also I haven't seen any of this it's a big Instagram Tik Tok movement too of um women wives with many many children doing like cooking videos okay dressed in you know like arish arish old timey clothes and a lot of them were trying not trying they are making but like the kids want SpaghettiOs so they make SpaghettiOs from the base elements of SpaghettiOs and it's just yeah it's it's a thing apparently and then that led me to an article I think in the New York Times about how actually it's not very easy e to do that stuff uh and like a lot of things on Instagram and Tik Tok it's [ __ ] oh yeah yeah you probably

don't want to do that I saw a meme recently that said why buy a sandwich for $6 when I could buy all the ingredients and make a worse sandwich for $12 I've seen that too people complain about that on Reddit where they're like yeah yeah the price of the ingredients was more than sandwich it's like yeah but how many sandwiches could you make and then the argument which is valid is only want that sandwich that one time yeah I mean a loaf of bread is not going to last you a week for a fresh sandwich maybe for toast it is but like if you want fresh bread that's three days maximum one loaf of bread yeah no I get it but yeah yeah there different go every time I'm at the supermarket though of like cuz like recently I was like I want to make

gingerbread I want to make my own gingerbread um and by my own I mean in a box with the premix but I cook it myself right yeah even that doesn't exist gingerbread is very complicated right sure so you can buy gingerbread you can buy all the gingerbread you want but if you want to make it you got to make it from scratch with [ __ ] eggs and flower and [ __ ] yeah that's I made a u log for we're having a u party today I uh made a u log again quite complicated yeah it's the most complicated thing I've food thing I've ever made oh really I attempted to make a pavlover today and by attempted to make a pav over I bought a pavlover base and attempted to on top which well see it was the cream that [ __ ] me because I just could not whip the cream

right we're talking about porn up year in review again right I the cream [ __ ] me I've got some some porn news but maybe that's the Afterparty um but I I couldn't I I couldn't get it hard if you know what I mean uh it was soft and then and then my brother said that he would have it go um and he got it way too hard and it turned to butter so oh you you warmed it up too much for him perhaps yeah yeah yeah yeah I I I started off yeah strong yeah yeah he overshot just that's right so um we had a creamless Pavo oh get more everyone

made sure they told me that it was apparently the cream that makes a [ __ ] Pavo good you know they made sure I knew that this is like that time I forgot to put cheese in the um kich if you I don't know if you heard that remember that story it was Brook we about recording this very show was a Christmas episode because we had we had um JP on to defend zat pet oh yes yes and he came around our Dutch friend came around ashot rist hash not rist yes and was there the whole time going it doesn't sound racist to me at all yeah he insisted that it was soot and that it was not a racist stereotype mm I mean I mean that makes sense I mean he believed that to be true that's what he is told

so you know um but he came around I made kiche for dinner forgot to put the cheese in and uh and then Jenna as she did had a go at me about it and uh JP was apparently texting Jordan going this is so awkward she's Furious Matt's really getting it now yeah he's like I feel really really awkward having a big domestic and then Jord told us later and we were like oh yeah no that's just how we speak to each other yeah right yeah we often do that and I afterwards we'll go I wonder if they know we weren't fighting like I wonder if if they know that you just you you'll call me an idiot if if you think I'm being an idiot but you don't mean it in any in any way that anyone needs to feel awkward about yeah

cuz she was like what the [ __ ] did you put in there then oh oh that's all right oh I got a message it's not Luke it's my mom oh oh okay I thought suddenly we had to watch our language no May another guest well it is my mom so maybe oh yeah I definitely would watch should I get her to come your mom yeah yes yes um just speaking of blackface really quickly oh um last week last week I mentioned that I was watching uh Peep Show yes and um I remember Peep Show being quite good it's better than I remember somehow a even that episode where um where [ __ ] what is with my brain where Jeremy is saying telling Mark that their him and his new

girlfriend are like trying to break taboos and it comes to him in black face well in black body as well and her going now [ __ ] me and pretend I'm your mom and and he goes isn't this racist and she goes if you don't want a black man to [ __ ] your mom that is racist who writes this [ __ ] it's amazing it's a good show it's excellent it's so good every single episode I'm laughing out loud to myself with my headphones on like it's it's just it's annoying everyone around you on the bus yeah yeah well it's annoying my wife who just keeps looking at me like do do you have to be so obtuse with your enjoyment of this show I guess I should start a rewatch it's very good right from the first

episode it's very it's just so good it's not one of those ones that just picks up its stride it's just great off the bat I haven't been watching much except the Great British baking show which we don't need to discuss because is that the one with n Fielding yes yeah it's great uh yeah I'll give you permission to like that that's fine it's always good it's always good uh this season also good um but I've been playing something I know you've also been playing I've been playing it a lot playing it quite a bit too I've slightly changed my opinion on it to be honest I've considerably changed my opinion since last week I don't know I don't know well maybe I'm just ignoring my opinion now I think that's what it is but that counts right if you can make a game that's fairly

