[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy I have a correction to make to last week's podcast a correction from you let's hear it doesn't happen often but I was actually remember I was talking about how much in shock I was about Alan Wake and how much it was going to be mhm mhm I'm incorrectly said $40 and I was wondering why you weren't sort of wow about that I got it wrong it's actually $30 okay that's great like I mean to be honest I was pretty impressed with $40 I mean I've bought it already I feel if you've bought a game

in the past you should just get it for free uh it depends with me depends if they've done anything with it true there are times where they do like a they just release the game again yeah yeah no I want they've done work on this so I think they've earned my $30 30 bucks that's great cuz it's a fantastic game and you were saying all original music back in this they've sorted out all the all the LIC they sorted that out ages ago cuz it went off sale from the Xbox 360 stores because of Licensing and then they got it all sorted and it's been back on the 360 store for a while now is there still a designated 360 store yes oh wow the reason why there's a still 360 store is with the Xbox one and one series X they're bit interchangeable so it's all the same but 360 you can only

still play 360 games yes that's right and I still go to that store every now and again well I love that there's certain amount of 360 games that still pop up on um Game Pass well that's the thing like the only time I have to go to the 360 store now is for games that aren't backwards compatible which there aren't many anymore and yeah you are seeing them on Game Pass and the store and everything else so I really regret or maybe now is the time to look into whether Kung Fu Chaos is playable again because that was one of the best games on the original Xbox and then as soon as the 360 came out it was like forget about it it probably is playable but it's couch Co-op I know back in the time well we used to have a lot of free time

to actually be in the same room and just play games we can't even work out a time to play together we don't have to be in the same room yeah I know Matt even tried to get something happening this week that we shot down really quickly oh Matt's not here by the way oh yeah yeah Matt yeah you know in his holiday home yeah in his bare cabin but yeah he tried we shot that down very quickly because I was never going to play the game no and I tried to play we're talking about valheim by the way which is a very good game um except it ran like absolute [ __ ] so was never going to run on a Surface Pro all right fair enough not much run on that surface Pro it's the Surface Pro is designed for work Netflix didn't run very well on the Surface Pro let me let me put that out

there yeah you you that's not what you needed I'm using my MacBook for 90% of my stuff now and it was only because it is a work Macbook so I was wary at first to use it and then they sent me to a seminar which laid out exactly what I was and wasn't allowed to use it for and I feel that all my daily use pretty much fits into that category a porn yeah that's pretty much the only thing that you can't do yeah porn and Espionage are the things they kindly asked you to avoid doing on your if you can yeah and you've tried your best you can with the Espionage but the porn that's right I'm trying to combine my love of porn and Espionage together but I still haven't come up with the uh the perfect solution for that yet so what has been happening we're actually recording at a weird time

during the day we're all both of us are completely awake we're awake more yeah aw I'm quite awake because I slept last night from 7: to 10: then again from 2: till 6: and then again from 9 till about 1 so so how long to the baby doesn't have to be looked after every 3 how it depends who you ask if you ask Matt he's like oh [ __ ] three more weeks mate cuz he's for some reason got a very very well behaved child um I've been told by 6 months I should be perfectly safe okay but there's other problems by then too by then you you got to watch them constantly throughout the day and you can't put them down anywhere

no no you you can't you have to watch them constantly now no I could put it down and walk away and know it'll still be the same place get anywhere yeah providing I've swaddled it substantially I know that's out loaded the roll pretty quickly so just make sure you've got it in a cage of some sort yeah today actually I was holding her this morning and she just full and lifted ahead to look at me which is the first time she's ever done that just like on her own lifted ahead no you're just using neck muscles alone and I was like oh wow okay it really doesn't take them long and then they slow down again yeah yeah there's like this really big you need to do everything for them and then they start getting up talking walking and then you

still need to clean them up and yeah then for about another few more years but they can walk around tell you that they need to be cleaned up instead of just yelling at you yeah that's right me just having to preempt it yeah Y is this scream for [ __ ] or food yeah that's right end do I need to look at that's the lovely thing about a newborn is that there's really only a few things that can be wrong with it yeah when there's not it's when you're really scratching your head you like not yeah yeah which I've got to get a little tube and suck it out of your nose yep like I'm your [ __ ] slave you are that child slave for for the next I don't know I don't know they say 18 years but it's really not 18 years you going to pay for it for a lot

longer these days that's true but i' stopped listening to what my parents were telling me from a lot earlier than 18 yeah but you still expected money that is true and like housing food food every day yeah that's true entertainment clothing yeah just just don't talk to me though stay out of my room yeah I'm wondering how long it'll take before the stay out of my room sign and my sister she's got kids that are like six and nine or something around that age and um uh her daughter has a don't come in my room sign on her door now so that's more directed at you you can't make that joke that didn't come across the way I me all kids have that sign on their door for you Dan I never had that sign of my room I don't think I did either no but I do

know that is a bit of a staple with kids like stay out and yeah oh no to be fair come to think of it I didn't want my siblings in my room I didn't care if my parents came in but I but mostly because I didn't want to talk to my siblings cuz I was so much younger than me and I just found them annoying my sister was the same age pretty much and I found her annoying I don't think that's an age thing yeah that's true I was happy for your sister to come in my room Zing sorry you right into that one she as well oh god um yours is a bit more appropriate well not appropriate but yeah I mean it's less let's let's move off both these topics shall we so I finished a

