was really worried he was going to see it because I I watched it and then I was like that's the [ __ ] thing I've ever seen and then I just went on Twitter and everyone else was like did you see how that cute that [ __ ] baby Yoda is yeah that's like when when Luke was like if I just start reading something and see that it's going to be a spoiler I just stop reading and you're just like but if you see something yeah you see a picture of I'm very good at just tuning stuff out I'm really good at that tune baby Yoda out Luke go ahead try I well I did for the first week but I want to call something out Disney have a shorter spoiler no spoiler thing than I do okay yeah I've said two weeks they have one week like they started sending out pictures

and stuff the day it was released in Australia so that's advertising luk yeah no no but they were showing off baby Yoda And discussing baby Yoda yeah that's cuz they know that's why people are going to watch it well no that's not why people are going to watch it but that's certainly what people have latched on to isn't it do you know what one thing that bugs me is that it's not baby Yoda but everyone's calling it baby Yoda and it's annoying me that people are like oh it's [ __ ] baby it's a [ __ ] Yoda prequel no it's not it's just we don't know what else to call it that's right cuz there it's not there there's no no one knows the race of Yoda so but one thing like I am loving the Mandalorian it's so good but the story is actually quite

stupid and makes no sense go one but I it's just so well think about it like I don't want to think about it I just want to watch it yeah like if you think about the actual story it is stupid well hold on how can it be stupid there not enough of a story yet to to us be calling that surely gu gets paid to find baby finds baby decides to keep baby fights off other dudes but I'm talking about like how it's like the baby's been there for a while there's no reason we don't know why the baby's there and when he lands on the planet this guy's just yeah I'll help you yeah I'll bu rebuild your ship maybe it's all going somewhere maybe it's going maybe it's going somewhere with all that oh I'm just saying like it's like I'm enjoying I'm

loving it but you have to admit it is a bit weird story line look there are holes I assume they're going to they're going to plug those holes as we go along uh but we're just we're cuz it's so good it's very easy to forgive I don't want to see him plug baby Yoda's holes that's not something I want that's not something I want to see on this show Matt baby Yoda is 50 years old he is of age if Mando wants to [ __ ] it he can [ __ ] it legally well that's one thing about the the age of the baby it really turns out that yod like this conversation go on no no I'm taking it really means that Yoda's not really oh sure that old and wise like if he was a baby for the first 100 Years of his life yeah then really is only about 9 years old no but he does say taoti did say

things age different ly in this so maybe they get they're a baby for like 100 years and then they're just an old man for 800 years yeah yeah you I'm saying T because that's who the voice of the IG Droid was in case anyone didn't understand didn't know that I'm talking about the IG Droid to be fair that first episode that's what happens with Asian people they're they're young for a very long time and then suddenly they're very old looking that's there's no I was gonna say I don't know if you're supposed to say that but if anyone's going to get in trouble it's you so that's fine yeah I couldn't get any more trouble than I already am in so um speak amongst yourselves I just have to go send an email real quick all right all right he's gonna email [ __ ] baby Yoda

Darth Mo cropped up in Solo I started trying to do maths in my head being like holy [ __ ] is this set before The Phantom Menace because you know any normal human being knows that Darth Maul is [ __ ] dead yeah children who watch cartoons no different I know that's so actually makes me wonder are there any of the um that mud horn thing that creature has that ever been in Star Wars before probably not maybe I love yeah the the [ __ ] concept art that they show at the end of every episode I know it's Beau it's also very reminiscent of like the concept art for like the original style beautiful I really feel like with Mandalorian they went they were like what is it that really captured everybody's imagination about the originals and they kind of because you

know you're saying yeah the plot is a bit Pokey I guess if you think about it but it's got that Star Wars thing that even the prequels have a little bit that I I would say for me that the Last Jedi lacked that certain something about it agreed agree that that yeah like I don't know what it is but yeah it's like the sense of wonder of like strange far away worlds and you know creatures from the like the new one's just kind of just all about action and story I'm actually genuinely concerned that the Mandalorian is undermining episode 9 if I was if I was Lucas if I was Disney I I wouldn't give out essentially for free on television something that's better than the big tent pole film I'm releasing in a couple of weeks because if Episode 9's even going

