name or a Roman Emperor type name yeah actually it could be I I think it's South African name cuz it's one of the few South African names I know so that could be why that and musk but yeah he's gone a bit funny I think I don't know if it's her influence or if he's just gone funny he's always been a bit funny it's he's always been a bit funny and then also I think what happens if if you've got money and people just say yes to you you go a bit crazy but he's had money for for [ __ ] a long time yeah but he's he's getting more in the public eye yeah I suppose and I think with that he's sort of going off the deep end more and more all the time best of luck to him don't don't name your kid something

as it is uh well and that's why he doesn't want to get further behind possibly yeah cuz like when do you get your truck uh I don't know uh a couple years at least so probably a couple more years now due to all this so that's fine gives me chance to save up but I think I do agree with him some degree like about getting back open but then it's not classified it's building cars is not essential at the moment cuz no and also but then I was going to say people aren't necessarily going to be buying cars right now but well that's the thing with the Teslas a lot of those cars are already purchased yeah yeah yeah you're right so it's not like yeah it's not like with other cars where they're being

made to go and wait they're being made cuz someone's waiting to drive them yeah yeah someone my work bought ordered a model y you know the most recent one that got released and they got a delivery notification for it and I was going to ask him cuz I haven't seen him in months obviously uh did you get your car cuz I I wanted to see it I really want one I'm going to guess that probably he didn't get the car cuz he would have mentioned it but uh we'll see although maybe he did but he's just not not that happy because he can't drive it anyway well how's he picking it up man they deliver it to your house oh of course they do I don't think the service is as good as it used to be when the Teslas first came out but they still pretty good cuz I've

heard you know if you get a flat tire and you have a Tesla they'll just bring you a new [ __ ] wheel and then put it on and then you keep and then you go on your way and then you have to just at some point go into a Tesla Service Center and get it all squared away back you know with your with your original Rim but like it seems like it's pretty fancy having a Tesla currently but once everybody's got them yeah it's probably that's all going to go down the toilet I think yeah the big thing was I think they were sort of the Serv was super great at the beginning to try and get people to buy into it more like you heard stories of like I had an issue so they just gave me a brand new Tesla yeah they just driving new one to your location yeah but yeah that's but that's

part of it to get the uptake for I think they had to go a little bit overboard I want one give me one I don't have one to give you yet I'm an influencer give me a Tesla fill out the form yeah elon's doing some other stuff at the moment though in addition to moving to Texas he's also planning to help Tom Cruz make a movie in space yep because of course that's a thing I can see Tom Cruz wanting to do that yeah I mean he lives a science fiction lifestyle with his religion and now he's he's uh putting his money where his mouth is or his mouth where his money is I guess so they're going to shoot in space isn't that you put your money into Scientology isn't that how that works that's the you go the more you put into it y I think that's how it works

that's why I'm still so weird that they're still trying to get me I'm giving you nothing I have no money maybe they see some potential in you Luke yeah maybe the new leader or something maybe but I think they invest in you that's their thing right you join up and then they kind of they make all your dreams come true true and then they cash in that might be true maybe they're like he's an actor let's get him on board yeah look you still done your acting classes by teleconferencing no I've dropped out officially well not officially I haven't told them yet all right got to let them know at some stage no it just got too hard because it was like I got caught up with work so I thought I was at a stage where I'd be able to get guarantee I'll have a night off and be

together so what is this space movie we don't know anything about it other than they want he wants to shoot I don't think there is a movie yet I think Tom just said I want to make a movie in space Elon said yeah I can make that happen yeah and uh and now Hollywood's GNA going to do it cuz they're like this is [ __ ] amazing marketing let's do it yeah I actually don't think it would be that good though doesn't matter everybody will watch this movie if he does it mhm yeah but to me like there's not a lot of room up there you're not going to be able to bring up very big crew or anything so yeah but have you seen the shitty pulls in uh the Mission Impossible movies like I don't know I think I think he certainly hangs off the side of a plane and stuff yeah if he can

