lazy and lucky apparently well no because I still paid my 33 bucks which you're right yeah but that's not where it ends in terms of getting the money I mean I'm sure you guys have read this article here yeah you got a flly it's all a bit mway a little bit pyramid scheme well somebody want to take us through well it seems like they've all been asked to sign or asked they're all forced to sign non-disclosure agreements and this guy's clearly broken his so I don't know what the deal with that is he's no longer in the top 100 well obviously he wouldn't be after this but um his name is Joseph Ro is that is that the Y and he um right 25 that's for you that seems fair

yeah um there's also rumors going around that they instead of the 200,000 people they only got 2,700 yeah that's a very specific number for a rumor well what I've actually heard about that is it was just when the applications actually closed there was only 2,700 videos profiles on the site yeah so they're counting everybody who downloaded the form the first number in which you are included correct and then they just included the people who actually applied in the second number which was considerably less like 1% he said he was they're all supposed to get this interview like a professional interview and I think the idea was that they were going to come and interview them in person um you know

and test them over days and and go through this procedure to make sure they were suitable and he said what actually happened was he was involved in a 10-minute Skype call and then that's the last he heard of them directly and to be clear this guy's not just some Schmo no he's actually like a physicist and an astronomist right yeah yeah he's well he's doctor yeah J like he he entered this because he wants to go to Mars not because he wants to be on a reality TV show yeah yeah well I assume that's the case with most of the people uh certainly not the videos I saw all right okay uh most of the videos I saw were people well if you don't mind Luke people just like Luke who just thought it' be cool to go to Mars yep nothing wrong with that but Luke's not a

this person here um is atsuki she's 51 they're not leaving for 10 years she's not going they're not going though you're not going to you're not sending a 60-year-old there none of them are going yeah I know but you think they to keep the sh going would have like make itable chance to go yeah but look here's the thing Mars One have come out and said said that they need to raise $6 billion to do this now number one $6 billion is a lot of money to raise with shitty Point based systems and $30 application forms right you're not going to make $6 billion secondly actual professionals who make rockets and things for a living have said that you'd need trillions of dollars in order to make a manship to

Mars yeah I I was actually listen to an interview today and what they were saying was yes um it would cost a lot more but the NASA and everything they're looking at the return trip as well the reason why they're so cheap is we're just firing you that way and good luck it's like jet star is that all though is that the only reason or is it that they just picked this arbitrary High sounding number that's actually just not high enough well they still say it is doable and they're still pushing ahead with it so they must be it's a bit like jet star as well in that they don't take you all the way to Mars they just kind of drop you off nearby and then you have to catch a shuttle bus the rest of the way or in this case just a shuttle yes

just yeah it's so true it's so true a Tiger Airways is the same yeah you just get taken to a shed near the airport that's right yeah this is this is our fieldway yeah airport here's the thing though um apparently the marsan project had planned to make a lot of its budget by selling the TV rights and they' had a TV network lined up who has since pulled out oh and so not only are they not have a reality like the whole idea is they're going to sell this reality television show which would make a lot of money yeah that was going to they want the television show to pay first yeah and they're not no one's paying until they get there no that's right yeah because No One Believes they're going no you know why because they're not going

like I'll put money on this right now that they don't go even in 10 years you can record this well it's being recorded obviously you could show this to me again in 10 years and I guarantee I'll be going see I was right they didn't go to Mars yeah don't get me wrong I hope they do but they won't yeah yeah it's all very strange like it's such a high-profile scam if it is a scam but like it's one of those things where like you can't prove they're not going to go really like I mean eventually you'll be able to prove that they didn't but well not if they just keep saying yeah we're still working on it I mean this is like those kickstarters that we criticize all the time that raise a whole bunch of money and then go oh it turns out it costs

