Rock yeah Stars Shan connory as my erect penis welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy when did you get your driver's license Luke uh oh God how old am I now uh 3 30s five 35 so nearly 20 years ago uhhuh you got yours a bit later Dan is that right oh I got mine very late man I've only had mine for seven years well you lost it for half of that didn't you yeah and uh yeah two speeding tickets in the first year meant I spent quite a bit

of time without it well I just uh I just had to go recently my Australian license expired and luckily I I noticed and everything in time CU I could use my Australian license here for 12 months which meant I still had six months except it's got to be valid which meant I didn't so I had to make and you can't really fly back to renew it no I could have got a longer one but then it seemed like a waste of money uh you know when I renewed in Sydney last year but I had the immense pleasure of once again visiting the DMV here in uh you love that place I know I told you before about our experience and I thought this time I've mentioned on the podcast before for those who didn't hear it it sucks there's one building basically that Services the whole of this state um

and there are a couple of field offices and you can do odds and ends at other places like aleaa but there's just there's one DMV so imagine there's just one RTA for your state although to be fair this state is very small but not that small like I think it's bigger than CRA and CRA has like quite a few of them still so I thought the best thing to do is going to be to get there first thing in the morning and hopefully there won't be any lines or anything and I can just go in and get it done so just before you go on can I take one guess go ahead a lot of people have this same idea it opens at 8:30 on a weekday I got there at4 to 8 and there was already a line from the front door into into the car park wow oh God and I was like ah [ __ ] and it was

minus something it's been very cold here so I was like all right let's do this so I got out waited in the line the line continued to grow actually like snakes like through the car park it was there's like uh one I heard one of the dormans say that there are thousands of people there every morning I was like this is going to be fun the way it works is you go in and you line up at the uh like a a booth that you go to first and then they make sure you've got all the stuff that you need before they give you a ticket number because otherwise you're wasting everybody's time like triage like triage yeah when you go to a clinic and they you got to go and tell some nurse first what's wrong with you and she sorts you out and tells you where to go right and make sure you're not going to get in

there and and waste you know waste time and and money y so anyway I get I get up to the front it didn't take that long to get through the first how I don't know 100 people that were in front of me so I got all my stuff sorted out and then uh I had to go down and and get approved by security clearance people they checked my Visa and all that kind of crap and uh all up my experience there took about 2 hours and I was given my Learners permit Learners yeah what so so going Learners per I did hear someone in the uh in the line for the the number Booth say that he'd been waiting 45 minutes so I'm glad I did get there early so it's just 45 minutes to get a number to wait cuz and and I had to wait like an hour

and a half when I had my number I went I went to our version last year um I had to go get uh the go get the start to get my L's my motorcycle license oh yeah I walked over there I started my lunch what about 12 we'll get back to it Dan about a two minute walk walked in took my number saw the person and made it back to my desk in about 15 minutes yeah since they including the thought of photo and to wait for the license to be printed I remember the RTA used to be really bad uh and then since they they do that the new like the they outsourced it and it's been really good that's my experience recently well not now not now well well not not for you now oh no absolutely not no so I got a for you that's that's a really long trip now L

you ride a motorbike I ride a scooter How is it that I know nothing about you wa you actually have and ride a scooter right now yes yes why haven't you mentioned this never came up like a veser or like a moped uh it's more like a veser okay cool sits on 110 so I ride on the highway what kind of helmet do you have I know that sounds like an odd question I don't have a Star Wars one yet okay listeners will know that's not an odd question to ask L I do want one it's the most important question I get one what color is your scooter my scooter is white okay for now cuz I was impatient and couldn't wait the extra 3 Days To Get It One In Color what ask how much how much does a scooter like that cost oh the one I got was like 4,000 okay 4 and a half or

something and what brand is it what ym SIM right okay you got a picture I think I think we need a picture of Luke on his scooter up on the multiple nerdgasm Instagram yeah and if I don't get one from you I'm just going to photoshop one and it's not going to be flattering it in your best interest to send one along Luke all right I'll see what I can do I'll have one taken this week as soon as the sun's out all right good soon as your son it raining the wet yet oh yeah it's been rainy over there hasn't it it rains here every day stop complaining basically it's also horribly hot every day too you get a bit of both learn not to complain about the heat here I can't complain about the Heat or the rain no it doesn't snow here though

and I can't complain about the cold it's not fair I can't complain about anything anymore yeah just shut your Windam mouth man you live in the Promised Land Str so Matt you're on your L's now yeah and uh luckily this this particular permit allows me to drive on my own cuz I when she told me okay you got to do I had to do a computer test you know where you touch the screen and answer the questions and she said all right and then you'll get your learners permit and I was like sorry I have to go to work every day um if I have to be supervised driving that's going to be a problem and she said no no no you're fine I've got to wait at least 30 days uh and then I can book to go do a you know a driving test with a with a person with a bureaucrat sitting next to you judging

you when you're driving yeah wow and uh and then yeah I get my so you sure you're allowed to just drive yeah it actually says it on my it's not even a proper license it's a piece of paper it's got my photo on it it's just a piece of paper and it actually says on it let me read it I'm with Luke this does not sound legit the whole fact you have to wait 30 days as and Providence plantations learner permit this permit is issued in blah blah blah blah blah uh the permit holder is required to be in possession of this permit at all times when operating a motor vehicle a supervising driver is not required for this permit holder and I look I look drunk in the photo obious obviously so just stay drunk while you're driving yeah you want to look like you're going to look when

