Star Wars: The Force Awakens Special – HEAVY SPOILERS!!!

guys a bit tired little tired worth it so worth it I watched that Independence Day trailer like 50 [Laughter] times uh um this is our special uh Star Wars the Force awaken special and um I'm pretty sure we're just going to talk about spoilers am I right H even just even just saying whether we liked it or not is kind of a spoiler at this stage so I think if you don't want to hear about it just don't listen to this until you've seen we try and keep it to a minimum so I think try and stay away from major plot you know what no no no because I don't know that I'll be able to talk about some of the stuff that I want to if we don't spoil certain things okay

you know so um so if you haven't watched it please go see it like you should go see it you should have seen it already yeah and then uh hours now what are you doing and I'll put well not in America apparently I don't know if it's even out yet there at the time we're recording this you know I wonder if there's some rich [ __ ] who calculated which time zone hit 12 a.m. on the 17th first and flew there so he saw it at the earliest possible time I bet that happened probably yeah I uh I was warned by well not warned I was asked nicely by some people uh who live in the states not to say anything on Facebook about it because they didn't have it yet I had so many people at work tell me um if I

could just not talk to them today yeah yeah that's nothing to do with Star Wars though yeah but you imagined that's what it was about so what do you think of it okay here's where I am at the moment wow omous I enjoyed it just remembering that when you saw The Phantom Menace you told me that it was great all right go that was just hyp this time I thought into it now I enjoyed it I don't like it yet and I can explain why all right all right well okay let's find out what Dan thought first all I'll give you the overall comment yeah it's not perfect but I don't care I loved every second of it

MH um I agree it's it's definitely not perfect and there are a few things that I will mention that I mean that made me go come on uh but I really really enjoyed the whole thing and I definitely want to watch yeah I really liked it it was it was it was good guys we've seen it finally yeah and we can [ __ ] talk about it I wanted to talk about this all day talk about it as as of now as of now uh spoilers like so like seriously if you haven't watched it go away because we're we're going to ruin it all right Jones Is Dead um just want to say I called it yeah I had um I had read somewhere that Han died in this and um JP when he was around the other day uh we were

talking beforehand before Jenna got home actually and he said you know uh he dies in in the next one and I said don't say that when is here cuz I don't think she's read that and I do not want you to spoil that because hey I don't know if that's true but it doesn't matter because because B shut up that's right yeah so as soon as as soon as that that scene began to play out I was like okay yeah goodbye can I just rattle off a list of things that I thought worked really well yep yeah please okay number one the cast [ __ ] amazing everyone could I just say I have one problem with one of the cast members okay go on the general of the New Order a bit bit too young to Young he's young yeah yeah yeah I that's the that's my only caveat I

would say is that he while while he did a good job I don't understand why there were like two 21 year olds running it well that's when he's actually Kor Ren's talking to him and he goes should we maybe bring clones in and he sort of and he goes know my guys's been trained since birth and it's sort of they're older than you that was a nice little tip of the Hat though yes yeah yeah also I'll point out that uh Adam Driver is in his 30s so he looks 12 I know a lot of people were commenting about how like he's this like angsty teenager and I'm like he's [ __ ] the same age as us yeah the actor is but right but I supposed to be quite young right maybe yeah I he must be if if you told

me that that character is 35 I'd be like what the [ __ ] is he acting like that yeah I suppose I guess I assume they're all supposed to be about the same age Finn Ray and um yeah and kylo the Next Generation yeah exactly all right so um so that was the only casting issue you had is that right Luke I think so yeah okay everyone else loved them all right what's next on your list Dan uh [ __ ] It Felt Like a Star Wars movie mhm absolutely like it it looked like a Star Wars movie and it sounded like one and I just like [ __ ] I five minutes in I just turned to H and I was like it doesn't suck yeah you could tell the tone was

right straight away yes the tone exactly was spot on the jokes worked because so good like they were even the ones that were a bit goofy were great like I really there's some of my favorite jokes in it were I loved it when bb-8 gave him a thumbs up yes yes even though I was like because you know and I honestly at the time thought in the C you know what if George had tried to do that same joke he would have found a way buck up he tried to do those things in the prequels with R2 and they just didn't work he just he just he just doesn't have what it takes well for Stars by the prequels weak knew exactly what R2 could and couldn't do or did we yeah yeah he does a bunch of [ __ ] in the prequels that came out of nowhere

