welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy okay I have a question for you guys mhm how many batteries do you go through a week on your Xbox controllers cuz I think I'm going through a lot how many a week I go through none yeah yeah I think a battery will last me at least a week Luke none a week oh cuz I just plug mine directly into the console so that I don't have to buy any batteries cuz I sit right here in front of the TV and the Xbox cuz it's set up at a desk well I do use batteries but they last me a while I I'm going through about six a week good Lord God damn just yeah just I just felt like it was a lot yeah that is

a lot you need to get the rechargeable batteries Luke they suck do they though they really did you get fired or something that and we haven't you haven't told us you got a lot of free time on no that's this has just been going on for months it's just I go through about four to six batteries a week and they're in the controller yeah not the other you know the other stuff you do when you uh when you're playing the Xbox yeah that that that's a different battery supply that you don't talk about they're big batteries not the the small ones it calls something else the controller yeah the Big D's the fat controller it's it's literally it's Thomas the Tank Engine action figure that he

uses I have tried to use those rechargeable batteries before but the reason why I don't like them go on is they don't last as long as actual batteries uhuh and if you don't charge they don't last two days like normal batteries [Music] do they would like but if you don't charge like if you get to throw it on charge then you got to use it again it's basically useless so get yourself a cable and I'm really bad yeah suppose I could it's just a a normal USB cable they made it pretty easy yeah I've got some long ones as well I might try that cuz yeah I'm going through lots of batteries I think I think the one I'm using came with the Xbox to be yeah yeah yeah there's and there's also the one that came with my Elite controller as well and they're pretty long you right I

might try that I don't have to have to use any batteries actually we have a battery what do you call like the Energizer made the the stand with the rechargeable batteries and all that kind of jazz we've got one of those but it's in a box somewhere yeah I I got one of them at one stage but it's sit the controller in it and it charges yeah it's over there and just want you guys to know that it's been almost 3 minutes that we've been talking about batteries just batteries I mean if you guys are happy that this is the direction the podcast is going in this week we can make this the battery episode that's fine but I just wanted to put it out there you don't think our listeners care about batteries maybe they do I think they might care about batteries and how

long they last in controllers well what what what else might they care about then do you think they care about Harry Dean Stanton look probably not but Harry Dean Stanton's a good friend of this podcast he's been mentioned more times than he probably deserved although he's a top bloke so that's F they might care about him once they remember who he is hey hey he is one of these guys that you don't know who he is but then you've seen him a million times in different things it's true haran Stanton plays the guy who's not the black guy who goes downstairs on the ship in a in mhm yep right and we talked about him just the other week Y and he was also the guy that watched Hulk crash through the roof in the Avengers and gave him some clothes as mentioned the other week he's

in uh Twin Peaks firew walk with me and he's in the new uh return of Twin Peaks and now he's also in the ground oh he's also in a really great movie called Paris Texas directed by one Vim venders who both mat and I both have personal connections to I told him to [ __ ] [Music] off yeah and I sat and had a uh a long and detailed chat about his epic Masterpiece Angels over Berlin so I guess we have had similar similar encounters with him I didn't know who he was so you told him to [ __ ] off when he asked for what what did he ask for he was filming a television commercial and he wanted to uh set up the camera in an area of the house we didn't have permission with and he was being very insistent and I was having a bad day and

to be fair your your one job or your your main prerogative MH is to stop people from going where they're not supposed to be right yes so that that is your job my job is to make sure people don't break stuff and go into the places they're not supposed to in other people's houses and I'm sure you were quite nice the first couple of times when you're saying no sorry yeah yeah yeah I was like no no no we we only have permission to be in this area of the house Y and then yeah but Vim venders wants to film in there that's right tell Vim vendors to [ __ ] off and then my boss I got back to the office and my boss was like did you say the words venders to [ __ ] off today yes I

did yes I did so good he's such a such a beautiful old man too such a wonderful filmmaker he probably hurt his little feelings but my feelings are hurt right now because I just learned that literally just then oh that Harry de Stanton that Harry Dean Stanton has passed away yeah at the age of 91 [ __ ] that is an old age to get AIDS it is I'm like well remember he might have got it when he was younger and it just took him now yeah he didn't uh he didn't look I mean he looks old but he didn't look that old he look 91 no and cuz he he was just in Twin Peaks and they filmed that a couple of years ago so I guess he was probably late ' 80s yeah it's just a spring chicken of ' 89 but I no he does not Johnny Depp is a terrible

