E3 2017 Day One with Jenna & Matt

let's talk E3 all right cool day one day one done dusted yep what you think of your first day of your first E3 man um you know the um Alexander the Great quote he wept when there was nothing left to conquer that's how I feel about our time at E3 because we've been to all these big conventions and now E3 is like the top and there's nothing else Where Do We Go From Here well I guess it's so good we just keep going to E3 I guess yeah it's pretty pretty intense actually it's like a super [ __ ] Big Show yeah because all the triaa game all the AAA companies have like their their biggest games that we didn't know were even on the table until yesterday there's a bunch of games that like just got announced and and now they have these huge exhibits we got like

Wolfenstein 2 just got announced and then uh it's got a big display there they've got like a diner set up they're giving out strawberry milkshakes um hopefully we get to play that tomorrow because the line was enormous that's yeah we're going to try to get in line for that right away tomorrow morning because it was the the convention center has broken up into two Big Show floors and this was in the second one that we went into yeah by the time we got there it was already filled up yeah yeah so we got a delay of the land today and uh and also kind of delay of the convention in general we've never been to E3 obviously so we kind of didn't really know how it worked versus something like packs right um a game we did get to play play was law Breakers which is Cliff linsky's new

game yes um it's busy Studios is his new company yeah it's a shooter kind of like a sports shooter yeah um people have compared it to OverWatch yes uh but it's like super fast and crazy like I mean I I don't know maybe OverWatch is I haven't played much of it but no neither have I I kind of think I it reminded me of old Unreal Tournament right yeah which makes sense because it's Cliff yeah but the um yeah so there's like a bowl and you you collect the bowl for your team FL yeah exactly and try to get it back to actually very much like Capture the Flag but with a bowl yeah and uh capture the ball capture the ball yeah they should have called It capture the ball oh man we go we should go tell them tomorrow we should trade mark that

and then go and tell them um but it was fun I'm not like good at those games no neither am I and I hate playing them while there's a line of people behind me watching like yeah like a thousand people especially on the PlayStation controller cuz it took me the first like two minutes just to figure out how to invert the thing right yeah yeah yeah which button is Select and which one's back it's it's pretty similar to the Xbox generally just because different Sy like not like the Nintendo where they swap the freaking buttons around yeah um but that was good that was fun uh it's on PC and PS4 um so we won't get to play on the Xbox but maybe I don't know comes out in August yeah I don't think he ruled out Xbox I saw people giving him

[ __ ] about it on Twitter um and I like it hasn't been ruled out I think but uh they haven't made an official statement or anything like that but it's yeah PS4 and PC at the moment you probably saw Nintendo have announced Super Mario Odyssey and they have a huge kind of City setup uh at the convention which is kind of cool it's very cool it is probably the most crowded area of anywhere yeah uh apparently we accidentally didn't notice that the voice of Mario was there uh we just assumed people were taking photos of the display and uh so thank you Darcy for pointing that out in one of our snap stories he was like Hey the voice of Mario was there you guys didn't even say anything and we were like what and then yeah so whoops and if you want to um see

if you can see any other video game celebrities behind us why not you can follow us on Snapchat uh I am laughing cattle and Matt is brain fed yeah so apparently please point out the uh the cool things that we didn't pay any attention to in our videos uh but yeah that area is really cool we didn't get to play Super Mario odyc because the lines were freaking huge uh people were super into that uh obviously they amounts Metroid 4 we saw in the presentation uh but that's in development so we can get to see it but that kind of makes me want to switch Yeah and um they announced some DLC for breath of the wild yeah I do want to play yeah I know and also they uh they announced that Skyrim on the switch is going to have uh Zelda stuff

