right have you used a Japanese toilet before no I haven't I've seen photos of them and uh there's lots of buttons but the most important thing is you sit down and they are heated that is luxurious and then they spray water up your ass I've heard that as well it uh did you did you have a go of that I did maybe we don't want to jump straight into those details the first time you encountered one of these toilets uhz like I said I've seen photos lots of buttons did you know what to do did they train you did you give like no there was no training there's no inflammation information booklet it was just hero buttons they did have some pictures on them okay so was it obvious what they did not really I stayed away from it the first time I just used it and went away
pooped in the corner yep then I came back the second time not I'm going to play with buttons I mean you I assume it's safe like there's not eject button or anything so no I or I didn't find anything like that okay but you enjoyed the experience yes so I'm actually going to buy one really yes they are not a crazy price can you have it in I mean we don't have to talk this about this to the podcast if you don't want but you renting I'm renting I'm not going to buy it for the place now when I buy a house it's going to go in there right or you just going to buy it for now and then install it later yep cuz it's not an actual toilet right it's the toilet seat that you're buying is that so well the way I sort of s it looks
like it's just a seat and then you get that installed and then that sits on the top yeah and it it gives you a bit of a clean so that I mean that's what the spray does right it gives you a bit of a clean afterwards yes some of them had dryers it was heated water it used as well drer yep that's I mean is it effective we don't have to go into too much detail is it effective I didn't trust it completely yeah okay I wouldn't either I wouldn't but I guess if you got to know it maybe maybe but yeah no I just not quite yeah it seems like something I'd want to make sure of before I trust the random spray from a from a foreign toilet they look pretty cool though is I mean was that your favorite thing thing about Japan the toilet um I would have to say yes
interesting one thing I hated over there mhm using money right very big on using cash over there oh okay like when I got out pay for my card sometimes I'd get a strange look like well why are you giving me this and not just giving me money right well it's like that here in Orbin a bit too um is the money I is it difficult to understand the difference because I assume I mean because the language is is obviously very different is the money very different no no it's actually got like I think it's you got uh 1,000 5,000 and $10,000 notes right and that what got me was the conversion rate cuz I just couldn't keep in my head what it was so I was just walking around with
plain money so I spent lots of money I always do that in the holiday even if it's like to a you know like to America or or England or somewhere I can't the math is too complicated it's too hard I know what stuff's worth in Australian dollars and if if you say to me oh this t-shirt if I'm in any other country and they're like this t-shirt's $10 that means nothing really yeah I have to look around at other things and compare it one thing I still need to put up on Instagram is me and a photo of what I made oh yeah please we had requests for that yes I forgot I'll put that up tomorrow you did really well we had a lot of requests you no no no you were good we we we had a lot of requests for you to do things um um now I do need to make sure that you did some things there
was one very important job that you have you able to complete your one very important Mission it's not legal over there anymore it's not legal no due to occupation health and safety reasons you are no longer able to buy stoed underwear from vending machines when did this happen I don't know I searched everywhere I went to CD sex shops red light dish streaks you're such a such a trooper did you how did you find out that it was illegal did you ask asked around spoke with some people know yeah no you can't do that anymore interesting who did you ask just random people shops in like sex shops gu oh okay oh interesting oh must we went on cuz when we went over there we went for
a few days in Osaka they went on a 9-day tour shout out to them G Adventures it was a great tour really what' you see yeah um we started an infos Saka then went to Kyoto oh cool then hoshima wow and then to Tokyo with a few places in between as well yeah wow and just there was a lot of walking so you know what I get like so it was a lot of drugs while I was there yeah yeah for listeners who don't know Luke has a very bad leg so I'm still paying for that now but that's fine you did you take your wheel at all I didn't take my wheelchair okay no it's too hard to sort of it would have been far too much to get around over there and I don't think that would have let me go on it um far too much walking your wife did text me at one point and ask how I managed to uh get
you to stop pushing yourself so hard when we were away and explained that I beat you with your walking stick mhm until you refused to get up I fig I'm there I'm going to just go through everything I'll do it all and I'll worry about it later I know that's your way yes I know and plus how often I going to go to Japan yeah no the fair point I really got to go uh did you find like culture you know like this big culture shock well it was but I don't they were so good over there cuz they knew that I didn't speak Japanese at all of course yeah so I just smile at them yeah but there a few nights where like heading back to hotel want to grab something walk into McDonald's mhm they have the menu in front of them and I can just point at what I want oh okay cool yeah
know I've I used to work with actually for Japan company and they were so polite and like genuinely I don't know all yeah very considerate and and polite like yeah we're just jerks in Australia yeah I got that impression too like where is yeah the one thing I could not understand the place was so clean but there were no bins yeah what do they do with it you you had to hunt to find a bin to throw something away you're just not you're not supposed to be eating in the streets perhaps no you're not meant to eating and drinking while walking that's a no no oh really yep hm did you get shoved into a Train by a push of people yes you did yes amazing a few times that's cool there were a few times when
we're on a trade and we go yep we're full and then it pulls up at the station and then people just kept walking on and went no there's no room like I can't move and they just made it on somehow if you listeners if you haven't seen this look on YouTube for like train pushes in Japan like it's cool well it's not cool it's ridiculous but I think it's really I don't understand they just shove you in there if you miss that trait you wait like five minutes and there's another one how do you if you were on the train right and then it gets to your stop but you're like shoved in the middle how do you get out you just push your way through amazing you push back out so funny vending machines over there amazing yeah there'll be a few nights that I forgot to pick up a drink or two