you get pulled over so I think that's fair yeah no you got to be very polite here if you get pulled over they don't like jokes no I sent around a video you know that uh the video of the guy oh I'm just waiting for a mate the guy crashed the car so much I said up on the gutter yeah you had an accident have I yeah what did I hit so good I sent that around at my work too no one understood it everyone at my work just went wow the police are very polite in Australia like they would have just beaten that guy here so I'm actually going for my license at the moment too because I've been here more than 12 months so my Australian license is no longer counts as valid driver's license here uh but all I have to do is the computer test so I'm booked

in for that in a couple of weeks do you drive much over there I don't drive at all here because do you know do you know about the car situation here have I talked about this before I don't think so no okay so cars here cost about twice what a car would cost in any other country so to get just a small little hatchback instead of costing you about 15 grand will cost about 30 grand so right off the bat cars are quite expensive but to combat the road situation or let's say the traffic situation that occurs in most other Southeast Asian countries which is to say out of [ __ ] chaos right um there is also a road tax that you have to pay if you own a car for the privilege of

driving on sing roads and that tax is $90,000 per year what what not a joke it is $90,000 per year to drive in Singapore that's insane also if you want to drive in the CBD uh you get charged a fee every time you enter the CPD how much do you people get paid over there yeah yeah not enough for that hence why almost nobody has a car in fact if you um if you're out on the roads here it's it's service Vehicles taxis and Ubers and that's it almost I don't think I no I know one person who has a car how can people afford to operate an Uber like um Uber they exemp you can you can rent a car from Uber oh and they pay it or something yeah correct that's why all Ubers seem to be those um what's

that funny little car with the square back the Smart car no no not the Smart car it's uh the door handle to the back doors up on the window maybe you guys don't have them over there anyway they're everywhere here we don't have a whole lot of hatchbacks here that's one thing I've noticed we've got uh you need big cars yeah yeah if you come with Confederate flags on the back window we saw a bunch of those down south if you uh yeah yep uh next time you're here have a look try and spot like a you know like a hatchback like you know in Australia a lot of people have Corollas or you know Honda Civics and that kind of stuff try and spot them you won't yeah right well back in Australia you and I had the

exact same car Matt both hatchback yep no no that that car in particular that small no you never see it yeah no doesn't exist here I guess it it' get eaten by the bigger cars exactly right yeah they just they don't have them no one wants them I guess so it's not worth it so no I don't have a car here and I don't hardly have a drive but you need ID I guess well I want my license well actually everyone's got an ID here because everyone has to I mean it's a bit of a nanny state so everyone's issued with an ID you have to give your ID number when you buy a ticket to the movies here huh really yeah every everywhere I ask for your ID everywhere so I've got uh I've got my work permit which like is

classed as a government ID which I can use but I actually need to drive so yeah yeah do you guys want to talk about you've been playing some video games this week cuz I have I assume you guys have oh I have I have actually some big feeling we may have all been playing the same game at one point too yeah we've been uh waiting for a game to come out and it's had a bit of a shaky start I think to its life from you know from the reviews and people's opinions of it I've sorry yeah why don't you say what the name of the game is before I put my throw my head into the I was about to say I'm dancing around it and the name of the game is Mass Effect Andromeda yay can I just say straight off the bat yeah I don't know what people are [ __ ] complaining about I don't really either

well and I in fact I don't know what you guys are complaining about with the voice acting I think it's [ __ ] fine it's I think it's only because I was I was playing the other day what's that the voice acting wasn't a problem for me it was the faces I think the faces are a problem I mean they're slightly more carish I guess people's eyes Jump Around quite a bit when you're talking to them and stuff like that and you know what I I promise you I wouldn't have noticed it except people are talking about it and so I'm I'm like every time I go into a conversation I'm I'm like hyper aware of the stilted kind of conversation that it's just it's a video game like but in saying this like it's not like the original Mass Effect series was that

good for that either was a little bit better with their faces but yeah I know man the faces in Mass Effect were a bit weird always a bit weird what pulls you into it though is the great story yeah so far I'm I'm into it has yeah it really does I've got no problem with anything so far yeah me everyone on the internet [ __ ] you I'm enjoying the [ __ ] out of this game and people are complaining about some weird stuff like like not being able to make someone Caucasian enough in the Character Creator like come on what that's an honestly people are complaining about it it's like just he's too tan I need to be pure Aryan race yeah people are weird yeah that's weird that's weird if you're one of those people you're weird stop listening to my podcast like I will be I did not

spend as long as I normally did creating my character because just felt a little off to me so I just went look I'm going to jump straight into the game I thought it started a little slow yeah just arriving and the handh holding be and trying I was also trying to find out what was happening really see I kind of liked it cuz it kind of it threw you in a little bit but then you know gu like first planet is beautiful yeah no it's great I'm With You Luke I didn't uh I didn't put a whole lot of effort compared to the previous games in constructing my character basically chose a default head and then change the hair do but I will say this did you guys is it just me I had trouble turning the head during the uh character building could you guys turn the head from Sid to

side I don't remember okay cuz I couldn't and I I don't know why you're supposed to be able to turn the head I couldn't do it anyway I I made a generic character with new hair basically um started the game and the first closeup I realized somehow I'd ended up with huge [ __ ] ridiculous sideburns right my guy so I actually I just stopped restarted went back corrected it and then watched I watched through the I I couldn't stop staring at them and I knew it was going to ruin the entire game for me my um this always happens with Mass Effect I don't know what it is is about the mass effect character creators what I don't know what they're doing at BioWare that's why I'm like people complaining about the character creat I'm like they're always

