welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy okay so I've got a question for you mhmh okay this is something that I don't know it's I caught it on the television show I forget what it was it was a joke about the toilet seat being up and down okay right what don't think I've never understood what I have always done is I always put the lid down yeah I do that too actually yeah of course so that way everyone in the house has to lift it no matter what yeah don't make it about either of you just shut the damn toilet and then everyone [ __ ] close it I mean there's a I assume there's a reason that there's a lid on

it right yeah yeah so the poop doesn't crawl out and get you in the night exactly nobody wants that so yeah I just had to I had to check with you guys cuz I don't know it just got stuck in my head and I wanted to discuss it well I I make that joke but I think I mean there is a when you flush it right you want it to be closed don't you cuz there's the danger that that's going to kind of Splash out of there and I don't want that the hell are you doing you get the toilet no no no no no I'm going to have to side with Matt on this one it's called it's called Uh microorganisms and it's I don't want them yeah I mean I don't consciously think about this every time I do it but I I was just like why would I do yeah like you close the lid before you flush it and then you don't

have to worry about anything you know when it flushes spraying all that water around in there you fridge get food out close the fridge I don't just go well the food's out now so the fridge may as well stay open I might want to poop in the fridge again I better leave it I mean I don't know I don't know what point Luke's trying to make here but well I wasn't really making any point I was just talking the other thing I can't understand why people do either and then this is guys I'm assuming women don't do this be [ __ ] weird if they did is they get in there and they're like oh seats down oh I guess I'll just piss on it like put the [ __ ] seat up yeah but not only that the reverse is also true you're talking about public toilets at the

moment this actually happens to be at work a lot I'll walk in there someone's pissing on you pillow just pissed on the seat I don't understand it what's wrong with you just put to seat up what I have never understood is why women refuse to put the toilet seat down like if you've got such a problem with your husband putting it up why don't you just put it down don't think they refuse no I'm going to fall in I just don't understand why it's even a thing yeah I know no cuz like even if you have to put it down that the female has put it down every time the male has to put it up every time everyone open it everyone close it [ __ ] story and then literally no one ever needs to have this convers ever again that's what I like about that's what I like about the the close

the lid thing right everybody's got to do it that way Y and that way it's not it's not about you it's not about him or her it's just just [ __ ] just go to the toilet and shut up believe we've been talking about this for so long [Laughter] already sorry oh by the way I'm back yeah Luke's back you survived yeah managed to New York I was all set to record I even woke up up early and then the internet died you survived in New York unsupervised for what two weeks I don't know how I did that I don't either I'll be honest like when we were there when I gave the speech at Dan's movie and I I don't remember anything after the movie and I got home Sur surprised you remember giving the speech quite honestly no one told me to stop I gave everyone a chance

when we were there I was worried about you and then there was like more time that we weren't there so I was like God knows what he's gotten up to I drank so much that day yeah we know cuz the rest of us weren't drinking that much oh really really oh so uh before we move on from this topic right I would just like to read out to the listeners an SMS that that Matt and I received from Luke during the week while he was in New York and we were already home okay so this is uh this is at 7:42 a.m. uh out of the [ __ ] blue just had an interaction with the police here an interesting one uh I should have not said anything yet as my phone is going

to die and I can't talk about it I'll give you a hint though there was lots of alcohol involved and an exposed penis and then he just left it at that for several hours yeah radio silence for several hours so you want to fill us the [ __ ] in buddy okay that uh it was not my penis okay let's get way been drinking I went well now your story's Fallen apart no but there was still lots of alcohol and an exposed penis okay I went to Six Flags mhm and and on the way back I forget what town I was in but I was waiting for the bus to go back to New York mhm well I'm there there is this super drunk guy standing there yeah you holding his pants up not

me he's standing there swaying and swaying he's pin drop at one stage and there's penis right I'm going to look the other way mhm did you say that at the time when the pants dropped I just penis there's penis he did manage to readjust himself pull the pants back off will Apple allow us uh to to have the name of this podcast be there's penis on iTunes yeah all right he then um passes out drops the pants passes out and falls over I [Laughter] fell what did you do Luke this is this is the worst thing about what happened was everyone just ignored it not you I walked inside to the owner of the shop and went went hey uh

someone's just passed out you might want to call someone and he goes uh drunks they happen all the time don't worry about it the cops will be go past at some point and okay I walk back out and then a a cop droves past and I flagged them down and I go you might want to look at him you flag down you went there's penis yeah look but don't touch officer he doesn't like it I'm feeling tempted yeah can I be charged with that was the story thought [Laughter] crime all right so the man did the man get very leading with that message I sent you and I wanted to make out that you thought I was in trouble but no you wanted to make out I'm just going to take that one bit okay so uh followup