poor game like where the controls are jerky and the [ __ ] combats like and somehow just make it really enjoyable make me constantly want to turn it back on then you've won that's fine and that's Indiana Jones and the great circle which I'm really enjoying y I'm in uh I'm in another country I I don't don't want to spoil anything so I mean several countries at this per I've I've I've worked out that at some point I'll be going to Peru it's not Peru haven't been to Peru yet I'm hoping we go to Peru right okay yeah must I found a clue that points me right there so well yeah I'm in Cairo at the moment I did notice one thing and it didn't annoy me but uh but

it is a flaw so I left the Vatican 2o early I think I mentioned last week I left it with I just I was chasing a dude I chased him on on an Airship and it took off it took me to Cairo right and I was like okay this is all F and I really want to look around CYO I've got so many finished yeah so I went back I haven't seen the PO yet really wants you to play in order because I took that girl is it Gina yep I took her with me to we're hanging yeah Gina we're hanging out in Cairo right I go back to the Vatican suddenly she's dressed like a nun again and barely knows who I am oh interesting huh hadn't thought of that yeah yeah it wants it wants you to complete I did enough of the Vatican that that didn't

phase me but I can see yeah depending on when you did it I mean it didn't it didn't phase me either but I just yeah I noticed it the only thing I didn't like about the Vatican I [ __ ] gave up trying to fight dudes in the [ __ ] boxing underground boxing I was I got better at that tedious did you yeah I don't know it's again it's one of the things with this game where I was doing that and then there's other boxing Rings it's not a spoiler suppose there's egpt and um and I went to the Egypt one and I found later in the game I was beating up dudes whereas I couldn't get past the second round in the Vatican and I was like I must have gotten better at the combat right so

okay your M well well well look who it is I'm glad Luke missed that because Luke had to miss us absolutely our hats and we would have had to offer Luke a big apology for oh crap miss out on now let me Chas speakers oh boy yeah I'll be back God I have a story I'll tell you why in a moment I'll be back okay can't wait I have a question for you Matt um when you're in Italy you are able to dress as a fascist correct giant Joy yes am I able at some point to dress like a Nazi if you're asking if at some point

you find a verm uniform you do excellent I haven't found it yet and it occurred to me that perhaps you didn't because of cultural sensitivity but I'm very glad to hear that you do machine games did the uh oh of course they did Wolfenstein games so I don't think they're shy about that as long as I mean I imagine Bethesda and maybe lucasfilm would be more worried about it than machine games uh and they no no no you can okay good yeah you do people don't acknowledge it in actually sort of in some comical ways at times where it's like I'm helping these people I'm dressed as a Nazi like yeah and they they know that right because the N the uni the disguises only fool some people right yeah the captains can see through

them that's right which is kind of also but if you like I mean I I I'll use the the Vatican stuff as an example because it's all like like if I if I dress like a priest and I I I can get into the you know the cloysters and stuff if I dress in the fascist I can go to the boxing for example but if I keep the fascist stuff on it doesn't stop me from talking to priests like no but there are areas you can't go into without it'll say you know you need to be wearing a clerical uniform to so yeah yeah and then I don't know if that happens in uh later on yeah I'll say this though I'm not a Catholic but if there's a job of just hanging out of that [ __ ] library in the Vatican [ __ ] just reading old Toms and stuff sign me up for that yeah

I'd do that job if it's anything like it is in the game it's probably not probably not no there must be just I mean is is is archaeology anything like it is in this game okay true true I was when I'm in Egypt I'm I'm basically essentially pretending that this is the sequel to um Assassin's Creed Origins sure right which you also go to Giza and see the pyramids and the Sphinx um but I seem to recall seeing images online that there's a city basically right up against those things now yes um was was it not there in the 30s that feels like not enough time for a whole city to have been built there yeah but I think it happened pretty quick I guess so if you I mean if you look at pictures of Singapore from the ' 80s until now

it's it's it's astounding yeah I've often thought that too because I I would love to go to Egypt but I feel like I would I want to go to Egypt a couple hundred years ago yeah you want to go with Napoleon possibly yeah I like I I mean I should still go anyway because I feel like it's just something I should probably go see enjoy it while we were there but later on we could say when I was in Egypt and that would be very cool cuz I know I mean I know that there's a lot of um it's very touristy which means same as anywhere else it's touristy you're going to get try people going to try to sell you [ __ ] or rip you off like same as Paris is like that as well I'm sure it's just like that um and yes I think that would

annoy um but then there'd be pyramids there yeah pyramids and a sphinx and [ __ ] tombs and [ __ ] a sphinx the Sphinx yes well yeah is that a sphinx is that one of the sphinxes what's the plural of sphinx just Sphinx eyes mind you when I the Sphinx in and I clearly I don't know in the in uh in the game the Sphinx is made of like stone bricks like the are for some reason I assumed the Sphinx was an existing Rock was carved yeah but I don't think so go back and a look at Assassin's Creed Origins well see Assassin's Creed Origins it's a lot smaller than it is in this game and so he coms on that too that's one of the things one of the things I thought when I in in when I was playing this playing

