this week I was both excited and then disappointed by the developer direct and the indie game welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy straight into it straight into it I excited I was looking forward to it they announced we're going to see footage for it and in my head I was thinking like an Uncharted Tomb Raider SL type of game third person yeah same no at least Tomb Raider right you expect to at least look as good as Tomb Raider yeah Indie with big tits Tomb Raider is based on Indiana Jones ripped off from
you might say and yet this looks more like Wolfenstein well I mean it's made by the guys in May Wolfenstein and I was like watching it I kept reminding myself I'm like those games are very good but you don't have a whip in those games yeah the whip looks dumb the whip looks dumb and here's I'm gonna have to play it to to know yeah and I will play this because there's did did we tell did we say we're talking about the Indiana Jones game I'm not even sure you said it Indie I'm assuming okay Indiana Jones great circle yeah they we're going to call it indana Jones in a pretty good Circle and then they're like no [ __ ] it let's go all in it's a great circle um Harrison Ford not doing the voice but someone who sounds a bit like him iser tro yeah which I could sort of
understand like Harrison out like yeah he's pry he has no interest in any of this no he was never G but he went Baker very interested in this extremely interested does a better job I think than um the voice over for fate of Atlantis sure although the fate of Atlantis voice gets a pass because I'm used to it anyway like yes I found I was watching this trailer listening very carefully trying to pick apart the voice like not on purpose but waiting for him to he does a good job drop it a bit but he does a pretty good job yeah Well's I mean he's a professional he's um Booker from um BioShock Infinite and and a billion other gam and yeah's yeah he's cool dude I don't know
like not really because it's a puzzle game but also not so it's going to be this whole thing like you can decide how to do the mission you get stealthy yeah it was honestly I was like into it until it showed the combat and then I was like oh no until it showed the whipping yeah the whipping looks dumb the whipping went into the like just punching in first person and I was like no I don't want I fight or to Traverse those are the bits I skip in fate of Atlantis was the punching bits that's right yeah not interested and you can choose in fate of is it fate of Atlantis or is it the other one where you can choose to not have any combat and just have puzzles or yeah fate of Atlantis has three branches where you can choose like basically was it wits fists or
teamwork fist or dick yeah and you just [ __ ] your way yeah that's implied that's implied well we don't have that long to wait which is good it's coming out this year that's what you like is when they just announce it we get it yes yeah they're saying they not saying pre-order but they are saying wish list um it's this year which is good um it's coming straight the game pass so a lot about this interests me it could still be good story good it's got Nazis again which we've established is the only way Indie works is if there's Nazis as the bad guy Russian work Russians don't work um I mean they could they just but they didn't yeah um it's got that kind of connection between what
it looks like the connection between pyramids and Cairo versus pyramids in Peru and all that stuff which is interesting that's in the mure of Indie it's set between Um Zack McCracken set between the movies between the Last Crusade yes yeah right because that's the last one so they couldn't set it after that because literally nothing happens after that that's right nothing We'll Never Last Crusade no no we know what happened he had to go back and be that night that's right that Knight would have gone to his house the next day being like excuse me you have to do the thing now I drank it and then I did the thing for a thousand years you thought destroying my house was going to get you out of it it hasn't
yeah yeah by the way the first thing you might want to do is rebild that [ __ ] Temple put all those cups back on the Shelf bring that broom you're going to need it and get thaty [ __ ] out of my Chasm yeah yeah she's still down there I can hear her uh what do you think Indie looks like how do you how do you feel about BET's face because I can't decide if I like it or not it's bit belly it honestly just depends on the on the shot yeah it's fine it's just yeah I mean it's a video game I guess yeah I'm just hoping that the tone of the game is serious enough that I can get into it and Overlook these things like serious like Raiders not unserious like Crystal Skull
you know yeah so I um I watched it yesterday and then just today I said to Jenna oh can I show you something a trailer real quick and I put it on and it started and she was like oh interesting until it came up with um produced by Todd Howard and then she oh [ __ ] and then because Jordan's up here as well she goes what what's problem she go he did Skyrim one of the greatest games ever yeah she hates Bethesda games but this is just distributed by Bethesda right this is It's machine games yeah the yeah it's really machine games that yeah yeah so the Wolfenstein
but then Todd Howard talks up how he came up with the story yes in the he literally says story for Indiana Jones and like who can I have make this for me he was the one that ped at the stuff but then also he is Todd Howard yeah say this a lot of the a lot of the trailers that we saw in the last you know 24 hours were IND dispersed with a lot of interview footage devs and and and and artists and things like that I find that less and less interesting as Game Dev companies become more and more corporatized do you know what I mean like this is no longer Romero and and um and you know John like carpenter carpenter John karmak sitting around in t-shirts going [ __ ] what can we do
this is like a boss and employees talking about their job that's how I got disillusioned when I was gonna make game well that's why I went to I went to UNI to to learn and then like during that period it became more like this yeah yeah I don't get to be creative well [ __ ] it then I don't care yeah yeah I'd rather play games and we've talked for it's come full circle now because you can make indie games but I think uh just before we I mean there plenty more to say about this stuff but I just need to interject for a second just talk about um Alan Wake to man you need to put this on the top of the list yeah there's some did I put this in here there's some Allan Wake news in a way I don't think I did put it
in here but it's actually it's related to another one but yeah it's that good is it it is amazing I kept telling you all both and got up to the level which is the one where I went you guys need to play this yeah there was a there was a bit where he said you you'll know it now it was kind of foreshadowed by something else that happened um outside of the game yes which I think was all almost a spoiler yeah the game awards yeah yeah and I've seen it now too because I purposely didn't want to watch it before I played it in the game and there's no spoilers per se but it's just what a sequence man what a [ __ ] and it goes on and on and on like so good so
