I just want to put out there a lot of podcasts are now copying us welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy in what way something we have been doing for many many years all these other podcasts start to jump on the bandwagon they start to record over Skype and then put it out yeah so you think that we pioneered social distancing I think we did yeah cuz we did not want to be near Luke no near me that's a good point when did we start doing Skype it wasn't even when we weren't even overseas when we started I think it must have been when Luke moved to cber that happened first right yeah

yeah I was in cber and then it just got a bit too hard cuz I was coming up once a month and we're recording like four at a time and then we worked out if we record on Skype we can record once a week yeah and also so the sound quality was infinitely better because whenever we recorded in a room we would just talk over each other and it was just garbage and then someone would always drum on the table the uh the microphones we had when we did it all together were better than the microphones 50% of us had when we split up and just used our own gear that's true so it did take a little while to uh listeners equalize the garbage we recorded this podcast on for the first probably like 50 to 100 episodes M like if you think you need

expensive gear to make a podcast you do not didn't um a BIM Bam record on like Guitar Hero microphones or something orand microphones great for the first few episodes well you could record on your phone and make a podcast yeah yep in fact I've actually been on my phone for podcasts when I was in America yeah technology come a long way I guess we were we're the Pioneers people do ask me a lot I think we mentioned this before how how we do it cuz they know we're all in different countries MH and I'm like explain I'm not going to give away the secrets on the podcast am I now you just record your end of the conversation and then just stick them all together at the end and everyone's like oh Matt does it first then he sends his bits to me I

think of witty things to say in between the gaps try to leave enough gaps for Luke then I send both of those to him yep and then I record my pits so much effort no way that would happen we should try that one day 10 minute episode that's almost like uh I I rewatched uh well may as well talk about this I rewatched the force awakens earlier in the week um and then I then I watched its direct sequel the rise of Skywalker yeah TR strange I went with a two movies instead of the standard Trilogy honestly there's nothing because there's one point where he says something about snoke and he goes I killed snoke okay caught up officially caught up he does he straight up says I killed

snoke yeah you do not need to and there's you know there's bits where Ry remembers things Luke said to her it's like they've got you covered you never have to watch that movie again mind you on a second watch and watching them back to back rise of Skywalker is no the force awakens now the F awakens captured something like I don't know it really did it it really did and then back to back they're very different uh it's it's still enjoyable and it was still a perfectly good way to to wrap up the series but uh man the force awakens is probably in my top four favorite Star Wars movies it's definitely up there for me that was the only one I went and saw multiple times at the movies even rise of Skywalker I only saw the once wanted

to go back of the new ones yes of the new ones I know how many times you saw Phantom men Phantom Menace saw that three times on the first date it didn't get better I know but I think I saw a New Hope like 20 times when they did that re-release of that oh like the in the '90s that one in the '90s oh wow yeah I went to I went to that once I I mean I went to all of the special editions once once with special edition something they were called yeah yeah yeah it's it feels weird to call them that now cuz they're so old yeah that can't of been the new one the special editions have been around for millions of years it's only 23 years since they came

out I'll say this though C3PO is uh the best character in Rise of Skywalker uh yep unless you want to count Babu Frick who is also terrific and they like B freak [ __ ] off what I did not like Bubba freak I don't know what everyone sees in this thing he is you didn't like him he did he did enough for you to love him Dan and enough for you to hate him and he's in it for like two seconds yeah and all he really says is yeah your Droid is ready but not in English but then he also does that little chei as the ship flies Bobby Frick my oldest friend it's cuz they knew everyone was going to love him they're like oh he's going to go yeah and everyone else in the AUD is going to go

yeah except for Luke is like [ __ ] you yeah I didn't get it St trying to beute he's a tiny little person with huge hands he fixes robots yeah what's not to like it's not that I don't like him I well I don't like him but I don't dislike him I he's nothing to me the little alien creature hurt at some point show me on this doll where babo freck touched you it's a doll of BU hands oh you'd love a do I would actually I would definitely get one if there is one no one want no one's letting up for my baby Yoda one toy anymore speaking of we got some followup uh yet another baby Yoda toy has beaten you to Market you got to you got to get move on mate dude you're you're losing money over fist here I me for some to pay me

what if what you got like 20 grand in R&D money this thing looks [ __ ] great I've just open it yes it does he's so cute I mean he looks a bit plasticky where I feel like he's he's supposed to be a bit snugger than mine wouldn't be plastic some latex type material that I would learn how to make all right need that $10,000 yeah listeners what are you doing patreon.com multi gasm this one's $410 so slight difference I mean it's it's considerably cheaper than what Luke's asking for but I don't think I'd pay $400 plus do for a [ __ ] doll they do have a a seven-month payment plan I mean is this doll going to suck my dick I just want you to remember I came out