[ __ ] don't worry about it like you always create like a [ __ ] monstrosity don't worry about it from my guy looks great most of the time and then every now and then his eyebrows are like curve and he looks like ridiculous like he'll being a conversation he just and like whatever expression it is that he's supposed to be making it looks like he's having a stroke so fep from Mass Effect 3 was okay in two but three kind of mixed it up a bit and my fep in three looked like an older lady who had had some kind of desperate plastic surgery done yeah you know and ended up looking not quite right yeah uh all right now the most important question I have to ask who are you going to bang on your ship I haven't met everybody yet yeah I have

bang but that's the first thing I you know the first thing I did was look around who is bang worthy yeah I explore the ship figure out who the options are start whittling them away start laying the groundw don't make sure after every Mission I talk to you yep not going to flirt with the the tan not not into that you're not not into inter species relation well I had some pretty hot inter species sex with a quaran so no I'm not going to turn down assari but I'm Anan yeah unfortunately Natalie Dormer shut me down straight off she's the uh doctor on the ship did you try realize that you try and is Clancy Brown your dad that's something I meant to look up yeah it is yeah yeah I heard that voice I was like [ __ ] I just want Clancy Brown to read Lord of

the Rings to me as I fall asleep every night you know what I mean yeah and director tan who is that I know his voice I uh I you know what I did actually look up the voice actors the other day cuz I was trying to figure out if um you what's the Gil the guy who flies the ship he sounds a little like bit like oh no I'm going to reveal something about myself that I've revealed before he sounds a little bit like the guy who plays Enzo on The Vampire Diaries so I was trying to figure out if it was him and we can just pretend that I didn't admit again that I watched that oh just uh we just let that go yeah thanks appreciate it okay so I'm not not sure who I'm going to bang yet I haven't met everybody I know that there's that other assari girl

that I'm going to meet at some point I haven't gotten that far I've actually really only left the Nexus that's where I'm up to cuz I oh wow yeah I know I haven't done much cuz I jumped into the multiplayer to try that out as well I I tried that out I didn't go well and then I just left and quit I'm going to bang suie that was my experience as well I suck at it basically it could be fun to play yeah because I've already EOS is now 100% level and I've got people there now oh nice wow I've moved on to I've actually got uh two planets at at 100% another at 70 and I haven't discovered the other two yet M well no SP I think there's a lot more to it than no no no SP no I'm just being silly but I think there's there's um I won't it takes me a little bit longer to

spoil games than it does movies sure movies I don't give people long at all movies [ __ ] them games I respect no I just with the movie movie you can find time in the first two weeks if you want to see it to go see it yeah game I understand that it is a longer time commitment to put I know I'm like 20 30 hours in a row I'll probably never finish this game it did only come out this week yeah yeah yeah I'd already done 10 hours before it had come out oh yeah that's right because you got EA access EA access yeah I had to look at that I can't justify it for the games that are on there cuz I own all of the ones that I would be interested in anyway so it's kind of just pointless to me yes but for me it's good for achievements with sports games yeah oh

okay yeah don't care about those yeah I'm never going to buy a sports game but I'll play them to get achievements and this is how I I give AA 40 bucks a year for the privilege of playing oh man the the ship the Tempest is [ __ ] awesome I want to live on the Tempest Normy ripoff no I thought the Normandy was cool This ship's cooler it's and I I did see they mentioned this uh either in a a video or possibly at P they wanted to give it more windows kind of so whereas the Normandy just because the technology had to be a little more closed off where the technology of the game or the technology of the Normandy the technology of the game whereas in this you you know how it's got Windows everywhere especially like you go up into the meeting room and it's like full

360 windows and then down in in your quarters it looks out over whatever and what you look out at is where you are like it changes based on where you are in in the galaxy and I must say I do find myself just standing and looking out of the [ __ ] windows and that's exactly how it would be in real life if I on a sh I would just stand there look out and be like M just be staring there looking at the Godless void waiting for death right [ __ ] yeah one thing that does get annoying though is the travel oh yeah between planets just to scan I'm hoping they're going to let you skip that they've got a patch coming that's going to fix a bunch of people's issues I think cuz that's nice the first couple of times where hey I've scaned this planet I'm going to go scan this thing

and it does a big sweeping thing like traveling beautiful but then after the first 10 20 times where it's I just want to go there and PR a and then move to the next one like just yes I no longer appreciate this beautiful galaxy you've created you've numbed me to it yeah hopefully they'll let you skip that it's weird that they didn't when whenever there's something like that in a game it weeds me out that like of all the things that they could have thought no maybe we'll let them skip that like you really thought people would want that like you know they have to wait 20 seconds before they can get from place to place got to have something to do with the load times or something yeah I thought that too actually like when you use the uh when you walk up to a door