take back to the hotel with me sure so you just go find a vending machine what did you drink when you were there um I managed to find Gonic eventually but my drink of choice over there was actually a cheu high what is that I don't know it's a Japanese lure huh and just you can get in lemon and lime and grape and so I just had lemon cheu house while I was there so now you're going have to find that here and they're all like 9% like I'd walk into a 7-Eleven and buy this huge C and it was like 9% alcohol I I go through phases and then yeah then I forget yeah and then it's like I'm here I'll just experience it now yeah yeah forget about it we're one of we're those weird anomalies in our generation who just don't care about social media

odd news uh this one's not dick related this is uh this is I guess Tech news or open heart surgery news at the same time I'm going to be nice and not say we should need a a theme onun for that thank you appreciate it yeah I'm not ding so this uh this just made me laugh it's not funny it's terrifying but um it does does go to show you know uh computers are used in all sorts of uh applications these days and uh just don't just don't [ __ ] around with the computers at work right especially if you're performing surgery so a heart patient undergoing a medical procedure early this year was put at risk when misconfigured antivirus software caused a crucial lab device to hang and require a reboot before the doctors could
continue that is that is terrifying see what I thought it was when I saw the headline like the the it was interrupted I thought it just popped up hey it's time to update and I thought cuz someone's been hitting that ignore button the Windows 10 update y just ignore do it later don't worry about it and then finally got to Stage no you have to do it now so my thing is update when at all the time as soon as you get update just update that Windows 10 thing is pretty pretty Shifty though like CU people I know people really don't want Windows 10 I I don't have a PC right now I'm using a Mac so I did have Windows 10 I thought it was fine but some stuff doesn't work but they've done this thing apparently Microsoft where when the window pops up to say do you want
Windows 10 we're going to install it for you if you don't click no if you just you know you click the little X to close the window that counts as yes so and then it schedules the the update to install over overnight so you close the window thinking no go away and the next morning you come down it's like hey good day Windows 10 year I hope I didn't wreck anything this is why we should actually make pay attention to what we're clicking we're all trained to just accept things or close things and also it why is there back to the article right if this is important equipment required for heart surgery right why does it need antivirus this thing shouldn't be on the internet I I I I think like unless there's a very good
reason to have it on the internet during surgery it seems like like because I used to work for a company I'm not going to name the company um we used to have a lot of quite specialized engineering equipment right and some of it required old PCS with with serial ports right and we couldn't upgrade anything on the PCS so they had Windows 95 on them and this was like I'm talking in the era where we had um XP and Server 2003 so it was a while it was a little while ago but not that long ago and these things still had Windows 95 on them right and people were like oh I want to connect it to the network so I can check my email on it and we were like [ __ ] no like don't put that thing on the internet like if if you ever want it to work again no like what are you doing well this
might be it might need to connect to the the network the hospital Network to get information or relay information for some reason maybe yeah it seems like a bad idea to me well and as evidenced by the fact that this happened and look the guy's fine uh the cause for the reported event was due to the customer not following constructions concerning the install of antivirus software there is no indication the reported event was related to product malfunction or defect that's the other thing it may not it may not be connected to the internet but someone was told goall this antivirus on all the computers and this person just went around and installed it on all of them yeah I just really think important Machinery like this should just be
isolated from from that kind of stuff but you know what do I know I'm not a doctor so was the machine doing the surgery or well I mean the picture on the article leads me to believe it's just a heart monitor but I mean that doesn't sound I mean I I know yes obviously that's crucial so maybe it was just a case of all right everything's fine oh suddenly we don't know if he's dying so well you've got his heart open just look yeah sure but I guess it's like hang on a minute while we get this thing back up and running just in case because I assume they use this equipment to monitor from I learned from uh watching house that um you got to watch it yeah you need you need to be able to hear it go to know when there's a problem I think that's its purpose can
we get on to exciting news now yeah this is is uh this is where you get erected rumors that Microsoft will be announcing two new Xboxes E3 yeah interesting the first one I don't actually care about at all the slim the slim mhm it's I think it's too early so they're talking about they're going to release the Xbox slim so remember when they came out with the Xbox 360 the slim version yeah they did a couple times I think there were a couple versions yeah so I I knew that was going to happen that was always going to happen at some point you can get better components cheaper smaller yeah it's always going to happen so there's talk of that one coming out this year uhhuh the one coming out next year is the one I'm looking forward to okay if the rumors are true mhm it'll support
the Oculus Rift yes I heard that and will be like three times more powerful than the current Xbox is it I mean if that's the case if it's three times more powerful than the current Xbox is it it's not an Xbox one is it it's a new thing well or they going to keep is a new thing I think a lot of that though will go towards the Oculus though cuz that needs a hell of a lot to run yeah right I don't think it's going to be you have Xbox One games and then this new system that you buy games to run on that I think right so it'll run the same game I mean because they're they're effectively a PC now anyway so yes I don't um like the 360 was not it was it was a Motorola chips right the the CPU and everything but this is just now this is a PC so it's a PC yeah so they could effectively
