so I slept in this morning and was a little late for the started the podcast you got some extra gaming time in there I've got some extra gaming time and then cuz Matt is at his fromont holiday home yeah I usually try not to mention the fact that Matt has a holiday home especially since I I don't have a [ __ ] anywhere at this point I'm still living in a hotel mate welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy you might be able to move into the house that you're currently already paying for one day mhm one day one day um thanks to all of the uh couple of the listeners have reached out to me and uh

said that they hope the process is speedy and I I do appreciate that and I I hope you're right I hope it is Speedy someone's at the front door someone just rang my doorbell you got a package I do I hope there's someone on the ground level who can open the door because there is yeah good I don't want to see you have to hurry off H down down the stairs yeah so what has been happening this week well what were you playing this morning before we started recording I've been struggling to work out things to play lately and I don't know why you know when you sit down and go I'm going to watch Netflix and then you spend 3 hours deciding what to watch yeah then you throw on the same show you've seen seen before yeah I usually

just put on Raiders the Lost AR when I can't decide yeah but yeah you spend a lot time so there's a function on the Xbox that I I'm starting to use called the surprise me button okay so it's just you I'll hit the button and it'll pick a game go you're going to play this and I go okay does it take your taste and your previous games played into account or does it really surprise you it's just really surprised cuz it's I think when you use it from your the my games and app portion that just does games that you've got installed but I think the buttons also available on Xbox game pass so it's just anything that there so I've started playing the Solitaire conspiracy cuz I've had it I've own it I've had it for a very long time so I've seen this this looks kind

of like solitire except maybe if solitire was a mini game inside of cyberpunk or something like that can you tell me what this is it's not the normal Solitaire so you I there is a story behind it but I skipped the story and don't quite understand that but when you sort of put cards down um so it is general rule is Sal here so you've got different suits of cards and you want to get ay King and get them off the table but there's missions in behind and there's special powers you unlock when you place a card down and it can turn the king queen and Jack into special abilities I have no idea what the speci abilities were or any good strategy for it but I finished the game okay so it's more like Solitaire cross with magic

they're Gathering yeah but very very lightly like the the missions are not hard it's basically just clear a deck and the special abilities are pretty [ __ ] I assume you're getting achievements for this yes there's only two more achievements to get in the game so I finished the single player campaign is it really a campaign there is a campaign I finished the Skirmish achievements there's only two more achievements I need which is basically it's a timed version oh okay right so it starts off with one deck and then you have to clear that and then goes two then three and they going to do that 15 times and I'm just 15 I got the achievement for clearing five ways I'm not even going to do 10 and five 15 I'm just going to install it after uninstall

it after this yeah I think that sounds like a little bit of a Time burgler I just get frustrated I'm not good at soliter it's beinging of frustrated have I told you that I've I've gotten to the final boss on Black Thorn and oh you've been playing bloodb yeah I've been playing it all the way through I want my my goal with having the retroid pocket 2 plus is to play games that I had a cursory play around on when we were young but never never played all the way through and I want to play all the way through these games and I I am up to the final boss and and he is irritatingly difficult to the point where you don't use the same tactics of combat that you've used through the game right so it's not just like one step further One Step more

difficult it's just suddenly there's someone who's practically impossible to beat I'm finding it very tedious and I might just walk away from it at this stage what although it'll be a shame since I played it so thoroughly all the way through yeah see it's real shame like you you have fun memories of games from back then but then you go back and play you go these are really hard yeah or they become very repetitive very quickly or both I'm actually um I've got such huge Nostalgia for Wonder Boy I think I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago and um the other day I was I was irritated with Black Thorn so I was like [ __ ] I'm just going to play I'm going to dick around in Wonder Boy and um I ran up against the exact same issue that I used to have while playing this

as a kid did you ever have the seaga Master System Too yes okay so with Alex the kid yeah with that built in Alex kid right so the controller had the d-pad on the left hand side and two buttons A and B on the right hand side right and there was always the conundrum do you play it holding it so your thumb hovered over both buttons and you pressed one at a time or your hand upside down with two fingers resting on each buttons how did you play it I never had that conundrum but I've always just been thumbed so do I always thumbed right but there was always that one kid on the Block who always used to used to have the inverted grip and used to have a little bit of a tactical Advantage because he could be quicker on the see it but to me it just it's uncomfortable oh it was

horribly for a long time yeah right so I never used to play like that either except that in Wonder Boy to double jump it's not double tap of the jump button it's jump and action simultaneously I don't even remember there being a double jump so I I didn't either and I think that's why I was so bad at it back in the day but I only worked it out now because I'm trying to jump over a Chasm that's too far for a jump and I'm like there must be a double jump there is but you have to hold it inverted and because the the controls basically emulate whatever controller you were originally on um it's the same I just use two of the buttons but I've got to invert my hand in order to play it and it's [ __ ] irritating because it's so in ergonomic yes