more than that sorry guys but thanks for the cash yeah like could we do this could we just say yeah we're we're the Mars 2 project can we register Mars 2.com tell everyone they have to enter and it's $30 for the application form yeah as soon as the first mission is successful we'll proceed with ours we are going to chase Mars one yeah we're going to build upon the shoulders of those giants literally we're going to build a rocket on the outside of their rocket so when it takes off ipof facto we take off too we're going to sit in a wheelie bin and I'm going to use my bike chain to attach it to the rocket and then we're going to Mars and then we're going to ha hands so we don't DFT off into space not in a gay way no not in a

child she kidnapped her own son so he wouldn't get his dick cut off mother of the [ __ ] year followed closely by our listeners friend who circumcised a kid so that we'll get better [ __ ] she will only avoid jail on a contempt charge if she signs the paperwork necessary to schedule the procedure that she initially agreed to no way surely that's an like I Luke absolutely hit the nail on the head last week when he said [ __ ] the law who look I don't want to cut bits off a kid as much as the next guy but a contract is a contract well I guess the point the problem is I do agree sort of

but then on the other hand it can't really be like that like you kind of do need to just kind of go by the rules in a lot of cases cuz you know like otherwise come across this quite a lot where someone will agree to something and then they'll just change the by now I don't really want to do that there has you have to be able to go this piece of Pap if the judge if the judge says you know what ah let him keep his dick and then for some reason there's an issue like later that could come back on him but there should be there should be a statue of limitation on how long that original one last for yes but apparently yeah have to wait 4 years I don't know I couldn't find about that neither where'd she flee to don't

Factory that burnt down yeah so more than 150 Chicago firefighters were called to fight Flames at a building housing one of the Department's closest allies a fire extinguisher Factory wow so just goes to show 150 firefighters is a lot yeah you know they come around to work and they check that we've got those things but it just doesn't matter it's you can useless it doesn't matter how many you've got in the building I mean come on or maybe they you know maybe they don't fill the the fire extinguishes maybe they won't ready to go or something but but you know how like if you had say A dynamite Factory right yeah or let's take it down a notch say had a fireworks Factory mhm if it caught fire then the fireworks would all

just start going off making it more of a fire right right surely the building would be burning but anytime fire got near a fire extinguisher that particular little bit of fire would just go out right when you mean if it like exploded and I mean I'm no does that have any effect but they just maybe making have no idea things and they get filled elsewhere maybe yeah that's what I wondered but it doesn't yeah they really make they really make them in two separate locations that seems a bit the fact that they don't mention this that like they don't mention that at all makes me think that probably is the case you're right because I mean the the headline in this article was something about horrible fire it was

nothing about very definition and personification of irony so yeah there probably is something about this that makes it less interesting than we've made it yeah it's just yeah it's very funny headline though no I can't yeah I'm just trying to read through all it's got here um a portion of the building which firi said how house a forign extinguisher manufacturing business collapsed as a result of intense fire no injuries so that's good that's good to know yeah I mean if it hadn't been a fire exp Factory maybe everyone would have died yeah we don't know how bad this could have been exactly and then also I mean it's a bit cold over over the states this time of year so that's probably a factor especially in the windy

city well fire likes wind is it going to be a shortage of fire extinguishers now oh H maybe that's its plan the fire has a plan yeah terrifying well I would like to talk about one other thing that I saw today uh and this is another case where I'm I'm I'm going to ask Luke for his opinion on how he would handle this um now we a lot of kids these days have phones very early we I didn't get a phone till I was quite old I had to get you know I bought my own pH I was 20 yeah yeah I was I think I was maybe 18 or 19 I bought it myself yeah um but you know kids these days they get they get

iPhones um very early and that you know we've seen I'm sure on the podcast before uh they tend to throw a tantrum if they don't get an iPhone it's they're not interested in in Android or or anything although maybe that's changed you know with the Samsungs and whatnot but they they're very attached to their iPhones and one young girl in particular um seems so attached to her iPhone that she was willing to murder her mother to get it back so um she had confiscated the phone um and she thought they were addicted you know so they phone of them and then well she noticed uh in her smoothie that she she had

