I mean that's that makes more sense than if if you don't let them pursue their heart's desires they just piss I guess the bug was that they were expressing interest in their siblings and okay which is hilarious that would kind of be horrifying though as the play' be like oh God no no uh see he's a and there a different I don't think I would I think I would be like let's pursue this let's see where this is going yeah yeah fair enough um the ask to be girlfriend/boyfriend wants to Target appropriate Sims now oh this one I think's probably a better fix and this one I think it's probably more of an issue adult Sims no longer Tag Teens in flous Sunny social bunny posts Define teens and Define tag so I'm thinking it's sort of like

social bunny is sort of like a Twitter thing and I'm thinking like it's just flutatious posts sure I don't know but hold on hold on back up yeah I know there I guess there's a fake Social Network in there that's what I'm gathering from this The Sims are [ __ ] posting on social media and tagging one another should we be con oh should we be like Skynet level concerned at this point I've played Sims I've played Sims 2 but this is Sims 4 so I've skipped three and now we're into four if the Sims becomes senent Advan take over the world we are screwed it sounds like they already are most people who play this game torture these people yeah okay so I have seen a video where this the person playing you can get a maid to come and clean the house and

while the maid was cleaning they got her to go in and clean a little tiny room and then they took the door away and replaced it with a wall and just walled her up basically in the walls of the house until she died of starvation abolutely horrifying the police came that's been since Sims one the police came right the Sim police couldn't find her cuz she was walled up in the house right oh Jesus then her ghost haunted The Sims that lived there oh wow there's a [ __ ] you can do in this game apparently see that's amazing that's amazing because OB like the same people that were like what level of grandchild can you [ __ ] were also like what happens if you torture a maid to death yeah what if you wall her up inside the house well I guess the cops

will come right but they're not going to be able to find her obviously I mean yeah the thing about that is that's grown since like Sims 1 so they've built I don't think they designed it to be able to do that to begin with that's what people did I saw built house and the Sims lived in it and occasionally they just went off to work when I played it that's all that happened yeah mine just kept complaining I want to sit on a chair and I was like you can't afford a chair cuz you didn't go to work today sit on the ground yeah stop pissing in the corner get out outside Nature's toilet the outside magnificent I did play Sims 2

and my I put a I gave my sim a telescope up on the roof of his house and this is actually the funniest thing that ever happened to me playing The Sims is my sim went up on the roof and he was using his telescope and it popped popped up with a little thought bubble of the neighbor's wife no and then so he's looking through the telescope and then the neighbor the the husband comes running up the street and like bursts in and starts yelling at him wow again somebody coded this what happens if your Sims spies on a neighbor's wife mhm amazing that's great that's that's that's really good I was speaking to a tester of Sims once and he was explaining that once he had to put in

the ticket for when Sims turn into a wizard they have an abortion oh so there was if you Sim was pregnant and I think it was if he changed into a wizard outfit he did something like that that the Sim no longer be presid and there be no baby oh yeah that's horrifying that's also horrifying that's illegal in America I'll have you know yeah that's right fix they got that out of the game states rights Matt that's right you're not you're not allowed to have an abortion you are you are allowed to be a grand wizard though that's clear on that that's different yeah yeah yeah um I've got some some other comments I want to make regarding spying on neighbors uh Matt do you really want to make them in a public for I'm going to wait until

until we're talking about 80s TV before we bring that up all right unless that's now I like ad TV I was going to say my lawn update was just simp the other thing I was going to say was that oh yeah it also doesn't have to be moan in summer when it's cuz it's really hot here right now when I say really hot I mean it's not as hot as it is in Sydney in summer but it's very humid here so it feels actually feels hotter here to me than it ever did in oh your humidity is what it kills you yeah yeah yeah uh and the lawn just stopped growing I mean it's also turned brown and is dying but I don't have to mow it so oh so what you're saying is you either have dead lawn under ice or dead lawn under the hot sun is it is it maybe dead because it needs water yeah

yeah yeah yeah so if if you if the heat was there and you actually just watered your grass and it would still probably grow you allowed to water grass not allowed to water grass here I thought you could water your garden but you but the water restrictions prohibited Watering your lawn where where you been out of water restrictions for so long now I don't get water restrictions cuz I have a well um and it's basically just my problem if I use up all the water in the well is the water in your house reliant on that well h a well yes you go out every day and wind a handle and a bucket comes up and that's the water you've got for that day there's a pump it pumps from outside that's why if the power goes out we have no water cuz there's no nothing to pump