um is there a way that you can make it yeah I think I could probably go on and map it to the to like the Z buttons on the triggers or something yeah cuz that's the good thing about s of those retro things and you can just almost positive I can do all that but it's it really is more effort than I'm willing to put in for Wonder Boy you know I think the reason why those games also back then got a bit repetitive is because no one finished games back then yeah they would count on you not them like most game well even today remember when I when I looked at achievements for some games and it's like less than 50% or around 50% of people actually finishing games really see that like Assassin's Creed and yeah right well I'll be honest I don't know if I've ever

finished an Assassin's Creed but yeah um look even if I'll look up cyber Punk and I'll get the I tell you I definitely didn't finish that I barely started it and I barely started it twice even though it's got its new update um yeah so I think is this the last one uh I think yeah so one of the achievements that's the end become a legend of the afterlife okay is unlocked by yeah 14% of Gamers 14% And that's a story achievement right that's not just something like that's the end game strange yeah okay interesting yeah y it's still weirdy yeah like they put people put in a lot of effort and then there are people like me who fly through it and then there a

lot of people who don't do it at all when you played through how long did you spend on it did you do a lot of side quests or did you just try to play the I compl every single side quest okay right and how long did that take how many hours in the game did you spend um probably 40 I'd say yeah okay all right that's actually a decent amount of time for getting that much done those types of games you I'm looking about 40 to 50 hours yeah like cuz yeah it's I whicher no I did not complete every single side quest that you get a bit overwhelmed with that and towards the end you just I just want to finish the game yeah you're talking about Witch of three I yeah yeah cuz there's so much to do and then it's not related to achievement so why bother do

you know what you spent in Skyrim U over 100 hours in that but that's across all my play through yeah I I would be interested to see what I played all combined but I assume there's no record of what I played back on the 360 no um did I ever finish it on oh just looking I have I've barely played it on Windows ooh I might go and play that later on Windows yeah and then get the achievements Old School playing a game on a [ __ ] computer yeah that looks EX the same as my Xbox series X but the stackable achiev well worth it and I own it so cuz as they keep saying as long as you keep buying it we'll keep selling it there'll be another version of Skyrim

coming out before L scroll 6 I reckon oh yeah oh yeah definitely I'm not holding my breath for LR 6 that's ersr 6 I think we're still like 5 years away from online they'll probably be they'll probably hire some of those kids that made those great environmental mods for Skyrim and and get them to work on the new upgrade I do like how yeah people go out and make mods and then that just hey you've cuz it's weird like with those games the modding Community actually keeps the game really going and then people just sit they just sit back and sort of reap the benefits of all this sort of free advertising and then they go hey you're good at that come work for us yeah and I mean we're not talking

about like make every drag and Thomas the Tank Engine although that does exist yes um or or the the the nude one I think the nude one is like the first mod to ever come out it's probably the first to come out you're right and it's also if you if you're sorting by popularity it's the one that comes up on the most relevant when you try to search for things yeah yeah cuz that that's that's always been the case though cuz that was like even the s when that first came out everyone just wanted to see him naked I've never seen naked Sims but then again I haven't played The Sims since the Amiga days or maybe the Dos days and they there wasn't a lot to them back then but I know they're fully fully rendered human beings now right yeah they're they're a lot different now I

don't know much about it I should play it I can get achievements yeah I mean your wife plays quite a lot of the Sims right she's quite an ficado but I don't get achievements for it I don't think play on the Xbox I don't think she's uh oh really what does she play on PC or she plays it on uh handheld no PC yeah PC y she doesn't strike me as the kind of adolescent nerd who would download the nude patch though no no but she does have every single expansion M mhm yeah I believe at one stage and perhaps still she does have a house that you me and Matt live in and I think we might I think we might be vampires yeah she made she made us vampires so we don't die oh that's nice except I like to go to the beach so it really is fantasy roleplay

then because you you definitely I can't even imagine you at a beach I'm not a beach person I can't imagine myself a beach but there's sand yeah there's waterm it's outdoors there's people the sun the sun you got to travel to get there yeah then you have to if you decide to go for a swim you got to worry about your stuff being stolen stolen stuff's the least of my worries it's just it's literally every environmental element that I dislike combined into one the one thing I still don't I I really don't understand why they don't have like lockers like lots and lots of lockers there where you can basically go up pay for it punch in a code that your code that's a great idea you lock your stuff away yeah like it makes total sense so