with that price based off what someone charged Disney for at 5 million so I was coming out undercutting them and now everyone's just coming out and undercut me yeahh yeah it's free market mate that's Lazo Fair capitalism they do have a they have a payment plan you can pay $52.79 a month until it's released sometime in quarter 4 and then you get one quarter four which quar what does that mean uh so anywhere from it's anywhere from September to March next year you could get it yeah cuz that says all first quarter 2021 at the end there okay they've just added that on so is that how we say dates now we yeah we just say quarters I think that's how they they say in business oh first quarter what okay you never heard that I'm not in

business so I don't know yeah true I'm not in business either I just watch movies where they say it I guess what movies do you watch oh you know business movies yeah like uh don't know I watched a business movie during the week I watched that one where um what's that guy was fat and funny and now he's really weird now that he's thin oh Jonah Hill Jonah Hill I watched a movie where Jonah Hill uh bought bullets from the Chinese and sold them to the Americans in Iraq oh is that good I saw all the time it was pretty good yeah that you like business movies was that movie being advertised when the force awakens was on because I for some reason I've seen that trailer multiple times maybe cuz I watched them both this week

so it it does mean both of them them are on the torrent SES at the same time so yeah maybe cuz I just know that I've seen that the trailer for that a bunch of times which usually only happens if I saw a movie at the movies multiple times yeah so back in the days of movie pass yes oh yeah it could have been uh Blade Runner I saw that a few times a Blade Runner 2049 I watched a movie this week uh Captain Ron have you familiar with Captain Ron no um Google it yeah I'm Googling it now stupid okay uh Mountain short Kurt Russell Kurt Russell y uh this was recommended To Us by one of Jenna's co-workers who lent us the DVD and we watched from the late 80s or early '90s

y it's a comedy is it where martinw inherits a boat from his uncle okay and then sails it in the Caribbean and Kurt Russell gets hired as the captain he's ay onee Martin Short plays the straight man and uh Martin Short plays the straight man and Kurt Russell plays the comedy relief what the [ __ ] I got to say really mixing it up it was pretty entertaining it's like it's really stupid but it was it was pretty entertaining you know I watched uh The Three Amigos a few weeks ago um and I'll still stand by that that that is one of the most perfectly scripted films ever structurally it's it's just perfect there is still a couple of Parts where it just goes off the rails bit where there's like the Invisible Man and the

that comes out of [ __ ] nowhere that comes out of they could just lift that out of the film and it would anyway but what really struck me about it though is that Chevy Chase is the straight man he does the least he is just so Stone Face during that movie and I'm just not used to seeing him do so little well check out Captain Ron where you can see uh M short do the same thing probably won't man yeah fair enough Matt will send you the DVD don't play a DVD it's not mine to send that's I had to rip it no would watch it I literally ripped it on my computer well your computer has a DVD drive my new one does H well your new computer has a DVD drive yeah well because I bought I told you I bought did I did we mention this mention you've gone back to

to back to Windows yeah I'm on Windows right now yeah I got a it's it's an X lease uh dell um Precision workstation so it's got back to Dell it's got a DVD drive and it's got It's like a Zeon [ __ ] processor and [ __ ] and it it's uh it's pretty fast H and it was cheap and it works it does it works [ __ ] great it's rock solid yeah I swapped out the power supply and the the graphics card and it's got 32 gig ram in it oh yeah it's a [ __ ] workstation it's great I remember when the computer I wanted more than anything else in the world was a 486dx that had eight Meg of ram yeah I know I know I had the dx33 and my friend had a DX 266 and I was like oh yeah so jealous yeah yeah and

then my dad went and bought a Pentium 90 and I was like [ __ ] I remember having to when we all shared a video card oh yeah 3D effects yeah I had that I still have it do you yes it's in a box somewhere that you have to PL video card into on the back yep I still I still don't really understand how the [ __ ] that worked but man that video card was a [ __ ] we passed her around oh yeah but remember every time it changed resolution it would click there was no moving Parts on it but it would click yeah you're right man I remember the first time I saw Quake 2 at Dave's house with that 3D effects card I was like [ __ ] yeah and then Google what Quake 2 looked like now and you'll laugh yeah I I I saw AVP at Dave's house with that and I was like

holy [ __ ] it will never get better than this yeah it looks real no it doesn't yeah yeah AP had some water in it and I was like water in a video game what was that game by monolith that had the realistic looking blood it was like it God what was the [ __ ] game called it was kind of like a robot techy looking game like people had white armor and stuff ah you know what listen this podcast nerd.com I'm sure it was made but monol yeah somebody's yelling somebody's yelling at their iPod right now yeah mon IP [ __ ] why can't I remember the [ __ ] developer and not the game monolith Productions his blood shogo mobile arm yeah yeah yeah yeah and yeah it was

a monolith cuz I'm [ __ ] autistic um yeah that game Google what that looked like cuz that that was mind-blowing at the time I remember because of the the blood in it we do really remember games a lot differently than what they actually absolutely I saw this great meme today that was um with the character from Doom from the original doom and the character from the current doom and it said the evolution of video games and I was thinking yeah that's all well and good but that's how I saw him back then you know what I mean I didn't see any [ __ ] pixels when I looked at that man the new Doom is so good I remember Sho had uh like droplets of blood right like like fluid early fluid