made uh she was drinking a smoothie one day I just like hearing Matt say the word smoothie she was drinking her smoothie and she noticed a bleachy smell like like bleach and she thought oh that's odd maybe the glass just you know was just cleaned and uh you know it's it's got a bit of a smell about it but then she started to feel ill which eventually passed but then a few days later there was a a water car am I saying that right kff I just have bottles a kff yeah I don't know what kind of Posh [ __ ] has a kff of water in her house but wow the kind of Posh [ __ ] that buys a two teenage daughter iphon yeah um noticed that the water caraffe in her room smelled of bleach as well so

she confronted her daughter and who told her yeah I'm trying to kill you so I get my phone back I love it these two like stealthy attempts at poisoning and then just comes out with it yeah obviously I am attempting to murder you so that seems a bit extreme to me I mean yeah y but then again like I said I didn't have an iPhone when I was young maybe I would have been very attached to it but no but I I thought about uh I thought about this scenario and I tried to find an equivalent to when I was a a child and I remember that I was seriously excited for Karate Kid Part Two to be released

on VHS Karate Kid was my favorite film at the time I was studying karate because I wanted to be just like Daniel son I insisted everyone call me Daniel Son um and I was very very psyched about the second film now I can't remember what I did but it must have been awful because during theek that it was released at the video store my mom punished me by disallowing me to see Karate Kid 2 my God and I was lied and I remember Bing my eyes out and begging my mom to reconsider but as anyone who knows or knew my mom can tell you she she didn't make threats she she made promises so um so you were not going to see that mie you still haven't seen still haven't seen it I have got no

idea what happens no I there was a certain embargo time on it it was it was a week or a month or something but uh it was Agony it was absolute agony especially since all the kids at school were talking about how great Karate Kid 2 was how much better than Karate Kid 1 it was is that the one where he goes to Japan and he learns to fight like a little drum yeah yeah hour great mov learn is a great movie yeah he wants to yeah and he get he does a Japanese tea ceremony yeah that's right and he swings the crane at him the the the py thing at him yeah yep classic watch that after this I really want to watch that now too in fact I think I went I think I saw that at the movies when it came out actually well [ __ ] you because I wasn't allowed so I'm trying to think I mean I

was very angry at my mom and I was embarrassed at school not being able to talk about it in fact I think I even went as far as pretending I had seen it H yeah so nobody could accuse me of not having that's something a child would do did you did you try and poison her but I didn't try to kill her no with poison or any other method interesting well Luke okay let's just say all right I've worked out what I would do I wouldn't just take the iPhone I would also sell the iPhone so she couldn't have it I mean how would you murder your all you've had your iPhone taken and you want revenge I assume you know the bleach isn't going to foer so what do you do yeah you don't put bleach in and then you don't admit

it after Adit it just like yeah I'm trying to kill you that's you better off to actually not try to kill because I don't know at the age of 12 my mother did a lot for me didn't it just Supply me with phones she provided me with food somewhere to sleep all these stuff do I think killing her might take away from that so I would actually try to get renge on her would maybe just try to get a new phone from somewhere else how hard is it to get a phone now you can buy him for 50 bucks you can bypass the um the M man is what you're saying right I know it's not really telling someone how to commit a crime but no cuz you basically just said she should get a black market phone no I'm she can go and buy one like you can buy not an iPhone an iPhone is

someone want to run me through that because uh it it's interesting but I feel like there making a big deal out of it but also trying to pretend that they're not making a big deal out of yeah I think anytime anyone comes out and goes not that we're making a big deal out of this but uh somebody's gay and uh we don't care so you know we're not going to we're going talk about it in the media yeah like to come out and announce it is you mean it's you think it's a deal if you didn't you would have just written this book and yeah cuz the book's not even released yet so just to clarify this is um part of the million books that are coming out this year of the um Star Wars Star Wars kind of now

rebooted the universe type of thing yeah canonical reboot and there's a character who is a Jedi is she I believe there an imperial right an imperial named Moores and uh she's described in the book as quote an imper made some very serious mistakes who happens also be a lesbian yeah look I mean I I really hate the phrase also happens to be a lesbian but um in the same way as I mean you wouldn't you wouldn't say that someone just happens to be black would you no probably not so look I mean I definitely don't have a problem with the fact that there's a as you have to say now lgbtqi car character in Star Wars mhm because I don't give a [ __ ] Star Wars

