I was excited for last week's podcast when I saw oh you were yep the thumbnail saw my face up there I was a buff guy for a change and then I realized he put me a bad guy TR to get to be a buff guy but he's evil well I mean apparently according to the internet most people who watch the boys don't know that homelander is evil even though the first season he murders many people including an entire Plane full of people and then his own mentor what are you guys talking about welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things

nerdy cuz I was talking to someone work about this week and isn't it like there's the superheroes and then there's the bad guys but they're both just bad they're just perceiv differently there aren't really superheroes yeah and there aren't really bad guys either no everyone's just a [ __ ] Whit yeah oh what I say superheroes i' like they have powers I mean no everyone with powers is a is a [ __ ] in yeah yeah that's what I mean like yeah not calling them Heroes they're just the people with powers the good guys are normal people who are also [ __ ] yeah yeah I was about to say but they're not good they're fighting the evil people but they're not good they're not good people they are stupid so last week we're talking about the

boys season 4 is on right now it reminded me that I hadn't seen past season one so I watched a recap of season one and then I started on season two [ __ ] me I'd forgotten how good this show is it's so good it's very good and I think I said last week that what I didn't like about it was that I felt it was trying too hard to shock me y um but I can confirm now it's it's shocked me it is repeatedly shocked me this like so in season one there's no spoilers but in season one a dolphin gets hurt right yes and I guess the Riders were like how do we up the ante for season two the whale they crash a speedboat into a whale and then one of the main guys is sitting inside the whale covered in whale guts just going is this my [ __ ]

life like it's so good yeah um my favorite thing that's happened so far and I'm not quite at the end yet but my favorite thing that's happened is the Luke you haven't seen it right no so there's a no no no it's no spoilers it's just the the setup is that the superheroes work for a company that promotes superheroes it's like an agency like a talent agency but they don't just do superheroing they also do soda sponsorships corporate events and movies about themselves where they act as themselves and so you see them making these fake movies where they play fake versions of themselves it's very funny but at one point they're doing this it's it's the Avengers clearly right and at one point what seems like a throwaway

line homelander goes wow getting Joss to do a rewrite of this was the best idea ever right but then in the next scene Greg Greg grundberg is that his name the guy who's in all of Jos weeden's shows and movies is in the movie and they don't mention it's oh Jos must have but it's just the details are so funny yeah very you're watching season 4 and evidently can you tell us are you liking it cuz evidently people are not I have been liking it I do know I mean some of the complaints I get um I know they've introduced some new characters that weren't in the comics and things oh I haven't read the comics so I don't that doesn't bother they've already done that there's already characters that are very

different from the comics well they gender swapped a couple of them didn't they oh have they again turning it off then I'm [ __ ] turning it off don't know also I don't care if they do that yeah you know who they gender swapped Starbuck and you know what she was the best [ __ ] character in BSG so [ __ ] you anyone who says otherwise why are you attacking me I agree she was great I'm talking to her listeners I'm grateful listeners do you know who they gender swapped I'm I'm just curious oh I I don't know't that many female characters I don't think would have worked not as female characters I mean off the top of my head I'm not I guess I tell you I haven't seen much criticism of season 4 because anytime I see the boys online at the

moment I'm tuning out because I don't want spoilers for season 2 and subsequently season 3 there's thing that I know yes yeah okay yes it is there's one thing I know that people are very very angry about in season 4 and that's that one of the actresses isn't as pretty as she was in season 1 yeah they're [ __ ] furious they are Furious it it's weird right because first of all no regardless of what happened it's none of your [ __ ] business but it's so Aaron morotti who plays Starlight in the photos that they use as examples does look quite different and they they say she's had so much plastic surgery I can't jerk off to this anymore yeah and yeah and she I mean I am I I and I am I love a challenge but I'm angry about it I'm using my tears as

lubricant she insists she hasn't I mean I don't give a [ __ ] right who cares mate women age I'm sorry what they do and a lot of them lose weight as they age and their faces change if you look at Jennifer Connelly age 20 and you look at her age 45 yeah she she looks different you know she's got gaunt cheeks now when she used to be all plump and cute who are complaining about it maybe look in the mirror but the other thing about season 4 you know mm right the character mm mother's milk correct it's my favorite character say anything bad about him when season 4 started this is not in any way a spoiler I was very confused at the start of season 4 because I thought at first I thought oh they recast him and then I got confused cuz I couldn't remember exactly what had

happened at the end of season 3 and I was like oh no wait no is this a different character h no the guy just lost a lot of weight which is odd cuz he wasn't like fat or you know overweight or anything before but I think he's he's very buff but I think he's one of those dudes that's got just as much body fat as muscle like he's like a linebacker so could you could starve yourself and then get really just really cess and he's shaved and he he does it's confused everybody it he looks like a different human being it's very very unusual I mean don't worry listeners I will not lose weight and confuse you or shave his beard or shave my beard unless it's fors very good cause m but yeah so they're mad about those two

