suck at Microsoft welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy so they we discussed last week how they bringing the new rules about how you can't get the achievements in 5 minutes I've just played three games that have come out the last three weeks since they've introduced the r that I got the CHS in a few minutes so oh they're not enforcing it yet were the games approved before probably probably they probably were I got an achievement yesterday uh that was run away from three hippos but we can talk about that later um but like one of the

achievements like so I've got a game called Zombie Driver 2 sounds good it's it's not a bad game it's like I like car games I like zombie games it sounds good sounds fine yeah but remember like H Climber game like you just drive a car and you got to get the fuel to get far it's that are you a zombie driving or you driving a zombie you're no you're a you're driving a car running over zombies shooting zombies okay got but actually it's a bit of a fun game you're an Uber driver a zombie has booked you about the problem about it though it's quite a fun little game and but you can get every single achievement on the first level oh right right it's just complete a level with three stars do a couple of flips hit a bird and just like

all fully up come then come back and play the game but that that's all You' hit a bir in real life you have few birs do you remember when we were kids it was perfectly acceptable to call women Birds cuz I remember once like I know what you're going to say who's who who her name was we just called her bird and that's what she answered to I thought you were going to say it was never okay we just did it anyway which which I would have also accepted but I remember once um my dad was on the phone and he came in I was who was that he's like I just some bird from work and I'm like what but what what I think what was sort of a bit funny about it at the time when we're saying Birds girls weren't talking to us oh yeah talking them not to them yeah had pants with them maybe that was

part of the problem any birds want to go out with me weird actually maybe they would have if I'd asked but I always thought I couldn't get dates it's just that I never asked anyone out yeah yeah any you birds out me don't understand what you're saying speak English speak English uh uh my friend was playing snowrunner which is a game oh yes that's a that's a driving game yes he brought his lapt trivia and he was playing it at trivia yeah it's actually like a a truck driving game you're a truck and you got to change GE I saw that yeah yeah but truck simulator snow it looks it's on Game Pass it looked quite interesting but he he he was off exploring the middle of nowhere flipped his current

truck over and then was like oh now I have to go and get it and I was like what he had to go back take another truck to retrieve his truck the other one over I mean that is what you would do in real life I suppose yeah yeah is it it's a game that you need to commit time to it's not a casual game I'm going to or anything he brought it to trivia to play That's How obsessed he is God there's no story though you make your own story really no but you're right Matt because that's like when I had those three years where all I played was Conan Exiles that's got no story either which made it more addictive because you project onto it your story yeah yeah you just so your mate is just living his life as a trucker now y he's loving it yeah yeah you're living my life now in

uh ancient Egypt from I am and I'm loving this so Assassin's Creed Origins now it it was it I went a roundabout way to getting this because we've been talking about Assassin's Creed what's the new one called the coming out one um Mirage Mirage yeah talking about that Middle Eastern setting I thought is that just rehashing the first one and I realized how long it had been since I actually played the first one and so I decided to go back um this is a 360 game and we are rapidly approaching a time where 360 games feel really retro now like and the thing about it as well it was also early on in the 360 generation it was a launch title wasn't it it was close to they certainly they certainly sold a lot of 360s for people buy Assassin's Creed and the best

example of what how it changed from like the beginning of the generation to the end is Grand Theft Auto four to five that was both on the yeah that's right that's a great example but um I played this for a little bit and in fact I didn't even get out of the tutorial because I I found the tutorial even quite tedious and uh I was like why am I playing a 15-year-old more game when uh there's there's games already on my Xbox downloaded they figured out what was fun about this and what wasn't correct away stuff that wasn't except this game still has it yeah um and Origins is great and I agree with you I think Origins is just as good as Odyssey not Pol and it's it's not as vast but that's not a bad thing yeah um agreed although I ended up in a you

would have known this but I ended up in a bath house uh last oh yeah yeah yeah um had to do a little bit of a house assassination well here's the thing I was like last time I went into a bath house in an Assassin's Creed game I got [ __ ] by like 12 dudes like they passed me around like a spliff you know what I mean and um because in uh in Odyssey everyone's [ __ ] horny for you like like know whether you play the the man or the woman yeah dudes just want to [ __ ] you yeah Cassandra men women whatever yeah yeah yeah yeah and I always said yes well sometimes you don't really have a choice and when I because I didn't play Cassandra I played Dimitri and uh alexio alexio yeah who's the [ __ ] is Demetri I'm not sure uh yeah I played

alexio and and um the only female that I had sex with was an elderly woman and I rescued I her husband had escaped because he couldn't keep up with her sexual prowess and then she the quest was for me to go and retrieve him um and he begged me not to bring him back to her but he's like I'll go back but you have to be the one that [ __ ] her so I did just so tired everyone else that that had relations with men I guess in true Greek style yeah I mean I've learning a lot about ancient history this week um from Odyssey and uh well Origins now so we've been playing Origins I've been really enjoying it and I got to Giza right Giza and

um I got to ancient London Giza and it's the pyramids and the Sphinx right and then even byak comments on this in the game you get to the Sphinx and I was I was like oh it's bigger than that and then in the game he goes I thought this thing was supposed to be bigger oh interesting and then so that was interesting and then you go kind of hunting around inside the pyramids and all that kind of thing like tomb of kufu and I was thinking I remember when I was a kid I [ __ ] loved ancient Egypt and at the time there was a lot of stuff floating around about how there were these hidden rooms in there and passages in all that kind of stuff like surely we figured that stuff out by now right I'm G to go on YouTube and see what the you know what the latest gos is about you

