is in another [ __ ] film it's horrendous [ __ ] just the one down yeah like who keeps giving this guy work I don't I oh you know he's a cou yeah I wonder if he chose not to use the name
or his family forbid him from using the name uh I'm not I'm not really sure what the story is there H all I know is there's still quite a bit gone no no I just uh I did see a good movie this week um on television uh it's called Adam uh it's about a guy with Asbergers and he uh meets an upstairs neighbor who is the delightfully gorgeous personification of female Perfection Rose Burn uh and uh Matt can you insert into this segment oh yeah Dave's previous comments about roseburn I can things I would do to roseburn yeah if anyone's a new listener we once had a one-off segment called things I would do to
roseburn posted by Dave y I would take that and I would and I would juicy wet and as I'm I would and jam it whoa delicious and then why is that happening hold on this is what you want to do to Rose Burn and then as she why you would take like wait wait let him finish yeah so as I take my hands and so tightly into a and then I would take my explode what once they fell out of it
yeah yeah yeah that's that's uh that's the things I would do to Rose bur and uh after hearing that s i stand by those those comments I I would yeah I would destroy her um why are you hitting her in the back why is that happening yeah it's complicated Dan I have complicated for I have very complicated feelings for her I still don't see it um uh that's because true beauty alludes You Luke um yeah I'm not that into her either Luke but then they're not into the girls we like so that's fine yeah yeah that's true that's fair that's that's fair um so the movie is about uh gu with thatb she the she's the neighbor uh they form a friendship and eventually a romantic relationship um and it just sort of follows really that doesn't sound like a
movie boring anyway I I thought it's uh how many explosions are there there's not explosions not a sing the monsters fight what monsters fight monsters there must be some the monster is is the the the monster within man is and the challenges he faces every oh like an alien no like like a chest burster yes as is like his chest burster which he has to try and hold in and uh it's wait can I he has Aspergers and and this is the guy from Hannibal that also has Aspergers in that but he's really branching out seen Hannibal all right but I'm just saying that the film Adam if you like good films quality films then you will enjoy this movie it's a it's it's a nice tale It's Not Over sentimental and it doesn't have one of those ridiculous broad
statement if you like films that you like you might like this fil if you like good films you will like this movie trust me I don't do kind of poison isn't it bit of an EMP new cloth kind of what is just about anymore I don't know I don't I just feel like whatever I say it's just that's not right no I don't know what you want first you say I I never like anything then I finally say that I do like a film and that's just I don't know what you want me to do I'm well just keep swapping because it used to be that you loved films and like sorry that Matt just loved films and you hated and then it got to the point where Matt just [ __ ] shut on any film that got brought up and now it's inverted again so there's always has to be one person who just logic to this podcast
it's different every week that's keeping us fresh yeah that's right we keep the audience guessing oh God I actually saw a movie that I enjoyed the other week yeah I went how many villains SPID how many villains does this one have though I think it's got all of them is that out two. 2.2 how can you have a villain what one of the villains isn't a main character oh okay please tell me it's not rhino because he looked ridiculous um yeah everyone if you're got to go see it go see it if not the couple of spoilers yet Rhino's in it for like 2 minutes at the end of the movie
wait that's what I you if you're going to go see it go see it that's that's that's not even a statement but what is that what is this what is this and no one said a thing I the last review we got was if you like good movies this is a good one I don't know what's going on yeah but I think what made this movie probably better was Emma Stone being in it cuz yeah you like Rose Burn I love Emma Stone that's cuz you like into emst you like children Luke that's what you like you like young children like Jesus Christ you like her and you like the chck from kickass they're the kind of girls you like look is is the film good Luke did you like the movie I did enjoy it you don't need to know if you like it if you want to see it Matt see it there I will it's
Spider-Man I'm going to watch it but I've heard I've heard it's not very good I'm not mutually exclusive it can be not good and he still enjoyed it yeah that's true yes but I've heard that it's not good that's what I've heard you you will enjoy it well bear in mind I didn't enjoy the first one I did not I enjoyed the first one as well there was a you know how a lot of in the movies now they've got the little snippet of things to coming up in different movies this one was a bit weird because they actually had a snippet of the new X-Men movie at the end right really as you know X-Men's Fox and Sony has Spider-Man huh and Marvel just wants them both back yeah yeah but what it came about from it wasn't
actually uh oh look what might be happening soon the director of Spider-Man um does anyone remember who that is Mark web wait wait what Mark Webb the guy who directs Spider-Man is named Mark Webb I I'm pretty sure Mark web it's terrific yeah Mark web yeah well he's actually meant to be doing some work with Fox right and so they sort of because he really wanted he directed the first Spider-Man he really wanted to do the second one so they came to an agreement and what that agreement was is Fox basically get free advertising of the new X-Men movie in the Spider-Man movie H wait so you're saying there's an X-Man in Spider-Man which one yes there's um at the end crit it's Mystique who's mystique and is Mystique played