game this week that evidently is getting review bombed for a reason and I was a bit confused by it okay so this is a game that I am probably going to play because I've played the subsequent games at least some of them I I think I'm still quite a bit behind in terms of where I'm up to but we're talking about life is strange which is a wonderful little I've always I've Loved all the life is strange games and they re-releasing them again for the series X at the end of the month looking forward to playing through I might wait then and play through from the start for the listeners who don't know do you want to just give a little bit of a rundown of of what they could expect life is strange the first one you play an angsty teenage girl who finds out she's got the

power to control time MH so sort of just go backwards and forwards not a long way and stuff happens in her town and she helps investigate and find out what's going on mhm and it's very lowkey you're kind of just wandering around it's it's like a point and click really yeah like there's there's no rush to get it done there's there's there's some thought involved with it with some of the puzzles but not a lot but the tone is very profound it's it's just a lovely game to play the second one I wasn't a super fan of mhm the second one was uh 's now an Angy teenage boy just doesn't relate yeah as the listeners know you're a you're a video game transexual no but what happened with this with the second one you it was your

younger brother that had the powers and your father gets killed at the start of the game and you go on the run with your younger brother because they think you did it this whole thing could have been avoided with just staying where you are and explaining what happened yeah that's right yeah telling the police the truth yeah like honestly that went on a bit long then he meets up with his mother and it's a little bit too high fantasy because if you're a little if you're a teenage boy with time travel Powers then you just use that power to reverse time to just before you ejaculated and then ejaculate again and then just keep he do have the power to move time now that's the thing all the powers have always been different M mhm so in the second one the power was you could sort of move

things okay with your mind yeah true colors is the most recent one that come out and when they started talking about this I thought this sounds stupid she has the power of empathy what kind of power she just a very nice person no what it is is when people when you start playing it it becomes a bit clearer when people are having a strong emotion either way like whether it's angry or sad or she can sense that get a reading on them and if people go too far as in the very first episode Take On The Rage of someone that is beating up her brother and they completely beat the [ __ ] out of him wow and yeah she she really loses it and it's about her sort of you sort of touch on her past and her growing up in sort of foster homes and stuff that's a

frustrating Powers I have and then it's her about sort of learning to deal with it and then also investigating the only thing I didn't like about is The Game's everything's just too perfect in this world yeah like you just rock up and town after being in foster homes and everyone loves you and everyone's really nice and it's just too perfect I felt that was kind of the point of the earlier games too with that you're still an angsty teen but you're an angsty teen in a world where it's okay to be an angsty teen yeah you know it's a bit of wish fulfillment on the part of the devs I think who might have had some troubles growing up at that time in the next one maybe do the Angy teen stuff but actually understand that the world's not perfect yeah

consequences yeah well the Reon being review bombed it's not because of the game it's because of a a flag that was in the game okay a Nazi flag is it no it's just the Tibetan flag oh okay so let me guess it's China it's China That's review bombing uh review bombing it but it wasn't like it was a major part of the game or anything it was just I don't even I don't even remember seeing it oh they would have noticed they they would have noticed really but it's not like I mean it was out of context right it's not like there was a big sign above it that says definitely not part of China the way I see because I haven't gone back to have a look it's just the flag in the

window of a shop or something yeah but according to the Chinese the the fact that there is a Tibetan flag and not just would the Chinese flag yeah it would be supporting Tibet and being separate from China like it's in America they got that flag they're against us yeah that's right which was really I thought they'd be trying to R bomb it for sort of the fact that my character Alex you can decide whether you're straight or gay or between my character was gay you you you are not only are you a video game transexual you a video game lesbian as well yes I'm a lesbian in real life yeah yeah elizan trapped in a man's body yeah I just find it strange that they go for the review B well they might be review buming both yeah maybe I I guess think

it's a lot of people who haven't played the game because honestly like the flag would have to be just something small in a shop window it's not like you would be playing a game that plays a major part or there's a free type bet to protest in the middle of the game and as I always say like you could reasonably assume that only the character who put that flag up is pro Tibet and everyone else in the game [ __ ] hates them you know what I mean like just could I always say this when people say a certain book or film is racist because there's a racist character and it's like no no no you can write a racist character without your book being racist yes you know especially if they're the bad guy yeah if they're the hero yeah then maybe you might have a bit but even then not so

much like American History X the main character is a racist and the whole point um what's that the New Zealand movie it's the same the one that came out last year with the little boy Warriors no no no the um the comedy with the little little boy who's a Hitler supporter like oh yes uh JoJo rabbit yeah that's right main character is a racist but the point of the movie is that racism is bad and just because there's a racist in there doesn't mean your film is racist with stuff like that like yes you could have the hero be be that racist but they need to learn yeah yeah like that that needs to be part of the story say you have a racist character they the hero that life is strange would be all right if directly after the Tibetan flag in the window

