in right so you swallowed four I swallowed at least four I Rec think I swallowed my nose Sprint Jesus all right CU I went to sleep with it in I only got it pieced like what two weeks ago woke up and it's gone so you were feeling you to comfort yourself you were sucking your own nose and when you woke up the ring was gone so now I do have a ring in but yeah I don't know it just happens to me somehow I don't think because I did have a lip ring at one point which I'm sure you'll recall I got at pack Jenna likes to bring it up because I wind like a [ __ ] baby the whole time um but I never ate it yeah in my lip yeah no I I fiddle and then I'll just fiddle all the time with touching

yes and so then I'll lose I'll lose an end of it and then I'll just not replace it and then it'll just work its way out and then I'll swallow it and sure yeah I'm shouldn't be trusted with things mhm but you can always recover them right after swall them no I just I just accept that they're gone okay you could but you don't I could I just choose not to that's fair that's if want next time I swallow one I'll let you try and recover it uh you'll have to maybe pop it in the freezer because it might be some time before I'm back down under wink wink but how many think I'd have to stall cuz it might not be the first how many you swallowing I don't know mate however many you lose oh should we mention there's no Dan uh people have probably noticed but

yeah we should say Dan's uh bit under the weather this week so he's not here we're getting better fancy glass and everything yeah got a gimlet this this glass also came out of the freezer oh man so so I just have a little uh what do you call these uh what do you call these [ __ ] things jar Mason jar Mason jar um we have a a friend of the family who keeps all of his pint glasses in the freezer and yeah and then when he comes around you offer him a beer he's like annoyed that we don't do that it's like my freezer's full of food mate I only I have one martini glass that I keep in the freezer bad idea yeah yeah I guess I could do that could sacrifice some freeza space just for one just for

you me and for uh for our friend no no no make him watch you drink from your we'll call him Cobra his nickname is Cobra we'll call him Cobra Cobra yeah no no make him you get your you get offer a be you give him his and then you get yours out of the freezer and just make him watch as you sick that would be very funny that would that would very much annoy him we were just at um there's like a i a lodge up the road from from here ver again and we are members of the of the uh mug Club there now which the be mug Club so I let Jenna and Jordan do the calculations but you pay a upfront fee and then you literally get your own mug like I have a mug there with a number on

it that is mine a big a big Stein okay when you buy a beer and instead of a normal pint glass you it's the same price but you fill they fill your your mug up right so but there was some math involved in determining is this worth it with The Upfront Fen kind of stuff and we figure enough you gonna do it yeah we figure we're up here enough it's fine because it's if you were local it's definitely worth it but if you're up there once three months no unless you're an alcoholic well listeners and viewers of the show will will notice I've been here quite a bit recently so yes because it's nice to go up there in the winter that's right it's nice to come up here in summer it's just nice up here it's quite

nice you been there what last three weeks I have yeah yeah fix my internet in theory looking a lot better yeah I'm not frozen oh yeah sorry about last week did you see the video last week [ __ ] atrocious I really hope it's not like that this week like it doesn't look like that to us but when I when I downloaded it to edit it was awful there were a couple times I saw you go a bit weird but you look absolutely fine this week you look as beautiful as ever oh thank you I am just a bit weird so that might be yeah I think we all are well we've been doing this for a decade but we were just at the lodge right and it also has like a little game room arcade with some okay like it's got cruising USA say and like a like a Pac-Man SL space invader SL you can choose a bunch

of games probably name kind of thing yeah and some claw machines and it's it's got three claw machines and lra [ __ ] loves my daughter is obsess with them and so um we got there and got some drinks and stuff like that and then she goes off into just it's just the next room we kind of see what she's doing but then she comes back and she's got two keys right and I'm like what are those and she's like she's like keys keys for the for the machine and I I was like why do you have them I was like show me so I I'm like take me and so she takes me to like this one of the claw machines in the corner and she like points at it she goes it's the keys and I was like hang on give them to me and I so I like tried them I'm like

these are the keys for the CLW machine why do you have them and then I said to her where did you get these and she goes um and I think at this point she thought she was in trouble so she goes oh from from the kids and I said the kids what kids and she was like uh oh I want mommy and I was like it's all right you're not in trouble but I was like I better take them to hey I've got the keys for the claw machine like yeah so I I took them up to the the bar and I said my daughter has these I don't know why I don't know where she got them from she's not a criminal as far as I'm aware uh and so I gave them to him and then even he was like we don't keep