he's got [ __ ] jets in him yeah that's right oh he can fly I can think of a few times and that would have come in handy yeah bar for instance yeah that's right now he just falls in the water because he's he for no good reason and um and one other joke that I really enjoyed was uh when they get to staka base and Han says to Finn what did you do here and he's like sanitation he sanitation I thought you said you know how to get the shields down he's like I was bluffing we can use the force yeah go Force doesn't doesn't work like that that was that was great yeah yeah lots of good moments like that that's I think that's what the prequels missed with the comedy stuff was there were nice moments that weren't like they didn't draw attention to

themselves it were people acting like humans being funny yeah yeah I think the comedy was good and yeah like I said the overall feel it was dark but it wasn't like oppressive no yeah and I just like how dark off sorry l i just like how like you get the opening the opening scroll and then action which is what we now it's just straight into it here's a bit of an idea what's happening and now we'll tell you what's happening now here's Max von but you forgotten him see here's yeah no that's my other thing that I liked about this right not everything they brought up is now finished like yeah who the [ __ ] is Max von sida's character clearly he's some important dude yeah that's not what this story is about we're just

littering this world with really interesting things apparently um as well because JJ is not directing or writing the next one that's right Ryan Johnson is and apparently uh Ryan Johnson received the dailies from the force awakens uh as well he was sent them every day and he would send JJ aams notes um just to like not not like critiquing I think but just asking him hey can you give a little nod to something in this scene yeah cuz I'm going to follow it up I'm is a pub yeah that's right no one making a fish and chip shop next to that Pub yeah it's just forest and then the [ __ ] Cana yeah yeah great who did Simon Peg

play uh I believe he was the the the guy in the junk shop that she sells things to he might have been yeah yeah that's I think so MH mhm yeah all right well uh do we want to talk about some things that we didn't like sure U or not so much we didn't like or just that I thought I thought that another Death Star yeah was unnecessary in the end of every movie you have to blow up something round yeah it could have been I think I felt like the the big bad could have been something different and also I thought the way that it work have to blow it up for this story to have been resolved too um no I actually quite liked it though yeah I he was playing it safe because you know what it was fine yeah it was disappoint there's a lot of

safe in this that weapon is better than a death star no it is it's a bit ridiculous fly there whereas that thing just I'm going to aim and shoot yeah it shoots through hyperspace yeah um one thing I found a bit weird is how fast they now travel through hyperspace yeah I agree actually this a lot of stuff like that in this uh they sped up the way things happen for land out of hyperspace as well mate you can do that yeah you can uh you can fly out of a hanger straight into hyperspace even though it ain't like DUS and crops apparently it is yeah it is just like that and not only that you don't have to train to fight with a lightsaber um no um they have both trained yeah I know what you mean but I

think and I'm okay with it I'm just but I felt like I thought um Finn versus the Stormtrooper was cool because as a stormtrooper himself he would have been trained in martial combat right I thought him versus kylo when kylo had been shot and everything I was okay with that but then I thought I don't know I know clearly Ren is supposed to be very strong with the force and like said I loved the [ __ ] fight scene it was amazing but I did feel like it was very sudden that she she having literally never touched a lightsaber before in her life was able to keep Pace I think that's why you always had like he was injured but she always had that stick with her so she has been fighting with that so that's where yeah no that's fair like I I like

I said I didn't dislike it in fact I [ __ ] loved that whole sequence great sequence great like when he's trying to get the lightsaber and then it goes to her instead that was great and you know what I like best about that sequence right and it's not even the fact that they tone down the [ __ ] Su assaults and [ __ ] which I I do I do appreciate [ __ ] yeah that was a great fight scene but when when they were fighting I wasn't even sure that I wanted one side or the other to win because Carlo Ren is a really interesting character yeah like I didn't want him to die Darth Maul style you know what I mean no exactly in fact I was concerned at one point when at the end I was like did she kill him yeah like CU I don't want him to be dead like I need more from him you know one