it um and there was one time in summer I left this I left the sprinkler on the sprinklers on and we ran out of well water and then I had to shut everything off and we just didn't have any water until it you know the ground water level came back up again yeah right H yeah I don't think we are I think other places around here are but I'm not cuz I like I said I'm using Nature's water Jesus water tank not the government's water yeah no water Lawns and Gardens can okay great well I mean I don't have a lawn yet I mean I do I'm just not allowed at it so oh if you if it's new Turf which your will be you can do it anytime you want Oh okay that's great if it's not it's I think it's you can't water it

between 10: and 4: when it's the hottest part of the day which is the most pointless time for water anything because it just evaporates are you allowed to go andow and water and mow your lawn Dan or you got to stay away for now I'd have to get into the house to then get out to the backyard so oh that's fair you a fence country you not a big fence either yeah it's [ __ ] fence i s toai the other day I'm like [ __ ] it let's just go live in it what are they going to do it's a good point what they arrest you for dress passing my house what are they going and who's going to arrest me who's going to call the police and say there's a family living in their house down the street I know there is a problem in America I don't know if it's

the same in a but there's a problem in America with people just moving into houses that are for sale this isn't for sale Luke it's buil this house there is nobody living in it it is my house I have paid money for it are you sure the Builder's not living in it he's like oh it's not no he can't yet mate sorry yeah I yeah yeah I I drive past it every now and again just to make sure that your build is not there yeah there's still security and there's still a fence a gate fencing the whole place off and [ __ ] hell and they're haming money too they I mean it's the counter who's [ __ ] Us Now by just holding out on all this anyway I don't think they do get just to screw you over no one doing it to screw me over what what I mean is what did you do

like it cuz it's just that repetitive job you don't have to think and you just set targets for yourself then or you try and beat your go your sort of your hourly numbers every day and it just makes it fun I used to be yeah just those mindless jobs I just I'm really good at I have to think sounds it doesn't sound good to me I'm going to be honest I mean good look just to just to check that you are the boss where you work right yes yeah yeah I hope you make your staff appreciate every day that you would just prefer a Mindless Labor job over looking after them I tell them every now and again like i' I've done I've done it every now and again as well just when we've got something that's quickly needs to be done and it's just like it's just

like transfer it to someone after like the court starts or anything like that like then cuz actually I think that there's some um this kind of crosses over a little bit into the Alex Jones news because the part of there's some bankruptcy type stuff in there that kind of is causing issues for him too M well in addition to a bunch of other [ __ ] stupid things he did yeah but I I I I think he's got money squirrel away doesn't he or do we think this Court ruling is going to send him broke Alex Jones so so yeah he's lost the trial against the Sandy Hook parents which is well he actually he'd already lost it to begin with well what I was reading into it is he he he he'd been told to like Supply evidence and cuz During trials there's this phase called Discovery where both

sides share their arguments and what they're going to use as evidence and they passings he was always ordered to like give text messages and emails and stuff and he just ignored it the entire time yeah he got a default judgment for that because of that and so the default judgment is what we're at now so the default judgment is you've lost like this they've they've already won the defamation case side but the reason why the trial so has to go ahead they have to now prove the financial side of it so what the the emotional damages and stuff like that and so this court is just about how much money he has to pay cuz he lost it by just ignoring the court over and over there's a good chance if he hadn't have and he had have sort of

worked with him there's a good chance he may have won or the court cost would have would have been a lot less this was a [ __ ] honestly from like so many ways is far less than what they've asked for cuz I think they originally asked for $150 million for and and and just to be clear we're talking about just emotional damage yeah there's still another one for yeah um there's more coming defamation but um but we're but I think what he's looking at is is $2 million a piece for each of the families right is that you know how much his lawyer offered what how much a do a dollar oh [ __ ] off yeah no a dollar per per charge or not per per something like ended up being like $8 in total I think the only person on this planet who's more of a scumbag than Alex Jones must

be Alex Jones's [ __ ] lawyer I don't know man seven of them I think he agrees with you about how much of a scumbag Alex Jones is based on what happened the other day because so Alex Jones he's been in court doing this whole thing for a week now and lying apparently about the fact that he said there's no I don't there's no text messages or emails on my phone that's why went through I searched all my records there i' never said Sandy Hook yeah exactly I never said yeah the word Sandy Hook said Sandy Hook yeah so thenext mes the lawyer for the for the the other side I don't know exactly what the positions are in a case like this the other the parents the lawyer of the parents pulls up text messages from his phone on the screen and you can see on his face he's like the [ __ ] and then