these there's a company that comes and like looks after the machines and he goes where did she get them from and I was like I don't know she won't tell me because she thinks she's going to get in trouble so yeah odds are they probably just left them in there yeah yeah it's possible I just yeah it's a mystery yeah so anyway we we handed them in and he um he said thanks and took half the toys that were in there I could have but you know it's not me no you took all if she had figured out how to actually open it I'm sure she would have yes so definitely she she wouldn't have be coming back with key she would have be coming back with my arms full of toys she does she tries to grab toys out of there when other kids are using the claw machine and I have to

explain to it no no no that's not how that works it's worth a shot you have to put the money in and then you get the toy if you get one those kids aren't winning it for you no you would like this place because it has games and alcohol yes what more do you need exactly I could get my own jug mug thing yeah you could yeah if you want to drink beer I'm not sure it would be worth your while I don't think it would be i' go there once if you came here we would go there yes at least two or three times yes presumably but uh yeah I don't that's probably still not work out even with what I drink you could just share my mug probably just we'll just get him to put you know like a couple shots of vodka in

there as well I do drink vodka no no no no but when we're sharing a mug oh yeah yeah drinking a gimlet a gimlet yes it's a funny name it is it's basically just gin and lime it sounds good it really is I'm drinking I think this is a Manhattan it's a premixed bullet thing are we allowed to talk about drinking booze on YouTube I don't actually know I wondered about that we not no no God no monetizer might be different I know you're not allowed to swear in the first minute well then where [ __ ] all right so we'll never be monetized no but that's fine we're not here for

the money no no no no not at all um what's been going on this week um have you heard of a new game that's com out called po world I have heard of it um I I know this is what I know about it Pokémon with guns yes I play I played it for about 10 minutes I went this game is not for me oh interesting do you like Pokemon I don't mind Pokemon but it's okay not just like straight Pokemon clone or anything that everyone's claiming it is it's a survival game well oh so you go in and you have to build your base and build your so you have to like hit trees to get wood and pick up rocks to build your workbenches to build the thing like it's also part Survival Game I think you might like it I was

about to say I think I might like this all right yes but I played went it's not for me but people are just going insane about it what is this on it's on PC it's on Xbox it's it's on Xbox y it's on Xbox play I could play it on this this little guy people just going crazy for and everyone's going oh they're G to get sued and all this and I'm no they're not I saw didn't somebody from uh it's not it's not Nintendo it's game freak right make Pokemon didn't somebody from Game Freak say they're flattered or something yeah like it's not like okay Nintendo like the most pokemon most litigious company in the world yeah this game has not been worked on in secret this been open worked for

years and it's still just releasing if they were going to get sued they would have already had that letter gone to them yeah how yeah it's just so weird everyone's just trying to everyone's loving it but then also saying you're gonna get in trouble and it does look a lot like Pokemon doesn't it there are yep the Pokemon company makes an official statement on power world we intend to investigate okay yeah they they've already investig but yeah some there was also another person who tried to come out and go oh they've ripped off the skins and stuff and like all that their meshes are the same and then they came out went no it's not true I just don't like the idea of capturing animals well they're not animals oh I guess I don't know what they are yeah H

but but it's not it's not a Pokemon clone it's not because you have to punch trees you have to punch trees I you do have to cut trees in Pokemon so there are yeah I don't know you have to build your workbench I don't think so no no all right interesting there are similarities but I don't think it's G to get in trouble I might try this yeah you might like is it free yeah yeah huh it's free right oh it's on game they're they're selling it they've already like they've already sold like 5 million copies and it's still the game's not officially released yet right early accessa early access

type of thing but no you you might like it I might like it let's have a look here I had a friend of mine say like Val valerant Val valerant valheim Valerie Valerie bit like that with the building and stuff I just built one thing one thing and went I'm done valheim yeah I don't know because I do sometimes want to play Minecraft again but I'm [ __ ] sick of Minecraft so and I sometimes want to play Pokemon but I'm sick of Pokemon this might be the thing for you this might be perfect all right I'm remotely connecting to my Xbox it's going to pop up in a moment wait is I'm going to give away anything by showing my Xbox home screen anyway I don't think so you might give away your

gamertag Xbox what people know what that is it's the same as everything else [ __ ] it's brain fed same there you go there's my Xbox um and now you should be able to get power world game preview power world install all right it's installing there you go you'll be able to play all right I can turn mcraft back home in Rhode Island is now installing pwell yeah I actually when I was playing I've gone like you and even Dan I think might like it because it's and I saw one of the Pokemon had a chain gun in that picture we can't wait to see what this is like I never got to the point of battling things because I just got to the point of where you have to M to build stuff and I hate building stuff I