things which are stupid reasons to be mad there's one complaint that I'm like well that's kind of a thing in the show is that why do why does everybody who's kind of a bad guy have to turn out to be some kind of sexual deviant and get caught doing something [ __ ] outrageously sexual and I'm like well that's kind of a thing in the show now cuz yeah and life as well cuz don't forget these are Hollywood celebrities and that's kind of what they do right so that that I get because there there's a quite there an outrageous thing that happens and like yeah yeah I mean so far in every season there's been an outrageous thing that's happened that's what I mean it's not like this is and everyone's like why do they have to keep doing that it's because that's what

the [ __ ] show [ __ ] turn it off if you don't like it mate well they are and the other thing is and they're that's the thing they're still watching it there is a homosexual kiss oh that I saw somebody post I thought this was a joke but apparently it's not a joke cuz I mean I guess I've watched shows that where by boys kiss and I don't care right I don't understand it's not like that's a recent thing like what's the a boy kissing a boy yeah when I was when I was very young in penth I I would have but like it didn't bother me like you know what I mean I just yeah yeah we called them gay and then they went yeah we are gay and we went oh yeah oh okay I did like that when you did say that there was the kiss and your camera just

started to zoom in on you for a little bit like dramatic effect it knows it knows um but people are I I saw I thought I I thought it was a joke but apparently it was not a joke people were being dead serious I saw a tweet that had a screen crap of of the two guys kissing and it said this show has become unwatchable like [ __ ] hell get over is it characters who were already in the show or is it new characters okay yeah but it's not I I mean yeah I mean perfectly reasonable perfectly reasonable so this who gives a [ __ ] yeah I know there's been I mean there's been a lot of uncons sex in the show right so finally two consenting adults decide to embrace and you're like wrong gender one of them what they both got dicks so no see this

is the problem is people think they're just trying to force it in force the gender down throat whereas if you just say e it doesn't matter anymore then it's fine like it's just got to it's just people are just it's I just don't there lit there's literally I I'm I'm I told you about a scenario that occurs in I think season three of the show between two men right that was fine you mean the the dick incident why is that okay but you can't watch two funny seems like a fair bit you know I just don't understand look and I guarant a lot of people are complain about the two men kissing if it was two women be fine that's what makes me think these people aren't serious mate there's been a same-sex female couple since season 1 oh of course yeah you're right yeah

yeah nobody noticed it yeah but that think that way you're saying like that makes you think that it's not sort of they are serious cuz two girls is fine two men is are bad maybe in their mind that's how it works but there's been there been two men in the show before like this is a the show has that yeah we were making fun of them queers yeah I don't know that's going to be a sound bite hey speaking of sound bites I want to just segue for a really quick second you know how we always talk about how we see headlines it says um Sam Neil wants to be in Star Wars and we always go does he or did some interviewer just say would you ever been in Star Wars and he's like well I mean I've never thought about it but sure if they ask and they're like Sam Neil wants

to be in Star Wars yeah I saw a great shutdown of that and I only watched this clip because I don't want you guys to think I just sit here watching The View right but I was watching The View know mat [ __ ] disgusting human Matthew mccon who I like very much was onh and he was on because he's promoting this charity that he set up because he wants to basically make sure no kids can touch a gun in Texas specifically where he's from right interesting too much gun violence in kids have way too much chances to grab a gun right so he's on there talking about that um and he's been very serious right he's not trying to be Charming he's just saying [ __ ] gun violence school shootings it's got to stop yeah and then one of the women on the panel

people complain that the the um politics is more overt this season okay again I feel like it was pretty straightforwardly making fun of right-wing fascists is it maybe just because it's coming up he has the American flag as a cape that's what I mean I feel like it's always been a and there's a bit in season two where he goes close to home this time he murders this dude in front of like his family this Middle Eastern dude and someone films it on their phone and he's like how was I meant to know someone in the Middle East had a [ __ ] cell phone like he's a [ __ ] fascist Anthony star the guy plays homelander he's a kiwi right

yeah what and and he is he's amazing nothing like that character no like you watchv the two leads are both kiwis but the other guy is doing the worst Cockney accent I've ever heard right he's a great actor and I love watching his performance but he he doesn't do a good but if you didn't know you would not know that uh homelander is not American no he's so and also again his performance it's it's like you're just watching a different person you watch like Anthony star in he was on like a hot ones thing with what's he Chase whatever the guy plays the Deep who's my favorite character the Deep he's [ __ ] great so funny um I used to watch him in this show called uh oh [ __ ] he was in this New Zealand comedy show can't remember the