question for me what did the cops do did they did they tuck the penis back into his pants um they tried to get him to pull his pants up but then they just WRA something over him and then my bus pulled up I went good luck with that and I left did they put a little set of handcuffs on his penis handcuff yeah penis cuff I guess not while I was there all right and my other question um was he or was he not circumcised well let let me rephrase let me rephrase could you or could you not dock with him I could have docked with him could have interesting should I would I did I well everyone was the other way so I could have yeah that's the only reason you didn't it's actually quite depressing that everyone just ignored it they're used to it

mate but okay I have I get very very drunk right yep go on confirmed I have never been that drunk that I can't keep my pants up and I pass out in the street that you know of well yeah that you know of too Matt you've done some pretty ridiculous things well drunk yeah I know I have actually hey I always wake up where I'm meant to yeah that's true yeah I do that I just also do stupid things I'm more likely to just say stupid things than do stupid things I get blackout drunk now I thought I thought you just finished telling us that you don't get blackout drunk no no no I just don't get that drunk that I pass out and my pants F out right you just get so drunk that you can't remember whole periods of time

where that may or may not have happened used to happen I always used to remember but I think because I don't drink as much anymore when you remember this man drunk lying in New Jersey with his dick out do you remember it more like a hazy memory like a dream or does it feel like you're looking at the man or you're looking from the man yeah yeah no I'm quite positive I was not that drunk man in New Jersey all right I so specific about that wasn't he I did not drink in New Jersey my yeah that was gonna be is awesome you must go yeah I've been to uh I've been to there's a couple of them I've been to one it's not the one in you've been to one flag one flag right Luke's been to six I think he wins if

you love roller coasters that's the place to go mhm yeah it's pretty good hey that was just the the closest theme park that was open and I like theme parks Right theme parks here pretty good no theme parks in New York I guess where would you put one exactly it's con Island but but it was like an hour bus trip like it's not a not really out of your way like with an hour but it was so great because I get to walk onto the lines quickly and I get to go another R oh yeah did you get the [ __ ] pass again I get the [ __ ] pass not bad I get my motorized scooter and I just cruise around that's a little better than what we got at the uh Museum of Natural History yeah you had to push me yeah I had to push you which is normally fine right but museums are a difficult place

to push a wheelchair around right they just they just by Design quite difficult I also think because that place was built a long time ago before they cared about wheelchairs true but it looks like they have made some effort by installing some wheelchair access right but the amount of times I pushed you up a ramp only to them realize that I was confronted with a set of stairs and had to just turn around and go back down the ramp it was so weird it happened so many times that's how the disabled people get access to the stairs Dan right exactly that's equal opportunities that's right look while we're talking about American stuff sort of a segue from from this into a few other things uh we've got a couple of alomo Draft House news articles today

right it seems to just be something that just recurs in the news at the moment so yeah well it's a top Cinema yeah what uh what state would that be in Matt that's in Texas in Texas right yeah just a small one of the small states is it that's right yeah it's the state I think the slogan is Where everything's tiny yeah yeah been there Luke uh no I haven't been there yet surprising I would just like to point out Western Australia is bigger yeah but it's not in America yeah Western Australia is bigger than a lot of things yeah that's true yeah um I would recommend you visit Texas Texas is fun I want to I want to go to Austin you should Austin in Austin weird the first time that we traveled to La Together Matt we went into a Cowboy Bar and were treated like some kind of

[ __ ] visiting Heroes right given free drinks just because we're Australian I assume Texas is like one big Cowboy Bar oh that's actually never happened to me again so I don't know what you know I still have an accent so you re that guy was just a bit of a puffer do you yeah I don't know I don't know what's going on there I mean people are nice but but uh no the Texas is just uh good like the food's really good uh Austin in particular is really got some really cool uh places really cool stuff to do yeah it's great well the first bit of Alamo Draft House news this week and unless unless you're planning on doing an Alan mod Draft House news jingle Matt I'm just um I'll just check with you first no you know unless we can justify reuse of these things I prefer not to

agreed to pay the $17.31 they uh they met up at the Elmo Draft House she handed him the money and said just leave me alone um I sort of don't blame her yeah this guy dick hon go to the trouble of doing it it's yeah it's not easy to take someone that claims cord is it I think it' end up costing you more than $17 31 yeah but I say I think this guy is just an attention-seeking idiot like yeah oh he actually claimed she was a threat to civilized society that's yeah's I mean that's that's funny when you do it online with your friends yeah he went he went to when you say

