I mean that I found quite amusing. Mandalorian Grogu becomes the most becomes the first movie to be unspoilable because nothing even remotely memorable happens throughout. Which is essentially what I thought this movie was going to be. Just a series of 1 liners and silly jokes.

There's been, there's plenty of reviews out and they're not all that bad. Some people liked it, you know, So I know Nate liked it. Nate messages. OK, you liked it. Plenty of people have liked it. OK, I'm I'm going to go see it. But yeah, I do think it is just going to be like just a series of jokes, but that's what I got from the trailer. With the main complaint I've seen is that it could have been 3 episodes of the show. Yeah, and there's. No need for it to have been a movie like but I complies to lots of things these days like.

I wonder if it cost more to make, and it would have cost a hell of a lot more to make than would have taken to make 3 episodes. Well, I don't know. That's the thing though, right? If it, if it, they've just made it the same as the show. And then I, I don't know. It's a weird, weird kind. Of yeah, because if they did make it the if it costs the same amount to see each episode, they're going to be rolling in money, yeah. Yeah, well, no, it's it's do I have this article in here? It's the weakest opening for a Star Wars movie ever. I mean, that doesn't mean that's not going to make a fuck ton. Of money but. Why coming out two weeks after May the Fourth? Why not try to tie into that week I? to see more about. I think people lost interest in the Mandalorian. Watched two seasons of The Mandalorian and then forgot to watch anymore and then now they're like going to see the movie and I was like, wow, that's like seems quite common. Like I don't know, I feel like. Well. People have just burned out on Star Wars now.

I think they went way too hard. Well, I think what really killed The Mandalorian was Boba Fett. Yes, that annoys people too. Yeah. You had to watch Boba Fett to to follow The Mandalorian. Yeah, I'm starting to learn how to play the game. And these, I'm actually finding out are actually quite good if you're learning to play. And he recommended that people learn how to play. So yeah, you were buying the cards on selling them. So people can't go and play. It's too expensive and you can't buy any.

So Forza Horizon 6 came out now officially came out this week, but if you purchased it the

deluxe edition or the premium upgrade he got it early and got it last week right just off that it made it to the top 10 most played games that are already over a million people were playing it before it was even officially released. So I think it's a game pass. So I think it's doing well I. Think it's a success? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I've heard a lot about it. People seem to be loving it. I like these games, so that's certainly tempting, but. I got a shock because it's not cheap like just.

The Oh yeah, you mentioned that. It's $90.00 so. Oh yeah, so to play this right, it's on Game Pass, yes, but what don't I get if I just play it on Game Pass, which is what I normally would do? You won't get the expansions when they come out. That's OK. Yeah, that's I'm used to that. You won't get the treasure map. If you're going to go around and collect all the collectibles, that's very useful. Oh OK. Is it an actual physical map? It's not a physical map, no. Goonie. Is it a goonie style map?

So I think you'd have to get the higher one. I want to play the Indiana Jones expansion, but I'm going to have to buy that presumably even if I have game pass. Is that true? Yes. Yeah, and then it makes me think there's a little part of me that wants to get it on the Switch too, just to see.

But I'm wondering how much of A downgrade that's going to be. And, and I'll have to play the whole game again, obviously, because I finished it on the Xbox. That's a that's a big investment. And if it doesn't look as good because it will be a downgrade. I know I'm just. Curious, I might I might look into that. Or isn't it? With some of the switched games you actually just play a streamed version so it might look. Yeah, some of the Resident Evil ones like that.