thing about corent that voice is stupid really with the Mason I just I like it because I like his character a lot because of that in as well like he really just wants to be Darth Vader but he's not as good he just does a poor imitation yeah and so I feel like cuz his voice is like a poor man's Darth also keep asking like why does this guy not have to wear a uniform yeah he's just like actually one of my other favorite funny scenes is when he Chucks that massive tantrum and starts smashing everything two Storm Troopers W they walk down the hallway and they hear and they slowly walk back the other way that was probably favorite moment yeah um one another thing I sort of didn't quite like or I think just

miss the Mark was the music yeah there wasn't a whole lot of memorable stuff apart from every time one of the old themes came in I um I really like like I was like oh but then yeah I don't know there no real strong like Imperial March or anything I'll say this though boys because I noticed that too and and it did irk me but that kind of film score is dated now they don't do fil that anymore yeah no I it would have sounded retro if they' done it and I think they were trying avoid that that's fair that's fair and to John Williams credit like I guess he's able to if that is true then he's able to to do both yeah because he's he's like known for these iconic yes exactly right

like kind of motifs go guy motifs is not what people do anymore you know what I mean like in Indiana Jones the Indiana Jones music starts anytime there's action yeah right did that now people like okay you wrote one song I get it yeah yeah I really like Kye Ren because he's like uh he's like he's dangerous like he's actually I think he's more dangerous than Darth Vader sociopath cuz he's just [ __ ] yeah like he's really unpredictable okay and one thing I they sort of set it up that I don't think he can come back to the light side no like to kill your father in Cold Blood is a bit how do you go back from that also if you're going to change your name it's like if your name's Ben and literally anything is Ren really the

stretch of your imagination maybe they put him on the spot so also how did you guys like the fact that Klo Ren is Han Le's son because I know we've talked on this podcast about not really liking how linked gets in these Star Wars movies no I think it worked because of the the Luke training them thing I think thats fine yeah and I I I think the if it had just been see that this is clever version of it where you've got like Han Leia and Luke Luke's training New Jedi Han and Leia have a kid um the kid learns about his grandfather who is who's Luke and Le's father and becomes interested in the dark side of the force that's cleverer than just [ __ ] oh

related yeah oh good a chewy oh good day yeah my name's Han you know yeah yeah anyway maybe I'll see you again someday wink yeah that's right I mean even the fact that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father is a stretch when it was a complete fluke that a the droids fell to tne B yeah that he happened to buy them C that the one he was going to buy blue up first like that was the whole thing was that Luke was not involved in this yeah yes I saw someone said in a forum today that there's a lot of um coincidence drives the plot in this and then someone else commented next and said have you not seen Star Wars people say that a lot yeah when right critiquing this film like have you not seen one of these before I'm glad

they limited it to that to the one uh brother sister son relationship who is R so far I'm hoping she's just no onebody that's what I hope too and if she's anyone's relative I hope she's Star-Lord sister right and nothing more Star-Lord from [ __ ] Guardians of the Galaxy yeah yeah okay yeah with her with her story cuz that you don't we still don't know anything about her except she was left she was waiting for people to come back and she's even stronger than the force than kylo Ren be so if she's Luke's daughter though honestly it's too easy she we saw see I need to see it again because uh those Visions she had when she went to pick up the lightsaber were really interesting but I I was like trying to pause it all like it was there

was a lot to it and when it looks like she's being left on jaku and somebody is with her and it looked like somebody who is dressed like kylo Ren with his voice or like a voice like that talking is that what everyone else saw or well in a lot of there was colorin in a lot of those Visions yeah so maybe it was not that's why I'm thinking that somehow there might be a bit of a relation there it just seems weird that she would be having visions of and I get it does make sense that I mean if it's if it's genetic like you know like don't say it man don't the if the force is strong in your family then it makes sense that it would draw these people together yes not only that I was thinking last night like

something like Game of Thrones for example right they're all related you know what I mean like literally yeah but like like sagas like this tend to become about families anyway sure yeah yeah you know what though this I'm not going to say this is made up for the prequels right because that's probably an overshot but it's at least restored my faith in the story and has made me stop questioning why I like Star Wars yeah because I started to think oh [ __ ] maybe that was just a Flash and a pan no no no it's not this is an incredible world with stories to tell and then it got me thinking that I can kind of see