they start reading through them and it's like Sandy Hook Sandy Hook and then his lawyer says to him the other lawyer says do you know where I got these Mr Jones and Jones no he's like your lawyer sent them to me your lawyer sent us an entire digital copy of your phone two weeks ago and when I said to them did you mean to send us this they made no attempts to Market as confidential so it became like within like after a certain number of day 10 days or something like that it became legally admissible yeah which is why I'm here right now and and he goes Jones do you know what perjury is I just need to make sure that you understand what that word means and I'm going to we're going to ask you some more questions and just I need also need you to know you can plead the fifth if you

want to at this point and then there these photos of his face like you just see he's like about to have a [ __ ] heart attack so he did try to play it off at the start that no no no I I I authorized them to give it to you and then I think you really sunk in what they actually had and now the apparently the January 6th uh commission that's looking into that that whole business um they are they couldn't get his phone off him so now they've just subpoenaed it from the parents lawyer who will give it to them and they'll happily hand it over so yeah I think I think this part of a problem like cuz he this is like his seventh group of lawyers that he's had sort of representing and I think that's his sort of his own downfall like and that sort of led to this mistake well

there's this theory that like was it a mistake I mean the guy obviously would get in a lot of trouble if it was proved that he did this on purpose just to [ __ ] Alex Jones but it's it's a nice but hold on it was subpoenaed by the court right surely the lawyer is he under obligation to share No certain evidence if he has it he's just spent two he's just spent the whole week in court saying no we already gave you everything right he didn't know that they had received his phone he just said no there wasn't anything in the phone and he never gave it to the court they got it because they it got accidentally sent to them but I reckon it would have been on part of the discovery they wanted the text messages I think it probably was there but they were trying to hide it I don't know

we're not lawyers Alex Jones is a terrible person agree yeah we can agree on that we can agree on that and unfortunately even after this he's going to become bankrupt but he's going to be rich person bankrupt well his the problem too right cuz there there's actually another clip of the judge telling him right cuz he keeps saying oh he's he's gone bankrupt and the judge says to him Mr Jones you have not declared bankruptcy your company declared bankruptcy but he withdrew it says here $62 million he he personally withdrew from the company right so even though the company's bankrupt the judge is like you are not bankrupt Mr Jones you have sworn an oath to tell the truth and that is not the truth you cannot tell the jury again that you are

bankrupt stop saying that oh wow it's like [ __ ] hell imagine I wish I could be have $62 million and be bankrupt he's not bankrupt luk stop saying stop saying it stop telling our listeners that he's bankrupt he's not bankrupt yeah cuz I'm sure our listeners will think I'm on Alex Jones's side oh you I don't know you're into the conspiracy theories he's got some wild ones I am but I want to sensible no I want to debunking conspiracy theories well next in absolute [ __ ] news um is somebody else who has to pay damages and this is Kevin spacy who um l know you think Kevin spacy didn't do anything wrong but uh he has been ordered to pay $30 million us to the producers of House of Cards which was the show that he was fired from when all

these allegations came out because that was what they estimated uh their loss was based on having to fire him did his contract say no rape because that that's how they got in my bet I think it said who he was allowed to rape specifically and the people he raped were some of the people that were on that list yeah named as non yeah that's how they get you I think the safest thing to do usually is to just not rape anyone that's what I that's how I I manage to to to do that so I'm not quite sure how how I live my life almost every day without raping anyone almost every day almost every single day Luke well it just it just seems like he and his friends have a lot of trouble just not doing that so they're not his friends Matt they're people he's raped no I I in Brian Singer

these young indigenous girls have been taken from their families and applied with drugs and and all interfered with and all these things are not too isolated incidents that it's part of a of of of a a bigger cultist situation yeah right and look and I I think I've started to sort of understand a little bit of where he's coming not not where he's coming from but sort of like the parents cuz the parents probably when that sort of not relationship but when that contact first starts they probably don't see it as a bad thing sure there's like another indigenous actor who who's like I would be suspicious but yeah be be suspicious but to start off with oh okay so they're

trash yeah I know with that's why that's what when you said that I was like surely now they will scrap it and and yeah what will their excuse be if they don't yeah although to be fair Warner Brothers has like just flat out canceled back girl thrown in the trash and basically apparently it's they they've merged with Discovery they're doing all this housekeeping or whatever and the the the word about town appears to be that it was [ __ ] and so they were like you IM not to spend the money on marketing and just [ __ ] this thing off how bad could this be if compared to all the other garbage DC movies that Warner Brothers have put out that they've gone this one has to go in the bin guys I've also read somewhere that this is maybe also just part of for tax purposes yeah