know the Sphinx in the pyramids what [ __ ] hell right what a what a disaster the internet had been I couldn't all the results at first were clips from EP episodes of Ancient Aliens oh and I'm not joking all of them were either that or clips from Joe Rogan of some guy who was on Joe Rogan talking about how he thinks oh yeah the pyramids and the Sphinx are actually 200,000 years old or something and the Egyptians just found them yeah and I was like where's the where's the fact where's the history yeah right so so I'm like trying quite hard now to find a video that's not like that it's just kind of you know I don't mind that stuff but come on yeah you you you're actually looking for information not entertain and so I was having trouble so then I was like okay

fine I'm going to look for I forget that guy's name but I was like that guy debunked right it's not is it no I know who that is it's not that guy he's also terrible but um yeah he's a [ __ ] with it's a different guy but but then so I start looking for this deunk and the all the videos I can find are of people saying the argument seems to be it's racist to suggest that ancient Egyptians couldn't have built them and I'm like that's fair but could you do you have more than that yeah yeah like I understand that an actual argument yeah yeah yeah but is there not evidence that they were built around that time surely there is right or we just saying that it's RAC it's the only reason we're saying that they were built by the because it's racist to say that it wer

is that really only I have seen videos in the past showing how you get enough people you can move these rocks like it is I'm sure we've done this right that's why can't I find that information anymore what the [ __ ] is going because it's gone man that information has been rep because I was looking up that stuff YouTube then decided oh you want to know more about Cleopatra being black onf and I was like oh yeah we should really talk about that cuz Luke and Luke and I had a 20min about that two weeks ago neither of us knowing anything about the context know more than I wanted to now same same but we don't have to go back into it but uh apologies apologies if you knew anything about it and listen to Luke and I Stumble our way through it this is what I've learned right she was probably

Greek no 100% she was the it's incredibly unlikely that she was black in fact no one really entertains that idea she might have been darker skinned but probably not because she was literally almost certainly the daughter of a guy from Cyprus and his wife who was also Greek yeah there's very little to suggest that that's not the case and we have paintings of her and statues of her we do she's a Greek woman or Macedonian looking yeah and that's the thing and that's the the setting of Origins as well which I find quite interesting that they did an ancient Egypt but not the actual ancient Egypt they did the the helenic ancient Egypt that had already been taken over by of the Great and the Greeks yeah I thought that was Odyssey I like so I kind of got over

yeah there there's one fact about the pyramids I know which I still find interesting to this day you know like in Origins how they're smooth and yes they were smooth back in the day but then they basically to tore the walls off to go and make the wall for the city so the wall of the city is actually the outside of the pyramids and that's why they're now stepped up cuz I was looking when you're climbing up them I was like I'm pretty sure they're not smooth but yeah they were originally were that's a nice detail then I like they used to also have gold tops they're black I think like kind of obsidian right sure maybe it's some sort of gold haven't gotten there yet but anyway the clear patch thing is stupid I just don't understand and the I think the biggest problem is

they said it was a documentary and that's why yes I think and that's what luk and and it's a documentary called black queens so oh is it I didn't even know yeah and it's a series about various black queens which is fair enough because I think nine out of 10 are about Africans but then one of them was about Greek who rules even I don't know everything apparently about this no no but but do you know why because none of the Articles talk about the facts they just talk about how upset everyone is yeah and then how they're saying more interesting that that you know the Netflix and the the even the actress who played her which who who I would imagine you know know ill intent on her part is now just as an who got aans and Greeks are racist like hang

on oh is she weighing in now too is she yeah she's they're yeah anyway whatever this is all I just wanted to know are there [ __ ] secret rooms in the pyramids that's all I wanted to know I will I still don't know I remember I remember doing ancient history in high school and we did the pyramids and it would have the thing where the the people who like built the pyramids designed the rooms for like the pharaohs CU they're meant to be buried they build like Escape hatchers so they could yes I'm going to be buried with a pharaoh yes and then I just walk out the back door run away as you would yeah because also like you know how they had to like pull the brain out and all that stuff put it in jars well that was also bit sacrilegious because you're now

doing that to that so those people would be sort of murdered they had to sort of Escape after doing the thing that they were meant to do so they could put the stuff in the J right weird well there's a scene of that in the original mummy and the original I mean the 1930s mummy not the bre frasia but like they bury they bury the the king imep and then IM yeah and then a bunch of soldiers kill the guys that buried them and then a bunch of other soldiers kill those soldiers where does it end it's so that when the King goes to I forget where they go he's got his servants there with him yeah but I think I think you're right I think the thing that we have to remember about the pyramids is that they serve no function whatsoever except as

essentially a massive paper weight over a tomb believe these [ __ ] videos that's not the case well it is the case they align and also they not aligned to the stars and it's like if you if you want to align them to the Stars you have to ignore a lot of stars and a lot of pyramids they're like the size of them is exactly divisible by the something I know I was like hang on I don't care about this nonsense just tell me what's inside the [ __ ] thing yeah so you're getting down this is how you get sucked into Flat Earth and then it just made me sad because I'm like what where's the actual information these and it does make me worri because it it actually led me more down because some of these people talking about the clear Patra thing are talking about their concern is