Indiana Jones was now I need to know how big the SX actually is and I don't mean in photos I need to go see with my eyes because the scale of this is a mystery to me now what's that now you're going to go I don't have time and I can't afford it but with those things aside do you guys want to go that' be a great trip yeah I'm trying to I'm trying to go to matchu Pichu not M oh yes mat sorry mat picu yes but I meant Chichen Chichen oh yeah that's very but EV like you can just go sit in the city and just look out over in Egypt yeah yeah right yeah there's always a spot like when when Luke you've been to Tokyo right yes so you know the um the crossing the very very famous Crossing

where like the best place to look at yeah but the best place to see it is not while you're Crossing it's from the Starbucks across the street and people flood into that Starbucks to just look down on it and get good photos I've heard this I don't know if it's true but you only really ever see like a picture of the p and stuff from one side and that's because if you take it from the other side you're seeing the city and it doesn't look yeah well it's just saying that like the city's basically crept up to the edge of them almost it seems like the the walls for the city came from the pyramids that's true yeah y they tore apart the pyramids to put them up yeah that happens all over too I remember one of the unpaved paradise to put up a wall that's how that song goes

isn't it yeah yeah yeah quite Joy Mitchell could be could be or no no no no it's not JY yeah is it yeah maybe um South America they do a bunch of that too some of their pyramids are now Huts oh no and and conservationists are going and going please don't tear these down and they're like we [ __ ] live in these HS yeah build some [ __ ] houses yeah not something pretty to look at we need somewhere to live I feel like yeah Egypt would be good um but my concern is um be very over stimulating um and I think especially with with lra it would be difficult not because I

feel like it would be a problem to have her there but I feel like I would just be overwhelmed by the kind of the busy kind of intense place that I believe that it is and having to look after her I feel like I would just that would stress me out if it's anything like Morocco we went to Morocco H and I and we were terrified and we are Travelers like we have gone to some weird places you know but Morocco was the scariest place I've ever went to yeah it's not that I'm bothered or worried about the people it's more that I feel like it's just be overwhelming and like and cuz I just because I'm not going to know what's going on cuz I'm you know I just if I think if I went on my own I'd probably be all right but I could just go hi we were we were really we didn't

we didn't think we were going to be scared but we were scared yeah and we were lost and we were scared and it was um like seriously like our hotelier told us all the different scams they'll say this they'll say this they'll say this and everyone said those things to us everybody like and at one point we got lost and somebody started to help us and then he started to say some of the scam things and we're like oh for [ __ ] sake like it was it was overwhelming just hop into this sack it'll be fine get in my sack I've been watching we were in Vietnam as well we had like we did a tour and the tour guide was basically paid for the tour and then he's called now that's a scam that's a scam they'll try and get you to do this

this tour is a scam give me your [Laughter] money that almost happened to me once in Los Angeles actually because we for one of those um uh celebrity house tours where they driveing around belir and just point out who lives where and we paid for the tickets and we get on this like open aired limousine thing and it drives you around and then on the way back the guy's like um by the way I don't get any money from from the tickets that you've already bought from that guy only gets that money so you guys all need to pay me too I mean that's how restaurants work here too to be clear yeah [ __ ] America who knows if he telling the truth he's just pointing at stuff saying yeah Bruce Liv there he know yeah so speaking of places traveling places I've been watching I

don't know if I mentioned this guy before I think I have the mik O K he's the YouTuber that um got well known cuz he made the videos in China like I think I've mentioned this before where he went to the regions of China that are supposed to be problematic and I mean he didn't have any issues which doesn't mean doesn't mean anything cuz no but still anecdotally it's yeah yeah he was just saying that like they tell you you know don't travel here it's it's terrible it's dangerous he's hitchhiking around having a nice time and it's just interesting go to people's houses and eating their rice exactly yeah meeting people and it's like well okay that doesn't mean I won't get murdered but it is interesting nice to see cuz you know they're good people everywhere anyway

his most recent one the other day he's in Iraq at the moment he's in Baghdad and uh yeah it's probably a place I'd generally avoid yeah yeah but he's having a good time he's meeting these people he's they're all very friendly and stuff so it's just it's just interesting I mean again I don't mean to say that no it's not that it's not dangerous but and he's he's lucky that he's having a good time I'm glad he's having a good time and it is but there's also there there's also places that are like you know murder capitals of the world that actually as a tourist you're less likely to be in trouble because actually everybody respects the fact that tourist money is helping their economy like that you're better off being a tourist than a

local they you cuz he is a novelty in these places like a he's a British you know white British man with a big beard well not big beard but he's got a you know he's everyone's looking at him and it's like places you just have to be white and then I wonder if that you know like if he's in less danger because people are like who the [ __ ] is that guy it's like well everyone's going to notice if I kill him do have a question does he have a camera crew with him no it's just him and his GoPro okay yeah that could also help he camped out a Great China he does some good brand in Sumatra right you are yeah haven't I not told you this I don't think [ __ ] I went to Sumatra which is in Indonesia and they don't speak Bahasa Indonesia there they speak Bahasa