to even going to be on parm with this it needs to be really [ __ ] good and I don't know I've heard some I've heard some rumors that with uh Sal night they've done some test screening and people are walking out Jesus people didn't even walk out of the fuing phantom menace we sat the end people and for the people staying there sort of doing sort of uh a scoring process and the First Act is meant to be like really good and then just next two just fall apart well probably that's rumor I don't know the spoilers that I saw I know we've talked about this before but are just [ __ ] insane so mhm mhm yeah I just don't know what to think any you know Jenna said to me to she was like do you think baby Yoda's going to be in episode 9 cuz old would

he be at that point and I was like oh my God yeah CU here's the thing he very well could be we know how this [ __ ] works I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly John Fabro is [ __ ] no but like I I I read a press release comes back and fights Palpatine again yeah yeah but this time I'm cuter [Laughter] I can do even faster flips I caved Luke off offline I got Matt to um explain to me the entire plot of episode n that he had spoiled and I really oh yeah yeah I I really hope he's wrong CU it's [ __ ] it's [ __ ] garbage be so [ __ ] oh god look the way I'm looking at it let's just get through this that's the tagline Again Luke is riding the poster right okay Star Wars Episode 9

let's just get through this yeah if we can just get through this and then we can focus of the Mandalorian and then maybe they cuz they're going to take a break for a couple of years and then we can settle down and we can actually not worry about the Skywalkers yeah just give us stuff in the universe which're just showing to work yet again hopefully that's what Mandan is teaching them that like people love this oh they just want more Star Wars without Skywalkers fine yeah yes and you don't need to throw in the characters we know cuz that's why people don't like it because at this point guys we have to admit there are far more [ __ ] Star Wars movies than good ones yeah well they uh JJ was doing some

interviews this week J J ABS yeah jar Abrams and he uh he he did had a little comment on you know George Lucas said he didn't like force awakens and JJ said oh you know disappointing it would be great if he did but you know fair enough it's his creation uh blah blah blah and then uh some other odds and ends they asked him about uh he said that the Last Jedi didn't really derail anything that he wanted to do so he's kind of episode 9 is going to be what he envisioned was going to happen anyway after the force awakens so okay and then as part of that in other words I'm ignoring it yeah and as part of that is you know people always complain that Ray's like a Mary Sue like she's just really good at everything and she can like use the force instantly JJ said yeah well that's no

wept when he first saw the that's funny I don't know why it's so funny is you this is a funny way to describe it because this is also the guy that that claims he's never seen a Star Wars just saw this [ __ ] baby yod and started crying yeah I only watch for my own movies yeah oh dear one thing I have noticed with with this apart from the Mandalorian there's nothing on Disney plus well I mean there's a lot of stuff it's just stuff that that we're not into like they've got a lot of old uh Disney Channel stuff that I guess appeals to people here who had that when they were younger like there's a ton of stuff on

there that Jenna's really excited about because she used to watch it when she was young MH but I'm scrolling through going okay what will I watch now and I'm looking at it going nothing it's my sister to more stuff she's just tuned to Disney plus all the time now like her girls just [ __ ] watch Disney plus now cuz yeah but is she tuned to it or her the kids tuned to it only one TV so you know no I just I mean I I'm not entirely sure where the the target for just the day-to-day stuff on this it'll just be the Big 10 like mandalian oh no yeah yeah it's just that cuz I thought the whole idea of Disney buying Fox was they going to have like the fox back catalog on there as well I think a lot of things still have deals with Netflix and with other streamers and they