that history is being Rewritten in a way right and now people one you know like 100 years from now are people going to think Cleopatra was black when probably she wasn't and Andes like does that matter Ian but that one thing might not tell a lot of people but if we keep doing that with everything like just deciding oh you you know like oh you know they were much more diverse than we've ever said they were in all these countries kind of thing but like they really weren't right which is not a good thing but it's just a fact like I don't know it's just it doesn't make me right because now like I said when I look up pyramids all I hear about is aliens but I think that always happens you know what I mean like like when you think of when you think of ancient what ancient Egypt looks like

you're probably thinking about paintings that Italians did during the Renaissance sure and they kind of make it look way more Renaissance than it really was actually that was one of the arguments about the sort of convincing arguments with Cleopatra is that a lot of the statues and paintings were done by the Romans of her because she spent a lot of time in Rome and it's like they might have made her look more Roman because like that might be the case this is this is a bit of a problem that you have with history depending on who writes it yeah yeah I just feel like some of this stuff is like we're intentionally doing it now or people in it's literally intentional yeah but I think the ancient surely that started as a joke no one actually believes that except now that's what you

find when you look up stuff so maybe people will think it's people do believe it and like I just told you about the measurements of it align with the Stars that kind of stuff that's just presented as fact now when you look up the pyramids that's the first thing you learn about them is this nonsense yeah yeah just makes me sense I mean it's very interesting that's certainly more interesting than just a bunch of [ __ ] slaves and day workers had to put it together right it is so everyone's clicking on it so it's the first thing that shows up because YouTube's like oh this is what people like yeah this is but also the other thing you got to realize is that the pyramids were older to Cleopatra than Cleopatra is to us sure like they were [ __ ] thousands of

years old because early Kingdom Egypt had way too much money to spend the the kings were like when I die just build the biggest thing and then by the time all that money was spent it wasn't as wealthy a country anymore and no one did it again like because they serve no purpose you know what on that on that point of revisionism already happening there was an Egyptian guy I saw talking on some show getting mad about it because then he was also like we've had to we spent all this time trying to tell everybody that no we didn't force the Jews to build them we [ __ ] built them right and then now now they're at it again yeah that's right yeah oh yeah good point there's no evidence that there's no evidence that the Hebrews were ever in Egypt um there's compelling

evidence that the whole Egyptian enslavement thing is a metaphor for the Jewish Exile in Babylon which was happening at the time and they just couldn't talk about Babylon and because they were literally there at the time so they just said it's Egypt and everyone understood at the time what that me wink wink nudge nudge win why we Pharaoh we don't Pharaoh's name if you were a hisory also comping evidence that um that basically it wasn't even Egyptian slaves that built the pyramids it was just people who were paid that was their job they were workers yeah and that you worked in shifts and and you know you might be a farmer half the year and then the year the part of the Year where you couldn't Farm because the Nile was you know at its peak then you went and and

then they gave him be yes or or bear with me it was Ancient Aliens yeah right I mean which one's more like explain a lot damn which one is more interesting which one actually I did see a funny comedian that said that like the problem is that you've got two possibilities one is the aliens came down and built the pyramids and the other one is that brown people did it come on which one's more likely yeah yeah can I tell you one other history fact I know it's not about Egypt okay it's about India okay go on parge Mahal yes that would because you know aliens there was meant to be a second one oh so they built they spent a lot of money building the one out of white marble there was there was meant to be another identical one facing it

made out of black marble oh that'd be cool and it was meant to be two except I think he bankrupted out ofing the first one got bored well then you know what I'm so glad that they did them one at a time because if that was done today they would have laid two foundations and we would have had two half finished buildings yeah yeah and still bankrupt country anyway history who needs it yeah let's let's talk about fun stuff history what do you guys know about this Sony PlayStation handheld that's uh oh been announced this week so my understanding is that it it only functions if you have a PS5 yes and it's like a it's basically a PlayStation 5 controller cut in half with an iPad

shoved in the middle yes that's linked to your existing that sounds pretty good I'll be honest well here it does sound pretty good but you know what sounds better than that if they released a portable PlayStation 5 that was cheaper than buying a PlayStation 5 sure that I could go and get just to play my PlayStation exclusives on yeah I I reckon if if they had if they had a Xbox handheld and a PlayStation handheld that were decent enough and priced decently enough i' probably [ __ ] off the fullsize consoles I'll just have a rack with a bunch of handhelds well the thing with this right so this this it has the stuff has to run on your your PlayStation 5 that you've have hooked up at home it'll stream the video to it but which is kind of like oh Xbox Cloud but just not as

useful Xbox Cloud I can play behind I don't need my Xbox doing anything you don't even need Xbox I guess technically anymore if you're going to use oh so you're saying the actual PlayStation is is literally running correct it runs the game on your PlayStation and it streams the video to it that's my understanding of it that's Le that's even less interesting it's getting less and less interesting all hon now that I've said that did they even confirm if it can work over the Internet or is this just work in your house in which case it's even more useless correct yeah wow yeah I'm not so handheld device PR Q right now will allow play to stream games to the screen sense games won't run natively on the device meaning you'll need to install them on a PS5 and have good