hate love okay with mining stuff building stuff not for me we're telling someone about this the other day the best thing about playing uh Survival game with you Luke is that listeners when you play when we played Minecraft and when we played Conan Exiles mhm all Luke would do is collect resources and just put them in the communal chest because you can't be [ __ ] bothered doing anything else so we would come on in Minecraft we would come in and the chest would just be full of stuff and we could just build and Conan Exiles same deal Luke would be asleep Stark naked on the floor going and Exiles and the chest would be full of iron well what are you do nothing I don't know why I don't like building stuff lot effort but mining that's nice

and relaxing you put a podcast on yeah yeah speaking of podcasts Dan's not here but there has been some followup to the JFK podcast uh maybe we should wait for him no it's garbage they they had this episode this week that was like [ __ ] bombshell testimony from some guy and I'm listening to it I'm like I've heard this before and new to them maybe I don't understand how they can have researched this and not heard this story before but also didn't they research a name who did it it's it's one of the one of the Secret Service agents who was there at

the time L literally there and says he found a bullet and then took it put in his pocket and then took to the hospital and put it on the the gurnie with with um Kennedy and I've heard this before it's in I think it's ino's book this is not new information it's not new information but they like they say oh this bombshell it Cracks the Case wide open and I can't tell if they're stupid and they hadn't just had never bothered to read Vincent b o's book which is impossible like they can't did his podcast where they claim they know everything about the [ __ ] JFK assassination and not have read that book or is this a scam like you know what I mean like they pretend it's just drama fake fake drama you know what I mean I don't understand we G talk more

about something like that this episode I can't tell if someone's serious or not well they get a lot of money that podcast has so many ads in it and not only that these follow-up episodes are like 15 minutes long but they still have exactly the same number of [ __ ] ads there's like five minutes of AD five minutes of podcast and then five minutes of [ __ ] ads again that sounds terrible it it's it is it's it's a stupid podcast but you can't stop you just can't no because I have to I have to know I have to know is there's something in here that's interesting there's not there's not no maybe we should do a JFK podcast we get that many ads in it maybe that would be a good way to make money

I'll tell you what something else too this is a kind of a segue not really but it's it's kind of related in in a loose way I have gotten well into something this week and okay you know I was messaging you guys saying I've been listening to the rest is history podcast which is a very good podcast I recommend to everybody very good I went back I listened to all the more recent ones about the Nazis and so I went back in time on the on the feed and I found there there were two episodes on Atlantis okay which I love a good story about Atlantis right so I started listening to it is a story so I'm listening to this podcast and yes they they they it's all it's all very you know grounded and whatnot

talking about things but towards the end they mention Graham Hancock who we've talked about on this show before MH and they mentioned that that he was going to do some debate on Joe Rogan and I was like oh that sounds interesting that sounds very interesting I would like to hear that I did so then I listened to that and I'd never heard I I knew who grahe Hancock was I've never watched his show never read his books never listened to him I just knew about him yeah but when I listened to this episode of brogen I was like oh he's [ __ ] compelling yeah he's very smart and he's very articulate and you can see why people maybe believe because he does this thing where it's almost like the the Achilles heel of skeptical people

where we would be grounded by the fact in a way that he's not right so no matter what you say he'll say [ __ ] anything right and you can't keep up with him and so like he does this thing where and and he constantly says things like he talks about the pyramids at gizer and stuff like that and he's talking to this guy Michael shim who's like the um editor of skeptic skeptical inquir magazine he's a very smart guy very like knowledgeable right but he's grounded in facts right it's just how you know like us right and Hancock's like you know the Pyramids of Giza I mean obviously you've been there right and and shim's like no no I've never been and and then H's like oh interesting you've never been and

it's like hang on that doesn't matter that's not a gotta thing yeah but he treats it like it is and and it and the way like it took me I'm like hang on a minute no no no he's but he he will 100% convince people by doing stuff like that and like when he talks about like uh these ancient sites where he says like oh I think this was X and then you say well there's no evidence that it was this and then and he'll say so do you have evidence that it wasn't yes the [ __ ] driveway for Atlantis and then you say well no and he goes oh interesting you don't have any evidence that's interesting yeah and it's like no no no that's not interesting it's the same sort of argument you have with like saign citizens um Flat Earth the they're not