you're not just oh I'm going to leave my towel here and bury my wallet in keys under the towel and sit on aprof plan yeah yep no one's thought of this what you've just described almost reminds me of like Victorian era beaches where they've got rows of those little carriages where you can get changed into your one piece swimmers yep I assumed you had to rent those and get a key and lock it up I oh I think it was that type of stuff was also for people who had money as well so you probably weren't renting it was this is ours yeah if you were even allowed on the beach you probably had one of those yeah yeah true but yeah let's go to the beach one day no let's go to Hawaii we should still meet I'll go to Hawaii for sure and um uh if I go

to Hawaii I want to do the Lost tour where they show us all the different areas lost was filmed I think that could be quite fun um I'll go but I'm not interested in I want to go on to volcano okay yeah yep do you know what the volcano Hawaii is called no no neither get some volcano get some volcano action on um wouldn't mind uh driving around in a red Ferrari Testa Rossa just so that I can be like Magnum PI see that's where I'm a little different I wouldn't go that I'd go I for some reason when I think Hawaii I think Jeep oh sure yep like with with the no doors and top on and I drove one of them in uh Cambodia and it was hella fun hella fun yeah so that's what think about well you can fit more people in a jeep than in a Ferrari anyway so it's probably and it's

probably a little bit cheaper to hire yes probably probably Al I haven't driven an expensive car no neither have I well I like expensive cars like but I'm talking like when they like cost more than a house type of thing my i' be too afraid to my current car is always the most expensive car I've ever driven and I've never spent a whole lot of money on a car no I'd just be too afraid to like have something that cost like half a million dollars or more I wouldn't want to park it but the thing is if I and then I'm Al to the other side like if I've got that I want to take it everywhere because it's cost of fortunate I don't want it just sitting there doing nothing totally but you can't day drive a Ferrari unless you're willing to ensure it for seven days a

week yeah cuz there are those people out there who go hey I'm only I'm I'm going to a carate so I'll Ure it for yeah well it's cuz they can literally early afford to it on the days they're going to take it out friend of mine has a mg which he ures just for the weekends so it's insured on the weekends he doesn't drive it he's got a regular old sedan he drives to work every day but on the weekend he puts on his cap and his scarf and his little gloves and he drives his little lmg around that doesn't sound fun it's pretty nice like it's nice but really that's your weekend plan actually it's probably more exciting than my weekend plan which is staying at home and yeah playing games so okay he's got me yeah fair enough fair

enough so there's an article here which I'm somehow confused by and makes no sense to me okay Tom Cruz is officially the highest paid actor at the moment yeah now out of all of us you're the only one who's actually seen Top Gun still at this point oh that's great yeah I recommend it yeah yeah go see yeah BR movies so look it's making a packet of money and I I assume that part because Cinemas are really only just opening up to levels that they were at pre pandemic so it's it's definitely got an advantage there of the timing that this has come out um It's Made $1.2 billion worldwide which is a lot of money and because Tom Cruz is not just a star but I'm assuming he's a producer on this as well he gets a good cut of this so his fee for this movie was a $100

million he's walked away with $100 million from this one movie see I I think this is a bit wrong when they say highest paid actor he the money yes CU he I think he's getting more from the other side of it than the acting part I would say so and this article doesn't break down what his actual acting fee is but there may not even be one because it may now just be synonymous with all the other sort of I think it's annoying these days that any any movie or television show now where they sort of got a star in it it's they're a star but they're also EP yeah yeah like it's it's getting a bit ridiculous I think usually what that means is that they've set up their own little company with people to

read scripts and they've either they or their people have found the script initially and have got it off the ground and therefore there's your EP credit you don't have to do a lot for a producer credit especially an executive producer Credit in Hollywood yeah I just I just I think it's I think it's yeah I don't like it anymore used to be guar it used to be something now it's just a cuz I was watching Always murders in the building all three of those guys EP yeah if you want us to come back we want a little bit of the back end as well yeah yeah TV shows especially isn't it it's like you can almost guarantee if you watch something I mentioned Ozark last week but you know Jason baitman executive producer Laura Linny executive producer and I think they probably got

it written in the contract as well like if we get to so many episodes then I get that credit and you start giving me more money there and make me EP I'd be a great EP yeah I've never been EP on what do I do just take your credit and get your money I guess I'm okay yeah I'd be per that's my type of job I'm perfect for that yeah yeah I mean sometimes you might have to argue other Executives who go this is never going to make money and you you be are you crazy this is going to be the next big thing see the with a with producers they either to me they either it's just a token credit where they get money for it and they don't really do anything or it's the other side where their two hands on and ruin things but maybe just because we only hear about that