And I wondered so one of the things I was talking to someone about this the other day about how oh is I think it was someone at work. It's with with a kid. It became difficult. It's getting easier, but it became very difficult for a long time to play games consistently for a long period of time. And like now I'm kind of more able to play things like Dune or kind of exiles where you have to kind of, But if I'm going to go play Dune, I can't just jump in and quickly do a thing because it's I got to load the games, going to load into the MMO. And then if I go to do

something, if I want to stop playing, I have to go back to my base to log out. I just. Well, you can, but. You can, but yeah, you can't log in for a quick 15 minutes, play one match and log off. You. Yeah. I can't just, I can't just walk away from it, you know what I mean? Like the game continues and I'm in the world, whereas the Switch usually makes that kind of thing pretty easy because most Switch games you hit the power button and it goes to sleep. But those games, how does that

work? Like if I'm playing like RES, I know Resident Evil Village I think specifically is one of those games where it's streamed. So how does it work on the Switch? And presumably I can't play it without an Internet connection, which is also a little strange for a Switch game. Yeah, takes away one of the big sellers of the switch is that it's portable. Right, but if it's your only console I guess you would just deal with it. I don't know, I'm just curious about listeners watches. Let us know, have you got?

Just worried about your time management and what you should be committing to because you don't want to run out of energy and. Yes, I remember when the I tried to play the first Red Dead Redemption like long, long, long time ago, I think on my 360 and I thought the controls for that were atrocious. And I actually gave up on the game for a long time and then they patched it, I guess because I think we talked about this in the show. Dan and I moved into the apartment, didn't have Internet and I got the game and then like was infuriated by it. And then when we and then ranted

about it on the podcast, I think, and then we got Internet and then I was like, oh, OK. Nevermind. Because that's what used to happen. You'd buy a game, you didn't need the Internet, and you could play it straight from the disk, but that's it. You just got what was on the disk. But most games were coming up with day one patches back then. Yeah, but no. And. Now as well. Yeah, well, some of them. There's been some games like I've pre loaded and then the day

one patch is you basically reinstall the entire game. It's sort of like why am I pre loading this then yeah? I know it's, yeah, I mean, I understand it's games are much more complicated these days, but it is frustrating. Well, it's been 13 years since Grand Theft Auto 5 came out. What? I'm pretty sure that's funny. Double check A5 release date. Yeah, it came yeah. 17th of September, 2013. Yeah, right. And they've just been sitting back making a fortune off of their online. Yeah.

Didn't make any single player content and I still hate them for that, but I've still purchased a game like 5 times or something ridiculous. Because remember even before the five I think came out like 6 months after. Yeah, Red Dead 2 as well, right? Yeah, they want people to play the single player first, then they release it so and then it'll be a year before they released APC version. That's right. I remember when Red Dead Redemption 2 Live came out and

people were. Oh. Be trying to what do you call that? I mean being racist but what what what did they re enacting actual period appropriate attitudes and it's like. And it's also beating up on the women who were fighting for women's suffrage and, Oh yeah, through the streets and. The YouTube videos of that. Yeah, yeah. Very funny. So there's some other Xbox news and the Xbox head of strategy says console gaming is important, durable and still growing.

And I'm assuring, assuming this is in the context of like people are worried that with all the cloud stuff, consoles won't be a thing anymore. And like, it's a bit weird, right? Because the he still might mean that yes, the way that they think of it, you know, like so like if Xbox is just streaming, well, that's not I don't think that's what people mean when they say they want consoles, right. No, to me they want a console where they can just put a disk in and the game. Runs on the console, and you don't necessarily have to have

it hooked up to the Internet or anything. But we haven't had that for two generations now. Yeah, yeah. Well, as we said earlier with all the patches and stuff. Yeah. It's not. We don't live in a world where you could go buy a console and put it in a cabin in the woods with no Internet. And go buy. A game on disk and put the game in and expect the fucking game to work. No, of course not, because they don't you. Also, even if even if you could

do that, you didn't still have to wait for the game to install. Oh yeah, play from the disk. That's true, but but like the version of the game that you get on the disc is is not actually unplayable. Yes, like what? Imagine if you had Cyberpunk 2037. Imagine if you had just tried to play that off for. Me mate, worked fine for me. I don't know what people would complain about. I played through that whole game, it was fine. We will. I think I had to do one hard reset, but we were lucky enough

to have Xbox Series X as day one. Yeah, yeah. No, no, I know it was a if I was on the Xbox One, I would have been furious because I I was gagging for that game. Yeah, and they would. They did do good and they did make that game playable. But because of that, we missed out on. More than playable mate. That game is like phenomenal and they'd only made it better and better and better. Yeah, but we missed out on additional DLC because they focus so much on making it playable on the older.

