Kassuuk: Dinklage on Dwarf Casting & Respawn's New Star Wars Games

so we started talking before the podcast everyone went wait wait wait this should be the podcast yes and then we start recording and then we just go silent well it's your job to kick off the conversation usually although that's lead us in L yeah that became the UN official intro was just you saying something I know but welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to all things nerdy okay well I I thought it was funny this on the latest Always Sunny podcast they were talking about how they no longer can have conversations with each

other because every time they start to talk about something one of them goes save it save it for the podcast and that's been 10 years of our life exactly yeah yeah about 10 years ago that's what we started doing and now we just don't even bother talking to each other outside of this show it it is so funny though watching cuz I've started listening every now and again watching they are going through what we went through at the start of our podcast yeah exactly like they they're learning how to like to talk to each other not talk over each other then yeah not being able to talk to each other outside of podcast it's sort of we when um accused of uh we we have not got better at talking over each other with the delay yeah that's right

yeah they're in the same room they've got no excuse yeah um I forgot what I was saying to you got do when Mack was accusing Dennis of telling him stories he' already heard and Dennis is like yeah it's it's because the audience haven't heard them yeah I I don't actually I'm not actually just hearing it for the first time you know what acting is don't you yeah but this is not acting this is real life like what an actor does I'm still performing and I know that call I can't I can't not yeah Robin Glenn yeah like as if I know them you did realize this is they they videoed this week too I know I know which I think it's time we start considering it I mean I am looking at you now I just don't know that yeah I mean they seem just as surprised as I

look terrible at the we are that people watch podcasts but I mean it seems that they do look I I will look into it when I've got my time off work okay and then maybe it depends I might be very high that's what I'd do if I took some time off work I'd just get very high yeah I'll probably just get [ __ ] up I'll be honest I'm just going to write myself off big and a witch well I spoke to my Leist and basically they're going to [ __ ] me for the first 24 to 48 hours all yeah yep he said I'm just going I going to take this bat and we break the leg in order to fix it you will not be able to some more medical terms but I'm go with he's going to [ __ ] me yeah more so I have not listened to last week's episode that I was not on I apologize for that I did

learn in the meantime though that you're uh undergoing a procedure Luke so yes M so will you be present you think next little bit of length yes just getting that length might here I might not yeah width is fine it's length I'm worried about G so I might be here next week I might not it depends if I'm out of hospital you might be here and you might be very amusing yeah very high yeah which is always fine by us so should we just jump straight into the Boba fit so I have not watched this week so this is just going to be the a repeat of the Matt okay Matt okay it feels like they got sick of filming Boba Fett and have' gone let's make R Lor two episodes without Boba Fett oh is it okay and it's been great cuz I know I mean he was in the background of one shot this week it

sort of makes it very confusing what the last episode's going to be cuz there's only one more and I yeah right don't know how they're going to tie up any stories but it also seems like this is in a response to the audience's reac which is we don't like Boba Fett or anything in his story we do like mandal I assume that's not the case because this was made already filmed it but maybe yeah maybe you're right maybe they just did as they were filming good yeaha Morrison was like I've got way too much to say guys if I'm going to speak this much you're going to have to remove what I say from some of the later episodes cuz you've only paid for this many words so Matt if you haven't seen episode 6 but you have seen episode 5 remember how in episode 5 it felt much

more like a Star Wars than episodes 1 through 4 yeah in that it was good yeah I did enjoy that yeah episode six says Hey episode 5 hold my drink really okay and it's even got some like weird stuff that's stuff I sort of I know vaguely about from cartoons and stuff but I still enjoyed it like anvils falling on people's heads and things yeah if you put a if you put a fake hole on a wall you can craw through it yeah cool oh that sounds great I can't wait but yeah I have a feeling the next episode is not going to be as good though cuz it's going to be about it's going to have to have Boba Fett in cuz yeah the digital who knew man who knew that we'd be like oh thank God Bobble Fett's not in this because they I

guess they were too scared to do Boba Fett right off the bat so they made the Mandalorian but they basically just made him what Boba Fett would have been if they hadn't made another so they were like we they can't be the same so they like well we got to make Boba Fett boring I guess yeah but the thing about Mando is that yeah he is an anti-hero he he he does do good but only if it kind of serves his own interests whereas Boba Fett is now just an altruist you know what I mean like the guy's a philanthropist that's pretty weird it's not B Fett right no yeah Mando is Bobba Fett yeah oh well I will watch this week's obviously I'll probably watch it I think you'll enjoy it yeah I mean we can't talk about it now if you haven't seen it because you just need to go and

