We have realised that some of our jokes could be taken offensively. We were thinking about phasing them out but we’ve got some real good ones sitting on the back burner so we don’t really want to stop.

so my opening last week I forgot one thing my wife listens welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy you forget that from time to time to be fair I I I sort of do uh so I got in a little bit of trouble yeah okay why don't you give us a little bit of revision and then take us through what happened next well it was s only about half an hour ago she came out and said I listen to the started podcast is there anything you want to explain and no my statements were quite obvious to be fair to be fair you know her name right yes I
do she wasn't one of the ones and for listeners who missed last week Luke was saying that some of the 300 or so women that he slept with many of which he didn't ever know um but Hannah is definitely one you do know assuming that you have slept together and I don't want to make that assumption because that's your business yeah I still try to claim I'm a virgin but No One Believes Me yeah because you simultaneously claim you slept with 300 women I did not say I slept with 300 women you imp you heavily implied it Luke I don't know whether you realized it so did no I I was not meaning to imply that I think your exact words were speaking of the number 300 I was thinking about the amount of women that I'd [ __ ] yeah um I would not have said the f word
cuz I don't swear oh is that a fact have I just never noticed that about you he doesn't swear very often if at all I yeah so uh you're looking for a new wife is that what you're telling us no no no no she she's she's still here H still here she liked it she was like okay that explains why you're so good at it I did have to explain that yeah exactly pretty much she she had to she told me I had to say that she was the best and that's why we are now married oh okay sure and you thought it would be wise to to to tell everybody that she told you you had to say that yeah and now now you're definitely not going to be in trouble anymore is I'm very honest is marrying someone because they're the best lay you've had like is that romantic am I just am I just [ __ ] out

moves tried and tested I remember some of their names yeah here's a survey you'll know it doesn't ask your name don't bother writing it down I'd prefer it to be anonymous for your benefit just rate all of these moves one through 10 slowly phasing out the three and belows speaking of phasing out um I saw a headline that really caught my eye earlier in the week Family Guy to phase out gay jokes I've actually been thinking about this just recently with Fox being purchased by Disney does this me Seth McFarland gets fired with all his pedophile jokes well here's the thing right I mean like Family Guy's been unashamedly uh you know critical of just about every you know subgroup including the gays you
know um I it that even though they've now realized it's not okay to make F of gay people they're not stopping the gay jokes they're just phing them out yeah because didn't I I I think this was part of the like in the show I think Peter Griffin says they're phasing out gay jokes or something right it was it was like this weird meta kind of thing which is something that yeah happens in that show yeah it's true but that's also a little bit of a a throwback to The Simpsons making uh making reference to the point that upu was okay when they first started and now he's not yes yeah see the they on the show and then the producers said we're not joking we're not going to tease the gays anymore so all right well we're slowly going to stop guys remember when we
slowly phased out gay jokes on this podcast yeah yeah sort of but I understand why they're phasing it out they've probably got some really good ones that they want to use first yeah so we'll hold on to these on everyone put them in a hat yeah we'll get these out of our system and then we'll be fine yeah yeah they say the climate is different the culture is different and our views are different so and that that I mean that's that reflects our feelings about it too yeah yeah that's right it used to be cool to make fun of people now it's cool to be inclusive and we always do what's cool that's right and Luke's always been ahead of the curve so I assume Luke's going to start making gay jokes now in preparation for the next you know decade
comes back around yeah when when being horrible to everybody is is in fashion again maybe you never know I highly doubt it but yeah ah is he being mean to me I can't tell maybe he's getting just getting a little bit of a slow start here you picking on me Luke what he's slowly phasing in picking on you yeah so that's what I think's happening that's fine fine it'll just you won't realize it's happening and then it'll just be normal for you is Family Guy gonna start phasing in good jokes is is my next question Z I haven't watched Family Guy in a while I'll be honest I think they phased in some good jokes in the first couple of series and then they phased them out I mean from memory it was the same jokes sort of yeah I think I still
don't mind it they just imploded on themselves at a certain point it was it would just became a slave to the formula I can still I can still watch it remember when it got cancelled yeah I think if it had stayed cancelled it would have been this kind of I remember Family Guy what a great show that got canell before it was but no one had heard of it yeah I tried to buy it on DVD once and we went into the DVD store yeah yeah well it almost was right and I remember the guy at [ __ ] EB was saying to us I think you mean King of the Hill and we going Family Guy no definitely no no no it's funny yeah it makes sense sort of King of the Hill actually I I hated that at the time but I never watched it and then I've seen Clips like bits of it and it's