that shopkeeper was dragged out by the Chinese secret police and beaten in the streets no I don't think they want that either I think they want American police to drag them out and beat them sure cuz it's not China get involved with no that's true and in fact the chinaese I mean Hong Kong you can have that argument whether Hong Kong's part of China or not but Hong Kong have the biggest film industry in Collective China um but often have to make alternative endings for Mainland release um the very famous one is infernal Affairs which is what the Departed was a remake of um which is about cops backstabbing other cops and uh if you watch it in mainland China in the end they're like guys you know what we've been doing this all wrong we should

really just support the the system here and uh confess that we've been yeah so the only yeah they just come clean and yeah they they just turn themselves in yeah yeah as most that's the right thing to do yeah yeah yeah so review bombing I mean what does review bombing do I I've never quite understood the effect that this has so I've never understood especially because I think on Steam they now just if you don't own the game it doesn't have any effect on the mostly positive or mostly negative so I don't think it actually leads and then they switch it off anyway yeah yeah but you see it all the time at the moment there's the new God of War mhm being review bombed is it cuz there just a trailer for it oh I think one of the things I've seen I haven't looked

into it too much cuz it's a Playstation only game but there've there's video of him getting into a canoe or something and theyve pointed out that's the same way he did it in the last game so you're just reusing assets it's like that that's what games do yeah this is a sequel to the same game sequel but it's a spin-off yeah instead of us sort of spending the next I don't know 3 months working on how he gets in the canoe how about we just use how he got in last time because how many different way got get in a canoe let's not waste time we've got the we've got the funny way where he tries to get it and he falls out and like what do you want like I don't know that to me just means that you get the game earlier watch any Disney movie and anytime you see a

character dancing it's the same Dance Beauty dancing with Beast is the exact same [ __ ] wireframe as Cinderella dancing with Prince Charming I think that may change now maybe I reckon it I when was the last time you really watched one though I haven't watched one cuz I don't remember the big ball ballroom scene in what was the last Disney movie I saw what was the last Disney movie you saw um probably black widow okay I really mean the animated movies is what I'm talking about I actually have no idea what the last Disney what I would have seen would be did you see Coco No oh that was excellent was there a ballroom scene in it though no then I'm guessing they didn't use the save dead suit fair enough um but that's what you do it

saves money in time hey speaking of speaking of computer generated films it's a tenuous link but I just I don't have much to say about it but it came out soury Weaver came out and said she's seen bits of the new Avatar and when asked if it was good her response was well there's a lot of it set underwater so not only do I not give a [ __ ] that James James Avatar James Cameron is making more Avatar films but I also don't give a [ __ ] that he's making another underwater film I think it's more of he's just trying to make it he's he's he's got he got all the money and everyone signed off and then he's going to start filming he's gone we've already seen most of the planet yeah um oh no what we do underwater I haven't seen that true

we've been in the sky and we've been on the ground what else is there well even remember any original movie he goes off to see all the other clans he does yeah they really milk it didn't they see the planet already oh man and now there's a special underwater race of avatars or nari isn't it nari uh I don't know I tried to watch it a second time and was so bored and I hate 3D but this movie not in 3D is boring oh I I went through it a few times at the movies just not for the movie for the 3D like it was 3D done well yes yes possibly the only time that has been the case yeah because after that they tried to bring everything out in 3D and none of the other movies were made for 3D like with that like even when they're just walking around the forest and you see like the

bits of just air with dust particles pretty much you see that that's that was my favorite was when even when they were in the offices and they're just panning past those kind of perspects monitors just that the depth that they created is just something they've never been able to do in any other 3D film like the only time I've actually liked was when we went saw Guardians of the Galaxy and it was in that 40 like with the chairs and the spray like that still needs some work yeah but that was fun to be honest the actual 3D the stereoscopic image was the least memorable thing about that experience the chairs move yeah the chair moving was [ __ ] rad cuz it wasn't just a oh it's going to shake down we're going to follow the

ship yeah like this it wasn't just always I'm not sure the chair stopped moving the entire time because at the end of the film when the lights came up and I was still I felt very still but yeah I don't think it was I think it's just because that's how good they see in together cuz I believe this is years ago they wouldn't do like the 4D or whatever version of it for like a few weeks after the movie came out so they could sink all that stuff up and when was that that was when we were in America York 2016 five years ago since since New York wow and that's probably oh no I saw solo last time I was in LA as well have you been in La you've been in America since our New York trip uh yes cuz I went for E3 few years ago oh you

did too that you did too where you had your conversation with um Kevin Smith on Hollywood Babylon yes he lied to him about feing koalas he [ __ ] ate it up though he his life is enriched believing that fing yeah got this koala that mean we're buddies yeah that's great very quickly some followup from uh from last week uh we did talk about a lord of the ring 31 dis box set um and we kind of all mused who who would want a 31 disc boxed set um only people with $1,500 is the answer what there's not a what else does it come with I I'll tell you what it comes with and it comes with quite a lot to be honest but still there's not a lot of films I love and I there's some films