I saw that which is bizar we've spent all this money so we write that off so it's again I know nothing about economics so but yeah I've read that and I just thought it's a bit crazy cuz they they're worried that they're not going to make the money back off the movie cuz it's not that good and also it was going to go streaming which was weird but hold on they're not going to make the money back so they're not going to do anything with it can take it out of their taxable income but it's not like the tax department refunds them for the money they spent right no but I think the thing is right that they haven't done any marketing for this yet really and I think often the marketing budget at least they're just cutting their losses the budget they don't want to put more

money yeah exactly either you spend another 90 million trying to Market this thing and it and it's trash and you've wasted 180 million or you just B it now and you've throw this in the bin yeah I guarantee we will see this movie in about two years you reckon the back girl cut I don't know who directed this yeah I give it two years I think it's going to be as part I think it's something to do with taxes but there'll be enough outcry now especially because of how far long it is like they finished filming I reckon there will be a they come out about two years that's why it's weird that they didn't they're not going to do this with the flash if they don't do this with the flash they can't just say oh it's already finished like no but you've done it with Batgirl so what's

come on you know and it's not like Batgirl was like a small budget was like aund million unless they like yeah back was [ __ ] and Ezra Miller is a [ __ ] but the movie is still good so they come out and said Mone and if they say that if they come out and go look theater goinging audience we know that Ezra Miller kidnaps drugs and [ __ ] underage kids but even knowing that this movie is so is so good that you will you will forgive all of that we have weighed his crimes up against this movie the quality of this film we just you got to see it there's Kane there's Godfather Part Two And there's Ezra Miller The Flash but look it's Michael Keaton as Batman the problem is is I don't even think it's

they I don't even think they want to show it because they think it's really good they just want to show it because it progresses the other movies on that they're canceling that's I about to say well no there's another Aquaman they're not they've not canceled that right oh that's true that's true yeah I think it's the other Aquaman the Wonder Woman it's all that type of stuff and I think this all the new Flash are also leading you just you reminded me actually yeah because I think Michael Keaton is Batman in Aquaman the two or something and so I think probably you might be right this it might actually [ __ ] everything up if they might just not make sense of anything now yeah yeah I don't think they're pushing ahead because they think it's like the greatest movie ever I

think so in other words in other words Warner Brothers Two tent pole movies for 2023 are this [ __ ] cult leaders version of The Flash and the musical of Joker starring Lady Gaga oh yeah that they put a teaser out for that which is you know did they they did it's confirmed 100% confirmed cuz Lady Gaga shared a little teaser of this is an animated thing that says Phoenix and then it's got his silhouette and then Gaga and then her silhouette and it's them dancing together oh and it's Joker um oh Joker too I can I can actually see it though I oh it actually sort of makes sense now it's fine okay cuz he's insane and he's in an asylum yeah it's just going to be those

launched for some reason for example the witches and uh some other movies not heard of yeah they're going away from family and kids stuff so they've also canceled like the Scooby-Doo just throw the movies in the B there cartoon movie they're they're just going we're going more adult so anything that's for kids or family no is that why James gun has come out this week and put his hand up and said I will direct the next Scooby-Doo if I'm allowed to make itrated maybe cuz I thought that came out of the blue but this kind of makes sense the movie that they cancel was an animated movie like it wasn't live watch an arated animated movie directed by James gun I I I'd prefer to see a live action they've pulled the witches remake super

intelligence which is a Melissa McCarthy movie uh Seth Rogan movie an American pickle uh yeah some sci-fi romcom moonshot oh see see that's making no sense they're not like kids mean movies and they've left they've left eight they're called Max Originals right so they've gotten rid of all of them except eight of them one of them is the Zack sniders Justice League and then a couple and then yeah other seven when you're triing the fat and you're like yeah like the standard is Zack Schneider's Justice League and and these other movies really don't match up to that standard yeah or is it just a case of they're doing this at the moment because they're making a lot of changes and they can now take these movies in sell them elsewhere other people the show and they get a bit