isn't about sex or sexuality or even gender really I mean kind of is and there's only like three women in the Galaxy but you know I mean it never really came into it I wasn't I wasn't watching Star Wars as a kid going I wonder if any of these characters are gay no and to to shoehorn a gay character in and not just make that part of the story but to have to actually point out in the text by the way she's a lesbian yeah well this is the thing about it is is this is the first Star Wars character that's being introduced into cannon that is lesbian yeah there's been other in before everything was kicked out like n Republic and the legacies of force novels there were gay characters which no one made a deal about they were just in there as part of it and that everyone

just moved on that now they've come out with the new one they gone by saying it's not a deal they're making it a deal and I don't know yeah because they said um that in the in the press release they said at the same time oh you know we just didn't really think it was a big deal so we just made a lesbian you know cuz really who cares cuz people can be whatever they want um so why is there a press release about you don't need to announce that like the book's not even out yeah if this was a if people were discussing this after the book came out so be it people making their if you didn't think it was a big deal you wouldn't have felt it was worth announcing yeah so and again like I think it's great but they're being a bit disingenuous about it and also yeah it's

not it's not here's the thing though you can't really win and we've discussed this on the podcast before what's worse shoehorning in a minority character so that they're represented or completely having your Universe be void of minorities I think it's sort of even okay to actually even put the character in and even have to shoot haunt a bit but you don't need to announce it you don't need to look we're being nice we're being good to this demographic no yeah that's what it is isn't it it's like look how great we are we put a lesbian in Star Wars yeah I know I mean yeah it's like it's like the female Thor it's just designed to get the points black Spider-Man which I love when the headline for Spider-Man came out earlier this year it was Spider-Man may not be

white and I think that was just their way of not having to say may be black and offending someone but somehow that just sounds worse like he's not white like the only color you should ever be no this is where I think like they need to stop making these big announcements like that and then just it just gets released and that's how it is yeah yeah exactly and then let the people get you know if they want to make a big deal out of it let them do it just ignore like cuz that's the only way you should deal with anything like that just don't put it into literature Comics movies and all that but don't announce that hey look what we're doing yeah I just don't cuz like I said I wasn't there was a while ago when they there was a whole big kafuffle about the knights the old Republic's uh admin on

the Forum saying stop talking about gays there are no gays in Star Wars and this was an unofficial forum and everyone was like are you [ __ ] serious yeah and like this guy uh represented BioWare at the time I think and it caused a big stink so I'd say this is probably because of the bad vibes that that generated but really I mean did you guys even know that that had happened only because years years ago no I remember when it happened but only because I think I discussed it with you yeah probably I mean it's not general knowledge so was that the M like you said yeah yeah yeah yeah was that the same Star Wars MMO where there was a protest and everyone marched on sub square and corusant so they sent the troops in and just massacred all the

peaceful protesters there was that was different that was galaxies and they um they also teleported them into space but to be fair because we're crashing the servers right yeah that's right they said look you're causing like issues the game is now on playable for other people and if you don't disperse yeah exactly so they just teleported them all into orbit and killed them so I like this commenter um on this article has said um I think it's great they're including a lesbian character but moth Moos you kidding me I can already hear the jokes moth diving yeah should have just made her a Wookie lesbian and named a chew boxer I'd watch that yeah look speaking of

gays um did you guys read this weird [ __ ] that James Franco came out with this week I didn't I just saw it in the spreadsheet earlier yeah so um look there's been gay rumors surrounding just about every Hollywood actor you know and James Frank was not immune to that and um apparently he acts a little little camp in real life I didn't know that apparently he does according to the internet and so he questions about his sexuality have constantly come up he has now finally uh come out and publicly given this statement he admits that he's gay in his art and he says quote I like to

