us yeah yeah which is kind of what he did for about 50% of the time he was hanging out with us I wondered if he was going to just going to surprise us today as well and show up on the podcast after saying that he wasn't going to be here but no yeah not this time it could have happened MH but we were all together physically together last week which was nice yeah it was nice but although we were together for a couple of days it took us until the very very last few minutes on the last day for us to actually get our [ __ ] together and record even a 10minute podcast yeah but I I mean before we were podcast as we were friends so we were you know we were doing that thing where we hang out that we we actually don't even do anymore before we we hung up our friend hat yeah

we don't even do that anymore cuz we're too busy doing this well I said to Luke the other day we were sitting there and I was like I was like oh something I want to tell you but I'll wait till the podcast like no [ __ ] that yeah I know surprised when I bring it up yeah it's like even the other day I I wasn't going to mention the Blade Runner trailer at first cuz I I was going to message you go oh watch the blade R and I was like oh no wait I'll save it with the podcast is that what this is now that what our relationship is now we're a podcast we withhold information from each other so that we can tell tell it to each other in front of the world but it's not even like a funny article that you're like I won't share this until Monday it's like this is the Blade Runner trailer a we're

all very [ __ ] excited about it and B we're all going to see it and watch it yeah on our own anyway without an encouragement from each other so it's it's tell me what you think of it until we're recording it I liked it Matt I liked it a lot yeah me too it looks cool nothing I don't like about it I can't [ __ ] wait no it's uh it looks beautiful It looks interesting yeah and uh yeah I don't know what I don't know what more you could want no and I I find it funny that it's like people just want to criticize [ __ ] right because they do Dan they do trailer is cing a lot of flack for uh one particular thing that I've seen recur a lot I don't know if you've seen this Matt but there's a lot of criticism

about the collar on Ryan Gosling's jacket being too high all right covers his chin well it is the future yeah some might say it's for practical purposes but honestly I think that's a testament to just how good this trailer is even the haters on the internet have gone [ __ ] there's nothing about the plot it's nothing about the cinematography that I can criticize the acting looks amazing I guess that color is a bit too big I'm right hate mail about that yeah come on people it's got to be something it's got to be something Harrison Ford's a bit old yeah # not a replicant yeah spoilers maybe yeah unless he was a different one A different kind of one yeah the ages yeah I'm wondering if well you know we'll watch the film

unless no anyway I'm not going to speculate just going to watch the damn film yeah either he might still be but he might not be we'll see yeah I'm I'm sure it'll be revealed because he might have been or he might not have been so yes yeah it does ruin the ambiguity of the first film a little bit either way but unless in by the end of this one having a sequel ruins ambiguity though doesn't it unless at the very end of this Ryan Gosling turns to him and goes so are you a replicant and then Harrison Ford just turns and looks at the camera and credits yeah it just slowly zooms into his face real slow into his eyeball and you just see a little unicorn and it end yeah a little little little paper unicorn mhm yeah the

end the end man we should ride for Hollywood I think we do a little bit we do we do a little bit Yeah they they they hear what we say and we've yet to receive any paychecks for it though no we have not received anything no no we have not I'll be I'll be honest man I've I've never been paid to make a film in my life and uh I've made several I've been in several and you haven't paid me anything yeah speaking of which I think our film screening went rather well last Saturday night yeah it's fun in New York City good times I stole I didn't steal I took a they freely available it was not theft a uh a flyer for the festival that I thought I could keep as a momento uh left it in my pocket and then put it through the wash oh okay so that that

fly has now ruined your clothes yeah it's now part of a jacket that I own yeah yeah it'll always be part of you yeah so uh yeah that's a shame but you know I always have the memories until I go see Nile so you know it's good but yeah it was it was fun who's Nile and when are you going to go and see him that's comedy that's that's a real com that's what we're known for yeah and we thought we'd lost it yeah Luke's the only funny one he is a funny one he is a funny one he is indeed um I saw this this article made me laugh the other day uh in the UK they aired a tribute to one of my favorite actors John Hurt during the Saturday morning cartoons uh that included the chess burster scene from Aliens and I love