actor sometimes he's not terrible yeah but mostly he is mostly he just chews on the scenery um okay hold on I can't seem to find him without clothes I can find him topless is that good enough for a reference yeah yeah I think that is okay let me paste it into to the spreadsheet fellas cuz that's where I'm looking first do you think that we may be the only podcast out there who right now is searching for images of Harry Dean Stanton nude I hope so I wonder if that wonder if that gets us some uh some SEO some if we would put that in the in the show notes uhhuh yeah har Dean Stanton nude because because I just Googled it and [ __ ] all came up so uh the closest I can find is this image which I'm just popping in now which is har Dean Stanton topless uh with a blanket over him and

what appears to be a top hat yeah see see cuz thect it looks like got more hair on his chest than he actually does he's got like that little patch in the middle yeah and that's sort of it it's not like the full hairy uhhuh uh-huh so what sorry what what is your preference with as far as chest hair goes I'm hairy chests okay right okay makes do you have a hairy chest look do you like hairy chests I do not have a hairy chest no I can't imagine you do is that by Design or you just you just happen to not have one just don't don't really have much hair there Matt you strike me as the kind of guy that would have a hairy chest uh I do do have hair on there y mhm mhm yeah yeah other other people might sorry Luke find that attractive but it's just not for me I'm sorry Matt

it's all right no no I think it's good that we clear this up now you'd have to shave before I make a fool of myself in front of everybody but Matt would you prefer I just want to know is it better like are you like feeling a little bit down that Luke doesn't find your particular physique attractive or are you relieved are you more relieved that he doesn't I just can't believe it's he's never mentioned it before I can't believe we've never seen each other without our shirts on we've known each other 20 God damn years I can tell you now you definitely you seen me without my shirt many times I've just not noticed I'm just not looking clearly there is a video up on our YouTube channel where I don't have a shirt on you just can't tell because I'm

attempting to fit into a child's Spider-Man costume and so you can only see me from the waist down cuz the rest of me didn't fit oh my God you know what I had forgotten that fact and I'd forgotten that every time I watched that that you you are topless at that point it's literally just Spider-Man on the bottom half someone has a photo it's a wide shot of that scene being filed you mean someone I'm assuming you mean Jenna uh I it could be jenet it could be you I'm not sure who it is some but somebody has one and it's yeah you can see you're sat there I'm standing there holding the Slate with the bottom half of me in a Spider-Man costume and then just topless that's great it's great yeah

ridiculous wish we could still make videos I don't I'm a bit upset you can't remember me without a shirt on every new town party within 5 minutes of me being there shirt off yeah that's true I get I I think I'm just I always look at your tattoos you know yeah oh yep yeah they're eye-catching Okay so we've gone from Battery talk to uh why haven't we seen each other without shirts on more often talk and also yeah mentioned the geek of the week I didn't even play the jingle yet what's going on today oh [ __ ] for Harry man you got to play it for Harry Harry this is for [Music] you it also I didn't do an audio test so did you hear that yeah yes did okay good well at least I did I I shouldn't speak for Dan that's rude you can speak for

Dan he doesn't yeah you can look I give you my proxy ah thank you yeah you wel just uh full power of attorney by the way yeah so podcast binding cuz that could be a problem I don't know our lawyer will tell us if if it is yeah yeah by the way lawyer we cut something out of the last week's podcast because we thought you wouldn't like it that's true actually we thought you'd love it Luke thought you wouldn't like it Matt did you get an Apple Watch yeah I did I did oh what do you think they had the announcement for the new stuff the other day there's a new iPhone 8 which is kind of just the same as iPhone 7 but it's got a a glass back and you can charge it wirelessly there not a huge amount of difference I I laugh about all their announcements when their

new phone it's all for stuff that it's been around for ages it's only new to Apple it's not new right sure look yeah you're right and it's finally happened after having an iPhone since the iPhone 3 which was the first one that was available in Australia I don't want this iPhone I don't want I don't well I don't care about the eight I sure I'll eventually I'll get one but the iPhone 10 the iPhone x is coming out and I don't think I want that one either cuz I definitely don't want that one I don't like the look of it I don't like that little unibrow it's got at the top starters weird and I don't like I don't know the the face recognition thing is creepy and that's the so far that's the big thing that it does yeah that doesn't interest me yeah I don't know I like it