and it just stays red for that little bit longer or when you use the tram in uh in the in the Nexus and it it just takes a little bit longer to get somewhere than you think would really be ideal but remember in the first Mass Effect though with the [ __ ] elevator load screens yep where you just have to at least they made them interesting yeah with the news reports yeah you just have to stand in an elevator for five minutes while it loads but they made it seem like it was part of the game yeah it's funny though that see now we're complaining about it whereas if it was a load screen we'd be like oh I guess it's got a load like but now it's like a annoying thing but yeah I I'm hoping to have this finished probably this week and I am not

going to rush it yeah I am not going to have this finished for quite some time yeah I'm not rushing I didn't even play it at all today all I played today was Metal Slug oh yeah a thousand gamer score out of it the old arcade game yep nice yeah I had a day off from M Massif just to step back I'll get back into it tomorrow well we're GNA I'm playing it a bit we've been playing Jenna and I have been playing through Borderlands 2 again just because we I never played the second Borderlands oh God it's so good oh you're missing out it's so much better than the first one really it's really good yeah it's really good if you pick up that handsome collection if you if you're it's got Borderlands Jack collection yeah yeah yeah it's got

Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel which is like the Australian Borderlands they two 2K Australia made it and so everyone's an Aussie in it oh it's got yeah speaking of which gentlemen yes I dipped I dipped back into Civ 6 today once I realized there was an Australia pack in the DLC so uh does that have to be a DLC well I mean I bought the uh I bought the entire version that gives you all the DLC so oh with the season pass or whatever they call it yeah I didn't DL the C in this case but um it's uh yeah so I'm I'm starting a new campaign as the Aussies so nice I'm enjoying that yes you get an Outback station as your uh unique building and you get the diggers as your unique armor

unit interesting yeah I like it have has your interest in Civ 6 picked up or are you still thinking five is better I haven't played it until this Australia campaign uh I've been I played a little bit of C five in between and I still I still prefer five there's something about it that I just I like better but um yeah maybe maybe maybe this Australia pack will entice me to play through an entire campaign in Civ 6 which I haven't done yet okay I will play it one day but I'm always scared about starting a civilization game because one game of that always takes me eight hours just sitting in front of the computer not moving yeah just one more turn one more turn one more even after I win the game I keep playing I agree and that's why I've had to ban myself from playing it

in bed at night cuz you just play it forever yeah I just play it forever uh and then the sun will come up and I'll be like [ __ ] but uh it's it's good for planes and I'm on a lot of planes these days oh yeah yeah you zip around a lot yeah been in three country this week alone I'm going to get in trouble for showing off by saying that play I'm not showing off all right just stating a fact speaking of showing off I just want to there's a clip here let me make sure this is working can you guys tell me can you hear this should we uh should we look at some news yep I found a way to to increase or decrease the size of your penis oh that's interesting I didn't know that yeah I mean it's all true Luke it's all very true I know it's just feeling a bit small at the moment sure

think you're allowed to on Twitch well that's you know it's discrimination I don't know how that's discrimination no we'll figure out a way okay more like discrimination speaking of dicks uh did you guys watch the Justice League trailer no I haven't yet yeah I watched it I just heard about it you didn't you didn't see all the little mini trailers that dropped yesterday to prepare you to wet your appetite no Matt heard about it before we started pretty I find the trailers for a trailer thing pretty obnoxious yeah yeah like I mean [ __ ] off but what did you think of the trailer I thought it looked stupid yeah just personally a [ __ ] terrible trailer and nothing about it entices me to see

this movie except to say that I'll probably watch anything that gal do is ever in just just to look at her sure but other than that this looks like the biggest piece of [ __ ] ever I just don't get it I don't understand it's so strange it's like DC try to be Marvel but just haven't shed enough of the shittiness of the DC stuff that everyone hated before see I'm not even I don't I I don't like saying oh you know marvel does it better and DC Does It Better like even just on its right this trailer just it doesn't look very good to me at all like it's not it doesn't look like a good movie like I don't like cyborg looks awful like it looks like he's his his armor isn't attached it just looks

like a cartoon and well the whole thing looks like a cartoon which I guess maybe that's what they're going for maybe that's what it is I just I don't appreciate but looks like it looks like a cartoon not a comic book come to life right yeah which is what you're sort of going for but I'm sort of just watching the trailer now just why you guys are talking and it looks like they're trying to do the thing that got people sucked into Suicide Squad which was the music for the trailer is awesome yeah yeah I I see I find that strange as well cuz I prefer trailers that have like you know like an epic score or something whereas this is I don't know I think the tone of this is just not appealing to me so far and also they do have color in the DC Universe somewhere don't they it doesn't

have to be all black and white they are going very dark with this but not like well they're even making the flash sort of dark where the flash is bright red yeah no he's kind of more of a maroon in this an Aquaman he's orange no he's not in this well he doesn't even have a shirt he's he's bare chested that sequence where he's on the Batmobile and he gives like Batman a little wink and Batman's like yeah and then he jumps up and stabs at those flying the the josian yeah I was just like oh that is that does not look good to me no and look look I know that I enjoyed Batman v Superman more than you guys did because I was just happy that