literally W for them to slowly their licing deals and over to Disney yeah cuz honestly like if it wasn't for if it doesn't sort of change once mandalorian's over I'm going to just unsubscribe well it's going to be a season to sign up again for that I guess yeah exactly so I wanted to ask Luke as as the you know the kind of the Star Wars scholar of the podcast yes and I don't want to say anything yeah I don't want to say anything to uh too specific just because episode 3's only been out a couple days so people might not have seen it yeah but we do uh we do learn quite a bit about mandalorians in the Mandalorian and I wanted to know is that more in line with what you used to think was the case with

them or is this like a whole completely different thing or is this like what's the deal with it's sort of a mixt it's a mixture of both okay so do you have to kind of keep in check prior knowledge that you have of these things cuz obviously they're not the same yeah like and and that's what that's what I think makes it hard for a lot of the stes fans who were very much in this extended Universe it's because they are touching on it but then it's all new and it's really hard to get your head around sometimes and not take into the backstory you know yeah right yeah but I uh I've got one question um KL weathers man I can't believe KL weathers for St we're watching it can't they [ __ ] listened to Dave and went yeah he's got

he's got the right idea I know [ __ ] they again gets casting ideas from this podcast um y turns to me when he's just on screen being all [ __ ] Carl Weathers and she's like I can't believe Carl Weathers gets cast in something serious after Arrested Development like you know yeah but the fact that he calls the Mandalorian Mando yeah leads me to believe that possibly Lando calisan is not his name he's a landoran he's a landoran that's funny like one of the things I'm waiting to see if they bring out cuz it used to be the leader of the Mandalorian was known as demand the law yeah like in uh the night Republic makes sense and it's actually Boba Fett oh well

was paying he I'm wearing all my money I literally am now wearing a suit of money all right I think I took a lot of people's advice mhm I was told on Twitter that I was a fool for thinking of skipping uh fall in order and that I should skip the films instead yeah so so you got it I did one thing I will say that I didn't say last week uh one of the things now he's like is a bit [ __ ] about it well no no one thing I actually ended up doing cuz I didn't mention there's also sort of a Dark Souls component of it where so like if you die you have to sort of go back and get your experience and everything from there what I ended up doing was just playing it on story mode so that

took out that sort of having to worry have that yeah where you have to die over and over it wasn't easy on story mode actually but you don't have to worry about the whole run here die run back level and just trying to level up that way so I actually play it on the easiest setting mhm okay oh okay no shame I do recommend that if you don't want to go through the pain of like a dark souls type game where you have to yeah do that part parts over and over over again I I bought it and I like I'll be honest I haven't played a whole lot of it but I played a little bit and I was like it's all right one thing I wish I had have done differently at the start of the game was actually had you working on that stuff for a bit

longer like sort of just trying to get the noted character a little bit more instead of just jumping straight into your now hunted type of thing I think it could have just built up the character a little too but I haven't had a chance to play it yet so I'm looking forward to it hopefully I get some time but yeah I do just rem recommend playing on story mode oh okay all right maybe I'll switch it I think I've got it on normal or whatever yeah I started playing on normal and then I just got to the point where I was getting a little annoyed where I had to keep running past and fighting and leveling up just to try and so I dropped it down it still is a bit of a challenge it's not like you just walk up and one hit people yeah right but it's easier to

enjoy I find okay all right well yeah I'm I'm not I'm not it's not that I'm not enjoying it it's just that it's not blowing my mind like I was given the impression it would so like it's it's cool and this is why I gave you the advice you should buy it when it's on sale well I didn't I bought it yeah and he told me not to buy it at all and I bought it too a really Charming live action trailer that's why I bought it this is why we should listen to Luke why we have no money we didn't yeah that's too apple plus launched recently oh it did uh which is apple apple plus is that what it's called Apple TV or I don't know whatever the [ __ ] it's called Apple TV plus Apple TV Apple streaming thing yeah they got some shows up and I haven't actually really watched any of them yet I don't