good the the the bizarre humor of this universe yeah like jxap POS with the she darkness of it all is just it just Taps right into my my my heart both sides of the story you've got the FBI agent you got Ellen wake and both of them the story just keeps getting better and better for both and it's not one you sort of focus on you want to see I'm finally up to the point now where I can switch between at wheel yeah and so because I now I'm finally like Oh The Shoe Box is is finally useful now like I can put things in there for the other person to use um which I haven't done but that is that is how that works right Luke I can no no I can't do that
okay okay talking about so um The Shoe Box does come a bit useful a bit later especially with the FBI because okay but stuff Alan puts in that only he can use and stuff she puts in their only [ __ ] they have different okay I'm not sure about he but they've got different weapons you know what's yeah of course you know what's funny too though is that like in the early parts of the game no spoilers she she goes into the woods looking for Clues right at one point you find a shotgun and you're like cool I'm keeping this and you use it she comes back out and her partner's there like right let's get back in the car back back to town it's like in real life wouldn't you be like did you have that shotgun before you went in there like no I just found it like is
that evidence should we book that no I'm just going to use it I'm just going to shoot with it who's that registered to yeah you you went looking for a murderer and you found a gun mate you you can't shoot anybody with that random shotgun you found in the I've been shoo not at people but at like ghosting things for the last 10 minutes while you're up here doing what I'll explain in the car the you're not getting in my car give me the shotgun yeah so I've got my uh I've got my g-cloud back there I could crack it on uh play some Allen wake you should and and that's that's it's Alan that single-handedly made me decide to pull the trigger on my own cloud device which is coming couple of days um because I don't ever want to not
be playing it and I'm going to be very disappointed when it's over but are you remedy's in a little bit of legal trouble no oh yes that's they they've changed their logo now to be like an r and Rockstar have come out and come on they always had an R it just didn't look that much like an R like they look nothing alike except for the fact they both have an R so like remedy predate Rockstar oh no no not really but Rockstar didn't they publish early remedy games uh yes Rockstar published Max P oh yeah you're right from the second one onwards and I think they still own Max p 3 they owned Max P verbatim they own they when when they got Rockstar to publish it they had to sign away IP so
rock rockstar can do what they want with it now which is why three was so about Max they are remastering Max ban games yes oh they're coming out soon just like we so but I'm I'm still playing it on the on the Game Boy Advance which I'm really enjoying actually well update on the g-cloud I have removed the factory you know thing on the screen I peeled that off and put a proper screen protector on it's officially yours now I'm keeping it yeah definitely keeping it now we always were keeping it like it like I said I just I didn't know when I bought it how much I was going to love it but I actually at home sat in the living room and played Resident Evil 2 because I just forgot I play it on a big screen on Xbox I'm just I'm just used to
it now so now how it's a seven inch screen yes yes yeah so that's that's decent enough for Tex seven inches is quite big oh yeah yeah there's nothing to be ashamed of Luke absolutely nothing I mean I'll say some Xbox stuff and actually when I loaded up uh balers gate um in Nvidia GeForce now I was like oh okay I have to adjust some stuff because it was a little bit small small yeah yeah but but I mean it's bigger than but you could you could make enough adjustments that oh yeah it's bigger than a switch it's bigger than I mean it's bigger than any handheld console I've ever seen I think it's bigger than the steam deck screen Okay so what what's uh so what you what did you get we I know probably get yeah yeah yeah I mean I can't really talk about it
much I haven't haven't got yet but I bought I bought the absolute which is spelled axy loot yeah yeah and uh for the simple reasons that gcloud is not available in Australia it would cost me a grand to get one over um and I basically I watched every review on YouTube of every cloud handheld in about a 48 hour period and and then narrowed it down to this so yeah excited I don't know why we're getting a bit screwed over with some of the stuff now for a while we quite well stuff releasing like in Australia don't have this especially this because but when you said that you had it Matt actually I seen it kind of pop up a little bit in the weeks before
um not that it's brand new it's been out for at least a year right but it's um yeah I played one at PAX East last year briefly like they had a booth and I tried it out and I was like oh that's quite good actually but people are liking it like people are basically saying because I read one review that tell me if this is true Matt or if it's not so obviously if you're if you've just got to say the Xbox or the PlayStation app and you're streaming from your PlayStation you you that's that's just how that works right yeah if you didn't have a PlayStation but you subscribed on this to the PlayStation version of Game Pass can you play games through the cloud without owning a PlayStation I've never tried the PlayStation thing I should because I
I actually have a PlayStation 5 and I could do it and I could test that theory I don't know I know with the Xbox Xbox Cloud you could do that but you wouldn't be able to play all of your games yeah no but you'd only be able to play the games that areil on Xbox Cloud for example res but you could do it without ever having bought an Xbox correct yeah but like Resident Evil 2 is not available on Xbox Cloud if I didn't have an Xbox could run it on at home and stream it to me I wouldn't be able to play that you wouldn't be able to play it it is the future it is where they're going but it's just not on yeah and same with with um GeForce now which I have on there as well not everything is available on GeForce now like if you want to play on the you have to get generally it's Steam
games and some other platforms but not much and there was a game I was interested in today actually I forget what it's called something Syndicate it's like looks a bit like disco alium but it's only on Windows and it's not available on GeForce now it's definitely not available on that thing so I was like well forget it yeah so just to be clear though when you your gForce games that you were playing on your Mac through gForce you're not streaming from your Mac just you're just straight to the cloud Nvidia yeah yeah Nvidia service and again not all of so not all of the games I can play on my Mac I could play on this thing because they've got to have controller support too like for example there are games I can't think of an example top my head but Boulders gate
