welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy I've actually I'm pissed off with one of our listeners oh this doesn't happen often awkward it it's actually happened I'm really quite upset with um Nate oh okay like mate been listener for a long time always WR scene always got stuff for us mhm mhm he got to go to the Xbox One stay and play right now I don't know if you know what this is it was uh Xbox Microsoft held an event where you could come and try out the new Xbox One like a comfy room with like a couch and a bed and cushions and right just a really nice setup okay well I mean I I got to

do kind of do that at E3 so you know well well now I'm upset with one of the hosts as well so he didn't invite you is that that the problem well no it's just that he got to go and I was too slow in putting my name down to go and yeah would have been nice to have been invited that doesn't sound like you to uh to to forget to do something well no well normally with like stuff Xbox related I'm normally on the ball like when the Xbox One X Scorpio was announced yeah I have a Scorpio Edition arriving on Tuesday mhm mhm you know it's not not like you to forget to do something Xbox related something very important oh Xbox related that uh you forg that again something you've been

doing every day for years now you wouldn't forget to do it cuz you know CU it's very important would you I you're talking about my Xbox achievement streak all what Xbox achievement streak Le you don't have one for 97 days I did and then on the 98th day pack happened and I got distracted you forgot I just I remembered in the morning I remembered in the middle of the day and then I got back and I was exhausted from packs and drunk and I wasn't super drunk I had been drinking though mhm and then we ordered Uber Eats had some dinner and then went to bed yeah you didn't get an achievement for Uber Eats no okay and so now I have had to start again man and I think I'm at six days do you

know like is this a a thing other people do as well this achievement streak thing oh yes definitely okay were you were you in any way close to being number one no no no the person who's number one is like 3,000 days 3 and a half thousand days okay all right well I mean that's you know not that it it it's not the best still but at least that means you you know you didn't you didn't lose out you know cuz you weren't going to catch up to that you know no no cuz they're still going exactly unless unless you put a stop to them somehow just saying well I had to kept going it might have been able to do something but yeah no it just I got distracted y they've gone

3,028 days okay and you've gone two six six six sorry my mist now six oh it's pretty you're getting closer yes what was the what was the last achievement you got before the incident I can tell you right now please here it was we did have a segment for this before probably abandon that now hey yeah that's good it was from uh Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy the TA to game oh okay all right so it's not not one of those [ __ ] ones that you normally just kind of kind of do wait you did that during one of the days at PS no no no I did that the day before on the Thursday Friday the first day packs I the first day you forgot gotcha gotcha

I get I get mixed up now cuz we're in in different uh you know past yeah exactly yeah I don't know what's going on in the future I just can't keep up with it so I'm seeming another thousand days and cuzz I want to hit that thousand so I've got a three years to go jeez all right well that's fine they've got you uh they got you forit long until they change up uh the way the achievements work and ruin the whole yes which they are talking about doing soon oh really yes there's actually talk of them because there are people like me who love to get achievements yeah and then there are other people who like to play the same game all the time oh okay so there are people who play probably just as many hours of games as me but they're playing into one game so it doesn't really but

the gamer score doesn't reflect so try to work out a way if there's a way to level that out a little bit but I haven't heard much about that since yeah cuz that would uh require changing it quite a bit because they might just bring in time sensitive ones like if you play a game for 10 hours you get an achievement and just builds up that way maybe but yeah I as I said I don't know much about it developers could Implement that now right um There are rules for achievements right what and you can't they can't just be time based um well no they they could but they'd still only be at that every Xbox game could only have a th000 gamer score oh of course and so that's still the problem cuz someone might get a th000

then they might play it for another 400 hours but they don't get any more for it what if say you were going to packs for the weekend so you're like oh I need to be able to get achievements for the next 3 days so you just leave your Xbox on and rack up some of these time based ones I'm sure they've thought of this I'm just saying yeah that's the the the first problem that I can see with it I yeah I don't know if they will do it we'll have to wait and see yeah all right I hate achievements they ruined gaming for me but God I love them rip Luke's achievement streak and uh that and then rip Nate as a listener I guess Luke's you're dead so jealous so jealous where was it in Sydney obviously yeah it