I [ __ ] love but there's not a lot of films I would spend 1,500 bucks on a special edition so this comes with a 100 page sketch Style book replica the Red Book of West Mar the original film sketch's new artwork something reprinted that will cost less than [ __ ] book yeah yeah no I like books as well but you know yeah but um original reproductions of watercolor paintings by a claim conceptual artist okay again print a poster yeah and I like art as well but still okay all discs housed in six stunning throw leather books and collectible Hobbit style wood shelf okay you get a little shelf shelf you get a little shelf but this is not $11,000 worth of wood no and it's it's not real leather no no okay so it looks like there's a little bookshelf with some

nice leather bound books on it but actually the leather bound books are dis holders and one of them's a book that's 1,500 bucks no no thanks no no pass oh hold on but evidently there's a cheaper one oh okay how how much is the cheap that's like the collector's edition okay all right so this is the fancy one but there's still a the regular uh no it's still 250 okay okay 250 and that's us so that's probably $400 Australian yeah but that's just the discs [ __ ] hell so they are really charging for the book the bookshelf and the cases they're charging $1,300 that is a lot of [ __ ] money for a bookshelf people give me a th000 bucks I'll build you that bookshelf yeah yeah

yeah m i I'll make it pretty much look exactly like that cuz this is not a sophisticated looking bookshelf NE I Reon I could do this yeah I mean there's a little bit of ornateness on the side but I re you're not getting that part yeah yeah it's a th000 bucks Australian yeah that's right not us yeah so it's about 700 bucks us and you can get an approximation of this particular case you get Luke version of it it might look like something you can get at Ikea it might it might not it might look at off cuts that I've got from stuff I've purchased from Ikea in the past that I'm trying to get rid of yeah you shouldn't have off Cuts Luke from Ikea things pretty sure you meant to use every piece ah sometimes it's just you just don't want that extra shelf or that

extra bit you just knock it out done that on computer desks where had remember old built-in like bookshelves and computer desk and you just got just knock that part right there's always one shelf for you're like why is this here why I don't need that bit so yeah but yeah it's 1,000 blocks do you remember when every computer Des had a little slide out tray that your keyboard went on who ever used that [ __ ] hated that because how would you have to sit to far enough back that you needed to extend extrude your desk did you also used to have uh the the the the keyboard condom that's the only way I know I used I didn't have it but I know what you're

talking about my parents had it and I never understood it because that thing was filthy and S of like it could get rid of that and it could still be filthy dead skin and F nails and dust yeah that's right cuz it'll be under the keys now all you've done is you've kept everything top yeah and now I'm just touching it yes and you can get that little suction thing that sucks that [ __ ] out of your keyboard if you really care but yeah I that people made a fortune off that that plastic keyboard thing that goes over the top that yeah made your keyboard even less sanitary yeah yeah I mean keyboards used to be deep they're not as deep unless you like the oldy keyboards I do I've got my mechanical one up there yeah I'm sure you do yeah I've thought about

having one except that I use my laptop keyboard as the keyboard CU otherwise well why would you get a keyboard to put on top of a keyboard that's just stupid exactly which is why I don't I'd like a fancy keyboard but we need a fancy computer yeah but then I can't would you like a fancy computer I can't sit in bed with my fancy are you offering me a fancy computer I might have a fancy computer so does this mean you have finally migrated over to your new computer no that one's sitting over there still my God I so want to be that with your free time I get caught up playing games like life strange True Colors imagine how well these games will play I mean I know you're playing play on the Xbox I'm just using the computer to watch television

yeah mhm and the football is it football season it's just about over South Sydney has either one or two more games in the year okay we find out next week I have completely ignored the NRL this this season completely ignor it's been great I when I was living overseas I felt so nostalgic for Australian football and now that I'm home I mean I've got other [ __ ] I've had other [ __ ] going on this year yeah baby gets in the way Stu yeah if they put the football on at between midnight and 2: a.m. that' be great I'd watch that in fact I should be watching some American Sports is probably if you get KO oh yeah you can just play it whenever you want yeah right okay yeah of course so you just put the football on at midnight yeah yeah yeah except I

could have looked up the schore by then so but yeah you have to not do that that's the hard part mhm but it's also sometimes you see the score and you go oh I definitely want to watch that yeah yeah yeah and other times you go there's no point in me watching those those are the best games where you already know the score and you're still like how is that possible I've got to watch this game yep there's a game that you've been playing that I've been wanting to play for a while and I want to know well I assume it's not Wolfenstein New Order which I've been playing a little bit Yeah so I've been playing two G in Tangent because sometimes I'm wide awake and I want something to really think about and sometimes I just yeah that's right so my just

shooting game is Wolfenstein New Order which is great it's not new it's 5 years old 2016 but uh it's excellent um I'll just quick review for anyone who doesn't know the Nazis won the war it's said in the' 60s it sounding very man in the High Castle and I guess it is um in terms of I think that's where they got the idea from in terms of high concept you still play um [ __ ] BJ burwitz or whatever his name is from the original 1993 Wolfenstein um and I love all the little Throwbacks the weapons are the same there's still the shotgun the chain gun the you know like but just all updated a little bit there still there there's still secret passages behind paintings and there's jewels in there that you can collect love it love it but

the story is really in depth and I [ __ ] somebody the other night and I was like I was not expecting a sex scene in this there were no sex scenes in the original Wolfenstein would you like a little spoiler yes you knocked her up hey all right okay twins okay nice they come out in well they don't come out they're in the last game which is very very different in tone in what way um the last game is you don't you playing the daughters oh really and it's a co-op game so you can revive the other one and you to level up your skills and literal Co-op yeah oh let's [ __ ] play that let you know what I'm no no no good no no damn no it's yeah I I've played through it twice