has UHS yeah because it's on Xbox and Playstation of course yeah it's quite different in fact when I loaded it up I was like oh [ __ ] all right it's very it's it's very different but good like it's well thought through the way that they changed them but yeah I want these radial me uh radial menus instead of like on the Mac I just click you know like to open my inventory I hit I and my inventory opens you can't do that on a console so you have to come up with different thing for everything it seems very high fantasy compared to something like Skyrim which feels a little bit more medieval is that fair to say more elves and stuff oh yeah yeah oh yeah definitely yeah yeah lots of differentes of creatures and things ands and demons
and you you you go to like a hell Dimension and stuff like more more t five minutes is loving way way more yeah's playing it quite a lot but I I I like the game if you want it to be I would played but this is a game you need to commit to it's not a game you can log on and then I'll come back and play now 3 weeks time because you're not going to remember what you're doing what the buttons were it's just it's so clever the way that like if you want to take it like really seriously then it can be a very serious game but if you just like you know we've played Dungeons and Dragons that is that's D and D though right yeah exactly if you want to if you do stupid stuff it's with you on I I I told you that story about The Gnome on the windmill
and all that kind of stuff where if you turn the wind up it just cuts to this wide shot into the distance and then you get this journal entry up there it says The Gnome has died like it's so good amazing U speaking of high fantasy I started reading a book I've got to make a slight confession um I I've actually never read Lord of the Rings right I had it read to me as a child and I've always kind of thought that counted it doesn't really read it to you yeah yeah I um but my I I started reading it properly uh this week uh it's it's very it's quite good um I think so ring the thing is though it's too long and it's very
long-winded and if I was an editor I would be like this could be one book mate like you you've said what this scene is about and they're still talking all of this is it's also like it's sporadically long-winded too because there are some parts where he's just like get straight to business and then there other parts where he's just like we're [ __ ] around in Rivendell and I'm GNA write a lot of words about it like yeah everyone's just chatting now and they're now they're singing another song but the thing is to I also feel it's two different books do you skip the songs there's okay so I'm listening to it on audio book it's being read by yes it's being read by Andy Circus who's good because he does all the voices and I
think he does each Hobbit in the accent of the actor who played it in the film so he's doing the Scottish accent for um uh Mary and he's doing the like the Welsh West country accent for um Sam and all of this uh he does sing all the songs but I find anytime it's about Hobbits it's light and fluffy and not very interesting and then suddenly it's like tolken is bipolar and then suddenly he gets all depressed and starts going [ __ ] wraiths and [ __ ] black and saon and [ __ ] it's a completely different tone all of a sudden wasn't he on drugs I don't think so he's very old man and he was like a Oxford Professor I think he was so he's a drunk maybe or so was talking oh that's true oh guess was everybody back then I think
they were best mates those two actually yes best mates yeah two best mates in the room Anything Could Happen you have that Meme yeah you seen that remember that talk and and such a specific audience oh Matt just ejaculated yeah I've frozen haven't I back it with an absolutely fantastic yeah Frozen moment okay you were very excited you're still in does it mean where it's like you know am I am I Frozen we can hear you yeah but we can hear you so let it go oh [ __ ] oh there's a lot of that going on in my house right now a lot of Frozen not a lot of letting it
go not a lot of me singing Let It Go there's a there's a meme where there like you know two best friends in a room you know like you know like your your boy and your girl best friend in high school and it's like get left alone and they start making it or whatever I think that's what the joke is but then sure at think that ever happen to no that happened to me far less than Hollywood movies would suggest one of the one of the kids was kept saying it about Jared and Justin and everyone was like they're Brothers it's not two best friends and also why yeah why would what what why would no never mind no no no it's just just like do you two just start
making two best friends in a room yeah yeah and it's like no no no that's not appropriate in this circumstance the internet always wants to put people into a relationship this um actress that I worked with in Singapore nurel she's one she's probably the she's like a pop star as well and she's like one of the most famous Singaporean celebs name droing now aren't we twin brother it's not that exciting she's got a twin brother who um is also extremely famous in the band and he's also an actor but they constantly get tried and to be cast as a couple and they're like we're brother and sister and they're like yeah but the two hottest you know stars in the and they're like we're brother and sister yeah we're not going to play a
ever and it's not even like you could even go that like that they're like distant cousins or something don't brother and sister it's not a yeah yeah yeah I've never made out with my cousin like if it was distant cousin L I've never made out with your cousins either I'm not going to admit that I have oo not on the show no definitely on the show um so yeah stay stay tuned for my review of Lord of the Rings you know 2023 franchise is gonna take off at all Dan starts to read a book first one I also started WR Dan starts a book and then I was like well now you got to ask me what my book's about I'm like no no I'm not starting writing a book I'm
starting to read a book well and also you don't actually I assume you will one day though that's the thing I assume about you is I'm I'm actually writing what I'm calling a practice book at the moment because uh I I started a few yeah I've wanted to write a book for ages and I started I started one a couple of years ago quite seriously and I've got the entire thing mapped out but I just cannot write the damn thing like I just can't write the words right um so I thought well let me just let me just come up with something dumb and see if I could just write you know 60,000 words of just some dumb story I come up with and not be hard on myself like not be like this has to be publishable but just see if I can actually write it so I'm currently 10,000 words into
that see my problem is I I I've started and I have sitting there the beginnings of books I can't decide what type of writer I want I'm G to be am I gonna be funny or am I going to be very serious science fiction or is it going to be like a murder mystery like I think you've just question this needs to be a very serious but occasionally extremely funny science fiction murder mystery that's probably the answer write this the [ __ ] down I would read the [ __ ] out of that I didn't need to write it down it's it's recorded it's all there no Matt you do need to write it down that's the only thing that's stopping this from being a book is that you haven't written down no no no I'll just I'll just slowly reveal the book on