that on Twitter as a joke when you they' actually uh they've actually she's posted the uh the actual text message that he sent her oh yeah now so straight after because obviously she checked a text message and he was like why don't you [ __ ] off outside with that that's not a quote but uh we said why you do that in a Lobby or something like that what he said yeah and she was like well this Tinder date is not really going anywhere so I might just take myself off home so he immediately sent her this text I've got to find my own ride home because I told you your phone was distracting me so uh yeah I mean okay you could have finding your own way home you're a big boy but anyway the next afternoon at 2:19 p.m. so he's been stewing on this for quite a while he

sent this quote Crystal your behavior Saturday was not only rude but it cost me money I want you to compensate me for the $17 movie ticket and the $4 Pizza will you do this or do I have to pursue the money in the small claims court I can file online right now from my laptop and I'm willing to do so your behavior was wildly out of line and I'm happy to pursue putting you on the books for it this guys's a [ __ ] yeah so yeah I think his so not only is he crazy on the internet he's just crazy yeah because I mean look we've all spoken on this podcast about how annoying it is when people [ __ ] text message from a movie cinema no one is denying it's an annoying habit right yeah so this you

know sure it's a first dat she did that you're probably not going to get along don't ask her out again in fact go as far as saying to your friends mate I was with this [ __ ] troll up last night [ __ ] texting during the movie right can you believe that right slag her off all you [ __ ] like buddy yeah I'll go on Facebook and say oh I'm not taking a small claims court cuz she's a menace to society and then all your friends will be like you should do that but you shouldn't do that yeah you shouldn't actually file a lawsuit for $17.31 just to prove a [ __ ] point to a woman don't just text her and threaten to do it cuz that's not funny cuz no one's going to see it that just makes you douchebag it's just weird putting on Twitter would be funny saying that's it you want to make

a little joke out of it that's fine but like if it's just in the article there's a poll down the bottom is it ever okay to text in the cinema the answers are no how idiotic can you get and then yes but go to the damn foer that's I know they're both correct but that's not what the the question they're both valid the question that answers don't mes the question yes yeah well yeah yes but go to the employ means you're not texting there yep good were you still in a cinema don't do it Luke I will I will take you to small claims court luk excuse me I send you guys pictures all the time when I'm at the movies yeah but you don't do it while the movies on yeah I do cuz I've seen you pictures of

to and uh that's fine yeah he gives a [ __ ] and then people are getting real mad about it cuz yeah I mean you say people are getting mad just [ __ ] with on the internet having a go the internet's getting mad I know one one of the things was well how many guys only things have you done well organize one yeah yeah exactly like you go go hey could I have a GU only movie for the new Superman movie they're going to go you SLE tickets sure yeah everyone's wives and girlfriends will be like oh I [ __ ] hate those movies anyway no wores yeah that's right yeah it's it's it's called every Fast and the Furious movie session ever yeah yeah who cares whatever people are really mad I I mean yeah I get it you know it's yeah it's sexist yeah yada y whatever oh sorry

reaching and that's who we're going it's got some girl secrets in it right it's got some stuff we don't want you to know it's you know yeah it actually shows what actually happens when they go through the toilets in yeah you're embargoed from Wonder Woman damn it sorry I was interested actually in watching it I'm interested I'm interested I'm very interested I'm a little I saw when we were gun the Galaxy 4D the trailer was not very promis I know it's so good uh no you're right though Luke the trailer the trailer is pretty [ __ ] it's it's pretty [ __ ] uh and I it's so weird cuz I went a whole series trailer and then at the end I thrw in a little going to be spoilers all right so your how long has alien Covenant been bear in

mind it's actually only been out like a week here that's that's that's long enough we might need to uh to to notify Luke how long it's been in the various countries where we distribute this podcast because you got it uh like a week early I think in Australia all right let me I will go and have a look right now cuz you get week is long enough all right all right so we're going to talk about alien in Covenant spoilers is what you're saying like yes all right should we at least give people an idea of whether they should bother going to see it before we do the spoilers or not you just want to go all in it's been it's been a few weeks now and we we teased it at last week so I think we should all right point out it's only been a week here so a week is loged

up all right all right it's your decision you're the you're the Arbiter of of these rules wait for DVD no don't wait for DVD Blu-ray at least yeah just wait for the crystal Cube wait for the crystal Cube okay so I think we're g I'm going to jump into it now all right all right you people have been warned I think we're missing a movie well you are it's the movie that Bridges this one in Alien yeah no but that that is coming no no I know that's coming but I also think I'm missing something between Prometheus and Covenant why they just skimmed over quite a bit yeah I know what you mean a lot had changed since then and they just kind of explained it away is that what you mean yeah like you wanted to see a little bit of a crash landing for