it doesn't have Touch ID which I love I love Touch ID yeah bet you do wireless charging is awesome yeah so I guess if I'm going to get one it'll be the iPhone 8 but just not now cuz can I ask a dumb question before we move on go ahead mhm why isn't there an iPhone 9 how did the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 10 come out the same day and that was it and no one's got a problem with that that's right we're the first people to pick iPhone 10 or is that just a 10th anniversary one well it is the 10th anniversary so you that is probably how they're going to justify it it is odd and maybe they're saving the nine for like next year's you know one that doesn't have that's not how numbers work no I know I know well it's not the ex it's not the iPhone 10 it's the iPhone x but no they say 10

talked about the watch where I guess Tim Cook uh gets letters from people saying oh thanks for the watch it's really good and so they had and apparently were the real people in this ad it was people who uh the Watchers helped them in some way generally you know from like getting fit or for assisting them with some medical stuff and then there was one guy who had a car accident right and his phone and stuff got flung from the vehicle but he still had his Apple watch so he was wow yep yeah which was cool right except they got him back into like a car wreck and then he's there writing this letter in in in his smashed up car and I was just like my God he's like crashed the car and he's like oh my watch is all right I think I write Tim Cook a letter dear Tim I'm in the Flaming wreck of my

car right now but thanks to the Apple watch the emergency services are on the way it's such a weird thing wow my kids in the back are dead but my Apple watch my Apple watch survived what an amazing piece of technology love Frank so I don't care about LTE or Cellular in in the watch and they reduce the price of the current ones like last year's ones so I just went and bought one yeah great and so now I have one and it's on my wrist uh and it's good it's really good I like it which one do you have and when can we see a picture of it uh I have the uh oh I'll post it on Instagram I guess at some point this week I have it's just the uh just the space gray with the black band um you know cuz I mostly wear black so it goes with what I wear great the exercise stuff is really

good it uh it does this thing where every hour if I haven't gotten up and been for a walk it'll pop up and say hey should probably uh move around for a bit you've been sitting for an hour so I do which is really handy at work so uh I use it actually to REM cuz I have a uh my desk switches between standing and sitting at work oh you one of those hipsters now yeah I use that prompt to to switch it yeah well you know it's better for you to to move around so or so they say apparently standing all day is not good for you the problem that people run into standing all day you say stand still yeah right you always just got to keep moving you got to do a little dance just put some music on and just just wiggle your bum mhm do you wiggle your bum at work luk do you have

a standing desk still or do you sit now standing yeah okay that's what I thought don't care for sitting except for the fact that hurts I I find it slightly ironic that Luke half the time you're in a wheelchair in the other half you're at a standing desk he's an enigma when everyone else is walking he's sitting and when everyone else is sitting he's standing yeah it's actually because when I sit at work I actually end up hurting my back more than anything because I don't I have trouble sitting at a computer and then I'm also standing on my right leg so somebody handed you a computer while you're in your wheelchair You' be like no I'm getting out of this chair yeah and but when I'm standing at my desk I'm I'm standing on my right leg cuz there's nothing wrong with that one

that that leg's great yeah it's the left one that's crap well yeah I like my watch uh I use it mostly for the fitness stuff uh cuz I you know started running and and exercising and so it's good for keeping track of that and uh I turned most of the notifications off cuz I one of those people I generally have my phone like on completely silent and I'll just look at it when I feel like it I I don't like yeah you know I'm not on the I'm not going to respond when you don't want your phone to interrupt your day-to-day life no I'm I'm one of those people that's like I don't want social media telling me when I should be doing things like I I find it's great for meetings not the Apple watch I've got my own LG one it's great for meetings if cuz there'll be times where I'm in a

meeting and I might be sort of keeping an eye on something else and I'll go like just tell people to message me or email me and it'll pop up my phone so I can just check it and reply if I need to on your watching me without leaving the meeting yeah yeah I'm sure it'll probably be handy for that uh I like I said I turned uh all the social media crap off I just get emails and I get slack messages for work on it and stuff the other thing it is absolutely grateful is when you're in a city you don't know and you're walking around oh yeah it does have Maps great for directions yeah that is very cool uh it's got Siri on it so I can talk to it uh if I want I don't do that very often cuz I feel like a crazy person the price was was good they reduced it I was happy

with it so the new ones I cellular I don't I don't want people [ __ ] calling me on my watch I you get to feel like you get smart man young Matt weird cuz even with my one it's got LTE but I don't have a SIM card in it but I can still take phone calls on it from my phone I I can I just have that to I have that disabled but yeah I could but mat when you were say seven years old and we would watch shows like Inspector Gadget uhuh uh did you ever think you would have a [ __ ] watch that you could this is a story that I got reminded of I played soccer when I was a kid sort of and I had one of those watches that you know the watches that turn into a little robot yes I do indeed yeah I had one of those and I would just sit there and