that and parents were like [ __ ] off I mean aside from that let's let's leave that for a sec let's leave the fact that children shouldn't be watching a [ __ ] alien bursting through somebody's stomach yeah right why would children give a [ __ ] about John herd well he I mean well why would you play it at 9:30 in the morning during the cartoons my first thought was that yeah but he was in the Storyteller when I was a child yeah that's right the youngest person to have ever seen the Storyteller is now 35 years old yeah well it's on DVD and you should damn well watch it it's brilliant but yeah the Storyteller is great but yeah the uh the uh British broadcaster ITV has copped a lot of complaints about it and they've apparently disciplined whoever the the pro programmer was for that particular

morning disciplined when you say it like that it sounds sexual does yeah apparently there no that sounds worse apparently there was a lengthly investigation which is fun lengthy who hey did you uh did it did you do that clip who worked who worked on the weekend yeah CU not only that somebody somebody AED it but somebody edited it together so yeah just after Scooby-Doo well I've I've worked in promo Departments of of TV stations so somebody somebody would have edited it somebody would have approved that edit somebody would have uh scheduled it and um somebody would have overseen and approved the schedule so it's it's difficult to to blame one

person yeah yeah cuz they probably didn't talk about it they were probably all all separate little things and by the time they got to the end I was like ah John H tribute yeah cool good slap it on just just slap it on John H being dead is is painful all over again now than us having this discussion do you know I actually sometimes practice my John Hurt impression in the car and uh you do I do go on I know you're not in a car but I want to hear your John H impression it's very early in the morning it's got to be story tell yeah yeah and so he took his last dry biscuit and handed it to the man that's great what was the name of

his dog oh [ __ ] uh this did he have a name oh you know what his name was dog yeah makes sense yeah oh man the [ __ ] the imagination of Jim Henson I know the the uh the soldier who caught death is one of my favorite things from my childhood list if you haven't seen the soldier who caught death look it up it's I don't know if it's on YouTube I've like I said I've got it all on DVD look it up it's amazing it's a an ad adaptation of a Slavic uh Legend and it's amazing it's got little creatures and

it's got John Hur and it's got do it does have dog yeah and he eats a biscuit yeah and he puts death in a sack yeah amazing yeah it is do they make [ __ ] like that anymore I mean I feel they don't but then again I think maybe maybe kids would watch the shows we loved and think it's all slow and boring and the uh characters look like puppets cuz they are yeah yeah yeah but we didn't mind that we quite liked it no we've talked about [ __ ] that gelfling doesn't look real I'm sure we've talked about this before but um Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back is what Yoda looks like and when I see the CG Yoda it's it looks fake it's like oh they tried to

make it look like Yoda but it doesn't Yoda looks like a puppet he must have been available to Star cuz the way he moves and the way he he looks at you know just his appearance his mannerisms right it's a puppet but that is what Yoda is to like my mind cuz when I was a kid that's that is how he moves and how he looks and that's how he exists yeah when you do him in CG and he moves like like I guess like a real Yoda wood it's incorrect well you're not the only one who thought that Matt because after they did the first CG version of in The Phantom Menace uh there was so much complaining that they did it and made him look more like a puppet yeah well that's yeah cuz like I know I get it it's not like how they would do it now

they would make him look super realistic but they didn't and so that's not what he looks like yeah he doesn't move around too much because he can't cuz he's old and also CU his 900 years old yeah yeah yeah and uh and when he does move you only see the top half of him and he just kind of B around yeah walks yep that's right well speaking of Star Wars as usual MH um did you see this article about the school that got evacuated child war a uh originally they reported that it was a Darth Vader costume but apparently it was actually a stormtrooper costume yeah it's a storm troper costume I'm looking at it right now it's it's not even like an armored storm of trivia costume it looks like a

pair of pajamas uh M with a with a hood y yeah but uh some parent thought it was a flack jacket or something and called the police cuz they I think they were concerned also just the vase was covered you know right and that just makes people nervous I mean not everywhere else in the world but in America where for some reason shooting everyone at your school is a thing yeah unfortunately it's like it's like America's thing that you just can't call him on we could I mean come on guys we can find something else to be known for can't yeah I mean myself get shot up yeah that's right I mean it's your right as American to shoot up a school now apparently it is yeah yeah yeah but yes he uh he he wore a stormtropper costume