where George Lucas was going with the prequels too going yeah yeah yeah once the war starts there's just crazy action and [ __ ] but the leader to that is all about politics and personal relationships and that is kind of interesting I wish he'd just maybe written his own side novels or something instead of making them Canon yeah or let somebody else maybe don't shoot your first script yeah yeah or start planning it before you've written the the script would be and also I mean he did have a very uh a negative relationship with with the fandom yes like he clearly didn't like the same things about Star Wars that everybody else likes that's right and that's perfectly obvious now when he's

come out and said oh it's not my cup of tea but the fans are love it and we do we do well I don't love it yet can I say actually one thing one other thing disappointed me uh was fasma who was in in it for about 60 seconds like total everyone I like but you also look you don't know what happened to her no no no I'm I'm sure she's going to be she will be back and I love the fact that and they foreshadowed this early when she was like who gave you permission to take your helmet off I'm like they're not going to show her without a helmet are they they're not going to do it they're gonna be like [ __ ] you we know you recognize her voice we ain't gonna show you yeah I just thought it like when

they this said though they said they were going to stuffer down the garbage disposal and then she just wasn't in it anymore yeah and I'm like she even make it off the [ __ ] planet one thing I really really loved was pretty much the story of Han and Leia about how like he'd gone back to his old smuggling ways and Leia had sort of thrown herself into the resistance which makes total sense to their characters because they were torn apart after what happened with their song yeah I think that was just great [ __ ] man Harrison forb was pretty great in this I got to say yeah and I think they probably pushed his character to the absolute limit of what I would have allowed them to do yeah maybe they overstepped it a tiny bit and having him

in the exact outfit was maybe a stretch although I like when she said he said oh you've changed your hair and she's like you're wearing the same jacket yeah like new jacket yeah it was some nice moments yeah yeah so yeah when he first showed up I was like oh oh come on yeah that's right don't do don't [ __ ] this up oh Oh I thought it was it was a bit convenient actually that they that they flew right past him not only that the the the Millennium Falcon was like there in the first place that was like such a nice reveal though yeah oh yeah I know not I yeah it was great but it was also like why is that there come on and then also handled so well agree they sort of

explained it but didn't go into we don't need all the details but I sort of liked it well no he stole it then he stole it from him and it's nice again it's another one of those things where if if George had tried to do it it would have been like that's what I was gonna say it's not that I liked it but I thought they constantly did things I didn't like in ways that I did like yeah yeah yeah they made them okay yeah so it was like oh this moment probably doesn't need to be here guys oh you kind of you made it work okay yeah and they got that stuff out of the way now and I think the best thing about this movie is that it sets everything up for the the the next chapter and we don't need anymore that stuff now that's

right absolutely so we can we can proceed now with with all new things like please don't try and tie anything together anymore we don't need it there were quite a few things that this is movie where it's weird you have to actually think about some of the things that happen which is um with Ray when I thought when she just started using like the mind control and things I thought that was a bit strange but then when I like how would she know any of this but then when you think about it when Kyer Ren's trying to get information from her and she had that automatic self-defense and went into his mind she would have picked up on a lot of things from that connection she knew she knew stuff about Luke and the Legends as well so maybe I assumed she was like maybe it's maybe I can do

that speaking of which right do you know that somewhere deep in space there's a planet right with a set of stairs that go up and up and up to a lookout it's the first Jedi Temple there's no [ __ ] Temple up there that's a real place apparently they're really they're really pissed off that they oh really that they filmed there yeah they and they probably won't be allowed to film there again it's like uh it's an island off the coast of irel going to have a lot of yeah it's the iseland and they're going to have a lot of nerds going there now yeah they um for their economy but I was waiting when she was holding out that lightsaber to him and he was staring back and she was holding it out and he was staring back I just

was waiting for her to go if you're not going to take this I'll just put my arm down for him to go how old are you one thing the second he took his um his cloak off his hood off I just saw Rick M have you seen Rick B before he died he had that sort of long hair in the bead and that's who I saw that would have been great actually my when he pulled the hood down I was like he looks way better than I expected he was going to look under that hood yeah yeah that's right like kudos to my what sort of paycheck do you think he got well it would have been a three picture deal but you're right he wasn't

