enough time it's Justice League spoiler episode if they can be such a thing and to be clear I'm not saying that Batman is the [ __ ] character in the Justice League I'm saying that the new Batman movie I.E the Justice League is the shittest superhero movie of the year uh I don't know about that [ __ ] what was a worst superhero movie this year Wonder Woman was that this year okay they're on par of me they're equal absolutely Equal justice league was not better than no Wonder Woman's not on the same level worse than jce League it was no worse it was worse no better and no worse in my opin Justice League was better than Wonder Woman No I certainly enjoyed Justice League more than Wonder Woman but I didn't really enjoy it that much I know yes I I agree I didn't hate

it as much as I hated Wonder Woman they're both shitty films but I didn't hate this one as much Justice League was fun at least in Parts no it tried to be fun it was fun in part it failed miserably I think Wonder Woman failed more miserably but yeah I would agree with that Wonder Woman tried to be a lot of things that it wasn't at least at least all that this tried to be was fun in the answer to your earlier question the shittest character was Aquaman no way the shittest character was Cyborg [ __ ] cyborg no man Aquaman was the shittest why would you put a character no one knows Cyborg and then cast an actor no one knows as that already superl character yeah but that's fine at least was like what's that that's absolute

Insanity Marvel's Marvel's got away from doing like the well Spider-Man there's no like how he became Spider-Man they're getting away from that type of stuff because no one needs the origin story you need one for cyborg no one knows who the [ __ ] he is none of it made sense but I will also agree with Matt that Aquaman was completely underdeveloped as well yeah really was just there to give one oh yeah this is all I see yeah is that your Aquaman or is that your James hatefield from Metallica I think they're the same person they're the same yeah did anyone get the feeling that they're preparing for Ben Affleck not to return because they brought up a couple of times in the movie that he's been Batman for 20 years now yeah oh so you think they might just ride

out Bruce Wayne rather than riding out Batman or obviously they're not going to do that but rather than just replace him with another actor it's the feeling I got like he'll start like I'm old he's two doing this for so long I just get the feeling that yeah he's just going to retire and I'll bring in someone new I did love the fact that this Batman exists in the same universe as Batman Forever not Batman Forever Batman Returns cuz they reference the exploding penguins it does seem weird that they're like starting Justice League with like old man Batman mhm but was he meant to be old man Batman or they just they're just preparing for Ben to go I don't think I don't think they prepared anything I think they were just like um I don't

know yeah what do we got what do we got okay I have a question um cuz you could you could tell that Superman's must was C out yeah that was that was funny does see that's what I mean I like this film because of all anything of super bear before he went away um I don't seemed like every CD was in it was cged out I read I read a bunch of articles about Justice League this week uh I didn't put them all on the spreadsheet CU it's just so much and they all just like little one line of things but apparently they reshot a lot of the movie like a lot of it like it felt like they reshot everything with Superman in it well that might be true because

because I know that Henry caval said he was happier with the tone of Superman in this film which I don't know if that means all of the Zack Snider stuff got cut out cuz Superman is way more like like the Christopher Reef Style Superman in this yes he's much more light and he's not like depressed about having to [ __ ] save people like yeah but yeah I guess that's true but I mean he was evil for a little bit but they didn't really commit to any one type of Superman true he was brooding in the last one and he was a little bit Superman 3 in this and then he just went back to regular old Superman when they brought him back to life I didn't quite understand why he went a little crazy and attacked people and then just went oh good now what do

you mean you didn't understand that [Laughter] [ __ ] so it's so ridiculous also I can't actually remember how Superman died he got killed by the stupid Kryptonite spear when when he killed uh oh no not by the spear he used the spear to kill Doomsday and doomsday impaled him on a spike or something I'll stop you there Matt they never they never actually implicitly say that was doomsday so uh speculating my bad but how this doesn't make any sense like oh what's what are these Cube things I don't really know they got energy in them oh yeah yeah why don't we come up with a really really dumb name for them okay mother boxers yeah that's really

dumb we'll call them that they can probably bring back Superman yeah oh yeah probably they probably do that yeah the amazonians were guardi one looking after it the aqua people were guarding one looking after the humans when they got their they just dumped it in a hole somewhere classic hum and and history proved it was just as safe as the others I know yeah yeah was [ __ ] well in fact it was safer cuz this was lasted longer true it's the most [ __ ] out throwaway plot ever yeah it was like you were watching an episode of the Justice League animated show and this was just one one episode yeah it's like oh who's the villain this one steppen wolf what's he want to get ah some boxes and then why does he want to get him oh he's got someone else he needs them for who's

that never mind he's going to terraform the planet oh we already did that one in Man of Steel ah they won't notice yeah you know what they won't notice that that's actually what he wants to do and therefore they won't notice the double up I we just say it once and then move on terrible yeah I was awful he kept taking me out of every time he came on screen cuz he just looks so wrong true but before we start hating on that too much I'll say that and now I'm sure we'll talk about this later in the podcast but there's an Infinity War trailer that has a villain that I think also looks [ __ ] house so yeah Thanos doesn't look super good see oh so we do a shout out to Chiller 77 who probably likes this film is that what you're saying y if you liked