play with it and talk into it like I was Dick Tracy and completely ignore the game going on around me and then eventually the coach was like if you're not going to pay attention go home so I was like all right so yeah I certainly would have enjoyed this as a child and now I don't even use it for what I what I used to pretend I used to pretend all people could get in touch with me on my phone and I'm like a [ __ ] off am I watch I don't want to [ __ ] honest to God if someone Rings me now I'm annoyed it's like dude send me a [ __ ] text do not interrupt me text email like it don't call don't don't make my phone make an annoying noise until I notice it right that's just rude if I get a message right I'm not going to I generally I

don't respond immediately like yeah I have I have like I'll I'll set aside some time to sit down and go through my messages and reply to them but then you know like there's two kinds of people there's people who are okay with having like a a conversation over a longer period of time on a messenger system which is how I treat them and then there are people who are like you responded therefore we are now in a conversation and should responding immediately yeah exactly and that's just not how I don't that's not how no I'm the same and I think people in my life just have to know that I [ __ ] drift in and out because I'm a busy person and check it when I can and what I hate is the uh the alert that you've read the message because sometimes I have time to check a

message and read a message but I don't have time to craft a reply and that's something that you'll just have to get used to so Luke we were talking uh last week on last week's episode about how you've been watching some stuff on Amazon yes and uh you you implied that you were probably going to watch the tail job right I mean $2.99 to rent $9.99 to buy right there's another place you can watch it now and honest to God guys I have traveled to many countries with this film I've watched it in Hollywood in New York City and none of those times have I been as proud as this week when I saw that my film is available to download from The Pirate Bay you know you've made it when people

want to steal you can go to Italy and see my film and I am chuffed if I if I might say so if I can humble brag I'm [ __ ] chuffed I remember the first time I got CU I have Google notifications set up for for my music related stuff and I remember the first time I got a notification from some torrent site saying the I think it was the the unhack soundtrack was the first one oh yeah but B the my music was being pirated and I was like it was the proudest moment of my life yeah if you if you do want to listen to some of my music go to brain H or.com yeah or just follow brain fed on Spotify is it the now for Italy no it's not but I don't know if we should be endorsing directly well it's not illegal if if well actually it probably is

then actually I've seen it a few times yeah I'll watch it again I'll get people at work to watch it Luke we need you need to do some followup because I'm going to play this jingle Again Luke reviews the cat liquor thing that he bought and never reviewed oh well I have seen a video this week of Luke licking a cat uhuh with his tongue appendage I don't know what you call it okay there was a reason why I haven't reviewed it up until now go on go on inspector cluso the oldest cat MH not really much of a fan of me okay that's Hannah's cat so he would never let me go it's Hannah cat he knows he knows whose caty is yep lady Vader she's not really

a touchy Fey cat she'll sort of come up to you every now and again when she wants to but she doesn't like to be held or anything like that okay but our youngest cat Dr Watson mhm she's she loves being held and I finally got the chance to use the licky tongue okay can we can you please explain what this is for listeners cuz that sounds [ __ ] weird finally got to use my licky tongue on my cat it is um I mean it is weird that's not big red thingd that that has a bit where you put into your mouth and you hold with your teeth uhhuh and then it's got how do I explain this it's sort of a

semi hard plastic semi hard semi hard L is semi hard when he uses this yep and it's got and it's got like sort of little bits that poke out so you can sort of give the a bit of a lick and a massage at the same time Watson Watson enjoys it she gots a little bit of a comb and just yeah so it's a little fake tongue so you can lick the cat without actually having to lick the cat which which is fair cuz she licks me yeah so it's only fair that I sort lick her back yeah but I don't think she would like my real tongue that's why I used the licky tongue don't even know where to begin she does she comes up and cleans my beard every now and again yeah gets

those crumbs out of there now I can repay the favor and give her like a little brush and a little massage with my air quotes tongue yeah so uh so you recommend this product I do you got to you have to know your cat though sure you got to know how it likes to be licked yeah yes yeah don't look at some strange cat you don't know yeah yeah but yeah like when I got it an Impulse buy and when I got it there was no cat I could use it on didn't you need a cat I'll get you one I'll get you I can hook you up with a cat today Luke I've got a followup question yes have you ever used this on a human being no I have not oh I have you up my