was in Sydney yeah I told him I was jealous when he posted his pictures on Instagram yeah of course next time you have to pay more attention I'm normally so good I went through a wedding honeymoons trips to America Japan that's why when you when we got that snap we were like no he's got to be joking like I even done two paxes yeah like it's not I was playing for it I had my Windows phone I had my laptop so I had game to go here I know you came here you you kept it up several times when you were here yeah like twice that I can think of probably more than that right cuz you came for our wedding and then you came to New York as well mhm yeah yeah I spent like seven weeks out of the country yeah and I was able to keep it

going uh speaking of packs mhm we received a message for you that you yeah I'm assuming you didn't get it because you don't you know you don't really check the social media um no uh but we've basically we've been asked to to speak with you about your Kickstarter backing of of brief battles by Juicy cupcake the developer juicy cupcake they're from Adelaide and uh they like you and they like what you do but they they do think that you should uh maybe increase your uh your pledge cuz they're pretty confident that you're going to want one of those mugs that they they're offering on the kickstarter for uh brief battles and so yeah they wrote in and they they said this is the message cheers for the mention of brief battles

Luke you should totally upgrade your pledge to mug and beta just think about how useful that mug would be so I don't know if you you already had a conversation with them about this I told him look I'll I'll ask him I'll put it in the official request for the pledge to be raised but you've got a boss uh who you're going to have to clear it with I just did it all right then well all right that was easy so if you're a game developer and yeah if you're a game developer and you want Luke to spend money on your game just ride in and he'll do it that's I think that's how we've discovered that's how this works now I'm very easy oh I should just make sure that I did the right one though the right game well no I did the right game

but I want to make sure I got the right um platform oh okay I did notice I noticed on the on your packs episode actually listeners check out Hannah and Luke on their packs recap episode it was a good episode good job guys I enjoyed it mhm yeah it was good check it out if you want to know what they're talking about you played a bunch of games at Pax talked about them one of them being brief battles and uh yeah the developers rode in they were suitably pleased with your statements about their game but they did feel you should have spent more money on it so and now we've rectified that yes I'm I'm okay with that cool um so digital Delux is for Windows or Xbox one it's you and I digital

[Applause] downloads choose one of seven designs yeah I think it'll be fine okay I'm pretty sure that'll that'll be that'll hook me up very good if I depict the wrong one cuz honestly guys I know how expensive a mug is yeah I know how expensive it is to send them out yeah because you used to order a bunch cuz we handled merch like idiots for a long time oh yeah yeah Edie merch that people got from us we lost money on that oh yeah Luke would order a bundle of what 10 mugs at a time yeah and then just send them to people yep never charge for them no and postage is expensive in fact we had to send a replacement out to listen to Chris uh mhm because he uh he's got stolen actually that started a whole thing a while ago we an update on that Chris if uh if you're there would

good and I'll just fill this in quickly while I'm here God's sake I can get free well it's not free stuff it's uh stuff I gave money to yeah this is so unprofessional that's what I do submit okay I'm back all right speaking of unprofessional behavior MH Uh Kevin spy got fired do do we want to talk about Kevin spy I don't know I don't know about that honestly I didn't hear much about it all I heard was uh person came out yep said he went to a party at Kevin's house Y which is a bit weird that a 14-year-old was at the party but well it's not if you if you if you follow the story that weird it's uh yeah I haven't read this follow the story at all but uh unfortunately it's

not weird Kevin spacy sort of climbed on him a little bit while he was drunk and then Kevin spacy came out and went didn't actually apologize for doing it no he did he did he sort of said don't remember I'm sorry if it happened by the way I'm gay basically yeah and I think the people are mad at him about it obviously uh for for various different reasons uh but I think uh from his point of view this happened in the 80s for reference and I think I think spacy himself was about 20 years old when it happened and he doesn't mention this in his statement but I I mean again and this could be speculation but I think the idea is that he didn't realize the kid was 14 that old that young which and so that's why he's been a bit

dismissive because at the time yeah he he didn't realize or whatever and so yeah he hasn't he's not done a very good job of defending himself uh basically and also people are very upset that he combining the fact that he's gay with the fact that he tried to have sex with a 14-year-old they're saying that's not a nice way you know that that doesn't necessarily fit together and there wasn't really any reason for him to have done that and I think one of the reasons why he's maybe not going into much details is he sort of doesn't want to add fuel to it he should have just said nothing if if you just really wanted to try and like Let It Blow over yeah I I don't know but uh but he's been fired now yes he's been fired from uh from House of Cards Netflix actually said they were going

