welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt it's all bit hearty so I don't really understand it Luke is that a little sashwat penis Dan I accidentally got soap in my urethra and occasionally Terry smallo maybe you wake up in the middle of the night with a little sashwat pis inside of you multiple nerdgasm your guide to all things nerdy I'm back obviously good day Matt you uh survived back the beach you get a tan i' got a little bit of a thong line on my uh on my foot so I should clarify before before anyone in in America freaks out I mean what we call Flip Flops everywhere else in the world flip flops I don't have a thong line as you

might think of it I don't want to freak anybody out no that's it's exactly what I was imagining the fact we call what everyone else calls flip-flops thongs has gotten me into trouble a couple of times here because they don't know what that's called did I tell you the story about when I was talking about kind of casual wear in the office back home no and I'm like you know they don't really care like you know girls can walk around in their thongs and nobody's going to say anything and everyone's like what oh that's great yeah I don't know why is that cuz we we're just a pain in the ass down here yeah we just changed it I guess yeah where where did it even come from I don't know but in our defense I'm pretty sure you could get flipflops before you could get g-strings

right I have no idea definitely well definitely I I've seen Jesus Christ wearing sandals you know I've never seen him wear a g string yeah yeah I'm thongs was the correct term was were were around way before Juice drinks yeah Dan I know you're Googling and I know you're going to you're going to find it oh goodness you know you are well there's a few different things the internet yeah the internet you bound to find it all right enough of that let's talk about Batman versus Superman we've all seen it yeah do we want to go around just start off with saying whether or not we liked it Okay who wants to who wants to go first I I saw it last so I'll go first okay okay it was terrible just absolutely

terrible the ending of that movie are we going to could have I pck there's going to be spoilers but this isn't a spoiler I picked about five different times that movie should have ended but it just kept going and going all right we'll get to the specifics of what we liked and didn't like let's just let's just keep going around the circle Matt do you want to go next or do you want me to go next uh you can go next we'll go in descending order of having seen it just look I don't know if this is going to surprise anyone but I [ __ ] loved this movie what it's not perfect and there's lots about it that I didn't like but the amount I did like it made up for that like I felt like I was 10 years old watching this movie to me this is 100 times better than any of those like 10y

year Marvel movies that we get now really yeah this was just superheroes being superheroes so shocked to he I will criticize all the all the shitty bits and there were they were but I just thought it it was just such a look it wasn't about plot it was about theme you know like the theme of man versus God and all of that stuff and I just found that really interesting they haven't done that in a movie like this before interesting okay I I'll give you my list of things I hated about it too but that's my overall stance well I I was fairly we we as you may have heard Jenner and I recorded uh Impressions after the screening we got we're lucky enough to get invited to a

preview screening thank you Road Show Australia and I recorded like straight after afterwards spoiler-free uh and I was fairly like just meh about it see I thought you were quite I thought you were quite positive about it especially compared to Jenna in your review well now having kind of thought about it more and discussed it a little bit with people I'm definitely on the I'm leaning more towards dislike MH M um I think I was maybe yeah I don't know I feel very much the same as I feel about his other movies Zack Snider I mean yeah so we can get into that a bit too if you like yeah but yeah I'm I'm on the I'm on the if the if you know just neutral is in the

middle I'm on the negative side of that yeah yeah I didn't hate it okay I had a feeling I was the only one who liked it I'll watch it I would watch it again I didn't hate it yeah it's it's not doing well uh critically but it is doing well man still making the money yeah it's [ __ ] raking it in yeah always going to do in other words it's actually beaten every other comic book movie ever at the box office yeah yeah not if you just not if you were just for inflation though I think if you adjusted for inflation Superman the movie from the 70s uh would make like a billion dollars today this is why I still say think they should go off ticket sales not the money yeah I know number well they always do this every every year there will be a new highest selling movie because

everything costs more every year that's just how how everything works same with like it annoys me when they do that and also when they do video games like Call of Duty sold more than any other film yeah it also costs 10 times as much yeah does to see a film so shush yeah yeah that's right like yeah so are we going to go spoilers on this um I think there's been a couple of weeks you've you've had your chance to go and see it if if you haven't seen it yet you clearly don't care yeah it's going to be difficult to dissect what we liked and didn't like without spoilers well especially since I'm I'm sure one of the two main things we all didn't like comes right at the end sure yeah yeah but yes we will talk about spoilers um we'll try and put in the show notes um the point

where you can skip forward to yeah if you don't want to if you don't want to be spoiled on the movie I spoil stuff pretty quickly so yeah yeah okay spoilers from now then do we have a spoiler do we have a spoiler alert jingle um maybe we should I have one that for necronom uh W for the other the other podcast that I do L we see where your [ __ ] loyalty lies man do you want me to use that spoiler one no I don't no well here it is anyway it's time for some [Music] spoilers that still works um but seriously we're going to talk about spoilers so if you haven't watched this movie yet turn the podcast off now there you go yeah yeah all right Bruce Wayne is

Batman I think Dan's head just exploded all right yeah so man where do you want to start like I don't there's quite a lot here to discuss if we want to look I'm not going to be an apologist for this movie okay because I know this is you know it's not going to win any Academy Awards right so I mean I'm I'm happy for us to start off by just getting it out of the way putting all the stuff out there we didn't like look I really like Let's do let's do things we did like first okay I really liked Ben Affleck as Batman agreed yeah I think he did it great except for the fact when did Batman start killing people yeah in the comics is that that's not his fault and also in

the Michael Keaton movie kills dozens of people yeah yeah no I I don't have any problems with killing people I know people do I don't care like that's fine whatever [ __ ] off I do I feel like it's a little hypocritical of Superman to be getting up his ass about you know branding people and killing people or whatever when Superman's flying around knocking [ __ ] buildings over on people I actually feel a bit hypocritical of both their parts yeah I agree I I think that is one of the biggest flaws in this is that everybody's motivation is a bit Yeah but I don't that doesn't bother me because I thought the kind of relationship that they had was that they were blinded to their own flaws and they could only see them reflected in each other which is