name but he just yeah like I said you watch him an interview and then you look at Homeland and you're like that's not the same guy like but that's a good actor that's an actor yeah yeah apart from the people where you go Will Smith it's just Will Smith in a movie yeah like Tom Cruz yeah like he's just in that movie as I'm currently halfway through uh Ethan Hawks novel a fictitious book that he wrote about a disgraced actor trying to get a comeback after losing his Celebrity Wife and being arrange from his kids and and I'm like okay so write what you know y got some news about riters or G the only thing I think with the people thinking it's about getting too political now is I think is's right it's hitting too close to home now with the

elections coming up people I think are starting to and there's there's a character in the season who is based on like B based on I think I saw someone say marjerie Taylor green who's like a politician but this is more of like an influencer she's like a this is character is like a right-wing influencer and I think there's just so many of that so much of that going on these days maybe right you know people have people are relating to it more than maybe they used to and it's annoying them yeah I mean I feel like it's always been like that but then yeah art always imitates life but I think people are just now starting to realize that it's cuz people are stupid I don't believe any homelander was not was a good guy it's it's not possible I struggle with

that what about the final episode of season 1 where he's holding that woman's head and then just burns her face off with his laser vision yeah yeah there were some redeeming moments you're right yep but then [ __ ] close your ears L if you don't want to hear but he [ __ ] he he gets this shape-shifting superhero to make himself look like her so that he can have sex with her but occasionally it just it goes away and it just becomes this this fat bald man again and he's like change back change back it's very funny great show here's what I don't okay with that right-wing people right yeah [ __ ] yeah that's what I mean it's just I don't I don't understand I get if you are right-wing because you're a fascist I actually understand that because

sometimes I look at people and I'm like you are so [ __ ] stupid you cannot be trusted to make your own decisions you need fascism to put you in your place and tell you what is and isn't okay to do I'm not saying that's what I think you understand you don't understand that point of view in the same way that I understand the farle point of view of we should all be [ __ ] throwing flowers at each other and and everyone get the same like I understand that too I don't think that works either right I don't think either works but whatever but what I don't get and I don't understand is when the right became like paranoid about like Bigfoot and [ __ ] like when did that get associated with one another like it you can't just be a

they're even more Angry so much drama so this week's drama yeah is um I guess it's a spoiler it's not really a I don't know if it's a spoiler cuz I haven't watched the show [ __ ] it I'm spoiling the [ __ ] out of this show this this week's anger is aimed at kiad Mundy no wait let me take that again you didn't spoil it Dave filon spoiled it um Kady Mundy is a Jedi this IAL claims is um from the prequels it claims that he was nobody knew or cared who he was until now which is not I mean that's not true like I knew who he was and you could play as him in the Phantom men Star Lego so you know he was he was known right he's been in he's been

plenty of stuff so I think they're underplaying his significance a little bit but people are angry in particular because um because already it's like paper cuts on top of paper cuts I suppose so they already think Disney don't give a [ __ ] about Star Wars uh they already think don't give a [ __ ] at worst are trying to sabotage it right and and then they already are annoyed at things in the the Acolyte and then now this happens kot M's in it he is not supposed to have been born yet at the time this show takes place in fact we said last week oh thank God no known can be in this with the exception maybe of Yoda and not only is he in it he just looks slightly younger so it's just uh I mean why do you have to have a

character from I thought the whole idea of going back was you can tell your if you're saying kiot Mundi is a throwaway character that nobody knows what's the point in making that character him right clearly you chose him because you do know that people know who he is well well the thing is that people are saying that like did they choose him on purpose because there's a second reason why having him in it is annoying to people because in The Phantom Menace the film that he first appeared in he says when when they're talking about the fact that Qui-Gon fights Darth Maul and he says I think that guy's a Sith to the Jedi Council and Kad Mundi says a Sith Sith have been extinct from Millennia right except now he's appearing in this show that in

theory has it don't know people say but it's still like I mean come on you picked him like did did they do this on purpose to piss everybody off reason Stoke this kind of controversy I I don't think it is I think you're going to find that their whole thing is going to be you're not fighting the Sith they're just bad forth users cuz there remember the whole in the show they know who he is they know what he said in that movie no no no what I'm saying is in the show spoilers the whole idea about the Acolyte and the the evil bad guys is they're not using lightsabers so there's no red lightsaber the whole thing is killing without weapons but the bad guy is does have a lightsaber he has a red lightsaber and he has a mask on and he

looks exactly like he looks like [ __ ] kylo Ren with teeth on his mask I haven't seen that CU that's probably in season episode 4 up to season you don't see who the bad guy is all right yeah so look I don't think it's a case of them trying to sabotage it themselves I think it's a case not sabotage it I think but but like confused people are saying that provoke there is provoke a reaction right because you're right it may turn out that like at the end of this show there's only four episodes in assume there's like eight by the end of it maybe we'll be like oh okay it didn't really matter but they still must have known this was going to be look with the like hopefully with the there's been no Jedis from L hopefully that's they have to know that with the age thing I think