Sims yeah exactly it just it looked [ __ ] like to my brain at the time when did this come out 1998 so to my teenage brain I was like oh my God we can make like blood in games look real now oh I remember Soldier of Fortune where you can shoot people's dicks off man I just remember rise of the Triad whereas if you shot someone once they got to their knees and begged you not to kill them yeah man kids take [ __ ] for granted these days back when speaking of Doom yes I did actually finish it this week oh I hear it very long and do surpris the levels are [ __ ] enormous they were big one thing I enjoyed it I had no idea what was happening yeah I'm not the I mean I didn't F the plot

of the first one well not the first one Doom 2016 didn't matter that much either yeah but yeah this one is going a over my head a lot more than the 2016 one but I'm still having fun though yeah cuz it's it's [ __ ] irrelevant the where did the spaceship he in come from I know I finished 2016 but I don't remember him having that spaceship Fortress at the end did that even happen or is it they just like a [ __ ] it no one's going to remember I think they gone a [ __ ] it I think this one's gone a little yeah it's a little bit different I don't think it's a sequel cuz Okay yeah you got this space you got Fortress of Doom now and you fly around in a ship and yeah where did that come from yeah I'm pretty sure that was not in the first one all right I could be wrong

but well the first one wasn't something like it's I know I know you're going to get annoyed with me but I always found the Halo games like I just couldn't get I couldn't get into the plot so I just was never like really aware of what the plot was there was a plot in Halo yes you're fighting the Covenant I was fighting Leo the one and only time I played Halo that's who I was fighting the the Covenant were a group of different aliens brought together by religion no it was leeo from the Axis of Awesome actually didn't know that they were religious aliens yeah they basically there's this group of aliens that use religion to basically get other alien races to do what they want them to do I didn't know that when you shoot they go I forgive you I've played all

the way through at least four Halo games and I did not know that no but Matt you did start this by prefacing that you didn't understand the story I know but I just like he said that and I was like that sounds really interesting so what's the problem I think yeah I think you may have skipped over a little bit cuz it's it's I think it comes out mostly no it's plays a big part in um Halo 2 yeah finish that definitely big part in that when especially cuz when you see when you're playing the Arbiter yeah Arbiter yeah yep that's his name yep never really thought about it when he get stripped of his Rank and they're all upset with him and yeah you get to see uh See Him naked gross scrip of your rank doesn't mean nude no yeah yeah and they if you look the

different Elite armors are your rank so there's blue armor red armor so when they're tripping of your r they're taking their armor off you which is all of your armor that's why when you get fired you have to strip down naked yeah and leave the building I usually get fired after I strip down naked that's usually a bit of cause and effect preemptive mudity well I'm uh I'm thoroughly enjoying Doom it's [ __ ] hard yes I found that I was like I'm going to play through it on um what's the like not not nightmare what's the one below that hurt me plenty no hurt me plenty is the second one I don't uh are they still using those exact phrases are they that's great I was on the second from the top one and I was like getting annoyed and I was like I I'm

going to have to turn it down you skip down to can I play Daddy no I'm not I'm not on the lowest one but I just yeah I was like it's pointless if I'm just going to get the shits with it so yeah no I was playing going hurt me plenty and towards the end there were times where I had to play through certain sections like three four times just like kept dying I did I I'm not I don't really want to do that so I'll be honest guys I did go to the Microsoft store the other day to uh to have a look at this um is it worth $90 ooh uh um that's what I paid I actually I bought it cuz it it's going to have campaign expansions and I loved the other the previous one so much that I bought the you know the pack that

has everything so I think I might have paid I think it was still less than 90 but that's probably not going to get my money worth out of it I don't know man it's try um see if you can get the 2016 one not a bad idea yeah let me get prob get that cheaper and then if if if it speaks to you as it spoke to me then you know yeah yeah okay okay it's a good idea something else that I wouldn't mind having a look at uh games that you two love that I never really got into uh is Borderlands uh cuz I just saw a trailer for something called uh [ __ ] guns love and tent yeah MH uh so now that I know there's love crafty and [ __ ] I'm in I'm interested that's what they announced at packs that we were like freaking out over cuz I finished that this week as

well the DLC yep you son of a [ __ ] I haven't even played it yet it's it's not as it's not as long the main story if you just want to sort of go through that quickly there's a lot of other side quests I haven't done yet well cuz Jenner and I play Borderlands Co-op so we have to both play to play it basically so it does restrict the time that we have to play so but I will get to it hopefully but I think the good thing about this one is unlike other Borderlands you don't have to worry about your level as much yeah true scales everything yeah but it is is it as pretty as it looks in the trailer yeah it is is it fun it is I enjoyed it is it love have you play any Borderlands Dan did you play the first one I play played the first one uh I didn't play