watch it directly after this I I apologize I will I will do that uh there is some other Star Wars news apparently respawn I assume you got I can't remember what when this got announced so I apologies if this has already been discussed but respawn who did fall in order are doing three other Star Wars games mhm I'm okay with that this is another new thing when was the last time we were excited about new Star Wars video games because for decades they were awful one of them and now we've had the last two that have come out have actually been good yeah are you including sadr I never played that but maybe I should take a look at that I enjoyed squadrons yeah I never finished it also for the price point cuz it wasn't was like a $40 yeah okay after

this it's got a it's got a series X update so it looks looks good yeah I'm looking for stuff that's just you know a quick play at the moment yeah but yeah we're getting what the Fallen order Jedi fall in order 2 which I enjoyed the first one yep uh we're getting another firstperson shooter game mhm mhm and discl and then we're also getting a strategy game they bit hit and missc style strategy game that could be great yeah I'm putting this out there exced please don't set it on tatooing put a full stop after T let's never go back there unless it's like what was the one that was uh it was an RTS that was like set you know during the I was it the Clone Wars and I think it was it set during all the wars

right so you had battles on all the various St are you talking about um Empire war is that Empire war that I love that that was great because you had not had land battles but you also had the space battles and so if it was like that yeah sure have one on T fine but but like yeah not just tne thanks no far too much happens for something that's the furthest away from the center of the Galaxy one of the best things about Fallen order and correct me if I'm wrong oh no that there were very few of any planets that I had ever even heard of in it it was Kik they didn't go to any of the three major ones oh kesik that's right yeah yeah but i' never they didn't go to T or indor oh man I I listened to a podcast recently or just before

Christmas actually where they were reviewing the Star Wars holiday special um and they kep they kept saying kazuk instead of kashik what and I was just just the guys in the podcast I guess they just looked up what it was called online saw the word and assumed they knew how to say it zook and I was just like no you can't do that if you're a fan you know what it is why are you talking about it if you don't know how that makes no sense and at one point like these guys have no right to be talking about St that's right yeah all what are their names what are their names one series that Luke knows how to gatekeep it's star at one point one of them set it closer to the correct way and the other one corrected him and said no it's kazook kazook Ki Kashi no it's

kazuk it's kazook yeah yeah trust me it's kazook we've all know it's kashik for decades now y don't they say it in the holiday special I I I'm not been a very long time since I've seen it but I think I do maybe want to go back and re-watch it no no the only time I'll re-watch it is if all three of us are together one Christmas oh that would be nice we can introduce our children to Star Wars for the for the first time yeah and each other can we just skip the start where it's just the wookies with no language the the grandpa jerking off to virtual reality porn that's so weird yeah I know I George was like I delete that yeah for [ __ ] sake um but mind you George Lucas has a

precedent for that because in THX 1138 his first film there's only two channels on TV the violence Channel and the sex Channel and it's kind of VR and um the main character THX is just sitting there and he watches the violence channel for a while which is just two cops beating a man and then he just switches over to the sex Channel which is just a lady doing a sexy dance so somebody probably watched that and was like George Lucas is going to love this it's a it's like poetry at Rhymes yeah a lot of people did have to sign off on that and also remember Harrison for luk Mar care they all agreed to it as well contractually obliged I think is the term you're looking for sure car I'm not sure Carrie Fisher was in condition to agree to anything yeah not sure she knew

I'm just I'm just remembering Mark Hamill's makeup in it oh yeah very just the fact that it was shot on video you know what I me it was just it was just not right in so many ways no but I guess at the time that just looked the same as how we watched Star Wars like on we wouldn't have noticed yeah I can't even imagine watching stuff the way that I watched it as a kid now with like CRA going through the screen the whole time yeah yeah missing half of the frame on either side yeah exactly this year we do get gut into the Galaxy holiday special that's true so that could be interesting yeah he's he's doing some good stuff lately Jes gun just left I think people are just letting him do his own thing out good I haven't watched Peacemaker yet I got to watch Peacemaker that's is