that's a confusion with them getting rid of can like Canon is now very confused and but can is supposed to be anything that was in a movie no no he was in the movie but his the age of his species didn't get mention movie yeah he now in the legends true true true actually yeah you're right we can't take that as right but it is still known right right they know and they have they have access to look up how old is he supposed to be well the thing is in the movies how is he supposed to be doesn't matter no no no I'm not saying about 40 I'm saying that they can they can say what you're saying yes but they they know right like like you know you're saying yeah yeah but they never said in the movie yeah yeah but you know it was said elsewhere

right so do they but but said elsewhere isn't a thing anymore doesn't matter they still know it's on Wikipedia in fact one of the veral things that happened this week was that immediately after the show aired people started having a fit about it online Wikipedia changed the article about kiot Mundy to say uh his actual birthday that they used to have in there the the the sorry the previous actual birthday was removed and replaced with some time before this yes and and um now it's a whole big thing because apparently the people at Wikipedia started getting death threats which is why um and then they started saying this guy I forget his real name Star Wars Theory on YouTube he's like one of the biggest Star Wars channels they said on Twitter

uh he told his fans to to send us death threats and then he made a video earlier today saying I [ __ ] never said that in fact I've always told people to be respectful if you say anything like that again I will sue you so now it's like this whole thing is just like gotten way out of hand so I sorry for the people with Wikipedia cuz they've got such a hard thing because there's so much that I agree it is not their what they would have had up there would have been would have been what annuals when they come out and you go oh okay it says here that such suching to document this the the story of Star Wars as it is known in Canon it's not their fault but again I just think they but the fan F knew how old kot Mundy was supposed to be they Fon fony must have

also known that and if he didn't know that he could have easily found out and it's just strange to me that they chose him in particular it does seem a bit suspicious for for me it's sort of this is why I struggled to be a Star Wars fan now is because I grew up reading the extended universe and then that was wiped away and now I don't know what's real or what's not and I think the problem is is when there was that extended Universe there were meetings and everyone knew what was happening all the authors knew this person's doing this this person's doing that since disy taken over I think they've lost that knowledge that I'm not talking looking up stuff but that people knowledge that they had of people knowing this is here

were kids though yeah I think I I I I got to watch this show I I will watch it I feel like I silly AR I'm I'm not argu I to watch this even less than I wanted to watch SOA I didn't want to watch that the reason I want to watch it is because yes I'm hearing these things and I go that does seem a bit [ __ ] but like and then people are also saying the show is just in general [ __ ] as well but like is it like I've liked stuff that other people didn't like like maybe this stuff will annoy me but maybe I'll still like the show I don't know as I said please do because you might be the only person without an agenda watching this show right now so I would be very interested if you come in next week and go actually guys I wrote it the acting's good the

writing's good you just you have to kind of let go of what you thought you knew about some things but actually it's all in all I didn't like the over I don't think you will these people complaining the particular people that I've I've seen like this Star Wars 3 guy they they liked Ahsoka they liked um the obi-1 show and I didn't like those no I didn't like Oban but I think like some of the people have been complaining like there there are lesbians in it they're a coven of witches like what are you complaining about that's I don't care about that scissor each other that's just a fact that's fact what I the only reason that that's that would bother me is if it just is there for no reason and like you know like that weird out ofpl kiss in Rise of Skywalker right that didn't

bother me but I can see how I actually didn't even notice that until everyone started telling me I'm like did I see that I don't know but but like I can see how that You' go yeah maybe I guess that is a little odd I mean there's a scene in the second one where a brother and sister kiss that do bother anyone but no look look I you from what I I'm not saying it's a great show but from what people complaining about I'm not seeing what they're complaining about yeah okay all right look I watched the Mandalorian when it came out and I went oh Star Wars can still be relevant it can still be for adults it can still be what I want it to be and then what they do even it changed into the Dave filon show and then I watched book of Boba Fett and I

forced myself to watch every episode of that even though I hated it because I thought no this is Star Wars and I have to have seen all the Star Wars and I I I I've just since given myself permission to just like the ones I like and not like the lally the show that made me go you you won't like all this yeah you have to be selective I still remember the chase I that really really really slow chase scene what Chase oh yeah I do remember that Robert Rodriguez directed that what the [ __ ] I love Robert rguez no he hasn't made a good movie for decades and always I like the leader oh yeah he did a leader battle angel I liked that y that was fine we're getting a sequel

that's fair oh we are hopefully we are do I'll make it put me in charge I'll fix it uh I don't even know if I want it fixed now I know how to fix I want it to go away I'll make some of it go away I think the problem is that they're going to make lots of it and it's just not going to be for everybody it's it can't be it's not possible these days fine that's that's fine just make it clear what is and what isn't cuz even Andor right I thought I think Andor is the best Star Wars thing in a long time we've talked about thisum right and I get it and I don't I don't personally think Andor is is I wouldn't describe it as you know just [ __ ] bunch of white people right you know like you know the the the The Stereotype that that people