Wi-Fi connectivity to stream them within your house yeah okay so playing another room is the benefit of this maybe yeah Ian if work the internet it'd still be kind of useful maybe but see but but if it says that having that installed on your console I defeats the purpose when I think of things like this I think this would be useful to me if I was traveling right so maybe on a plane that' be fun or if I was in a hotel neither of those situations am I going to have good Wi-Fi I'm I might have some but it's not going to be good so I I don't know this what with my like handheld a Neo thing I've got it's basically running window 11 so I've I need handh PC essentially right yeah so I I stream Xbox on the cloud to the game I don't stream I install the games so

the games are installed on there but it needs a connection to the internet to go hey you've got an account but it's not so oh but it doesn't need it doesn't need a good enough connection to it's just hey do you have an account yes no so I don't need to worry about having good Wi-Fi just some Wi-Fi to play it so like a steam deck you actually install them on there right yeah yeah like less useful a license yeah yeah so yeah Sony's just behind the ball on streaming at the moment like Microsoft is preparing for nvidia's already got their stuff I feel like each of them has like these weird things that they just can't get right like like Xbox is just not doing any VR stuff for some reason other than that they're doing buy into that Sony's got the great VR stuff and

now this handheld thing just seems silly and then Nintendo is like oh you've got kind of the sort of the best of both walls but the graphics in that aren't as good except all the cloud stuff is garbage like Cloud saves that kind of stuff is just super clunky on the on the switch like why have they fixed it that you can transfer your your yeah cuz I remember when it first came out you couldn't transfer your safe games you can manually upload them if you're paying for the for the switch online service but it's not autom I like about the the Xbox it just automatically does it there's no reason they couldn't do that literally everything else does it it's just I don't know Nintendo just can't get that stuff right but they've all got like flaws for some

reason the VR I I'd be pretty interesting in checking out this uh stranger things VR game that's coming out except it's for meta it's not even for PlayStation so mat oh yeah we all miss out the metaverse you No I gave it away oh all right I I I I just played poker and wanted to smoke so fair enough but meta dying off isn't it they're more well the mete certainly didn't take off the way they wanted I think and then John car got the shits and left so yeah I think they're more focusing on AI now than yeah that never going to work we got some AI news actually yes me laugh a lawyer is in big

trouble now because he uh he he was hired by a client who's suing an airline and he was putting together a you know I guess a brief or whatever you call it the kind of initial paperwork or whatever yeah and he asked chat GPT to find a bunch of Prior cases which it did and then he said are these real and chat gbd said of course yeah they're not as far as I know he didn't bother to check he just asked chat gbd submitted judge is now like these don't exist and he's in real [ __ ] CU that's he could to me that's like getting close to you're losing your license to practice because you're wasting everyone's time and his client could probably sue him for male pract for for you know poor representation or whatever now not doing your job like I'm

paying you to do this and you just went to J chat GP and went hey yes is this a thing so let this be a lesson and then other people are saying like what happens so GPT just made all this [ __ ] up mhm uh and we've now got people using chat GPT to make up stuff on the internet that's posting articles and stuff on the internet and then they're training it on the internet so like what point is are we just gonna everything's just going to be lies uh already right now is that point um because apparently it will just please you it'll just tell you what you want to hear um because I I was listening to some talk about they wanted they wanted they were doing some academic thing and they were like give me such and such an argument and then site some sources to

back that up and they weren't like write my essay for me but they were like just just do the the the the wireframe of it I'll write it but they made up sources they were like this book by this publisher by this person from this year doesn't exist doesn't exist but it's so funny CU I've I've started using chat gbt when I do creative work simply because I can just put in a whole bunch of brain vomit and then I go summarize that for me and it will and it's very very good at organizing random thoughts so I use it for that but at one point it said to me great idea I'm really excited to read this and I wrote back are you excited and it's like well no because I am a machine I don't get excited I'm like well they say that like just don't don't patronize me also Dan we're not

friends okay that's right yeah don't get the wrong idea about this yeah yeah oh I know when not friends when I asked him to nut out Nile the ball butcher it just [ __ ] really let let me have it not only did it say I won't write that because it's against my code of conduct it really judged me bad person for asking me to do it yeah yeah yeah so anyway let this be a lesson uh L is just be careful with ch I hear on a podcast somebody said you can um work around it if you give it Source material and you say please put together some quotes from the material I've given you that support this thesis it will do that quite nicely so you say here's here's a couple of documents uh I'm trying to make a case that this is something like say it's for

a legal case can you find some quotes and some citations in the documents I gave you it will do that okay but I have a question is this just going to lead to stupid people probably oh yeah because you know even though you're saying take it from here you're not going into that and learning that yourself you're just getting that to SP it out for you KN well I don't know when when I use when I use it for my creative stuff I have to stop it from trying to be creative like it'll go oh what about this I'm like no no no please don't generate ideas for me I'll do that I'm just I want you to help me like format my arguments well this is what the big thing for the rer block the rer strike at the moment is it's going we don't want oh my God you just nailed that why

aren't they calling this Rider's block Riders block 2023 and they're not they they're not saying not to use it but that shouldn't be replacing people which is what will happen because well they worried about like CU you can you can ask somebody for a spec script right my this is my understanding of it I'm not obviously I'm not a film film author writer um but you can pay somebody to write a kind of a spec script and you don't really pay as much for that as you would to have them write like you know a full-on it's not a full-on request for you to write the screenplay or whatever right so you can just kind of say give us a kind of a spec kind of thing you could then get a bunch of writers to do that give them all the chat GPT and then have it spit