stuff yeah I would agree with that I would agree with all parts of that now either either your wife has ESP or she can hear you from the next room or this is just an astonishing coincidence but she's just sent us a photograph um with the caption for some reason Sim Matt insists on watching Sim Luke work out while wearing only a towel and this is quite funny I'll post that to the Instagram I do love that Sim Luke not only works out but also seems to have a personal trainer that he's working out with yeah that's that Sim Luke has taken on a life of his own that is not matching me anymore man Sim Matt is in incredible shape isn't he yeah [ __ ] he's got 0% fat look at that he's got it's not just like the ABS he's got he's got he's got those arrows

pointing to his dick yeah I never realized what those were for cuz I've never had them I've never had them but that's what they are they're arrows pointing to your dick that's what that's the only thing I can think that they're for yeah I had when I was about 17 but not because I was muscular it was just because I was far too skinny what I've never had is PEC I'd love PEC I got I don't have mamboo but they're not I don't I know what you mean it's kind of slopes down like like this yeah yeah I can no longer wear a tight t-shirt without having to stand up incredibly straight I'm a bit nervous cuz um my Pax merch is going to ship soon and I do have a crop top so on

purpose I'm a sucker for online only special things and I like packs and so yes so we'll see what happens there now I don't I don't see any world where you're like this is ridiculous I'm not going to wear it if something you liked yeah so you know if it fits and and by fits I mean if it if you can get it on I'll wear it yeah yeah I'll wear it two packs please do oh I actually I forgot I meant to um oh I was going to get a costume made and I haven't sent in my details yet so I may not and that may not be ready for packs now that's annoying well it's about to fortune on it oh really yeah I spent hundreds of dollars cuz it's going to be custom made and it's going to come from the UK oh okay well if it's

overseas yeah you could be right it could be delayed and also um the person who does it cuz it's just an Etsy store right and she's like I work on one costume at a time it'll take me two 3 weeks to do and it's so yeah and she just makeing up like you may be waiting up to 6 months you'll just get it when it's when it's ready yeah oh wow I'm intrigued I assume you're not going to tell me what it is no no it's going to be awesome though no one else is going to have this costume see now I want to guess but I no you won't get okay interesting interesting but yeah so I'll go measure myself after this the problem is is I don't know how to measure myself it is it is difficult to measure yourself like when you got to measure like inseam

outseam yeah I don't know where am I measuring from how accurate do I need to be do I make it a little bit more no no no you just measure your exact body and then you you let them add on where but be here's my advice be honest with them because suck in the G yeah yeah it's it's not going to fit if you just give them your body wish list rather than your actual measurements yeah so my thing is I'm always worried that I'm going to go too small it's not actually I'm not worried about being too big being a little bit big is fine but I always worried about if I give him the wrong size is too small well cuz you can't make things bigger you can always make things smaller yeah yeah there's yeah yeah yeah if you go oh maybe I would have lost an

inch around my belly by the time this gets here then just look forward to not being able to put that on yeah just yeah if you if you do lose if I do lose the in great just tighten up the bo a little bit more mhm I can um I can I can measure exactly how much weight I've put on since Co started by the fact that right before the lockdown I got a suit tailor made beautiful three-piece suit tailor made and now that you're a dad oh yeah forget it forget about it that's yeah yeah that suits basically just s like it's never going to happen can't do up the vest can't uh get the pants on it's it's it's a ride off beautiful suit very expensive gone forever yeah gone yeah worn once was at least you got to wear it once yeah I mean yeah yeah it was my marriage

so yeah it's important good thing to wear it for and sort of a bit makes it a bit Fair because normally when most time when guys get married they get a suit they get to wear a lot more true and the um the woman normally gets a dress that she wears once and then true that's it so yeah and listeners if you're wondering why I awkwardly said marriage and not wedding it's because I didn't have a wedding cuz a it was in lockdown and um we weren allowed to want to invite me and B we didn't want to invite anyone yeah still not hurt by that it was great it was great oh you and my sister can take that up I would have had to have traveled well that's why we we kind of got married between two countries too so that we could just tell everyone that we

got married in the other country like oh sorry that you you would have had to come to Singapore and our Singapore infs you would have had to come to Australia the only thing is you miss out on the presence that is true but to be fair at this point I don't want a whole bunch of presents in my house like let's be honest I'm not going to get it's not just going to be like oh here is heaps of [ __ ] Xbox [ __ ] gift cards that's that's probably the best present to get for me cuz everything else I just have yeah no exactly right you get to a certain point like if I want something I'll buy it myself there's a new Lego set coming out that I think you are going to want oh God don't show me cuz I will want

it it is the Atari 2600 oh I do want it God damn yeah I love these I just post a link in here just the segments yeah it's oh be amazing that is excellent that is excellent and it'll match it'll go right next to my Nintendo Entertainment one oh my God even got cartridges I do have one problem with this go on cuz it comes with cartridges and games but for me the one game that stands out for the Atari is Pitfall yes agree agree and that game's not on there they've got asteroids which yes centipede yes and then Adventure okay I would Adventure should be P for I would