actually bringing any evidence or anything they're just questioning things yes and then going but we're true we're I'm right and and the problem with it and then so then after that I was like ah I get it he's very interesting like he is very interesting I like listening to him because it ties in it it Taps into something that with that like because I did want to believe all that stuff when I was younger and I mean I don't but to hear him talk about it I'm like I do want to hear more just in case you know what I mean so watch then I watched his Show on Netflix ancient apocalypse and I was and then I I literally found myself watching the episodes and going maybe maybe wait no

no no no no wait I need to I need to cleanse my pallet and then I would go online and be like why is he wrong right okay okay he no he is wrong but then I watch the show and and then and he's like so convincing and it's as a work of fiction like not even fiction like pseudo Fiction it's [ __ ] fascinating like I I loved it I loved the show but you know it's entertainment there are yes people who are of less than average intelligence who for them not even not even not even right that like I don't think you even I think anybody could be convinced by this like he makes a very good case for it because he leaves out a bunch of [ __ ] yes and like there no a lot of people haven't heard heard of

these places these sites that he goes to like um you know gockley and um the one in Indonesia uh gang gang pang I'm gonna pronounce the name wrong yeah but people aren't familiar with them because we're not taught about that stuff because it's it's not super relevant to like day-to-day life and so he can say whatever he wants and leave out whatever he wants and yeah like I said I get to the end of the episode and I'm like maybe and then I go online I'm like oh no okay no he's definitely wrong but like even I said to I texted you guys I was like he makes a good point in that so there are these sites that are built on top of these mountains and then he says oh there's um Chambers using ground penetrating radar they

found these Chambers right but he he doesn't mention that these are volcanes these are extinct volcanoes he does just doesn't mention it right so the the the average audience doesn't get that piece of information which is very important right is very important because that's probably have you know volcanic Chambers in them yes um but then he says why don't archaeologists just look and I was like yeah why don't they because you'd have to destroy it's probably not anything but then I'm like can't we just check in case yeah but but if you go there you don't you have to destroy sort of there to go and check they're not going to do I watched there's there's a YouTube video about this archaeologist and he was like I promise you we would [ __ ] love to right but first of all

nobody is gonna give us money to do that right who is g to pay for that nobody cares right also yes we would have to blow a hole in the side of this ancient Monument to potentially find nothing and we' Destroy we've destroyed this beautiful artifact of a prehistoric mankind to find oh yeah no it was a volcano like we thought yeah yeah so but yeah why don't they why don't they it would it would be nice just to check like I said he no no that's the that's the problem with it is right there's there all these little nuggets of stuff because the places he goes to are real right yes like and the links he formed between things are

tenuous but it's like maybe you say stuff with enough confidence I mean maybe but like we'll never know and so so for listeners who don't know his his thing is he thinks that there was an advanced civilization when he says Advanced this is a thing that people get tripped up on all the time when he says Advanced he means like mentally Advanced right they didn't have like skyscrapers and airplanes and stuff like that they were just like smarter than we give people credit for you know 10,000 years ago and they were wiped out by some Comet strike some of them survived and and scattered around the world and taught our ancient prehistoric

ancestors uh Agriculture and how to build cool [ __ ] like the pyramids and go Beckley Tey and all that kind of stuff but again the problem with that theory is like it's very interesting and it's not it's not impossible we can't prove that it's not true but the problem with it is there's no evidence of these people existing anywhere at all ever so and a comet sh from 10,000 years ago that's not that long and I mean that might that's again it's it's like unfalsifiable that's the problem with it it's like it's like believing in in you know God or or you know if I tell you uh you know prove that prove they weren't ever unicorns you can't can't no it's impossible it's

yeah so well now unicorns are real that's right and so was Atlantis mhm it wasn't just some an allegory that played made up to teach Athenians stop to stop being [ __ ] no real story that he heard about don't to stucked in because I I do know this path no no no I I I'll be honest I'm I really liked the show it was really entertaining but I know it's not real but it it's just still it's very like it's fun you know yes it's fun but that you have to be careful with this doubling stuff like that maybe gateway drug yeah maybe we'll see

if if you know six months from now I'm I'm talking about you know our ancient ancestors you know actually something interesting I learned too right because I was trying to figure out people accuse him of um there not him specifically there are accusations that the belief in Atlantis and all this kind of historical stuff is racist and I was like what is what is that about where that come from it's because historically the idea of Atlantis has always been about how these really smart white people went and taught a bunch of silly you know dark skinned people how to do cool [ __ ] and it was actually I I didn't know this quite quite popular with the