out an actual script and then you just saved yourself a bunch of money if you're a studio now that is only marginally different from what happens now anyway because when I watch movies now I swear they were written by chat G PT that had just been told take existing tropes from all the popular movies right now and just write me the most generic script you can um but yes as you pointed out the difference is some dude's getting paid to do that you know he's being asked to be as uncreative as possible but he's he's still look I'm still start we need to start having the world needs to start having a conversation we're getting to the point where part of the population should just be able to not work and do anything how do we that we killed so that the rest of us

could live large I mean but you look at like a lot of future a future sort of things and everyone's together and like even like Star Trek there's the economics in that like you work but you don't y worry about money so you want anything you have it but then why does that woman live in a trailer in Picard as one any whatever doesn't matter get out of the city Matt just to get out of the right race um yeah yeah transition to I just don't have to do anything anymore and I get to do whatever I want yeah not worry about money I was as a rant I was watching from a composer the other day about how already in the industry most producers and directors will ask you you familiar with the work of Han simmer we're kind

of looking for that and it's like yeah yeah right bet you are yeah and it's basically everybody just needs to know how to do that now except not anymore cuz they won't need us to do that anymore they can just give it a give it all his existing scores this hard and Zimmer yeah yeah make sure it's different enough that I can't be sued but that's there's something cool in there not that not what you've just described but what if always said to chat gbt give us a brand new The Beatles album you know what I mean like sure what would the Beatles write if they were still around today and producing One More album there's something awesome about that because it would it would be so inspired by The Beatles you know beyond any human capacity to be inspire

um but terrifying at the same time but then again uh what that redheaded twe from England that wins all the Grammys uh Ed Sheran Ed Sheran see he knew um just got sued by the estate of Marvin Gay and and one right because now here's the thing he did steal that song that song is verbatim Marvin Gay but he did it on purpose because he was writing a 70s Style Soul ballad and if you want to write a 70 Soul ballad you use the same musical tropes that Marvin G was using changed it enough that to meet the requirements yeah that's the legal requirements correct because without copyright law it used to just be that

songs were songs and once you'd written one anyone could sing it change the words change the tempo whatever but now we have specific laws that says you're allowed to change this you're not allowed to change their children and their [ __ ] children yeah that's forever in yeah exactly right yeah not how it was supposed to work yeah never like the fact that you start selling it like that and yeah it ended on a somewhat positive note which was that that honestly the best thing you can do now is don't try and sound like H Zimmer just do what you do there are there will be an audience for it and either you'll get hired to do some work and you'll be happy or you won't and it's you wouldn't have been happy happy anyway yeah cuz

you knowed the soundtrack like everybody else get asked to do right exactly yeah uh yeah look while we're on movies Matt you've just finished a movie I did I literally just watched movie know about before this I watched if we're talking about cell 35 I watched this as well cell 35 I don't know what that is ah oh oh in the spreadsheet that we're all looking at yeah I'm looking C 35 what movie is that no that okay yes I just watched Evil Dead rise yeah you watched it as well yeah I did yeah yeah I hated how is it did you did you really okay I hated it and this is exactly what I'm talking about about movies that look like chat GPT wrote them this is so intent on making you think this is an evil dead movie by just employing every Trope from every Evil Dead movie but for

me it just didn't work I liked it but I don't and and yeah I know you mean it had a lot of callbacks a lot of lines stolen you know the shotgun and the chainsaw show up and uh Bruce Campbell's vo is in it and it's it's got all the bits and pieces and I liked it except it doesn't have any any of the humor at all no is it [ __ ] humorist tonally it's completely wrong because the whole thing about evil the previous one was too to be fair but it was more you in the remake the Evil Dead correct but at least more fun yeah it was fun this is very dire and the thing about this that I really didn't like it was just so on the nose it's like they were trying so hard to make this dark and Gothic right from the start and the whole point

of the Evil Dead is that they're in Paradise they're in a cabin in the woods that Trope has become scary because of the evil dead but the point was it was young people having a good time out in the woods and evil [ __ ] happens this was in a haunted [ __ ] semi-abandoned yeah complex peeling wallpaper lights barely work I don't know I I didn't I couldn't I couldn't buy into this yeah okay oh I mean I I liked it I'm glad you did because I was I was very aware that maybe on a different day or in a better mood I might have just gone along with it but I just I could see the The Producers standing over the filmmaker's shoulders going make it more evil Daddy yeah I mean it's listeners this is not unless you know that you like evil dead

and in particular unless you know you liked the remake of Evil Dead even maybe just be sure you want to watch this cuz it's very fullon like very they lean into the violence it's still different to The Originals yeah well there's no comedy in this at all no just misery just a just miserable from the beginning it's dead serious like I like the comedy stuff yeah me too it's the most it's also the most 2023 movie ever because it's like it's so it's so woke on purpose you know it's like the girl is very androgynous looks like a Boy the boy is very androgynous looks like a girl you know it's like it's just so it's so 23 yeah I know what you mean yeah actually one of the um the actor that plays the boy is trans well there you go I mean not that that matters but