all the way through either I just kind of I got I got a little bit bored to be honest and I think it was because I played Borderlands right after ID played one of the fallouts and to me it just seemed like your poor man's Fallout so I never went back I'm sure it's not I'm sure I just need to give it a real red hot go no it changes quite a bit in um the later ones because you you go into space and [ __ ] so okay all right that was the one made in Australia the pre equal yeah yeah and then now in the third one you basically have a spaceship so it changes up yeah it's fun it's like a what they call it a Luda shooter it's it's kind of like first person Diablo but a shooter and in space but with Fallout kind of stuff it's hard to

explain I mean look all those words you said sound great so i' probably just need to give it a go one day oh it's just one of those ones where you play through the game and then you play through it again trying to get different guns and prettier armor and all that stuff I st that part okay M well I mean I've played Diablo 2 like three entire times through yeah back in that's cuz it was [ __ ] 2002 I um I play I have been playing something I've been playing Divinity original sin has anyone played this no I have it but I haven't played it yet I have had it for [ __ ] ages and I always wanted to play it but never really got around to it and then then the other day first one or the second one uh I'm playing the first one Divinity original sin cuz I do want to

play the second one because I read the reason I thought of it cuz I read an article that said um they're the guys that are making Boulders Gate 3 you know it's such a great game uh the second one improves a lot but you should play the first one first cuz once you play the second one the improvements that they made will make you disappointed if you try and play the first one afterwards sense sure so I was like okay so I started playing it and it is [ __ ] awesome it's okay because the thing I love about it and I've realized cuz I used to love isometric role playing games when I was young I [ __ ] loved them and then for some reason I just lost interest and I realized maybe it's because you know Fallout has turn-based combat yep I think it's that cuz

Divinity has the combat is like Fallout where you can where it's turn-based like it's like Dungeons and Dragons is yeah whereas you know like Boulders gate and all that it's all real time whereas yeah I think I just like turnbas so so I'm [ __ ] loving this game I played it for hours what are you playing it on uh on my PC PC yep yep it's [ __ ] wonderful it's like a fantasy roleplaying game where you play Source hunters and you're sent out looking for sorcery and uh get involved with the IND this Village there's been a murder you have to solve the murder and then the ORS are attacking and then I'm not going to lie man that sounds [ __ ] great it is and if you like I I guess if you like Fallout uh gameplay-wise I think you'll like this it's just with a more of a D

and D style setting so you actually [ __ ] 10 years old at this point well I went back and uh I was playing some of the old um DND D or the ad and d games that I had back in the Amiga days recently oh yes just for pools of Aur thez bonds yeah yeah po of radi P of Radiance that's um Hills far was my favorite that I played that one get to the Savage Frontier so good and then they they're still great they're still I mean they they look like shite but they uh man I just what a what a time I'm scared to play them actually cuz I I had gateway to the Savage Frontier on my commo 64 oh yeah and I remember it being very immersive yeah so I'm kind of

terrified to see what it looks like yeah well I remember Hills far being 3D um yes which basically means that there was a two-dimensional map that you saw from above but there was a little square in the top Corner that was essentially scrolling through still pictures with perspective oh my god I've just seen a picture of it it's still hell of fun it's just garbage yeah it really is really is yeah all right I have a book uh a instruction book for a game that basically what it was is it would pop up with text about with a code about what room you're in you then had to open the book and read where you were and that's how you played The Game Jesus I've just put a link in the show

notes right down the bottom it's this is actually to the Doss like PC version of which I assume probably looked better than mine did cuz I com 64 would not have looked like this yeah yeah but this I mean this game was I I was like in I was transported to another world oh you can click com 64 to see the com 64 version under the screenshot oh my God it's so much worse where below or above see under captures and snapshots if you click Commodore 64 you can see what that's what I expence 64 there you go who okay yeah now you're talking these were amazing games now you're talking I [ __ ] spent days and days and weeks playing this game man you probably spent months playing this yeah there was an old one I'll see if this I love this side by the

way too um called Arthur the Quest for Excalibur did any of you ever play this back in the day I know I've I've heard of it let me uh let me go grab this one for you too pacing it down there in the same but this this game just rocked my universe there you go it's in there oh wow I don't think I have played this this is like a text game it's a text Adventure but it's an illustrated text adventure and sometimes if you usually it was just one picture per location but then occasionally if there were certain commands that would change the picture you know which would you know really rock your world when that happened right see now I want to go play a bunch of old games yeah man I think I do but then I actually start to play them and realize I don't well I was