think that I'm gay in my art but straight in my life although I'm also gay in my life up to the point of intercourse and then you'd have to say I'm straight so I guess it's how you define gay I mean if it means who you have sex with then I guess I'm straight so it does and you are by the sounds of it I like this quote though in the 20s and 30s they used to define homosexuality by how you acted and not by who you slept with Sailors had [ __ ] guys all the time but as long as behaved in masculine ways they weren't considered gay I think they were yeah yeah he's got to be like it's got to be a joke right he's just being

funny or not I don't know I don't know isn't he just a goofy guy like cuz I mean really who cares like isn't that yeah but see this is the thing I wouldn't have even considered this like this wasn't even head until he came out and did a [ __ ] press conference about it yeah I know but if people are hassling him about it I mean this this is a pretty good way to say [ __ ] off yeah like cuz I mean really who cares if he's gay like yeah exactly right doesn't matter he's a handsome man he can do what he wants and who he wants who he wants I mean if he was ugly that would be a problem yeah but there are no ugly gays like gays are very handsome no no that's true I mean you couldn't be gay and ugly because it just wouldn't work yeah exactly yeah not when James Franco

like laptop computers and and you know notes and things in they they find ways to get them in there despite security measures right because they're trying to crack down on this stuff because you know there there are a lot of people there and if you don't do well in school you're [ __ ] I think is basically how it works sure so they're taking Extreme Measures to cheat now um now from what I understand and there's some video footage of of this happening student advisors uh so I guess people involved at the school or um or something like that when the students go for the exam the advisers are grabbing the exam and then you know like uh smuggling it out and then I guess giving it to the parents and then if you watch the video footage the parents literally scale the

side of the building like three stories to pass no not through to their children while they're in the exam and it would be weird if just one person's parents did this but the footage shows dozens of parents climbing up the side of the school I want to know why they thought that wouldn't be noticed you know I know I mean this might be true and that but the only thing I could think cuz I mean the the text of the article is obviously in English but the the video that's here is not and I was like is this a parody is this like nonsense and I'm being fooled here like surely that's not what's happening in this video like that is madness yeah like but then on the other hand I mean for what I from what I understand I mean they are very intense

know I don't think we talked about this and we can look in the show notes I'm not going to go over the whole thing but did you see that interview with him recently I think I I can't I sent it around it was they've got a new album out the Smashing yeah and it was basically the the the whole interview is basically how everyone's just [ __ ] [ __ ] because there's no way that he's ever made a three star album they're all five stars but everyone every review for every album he always gets three stars and he's it's basically him sitting there going [ __ ] off you [ __ ] tell me to my face that it's a three star album like that's the basically the whole interview wow like um he's like got such a chip on his I'll say this if you took the two

best tracks from everyone of the Smashing Pumpkins albums and put them on one album that would be a fstar album but I do tend to agree that most of their albums as a whole three stars yeah I mean melany was I mean it's songs but it's a double disc filler I know it's got like 50 of the [ __ ] things like they're not all good and you can't really I mean he's right in that he was very like he he's been very influential and like he's very well known and well I know he was still do things though for like like everyone in our generation like knows the pumpkins I know anyone who dislikes them they just kind I love the pumpkins yeah but they're not I know had a new album are we talking original lineup no no no it's just original

member now is he well I mean he's had several other bands Juan in the meantime he's had solo stuff and I do remember when I was working at the record store um my manager went to see his solo G he did two nights in a row one at a big stadium and the next night was like an intimate guests only thing solo Billy Corgan sorry William Coran and um everyone kept shouting out you know when when singers sing a song and then in between the songs and that silence you yell out what song you want to play next like there isn't already a set list well yeah people kept yelling out Smashing Pumpkin songs because that's why people know Billy Corgan and that's what they [ __ ] like from his and he kept saying [ __ ] sing another [ __ ] well yell out another [ __ ] Smashing