uh they got worried that I guess it was a uh you know a little person with a gun I guess in there yep and uh called the police and they evacuated the school uh everyone was like running around and freaking out and uh yeah they were freaking out in fact this article even references uh someone who wasn't even at school that day who said that he was freaking out so I mean you know I don't know how that works but uh yeah they were scared they were they were real scared yeah and and for for even more context it was May the 4th like yeah Star Wars Day what's become Star Wars Day now I know that geek of the week has become uh synonymous with people dying of AIDS yeah but if I could just steer geek of the week back to its original

intent yeah which is singling out Geeks who have done a particular achievement yeah during the week I really think that this this kid deserves to be geek of the week I mean IM remember back to high school yeah I mean you went to a kind of a special high school if you had gone to my high school right and you turned up in a [ __ ] nerdy pajama costume one day you'd have gotten [ __ ] stabbed at best right and all you could hope for was a quick death you know what I mean like this kid has been he loves Star Wars so much he can't not dress as a stormtrooper and go to high school on May the 4th you know what I mean I do feel like it's more acceptable to do that kind of thing these days that it I mean it's 2017 and this isn't the worst

suburbs of Sydney no Star Wars is fairly mainstream at this point well I mean it was and then it wasn't and then now it is again yeah that's right yeah but yes I'm going to play the jingle for him because you're right this is the kind of thing we want to celebrate [Music] here so this is in Wisconsin Right Chee and okay that's what I know about Wisconsin from when I was there it's the cheese America good cheese or just lots of cheese we went to a mac and cheese place there and it was the best thing I've eaten I don't even a whole place for mac and cheese yeah it's like a restaurant like a or I guess it's a

chain well I don't know if there's more than one but it was kind of like a you know like grilled in Sydney the burger place yeah oh yes like imagine that but they sell kinds of mac and cheese and we got this jalapeno mac and cheese and it was the best that's the most American thing I've ever heard actually most American thing I've ever done the uh the name of this town in Wisconsin Ash wanon is the least American thing I've ever heard yeah fair enough yeah where uh where is where is this oh this is the town from the little kid yeah didn't even click with that that's what you were talking about who just like in Wisconsin news yeah just super into Wisconsin this week mate I'm just looking at a map yeah that's uh midn

North Mid midn North yeah sure well you know American phrasing of where places are is a little bit [ __ ] up it is right confused me I I know it now the place they call the Midwest is in the Northeast yeah confused the hell out of me yeah yeah but now I get it you get it you just got to you just got to accept it not ask questions that's the American way uh I want to talk about Guardians too but Luke's not here which is disappointing he was the first one of us to see it and uh and he didn't get to talk about it no and not only that he saw it again with me yeah right of course and so it was a shared experience that I I feel I feel really shitty discussing it without him all right should we should we just give a little overview of whether or not we uh we enoy

it yeah all right we'll save any details till next week yep sounds good sounds good cuz yeah we'll let him participate and then so there'll be no spoilers this week but they'll probably be spoilers next week because Luke's here and he just can't help [ __ ] blurting [ __ ] out although yeah plus but next week it'll be his two we minimum that you've got to watch the movie before he purposely spoils it for you to teach you a lesson that you have to see something in the first two weeks although I will say James Gan said in an interview you can't it's not a spoiler type movie cuz they kind of told you most of the plot anyway anyway beforehand and it's not about like there's no huge twists and things it's not like ight shamalan film The it's just a hopefully it's just an

entertaining movie regardless and I think that that's the case I think it wouldn't really matter yeah I would agree with that too yeah if I I mean you know there's a couple of surprises in there I mean they weren't really surprises if you kind of know the universe yeah yeah right oh if you if you happen to scan any freaking article about it where they were like who's Kurt Russell's character who's bloody you know who's mans they ruing it for you but yeah exactly right so um I enjoyed this um perhaps not as much as the first one uh because the first one Not only was a great film but it just surprised me I wasn't prepared for how great it was uh absolutely and how moving it was mhm although this had some rather moving