do it he will do it so I don't think I don't think he's too he he'll probably just fly up there himself with a GoPro and shoot the whole thing I would let's be honest i' go to the ISS i' I'd love to get up there well I mean he's going to need someone to hold the camera mat Luke can't hold it cuz he'll be in the scene as well yeah obviously yeah yeah y yeah might needs yeah so I'll let you know once I get the script I'll let you all know yeah they'll need music too Matt so while you're up there you can just be like d d that's how I score all films yeah so we're going we're going to do the music live as well yeah yeah yeah is that is that how not how you normally do it in space l there's no editing in space I have my own method it's uh it's called

mouth posing yeah you've heard of method acting POS with my mouth we've already established that you do it even though you don't think you do um but Matt a method composer yeah I often just follow people around and score their lives fat people hate [Music] [Laughter] me and as they yelling at me I'm like now they're sing like like the uh the parents in the uh peanuts yeah boom boom boom anyway don't mean fat shame no I mean it sounds like you do mean to but that's

yeah I know I realize it does sound quite a lot like that so make it clear that I'm not speaking of scoring things there was a Kotaku article this week about where and a Reddit post and a bunch of other stuff about uh the Doom Eternal soundtrack and there's a bunch of drama and what is it cuz I sort of saw something and I know that the composer actually sort of half said something a couple of months ago really shitty to be honest so Mick Gordon the guy he's an Australian guy who did the music for Doom he's done a bunch of games I think he one of the he did uh uh what's the alien game where you got to kill Destroy All Humans I think that was one of the first games he did and he so he's been around a while doing games he did prey and some other stuff uh he's a

good composer and is he a method composer I think he might be I think so but he did uh the soundtrack for the 2016 Doom which was a [ __ ] huge success the the music particular pretty amazing it's a [ __ ] amazing soundtrack it's like this weird metal super industrial it's like it's very unique sounding thing cuz he he built this [ __ ] rig of pedals and guitar parts and things that he ran p like w wave files through and made all these weird noises and [ __ ] it's [ __ ] awesome and so he made kind of a a big name for himself with that and then he came back to do Doom maternal and then when the game came out a bunch of people who pre-ordered the collector's edition that they said oh you get the soundtrack which is a you know kind of a thing now

cuz everyone's super into the music and then when the game came out they said oh there's a delay on the soundtrack and it got pushed back a couple of weeks and then I think again a couple of weeks and then like a couple of months and then eventually people got the soundtrack and they were like this sounds a bit [ __ ] cuz the the it was all like overly compressed and and the transitions between you know you know game music Transitions and then none of the none of the shifts were kind of done very well and it just seemed like a subpar product and Mick Gordon commented just a couple of times on like YouTube videos of clips and on Twitter and just said yeah well I wouldn't have done it that way and everyone was like what's that

about and and then didn't you do this right and then he said he he said at one point he said no there's uh there's a handful of tracks on there that I did and you'll be able to recognize them uh and then people looked at the way and they're like well it's probably these ones that aren't shitty and then people I know even then even on one of the TV spots cuz for some reason they didn't really use that music they were using some R&B rap thing for it as well it was very strange yeah yeah so people started hassling ID software about it in particular the guy who was in charge of the the audio and then started harassing him saying what the [ __ ] are you doing mate like m a [ __ ] artist why are you [ __ ] around with his music and

harassing him and then so they've now come out and said and made this big long Reddit post saying that uh basically Mick kept saying oh it's not ready yet it's not ready yet the soundtrack's not ready and then they said we because of Consumer Protection Law they were like we have to release it because these people paid for it so we have to release it so they made a deal with him where he would just send them what he had done and then they would figure out the rest from the music that they had from the game which is why it's all kind of weirdly compressed but then but then it all kind of devolved and then he he was pissed off about it and then I don't know it's just sounds like a mess and so now it's but but he's being really quiet now and so what it sounds like is the