Batman and Superman were on SC there's two there two characters I like in one movie together Superman's not even [ __ ] in this as far as I can tell yeah um he will be I I guarantee he'll be in there somewhere um but bring him back I don't know I don't think he will be it can't be Justice League if he's not in it well I also there was no Martian Manhunter either and I say there's no justice league without Martian Manhunter fair enough I think everyone's a bit over Superman and I don't think he will be back in this one yeah all right fine looks like the most [ __ ] twodimensional version of him that they could have possibly come up with like what what is the reasoning behind making this just more genetic genetic generic [ __ ] you know what I mean yeah and again

I don't want to sound like I'm hating on DC I love Batman uh I'm not super familiar with the other characters because I mean all right maybe I am hating on DC I just didn't realize it I like Batman yeah the rest of them are just Batman from the Batman games oh [ __ ] yeah they we've talked about this before they need to make the Arkham series into movies see I think Batman has gotten too dark now they should go back to the way he was in the 60s they should do another totally Camp tights Batman they tried that Joel SCH and he was crucified for it yeah I don't think he was doing that on purpose though I think that's just what you get when you get a Raving Queen to direct a Batman movie oh man who the [ __ ] thought that was a good idea especially after the

after the first one what George CL was like oh Yeahs yeah I'll do it tell you what put nipples on the costume I'll come back for one more maybe it's cuz Anie was involved and he was like oh this will be good no well he was the worst thing about a [ __ ] movie do not put me in the cooler ice to see you oh God the best so yeah I don't know this this doesn't look very good to me I still reckon that that they should have tried to maybe intertwine their television Universe with the movie yeah bring the TV Flash in well see I haven't seen any of the TV stuff either neither have I but people will liking it yeah well Wonder Woman looks good I've seen it I saw another trailer

for Wonder Woman the other week uh before Beauty and the Beast and uh and that looks good so you know yeah it does it does it looks genuinely good uh I've seen the recent trailer as well and so hopefully yeah hopefully that'll be different I think that'll be the only good one out of all of them well might not maybe it'll be [ __ ] as well who knows Aquaman I'm not looking forward to he's getting own Standalone is it yeah ju yeah and if it wasn't for James Juan there's no way I'd be going to see this because I have zero interest in an Aquaman Standalone movie and I [ __ ] I find Jason mmoa has like all the Charisma of a khaki colored cardigan but um it's so alliterative I love it that so he won't understand it yeah

exactly but [ __ ] me I just I'll watch anything James ju makes so yeah he hasn't I'm trying to think has he made a bad film I don't think he has he has not let me down yet Matt I didn't like the conjuring one that much but I didn't dislike it it just was oh no I liked the conjuring I like theing I don't think I've seen the second one because I was like what could this where could this possibly go from here yeah okay I'll check out coning toing 2 is good need to stop doing everything and make my robot Tech movie yeah they're doing that aren't they I'll chip in for you know I got reminded the other day that uh there's supposed to be a Witcher movie coming out this year they announced it ages ago and then there's been nothing no because there was an

interview with uh the author of the books who oh did you know uh we haven't talked about this at all I think he uh you know he wrote The Witcher books which are great by the way if you listeners if you haven't read them they're really good um I still haven't played the third Witcher game oh my God it's so good it's like the best video game but he uh he wrote the books and then CD project red approached him when they were going to do the first Witcher game which is a long time ago now I don't know exactly when but they came they approached him and they said we want to make a video game and he was like fine video games are stupid but fine and they said do you want uh do you want to lump some now or do you want an ongoing share of the profits and he was

like profits from a video game don't don't make me laugh I want to lump some right now and then and now he's like [ __ ] [ __ ] yeah and he even he said the games are amazing and have changed his mind about video games cuz he thought it was just little dots on the screen that were supposed to be aliens and you shoted them and he was like well that's going to be [ __ ] no he hasn't played a game since pong well it was a long it The Witcher the original Witcher came out it's been a while like I guess a forgivable per original Witcher wasn't dots on a screen that you shoot at no I know that but he's like an older guy who lives he's in he's from Poland he's an older guy I don't think he gives a [ __ ] about video games at all and so probably wasn't as

culturally important back then yeah no that's fair to be honest was at a dinner the other night with some clients and it came out that I played video games and then I had to spend about half an hour 45 minutes explaining to everyone the appeal of video games why I played them why it wasn't a complete waste of time yeah right I I've had this conversation with many people at work and all I try and do is find the stupid hobby that they have cuz everyone's got one sure I've got guy work with he likes cars He collects he's got like a really nice car that he spent a fortune on yeah yeah I don't even know what it is it's a f Porsche or something another guy who likes to drink really nice ports so he spent hundreds of dollars on say another guy likes to

drink no that's you yeah it's You Luke no don't drink nice stuff I'll drink the cheapest stuff possible yeah right but yeah I'm just trying to explain to people that way like yeah I think what you do is stupid yeah and that's the name of your book Luke l I think what you do is stupid but that's how I sort of try to get people to come around to games are okay just leave me alone yeah look I basically said you know when you're really engross in a good book and you just want to read a little bit every night that's what it's like playing a video game you think about it when you're not playing it you can play it for hours if you don't get distracted yeah it's like an it's a extension on from like films and stuff