Justice League that's fine because I didn't like Wonder Woman and most of most of you did so I can understand why somebody would have liked Justice League more more than I think they could have liked any of the current DC Universe look I had fun watching this movie way more than I've had with any of the others any of the DC films since Nolan's Batman films like I I watched this and I came out and I was like H that was fun I guess cuz it was just so stupid but it wasn't painful like the action was restrained to a degree the worst part the the most Zack sndy bit that I hated was when Aquaman rode one of the [ __ ] bug things through a building and then like surfed out the bottom of the building on it like a like he was on a surfboard and went oh

yeah [ __ ] stupid that was like literally the worst bit of the whole film mhh no one's going to argue on that I thought it was it was stupid but it was fun what did you think of a Flash oh he was annoying sometimes occasionally he was funny sometimes he was the best part of the movie and sometimes he was awful yeah he he has two my two favorite bits in this movie were to do with him and also the tone of them will tell you why kind I guess kind of why I enjoyed this more are they bits that he shared with Superman they are and they're not even out of context like trying to explain them to Jenna she was like that sounds awful and like yeah it is but it was funny like it was it was enjoyable you know within the context of the film The bit where Superman catches him

trying to sneak up on him while he's in what what do he call that [ __ ] speed zone or whatever that flash thing is when he's doing his fast thing and no one should be able to see him Superman as fast or almost as fast as him yeah and he and he turns around and sees him and like there's this look on his on his face yeah like oh [ __ ] and then again at the end when during the during the sequence where Superman just does everybody's job better than them when the flash rescues the car of people and then looks over and Superman is carrying an apartment building full of people out of the danger zone as well let's be honest there should not be a Justice League 2 because they have proved that together they are useless and that only

Superman can do anything it's such a weird thing they there's literally they every single person Superman shows up and just is like what are we doing oh okay I can do that better so just stand back I got it yeah but that's always been the problem with Superman if you have a Superman you don't need anything else right even cyborg cyborg had one job separate the cubes and then at the end he's like I can't do it Superman's like all right I got [Laughter] it like oh [ __ ] hell oh and also that bit see again I I kind of liked it because it was just so cheesy that it made me laugh I Believe In Justice when he just shows up and like he hear him off camera yeah like soorry what Batman's guns jammed we're all doomed okay for starters I couldn't believe I

saw Batman just shoot people with a gun like Batman was so useless in this movie I know not only that he was an [ __ ] like he was a grumpy old [ __ ] I couldn't tell whether that was Batman or whether that was Ben Affleck I'll be honest yeah he's just like I don't [ __ ] care yeah whatever yeah oh just at the end where he goes how did you buy this back oh I brought the bank yep I don't know for that that line just annoyed me so much like how about you just loan me the cash you know yeah like the house would be pretty cheap yeah yeah you're buying it on a foreclosure buy B completely unnecessary such a douchy thing to do yeah yeah I bought the bank why that was really unnecessary absolutely also I don't know if you can just buy Banks even if you are really

rich is that a thing you can do can you be richer than a [Laughter] bank um what about the end sequence when you've got uh Luther back no I didn't care creating his evil I didn't care but what it's Justice League and the league of evil or something I don't know I don't actually know what they call I don't know either I know this is only fuel for the you just like Marvel fan like talk but I actually don't know yeah and I don't know and everyone knows I'm not a Marvel fan boy traditionally speaking but Marvel have just shut all over this franchise yeah Marvel just they know what they're doing they've got oh have you heard about Marvel they've got after this series movie is done they're

already planning the next 20 really well that's surprising but can I just say when I was growing up right DC would the good ones and Marvel were just the shitty spin-off ones you know it's just like oh yeah you've got a Hulk and a Spider-Man and then just like Infinity other different [ __ ] characters like and DC were the ones that were just sticking with no we've got Batman he's awesome everyone knows it Superman he's the original the classic you know and now it's completely inverted uh no I I think I I always liked Marvel more Marvel characters more I think they're more relatable I think the DC characters are more overpowered and uh and I guess over the top which if you like that that's fine like you like that's got to be one of

the major disconnects here cuz like I said I didn't like Wonder Woman a lot of people did and the only thing I can think is that I just don't like the fact that they're all Invincible like even even in Justice League right Wonder Woman is now [ __ ] fast as the flash as well CU in the scene at the start when she's deflecting all the bullets from a machine gun in front like oh she can do that now too everyone can just do everything Batman who can't do a damn thing yeah Wonder Woman just looked ridiculous when she was running around faster than the machine gun I didn't understand that that just I think they tossed that together after the success of Wonder Woman I think that whole sequence got thrown in there also I'll say this if Wonder Woman is invulnerable

and strong as she is why am I constantly seeing galar do Flex you know what I mean like if I'm if I'm going to fight say a [ __ ] Ro right I don't [ __ ] flex and take a stance I just go and step on the Cockroach cuz I know I'm [ __ ] stronger than it why does she come in and get into some tough looking on guard position there's absolutely no reason for it other than for the audience to cheer that she looks tough yeah I know I I flex when I take out a cockroach yeah but you flex your dick that's different yeah that you beat it to death [Laughter] with [ __ ] brutal you got to go somehow I just realized there's a counter to that right go on that the what I said before about it being tossed in there at the end that sequence because that is the

sequence that has I think if I'm correct it is the most obvious upskirt sequence in the film when she grabs the guy with the lasso and is holding him and it's like all right in case you were wondering what's under the skirt there it is and it seems like something Zack Snider would do and Jos Weeden might not do yeah but I think I don't know we know more about I was about to say I think Jos would have sat down in DA's watched that and and they looked at him like he's probably going to take this out and he's just like after a really long pause just goes little nod I'll allow it yeah beautiful cuz that yeah that was that was very up skirty that shot I like what else what I like about it I liked the