think I'm I'm interested in watching for all mankind which I believe is theirs yeah that looks interesting and uh one of the shows is the morning show which stars I think Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston um fantastic Matt well it got a bunch of negative reviews uh when it first launched and there was this weird thing where the producers came out and said oh that's just cuz people don't like apple yeah that's why what I know I was like all right I mean maybe a little bit but really that's that's a weird thing to say I love this whole thing now that we just have to [ __ ] blame you just have to have a reason why people haven't watched your thing other than maybe your script

wasn't that good like is it I'd be embarrassed to go out and say something like that like that just sounds like even even if it might be true i' would never go out like going out of the cinema if your movie didn't go well and people people just don't like going to the movies yeah yeah and my movie is [ __ ] excellent it's just that the uh the the oh like Tom Green's thing about how now the kids were just buying tickets to crocodile dunde and sneaking into my movie that's why I didn't sell you tickets that's right well even the thing that's like in the we've got in the spreadsheet here about uh the Charlie's Angels movie Elizabeth Banks is saying that people didn't go see it because they don't want to see what was it the women direct or women being action

movies both I think I think she's just accusing us again of I I sort of refer back to like the original Charlie Angels movies I watched them they're not that I they're bit of fun I think I I I I get that I don't know I she's probably upset that well I'd be sad if people didn't like my movie too and so I would be trying to find oh maybe it's not me maybe it's this other thing but like the most recent episode of the Mandalorian was directed by a woman and everyone [ __ ] loved it so I really don't think it's just that oh it's woman oh [ __ ] then no I really think with this one is people just didn't want another Charlie's Angels movie yeah either though it wasn't very good it's got to it in it and people don't really like

her anymore and remember I'm never going to give her I'm not going to give money to any anything that will end up going to her all right so Luke's excluded but no honestly guys I mean I saw the trailer for this I I'm not a fan of the old Charlie Angels movies and I've never seen the TV show I have no Nostalgia for this but if I saw the trailer for this looked really [ __ ] good I'd probably go and see it but I saw the trailer and it looked shite it looked like terrible cast it looked like it had [ __ ] terrible [ __ ] like uh like impro style comedy which all [ __ ] movies do now which I hate and it just looked dull so I didn't see it it's not I hate women to me it looked like it was going to be like a it looked more like a straight to TV movie like it didn't look like it

deserved a cinema release place look yeah I've seen I've seen a trailer for it I think I just I just was like oh yeah not interested but I'm interested to know what they when cuz when they were going into it they would have had a target audience in mind shock I'd like to know who they thought that target audience was to begin with Point Luke yeah because if they are like if they do notice spikes and know actually it didn't do well overall but we got far more female viewers then okay tick you know that's what you were going for and you kept the budget low enough that you could go for a niche market that should be fine if it didn't just break out into the mainstream instead of making excuses maybe maybe think that maybe you

marketed your movie too broadly yeah do you know what I this you just reminded me of something this is not in the spreadsheet but I read this thing the other day about you know how they're making more avatars right like a million more of them yes and saying like it's is going to be James Cameron's you know greatest failure basically like no one's waiting for Avatar 2 and then someone said no you're all [ __ ] crazy this movie he's going to make billions of dollars like we're we're all paying money for Star Wars but in China they don't give a [ __ ] about Star Wars they're all gagging for Avatar apparently really and like it's the only Western science fiction like series that they care about for some reason like

he's he's just for some reason gotten in there and they like cuz they don't care about stars you know they apparently they um they do not give a [ __ ] yeah and and you know they've tried they put uh Donan in Rogue one and everyone audiences over there were like oh they' put Don Y in there to try and get us to watch it well we're not fooled all right they put Rose in Last Jedi and then they all went she's Korean not interested they think we all look the same not interested so yeah not working out for him but yeah apparently Avatar they love it no but I do I just back to what you were saying before about Jenna's question was it about is baby Yoda going to be in episode 9 I will most definitely say yes he is now and maybe he wasn't last week but

wondering like they did it twice so I wonder if it was intentional like no no you know because I was showing how they don't break yeah but they also showed that they don't break by dropping balls on pieces of the glass and then when they did it on the car itself it did break so I wondered if it was kind of like a publicity thing maybe not but I mean do you see they hit the [ __ ] door with a sledgehammer and nothing happened nothing happened not a dent this's a tank and this is what they'll be driving on Mars there is a there's an like a a what do you call it vacuum sealed version of this okay and that's what's that's what's going on Mars sort of makes sense a little bit could you put you want one on Mars and in downtown