moments too and some some funny stuff yeah Mary [ __ ] Popp yeah good good blend of uh of everything yeah I would agree so I saw this movie in 4D okay yeah uh did you know that 4D movies were a thing I so there that is you saw it in 3D with something else yeah it wasn't uh yes correct it's it's an additional d uh so in in addition to the three D's that uh that you often get uh although the third D is is usually the one that I yeah see I avoid it at all costs I saw it in 2D

yeah yeah 2DS are usually enough yeah um I'll say this though if you're going to get that third d uh you might as well get the fourth one as well they throw it in for free they do yeah it's like a free a 3D they should call it 3D right um so I thought 4D might be some kind of uh cuz you know the fourth dimension's like back in time right yeah I thought that's what they often say like length breadth depth and back in time that film already has time so yeah and I thought uh that perhaps the fourth dimension was that you go in already knowing the story and you really it more like a dream you know that you're remembering yeah uh that's not the case what 4D means is that they basically turn a film into a

ride so if you've been on the Transformers ride at Universal huh or the Kong ride or any of those kind of immersive films yeah yeah uh it's like that so to to knock off a couple of things that happen your chair moves around sometimes it moves around uh because something happens on screen and sometimes it just moves around because like when the camera pulls back your chair leans back so it's like you're kind of on the dolly as it were right uh you know I got I got tapped on the shoulder when a character got tapped on the shoulder so that was that was immersive and then you turned around and missed what what was happening yeah that's right there's atmospheric effects you get water splattered against you when somebody gets shot or blood sprays

out uh it's also smello Vision which uh I'm not sure is uh completely necessary right I don't need to know what everybody smells like no right not usually no because to me I mean there's a couple of things that smell good coffee smells good mhm mhm right uh a steak cooking smells good mhm and then everything else either smells bad or just neutral right like I don't I don't go through life just going oh all these [ __ ] smells right so just leave it out also it's going to be novelty stuff for sure I bet I I don't know what exactly what it was that you had to smell but it was probably something novelty like I think yeah at the end of it somebody probably said what about the

smells and they were like there was nothing really and they were like put in the smells okay in case you're worried listeners I I saw it without the smells and I still enjoyed it so I think yeah but did you get the full experience I don't know M I don't know now I don't know you know I always wondered what sha gun smells like yeah I wonder what he smells like too smells like [ __ ] [Laughter] success So speaking of of sha gun you you dropped by the troma studios oh yeah I did last week yeah uh and then I see on social media that you've been retweeted by Lloyd calman from troma yeah uh who apparently has had a quick listen to uh to your music and and given you a thumbs up so what the [ __ ] Matt I

went to a burlesque show in uh in New York City last we I'm just going to keep dropping that in that we were in New York City last week been there I've been there a few times just yeah you have yeah yeah yeah smells like piss and garbage for those you who haven't been it does the shine wore off it pretty quickly I'll be honest there's some great stuff that happens there uh it's you know it's a it's definitely a hub for culture and the Arts but I'll say this it's an absolute [ __ ] hole of a of a [ __ ] City it is the most overrated place I've ever been at at the right time it like we we drove down we left here about 7:00 a.m. on that Saturday when we came down up with you guys it took takes about 3 hours to get there from here oh yeah which is pretty good so like if there's

something on there I can go down there I can check it out and then I don't have to you know I could drive back in one day if I wanted to if I really wanted to it's like driving a camera basically yeah yeah it's the distance that we used to live from Luke yeah exactly yeah and that's how far he is from me right now so nothing's changed yeah that's true for all you know I mean he could be anywhere that's yeah yeah he went to Jersey yesterday yeah ex I know I will let him tell that story yeah something tells me he won't probably not he forget about it the only difference is in uh cber he lives in a house and in New York he's sleeping in a gutter so yeah yeah that might not be an

exaggeration did you watch this video of the the artist Bruce Hampton who I was not familiar with no I wasn't familiar with Bruth Hampton either but I did watch I did watch video did you watch him die on stage yeah I mean and listeners when Matt says he died on stage we don't mean he had a shitty performance this guy died he literally died and uh on stage at his own tribute concer yeah and for his 70th birthday and it's especially I think ironic because he uh kind of following oh hang on he playing now in my headphones stop that Bruce all right he