tone was lightened although I felt like is it just me or did some of the sequences like say for example I think a good example of it is the opening titles right it was in the style of a Zack Snyder opening title sequence but it was wrong like it was like you know the Watchman or Batman vers Superman has the same thing it's a lot of slow motion and then you know the the criminal kicks the the fruit and all the oranges fly up in the air that's what criminals do they it's the one thing I think Zack Snider does better than anybody else is those title sequences and I feel like he must have left before this one was done I haven't seen the the Superman movies did he do any fighting or saving the world of any other cities or just Metropolis just metropolis and he also basically

destroyed Metropolis as well and Smallville they blew he literally destroyed Smallville like wiped it off the planet in and also we now know that um there's a bridge that separates Gotham from Metropolis yeah it's just on the other side of so why is the world mourning him like even London had the big Superman symbol like oh no he's God yeah they [ __ ] hated him like like a minute ago like yeah I just that just felt weird to me yeah the world hated him and then he fought that thing that is doomsday but they didn't call doomsday and then suddenly everybody's like oh he was a good guy but how how would they even know what happened like no one had mouth the internet no one had any context for what happened like and then he just and then they just assumed he just left after

that yeah so yeah why did they love him also we're going to talk about uh the fact that this huge plan to bring him back from the dead was just literally dig up his body bring it back to the ship and then electrocute him I know that's why I was like oh we got these stepp mol after the cubes the cubes you say cubes cubes cubes could probably bring Superman back yeah we don't know anything about the cubes that's a pretty big assumption well how how would that work um I reckon if we dig his body up slap it in that uh spaceship from Krypton drop the cube and at the same time the cube hips the water if the flash runs in and touches it well hold on I'll stop you there why does it have to be at the exact same time because I mean if something's in water and it gets

electrocuted it doesn't matter whether it was already in the water or whether it lands in electrocuted water so how does anybody know any of this they don't even know what the damn cube is like make any sense and then I love how they're like they're all like oh we brought Superman back let's and then Superman's like I'm a grumpy Superman and they have to fight and then it's like oh we'll just leave the cube here and we fine yeah oh someone's taken it oh what a comedy of errors who could have predicted that not only that but right say say you're Batman right and uh and you're fighting Superman and Superman is as strong as he is and because of I mean this was basically that season of Angel where Angel comes back from the afterlife and is feral right it was that

it was just that right but if that happens and you're Superman why are you just punching Batman a little bit why not just kill him like that you know what I mean and then kill the other guy and then kill the other guy and then kill that CH good on the inside no no that's not why CU cyborg suit malfunctioned Christ and shot at him and then and then just that was okay that it was not not a problem anymore yeah oh it's because he saw Lois and then he uh no no but I meant the cyborg suit my functions after super wasn't threat anymore so but but he he's certainly you know like safe now like we know that that now that Superman isn't going to hurt him he's not going to be a threat to humanity in general this alien uh cyborg who we have no idea who it is that's right that that it's miles

Dyson's son yeah it's miles mil but yeah that's that's my mil I had a lot more fun with this film than I did with any of the other Zack Snider era DC films well at least this one felt like a superhero movie a bit oh love and the return of the Timberton Tim Burton Batman theme and the joh will Superman yeah like snuck those in there and I did read an article that said they fired Tom hulkenberg junky XL who had pretty much done the score finished the score already Jos fired him and got Danny Elfman in and he did the score in like a month so I can see why he might might have wanted to reuse some of his old some of the old stuff so you think that was just for convenience that wasn't a nod to the

fans it could be honestly I I I I he they're like oh this is Blockbuster film it's a big deal you've got a month he would have been like ah [ __ ] can I use some of my old [ __ ] I'll say it's an homage well that's one thing with the Justice League moves I can't actually think of the music like all the DC there's no well I can because I seek it out but and because I think the Wonder Woman theme is quite memorable but that's it you know that that Wonder Woman theme comes in in Batman v Superman as well when they're looking at the photo so there's a lot of a lot of for went into that when she shows up at the end too yeah look and yeah it's the only one I know the wonder

One theme is hans's Zimmer uh the Batman stuff was all junky XL and then the Superman stuff which was in Man of Steel as well is Han Zimmer as well so I know all those because I listen to movie music so but I the general consensus appears to be that the Marvel films have very forgettable scores as well up until Guardians and uh and Thor obviously Guardians is an exception and Thor Ragnarok is an exception other than that the Marvel movies don't have you know super memorable scores either so I think the memorable score is a kind of Forgotten art these days or it's not something they prioritize they try to make the score more invisible these days used to well I think it used to be and then it

in school yet and I'm sort of like they're not going to sit there and watch this movie and they didn't they were running up and down the stairs for half and then they clapped at the end a and you were upset cuz Hannah wouldn't let you go and play with them I was I'll admit I was at a movie today where people clapped uh and I I do hate that I do hate clapping at a movie it's yeah because no none of the people who made the movie are there and are going to hear it correct yeah so so you're really just clapping for yourself at that point yeah no one Jo in and they kept trying to make it happen there was a guy when I saw it uh there was a guy sat to the right and behind me who was throwing out little zingers every now and then like uh there was that you know that towards

in I think in the opening title sequence there's a shot of a homeless man with a sign that says I tried yeah and there's a guy behind me was like huh not hard enough buddy who I was like you know you got it either of you think that maybe that was Jos Weeden putting a little I didn't think of that it's like the opening credits is just [ __ ] just a guy with a beard just I tried I really did he did all right in my opinion he he he did okay people are on the internet are really really upset uh that he ruined Zack Snider's Masterpiece and they want the Zack Snider this is after everyone's campaign to get Zack Snider fired off this franchise people are [ __ ] fickle but uh certainly are there is is no according to someone who worked on the production there is no