Nazis oh and and and apparently himler was all about Atlantis and literally wanted to go look for it in the North Sea and and then it took Hitler who was Hitler was apparently like dude that's [ __ ] stupid like stop it yeah we'll tell people that because it helps us but like stop it right I didn't know about any of that stuff so anyway that's why people have accused Hancock like I I don't think he is racist or I think he's just a weirdo who likes this stuff oh yeah because the other thing he doesn't mention in the TV show is that he also thinks these people with psychic oh but he doesn't mention any of that because that's that's too much got a bit too far yeah yeah yeah you have to read his books to know about that stuff apparently yeah yeah okay yeah because

that's a big leap yeah anyway it's it's it's a fascinating and very deep rabbit hole that I've got maybe it's pretty good like for entertainment it's it's good like I give him credit he is a really good Storyteller and he's a very good he's very knowledgeable and he's very quick and and like I said in all the interviews I've seen where people try and like question him he's he's very good yeah which is a problem because afterwards you could sit down and go oh yeah that wasn't really quite right but he yeah he's very aggressively knowledgeable yeah I mean it's like someone ask a question he gets stumped he's always there like no what

about this exactly he's always got something else to say and like he'll change the subject in a way where you you like don't quite catch sort of bring that up look a bit silly because when they get like and it's more but it's not responding because they don't know what to say it's how do I respond to something that is so wrong like it's yeah well like I said he does that thing he's like well you know obviously I've climbed the pyramids three times how many times have you been to the pyr oh you haven't been to the pyramids well why are we having this conversation like yeah stuff like that yeah all right anyway loved it all right I might watch thumbs up thumbs up on grahe

Hancock very entertaining no I wish him well I really wish him well and know only for entertainment purposes it's not for no no because [ __ ] let him go at it honestly like at some point this is he's going to run out of [ __ ] so let him go honestly if he wants to spend his money on this stuff fine well he's also making money from it I'm sure he is yeah good point yes here has another documentary I haven't watched yet there's one about I think one about gockley Tey in particular that I haven't watched yet next I am going to keep following out hole okay so what else has been happening this week H the Mac turned 40

which and I I was like oh wait a minute the 1984 ad yeah that is right it doesn't it's I don't know for some reason my head is older I cursed his I cursed his I dropped out am I back yes you're back now yeah but it feels older because I had one when I was a kid and I know I'm old now no internet has dropped out a little bit son of a [ __ ] am I back you're back again why is this happening I'm sorry listeners let me try turn that off wonder if it's a Bluetooth I tried turning it on and off again W that's G to cause even more problems if I do that all right I can Vamp for a bit go

on I can't I really can't I play it's hard when I'm dropping out and Dan's not here because it's like it's all the presses on you I know and I I don't know like do I keep talking or is it going to still pick up what you're saying apparently not if you watched last week's it was [ __ ] atrocious so second you pause I keep going I can do this that's right that's right yeah the Mac is 40 uh I couldn't believe it because I was like it can't I can't be that old but then I did the math and I remember you know the Ridley Scott 1984 TV commercial for when they were going to release the Macintosh I don't know for me for some reason the Mac is old older than me but it's not

okay I mean it's not but two is older than you probably oh that's right that's why I'm getting confused the Macintosh in particular when did the apple two out turn my keyboard off just in apple two came out in 1977 so it's older than us okay is making more sense in my head now yeah did you ever have a Mac like like at school we had them I never owned one myself no I did really Apple Macintosh LC 575 what did you do on it I played Star Wars X-Wing on it oh oh okay so it was it was later did you play Johnny Quest yes yeah but it was quite interesting

playing um x-ing on it cuz you play with arrow keys oh God something quite unique on a Macintosh at that that stage with arrow keys arrow keys are in a straight line yes so that was interesting yeah I bet you couldn't use the Mouse um I was probably the way I had it set up but the mouse wouldn't work for flying I had to fire off that so I had to fly using the keys and move to the m to shoot oh okay that's probably way I set up because I was quite young I used to use the keyboard to play Doom back when I was a kid which I know now seems like a crazy thing to do but uh it was only like fake 3D so I think it worked better well I still remember playing quake in high school a music like computer labs and we play with mouse and