it all out it's good I think just six is out now right not quite okay but yeah it's on binge so great yeah know looking forward to that from everything I've read it's it's excellent the the opening dance sequence I just love of each episode just dance sequence in each episode the intro it's a it's a dead sequence yeah right it's great like Family Guys style sorry like is this the it's one intro that they play each week or every week they work in a yeah so watch it watch that now sure okay you don't have to wait just watch the intro yeah we get uh we're getting Guardians volume 3 and there's a news article here that says you know it's the end of the series you're not going to see the team again and I think we knew that but like

this seems to it seems like they're saying now actually probably none of them are going to come back again they're going to die quit no I just don't I don't know about that no because was talking about how he's not going to do dra anymore but he said he said someone else should do it but I'm not going to do it and then it's like they haven't recast in this kind of latest wave though they've just introduced new characters but I guarantee you that the CGI characters raccoon and uh group will be back yeah they they'll be back I reckon St I honestly I think starlord will be back Chris Pratt you think he'll run out of work I don't see him I don't know he's uh if he keep the mask if he keeps the mask on he can they can get anyone he gets an Academy Award for this

Mario voice he's got Brewing up yeah you might just see him on the Broadway stage from now on doing real starlord will be back as Mario it's a me I think it's Batista who's definitely out yeah Batista wants to do some serious acting which kudos to him Ian he's done some he's done I mean he's been in some great films they just don't write in large Parts no but I don't know that he I mean no offense to him he does a great job at the roles he but I think he gets given those roles for a reason I'm not I can't imagine him doing you know some kind of monologue kind of you know yeah exactly yeah he's he's good but he's a large man that's what he's good at being so yeah but what what he's very good at being is Drax because it's a large man

with very few lines that are perfectly timed perfect humor and he is so suited for that I mean he was great in Blade Runner but how many times can he do that it was almost like they could have written that character for him right like he he it was a very particular played to his strengths which was it was it was a his physical appearance played into it but also his he was like softly spoken he didn't didn't have to give a lot of dialogue like I can't imagine him you know in Schindler's List or something as you know list yeah obviously he play Shindler sh yeah I I I don't know he could do R Fin's role and just be like the biggest scariest Nazi out there Arman goth goth was that his name the fact that you know the names of all the Nazis man not all

of them Dan not all of them only the good ones just the special ones Matt did you read and I I took this out because it's since been disproven but apparently it was all the headlines last week that um an Frank's betrayer has been named I did see that yeah oh I did see that don't worry but then they haven't caught me yet no they haven't they haven't caught your granddad yet um no it it came out people started factchecking the um the sources and were like I don't think this is accurate I think you're just trying to defame one particular family I do have some advice if you ever want to go to an Frank's house go on you need to months in advance you King us or the German Army don't book barge down the door that's what the that's the mistake they

made don't know you're coming had I went there a couple years ago evidently they sell like 80% of tickets 6 months beforehand and then there's a raffle to get like the last few tickets each day that's I mean I I know we're making some you know jokes and stuff that but that is just so odd to think it's like a tourist attraction now yeah yeah I guess applies to all of the you know the camps and whatnot too yeah but I mean it's just a house it just looks like someone's house right yeah with a with a large cupboard yeah it's actually a lot bigger than you think yeah it would have to be right had old family in it yeah LS not buying this whole sub story if you ask me yeah yeah is it's just that the Jews are used to a certain

a 4H hour cut that was a bit too much yeah like there was an extra hour yeah [ __ ] people watched Batman and said there's an hour too much Batman here yeah we have to make some small Cuts well I know if it was too much Batman or too much Wayne M yeah good question yeah so I don't know but yeah 4 hours is very long I'm not almost because he is more of a detective and stuff is it more of they just cut the part where he's actually doing the investigation like testing samples and stuff waiting for the computer to finish analyzing just him walking around the crime scene looking at stuff going I don't know maybe h what are you thinking Batman this is why we need to film it you just did a lot of facial expressions

actual talking I was going I was making noises yeah but there more facial expressions all right fine hey hold on it's Batman you wouldn't be able to see the facial expressions so yeah good point you can see half of his face not during Co you can't he's got a mask on which also made no sense in the last Batman Trilogy Where once his face came out and said I'm Batman with that chin so like no we can see Batman Shin you're not Batman wait what which one Affleck not Affleck the the one before um Christian B Christian Bale Christian Bales remember when who claimed to be Batman I can't remember that the lawyer dude oh M right he came out went I'm Batman and you see his chin it's like no you're not anyone who seen Batman will know that's not you well that was the