would say the souer the lead Ro starters like I I think rogam had like diverse cast it had interesting stories it wasn't just about you know like you know Luke Skywalker the res yeah it wasn't I don't think it was that maybe I'm wrong uh I just think it was a good show it was well written and it had some of these themes that we're talking about that are bothering people but they were just part of the story it's because they weren't they weren't the story they were just a thing in the story I think that's where yeah and there was some dumb bits in it and some cheesy bits too like it wasn't all just like wall toall dark serious stuff there was that mechanic woman that's you know slipped with warmers or whatever but um

he was you know cracking jokes left right and Center was that Andor was that in Mandan was oh was that Mandalorian she mechan Mandan mix oh was that Mandalorian yeah that's when that started to get [ __ ] yeah and I didn't even see all of the third season because I watched the first episode of the third season and I went oh you've left me behind this is not [ __ ] uh Vera hog going use the puppet you coward yeah I VT when I saw it I got his book um I was at the airport and I uh I saw this oh and I was

like well I've got to read that so this is about actually there's a setup there's a the first chapter is a preface Matt your your camera is your camera still working oh boy yeah that looks odd doesn't it no that's just how I look now you're whistling right now yeah um I'll tell the story while well while that the prologue in this is ver hog went to Japan was just hanging out there and he's a very famous man so people knew he was there and people were you know important people were meeting him and stuff like this and it's at one point he's at dinner and his uh fixer or whoever was that it was showing him around said the emperor would like to meet you the emperor of Japan oh sweet and ver hod

said what would I talk to him about I'm not interested tell him no and uh everyone around all the Japanese people around the table like are you [ __ ] serious and then one of them said are there any Japanese people you do want to meet like if the emperor doesn't make your cut and he went yeah that that guy who didn't surrender at the end of World War II and lived in the jungle for 30 years is is he still alive and they went yes he went I'll meet him thanks I want to meet him he said in the next day they were like we're going to take you to see him so he met him and he wrote this book about him is oh that's what it's about

[ __ ] all right mhm it's not the story of him meeting him it's the story of him living in the jungle for years he didn't know the war was over yeah he did he to AC no no no he knew people told him but he was like I was specifically told because it on the day they were retreating from uh the Philippines his commanding officer said I need one small Squad to stay behind we're getting our asses kicked and we're pulling out but I need you guys like if the Americans look like they're going to take this air base or whatever it is blow it up don't let anyone have it like death or glory and don't surrender under any cost unless I am personally here telling you it's okay

to surrender and he went got it and then over the years his crew slowly dwindled down from you know the dozen or so he was with to just him yeah right cuz everyone went I'm going to get a hunt no no no they were all killed in the jungle oh they just all they were all were doing it it's just that he was the last one left and they were picked specifically cuz they were trained at survival and like they it wasn't it wasn't just a they wer very good though not all of them he was [ __ ] exceptional best of the best he was the only Japanese person verer hog deemed worthy of meeting uh that's a that's a that's a goal to be

wor to be worthy of wner all right let's talk about something fun we got Chinese sex box no that sounds that sounds like after party talk I want to hear more about Alan Wake yeah so do I okay uh I've been playing Alan Wake too a little bit I haven't had a huge amount of time but uh I'm still really enjoying it and I uh I I messaged you guys because something happened in it and was I was like I think I know what's going on and I wanted to make sure this interested me too yeah I wanted to make sure I wasn't shooting myself in the foot with this so I was playing alen wake 2 I got to the first sequence where you're out in the the dark world or the the dark place walking around did a few things not very

far in it I get into an area and there's a TV there and it says you've discovered an episode of night Springs uh you can check it out now or you can go to the menu and check it out and I was thinking if it's like the first game he G to watch I'll just watch a little thing and then I'll continue on that's fine so I was like yeah I'll just do it now and they're not very detailed in the first game either no it's just like a little you know two minute maximum little video um so I was like I'll just do why would you watch it that triggered what I have what I realized pretty quickly was one of the first of the DLCs where you play as Rose the waitress and I was like oh and you can't as far as I can tell can't back out of it at that point doesn't seem to be a way to say no I'll

be Allan again now thanks yeah um so that's why I texted you guys and just said hey is going to be a problem like cuz I haven't finished the game yet am I going to ruin anything she's got uh guns that I've not had in the game [Music] yet that's right baby monitor I was for a minute there I was like what is happening um yeah so she got um weapons I don't have yet I was wanted to make sure I'm not going to ruin the game for myself but apparently not and the only thing and it it's not a you're definitely not going to ruin the game for yourself it is completely it's it's a it's a fantasy it doesn't it's not part of the game it is an episode of night Springs but there are things there