to first they said they we're going to cancel it and then they said no we're just going to stop production for now and now they've said no I I they're going to keep going but they're just going to they fired him so yeah there sort of Cu there was always talk that this was going to be the last season anyway yeah and he's not going to be involved in any of the spin-offs that that they have I've never watched the show so I don't really know what uh what it's about or he's a president and he murders people all right I've only seen one or two episodes ah sort of while Hannah's watched and I'm not allowed to watch it with her anymore because I ask questions like how old is that kid that Kevin space he's trying to make out with well apparently this behavior is uh

has been known and parodied before it's just this is the first time that anything's kind of come up come of it and this is happening a lot lately it seems like Hollywood is [ __ ] Bret R there always been rumors about it but I'm happy it's actually just coming hope they get it but the thing is this has happened before you know like uh it came out a few years ago Brian Singer uh was was up to the same kind of well actually worse than what what they're saying Kevin spacy did in this particular case I don't know you know there may be other incidents that we don't know about but in this particular instance Kevin spacy did not like you know the kid said no and then he left him alone after a bit of harassment but I mean which obviously I'm not saying

that's all right I'm just saying we've heard much worse things about certain people and nothing really came of it so but but there's quite a lot of it going on at the moment uh so I guess that's good we can clear it out and just burn it all to the ground and start again maybe yeah yeah something needs to happen yeah it is one thing I think is bad because there has been for so long it has been hard for people to come out and say stuff when it's happened right so I'm happy that it's becoming acceptable for people to say that stuff's happening and can try and stop it from happening into the future yeah yeah well cuz as I said stuff like this has come out before and not and again allegedly I'm not you know whatever I don't know I mean we we maybe

uh you weren't there no I mean we did uh we did break news about certain other celebrities earlier in in the life of this podcast uh we're never going to bring up again no wait to see if that pans out uh but yeah as I said said in the past stuff's come up and then nothing's really happened it's just kind of disappeared again but it certainly doesn't seem like that's what's happening this time like I said Brett Ratner has been been uh accused of various things and he's had mner Brothers terminate their relationship with him so he's Cosby Cosby yeah binstein obviously Kevin Smith's doing a nice thing about that what's that what's he doing well he's basically for any money that he gets from anything that

was done with the Weinstein yeah he's just giving that to charity now okay well as Charity supporting women and stuff that's that's good but there's there because there' have been certain allegations that that I don't know about him in particular but certain people that he that he's worked with a lot knew about this stuff and uh were kind of a little bit complicit in it and so like I think it's good that he's doing that but also that might just be because he's worried that he's going to get dragged down in all as well because no I think it's more so the fact that he's just always spoken highly of him and not known this right okay and now he's sort of well if he genuinely didn't know then that's fine because people have accused a lot of people of

knowing and not doing anything so yeah there are a few people who have actually even sort of said like we knew of stories but they didn't do as much as they could have well this is has very publicly accused you know Ben Affleck of of covering up for him so like I said anyway let's go away from this let's go to something fun yeah no worries uh what do you want to talk about instead murder murder yeah murder's fun who's killed someone this is a really interesting story well I find it interesting there's a uh a gentleman by the name of Peter Madson he's he's from um Sweden Swedish gentleman who I think we actually have reported on him before because he built a subm Marine it's it was at the time the world's largest privately owned and

constructed submarine I don't think it is anymore other people have built them but he uh he built a submarine he then funded uh I think I think he used Kickstarter for for either the submarine or for maybe for this the space Venture he's trying to build a rocket to to put people into space privately and I think okay I think we've talked about that before too uh and then also he murdered a reporter and dismembered her body that happened as well so he's famous for three things I guess now and the reason that we're talking about it again now is because it's kind of an evolving story because this reporter uh her name is Kim wall she was doing a story on his space thing his his his attempt to to make a rocket to put

someone up into space okay and then from from I'm going to say allegedly a lot just just because uh allegedly she was on his submarine uh and at first he said he dropped her off ashore the night before the submarine sank and then he was rescued from the sinking submarine uh and at that time he said I don't know where she is I dropped her off last night and then she was missing uh since then they have found her uh her legs and head floating in a bag and said well that's suspicious uh questioned him again and he said oh that's right yeah

there was an accident uh and I dropped a hatch on her head and she died why were her legs and stuff in a bag it's a good question uh so in response to that he said oh yeah sorry no there was a there was a carbon monoxide leak from the engine in the submarine and um and she died of that and then so why were her legs in a bag oh uh no I cut those off uh to get her to more easily get her out of the submarine while it was sinking uh so yeah legs and head actually just dismembered the body completely uh yeah and so the police have found a saw blade uh that they believe he used to perform you know the the dismemberment