this podcast and then we'll be that's also fine too that's how that's how all the great books used to be serialized true I started watching something actually I started watching a couple of things but I'll just tell you about one really quickly um I started watching something because it was described to me as science fiction and it's not I've seen the whole first season now and I would say it's more Dark Fantasy than science fiction but have you guys heard of the changeling I've heard of it I don't actually recall what it is it's very disturbing it's quite dark it's kind of set New York City it's about a a guy who meets silly only in summertime um it's uh
there's a a guy marries this girl she meets a witch she gets wishes off this witch but he doesn't know what they are they have a baby she then murders the baby and he's trying to find out what's going on and what's the deal with these witches and shapter that old cliche probably cuz I'm just going changeling I just think Shape Shifter well she murders the baby and he's like you murdered our [ __ ] baby and she's like it wasn't a baby so season two might reveal is that how you get out of it is it that was a baby no but see like it sounds like how could you possibly make a show about this it's really serious and he goes [ __ ] psycho and he goes to her work
with a gun and and like all of this stuff and then he's in this group therapy and they're like what would you going to do when you found her he's like kill her and then kill myself like it's it's full on but it's got witches and fairies it's not Science Fiction it's not science fiction at all no also not for me but also Z said like it was a baby she's not a baby is it a dog and I was just yeah it's a baby it's a joke which no one will get no that's right uh yeah good but I was at a certain point I was watching it to hopefully just want everything to be okay as opposed to watching it to see what happens you know I don't have any TV show news because as I told you guys before we
started recording it I'm watching friends for the first time I've never seen friends but everybody else has so there's nothing I'm going to say what do you think I think it's it's funnier than I thought it was going to be like I genuinely laugh out loud at times I I told you there's that episode where Monica starts dating a friend of her parents who's older it's Tom celic plays parent and there's an episode where her dad is like oh you got a young piece of ass have you maybe you know let me have a go and I'm like [ __ ] not verbatim no no he says he says he says maybe one weekend I'll lend you the car and then you can you know and then and like Ross is like Dad can [ __ ] her in the car it doesn't mean you can
lend me the he say I'll lend you I'll lend you the Porsche you lend me the and then Ross is like Dad you don't want to go there amazing see I would say like I've never like I've watch I've seen friends I haven't watched Friends like I've seen a lot of it but I wouldn't be able to tell you I I told Jen before we started I was like there are things I know about it like three things in particular which I said as I know Ross and Rachel go are on a break I know Chandler gets a job in another state and I know that Joey says are you do Chandler gets written out of the show Matt oh is that what happens all right yeah that's when Chandler was in his he's on a break phes and some there's some other odds and ends that I've seen because how can you not know certain things about it but like I said
it's actually very I'm surprised I never watched it to be honest I think I would have liked it you probably didn't watch it because it was such a cultural phenomenon and you were probably turned off by the hype of it because it remember I didn't watch a lot of TV back in the day like I know I always played video games I didn't watch a lot of stuff in fact in the 90s think mostly I watched like Buffy and Angel and then played video games yeah yeah and the Reas I watch I watched it with you guys so it was like yeah almost like a social thing that we've got that was me friends as well when friends started styler and I were obsessed with it and we were obsessed with it because we couldn't decide which one of us was Chandler and which one of
us was Ross we knew neither of us were Joey that's that much that much we knew yeah um we didn't really have a joey but uh it's it's it's good I do like it I tape it off after a while but I've kind of gone back as well and and and watched i r for a long time it ran for like years years yeah yeah it is it's well written sometimes and I think I mean obviously they're all Mega stars that we're getting a million dollars an episode but I think even despite that Jennifer Aniston is not given the credit as a great comedian that she is like she deliver like everyone else is like all the funny one she's kind of the the straight one in a way but I think her skill of playing that character with the seriousness she does like
Phoebe is just a joke constant joke right Chandler as well Chandler is a very you know he's stereotype yeah even Joey everything he does is op whereas where whereas J Rachel is a well written character that just happens to be hilarious at the same time sure yeah that's good I'm liking it surprised if I see I mean like a if I'm away on holidays and it's I'll leave it on like it's a it's a fun to watch I love this it's 2024 I'm reading Lord of the Rings for the first time Matt's watching friends Luke anything you're massively behind the times on I'll just go back to Spies Like Us because the we we started I've also never watched Seinfeld oh Seinfeld is even better Matt
I tried to we tried to watch Seinfeld the problem I had with Seinfeld is that the episode is just like almost a non sequit in I don't know if it changes later on but it's like there's no beginning and there's no end no it's just a window in yeah all credits all of a sudden the credits roll and it's like well what the [ __ ] happened well that's why it's the show about nothing well they never said that though and in fact Larry David apparently gets annoyed when people say that because no it's clearly about things but it's not yeah no I uh yeah I know I couldn't get into science I watched an episode this week because sometimes episodes just poping up and the funny thing is too if you look at the lists of episodes there'll be one you be like seen it too many times seen
it too many times seen it too many times only seen it once somehow yes and then you know so there's one there was one that I suddenly popped into my head um Luke do you remember the yo the lowfat yogurt shop that turned out to have fat in the yogurt and everyone was eating there going it's fat free but everyone was getting fat y um but at the the the B plot to that was that Jerry accidentally swore in front of this lady's kid and so he has to apologize to him but then he keeps getting in situations where that kid keeps hearing him swear and um it's it's it's quite funny it's quite funny but I like I like SE I think maybe gets better like with the you've seen like some episodes to death is when free to Air at the time remember the Simpsons like he saw the
first like three seasons to death I me there all these new seasons coming out but you never saw them because they just kept doing that's what really throws you still going I still can't believe it Matt if you if you want to see whether or not you like Seinfeld there's a two-parter and I think it was the Cliffhanger of one season in the first episode of The Following season this a two-parter uh Kramer goes to California he moves to California and while he's there he gets mistaken for a serial killer and gets investigated and at the same time oh and he's trying to be an actor so that's why he goes there so it's the a plot is him trying to be an actor and go audition he's like