like oh Bruce Wayne is is that your real name it's like oh actually real name is Batman that's why I chose yeah that is mine wa I mean I mean I mean [ __ ] I mean I'm got to go yeah you're All Dead Aren't you oh but there's something there's a tie into it that I would I'd love to be in America to be able to try would you have you seen this photo it doesn't look good you want to eat this [ __ ] thing so yeah so I want to eat that I would eat that Little Caesars have a the Batman calzone which is a uh it's a Batman czone and it I mean it look I mean it looks vaguely like the bat symbol I suppose does it though I quite like it's an honest photo this is a shack test of the Batman [ __ ] symbol but normally when you see advertisements for stuff it's like looks

amazing what you get is made by a 15-year-old kid who doesn't give a [ __ ] and just wants to but when I saw this this photo in the article this was taken by the the author of the article and was like this is what I got and so I was like well what's it supposed to look like and I scroll down and it's not that different from what they actually at least yeah I mean it doesn't look great in any of the photos well I mean was it the author of this article that Photoshopped it into the into the sky behind Batman is that his photo or is that the no I think that's the official one isn't it yeah you're right that's what I'm saying like it it looks pretty similar I mean it looks pretty pathetic here in the box kind of with half its cheese off do doesn't even look tasty

like I the bo looks pepperoni the outside of the box is great yeah I mean I'm sure it probably tastes fine I mean it probably tastes good also it comes with crazy sauce whatever the [ __ ] that is is there a winky sign after the one of that can find out well can you please investigate and find out what c i don't eat pepperoni and it's also got other animal inside of it that I also don't eat no no but you can call and go what is the crazy sauce oh what's the crazy sauce all right yeah sure sure I'll see what I can find out and then maybe they can tell you eat the pizza just a crazy sauce maybe they can be a veggie version of this is a calone just a kind of a pizza that's folded back in on itself yeah Inside Out Pizza like usually it's just you know

meant as a a one person meal I think either that I'm just a fat prick could be could be both but yeah yeah exactly I look at all pizzas as one person meals these days man yeah but pizzas here are [ __ ] huge compared to a smaller and smaller here yeah if I order pizza now it says for a couple of bucks you can get a square pizza okay and and it's bigger and I was like all right fine and it comes and it's it's enormous like like it's it's more of a desk than a pizza let's be honest Square pizzas are like it's so American cuz they're like why am I losing the [ __ ] corners who's rounding this off is my right to eat an entire box worth of this food let's see let me tell you the size of a pizza at the place I get pizzas

from because this is riveting content for uh listeners yeah we'll wait we'll wait let's just wait in silence while you look it up I generally get pizza from Famous Pizza in West Warwick near my house named after Davis wonderful that's right let's see order online how big I would order for pizza from a place named after him or a place he worked at in between jobs right it doesn't say it just says large or small large or Square okay that's annoying I mean if we' finished talking about Batman pizzas we do have some dwarf news if we want to if want to segue off of oric Davis oh yeah let's do it that's a yeah that works yeah so dinky Peter Dinklage came out this week and um I mean years

after the film came out and Matt I think you and I went to see this together did we the Snow White movie where there was a whole bunch of dwarves with famous actors faces superimposed onto them oh I didn't see that but I know I heard about that yeah right I maybe it was when we were living together I came home and said Kristen Stewart yeah Kristen Stewart was it yeah yeah I've not seen that that's the one yeah that's that's when Luke first started hating her because she was she lured that guy terrible person yeah rert Sanders yeah away from um that lured that poor innocent man away from that's right away from that model wife he had yeah exactly she's a monster anyway yeah yeah uh they got they got actual dwarves to

play the dwarves but then they got Ian McShan um Nick Frost and a whole bunch of really great actors to do face acting and then mapped their faces onto the dwarves so you you you were watching Ian mcchain and other actors that you like watching but as midgets it was it was pretty funny it was it was it was adorable it was very very funny the implication the way that the way that you said all of that the implication was they got these really great actors and then they got these little guys and so I mean you think you're looking at a good actor you know you're looking at you're looking at a filthy little dwar you're not yes well I mean that's kind of the point that Peter Dinklage is making in Reverse though and was saying um he has come out this week and said if you want a dwarf