uh he following on from the greats like uh James Brown and and others uh had kind of a performance he used to do where he would pretend that the uh you know he was weak and uh collapse on stage but then the music would kind of in reinvigorate him apparently that was a thing he used to do was like he would pretend that and then like a guitar solo would awaken him from his man sleep stage don't ever make that your thing right so unfortunately and and the video is here on uh it's on the the website we'll link to it uh it's quite a long video um but if you skip towards the end he uh he has a massive heart attack and collapses and everyone just keeps playing this little kid doing a guitar solo over him yeah and and like no he's not getting up and the other musicians are like like

looking looking over towards him and smiling and kind of nodding along like he's doing it he's doing it he's doing that thing where dead and terrible brutal just don't ever make playing dead your thing I reckon because you don't the last thing you want is an ironic death right yeah you just cuz Brandon Lee had the same thing too apparently every other take of the shooting scene uh he [ __ ] played dead until they rushed over and he was like gotcha right until someone actually shot him yeah and then when he just lay there they all went to lunch right so oh man just don't ever do that don't don't tempt fate like that what are you doing yeah that might be how he wanted to go you never know it's not a bad way

to go just on stage what he loved at your own tribute show and then that's it off he's gone do you remember that article that you posted recently you sent to us with the uh died doing what she loved was that you or was that somebody else on the multiple nerdgasm channel that posted this let me see if I can find it which one was that on uh okay the channel just of us oh you know what it was uh it was Hannah right oh she sent through it's an article in the canra times and the um the headline is um teen died doing what she loved taken by shark as family

watched she just loved being eaten by sharks [ __ ] while her family watched I guess it's so weird yeah it's weird wording oh I saw one that was great the other day it was um it was just a really humorous way to throw to your local reporter it said something like um uh man caught with 200 lb of methamphetamine um here's Maria with more that's good yeah I uh I've read we were at a restaurant yesterday and uh I read there's a just a little thing on the menu that made me laugh just cuz depending on how you read it like I read it incorrectly obviously at first but I read this is as I read it our pasta is made by hand as it has been in Italy since the 1700s

oh man like that is beyond the due date yeah because I used to make it by hand not anymore but we got the old stuff I don't know why my brain was like not able to comprehend at first that that's not what they were saying amazing yes speaking of food Amazon actually recommended this book to me the other day I'm not joking oh yeah this uh this this new romance novel that's been released in time for Mother's Day oh sure so when you put this in here I was like H yeah all right it actually came up uh I ordered uh an an additional Dungeons and Dragons supplement the other day a book and then I guess it it figured I was into books so it recommended and if you like one book you like them all yeah especially I'm pretty sure I would like this one so yeah I think so I

mean you know we we've discussed Cindy's new love quite a bit recently on the podcast an erotic novel mhm MH uh this one is called tender wings of Desire uh and this this is a romance novel credited to one Colonel Sanders uh produced by KFC yeah and uh released for their biggest day of the year which is Mother's Day now I don't know about you man K but if I was going to take my mom out for Mother's Day I like to think I'd put in a little bit more effort than [ __ ] KFC KFC is disgusting to me like when I was a child I I I for some reason always wanted it but then at some point like I think even my years I was like what am I

Melbourne Australia called Burger project I'm pretty sure I've been to it yeah yeah you may have uh it's uh one of the rockpool uh restaurants owned by Neil Perry right right okay celebrity chef um and the uh the attendant at the counter uh printed out a receipt that says order number 16 [ __ ] when he was serving black dude I just and his wife do you not understand how well unless he thought I'll be right they'll think it's funny [ __ ] what why what no why would they think it's funny yeah right there's I

mean I mean I think this is funny I think it's funny that this idiot thought it was funny yeah exactly yeah to be clear that's what we're laughing at here no exactly right uh I think I I mean man wow and and and out of all things like of of all things I mean you you could have written order number 16 brother yeah right or something and it would still have been racist and still have been inappropriate and you should still be fired probably but why go here why go straight to the nword yeah it's extreme unless it I mean cuz not only this this is given to them this is a receipt that they receive like what is wrong with you so