actually pretty funny like I didn't give it I didn't give it a chance I think so I was kind of like that I I had never seen Brooklyn 99 and had no interest in it but ha's been watching it and I found myself do you have no interest because you've seen it and you don't like it or just because it looks like the kind of show you wouldn't like it's because it's it just yeah it's look it's got what's his name yeah yeah I thought that too I'm like no this is not for me I think you might like it Cruz I [ __ ] love Terry Cruz no Terry Cruz Terry Cruz is the best yeah he's [ __ ] hilarious it's it's it's dumb falling over in funny voices but with clever [ __ ] as well you know what I mean it's like um Andy something Andy Samberg that's him yep jingon Je

probably just slipped while he was on the toilet well he just randomly texted the phrase oh that sucks David sorry man and then and then immediately deleted it I I believe see he had tweeted the same thing uh to David Hasselhoff who said that his pet bird had passed away mhm like you know last year sometime and then he tweeted this same thing again but without see the problem is he's deleted it now so it's hard to see the context but it seems like maybe he just had it in there as a draft and then and or something when he rebooted his phone or something like that yeah and then he maybe he got a new phone or something and then yeah anyway so I I guarantee you he was on the toilet when this happened I guess it means he still
checks Twitter though right cuz he's got to I guess so you think You' think cuz cuz he knew knew that it had happened so he deleted it unless someone told him but yeah cuz I assume as soon as it happened people were tweeting at him so he must still be checking it but anyway I wonder if he will come back to Twitter he's been he's been ah [ __ ] wouldn't if I was him super silent which is interesting just for someone who was s vocal he's going to be working on something soon well he's supposed to be writing and directing Suicide Squad 2 according to the rumors oh really yeah thought he'd do something good well maybe it would be good probably probably part of his settlement with Disney that he would still get paid for the movie was that he had to [ __ ]
stay the hell off Twitter for a certain term can I just say though I'm I'm on screen geek right now reading this article um and if you scroll down uh there's a trailer that I haven't seen yet but it's to a movie called the man who killed Hitler and then Bigfoot yes I've heard of it I haven't watched the trailer though I didn't know there was a trailer I've heard of that and I was like what the [ __ ] probably uh probably go see that yeah probably probably yeah I don't think it's gone to the movies yeah maybe that's one of the ones that we can uh we can live stream and watch together on Netflix yeah sounds like the kind of movie that would be good for that hey just just springboarding off of uh Jimmy gun to uh Christopher Pratt you
know oh also uh involved in Guardians of the Galaxy did you guys I mean am I the only one who didn't know he's marrying Arnold schwarzer's daughter yeah I knew that they they knew they started dating yeah I didn't know they started dating I just found out they got engaged yeah same and I didn't even really know Arnold schweger had a daughter although you know fair enough he does sure he does but uh oh yeah that's right you've read his book yeah does it mention Chris in the book no strangely no he's got a son as well which we talked about this before you know is his illegitimate son oh that uh the one that looks exactly like youly right and at a certain point he would like the the maage show up and was like this is my son and Anie was like oh [ __ ] that's right i' forgotten about
that this is my son Arnold yeah yeah yeah no I did know that because uh you know he split with Anna Farris and all that jazz I don't know how I knew oh he I think he uh Instagram yeah Instagram that's how I knew yeah so way I know yeah yeah I Follow Chris Pratt on Instagram he's a pretty uh pretty quality instagrammer Chris Pratt post some funny stuff is that so some celebrities are [ __ ] boring on Instagram yeah I've started to call my Instagram who I follow quite a lot cuz step it up guys you're boring me noticed you deleted me mate is that yeah look you got to post some quality otherwise I unfollow just how it works now you post some quality photos Dan if you get a like from me you've done really well I don't like photos you
don't like phot I means I really like it that's why it's so surprising that he's on Instagram I don't like photos at all I photos you know how people jum on it and they will like like every second photo not me I will like like one in a thousand I like to imagine he's just talking about he just he likes them not the not he's got nothing to do with interacting just liking in the old sense like this I just don't like it well but you're right though I mean this is this is why I mean a few weeks ago or couple of months maybe now I I announced on the podcast that I was going back on Twitter because I I needed some Daily News again and I'm off I'm off again because Bor the [ __ ] out of me that quick yeah no yeah see I I generally when I I'll have a few drinks
on years and I'll think I should tweet more this year and I don't know why cuz I [ __ ] hate it and then well I wasn't going to Tweet at all I was just literally going to just kind of keep up and and and find out to talk about on this podast terrible for that yeah it really is and but also it's just really intrusive like I I saw that cuz I I followed Mark Hamill right and he's very active on Twitter sometimes it's gold and sometimes you just have to scroll through [ __ ] conversations he's having with people and then the other day it was like Mar has liked this and it was just a picture of tits and I like look I mean I'm glad Mark H likes tits but I don't need to know you know it was just like Mark is probably on the toilet scrolling through