last word in it has been ID saying Mick just kept saying he'd sent it to us and he never did and so now everyone's like [ __ ] [ __ ] what's going on Micky padon so was he was he just being sort of that artist going for Perfection and just holding everything up or that's what that seems to be what ID's implying and I'm like oh God like what a bunch of [ __ ] drama but yeah they're not doing it as they're not calling him out or anything they're just saying look we did what we had that's why it's shitty it's kind of like they just left it hanging like like oh well just uh Mick couldn't get couldn't get it done there you go and then so now I don't know I don't know what's going on but we did get the

soundtrack we wanted that's for sure it's a shame so and and then Mi come out and said Mick said he's never going to work with them again so I don't know what that means like I think that's pretty clear and they yeah you're damn right Mick well that's exactly cuz they said oh yeah we won't be working with him on the DLC and then he was like that's right you won't be working with me on the DLC and it's just like [ __ ] guys either just don't say anything or tell us what happened cuz now it's just [ __ ] stupid stop all the Whispers just come out with it yeah so I don't know why I that's why I don't like follow people on Facebook ID software raped and murdered my [Laughter] wife all right Dan all right Dan this is not about you this is about

Mick it's a shame I like Mick so I hope it's not some I'm sure it's not it's probably way more complicated than all that and I know that like it I'm sure he he put a lot of pressure on himself with this whole thing because of the first one like as an artist there's a lot of eyeballs on him now so I don't know if this was just you know maybe this got too big or something like that I I don't know that could be anything shouldn't really maybe he just sort of he got into his head like more people are going to play this and they're going to want to live up to that so right put the pressure on himself or it's a lot of work turning video game music into something that can be a soundtrack I'm like you basically same same with like when they do film soundtracks when you

buy the a CD that's like you know the soundtrack for a film it's not the music that was in the film they have to rearrange it all because the music's in the film got chopped up and it's like it's not you're not just going to sit and well you might sit and listen to it but it's not a song right whereas what he's trying to do is put out an album not just here's a slap together a bunch of music that you might have heard if you played the game one of my favorite soundtracks to this day is still the Final Fantasy 7 one oh yeah the original one yeah that was great is the remake you have played the Remake obviously it's not out on no anything else yet we'll get it the next year on Xbox just wonder if the M they must have redone all the music ium right oh they've

redone everything yeah like it even doesn't follow the same storyline well follows the same like basic plot points but there very different different side missions different interactions I don't think I'm going to play it I'm going to be honest I will I'm going to play the [ __ ] out of it well I'm 100% not going to play it so anyway so in summary I don't have the soundtrack to do maternal yet which makes me sad cuz uh [ __ ] love love the music from those games and hopefully they sort out whatever the [ __ ] happened there sounds like a bunch of dumb drama put the game on go into settings sound effects volume down yeah Music Up Music Up and Away you go just put yourself in a corner

why why I be in the corner you know what you've done [Laughter] Matt that's fair Billy Mitchell we've spoken about him a few times on here what's he up to now last I heard about him was he' just been called out for cheating uh yeah and now he's suing anyone who says he's a cheat oh I I've never said that oh I'll say it but he uh didn't he cheat isn't that why they call him a cheat cuz he did even like yeah well he doesn't consider it cheating in what way does he canot consider it cheating is he saying that he didn't play is he saying that he okay so he's saying that he got the same experience that somebody would have had if they had used the unmodified original

despite the fact that he used an emulator and and that shouldn't mean he doesn't qualify for for a broken record well part of the thing was with with the whole their titles and everything you can use an emulator to do it that's not against the rules you just have to make it clear that that's what you doing yeah it's an it's a different score ladder there's two ladders there's emulated and then there's original I think right so for listen who don't know Billy Mitchell used to have the world record for Donkey Kong high score um there's a documentary about it called the king of Kong which you should definitely watch cuz it's hilarious great especially at the time they sort of made Billy Mitchell to sort of be the bad guy in it he he was a [ __ ] he was a