example etc etc learning to adapt well they showed you what happened yeah but like with David actually there's more stuff in the uh you may not know about this on on YouTube and I guess on various places they distributed prequel stuff like little sorry not prequel stuff but little uh lead-ins to alien Covenant that showed for example spoilers uh I already knew that David had destroyed the engineers uh and you get to see Elizabeth Shaw as well I also think it's crap that they just kill her off yeah well I mean they didn't just kill her off they served a purpose the purpose was how the [ __ ] can we quickly get to the alien cuz apparently that's what people wanted to see after but it wasn't I agree I agree I uh I I

don't like this very much unfortunately yeah I wondered if you did I wondered I was sitting in the cinema things were happening and I was thinking but Matt's not on board for this I wasn't I was on board for some of it oh yeah I was on board for some of it yeah just uh I don't know just overall very predictable it was basically uh the first alien except the wrong way around where the stuff on the planet took forever and and there was some interesting stuff in dispersed but then it was like all right we got to get that alien up under the ship and then they're like all it's up on the ship and they killed it let's go like and I mean Fair we've already seen alien but then why do why have that at all but like the engineers and

everything they're just completely written off whereas the end of Prometheus they're off to find them well I wondered if that's because people response to Prometheus not from us obviously I [ __ ] love Prometheus and I think that's the other thing that made this disappointing was that I felt like they did away with a lot of the stuff that I liked about Prometheus they were just like oh people didn't get it all right fine like we'll go back to just get the aliens in there the the oh this is a pep peeve of mine they're not called Xenomorphs right yeah and this is not anybody in particular fault I suppose cuz they put it on the freaking toys and stuff now I think like everyone calls them that like xenomorph is just a term for an alien any alien no no no no

that's been part of the books and everything for a long time because yes because somebody misinterpreted what was being said in the films so as far as I'm concerned they're not called that so sorry no that that's just you they are Zen them off no they're actually sorry that they're not they are no they are no yep read the books they are that's not was what was intended well I'd like to put out there that for there to be a species called the xenomorph right and I'm not weighing in on either side here but for there to be a species called that there needs to be an actual species right yeah but that's not what we've seen because in the second alien movie Aliens right aptly titled from the 80s uh there was a big [ __ ] Queen who was laying these

things right yeah it doesn't make any sense with what they've done now I'm s how that's going to pan out um what happens with um I know they were terrible movies but what happens with aliens vers Predator now oh they don't count well that's the other thing too and uh because I saw someone else saying uh that that question about the the queen and that got brought up but Ry Scott doesn't include aliens either no he only includes the ones as cannon that that he was involved with and that's what that's the other thing that makes these so confusing right cuz well in this they're not called Xenomorphs at all in fact that word has doesn't get used in Alien the first one and it's not going to get used in these probably because Ridley Scott does not give a

[ __ ] about aliens onwards he doesn't they are not included in uh in this world I can understand skipping a couple of them well so can I but I think it's going to confuse people but and and then eventually it's going to suck because he's going to he's going to be like nope nope nope and then at some point they're going to be like people are really confused rley you need to you need to put some of this stuff in there which is what I feel like happened with this cuz here's the thing I mean I love Prometheus I thought it was a great movie really well crafted but I was slightly disappointed that it didn't

turn out to be the preal to alien that it was advertised to be and not because I thought that would have made a better movie but because that's what I went in there expecting and then there were a lot of didn't because Ridley Scott had said of times in in press stuff beforehand this is not a prequel to alien it's just the thing set in the same world the same universe yeah and so yeah but you say that but it was clearly based on a script that was a prequel to alien and they just changed it enough so it wasn't anymore yeah but all these little signifiers were still there oh this is that's the ship that's the space jocky but we're not on the same Planet so how can that be oh it's just different it's a coincidence that crash landed in the exact same way yeah you

know yeah you're right there a lot of opportunities there I think they had this you have that right this underlying thing where it's it's a prequel to alien but then it had all this other stuff that I guess they kind of must they they must have smooshed two scripts together right right one of them was an Alien prequel the other one was an interesting story about the creation of the human race by aliens right and I loved all that and then now they've gotten rid of it that's the bit the bit that made the the stuff I didn't like in Prometheus palatable was the stuff with the engineers and uh you know all that stuff and then even like uh Shaw's stuff where she was she was religious despite you know evidence to the contrary and and they kind of made a thing out of it it