on Murphy Brown yeah yeah he's getting rolls and so that's funny but then also this B plot of this hard boil detective trying I've seen that clip of him Murphy Brown sorry go on but but then also Jerry and George go out there to try and bring him back I forget what plot reason they need to bring him back for but there's something um and if you don't like that that pair of episodes you won't like any of it because that not that that's the best but I just think you would find that funny it's not that I don't like it because I've seen obviously I've seen it like it's been around it's just that I've never sat down and watched all of it all the way through a difference and watching season one we watched a bunch episodes and I was just
like ah this you know I don't like with friends for some for some reason now I'm just whatever is about it I'm just like yeah no no I want to keep watching this let's go they were famously like the first ones to get paid a million an episode they must have got I know that because I was trying to think about this even in the first season they had some big guests and I was like how the [ __ ] did it get so big so quickly like this is also the sitcoms they kind of they them yeah exactly so it's not like they made it and then you've got a first season sitting there if you four episodes in and you're the number one show then suddenly episode five is going to have a special guest and and celebrities are like I want to be on that show also shows how quickly
television shows started getting paid a lot because I think Seinfeld they were famous for getting like $100,000 an episode and then very quickly after that friends were the ones where up to like a million and not only that all the stars of Friends started dating celebrities like Julia Roberts is in friends because she was dating Matthew Perry apparently Brad Pitts in there because he was with of course yeah yeah yeah so they just start getting these big name cele have you gotten up to that episode Matt no oh it's it's funny because he [ __ ] hates her season two yeah he hates her and he him and Ross hated her in high school and now obviously Ross is in love with it but he doesn't know that so Brad Pit's like what a [ __ ] [ __ ] hey Ross and he's
like well the one with Julia Roberts is this it's like a two-parter with with vanam is in it as well Jen Rachel and Monica are trying to both trying to [ __ ] vanam and then and he's like we get up three some and they're like no no no no and then I remember this Matt and then and then the other side of it is is um Chandler is dating this makeup artist who was it's Julia Roberts except it goes on for two episodes and then the the the at the end of it in high school he lifted her dress up so everyone could see her underwear so the whole point of it is that she's not even dating him at the end of it she like tricks him into into a stall in a in a restaurant to like have sex but then she's like I want we I want you to wear
my panties and then she steals all his clothes and just leaves chandlery in there wearing his panties that's great it's a good episode that's what I mean it's just I guess I didn't know the show was that funny I guess to be honest yeah it's no big bang theory oh thank God it's not a Big Bang Theory I watched two other things this week worth mentioning um number one Castle Rock have you seen this good yeah Castle Rock's good it's very good and actually I don't know why I hadn't watched it before other than I think I thought it was going to be goofier I think it was I thought it was going to be more like Buffy Charmed not that I don't like those but just that's what I thought this was and I was like oh this is this is good just season one you're
in yeah halfway through yeah got Lizzy Kaplan in it and I quite like her season two has got Lizzy Kaplan in it keep and continue into that because it's also [ __ ] Excell okay yeah yeah no I'm just I'm where I'm at now you've got a sar's guardi in a hole and it's very interesting it's very good yeah good show so that's that's excellent and it's good to watch this after changeling because obviously they're both kind of in the horror genre but this is much more fun to watch than the changeling there was one other thing that I watched this week that was surprisingly good uh and that is Masters of the Universe Revelation which is the Kevin Smith written is this the second one or the first one the first one because I didn't watch it oh is this the one mad about
yes and I tell you I think I know why so this is a direct carryon from the 1985 show right toys yeah and it ignores every other iteration of He-Man that's ever come since and Carries On directly not even that but you know there was a 1992 version and the 2003 version it this just carries on in the first scene of the first episode He-Man and Skeletor finally just fight mano a mano in Castle Grace scull right yeah and they both die yeah they're both killed okay and that's why I think people got upset with he-man's not in it right skeletors not in it they're dead and um then the everything
goes to [ __ ] right so man at Arms has to come back to the king and queen and tell them that he- Man's dead and they're like oh my God that's awful anyway where's my son and and and and manat arms has to be like listen um He-Man is your son and they're like and you knew this the whole time and you didn't tell us that you were taking our son into all these dangerous situations you're [ __ ] fired and so everything goes to [ __ ] right so tea is out on her own as a rogue mercenary all of skeletor's old followers because it was so the magic was what destroyed snake uh Castle Grace skull and what killed um he es Skeletor so they're fully against magic now they hate magic and they've
formed this cult this religion that worships machine technology and so they're building all these things but it it is it is it is the epitome of like sci-fi sword and sorcery it feels like the old con novel it's [ __ ] great huh does He-Man come back he hasn't yet I'm about four episodes in so he might come back I'm sure he does but he's so far he's just not in it tea is one of the main characters she's voiced by the way Sarah Michelle Geller right does her voice how am I not watching this it is excellent I know he's just come out and said like season two's about to come out so this one's called Revelation and the next one's called Revolution H okay all I got I got to
watch this that sounds [ __ ] awesome and the best thing Matt I hope you have this sorry should I watch the last episode of 85 I don't know that that's necessarily necessary on in the end he turns to the camera and goes what did we learn this time that if you're going to cross the street you have to go to the crossing you can't just cross wherever you want um but Harper happily sat and watched it too because it's all just colorful and stuff so watching Land Before Time now at somehow she's [ __ ] obsessed with Dinosaurs yeah and somehow The Land Before Time came on on like YouTube or something after like a clip of because