why they hated each other so much for really no reason sure okay um I really did not like Superman in this movie I'm not thought caval was is is fine as Superman like I mean it's not his fault unless unless unless not you find Superman boring yeah unless he played Superman this way you know ignoring the script which had Superman be a little bit different but it's just Superman was just a it's [ __ ] whiny like H [ __ ] got to save people again I guess like even when they show him being a hero it's like this depressing [ __ ] door that he's got to perform like it's just I don't know and then the the one scene where he could be

a hero and save people like normal everyday people when the bomb goes off in [ __ ] Congress that's and he's just standing there going and I've seen him move pretty fast before too like yeah you know he got to Africa pretty quick he's just standing there feeling sorry for himself I was like [ __ ] this isn't Superman and I I don't I again I shouldn't that's not really fair because it doesn't matter what Superman is because Man of Steel established that he's different in this series and he was different in this movie so it shouldn't really matter so I guess that's not a fair criticism but I didn't like him as a character yeah Wonder Woman I thought was great oh my God she was fantastic she was but she didn't do much well she was only in

there to set up for her own movie but galad do [ __ ] smashed it man yeah sure sure I thought she was she was interesting and they didn't go over the top with her like I was waiting for like a ah you know chick that kicks ass and I'm glad they didn't go down that route he's just a competent competent fighter and investigator if you will yeah that's one thing I think that investigated I think Batman wasn't really a detective in this one he was more than he usually is remember when he got the Kryptonite and then he did his workout scene while Alfred worked on it for him I thought that was a bit strange JY is [ __ ] great so good and and as far as I can tell he's not a butler cuz I saw Bruce Wayne bringing him a coffee and then I saw Alfred doing all this rad

[ __ ] and that is so good yeah [ __ ] Jeremy L is great I I will watch the [ __ ] out of the Standalone Batman mie they make as long as I mean we can talk about this when we get into the stuff we don't like I didn't like the action in this movie at all and it includes a lot of the Batman stuff we can talk about that in a bit yeah um well you've heard that it's with the Batman movie that Affleck wants to ride it himself yeah I know Zack Snider is not directing apparently Zack Snider is doing Justice League one and two m that's my understanding also apparently Affleck has written a script but there's no guarantee that that's the script they're going to go with cuz I bet it's [ __ ] he's only signed on to do the Justice League movies so he hasn't

signed on to do a separate Standalone movie yeah surely they'll do and I think he's trying to go look I'll do it as long as we do this script yeah yeah well that would be interesting because I I like Affleck as a director probably better than as an actor so I'd see that yeah all right I I would I would watch it we're going to go see no matter what they put out let's let's face it this is why they're still making a half a billion dollars off us for a movie that's not getting great reviews I um uh what else did I like um I don't know I liked the first half of the movie more than I liked the second half which is apparently not what a lot of people say I think

that's exactly my feeling I well it seemed to me like online people were saying oh it was slow but then it got really awesome at the end and I was like really it all don't listen to 14-year-old kids on the internet no man I thought that opening where it overlapped with the other movie but you saw it from Bruce Wayne's point of view was a [ __ ] great way to start yeah I liked that a lot I liked um I people complain about this too because they already know where Batman came from I don't care it was good they covered it in the opening credits and got it out of the way and it was cool good like like you know I think it was a nice like cuz it is a new Batman so they weren't going to go back and do a whole origin story they just went yeah here they never

going to not explain it just in case you know what I mean and also it's set up my least favorite thing about this film so well we can talk we talk about that later well we can talk about that now if you want to segue into that all right well my least favorite thing in this film yeah is when Batman is about to kill Superman cuz he established that he [ __ ] hates this guy and thinks he has to die and he's devoted his entire life he's turned into an evil Twisted human being because he's obsessed with murdering Superman and he's about to kill him and then he's like Mara why did you say Mara and then Lois Lane runs and he goes Martha is his mommy's name five let's name I love you bit of a coincidence isn't it I mean if

it wasn't imagine it wasn't his mom's name oh Carrie's going to die I don't know who that is don't give a [ __ ] that was so dumb and also he shouldn't have mattered he should have been like that's a weird coincidence die yeah I don't understand like from that there's no real end to their conflict it's just okay so our mothers had the same name so we're going to work together now plus was he confused and he be like [ __ ] is my long dead mom in trouble that's right it was like yeah I probably Martha before we saw the film right there was a bunch of trivia at the screening up on beforehand like you know just Batman and Superman trivia and one of the questions two of the questions were what are the names of the parents

of of the individuals and um obviously Superman's was a trick question because his parents are Lara and Dell derell yeah but um you know some of the people were with were like oh isn't it you know Martha and Jonathan Kent and then Ben O'Brien from big head mode said huh hey wait their mothers have the same name why aren they just friends and and so when I think that when that happened in the film we all just started laughing yeah which I think maybe that's what ruined it so much but now everyone else seems to say the same thing it's ridiculous right not a good plot Point not a good plot point no like it just it doesn't make any sense they didn't know how to make that sort of fight between them end and make them work together so they just we'll just go with this but JP

through such [ __ ] Hoops to make it so that they fight at all it took like an hour and a half of movie just to set up this ridiculous scenario where all right Superman's not going to kill him but they are going to fight like doesn't it's just I don't know so contrived one of the parts I found the worst in the movie was actually the time travel part bit odd wasn't it middle of the movie where yeah who who is it that comes back from the future it's flash apparently FL Flash comes back gives him this warning yeah but then and then he wakes up and it's a Dream It's s of like no you either have that in the movie or you don't that's not a dream it's weird it doesn't make any sense yeah that was odd that was odd and they I know they're setting up to explain something and tie

in with another movie at some point but at the moment it just is completely out of place and makes no sense get to see Steam in a [ __ ] trench coat yeah but that didn't that was pointless as well see I thought that that was just like if they had explained all that in this movie I would have been disappointed I'm glad that there's a lot to this mythology that they kind of hinting at and just saying like we're World building here like well that's that's supposed to be what happens if Superman's a [ __ ] right yeah but he's not he's just a wingy [ __ ] so you know I don't I don't know it's like it was Batman's nightmare of what could happen and it explained why he thought he should kill him but then he and he didn't it's like I don't know it's a little bit weird