arm okay thaty no I didn't really care for it that much okay yeah I should I wonder tried out on me first so I could try and work out pressure and yeah yeah yeah it's very diligent yeah you know it's not just something that you born knowing how to do you've got to no you've got to cat yeah not knowledge I was born with that's for sure Luke I'd also like to just ask another question you have one cat named after a famous fictional detective correct yes and you have another cat named after a famous fictional detectives assistant correct yes but not not who you might think not the same on no not the same Partners was that on purpose um we just decide all our cats

need titles mhm yeah Oho it's Dr Watson yes it's Dr Watson right inspector cluso and Lady Vader gotcha mhm I mean that sort of explains it I guess yeah I mean you know we'll leave it at that then all right yeah hey guys remember when all of us used to live in New Town yeah no you didn't live there but you came over a lot yeah yes but do you guys remember that near I mean new town was like the [ __ ] it was the Hipster place before hipster was a thing right and there's a lot of a lot of street art there and new town is famous for some of these streetart cuz they've been there for 20 years or more some of these things and you know there's a there's a Code when it comes to street art of not [ __ ]

painting over other people's [ __ ] right yeah and yet an advertising agency a couple of weeks ago just painted over one of the oldest and most beloved New Town murals the It's Like a Jungle Sometimes mural uh which was painted to uh to tell people that are suffering from depression that it's it's okay to feel like that um and it was painted over with a movie poster for the movie mother directed by Darren aronowski Darren aronowski yeah it's a giant picture of Jennifer Lawrence yep I have to ask though like cuz they they would have needed to have got permission to paint this wouldn't they I mean almost certainly they did they just didn't think about or whoever gave no one said no apparently not uh they certainly said no after it was

happening and uh in fact aronowski was apparently mortified when he heard what had happened so he has come out and said he will commission and personally pay the original artist to come back and paint some [ __ ] over this Oh that's oh it had not been approved I just assumed that it had that's [ __ ] ballsy to paint over something that iconic without permission I I assume they had permission well they certainly didn't have permission from the artist whose work they painting over whether or not they had permission from the person whose wall it was is I mean did he have permission to put it there in the first place is is well I mean that's the whole thing about Street that's a bit different like cuz what he put up it's not really it's about

depression it's not advertising anything yeah whereas what this other the advertising company they were putting up to make money right so it's sort of completely different things and for them just to come along and they didn't have permission and just go yeah we're just pay over this it'll be f fine I just don't they get big fines and stuff I thought when I first saw this article I thought it was the the one up near the dendi the um oh yeah the Aboriginal neural and I was like oh my God crucified uh probably they're going to they're going to put it back although I don't really know how how you can well I don't think you can put it back no you can't really you can just repaint it and hopefully it'll be by getting the same artist out and go look go at it again do

whatever you want I hope the new artist takes him up on this offer and comes and paints a big mural that just says [ __ ] off and the name of this advertising agency yeah they're getting good advertising out of it because you know this is the first time I've heard of the movie no really I don't think you're the target audience for this movie no I've definitely heard of this movie oh actually I've heard mix things about it I'm going to go see it uh cuz yeah I'm going to go see it too I like AR yeah because can go see movies for free now I can sounds like a good segue can we talk about Movie Pass we can let's give a little bit of a Sizzle we're going to talk about Movie Pass after after I just briefly tell you how you can support the show as I mentioned earlier uh we are

film so I'm sorry it's good it's a good film but it's not yeah it's a great film he probably likes it did you did you guys know about aronowski Batman yeah yeah there was an article about actually this week he was going W the Frank Miller that's right and he was going to do it like realistic and not like gritty like Batman Begins he was going to [ __ ] scrap Gotham set it in Detroit like Batman [ __ ] went around with a crowbar [ __ ] capping criminals sweet driving around in a Ford Pinto apparently well they got canned yeah that was a while ago like uh before Christopher Nolan films right was it that far back there you go I think so yeah you know what I saw this week I

watched the documentary on the making of Superman lives oh the Nicholas Cage one yes huh so you guys should go to Italy or somewhere else but I wouldn't know where else uh and watch this documentary because it's [ __ ] fascinating to see what they were going to do in the '90s trying to reboot Superman that was Tim Burton at one point right yeah script by Kevin Smith Tim Burton as director and starring Nicholas Cage as Superman Chris Rock as Jimmy Olson I'm going to play a jingle just because we don't get to play this very often and uh and I like this one it's not in here we've lost a jingle hang on I'll