Neil Blom Camp was going to do it at one stage he's not now he's going to do a sequel to the first one I think right is that what it was going be I think it was going to ignore all the others and just be a sequel to the first one because that's what they're doing now yeah that's I can understand ignoring the third one but I think they should not ignore the second one the second one still I didn't mind the third one just got way too over the top and they killed off the other character I loved the third one when I was a kid though I that ninja robot the [ __ ] ninja guy or whatever he was so well now they're rebooting it and they've chosen a director and it's a dude from my [ __ ] high school I don't know what to feel about

doing the fcking RoboCop all right how do you apply for those jobs well he just did some movie and I'll be honest I thought this looked awful just by the trailer but there's a little monsters yeah it's it's it's like a it's like a comedy horror with Lea yongo in it and I right I was it wasn't on my radar but maybe now I'll have to give it a look because it's clearly good enough that they like [ __ ] give this guy RoboCop m H or maybe the qualification is you need to have gone to Cambridge Park ey oh no it was it New Town yeah it was at Newtown High yeah yeah New Town New Town makes that makes more sense yeah yeah oh well I mean that that makes you just disqualified to be fair yeah that's right I might just give him a call and

just let him know a few things that I want him to include in the movie you know and well you should just include that next time you pitch like went new high for a year and a half so there you go River cop returns I will go I will go see this one yeah I will too yeah probably it definitely cannot be any worse than the last one the last one was like fine it was fine and it had a couple of really good elements to it but overall it was very forgettable I think with that one it uh because they weren't going for like the r they were trying to go from wider audience and no we want that high level

of violence someone getting shot dick not AB broad yeah that was the whole thing I mean the most misunderstood aspect of literally every Paul veren movies is that he's a comedian and he makes parodies and Rob parody of 80s action movies because it's just goes [ __ ] nuts as you say Starship true birs parody of Science Fiction good movies people say Starship Troopers is like a fascist film and like no he was making fun of them yeah like if you came out of Starship Troopers being like yeah let's go [ __ ] kill the bugs then bugs were right you missed something if you yeah that's right if people didn't encroach on their territory it would have been peace they were just defending well one thing one thing

that's change from the book to that is the the book they were still fighting bugs but they were able to build spaceships and things yeah the book's quite good actually yeah the book is excellent yeah people list if you haven't read the book I highly recommend it and it's also not it's not a very long book either no read all of hein's books he's a great author yeah he's got some great he's got some great science fiction out there and also some um believe he's got some either lovecraftian fanfiction or cone of the Barbarian fan fiction because he was part of that group of all those guys that used to just kind of write each other's characters yeah right is it sort of fanfiction where they sort of get it on

oric that's how it works these days yeah there's a there a piece of Star Wars fan fiction that I was going to do I think I did do it was there a segment where Terry read Star Wars fanfiction man that's not you have to [ __ ] I feel like I did that once no the ship is sailed on Terry Terry's been retired he's too the world's not right for Terry these days but oh man i' love to hear some Terry same there was one and this is not I I Terry didn't write this it's uh this is one that I found on the internet to have him read and it was about or I think maybe Jenna found it sent it to me I can't remember there was there was a few of them but one of them was chewy gets an Ewok stuck inside of him

what and yeah it was weird it was super weird and it like like a kind of like a you know the Richard Gear jble story like that but with Chewy an an Ewok uh and it was some fanfiction that someone had written and that's what I think of when when you say fanfiction now that's that's where my mind goes time