Sumatra right so it's a specific language so we I had a guide with me to speak Bahasa and even he couldn't speak to the locals right so it was just it was just a cluster [ __ ] but I was there to film something very specific I filmed it but I was such a novelty there no white people were there at all and um this guy came out to me and was giving me coffee bags of coffee like ground coffee coffee beans yeah and and saying like can you essentially if if you take pictures holding my coffee you can have as much of my coffee as you want yeah right like said yes and yeah I was like AB absolutely yeah sure yeah evidently my pictures are up in the window of his coffee shop now it's like you're the celebrity that's the other thing too people give him

stuff um like he goes like bottles of water that people just they won't let him pay for things or taxes they won't let him pay this kind of stuff and it's like yeah it's cuz you're a novelty like I think probably for the locals it's it's not like that you're not that smooth but also and I hate to say this and please I'm just I'm just saying this as a yeah no like if you were a black dude you probably wouldn't be the same kind of novelty yeah sure you know what I mean like I think there's I think there's just benefits privileges if you will yes unfortunately yeah yeah unfortunately for him unfortunate for others yeah say I'm not I'm not yeah yeah I'm controversial I know I know well his his his Channel's more

still got that bug holding your back so you got bad bug but there are some good bugs did you read about this did you read about the guy who's got a bug that lets him play this in third person mode no I just saw it I wonder what how it would be cuz I don't know I think the punching would look weird I think the punching looks weird already yeah I do still sometimes miss that I still think every time I climb something and it zooms out and then zooms back in I'm like on you could have just picked a [ __ ] the weirdest thing for me is I don't understand how this is how it is you know when you you crouch right most of the time you're crouching around cuz you're trying to hide from some some fascist idiot and then sometimes you just automatically Crouch

when you climb something yeah but when he's walking around crouched his arms do this who the [ __ ] walks like that like is that how Indiana Jones crawl like crouches like what the [ __ ] is that the movies his little hands go like this I don't I don't understand that one is this available on PC P or is this console only yeah no it is yeah I for some reason I think if this was PC I would I would accept the first person mode much easier for me first person with a mouse is very natural but with the controller I I I feel like I need to see the the body I'm watching the clip of third person and it looks weird does it well it's not designed for it that no the legs are all janky and when he's straight when um wa I remember

when cyber Punk came out and people wanted to play that third person and someone made a mod for it and people were complaining oh yeah it doesn't work properly in third person and it's glitchy and B and it's like yeah that's cuz supposed to be that way they made a decision [ __ ] to them about is it yeah yeah huh yep didn't even notice there you go cuz people wanted it to be like Witcher three which is which is third person and it was a big diversion for them to go for a first person game I they've been so successful with third person so yeah yeah oh I started watching Witcher season 2 again I'm going to make a go of it oh yeah cool cool cool cool which I'm going to go back and catch up what happens in season 2 I don't

remember I I didn't get far enough to be able to tell you I'm still at that episode where they're at that beaut in the Beast guys house oh yeah that was good yeah does season two jump around again as much as the first one or no I don't think so yeah I think people got annoyed by that if they tried to do it again it would be a bit on the nose I was annoyed by I just wish that they would put up [ __ ] great when you had gone back or forward sure but once you realized that there were multiple timelines like that was such a great I forget what I forget the actual story point that revealed that yeah whatever yeah this is not happening right now yeah and and you know what that was a [ __ ] thousand years ago

all right [ __ ] rad let's go yeah love it love it um I've not been playing any other games this week any opportunity on but I did just pop this into the spreadsheet of something I do want to just have a look at did you guys ever play and I know you must have did you play Barbarian back in of 64 days of course so very good game uh what do you call it just one-on-one fighter like a street fighter or something like that right somebody has remade it now this year what right with a campaign mode oh my God it's still for 664 it's still looks it does he's not tried to modernize the graphics or anything but the game play is uh modernized to the

point where you actually proceed from one it's not just fight one dude move on fight one dude start again you actually have you know you I more like a like a brawler like I guess is my is my guess sier does doesn't it I have to check this out I just I literally just used to you pull back away and hit the button and he you do the spinny head chop I just used to spam that when I was a kid chop off head yeah is is the high anyone who's actually played this game is like oh the guy the game where you could chop off a dude's head yeah yeah yeah see I just love like it's they still keep making stuff for these old games now they're just getting better and better there was a the thing is this is this is you can still play this on a c64 it's not like like they've unlocked potential

in those old yeah that's what I mean it's not like they're taking a game and sort of now modernize it so they're just using the same technology with what they had at the time and they just know how to utilize it better there's a game that came it's a it's a new game that came out like last year or may earlier this year I I bought it I just T yet to play it because I was going to play it on my com 64 I forget what it's called it's it's like set in a ski resort and you it's it's a little like top Downy Pokémon style at the start where you're having an adventure and then you go find the yetis cave cuz it's like a base on that what's that game the ski free or whatever it is free yeah yeah what the the windows game yeah with the yeti