utilized much in this for someone who was the central plot character arguably stares intensely you know what you know what else I liked though I liked that Ren is attractive but not distractingly so yeah like she's not like unbelievably like like some [ __ ] superm model living on this planet that you were like well she probably could have done a bit better for herself just based purely on her looks right she just she looks like a normal pretty girl yeah exactly yeah who lives in a [ __ ] hollowed out at-8 I think you'll find that's an Adat no no no no Luke not anymore [ __ ]

you oh uh I didn't know if I was going to like bb8 and I do yeah he's a little charmer I was like after watching him for a bit I was like yeah the way he moves is really good at conveying emotion and I can see why they did that yeah apparently there were early sketches back in the 70s for a Droid like that and then they just had no idea how they were going to build it right because he's a practical effect right yeah yeah I believe so yeah so yeah no I like him yeah I like I like him so much I I bought a little pop vinyl one today I like that little uh that little

bartender of course you did [ __ ] you know have you have you noticed on the poster right you know the one you the one with the little goggles right yeah on the poster if you look up the you know they've got all the people like it's a Star Wars poster so all the people are on there in like a in a collage Y and she's up the back kind of behind R2 and if you're not looking closely it looks like Anakin like as in what Jake Lloyd Anakin let me see because it's got with the little goggles oh yeah right you know what I mean yeah yippee oh God I hate those so much you know what's funny though I was talking to some younger people today who Youngs I saw a great meme the other day that was just that was a still from A

New Hope where Obi-Wan gives Luke the lightsaber on T and he goes this was your father's lightsaber he killed 30 children with it but um the young people saw them in order they saw episode one first yeah right and none of them have a problem with the prequels because there's no kind of comparison to be made yeah I think it's like um cuz like I I rewatched Return of the Jedi recently and there's some stuff in there that I didn't that didn't I didn't notice that it was [ __ ] when I was little and I look at it now and I'm like oh boy yeah like yeah I know Ewoks are pretty [ __ ] stupid Ewoks all together it's [ __ ] ridiculous train [ __ ]

soldiers getting killed by little things throwing that whole sequence looking at it now I'm like what are the Troopers doing shoot them yeah yeah you've got armor on you're fine koalas are throwing rocks they are bar and they spend like half an hour not doing any damage to any of the the atss yeah and then yeah yeah some stuff like that but then you got all the stuff in the throne room with the emperor which if that wasn't there I don't know man that's some of the best [ __ ] in Star Wars absolutely it is so I know that uh Luke I can't remember what you thought about this but I know Matt you made some criticisms when we saw the trailer of kylo Ren's hilted lightsaber yeah I still I still

have some criticisms about it it looks cool I thought you saw how he actually was able to use it well he burned stabbed fin in the shoulder with it yeah yeah but I mean he's literally never fought anyone else with a lightsaber as far as we know why would he be fighting people with a lightsabers no one's got them so I don't know I also like it that his isn't all smooth like the others no it's kind a shitty crazy energy yeah yeah it's aggressive like he just made it himself and he was like [ __ ] this yeah it kind of sums up his character he's just an angry he's like an emo kid yeah like really [ __ ] this my Angry lightsaber yeah that's right [ __ ] you Dad it's not bad it's [Laughter]

Ren yeah no I I like I like the that aspect of it I still don't quite like I said the it's not effective for blocking because look at it you could just if if for for one they don't seem to slide down each other like a sword wood like lightsabers if it did slide down it would hit the mechanism not the actual exactly yeah I actually think it is there just as an extra weapon like cuz they do end up getting if you watch in every single fight there is that moment where they are locked together look it now that I've seen his character I I'm okay with it because like I can totally see him going you know what's cooler than a normal lightsaber this [ __ ] lightsaber I made yeah with the things coming out the side Darth V didn't have one of

them yeah so exactly I can so I'm okay with it I still don't think it's functionally that sound it's very dangerous it's extremely dangerous but he seems to do especially for someone who just [ __ ] smashes things with it whenever he has a tanty oh man I [ __ ] love that bit where he's talking to the the the Imperial officer and the guy says something and he just [ __ ] pulls him across the room into his [ __ ] hand and starts choking him I was like wow yeah I like KY Ren yeah he's good he's real like I said just feels more dangerous than Vader ever did because Vader's like calculated whereas Klo Ren's just like [ __ ] chaos yeah and it's like uh a million times better than Count