I got to say this too having a having a Windows machine now when I load up good old games the you Gog Galaxy and you can see how much you can actually play now when I had when I was on my Mac lot of scope yeah it would like filter at all the PC ones that I own now I've got cuz I have bought over the years even though I knew I couldn't play them cuz I was just like oh I've got to just in case [ __ ] all the quests for glories all the police quests all space quests king's quest dude you know the police quests run in the scum VM yeah they do now right I I I didn't know that I haven't tried it but yeah I've played I've played the first three through in the scum VM oh man police Quest two avenging Angel was it avenging angel or the second one the Vengeance it was in

pursuit of the death angel was number one and it was called the Vengeance of number two oh okay the the one that's the one where you go to the airport and like dust for Prince in his car and [ __ ] the second one y yeah [ __ ] I love that game yeah it's great SEC the second game was like oh you thought the first game was fun and it wasn't difficult enough well [ __ ] you that's the one where you got a scuba you got to scuba dive in the lake for the the dead body the body yeah yeah yeah yeah what a game what a game what a time to be alive the ' 80s was man you remember uh in in police quest one there was just a couple of things that you could do early on in the game that you didn't know meant you could never beat the game yes like if if you pulled a woman over for not stopping at

a traffic light and you let her off with a warning instead of rting near a ticket you could continue playing the game but you could never win because later on you got fired when your boss found out you did that yep and there's nothing you can do about it at that point you're a you're a long way further than you were when you did that that was one of the things when they when they founded the Lucas Arts game Studio they did Monkey Island all that kind of stuff one of um Ron Gilbert's rules was none of that [ __ ] yeah yeah CU he had his puzzle dependency charts I don't know if you ever seen his website where he talks about those kind of came up with this it's like a flowchart that that it's a way of mapping out the game so that you can never ever get stuck in a situation

where you can't solve it can't go back yeah right yeah so you kind of have all these choke points that all the the puzzle have to lead to to progress into you know from Act One into act two and all that kind of stuff and so you can you yeah create this flowchart so you can see cuz with Maniac Mansion they [ __ ] that up and sometimes you could get stuck yeah man you could just not get back into that house sometimes yeah and so they they came up with a system where and he apparently still uses it to this day yeah right for games yeah oh Maniac mansion's great it is but You' got basically if you don't yeah you need a play guide to make sure you [ __ ] something up which back in the day it was very hard to get play guides it wasn't just I'll just Google it and

there it is oh yeah yep my favorite Lucas Arts game I'm sure I've said this on here A bunch of times is Zack McCracken I love that so much so goodh is that dead set your favorite absolute favorite it's my favorite Lucas Arts game absolutely I think my favorite Lucas Arts would have to be Dave of the tentacle yeah right okay mine would have to be X-Wing versus TIE fighter no X-Wing Alliance yeah I mean I think we were thinking adventure games but you're right that is the same yeah and also I still would pick Zack McCracken just because I think it's one because it was on commodo 64 as well so I think it's actually literally one of the first adventure games I ever played yeah right yeah so Zack McCracken and the alien mind benders yeah so good I

did try to not all Lucas Arts adventure games were created equal though and there's been a few that I've played recently that I was like okay there's a reason that uh beneath the steel sky isn't as well known as the others that game's all right it's all right yeah fly of the Amazon queen yes I bought uh there good old game sale was on and I bought finally rise of the Dragon is uh it's a it's an adventure game made by Sierra that is like cyber Punk kind of like Blade Runner style and it's about like I don't know this one oh mate like I I haven't played it again yet I just got it the other day for a couple bucks during the sale okay well if they don't have it on go I'm going to abandon that and it's Dynamics is the

the actual company I think Sierra just published it but there's that and there's another game that I think the same company made called uh heart of China and they're both really oh I've got heart of China yeah yeah yeah yeah I've got that on yeah yeah yeah okay rise of the Dragon PC only [ __ ] you Matt and okay looks like I'll be getting it from abandoned wear you can still oh no you can't stall it never mind no we got some other followup while we're uh I mean we've taken a video game Diversion which is fine and good but we do have some followup uh we do uh you want to talk about Johnny Depp or you want to talk about Al Jones I mean uh generally my choice would be Johnny Depp I guess sure what's he doing these days bashing any

more women Well turns out he wasn't doing that in the first place well potenti maybe maybe [ __ ] you who knows but a judge has has determined that he will be allowed to sue Amber herd for saying that he did yeah so because that's defamation yeah yeah so I guess we're going to find out whether he did unfortunately cuz mind you we might also find out what he did to make her make up that he did well know what I mean yeah I know this is complicated and it's not even any of our [ __ ] business but from what I've seen sounds like Amber Her might be a bit crazy allegedly allegedly don't sue me or beat me but I don't know seems like she no but it seems like

she used to beat the [ __ ] out of him yeah yeah so [ __ ] do I know this is all just gross and just go away and sort it out please it's horrible when stuff like this happen it's not going to make him any better an actor that's that's the sad thing about this no but it does I think the thing is with all with everything that's been going on you know with me too and everything this is kind of a weird one because I think it was like she was like oh yeah he's he hits me and stuff and everyone was like oh [ __ ] him and then he was like no she hits me and everyone's like sure she does yeah and then it's like maybe that is what happened so it's just kind of like yeah kind of flips it around it just I don't know yeah yep because everyone was