yeah yeah and the other thing I really didn't like was Lex Luther oh Christ the worst the worst but you know what I how that happened thinking like what a weak performance and then all the reviews I've listened to during the week like all the nerd boys are just [ __ ] praising him man and I don't get it what cuz that I thought was the weakest part of the whole film it's like he watched all or somebody else watched and told him Heath Ledger Joker that's right go even up to your like arms kind of up for no reason next to your body when you talk you know like it was an impersonation almost and a bad one but but but a poor one I don't know it's just didn't I didn't buy it at all see Heath like I don't know Heath Ledger [ __ ] sold the whole thing this was

just I don't know age it just bugged me every time and I didn't what the [ __ ] was his motivation in this film like he he wanted Batman to kill Superman so he was sending Batman all his hate mail that Batman didn't even get right because they didn't give it to him and then to make them fight and then but he didn't want Batman to have the Kryptonite for for no apparent reason and then Batman took the Kryptonite anyway and then so he had it but then he also made doomsday like well my second worst character in the film like how did he even know that that would happen with Luther I really wish they had have gone with their first pick for him which Brian Cranston oh that would have been amazing yeah that would have been so

much better well especially cuz he wouldn't have done it like that yes it's like he's just if he's just in the world doing crazy [ __ ] cuz he's like a psychopath that's not Lex Luther really although again that's a poor reason to dislike the film because I should ignore what I know about the characters cuz it's it's a new thing what about this what about Batman trying to track down the Kryptonite how did he know the Kryptonite was there he got the information from he was Ching Portugal before he got the computer yes but then he found out that it was a ship yeah but he was he knew about all that beforehand he didn't know it was a ship beforehand did he he knew it was he knew knew it had the Kryptonite and that's what he wanted that's what he was chasing down right

but he didn't know what it was right he knew he he knew that he knew that the Kryptonite was with the white Portuguese or whatever but how did he know that oh he uh no they didn't as far as I know that was that's something that just they hit the ground running he's already halfway through an investigation he's follow begin and this is why I felt weird they went through a lot of details to explain some things and then other things they just skimmed over yeah sure yeah okay yeah yeah okay and doomsday shows up at the end and that was just [ __ ] and you know what it's like we watch and it was and everyone's like oh it's doomsday and they're like no it might not be we're not saying who and like well it's doomsday no not saying it is

and then of course it's doomsday yeah that was that was just boring yeah like there's nothing interesting about that fight scene at the end it was like just boring the fight scene was actually quite good for one thing whereas Batman sort of did nothing in that fight just kept out of way which is true he there's no way he could have been able to participate in that fight he had one Kryptonite [ __ ] grenade left and he used that at one bit and it made Doom they sneeze yeah and then and then he was like [ __ ] this I think that's the biggest problem with with this is [ __ ] Batman shouldn't be there like if Superman is in danger go home yeah and you know what like speaking of him being there did

anyone not know until this movie that uh metropolis and Gotham is separated by a small Bay thought like separate sides of everyone just assumed it was like New York and Los Angeles right yeah Chicago I think Gotham City's based on Chicago yeah and yeah but but obviously yeah but since they're not just called the same thing they're different cities right if you like two cities right next to each other is one city right yeah we have Sydney and we have North Sydney we don't have North Sydney and Melbourne yeah like that's right yeah that was weird unless it was like I don't know a misleading camera angle no it can't be that mly no she took a helicopter there yeah I know and yeah he flew uh the bat the Batwing there in

about 10 seconds to go get um Martha Kent yeah after he murdered all those people I'm friends with your son yeah that was it like she just watched him blow up a man yeah and she's like seen a lot you know what I realized though while watching that is that Diane Lane play Superman's you know mother essentially right yes but in the movie Hollywood land she plays the wife of the guy who played Superman which is played by Ben Affleck who played Batman in this movie right they one about the guy who got killed right yeah yeah or killed himself oh I spoilers sorry seriously Hollywood land great movie but I think that that makes Affleck the

only person who's ever played Superman and Batman he's also played another character that I would like to talk about later mhm mhm okay um yeah uh what else I didn't like the way they introduced the other characters Lex Luthor gave them all a schnazzy name and a little logo so weird awful and spent so much like just having the one scene with it where Batman was looking at the Wonder Woman one and just having the flashes of the other one yeah that would have been enough but also how does he know their logos yeah well he invented them but from the from the look of it yeah so they're just going to they're going to go oh thanks for that yeah that's right oh I've just uh I didn't do that for you I just did that to uh just to customize

my desktop yeah exactly I often give uh various people logos uh this is my uh Lexi Bell folder she's got a little logo and uh sponsored by Lex cour hey I didn't didn't realized that's why that was the first thing that popped into my head but that is a good it's a good excuse to use when I'm asked all right we all know you like Lexi Bell who was also being in a Batman film oh yeah not not not this one not this one though not one like this at all the ending yeah why did they kill Batman off I Superman off because Zack Snider hates Superman and he's a [ __ ] pain in the ass to have in these movies because he's too powerful so he was like get rid of him but he'll be back well maybe in some form he'll be back who

knows all right he'll be back but yeah I don't know yeah that was just pointless I really it was kind of like it seemed like the ending was like all right let's get this Death of Superman [ __ ] out of the way because but they didn't have to do that like they didn't have to do the death of Superman I doomsday in there and like this they could have just written another movie It's called Batman versus Superman right and and that was about 10 minutes like it set that up for about an hour and a half and then they fought for 10 minutes and then they became friends cuz of their Ms and then and then it was like a whole other thing that happened like even if you keep most of the film the way that it was it could have been Lex manipulates them into fighting and then they fight at the end

and then they for some reason they realize that Lex is manipulating them makes more sense for that to be the [ __ ] reason they bond and then Lex they go let's get him yep like I don't know that makes more sense to me although they couldn't a big fight with him at the end cuz they would just crush him yeah so I agree but you know what none of that mattered to me and I don't know why I just thought the vibe of this movie was spoton like you liked Man of Steel though didn't you uh yeah I did but I have the same criticism with Man of Steel as I do for this which is that all the setup and the exposition and all that I really really love and then the last half an hour is just a dumb fight yeah look I that's the other thing too right I I know I probably was more