well got to the end twice did you play though no maybe that's the key I don't think that's it yeah fair you have superpowers and you can go invisible see I'm already annoyed that there's a certain amount of like highness yes exactly I want to shoot Nazis not robot Nazi dogs it is funny when the robot dog robot robot Nazi dog jumps on top of you you get to stab it though like when he stabbing in the head I know it is brutal and I violent I don't want to kill animals at any point even vicious ones that are attacking me I'm sorry I'm killing a Nazi robot attacking me we're attributing these Nazi traits to it because the Nazis have put the [ __ ] robot on it but for all I know this dog is usually a

pacifist the dog's coming at me it's gone now no I know I just I don't like it I don't like it but the other one I own this game twice okay no I'm I'm talking about the sinking City game you play cuz I own this game twice cuz there's achievements for Xbox series X and Xbox One they re-released it actually I'm not sure if that's might be one of these weird ones cuz the publisher the developable for this got into a bit of a fight with a lot of their Publishers is that right for what reason um just with I think what happened with frogwares it happened with uh the Sherlock Holmes games yeah um they they got into a fight with their publisher because the publisher wouldn't give them keys or logins or something after the publishing deal ended right

and they ended up re-releasing the Sherlock Holm games like Sherlock Holmes Redux so they could start making money off it again while the other one went off the store like and they now they've now gone on to frogware is now just develops and publishes their own stuff because they've had a few issues and I think this one might be a bit the same why they've got the two versions yeah but I own it twice okay I haven't played it at all so I did I buy this it'll work on both yeah cuz I was going to say I'm fairly certain I bought this when it was when I just had the previous so it'll still work on both yeah you know I well I have been playing it on my series X but yep so there's not I don't think there a series X version okay right it's just I think there's

another version of it yes I see okay uh good so I'm not missing out look this is a very enjoyable game I wouldn't necessarily call this a good game mhm it's clunky the the combat is incredibly unsatisfying right which is the case with a lot of RPG you know what I mean combat is is a second priority to the to the story story I I enjoy the way that so you're a detective you're a private detective you're you're you've landed in this city which is a love crafty it is sinking well it's flooding I don't know that it's necessarily sinking but half of it's underwater you can walk some get spoiler it's sinking just a feeling yeah maybe maybe I think it's a metaphor oh I

do them but um the way that this works this holds your hand absolutely 0% right so there's I mean there's different difficulty levels and you can put you can put the easiest difficulty level which tells you when there's Clues around and stuff but if you're playing it even just on normal um it doesn't tell you when there's Clues and it doesn't tell you what the clues mean and you've got to do that yourself and you could get it wrong and still continue down that track so what it is if you find a bunch of Clues you've got to then go into your thought chamber and Link the C the clues and then make assumptions about that and then you can progress in the game based on those assumptions which may be right or wrong and you'll never know because

you'll just get a different outcome it's exactly the same as the Sherlock Holmes games oh really okay you there's multiple sort of different endings you get to each of the cases doesn't matter if you get them right or wrong progress you wouldn't know if you got it wrong really I could Dem this man to death had nothing to do with it yeah so I only realized that was the case in this when the very very first mission you're trying to find the the killer of this man's son and I I went and did a bit of an uh investigation to be honest cuz I was first playing I didn't do it as in depth as I'm now doing everything very very in depth but I kind of just did a surface in investigation I was like yeah he's guilty went back and told the guy and he's like right well I'm going to

[ __ ] shoot him in the head and he was killed and uh and then I went online and I was like is that always happen no no no it doesn't it doesn't actually if you look a little bit deeper you can find out that um there do like a little bit of police work yeah which when I realize that you have to pretty much you have to look at 100% of the clues before you uh make just condemn a man that's right so the way I'm going to eventually play this game should have a walk through yeah yeah to could except that you'd have to have a walk through for one specific playthrough but then I guess there's always that proper playthrough right yeah so what I've actually started doing with games is I've started to not worry about the achievements as much oh really and not play through with a a guide or

anything and I'm just like I'm going to play through this start the finish and then I'll worry about mopping up the it's very easy with the full motion video games mopping up cuz a lot of those games have been coming out recently they're a bit easier cuz you play through you get your ending you go yep that's the story I would have gotten and then go through and then you can skip like Siege of seene and just go through and get the other ending when you say for motion video games you mean games like that the ones where you got to interview people and [ __ ] what am I talking about oh are you talking about the shape-shifting detective is that what I'm talking about maybe is that what you're talking about that what a game that I have played that is like

that oh that was terrible hold on I'll tell you what exact like Talk Amongst yourself while I open while I open Steam there's a few there's something with the word [Music] yeah like the telling lies one it's got real actors yeah telling lies has great actors there's one uh po Maro something that that's just like a student project like the acting is that bad yeah I I still always think about Night Trap when I think about these type of games I so wish I had have finished making that on the Xbox I know right I could play it on the PlayStation but not the Xbox yeah right

right up until the day it was coming out they said yep it's coming and then they've said nothing since I don't know if there's a whole lot of people asking for this me there's yeah there's about a hundred guys exactly our age who were like wasn't there a full motion video game back in the 90s where you just were perving on a bunch of chicks having a sleepover and then the game yeah cuz yeah the game isn't about the chicks but do you know the vampire originally the game was much more gory there were vampires but then whoever until Hasbro got involved yeah Hasbro were like no you can't you can't have replicatable violence no so yeah you got to make him kooky and just garbage absolutely garbage but it's Stars the lead girl is