run these games forever I guess like whatever Xbox comes out next should be able to play these games backwards compatible forever but they just need to be careful cuz we don't want to see a thing where they're releasing a new Xbox or a new PlayStation every two years cuz that then we're just heading the way of PC well yeah and that will kill console well because it I mean the they're kind of not consoles anyway I the PlayStation's a bit different because it's um you know it's completely separate from from PCS in general but Microsoft's got this thing where they're putting windows on everything and it's like well if they're going to put Windows on the Xbox it's not an Xbox it's a PC well it's it could still run
Windows it's fine but it just needs they need like that 8 to 10 year life cycle 8 to 10 otherwise cuz like 360 was 10 years yeah no I know that was quite long that's the longest ever wasn't it that that cycle six to 10 years is what they should be aiming for because if you have to upgrade every two years well I might as well just get a PC yeah because I don't have to go out and buy an entire unit I can upgrade a video card it's been nearly 3 years since the Xbox one came out which surprised me it's been that long I thought it was only two well my controller says uh day one 2013 oh wow it was late 2013 but yeah cuz I'm every time I see it huh that was a while ago finally got some
games well I was always thinking that um when they started talking about they're going to release one this year I thought it is going to be the one for the Oculus cuz well PlayStation have VR yeah the PlayStation VR so and I don't know I have Microsoft in bed with oculus a little bit yeah I think so they seem to just comes with an Xbox One controller yeah right yeah I'm I'm interested there was talked to I don't know what happened with this or what's going on there's people talking about upgrades as well and when they say upgrade do they mean I'll be able to upgrade the Xbox one that I have or do they mean they're going to upgrade the Xbox one so that I can buy a new one like with with better Hardware like am I going to be able to
do anything with the one that I've got I mean it'll still play some games obviously I have heard about this as well um I don't think it's upgrading this current one because the second you open that up you're voiding warranty oh yeah of course that's well I was going to say how the hell they're going to do it if if they can like I think there's a one of the new ones coming out it's going to be like everything will be in a component so you know how you can in the 360 you could take out the hard drive and put a new one in yeah so it's just plug and play I think they're looking at that all right so you'll be able to take out this component which will just clip out and then you put the new one in but then it's not a console it's a PC like I mean I get it it's it's
it's I'm not against it necessarily but it's kind of like it's splintering it a lot because cuz then it's like oh I have an Xbox one I can play Xbox One games well not anymore I've got an Xbox One with with this and this and this in it and then and then I've got to check the minimum system requirements because I've got this and that and that it's like it's a PC again yeah and that's what I said like that will kill it cuz that's not what people buy them for people buy it so I can just put the game in and it'll work that's literally why I play my Xbox these days cuz I can't be bothered with the PC anymore and I'm sure that'll change at some point change but if they're to if they're to do it this way you can upgrade as long as it's only sort of affecting graphics and they
still sort of set it up that you every single Xbox game will run on it yeah I think it can work I suppose that's fun if they have just tears of of of uh I guess you know like the if you got the really fancy one you can have it in 4k with higher res textures or something I guess that's fine but s like with PCS now like if you don't upgrade you're not you're no longer playing on high you got to drop down the resolution a bit okay but is still running that same game and if that's what they're aiming for that can work okay yeah fair point but they can't Splinter the market for Xboxes that you have to get you have to buy to play this game you need this will be the Xbox 1.5 version yeah right and that they can't do that I'm pretty excited about Oculus
Rift support anyway even though the um the HTC 5 seems like it's better I'm making air quotes better cuz I haven't really used either i' I've actually own used the Vive at um PS that's what we used for the Earth Light thing right yeah I'm really hoping for the Oculus to come out because I'm just thinking racing games yeah just in my chair steering wheel pedals and then just that headset on and I'll be in the car yeah see I'm excited about like something like Elite dangerous should I play that look I've got it I've only played I've got it too all right I've only played a little bit um so I don't know I can't make a recommendation either way cuz I bought it during a sale fairly recently and then Doom came out and uh yeah I like Doom a lot so I kind of just play that
now okay I haven't really purchased any of the new games that have come out I've been catching up on the old ones I know how'd you go with your achievements by the way while while you were on holiday I am still in the competition have you been did you get an achievement every day I got I also got an achievement every day that's pretty good oh I it's pretty good that's [ __ ] amazing so I am now let me just check this so yep I'm still in the achievement race or whatever it's called for the year and I have got an achievement every day for the last 392 days that is amazing yep all I have to do is to go and buy a new Windows phone and how was that oh was pretty good what did you play on your Windows
phone while you're away oh God uh Sally salon sorry quite a lot of that I'm sorry I asked that I played two versions of that game that was pretty much what I played constantly because what what is S Salon you play a s who's opening a salon yeah I guessed that much and you have to just help the customers go to get their hair washed and then get their hair cut and then dried and styled and yeah okay and would you recommend this game if you're trying to get a achievements why you're over in Japan for a couple of weeks yes I would you couldn't find anything more I don't know in line with your normal T well you don't really have game tastes you just play everything I play everything yeah you very famously played my pony and me yep uh and the sequel right no well I have only played
the sequel I don't think the first one was on the 360 but I had to play through it twice because I play through it on hard the first time but that didn't unlock the easy achievement so I had to go back and play it on easy easy wow that's how they get you is that and that's the only game you played oh for the most part there were this driving game I can't remember the name of and no it's pretty much Sally salon oh good but I'm trying to work out what to do later in the year what what do you mean well you as you know I might be going to America later in the year oh yeah yeah yeah yeah good um well I'm fine forgetting the achievement every day uhhuh I've got that covered but in the the achievement race that I'm in mhm I'll need to be getting like