positive on the night that I saw it and I mean I didn't dislike it when I was watching it it's just afterwards when I thought about it I was like well that doesn't make any sense there's a lot of flaws in it but I just enjoyed it and there's just no denying that and this this might be controversial but I think Affleck is a better Batman than Chris you know a lot of people said that I think he's more rounded I think his Bruce Wayne is more interesting I agree yeah um so I agree with you on that and I I'll I'll watch more of these you know yeah yeah I'm definitely going to go back and watch the next ones but I still just I don't know I just I struggled even sitting through this I wasn't enjoying it when I was there oh really I think there were just little things that

coming up like when what when Superman's gone to when that bomb goes off and L Lane rocks up and shows a media pass to get past the cop to go and go stand in the of a barricade with a lot of protesters just confused me me sitting there going what I didn't like like it confused me how he's able to tell that Lois Lane is in trouble in [ __ ] Afghanistan but his mom gets kidnapped yeah he doesn't know about it and also when they're having this big battle at the end the whole City's exploding and he's like that sounds like Lois Lane drowning like even though she's not saying think it's just some tapping yeah that was I don't know yeah it's it's just it's Superman like it's too many contrivances yeah look you got to make

allowances for the fact that the guy can literally do anything you just got to put limits on it yeah yeah I think my main problem with with it is like I said I felt the same about soccer punch I didn't enjoy socker punch afterwards when I thought about it h but at the time I was like oh okay that's fine uh same with Man of Steel and same with this and my main issue is that the way that just the way that Zack Snyder does action yeah just I don't care about anything because I can't see what's going on everything's just like turned up to [ __ ] 15 and not only that like the whole photography style changed during the fight scenes like suddenly we had all these crash zooms and stuff we've never had in the movie before yeah

like there was a really cool sequence with the Batmobile right but the camera was just [ __ ] oh we can see the wheel we can see the gunfire we see just [ __ ] move the camera back like it's not like you're hiding a small budget or anything yeah that's right [ __ ] let me let me see stuff like I don't know it's just too too much you know and then and then I stopped caring and it like it just becomes like I get I'll wait for this to finish and the the explosions to stop and then I'll figure out what happened just it's too much for me maybe I'm getting old no I find that in all movies at the moment with those fights I agree with that is it editing is it the editing like cont contrast that with something like [ __ ] Mad Max Fury Road right where I felt like I knew what was

going on I knew where everybody was in in the world at the time you know when when something's happening yeah there spal awareness yeah whereas in in in this I just felt lost like I I don't even what am I looking at like oh did Wonder Woman just chop his arm off I don't know because it was just like two frames of it like I don't yeah yeah I agree with that y didn't I saw a trailer for Suicide Squad before it oh yeah and I don't know if I'm looking forward to that now or it's just because they had Bohemian raps City what music for it that I that got me excited I'm not sure I've seen that trailer but quite honestly I'm not that excited but I wasn't that excited about Superman V Batman either I'm interested to

see um Suicide Squad because I think it's maybe going to be a bit different h then then you know it's the different Joker that we've seen but then I don't know people keep complaining about how all the characters are different now so I think you know the other thing right DC has gone so dark with these movies like I think that's the other thing I Marvel's having fun yeah the Marvel movies feel like fun whereas this felt like [ __ ] like dire true but I always felt that was the difference between Marvel and DC yeah you're probably right you know the other thing too is I've tried to look into uh trying to you know educate myself a bit because I have always been more of a Marvel fan I guess yeah read more Marvel comics in DC yeah

see I like I like Batman but I didn't really like any of the other characters that much and I've been looking into them and I'm was like yeah I just don't really like these characters very much yeah sure I don't know why yeah no I like Batman and I like sort of his villains but then I Branch out from there and it's sort of like there's no one there that really grabs my attention he's the he's the odd one out in in DC right because all of them are really really powerful and he's just a guy yeah that's right so that's that's why he's interesting well exactly and I think that's why I like him and I don't necessarily like the others yeah sure I feel like if you contrast uh and I I hate I hate that this always comes down

to one of the big arguments is right oh you didn't like this movie that's because you like Marvel like well I I don't think that's true think I think I didn't like it because I didn't like it like I don't necessar I'm not biased because of my love of Marvel I love Batman as well I just I don't know didn't I didn't like this movie as much but I feel like with the the Marvel ones the action is more grounded [ __ ] off what you mean no way I no I think the action there is still completely insane no way the first 10 minutes of [ __ ] Age of Ultron which oh okay sorry I didn't like Age of Ultron for the same reason yeah sorry to clarify that I feel like Age of Ultron did the same thing uh as this and Man of Steel where it's just

too much mhm I'm talking about sorry to clarify I'm talking about movies like uh Captain America in particular Winter Soldier mhm um like the [ __ ] car chase with Nick Fury and then I don't you know what I think the difference is Marvel shoot their scen during the day and Batman shoot their at night that's true maybe I think the first event was less like that but definitely volon suffer in the same way um and hopefully they re that back in a bit but like say yeah like uh the Captain America movies The Iron Man like it's it's it's a guy in a metal suit right but he's not like all powerful but one of the one of the Avengers is actually a God right God sure but he still gets beat you got a guy in a suit

and a God it's like it's just as ridiculous yeah okay maybe it's not a character thing maybe it's just I don't I don't like the way Zack SN does Action maybe that's all it is I completely agree except 300 which [ __ ] and Watchman and Watchman right is great yeah because again I feel like it's more grounded it's not like yeah they're not Invincible or anything they're just people Y and so he kind of had to re it in a bit maybe that's that's all it is um while there's a petition apparently to stop him from directing the Justice League movie um I'm not going to bother signing that because that's silly that's fine because Hollywood's not going to listen to you anyway of course I got this petition say even though he made this movie into a $420 million smash