why don't you just get a dwarf yeah absolutely and um he was criticizing not only the filmmakers for basically comping I was about to say a real people full-sized people full-sized people's faces onto go on go on nwarf actors onto dwarf actor bodies I'm trying to be as PC as I can um no I know but he was also criticizing the dwarf actors for um degrading themselves as to being in a film where their faces were going to be covered up um and he made a big stin about that and then the next day a whole bunch of dwarf actors came out and went you try turning down the only role for a dwarf that came out yeah all right for you Peter dinglish who gets all the all the [ __ ] War yes who has literally taken every single

dwarf roll for himself well yeah he's replaced War Davis as the go-to the goto dwarf yeah which is a terrible thing but even War Davis made a joke about that in his television show remember I forgot too short Life's Too Short he was making a joke where cuz he was a an agent and then he'd sort of like yeah don't worry about you guys and give himself the good jobs and yeah yes yeah no that's all yeah when you said that he was criticizing them I was like [ __ ] hell all right I mean if you're a struggling actor you take any any role right it's a major motion picture like I'd be like those are my legs like absolutely well even if not you'd just be like thanks for the work thanks for that I don't have to [ __ ] makeal pay my mortgage this month yeah that's

right I can maybe convince my parents that this wasn't a terrible idea like they told me it was I obviously my mortgage is smaller than yours cuz my house is smaller than yours I've still got to pay it it's a regularized house it's just got steps up to it the steps cost extra do we still have a dwarf watch jingle or uh so they all mad at Dinklage now I don't think they're mad at him I think they're just like uh hey think about it from this angle like it's very easy for you to say it it's very easy for us to say when anytime anyone thinks they're hiring you we've gone overboard saying it to beest me I'm closer closer in St to those guys than I am to you yeah you know I mean I just want to be clear that we definitely do not look down on these little

guys they're doing a great job I've got jokes but I just I just know Luke's going to make me cut them so what do you want to talk about do you want to go back to followup and we'll talk about uh Spotify Matt I'm sure you've heard about this even without listening to our podcast last week uh Joe Rogan pissed off Neil Young Neil Young gave Spotify the ultimatum Spotify said see you later MH yeah I did uh I think I I did see some interesting conversation around this I think a lot of people were saying that I mean Neil Neil Young's not stupid enough to think Spotify were going to kick Rogan he's just trying to make start a conversation

exactly and it's C did that cuz a bunch of other artists like Mitchell Mitchell JY Mitchell that's that's the word I'm looking for uh also and others and a lot of people a significant number of people uh canceled their Spotify accounts as a result not not I guess not even Neil Young fans in particular just people who heard about it and were like you know what yeah people that realized they weren't okay with uh have you seen that sp5 actually what their response to all of that is yes they've come out and now they've gone hey we want to give like everyone the option to talk about what they want we don't want to people aren allowed to talk about stuff that's dangerous to people but what we will do now is any show that mentions Co we will put a

little disclaimer on there whether it's good or bad yeah but kind of in addition to that what they've done is that they have published their terms of service for what constitutes um a breach of their stand standards oh that's right because we didn't know that before people because they actually came out and said according to our terms Joe Rogan is not in breach he he himself hasn't come out and endorsed antia or anything like that he's just had a lot of antivaxers on and giv them a lot of airspace whatever yeah but still that's being discussed on the show and I think I think the the biggest argument that's come out in the last week which is an important argument um is are they a platform or are they a publisher uh are they a med Network yeah because a library is a platform a

library is just they don't discriminate what books and a library doesn't commission books with to sit on their shelves well I'm going to point out when they're paying people to write a book then the situation changes correct they say write this book Spotify are are a media publisher in their own right with editorial content and they therefore have the responsibility to edit and curate their content and they can't just say oh we're a platform we put up anything so right I don't know with the amount of stuff that they have up there it's not possible for them to actually do that so you in the publishing case but but when they're actually producing the content which they are with with Joe now like they I mean they certainly can check his

content because they're producing it they own it yeah exactly right yeah but Joe Rogan has also come out this week and said and I think was quite an articulate apology although to be honest I think he was I think he's not an idiot and I think there's a certain amount of uh Showmanship in this too but he just kind of came out and said look I I'll learn from this too I certainly didn't want to push a specific agenda and um you know more than happy to try to have a unbiased conversation but the fact that he hadn't done that up until this point and he cre it a very um careful apology it was kind of one of those I'm sorry that you are offended apologies yeah but without actually saying it in a way like you couldn't really criticize it even if