no no no but it's just yeah it's just very here and now it's very off time and he Australian yeah that's right it's got asog from uh uh Vikings in it who I don't like just because I don't like a character in Vikings and I can't help tot [ __ ] in Vikings yeah because ltha was way better she replaced ltha yeah exactly ragar ragar you fool yeah what are you doing mate I still love in that first season of Vikings it might even be in the first episode when um is it athl red the priest the the monk is um he's been kidnapped essentially by the Vikings by Ragnar and his wife yeah yeah Tak him back to to Norway and um he's being forced to live in their house and and they're [ __ ] in like the other side of this one room house

and then they and he's like trying to ignore them and then at one point they stop and he comes over and he's like my wife wants to know if you want to get in on this and he's like no no thanks we don't do that suit yourself yeah I'm just on Google at the moment looking at like reviews of Evil Dead rise and pretty matching what you guys said like the difference like five five stars and one star they're sort of equal so you either love it or you don't I liked it but I can see where Dan's coming from and I also noted that the tone is very different yeah and I I was the same and I was watching it thinking I hope when Matt watches this he can buy into it because then he would really enjoy it in a way that I can't no I did it's got

some good stuff I mean the shots through the PE whole that that was all very cool like it's got cool some cool stuff like that in it it's got also actually there some some shots it's like a joke gag shot but it reminded me of dark city when the the sister puts a hand into the bathtub at one point oh yeah and there kind of a yeah there's some neat NE neat stuff like that that I like that kind of stuff when you said peephole I don't know why but I just thought of that quote you told us before we started mhm h but audience you'll never know you never know um yeah speaking of the audience we got some feedback on uh our conversation last week Luke Craig's written in oh about why you might want to live in the

please uh Bushcraft camping and Adventures yes check him out well that sounds excellent yeah know his Channel's good it's good content this one might have a yahi not promising anything but find out oh and another listener mclunky wrote in this week and sent me uh this the the the Esquire interview with uh Harrison Ford that I've put in here where it's got It's actually quite a good little interview with Harrison Ford talking about his career and they ask him a bunch of interesting questions but one of them in particular is about um it's not phrase as a question they just said at the time Blade Runner came out Ridley Scott was telling everybody decad was a replicant and you said he wasn't and then Harrison Ford says well I knew he Ridley Scott said that he was and I

wanted to push back on that because I thought a replicant would deny or believe that they were human so that's why so using character sure he said he knew but but the other thing is too it's it's still ambiguous in the movie so like this none of this doesn't bother me because I quite like that it's ambiguous and yes it's heavily implied especially in the director's cut that he's a replicant yeah but they don't say in the film so I don't care what ridy Scott says and I don't care what Harron Ford says it's interesting but it's not in the film so it's intentionally ambiguous yes yes and also the the book also that it's based The Source material also kind of weighs in on that if you care enough

to go back and look at that and also I think if Ridley says he's definitely a replicant and Harrison Ford had come out of the time and went yeah he's definitely a replicant then that's just the [ __ ] end of it the fact the fact that they disagree the director and the actor that played him disagreed gave us 40 Years of debate and then you watch the movie and you go well I don't know for sure yeah I mean you can interpret Edward Jones almost leaving a little uh yeah little unicorn unicorn outside his door as proof I mean that's a pretty big but it's not definitive but yeah he doesn't knock on the door and go hey replicant by the way you're a replicant yeah we all are we all we're all replicants see you later it's not such thing as a [Laughter]

human I think I don't know if it's this article or another interview that he's done orally but he was talking about um D Destiny as well oh yeah and about how um there's rting scenes and he was basically telling the stunk guys like leave me alone I'm old like just let he doesn't want it to be old jokes but he wants it to be clear like I'm an old man oh right so don't have some cool backflip stuff going on and and then it just cut back to him annoying yeah yeah it's like yeah I'm old the character's old let's not be silly I love I love that he's still doing all his interviews and I somebody asked him recently like oh who would win in a fight between Han Solo and Indiana Jones and he was like I'm not going to end answer that CU that's a [ __ ] stupid

question even his his manner in there like he just doesn't give a [ __ ] like he's never given a [ __ ] has he yeah he's just legit like he just he he he actually there was an interview I read recently about this where you know he was he moved to Hollywood he wanted to be an actor but he was like well that's quite hard and he's seeing all of his friends and people that he meets giving up and going home he's like I'm not going to do that I'm going to become a carpenter and then I'll just be a [ __ ] Carpenter if it doesn't work in Hollywood and you know Hollywood Life yeah have you heard the rumor about his carpentry he'd build like hot tubs and stuff with like little secret compartments for people to hide their

drugs in so like the flip up he was the cool Carpenter he was in through yeah was he yeah he was a cool dude and I think he was literally fixing George Lucas's door when he was first right yeah they were like can can you come and stand in cuz I think he worked with them on American Graffiti yes and then he was just doing work and then George was oh hey he wanted to just read with the other actors because somebody couldn't make it or whatever and then they were like hang on a minut I mean he'd had some good roles and he he'd been in Apocalypse Now for Francis cop best friend that's what I meant yeah and he has some of the best lines in that entire movie in the one scene that he's in um and also remember how [ __ ]