like [ __ ] Johnny Depp for a long time remember he went to that there was some awards show and he was at and she was there and there was supposed to be like a restraining or everyone was like [ __ ] you Johnny Depp would have cost him jobs and everything because exactly no one wants to be associated with stuff like like oh maybe maybe she was lying about that so forgive my ignorance of Pop Culture but is she famous for something other than being married to Johnny de yeah she's an actress she's yeah she's an Aquaman she was in uh uh what else is she in uh I think Aquaman's the big one okay I did see Aquaman I don't remember her but sure uh what else is she in she's in Zombie Land okay I don't

know who she was in that yeah you know what I don't know that I've seen much that she's in except zie I think she was like the the girl in the apartment at the beginning of the movie oh okay right okay like the hot girl from apartment whatever yeah okay so she was in one episode of the OC one episode of Criminal Minds and I've seen Justice League but I one episode of Cali fornication I don't think I've seen anything she's in I think she's been in a lot but nothing yeah I don't think she's in many movies that I watch but you know whatever she's in stepen King's The Stand well I assume this is Stephen King's The Stand and not just somebody else's thing called The Stand is it was it the Remake yes uh I haven't seen that

I watched a Steven King series this week that uh I think is worth mentioning uh and that is called The Outsider everyone keeps telling watch this yeah it's it's uh based on Stephen King it's directed by [ __ ] I can never remember this guy's name the guy from Arrested Development Jason baitman Jason baitman directed by him and it stars uh Ben melson right uh benon yeah worth watching really strong start then lost me for a little bit once I started realizing that it didn't have to make sense and it could just be [ __ ] that Stephen King makes up you know what I mean yeah there's that part in every you're like oh is this going to all oh it doesn't have to it's okay it's ghosts

okay fine and then it takes you a couple episodes to get back on board and then you're okay okay no no no it's a good ghost story it's good it's good it's good um so yeah I recommend it Luke maybe Matt probably yeah all right well I've I do need another I'm still going I'm going through Silicon Valley [ __ ] good call guys I don't know how I missed this show it's great it's [ __ ] hilar man you must be further than luk or I ever got now I'm in season four yeah cuz you're quot you're quoting jokes that we don't know a jinyang jinyang is too funny man uh he calls him Eric Eric Bachman it's just so funny no Eric Bachmann this is your mom I don't R you

Frank calls him all the time you didn't get that far it's so funny no I don't think so I well may may not be I didn't get that thought that I haven't seen it in years yeah that too that too I I think I've only seen the first three series to be honest it's just got some really solid jokes in it like and then some of them and like some absurd stuff too like have you seen there's a bit where they ask him the other VC guys ask ol to join the basketball team have you seen that Luke uh no anyway it's just this throwaway gag but [ __ ] I would pissed myself laughing this dude calls or up I think cuz they trying to [ __ ] with him and he's like oh we've got spare slot on the the floor at the basketball game do you want to come along and he's like yeah cuz he thinks

it's going to be like good for his ego and he gets there and they're actually playing basketball right and then he turns to security guard and he goes is that what he meant when they he said they had a spot on the floor and then security guard goes I don't know mate I wasn't part of the [Laughter] conversation that's great so expected I [ __ ] I was like in tears love it love it oh and I watched the Tiger King yeah look I'm watching this too I love it can we talk about it next week yes Hannah watched it she says it is amazing and I should watch it as well

became super famous yeah he was in Aliens Terminator the abyss those are all James Cameron films James Cameron lik him yeah he was in Navy Seals yep he was he was in uh I don't know what else he was in other stuff but yeah I always thought he was going to be a big star well I mean he was to us that's for damn sure yeah but what's he what's he going to be in now Matt that's the important thing the Mandalorian season two so [ __ ] tops mate him and um Rosario Dawson is going to be a sokano which people were annoyed about cuz apparently they all thought that the voice actress should do it I don't know yeah it's not really how it works yeah exactly it's a different job sometime people voice actors for a

reason o all right she might not even be the right color to play that character for all we know that's like if they got the guy who voices Cleveland to play Cleveland in the movie She's an alien I don't think it matters does it you can you got to play the color you are Matt that's how this works let do alien face Luc is alien face okay alien face is fine yeah yeah but this is from a man who thinks black face is fine in context it's fine in context it's better out of context yeah so yeah I'm excited to see Michael Bean uh I am too you know what else I hear is that Robert Rodriguez has directed an episode in season two and I'm I'm down for that yeah I like I like so has this been put on hold at all for they filming they just trying to make