people seem to they don't care yeah they don't care what you think I like how it says so far the petition has over 5,000 signatures the goal is 7 and a half thousand like who decided that was the goal yeah look we didn't get enough likes to go and get con we're not going to get enough [ __ ] likes on this oh dear one thing I did like that I noticed in the opening credits that I thought commendable is that Bill Finger has co-edit as creator of Batman with Bob Kane because as far as I know every other Batman movie just says created by Bob Kane yeah so Bill Finger you're my of the week the week of the week nice yeah no that's cool he deserves it if we want to stay on

superheroes but we're done talking about Batman v Superman and we want to switch back over uh I know that I just want to say one more thing and that's thanks again to Harriet at Road Show for inviting us to the screening and also for sending us a copy of the art of Batman vers Superman and yeah that looks good yeah no the book is cool cuz like I said one of the things I really like about the film is Batman's stuff yeah agreed so yeah and I think they played that quite well as well MH what I'm hoping is going to be better cuz this is cuz this is setting up for the next movie so they did cram so much in yeah try get story I'm hoping now that maybe the next ones they might be able to settle down a bit and actually focus more on the story then trying to plan

ahead for it if that makes sense that's fair I think cuz with Marvel they had a lot of other movies building up to it yeah they established every character in in a few movies first yeah whereas this one they've had Mana steel and then bang we're going for it yeah H yeah but I mean this is the mashup do you know what I mean this is not Man of Steel part two this is there was Man of Steel now it's already Superman versus Batman oh and Wonder Woman's kind of the third she's on the poster as well yeah what did you think let's let's talk specifically what we thought because of the cameos right because I thought [ __ ] Aquaman looked [ __ ] looked absolutely [ __ ] and I don't understand why they just held on that shot of him staring into the camera what camera is

he staring into exactly yeah I know and then cuz then he smashed uh the Little Submarine thing which obviously was not the camera cuz he smashed it that's right exactly right so that looks [ __ ] and I don't really like Jason so I don't know if I'll necessarily see that movie you know but uh flash maybe yeah but we didn't really see anything no we saw him go fast but you know soups can go fast and that [ __ ] cwalk thing looks like a like a TV show it looks like it looks like they shot that on cheap video too and I mean like not a modern TV show cuz TV shows are pretty [ __ ] impressive now in the last couple of years I'm talking about it looked like a TV show like uh from the '90s yeah like Warehouse 13 or something well the the reason why that

might feel like that to you is cuz the guy in it is Henry from Europe R oh yeah right no it's miles Dyson from um Terminator 2 as well so that that could be that slight connection there hopefully he um he reprises his iconic role and um gives us his you know his famous catchphrase classic yeah but um so what's the next DC movie after this apart from suide Squad uh I don't know what the order of the films is you know what I bet they've already figured it out DC movie timeline yeah I'm pretty sure they've got it till 2020 for them as well cuz I'm actually Wonder Woman I'm actually looking forward now I think they set that up yeah it's it's got her it's got Chris Pine and it's got some other people watch I like her I

like Chris Pine so so yeah suicide squads next then Lego Batman then Wonder Woman that's as far as this goes okay so what I've got here we've got Wonder Woman and Justice League in 2000 so next year oh Justice League next year as well y okay um then in 2018 we've got the Flash and Aquaman which I don't know I think they're doing that back to front I think they should maybe do the Flash and aquam first and then go to Justice League it would make more sense to do separate films but maybe they feel they're doing they're doing Justice League before the others yeah what yeah but maybe that way these Standalone films can just be

Aquaman going on an adventure and not Aquaman's origin story and then the you know the flashes the Flash's origin story like maybe if we just get them all together then these can just be movies about these Heroes now but to me what they're probably going to end up doing is trying to push the origin stories into the Justice League movie cuz remember at the moment they're not the Flash and everything there's just some people they've seen on camera so they're not their characters yet I mean Lex Luthor knows that he's the Flash but he doesn't he doesn't know himself yet yeah he's already named him the Flash and come up with a little logo for him then in 2019 we have Shazam oh yeah and Justice League 2 does that star Shaquille O'Neal I hope so it stars

Dwayne Johnson [ __ ] close call him by his name Dwayne the Rock John I am the RO and then in 2020 we have Cyborg and green lanon green lanter they're going to re yeah of course they are okay I noticed there's no Martian Manhunter and if he's not in the Justice League movie I'll be disappointed which I know he won't be so there you go maybe he will maybe he'll show up I hope he does man always like Russ man I like I like those characters in the Arkham Arkham games mhm so I like I like them when they're on Batman's terms I just don't like them when they're on Superman's terms play the Arkham games you get into those you haven't played The Batman games play play three of them there's one Origins don't play that one okay

yeah that's the one I borrowed off you that you've not asked for back Luke that where that is yeah I haven't played it either I started to play it and then I was like I might just play Arkham City again Arham City the big expansive one right oh it's [ __ ] great Arkham Knight is the new one for Xbox One and apparent I haven't played it yet apparently it's great that was a great game is that out already yeah okay maybe I'll pick that up cuz I I am in the mood to be Batman all right can we talk about uh this is another superhero I would like to talk about I feel like yeah it's well it's sort of related in a way because I feel like man [ __ ] why isn't DC doing something like this with [ __ ] Batman because I'm watching I'm talking about deadevil I watched I've

watched all of the first season of Daredevil I [ __ ] loved it and I mean Daredevil's particularly uh kind of an ideal superhero for me to like cuz he's got two things going on he's a [ __ ] lawyer so he's solving crime and [ __ ] so he's like you know doing a bit of investigating during the day and then at night he's beating the [ __ ] out of criminals as a superhero and he's got superpowers but they're not extreme superpowers he's he's been blinded but he's got um enhanced hearing and stuff so that he can see uh kind of by echolocation sort of it's a bit different in the TV show to how they showed it in the yeah it's bit different to how they showed it in the in the old Ben Affleck film thank God cuz that film was atro yes it was um yes it was the director's