the girl from Different Strokes the sister from Different Strokes who ended up I think in prison and then killing herself very sad she had have she didn't have a great time after Different Strokes Welcome to our comedy podcast but she's in it and she's I don't understand it's on the Nintendo switch is it fun on the switch imagine sitting on the train looking over and someone's playing [ __ ] night trap on the switch I want to read no I'll read about it later they built a set for Night Trap right and the doors didn't reach the floor so if you playing Night Trap look at them when they go from room to room there's like that there's like 6 in of wall under each door that they have to step over it's very clearly not a real

house well yeah because how did they get these traps where it's like the floor opens up like y that NS just got this crap installed the game wasn't meant to make sense no well actually I think originally it was but that the the barriers that were put up they were like [ __ ] it just whatever it's whatever it is nearly got all games canceled ever well it got banned completely here in Australia I believe um well this was also the big one that was went to Congress and everything in America with the like this is game's terrible look what's doing for all the people coming out and speaking out against it who never played it oh yeah no one cuz no one played it they would have been better off picking a game anyone played but no cuz you can't spin it yeah yeah you can spin it if you can say this

is what's in it but these vampires suck your soul out of your brain they yeah they weren't actually vampires at the end yeah they and in fact I don't even think they use the word vampires anymore no but um I think that's why they got off by saying there's no way a child could play this and then replicate this type of violence in the real world well I think it was also it was the the people thinking about it was just like naked women running around as well which wasn't there we like to think it was but it no it really wasn't this is very unsexy and it's it's slow as all [ __ ] as well oh one day I will get to play this game yeah yeah um so sink City I do recommend look

it's open world but nothing is playable so you will walk past hundreds of people that you can't speak to and hundreds of doors you can't go in you can only go indoors that are the doors you're meant to go in so it it feels if it's built with a with an open world engine but it is completely on Rails what I think this is is this is them building up to their next game M mhm so they've done a few of the Sherlock holes games and then they've done a few games like this as well and then next game coming out I think it's later this year is a new Sherlock Holmes game that's sort of completely original okay so new story it's you playing like a younger Sherlock Holmes and I think it's a bit more open world so yeah right okay and it's episode one comes out I think they're

doing episodic thing okay okay I don't mind episodic yeah it's like life is strange mhm well the good thing about life strange this time is all came out in one go but I still played it over I got annoyed when Hitman decided to go um episodic to be honest with you mostly cuz I couldn't keep up with what id played and what I hadn't played but yeah did you actually play did you actually even finish episode one man I yeah I did and i' I've played all the Hitman games I [ __ ] love Hitman Hitman is the game check this what did you did you play it on Xbox yeah you want to check I did I [ __ ] finished it I check I'm checking I'm I'm sure I did so the new Hitman the new wait from what year are we talking three

years ago three years ago yeah yeah yeah episode one Yes actually got to look at you well you talk I'll I'll look you up and we'll get to the bottom of it this fighting words man well cuz if you played so much of it you would have got a chiie sink and not necessarily sink and city um is is Lovecraft which I love and the world is beautiful and the characters are excellent and they Ste but they also they steal a lot um from the Lovecraft methos but then just reuse it so I was walking down the street and I saw this doctor's office that said Herbert West MD and if you know the Lovecraft stories you know that's Herbert West Herbert West reanimator right and you're like oh it's reanimator it's Herbert West yeah that's great every [ __ ] Street has a

doctor's clinic on it and it's always Herbert West MD so it's like this is almost like this game should have cost 10 times as much but they didn't have the budget for it but instead of just scaling it down they just kept it the size they wanted but then just didn't make it as complicated as I I I have an apology to make oh do you now um I just looked at uh Hitman and it's uh got the hours played mhm yeah so I've played it for 32 minutes yep and you've played it for 24 hours yes thank you I do have to call you out on one thing though okay didn't finish it no no no well not that you didn't finish it but there's an achievement I think you should have gotten if you were so good at hit there no hold on I didn't say I was good at it

I said I enjoyed playing it unseen assassin assassinate a Target without getting spotted how do you not have that getting spotted [ __ ] once man come on no just say one target without being to be to be fair the first the first episode is only like four missions right yeah one you 24 hours and couldn't kill one person without someone spotting you that's like the only achievement I have the um the older versions are very good at that the these these new ones are difficult they're more difficult than the older ones cuz I remember some of the older ones like you just walked in dressed as a chef poisoned the food and walked out this this does not have that these are [ __ ] and there's multiple

targets per mission in this one too yes and you couldn't kill one being seen no no hold on I could kill one without being seen but there's multiple targets assassinate a Target without getting spotted you could not get into one of them without some there's one where I'm telling you yeah no you're there's one Mission I'm thinking about where you've got a guy tied up but I do take out the guard but he probably sees me before I before I shoot him yeah yeah so that I've got no you're right I don't care if the guy I kill sees me first I only care if other people see me I've got pacified an individual and assassinated a Target without getting spotted they're the only two achievements I have in it I'm pretty sure I have pacify an individual too surely you've got pacify an individual