was interesting whereas in this they've got like oh we got to carry that theme on Captain's religious is that going to come up nah why is he religious doesn't make any sense sort of just cramed that in his religious yeah I felt like they nothing they took all the stuff that I liked about Prometheus and got rid of that and then just left this the the bits that I didn't like I tried to warn you it's it's nothing like Prometheus I mean and it's very much like alien the first one which I love but but it just doesn't it is because the thing about alien is that you there's one alien it's you don't know where it came from you don't know anything about it uh what does it want who knows uh it's it's like scary it's tense like there was no tension or

anything in this it was like a more of an action movie yeah but the aliens they weren't the antagonist David was the antagonist in this movie yeah I suppose I mean fast Bender was good in this as always but yeah fast Bender fights fast Bender fast Bender Fender kisses fast Bender yeah you know yep wouldn't say no can I just say though some of the alien effects in this were [ __ ] amazing like really mate we've seen you know we've seen [ __ ] alien burst out of somebody's chest yeah that was [ __ ] terrifying but now I've seen a guy with no shirt on [ __ ] convulsing not know what's going on and have a [ __ ] alien tear itself out of his [ __ ] spine yeah oh yeah I was [ __ ] terrified while that was happening in

front of me but why is that how how since when does that happen it can come out of here any way it just come and then but but that's not even how it works no Matt there's no rules none of them are the same animals exactly just I don't know it's just all the rules are out they're making this [ __ ] up as they go now cuz remember David was breeding and creating that perfect one but the one that he was infected in that was just some random thing that yeah it was those little spores that happened to be everywhere that were like cuz that's not even how that stuff worked in Prometheus like you got infected and then the only reason that there was another creature was because uh what's his name slept with Dr Shaw and impregnated her with an alien

like they it didn't make an alien come out of you the goo the black stuff didn't make the Alien come out of you that was like a mutation did create life though no no it didn't it was just that was the way was it mutated and that just that's the way it mutated this time like you can explain that way well that's okay but I'm saying that's not how it worked in Prometheus in Prometheus it broke down your you know biological chemistry and destroyed you basically and then no no they actually David did explain it though in this he explained it yes not in promethus that's what I'm saying it's different now they changed it and it doesn't really so they gave him the alien I know there's also a couple of other little inconsistencies in this one too

uh the face hugger um which I like the first face hugger that we saw actually uh deflated like a balloon when it shot its wad into that guy's mouth right I mean let's let's let's call a spade a spade here the second face hugger that we saw I'm trying to keep it vague here it uh it withdrew before ejaculation seemingly because the same deflation didn't happen to it and yet later on there's a reveal that oh No in fact sometimes it can pre-ejaculate it just gets them in there ASAP and then it just hangs out on your face for a while I [Laughter] guess yeah well you could argue actually uh you know what I'm going to do their

work for them the reason that it stayed on Kane's face for so long was because it had to keep him alive because he would have died in the atmosphere on LV 426 whereas in this that was not a concern there you go just ji it for you yeah all right Matt okay whose side are you on I'm no I'm good at this no uh that uh the chest burster in this looks stupid by the way but no even the way the alien came out it came out as the alien right it didn't look like a chest burster from from Alien like it's supposed to have a tail and like didn't even look like a chest burster from worm thing that's right yeah exactly they look different before and this it came out as like just a little little tiny alien that did that like wanted to give David a

hug which and it was a nice moment but I was kind of like distracted by the fact I'm like what the [ __ ] I thought this was I thought these were the aliens like I I really want to know what happened with sort of David a little bit more yeah he kind kill the engineers his motivation is very different in this seemingly cuz in in Prometheus I mean correct me wrong he is fascinated by the the the goo and uh and then you know to the detriment of the crew but in this he's just like evil sort of and that's why I think like that's why I'm think like we're missing a movie like there's something happened well he got his head torn off and then magically just got a new up body that's perfect cuz Shaw knows exactly how to do that yeah yeah just

reattached him and repaired him oh one thing I loved at one stage they actually make a point of asking for an axe yeah I immediately thought of space ax that's right yeah the one thing people complained about for no reason why is she ax it's funny where did she get the axe why did he build anywhere why did he make a little grave for Dr Shaw if there was no one around why did he make a fake grave when he still had a body in the other room cuz he loved her no he didn't that was a lie that was confusing he I think he I think he did love her I think but it's he brutally killed her but he didn't not to him though to him it wasn't brutal to him his research was more important than his

love Yeah his search was justified I just wish we would have got the cuz now the engineers are just gone we're not like that thread's not going to be following well no they have to come back well no it won't because alien one comes out of an engineer that's true well exactly so now it's even more confusing yeah I mean if he [ __ ] manages to wrap all this [ __ ] up yeah like there has to be another engineer out there somewhere if he manages to wrap all this [ __ ] up in a convincing manner then that's that's great but like like go Ridley but at the moment I'm like you've just made a mess buddy yeah I just wish he had maybe stuck with the original thing and just playing in the same universe yeah yeah but that's