Dooku yeah exactly God can't in fact I can't remember a single scene in this movie that involved people just sitting at a desk chatting no which in my memory is pretty much what all of the prequels are yeah oh can I say that their plan came together very quickly I really like that they didn't drag yeah we we've we've been here before yeah we know what to do I also one thing I did question was that when they get to Star Killer base and Finn reveals that he was in sanitation and he doesn't actually know anything his plan still worked like yeah so he he did know like yeah I questioned that a little but then I was like don't

worry about it don't too much into it yeah okay now oh po po is great as well oh yes absolutely character I want to see more of him because he wasn't in it too much but he's he's great yeah he's very charismatic because in a way he's the new Han Solo because he's the kind of yeah lovable Rogue but he's also actually a good guy as opposed to an solo who has you know questionable selfish motives they're all very charismatic I think that's the that's what's I think that's what made this overall so good even though even with the shitty dialogue and everything this still had shitty dialog Star Wars yes it did and and it's it's the same as I think they they they did it perfectly with the originals because like uh Harrison Ford and Hamill and K Fisher

they made it work yeah and I think these guys had the same like all of the dialogue even when it was shitty it worked yeah and then yeah I think that's what was missing with definitely some lines that could have been cut here and there that overexplained things that were going on this m is very guilty of that like before Han and Leia had that conversation about how they divorced because their son turned bad I knew they divorced because their son turned bad yeah you you could figure that out yeah I got it yeah they didn't need to have a whole scene where they re-explained it yeah okay so now the reason why I enjoyed it but I don't like it yet yet yes it's because I'm a Star Wars fan go on okay okay now out of the three of us

I'm I I'll say I'm probably the biggest Star Wars fan okay I've read all the books and everything and with the extended Universe which is no longer Cannon and gone MH Yep this is why I'm having trouble liking it there are still some um some books that are Canon the new ones yeah the new ones are coming out but so like cuz star is very big part of my life when I got had cancer when I was young that's about the same time timy NOS came out so that's what I read when I was in hospital throughout like all St so that's it's very close EMP to the Empire and then just from there everything else yeah got me through hospital and cancer so it's all great that's all gone so I've got these characters in my mind I've got Han and wedge and tiles and all these characters

that I've grown up with and love who now don't exist and now I have to watch this new movie with these characters and just have to let go of what I think they are and accept that this is who they are now right I see so this is why I'm struggling to like it at yeah I know I will at the moment I'm just yeah well look uh Han and Le have not said by the way he's an only child so you know he could have his twin sister and then his younger brother exactly yeah except Ben is Luke Skywalker son yes that's right it is a bit weird that Han had a kid and said to L who would you name this after who are your Idols people that I that's right Han would have named it Lando really like I hope he comes back for one of them I know Lando back in

fing I hope he's Finn's [Laughter] father you heard it here first oh and who who was the son of MCE window yeah that's right oh dear yeah no I really enjoyed this and I can't wait to see it I'm going to see it again tomorrow night a there was one other thing I was going to say I can't remember what it was I like that they only have x-wings and Tie fighters now yeah that's right there and is and I mean like the Tie fighters is one type of TIE fighter as far as I've I saw in this film yeah no tie intercepts to be fair I think in the

first film you didn't see a lot of variance either though right and it was only X-Wing y-wing TIE fighter yeah it's almost like in different parts of the Galaxy they've got specific ships and then um uh Jedi they introduced the a-wing and the b-wing and the b-wing right okay well yeah the Rebellion doesn't have any of those anymore um they've just got x-wings why would you just x-wings the best one why would you worry about anything else Fair Point fair point when you are about to steal one you've got to detach it first oh yeah and they're two they're two Cedar Tie fighters now which yeah which is good because they can shoot backwards but it's also convenient for the plot but I like them it's all right let it go Matt