it was a TV series you there's 14 movies I knew there was a lot I didn't know 14 there's 14 of them I think I've only seen the first two but anyway she calls it the scary dinos because it is because I guess to her it's like compar serious she watches Dino Ranch which is like like a goofy 3D animated thing whereas this is very serious yeah so she calls it the scary dinos there's also one called gigantosaurus on um Netflix which is also very fun okay all right with kid kid dinosaurs that like get up to stuff all right yeah yeah we'll try that she [ __ ] obsessed with Dinosaurs I don't know and there was an Instagram post going around that said um kids that are interested in dinosaurs are smart because you know they they were interested in paleontology and this and
she doesn't know anything about that stuff yeah off she just thinks they're cool looking I think there's a part of Developmental yeah because I think they I think there's just when you learn that there used to be [ __ ] dragons like that's just [ __ ] great she doesn't even know that they're real it's just a [ __ ] cartoon like like I like I agree with you maybe eventually she'll be like I'll be like oh you know dinosaurs actually existed then and that'll blow her mind has no concept of that at the moment Fun For All She Knows unicorns exist also and mermaids exactly yeah her her stuffed dragon that she loves so much is real like it's not yeah yeah Instagram thing yeah something about dinosaurs I think all kids just love it at at a certain stage get phase I mean
maybe there's more to it but I I'm I'm not convinced does Len Before Time hold up have you watched that first movie where the [ __ ] they get separated from their parents it's slow compared to what she's used to a lot of old TV shows and movies and stuff are slow compared to like this kind of hyp because she's watching puppy dog Pals it's like it's just like [ __ ] constant like yeah yeah exactly so the old stuff doesn't hold her attention not as kinetic even she got super interested the night before Christmas I think I told you this but it's like she gets bored it's slow yeah yeah yeah it's it's the old school the borderline of that I think is the modern Disney ones so Harper is now obsessed with frozen which I think is also just another thing all little girls
get obsessed with at a certain point Frozen's pretty good but she will sit and watch the whole movie Jonathan gr mat yeah yeah no no no I know it's and he's great he's very funny um but yeah she'll she'll now sit and watch watch all of Frozen Frozen 2 I actually think is better than Frozen one better story and better songs it's it's just an improvement yeah hav't need to see Frozen oh sure yeah no it's a pretty good one Tangled better I I really like Tangled Tangled the Rapunzel Disney's Rapunzel yeah very good we put we watched i' never seen um it's the frog one the frog the frog yeah with the [ __ ] Voodoo guy set in Louisiana it's great I [ __ ] haven't seen this I'm G look I think there's a a whole chunk of
Disney movies that we were too old to watch as kids but too young to watch as adults yeah I think it's prin the Frog we got this this uh like Louisiana like theme and it's like there's like a steamboat and it's like like Voodoo guys the bad guy it's like that sounds awesome reminds me of Gabriel Knight it's [ __ ] cool yeah right I haven't seen that and I also haven't seen Hercules or Tarzan which I think all came out around the same time yeah good point yeah we're in that weird age we're too old or Too Young like it's that happen but now that I say that I'd watch a Hercules I'd watch a Tarzan sure I know I would watch Hy Le returns no you wouldn't you absolutely [Laughter] woulds I love that movie I love that
movie time too anybody outside of Australia in the 90s know what probably not D it it's a good movie up until the ending it's the people from Acropolis now I don't remember being to the end that that that made it fall apart what happened at the end well remember there's that whole plot where he's that guy's trying to make the movie cinema and at the end they have like a fight at the ends oh do they yeah yeah that's the part that takes out like the actual just dubbing in movie I'll be honest I forgot this even existed until you brought it up just now I kind of do want to watch it again I remember that because for some reason when I when I was back in Sydney there were there was at the N More theater was like WG boy seven or something there's a new one now
Matt Matt yeah there's a new one out right now and I was like oh my God they're still doing that are we not we're not they're not not allowed to do that anymore because that seems fairly offensive it's their own culture they can say what they want right but that got me interested I was like I remember a now what is Acropolis now and I looked it up and I was like yes even that is like I feel like just laying into stereotypes I mean you'd never they' never make that show today but um but then that got me thinking about that and then like Hercules returns as the same people right it's like them dubbing over an old Greek myth not till you lower your nipples [ __ ] bronze so weird when you first said it Luke I thought you meant Hercules in New
York um Arnold Schwarzenegger's first film where he's credited as Arnold strong and somebody else dubs him over oh wow because he could speak SE that because he couldn't speak English yeah well he could but no one could understand his accent is unwatchable it is unwatchable I got see if I have Hercules returns I want to watch that now we got to talk about we didn't talk about this last week the [ __ ] Mandalorian movie I need to know what you guys think about this I I don't have opinion I'll tell you right now don't have op thought at the moment they're making a movie called The Mandalorian grogou called the Mandalorian and grou John fao's directing it do we even give a [ __ ] at this point I certainly don't I didn't even watch series 3 yeah is it r

that he was like I'm out of this I think I think it became more apparent that he was more so just doing the voice than the actual AC because it's Shan Wayne son that's in the suit yeah he's he was never on set yeah like uh what's uh Ron Howard's daughter Bryce Dallas Howard is that the director I don't know her I don't know that sexy woman's name Dan that beautiful volumous red um when uh cuz she was like they were like oh what was like working with ped pasc say never met him never met him yeah I think they I think they came out and he finally admitted that yeah I'm not there it's me for a couple scenes and I do the voice yeah I'm just the face in those two scenes and the voice over yeah yeah good
so he's okay is Gro even in this movie use the Pu at your cowards trust me's better be in this movie I I'm disappointed look maybe it didn't change maybe I changed I don't know but I loved that first season of Mandalorian I loved everything about it yeah look I think Boba Fett took it off the rails a bit yeah I really do and they need to connect it all and Boba Fett was awful like just mhm it was everything I don't want Star Wars to be and I don't even know how to like I will watch any of the prequels again before I would watch one episode of of book of Boba Fett do you want to see Boba Fett riding a rankor no I don't don't give a