announcements to make sure everyone's still interested or thought they had finished shooting but I could be wrong yeah I think everything's on hold right now I hope they finish shooting you know what's not on hold is Christopher Nolan's new movie they are not budging the dates on that but I assume that's because the dates are November and they're really hoping that this [ __ ] has all ended by then yes they um well it's all finished shooting right so it's all remote work yeah but it's all just about the fact that no one's gone to the movies they are going the drivein though yeah yeah drive-ins are shut in the show but a friend brought that up like a drive-in would be a good place to still practice social isolation also

getting out yeah yeah totally so um do we want to just rattle off a few uh a few updates in the Corona virus situation from the past week yeah I guess we don't need to dwell on it I'm sure people have heard about it enough but uh I mean maybe we can bring I don't know if there anything we might as well touch on on how it affects you know the things we love Olympics off not that we love the Olympics but they're off and I haven't watched the Olympics in about 12 years no remember when we were young it used to be a terrible time when the Olympics were on cuz that was all that was on television yeah remember that time the Olympics were in the [ __ ] City we lived in yeah yep that was a nightmare got no actually I love that cuz I got to

go see a lot of bands play for free we got a nice like Olympic Park and and some a nice area out of it Disneylands are closed indefinitely Luke can you want to fill us into what indefinitely means I know you learned this word recently I still to me it sounds like they're closed forever not but it actually means they're closed with no date for when they'll reopen yeah which might be forever but probably not not closed forever but to me it sounds like closed forever especially cuz it's like yeah it's just so like use a different word yeah yeah yeah like because they closed three weeks ago and now they closed indefinitely so what does that mean what's the difference yeah exactly but I'm still so I've given up on my dream of going there

in August you dream but I'm still going you been there before I'm still going there for my 40th birthday dream of going there in August yeah you know who's not giving up on his dreams is uh is the king of Thailand whose name I'm not going to try to pronounce but uh his majesty the king of Thailand has self-isolated in an Alpine hotel with a Herm of 20 women well good on him I guess yeah Jesus so he is uh living it up yeah he's not he's not negatively affected uh he's just don't he can't be with more than five of them at a time mhm if he goes to Australia he can only be with two at once I I do like this like he's is unclear if his four wives are living in the hotel with the rest of the group yeah

yeah oh no it's good to be the king you know what's funny his father who passed away year before last was like such a loved King and he is is such the opposite of of of this current King you know like this King this guy is like my dad's one of the greatest kings ever I'm not going to do that I'm just going to be that [ __ ] guy who just takes 20 women to a [ __ ] Alpine Resort well that's how it works right you got to have a shitty King and then he'll have a this guy will have a kid who'll be like [ __ ] my dad yeah he'll be like I'm going to be a great king and he'll be good and then the cycle continues yeah and then another Herm guy yeah exactly um what might cause him some trouble is that um we're about to go into a worldwide shave of condoms so that's a thing we are

really we are and the reason is because the two uh countries in the world with the largest uh rubber uh manufacturing cap capacities which is China and Malaysia are now on lockdown and condoms are no longer being manufactured currently so once we're done we're done there you go just so that's the next thing we everyone need to start stocking up on after toilet paper yeah I don't everyone needs to become Catholic don't use toilet paper that's how that works I got uh did you see my snap the other day about so I do um Amazon subscribe and save for like a whole bunch of stuff but just in particular this one delivery the other day I get every 6 months just cuz it's cheaper and means I don't have to bother going to get it I get a a pretty big order of

toilet paper and paper towel like I do I've been doing this for years since we bought the house this is not a new thing and then I was I actually assumed we wouldn't get it this time and then the other day it showed up and so like on my doorstep was just like a giant like a box of backets of your neighbors walking past being like ah [ __ ] typical well I don't have any neighbors but uh yeah the delivery guy was probably well I do love how Hannah on your podcast Luke was talking about how now when you go to the supermarket to only buy toilet paper you have to like pretend you're looking at other stuff first yeah cuz you don't want to be that person yeah but yeah I was surprised actually because I don't think you can but this toilet paper thing there was no shortage

of toilet paper it's just that normally Stores Only stock a certain amount and everyone just went [ __ ] nuts so it's going to if it has already to be honest but yeah and there's no food either it's just the same thing yeah that's thing like in Australia there's 25 million people but we produce enough food for 75 million people like we were never going to run out of food or toilet paper but people just paniced yeah you know who has run out of food [ __ ] pigs in Nevada yeah yeah this was really interesting it's crazy the flowing effect you don't the stuff you don't even think about so apparent in in Nevada the farmers who who have like pig farms they feed the pigs with all the leftover scraps and [ __ ] from the all of restaurants on the Vegas Strip and now

that whole the Vegas is basically shut down it's like a ghost town right now cuz you know what the [ __ ] are you going to do in Vegas if you can't gamble or go out or go out or you know bang prostitutes so I think that's their slogan that's the that's their State slogan so what's the use ofas if you can't go out and bang prostitutes so that [ __ ] remember that they flick those [ __ ] cards that God that was so irritating walking down the street flicking the card and the next day the G just lined with them God [ __ ] off but um yeah they used to feed all the the pig farms used to feed them with scraps and so now they have to go and buy food I guess that they wouldn't normally have had to buy and it's [ __ ] up their industry it's just yeah