are jokes in it you might not fully get if you haven't played the I wondered that too because all I mean one thing in particular is that that in this obviously Rose is very obsessed with Allen that's not a thing that's been come up at all in the first game come up it does it does yeah yeah see so that's well the first one she was just a waitress she was cut out she had cut cut out she was super excited that Alan was there she always she wasn't like a psyched fan like he sh in this and like yeah to masturbate over alen press X repeatedly um yeah so I mean it again not a big problem but I was just like oh I guess that's probably something that's going to come up later small maybe this come up on the second one just maybe yeah I'll play it later well yeah but you

actually know more of the game now than I do but the problem actually but they obviously intended for it to be there like they put it there no but what I don't understand is that it takes place there's nothing that's a spoiler except that it takes place in a location you haven't been to yet and I would be concerned because the next DLC also is in a very specific place in the game the third one is not it's in a totally new place but the second one if you started watching that before you'd gotten up to that part of the game it might just be a bit weird it wouldn't spoil it but it just might be a bit weird because when I played them I went oh I'm back here but I'm a different person now yeah yeah yeah cuz there there's a or with rose

I'm in this location that I know from the game but she's imagining it's his house yeah so don't think I don't think that will change anything honestly it wouldn't change anything that's what I mean but it's just it's odd because you just don't know she's imagining the place that she works house the the place in that you going the situation almost before you see it in the real situation yeah and I think that's just just a different way to experience which you wouldn't have known if you had just played it through it's just another non seor in a game full of nonse so I think it's probably okay yeah but again I was like I I was like I mean they they put it there yeah knowing that and they put it where they thought it was me exactly right they would know surely they knew

someone playing the game for the first time is going to encounter this yeah and I would hope that they they had to go back and sneak it in they could have just kept it something that was only in the menu but they said no no no we'll put it in the game where should it go yeah yeah yeah interesting say stick with it anyway yeah I'm like oh I'm loving it the DLC is it's very funny I've out loud several times what was that line that you that you quoted oh uh at us that he says from the house hello is anybody there I'm I'm a helpless Rider and I need some need some Aid helpless Rider Ora I'm just AER some a very funny and this is after she fills up everyone's cup with coffee and

they're like you are the best waitress ever and then she meets Alan's evil twin brother and uh and she said and he's like what are you going to do and she's like I've got the shotgun and he's like yeah wait is that a real shotgun I was I'll be honest I wasn't I wasn't expecting that yeah honestly I wasn't yeah yeah like I'm sorry that I'm just like a badass version of my brother and I just wear cooler clothes but I just don't have his talent as a writer yeah it's very funny all right I need to do it I need to sit down what did Al ever do to you are you serious I just explained this to you like five minutes ago yeah have you finished that uh level that you finished the rose thing or not quite no I've gotten to there's a thing where you go into a little cabin and

then you go out and then I'm I'm I'm approaching a larger building I'm assuming that might be the place that you're referring to um so I've how long are the episodes it seems like it's not that long not that long yeah didn't think so not that long the second one's the the first one the rose one is pretty interesting because it's it's just like a high intensity section of the game mhm but the second one is like a low intensity section of the game yeah Stakes are low the second one though it's more of a fetch Quest okay with less less enemies and more M back and forth I'll say this the tone of the of the first DLC is a nice pallet cleanser cuz the the Allen in the dark place can

be like it's good but it it is very like like unnerving and kind of intense whereas where this Rose DLC is not yeah it's just funny yeah it's just [ __ ] blasting [ __ ] like you've got ammo appears to be no concern like M oh yeah well if it's her imagination it wouldn't be yeah so true yeah but I love it she starts off in that that pink dress and then by the time you get to the house it's just covered in blood like it's very cool yeah it's funny but um there's also a photo mode I see yeah so they released they they said a new announcement new

feature coming today and I was like oh what is it so you can you can take a picture and then you can edit it okay make it black I don't know people can do some amazing things with photos photo mode in games but I don't care I'll admit I I was playing and mostly As Saga and stopped occasionally just to look at the screen like if I'm standing on a cliff next to that Lake you know I was actually playing this in um it's got two modes much like cyber punk where you can put it in performance which is 60 frames and then you can put it in you know looks better mode and this game lends itself better to looking good a highed game generally I had it in performance mode but uh oh did you well then you should go back and with look good if you thought it I mean it's I

mean so far anyway it's not very like well the rose DLC is an exception but so far the the rest of the game the combat in it is not fastpaced and frantic it's like it's more like Resident Evil where you've got very little ammo and you have to be [ __ ] careful you better hope you don't run into anything that you need to shoot exactly yeah yeah you best to just avoid combat where possible [ __ ] that Resident Evil 2 remake was good do have we talked about that I think we talked about little bit we did a while ago I still have yet to play it I right to the end [ __ ] it is yeah I haven't finished it yet either but it is it it is does what every remake should do which is it's as good now as the first one was when it came out like when you when Resident Evil 2 came out you were like games