further away from the post office than Jen's yeah I guess so now they said that they uh that the demand for these things was so great that they split the the production of them between facilities and one of them is way behind so I guess mine is at the other one so I'll get it at some point but we went and saw it the other day I'll also talk about in a minute please do she used her movie pass to get her ticket and it was easy and excellent you go on the app and you say I'm going to go see it confirm and then you use the debit card that they gave you to pay for the ticket and that's it done 10 bucks a month uh and they removed the Restriction where you can only see a movie once so well couldn't she have just passed you the movie pass straight after she paid for it then oh I'm sure they

would have coton onto that if they uh saw that you'd seen it twice at the same time you can actually go see a movie single day now you can apparently they reserve the right to increase it if you see too many but then if that you know if they're being we'll see like if I go cuz I'm going to go quite a lot yeah let's be honest and if they say oh you seeing too many movies we're going to put the price up if I don't think it's fair I'll cancel it but then again I mean if they if they said to me you got to pay 30 bucks a month I'd probably still do it because yeah it's it's basically got to just be still less than what you would pay for the normal amount of times you'd go to the movies exactly so yeah so it works really well if you're in the in the US

uh check that Cinemas new you support it and and uh and go for it it's it's excellent 10 bucks a month and you can see as many movies as you want you can only see them in 2D and you have to go to the cinema and check in to get the tickets you can't like book them from home that's the only thing so I think that's probably going to make it difficult if it's like Premier night for something that might make it a bit rough but who likes to get a moved on Premier night unless it's Star Wars right yeah [ __ ] that and who wants to see anything not in 2D right I hate 3D this is perfect for me yeah so Matt I want to hear about it uh but before we get on to that Luke I've just tagged you in something on Instagram can you just uh grab your

were about salted eant that's so creepy I read an article there was a guy he went uh hiking With Friends and he had they had no reception right he took some photos in Instagram and queued them up to post later and they had been discussing a piece of camping equipment right but they never Googled it or anything they were just talking about it and then he got back right they didn't even have cell service at the time he got back reconnected posted the photos and everything and then he started seeing ads for the thing that they had talked about and he was like the [ __ ] and people on online was suggesting maybe one of his friends Googled it and he put up photos of them together and maybe they deduced it that way or maybe

it just listens to you [ __ ] listens Jesus and if it does listen if it listens it means it stores the recording for later cuz you didn't have any cell reception as long as I make my life easy spy away all right then yeah so I I I don't get worried about stuff listening to me and stuff what if it was a clown what if it was a creepy clown Luke well let's talk about creepy clowns yeah do you like clowns Luke oh they're okay I know I know some people are very scared for a I'm not particularly scared of clowns more than anything else no I mean if if a clown was trying to rape me or murder me I'd be scared of that one particular Clown I'll say I'll say this scars guard what's his which which Scar Guard is this H I don't know there's too many of

them now there and everything Bill Scar Guard there's a bill Scar Guard yeah okay Bill Skarsgard is in uh is in it as Pennywise and he's [ __ ] terrifying he's uh such a [ __ ] creepy creepy portrayal uh this film is [ __ ] awesome and you should go and see it [ __ ] yeah I will it is scary uh I can tell because people in the theater were [ __ ] terrified I don't get scared very easily by films so I actually just found it really awesome but uh there were people like freaking the [ __ ] out so uh so that's cool the kids are fantastic and I'm actually disappointed that they won't be back well apparently they'll be back in some flashbacks I've been informed oh that's not a spoiler by the way that's I'm

talking about the sequel right so this this film is an adaptation of the book it by Stephen King if you haven't read the book or if you haven't seen the other film The book's actually split because part of it takes place when they're children and part of it takes place when they're adults and what they've done is uh which I think was a very good idea rather than trying to make a film that contains both they've just made a film about the part that happens when they're kids and so what the one thing I found weird about they hadn't they didn't know if they were going to make the sequel or not they were Bas off how this one went it could just not have it in theory well I think it's uh it's rating its tits off so I'd say it is coming yeah no it ising

they're shooting it next year but uh but it it wouldn't necessarily need to have the second part uh if if they if it didn't yeah yeah the kids are so good I'm almost disappointed that I don't get to see them just in another in the next one uh because you know normally like kids are Terri don't work with kids kids are terrible actors yada no These Guys these kids are [ __ ] awesome like I was laughing my ass off the the the performances were fantastic this film is very gory and surprisingly so considering there children like like little kids it's quite gory so uh that surprised me and uh and yeah Penny wise is [ __ ] terrifying so like go see it is great and it's set in the 80s they changed the