achievements of about a th000 a week oh stream stuff yeah yeah cuz the phones phone each game has a maximum of 200 right so I'm not going to be able to finish like a game five games a week while I'm there I mean you'll be able to use you can use my Xbox a little bit when you're there um I've got a I got a problem that I have to figure out a solution to and I think it's probably fine but I got a bit worried today because as you know the power the voltage is very different here in in the US and uh oh by the way we announced the other week that I'm moving so we can talk about that I don't have to hide that no no no we I talked about the other week told told everybody at work everybody knows okay so yeah I'm moving to the US uh we're taking our consoles
with us except I've discovered um a number of them more than I thought uh don't support 110 volts at all the US P power voltage okay Outlet voltage and uh my PS3 uh will not work without a some kind of Step up Transformer uh and the Xbox On's the power brick only supports 220 to 240 which is Australia or I don't know maybe some other countries but it won't work in America so I have to hope maybe get new power bricks except I looked online and one guy said that he he couldn't get his to work even with a different power brick but then also he apparently was using some weird freaking voltage converter or something at the same time so I think he just if he did he just he might have just bricked his Xbox but yeah because if you've got the
new power brick why are you using some converter as well I'm going to be really annoyed if I get there and I just can't get these things to work look into it for you thanks appreciate it if any everyone out anyone out there knows a contact at Microsoft in the US hook us up maybe they can send us some some new power brick yeah CU yeah should they're the same unit the only the power brick would be the only thing that's different I think so yeah cuz they're not region locked or anything this this no this time should be fine but yeah no the the PS3 doesn't cuz it's got no power brick it's internal it's a slim and my PS2 is the same and a couple other things so really when was the last time you turn them on well not recently see the PS3 um I've
Got The Last of Us that I played a little bit of and I really I was really enjoying it but then I don't even think to play it cuz the PS I oh yeah I'll play my Xbox you know y maybe it's time to say goodbye do you want I do you want a PS3 I have one do you want two PS3s I I still haven't plugged the first one in yet do you want a backup you like backup consoles I like backup I'll have a backup console all right we'll figure it out we'll work so out and brought a PlayStation 3 and then I went out and got all the Uncharted games and the last of us and then I never turned it on okay Journey's good too if you want to buy another game that you won't play okay cool I have play I did play through that online that's actually the reason that I got it actually I traded uh I've we
talked about this before I traded a friend Carl hey Carl uh a Cas be for it I was bargain yeah definitely a bargain yeah well what you had you had to replace well you just turned on and it worked didn't it no it did it the dis the drive didn't work but I took it in I got it repaired y so that's the other thing is is frustrating about it I got it repaired and then now I gotta get rid of the stupid thing all right let's go on to something interesting oh I'm sorry I'm very sorry no but I want to say I forget what I said but I called out when are we going to have a female James Bond you did say on podcast yeah I'm sure you did and now the internet is calling out for it MH you're being quite specific as well yeah Jillian Anderson which I got a shock what's she up to lately Jillian
Anderson um well I mean they redid the xfiles right yeah so that she's doing that I I mean she's not she's not British though no but well mean Daniel Craig all the bonds have been British well they've all pretended to be British so I suppose well she can pretend as well she's an actor yeah tou sh tou sh I mean she's she's a bit older now so I mean that's not necessarily a problem um what is she I mean what is how's she doing lately I haven't seen her in the new xfiles or anything like that well neither are but if you click the link I think that's her and I know it sounds like I'm being a bit shallow but it's James Bond right so he's it's well he the character is supposed to be a sexy womanizer in this
case I get I guess she's going to be uh a seductress of some sort Jillian Anderson could take me down quite easily you mean she could seduce you is that what you mean no no no I meant that she she could try to seduce me but no I reckon she could beat me up she could try to seduce you you you give her permission if she was yeah Julian Anderson okay none of the pictures are loading on this site so I can't see um hang on here we go you look at the sort of mockup picture and I could see it I could probably also see her as any other character in the movie sh oh yeah there you go yeah look you know why not I don't I don't really mind either way I liked Daniel Craig but I thought the movies kind of got less and less good well he stopped caring did he yeah yeah
the last one was pretty ridiculous did he just pass up like 60 million to be in the next one oh maybe I I don't know about that um the other rumor that's going around is um is that Tom Heston is in talks and I mean I I pay that like if they're going to go with the the same old Bond like the he's you know attractive British guy then yeah he's a good choice Idris Elba also that name has popped up a couple times you know I'm I'm cool with that as well Idris elba's great and yeah julan you know what why not [ __ ] it yeah as long as it's a good movie I guess because the problem is and we we Dan and I talked about this a little bit the other week about uh with Ghostbusters and I I did put Ghostbusters in again because they
put a new trailer for Ghostbusters I still think it looks shitty I haven't seen the new trailer yet I just it just doesn't look very good to me the movie like it doesn't look very funny and it's got It's got nothing to do with who's in it or anything like that I just don't think it looks very good but because it's had such a big deal made about the fact that it's all female cast right the fact that it's not good is is going to create drama and so I feel like if they if they're going to put Jillian Anderson or any any woman in the role of James Bond right that's a great idea but make sure you do a good job please because otherwise we're goingon to have to listen to a bunch of [ __ ] winging about it and also I'd like to see a good movie I might actually even go see this