no no no it's it's it's gone yeah it's fine yeah there's not enough wrong with this that I'm actually that's right for every one thing that's marginally bad there's two things that are excellent that just absolutely cancel it out can I say also I was very grateful for how little C3 did yes because he showed up and I laughed yeah and I was like [ __ ] and he's such an irritating [ __ ] and then I was like oh God is he going to be in this more and he and and he just wasn't and he yeah he showed up for a few laughs and then he went away you probably don't recognize me because of the red arm yeah and then lat like I really do have to get a new arm but like how

they're talking already and he just like Steps he's like Han Solo yeah yeah that's but the more and more think about it is I've just seen the original Star Wars again yes it's the same mely is it was he played it very safe yeah with uh that kind of thing he was like oh you like Star Wars here it is y although I will say there was stuff that I didn't expect to see like for example when at the very start when Finn's one of the Storm Troopers and his you I assume friend or the other guy gets shot and he gets the bloody fingerprints down his helmet yes I was like wow like that's that's intense I like that uh I didn't yeah I didn't expect it to go that heavy on that stuff and then again with um when kylo Ren shows up like he

was he was pretty brutal like with the demonstrations of power and whatnot oh the way stopped the Blaster Bol that was cool yes yeah he's like [ __ ] you got the force yeah yeah pretty cool oh yeah that one other thing that I didn't like I'm okay with it because it was necessary was when Rey did finish the fight and then all of a sudden their chasm appeared in between them to prevent her because they like we need to make sure she's not going to kill him how do we how do we end this scene in a way probably would yeah how do we end this in a way where she can't kill him because yeah that's look there were a couple of DSX Maas in this movie like I said I'm okay with it because I

know it was necessary and I loved it so much other than that that it's okay but not if if it had been a bad film man I mean those evil squids if they weren't you it they would never have gotten away from Han's compound either yeah yeah in fact that I mean that whole thing was a little unnecessary anyway yeah um did anyone else get the feeling that Han Solo wasn't originally going to try and bring kler ran back but he was planning to kill him maybe I got that feeling every time that sort of they were talking about him and layers like bring him back I just got felt there was this look where he's yep I'll do that where it just felt like he was actually planning to not bring him back and try and turn him but to kill him yeah

maybe I don't I felt like he was kind of like oh [ __ ] about it like yeah I'll have to say he even said that like maybe maybe he won't be there maybe he'll be out that's right well she even said Carrie Fisher even said like go and talk to him he's like [ __ ] Luke talk to him what can I do uh but there just I I do like the fact that it reminds me so much of the original movies now not the prequels cuz there's there's a good there's a good side resistance and the bad side of New Order there were some government but we just got rid of them which is the same thing that happened in the original Star Wars the emperor desol the Senate this time they destroyed the Republic but they got glossed over a little bit but I was like all right fine they glossed

over it in the original Star Wars as well no I know with alderan blew up and then Le was like no oh well yeah I'm sure this doesn't have any bearing on the political uh climate of the entire galaxy yeah yeah because was I assume it wasn't corant that they blew up but it looked like it someone somebody said it was not it was um some other planet mon mothma's home planet I don't know how they know that it looked a lot like corant to me yeah somebody on Reddit who doesn't know to me it's the Republic and they'll are quite a few planets that were destroyed I I thought it looked a lot like corus to be cor and cuz I wondered if it was symbolic where because of of them destroying the prequels yeah exactly

here's the place most of the prequels took up oh whoops it's completely destroyed not the city Planet yeah I know that's right oh well no more skyscrapers yeah yeah there was a couple of planets wasn't it was like a system a whole system that's a pretty intense weapon yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah guys I just [ __ ] just really liked it like I'm so happy because i' kind of already decided I had to like it anyway you know what I mean and I was excited but then when I got to the cinema I was like what if this sucks because I as well I I wanted to watch it again all day today and that hasn't H that hasn't happened with one of them in a little while no offense but I don't