Pumpkin song and I'm walking off walking off and um such a cry somebody yelled out again 19 79 and he walked off he stopped the concert and he walked off but not before saying tonight I'm up here on this big stage and I can't get down there but tomorrow at the intimate gig that's in the round if any of you [ __ ] yells out a Smashing Pumpkin song I'm just going to get down and punch him in the [ __ ] face please tell me someone did it and he did I wish he did and I wish no look this is just clearly a guy who doesn't understand why he's popular no well this interview is basically he's he talks about how he stopped doing pumpkins because he felt he wasn't getting the credit he deserved right right he kept he he was he was putting out all this

[ __ ] a grade five-star material and he just wasn't getting the reviews and the guy was like but you have all these fans what are the reviews matter he's like you don't understand you just don't understand I didn't get the credit I didn't get the credit you don't understand so he walked away so he walked away from it right and then he said that he he decided it was time and he was going to come back and he was going to make another pumpkins album and this was going to be it and they were finally going to be forced to admit that he is he's the best and he was he was going to get five star reviews and it came out and it got the same you know just middling reviews as everything else and he was like [ __ ] you nobody understands me yeah so we'll

link to the article it's it's pretty entertaining right he he's just he's just a bit crazy obviously he also he talks us the interviewer tries to get him to talk about crazier things like he's really into astrology and stuff and like cuz he goes are you still into asy and Billy C goes are you into astrology and the guy's like not really he goes why the [ __ ] am I going to talk to you about it wow I mean you could say that about any Topic in an interview you know what I mean um so you're a musician are you a musician no I'm a journalist then why the [ __ ] would I talk about being a musician you yeah it's a great interview it's very entertaining everything Corgan does is entertaining trueth um I uh over the last week and a

bit I think finally listened to a podcast that a lot of people told me I should listen to including me including you you were very very vocal in your uh endorsement although I will admit Matt I was secretly really worried that you were going to decide to hate this why oh we're talking about cereal CU sometimes it's easy to hate something just because it's popular not you personally but just once you've heard all the hype it it can be once you see something can be a bit like uh you guys are dicks for even liking this in the first place and I really wanted you to watch this with an open mind or listen to it rather with an open mind yeah because I really did think this is a kind of True Crime [ __ ] that you would

dig yeah no absolutely I did it was it was fascinating I don't I mean I I found a lot of people seem to have taken different things from it than than I did uh which is fine um but also there are a bunch of people who have seem to agree with me on on you know it's uh it's a podcast for those who don't know and everybody I recommend everybody listen to it because it's really really interesting there was a a girl uh she was uh 18 she 18 yeah I think they were all 18 yeah uh in Baltimore in the US uh and she was murdered um after school one day uh well went missing for months and then they found her body months later

and um they after investigating and they had no leads until eventually they were led to her ex-boyfriend a guy named Adnan Sayed um who is in prison now and has been for 15 years for the murder um and the premise the reason for the podcast is uh friends of him his believed him to be innocent and they believed that uh his attorney botched the case and that for you know various other reasons that there there's a lot of things that don't add up and the case against him wasn't very strong but it was just you know like a you know it went a bad way in court and now he's he's in prison um wrongfully convicted and it basically proceeds from that premise and attempts to prove one

way or another um if it's not if he did it basically um and they present uh evidence every week uh it's it's fairly impartial I think does a pretty good job of being impartial although sometimes she flips back and forth in her opinions so I guess that's impartial yeah and I mean it's one of those things I I mean I just listened to it I didn't look up anything on the internet I just because I knew that I have a lot of questions about things that I wasn't sure if she was going to cover them but I wanted to give her give them a chance to do it um I did the same I held out and then the day it finished I was on Reddit yeah

because I still had a lot of questions about various things and since I listened to it I've I've discovered that there's things that she didn't talk about or things that whether intentionally or otherwise she left out that I think are kind of important and um yeah I mean it's interesting I mean how do we want to do we want to spoil things or how do we want to handle this look I think it's what do you think of this cuz I I would love to discuss this with you okay I think but I think we can either I mean we we'd be tiptoeing around it or giving out absolute spoilers let's do a special edition episode a short 25 minute episode or something at some point where we just deconstruct Cal all right sure we wouldn't we wouldn't be the only podcast

to do that as well as listening to serial I also subscribe to no less than three other podcasts that discussed serial I you to know Matt that I listened to these when there was only one actually there were up to episode 2 when I joined in of 12 so I had to wait a week between every episode so [ __ ] you for being able to binge on these because I would literally be refreshing my iTunes feed on Thursday afternoons I didn't quite binge because Jenner and I listen to it together and there's only uh there's always one day a week we we that's right subcribe male kimp kimp yeah um no don't do that sorry