handsome he was like you can't just be that handsome and not have people go do you want to be in a movie yeah if just hanging around these dire yeah yeah just ask Carrie Fisher how handsome he was that's right um speaking of his relationships though he rocked up to the KH premiere of um this with kalista flart I was like oh yeah he married Ali MCB i' forgotten about that and they didn't sit them next to each other they got to their and he to my move people around um but then he got a five minute standing ovation after the movie which is which is normal for KH though but I did read things that five minutes wasn't very long yeah I was about yeah sometimes they they just stand there for 20 minutes um I've heard this as awful um yeah me too which makes

me either why not want to wait ages till I see it or see it as soon as I can to put myself out of misery yeah it's a hard thing and this is the thing you should never go off exactly what other people say because just because other people say it's doesn't mean you're not going to like it yeah variety came out with the the headline Hollywood please stop daging actors um and Harris in response to this and Harrison Ford came out and went this is not like some photoshop thing they've got footage of me when I was that age and they literally just cropped my face out so shut up that is me young yeah yeah and I it depends I don't know from what I've seen it's I think it's a bit different to the normal daging this is going to be time travel so what are you

meant to do well we'll see we'll see yeah like he's meant to be in the past how is he don't be aging when he's in the past I don't think I'm going to be going to the movies to see this I haven't even seen Guardians 3 yet I'm not going to go see neither have I I quite enjoyed Guardians 3 yeah I'm sure I'm sure I'll enjoy it too I just haven't gotten around to it what when they we became the people we had kids and we've become those people Dan yeah yeah that's right open World Indiana Jones game that I literally saw a trailer for five years ago where is that oh I'm almost got canell no no no it's still in the work is it though someone's actively working on it right now um new Indiana Jones game everything we know so far you've been drinking out of a Blade Runner Cup

this whole time talking about Blade Runner no mention of it yeah sorry got my glass still in the very very early stages of the they're not doing it the couple is a replicant that's not real whiskey it's it's Indiana Jones is one of the many upcoming Bethesda games it's not though is it but yeah very very early stages so we're probably looking 2026 oh at least mate early stages of a massive open World um being done by guys who did Wolfenstein oh yeah which Wolfenstein the the New Order ones New Colossus they were good I enjoyed those they weren't open world though no they were not closed first person shooters which but yeah Indiana Jones canot be a first person shoer just first

person fbws that famous sub genre um I watched the [ __ ] two and a half hours worth of disco elesium explainer I didn't I just sent it to you and I thought he'll tell me no I took it I took one for the team um I can sum this up in under a minute if you guys want to know I would love to know so this is about all the controversy that they've got at the studio with people Le who got sacked who didn't get sacked and stormed out who owns rights who stole right pry good journalism like they literally went and talked to all these [ __ ] people like they literally went to Estonia watched the trial and then went interviewed everyone nice um I hope they get some money back out of this to make up like

an expensive Endeavor on I think the creative team who came up with the idea for disco alium and wrote the story and did the artwork are exceptional creatives they are terrible business people yeah and they are terrible people managers MH so while it was just a collective of artists coming up with cool ideas it worked very well when they had to become a business they essentially got on real bus people who made real bus decisions but the creatives didn't understand that if you going to get a million dollars off a venture capitalist they want lots of money back sure yes they don't just want a million dollars back yeah and they want control over the IP they want to be able to insist you add things that you

might not have otherwise added to make it more commercial etc etc etc um so that was the first problem was that these creative people used to just living in a basement of money correct and then they got the shits now also this that's the first problem the second problem is that it went from their little creative Collective to a software studio with coders and developers and all of these people who are just doing a 9 to-5 job who aren't you know sweating their blood and tears and political ideologies into it this is a job and uh By the time these people got on the the creatives are like no no we think of the ideas and then you just work around the clock to make them

happen and they're like n dude what you're describing is just a really shitty boss you know um and So eventually it got to the point where these creatives just being there were creating this toxic environment and both the employees and the owners of the company were like you guys need to either Branch off and do your own thing like start working on a sequel or something like that or just leave the company and let us release the game yeah because all you're doing coming in coming up with new ideas making people change things and stuff you actually don't have the authority to do that anymore because we're in charge now because we bought the idea off you and um all you're doing is making everyone miserable right yeah so I can see it

from both sides but unfortunately I think the artists are are wrong right I've I've dealt with these kind of artists all the time working both sides of the cre they thought they were just getting like money and still got to do whatever they want yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah because at one point too the part of the lawsuit was that they demanded to see like work that the company were doing after they had already left and they were like no you were completely privy to that information while you were here and you never asked to see it because you didn't want to do any of the business side of it all you wanted to do was be creative and come up with cool ideas and while that was your job that was fine and now that you're off starting up your new company trying to

make new games we're not just going to let you become our biggest rival and then give you all our kind of right corporate assets at the same time so colossal misunderstanding on their part and a lesson learned hopefully um but the thing is if um if there is a disco elium 2 it will be released by the rights holders which is the people who made the game not the people who created the game yeah For Better or For Worse um but those people are free to create a holy new game if they if they so desire all right we'll wait and see weit see I I'd be surprised if they get anything off the ground though so would I yeah sounds like well I don't know maybe maybe they'd have to prove they've learned now right because people G think twice about it probably