in it it's going to have the Master Sword and the shield and I think you get to wear his tunic and stuff like that so um speaking of Skyrim they have a Skyrim VR there yes that we would like to try tomorrow yeah definitely want to try that Skyrim and VR I mean I guess Skyrim is just on every platform now and doom uh oh yeah Doom VR and uh and full 4 yeah yeah so well I mean I guess just all the Bethesda games Bethesda VR was the thing and but I'm just surprised that they're all on there I knew full out 4 was they had announced that already but I guess it makes sense that they would just put them all on there do want VR would be sick terrifying yeah I know I love that game though it would be so good especially the music yeah yeah it would be intense yeah I think in a good way I

think but yeah so I'm Keen to try that I think they only had Skyrim on either that or they would they were asking people and chose Skyrim CU I didn't see anyone playing anything else in there do you think they have Wolfenstein and VR oh man that would be cool the new Wolfenstein looks pretty cool Sony's got a bunch of stuff uh they've got a big Battlefront 2 display but I mean that's coming out on everything as far as I'm aware y uh but we saw some footage of that and we saw that looks gorgeous yeah does it looks like even just compared to the last one yeah I mean the last one was fun and this just looks like like kind of refined and just better so I guess we're going to end up playing that yeah um does for for a month or two

until just nobody plays it anymore and it dies yeah yeah that was sad I'd still I'd still be playing the other one yeah the other one was fun it's just there's too many games too many games these days remember back in the old I don't know if this is too I don't know if there's more games or it's just that I can I can have more games than I used to be able to or that we're adults and we don't have the time to play all the games yeah that's true but when I no but when I was a kid right I I mean we've talked about this on on the podcast before I was allowed one game right and that was the game that I could have and it had to last me six months yeah so whereas now they're coming out every week and uh I mean there's a lot

more to them than you know back when we were playing true yeah cuz I played the [ __ ] out of super breakout when I was little and there is not much to that game yeah that's true I just remember that I bought uh BX mankind divided uh months ago and uh I just remembered that I did and I haven't played it yet so CU because more games came out we saw uh the Xbox One X uh we saw the physical form of the uh the new console it's very exciting and the insides yeah we saw it's guts dis displayed for I like how there's actually an x on the inside like a an X yeah pretty cool yeah well there needs to be two of them now more X's or an S triple xbx oh like the like triple XX

like yeah like the Vin Diesel version yeah um and we saw this some game play on I mean the it looks good like it looks real good in 4k it's real pretty yeah except some of the games they have I mean not not I'm I'm sure these are great games like of Thieves looks great uh and it looks like fun but I I don't know it doesn't like it's not pushing the Scorpio no it's it's not called the Scorpio I keep calling it Scorpio I was saying it today I'm sure I said I think I said it to some reps today and I'm like you [ __ ] Mor it's not called the Scorpio anymore I like Scorpio better than I like X yeah it's catchy but yeah so C if thieves like it looks good but I don't think it's like it's not showing off the hardware like the new um fter game or that uh state of

trailer I don't think you can't play State of Decay 2 that's not here uh oh also the anthem the BioWare game they showed mhm that I really really really want to play that's not here it's not playable um they just showed a video and that's it um oh and Minecraft in 4k like all right why do we need that I mean I've seen it it looks it's it's crisp in its pixelated mine craftiness but like it's it's Minecraft so cool I mean people love it so yeah I'm I'm the the weirdo here I guess but oh and Crackdown Crackdown two three three Crackdown three I missed Crackdown to we didn't make it into the Coliseum because it only fits a very

small percentage of uh the number of attendees yeah it only fits uh like under 2,000 people yeah that's what they told us yesterday so we didn't we didn't go into the Coliseum I believe you can see those if you go to live. E3 expo.com actually if you go to live. E3 expo.com you can see uh a bunch of stuff they've got a lot of stuff up there uh or again follow us on Snapchat brain fed and laughing cattle we go to multiple nasm.com uh check us out on social media we did some Facebook live stuff oh we haven't been able to do as much stuff as we wanted from the show floor because the uh phone reception sucks yeah there's a little bit of Wi-Fi around the media area but once we leave that that's all yeah so we're we're kind of disconnected more than we want to be but