[ __ ] he was a [ __ ] but then at the end it's sort of and then it's come true that he was really the bad guy yes so it turned out they discovered well allegedly discovered that he was not playing on an original arcade machine he was playing on an emulator which means that he may have modified the game to make it easier to get the scores that he got and therefore they took his titles away from him and so what he's suing them for defamation so I guess is he saying that whether or not they're saying he cheated they're implying that he cheated well see the thing about defamation isn't it also meant to be something that impacts you negatively well I guess this did right because well I don't think it does because he even after this he was doing a tour in

Australia booking things like to me it probably brought him back into the public eye and got him more work than I mean this lawsuit will do the same thing right yeah so maybe maybe that's there you go maybe that's why he's doing this suing them but CU even in King of Kong they actually bring up part of the thing like when the score changes when there's sort of that line that goes across the screen yeah and they're actually and that's what they're saying like look when we looked at that was actually it was cheating that was fudged that going across which they even called out then I I think he is a bit I don't think he'll win I don't know I think for to win a defamation case don't you just have to prove that somebody is stopping you from being able to earn a living based on

what they've said and that's the thing I don't think yeah so like if he was if he was making a living as professional gamer one way or another or you know on the corporate talk circuit or something like that public speaking circuit right he lost business because of it yeah and now because they've taken the title away he doesn't doesn't get to do those things anymore but I it kind of falls apart if you only got the title cuz you cheated no but isn't isn't there a requirement that they have to have lied right you can't just like if if somebody like if he had if he'd say I'm trying to think is something less dramatic than touched a kid but if he had like if he had hit someone with his car right and then it came out that he had hit someone with his car and then someone he went

for a job and then someone who worked there said oh isn't that Billy Mitchell the guy who hit hit why am I saying a kid again hit somebody the kids out of it I'm trying to but my brain won't let me so someone said oh that's Billy Mitchell he hit someone with his car he can't sue that person for defamation cuz he did if if otherwise with his car but if he hit him with the car and while the kid was unconscious he molested him then he could see defamation yes according to according to Wikipedia which is where I go for all my uh leg clarifications on things yeah uh defamation is the oral or written communication of a false statement about another that unjustly harms their reputation okay so if he did hit someone

with his car he can't sue for if you say that he did it if he lost control of the vehicle because his hands were busy molesting a child then that's different yeah well it depends on how you word it if if I said he ran someone down in his car that's not true he was he was just not paying attention yeah yeah I don't this is just one of those tricky ones and that's why you don't really see it just come out eyes on the road people eyes on the road you know what just get your hands off the kids everyone yeah that's right while you're driving yeah I mean the privacy of your own home you do what you want unless you're playing on an emulated Donkey Kong machine don't do that yeah yeah Luke yeah no I'm just trying I'm just trying

and I was like you know what maybe and I talked to Jenna about it and we were both like yeah maybe we could check it out so I bought it yep and then I didn't have time to play it at the time that I bought it so Jenna started playing it first and then I got some time so I grabbed the switch sat down went to uh I've been thinking about what to name my Island and and you know how I was going to get started and all this kind of stuff so I sat down turned it on and it said oh welcome to Jenna's Island and I was like well no no no I want I want myland and uh a quick Google search informed me that I can't have my Island cuz you can only have one [ __ ] Island per switch Nintendo do not get the [ __ ] stuff like they don't get online and different accounts or anything like that

yet they they think it's one they want one switch per pretty much well yeah so if I want if I want to play the game myself cuz it's not only that it's not she she manages the island so if I was to play it now I can only do certain things I can't play the game fully no even though you've got a separate account on there yeah right I have now restricted myself to not being able to play the game properly because so so if I buy another switch I could could yeah except I got to buy the [ __ ] game again because you can't both play it like it doesn't work like uh it doesn't work with like well technically XBox doesn't either but you can fudge it by switching your home Xbox around and whatever oh no no that's what they design it for that