Zack snd cut because he didn't get that far so so sorry this is the film that's on the poster isn't it sorry this is the film this is the this is what we came up with this this is Justice League sorry it's just [ __ ] so what's the next DC movie don't even know um don't know I know they're proceeding with Wonder Woman too I saw an article this week that said it's going to have a great love story and I was like what she like presumably not with her because that would undermine the whole [ __ ] premise of she she's never loved again right so I'm assuming someone else it's also getting confusing as well because this was made a because isn't this one

going to be set in the80s yes look I wouldn't put it pass them to just forget that there are other films and and and right yeah you know oh Steve travor was just back in it like why is he in it ah look over there explosions yeah because even in this one they sort of point out that she hasn't really been fighting or doing anything so and now they're just going to make it that in the 880 she did go out and do a little bit but then she stopped again like it's just going to be her sat at home looking at art yeah and porn it's the 80s Just Like Home Video has really really opened up the porn industry and just doing a ton of coke that would be really that would be fascinating how much coke would you have to do if you had like God blood in you

that'd be a lot of coke wouldn't it like the fil we need I think we need a luk reviews L reviews cocaine the film opens and it's just like the Justice League hanging out and then Bruce Wayne is like what did you get up to the 80s and then it's just like you know like on Scrubs when she just looks up up up and to the up and to the right and then it pans back and it's just like this [ __ ] 80s porn [ __ ] Drug Fest it's it's an episode of Mark and me yeah and then and then at the end of the film it just just comes back to her and she's like nothing much yeah it's just zooming in on one line of coke that's racked up dildos and

oh we we did that thing where we uh sexualize women we're not supposed to do that sorry oh [ __ ] we did it again in fact in fact guys this is a really good segue into something that I learned about this week do you guys know about the Dwayne Ro sorry I can't even talk do you guys know about the Dwayne Johnson rule no okay it seems like something Luke should know about yeah Luke Luke should definitely know about it but we should definitely know about it as well so the the Dwayne Johnson rule is something that the women of the internet have come up with right to teach men what it is and isn't okay to say to women right right and the rule is if you wouldn't say it to Dwayne The Rock Johnson don't say it to the women in your office I don't think that's a good

rule I'll be honest because go on you've got an epic chest I feel like I I I mean I don't know him so I wouldn't say and like I wouldn't say that I wouldn't pitch that film we just came up with to galado for example but also I wouldn't but you to Dwayne Johnson you're in a cabin you're doing coke and you're dildoing yourself for 10 years I'm more likely to pitch that to Dwayne than I am to gal that's what I'm saying as a joke I would it's way more likely that I'm going to pitch that to dway guys I just want to stop right here I knew them both it it probably won't happen it probably won't happen but if we are ever ever in a position where we can talk to Dwayne the wrong Johnson Matt I need you to pitch him that idea

the answer is yes yeah yes Luke would and because he's a man he wouldn't be offended he like okay fine whatever go I grab my ass no big deal get over it Infinity War trailer came out yep you mentioned already Thanos looks a bit [ __ ] uh other than that I mean it's not a whole lot in there it just shows us that they're all all everyone went ape [ __ ] over it and I'm it's not a great trailer it's just kind of like look they're all here yeah and I have a feeling it's going to be one of those ones where they've just going to have to accept the fact that they can't explain who everyone is there's something like 15 movies that come before this we've assuming you've seen enough of them what's like the comics you just get EX

right yeah and if you don't understand sorry like who the [ __ ] that guy N I don't time for that it's just there he is exactly right unless there that's literally that you know that little clip at the end where Thor's like who are you guys and it's the Guardians of the Galaxy and then and then there's just a half an hour of them just sitting there telling him story they look up and to the left and then it just plays Guardians of the Galaxy and then Chris Pratt walks up and he's like hi I'm Peter Quill uh I'm originally from Earth but when I was very young um you know my mother died and I was taken by uh by this gentleman by the name of on do in a spaceship and that's just the rest of the film yeah it's just him literally explaining it yeah but but but you don't

see it it's not flashbacks no it's just him talking the camera just slowly Zooms in to Chris Pratt's face as he explains everything awesome and then he has to also do the thing about how like oh but then Drax thought that yondu was my father and that we had this big laugh yes but then it turns out later he actually is my father yeah yeah and then every other character does that y yeah and then they of course don't know the Avengers right they have to do the same thing so he's like who are you he's like well I'm a God and I I'm the son of Odin and uh Etc yeah and then part two is the rest of the film yeah Infinity War part two yeah in fact there is infinity movies about this yeah they're all 12 hours long yeah so yeah Infinity War I'll watch it yeah

I'll watch it 100% yeah there's I think there's one more Movie Marvel movie until that comes out and I think that's black panther yeah oh yeah yeah that looks looks not a great trailer either but uh no it looks really good but the trailer sucked and I feel like i' I've talked about this before I'm I'm concern what's that no nothing just taking a guess at why you might not like this movie don't do that that's mean no just uh mean it looks like he's flipping around like Spider-Man and he shouldn't be that's that's my let's L shouldn't be it's dangerous stop it it's true he's not he hasn't got superpowers he's just like he's just a rich guy yeah yeah although I I did like that about uh Batman if I can just take us back to Justice League

um I did like that he he really got his ass kicked like yeah yeah like he like the bruise and the his shoulder dislocated and he there was some funny bit where he gets up after being pummeled by Superman and says some oneliner that made me laugh but I can't remember what it is now oh I'm bleeding now or oh yes he says do you bleed yeah y pretty sure I'm bleeding yeah I laughed I laughed I mean on one hand it's it sucks that he's completely Superfluous but on the other hand it it is funny that they address the fact that he cannot fight superheroes yeah no he's useless other thing that was sort of heading me towards that maybe he is retiring because it is like I'm getting too old for a wheelchair although that's