weird uh the restaurant has has apologized profusely and actually Neil Perry himself Perry called him gave him a call and was like [ __ ] I'm so sorry unbelievable this guy's name is on the receipt like your name gets printed out when you're their waiter or whatever yeah PT what were you thinking never go full racist yeah my good half ass it like Dan does yeah that's right trying to think of what I'd do in this situation I don't know if I want if I wanted them to know that I'd noce they were black you know uh that actually we can stay away from that into a film that put in here that I haven't watched yet I really want

to watch this but I haven't yet okay no spoilers then okay uh but I watched get out today which is it was sold to me as a horror movie it's it's not a horror movie it's a parody horror movie sure that uses the horror genre um as a metaphor for racism um but it's a good movie yeah you should watch Peele Jordan Peele directed it I wrote it I think yeah wrote and directed I like K peel and individually I liked them so therefore like this well I've never seen them do anything individually until this okay uh but now I know that at least one of them has done something individually that I did like which is this yeah yeah I've it is on my list to watch apparently also I I read an article today uh an interview

with the director and he said he wrote this movie but as he finished it this was a few years ago Obama had been voted into the White House and he was like oh this is no longer relevant because racism is now a thing of the past um came along yeah now that now that American cops have said that it's okay to shoot black people yeah um he was like actually I might I might produce this I might make that movie I wrote yeah it's probably relevant now you people just don't get it yeah [ __ ] hell yeah so if you ever wanted to watch a movie uh a horror movie where the monster is white people then uh you should watch get out y I'm gonna yeah you should it's good in other film

related news apparently David Lynch has retired from film because uh the gist of it is that he thinks that uh the industry is [ __ ] now and uh the films that get made he's not interested in making and they don't make the films that he would want to make anymore they wouldn't give him any money which is I can see that yeah I can see that too but I also heard him say this about 10 years ago yeah right and then he made a movie called Inland Empire in his own house shot on a handy cam yeah and it was [ __ ] awful and it was kind of like well yeah there's a there's a reason they're not making your movies make another [ __ ] Lost Highway yeah or M Holland Drive they'll [ __ ] throw money at you well he's he's obviously still okay to do TV cuz he's got Twin

Peaks coming out which they shot apparently they shot as like a big film and then it got split up into episodes later so I'm I'm hoping that doesn't turn out to be a [ __ ] hot mess how long was that film going to be 18 hours [ __ ] off that's that is a series come on he's described it as an 18 Hour film and then they split it up apparently yeah they didn't they wrote it all without splitting it into episodes and then they split it up later which I mean that just sounds like a shitty idea to me at what point did they decide to do that because at so are you telling me that was legitimately a time when this was in production and they were like okay yeah this happens at hour 11 in the film The audiences will be really on the edge of their seats by

this point still awake we bet yeah yeah now I bet they I'm sure he's just being him and talking you know I'm I'm not convinced that he's not just talking out of his ass a lot of the time I like him I like his I like most his too but I'm not convinced he does he's an artist in air quotes you know yeah yeah I like him but he's full of [ __ ] how involved is he in Twin Peaks I believe in in this one yeah no [ __ ] no no no I mean I wasn't sure cuz you know well cuz he was half in half in charge of the TV series and then until later on and then he was fully in charge of uh firew walk with me the film yeah and then now I think he's half in charge of this again okay okay I think so his name's above the title but other people

in in a sense yeah cuz I liked what they did but in in another sense I'm I'm still excited cuz it's it's you know mol is involved uh the David Harbor from stranger things is MH playing Hellboy it's going to be R-rated which G Del Toros were not I don't think that's right they were very very comic Booky yeah um I mean Ron pman is a [ __ ] old man now so it's not like he can play it forever have you seen did you see Jeffrey tambor's tweet in criticism of this oh I did not yeah because Jeffrey Tambour um is in the other films right plays Manning and he tweeted this because uh Mike Manola uh posted there is going to be another Hellboy movie and Jeffrey Tambour tweeted Mike I think I'm unavailable Knights on the