of money maybe I mean I'm sure there's a reason it's just it's just so it's just out of nowhere right the other day they just were like we've canceled the Batgirl movie and even the director of the I think it was two directors of Batgirl were like what the [ __ ] and like posted on social media saying we're [ __ ] devastated like we didn't know they were doing this they've just canned that movie and then they've now pulled all this [ __ ] as well off HBO Max it's like okay I'll say this though the made for if the made for HBO Max movies are as bad as the made for Netflix movies then I don't think it's any big loss those made for Netflix movies they look great they got great casts they got great directors and writers but there's just something not very good about all

of them and I watch I'm not in them I watch the greyman the other day or whatever that one's called Chris Evans um and that handsome guy that solves crime in New York City on his days off uh Ryan Gosling was that Ryan Gosling and and who else who else is in it Dan say your name oh Anna D armus is in it yeah thank you which movie oh she's he plays a Hitman who's uh he's a Hitman who's got to kill another Hitman and then another another Hitman comes to kill him you're thinking of the V idti absolutely aw it's all of them it's all of those movies it's terrible oh ARA D armus is in a little bit of controversy this week not controversy but the internet's angry at her oh is this cuz

she said James Bond shouldn't be a woman no it's not even that um did you watch the trailer for the new movie I think it's called blonde where she plays oh no I know what that is I I didn't I didn't Mar I was about to say Marilyn Manson I'd watch the [ __ ] out that would love that no but but she plays um Marilyn Monroe EV Rachel Wood plays herself and it's [ __ ] oh God Anna dama says Marilyn Manson and it's just like a harrowing tale [ __ ] Matt just ejaculated you can't you can't see it because it's an audio podcast but Matt is very excited by this I think if you listen very closely you can hear it yeah I'm put the sound effect in um no she plays Marilyn mundro she absolutely looks the part um but she

doesn't in any way make an attempt to do the voice so she's using her own voice as many actors choose to do who aren't put at accents she's like the voice she's got she's going to use it yeah yeah so she sounds what is she Cuban she sounds like a Cuban she does English is a second language yeah correct and people are saying that's not what Marilyn Monroe sounded like and the filmmakers are going that's not quite what she looked like either it's a different yeah that's right this is an actress playing her it's not her yeah yeah died that's right in fact if you watch to the end of the movie we we show a bit of that too um but again to be clear this is an actress playing her not the real person um but people are [ __ ]

angry well she can't have a Hispanic accent and it was like why not who cares who [ __ ] cares she didn't she didn't even speak English when she first started in Hollywood like she had to learn I forget the the first movie she said that the first movie she did she had to be like taught how to say the lines yeah she lied about being able to speak English as well didn't she and then sort of wa like look at her now like in interviews like her accent's not even that strong that's why I mean I can't yeah okay be annoyed whatever but I think it's pretty stupid like I agree so so this reminds me of two things number one this reminds me of Jos wied and saying that um maybe galado didn't understand that he wasn't trying to molest her because she doesn't speak

English well I don't think he was trying to molest her I think he was just [ __ ] he was saying you have to let me film someone rubbing your boobs even though she didn't said he said I you will not have a [ __ ] career if you don't let me film this and then he said oh it was just a joke maybe you should get it and she said no I I got it she's like I understand threats in seven languages speak English pretty well mate um but I Al I saw that movie her first um English speaking role it's called knock knock oh yes and I I watched it the other day completely randomly popped up and I'm like oh K Reeves I'll give it a look um not bad kind of like a horror Thriller crawler yeah yeah a scroller carer Reeves is at home alone

he plays m Goen Ana damus and Eli roths beautiful but beautiful but slightly less attractive than um anas but only slightly wife is also in it they knock on his door and they say oh we're beautiful [ __ ] and he goes look I'm married I've got kids um I can't [ __ ] you and they're like but you will and he was like yeah obviously I will and so he does um right and then they torture him and and um threaten to tell his family and ruin his life and and all this stuff and the whole rest of the movie is him just regretting [ __ ] them okay what what what was their goal I don't quite understand was he rich or something it's ke Reeves look it's not Eli Roth's best work cin fever it is not it is one of those movies where you

watch all the way to the end and go what was the point of that well but yeah she also came out the other week and said that um there's no reason for James Bond to be a woman and they should not need to just gender flip characters they should just make a character a great female character if they want yeah exactly which and I think that does ignore the fact that you know people won't people will go see a James Bond movie even if it's [ __ ] and maybe not think it's actually as [ __ ] as it actually is you know what I mean there's like a there's like a an effect that an established franchise has where it kind of dulls the shitness of certain things sometimes and plus we have already picked an ex James Bond it's Rahul yeah that's true yeah but then I guess she's