by whoever Mystique is played by Jennifer Lawrence Jennifer Lawrence that's the one yes isn't isn't she not a mutant anymore uh no she is didn't she get hit with some weird serum that made her not mutant no she didn't she didn't take it no stabbed with it stabbed yeah which which wait wait which X-Men are you talking about X-Men are you talking about first class I don't know that they they developed a cure and then she got shot with it the they was talking about the original talking about okay there's two okay the confusing thing is going to be with the new X-Men it takes place no all right I'm gonna I'm gonna spare you I'm gonna spare you I don't care I'm not going to watch them they're terrible I don't even
want to know I've got I don't want to fill my head with incessantly like just stupid garbage all right right at the end of Xmen alate timelines though at the end of X-Men 3 Magneto moves a chest piece with without touching it therefore indicating that The Cure is not actually aure so we can assume that they all still have their powers eventually right is Rose Burn in it well I mean if they didn't wouldn't be much of a movie that's right yeah and also called the men and also X-Men first Class which is also where part of this new film takes place it in the 60s before any of that happened and Mystique was young so she still has powers then as well yeah she um roseburn is not in any of the planned X-Men films com just tell him just tell
him yes yes she is she's in all of them y she plays all the characters in them all of them yeah all right so no roseburn um completely convoluted plot that mixes between several different story lines and arcs and all that stuff in other words I'm not going to see it probably not y there you go surprise but I don't think you're Their audience no apparently not apparently not you like good mov oh okay let's change t a bit if if you if we'd like sure you want to change t a bit sure um I don't because I I have one more question for Dan okay okay go um uh
about a little little story uh about uh about a man and a boat and uh I do recall asking you to take one for the team and uh go watch Noah yeah so I did my homework and I went and saw Noah mhm all right now before I tell you my experience with this film let's just open it up to the crowd what you guys tell me what you think Noah might be about the film Noah what what what would you have expected well I in the last 20 minutes will be the flood and the first hour is everyone calling him crazy and him rising up or trying to protect his family from a king and it just really being like a sort of action kind of flick that's what I was thinking I think I think it'd be more about him just trying to Source a lot of wood CU it'd
be hard to get that much W to that's fair that's fair Matt I assume I assume it was just two hours of of a boat floating around and then him sending out doves and then then just coming back and him two giraffe heads poking out of holes behind him yeah exactly and then his Emma Emma Watson coming up and going and he land yet and he's like no okay well what if I told you Noah is post-apocalyptic science fiction no mention of God no indication that this even takes place on Earth uh anachronistic uh are there people in it then there are people in it y pretty good chance it's set on Earth then no they pan back they pan back from Earth and it's not an earth that you recognize there
are huge rock monsters that help Noah build the arc whoa back up this sounds like something I want to see Powers it is more like a Mad Max movie than a biblical story what really it is why is it not being marketed like this it's not being marketed like this because if that's what they said no one would go and [ __ ] see it yeah but how have I not even heard I would have seen it upset that it's that I could church people going to see it and coming out and going that's not Noah well because the churchgoers actually aren't going to go and see this because they're already up in arms about them even making a movie of it and apparently they don't like that that's Noah Noah but they don't mention God or Christianity
or anything in it they have their own mythology that is kind of based on the biblical like a parable of the actual original story kind of thing well funny because at times this movie does get a little silly and when it does it's got giant moners that help him build a boat no no see no no no that's where you're wrong that's those parts are amazing it gets silly when it tries to tie back too much into the Bible story right yeah right now the animals on the ark are not animals you've ever seen they're weird creatures what yeah so they're not deer and and pigs and stuff they're just weird yep see this movie now yeah so do I don't get me wrong there's still a lot of like
drama in it and and and kind of this kind of why is that bad Christian no no no no no I'm just saying drama there's actually substantive content you may not viewers beware that mean boring bits no but I'm just saying like it's not it's not all [ __ ] explosions and rock monsters [ __ ] off there's no read a manual for 15 minutes on how to build a boat cuz Matt is out that's good you should see it it's funny it's funny how they work into the story line why it's not incest that they're all going to have to [ __ ] each other when they get to land oh my God I want I want to spoil it now I I need to know that answer well no no it's a really simple plot device but so it's