I see. I see. Yeah. Yeah, we missed out on more content that could have been there. Yeah, that's a shame. Even though I didn't finish the deal, so that came out. Phantom Liberty. Yeah, I just forgot how to play the game. Yeah, that's good. Yeah, that's tough. But no, I think it's still going to be streaming is going to be the future, which I'm not a fan of. No, but I do feel like that's the reality.

Yeah, as I've said, like I reckon we've got one more console generation that's just full on console generation, and then it's going to be all streaming from then on, because there's been a few streaming services that have tried that just haven't worked. But now you've got like you're using GeForce Now, isn't it? Yeah, Yeah. And you're streaming everything off that and it's all fine. Yeah. It's great. Yeah. I haven't turned my Xbox on in. I don't even want. I don't even think about how

long it's been since I turned my Xbox on. But you can already, you can also, you've got Xbox Cloud, you can already start doing that. And so it's the way in the future. People just need to accept it even though I don't want it either. I mean, everything is like that. Look at the way we record this now. Yeah. Like the way we used to do this show. Four of us in A room. Yeah, yeah. We went from four of us in a room, not we didn't need

Internet or anything from that. We just I'd have to travel up from Sydney. We record 4 episodes in one go. Yeah. And we switched to everybody. We did it online, but everybody had to record their side of the conversation so we could put them all together and then and. Then. Yeah, various encourages that, Yeah. And then now we just do it like this and it just records everything. Yep. No matter how I can complain kicking and kicking and screaming, it's just it's got

stuff's going to change. It's. You should need to accept it sometimes. I mean, this is very convenient versus the. Yeah, this makes life a lot easier. Like you're travelling now and you're still just able to do it. When I was travelling around Asia. Right. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, you, You recorded this show from a fucking bar in Laos or the fuck? You were at the time. Like. I just in the middle.

I was ordering Ball B, Yeah, I didn't have to find a quiet pub. But then now you. Can be weird. And I I'm not sure you'd be able to play your Xbox in such a situation because you need higher. No, there's a few. There's big countries I'd be able to win, Thailand and I think Vietnam, but I mean you. Need a? You need a fast connection. Like yes. You need guaranteed for. Otherwise, yeah, well, it depends on what you're playing I suppose. But.

The point of this is they are still making a new Xbox, as unaffordable as that will be. Yes, given the current situation. Because people need to go on to AI and ask them to make people have bigger boobs. Yep, that's a human right. Yeah, I still say AI is pretty useful for some things. Oh, I find it very useful as

well. But I think a lot of it that you do see, the stuff that you see on social media is all crap. A lot of it just and it's being used a lot more for scamming people now which sucks. I tried the other day, people, a lot of people talk about, you know, having multiple AI agents doing all this stuff to make their day easier. And so I was like, I got to get in on this. So I, I've set up, I have a on my server at home, I've set up some stuff just to play with it. And I was like, OK, what can I have this thing do? And I couldn't think of anything

because I, my life, I intentionally like keep it simple, I think. And like, because I was trying to figure out what do these people have these AI agents doing? And it's like, oh, you know, they've got meetings all day and they've got like thousands of emails and this kind of stuff. And I'm like, oh man, I protect that. Like, like, I don't have that problem because I've been, I've always been really like protective of that kind of thing where it's like, no, no, my inbox needs to be empty. And if I get an e-mail and I

don't want to hear from it, I fucking unsubscribe or I just block it. Like I don't have thousands of emails in there. My emails would make you feel so uncomfortable if you saw them. Probably you're one of those thousands of unread emails kind of people. I, I and I also never delete anything either. So I don't delete them, I archive them. But they're all in inbox. Inbox. Only stuff that's in my inbox is stuff that I have to do something with and it won't be in there long because I have to

move it from there into my I have A to do app because if I don't put stuff in my to do app, it's not going to get done. I'm like, I'm just, I have systems and the systems need to be obeyed and I have to do it. So there's just nothing for an AI agent? To do what I do. I'm the AI. To do for me is I did, I took a lot of photos when I was on my trip and I want them to, I want them to go through my photos and just pick out the ones that are good. Just let me know. And then they're the ones I'll share with the people I've been