got a point too in that if they did come out and say oh the next James Bond's a woman well that's got a whole bunch of extra baggage too so I guess I'm maybe I I don't know it's complicated I can see why they wouldn't do it but also I don't know like I'm saying you know James Bond fans will go see James Bond no matter what and they'll like it but if they were like James Bond's a woman now maybe that's not the case so I don't know I've just convinced myself to the opposite position where I started 10 seconds ago well the thing about James Bond is it's not just a character it's an archetype for a certain type of man yeah yes but but they're having to change the archetype because remember but they've changed the archetype already exactly and he still is Beats women yeah but he beats and

rapes women far less he slaps them because sometimes you just have to she wants to get last you watch some of those early James Bond movies like with with Modern Eyes he's not just a scallywag he's a rapist yeah oh yeah yeah well they do that a bit in the new on too like it's you know he like that uh in Spector with Monica Belushi that was that was disgusting yeah and they they knew that yeah yeah so they do and that's people you can't take out Bond the way he's a terrible person he's done horrible things yeah you don't want him around but they started addressing the pier brosman era of James Bond in the in Golden ey which I think is the only pierce brosman era Bond movie worth

watching um sure Judy D's character You Know M was gender flipped to a woman which makes perfect sense because m is a designation not a person um you could argue that about Bon too there's a million fan theories but uh she basically came in and her job was to say I've replaced the man who used to have this job because he was a [ __ ] idiot and guess what Bond you're also a [ __ ] idiot and right we're going to fire you if you don't shape up pull yourself into the 21st century um but then by the second movie they were like n it's just him hanging out with chicks again there there is another 007 in the new Bond in no time to die that's true and it's a and it's a woman but she's not another James Bond it's not it's not

news so I'm happy to leave it it's Will Smith he's old news yeah what What 80s TV show have you been watching Luke um I've actually I've been watching a 90s show I started watching Babylon 5 again the same episode 14 of season one is Spies Like Us an 80s movie I guess you could put that on the pile yes that would be an 80s movie you know what else is an ' 80s movie about spies and is very funny top secret I lost it still in the shrimp rack it's probably [ __ ] Blu-ray player have a look press eject it'll pop out apparently we've been watching the same show Dan yeah it's funny when you sent this to me I was like no way and it's so random and I assume that I started watching this for the same reason as you did as cuz what's it on oh

well see that's the thing here you can get it on Amazon but it's not on Prime you have to pay for it separately either per episode for three bucks or I think like $15 for per series okay that's not too bad which is it's not bad if you want to watch the whole say i s the seven se's meetings yeah so I I found it on a different streaming platform um but the reason I'm not as far ahead I actually only watched the pilot episode which is actually a cliffhanger for a two-parter and I didn't watch the second part because the second part was out of sync in the version I discovered oh I hate that so I um I'm going to have to seal the Seas myself and uh but I just basically wanted to see a um a beautiful red Ferrari 308 driving around some lovely Seaside roads and I was not disappointed

especially since the entire plot of the first part of the first episode is him trying to get his hands on that car yes we're talking about magdum Pi I don't think we've said that yet oh maybe we haven't I'm looking forward to watching more and and Matt from what I understand you have watched a lot more I've watched I've watched a few more episodes yeah I think I'm like uh I'm a pretty good way into the first season and I started watching this because I think I'd said this on the podcast a while ago I was listening to that um it's Ty and that guy it's a um the expans podcast and um they were talking about magn pi and how there's a there's a particularly a two-part episode in I think it's since season 3 so I'm not up to it yet where

it's actually quite serious and and he's like magn Pi is kind of quite a hardass in it and it's very morally gray and then they're saying when they were kids and they saw that they were like [ __ ] this show is for real and I was like really cuz that's not what I think of when I think Magnum PI same yes I feel like at all I'm pretty sure my dad watched it a couple times but it was certainly not like hard-hitting T no but now I'm watching it and it and it isn't but it is because it's got I certainly didn't pick up that he was a n veterin right and it's got flashbacks to Vietnam in episodes and all his friends in Hawaii or all his his squadmates from Vietnam and plon yeah there's literally there's an episode where he has a bunch of flashbacks because of something that