I was try those don't stream it Luke's still working at his new phone um where was I and who killed her and what's a Best Buy I like that video and she searches on Best Buy for pay for there's no results she's like damn it yeah yeah um I mean we'll talk about it more on on our special then I guess but can I just ask do you think he did it look I don't know if he did it but if he didn't he knows who did and he's lying about something whether he's lying about whether or not he did it or whether or not he knows who did it he's [ __ ] lying and by lying I mean he's not saying anything like look I I agree that you could forget some details of a certain afternoon if nothing happened that day but ask me about a day where

something significant happened and I'll tell you everything that happened that day yeah like yeah the fact that he's just like no man I don't remember what happened that day and they're like well we know you here here and here because of this evidence this evidence and this evidence he's like no don't know anything about that yeah like I'm not saying he's a killer but he knows more about it than he's letting on and I think the same the same goes for Jay yeah I think so too I think uh one of the things that um see I've seen a lot of people say I can't believe he was convicted I can't believe he was convicted well I can because that's how it work there was there was quite a lot of evidence look

look I do have a theory of whether or not I think he did it but um let's discuss that on the special edition yeah yep totally and Luke if you've um if you listen to it and you want to get into it then we can include you on the special edition if you listen to it and think it's not worth it then I can do well well he could be on anyway and he could just ask question make sure because the thing is the danger with this is that's what I was thinking just when we were going to talk about it the danger is and we've probably already done it we've mentioned things and people are going to go what the [ __ ] are they talking about because that's what we do this one and only listen to it if you've seen cereal yeah okay sure we I was say l Luke could

probably call us on that because he'd be like what are you talking about yeah well that's cool that's fine well that that could work as well but I reckon we don't put this out as a normal episode we just go here's an additional episode bonus episode yeah okay sounds good cool sounds good all right well and on another note um related I also re-watched I think just because it got me in the mood for it I rewatched um Paradise L which is the documentary about the West Memphis 3 they very similar cases aren't they yeah yeah yeah um I recommend anybody who was interested in serial um check that out as well it's a documentary from HBO made in the '90s about um if you don't know who they are it's three uh three kids in West Memphis who were convicted of the

murder of three little boys um and why does just the phrase little boys sound dirty when Matt says it well I mean it was pretty dirty what happened so yeah it's a great documentary I mean it's it's absolutely frustrating case yeah um yeah and this documentary spawned two additional documentaries after it that yeah it's got two two direct sequels by the same people and then countless other yeah like not spin-offs but yeah and then there was a there was a big there's actually a big documentary called west of Memphis which covers the whole story but I and I mean if you've only got time to watch one watch that because it covers everything but I really feel like

if you watch Paradise Lost one two and three you get more of the story and you you get cuz you get to see it in the stages that it occurred just another example of everyone deciding we need trilogies yeah that's right well cuz they film the original one they filmed in the '90s during the court case and it's got actual all the footage from the the not all the footage but it's got footage from from inside the courtroom and everything you can see it as it happened and then the second one is like a follow up from like 10 years later and then the third one is another followup from from you know approximately 15 years after that and so I don't know I just feel like they told the story um in a kind of more compelling way because you know when the first one

came out they didn't have all the information they had for the second one and so when you see the second one and it's more of a oh my God like and if you've never heard of this and you're wondering why this is interesting at all the concept is basically it was a small town in Middle America and there was absolutely no evidence against these kids other than the fact that they were Goths and so they must have done it hea and and and they they coerced a confession out of a mentally challenged kid yeah basically yeah not good yeah anyway yeah definitely I would say check that out if you're into to mentally challenge kids and young boys thank you for listening that's all for this week thank