I think this one has been a pretty good run. See, I I tried to play and I get to a certain point in it and then the cup gets to the grindy part and then gets to rage, stuff like that. And I just chewed out once we get there. Yeah, no, I really like it. It's just like I said, it's hard for me to commit to one game. I even like do an awakening. I have to go in and power up my base. So that's all I've done. You know, I go in, I Potter around a bit and I put. But it's got you going back all the time.

It's got your. Destiny doesn't have a hook like that. No, and the problem is if you were probably to go in and play Destiny now from the last time you played it, it's probably a completely different game. Oh yeah, we've talked about this before. Yeah, yeah. After a long break it like sometimes it just throws you straight into a mission and I'm like what the fuck is happening? Yeah, yeah. And it's just trying to catch you up on the story that you've missed. And it's.

Yeah. Yeah, but I mean it is good like the gameplay is good like as a first person shooter I think it's I didn't really solid. Didn't enjoy it, but yeah, just this is a game that you need to commit a lot of time to and be across and you need to really play with people, with raids and stuff. But it moved. On to play with me. from these MMO type games and they're moving more over to Deluders like Marathon and Arcaders, where you sort of go in, collect resources, then you've got to extract the resources. That seems to be where the trend is going at the moment. OK, so I played Arcaders, I didn't mind that. Marathon, I just couldn't get into marathon. The Arc Raiders I really enjoyed. You collect resources in Marathon. Yeah, it's now an extraction shooter. It's not a first person shooter

this marathon. It's still first person, but. I feel like I don't know that I've played one of these. I I mean I've played Borderlands which. That's yeah. No, that's a Gluda shooter. That's a Gluda shooter. It. Was there were parts of the parts of the division that were like this? Yeah, yes. Yeah, yeah. And so that's what now the game has gone to completely. It's just you go in, collect stuff, go back to your base, upgrade your weapons, upgrade

your base, go out. You play with other people and some people are nice and other people will just sit there and care if you will murder you. But in upgraders, they've actually got a really good thing where if you're someone who likes to be aggressive and shoot out the players, they'll try and match you with other players that like to play like that and other people who like to just play friendly, just pass them by or help they'll. Just teamed up with them. Yep, not all the time, but some people are just Dicks. Oh. Great is.

I mean, could that be because when you're creating your character in Dune, they're they're clothed? Let's just say Conan Exiles is a lot hornier than than Dune

Ends up being a murderer who kidnaps teenage girls to torture them for his photography. OK. And takes photos of them while torturing them and sometimes goes a bit too far and that's why they die. So that I don't want to play that part. Why it'd be a challenge for you it'd. Be a big challenge. I'd have to look at the photos.

I like taking photos, I don't like looking at them. OK, well, you know, I think a lot of killers are strange. Like that I'm not a method actor so. True, true. Is that what the game's about? I didn't know that. Yeah, the first one's about, yeah, she can rewind time and it's a whole story about how a girl's gone missing and yeah, OK. Yeah, I knew that. But then she gets yeah. And then the the second one was following a brother, two brothers, as they sort of ran from the law.

And then they found out no, people like the story of Max, so they went back to that. And so I'm playing the current ones at the moment. So there was one that was set before Life is Strange which follows. Life is normal. Life is normal. And then I'm playing the one I'm playing at the moment, sort of set 10 years after and you're playing as Max again as she's now teaching photography. OK. And then there's another, there's one coming out that I'm playing at the moment that came out very quickly.