the other thing right and once again I don't want to be just a Marvel Fanboy right thissing on DC but in the Avengers movies when they do research right and they're all on computers and they're all discussing what the problem might be that makes sense because everyone's a scientist right but in this where you've just got Batman B fine he's a scientist and then you've got the Flash and they're all just doing computer stuff and you've got Wonder Woman there on a computer as well it's like what's going on right now and when when cyborg uses a computer it just comes up it's just giant text on the screen yeah because he doesn't he doesn't need he just like Jacks into it he doesn't need a type or anything no he's got Wi-Fi doesn't need a Jackie NE

it's true all right let's leave DC alone okay they're trying their hardest we'll come back and hang [ __ ] really are they really are trying hard aren't they we've got another Star Wars film coming out in two weeks two weeks and I'm still concerned about it uh oh my God it's next week uh it's two weeks for me but uh apparently Daisy Ridley has come out and said that uh she's perfectly happy to never play Ray again after episode 9 uh and people are upset about it and I was like well I it's good like you really want him to [ __ ] run that character into the ground like yeah I think it's odd that she's come out and said it too especially before two movies have come out that she's gone look I this actually wasn't what I signed on for this is really not as fun as I was hoping it

would be and uh so I'm out as soon as my contract lets me out and it's like that is a weird thing to say when promoting two films yeah I could understand maybe saying it at the third one like I'm ready to have a break from this role for a bit not yeah before the the second ones even come out you're going I'm done she said she's not quite like that she said she's happy to do well sorry not happy cuz that sounds patronizing as well she's really excited to do the third the third thing and round it out because ultimately what I was signing on to was three films so in my head it's three films I think it will feel like the right time to round it out so she's kind of like warning everybody but also it's not it's not being negative about it I guess no and maybe that's her way of

saying there's not going to be 10 11 12 yeah don't get excited about me doing more cuz I'm not going to basically well why would you want to as an actor we'll see you in 40 years exactly right that's a i a didn't they all wanted to get away from doing Star Wars didn't they like Mark Hamill didn't even want to do films pretty sure Mark Mark Hamill would have loved if they' kept making Star Wars movies Mark ham would have done anything and the phone first Fring I'm in I thought you was going to answer the phones at like like a Skywalker range I take any job George any job he was a very successful voice actor and still is still is yeah yeah yeah thought he retired he he is the V voice of the Joker for a lot of people yeah that's true it's very true although have

you seen him he came out this week and uh and said that there's one thing in the old Star Wars movies that he really doesn't agree with he doesn't agree yeah he doesn't agree that Luke would have attacked the uh wamp the wamper yeah the wamper yeah he said that Luke didn't attack the wamper the wer attacked Luke it was self-defense yeah but he says that he was only trying to scare away by waving the lightsaber in his Direction and that the wamper actually just got too close he didn't he's saying that Luke Luke wouldn't have purposely dismembered anyone fine that's fine fine but he did he he killed lots of people in returning to Jedi yeah you're slashing people left and right on that Sail Barge that's true I think it's way more way more obviously murder than the [ __ ] wamper

although I did see this meme today that was quite funny made me laugh it was uh when just after Obi-Wan dies and Princess Leia is comforting Luke and the caption was like look literally everyone on my planet is dead but I'm really sorry that a guy you just met is also died yeah that's right also he shot like a ton of Stormtroopers uh when he when he was when he saw Obi-Wan die he's killed plenty of people yeah he just goes on a murderous Rampage that's true shot him in the back he's no saint no no he's not also we're talking about the guy that kills small mammals yeah he bull Bull's eyes W rats yeah that's true just for the [ __ ] of it y Mark I think you need to go and have a

oh absolutely I screen screenshotted it so I'd never forget like once they realize their mistake that is coming down oh yeah is it any good why did they make this movie yeah I'm not sure why they made this movie and it's a valid it's a valid question because it is a bit of a nothing film but it's very well done and I really enjoyed it I don't know whether they're going to try to make this into a franchise of hooku PR movies now but uh I'll keep watching them if they do cuz this one was pretty good okay I've heard it was all right yeah I'm interested um uh I love I think you'd like it stuff yeah okay cool I'll uh try and see that maybe try and see it this week well you got your movie pass you might as well yeah I do going to clust you anything still working hey I

pay for it I just pay for it monthly yeah but you've already seen one movie so yeah that's true yeah movie is still working listeners in case you're wondering there have been a couple of glitches where Cinemas not glitches really it's either malicious or it's accidental but Cinemas are listing the uh because the way it works is you log into the app and it shows you the the cinema you choose the cinema and then it shows you the show times for all the films and you choose one and if it's and you can only see 2D films uh and if there's any kind of special screenings they're excluded and they're grayed out and big films like Coco and Justice League and Thor in the last couple of weeks have been gray out because the cinemas are listing them

with [ __ ] like Dolby sound or something so it but it's causing them to trigger that it's a special screening and so I mean the theory is that they're doing it on purpose because those are the no free past films that they have special deals with the the Distributors and they don't want movie pass people seeing them but technically that's against the terms of movie pass and so there's now a special uh checkin for when your movie is not listed on the movie pass app so you can still go and see them if the cinema has incorrectly flagged them so does that make sense am I explaining that correctly I think so yeah yeah so it's either a mistake or it's the cinema trying not to allow movie pass to certain screenings but then they can't do that cuz the Cinema's

losing money on this aren't they they have to be no no no movie pass is losing money hand over f the cinema is not the the cinema gets paid the full price of the ticket it's basically it's l basically it literally is a debit card and what I what happens is I go on my phone to the app and I say I want to see Justice League at 7:30 and then they put $1250 on that card and then I use it to pay for the ticket I use the kiosk I don't even talk to anyone I just use the kiosk the cinemas can't be doing it on purpose then because then they're losing money no they they the cinemas don't want it because they think it's going to devalue the cinema that's that's what AMC's statement said I don't know about