can't get better than this it'll never look better and it'll never play better but it still had the [ __ ] annoying tank controls and it was still actually very poal that [ __ ] guy whatever his name agent whatever the the big dude in the [ __ ] coat and the hat you know what I mean in the remake think [ __ ] terrifying like every time I hear oh the uh yeah yeah yeah when you're playing as her what's that yeah yeah yeah when you're playing as you Swit you switch characters yeah and she's trying to get into the maybe's different way to do it it switches automatically no no you can play the game with either character yeah I've been playing as yeah yeah yeah but I'm playing as the dude and then I rescue the chick and then suddenly it goes now you're the

chick maybe it's how you play it but I encountered that guy you're were talking about when I was the chick I've never played I've played as um what's her name the the the the Spy the FBI girl is that who you mean yeah that's who you switched to yeah but I when IED that [ __ ] freaky guy I counted him first before that interesting I wonder if there something how you play it maybe must that's interesting I'll say this though by the time you get up to that or not the police station is the best part of that game like you're in there for so long that could have been the entire game um and they didn't do anything as good as that until number seven again when you were in that [ __ ] Hicks house and for just the entire game you're in that house things are trying to get you you

can't get into certain rooms yet mhm did you play V [ __ ] try to survive yeah Village is so good I I don't know I think I struggled with Village I couldn't I got I thought seven was better than Village because I like the claustrophobia of it but Village was much more imaginative and had all the [ __ ] crazy [ __ ] and the [ __ ] baby parts and yeah yeah with like the vampire stuff and the fantasy and stuff it was cool yeah I loved it second best but I loved I loved seven seven was what made me go oh maybe I do like Resident Evil still seven because it's not Resident Evil that sequence in seven where it's the old woman with the lamp that whole series that whole sequence is just so [ __ ] scary like just slow and I'm [ __ ] crawling under the floorboards

of a house cuz there [ __ ] zombie Hicks above me like I've never been more scared in my life that was a good game I got to yeah of course seven has a evil fetus oh eight rather has an that evil fetus Village has an evil fetus oh God I forgot about that yeah [ __ ] me when I just hid in the closet in the game and just paused the game and sat there for a minute it's like yeah when that thing comes out you're like [ __ ] no literally got in the closet in the game put the controller down and went and got a drink and I was like [ __ ] hell I need a moment so good yeah that was terrifying I might give it another try I just I didn't get that far into I was in the sort of got there I was in that The Village at the start

and got stuck there and played other stuff games can scare you like no movie can like there's very few movies that I watch and go I was generally genuinely scared that movie freaked up it's different like at last I got to the first jump scare and just uninstalled the game oh I know that this is not for me I never played that but yeah I know what it is no I don't know that one yeah it but like the um uh Amnesia that series like [ __ ] terrifying yeah those were good um those good could find anything well even the first Resident Evil was [ __ ] terrifying and he had very few enemies but it was just like you were just in

the dark and then suddenly you'd come around the corner and something would be there and then have the voice acting Hill 2 was terrify I don't think that was that bad H Silent Hill [ __ ] as well but second one is particularly did we talk about this siren this we talked about this controversy with the new movie or show no the remake of the game right yeah I can't remember which was the contro yeah it was the remake of the movie there always a controversy the movie looks all right CU Kristoff Gans is back doing Silent Hill 2 which is actually an adaptation of the game do we talk about that oh right yes no we didn't talk about it so that's and listeners if you don't know who Kristoff

Gans is you need to get yourself a DVD of a little movie called Brotherhood of the wolf which is one of the best [ __ ] French action movies ever made on a recent rewatch it is much camper than I remember oh is it yeah it's still very good but it is okay I haven't seen it since the like the year 2000 when I mean it's a great movie but it's uh yeah a more it's about the Beast of Garin yeah who did he also or am I just lump lumping these in my mind together did he do dog soldiers no as well no no no didn't um Danny bo dog soldiers am I making that up it was Neil Marshall Neil Marshall Neil Marshall oh yeah he did The Descent that's who it oh yes yeah descent yeah yeah I am getting mixed up man The Descent is a [ __ ]

terrifying movie that's a great movie because it starts off about cave this this group of women who go caving and it's claustrophobic and terrifying because they get stuck and the caves are collapsing in that kind of stuff and then there's [ __ ] scary monsters yeah then it turn into a horror like yeah that movie isuck The desent is genuinely scary for sure yeah cuz by the time it got to the monsters I'd forgotten that there were going to be monsters and I was just like oh [ __ ] like yeah you're just like oh these girls going to get out of this [ __ ] cave yeah which is terrifying enough yes no I'm not in I'm not in for that it's very very intense good movie did you ever play what was Barker game for PC that came out late 90s undying yeah that that was scary