cut of that film is better but it's still got some stuff in there I'm like who the [ __ ] thought that was a good idea but anyway look Matt I really want I really want to meet you halfway on this because I watch Daredevil as well and did you you watch the first season or have you watched more no I watched first season only okay that's good cuz I I'm going to watch the rest but I haven't seen more so here's my here's my opinion every single scene with Daredevil in it is the best series on TV right now mhm but every other scene is a wacky setup for foggy Nelson and Karen to be doing some crazy things and I can't stand it really yeah pick one don't Mash two shows together a really

dark one and a really light wacky one pick one yeah kind of I guess that's what I like about it it's like I like i' I enjoy the it's kind of like um what do you what is it NCIS or something yeah a bit lighter in tone than NCIS but mixed with Batman yeah yeah pretty much and the Batman stuff's good I love that stuff I was watching like like there's but I don't watch NCIS So maybe that's the [ __ ] fight scenes in this show are amazing good like he Daredevil [ __ ] kicks the [ __ ] out of people and they have some great fight scen and and they're very brutal and it's very it's violent and intense and I was commenting there's kind of a big fight scene at the end of this which I won't spoil everyone watched it you should watch it it's really good um and

I was like why isn't there a [ __ ] Batman show like this well they've DC has done a few things they've done the Gotham Gotham one which was about Commissioner Gordon does that could not could not make that through one episode I've realized that to be fair I haven't watched Arrow or Flash FL flash or any of those shows are they like that have you have you seen they're not they're not like Daredevil no I didn't think so they're more like free to a shows [ __ ] Eureka or those kind of shows right yeah yeah episodic like a Smallville yes yeah exactly right that's what I that's why like they're not having the same flash in the television show as are in the movies they keep those two worlds are separate they're

light the cuz this this daredevil show is not light it is like it is an adult television show for adults half of it is half of guy gets his [ __ ] head smashed off in a door yeah and then it's foggy Nelson doing worky one liners I don't understand it wasn't it's not that goofy hate him can't stand him is he hate foggy I hate foggy man that actor is uh the only other thing I've seen him in is um ID hands I know maybe that's why I can't take him seriously but I happen to know Matt that you [ __ ] love that movie I it was the first movie I ever bought on DVD pretty sure I watched house at one stage and Idle Hands is great if you haven't seen it ladies and gentlemen go you we should [ __ ] do that for necron nomenon good I can't believe I thought I did I did

watch it at your house I watched Idol hands with you and Dave when you lived in Eastwood yeah you must yeah yeah definitely that's when I bought it cuz I didn't I didn't have a DVD player and Dave did yeah so I started buying them and then later on I got one and now what's a DVD player hey quick question because you you um raised a very valid point like why isn't there a Batman TV series yes and I was thinking recently with the success of the 1960s Batman which was just like went Gang Busters why didn't they do a Superman series at the same time right yeah I just can't think of why like today if you did a Batman movie and it went really well the studio would be like right do a Superman movie same with a TV show the only thing I can think I

mean Superman works is well and he's difficult because cuz how do you put Superman in danger unless ask Kryptonite again I mean there have been Superman TV shows to at least plus animated series all before that period yeah and I'm just really surprised that they didn't try to shoehorn something something on yeah I mean I'm glad they didn't I mean they had a spin-off Batgirl series it was [ __ ] you know what I mean yeah it's a Supergirl show too but I heard that wasn't great so I haven't bothered to watch it yeah I took a little bit of it in uh it's like if Supergirl was a character in Ali MCB and also Ali mcbill is in it right oh yeah and just again to clarify right I'm not hating on DC or anything like that it's not because I'm a Marvel fan boy I actually haven't watched any

of the other Marvel shows either like Jessica Jones or Agents of Shield is terrible um I tried to watch it I'm sorry if you're a fan of agen of Shield I couldn't I can't do it for the same reason I can't do stuff like Smallville and that anymore it's just not it's it's not comping light I haven't watched any of watch a few episodes of everything but not M mhm yeah I'm not sitting down to watch an entire season of any of these why watching Jessica Jones right now she's into that yeah I'm going to watch it because I've heard that it's yeah it seems a bit different from the others I'm hoping because it's a Netflix one as well maybe it's more like deadevil is it just because of Game of Thrones we're now allowed to have these shows cuz I feel like I mean there was

there was Deadwood which was what I would call like on the same level as these these shows man I would put dead Deadwood on the same level as Shakespeare oh and um bad I guess is why I didn't like Breaking Bad but it was The Sopranos first oh yeah you want to know why all this stuff is now as good as it is because we can now stream back when we were young these shows we would never be allowed to watch when they're on television right like ever when we were sort of 10 if we wanted to watch Daredevil or Batman or what we wouldn't be allowed because everything's now streaming I'll just be in my room on my iPad and I'll watch these shows yeah but this is how and your mom can't do anything I was going to say for for once in your life Luke you don't get in

trouble off your mom for watching deadevil no but it's true like now that I think more people are watching it even from a younger age than what they would have in the past and that's why I think they're not they're not trying to go for the whole family show anymore that everyone will sit around the television and watch oh I see what you're saying Point everyone watches their own devices everyone's yeah okay also I think yeah it's they've proven with I guess because the medium has changed and because they've proven it with Game of Thrones and that people want this kind of show makes money make more of it like I feel like Daredevil had better production values and and everything than a lot of films agre days agre can't fault that half of it the

other half is just lawyers in an office yeah which I like as well well the other great thing is is they know they now they don't have to do 26 episodes yes no that's true it's all if this is if you've got a script if you've got a season that's going to be 10 that's 10 episodes like don't try and double with crap that well fun you should say that Luke because I'm actually about to start next month shooting a uh a streaming series myself which is Eight Episodes cuz that's how many they're going to beuck yeah yep that's sick congrats on that again by the way also listeners I I don't mean a web series like I don't mean something on YouTube this is like you know half hour episodes so yeah you know just calm down and obviously we'll uh we'll link to it when our listen

couple of days it's not out on Blu-ray or DVD yet in Australia I think it comes out overseas uh quicker like in a couple of days but here from what I can gather from JB highi it comes out on the 13th of April yeah I think they've released it early because it was leaked online right and I think that's why they've released a digital version early just to try and go well people are downloading well he download right copy oh okay oh you mean because it leaked they started they put it up early oh okay that makes sense because I wondered why they did that okay that that makes a lot of sense now the reason why I go two copies yes is because I think from what I've seen so far the special features and everything are better on the Blu-ray copy are they not