comes on and gets you and so anyway you go the and then it turns into like a a sides scrolly Metroid Vania Style game for a bit and then the last bit is like a different kind of game and and it's just and it's a literally actual commod 64 game just amazing there's a um there's a guy who made a Lovecraft commodor 64 game like yeah which I can't remember the name of but I played it on is it Vice the c64 emulator um cuz I don't I don't have a c64 I know some of you have three shut up I can send you one it won't work though B NTS doesn't matter these days you have to plug in does it matter like yeah if you'd have to get a converter for LCD LCD for flat screen anyway well you'd have to do that anyway

yeah yeah that's right yeah but it wouldn't work without voltage right you'd have to also get a power adapter that might be true 60 Herz adapter yeah you're probably right that it explode you're probably right it does I have a fridge that had that problem at least one at least one fridge yeah Indie retro news I've not seen this website before but looks pretty good actually yeah yeah you should probably bookmark that yeah I'm looking to see the Mega Drive stuff Luke you had a story I believe it's not a fun story about why I'm late about why you weren't here yeah I know I just I only got home from work about 11 o' this morning right long day from yesterday you mean from yesterday Jesus that was still 11 hours

ago though yes and I that's a long sleep I'm saying no well I think I didn't go to sleep I couldn't get sleep and then I thought I'd lie down about sort of 6 and I'll have a little nap and then the next thing I know I was late and now I mean don't get us wrong we assumed you were asleep we didn't assume you were out doing something else what you see why I'm out partying yeah that's the whole story not fun okay here well we're glad you able to make it I do have to go pick up a ham though H oh Christmas h a Christmas ham it's not a thing here well I think it's because like H for us it's it's something you keep in the refriger that's cold whereas your turkey's not a thing of Christmas here

either really maybe actually you know what I think ham is more of a thing than the turkey it's tough because I don't you don't eat either of them yeah yeah no but because turkeyy Thanksgiving so Christmas is like they have there's a Catholic Italian thing of The Seven Fishes or something that um that they do where you have seven meals that have fish in it which I obviously I enjoy that but haven't done that recently sounds all right I'd eat seven different types of fish absolutely CU I mean we don't do it cuz we're not in not Catholic or like yeah but you're pescatarian right you could eat fish yeah yeah I do yeah yeah um but I don't yeah I don't know what the uh it's not

so much a Trad Christmas meal as far as I can tell yeah right that's so interesting cuz in Australia there's a couple of different like you could do the proper Australian one where you go to the fish market again prawns and stuff like that or you can the British one where you you have your your roast and and all of that um something interesting you just mentioned eating fish and something interesting happened to me this week my daughter and I where were we somewhere where there was a fish pond and uh and she said something like hey Dad maybe some of these fish could be our dinner or something like this and it hadn't occurred to me that she had made the connection between fish the animal and fish the meat oh yeah because we haven't really had that discussion

and I thought there was going to have to be a time when I'd say you know a chicken and chicken are the same thing but apparently she's already know just a given yeah okay I'm ready to eat that pet fish yeah yeah cuz we don't eat me but lra and I still eat fish L eats fish too she [ __ ] loves fish and um she knows that no fish right yeah J doesn't eat any any animals and um and so at Thanksgiving they have like a little Thanksgiving thing for the kids at school at at daycare and we said oh she doesn't eat meat so can we send in a little fake turkey thing and that and lra knows this like she's just kind of we told her you know if if someone asked you can just say oh I don't eat animals because just make it make it easy for to understand easy and now she just says it all the

time and she's she knows like something I don't don't know it came up but something about chicken and then and she's like no I don't eat animals and then she goes wait chicken nuggets and we were like oh the Nuggets you eat aren't made of chicken and she's like oh okay like I but like you said yeah she's maybe we need to stop calling her at some point she's figured it out like she knows she I don't eat animals therefore I don't eat that kind of thing yeah yeah you know what she said to us this week though she goes she comes up she goes like Dad can I get a cat and I'm like no you can't get a cat and she's like why why can't I have a cat and then I said well for one reason we already have a dog and she goes yeah but we're

we're finished with him aren't we luk are you willing to swap one cat for one dog dog I I mean tr get along yeah Charlie adores you yeah um yeah maybe you don't trust her around Charlie he W we're done with him the irony is he [ __ ] hated her years because she would play too hard with him you know she didn't know you can't just grab him by the back leg you know um and now she finally plays well with him and he trusts her so he'll go to her for attention now whereas he used to and now she's like we swap this break L will try to ride it just won't be noisy and it'll just sit on my I'm

like well yeah actually that that is true it'll throw up everywhere it'll yeah demand food there are shit's in the house cats have their own issues yeah if you end up with one like Grim it'll try to eat everything oh really our cat's more of a problem than our dog is yeah G cats are just weird sometimes you'll get cats that just do lay there and do everything then you get cats that just you see a wire I'm going to rip that wire same with women sometimes you get a woman who will just lay there and do anything yeah it's Trad wife you need a Trad wife I've just suggested to Jenna that she become a for just for one afternoon what do what do you think Dan what do you think yeah I wouldn't ask her uh I've just looked up what do