Xbox have said that's okay if you're in the same household okay well that's we've you can do that we've been doing that on the Xbox but you can't do that on the switch if if I was playing it and Jenna loaded it up on the other switch mine would go hold on yeah go hold on you playing it somewhere else now so we're going to shut that down so I have to buy another switch and another copy of the game if I want to play it [ __ ] off yep just just so that I can play a game that I paid for yeah [ __ ] off and it's weird that they've gone backwards cuz on the the old one you could have you could have multiple Islands yourself yeah now it's just nut screw you Tom Nook wants everything from you listeners if you if you can think of a valid reason for it to be this way let me know

could get a switch light and then I could just play on that you know and then but but then it doesn't support Cloud safe because the island is tied to the switch so it's it's ah no come on [ __ ] Nintendo get get with it it's 2020 get with the times it's 2020 there's no reason for these weird [ __ ] restrictions it's just weird I don't understand why why is it like that doesn't make any sense to me stupid I'm done I'm done moving on well Dan you just purchased a game that I want to play yeah I I I've been thinking about we talked about this on the podcast months ago last year want to play it but i' not got around to buying it yeah well I bought it today and I've

been playing it for the last couple of hours this is Disco elium which cleaned up the um the game awards last year 2019 best RPG best newcomer best India and best game as well at least best narrative best best game narrative and so I was pretty Keen to have a look at this this is definitely a game that [ __ ] dares you to play it like God do it do a gut it it basically does right so it's got the look and feel of Fallout 1 and two and uh except that your character is a alcoholic detective with amnesia um you wake up actually Amnesia or is

she just blackout drunk you wake up naked in your hotel room uh without your badge or your gun with no idea how you got there and there's a dead body hanging from a tree outside that's been up there for days because you've arrived in this town 3 days ago and we're meant to investigate but you just got blind drunk and forgot about it and so you've got to solve this crime but also you've got to figure out who you are and what you've been doing for the last couple of days interesting sounds awesome now with this what's the combat like there's no combat it's combat free no so it's like a point and click adventure then or yes yes if there's combat later I'll let you know but I'm it's my understanding that there is no no real Combat in the way you're yeah yeah um but I was I was

curious because the uh when the devs got up on stage to collect their award there was a bunch of them there was the leader seemed to be this tall thin redheaded woman the leader the leader uh and then uh well they're Russian see and then and then and a short squat man in what I can only describe as a CAC outfit and they were rattling off names of people to thank and uh then they finished by thanking Marx and Engles for their uh political education right yeah and this uh the subtext of this game is is steeped in socialism interesting okay so at the moment it's only available on Steam but it is planning to come to consoles later this year yeah I saw that yeah that's what I'm holding

out for it's on um good old games I want to play it is it is it was slightly cheaper on Steam so I picked it up on Steam oh okay I hope to devote a lot of time to it because it seems like the one of those games the more you put in people mention things to you know when you get like conversation trees and like somebody will mention something and now you know that you know that fact yeah yep with this there's you've got to go away and think about before you can like put things together so you've actually once you've had a conversation with someone and they are long and detailed conversations um you've then got to go away and decide what bits of the conversation you put into your brain to like chew on for the next little while right and then the game will let you

know down the track when you've kind of thought of something based on what you heard molded over enough yeah H see I I I love the idea and if it was 20 years ago I would probably play this to death but now I'm worried about I don't have the patience for it anymore yeah well I can't even go near the body I just keep vomiting like holding your [ __ ] together is like a major challenge in the game on top of everything else might have to send him an email and just go hey guys when are you playing to release this on Xbox cuz I can't play games without achievements now and it sucks but it's just the way it is this is not I don't even know what the achievements would be mate this is not a game that you can just pop on and just knock off a couple