loyalty to Ron and gilmo what so uh yeah well I mean I assume he's wasn't being asked back anyway because it's different but yeah yeah that's a shame shame to be silly about it yeah it's a shame is disappointed but I'll be watching this Matt I'll be I'll be watching this movie it's going to be directed by um uh what's his name um Jesus Jesus noow sorry actually I was just looking at the name on the page and then I got distracted and then it just blanked on it it's directed by Neil Marshall who directed The Descent uh which is a film that I love oh yeah The Descent is great Neil Marshall actually works on Game of Thrones now I think I'm familiar with the Descent and I love it

so it says descent not The Descent so now I'm like is it the same guy yeah it is it is and he also made a [ __ ] great movie called dog soldiers oh yes that movie rules yeah which is a really really underrated film yeah that's tops that movie feel like that sort of thing I do yeah there you go listeners check those out some good movies so yeah new Hellboy yeah I'm excited whatever it I know I like the others but then you know Hollywood is fickle and uh yeah and I'm sure they wanted a gritty reboot yeah do you think they'll ever do a gritty reboot of this podcast that would be great like they'll cast younger people as us and it'll be all dark and who would play us some people were not we never heard of I bet yeah that's right yeah Disney chan Stars yeah maybe the ex Luke Luke would

even funnier if she's in it yeah yeah I believe so she shows up that's great yeah oh man no it's F I've always liked Diane Lane I think Dian Lane's kind of like your thinking man's bit of Crumpet like she's you don't really see her in many movies these days but she's a beautiful lady and a great actress but she played the girlfriend of James reev who was the actor who played Superman right in a movie called Hollywood land who was played by Ben Affleck who now plays Batman in the movie where she plays Superman's mother that's crazy small so yeah I I don't know what what that means you knew they were all related don't know what the universe is

telling me well they got the same name mat right so oh yeah you know you say Martha and that just [ __ ] changes everything Kent what did you call me I said you're a Kent did you uh did you play thimble we park yet yes yes I did I'm not very far in it but it uh it's it's pretty good right it's great yeah yeah yeah it's great and um I I know we've got a lot of listeners out there who love the old uh um Lucas Lucas Arts yeah adventure games from the 90s uh in fact there's a listener who wrote in recently and was saying that he's now playing through all of the monkey islands with his son who's now enjoying them so that's awesome um

so if you are a fan of those games you should play thimble weed park because it is created by the creators of some of those fantastic games from back in the day um and it is basic basically uh I mean and it's set in the 80s too it's set in 1987 yeah yeah it's basically just you can just add it to the to the pile of those awesome games it feels like you're playing one of the old adventure games and it's it's so good it reminds me a lot of Zach McCracken which is one of my favorite games of all time it's very very Zach McCracken isn't it and uh yeah Maniac mansion and M all those games this amazing yeah it's very funny and if if you do if you ask familiar with those games you're going to find a lot of Easter eggs in here you're going to you're going to really

enjoy some of the stuff that's they had apparently um they released a patch up there I don't know if you saw the email the first patch for it you know bug fixes and stuff like that and also apparently in the reviews and kind of talk about it online people complained that there are too many in jokes because I guess PE I mean a lot of people haven't played those games they were they were like baffled by some of these reference and so there is now a menu option that I think is actually off by default like you have to you have to go and turn the menu option is annoying in jokes you have to go and turn them on and I recommend that you do that what yeah I think they're funny also love back in there now and make sure I love how pass agressive that is too yeah turn the

annoying in jokes off so funny but yeah that's uh apparently some people weren't enjoying it enjoying all the jokes but I think it's stupid why would you play a game like this well on the one hand sure but like you know yeah just tell them to get stuffed but on the other hand I mean I'll you want to sell as many copies of this game as possible so yeah true and I suppose that the the people that were going to buy and play this game anyway probably did what we did and um chicked in chipped into the kickstarter yeah so did you get your certificate of uh no no I didn't you get solved no well I mean I've I've paid for this game twice now Matt I I kicked in for it to be absolved

from the guilt of of uh of pirating Maniac Mansion when I was 14 but uh but then everything went to my spam folder and I couldn't I couldn't retrieve any of it so my my desire to play this game just became overwhelming and I just so you're double absolved the 20 bucks again yeah well I mean I'm not officially absolved well hang on we maybe we could probably make that happen I mean Ron Gilbert's fairly available on social media let's if we can sort this out okay let's let's reach out to Ron let's explain what happened uh and let's let's see if we can get Ron to publicly say that I am doubly absolved yeah exactly and then he has to send you a copy of Secret of Monkey