would never have thought about it just a lot of different Industries are affected by this thing that you that you wouldn't expect like oh why would a pig farm be affected Well here here's another one bull fighters in Spain are demanding a government bailout they want a stimulus package cuz you're not allowed to gather around and like torture animals [Laughter] anymore yeah um yeah suck it I don't think the government's really going to help though I mean Spain loves their [ __ ] bull fighting man yeah I know they do I think they do but also I think they don't as well so I think like the government won't publicly come out and shame it but they won't I don't think they'll bail them out I mean they probably get the

same bailout anybody else would right it's still a job yeah no like if you work as a bull fighter wouldn't you get unemployment maybe the I don't think they want unemployment they're asking for 700 th000 oh Euros in ask for a bit more than just yeah I've lost my job can you help me it's we want you to keep this business afloat why we the industry AF yeah yeah no um I got terrified the other day when I um realized that uh they've literally run out of places to put bodies in Italy and um they're turning ice rinks into Giant open air morgs and uh that's some [ __ ] Mad Max [ __ ] right there and I'm officially terrified now is that true Jesus wow okay yeah this is really should really

start me to hit hit home for a lot of people about how serious this actually is yeah I know people just aren't taking it seriously I don't think like I mean around here we're now in um we have a stay- at home order issued which it's kind of like you know it's a bit wishy-washy in that sense like you can still go out it's just they're like you know to gather in large groups and and basically you don't need to be somewhere you're not supposed to go you're supposed to stay it's like when you're a teenager and you've been grounded it doesn't mean you can't leave the house you just can't have any fun and your friends aren't allowed over yeah that's right unless unless you don't want to be going to do what you're doing then you know let to do

it but yeah people are just still out there and just getting together and just thinking it won't affect them and it may not but you might pick it up and give it to someone else yeah so uh the comic book industry is basically shut down at this point because one of there's one publisher Diamond who who uh publishes and I think they definitely distribute basically extremely prolific all the comic books in the world uh and they're shipping all they're ceasing all shipping operations on April 1st so there will be no more comic books until they open again which is just one of these scary things cuz this could mean that that's it yeah cuz the comic industry wasn't doing great anyway no and then if they don't have that and then people who were still

buying those copies do finally go fine I'll get the digital version yep that's it be the thing this and um uh that and digital stuff I think in general I think this is going to change the industry in in weird ways like that like maybe digital Comics would just be what everybody does now I think there's going to be a big change in schooling and work yep working from home is going to be a thing now yep because a lot of time what have gone you can't work from home you can't work from home and then now gone and work from home they've gone oh it works and even with schooling I think there may be a big shift now I think the world is going to change a lot it's not going to go back to the way it was no it' be surprised if if it goes just fully back and I think I reckon a lot of

um probably a lot of companies will fight it because there's that whole thing of like they want to be able to watch what you're doing I listened to a podcast about working from home and it was an interesting thing and that was it with Sam Harris it was mhm that thing about uh how it's actually easier to slack off when you're in the office because if you're in the office there's just an assumption that you're doing work whereas if you just got I I've I've got a piece of paper and I'm walking over here must be off to a meeting or something exactly whereas if you're at home then you've got to produce something otherwise people are going to start asking questions so I think a lot of companies are going to find that oh I can save

money by not having to have this pay for this office anymore yeah mhm yep yeah it's going to be very interesting the world we go back to absolutely if we make it past this world without condoms yeah and pig farms and bull fighters uh you know who doesn't need a condom though the uh the naked man who logged into a school online lesson in Norway now was it an accident or did he do it on purpose oh he did it on purpose I says he guessed he guessed the meeting link I don't know how the [ __ ] you guess the link but gu so I accidentally guessed where the children were yeah g like what is wrong with people just popped on the nude yeah and then addressed the students encouraged them to talk to him as he

Hood oh no you sound just like Johnny Depp Luke um one of the one of the things I actually purchased while I was in Paris with you guys late last year was I I bought a copy of the very first asterisk comic uh in its original French that I can't read or understand just for the sake of having it yeah um and was very sad to learn this week that uh Alber udoo has passed away um because I was a serious asterisk fan when I was a teenager [ __ ] obsessed remember going to the library yeah and just reading cuz there were those big comic books as well those yeah that format yeah yeah loved him so

clever um what I also didn't realize because we obviously read these in English um but everyone's name is a pun uh but puns aren't the same in English and French and it was it was decades after I read these and had kind of stopped reading them that that I made a French friend who also turned out like asteris and then we just kept telling the other person what the names of the characters were in our language and what it meant cuz they're not just translations cuz they've got to be a pun and it's got to sound like an old galic name you know so are we going to allow this gentleman to be geek of the week or L definitely going to okay good we all right thank you conac Legion for sending that in yeah thank you for