of achievements I feel like I need to play this yeah I think you'd like it man I think you would yeah all right it actually feels like the old retro Blade Runner game that we all just replayed yeah very reminiscent this might be uh this might happen yeah well I I want to get into more PC gaming as well because I've just spent so much you have a PC yet well no but I mean you know I have a Mac same thing speaking of PC games and and also Point click adventure games just briefly um Ron Gilbert has since he's been stuck at home not doing anything made a [ __ ] game so he just made it free released it I inst this I installed this today too but I haven't played it yet because disco is Lum with [ __ ] with my brain yeah well he's thimble weed Park mini Adventure yeah so

he's so is this so what he what he's done is he uh he out of bits of artwork and and stuff from thimble weed Park he made a new game um it's free it's not like a sequel or he said basically it's kind of just like a it's it's an extra thing it doesn't I don't think it really has anything to do with Thimble weed Park other than it uses the asset messing around yeah so just don't think this is going to add on to the game or anything it's just a little thing that he made and then the artist Navaro did some stuff as well so everybody kind of jumped on board apparently so uh yeah looks pretty cool it's a free little Adventure game that he made looks great I need to go and finish thimble weed

many years ago and they finally released the Xbox One version but then they also said we're not going to give you out Xbox One Keys okay and everyone was a bit hold on no that's why we backed it cuz you said it there was going to be PC and Xbox yes and they went yeah but it's hard to get keys so we're going to keep all those keys for like media and stuff so here's a steam key instead and everyone's going no it's not why I gave you money and so they organized Xbox One Keys the thing about this game is it also went on Xbox game pass so you already have it so I've already played it I've already finished it yeah and so I've gone let me give the key to one of our listeners all right cuz nice and I was listening and I've written it down I'll claim it uh before this does do

seem like the kind of game you would want to play it's uh one man alone in space which is your dream oh my God it's actually really cool so you you I have Game Pass so I'm not going to but but yes go on people on the moon they trying to set up a thing to give Earth unlimited power then there was a big blackout power and then you play going up to the Moon to try and work out what happened and get things fixed it is really good as just a walking simulator yeah all right I'm good at walking well that's the best way to describe it I think but no I enjoyed it sorry Luke I didn't mean to put you to you know to to go on about how good I am at walking I didn't mean to sorry yeah

cats can go in and out as they please but they can't leave oh the courtyard like so they can go outside like a zoo yeah mhm mhm cool uh so Matt when you uh when you bought a house you made sure there was a room uh in it for Luke should he ever come over Luke is a room in your house for me yes there is I have a spare room excellent sorry a spare room or a room for me oh it's a room for you because you made it very clear when I bought this house I had to have I get the basement yeah so that I needed to have a spare room but there also had to be an additional room that was yours so I have to take that into account yes and I'm allowing you to use it while I'm not

a oh [ __ ] what do they call he he he's a particular kind of Christian now and he um he had throat cancer except now he's saying I did not have throat cancer I'm sick because they gave me a tracheotomy what but I never had throat cancer because I prayed so didn't happen it's just it's just amazing that it went went away at the same time as the surgery also amazing someone have any throat cancer went in to get tracheotomy he didn't have it they they told him he had it and then that that negativity causes these kind of things but he actually never had it because because he prayed about and he never had it so now but now they they gave him a tracheotomy and now he's got his his life's miserable cuz he's got this tracheotomy for no reason so anyway

it's just interesting article kilma okay yeah Kilmer crazy because apparently he had an argument with Michael Douglas about it because Michael Douglas also had cancer and he was like oh vilmer and I vilmer was like don't don't include me mate I didn't have cancer and then my was like all right B sure whatever wow sure cancer denialist go back to being famous with your great career but that's why Val kilma always wears scarves now because he had a tracheotomy oh yeah I didn't hear that the only thing I heard about him recently that he was begging to get back in the new Top Gun oh he he is in it cuz the article talked about that too yeah he like he's in it but wasn't because they asked him it was him asking them oh yeah it also said the article also said