people would come in and play with us and they would still use keys keys and they would destroyed yeah you could just stand up there above them and not yeah no but yeah the max 40 you know Steve Jobs obviously uh gone now but uh I guess he'd be proud and there was a story that came out this week about him that made me laugh where this photographer was paid a lot of money and flown out to take photos of him in a helicopter in uh in Sweden I think and then when they were in the helicopter the photographer got his camera ready to go and Steve said oh I don't think I want any photos taken of me today and the guy said okay uh I've been paid to come in

and Steve was like yeah I don't care I I don't think I want any photos and then the guy's like all right waited a bit and then he got his camera again Steve said I don't want any [ __ ] photos taken not feeling it today gu was like I'm getting paid anyway yeah whatever he was a Steve was a bit like that he just did not care no no definitely not I I don't think I would like Steve Jobs I think if Steve Jobs liked you he'd be great but if you annoyed him he would be a [ __ ] nightmare well I still just remember the story of the first iPod M he's got like smaller and they've G this is as small as we can get it so he picked up the iPod dropped it in fish

remember the um when the iPhone 4 came out and it had the um the metal band around the outside and you could block the antenna by if you were holding it upor like this with you kind of cupping the whole thing it would you'd lose all your reception and at first he he released a statement he was like [ __ ] you you're holding it wrong and and then it was would then forced to release the like bumper case for it to stop people from doing that and he hated that that had to happen had to happen right I can't confirm it but the late Steve Jobs would B his feet in toilet water of the Apple restrooms to distress according to his authorized biography by Walter isacon okay that's funny though I've read that book I don't remember that detail there's a lot of things I'm read

saying that yes this is true okay fine fine did it have to be toilet water did Walter isacson ask I bet he didn't he put his feet in the toilet okay why the toilet though why did he wash and like why isn't Walter isacson asking him these questions all right okay Steve could it have not been you know like a foot Spar yeah just a foot Spar something purpose built a bucket not a [ __ ] toilet why she treating toilet some sometimes to relieve stress yeah reading a lot of stuff that says yes to relieve stress yep do you know what wouldn't relieve stress for me putting noticing that my feet were in the [ __ ]

nicely the story about him um buying a new car every whatever six months like a new Mercedes CN put the plates plate on or yeah yeah there's a grace period where you didn't have to put the plates on so own that amount of money where just don't want a number PL buying a new car like I don't even care about the license ples but it would be nice to have enough money that I could be like well now I care yeah have you seen this so Microsoft is after buying everyone Under the Sun is now firing everyone I did see this that's it's a lot of people they've laid off yeah almost almost 2,000 people right it's a lot yeah and so sort of seems a bit weird well I can also understand it but also seems

weird to me at the same time because they brought all these Studios because they're ramping up and look what we're going to do but then when you buy a lot of these Studios you're going to have a lot of people where you're doubling up on staff yeah so do we know from where are these people I haven't been able to work that out for me in my head it would be a lot of not sort of like deps or anything it' be more sort of H type work and stuff like that because oh okay' already got so you we have a HR department so we don't need you anymore yeah okay okay all right that that's in my head though I don't no but I'm not saying I'm not saying you know that's great and [ __ ] those people but that

does make some sense compared yeah it's sort of what happens like you got your heads and you like HR well you can B it all and then you've got but there's not 2,000 people are in HR like that's it's not 10% of your companies not HR did you just this I put this article in the other week um this is like sort of a segue but we never I don't think we ever talked about this um we' talked about Unity you know the Game Dev the game engine company yes that caus elect Dr a little while ago tried to screw everyone over by charging so in 2021 they purchased weter digital right the the Peter Jackson special effects company that made lot of the Rings and everything like that but when they did it right at the time they

split the company into weter digital and then uh some other company [Music] called uh wther effects right so they gave they they they gave sold to Unity W digital which was all the um kind of uh the the the VFX tools and okay you know Tech stuff but they kept a bunch of other stuff as part of the sweater effects company right Unity bought it didn't do anything with it and then um fired them all which meant because of the Clauses in the contract Peter Jackson just hired them

all back them back and so like basically I'm trying to what's the figure here basically Peter Jackson made this is the [ __ ] figure here it's like billions of dollars $ 1.625 billion Unity paid Peter Jackson 1.625 billion for this company to do nothing and nothing changed for him then fired them all and then he hired them back so he's got what what the [ __ ] one and a half billion for nothing for nothing he literally got a free $ 1.625 billion maybe that's why they're trying to make charge everyone like to pay pay money because I was trying to make that money back because if you're just going to waste money like that like what the