and some forensic evidence that uh she did not in fact suffer a blow to their head or or anything else um and and also blood on his clothes and and yeah they're they're they're probably going to uh probably going to hit him up for the murder of of this journalist uh oh and they also found uh again allegedly found videos of women being tortured and decapitated on a computer at his space lab uh he denied that the videos were his and it's a Co incidence that he murdered and decapitated a woman uh this guy sounds crazy yeah yeah so uh not only yeah he built a submarine he's building a rocket and he's a murder how do you go from submarine to a rocket though I think they're very different things yeah well uh it's kind of related cuz one of them goes very low and one of

them goes very high so I guess it's just about you know wanting to do those two things like uh I'm sure no he does uh what's uh God damn what's his name uh James Cameron you know he goes to the bottom of the ocean and uh and now he's got planetary resources where he's going to go into space is has he started that yet I don't know what's going on with that I got very excited when they announced it and then they had a Kickstarter and then nothing really happened they were going to build that space telescope that everyone could use where is that I'd like to use that please yeah I know you were looking forward to going up and Mining asteroids yeah yep yep I've had to move on now I'm

uh I'm we've we've got Elon musk's Mars colonization Mission now that's the that's what I'm hanging my hopes and dreams on would someone just do it well I think if anyone is going to it's probably going to be he on musk because he actually has the money and and it seems like he's kind of's he's actually having a go at it he actually does go ahead with stuff he says he's going to do yeah well he does his best that's that's for sure and uh he has said that all of his other stuff you know he's doing Tesla and he's doing um the solar panels and the the the boring company which is uh actually that's quite interesting as well you know they're going to build underground tunnels for traffic instead of Roads cuz oh CU people keep saying where are the

flying cars uh it's the future and he's saying no that's a terrible idea well we need to do is build tunnels and uh so the self it'll be self-driving cars in theory you you'll end up get on a little elevator which will take you down and then you just blast through a tunnel to uh like instead of on a highway and then we don't have to worry about roads being on the surface you've got in well infinite but you've got quite a lot of room underground to do all that y but he's doing all that stuff just to fund the Mars mission like that's his his life's work is going to be the Mars mission and everything he does is in order to to raise money which he will be putting into the Mars mission and the the like that's where all his money is going to go and if it comes

down to it and he has to personally put his last dollar into it that's that's what he's going to do apparently so it sounds like he's your best bet yep as listen going to Mars yeah as listeners know we want to get Luke to Mars so it sounds like that's your best bet okay so musy if you can get in touch with me and we'll sort out how I get the Mas that'll be great yeah now what have you got to offer Elon Musk in the way of assistance in getting to Mars cuz he's got a lot of he's got a lot of scientists and uh and skilled engineers and and uh and you know he's got a lot of lot of lot of brains on this what have you got to bring to the table well they all sound like they'll be boring so I'll bring the fun okay all

right the sense of humor yep your beard yep and your Xbox yep so if they need I think I'd still be able to download games up there wouldn't I it just be really slow I'm sure he'd figure that out I think he's a gamer as well probably so I'm sure they've got that figured out all right yeah so yeah yeah that's what I I can bring stuff cuz you don't need if everyone's a scientist up there it's not going to work that is a good point you need a way for people to blow off steam and I can help with that all right very good well yeah he's saying he reckons uh like soon they're going to be able to do this so uh his his timeline is very optimistic so it actually like our lifetime he's talking like a colony a colony there so so yeah there you go our lifetime like

we're going to be healthy lifetime or the end of our life I think he's talking we're going to be we're going to be healthy I believe he said something about within the next 10 years at one point it might even have been less time than that well Mars one's going in 2020 so is it though is Mars One going in 2020 well that's what they said well they're leaving you behind when they go cuz you he didn't filling the paperwork so that's not really relevant does the first person get there to get to own it to own Mars yeah that would be you think they haven't thought of that like some guy's going to like barge his way to the front of the line and be like my planet called dibs I give to try second person calls shotgun that's the vice

president of Mars well you going to have to get there first it's all there is to it all right what would you name the city Luke you were going to say that all right and then Luke 2 Luke 3 Luke 4 or yeah yep yeah it's going to be great what we have to do now did you go to the movies yeah I did so you did manage to see a little movie called Thor Ragnarok I did I did indeed what did you think I don't want to talk about spoilers or anything because I spoilers always two week no I'm just warning I'm just letting listeners know uh just in case they're worried because you're a Loose Cannon and I want to make sure the listeners