have said Frogger as well for Atari 2600 to me Frogger is the the quintessential game for that system but yeah I I'm I I need this and that's going to be my Christmas present to myself in September or August or next week oh there's even a little stack of box where you can put the cartridges and it's also that sort of same Brown from the 70s like it's can you actually oh man have you seen this too you can there's a removable panel and inside is you as a kid in the 80s playing the Atari oh there is twoo and you're playing as you're playing asteroids see I would have that there and then when I get around to when I that would go away I just totally but it's cool that it's there yeah it's it's

cool to know it's there yeah there's a VHS tape just sitting on the table there what I love about this though is it's so accurate it's got the television sitting on a chest of drawers and it's got the Atari sitting on the floor in front of the television and then you sitting in front of the Atari like that is completely accurate period accurate I I do love to and I do have a Atari 2600 as well oh do you yeah it's like inbox from period Mint Condition yeah right wow I'll never play it because oh yeah you can't already playing I'm sure you don't have a TV that you could hook it up to I think you can actually buy cables down to convert it for you yeah you can but while I have very fun memories the games were pretty [ __ ] oh yeah yeah yeah

it's very to go back which actually why some of these games like um well like Asteroids for example they're so simple that there always will be Nostalgia for that it was the ones that tried to be interesting that didn't last this test of time well especially when back then like you could have games and you remember like you could play the game but you have the manual would actually be what told you the story so you had to read man get and the artwork on the cover of the Box told you what imagine while you were looking at three pixels on the screen yep I do miss that do you know this phenomenon is you would drive into the city to buy a game M and you would have the entire car ride home to read the manual read cuz yeah you'd get the box and then you get the manual and

the manual was interesting it wasn't really like how to play the game or anything it's this is the game you're about to play that's right psyching you up telling you who the characters are what kind of monsters you going to expect to battle and I remember when they sort of got went away and went like went we're going to the smaller boxes oh that's ridiculous I like the big boxes now on this age I'm happy that oh definitely I don't have any boxes oh I'm happy that it's all digital at I was like even I agree when they went to the DVD size boxes I thought oh that's a bit of a shame and it is in a way cuz the Lost Art of video game boxing but um and then even when those went away and everyone was going digital I held out for a bit too but God i' never go back to actually

buying physical discs no I'm I'm too lazy yeah like imagine having to get up and change the disc every time you wanted to play a different game or just play whatever was in I started doing that with my disman well whatever's in here is what I'm listening to today yep unless I act unless the reason I'm listening is to I want to listen to a particular thing it's this is what said that's it yeah there was a retro console that came out recently that and recently I mean in the last 2 years and I forget what this one was called it was just one of those gen ones but the selling point was that it had cartridges that each it wasn't a database of uh of built-in games on a hard disk it was individual cartridge that you had to change which

is a cool gimmick but at the same time I think you're absolutely right how long will that last yeah like it's one of the things you you think you want to go back to it but you don't no if there were going to be period accurate too sometimes they just wouldn't work you'd have to blow in them slap them well blowing in them didn't actually work I don't know why we thought it would that's just something that everyone did but I've been watching this guy on YouTube as well that actually goes in and repairs them all oh wow and it's just really interesting just just UK guy just got I've brought these broken ones I'm going to see if I can fix them and then he just opens them up gives them a clean maybe sold us a little bit and goes Yep this works or no this is Dead Forever it's just that's

great I don't know why it's addictive to watch oh yeah I I watch a few guys who do up retro machines from the Commodore era and uh I love watching that [ __ ] especially since a I had those computers as a kid and now regret ever getting rid of them but also the ones that you can get from that period now on eBay say are prohibitively expensive and also chances are have been modded over the years too you know like they' they've got extra little switches solded in for switching discs and you know they they've got a HDMI output that's been kind of crammed into don't understand the stuff becoming a stupid price yeah it's Lego is a good big example of that so like people go out and buy they'll buy two to three

sets of the same Lego set so they can build one and keep one to sell later for triple the price but I know Lego have they're looking at doing something which may stop that a little bit ooh you know how a retire set and things so if you want to get it the only way is you basically go out and spend an arm Fortune they're looking at doing a thing where you can order retired sets like as a custom order oh interesting so so you might as well get it from Lego rather than trying to find some guy who's hoarding one yeah so it might not I I think I know it's I'm not sure if they're doing it or when it's going to happen but I have heard it is on the cards but so you may not get like the Box yes box out or anything but you'll get here's your set here's the Lego