happens and he's he's they're obviously bothering him and at the end of it he goes up to TC you know his friend who flies the helicopter and he goes do you ever like get you know thoughts about what happened back in n and you just kind of can't get him out of your head like at night and then his mate like and it cuts to like a flashback of him as well yeah and then it comes out and he goes n not me mate and then magnum's like oh yeah not me either and then it like then the episode ends and I was like [ __ ] hell uhuh wow that's sort of that's a big thing to well the pilot episode is about one of his other Army buddies coming back and getting murdered yes and then like it's it's I mean the show is Goofy as all [ __ ] but yeah tons of like

looking into the camera when it when do something silly winking at the audience and there's a bit where um there's these two flight attendants that state cuz like so the plot is magnum's living at this Rich guy's house cuz he's hired him to test his security or something and then they just kind of abandon that Robin something Robin Masters so he's he's he's an author of erotic fiction right in right they say that once or twice but they don't really lean into it you never ever see his face but in a couple of episodes you hear him on the telephone so you hear his voice and do you know who plays him no it's Mr Aon Wells [ __ ] off is it yeah this this show is just sucking more and more I

know but you mentioned the Ferrari so like his the reason he's staying there the whole setup for this show is that he's been hired to steal the Ferrari to test Higgins who's the head head of security at the house and he's allowed to stay at the guest house while he does that for some reason so he just basically he lives in the guest house of this Mansion Higgins is head of secureity he's got to steal the Ferrari he steals the Ferrari and then he just has the Ferrari for the whole mind there is a there is a part where cuz he beats Higgins like Higgins and so Higgins says you have the car and the guest house and the rest of the place is off limits to you why why is is making deal with this making that deal this guy was just hired to do this

thing no no no but then Magnum goes can I sometimes use the tennis squs he's like you can sometimes use the tennis squs and they were like fine fine that's just I don't know I don't know if this is but the rest of the episode at least everywhere he goes in that car everyone goes why are you driving around this this is happens again again later on people just laugh they he oh that's reoccurring yeah it's a re and joke through like all six seasons I think but what I don't understand there's this one part M that I want to talk to you about from the first episode and you've mentioned some other parts down the track that are questionable as well so there's this one part in the First episode cuz there's there's two girls that seem to be living

in the Mansion as well so I don't know who they are maybe they rotate but in the first episode there's two beautiful women living in the M oh sure sure yeah yeah the flight attendants yes yes yes flight that does that that does happen again yes so Magnum comes home the Friday things are heading down to the pool and they're like why you come down to the pool with us we're going to Skinny Dip and he's like why don't you head down there first and then he goes back to his guest house gets a pair of binoculars and goes in spies on them from the B what and it's like mate they invited you down there he does go down later but yeah you're right why did he do that what are you doing you weird pervert let me double check in fact RS his he Rings his mate and starts talking

to him while he's looking and it's like just go down there and [ __ ] them there's an episode later where he comes home and then they Higgins has just let people stay in the guest house again the two there's two flight attendants and any so they're talking and this goes on for a bit and then they she goes oh I'm going to go down for a swim um I feel like I need to refresh after the full body search Higgins gave was on the way in and then Magnum goes all right I'll catch up with you and he goes to walk in through the bedroom turns and like looks right down the barrel of the camera and goes full body search Higgins and walks into the room magnificent so weird but like

awesome yeah what I love about does take has a um kind of a reverse comb over he's like found the part of his receding line that recedes the most and parts it there he's just leans into it I think the reason why I think the reason why you just sort of watching it and sort of finding it different to when we watched the first time cuz we would have seen these shows when we young AG but we would have been kids mhm this stuff went my I just saw the Hawaiian shirt man solving crimes I knew what a detective was and detectiv were cool there's an episode where he gets he gets a call from his friend who says oh there's a woman who wants to speak to you and he goes to meet with her and it's not a woman it's kids and the kids say we need

you to help find our teacher she fell in love and abandoned us we're here on a school trip right they don't really dwell on how ridiculous that is and there's more to it than that and if you've seen it you know how they going to pay him but the point is he has this whole thing going on with these kids and he's like oh [ __ ] kids and he gets into all these dramas and stuff and then later on he's at the bar and his friend says oh there's a woman on the phone wants to speak to you and he goes unless she's 16 or older I'm not interested and I or older or older and because and the way it's done the way it's done is like no he is talking about what you think he's talking about as far as I can tell now even if in Hawaii 16 is the legal age of consent how old's Magnum