watch Love Actually and everyone has to come as a background character from Love Actually okay but that's never occurred to me background character dress up that could be fun because when it comes on you're like that's me the mailman from just this scene that's a good idea yeah cuz they did it really seriously too it's like guy in a red scarf and you're like I don't remember seeing that guy but then you watch it together he's like there he is am there he is that could be fun speaking of that you just reminded me and we're g I guess we're going to talk about this is a is a new Superman teaser

trailer and I S just briefly saw on Reddit uh people reacting to the trailer and someone in the comments saying I'm the guy behind the guy that throws the can at Superman ask me anything amazing and I was just background character for some reason that bit where the guy throws the can is the most like replayed bit I've seen that singled out in articles yeah right quite a bit yeah I've not read set article so I can't tell you why but I wasn't prepared I didn't know we were going to have to talk about it no that that specific bit sorry should have warned you guys I've I've tried to avoid this but I don't need to PE so badly oh I'll bee continue on I've just got to go to a be 10 years of doing this podcast and

I've never walked out on it but [ __ ] me is this is this going to be like the Jinx where he's going to leave his mic on three years later that's why he's going to confess to the murders yeah but no I watched the trailer and it sort of looks like no but the opposite is true because I don't have my mic with you're not mid piss are you it's not piss but watching it doesn't look he's like the same Clark Kent he's not as as Superman you know I first of all I was when the very first opening thing is when he crashes into the snow and everything like that and I thought [ __ ] that looks kind of like Henry caval like in not in other shots but in that shot it I was like I could you sort of see it it's just features are quite

similar his profile um yeah the first sh of Cl K looks like a guy in a funny wig which put me off I was like yeah yeah I don't know very but no the thing I said as I said in chat I think there are too many enemies could be is an awful lot yeah I mean Spider-Man 3 solidified that thing where it's like you can't have too many cuz it gets kind of um hopefully that's not how this going to be also it's James gun so and the tone of this looks very different to what they've been doing you know with Justice League and all that the just visually it looks you know nice it doesn't look like it got soaked in coffee before it got put into the projector this is this is this is a soft reboot isn't it so

they're still keeping some of the characters is like Wonder Woman and stuff like G I don't think she is I don't think that's confirmed anymore and she's I don't think she's in this movie anyway I mean maybe but yes it is a soft reboot I believe and um it's got Krypto the wonderdog M with that that's getting a lot of hate I'm 100% fine with having have a little dog companion that is absolutely fto is it the Wonder doog or the super dog or crypto the Wonder doog from and the piss kids I am it's crypto the super dog you're a super dog I mean this precedent for I mean he's he's been around since the 70s right at least yeah yeah he's a character he's a character

in Superman that's fine it's fine I agree sorry I was peeing but I could hear everything you said so let let me just jump back in um I I think this teaser if it had any job was to show us don't worry this isn't some weird big alternate reimagining this is Superman it is a Superman movie because it was ticking all the boxes Clark Kent is in this he's a bit silly he loves lowest Lane like it's Superman's not a miserable [ __ ] yes this is a colorful fun movie by someone who enjoys reading comic books yeah I'm all in I'm all in I'm trusting of James G Drinker made a good point when he was like James gun does better with

anti-heroes and Superman is not an anti-hero he is the opposite of that so what's he going to do but I trust him I think he'll I think he'll come up with something well I might actually go and see a DC movie yeah mate this is this is I'm not going to go see CH oh I'll watch it at some point but I'm not going to go I I went to Wicked cuz it was you know I was like h no you know I've said that and then now I thought about it I'm like might be nice to go see a movie all right maybe we'll see you got six months to decide I do like popping over the theater with my hip flask and just quietly watching a movie two three hours especially if you go like manage to get do it during the day when there's no one there no I definitely can't do that yeah I don't there's no one there at night

was an actor first and I was like oh okay oh is that true kid wasn't she yeah whatney oh okay all right yeah a lot of those those guys like yeah I mean that's not our generation we don't we don't we we don't know those no I know what's her name from only Murs in the building yes but I didn't see her Disney show no no no but I yeah only I know her from only m in the building and then became aware oh she was a Disney I know her because she dated Justin Bieber that's the only thing I knew she did other than being in only murders in the building why is her name why can't I think of her name um Selena Gomez Selena Gomez she's alone Bieber I'm up to date you guys are you guys up to date with only now yeah yeah yeah watch season cuz I was I was behind um because I thought

season 2 was much weaker than season 1 and it's my least favorite show but Matt I think you weren't on I think it was just Luke and I when I was saying I was like [ __ ] I'm I going to force myself to watch the rest of season 2 and it turned out I had stopped at the second to last episode all right but then season 3 was amazing seon is the one with the with the girlfriend right artist yeah season three is the one where they're putting on the play yes that's a good season which was [ __ ] great and Martin Short it's his best work in anything he's ever done but then in season 4 where Luke have you started season four no okay I don't even want to see more than two two weeks okay the the stunt double mhm yeah yeah she's the one who gets murdered oh no but they think they must