the same not from what I've seen I've had special features when you download like from iTunes or wherever it's available where is it available well I was looking at it on Xbox and I only saw like some deleted scenes I didn't see any I had look no I had to look on the Xbox they're there okay do you have to buy them separately no no no you buy uh I looked on the Xbox cuz like I said I I looked into a few places right and it see seems to me uh I could be wrong but it seemed like you get pretty much the same stuff on most of the platforms which is good but here's my dilemma right I've got some Blu-rays I've I started to buy stuff on Blu-ray um I don't rare I rarely use them it's dead media if I think oh I've got a Blu-ray I'll Chuck that in cuz cuz I've got it

and I want to use it I have owned the Blu-ray wanted to watch something downloaded it so I didn't have to get up yeah it's convenient so look Matt okay so here here's my question right if I buy it on the Xbox right I can only watch it on the Xbox or a PC yeah if I buy it on Google Play I can watch it on my PC or my Mac or my uh I think that's it actually I don't have an Android phone uh if I buy it on iTunes I can watch it on my Mac I can watch it on uh my iPad and my iPhone I can't watch it on my Xbox like everything you're saying I would go the Xbox over everything else because that's the only one you have said that connects to your televis I completely agree I completely agree with that yeah or should I buy it on Blu-ray to alleviate

the guilt of having obtained it from Italy and then I can just use that copy on every [ __ ] device cuz cuz it's just easy but what devices do you have with Blu-ray other than a Blu-ray player no no no well I I don't I'll have the disc and put it on a shelf and just feel watch the download feel good about the fact that I paid for it and then they can [ __ ] off yeah do that or buy a digital copy somewhere and do that yeah pay for it if you pay if you watch it on Xbox too though oh yeah yeah if I if I buy the Xbox version right I have to pay for it if I buy the Google version and iTunes version whatever it's just that I can't buy a copy and download a cop it's not that it's ever going to come up ever going to come up where I'm like I really wish I could watch this on my iPad right

now and I bought it on the Xbox it's probably not going to come up but it's just frustrates me that I it's I'm locked in whatever I buy it on and it's sort of I realize now as well it's a false dilemma because it's not like if I buy the Blu-ray I solve that problem anyway it's like I used to think I used to think by buying DVDs right at least I'm not locked into iTunes I'm not locked into that but now I've got a box full of [ __ ] DVDs that are useless and Matt thing if you buy it on dis you're locked into that's right and I'm not allowed to according to the the to the law the fact that I've got a box of DVDs doesn't mean I'm allowed to have those on my [ __ ] computer anyway no because you brought the license for that the DD that I can't I got no [ __ ] DVD

drives and anything anymore look we're all going to buy it because we want the stuff honestly I don't want something sitting on the shelf you know what I mean so yeah yeah I want to I want to do the right thing but I also I'm going to get thebox one I wish they could just be a bit less [ __ ] about it all you know go the Xbox one as well for the same reason L my Xbox is connected to my TV yeah if I want to watch it on my computer then you can still watch it online on your computer but really if I'm going to watch a movie especially something like that I want it on my television man I do want to see though I really do it it gets better every time yeah I don't know I just it's just a dilemma that I've had but the definitely go

digital over physical yeah yeah you're probably right cuz like I said I've realized it's it's like there's no dilemma here either way I'm I'm like locking myself into something either way you're watching it there is no answer that ends with me being able to watch it all the time forever Infinity but you know there is Matt because we know we live in a world where you can buy the Blu-ray and lose the Blu-ray and go all right [ __ ] it I'll download it and I'll feel fine because I've actually bought this before yeah right but I mean legally sure like there's no legal way for me to obtain it in a way that I can watch it in perpetuity forever that never was the case I mean you bought it on VHS you wouldn't be able to play it on a beta Max no but but there was the

illusion of that back in the day because if I bought the DVD right I have the DVD right you can't take the DVD away from me whereas the digital stuff kind of reveals the the illusion because it's like they can take away it whenever you know whenever and a false either way but it's just more obvious now that that's what's happening it's like if I buy a book right I've got the book forever they can't take the book away yeah but if the book catches on fire my uh Kindle because I've got about 30 boxes of books that are just weighing my life down also I realized a book was a terrible analogy because a book just works forever and I had to invent a scenario where the book gets burned to make it work so I don't bother writing and telling my [ __ ] I've realized my analogy was

garbage so what do we got what else have we got here and do you want to just talk games to wrap up real quick I think so sure okay do it so VI games we haven't talked about the division much CU I wasn't on and I I don't know did you talk about it last week I haven't listened to last week's yet I think we did talk about came out came out two two hours ago finished it right I know that okay have you got it Dan have you played I hav't I haven't played it I'm enjoying Primal far too much to stop uh I just finished that as well oh you finished it nice I've just upgraded myself to the double bow that one took me forever to get that double bow cuz I was trying to find a rare D skin and could not find it anywhere the rare deer skin was was hard to find yeah I got to play this game you do

man you [ __ ] it's a great game it's so good it's Far Cry and I'm I'm not upset that I don't have a gun or anything yeah it's I'm just fine with that bow yeah and the the bow was really tricky to use at start and and I only used it when I was really really sure I was going to hit something but as you progress through the game you get better with your weapons so your aim gets easier to aim oh okay that's good that's cool no I did find out at the start I actually I'd end up just going to my club because with the bar I kept missing but then towards the end I'm just head shot head shot head shot yeah especially with the double you killed a mammoth yeah oh that you do that the first five minutes of the game it's the first thing you kill the game starts with a mammoth

hunt all right soul but to be fair after that it becomes quite hard to kill them for a while until it doesn't okay yeah well I've been playing a bit of division um I went did you discuss the dark Zone have you even been into the dark Zone Luke I went into the dark Zone for one minute cuz there was a mission in there and then I left the dark zone is uh not for me really I don't know just I might be fun to play with people yeah but yeah okay by myself I had no idea what I was doing so I was a bit confused the first time I went in uh and it took me a little while to figure it out cuz I went in alone as well and so the way the dark Zone Works dangerous to go alone it is take this the way it works is you go in and there are more powerful bad guys