[ __ ] over the the Speeder Bike mod Chase it's just but but that like that's just that was just dumb anyway like in any movie that would be dumb but like did things in it where it's like oh he goes back and he just blows up the S like no like what yeah like you just don't get it I suppose or or we're just completely on a different level I think we are but but that's why I think don't go back to Boba Fett because I don't think they are I think they learned well no no I but I mean maybe this is retroactively telling them not to make the show they made but like Boba fed was accidentally the most interesting character in the original trilogy yes
like by complete accident like yeah he barely had any lines he had hardly anything to do and yet we loved him I bet George Lucas yes and so he leaned way too much into the backstory of jeno Fett with the prequels and then they leaned way too much into Boba Fett with the the cartoons and then this I don't know who this is for but they have made another Andor yes yeah yeah they just well almost and I I honestly thought we weren't gonna see another yeah worried about it I knew we were ah yeah but they were like because of Co they shut it down and everything I was worried worried two make they're trying to make Star Wars for everyone and I think they are trying to make
different Star Wars for every that's fine so call this adult Star Wars and and I'll just keep watching this stuff we're going to get we're going to get feedback I watched that movie and I thought it was quite good it was made by people who love Star Wars which movie Star Wars porno no well the other thing I was gonna say is too that sorry with the Mandalorian and Boba Fett grou it's [ __ ] wild to me that half of Boba Fett was the Mandalorian and if you didn't watch Boba Fett because you thought it was [ __ ] you would you would then watch the Mandalorian Mand going why the [ __ ] is grou back yeah oh even if you do why the [ __ ] is he back don't it makes perfect sense that he was out of the story yeah
do that don't make me have to watch something else don't make me have to watch the shows that I don't enjoy to understand the shows I do enjoy like that's [ __ ] up it does sort of make sense that he doesn't stay with Luke Skywalker yeah I know but like if you're gonna do that right and so don't don't have that be the [ __ ] Arc of the whole second season if you're gonna go back on it yeah and like don't like if you want to do this like go Star we're gonna make different shows with different people don't require me to watch all of them otherwise I'm out like I'll watch Andor because I like it I I thought I like the Mandalorian apparently I don't now because you changed it yeah like yeah look I watch Clone War and I didn't actually aha not
watching ahoka but I could understand where it's targeted to people who grew up watching the Clone Wars except Ray stens is in it and I love him so much and I can't believe he's gone people watch the rebels as well and that it ties directly into that yeah but I I watched a video essay because I can't I just can't stop like trying to convince yourself yeah I'm not going to watch the shows but I'll watch video essays about the shows apparently that that uh even Ahsoka kind of [ __ ] up like those shows because it it just against it too yeah completely undermines the characters in those shows so I it seems like they just don't care that's why I think the the best of the modern Star Wars maybe other than Andor
is Rogue one uh which is Andor adjacent obviously but because a written by John NS who from ilm who worked on other Star Wars movies right it's about Star Wars it's about one tiny thing in Star Wars but with new characters who are only in that story you know like and that's why it works it's because you're not going oh guess what Luke skwalker did on this other one day why the Mandalorian worked at the start yes yeah it wasn't yeah and it's why like remember even Star Wars Battlefront 2 when that game came out I was looking forward to that game because this is going to be a game about a group of Stormtroopers that after destru second death H they went on
to sort of move on and then it became in and now they're gonna fight with Lando now they're gonna fight with Princess Leia and it's like no just St it they don't have to be in it yeah I Big Universe seems like sorry listen seems like it's Fon the one thing you've asked not to do anymore I know I know it seems like as soon as they bring Dave filon and he's like all right we got to link all this stuff up like no you don't have to you could have you can link it up by having something in the background a news broadcast happening that I mean do that it's not his fault George started doing that in the 90s and 2000s because one or maybe two yeah there was there was a couple of instances of that

because it meant they could make it cheaper apparently it was 60 bucks instead of 70 bucks in the US because right thank you and that ties into this article about uh ubis who this week uh someone like a who was it from someone actually from Ubisoft talking about Ubisoft plus said getry sorry sorry it's Ubisoft Ubisoft fine it's Ubisoft you be soft you be soft because you're not going to be hard about the fact that you're not owning any of these games anymore and basically just accept it they are trying to get people used to the idea of not owning things owning games particular and it's like did you have to say that cuz now I feel really gross about it yeah yeah like I think there's a big difference to
an online component of something disappearing like with an MMO or like with the Assassin's Creed stuff where to go we're now shutting down the multiplayer servers I think that's a lot different to you don't even own the single player comp that's because especially when you combine it with the all wake thing it's like oh it's it's only 60 bucks because actually you're only renting it and it's like well hang on a minute why is it only $10 cheaper to own it like you you've you've you've upset me now like you shouldn't have said you just shouldn't have mentioned it to be honest and then even with the fact like a $ more to get the disc it doesn't actually mean that the game will actually work if you don't have it connected to the internet yeah yeah and
I know these two articles are not not like directly linked but like it's they happen in the same week so I can't help thinking of about it and like yeah I don't know yeah it's I don't like it it reminds me this Cory doctor article where it said um when when buying something doesn't mean owning something piracy no longer means theft right but look I can I can understand I take with that sure no no there's a leap there but I get his point is that if they're like saying we're going to charge you the same but you don't actually I can take it back at any time yeah exactly well then well then if I download it I'm not but just you could you could still choose not to purchase it and not experience it always a choice but we're quibbling over terms here
right because oh no no I'm GNA buy it oh well you yeah you buying it and it's like wellow actually you didn't buy it it's like okay well if quibbling over terms yeah for me for a single player game I should be able to play that once I buy I should be able to play that that's yeah 100% player I can understand that's costing them money still for servers and keeping stuff up and that to get to a point where look this is just we're losing money and no one's using it and people a lot of times will get upset that multiplayer servers are disappearing even though they're not playing it but they get upset that I don't have the option to play it anymore but with a single player you should always have that option to go back and experience that but Ubisoft in