Showcase in particular Cinemas we go to a Showcase Cinemas uh but AMC we're fighting it because and because a lot of the cinemas signed on for Movie Pass when it was $30 a month and and now Movie Pass has just dropped it right down to 10 and so I think the cinemas are like oh [ __ ] like that's that's not enough so they they think Movie Pass is going to go broke which they probably are and then after that everyone's not going to want to pay 1250 for a movie anymore I think that's the gist of it I'd love to pay $1250 for a movie well you can't cuz you don't live here with me how much is a movie in Australia now um um it's costing me $80 to go see Star Wars what oh okay I'm going to the midnight screening but in the premium Lounge they bring you food and drinks and stuff and suck you off so

you've put you've put drinks and stuff into that price have you no I haven't on top of that but you're going with someone and you've included their ticket too yes $40 a ticket but it's a the premium ones are very there's like I think 20 seats in the cinema so it's yeah I like it there so you don't have to sit next to people normally no one $5 to $20 yeah okay but I refuse to go to those Cinemas I only like going to premium cuz you're an important person you shouldn't have to sit with the ri I am yeah I'm worth it that's what I keep telling Hannah she's packing her bags and looks like no I'm worth it I am worth it I am a VI um I was meant to watch Spectre did you I assume you didn't it's

not my fault there a surprise I was talking today never your fault and you mentioned for oh watch so this is my fault is it yes it's your fault wait the Christopher Lambert film Fortress yes that's a [ __ ] excellent movie it is it is but Luke that was a private conversation that you and I were having off air nothing to do with anything you also clarified with me this week what movie you were meant to watch and I reminded you and I even put an emoji of a little octopus there just to be cute Y and yet somehow it's my fault that you didn't watch it yep because I commented that a certain former host of this podcast's hair looks like Christopher Lambert from the early 90s

movie Fortress yes so it's completely your fault that I had to watch that great movie where did this conversation take place why was I excluded from this conversation because you're asleep when Luke and I are awake that's why yes that's fair so I'm GNA watch it next week okay sure I'm I'm legitimately I mean this isn't this is one of those things that we make you do things that you'll hate so that we can laugh at it I'm legitimately interested to see yeah if you like this version of James Bond because they've put back a lot of the stuff that annoys Matt and I but might all the good stuff yeah that might make you happy y well next week I promise all right before we move off films I just

want to mention a film that I saw today at the Singapore Film Festival um it's a it's a special effects Extravaganza right it's it's called call me by your name and it's a gay drama featuring Army Hammer and the reason it's a special effects Extravaganza is because they had to go through the movie and CGI out Army Hammer's balls from just about every shot of him in shorts and I can vouch for it how big are his balls apparently they're big who is Army Hammer because I know they're short shorts but they're not that sure Army Hammer played the twins in the social network the win TNS play The Lone Ranger in that movie none of us saw all right and as far as I know they're the only two movies he's made

then he made this gay romp uh they had to remove his balls yeah either they're huge or they're just low lwh hanging balls they're just in the way they're just in the way now it is set in the 80s and the shorts are very very short so it wouldn't be it wouldn't be difficult for things to go a Kimbo I am thinking they're just low hanging balls that's the feeling I got from reading the article the feeling you get from looking at Army Hammer I love the idea too that they didn't notice the balls until it was too late like they whole thing and then they're imp poos and they're like wait a minute his b keep popping out I was looking at his face the the dop would have seen the balls when he's framing up the shots right and he must have thought to himself look I'll leave

it in for now better to have it and not need it than for me to angle them out and then somebody later say what are you talking about we put his balls out of his shorts in every shot where are they oh they oh they're like they're in a meeting later on like watching the rough cut and then the director and all the all the producers and that are like um John did you not notice the balls and he's like what sorry did you you you didn't want the balls well it's news to me I noticed a lot of things that I would have you know not done but uh it's not up to me to question your directorial decisions it's it's just this is a very dramatic scene and you're just slowly zooming in on his

ball so there was one point where I said to you do you want me to zoom in on those and you said do you mean him and I said yeah sure him yeah yeah they are part of him yes hold on hold on have we been sexist would you say that to Dwayne The Rock Johnson would you would you zoom in on Dwayne The Rock Johnson's balls so uh Army Hammer's balls the equivalent of Henry Cav's mustache in uh Justice League I never did nobody notice the mustache yeah he like a Superman walks on and everyone's just like just don't say anything just don't say anything maybe they won't notice yeah and he's like okay no one said anything okay I'm not going to not going to like it was Henry kavell just pranking him he's like this going to be really funny I'm going

to leave mustach and no one said anything and I bet this is what happened too I reckon he walks on set right Jos Weeden takes one look at him turns around to the to the producers and the funders and goes sorry I've got a problem with something they're like oh Jos has got another problem with something sorry what is it and he's like okay what do you want to change now yeah what do you think isn't in character now you know what never mind yeah but I did learn that uh Warner Brothers offered to CG in the mustache into Mission Impossible and Paramount refused and they even sent some samples over of