okay good by shooting them in the face most yeah that's right most um I didn't even complete the prologue all right I'm not a Hitman fan man love Hitman yeah no no but I love the slow this it's kind of how I try to I try to play Wolfenstein like Hitman just sneak in no that that's it's a hard it's hard sometimes hard to play wolfen because you go in with it I'm going to go slow and I'm going to hide and be stealthy no you just got to run around and shoot yeah that's right and that's where the fun is anyway there are a few parts of the game where stealth does come in but for the most part just ymo shoot what I love about Hitman is sometimes you can really just get lucky you know what I mean I mean there in not in this one but in the previous one

there's one where if you just follow the dude long enough he'll just go and stand on the edge of a cliff you know what I mean and you'll just push him yeah you got to get out too that's that's half the challenge with Hitman you don't just you don't just shoot a guy and then goes you win you've then got to leave no the whole undetected the whole thing like the whole you meant to just watch and especially with the different people in different times you got to watch them all work out their schedules they're going to be here at this time and then if I do this yeah and if you follow some of their I mean you could do whatever you want but if they've also got some pretty extravagant setups as well so if you there's one where you um it isn't the newest one

where you you knock out and then impersonate a news aner who's there to do a news report but then you also rig the place where he's going to stand to be wet on the ground and his microphone cord that he's holding and he gets you know and then when they when they hit record on the camera he gets electrocut like it's [ __ ] it feels great once it all works out but you have to play just sort of over and over and over to get the hang of it and work out where it's all going to it's not for me yeah yeah just shoot him in the face and leave oh now I want to play more which is evidently what you do yeah cuz you're always spotted that's yeah yeah yeah and I just shoot everyone and then turn it off yep I've been watching some movies this week because um I as I said I've been on

a very radic schedule and like just in the middle of the night I've got some time I'll pop on a movie um so I like Star Wars is good for that yeah look I I'm having this this dilemma right now of whether to watch movies I've seen and like or to just use this opport to see new movies I wouldn't have otherwise watched which brings me to this point right it's a new segment that I'd like to call I watch M Night shyamalan's new movie so that you don't have to um I wasn't going to anyway I assume you weren't I assume none of the listeners were he's got a new movie coming out called Old which looked to me like his worst concept yet right mhm people go remember the last movie I've seen of his was signs okay comparatively

not that bad very very boring right for an alien in coup of exciting bits two very exciting bits one quite scary bit and then just garbage um and like Signs and all these other movies there's a big scene where ight himself plays a whole character but um this premise of this is three families go down to a beach mhm and the children get old they start to age and they've got to work out why they're getting old before they die now are they maturing or they just like a 5ye old no they're maturing they're maturing so

they're thinking more adult thoughts uh Etc right okay but the adults aren't aging as rapidly as the kids yeah um there's no twist they do tell you what happened but there isn't a Twist per se um but this movie is so terrible like I can this is like the script of a high school kid writing his firstt fund his own movies now or something there's no or he's just got such enough clout on his name alone that there must be some studio going bring us a movie every 5 years don't make it cost any more than $10 million and we'll just let you have it cuz it makes it makes it back and we all get a

nice paycheck and we get to go on holidays or wherever why not yeah cuz I know that Woody Allen I know it's not cool to like Woody Allen and everyone dumped him now but Sony Pictures had a deal with Woody Allen every year we'll give you a million dollar to do whatever you want we won't look at the script we won't we won't make any notes I did the same with Adam Sandler varying degrees of success I'm sure same as Woody yeah well I think he's still going yeah well Adam Sandler didn't touch any children so that's I mean in Hollywood that's the key to a longevity at the moment yeah it's not hard just don't touch them when you want to touch them don't don't yeah yeah oh look alleged alleged jewry's out actually jewy wasn't out jury acquitted Woody but

there's certainly a lot of evidence that points directions but that's that's not for this podcast our comedy podcast old is terrible it's [ __ ] terrible so skip it man I honestly don't know why this is even a movie the premise isn't enough the last two hours this this is like Phantom Menace level script maybe it been better as maybe just like an outer limits episode cut it down to an hour exactly exactly Rod Sterling comes out of the start and goes wouldn't it be crazy if you aged your whole life in just 24 hours and then we see what that looks like for 22 minutes and then it it's ending and you go wow that was really profound mhm done

yes yes exactly right um [ __ ] aw see I should be in Hollywood yeah well they'll probably steal that idea now so yeah they do listen they do listen um that was bad I saw three really good movies though and I'll just rattle these off really quick um last week I mentioned that I was watching the early films of den villain there's no need to get that name pronounced correctly with me yeah I'm sure sure I still wrong um the the guy the guy from June right Dennis yeah um he made a film 10ish years ago called enemy that I hadn't seen before where Jake gyllenhal finds a dude who looks exactly like him it's very good very good however don't watch it if you want them to explain what happens in the

end oh so it's like a Christopher Nolan movie this one makes Christopher Nolan look like he's tied everything all up in NE package really yes yes is that is it mayy you just switched it off at like 15 minutes early evidently I went on the internet to try and find like enemy blined and there's some good theories some very good theories but there's no definitive Theory and you shouldn't have to go to the internet to find out a theory to end of a movie yeah but not only that apparently the actors in the film had to sign um waivers to say they will never say what it's about that's stupid yeah but very well done stop letting these people make movies very tense very well very well crafted the great thing about denil is that if you watch his films in order