that was scary at the beginning it got a bit yeah yeah yeah it just yeah but the beginning in the house but that first time yeah when you're first in the house and you're just exploring and then you just hear that voice telling you to look behind you and you have to use your like ghost Vision to like perceive everything in the room [ __ ] creepy yeah good game yeah yeah it's a shame we couldn't maintain the tone or maybe they just were like it's also got to be oh by the end it was just like yeah now I'm just trying to fight this dude yeah yeah but the beginning it was very intense very very uh I had a box copy of that at the time when games used to come in boxes we are those boxes we just talking about things that are a bit scary I

still come in boxes sometimes we've been reading this book ter lra and I and jenet to lra do you know the skull it's a book called the skull by John Classen do you know this oh I love John Classen yeah I've got so many of his books give the give me my [ __ ] hat back Etc okay so this book is called the skull and it's about a uh a a little girl it's it's an old folk tale that he adapted it's about about little girl called otilla who runs away into the Forest Finds a house and there's a skull in there and what it's creepy as [ __ ] dude and so she becomes friends with the skull and then the skull says you can stay here if you want but you should know every night there's a headless skeleton that comes to try and get me and the girl goes the girl goes oh well

all right and then so she helps him and then she pushes the skeleton off the roof and then like smashes the bones up and burns him and throws him in this pit and then but anyway there's a lot of themes in this that um lra is like like asks questions [ __ ] I bet there is mate so even the very first page this is very PG isn't it even at the very first page now the first page is uh one night in the middle of the night otilla finally ran away and then immediately now L's like why did R away from [ __ ] W run away the skeleton house is a better better place for her she goes why Dida run away and I'm like uh I'm not sure she wasn't happy sexual abuse clearly don't know she just wasn't happy and with the little kid thing but why and

then and then the big the biggest one in there is otilla she lose the skele headless skeleton upstairs and then pushes it off the building and she's like why did I tell her do that I'm like well because the skeleton was trying to get the skull and she goes yeah but that's not very nice and I'm like that's true that's true why was violence the only why did she do it I'm like because she want to set the skull yeah but but why but but I want I want to know like why like cuz isn't the the body entitled to put its head back on yeah that's the thing she this reminds me if um so in the Green Knight this happens um he goes to a house and he sees this headless ghost and it keeps going to the river and then he goes down and it finds out there's a woman

murdered there and her heads in the pond and it's very Grim well I think she's starting to piece together that the skull and the skeleton go together because yeah but why doesn't the head want to go back on its body is my question because it's a whole thing where there's again first of all it's a fol tale Matt yes but there's it's a theme because Atilla runs away she comes to this house she knocks on the door the skull's there and the skull says I'll let you in but you have to carry me around cuz I'm a skull and she's like yeah that's fine they become friends and uh uh actually yeah and there's a bunch of really funny cool scenes and stuff and then they go up on the roof and the skull says oh you said you ran away and she said yeah and he goes um do you want

to talk about it and she says no and he goes okay but you don't want them to find you and she says no I don't and he's like all right and then later on he says this skeleton's going to come and then she goes you don't want the skeleton to find you and he goes no I don't and she goes okay so it's kind of like this oh okay agreement that they have that's ni yeah mhm um and then at the end they live at the house together cuz the skull cuz the skull doesn't know that that she smash he doesn't have his body that he doesn't like well he goes the next abusive so she pushes him off the roof and then puts the skull in bed and then the skull goes are you going to go to bed and she goes I got to take care of something and she goes and smashes up the bones and

burns them and throws them into this pit and then the next morning they're having books I have are not like this the next morning there's a whale who gets his hat stolen by a little fish and the little fish thinks he can get away with it and the whale comes after him but I mean you don't see any [ __ ] brutal killings well in the morning having breakfast and the skull go hope that skeleton doesn't come back again and then she goes and she's like he won't she goes he won't how do you know how shitty was this skeleton to begin with the skull can't run away until she gets there yeah it needs someone to [ __ ] hold him up he says that he says he's not as fast as he to my favorite pages in the book is with this one where he goes oh this is the fireplace room I make a fire and

drink tea in here and she goes oh you can make tea he goes well no not anymore and she goes okay but you can light the fire no no and she goes oh funny is that you in the painting yeah used to be that's good it does sound good but uh I think getting a lot of but why questions from us as well I don't have yeah no no I don't have the emotional band to read this children book of the year I almost bought a book because Mark Z danieli author of House of leaves has written a children's book right right and you know he only writes books that are just really [ __ ] weird and that you know you got to hold upside down or read in a mirror or whatever excuse me he's written this book the concept of which I think is

quite cool so the text is all different colors and the idea is you read it to your kid at different ages of their life and it gets more detailed so if your kid is three you only read the red words and it's the very basic version of the story when your turns you read the red and the green and then when your kid is like 15 or whatever you read the red the green and the blue or whatever it is but that's really interesting yeah I thought that was a very cool I heard him talking about it on a podcast and then I looked it up and it was like $70 and I was like I'm not paying that for a kids well yeah so anyway L describes that book as a little bit spooky but it's a but it's yeah yeah yeah witches it's called who's on the Broom