them having CG a mustache on to Henry Cav hope you super well that would be the only footage they'd have right so it probably is yeah and look here's one of Chris Reeve we did just for fun I want to see it and I I don't know if they've leaked anything I assume they haven't there's plenty of pictures when you Google it but I assume that these are all fake right but I want to see a behind the scenes shot of him acting with the mustache on yeah of Superman with a mustache yeah so that we can lament the film that could have been yeah the I mean there was even a Superman movie made in the 70s and he

didn't have a mustache although as I scroll down here's Christopher R a mustache come full circle oh hey speaking of Full Circle this is a good segue I uh I've been packing this weekend for you mov soon don't you yeah in theory I get I get a house on Friday wow is your stuff already in boxes most of it is but not all of it and so we've been packing and while we were packing we threw Netflix on and there's a new show like it's brand new it only came out this week M uh and hopefully it's available to you guys in your Respec countries because you should watch it it's called Dark have you heard of dark I've seen it on the Netflix and I've put it in my list worth it it is [ __ ] excellent It's a German language television series which is dubbed uh oh good cuz I'm not reading

yeah I I think you can probably switch the subtitles on because we were doing stuff while we like packing and and like we wanted to be we can we can we can take dubbed yeah I I wouldn't normally but it was just easier uh and because at first I we weren't sure if we were going to like it but it's it's [ __ ] excellent yeah it's yeah yeah it's it's really uh weird and interesting I don't want to spoil anything almost anything I can say about it is a spoiler let's talk about it next week and I'll watch it all right it's about a small town in Germany and listeners definitely check this out it might not be your cup of tea but you'll know within the first episode if it's not so check it out it's uh set in a small town in Germany

uh some children have gone missing and some weird [ __ ] starts happening and then from there it just like [ __ ] it's it's great all right I have it I just checked cool yeah I will see if I I will watch the first episode and I'll tell you if it's any good okay yeah definitely recommend it it's uh like I don't think it's for everybody cuz I looked it up afterwards and apparently U it's a little too much for a lot of people but uh no it's it's very good is it actually made by Netflix or did they just buy it I think it's uh that's a good question I don't know it's I know it's released by them but a lot of stuff in Australia has like Netflix original but it's not they may have just bought it from some German television company or something but yes and I've read I

read articles saying that it's difficult to watch uh and then not not just because it is a little confusing and hard to follow in at times okay but I like confusing how to follow as a matter of fact yeah I think I think it's worth sticking with so you have to pay attention to it you don't watch it while playing for I think if you want to try and understand everything that's going on yes you definitely have to pay attention otherwise you won't you won't know what's going on it doesn't spell everything out for you in in a good way for example there's a there's a certain plot point that that we discussed afterwards because we watched the whole season in the end there's a certain plot point we discussed afterwards that I don't think they actually ever really

tell you but we're pretty sure a certain thing happened a certain way so it's it's one of those where you've got to figure it out it's good all right I'm in it's very good I'm me excellent I'm a maybe and uh mind Hunter is getting a season two which I'm probably the only person who on this podcast who's happy about it I'm very I've so many other people that I really respect the opinions of like this and so I really think I'm going to have to give this a third go I [ __ ] loved it so I don't know I really enjoyed it I know it's does anyone get killed because I the first episode and he's just talking theoretically about serial killers is there any actual serial killers in the show yes because well the the the the point is that they interview serial

killers that's where it gets to right well I haven't I haven't gotten up to that bit yet so okay that's a a couple episodes in that starts I think and then because it's a true story it's about when it's basically about the FBI realizing that serial killers are not normal criminals and that they don't they're not born evil or anything like that and then they have to this team is like well maybe if we ask them why they did things we can learn and no one's ever thought to do that before and so they go in and start interviewing and but then everybody's like what the [ __ ] are you talking to them for they're crazy and they have to try and convince the superiors of the FBI and and and everywhere else that that this is worthwhile it's great [Music]

okay no no all right fine no well you know what obviously people like it because they reviewed it for the season 2 which so that's a good thing that's a good thing um what people don't seem to like uh and I'm sure you'll agree uh is they don't like the Frozen short film that plays before Coco in fact so much so much negative feedback that Disney have actually come out now and said that uh fine they're just going to remove it they had they had already removed it from most theaters in uh in Mexico and I think actually some of the theaters took it upon themselves to remove it because it was it's confusing for for people who are there to see Coco because it's half an hour long yeah like a 5 minute film it's it was actually a made for TV special and they decided to throw it on

before Coco because Frozen 2's coming out soon and they want to drum up a bit of uh bit of hype for it exactly they want to sell some Olaf toys for Christmas yeah but they were saying Cinemas were saying that people were just walking out going sorry I'm in the wrong theater I saw I I I know that I mentioned it briefly the other week I I think I I mentioned it last week didn't I yeah you did that I that yeah that I had been weirded out by it because it was so long and and people were confused like there is no question people were confused by it like I became confused when it was still going after 10 minutes I'm like yeah I think people assume okay there's a little short thought there always is before a Pixar movie but when it yes goes on and on and on yeah I I I I

assumed that it was going to end at some point and then I would be able to watch CoCo but other people were not so confident and they uh they went out and then came back in presumably to ask yeah so yeah so they're pulling it out now uh from the start which I think is the correct thing to do cuz it is it's such a weird thing to put at the start I mean put a trailer sure yeah oh yeah but not like a half hour [ __ ] no film and then just again like it it's very different in tone to to Coco so it's just I don't know it seems like such a weird choice and it it weirds me out that no one thought even just once that it was a bad idea and they they're like oh really people don't