people complained about it I guess I like uh I just wish we would have seen more of the engineers like she was going to go and speak to them and then that just never got to happen and he just it was like he just wiped him out and then it was like all right cool there you go Prometheus done let's get to the alien yeah it's like The Walking Dead the first 15 minutes are wrapping up the last Cliffhanger and then just new story yep all right reboot They're All Dead let's go I really do think they wasted the opportunity of being on the uh the engineered home planet and yeah yeah and I and I really didn't like the way they even did that flashback there was something just really unsatisfying about

that from a story line but also just I don't know just something was wrong the way they were dressed and way they just everything about it was like it it was like Ridley couldn't come back to do the sequel to Prometheus so they just got some other big great guide it and even just like the the the Prometheus had this kind of EX exploratory thing to it where they're like they land on this planet and they're like what's that in the distance and they go and they discover and you kind of they reveal these things to you you know like the pardon me the do's got the little face at the top and it's kind of like feels like you're discovering things in this it was like David's like come this way and they find the spaceship and it's like cut to the sh of the spaceship

what's that oh it's a spaceship oh that's weird and they go in and then like there's no reveal of anything and then and then David's like come this way and it's like oh and then they're just walking through the ruins and it's like are we going anyone going to address the fact that you're in [ __ ] alien Civilization now and then person going to say who built this Danny McBride flies in the thing at the end right he hasn't seen any of this stuff and he's like start the beacon she starts the beacon he flies in he goes oh were you in that uh you're in that ancient city are you all right cool like doesn't address it well look at when they when they're flying in and Landing all you see is jungle around them yeah not this city they they follow David that city is

massive yeah how did they miss that when they were flying in and they can see for hundred hundreds of kilometers and the other thing that bugged me they were able to walk to it the other thing that bugged me was I had no sense of geography M like at all I didn't know where anything was like I don't know it's like someone they're all together someone would leave and it's like oh they went to a place that I don't have any idea where it is in relation to anybody else you know yeah okay two things to build onto that one they get there and the beacon says oh yeah it's near here but at a considerable altitude and you're like [ __ ] I mean they're on a very mountainous planet right they're never going to get to that cut to them walking up a slight incline into a cave

right yeah number two a woman is screaming you all need to come back now right cut to some people walking along at a [ __ ] what I would call a leisurely Pace back we're going as fast as we can and and as you said Matt they hadn't actually established how far from their craft this crashed ship was so we didn't know whether or not they had a chance to get there because obviously it's more thrilling for the audence to think they could get there if only they hurried but they're not or they're probably never going to get there but run as fast as you can because it's worth trying we got neither also I felt like it was a bit unbelievable you know like they're down stuck on the planet something's wrong

theyve get communication up with with the ship Danny McBride finds out his wife's Dead all right well see you guys later then yeah yeah like I would he would have been he was concerned about his wife found out his wife was dead I would have been like well [ __ ] yeah what did you I don't know what you got up to down there one thing I found a little bit weird about the crew that um I understand like they're trying to make out that yeah they're flying out to some new planet to colonize and everything but I don't get everyone was married in a couple in the crew which that just seems wrong to me I think they should have left his wife as one of the people who was alive towards the end and it would have made more

sense that he was he was was still so determined to get down there and rescue them cuz he agree because here's the thing if if you're going to another [ __ ] Galaxy to live right I mean you you take your [ __ ] wife or girlfriend with you right like you don't so it makes sense to me that everyone there is either single or their significant other is on that ship too yeah fair point I would go on the ship but Frozen asleep correct well no I the the danger with that is right if they something goes wrong they're the crew right so they can be woken up right if you get woken up and then your partner is still in the you know in with the colonists then how many years is that you're going to be separated like it does make sense for them to be all together you know but

okay but what happened first was it okay guys look around you everyone pick a wife because it's better it's better if everybody or was it just like okay you've come to the interview yep and you're coming for the role of uh yeah pilot y okay so your wife needs to either be a navigator or do you know what I mean like work I think it was just lazy script writing to try and create emotional attachment between the characters I think unfortunately a lot of this was yeah you're right and here's the other thing too you hit the nail on the head right so alien the first film right had very small amount of characters so you could get to know everybody very well and then theyed number twoods but they every specialities