which which I absolutely haven't I'm going all over the place but you can really see how he defined his voice over the years y um it's a joy to watch he's he's fast becoming one of my favorite directors he's no Ed garite he is no Ed garite but edar is not always an Ed but I will say this one night in sohoo looks very good yes he needs to get past baby driver oh yeah that I don't yeah I don't know yeah don't know what he was thinking there Matt loves it so we obviously hit a cord with Matt it's not a bad movie it's just not what I want from him yeah I want fun yeah it was so up its own ass too man I just couldn't I couldn't deal with how important that movie seemed to feel that it was yeah no I want go back to making fun yeah more

cornettos yeah yeah um another movie I watch also starting Jake gyllenhal which was in no way fun but was absolutely terrific was the guil which is set entirely in a 911 call center and it's about one operator played by Jake Gyllenhaal taking calls on one specific case throughout the course of a night and is excellent they do explain it in the end so if if you're thinking about just some tense crime Thriller where everything does get wrapped up this is a good one okay no no probably not for you Matt if you're listening Maybe Fe it last one I saw Scottish movie James makoy for the first time I think ever doing his own accent in a movie right it's called he's been allowed it's

called my son which is not a very good name for a movie but I think they just did a search to see what phrase was used the most throughout the script and they just picked that right um but the premise behind this movie is Guy son gets kidnapped he's looking for his son right but but I think I've seen stuff about this yeah so if you've seen anything it's probably the conceit which I actually didn't know H explained this to me afterwards all the other actors except for James McAvoy were given the script and had rehearsal time on the day they brought James makoy the lead character in and just said react and we'll film it mhm yep that's what I've heard that yeah he just just he all his stuff was just all improv yeah so he had no idea what was going on he just love

for just to throw some weird [ __ ] in there I know right yeah yeah like it's all about to be yes Ed so I'm going to react like this I'm going to get my dick out now what are you going to do about it I was wondering where you were going to go I I I I assumed it was going to be dick related and I wasn't disappointed y yeah Rob speak dick news there is Dick news there's some very disturbing dick news all right take us through the dick news PR the second all about Dick it's dick news this is something that came out in some UK Journal that I there's more to it they' they've written this in a very nice way they've been very kind to this young man haven't they the 15-year-old boy was triggered by sexual

what's more disturbing to me personally is when you see yeah the photo of what the cable now looks like I mean bloody to say the least but also just the amount of Tangled that it is and where they've had to cut to get this thing even out of this poor boy cuz the whole thing the to get that far and that Tangled and where it was Tangled he had to go in a very long way for that to even start to happen I don't now look I've never purposely put anything into my dick right I'll say that right now y I wouldn't know how and I would assume it would take a certain amount of like pressure yeah effort yeah like it's not you'd have to really want to do it this isn't

oh the the other one um yeah like um the little short one the blonde one oh yeah yeah exactly those those guys but he was just yeah I think no for me he just he was always funny it was that dead pen but not dead pen at the same time for me he's always Bert Reynolds on Celebrity Jeopardy Y and I'm not a huge fan of um Will Farrell by by any means but everyone who was on That Celebrity Jeopardy sketch was excellent those were just so well written mhm and and Norm as uh Bert Reynolds Turd Ferguson yep just so memorable yeah he he he's not in a lot no I think a lot of more most of his stuff was probably more stand up that yeah I think it's cuz he had a couple of

movies SNL Norm show but a lot of has some cameos in like Adam sand movies like in Adam sand movies Billy Madison he just his friend who hangs out by the pool yeah um then even later he play he was like my name's ear and stuff like as a spin-off character for that for a couple of episodes but yeah I don't know I think yeah you know what he was he was best on talk shows when he was being interviewed and he would tell stor that would just went for [ __ ] ages and sounded like they were going in One Direction as some kind of punch line to a joke and then he would just spin it to be about something completely different than unexpected and you know you'd always see the hosts in tears yep well even Annie RoR his sister Annie RoR put a tweet up going he's a message from my

sister and his sister's like remember that time I came to see you in the office and you were off rehearsing something and Norm was there I was 18 nor just sat down and spoke to me and asked about my my life for like an hour and it's like the that's the only person who I've met from like all of your like quotequote famous friends that actually was wow interested in who I was not just so um jokes aside he died of cancer and apparently he's had this for some time and and just hadn't made it public so yep seems to be the seems to be the new thing it's yeah I think people been happen a bit lately I think people when they find out they have cancer are so [ __ ] angry at cancer itself just at

the concept of cancer that they're like [ __ ] you you're not going to ruin my life I've got things I want to do first I'm going to get them all out of the way and if you kill me after that mhm fine but yeah no no just yeah just become the thing yeah going to get cancer not tell anyone and just work through all these terrible it must be hard though and I remember you telling me years ago that when you had when you had the Big C your family weren't using the word cancer no for for a Time and um and then your oncologist I think at one point were like first say cancer because that's what you're up against so that's what we've got to call it and it was funny my mom when she had cancer same thing she wouldn't say it she just didn't want to say cancer that's what it