want to be talking to you guys right now I want to be watching that The Phantom Menace uh I watched a bunch of times in the cinema because trying to make the most of it and then the others I I I only saw her once movies went to the midnight screening and then went yep I've seen it that was it and I I've actually not watched Revenge the Sith again neither I've only seen it once um and I've looked up clips from it to remind myself cuz I told I remember I said that I've rewatched a clip of that the new scene did I say did I tell you this um and when I watched the clip of it on YouTube I was like oh it's not as bad as it was in my head like in my head in the cinema like I was ashamed for the film and that was the best of the three no but then I I found out afterwards

that it was changed for the DVD release oh right because cuz I remember being in the cinema and that and that that no and everyone being like yeah you found a way to ruin it more yeah like it was really bad yeah like so so if you've only seen it on DVD be thankful because yeah it was changed apparently it was worse speaking of really bad and I know this is slightly off topic but I saw the gods of Egypt trailer before Star Wars and if if I thought it looked [ __ ] awful on the little screen I watched it on initially it does not hold up to a cinema screen baffled by that film man oh God it looks awful I saw the trailers

for uh Batman versus Superman okay Captain America Civil War uh X-Men apocalypse and there was one other oh no I thought I was going to see the new Star Trek again but I didn't it was something else uh I'd seen them all already oh uh Independence Day of course oh wow I had far less trailers than that yeah right and you paid a lot less too [ __ ] you yeah I did it was worth every penny of those 8 oh you know what uh you know how Dan you would know from living here every Christmas uh movie es from the from the old landlords this year go class mate oh okay I see playing favorites now and yeah guess what bloody film I'm going to

see at Gold Class is it a is it a film you might have seen already yeah it's probably one I'll probably see it again at reading up the road here before I go to go class [ __ ] Jenna's going tomorrow she's off work yeah qu had tickets to it again today I'm got I'm going Friday night and then I've also got got people from work want to want to take me and yeah okay I've got all this stuff on almost tempted to see it in either IMAX or in 3D oh that's the other thing I I wish I hadn't seen it in 3D I saw it in 3D as well I really wish that it had been 2D because I had to fight against the 3D a couple of times and I feel like I actually think I would have enjoyed it even more if I hadn't had to fight against that you saw 3D I yeah we had to

there was any but the start of it in the 3D I had trouble focusing I had trouble with the darkness figh various points yeah so yeah tomorrow in 2D and then I'll go Gold Class A few times I think can you do gold class in 2D yeah all right good all right well I guess um oh one thing I am so excited for the new Star Wars movies coming out now Rogue one comes out next year I think I don't know I think I'm going to be half as excited like next year Rogue one comes out I'll be like yep go on a seat on the first day and everything but I'm not going to be as excited as when episode eight comes out I found out actually I thought that they were going to do them every Christmas but apparently they're not no

mid it's every second year I think no no no Rogue one comes out uh next December but then episode 8 comes out May 2017 oh wow it's not yeah it's not long between them because because uh it's the anniversary of episode 4 apparently ah yeah it is 20th of May yeah 9 77 30 years wow 30 years 40 years 40 years man 40 years I can't count older than [ __ ] yeah yep but yeah just George this is what you could have done [ __ ] all right don't need to rub it in he doesn't care anymore no he he's just evidently I heard about he did an interview on the red carpet the premiere and he's oh yeah it's a movie what are

you doing now oh I'm just making some little films and there oh anything we'd know about he's no I'm just making them for me my friends and they you know what I'm glad yeah because that's what he wants that's what he said he was always gonna do that's true um I I genuinely hope that he's happy actually I meant to look this up but I that he released a film only in Asia really yeah let me look up see what that is because I genuinely think I I feel bad for him like we joke and stuff and and I do you know joke about it a lot and make fun of him but I do actually feel really bad for him because yeah I mean this is his thing you know to to be the creator of something like this and have it get away from you so badly yeah must be really really painful I

think like he doesn't like Star Wars for the same reason everybody else likes it and Everyone likes it so much for like completely different reasons it's kind of like did you watch indie game the movie uh no not yet that the interview with Jonathan Blow yeah where he talks about how he made braid and then braid came out and people giving it all these great reviews but they were talking about how great it was wrong because they weren't talking about what he thought was good about it they were talking about other things that he was like no no no that's not it's good and he used to go in and argue with people online I think it's a lot like that yeah absolutely I reckon they would get along actually they probably wouldn't they'd hate yeah