now I think it's like interactive film like it's you experience a story that you couldn't otherwise experience in your everyday life mhm like uh exploring a [ __ ] distant Galaxy for example yeah expanding my mind to the very boundaries of the known universe exactly which is why I think a lot of Mo game to movie adaptations don't work because people already have parts of the story worked out in their head that they created on their own yeah like imagine if they tried to make Mass Effect you know the mass Trilogy into a movie like you could never get it in in a state where everybody well straight away whoever you cast is shepher going to have half the people complaining straight away yep and then uh and then F ship is a real ship yeah but then people

would complain about that 100% oh yes speaking of which guys I uh I attempted to watch the Warcraft movie oh did you made I barely made it 15 minutes in really I mean I I don't know what's worse the script the acting the [ __ ] cartoon of the look and feel of it's just it's just bad it's just really bad cuz this thing they didn't even go off like the Warcraft game or anything they tried I mean the MMO they tried to go back like the original Warcraft and how back story for that started or something they they talked about the story to that you and you and someone else build a city then you fight but he said that there and and I think he's right there is a lot that if you

don't know the story of and MMO is different to uh a movie because throughout the course of playing the game you can find out a lot of information whereas in a film there's no way that you know like a 2hour film you couldn't explain all of the different you you got all the races you got all the cities you got all the Wars all the history that kind of stuff but this is where I think that they're going wrong with these movies cuz they go we have to either explain everything or go our own way like that's what happened with the new last the Assassin's Creed movie oh yeah I haven't seen that yet no I haven't either I haven't seen it yet but evidently like the leap of faith mhm something that we know is a thing like you run up you jump off thing you land a

bail of leap of faith in that they made a point of pointing that out and going the leap of the faith I never thought I'd see that and they're not making these movies for gamers right yeah and I think that's where they're losing people cuz the people who are going to go see this movie and review it are the gamers yeah if you don't give Gamers what they want to see they're going to just give it a [ __ ] review yeah and then no one is going to go see this movie know but they're not making the movie for games they're making the movie for who they think everyone will want to see it because you could just throw them in right like look look at Star Wars for example like Star Wars just throws you in actually and THX the same thing yeah just throws you in more so and and you figure

out you figure out what you need to know or you know what you feel like figuring out and then but you can still experience the story I always say that about TV series if I understand the plot straight away in the first episode I'm not going to enjoy the show because it means the characters are telling me about the plot and I hate that yeah what I what I want is to be confused until I start figuring it all out yeah yeah yeah you don't need to hand feed it to people and try and explain like but your audience people who you want to go see this movie are going to go see this movie so make it for them then other people will flow on to it yeah yeah well I mean that goes I guess for the the DC movies too they keep saying that's the big defense of all of

these things oh and uh and uh I fist as well recently uh got some pretty negative reviews and they said as well it's well it's not for critics it's for the fans and and the fans loved it yeah well and same Batman vers Superman I mean I cannot I mean I know that I didn't I didn't like Batman vs Superman I know I know people like I've met I know human beings in my life who [ __ ] love that movie so they're doing something right so maybe that's something to that no I still think they're messed up with Batman 3 Superman not going to defend that one all right fine I could have done better but I still enjoyed it which you know what I really [ __ ] enjoyed Kong Skull

Island do you see Kong catching on fire mate [ __ ] everything catches on fire Kong Skull Island right is like somebody watched King Kong and Apocalypse Now in one night kind of falling asleep waking up and only seeing bits and then the next morning thinking that they had had one idea for a movie all right well see now I really want to watch it look it's not I meant at the premiere how the the Big King Kong oh model caught on fire oh like on purpose like a burning man thing or no as in oh [ __ ] it's on fire everyone run okay Googling this now I didn't know about that yeah it was it the V Vietnamese Premiere King Kong like they had like a huge King Kong model standing over like this the theater and then the thing just

catches on fire and goes up like crazy holy [ __ ] holy [ __ ] I'm looking at it now okay it's not just this little thing that burning Matt it's a [ __ ] stage that's a light and in the midst of it it is Kong really let trying to find holy [ __ ] like people like before it takes home people are just in front of it having photos taken and then it's just yep goes up in flame the entire thing that magnificent you couldn't have asked for something thought you two would have known about this no I somehow missed this I was [ __ ] in Vietnam last week could have been there [ __ ] I'm going to get in trouble for [ __ ] showing off [Laughter]

again look I found your place to get your jacket oh awesome yeah there's a lot of Custom Tailor around but I found one place in District 1 that had a lot of kind of weird stuff in the window uh cuz you know mostly it's just suits and stuff right so I was specifically looking for somebody that I thought might do something a little out of the box but there was this one that had like a Victorian frock coat hanging in the window and I was like okay this one's for Luke that's the one yep just want to go in there and go here's a picture here's me make these two things work together turn me into a jacket yes make a jacket out of my skin yeah um Kong is not going to win any