Island cuz you paid him too much money fora cuz that's what I had back then all right so for a mega 500 yeah and I'll take a Commodore 64 copy of Zack McCracken thanks I don't want I'm going to play it on I would love to to get a Commodore 64 but I'm certain that it would be prohibitively expensive and it probably wouldn't work okay let's check eBay cuz let's see what also I'm also certain that I wouldn't be able to hook it up to a TV a modern TV and I would get very annoyed at it very quickly because that it would you know you got to wait uh in a case of uh the Batman the Movie game which I had on cassette you had to load it off a cassette you

had to wait there's a lot of people that don't even know that was a thing yeah you had to load the game off a cassette and uh it took as long as it took for the cassette to play that's not a joke yeah and then you had to rewind the game at the end yeah and actually you could copy games uh by copying like just putting it in a standard cassette player you know one of those double cassette players hit play on one hit record on the other you could copy games like that not I'm not condoning piracy I'm just saying yeah that was a thing y um 300 bucks Matt and you can get yourself combo 64 with uh with a monitor oh the with the official Commodore monitor actually I'm looking at it now um with the is this a separate hard drive or is this just

floppy in or 3 and 1/2 inch floppy Drive uh this would be I can't tell on this picture but I would imagine 5 and a qu I remember when I did the cuz c64 didn't have a 3 and a half inch them out right at the end or either either it came out or the official common 64 magazine or whatever magazine it was that I used to get I used to get it Comm 64 magazine it came with h you know game demos on tapes on the front of it yeah had like there was one coming out a 3 and a half inch and uh and but I was like oh my God that is I'm never going to fill one of those up no exactly right now you have a computer is a thousand times as powerful as that c64 Y in your pocket right now I've got this yeah I'm holding it right now I got

my new iPhone 7 plus uh I could probably run all the comodo 64 games on it now that I think about it it's probably an emulator so yeah well I I know that I've got uh I wish I could get Zack McCracken on this I should release that I know they released the uh the Monkey Island special edition on here and I think I bought that actually did they okay interesting I still just use the scum VM to play those can you get scum VM on on iPhone not that I'm aware of yeah I didn't think so think yeah no you can't CU it uh it allows you to you know put some pirated stuff on there I don't like that defender of the crown oh defender of the crown did you have that on c64 yeah of course did you did you did you have what is possibly the greatest game ever on c64 defender of the crown yeah defender

of the you where you'd stor the castle and then you get to uh get to sleep princess yes yeah I'm familiar with it yeah yeah I'm sure that's on iPhone yeah I've got that for iOS kidding me actually I had it on the iPad but uh assuming that works on iPhone as well the commodor 64 version was better than the Amiga 500 version cuz I had that but the c64 version had more options for things when you when you're storming a castle in the Omega 500 version you could only use rocks in your catapult whereas I remember in the c64 versioning things oil exactly you could shoot a diseased cow in that's right wait for them wait for them to all get sick and die like that's real [ __ ] medieval warfare you used to Jou in it you had to like hold the the Lance

steady and Jou a tops game tops I wish I don't want to say tops anymore I don't know why I keep saying that no tops is good you haven't you haven't let go of all of your aess N I refuse to everyone at work says says [ __ ] to me now I said [ __ ] in a day got fully reprehended yeah cuz you've made it okay well just my presence there they think makes it okay yeah we can swear all we want well this [ __ ] here yeah exactly I mean I don't care so yeah oh what is this it's funny that that that that word is so much worse here yeah yeah there's quite a few words that you can't say in America yeah some of them for for you know a fairly obvious