time period the book The kids are kids in the 60s and then when they're adults it's the ' 80s which is when the book was written whereas in this the kids are kids in the 80s like we were and so you'll see things like uh at the cinema Tim Burton's Batman is playing and lots Tes that it really I got really nostalgic which I think to this yeah and just the way they talk and they dress and everything it's just [ __ ] it's just us as kids uh should I take Hannah I only have I've only had one experience watching a horror film in a cinema with Hannah uh yep and she didn't enjoy it that was uh Annabelle but I don't know exactly what it was a about it she didn't enjoy so I don't know I think it was just that initial scene she's not going to like it and then the blood

flying everywhere well then definitely not yeah no's not going to come and see this either Luke do you want to come and see this with me yeah I think I might go sit with you yeah okay we could see it halfway halfway between Luke's house and my house I assume it'd be somewhere in North Darwin yeah Darwin I think okay we'll see it in let me just look up are you familiar with the story at all clown oh this is one thing I actually one of the reasons why they set it back in the80s M back then you did let your kids wander the streets late at night and stuff oh yeah [ __ ] they have a hilarious conversation about AIDS at one point what it's [ __ ] so good the kids are so good what like it's hilarious man we used to have [ __ ] one of them's

constantly talking about how big his dick is like it's just us in the 80s wow uh so I don't remember talking about how big my dick was Luke it's playing in Darwin Event Cinemas tomorrow uh um assuming that you're working so am I 6:30 7:30 or 8:50 so maybe go the 8501 yeah yeah yeah cuz probably a few hour flight for you I know it's yeah I think Darwin's probably about a 5 hour flight for me yeah and I I think I have to change flights I'm going to have to change in Sydney or Melbourne what if you can you get a flight straight to Indonesia no the only I can only get to Singapore or New Zealand direct from camra what they literally the only places you can fly from CRA no no International oh come over we watch it

here there's a very nice cin up the road for me I might just do that yeah do that yeah now we have to book our tickets there before we go don't we uh absolutely in Singapore you can't just I mean it's a Monday it might not be too bad but uh yeah always advisable all right well yeah I'll I'll leave here about midday and I'll get get there about 6ish it's about an 8 no it's a 9h hour flight here 8 hour flight there okay I'll we have to leave a bit earlier then yeah but don't forgets after the if you want if you want to join them uh it'll be too late probably so we got some uh we got some Star Wars news it's big big Star Wars news actually kind left it to the end follow up so we talked the other week about how Colin Trevor had been fired I

think we talked about that right we did yeah yeah yeah well they've announced his replacement they have and I say I can't think of a better replacement I'm okay with this safe replacement but I'm glad they went safe so JJ Abrams will return to write and direct episode 9 that's right J Abrams is back means to write a film so we get to see a reimagining of returning the Jedi now yeah that's right there's going to be another star killer base it's just not finished no I uh I'm interested to see what he's going to do now that he doesn't have to to you know tie in play as safe yeah and hopefully he won't hopefully he'll like he won't play it safe he'll do something interesting but I don't know we'll see uh and it's also been pushed back to

December 2019 yeah 2019 2019 yeah cuz next year's what's next year Han Solo Han Solo movie solo yeah so it was originally coming out uh May right and then it got pushed back to December so yeah May to sort of coincide with the Rel state of the original yeah but he needs a bit more time I guess which is fair yeah if he's someone's starting over he wants to really do a good job yeah at least they've done it earlier than what they did to Han Solo one yes yes very early comparatively so yeah they haven't shot anything uh and apparently he's he's just going to he's rewriting it so whatever they uh had done is is out the window wasn't he still executive producer you think he

would have also had a bit of a say in the story yeah even for n well Ryan Johnson said he was able to do whatever he wanted I guess trevo was able to do whatever he wanted they just didn't like it so just didn't like him yeah and want to just kind of erase him off so that he doesn't say anything like oh I came up with that idea yeah yeah good point yeah yeah I really think they just thought he was going to be a good director and then cuz yeah coming off some big movies but then yeah but then this [ __ ] well hire him anyway he's made four films how how do you go from four films to getting Star Wars that's [ __ ] he hadn't he made three remember we talked about this he doesn't even meet Luke's requirements for making a Star Wars film or even appearing in a Star Wars