know that we're not going to do that yet because I know it's been out in Australia for a while already but it only came out here the other day like uh Thursday so what like four or 5 days ago so we're going to give two week spoilers yeah we got to wait a while which is a shame I don't know why they have to why we have to wait so long for it but yeah that's a weird thing I don't know why you had to wait longer yeah I really enjoyed it the way I look at it is that they have made a modernday 80s movie yeah I would pay that I I was a little concerned beforehand about the humor because as we've discussed on this podcast before I didn't find what we do in the shadows as funny as everyone else seems to I feel his humor can be a little

cringy and and I was concerned because they said that it was very you know they were improvising a lot of lines and and then and then yeah I was I was a little concerned about that but no there was a little bit of that there were a few jokes that I felt were like G God but uh but overall that was not the case it was very funny it was very entertaining the action was good visually it was it was very beautiful beautiful film oh I loved all the colors yeah and the music yeah they did a very good job they like excellent in fact and I think it was uh it was a good change from the kind of dire tone of the other Thor movies they still have comedy in them all of them but they it was just was overall very lighthearted but I mean they can't all be like that though so hopefully that's

not a thing they're going to do now is they're all just going to become Guardians of the Galaxy so like don't do that just no I think that's where Marvel's doing will they are there is a mixture of everything that they have yes and I like that the uh they they're kind of going in you know we've got Infinity War coming up Infinity war is the next one and so it's I think it it's kind of the the what do they call it the cosmic Marvel Cosmic way yeah like they're they're kind of moving everything it's got the space stuff in it too now like it started you know with just superheroes on the planet on Earth and then now you got this kind of space element coming in a bit more you know like spaceships and science fiction and stuff and I don't know I think they're

doing a pretty good job cuz it is kind of I mean we talked about this when they first said they were going to do Avengers there's like a lot of weird [ __ ] in comics like like all of these characters wouldn't necessarily work together but they they seem to be pulling it off well the next movie that's actually coming out is an infin world it's actually black panther so they're going oh that's true that's yeah yeah I don't know about that so that's not going to definitely not going to be in Space the trailer for that I saw the trailer for that again actually there's another trailer I would like to discuss again after that yeah I wasn't that excited for black panther it looks like there's there's overall like the the concept of it and and the

and and like it all looks good like it looks great it looks like I could really enjoy it but I don't like the fact that cuz he's just a guy right who wears a suit and that's he's a superhero like which is fine but he doesn't I mean unless I'm misunderstanding his backstory he doesn't have like superpowers as such he's more of a Batman type guy he's a guy in a suit doing stuff but in the trailer so in the trailer he's doing like Spider-Man level [ __ ] like flipping over cars and and stuff like that and like I don't know it just doesn't doesn't work for me as well see whereas I find like Captain America right he does have superpowers but when he's doing superhero stuff it looks more like a human with superpowers

doing you know like I don't know how to explain it just the the way he moves the way his super strength is portrayed it it feels more grounded whereas cuz I felt like a lot of the special effect he shots in the Black Panther trailer were very over the top and I'm going to have a hard time with it the way I feel like the the DC movies have been handling it where it's just too too much like it doesn't feel like I'm watching superheroes it feels like I'm watching a cartoon yeah you know well I just did look up yeah he does have no actual superpowers yeah apart from he's just got the Batman superpower which is to be rich right exactly yeah he's kind of like the the Batman of Africa Tony Stark doesn't have money it doesn't have superpowers he's good yeah yeah but he

doesn't he doesn't does do the jumping around the fast running and everything but the suit just must all yeah yeah I know yeah you're right you're right I'm sure they've explained it I hopefully it's just I watched it and there's a if you've seen the trailer you know what I mean there's a bit where the car crashes and he does like a flip and it's very Spider-Man and like he lands on the car and I was like he doesn't have like powers like that I thought so it's just that style of action that I don't like uh and I talked about it in relation to The Hobbit where it's coincidental that the the person survives like it's luck to a degree as well I don't like it I don't like when that happens like in The Hobbit where they're you know like they're goofing