screenwriting Awards it's pretty basic in terms of you know plot yeah uh it's a simple story told well and that's all I ask in this case it's a popcorn movie but from my point of view this is the reason that Cinema was invented so you could eat popcorn and watch just [ __ ] spacular images that aren't so dumb they insult your intelligence but aren't so smart they require you to think you know okay yeah nice thank God we've got a decent monster movie yeah this is I did read that they originally I think it was they wanted to do a trailer or or an intro to it at some point that I don't know if this is in the film hopefully I'm not spoiling anything I don't think I am where people were like on the beach of the island and then the gorilla from

um Peter Jackson's King Kong like bursts out and they're like oh my God cuz it's huge and then the their Kong just like smashes that this Kong is [ __ ] big yeah he's like apparently the biggest Kong yeah yeah cuz he cuz Jackson went for like not realism but he basically just wanted a really big ape yeah whereas this is this is godilla nice this is you know speaking of which him to fight Godzilla yeah well I I'll go out on a limb here and say that after all the hype for the recent Godzilla movie I didn't think it was all that good no I didn't think it was that great either it was terrible oh okay good I did not feel anything for any of those characters I agree I think it was

fairly paint by numbers which is odd because I'd heard so many good things about it took me a while to see it too in fact I only went back and watched it after seeing Rogue one because I wanted to see G edwards's other movies yeah no I didn't like it I thought yeah I found the the sun in you know the uh just to be very and so yeah yeah like they were trying to have this whole family separated or will they find each other thing and I just did not care for that family at all yeah did not care for that could have killed any one of them off wouldn't have bothered me at all you hear that listeners Luke will kill any member of your family it will not bother him at

all uh but uh I'm surprised you actually heard people that like that oh not I don't know anybody that liked it I just I just read a lot of I heard it was good too and just finally you know a monster movie that's smart and I'm like okay great I can I'm all in it just it seemed like Godzilla was just everywhere conveniently that he needed to be at times Well everywhere that it it was all very convenient yeah but what you guys should watch is you should watch Gareth Edward's first movie his Indie movie called monsters I've heard of it yeah is worth a watch that's the one where people are trying to get from the US to Mexico or something correct yes I've seen that that was a good movie yeah yeah it was good yep Kong SK speaking of uh speaking of him uh we have a rogue

One update mhm we talked about this before we not label the point news jingle oh [Music] yeah war war yeah so we talked before about how the ending to Rogue one was different and we saw you know you've seen footage in the trailers that's not in the film and yada yada yada you know all this you know this because you listen to this show so we won't bore you with that this week uh at Star Wars celebration Alan tudk uh disussed the man with two dicks the man with two dicks disgusted uh the alter ending or just the differences and it's as simple as apparently at uh one point the building where they had to transmit the plans was

a different building from the building that they got the plans and so they had to go back outside and that's why there's footage of them outside and oh yes that's that's that's why yeah I read the same interview with uh garyth Edwards who said basically when they watched the cut they felt there was no need to go in go out and go in somewhere else right so they shortened it all yeah which I can sort of see that because running through a different building what would have looked cool for a little bit of it would have just made the movie run a little bit longer yeah I think that's what they said and basically he's come out and said there there won't be a deleted scene with the alternate ending on the DVD because there is no alternate ending

it was just a longer sequence of the same ending right yeah yeah and uh tudk said that apparently um the reason there's some shots of krennic is that he was involved as well and apparently he is the one that shot K2 in the uh original ending um but then they gave him a more heroic ending cuz he he kind of just got shot and that was it apparently but krennic shot him and then he was gone whereas they wanted him to have more of a I saw a krennic bobblehead the other day I've got it I you do I was going to say I didn't buy it but I'm planning to go back for it because I've been thinking I've been thinking about it so much yeah yeah but just because I I it and I I want Ben

Mendelson to know that I've got a bobblehead of him yeah yeah I'm looking back we've got we've got a bunch of them actually I've got a Vader one I've got Jin and we've got cassan and a Death Trooper we got a bunch of them we got some for Christmas and then it was like well got to get the rest of them K2 we have K2 yeah yeah and my um niece for when we went on our road trip honeymoon uh like for our wedding present gave us a Bubblehead Yoda to put in the car watch dashboard Yoda yeah so he's been in the car nice I thought it was cute so yeah the ending was a little bit different but not as different as we're all saying and then we've talked before you know the shots with the Tie Fighter and all that kind of stuff uh that's just cool stuff they filmed yeah they just someone made it at some point and

they're like oh it's cool but then it doesn't really work so it didn't go in and that was it which I'm so happy that scene did not make it in dude [ __ ] man yeah wouldn't have been believable that's the thing we've seen ships go up against ships but we've never seen someone standing there and a [ __ ] ship flies up in front of them shooting at a TIE fighter Jin versus TIE fighter yeah yeah I wonder who's going to win that Mortal Kombat that was the old Mortal Combat theme sorry if that wasn't that was immediately identifiable to only people that were a certain age in a certain year that's right yeah if you weren't 15 in 1995 you don't know that movie or that song If you could make a Mortal Kombat

game who would you what characters would you include out of everybody in the universe uh Subzero scorpion no no I mean like all right fine you could constrain it to the original Mortal Kombat characters but I mean anybody in the universe Oh you mean I'm making a Mortal Kombat game and I could have Superman versus Indiana Jones yes exactly right we have Paulie Hansen versus no I've made my decision right you gonna stick with yours Luke yep he's a simple man it seems to be working for him he's a simple man I mean your goal in this is to not make more money for them it it's just to just to watch them fight yeah yeah all right if I'm making a game I want it to make