you're being quite it was careful but it was yeah I know what you mean yeah yeah I mean if if you're intelligent you can kind of see the Nuance in it but he did the right thing and he did say the thing is Joe Rogan's always done this kind of stuff it's just that now in the middle of you know this whole Co pandemic thing it's more close to home like he's always had Alex Jones on talking about weird [ __ ] like you know people stealing babies to feed to politicians and all this weird [ __ ] and they always go and they talk about Tom Del long on to tell them that the [ __ ] government UF doing UFO [ __ ] and it's just that in this case it's kind of more important than all that stuff and see I'm starting to get to the stage where I think all of these conspiracy theories are just as

dangerous as others well potentially because it it sort of makes it so that well we can talk about all this other stuff why can we talk about this it's like well cuz the other stuff's silly and this is not silly and even I've been like very into Flat Earth for so long and I can really start if you're playing FL Earth Bingo take a drink now but I can see how that's a gateway to getting to other things cuz a lot of it is it's a way of thinking about to to believe starting you have to believe that everyone on in the government if you believe the government can lie about one thing you believe you thek the government have lied to us but I mean yeah and then with this to

there's I mean we don't have to go into it because I don't want to get a I mean we're probably going to get a warning before the show now anyway uh thanks Spotify but I mean there have been things where mistakes have been made by everybody but that doesn't mean that suddenly the people who were like thinking it was a conspiracy all along are suddenly correct like the mistake mistakes have been made it's that's all it is is the thing is also the there is a conversation to be had around things like should we still be in lockdown or is that actually just doing more harm than good a to the economy B to mental health things like that psychological um uh repercussions of everyone wearing masks these are valid conversations to have questions to ask and seek answers

do but that was the that was the the the the in my mind that was the promise of like MMA and UFC and all that was like get all these stars together and I'm like I get to watch E Honda fight it's who could get each other to the first and hug them the hardest it's all guys rolling around on the ground punching each other in the dick mhm yeah sweaty dick punching yeah cuz there was even announced that there's going to be a new um boxing game a new fight night coming out soon oh yeah and then they went not but the not before they finish working on the next MMA one and when um when those first I tried have my fighter as a boxer yeah but then you yeah exctly then they get me to the ground and I can't do

anything but the early days not of MMA necessarily but I remember the UFC before it was what it is today and it literally was just matching up different disciplines against one another so it would be a little Kung Fu guy versus a big boxing guy and who would win who would win out of this but it didn't take long they kind of figured out they yeah they kind of figured out which ones are the best ones yeah that's right it's like actually the best is if if you're the biggest and the fastest and the strongest and also you just pin them down really early yeah if you can tie them in a knot that's the best way to do it that's right I do remember when it first came out and they was selling like the vhs's like in the plaza people used to go oh this is awesome like this is

illegal they're not allowed to make or sell this I all like yeah they are it's it's a product that they're selling it's not there were some ear C that were a bit less sensor than they are these days we used always there I a series and there was a guy who was he did it was some um some kind of you know Fringe woo kind of Chinese martial art where they throw energy at at you oh yeah and it was yeah that's that's going to work against a BJJ guy well it's it's basically they're all they're all in know like it it's not real they're all in but but it's one of those things where you question whether the master has bought into his own [ __ ] now cuz all of his all of his students are like going along with it and so he thinks he really has powers and then yeah was he

was fighting some kickboxer and just got [ __ ] murdered yeah yeah yeah I watched a great one where yeah well even just not magic powers but there was this guy who was just a Kung Fu Master tiny little guy like Yoda kind of guy you know and you're like okay and he was up against this huge muscular unit and you're like ah here we go but you know this guy's bigger but this little guy's got the skills the speed you know all of this no no no he got hit in the face once by a really big fist and was knocked out yeah no he's he's yeah he's torn his arms off not going to get far without those mate you know what it reminds me of those old um what was that Capcom arcade game that was it was DC versus oh um there was Marvel versus Marvel versus Capcom and then

um Justice series which is like Mortal Kombat combined with DC yeah and it was like okay well I'll be Subzero well I'll be [ __ ] Superman yeah like I'll be the Joker you can't beat me yeah like okay I'm up against jug this is going to be over very soon I love those games because they always have a very dire serious DC style like story behind it and then it's just it's just fighting each other fighting yeah yeah just punching the [ __ ] out of each other did you guys I became aware recently that there is a sub genre a new sub genre of video games um called Haunted PlayStation 1 have have you heard of this and there's there's an official or kind of an unofficial collection that you can get of of games