want half an hour of Olaf before Coco yeah yeah um I don't so I didn't know they're actually making a sequel to Frozen they are they are yeah are you excited I they make no not really cuz I'm seen the first one it's pretty good but are they maybe trying to oversaturate it with having that half an hour thing in it well I don't think they're trying to but I think that's what they did I think it was I think it was just someone made a mistake thought it was going to be thought it was going to fly better than it did I don't think there was any was the movie really short and they had to fill some time you know what that's a good question I don't know I don't think so like it it's a kids movie so it wasn't like a 2hour spectacle so maybe

they felt like they could afford to put another half hour on there to get it up to 2 hours that's possible I I'd like to stop people from doing that cross the board let's go back to 90 minutes being the running time of a film I really need to have a film that's longer than that look you say that but then my favorite film of the year was nearly three hours long yeah yeah you're true that's true too Lade run of 2049 and we do have a bit of news about that this week I was I really enjoyed this story go on uh Denny villanu I'm gonna do a mash up of just Matt pronouncing this guy's name let see if I can make a song out of it he uh he he took over directing duties on Blade Runner 20149 from Ridley Scott who who was originally going to direct it but he worked heavily on the script

with the with the writers he was very involved rley Scott in the film and then when they brought Denny on uh he said you're going to have complete Freedom so you don't have to worry about it but then there was apparently one occasion when Harrison Ford was there I guess for you know so reallyy Scott came in and everybody was there and it was all great except at one point Denny villu was trying to direct a scene with Harrison Ford in it while Ridley Scott was standing behind him and he said it was incredibly nerve-wracking and he said to him hey uh Ridley who's your favorite director and Ridley Scott said I love imar Bergman and Kubrick and then then he said to him I love Bergman too so Ridley how would you feel if you were on set directing

and you had Bergman standing behind you such a great Scott said yeah really Scott said okay I'll see you later fa enough out of here yeah that's a good way to handle rley Scott wouldn't want to say [ __ ] off really no but it's it's genius because he's appealed to his ego as well right that's exactly right yeah he's like you're just too good to be there yeah would you like it if the best director in the world was standing behind you wink yeah no that would be [ __ ] nerve-wracking like cuz already making a Blade Runner sequel is nerve-wracking I imagine h imagine yeah so I also watched another film this week on Netflix and I hope this is available on your Netflix too and I don't see why it wouldn't be um I

finally after many years of knowing about its existence watched the documentary on those kids that remade Raiders Of The Last Arc shot for shot I actually added this to our watch list the other day it is great and you should absolutely watch it I mean it's you know what is it you know those kids that in the 80s started making a remake of Raiders of the Lost Arc did you ever hear about this no okay well there there was a bunch of 11-year-old kids that saw Raiders of the last Ark loved it and then said we should make this and so they just started shot for shot and re reshot the whole film with them in it yeah over seven years so they age from 11 to 18 during this movie and it's shot out of order like a real movie so it's just um the at the time yeah exactly and

so they get older and younger and then you know they had falling outs along the way and then basically somehow Eli Roth got a copy of this right and sent it to Harry nolles and Harry n screened it at a film festival and everyone loved it and uh so then they brought these guys back together to make this documentary um I won't give anything away but basically there was one scene that they never got to film so years later to film the final scene and gives you the hisory it and it's just a really Charming story about these kids that I mean they're just like us you know they're like us if we had you know you get to watch the entire movie though you can watch the entire movie you can get it

[Music] sweet do you know what it's called I'm trying to see if I've got it it's called Raiders Of The Last Arc the adaptation is the name of the movie Oh you mean what's the name of the the doco yeah let me see cuz yeah we really get quite different movies in all of our three regions yeah it's true I don't want to hear about your region you love my region movies made about your region my list Raiders of the Lost ass it's called Raiders the story of the greatest fan film ever made bit presumptuous I'm sure they didn't call it that themselves yeah some marketing person suggested it and they went a all right fine guys come on yep I've got it good

you should watch it my list well they got to blow up the plane that's awesome it's it's right on the front screen when I'm looking at it blowing up the plane is the one scene they could never figure out how to film as kids cuz they couldn't get a plane to blow up yes correct mind you they do a lot of other stuff that is really impressive like they tackle some scenes that are more ambitious than things I would even think to do as a professional working director you know what I mean right sure like there's a lot of [ __ ] pyate Technics I'm using the term very Loosely but there's [ __ ] [ __ ] set on fire you know what I mean yeah maybe you could maybe you could learn a few things from them I have I tell you this this has

been [ __ ] inspiring to me like as as someone who makes a lot of films for corporations and Commercial Ventures I just want going to start setting more stuff on fire I just want to [ __ ] set [ __ ] on fire man are you just going to remake the Temple of Doom now I just want Matt you've just you've just you've just struck my bra bra like a bolt of lightning can Luke play Willie only if you play Short Round [ __ ] I short round was at uh Rod Island ComicCon the other week I've seen him in real life so I'm absolutely I'm probably the most qualified person now I think I might finally finish Skyrim or Fallout 4 hey one of the two one of the two or maybe both cuz they've just released the Xbox One X version of

them so it's going to be prettier speaking of Xbox One X have you guys the LA Noir Xbox One X it's beautiful oh yes it's [ __ ] it's an art it's an art deco Xbox and I want it rock stars giving it away I know they are bastards I don't like entering competitions yes you do yes you do yes you [ __ ] do mate you enter everything what are you talking about you L this episode you got mad that you can't enter the one I'm running well this is the thing I I I don't I get upset I can't enter competition because they won't Shi to Australia sometimes you pay to enter competitions and then don't enter them I mean I I'll say that that's the thing you's one it wasn't a competition no it's a competition I'm still going I don't know