Twitter sees him tits and I'm like nice gives it a little thumbs up and I know about it and I shouldn't know about this [ __ ] you know what I mean I like that Twitter's like Dan's gonna want to know about this yeah he Dan guess what Mary haml likes what do you reckon uh Facebook's [ __ ] creepy like that though I get notifications that's like I got one the other day right and I don't want to creep you out cuz I thought this was a little creepy creep away well it's not no not you L all right it's just told it just popped up to tell me that you commented on one of Way's photos like I got a notification yeah what it just popped up to tell me that and I was like the [ __ ] what what do I like I don't care I mean no offense M
you can you can look at any comment I make online but it's odd that it decided to tell you it's creepy right it does it all the time and then it's like uh it just pops up and says oh hey why don't you add this person as a friend and it's like someone I've never heard of and I'm like like I don't need a notification tries to get me what you cuz I don't actually log on to Facebook but I get check my emails cuz I still get the notification emails and it goes it tries to get me to add so many people I don't care about all know yeah the other thing is too now that they're and I'm sure this happened for a while but I've only just noticed it now that it's linked with Instagram right they're both Facebook own Instagram right I'm correct there yeah yep it Facebook now suggests
I follow like I become friends on Facebook with people that I follow or follow me on Instagram it's like n bro like I don't know these people yeah see I think it's because because I go on there not I don't go on Facebook very often and when I do I guess I guess mostly I interact with you guys or and well Luke's not on there so maybe it's like I I don't know I I interact with my family and probably with with you guys so maybe Facebook's just like we got to get Matt back on here like oh Dan Dan and H up to something yeah yeah go on get into that MD but I was just the notification I was like the [ __ ] like that's creepy anyway I'll if it does it again screens we all do need to try and do more on Twitter and Facebook do we
though we actually do for the podcast side not for a personal side Maybe cuz I follow some people on Instagram and stuff and I'm sort of like my inst understand what they doing stacked but I I follow some people who watch them ride what they're doing and we could do that but it requires effort and posting every day and what would you want to see us do on social media careful careful podcast at multipl nerd.com M nerg Twitter multiple nigas on Facebook like what kind of stuff do you want to see because if you were one of the 300 Anonymous women that had sex with Luke what would you want to watch him do online cuz I I sometimes you know I tried out posting the Articles or or just articles that are interesting on Twitter but I don't know

like the comic relief now he came in about the fourth one or something and they were just like oh no this works so he's just making Wise Cracks number three which was JJ Abrams directed number three yeah um but yeah they're good and I I think we might have talked about this I think it was maybe in the Simon Peg interview where he's talking about you know Tom Cruz does all the stunts and stuff right and that's why obviously he's a target for for our Deadpool but that's part of the appeal of the movies now is the audience knows he's really doing it and it adds to the to the film even though you're not really thinking about that while you're watching it you know that you know you watch a lot of movies and I I complain
about this all the time you know it's CGI [ __ ] when you watch Mission Impossible that's [ __ ] Tom Cruz hanging off the side of that skyscraper in Dubai like he's [ __ ] doing it that's Tom Cruz in space exactly that's Tom Cruz jumping from one building to another actually breaking his leg and then continuing to run and then being taken to hospital exactly like yeah so Tom Cruz or Betty White did she get Betty White in one of the mission possible films oh man Betty White is she actually doing anything anymore doing enjoying her retirement I hope so she's doing those Snickers commercial where you're not yourself without a Snickers or something do you have maybe that's s sounds like American stuff that uh that we don't get yeah oh there's an

basically yeah Ghostbusters 3 in other words it doesn't continue on from uh I don't know the new Ghostbusters than the girl version yeah I actually watched that the other day and it's a terrible movie it's not terrible because they're female it's a terrible movie I [ __ ] hate that you can't have a conversation about it without qualifying I don't hate women I just don't like that Ghostbusters movie that's right yeah it's [ __ ] annoying cuz I like few of the people who are in it just a terrible movie great you can't say you don't like the Last Jedi without having to qualify that you don't like I know [ __ ] climate is annoying try being a woman man no thanks de [ __ ] hate women seriously try it it's my challenge to
you Buffalo Bill style Jesus so yeah um look Ivan Ran's son uh Jason Ritman he's a director it's not just like someone's kid he is a profession I mean it is how Hollywood works we all know that but um he he's directed some okay movies in his time Juno Juno was okay I guess um so yeah he said that uh he considers this a Ghostbusters fan film and that he was the first ever Ghostbusters fan because as a kid he got to visit the set and I say yeah yeah Fair cool that's fair exactly right so um yeah [ __ ] it just please please convince Bill maray to be in it you do without bill maray I'll watch it but I won't be happy I don't want a cameo I want him in it yeah man I mean if Bill M's doing more