like more tricky bad guys um and you get better loot in there but because it's contaminated that's where the virus was worse you can collect stuff stuff it goes into a separate inventory and you have to get it extracted you have to like airlift it out um like you can't take it back out again through the door the way you came in it's a bit convoluted but but it makes sense in a way because it's you know it makes it trickier to get good loot um and the other thing is as you as I discovered if you accidentally murder somewh accidentally murder another player I was we taking out some bad guys this guy was really low on health and and he he just it honestly was an accident I was sniping and I just [ __ ] head shoted this guy oh man and

then it comes up and it says you have gone Rogue and then you become a rogue agent right and then basically everybody then has to try and kill you and you get apparent it seems like you get better gear and high XP for doing it but I just got annihilated immediately and I it was very confusing at the time cuz I didn't understand what was happening but yeah I realized now so yeah you go in you you beat up some tougher baddies you get some cool gear and then you have to call for an extraction uh and it's kind of like you have to like you have to hold the position for two or three minutes with a bunch of enemies around before the helicopter comes and then it lifts your gear out and then you have to make your own way out of there again and then when you get back to your base the gear

that you took that you extracted is in your stash so yeah it's cool I can see yeah it would be more fun obviously with some friends yeah um which let me know one time you're on and I'll I'll I'll turn it on again but for now I finished with the game okay yeah Jen and I have been playing missions um together which is good it's fun uh so yeah we should do that I think at some point too it's a bit like Borderlands uh in that sense um where you can kind of jump in and jump out of each other's game yeah and do missions you can still collect stuff and get stuff and go back to your game and it's all good and yeah exactly yeah it's cool speaking of video games uh we talked about Plague Inc the week uh if the listeners want a copy of that we're giving them away can I have a copy um no

Final Fantasy Bravely Default is great it's actually the best game uh I've played on my 3DS I think I actually want to play my 3DS whereas you know like a lot of the mobile games are not as compelling if I'm going to play a game I'm like I'll play the Xbox whereas in now I'm actually like oh man going to play some Bravely Default at the moment my 3DS sits at work so I can Street pass this one guy who works in my building yeah yeah see I catch the train every day so I get a lot of um tiles and Street pass things and I miss catching the train I love catching the train to read books and play handheld games yep yeah that's the other reason actually you know the other reason I'm really into this is because it is something it's compelling like it's it's a

compelling game that I really want to play and I get like I guess like maybe 2 hours a day time play it yeah whereas like my Xbox I can't do it cuz I'm but if I'm on the train like I can just play this it's great else what else could you be doing you know well usually I used to read so I guess it's eating into my reading time you know yeah but sometimes you need a break from Reading yes I've been trying to force myself I've had a break for about 15 years it's fine to to read as well like I'm like you can play a game on the way in on the way home read I was sicking about actually picking it up because I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and I went oh that could be fun but then I've gone no I'll buy it I'll play the first 5 minutes and then I'll cuz I'm not getting achievements

for it yeah it doesn't it obviously doesn't have any of that stuff and yeah then I'll just have to go well I have to go back to my Xbox so I get it in ch it's got good Street pass stuff in that when you meet people in Street pass you collect them and they can you get more villages to help rebuild things in your village and then you son of a [ __ ] what I need it now yeah and also if we're friends on there we can um we can do Ability Link where I can um we can link our characters together so that we can share abilities and I can send my character to your game so you can use them in battles and stuff like that oh wow it's got some cool it's got some cool stuff so one of the things that's probably going to be good when the new next version of 3DS comes out is

the fact that your profile can probably copy across 3DS's uh you're locked in you have a Nintendo account you've got a 3DS Nintendo needs to catch up on this [ __ ] yeah it's not as bad as it was like you can transfer it to a new 3DS but yeah my my games live on this 3DS right and if this 3DS I think if like if it broke like if I dropped it and it got smashed or something I would have to [ __ ] around and call them and get them to like authorize it on a new one like it's a nightmare it's not like an Xbox where you just logging in and I've logged into this one now here's and where you go they're really behind on that kind of stuff it's same with the WiiU as well like which is rumors that the Wii NX I think it's called it's coming out and that'll also mean a new

handheld device as well well they just launched my Nintendo which is a new service that the the Wii U is telling me I should join it I think it swaps over from the Nintendo account is it my Nintendo they got some new thing I don't know what it's called I can't remember I Got a notification on my Wii um so they're upgrading that so maybe maybe they're headed in the right direction but yeah they need to do something yeah that's a big [ __ ] nightmare because again like with the way that I'm thinking about the uh longevity of my my goods kind of thing like if I buy a digital game on this 3DS it only works on this 3DS like come on guys no we're we're we're far we're we're so far past that now it should just be you you have that on your

account yeah I have a Nintendo account and those games are on it and if I have a Nintendo device that can play those games I can play them yep yeah that's how it should be I want to see Rogue one yeah did you see that uh the new poster no there's a new poster they revealed J Binks dut up no sorry for some reason it just popped into my head that is like the one movie I'm looking forward to this year it is a good poster though there genuinely was there was a poster posted with um Judo mink because it was April 1st all right there is a poster though did you see uh Bruce Campbell's April Fool show yes I did no that was great he announced that he's going to be playing doctor who but they had a poster and everything like a a photo and everything was great

I didn't see any other April fools I think because it was on a weekend yeah was it a weekend no there was still plenty around I think oh yeah because um sorry because in the US it was on a weekend here yeah so I wasn't checking anything cuz I only checked the internet when I'm at work apparently yeah because [ __ ] America so were were there any good a fools no nothing there was a lot just nothing really PornHub became cornhub did you see Google's April Fool no no what was theirs I saw cornhub yeah that was funny PornHub yeah if you went to Pornhub it was cornhub it was like hot corn that's great what did Google do Google announced they dropped a new launch video for a new product which is virtual reality reality I forget what they called it but it's oh basically