Noah and his kids right yeah two boys and a girl yep but she's an adopted daughter oh right right and they just have to put this little 5minute scene where they adopt the girl so that later on you're not going well hang on they're all going to have to [ __ ] wait so he's about their kids him or his son are going to [ __ ] the daughter who's adopted her children will still be related to them related to everybody there yeah and then so that doesn't no no I think that fails the basic biology test no I'm not I'm not saying I'm a scientist but that still sounds like insense just saying Dan that movie sounds [ __ ] amazing I want to see it now yeah it's pretty interesting wow I feel bad now because I I was like ah D's gonna hate
this funny because I I went saw this by myself it was a Tuesday afternoon I'd finished work early for the day and I was driving back and I was thinking about it and I was like [ __ ] I'm going to go and see it so I just pulled into the cinema here at Orbin I was the only one in the cinema mhm and I experienced Noah wellow there you go [ __ ] hell I really want to see it I want to see it pretty interesting well if Noah hasn't outright outraged Christians um something that will Y is uh is happening in Oklahoma at the moment um the the Oklahoma State House uh for those who don't know I I didn't so I had to look this up that's where you know they have like legislative
meetings and things yep like a town hall yeah you know like where the mayor calls his meetings and all that kind of business uh it's a government building right so it has no religious affiliation technically speaking and it shouldn't have you're not supposed to they're not allowed to put up religious stuff religious iconography is banned in government institutions except in the state of Oklahoma one of the um um who was it the gentleman oh state representative donated a statue that represented the Ten Commandments and it was placed outside the state house and their argument was well we didn't pay for it he paid for it and donated it ah so okay so some s got got upset so the local Church of Satan said oh well that's fine
uh well we'd like to donate a statue as well so of you guys going to see a picture of put show notes because this is an evil looking [ __ ] statue yeah like you're like if you're imagining something like cutesy no this is a [ __ ] this is the goat King himself it's bam it with two children worshipping at his feet yeah so they um they they had an Indiegogo campaign um they wanted to raise 20 grand so that they could make a bronze statue of this um they ended um at nearly 30,000 and so now they've got a a sculptor creating the statue uh now because they have already received a lot of death threats and and notice is saying we will destroy this thing if you put it there yeah they've said well that's fine because we're making a mold
of it and because of the insurance policy every time you destroy one we'll have enough money to make two more so so go ahead um and uh there's actually there's apparently there's a big legal dispute going on now about whether the original 10 Ten Commandments statute is allowed to remain and that kind of thing and they've basically said well that's fine we're happy to just put our statue there when it's finished and then once that's all resolved if they say his statue has to go we'll take ours away as well take because obviously if they decide that his statue can stay then you know they can't decide on religious grounds that ours has to go so so it'll all be fine wow it's uh so just for you listeners you should go through
the show notes and definitely check out the picture of that because it is a disturbing pretty disturbing picture I don't know why there's two kids in it but it freaks me out yeah oh well they're um they're just kind of you know looking up to him now I know we're running I mean it's a p time uh so uh I I believe we've got a segment this week Dan do we have a segment we do but if we've if we've talked enough and we don't need it we could just hold it off next week I'm pretty excited Dan I I want this segment it's uh what do you guys reckon General consensus I think it's good to end on a segment segment I also want to just before we go to this segment I want to just throw something out there to the audience M now I've actually I got a new tattoo
recently and I'm r a new bit of a tattoo kick and I'm booked in for my next one too it happens when you get one you really want to get another one straight away thing is I'm not really good at drawing [ __ ] so what I want our audience to do is maybe to try and come up with some ideas for me to get tattooed on my body nice I've got one already now it's not basically the only winner is if I like it I will get it tattooed on me so yeah that sounds like as vague as your other competitions too Luke so that's fine I'll allow it makes no sense no one can possibly enter if Luke will eventually forget about it and nothing will happen no no no I hope something does come of this I'm going to submit one it's going to be
the four of us in a gay pose and I want Luke to get it right across his back I got to got to help some people out so I'm I'm a bit of a Star Wars fan um Robotech um I was a Seager more more than a Nintendo fan but I do like Zelda so draw something and I might get a tattooed on me nice that's it well they got to draw it as well can't they just come up with an idea and I mean come on if they think of something cool if think something cool yeah if you you think of something cool post it and let me know and it might come about that reminds me of something that was supposed every week and we keep forgetting to do and that is to tell people how they can get in contact with us well now seems like a good time because they're going to want to know