That's this reunion where the two main characters get back together and then trying to stop the school from burning down. And then there's another one coming out later this year, which follows the story following the other girls in her life leading up before she met Max. So it's all yeah. Like just making pumping them out. They are, they really are, but I enjoy them. Yeah. Yeah, I'm all for this. Lots of people do OK. But yeah, it's going to be set up and followed sort of like

the. I should play the first one catch up. Well, you could maybe watch it and I. Could probably play it on my switch too. Yeah, I've played the first one I think 3 times because released on different versions and achievement sack. All right, it's like a just, it's like a adventure game, right? You kind of wander around and do stuff you. Walk around, do stuff, talk to people. And then there's puzzles where you've got to use your power of

rewinding time to work out how to do things and. Yeah, just like. The story's quite good. I really enjoyed. Highly recommend. Well, I. Already know what's going to happen now, but that's fine. And then on, on, on that note, actually I looked there's billboards around Rhode Island right now because Metallica are going to be playing at Mohegan Sun, which is a casino. And that'd be amazing to see. I've never seen Metallica for some reason. Because they've always been. Excuse me? They've always been very expensive to see in Australia. I think when they came out, this was a long time ago and it was

like $150.00 and at the time that was. A lot of money that was an. Obscene amount of money. It's probably not now anyway. I was like, Oh yeah, I'll go see Metallica. No, no I won't because I will not pay $600 to sit it up the back 600 fucking dollars. $600.00 I want to speak at the front. 600 bucks to sit at the back like what is happening? So I don't know if this is going to fix that, but one of the problems Ticketmaster, I guess enables is that the tickets will go on sale and you can resell them. So yeah.

Scalpers and it's reselling sites and. People will just buy them all up and then resell them for a fuck ton of money. So I don't know if that's what's happening with this Metallica thing because that just seems insane to me. But Spotify is going to do this thing where if you are one of the, you know, like, do you use Spotify? I use Google. OK, Spotify will, you know, you've seen Spotify Wrapped and all that, right? Yeah, Yeah. It tells you like you're in the top X percentage of fans of

whatever band and all that kind of stuff. I think that if you're one of the top fans of a band, you will get early access to buy tickets and you can't fake it kind of thing. So the idea is that this will stop scalpers from doing that because they just won't have access to them unless they are like for some reason like also fans of of a band. Or they just set up an account and just have it on repeat. Well, so OK, this it says we'll identify real fans based on factors like streams, shares, and other Spotify activity, and we'll also monitor the activity

of premium users to ensure they're real humans and not bots. If you're 1 of an artist's most dedicated fans, you'll have the opportunity to purchase 2 tickets during a dedicated window, typically around a day. OK, I I think it's pretty cool. Yeah, it sounds like it could be good. Yeah. They they caution there will more than likely be more super fans than there are seats available on a tour, so not every fan will end up receiving an offer like for Yeah, I imagine someone like Taylor Swift, like the ACT, the fans

outnumber the seats any given show. Like yeah, it's just not possible. But no I can. But this would prevent scalpers. In theory, I think it's a pretty good idea. Well. Even just having a better limit on tickets sales and. Just stop. Reselling. Because I think one of the things that's always sad is then somebody really loves a band and they don't get to go just because, you know, other people bought the tickets. And this would stop that.

And but then conversely, I suppose is this might mean, you know, a casual fan wouldn't be able to get tickets at all. This is the opportunity to, yeah. So I guess that's an aspect of it as well, like someone who's a casual fan but also gets up really early in the morning to buy the tickets kind of thing. You won't be able to do that like. Yeah, no, I think it's a step in the right direction. But because I that's always been hard. I remember having to sleep out to buy tickets. Yeah.

And he still weren't guaranteed to get a ticket. Yeah, we used to line up in the parking lot. Yeah. Oh, I'm going to go see a band in October. What band? Tism. It's a serious mum tism.