pieces and here's instructions and Away you go and it might cost a little bit more expensive than what it would have cost originally but you're not paying three times the price yeah you're not you're not being extorted by some dude who's bought five of them yeah I hate the sell on market and and people who justify and say they're doing a good thing yeah that's right like when Xbox and Playstation when all the scalpers were going on getting Bots and selling that and they go we're just trying to help people get a copy well you're not helping because you're buying it you're not and you're not providing a service because you're actually charging more and then when Target and everything would they're already providing that service you're adding anything yeah yeah

and in fact you're you're shanghaiing the stock there dude like yeah just let me buy one from Kmart yeah but yeah some of them try to justify it is it still hard to get your hands on a PS5 um I I don't think there's an issue in Australia but I do occasionally still hear people saying oh if I could get one I'm like really is that still a thing yeah I think it's um oh so's got another queue to buy PlayStation 5 and open now I reckon I could buy one let me go to EB Games like station five preferred EB when it was still called Electronics Boutique Electronics Boutique yes

um I so by Price that'll be the easiest way um no there you go I can't bu PlayStation Now how many how long are we into this cycle coming up in two years aren't we yeah it must be yeah I I didn't know people still having problems I know I'm not going to buy one no I'm bu Xbox series X I uh I've got no plans to switch from Xbox back to PlayStation but I will say that the PS2 when it was out was still probably one of my favorite consoles to have ever been produced look and and they just they had the market so right cuz that was the switch when everyone was switching the

Blu-ray and you could buy a PlayStation 2 yes which came with a Blu-ray player for less than buying a Blu-ray player like it was just perfect marketing by Sony yeah that's right yeah that is true um I can pre-order an Xbox series X okay so evidently they're still I can pre-order it so it looks like they're still so they're still sold out but uh but at least they promise you one as opposed to telling you you got no chance I'm so happy we just got hours at the start yeah I know right I've got you to thank for that too no you have Xbox to thank for that I gave me one that's right yeah yeah your gain is also my gain yes so you still uh you still got your hard set on the steam

deck I really really it's not yes and no there's very little downsides to the steam deck I mean it's it's expensive it's also not available in it's not available yeah and there's no there's no telling what it will be but uh but it does if if you were trying to talk if you in America you could get your hands on one there'd be very few reasons that I can come up with why you would decide not to get one look I do really want one and it's mainly because I can put Xbox game pass on it right I can get achievements and I got something portable to take with me what I'm probably looking at doing is once I put my tax in cuz there's the AR Neo next yes mhm which is going to be available in Australia and I can pre-order that

now so I'm probably cuz I'm going to be waiting forever oh yeah and the other thing about that is with that one being available in Australia is it's also it's not running like Steam OS so it's it's running Windows so it's going to be a bit easier to just I do things instead of oh yeah cuz you can't get game pass on the um steam deck like that's doable but yeah this I think will just make it a little bit easier so that's probably what I will do yeah yeah another thing that um you might want to just look into is that I've heard that the steam deck doesn't do so well in high Heats and by that I mean if you just take it outside on a summer's day Y and in that we live in Australia um and you essentially live out in the desert it's probably not the

best climate for one see it's it's basically it's only real a real issue if you're Outdoors true like if you're indoors cuz yeah they cuz they've had to put the warning out because the heat wve in the UK at the moment and I I still laugh like people are like people going oh the UK they can't handle it like it's just a bit of heat we've got that heat all the time in Australia but there's a slight different our houses and stuff are built to cater for that they're they're not I mean I don't want to sound cynical but what what kind of temperatures are the UK facing right now that they're calling over 40° oh okay no that's still pretty [ __ ] hot yeah okay yeah it's it's hot and it's when they're not they're not used to it yeah no you're right the hous

is UN insulated for the summer heat of that they insulated for cold yeah that's right yeah but yeah so they've had to come out and they said the best temperature to use the steam deck is between 0 and 35° so it's not too bad like yeah that's fine you can be in the Arctic as well see I think it's a bit weird that zero see Zero to me is too cold that's what I mean like if I'm if I'm 0 de I'm probably huddled somewhere trying to get warm not just the steam deck try and Pi that's right yeah warm on that LED screen the deck the the decks are built with a lot like with a lot of heat and stuff taken in mind like cuz people have gone oh I can install a a better SSD drive and steam have come out and

gone don't do that like yes you can yes there is room to physically do it but there's a reason why we have some of this room left in there it's for air flow it's for things so oh that's interesting but yeah doesn't look like I'll get a steam deck yeah well I mean you you can't even get on the list for one anytime soon so but I'm actually just looking at I think that a uh they next I think they've got a better thumbstick placement for me anyway oh okay cuz the the steam deck is both um thumbsticks on top oh yeah is the the AR is more of the traditional Xbox Ones they low so it'll be easier yep to get used to it yeah I'm going to do my TX