where they can submit their entries to luk tattoo competition exactly the best way generally speaking because we most of us will see it is on Facebook so if you go to facebook.com/ multipl nerdgasm that's our page like it and then comment um you can get us on Twitter we are twitter.com nerd GM I'm on there a bit so you know tweet at us and I'll I'll get that on oh you get that on your phone too don't you Luke yeah I do so Luke will get your your comments if you send them on Twitter um but don't let's just just put them on the Facebook just put them in one place all right all right but but people don't have Facebook that's you know some people are really really precious and don't like okay yeah well look and if you don't have any of that stuff that you can just email us at
podcast multipl nerdgasm if they don't have a Twitter or a Facebook don't have email either so just mail it well I wouldn't go that far or just ring 04 did you just read my mobile number out on the podcast all right I'm telling you right nowt minute text your entries to and someone will get back to you [ __ ] swear to God Dan I'm telling you right now 104 the whole entire [ __ ] minutes and better be [ __ ] R I can't wait for the day that that accidentally slips through and goes out there it better not I I do not want to listen to this [ __ ] audience I don't want to hear from them I don't want to see them but you should dial o for if you really want to talk to
someone interesting all right so uh without any further Ado Let's uh let's get into the segments all right well we've we've talked a lot about movies and specifically REM makes in this episode which is fitting because the new segment for today is called I can't believe it's not a movie o and uh basically the rules are that I'm going to submit to you a couple of existing intellectual properties M and you guys much like a group of Studio executives are going to have to discuss what the movie would be okay so I'm going to give you three things I'm going to give you a video game a book mhm and a toy all of which uh you know a really common uh Wells to
dip into for contemporary films and uh I want you to come up with uh what the story Line's going to be yep who the stars are going to be and they and who the characters are and who's going to direct it you know is this going to be a Michael Bay epic is it going to be a West Anderson Indie um and what the what the movie is going to be so I want you to basically just discuss it amongst yourselves okay all right yeah so the first first one will go the toy mhm and you're going to go you guys are going to come up with Slinky the movie all right oh those of you who don't know Slinky Big Spring okay y okay it's going to be a Pixar like animated Adventure Good Start uh it's going to have to be
uh okay now the slinky uh he's a toy from the 1980s doesn't get played with very much anymore um so he is basically sitting with a bunch of other abandoned toys and I've just described Toy Story I yeah so okay okay we were we were halfway that's good just thinking inside the box but yeah yeah yeah okay so all right how about he he uh he um he falls in love has to save the world somhow okay all right is it going to be an action film do we want to action film like a like a drama would bhip like Battleship it's uh yeah I like the way you're thinking Matt you want to do a
live yeah no no no so all right we giant Slinky attack city go on yeah yeah yeah so there's a there's a there's a shadow yep uh Over the Horizon 's looking up cylindrical shadow kind of yeah there's a cylindrical shadow and the this this giant cylinder yeah kind of hovers into place above does it h because the whole thing about Slinky is that it walks bear with me bear with me getting there it HS the capital building hovers above the capital building obviously and and then there's one over the White House and there's one over the [ __ ] CNE yeah yeah yeah I'm like and then and suddenly at an appointed time as everybody's looking up in Wonder the slinky just start bouncing up and down and crushing all the buildings and and
destroying everything right and when when when it hit the ground it's a thunderous kind of like a cre earthquak like it's quite devastating so it's going to be like disaster porn film yeah man yeah exactly yeah okay so it's disaster porn okay we need a star in here who's kind of washed up but is is is still still bankable in some way so so you're not just handing it straight to Will Smith no no no we're not giving it to will we're not giving to will um okay guys who who do you think is going to fit this role a little washed up um you know you know what [ __ ] it let's put won in this yeah all right let's put CHR Walkin plays the Jeff Goldblum character well yeah yeah okay walkon plays a scientist who um who originally invented the slinky um uh and has been
called out of retirement because he's the only one who knows the the the physical flaw of the slinky yeah Slinky was invented in the 40s so he'd be pretty old but I'm willing to go with it yeah okay all right well you know get him out of cryo free it's a movie about giant slink is destroying cities I don't no no so they shoot these little these little cylindrical pods out of the big Slinky down into like the streets and people are like what the hell is that and it bursts open and little slinkies come out and start like like rolling and flipping everywhere and choking everybody yeah people choke allies yeah they like drill through you yeah yeah they kill you they they're deadly they deadly so they are the metal slinkies they're not the new plastic