everyone's got really specific reactions and and all this so that you could kind of follow it along this one I'm like [ __ ] why are there so many people and why are there suddenly a whole bunch more people cuz they woke everyone up and everyone's right this is the crew and then they go out to the planet oh by the way here's 20 more guys oh yeah right you know what I mean suddenly there's a scouting party that's also awake and like none of them are particularly interesting no that's what I mean it like name one character from that Hunting Party name one character's name oh like not Daniels CU she's the main character we hear right because it's a weird name yeah he's not Cole on my name Deb still [ __ ] you that doesn't count okay now now name

a character from [ __ ] aliens from the Dallas yeah go on another one uh bet you could name them all yeah exactly we could name them all if we said you did it yeah yeah you're right it's just getting good reviews though like especially comparatively don't get me wrong I also enjoyed watching it I'll put this out there it was just so slow I had a good cinema experience I wasn't bored and there was a lot that I enjoyed in it it's just that overall I was like I don't think I I definitely didn't like it as much as Prometheus no no no no no but it still had some good stuff that I enjoyed watching one thing that bugged me you know people complained about at the end of Prometheus when the ship rolls and crushes shal they on cuz she

not she didn't how to run side she doesn't have peripheral vision yeah and then but then at the end of this uh when she's got the crane why does the alien run into the claw yes like it runs right into it like it that I was like well that's equivalent surely like what Ridley what are you doing like nothing no creatures just can't see to the side in Ridley Scot films maybe Ridley doesn't have peripheral vision maybe he doesn't he's like I got to go through that thing yeah that was just that bugged me a bit have either of you guys seen passengers no yes I watched it on the plane I watched it on the plane too Luke did you kind of in the back of your mind think that passengers was happening on this ship but just years in the past

no but now I am yeah like it's exactly the same premise just without the aliens yeah two people wake up on a ship full of uh people that should be in stasis for another 900 years oh okay I I was interested to watch that although I heard that it's uh there's some drama about it being kind of creepy Chris Pratt's character being creepy and I was like well that's fine yeah that's that's the whole point of it but uh actually I I can understand like when you first hear about it it's about a guy his pod wakes up and then he he's going to die and then so he decides to sentence someone else to death by waking them up oh okay yeah okay that's where it's the creepy part but when you actually watch it you sort of but it's not like they

gloss over that in the movie in the movie she's like you're a [ __ ] [ __ ] but he basically he did it to keep himself alive cuz he was going crazy being all right all right that's not about that cuz Luke doesn't give a [ __ ] about spoil that mov a while but I'll just preface this by saying uh it's not a science fiction movie it's it's a it's a romance movie in space oh all right yeah now I did I did enjoy it but I want to say one more thing about alien Covenant uh and again sounds like I'm I'm bragging on a lot it's just because because I like these movies so much and particularly I lik Prometheus so I'm a little disappointed in this but how did

okay so we had the fake out which everybody must have seen coming a mile away where it was David and not Walter at the end right yeah yeah as soon as you didn't see what happened you knew that David was the one that survived right everybody y that was and also kind of from early on you figured that was probably going to happen at some point I assume but then so so David clearly kills Walter changes his clothes fixes his hair look the same runs back somehow finds those little containers to put put some face hugger embryos in like the same containers that the human embos were in in the colony ship yes he had to take a pretty educated guess of what kind of Petri dishes they had so he could SW SW swallowed those and then I rushed out

seconds later to get on the ship like I was like wait a minute how the what no he didn't have time for all that oh also you had to cut his hand off as well yeah exactly he had to cut his hand off and uh and like again he had no way of knowing that that that he didn't have time you know or at least I don't think I'd have to watch it again like unless he like pre swallowed all that stuff but again how did he know what to put him in and they they live in eggs they're not like they don't have little embryos like that I mean they they do and they don't but how's he going to grow them then to be in the egg don't they oh don't know so many questions no answers no

answers I don't think we're really going to get them they explained what the black stuff does I guess but we already knew cuz you you could see it doing it all right let's talk about something [Laughter] else you want to talk about some video games sure what have you been playing well on a I guess related somewhat note I've been playing prey uh which is religious yet no I thought it was I was disappointed it's not not at all it's uh it's uh I'm trying to think how I can explain it without spoiling anything but it's uh it's like Bioshock on a spaceship with uh where you don't really know what's going on and it's good

okay well I will play that because that sounds good it's kind of like Bioshock mixed with uh the old like you remember System Shock uh CU it's you know it's in space yeah and you're basically you're making your way around a spaceship um trying to figure out what the [ __ ] is going on and there's these weird aliens that some of them can like mimic objects so you don't know that they're there and they'll jump out and scare the [ __ ] out of you it's kind of annoying sometimes but actually pretty pretty good cuz like there'll be like a can on the floor and you're like oh there a can and then it'll just be like nope it's an alien great now when I play I'm going to be looking out for cans everywhere you're going to have to you're going to have to look out for