Bond movie yeah because if they put if they make a Bond movie with Daniel Craig in it and it's [ __ ] people go that wasn't a very good Bond film but if they make a Bond film with Jillian Anderson in it and it's a bit [ __ ] it's going to be different yes so yeah it's a it's a risky move but whatever now is it Jane Bond or Jamie Bond well I don't know Jane about James James Bond Bond James Bond I don't know why Jill Anderson suddenly sounds like [ __ ] Sean connory cuz she's a great actor actress yeah yeah ah interesting I should I say I called it I want it to happen now oh well I mean that means it probably
will you don't you wouldn't prefer Dwayne The Rock Johnson no no he he's not bond that reminds me actually not if we want to talk about uh Bond some more we can but speaking of Dwayne The Rock Johnson have you seen his new alarm clock app no he's got uh The Rock has a new alarm clock app uh is called The Rock alarm clock The Rock alarm clock yeah so I tried it out or the rock clock sorry is it on Android uh you know what I don't know about that I've got it I had it on my iPhone yeah it is it's on Android as well it probably works a lot better on Android now now that I mention it because on on iOS the biggest problem I have with it is that in order for the rock clock to work you have to leave your phone on and when I say on I don't mean just switched on because of course
um but I mean you have to leave the screen unlocked and the app open otherwise because it cuz it's iOS it'll close it'll shut down the app in the background oh cuz apps aren't generally allowed to keep running in the background using up your battery or whatever okay so it's I'm installing it now it's got very limited use for me I mean I I did use it one night and it was basically it was just it was an alarm clock except except it doesn't have a snooze button because the rock doesn't believe in snoozing and so I mean you know it that's on me but that kind of makes it a bit useless for me because I'm going to snooze so it basically means I'm going to turn it off and I have to set the other alarm anyway this might be good as the final alarm cuz everyone's got that
everyone's got their snooze alarms and then they've got their you have to get up now alarm it does have some really great alarm tones of like the rock yelling at you to get out of bed so that was the main appeal for me I mean maybe I'll give it another shot and uh and see how I go but I do I do enjoy snoozing a lot in the morning and I don't know that the Rock's going to be able to to talk me out of it but I know you how much you love The Rock so yes the Rock is now going to be waking me up we have dropped the ball on your segment where you're supposed to review things okay which uh I forgotten the name of in fact um [ __ ] was the name of that segment that's how long it's been since we did it look reviews that's our segment I'm going to
review the rock clock The Rock clock exactly all right I you have it installed now I will have a review for us next week all right great and I'll I'll have another go at it and we'll talk about it a bit more yeah all right so back to James Bond uh yeah I rate uh Tom Heston I rate Idris Elba uh I guess I rate Jillian Anderson as well so uh let's see how we go I think I'd be surprised if they went with jelene Anderson this time but they would probably be after the next sham Bond I reckon they will consider a female lead I reckon depending on what happens with GH bust uh will maybe affect the decision because this is another thing we mentioned the other week I do hope eventually none of this [ __ ] is going to be an issue anymore and we can stop
worrying about you know whether women are in films or you know minorities are in films like everyone can just be in films as long as the film's good who cares I don't care who's in it and hopefully that'll be the world one day but at the moment it's a business and if they think making Bond female is going to cause the same kind of drama that ghost buers has and if Ghostbusters does turn out to be shitty that's I think everyone's still confused about what Ghostbusters is is it a remake is it a reboot is it a sequel It's a reboot sort of they're pretending that the other one didn't exist from what I can gather the apparently the see they're and they're doing weird stuff like the the the stars of the other one are in it but they're in cameos which is also kind
of weird yeah like I think I don't think this is the is upset that it's females in Ghostbusters I think they're just upset that it's well this Ghostbusters some people are and I don't know if they're serious I don't like those people no I don't like those people either some people are and I don't and again there's a lot of trolls on the internet we we always mention this like a lot of the times when people are outraged by this stuff they're not really just [ __ ] withs it's like when the people complained that there was the new Star Wars film also had a a female lead with a black um actor as her sidick like no one I don't think legitimately gives a [ __ ] about that like as long as the movie's good who cares but I think the problem with with Ghostbusters is
that yeah it's Ghostbusters it's people's super favorite film and it's like they're making a political statement with it I don't know whether they're trying to pretend that they're not but they are they're using it as a to make a statement but it looks like it's [ __ ] and when any ever anybody criticizes it now they say oh it's because it's got women in it and it's like no not always it looks [ __ ] as well I know that like Dan's not a fan of the actresses in this yeah but I don't think that's not because they're women that's because he's not a fan of them no like I'm a fan of them I I quite like Christen wig I watched the movie with her in it today yeah right I still think this is going to be a terrible movie well I mean the trailer looks [ __ ] it
just doesn't look very good at all like it doesn't look funny the jokes are really cringy uh and again it's personal taste it's not my kind of film but the pro that's the problem Ghostbusters is everyone I I can still go back and watch that the original Ghostbusters I can even watch the sequel yes I agree the the the second one yeah I can see why people didn't like it I still liked it cuz I watched it when I was a kid I'm attached to it but the first one is an amazing movie it's great like and a lot of people feel that way about it yeah I'm watching the trailer now and it's yeah it's just a mixture of a new version and it's a remake of the original and it's yeah and they've gone with a and again they've gone with a very specific thing which is they're
flipping the genders of all the characters and they've made a big deal out of the fact that they're doing that the fact that the film doesn't look very good is causing this backlash and it's being made worse by the fact that yeah there's a bunch of [ __ ] out there who are making a lot of noise about about all that I will say I don't I know that the that Hollywood is and a lot of Industries do still have a lot of issues with sexism and things in the industry so I think maybe our opinions are skew by the fact that we don't experience a lot of that stuff obviously no like and no one I know does either I'm talking male or female I don't think we just don't have been exposed to that kind of stuff should I go see it Ghostbusters so we can discuss it when's it coming out