ones no of course not no no so maybe yeah so these are sort of oh these slinkies are the original slinkies from you have to tangle them you have to tangle them that's their weakness a so that's how they get them in the end but that's that's what w comes up with now he's kind of though isn't he Matt because he's he's an old he's he's like is he going to be like a dock character like from Back to the Future is he going to be a bit crazy a bit zany or is he going to be really serious no he's he's he's zany and he builds this big harpoon F andom of Slinky and drag the bottom of it up over itself to tangle it all up kind of like in Empire Strikes Back okay cool all right and that's that's how they defeat them that's Howen in the in the bank it's green lit then great yeah
oh we green movie we green l in movie boys I can't believe this is finally happened moving on well done boys you did well you did well number two let's go to a video game oh this is how it's done boys we just fly through them MH y okay your video game to film adaptation mhm you guys are working on the Candy Crush Saga [ __ ] you I've never played Candy Crush Saga justed it's bed okay oh it's beded it's bed okay so with candy all right so [ __ ] all right we got to go live action again we're going to have to think outside the box for this one guys we're really going think this one would definitely have to be animated yeah oh just the bright colors yeah but I mean [ __ ] where are we okay okay like let's just rip off
Pokemon and have kids transported into the magical world of Candy Crush where no even I can't go through with this we need something else we [ __ ] all right let's get a let's get a director on board first and let's work back okay okay uh I who do we want I want who do I want I've got it I've got it it's Fincher it's the story of it's the story of the making of the game and it's a social network style Thriller right yeah yeah okay so you're saying it's about the Beed people in who are yeah popcast litigating against and they hav mean they're like we it's nearly ready Beed five is nearly ready like here here's the presentation
and then someone burst in and they're like you're not going to [ __ ] believe this and he like changes the channel and it's like headline news like new released best game in the whole world Candy Crush Saga so can we can we maybe add a bit of drama to this can we maybe have the game have such a profound impact on modern society that people stop going to work and things start falling apart maybe we can sort of follow this Flappy Bird like like in real life Flappy Bird yeah yeah so like so things take a turn for the worst and Society starts to collapse because of this this stupid video game umh and who's going to be in it who's going to be in it I don't know we sort of got two different directions now I'm a bit confused as to where the story is now
well things go bad and then somehow there needs to be a resolution so come up with a resolution so that's so so the one we're going people aren't going to work anymore because of this game what if it turns out that the Candy Crush Saga is actually an Ancient Order of monks who have got these ancient Scrolls that need to be deciphered so they put the cipher into the and usuck to solve the Sion it stars Tom Hanks who uncovers the secret that is so perfect you got to haveall in there somewhere too Dan you got to like this oh it's sold I'm I'm totally sold say the words so they they're kind of Outsourcing people's video game addictions to solve this centuries old Cipher to discover good or bad discover the tomb of Noah
from it'll be really high contrast and a little green in tone yeah perfect done all right well done boys last one a book and the book that you've got to adapt into a film oh here we go Paul riser's couplehood oh my God got a copy of that book on my I think we've got two of them here yeah we do I've never read it okay it's never stopped us before it's never stopped any Studio exec before Luke well I don't want to I don't want to Dan but Mad About You y That's it right okay reboot okay no that's fine reboot for 2014 what would mad about you look like in 2014 mie based on the Mad About You concept where he's a smalltime director and God knows what she did um and uh she gets brutally murdered in a ritualistic
murder by like a serial killer um and uh that is why it's called mad about you like he's mad he's mad about it mad all right and there's actually a scene in it where he finally in the last scene F he confronts the bad guy the he confronts the Killer and says I am so mad about you I am mad I'm so angry about this exactly exactly ex it's not going to have poor riser in it no of course cuz it's a reboot you can't ever have the the same characters so who are we going to cast I wonder if star Luke and Kristen Stewart oh imagine that Luke is married to Kristen Stewart she gets murdered and he has to begrudgingly Revenge her death because they think it was him like in The Fugitive oh yeah or gor girl the new fin
movie that's about to come out oh [ __ ] I would watch the [ __ ] out of that movie I don't even know if I'd want to be in it that' be perfect be perfect Luke because you know you could shave your beard like he like he does in The Fugitive oh yes and try and blend in stuff with this role man you got to you can Branch out you SE a guy who's 6' one brown hair and a beard every time I look in the mirror except for the [Laughter] beard although you if if they said ah did you kill Christen St you'd be like yep no but I wanted to in fact look if let's be honest if Kristen Stewart turns up dead you're the first door they're going to knock on that's true Su all the [ __ ] he said publicly about her yeah oh dear well done boys it's uh it's
three summer Blockbusters yeah well done well done all we need now is a jingle all it takes all we need a jingle now boys off you go I can't believe it's not a movie nice that's all for this week thank you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please subscribe and item to receive episodes automatically we'll see you next time