everything anything or like there'll be like a dead body and then a gun next to it and you're like oh go grab that gun and then it's like Bo nope the gun is an alien yep it's pretty yeah there's been a couple times where they scared the [ __ ] out of me uh and then there are more powerful larger aliens around as well um and the thing I like about it is that you can't just it's not like a shooter you can't just run around and kill things you will be destroyed you have to take your time you have to find Clues you have to uh explore you have to you know you interact with terminals to discover what's going on uh and you can hack things it's so far it's really good yeah it's sort of it it's not a

sequel no I remember pray on the 360 yeah I didn't play that but as far as I can tell it's got very to do with it possibly it's set in the same universe but it does yeah it doesn't seem too related well it certainly looks good but uh it is I recommend it all I've been playing this week is Thimble weed park that's just keeps on giving I've completed it on casual mode ah and uh now I'm Keen to try it on uh whatever the other mode is Hardcore or standard or whatever I I kind of wish I'd just done it standard like the first time cuz what are you playing I didn't even realize there were to be honest if it prompted me I uh I would have just chosen the middle of the range one I guess no there's

there was two there was at the at the beginning it pops up and it's say one one one's like I'm I'm new to adventure games and one's like I'm an old Pro yeah except it says they recommend either way you do it casual first I don't know so I don't know why I did I feel like I shouldn't have I should have just played it you know the you know I can't even remember but some of the puzzles are quite challenging yeah I'm not finding it super duper easy sometimes I got to really wander around for a bit before I think of something else to do yeah what are you playing it on uh steam okay on the laptop oh yeah cuz it's on Xbox I was curious actually if one of you gets it on that how does it play well it's an Xbox play Anywhere

title so I'm probably going to buy it on the Xbox and still play it on the PC all right cuz I'm curious about the controls I mean I curious about the controls too you move the pointer around with the stick probably but that sounds annoying I know it sounds very annoying I've played a few games like that you it's it's you get used to it but it's annoying enough playing with a TR is so much easier yeah yeah I played actually played it almost entirely with a trackpad yeah same but I'm used to playing this kind of game with a mouse yes of course uh I'm not I'm not completed it yet I feel I'm probably quite quite near the end so H for some

reason when I got back from New York I just started playing Forza 3 Forza Horizon 3 the Hot Wheels the Hot Wheels sing and then I finished the Hot Wheel sing and then I've just been driving a lot of driving I don't know why well we uh we have a new segment that we've was suggested by uh by listener Dary uh I don't know if you've seen this in there Luke this is a new segment particularly involving you called achievement cter where you need to tell us your achievements for the week mhm the achievements that you got this week and we're going to determine whether they were worth the time you spent getting them so uh you don't have to go through all of them I suppose but uh what were the what's some of the highlights for

you this week achievement achievement wise because you get one every day for the listeners who don't know every day Luke Luke requires that he get to an achievement okay so this week was what every day for I think 757 days now yeah impressive uh one I got this week is this is Forza in Forza Horizon 3 okay it was to create and complete a championship with 100 plus miles over 10 events that took me um over an hour to do and it's worth 20 gamer score okay uh what else was there I'm just getting the list open now um there

was playing a little bit of Lego go undercover yep um probably ah I know these roads in Forza again drive down every Road in Australia what took forever very specific in the in the map you're actually in for of horizon you're three you're actually in Queensland right okay there's more to Australia than just Queensland though yeah exactly I know but yeah you have to drive down 488 roads say not every Road in Australia cuz when you said that I was like wait what yeah did you drive down McKay Drive in Silverdale I'm just reading the exact wording of the achievement so all the roads that they have in the game in

Australia yes yeah okay um I just got an achievement today in Mafia 3 for earning $500,000 okay baby you're a rich man well these are less silly than some that I know you've gotten in the past yeah I've just been I've been playing silly games this week I've just been getting an achievement every day and actually playing games all right not just playing to get an achievement are we going to give a pass give a pass on these this week Dan you feel these yeah look I mean look I mean despite the Queensland of barkle I think uh I think he's probably probably deserving of these achievements yeah these these all sound like they were worth the time okay I have a question what game should I play to get to cuz I'm going to

hit 400,000 soon for a gamer score yeah what game should I play to get to that number oh what's going to be the 400,000 score game or or achievement specifically um I'm 985 points away from here's the problem so anything I can suggest you've probably already played so I don't know I stopped buying games probably a month or two ago to start trying to have money for New York is my horse prins on Xbox it is not that's a shame wait is it on Windows phone though no no you Window Phone well all right we uh we'll need to have a think have a thing cuz I don't know if I'm going to rush to it or if