[ __ ] zombie Land movie sure he could do another Ghostbusters yeah so weird how he's doing Zombie Land since he's dead Bill Murray is such a weirdo yeah it's hard to tell why he won't do something like you know he wouldn't do Ghostbusters 3 he kept saying it for ages and apparently he was the the hold out right Dan Aid's [ __ ] gagging for it oh yeah and then obviously um uh what's his [ __ ] Harold RIS he's passed away now so so that obviously no Egon but the other guys are all up for it Bill Murray's just [ __ ] arbitrarily like n not doing it he's like and just to rub it in your [ __ ] face I'm going to do a whole bunch of [ __ ] just to prove to you that it's not that I'm not doing anything I'm just doing your movie I
would what is Bill Murray's criteria for selecting what films he will do well I mean for starters he doesn't have an agent he has a [ __ ] 1800 number you know that right yeah like he there's been so many things that he's been considered four but because they couldn't get in contact with him didn't get the part yeah he just occasionally checks his [ __ ] messages and there something he wants he gets back to him and as we know they tricked him into doing Garfield and then tricked him into the sequel tricked him into the sequel the tail job now streaming on Amazon yeah $3.99 to rent 9.99 to buy check it out yes so Ghostbusters I'll watch it I read a thing I I I haven't seen uh the the the girl Ghostbusters so I don't
know a whole lot about it but I read on um I think it was on something awful when they announced this this one there's a [ __ ] teaser trailer for this already too by the way yeah there is tonally it seems good yeah basically the reason why I think it's going to be good because it's got like the old car in it the old car the old music old music and yeah and it's blank enough that you can just project onto it everything you want it to be and see it reflected back yeah yeah exactly so it could I mean at this point it doesn't really mean anything oh yeah and they're casting um four teenagers two boys and two girls and apparently they're going to be the main characters and then we don't know two girls [ __ ] it I'm out that's right yeah you had me there but
no I won't watch a movie with a fale women no thanks Too Close what is this real life yeah uh I read a I think it was someone on something awful talking about how the difference between the orig Ghostbusters do you still check in at something awful yeah man how often all the time is it like still your jam yeah daily wow all right shout out to everyone at [ __ ] shout out to the goons man it's just a bunch of sking that [ __ ] real yeah I know but like they just you guys have been quiet for a long time now yeah it's true used to be uh used to be the the heart of the internet now Reddit yeah used to be like wink wink wink wink something awful and now it's just like [ __ ] 20 years later just drop into a conversation but this these this guy was
saying that the difference between the new one and and the original is the original's got this very precise humor where everything's set up and and the jokes are like it's all very precise and and and um control you know whereas the new one is just a bunch of people just constantly improving like every single character in the even extr are all are all improv students and they just everyone's like throwing out little zingers and nothing nothing leads to anything else it's just all like throw away but that's all movies that's all comedy movies that star people that used to be in Saturday Night Live camera holds they just riff yeah and then yeah I can't stand it cuz I feel like Thor Ragnarok has got a little
bit of that but it also has some precise and and wellth thought out humor yeah the he knew went to he knew went to let him go and he knew went to reel them back in yeah and when a joke's a set up for a joke later as as opposed to just not having any of that and just having yeah people that's right well it's like Lloyd and Miller when they were doing their uh solo attempt yes and they were like no we're just letting them make it up [ __ ] a script just come up with funny lines just say funny stuff yeah I feel like that's the difference between Guardians of the Galaxy and some of that other stuff too I feel like that's the same I feel like James G even though he's a funny guy and every one of the cast is funny if someone said something that wasn't in the script Jan's going to
go in and just say hey can you just say what I wrote In The Script yes well that's how they do always sunny right they do they do this to the script to the script no [ __ ] around like until they get that perfect and then they just [ __ ] around and then see what happens like so you can control that stuff anyway I just someone posted I I said I haven't seen the new the go girl Ghostbusters but I have no interest in it I won't be watching it you know what else I won't be watching um I won't be watching any movie by m night shalan uh including whatever the [ __ ] is coming out now yeah he's got glass out now he's finished his superhero Trilogy I think okay now I haven't seen any of them except I saw unbreakable when it came out
and watched it since and the one after that I don't I didn't even realize this was a trilogy there was uh what's the one with um Professor Xavier the new Professor Xavier oh that one where he talks to himself in a basement uh yeah yeah does all these voices yeah makoy split that's him yeah that's a sequel to Unbreakable oh okay did not know that uh did not care and now that I know that I'm not anym inclined in watching uh lass um but you may wonder why Hollywood keeps given this [ __ ] colossal failure money to make all these uh big movies and they took his name off the posters but there was he was still making them people just don't know that he was making them yeah that's right because look I'll be the first to admit when I
first saw the six sense I thought that was a pretty good movie but he quickly proved that he was an absolute one hit wonder and that every time he tried to replicate his one hit it got further and further away from why it was good to begin with signs not so bad The Village not so good and then just like well it's even funny like science wasn't bad but the twist at the end was unbelievable yeah they don't like water completely stupid water kills them is that yeah and that the the the mother when she was dying was able to come up with these ideas like that that and the mother was dying because M shamalan himself hit her with his car yeah that's right like if you if if you take that out of it it's a good movie but with