have been trying to murder Steve and so not only they're trying to solve the crime but Steve M's coming come to terms with losing his friend and all of that stuff so season three making a movie Martin podcast oh yes they are season 3 is Martin Short's best best work in his whole career and season four is Steve Martin's best work in his whole career it's really good be the judge of that it's very funny you will agree if you I will eat my hat if you disagree but it's got the charact it's just got very good characters in it like cuz they're all very good but then also everybody else is good too like the [ __ ] the the gay guy yes yes he is [ __ ] excellent every scene he's in I laugh out loud he's just in every scene in the opening

animation he's walking his cat on a l pass except for season 4 where he's got a pig he's got the pig yeah that guy is so funny he really really is funny and he was a throw way character in the first season he was obviously so funny that they were like he's a main character yeah yeah no more [ __ ] Amy Schumer right this guy that's right forgot yeah that was at the very end of her career wasn't it I think that was her last sort of put me in something I watched have you seen she's gone now she's dead no evidently she's a notorious joke stealer yeah I've heard that you guys know about this so there's I watched two half hour videos of side by side really other people stand up and her stand up some of it I think okay

come on that's Zeitgeist two people could have come up with the same joke about this but some of it is word for word so you're like okay maybe H I think everyone just got bored of her as well because it was all just just the same sort of jokes rehashed a lot when she was doing a lot of a bit just like she's a [ __ ] and stuff I heard her tell that getting fingered by the taxi driver a story so many times and I think yeah people just got bored of it like heard that story you've heard the story now Matt that's that's the story okay got figured by a taxi driver shock humor was funny at the start but then it didn't progress yeah the the funniest thing that she has ever done she is not in it's the promo

for her Comedy Channel special that is a parad of 12 Angry Men you know 12 Angry Men the movie about the jury right none of them can agree on whether he K whether he committed the murder or not it's that but it's a room full of men trying to decide if they would [ __ ] Amy Schumer or not and and and and they're going like she's not hot but I I think she'd be up for it so you know like yeah it's really funny on the back to Superman which I forgot the we were talking about before some people like it some people don't like it um you know people are mixed on crypto people are loving Lois Lane based on that one shot of her I got problem I guess cuz she's hot I guess is that why people like her I think she just is

she's acting like Lis Lane in the comics so tick well she's just walking around an office you really can't tell this is such a safe trailer I I think month give us a of what this movie actually is yeah yeah because I mean she just a teaser just to go who plays who plays I was just going to check that too because um what's her name because I was trying to figure out what else is she in do I know this actress probably yeah I just Lois for some reason thinking Rachel BR Brosnahan Rachel Brosnahan American actress she's in nothing that I've

seen literally nothing that he's famous for oh The Marvelous Mrs masel that's who she is which I haven't seen as well but yep I think Al apparently she plays call girl in 19 episodes of House of Cards which I have seen but I don't remember yes I do of course I do yeah yeah yeah there's a whole subplot where a hooker that he slept with is like put into like um like protective custody yeah okay okay okay well she's also in a movie called louder than bombs and she's in that movie with Gabriel burn who I love but also Jesse Eisenberg and we've got some Jesse Eisenberg news which is convenient because this week he was being interviewed about about a movie he's in that's doing quite well and they asked him about Batman vers one with kieren cin right I don't know he's up

for an award for something I think right I can't watch him anymore I can't of Batman vs Superman because of Batman v Superman well that's what he talked about he said that he thinks that that movie really really hurt his career because it was terrible cuz you know what particularly terrible in it yeah yeah he was the worst part of a bad movie yeah yeah that's not what you want to be no cuz here's the thing and I I I like like people disagree you can write in if you want I don't give a [ __ ] I liked Henry Cav as Superman yeah he's I mean find me a Superman with as good a body as Henry caval I'll eat my [ __ ] hat right Henry caval looks like Superman sure he looks like him was it a was it a [ __ ] movie yeah it

was a pretty [ __ ] movie did I enjoy it anyway yes I did go [ __ ] yourself but but like I think you know but but but Jesse Eisenberg like he ruined that he he really did he really did ruin that movie yeah he was like yeah everyone remembers the bit from that but well oh yeah why are you saying her name also I think he was a weird Choice cuz he was so young but they played up to that too I I didn't mind the fact that he's like I'm not my father all of that okay but the fact is if you give an actor who like does it better than Neurosis the Jewish neurotic thing and just say just [ __ ] lean into that there's never going to

that's unless you're Woody Allen that's not going to work yeah yeah well he says he thinks he lost work because of it so I'm not surprised well it must right because if if part of the reason they hire actors is so that people will go see the movie and if if there's a public opinion that an actor is not very good they're not going to hire him yes yeah I guess the problem is now that I think about it he did a perfectly good job of that role it was probably just written badly as well and he probably played it exactly like he was told to play it yeah yep it wasn't he couldn't do it I'm sure yeah cuz I mean I've heard this