today so I can do this I should really do my tax too I get money back this year so a couple of trailers dropped this week and um I just want to ask if you're if any of these interest you all right so I'm just going to talk I'm just going to talk through you you might you may have seen these you may not have um the first one is finally a full trailer for Neil Gaming's the Sandman series you a fan of either Neil giman or the Sandman no not really mhm mhm so Neil Gan I know I'm meant to like him because he's nerdy and stuff but I just I I don't get it mhm mhm um Sandman is one of the few comic book series that I have actually read every issue of and uh I love I love them and actually I think even better

than the comic book series audible did a full cast reading version of the S man A couple of years ago that was excellent um which is if you haven't read it it's it's probably the best way well as you know I can't read so yeah that's right well I mean there's a lot of pictures there's a lot of pictures but um quite a bit of writing as well but you know if you've got an audable account and you get a credited a month for free then um this is a good way to take a look at it but it's very very good James makoy plays Morpheus the Sandman um but there's a host of other famous people in there okay but of course everyone's angry because um Oh Captain enig oh sure I forget who she plays actually I've got act one great give it a try let me know

what you think oh I probably won't listen to it fair enough fair enough I now own it great the the AUD the neans are angry because um you know it was a comic book written in England in the early ' 80s and so all the people were just drawn as generic white people and that's kind of how everyone's always seen them but of course now it's 2022 and um we're a bit more diverse when it comes to Casting and we know that there's other people in the world who aren't just plain white so um you know they've just cast actors who do a good job of Performing those characters um and the internet have have said no yeah this ising about this on save file this week CU with my sister as well because she was going like why did I have to go

and do this and I went and my explanation of why they have to do this is because everyone's making a deal out of it m like um when they announce like a diverse character or something's going to be gay everyone complains oh you're just doing this for political reasons and blah blah blah blah and it's all like but my thing is well no they're doing it because you're making a big deal out because of your reaction yeah the the second nobody notices they won't feel the need to do it anymore yeah yeah then it's not happening then it's just acceptable cuz the other thing people always say is I I don't care like it doesn't bother me but it does but yeah second does cuz especially when it comes to like gay old

trans characters as well people will complain about it well they don't they don't have to an the reason why they're doing is cuz is like if there's straight characters don't announce oh these guys are straight yeah that's right CU yeah cuz that would be weird that would be weird well why is it so we should be getting to the same point for everything else yes isn't a deal and if you stop making a deal about it then it stops being a deal yeah that's right that's right yeah so there is a bit of that too I think there's a there's a little bit of LGBT element in this as well but also the the character of death who is the poster girl of every goth girl from the 80s and 90s the the skinny black jeans and the um the black perm and the uh the

the white skin um is played by a a black person so people are going [ __ ] nuts because apparently black people can't be Goths so I think they can be the best Goths if anything yeah I'm thinking suck it up people yeah yeah I I might watch it so this a sh hardress doing one movie out of this it's epic it's really epic okay all right yeah um it comes out AUST it's pretty cool it's like Dark Fantasy it's it's I'm not a big fantasy fan it's not that kind of fantasy it's it's more just like there's dream Realms the the the guardian of the dream Realms Morpheus has been kidnapped and so nobody's dreamt during the time where he's inating and he finally the book starts he

escapes and has to start tracking down these various items that help him kind of do his job and uh you're not selling me on this it's [ __ ] cool man it's so cool but then there's also other things there's episodes with William Shakespeare in them and then there's EP there's one episode set completely inside this din oh this so good it's going to be great hopefully they do a good job of it all right we'll see okay I might might watch or might not okay so there's there's there's something else that was a big favorite of mine um back in the 90s when I was a teenager as well also a new series Interview with the Vampire an rice classic tale of gay vampires so is it just a retelling of the same story complete retelling of the same story yeah looks like they've

changed the setting slightly to modernize it slightly but only slightly which that sense that actually makes things a bit cheaper to make oh I I say slightly modernized I mean instead of being set in the 1700s it looks like it's set early 20th century so they'd still have to build a bunch of stuff I I thought you meant like the the the it was still sort of like the current day was sort of but yeah instead of the ' 80s that's now no I mean I'm assuming there's a bit of that too um this has got the same thing they've they've recast some White characters with some people of color um but it is set in Louisiana back in the day and I I think that there probably would have been some people of color going around there even if an rice didn't intend for that to be

in the story I think that's true to the period to true to the place so y I've heard less um criticism on this one though because um he's really hot so I think that's that also plays a big role in it too um look I again I'm not really going to go out of my way to watch this I don't think it's I've seen I've seen it I know the story yeah fair fair and if you watch the trailer it looks like they've just followed along the book so he looks like Brad Pit yes they really made him look like mind you there is a very specific description in the book of what he is meant to look like and they looks like they've just gone along with with that it's the other character the Louis character that they've they've mixed up yeah yeah yeah