film you don't either Dan no no yeah four more no to be fair I didn't think I did didn't think I really requirements done you've done two now right two two feature length films yeah yeah that's exactly you got two more two more to go not bad not bad so yeah that's the big news uh there's not a huge amount other than that no but that is big news and I think we can all look even if Ryan Johnson [ __ ] this up JJ can come and reel it back in yeah sweep in and save it's like how now I don't feel as bad about the prequels as I used to I mean don't get me wrong I don't want to watch them I don't like them but have no longer ruined Star Wars for me

because now there are good ones again I can say I like Star Wars I don't have to be specific yeah yeah although liking Star Wars is a very different Beast than it used to be certainly is it's not not a you know we're not a niche anymore it's just the the default position is I like not nerdy to like it it's just a norm yeah oh I think it's nerdy to like it as much as we like it yeah I think nerdy is just the norm I think we like it in a very nerdy way yeah it's true yeah but no I don't even think we're up there anymore with the nerdy side of it yeah you're probably right where just at where down more so just fans now although I did get sent a list and I know you guys did too of uh top 10 facts that uh you didn't know about Star Wars um oh that's right that

going to be my new segment what I want to rain on your parade no no no cuz we all got that list of like the top 10 15 things I'm thinking about maybe 15 things maybe next week I could just name that's no that's the name of this segment going forward forever top 10 Luke's top 10 15 things that's thought next week I will just find something random it might be something we all like it might be something we all hate and just go through the top 10 15 things fantastic I'm writing this down yeah we cannot forget 10 15 but I I will admit that there were quite a a lot of things on that list that I already did know uh but I don't think I knew that for a long time Yoda was going to be a monkey in a costume no I don't think I knew that either but

that's I knew it was one of those things that was disgusted and yeah just yeah never about a monkey it was a stupid idea well they had elephants in costumes yeah Panther but yeah the the elephant just had to stand there yeah imagine trying to get a monkey to read lines there's a little bit more Star Wars news uh there's a new book coming out that's got 26 stories based on Side characters in the Star Wars Universe really don't like this book it seems cool it's a bunch of short stories from from little little background characters yeah but it's because like some of the stories there were already stories about that you took away and they're now Legends yeah that don't don't and they're actually coming back and the authors like you don't even give like

Timothy's z a little nod or anything and get him to write one I give him a nod give more than a no I know I still it's because of timoy AR that Star Wars is where it is today okay you think Star Wars did disappear for a little bit it was Zan that brought it back in the early 90s M sure and when yeah that came out and I just think it would have been nice to give him some of those original Star Wars authors maybe to give them a few short stories in this one yeah maybe he turned it down I think so was like you know how [ __ ] long it took me to write those books and now you just say they don't exist well he just wrote thwn which is Canon so you know he's he's doing all right yeah but like there's a few others

that yeah just I think it's a bit of a like actually one of the one of the actual story that they got in there about the T assists which are twins that were in um and by the way this story with it is called you owe me a ride see the thing is though there was actually already a short story about those characters in Tales From mely right and yeah doesn't count I don't think it's very nice just to do that right but that's just me I'll probably still read it yeah I've pre-ordered this on Kindle so yeah the short stories were good if you can read the tales from M mely um Tales from the new Republic wasn't that good but there was one other Tales from that was actually quite good

man I've just clicked through to the uh costume tests for uh the tonic sisters and there is an alarming amount of camelto going on here it was a different time let me paste this in I'm just pacing this down under [ __ ] fighter makes sense there it is trying to remember what the T sister story was Hammer something I think it was oh goodness told you oh yep we do we got some other rapid fire news do you want to just fire some news out sure hit me with it all right Jamie Lee Curtis is returning as Lorie stro in a new Halloween film that's cool news I'm not quite sure how that works they're neither are they going to set it 40 years after Halloween I few problems

with that I think it follows on from Halloween 2 right and they're just ignoring all the others so okay cool sure okay yeah I'll watch it uh someone she hasn't been anything in a world she just needs a paycheck she's in t she's in TV shows and she's been in uh she's been in some stuff what was she in recently she was in a TV show that I watched recently oh she's a new girl Jamie Curtis is in new girl yeah wow yeah see yeah she she needs to check so yeah ignoring two and potentially even ignoring one uh as I was informed on Twitter because they want to maybe make Michael Myers not Supernatural which means I have to go all the way back to the first one so we'll see uh but that's that's in