July 15th oh wow that's soon yeah well I feel like I I do feel like we should because I I mean I yeah I think we should the same way I I'm going to go see X-Men apocalypse so we can discuss it even though that looks terrible I haven't seen it it looks really terrible yeah I feel like the Ghostbusters one is is interesting because of all just because of all this kafuffle that's I really think that if they just had a female cast that's fine but they hadn't just made it a sequel or just yeah I agree I think that's where a lot of people are really upset is they don't know what this thing is yes and then they get and then people get annoyed too about the fact that people call it the female Ghostbusters and it's like well
that's that's cuz you just called it Ghostbusters how else are we supposed to refer to it the we call the new new one it's out Ghostbusters answer the call oh is it yes all right well that's I mean that helps sort of except it's long like people going to say the girl Ghostbusters like and and I don't think they don't mean that in a negative way it's just it's the Ghostbusters where the Ghostbusters are girls well we in six weeks we'll see it six weeks and I'm still picking it's going to be a terrible movie yeah I think it's going to be awful it just looks it just doesn't look very funny at all what could be funny though is the new Thor movie yeah did you we talked about this the other week I don't know I think you
might have been away when we talked about it you know who's directing it no yeah it's being directed by taer whitei the um the New Zealand director of what we do in the shadows really okay which I thought was a weird choice because I mean I've only seen that film of his and I was like well I assume this is an action kind of Blockbuster but you think it would have to with who's going to be in it now yeah not only do you have Thor you now have Hulk running around yeah so they're going to be uh having a little adventure together and it does seem though that they're starting to go away from cuz before the Thor movie was about Thor and that was it wasn't it yeah I mean Thor and and Loki a bit as well obviously yeah but there weren't any other sort of Avengers running around
yeah yeah yeah yeah sure but now it seems like this one's going to have the Hulk yeah well they kind of did that with Captain America as well like Captain America wasn't a Captain America movie Civil War yeah Civil War no no it was it was an Avengers movie sort of yeah it was missing a few but yeah yeah I tell you what man Civil War I I didn't think they'd be able to pull off a movie like that but uh they've proven me wrong though what s marketing it saying this is the best of all the Marvel movies and yeah I think they're right yeah I agree the first thought I really liked which surprised me cuz I was like how the hell are you going to move P this off the second Thor I loved I thought it was great I know that it didn't get the best reviews but I really
liked it so I'm very excited about this one I love um Hulk I like yeah I love this new Hulk I like Mark Ruffalo as Hulk I think I'm pretty Keen to see because he hasn't had a standalone film Mark Ruffalo we've only I don't think they're gonna do a standalone because the Ed Norton one wasn't too successful maybe and then the one before that yeah oh yeah the Eric Banner one see I like that one we've talked about this before I'm sure a long time ago I liked that movie it was weird like but I like it was good yeah I think that's because of that you won't be seeing a standalone Hulk movie H well I think that's a shame well this is probably the closest you're going to get and not only has it got Thor it's
apparently also now got Jeff Goldblum and KL Urban in it is it Carl Urban that singer Guy no Keith Urban car Carl Urban is uh the actor who plays McCoy in the new Star Trek movies and he was Judge Dread in in dread which is a [ __ ] excellent movie and Goldblum is the fly that's right and he's uh Dr what is his name in Jurassic Park you kidding me Malcolm yes so I mean I watch he's getting a lot of work lately isn't he yeah I'm glad I love Jeff Goblin I watch him in anything he sort of went away for a while but now he's back yeah I like how it says here Goblin will play The Eccentric grandm like yeah of course he will that's what he
does yeah yep I already know how he's going to play it yeah no The Grandmaster is a character but uh yeah I think they didn't need to put eccentric it's je Goblin yeah implied I'm pretty excited about this movie now I'm interested what's this one to come out is this have they started this one yet yeah I think they're shooting it it hits theaters uh oh November three 2017 next year no next year yeah but uh yeah pretty interesting and there's a piece of concept art here in this article uh that looks cool I love the the Asgard um style in these movies I think it's like it reminds me of especially in the dark world it reminds me of um nabo in the Star Wars prequels but better
much better here's something for you I want to see what you think of this all right now have you seen the 21 Jump Street movies no I remember the TV show when I was little have you seen Men In Black yes yes what would you think if they were going to make a new movie mhm that was 21 Jump Street right and many black together I don't know what would I think of that it's sort of a bit hard because you haven't seen 21 Jump streak but happening the new ones with um with what's his name chadam chadam dating shanting who the [ __ ] is Chan I don't know who chating
isting seriously who the [ __ ] is chanam I don't know who chanam dating is chanting damn it I forgot about this I'm just getting it I'm just Googling it now so I can post it in for you but yeah evidently this is a thing that's going to happen so what is this movie about all I know is right I I don't didn't prepare anything for it it's actually wait it's actually a crossover movie yes so it's it's literally 21 Jumpstreet and men black together in a movie yes what yes yes all right that's weirder than I thought it was going I thought you meant it's going to be a movie that's like those two movies combined no sorry no I meant those two movies combined to make the crossover right all
right that's so weird but okay I guess that's such a strange crossover idea are the 21 Jump Street movies good I've heard they're okay oh they are I watch them they're a nice easy movie okay yeah and even make they make fun of themselves in the second one going this is the same thing just over again yeah right like they're very good at that all right I'll watch it well I don't know what I would think I know that I liked um I liked Men In Black I even liked men black 2 which I believe is um not highly regarded but it made me laugh a lot um when he had the little village or or civilization of people in his locker at the train station yeah I like it wasn't