yeah that twist in yeah so he likes to have a twist for some reason maybe he needs to let go of that it look yes to be fair on the guy it worked so well for him in the six sense oh yeah it made his career basically yeah oh yeah Lady in the Water that was one of his right oh God but anyway um the reason we're talking about him now is because uh the answer is Hollywood isn't given him any money he pays for these himself yeah interesting yeah he he took out guess that's what you got to do he took out a massive loan on he he's got a big property in uh in Pennsylvania apparently and he took out a $5 million loan on his 125 acre Pennsylvania
estate and uh and then he used that to make the visit uh which is a film i' not even heard of and then once that was financially successful he uh he put 9 million together and made split and then after that was successful he managed to pull $20 million together and made glass and so he's using the money that he makes from his previous films and collateral from [ __ ] taking out loans on his property wow to make movies which is [ __ ] it's working for look power to him yeah yeah well I mean um Francis copela mortgaged his house to make the Godfather yeah well there you go yeah he took a risk and that paid off no risk no reward but uh ight will not be watching any of your movies because I don't like them well hopefully he doesn't lose his
uh his proba no look his movies they seem to be doing fine in that they are making him money so I I think that's what it is if you've got enough money to make a movie and you make it fine you can kind of get that knock on effect yes I mean that's why U ball could make movies for so many years yes I mean he was kind of doing the same thing but spending other people's money not his own yeah but all you money yeah as long as invest get their money back they'll give you more money next time but I know I feel like with film right it's like with with with music as well right if I if I was pumping out albums and I guess enough people were listening to them on Spotify and not liking them that I could live off it that's not very I don't know I
wouldn't find that very fulfilling you know no no exactly right yeah but you could then still try to move on to something that was good yeah and also Matt don't forget most people aren't fulfilled by their jobs yeah that's true but I yeah but I feel like it's only because it's an artistic Endeavor the guy who works down at the dairy every day doesn't go oh yeah not everyone likes milk but yeah there also the other thing where the what you're pulling out you don't think is crap either yeah uh well that's why I just I don't know maybe I give I I think maybe I do give film more of a I I kind of put it on a pedestal a bit which I guess actually a lot of people probably don't even look at it the way that I do I I feel like that's cuz sometimes I think oh man it
be great to make a film because I some reason I feel that's like important but it's not like it is to me but a lot of people don't care about movies so I think maybe I look at look at it a different way but I feel like U ball cares yeah he [ __ ] cares man he takes it very personally when people don't like his movies and a lot of people don't like a lot of his movies I worri that I would uh I'd end up like him punching critics literally punching critics in a boxing that's right if you don't like me come and fight me what a knob the uh well he's a big boy and uh he really he really showed the haters what for uh that said something awful beat the [ __ ] out of low tax yes yes uh look I like lowex but I I did
enjoy getting him seeing him get his absolute ass kicked that was such a weird sorry lowex if you're listening such a weird thing that happened I think the trick is to not care if you're an artist you've just got to make art for yourself you can't you can't do it for other people I mean you know like obviously it's a business but if you're doing it because you love film making and I think m shamalan is is in that camp and vbal is in that camp and you Matt are in that camp you know like they're just do it because it's fun and if it's not fun anymore do it do something else y yeah look I respect him [ __ ] taking a massive risk and and getting his films made but I don't know I'm not really interested in watching them but but good on you yeah keep keep sub's watching him yeah yeah yeah
clearly because because they don't put his name on the posters so people accidentally go and see them they they've actually worked out that if people know it's an ight Shan movie they won't see it yeah which is probably not ideal for him but yeah look someone that we do uh we do enjoy is Charlie Brooker I know you're a bigan oh yes absolutely and uh we talked about band snatch last week we did and some people have not enjoyed band snatch much at all and some people have been critical of about the fact that uh that they don't want to make decisions they want to watch a movie they want to they don't want to don't watch that one they if that's the case well Charlie Brooker has a message for those of you who don't want to interact with your media oh yeah
[ __ ] off then okay yep he said do something else yeah absolutely I'm like you know what fair enough what more does he need to say no that's right yeah if you don't like this kind of thing don't don't do it it's like watching a football match and being like Oh don't want I don't like football okay turn it off yeah it's probably not for you then yeah what are you watching it for yeah and then he said uh and then there's some people who think oh it's too simple as a game or games have been done like this before while this is an honor gaming platform it's on Netflix I'm well aware of what a computer game is thanks very much yes I'd do a yearly review called game wife thanks yeah so yes Charlie Brooker says if you don't