that they dubbed the hored PlayStation One games but it's now branched out into a genre and any game that kind of fits in is now considered to be this genre of haunted PlayStation 1 which is games made now indie games horror games but made kind of in that that old kind of 32bit quas 3D style that PS1 games have um but like with a horr vent cuz you're right though because there's something about in particular like the first Silent Hill yes Silent Hill era exactly yeah the low res original and to Silent Hill too as well the they just the graphics weren't like great but they were just just so they had to kind of do more and the art style and it's just incredibly creepy that's why it's so

foggy in Silent Hill literally because on the PS1 you [ __ ] covered in fog that's right yeah yeah what was that one Z something from the same era where you had there were ghosts and if you took pictures of them you had a camera uh it was called Fatal Frame project zero called Fatal Frame in Japan and then it was called yeah project zero you're right yeah yeah um so I've terrifying game yeah yeah yeah but that's what I mean but so there's a there's a bunch of of new ones indie games that are on ichio and and a couple of them are on Steam and stuff too I've been I've been I I bought one yesterday called nobody lives under the lighthouse and um there's a bunch of others that like

they're just and they look like Silent Hill essentially and and they that kind of janky 3D I'm just the controls the fact that the controls suck made it even more terrifying yeah you like can't turn in time yeah like pyramid heads coming down the hallway and you're like [ __ ] running into the wall like a [ __ ] and I was genuinely terrified by yeah project zero you you can run away but you've got to point that camera it and then it goes into first person mode so you've got to turn around and the ghost is going [ __ ] coming right at you terrifying and depending how far you're back like you didn't have the analog stick you had the d-pad yes on the original PlayStation the ghosts in that were like Japanese ghosts which [ __ ] terrifying yeah yeah yeah there's one

thing terrify you or yeah the Western World got the ring and we had not seen the way that the Japanese did ghosts and it's [ __ ] awesome yeah that's right yeah yeah like that's yeah I can see why they're scared of that that's terrifying yeah that's right we've got some uh some Joss followup oh yeah apparently yeah kind of retroactive followup well you mentioned a couple of weeks ago that you'd watch the original Christy Swanson Buffy the Vampire Slayer and and uh while she was not molested because I think Justin wasn't particularly Hands-On excuse the p in that one just being being the writer and not the director but uh she's come out this week and said uh yeah we could assume he wanted to but he just wasn't couldn't get to us couldn't wasn't

couldn't get close enough well this is probably still at the stage where he's in the oh she's very pretty so she probably wouldn't go for a guy like me stage cuz he didn't have the power to be able to flip the script and yeah Michelle tratenberg is this is his words in proba very it was probably very difficult for him working on that set seeing her and and not being able to touch it so we should probably B sympathy for him that's right yeah looking at the calendar if he had a tried she woulded him back old man's day where you just to touch these women no there isn't I'm just it's cuz I'm not the producer if only I could be the producer then they'd have to let me touch them cuz of the implication but she came out and said

website and they would give you a part of it you're right I'll put an extra step in there to know about it you had to know about it in the first place yeah yeah yeah so and I'm still it's not quite clear what they were actually selling either no cuz nfts just make no sense to me so before Matt could sue them a whole bunch of other people sent them cease and desists and they have since ceased and desisted well yeah luckily for me Lu for me they pissed off way bigger fish and I just as soon as I saw it on Twitter I was like I SC lawyers this will be taken care of very short said look we understand look we've got the conversation started and but yeah like we we haven't done anything wrong is what they were coming out and saying sorry we you're all upset about this

when everyone's just going you're selling my art with no contact no permission no nothing it's illegal you can't do that mate yeah there was one thing interesting I saw coming out of this and I don't understand how nfts work but I was seeing one thing and if it was possible to sell your music as an nft or a game or something so you own like that part of it but that was you could actually like play that music play that game and then gave you the ability to unell it and then so you could sort of trade in that and then the artist also got I don't know if that's possible but I thought that was could be something that good that could come out of this it's I mean we could go around in circles talking about this cuz I feel like it's just not well defined like yes