okay so that's in October so there's a third one and now this one might interest you more there's a trailer for season 3 of Mythic Quest look I I'm hoping this is one of the things I'm hoping I'm going to like it but season 2 really agree took a turn for me agree mind you a couple of really great episodes yeah a couple of the best yeah it was I don't know what it is uh I think and cuz I know they he's got they've already the had season 4's already being done like that signs for three and four that that contract's already there but yeah I don't know I'm hoping but I'm

nervous I think it lost its way a little bit yes I I agree and also and this year the writer is not coming back okay so that was going to be my point too I didn't see him in the trailer and he's my favorite a while ago yeah he's not coming back yes F Mari Abraham's character um yeah now don't get me wrong they really explored his character very well in a couple of flashback episodes in the second season so it's probably a good thing like we We complain about in stranger things for example characters that are just there now because they've always been there but we've already told their story so now they're just hanging around so maybe it is good that they move him on um I would say move the test on if that's the case as well because you you really

flogged that horse to death in the last season as well and it's also the testers I always found strange even in the first season I i' I even spoke about on here that I found those testers strange because they weren't the tester testers yes that's right cuz they actually do refer to people downstairs as being the testers so that whole story was weird yeah the only time I enjoyed that was when when one of them I forget whether they got fired or whether they quit but then they replaced them with Craig Mason and there was that kind of dynamic there for a little bit that had a lot of comedy in it but um too much too much focus on them for sure but yeah I'm just having look actor F Murray Abraham will not be returning and they've they

haven't said why I like we don't discuss personal M name character I want to say Nigel long bottom but I think that's somebody from Harry Potter CJ CW long bottom C long bottom that's it yeah Harry Potter it's Neville long bottom Neville long bottom I wonder if they're uh is it Neville long I know it's bottom in the name don't know I don't know someone in your house would definitely know though I've read it Neville I read one and I've seen Neville long bottom Neville long bottom okay maybe that's just a that's just a British name like Smith I think Smith is also a British name isn't it yep so Mythic Quest 3 probably give a look but look I'm definitely going to watch it but cuz I forgot I I keep

forgetting that I even have Apple TV subscription yeah like cuz one of those ones it's just there but you know what I've discovered actually has some pretty good movies on it I don't know necessarily TV shows but when I'm looking for just a movie to watch the one I'm most likely come back to is Stan and I think it's because Stan is it's channel 7even right is that what's St I think it's Channel 10 it's Channel 10 they've had years of Licensing movies you know to put on on a Friday night and so that's they've got quite a good Library yeah uh it's I I do like I've got like Google 2D answers and you can just search and or search all of the apps that make things a little bit

easier oh there just so many of these days and I forget I have them like I've got binge I've got Apple TV I've got um Paramount plus oh yeah yeah I but I forget they're there I'm not going to winge about this more than I need to but obviously I thought I was going to be away from my house for about 3 or 4 weeks and it's been several months now but um I didn't even think to bring the dongle for my Google TV I could I could have just had that plugged in here you know what I mean I just really didn't think it was going to be this long would have still looking octob October oober is what they're saying but they're being so vague about it that I actually don't even know what the delay is anymore so I can't trust it's one of these things where I think it's one of

the things where I think it'd be scary because they're probably saying October to go hey look this is a date it's not too far away it's not like 6 months or that you're going to go out and start complaining more and it buys them time to do really whatever they're doing but then they can still just cuz they haven't confirmed it it's just October cuz here's the thing the construction is done we know that so we know it's not that that's taking the long time I suspect there's been a council inspection and the council person has gone no absolutely not not signing off on this until you fixed these dozens of things that you've cut corners on or whatever yeah and they're not going to really tell you about that correct they're certainly and so the the fact

that they're not saying anything at all if it was something so simple wouldn't they just tell us is is the theory I keep coming back to yeah the October is just yeah they they don't want you cuz it's not just you that would be going also everyone else there but October's yeah so you go away yeah it's close enough stop asking for now you shouldn't be complaining it it we've given you something but yeah who knows yeah that's why never buy off the plan oh man it was I've never heard people have a good story no ever I thought I was going to be different like I've never heard anyone go I brought off a plan and everything went well yeah I know look it could be it could be worse there's a lot of people who brought off the plan and then

the build is just gone well we're bankrupt yeah yeah and you're not covered for that yeah or just delayed indefinitely oh we're just delayed and it was Co too cuz so people could have just been like I just not going to start building back up again until after the and it and then you just just waiting and then very careful in the contracts you sign that says we're not actually giving you a date yeah and it's also the things like I'm when cuz co co may have had a bit of an impact because the price of things cuz they had to stop building and then when they've gone back to building the price of everything has gone up and so well yeah we can't afford it whose problem is that yeah exactly yeah yeah never buy off to plan