supposed to be I'm guessing early to mid-30s at least right it's still wrong it's still a very big age Gap I mean maybe maybe they didn't mean that maybe he just meant I don't want to talk to school children and it's not it was the 8S not a sexy they me that but yeah that's C the way I took it was mustache unless I can [ __ ] him I don't care that's right and to be clear anyone over 16 is someone [ __ ] there's an episode where he falls in love with this Chinese girl who works at a antique dealership and he her brother's name is hoe and he walks in to the store and he looks at the guy and then he goes hi ho and then he looks into the camera and

goes Jesus what wow cuz it's it's a seven dwarfs joke I guess it's like the caliber yeah that's right topical um s dwarf's humor so I also checked out another 80s TV series um for a similar reason uh I had to look at Miami Vice and I never saw that there's there's a bigger story is because I was I was watching I watched an old Michael Man movie last week called the keep because okay I'll tell you the quick backstory as fast as I can I was watching a YouTube video where the two guys that compos the score for stranger things oh yeah uh talked about their

influences right and they said that their biggest influence was the sound track to an 80s 1983 movie called The keep and I was like I've not seen that and so I watched it and it's I I love finding 80s gems this is a World War II era science fiction movie directed by Michael man who's probably more famous for heat with Robert daero and alucino which is a quintessential Heist movie um uh but it's it's it's got um Gabriel burn plays a Nazi oh uh and a quite a young um sir Ian McKellen plays this Jewish scientist who is made young again when he befriends this demon that's inside this old fortress that the Nazis are trying to occupy that sounds amazing it is it is amazing that now it is the very

personification of a slow burn it is a very very slow moving movie to the point where even a lot of it is shot unnecessarily in slow motion but but it's very very cool and obviously Michael man just watched I guess the one or two movies that um Ridley Scott had made up until that point because he's just go on every scene put a backlight and fill the room with smoke that's how we're going to shoot this but it's it's it's very cool so then I started kind of Googling Michael man and I kind of casually knew that he was responsible for the old Miami Vice um oh I didn't I thought of yeah I didn't either I'm like well that might mean that it's quite cuz he's the crime connoisseur and maybe that means that Miami Vice is a decent show and it

is um it but also they drive around they also drive around in a um Ferrari in a Ferrari um the tester Roso which is but a white one which I think is is a waste cuz testos literally means redhead and they're supposed to be the red ones but uh but I also found out that unlike the Ferrari 308 in Magnum PI this one is actually a Corvette with a Ferrari body kit on it cuz they couldn't afford to shoot with a real tester Rosser but then Ferrari sued them after the first season and went you do it okay you're going to buy a real [ __ ] Ferrari next time and so from season two onwards it's a real Ferrari no like they did it in a nice way though yeah yeah yeah that's funny they supplied as well well it's I haven't watched enough

of it yet to know whether or not it's uh as fun end up more on boats don't they well it's Miami so it's very like between here and Cuba kind of crime right yeah I think they they drive around in speed boats but part of the uh yes they definitely do um part of part of the the reason that they drive around in this nice car is because they um they're allowed to take cars have been impounded from drug dealers so that's how they justify why just two cops have this [ __ ] $150,000 car yeah they're not on the take yeah no they just get to do that great I think I just need to embrace the fact that I like old shows cuz I think it is it's the fact that got serious but but I like the way that like

like magn Pi deals with serious stuff you mentioned that you mentioned Nazis there's a [ __ ] episode of magn Pi with Nazis in it I'm not joking okay wow and and it's but it's so light compared to like modern stuff you know like like same with like I love Columbo I've always loved Columbo since I was a kid it's a show about [ __ ] murders but it's just so like not dire it's just all very light and like you know yeah I don't know I think it's just the the vibe of those era shows is different H I also like it cuz you can sort of throw it on and watch it it's the same sort of formula and you don't have to sort of worry what happened last episode when you're watching this episode so you can throw it on like at intervals like

you don't have to keep up with it you can not watch it for a month come back and you know exactly what's happening no one's going to spoil it the guy with the Mage is trying to have sex with 16y olds and solve crimes right in his Ferrari he's living the dream as long as they're paying him to solve the crimes cuz he's a private detective he's not a he's not a police officer and I need to make that personally clear I am not affili with the police whatsoever and they always allude to the fact that he's doing like divorce cases and stuff but you never see him do any of that boring stuff it's always like Higgins is threatening to tell one of the women that he just sits up all night and photographs you know the husbands and then he's like shut up