that every time I think I understand it I don't and a good example is this week I watched Johnny Depp right Johnny Depp's bringing out a line of nfts right of painting that he has done of his friends and his dog right and I was watch I don't know why I even watch this [ __ ] video but it was like a 4-minute video and at about the 2-minute Mark I started thinking okay I'm I'm definitely not going to buy one I'm definitely not but I can understand why if he's doing these five paintings and you can essentially and he you know he's going to con you know digitally convert them to nft and you could buy what is essentially a very limited representation of a painting by Johnny Deb you know that's maybe that's something that people are TR screenshot of no no but you wouldn't do it because

you wanted to own it you would do it because you wanted to have it appreciate and value and sell it right you wouldn't do it just because you wanted this I mean they've proven that with the single Pixel nfts that they've done but yeah but then at the end he made 10,000 of them they're not even that limited you know what I mean like I I thought it was just the five and I was like okay I I guess I get it now you know they're very limited no he can make as many as he wants what and but that's and like I mean listeners if I'm just being dumb feel free to you know write and let us know and and help me understand I really want to understand I actually have in my my little to-do app right there is I have a to-do understand nfts try and figure out what I'm missing about nfts

because I'm I think I think I'm pretty technical like I'm you know I'm a software developer I have a pretty technical understanding of things and I I feel like I understand the technology just fine I just don't get what the [ __ ] anyone cares about it right so I think the is the scarcity right there's only one of them like you paint a thing it's a physical thing there's only one there's only one right all nfts are is just an artificial scarcity that we're just agreeing to right if we don't agree to it then if I don't agree if I say I don't care save as my copy of your nft is exactly the same there is nothing different about it well I mean the

differ the blockchain is different what you actually see is the same what in the blockchain you could say that as well I'm saying I opt out of the blockchain cuz the blockchain I who cares about that correct it's like it's like people buy but if you didn't care about the use the mem if you didn't care about the blockchain you wouldn't you wouldn't buy it I mean that' be you wouldn't buy something just you wouldn't buy an nft because you wanted to look at it like that would be thing that that but I look I do like the idea if it could be used into it replaces physical media so you sort of own it and it's something that you can on sale trade in and then people are still getting a cut of it I I think that could be something that could that requires everybody to just

play along because otherwise why would have to pay you for that's what that's the that's what the economy is right yeah I suppose cuz if Johnny Depp said I've painted five paintings and I've digitized each of them but I'm keeping it to the five right make a copy of all you want to do is look at it he how to do that isn't the power to stop me from making a copy that's that's that's my problem with this but but this is why I'm looking at sort of for more like a a video game or an album or something like you own it that you can got that you can on sell cuz the one thing I hated about like the training market for video games is the only people making money there were like e games and game and stuff like people who made the games no cut of it this could be a way of that being

something butt hey I don't want this anymore steam already does that though right you buy the game they give you a license to play it and they just don't let you sell it on now but they could just say you can sell them one now we don't need nfts for that well but is this the same as the talk that gets that to happen cuz Xbox were also going to do the same thing when the Xbox one came out was going to allow you to sell your games and was going to give a cut but but I think I think you guys are focusing too heavily on the content I think this is more analogous to you could photograph a dollar Bill and you could look at that it would look exactly like a dollar bill but you can't spend it but then see I get what so it doesn't matter what they what well then what is

the point of the art at all why not just why aren we just I think that's why some of them areally is Bitcoin it is it is just crypto right it's it's just a hash a string of letters and numbers it means nothing I just I don't understand why the art is associated with it at all so I don't know no and that's why I'm trying to move away from like that that type try get into video I've just remembered there is one thing that someone said that I was like okay that sounds like it could be useful was like tickets for things because if you had an nft ticket to enter an event it could not be scalped uh scalped or yeah it couldn't be scalped couldn't be uh you couldn't get fraudulent ones what they call that yeah you're right they could

trace it back they you they'd be like well who sold you this exactly yeah okay EXA yeah well that was sold to this person why do you have it but what that is that that's not nfts that's just a a interesting use of blockchain do you know what I mean like that those are those are the positive ways blockchain technology could integrate itself into our lives in the future but yeah I I I completely agree but that said if people are going to buy them [ __ ] let's make them and sell all right so what I should be doing is making nfts of my music apparently as yes that's what guess someone El someone else thinks there's value in it you might as well be the one pocketing the cash all right list as if you would purchase an nft of some of my