oh definitely or some [ __ ] billionaire who just love disco elium might just becoming like an angel investor you know what I mean and just say here's the money go do it look no I I think even with that even if they to get that I think they still need to bring someone on who can actually keep it on track and I I I think that's the problem that they'll have there was this um a French film director in the 60s called hry George clo who was the most popular he he was like cubric ay movies but that made money right so everyone went to see him and a studio at one point said just to get you on board we want the next one blank check and no deadline so just whatever you want to spend we'll just keep giving you the money and however long you want to spend

on it oh and surprise the [ __ ] prize there was never a movie because he just kept shooting and shooting and shooting and then he'd have a new idea okay this actor's out a new actor's in we'll consider all of that just to be test footage right and you know and it just it just never never ended yeah yeah you need people to keep creative people on track yeah here the end point yeah or you who just happens to do both yeah like that does exist but yes yes like how dare I say it a George Lucas sure yeah who I oh that was the other thing they asked Harrison Ford was who's the better cook um George or stei Spielberg or James Mangold oh and he said um he said Steven Spielberg's Dad or Mom was a was a was a chef so he might be all right James mangal's good cookie said

in a sequel and then the director said no no they're too good Ezra is too good in this movie and it's like hang on a minute guys stop it he assaulted people he broke into people's homes he didn't kidnap he was just he questioned about an underage girl away from her family if that's not kidnapping I don't I can't wait to see this movie I know I got to find a babysitter when this comes out like I'm not waiting around for starters I didn't realize until you broke at last week well we were we going to say that sorry I shouldn't yeah yeah that's out yeah it was out but we said it in the Afterparty it's not out oh on I'll make a note of this 57 we can we can beep it it's just I mean they they've come out and

said it so I am so happy about that because here's the thing that is such a good example of good fan service sure right like bad service bad fan service is Disney now take their casting suggestions from the internet you know what I mean oh everyone wants Toano to be played by um Rosario Dawson Rosario Dawson okay fine we'll do that that's terrible this going we all know see see now I can't talk about it without a spoiler I'm sorry I'll beep all of this all right um in then and didn't get to so here you go anyway I'm sorry this this movie must be amazing yeah well it just seems like such an odd thing to say that they must really

believe it because who the [ __ ] is gonna who who the [ __ ] comes out and says no no I know I know Isa did some horrible things but you haven't seen the movie yet this comic book movie people didn't even say that about pansy like people went yeah like people just said like palansky is a rapist and other people went yeah I'm just not going to think about that and like these films are still we Awards nobody no one said CH is so good that it doesn't matter who he raped yeah yeah you go it's just yeah no it's fine we'll let him off is so good that he's he's paid his Penance now yeah you can get back in Jack Nicholson's pool anytime you want mate it's weird that they're they're talking about them though like

it's and and to go so far as to say no he's great at it and all this instead of just what I thought they'd be doing like going we've got to release the movie because there too much so we'll we'll just try and play it down and say we're just getting him help and leave it at that I just think it's yeah super odd like extreme position to to all be coming out with like super weird to be like no no no obviously don't agree with any of that stuff yeah but he see the movie guys cuz that's the thing we had tipped this 100% this movie will not come out when all this St up we're like well they got to throw this in the bin cuz he just kept he it was a crime spree worse and worse and they just relas and then attack someone out couldn't find Ezra Miller

anywhere like and then the studio were like guys we can't not release this movie it's so [ __ ] good have you seen the movie yeah when you see it you'll know why we turned to Blind eyed to all of this when the judge sees this he'll drop the charges don't worry about it when the parents of that missing girl watch this yeah uh look before we go to the after party I just want to tip also some good TV that I watched um and I watched on Netflix this week uh there's one episode I don't know why there's not more I assume there's more coming it's called Frankenstein's monsters monster Frankenstein oh yeah okay I had heard just before this is written by and starring David Harbor right MH and if I'm giving you the elevator pitch this

is the American GTH mangi okay so David Harbor plays himself investigating his father who was an actor right um and made a Frankenstein TV show back in the 70s and he is piecing together bits of this lost show and also speaking to people who were involved in it back in the day right um but he the way that he portrays the father is essentially a caricature of Aon Wells they even do the pmer song commercial except it's for such and such roast beef but he's in the white suit and he's sitting there just gorging himself on this beef before they start rolling camera it is hilarious all right I have to watch this and the running gag is no one knows what to call because you know everyone calls the

monster Frankenstein like that's 100 Years of 20th Century Cinema has just made that synonymous and that's part of it so he's like downstairs with Frankenstein they're like I thought you were Frankenstein he's like look happens enough that I just go with it now all right I have to watch it it's on Netflix you said one half hour episode is on Netflix Oh Netflix is warned us about password sharing same yeah it's warned us too it's happening it's happening yeah yeah yeah did you see like Prime videos response no you got a screen use it sure yeah I forget exactly what it was but they were like you're paying for a screen use your screens essentially what yeah yeah I guess if you you pay the five screen package it's not like you're getting less money but

uh did you see Blockbuster Video tweeted and and said uh you know our policy was we didn't care how many people watched it as long as you brought it back on time yeah [ __ ] I paid a lot of money in late fees from uh video not block Right video easy though so Prime video UK they put up on their Instagram like who's watching and so this is response to Netflix and you how you can set up accounts and so they've got um who's watching everyone who has our password and a heart that was their response to Netflix down like yeah because Netflix did it first if Netflix hadn't done this Prime would be cracking down just as much as anyone else but now they're going for that that anti Crackdown dollar look think this is a weird thing