as strong as the first one but it was still the movie I don't I haven't seen three there was a three yes there was a three okay I have not seen it either okay it's all to do with like time travel and stuff and sounds great yeah evidently they have to go back and Will Smith has to run around with the young version of Tommy Lee and oh I remember that okay no I haven't seen it but I remember that that was a thing um you know what I have been watching mm uh have you seen have you watched ey zombie I tried to bring this show up a couple of years ago and I was shot down what do you mean we shot you down yep you so you watched this yeah I've watched it from the start all right what did we shoot you down what did we say I can't remember but I tried to bring it up
and I forget what happened well I apologize because because you've started watching it it's great isn't it yeah it's on stand uh and I saw it and I was like oh I uh I was interested in that maybe it's because you said something about it but yeah it's by the people who produced uh Veronica Mars which is one of my favorite shows it's a great show yeah and it's about Liv who is a ironic name who is a nurse goes to a boat party there's zombies she gets scratched or bitten by a zombie wakes up and she's a zombie as happens all the time yeah and zombies are a bit different in this uh they can function as normal as long as they get brains I think they as yet they haven't expanded on that so don't spoil anything about halfway through season two ah then you should halfway through
season one you know that's the case yeah I know they haven't expanded on it too much though oh no they don't they don't expand on that's that whole explanation is there okay good they need brains otherwise they start to go that's fine I think yeah I think if they expand it too much it's going to get silly because it's it's it's already like it's silly the premise anyway so just ignore it yes but I love the fact that okay so she instead of working uh as a doctor as she was she takes a job in the morg at the police station so she can eat the brains of the people which is a great idea and then she discovers she has visions of of memories of the people whose brains she eats and she uses that to solve the crimes but because the detective she works with wants to know why she's
having visions he thinks she's psychic it's [ __ ] great so it's a zombie that helps to serve solve murders yeah and her partner thinks she's psychic because he doesn't know she's really a zombie it's good it's a really good show obviously there's a bad guy in it who's um like even his his motivations are good too it's quite clever the way the whole thing works like he um it's not super spoiler because it happens in the first couple episodes but he provides brains to he he turns a bunch of really rich um influential people into zombies and then sells them brains at a highly infl ated price uh and that's how he starts his business because if they don't get the
brains they'll have to kill people themselves and they don't they don't want that so it's quite which is a pretty good business to get into it's pretty clever it's pretty good it's a good show and uh yeah it's funny though like so obviously yeah zombies work differently in this they get you go pale and your hair goes blonde but you function as normal like a normal human uh you don't have brains in which case you become feral and there's one thing about the show that I think is interesting they call themselves zombies right and everyone calls them zombies but they're they're not like the way they become what they are is not traditional and they don't function in the the way traditional zombies do and so the fact that that they always talk about it like it's such a negative thing
like they're monsters and that kind of thing but generally speaking they're not like they they can function as normal they just have to they have to eat brains which is weird but they're not like real zombies and so the fact that they're so negative about it sometimes is is like a little strange you know um I don't know if I woke up to find that I craved human human brain and that's all I could eat to live yeah I know I know I know it's kind of like vampires I guess but I guess it's just not as they're not as horrific generally speaking in this as they are normally and so sometimes when she's lamenting her life I mean her life's not that bad H I don't know I think it could be pretty bad what you get to eat brains s
murders can't be close with anyone otherwise you'll turn them into a zombie oh yeah I suppose there there were a couple of downsides I guess the fact that if you skip a couple of meals you'll just start killing anyone yeah yeah the fact that you when you eat someone eat s bra you take on all their memories yeah yeah see but a lot of that stuff is not traditionally stuff like it's great CU it's good part of the show I don't know it's just the fact that they call themselves zombies I'm like we not really zombies traditionally speaking you something else but yeah anyway it's it's a great show I'm really enjoying it so is it still going um I think season 2's finished now but there will be a season 3 okay good yeah cuz I know Season Two is on there and I was
like wait a minute when did this air because I hope there's more cuz I'm like I'm halfway through and I'm I'm pretty sure I'm going to want to watch more at the end so yeah yeah there is another season mhm cool but that hasn't been made it that won't be out till next year okay did you see these Urban explorers who discovered the Millennium Falcon I did and how do you just stumble across the Millennium Falcon I don't know it doesn't even I don't think they say where this is either I know it's in England somewhere uh and I don't think they revealed the location because I guess they wanted to keep it secret but basically these guys who are Urban explorers were I mean this looks like they're in the the woods somewhere so it's not really Urban exploring but they
came across the Millennium Falcon and it it clearly it's been put there to shoot the film because it's the it's the new style Millennium Falcon with the red bits so it's for presumably it's for episode 8 uh and there was no one there it was just it's this set that either has been abandoned there or just that particular day no one happened to be there or or they haven't either they've finished with it or they haven't used it yet or whatever but anyway there's all these photos they're just climbing around in the Millennium Falcon how amazing would that be it would be so weird to be wandering through the the woods and then come across the Millennium Falcon just