sure that one is not going to happen uh this this one really did happen but unfortunately uh it was awful and uh and the TV audience voted against it by just not watching it so um Channel 4 canceled it after only a couple of episodes uh but nobody told the contestants so at the end of a groeling season they emerged from the Wilderness only to find that no one had been watching their show yeah they add four episodes uh and then they just kept shooting him and and I guess putting him in the can yep and I I think this is great I think that's terrible to do to someone well I assume they're thinking they can probably try and get some DVD sales or sorry not DVD but like they like slap it

up on Netflix or something so they just were like oh [ __ ] it we'll keep going we'll keep going it doesn't cost us anything to keep it going yeah but no just think I'm just thinking about the people who go on these shows they normally think oh this is going to be get me out there a little bit of a career after that y n so they're going to be out in the wilderness for a year come out and go yeah no one knows who you are yeah you you were terrible yeah so we hated you and we hated your show and anything you've done we didn't have the heart to tell you we haven't seen yeah that's uh terrible and apparently it was so bad uh like the the uh the experience for the contestants was so bad that 13 of the 23 contestants left the show anyway during the course of the

season oh uh and so I guess there were 10 of them left in there who uh just didn't know that no one was watching it so that's [ __ ] oh man imagine that happened to you Luke on your Mars mission that we're hoping we're still hoping you'll go on yep there a woman in Australia who's on the short list to be going really she's 46 so you're going to assume assume her identity pretty sure just because she's Australian and you're Australian doesn't mean that if she dies you get to step in well that's what you're I don't think she's a good person to pick to go right she's 46 now they're planning to leave in 10 years so she'll be late 50s then so is this this reality show one yeah this is a reality show is that still this is that marss it's still going still going

yes I just assumed that it had been revealed as a scam and they had stopped bothering to try and convince anybody it was happening still going huh all right but I just think the people who they've gotten their short list are sort of I think they at a wrong age right you think they need some young on Young Blood I think they need probably they need people sort of older they need some todders so that by the time they're old enough time they need some people that uh by the time they launch this will be like sexy late teens early 20s right right for for reality TV show yeah yeah well I think the reality TV show isn't for when they leave reality TV show is for now where is it then they're just filming the show I don't know where they're filming it in

simulation Outpost Alpha yes pretty much and they're going to try and get people together and then vote people off and then whoever's left is the final crew type of thing oh okay yeah I think I think if you are planning the first ever man mission to another planet in our solar system the way you want to choose your crew is reality TV show elimination a big popularity contest yeah yeah who's the sexiest yeah yeah no I just really think the person if they're going in 10 years the person they should be picking should probably be around our age and should live somewhere around your house yeah yeah yeah like 35 it gives me

10 years to train I won't train but I've got 10 years to put it off M yeah procrastinate and then I'll go that's fair as long as I can play Xbox there I'll be fine you'll be on Mars playing Mass Effect Andromeda yep just I just like to pretend that I'm exploring the Galaxy you know while I'm here on Mars locked in my bedroom I did all start on M don't see the problem with that at all cuz I still assume I'll be able to download games we've discussed before there's faster internet on the moon than there is in Australia yeah yeah they just beam the games to you I'm not expecting to play online against people I just assume I'll be able to I I don't know what the time difference is between Earth and Mars I think it's

quite a few minutes I reckon I reckon Phil Duke would figure that out for us yeah Phil if you could figure out if Luke is playing his Xbox on Mars online when do we need to be up to play with actually more importantly right at the we record this at the moment it was 8:30 in Singapore MH uh it was 8:30 a.m. here in in Rhode Island and it was what time was it there when we started Luke 11:30 11:30 p.m. in CRA p.m. p.m. what time is it on MAR yeah what time is is are we going to have to get Luke out of bed on Mars to record this podcast I guess it doesn't really bother me what time I get up to do it cuz I'll just not like I have to get up for work or anything imagine the

lag oh yeah I think that might be that might be a bit difficult yeah you s of ask me a question then discuss something for however a long hour and then I'll come back with an answer oh yeah I mean I mean a year on Mars is something like 6 700 Earth days right M yeah but that's only cuz it spins slower it's not but but Sur time's not actually different there it's not like um Interstellar I don't know man I don't [Laughter] know Luke goes there and then all of a sudden he's like we're old men like we start the show in our 40s and then all of a sudden we're we just die yeah Luke picks it up and we are we are just very old men yeah hello yeah just still waiting to play Mass Effect yeah I would have finished it still just watching Avatar sequels they ever coming out apparently

they're filming him they're ever going to be filmed they're filming all all I keep hearing is they're making 15 more of them he's doing huge story he's filming them all this year which means uh cuz he doesn't film them he just does motion capture so apparently he's doing motion capture for all of them yeah he doesn't even call it filming he calls it collecting data yeah he's going to do that in case there was any romance left in film making that's right and then he's going to make them over the next 100 years okay cuz so something is happening something apparently did you guys see that Rolex ad that he's in no it's pretty awesome it's James Cameron walking through like uh like an old Sound Stage that houses all the props from his movies oh cool and he's just