before if if a movie an actor is bad in a movie you can probably blame the director yeah if if an actor is good in other things and not in a movie that you saw it's probably not their fault yes and I think case in po a good case in point is Keanu Reeves right who actually isn't a good actor but some directors can make him look good but if they don't try he just comes off pretty bad but I'm also looking yes it hurt his career he's been in two to three movies every year since it came out yeah and surely that [ __ ] card trick movie came after that and that was massive was that after that yeah well one of them was at least there's two of them right oh same year y Now You See Me same year now you see me too okay

yeah no and then Zombie Zombie Land to came out three like no he's done yeah you're right this hasn't hurt him at all no justed to cry baby yes but I'll say this I don't like him I don't like him as a person because of that yeah if he came up to me and straight was like hey man you want to hang out i' be like [ __ ] off Lex Luther he's too he's friends with Chris and Stewart that'll never work is he he friends with her do we know they're friends well they've been in quite a few movies together that doesn't mean anything they get cast in those movies together I assume their friends if it recurs sometimes it's like I mean you could say that the Pineapple Express guys are always in the same movies together for for the reason of wanting

to do movies with their friends true yeah but what have they been in what I I can't even think off the top of my head um Adventure Land and there was another movie I remember I don't I don't remember them cuz I don't watch them you don't watch them yeah yeah yeah Adventure Land Adventure Land and she seen something else with him I'm sure when I look at Adventure Land I really want to watch that in is but but I've help out because I don't like her but I think it looks like a good movie yeah I remember that actually it looks like a kind of this is horror movie or some it looked like if the abyss was leaned into the horror a bit more instead of the scii that's looks like to me deep star six remember that movie that's oh yes star deep star six or deep

SE yeah deep star six I mean it's not a good movie but it is good no no but it's an enjoyable movie and that's all that a movie needs to do I'm just going to type that in so I can remember to put it on my list and rewatch it it's a ridiculous movie but it's about a monster underwater So speaking of movies about monsters we should move over to the Afterparty soon but before we do that I just want briefly mention I know I just want to briefly mention that I found out that 28 years later is the first they're calling it the first of a Trilogy and I was like well it's also it's also the third of a trilogy trilogy so it's the third of a pentalogy surely yeah right so uh but I was just confused

by the just the fact that they've already committed to making three more yeah three yeah so no two two more after this correct yeah like as in they've already shot the next one shot it back to back and there's a third one did they yeah it's called The Bone am I right in thinking this is shot on an iPhone and I know the whole thing was that he shot the 28 L is the first Hollywood movie shot on a on video rather than film that created the entire Revolution that was a Panasonic camera was it no Canon was it no it was the Canon I think it was the XL1 that that one yes the one you could put the cine lenses on yes yes um yeah and that was kind of almost a mistake too because they went are you pop Cinema and then everyone went sorry what yeah

and changed everything but uh we joked about like when they made when they said they were going to make 28 Weeks Later we were like is it going to be a 28 years later it's like do you remember zombies no yeah 30 years ago like but now there is and then yeah sequel they're getting rid of the 28 things and changing in it's called the burn Temple oh and then there's there's another one that's not written or uh scheduled yet but the so we get 28 years later uh on June 20th next year and then the next one the bone Temple will be out uh January 2026 so 6 months later holy [ __ ] wow wait yes no yeah really yeah yeah wow six months

later that's quite amazing film it ready to go why sit on it I'll say this 28 Days Later was is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and 28 Weeks Later while not one of my favorite horror movies is still a very very solid sequel so I'm I'm fine did you see the whole thing though is everyone was like San Murphy's back and it's like that's not him also I know it's Killian but for some reason my brain just when we saw 28 Days Later that's what we called him know how to pronounce it um just on the iPhone thing it is shot on the iPhone but it's shot on the iPhone in a way that not not like they just held up an iPhone just to be clear from everybody it was an iPhone in a big rig sure potentially with okay but here's what I don't understand with like

lenses and things why not just get a camera then at that point why not just get a camera sure because I think in some cases you can shoot on an iPhone with an external like capture device too which is like well then it's not what are you doing like I don't know that they did that I think maybe is using get that black magic make this beautiful little camera it's about the size of an iPhone but it's not a phone it's just a camera right like like yeah why not do that what you want is just put it out there it's got people talking yeah but that's my point is prob the answer yeah it's got to be right cuz why would you do it otherwise either I also Apple might have paid for this mie they might have said we will give you

the whole budget for the movie if you say you filmed because it's directed by Danny Bo again the guy who did the first one he did train spotting he did he donees he's he doesn't need to save money by using it by shooting it on his phone right he does not he's probably got cameras at home he made enough from just Slum Dog Millionaire yes to never have to work again this is not a budgetary concern this is a choice and as you say they would have to go out of their way to make an iPhone cinematically appropriate yes it it definitely was shot with lenses in front of it I don't know like there's no way they just they didn't just do this and go okay action they gave all act abely said everyone film each other we're just