[ __ ] that's so bizarre anyway I just the Microsoft thing reminded me of that like good for Peter why can't someone pay us $1.5 billion or something we'd have to do something of value Luke not not whatever this is maybe grah Hancock will pay us money grahe if you're listening I love you y I know you're on Joe Rogan a lot but if you ever want to come on this podcast as well you're welcome here we'd love to have you I promise not to ask any you know good questions no he wants you to ask good questions he would destroy me exactly and that makes him better yeah he doesn't want someone who agrees with him if you get someone who

did work for um 2K Australia oh really because I were based like near where I am oh right no no no you're right down there yeah yeah okay and I was looking at it and then I didn't and I'm happy I did because like a year later is when they went there's no more 2K Australia yeah yeah it's very Cutthroat it's like the film industry almost where they you you're almost hired for a project and then at the end of the project or maybe even in the middle of the project you might just be out of work yeah well you look at Team Bondi like yeah they made Noir a great game it came out and then they went we don't need te bond anymore yeah yeah well um somebody I

used to work with here uh I'm be careful what I say did recruiting for game development companies and they had high turnover and they would basically hire for projects yeah and then at the end of the project it was kind of up in the air whether you were going to be able to continue on or you know yeah well it is the whole industry is like you're working on a game then you get close to release you ramp up and then release the game and then you got fix some stuff but then that's it that game's out and then you're starting again from scratch and yeah because in theory that team is done now yes like yeah and that's what that's why I don't think I could do it because you've always going to have your resume

up to date and always be ready for what's next they're not all like that that like to be fair it just is quite common to be like that yeah and this this last couple years it has been quite bad has been lay off sort of everywhere yeah yeah I'll just play the other thing I heard that was kind of crazy is the they tie bonuses to Metacritic have you heard about this yes that's [ __ ] wild I think that's um C Project R B big on that I think that's [ __ ] insane because it's like Google reviews you can't trust these people for me it should just be directly related to sales likeable or not even not even just like like milestones in like like development milestones or or whatever you know thinkig what the bonuses were seure

Project Read but I think a lot of people went like yeah we did all this and I brought a house like I'm now yeah right okay well okay maybe it's worth it then but they will yeah look I'm not doing it I'm not doing it either I mean not that I've been offering a job with a game development company but both probably could go get a job at one of them probably yeah yeah but then it's like you know it's turning your hobby into a yeah a job I don't think yeah if I was going to make a game I want to make different my game not someone else's game that's very different to making a game to working in the industry I think like because yeah you're making something that's yours yeah compared to he go and make this

part of this game yeah and luckily I'm too lazy to do that so yes as am I lazy SL busy we'll call it busy I'm too busy watching grah Hancock I I I'm I'm just I'm lazy I'm honest I play games I watch stuff did I mention not about graah Hancock but about when I was listening to the the actual historical stuff on the rest is history y I was surprised by how many things were in Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis the video game I thought they made a lot of that up for the game but it is actually a lot of it is based on like not historical fact but yeah yeah exactly it's made up it's based on the the the Plato's story

that he told and the follow-ups from it it's quite quite interesting including the fact that the Nazis were interested in it right which is obviously a big part of the Indiana Jones thing yeah right that's true I didn't realize that they actually were interested in it so even fact they were going to go there if they won the war Yeah well yeah they were too busy at the time and Hitler was like I'm not not bothering with this [ __ ] but had they W the moment but had they won he might have just let him go at it go do what you got to do he was into all that stuff you like all that weird like C he was the maybe I shouldn't say this he was the Graham Hancock of the 1940s okay we're definitely not getting

grah Han you just that's gone not fine he knows I'm joking he knows I'm joking I'm sure he's got a sense of humor doesn't have a sense of humor we can stick with story around that time or sort of Oppenheimer is now to sweep all the awards yeah probably uh I think it will I don't think it deserves them really I know I know that I'm I I out of the three of us enjoyed it the most for whatever reason I not say I enjoyed it no no no no I know I know but I was I was kind of gushing about it and you guys were kind of like yeah it was fine but also I knew it's going to win it's definitely an Oscar movie and it's going to win lots but

yeah I don't like Oscar movies in generally did you watch parasite did you ever watch that oh God it's very good I remember Donald Trump being upset about it all the more reason to watch it I think he was upset about it because it was a foreign film that one best movie it's like they've already got their own award so why don't you go winning a Korean award [ __ ] off it's a great movie really good movie anyway Oppenheimer also really good movie up for 13 Academy Awards that's quite a lot quite a lot I will be oh I want lud gson to win best picture because I don't know that they're gonna let me vote in any official capacity but I will be supporting