like it fine yeah look he was definitely opening himself up to a lot of criticism here only because this this hasn't been done before on Netflix I mean in terms of interaction this is really only the level of a [ __ ] 90s Z CD ROM but yes as he says this isn't a computer game this is a [ __ ] TV show on Netflix yes so if you're curious give it a watch have a play if you're not don't yeah even just give it I mean I think just have have a have a quick go at it and if you start out and it's not of interest to you I think the subject matter is possibly a barrier for some people fine like it's not maybe no but by the same token it certainly wasn't a barrier for me and it made me more interested than I would have been otherwise actually I think if you like black mirror you'll
like it you might you may not like the interactivity but you you'll like the I mean look the story itself is not as clever as the Black Mirror stories generally are but only because it's not a typical narrative like that it doesn't have the same kinds of payoffs it's got a completely different kind of payoff that only a story like this can can tell right anyway no I liked it I thought it was good probably won't watch it again but I thought it was good completely agree I've got some followup I want to ask Luke what happened with your phone mate well I have a new phone and it's great and I love it okay and Hannah's got your old phone that's how that all panned out hann's got my old phone yep worked out well all right well I also have a new phone for me cuz we uh we
talked about it at the time and I had said I wasn't sure what I was going to do and then shortly before actually shortly before I went overseas uh in fact the morning uh of the day that I went overseas I went and I got a new phone and I got uh I got the the iPhone XS Max oh the and uh [ __ ] yeah I don't I don't know what they're doing with the names now like it's gotten stupid yeah I feel like yeah yeah that's true just the number yeah and then R was the you know the offe revision yeah like revised and now it's all over the place yeah now it's the now they got different sizes
and different flavors yeah Matt I need to ask you a question um this is just based on um on how we've experienced buying new phones in this podcast before did you accidentally buy this or did you did you mean to buy this did you go yeah did you make a decision to purchase it no I well I I purposefully went to T-Mobile into the store and traded my uh my existing phone this so definitely was not an accident then no premeditated gave Luke Fair bit of flack on this podcast a few weeks ago when he told me that he accidentally purchased a new phone how do you accidentally purchase a phone uh but the other day I accidentally purchased something and uh so I'm eating my hat now it happens I uh so I got the iPhone the iPhone has the facial recognition right which you can
set not only to unlock your phone but also to um to just perform various functions including making purchases or authorizing purchases and um I got an alert on my phone and I looked down and there was a little popup message that said um you are about to run out of storage space on your phone um do you want to purchase um cloud storage space Oh and then immediately an alert popped up facial recognition uh successful you have just purchased your Cloud St you bump the hit the button on the side or something I think it's like must have but uh I keep I keep doing oh first I was trying to say the facial recognition I I when I first got this I was like I was like oh [ __ ] there's no home button now which
means there's no touch ID and I really like touch ID and then I'm like oh what if the face one sucks I [ __ ] love the face one yeah it's great I don't have to do anything I just look at the phone yeah great um like you know if I want to enter my password for a website and it's like all right I'm going to make sure it's you it just looks at me and it goes yeah that's Matt and then pops my pops my password in it's great yeah but I bump the buttons on the side now too because there's no home button there's just the um the the power button on one side I guess it's the power button right and then the volume control button on the other side and I keep taking screenshots because constantly because it's the two buttons directly oppos if
you just grip the phone yeah in one hand it takes a screenshot it's awful yeah it's driving me crazy if you look through my photos it's just photo after photo of just my home screen yeah especially and and they're all at 5:30 a.m. when my alarm goes off cuz I'm just like [ __ ] stop it and I'm like just smooshing the phone and it's just yeah 30 screenshots of my of my alarm yeah it's my one complaint so how's the phone oh it's [ __ ] excellent yeah I love it yeah it's uh I mean it's the best iPhone I've ever had and I feel like I feel like I've been able to say that with the uh the last few the seven plus I had I loved it h so I was a little worried cuz I did love that phone this one not love it as well great like the the way the screen comes all the way to the edge is
nice it's yeah it's good yeah great I don't mind the eyebrow the little eyebrow bar at the top no no no I've been used to M for a while look I'll say this though I mean I've I've got no plans on leaving apple and I've also got no plans on buying a a new iPhone until a new new one comes out but um some of these cameras on some of these Asian phones like the Huawei and and even the the [ __ ] pixel they're just [ __ ] stunning cameras like yeah the the the my pixel 3 camera is amazing bring like I I have oh [ __ ] I have a lot of cameras right I have a lot of actual cameras that aren't phones that are just cameras um and they cost a lot of money and the lenses cost a lot of money and I'm taking pictures on them