particular they've had issues in the past I think with Assassin's Creed Unity or one of the Assassin's Creeds where they were like we're shutting down the servers which authenticate your permissions to play the game which means you can't play the [ __ ] game that you bought anymore like that's a problem that's not appropriate I paid you for the game I want to go back and play the game yeah there yeah I agree I yeah multiplayer online where they have service but no I should just be able to play the game it's not my fault that you built in authenticators for piracy turn that on then if you're not going to just yeah least one patch to turn that off and fine but this this does seem like they are trying to say no no no you pay just because you're paid for it doesn't
mean you get to keep it forever you will be a you'll pay for it you'll get to play it as long as we feel like letting you play it and and I think they're hoping people will as we have been just kind of go with it well it's weird that they're finally saying this with games because it's something that's been happening like as you know with music when you moved to America and you transferred your library you lost music that you paid for this happened recently on Playstation yeah with a PlayStation network uh God what was the [ __ ] studio if you bought TV shows and movies on your PlayStation you just bought them right like like Luke you buy a lot of stuff on Xbox right yep there was a studio that did not renegotiate with Sony I think it's Discovery could be and
then basically and there was a whole like if you bought Mythbusters in particular if if you bought all seasons of Mythbusters on your PlayStation so you could watch them yep they they went away and they just took them from you even if you even if you had them downloaded it was like no no no they're gone now [ __ ] you like that's like that's not cool like how the [ __ ] does that work yep like whereas and I know like it's not analogist but like if I bought if I bought the DVDs of Mythbusters they're in my house [ __ ] come and get them [ __ ] like you know what I mean it's like I feel like the American no I just feel like a second

alive until and I feel like exactly and I feel like that's that's what they they've accidentally said that they're doing on purpose they've accidentally just popped us into the hot water yeah they've accidentally just said oh by the way we did put you in the hot water you because now I'm not okay with it you shouldn't have said anything at work we been discussing this as well and it's sort of like this is sort of heading the way that the industry is heading with like a billion triing services and like with PlayStation like we're just gonna take stuff this is gonna push people back to piracy again because but and the other problem is I've got this gcloud right that I've been raving about now I'm like oh actually I kind of don't like that aspect of it because
this only works because I'm letting them do this the funny thing is games are still the only thing I buy individual content everything else oh yeah all music now I just have Spotify subscription all TV is just subscription and we are used to things disappearing when you subscribe because you don't feel you have ownership on them like I I remember at a certain point I was like oh I'm G to watch next generation and I know it's on Netflix so I popped it on searched I'm like no it's not there obviously it used to be they've taken it away and I'm disappointed but I don't feel like anything's been stolen from me because I didn't pay for the Next Generation I just paid for Netflix but if you were to pay for it on something if I was to go to the [ __ ] Apple
Store and go purchase each episode that does happen now that now that we've had these these stores long enough that is happening yes and like it's happened like this this MythBusters thing is obviously a big example everyone noticed but it's happened on Apple as well where if the rights ERS don't renew then you don't get to have it anymore I think they need to change the fact where they when you when I go on any of the online stores they need to remove the option of buying and they need to make it clear that I'm not buying it yeah they don't want to do that though no they really don't want to do that no because they do want you to think that you're buying it because when they have rent as well but rent is like you know you've got to start watching it
within hours or [ __ ] and the second you start watching it that's yeah You' got to try and if you watch half of it and go I watch next week not too late you get yeah that chance and you get to watch it once I I yeah I just thought it was ironic that that the I would not have thought about the max pain thing at all not Max pain uh Allan Wake Allan Wake 2 no physical copy fine wouldn't have considered that a problem except this Ubisoft thing also came out in the same week and it made me go oh hang on a minute that sucks because now Alan Wake 2 can be taken away from it it won't but it could by time they do take it away you don't know that it could yeah I I know but by the time they go to this
is one of things when they do take it away I people will be upset but they're not playing it anymore they're upset that it's going away they're not upset that they were in the middle of playing it and it's gone like update I did I found a copy of Super Metroid and I said last week they were too expensive I found one that I was like all right fine I'll buy it they can't take that from me it's in my it's going to be in my house cuz you're out the front with the GED hand exactly like I've got it on my switch I've got it on my switch because I have the um Nintendo subscription that lets me play SNES games but if I don't continue that subscription or if Nintendo one day decides nah we don't want to do that anymore they can take
that away from me but I'll still have my physical cartridge this is actually why I want to get a job that's actually looking at preserving games yeah right like that preservation of video games like build that job May yeah I was about to say it's in CA Luke the the uh the film and TV film and radio archives in cam have a video game Division I looking at second they announced a job there I'm for it because that would something I think i' would be quite good at I'm not sure that means you get to have them though and just play them yeah no but I I I need to test them to make sure game archive and you come you can email Remy and go yeah I love a copy of Max pain to thanks like we give it I have max pain 2 as well that's a

they do it and with that um what's the name of that poet uh Zayn Thomas Zayn and all that stuff you realize that there's a lot there's already a lot of shared Universe in this series anyway yes and it's very interesting now very very apparent it's just yeah they're joining the dots I [ __ ] love it I when I finished this and I like I said I hope it goes on and on I want to go back and play Everything max pain control everything right from the start well as I said max P's coming out soon and how soon I want to know look I'm GNA look up it's getting closer it'll be this year next year at the latest okay try and play The Originals yeah probably not Playstation One um