parked there like and like have a look at the photos listeners it's it's to scale like it's the it's the real size of what it would be and you can climb in it like the ramps open and walk in they've taken photos of the inside on the outside actually I think it's inside's not as exciting no the inside's is you know what what you would expect it's not built it's like the inside of a set but the outside looks fantastic and the cockpits kind of built yeah because you can sort of see that through the window so they've got sort of the background yeah set up for it I don't know if they're still maybe even just working on it but they wouldn't be filming the inside here they' be filming that on a sound yeah assume this has just been built there to be in the
background or something yeah but like what the hell is it just doing sitting there like they you think that they' be guards or something around I know it's so weird like I don't know if there's more to this and they just didn't want to say like how the hell they managed to get here or if some security guard's about to get fired CU they'd have to be trespassing yeah I don't know I don't know they didn't say but again maybe for good reason yeah you tell people you've been trespassing but yeah imagine walking through the through the woods somewhere and you come across the Millennium Falcon that' be great um yeah if that happened I would be um using social media a hell of a lot that day I would be calling a tow truck and making space for it in my backyard if I had a
backyard which I don't I can convert this into my house actually that'd be an amazing house I wonder if you could build a house in the shape of the Millennium Falcon like legally I don't see why not well it's because you don't work for local Council but I mean May they're probably very good reasons for it but but I'd be interested in finding out would that be your ship of choice if you were going to build a ship to live in well yeah because you want some room to move sure so it wouldn't be like a TIE fighter or next wi it would be a TIE fighter next wi and Star Destroyer far too big ah see I was going to say a star destroyer that would be amazing yeah but they're like what 3 km long when I was young I met uh I a friend
from school we used to catch the train in from penth to the city to go to Galaxy Bookshop oh I love that place yeah uh for those who don't know it's like a sci-fi fantasy Bookshop well it was now it's just a general Bookshop because I guess Amazon and whatnot killed the uh the the specifics of it they just had to become a general bookstore but we used to catch training and he had a friend uh who joined us one day and he was I imagine dead serious at the time even though we were children he said that when he was old enough and he had a full-time job he was going to save up all his money to build himself a full-size replica of the
Enterprise and do what with it uh I don't know if he got that far he was just going to have it okay was it going to be a functioning uh I'm assuming he wasn't that naive I think he just wanted to build it to to kind of I guess live in or have yep but like full size and I don't know if he real he may have because he we were quite nerdy kids and I assume he thought about put some thought into this I don't know if he realized how big the Enterprise is supposed to be it's very big I feel like the the Millennium Falcon is more realistic sizewise I think the Enterprise is pretty smaller than a stardust tryer but you think that would that be too big for you still um it wouldn't be too big but there's 's no way I'm going to live in that thing yeah
right where would you put your bedroom on the Millennium falc what would you use the cockpit for I guess is the is the question just to flip people off as they walk past yeah cool so it wouldn't be that wouldn't be your bedroom obviously too many windows no no so pu your bedroom at the back yeah yeah I'd have like it just be like rooms inside I don't care about Windows so that's fine yeah well who wants to see outside anyway yeah I'm living in the Milan Falcon yeah exactly yeah maybe you could do what that guy in in England did and just build a wall of hay bales around it and then build it and then live in it for what was it 4 years long enough that they couldn't tell you to cut pull it down and then uh yeah and then take the hay bals
down although he did lose the court case and had to pull his sorry the guy built a castle his castle he wanted to build a castle and the council said no and he looked in the laws and the laws said if he builds it and they don't say something for 4 years he can keep it so he built a wall around it but I think they caught him just before it was up no no they said no you're taking the piss yeah they said don't care about the law pull it down all right the Angry Birds movies making money The Angry Birds movies making money oh hell yeah that's doing great at the box office really yeah what is it about Angry Birds what are they angry at pigs pigs is have you not played the game no I played the game is is it actually the plot of the game I of the movie I think so the [ __ ] is it
live action or is it animated no it's animated oh so it's a kids movie I don't know a lot about this movie yeah right CGI animated oh and the pigs are in it too all right flightless birds lead a mostly happy existence except for red Jason sedus who just can't get past the daily noes sounds boring well we're not the target audience like at all they don't care if they get our money we touche Peter Dage in it as mighty eagle isn't the eagle the thing you get that helps you cheat in the game I I've only really played Star Wars Angry Birds was that good I can't play Angry Birds anymore I played the first one and the rest of them are just saying oh Danny McBride's in it God yeah I think this just moved Captain America off top spot at the box office not Fu
just this week not in gross or anything right um at the moment it has made worldwide 164 million H so that's doing well it's been out for a week it's got Danny McBride it's got um what's the dumb one's name from Arrested Development why can't I remember the character's name dumb one Buster yeah Buster God I can't back could remember Buster's name I don't think I want to watch this movie no maybe can can you do another Luke reviews next week of the Angry Birds mie oh I guess I can all right I'll play the jingle again just in case just cuz I like it okay so I'm going to do the rock clock and Angry Birds badad such a jingle I've got to watch three two movies this week and play and
use a clock look if that's too much I I'll see what I can do I'll see what I can do I'm not promising anything yeah I will wait two movies what's the other movie um I want to see X-Men oh right yeah I don't want to see it I just think I should see feel obliged to see it so we can discuss it yeah apparently it's awful and I've not heard a single good thing about it except actually that's not true the Quicksilver scene is apparently good actually Dan already talked about it a little bit evidently the Quicksilver scene I was reading today it goes for three minutes in the movie and it took three months to film wow he was on set more than anyone else in that movie he must just be a really bad actor that's all for this week thank you for listening and we hope you