and the people standing either side of me with their [ __ ] pixel phones are taking better pictures than I'm taking my iPhone takes some good pictures iPhone takes pretty good pictures too but then then I look beside me and uh I don't know maybe it's me maybe it's uh maybe I'm just not very good maybe it's just that I'm I'm I mean I'm definitely not very good so maybe it's just that the iPhone is able to to make me less not good that I'm like impressed by it cuz I I mean I [ __ ] take some I were at the zoo and I took some I think nice photos that I wouldn't I wouldn't have to [ __ ] do that with a normal camera yeah I don't really have a desire to uh spend the time to learn it so the fact that the phone does it for me is nice yeah well I don't need to makes
life a lot easier when stuff just happens yeah exactly play any games this week gentlemen I know Luke has playing gnome Garden I don't know why what the [ __ ] is gnome garden please I've played the third one just to point out we know you're playing we know you're playing gnome Garden because when you were late for recording uh we checked where you were and Xbox told us you were playing gnome Garden yes I was in the lounge room and I just lost track of time playing that's I don't know what it is it's just a mind-numbing game where I don't have to think and I get achievements what is what is it you've not explained it okay so you have to it's basically handling resources and
building stuff and sure okay like C so you build a mine to get wood not not quite like that it's all like quick five 10minute Maps Okay so you sort of don't build anything new but you can up upgrade things and I can't explain it very well it's just good for achievements it's not a great game okay okay look I've been playing something that's not a great game either um but that I've been enjoying and I've I've now finished call of cthulu and uh oh nice look did did cthulu arrive and yeah he did I summoned him um which is just one of the one of the endings so you just found his phone number gave him a call wake up buddy shh wake up you been to sleep for too long um the uh the thing
about this game is this this feels like a 360 game right and not even a great 360 game it feels like like a mid-range 360 game at best but but I I do love the cthulu Mythos and I do love HB Lovecraft and I'm I'm now inspired I've been going back and reading all of the cthulu short stories again again oh nice um which are just so [ __ ] great they're so great people just don't write books like this anymore they just don't um but the the game has different choices that you make as as every game does to lead to different endings but you don't know that the choices are paying off because they don't change the actual game they just change the ending oh okay oh Jenner and I were talking about this yesterday about the way games do that
that and actually also it led into this whole big thing about lost and and just whether whether experiencing something and then finding out it was all a bit [ __ ] means that your enjoyment of the experience is ruined sure so so you make decisions but they don't affect the game at all until the end yeah more or less yeah it's just B basically so the the way that the kind of uh the way that the tree works is it's like if you if you did x y and Zed but this as well then you get ending one and if you did x y and Zed but this other thing you get this other ending and you can only get this particular ending if you found all of this one specific item you know it's it's just a bit it's very basic in terms of the storytelling needed to get to different
endings so there's there's basically three basic endings that you just you either kind of go in One Direction or another and I got one of them and then there's some kind of specialty endings if you if you did if you played the game like real hard which I didn't right if you got super into it yeah but I I had the ending where I just like oh [ __ ] it I'll just summon cthulu why not see what happens why not I forgot I did actually play another game this week that I actually enjoyed oh yeah I finally played hellblade oh hellblade yeah and that that game is amazing fantastic right like it's beautiful it's it's not a hard game or anything but just when you're walking along and you hear the voices in your head and for those who
don't know in hellblade you play a um female pck dish Warrior who suffers from mental illness and you're trying to uh you're trying to find your your lost lover but uh the voices in your head [ __ ] Lead You astray and yeah um they tell you to play this game with uh headphones on definitely play that cuz yeah it's really awesome hearing the the voices going she can't do that she can't go that way yeah yeah it's it's a she's never she's going to fail this looks interesting it is it really is it is and it's just a great setting you know you're in it's like this kind of like Dark Ages kind of Proto Viking era and it's all about mythology and stuff but it's it's well I think you'd like it Matt yeah I really I think you would and
the graphics are like amazing yeah yeah like it's a beautiful game okay interesting on the cockbox I assume I'll have a look yes it's um also part of um Game Pass now so I canceled that I haven't turned my [ __ ] Xbox on in three months well you can even go pay $80 for it or just get the pay the 10 bucks yeah yeah Fair Point oh well I've been paying 10 bucks for not not using it so yeah we'll see find the my I purchased it months ago didn't play it and then it came out in Game Pass and then I played it well I played a game this week I played a game quite a lot for for me uh is it a switch game no I've been playing it on my on my laptop uh oh okay it's a game that I first played I think at PAX
East and and I really enjoyed it it's anti-hero I don't know if you've heard of it uh I recommend you check it out it's a it's it's kind of like a board game it's like a digital version of a board game but I don't think there is a I don't think there is a board game I think it's just the game's designed like that but basically you're a thief a master thief and you have a a guild and you kind of play through these different scenarios where you're playing against another thief like Master thief and you have to you make on your turn you you kind of make moves and generate different kinds of of of characters that you control to to position on the board and then at the end of your round you collect money and lanterns the lanterns you used to