him I don't even know like who else is up for like best movie SN Barbie how Barbie did not get nominated okay so this has been a big news story this week that Barbie sorry particularly Greta Gerwig did not get nominated for best director for Barbie and I am like I why would she be I don't understand I don't understand I know that I'm like I'm like inverse to you guys on this whereas you guys were like bobbie's great oppenheim is fine Barbie was just forgettable I don't understand why people if I have a choice to watch any of this movies again I'm going Barbie I will never ever watch Barbie again I just it was just it was a

nothing it I laughed it was fine Ryan goling was funny in it like it was who understand someone who's going to vote for Oscar movies now I'm I absolutely will be voting for the things they'll let me vote for I'll V vote let a little bit I get a little bit I get a little bit of a say and opheim is gonna be winning but but but like I just don't understand see I think the thing I keep forgetting is the Oscars are not for the people who watch movies the Oscars are for people I mean it's for some people who watch movies just not not the general public oh yeah okay that that yeah okay that's true yeah that's true that's why they're trying to Rice it up now like the the audience pick and stuff like

that because people are starting to get a point what that the Oscars aren't a bigger thing for the general audience I don't feel because the movies that are winning are all good are not the movies that The General audience really so much enjoy sure but like was bobie that good like do you like honestly good this is honest question I'm not being stupid I'm not being factious right do you really think if if it was up for like movie of the year and there was only two choices and it was Barbie and you would say Barbie is the movie of the year for me yes over those two movies but it deserves to be nominated at the very

least if you look at the biggest movies of last year biggest in what sense excite excitement people looking forward to seeing it people enjoying it people talking about it yeah making money like meet a lot sure but that I mean that's not what these are but but yeah yeah yeah yeah oh yeah I get you like by that token by that token Marvel's some of Marvel's stuff should have been movie of the year right like endgame and infinity War like but you gotta look at away but they're not gonna win movie of the year but it's it's yeah but that's the thing like it's like Ant-Man no people spoke about it but people no no no no no no I'm saying that's fine I'm saying stuff like stuff like when when when when end game came out right everybody [ __ ] was

talking about it everybody loved it it was amazing it was fantastic it's not going to win an Academy Award for best picture though I know because it's not about the enjoying the movie yeah yeah okay I think maybe I'm just too like I've been into this stuff for too long but like I get what you mean yeah yeah okay like it's it's yeah as I said so the people who make the movies that's what these awards for yeah you're right you're right that's why I saying when people were like oh why isn't Barbie nominated I'm like why would it be but then I get what you're saying like like it made buddy people loved it people went and saw it people

were talking about it like it's yeah yeah why wouldn't it be nominated because because it was just a like a fine funny movie like it's not Oscar bait there's a particular type of movie that we why wasn't the Wedding Singer up for best picture because it's like it I don't know I put them in the same category like it's just a funny movie it's why comedies don't win yeah yeah if it's funny not F Oscars how many practical atomic expion are in Barbie I still say that explosion was pretty crap it could have done with some added effects really I was disappointed by it I really was okay they spoke about like it's all practical effects got to

be made I went no yeah I think they made too much of a fuss about it they didn't say it's all practical effects and it's going to be amazing they just said it's it was filmed practically yeah and then refused to explain how which annoyed me at the time because I was like what does that mean and it turns out did you drop it at atomic bomb yeah obviously they didn't and then when I saw it I was like fine yeah it's good I didn't notice it could have been digital it could have been not digital it's quite it's an achievement I guess to have not done it digitally yeah but also have it be the same as it as if it was that but it's like yeah I don't know what the point of it could have

just yeah yeah didn't blow me away wink wink tell you who it did blow away the Oscars the people who vote for the Oscars I was gonna say the Japanese but twice yeah um yeah they're playing that in cuz I I believe theyig weren't gonna play it there and then they saw and went hold on this isn't glorifying well yeah they just understandably wanted to make sure it didn't you know yeah I mean it doesn't talk about the Japanese at all to be honest other than to say we Dropped a Bomb of them and felt bad about it yes so yeah yeah yeah but I can understand why they were wanting to

make sure because oh yeah definitely it's an American movie and America's quite often yay America yeah yes and they might have made Japan look bad yes I mean they were bad in World War II but you know you know what I mean yeah but no that I think they did it quite well they don't want to talk about that they're got to win they're got to win an Oscar for it yes what's It Up Japan is going to win an Academy Award for best actor supporting actor in World War II the best actor was the bomb best