purchase upgrades and the money you used to purchase new uh I guess troops or not really troops but but new uh characters and yeah it's it's really fun it's it's it looks cute as [ __ ] little kind of Victorian setting is it yep and there's a character that looks exactly like Jenna is it yeah okay maybe I know the one you're looking you you're on the web page for it yep yeah I could see that I could see Jenna yeah yeah fair enough uh yeah it's a great game it's really fun is it on I recommend it it's on Steam it is on Ste it's on uh iOS now as well I noticed oh [ __ ] that I'm not going to play on iOS though Mi no just just we play it on uh play it on the on the laptop it's great no I am if You' shut up up I'm on Steam right now
looking for it Jesus [ __ ] buy it just do it I watched a uh TV series recently too that I would like to recommend and I I won't talk about it too much because I'm I don't know if anyone's seen it I don't even know if it's available where you where you are in the world uh it's called perfume or perfume oh and it is a German TV series about do I have to read do you have to read no no you do not yeah you oh oh no no no it's D it's it's dubbed I I okay yeah I understand what you mean uh no it's dubbed uh it's are you you familiar with perfume the the book or the film I assume Dan you probably are maybe not
it's uh it it's Loosely kind of based around that because the characters in it like the book in the the book perfume and so it's it's it's about a series of murders uh where kind of uh certain glands and areas of the body have been removed and it revolves around kind of perfumery and then that the book is a factor and and and some other things and then it's got like it's a about a group of friends who are friends at a boarding school and and and it's yeah it's great it's it's good mystery it's interesting it's it's different I think because it's it's European it's very I feel like even realistic just about like the way kids act towards like sex and like and like violence and things like it's just kind
of I feel like it's a bit more realistic than than okay intriguing I'll give it to go yeah we've got it on Netflix here so all right let me but he's actually just known as perfume yes oh like not French spelling you mean right yeah there was one odity with they're actually speaking of French there was one odyy with the version that I watched which was that it it's dubbed right the German is dubbed except there's a few characters that speak French and when they're speaking French it's not dubbed and there's no subtitles so you have to go in and flip the subtitles on just for a little bit I know I was it was it's just in every episode does this happen n like just a couple of times like well there's there's a few bits where they have like
a quick conversation and I was like oh I guess it just doesn't matter like you can you can intu what they're talking about about but there's a there's one scene in particular it's quite long and it's all in French and I guess they just I don't know dro the ball on that for some reason like it's just not translated and cuz I I think it's it's they want you to know that they're speaking a different language so they can't just dub it but then the subtitles aren't on so you don't know what they're saying it's just a little odd I assume that's the reason that they made the choice not to dub it is so that you know they're speaking French yeah but anyway I recommend it it's good got on my list now I the list of movies I won't get around to watching or television shows
do you watch uh the autopsy Jane do yet Luke uh no no I started watching a show called Colony about Australia is it no it's um set in America set in la oh yeah so it's there's three seasons I'm sort of up to the second season it's uh aliens invade right but you don't actually see the aliens okay so they're basically land they get humans to sort of keep everyone in line and they just basic fenced off LA right and theyve made sort of colonies around Earth and yeah they're basically harvesting people to send to a factory on the moon huh okay sounds interesting but it's all about like the humans are the ones that are actually doing everything for the aliens saves money on uh special effects I guess yeah it really
does no it's it's quite interesting I'd re I recommend that sounds cool except for the fact I heard it got three seasons and was canceled on a Cliff Hanger oh then it must be good that's definitely a sign that it's probably very good the old uh Carnival curse does it have the guy from Lost in it the guy with the kind of sh lost oh maybe I think I know who you mean I just don't I never watched lost well there's a guy with long shaggy hair though all right sist too the second time lost come up this episode and the third time it's come up in my life in the last couple days [ __ ] great no cuz we were talking about lost and I was just I I feel like I feel like lost was worth it for me yeah sort a way I got no regrets with lost none and then neither way the fact that it was a bit
[ __ ] in the end before it was a bit [ __ ] it was [ __ ] terrific now that I know why it is the way that it is I'm kind of like huh that's kind of an interesting experiment and I appreciate it I agree I agree n I'm all in for lost all in that's uh God star we're going to get letters from the listeners who hate us talking about Star Wars patreon.com multip nerdgasm if you want us support the show then you can tell us not to talk about Star Wars but I feel like that's what the force awakens did that the Last Jedi [ __ ] dropped the ball on because remember when the force awakens came out for years afterwards everyone was talking about who raised parents who's snoke you