around in the the mine and one of them Falls it's like who and oh he he happened to land in a cart that was zooming by and it's like this is dumb well they couldn't kill him I know but the only reason he survived was like luck it's just you know what I mean sorry listeners I'm getting ranty I think it looks all right I'm just worried about that aspect of it well we wait and say that's in February next year there's only one more movie coming out this year I care about what's that Star Wars yes that's the other trailer I wanted to talk about um because I saw the Last Jedi trailer again and I really don't like that trailer I I dislike it very much and it makes me very worried that I'm not going

to like this movie like very seen the new trailer there's a new 45C one oh I've seen I think I've seen it without the sound on at like at a at a bar is it the one where Luke's in the Falcon yeah yeah I've seen I've seen it without the sound I'll watch I'll watch it after this yeah well yeah but we're all going to go see it there's no worry about that oh yeah I mean you don't worry you're getting my money Disney it's just I might I and I'm just worried about it the trailer just looks bad to me do you want me to send you message if I liked it or not because I will see it before you no I don't no I'm going to see it anyway and I don't want to be influenced I just want to I want to go in and see it and and see what happens are you going to go midnight screening

um probably we'll see we'll see what uh what I'm up to cuz I already have my ticket it just looks like there's too much too much CGI [Laughter] like any movie Hayden christensen's been in he's that's that's a different film no that was jumper wasn't it yeah that's jumper not to be confused with sweater which is also a different film that's the American version of Jumper and or pullover now luer is the one with um uh what's his Bruce Willis yeah Bruce Willis and uh and they where they change the rules of time travel all the time yeah or they're just the the they're the dumb rules of time travel I don't know maybe I should give it another shot probably not though

rating on iTunes that is also a really great way to support us without having to spend any money if you don't want to spend any money and I'm going to do that one day I should have to unlock my iTunes account [ __ ] sake how hard is it it's probably probably is hard I haven't logged into it for years oh it's cuz you're everything you own is on your Xbox right all your media and everything yep I got a Movies Anywhere update by the way because you know I said they don't have they sto linking to Microsoft oh yes yeah they also they don't have everything linked up so like there's a couple of of movies that I have on various platforms I link them all up and they don't all come over so I think it's to do with the studios so yeah it definitely have to be with

licensing yeah so listeners if you're going to sign up for that service which I do recommend it is good but just double check uh you know if you're going to buy a movie and you expect it to to proper at to all the other platforms um check first so we not explaining what this is very well just in case people haven't listened in the past Movies Anywhere is a service where you can link up your iTunes account your Google account your Amazon account and um in theory all of your movies will sync across all the services so if you own a movie on one you get it on all the others and it works really well but not for all Studios so not every movie Will Get populated I have discovered but it's still a good way to try and get some of the stuff you do all together oh yeah

yeah it's definitely worth signing up CU it's free and if you've got movies on different platforms you might as well have a go and see what see what does does get uh you know popped over and like it works really well I I've got uh got mx Fury Road on there so that that propagated across everything uh Rogue one I bought the the Blu-ray that comes with the digital version you put in the code and then that went onto all the platforms so I ear that everywhere it's it's good it solves that problem that that that we about before I don't like I don't like that I have to choose one platform when they're so they're all evolving and you have to but you have to choose one now I I'm not into it yep you have to yeah try and lock into one now and hopefully that sticks around exactly

cuz we still don't know what's going to happen once one of these things goes I know well look at Blu-ray right Blu-ray was like the next thing and then I I bought a couple and then now kind of it seems like we're we're getting straight to digital so yeah Blu-ray I skipped Blu pretty much yeah I think that was the smart I brought a couple of things but then just went digital but like what's going to happen steam's going to shut down one day yeah and then all our games are going to go away mhm that is a concern same with uh with Xbox eventually I guess yeah but then if you think about it right like if I go on good old games I'm in some cases I'm buying games I already bought in the past or actually probably pirated when I

was young but like you got to you have to re stuff anyway that's why I'm basically I'm just going to stop buying things unless I actually want to watch it right now yeah most things I there's a couple of things I will buy for like the movies but most I'll just wait for it to come out and one of the streaming services yeah like I buy games because I want to play them but if I've already seen a movie like for example Thor Ragnarok right I liked it a lot but I'm not going to buy it the day it comes out I'll buy it maybe at some point if I can't stream it for free because because I want to watch it like at that time yeah this collecting movies thing is I'm done with that because you you don't need to do it anymore no can't do

it to give away crates full of [ __ ] DVDs when we moved no one wanted them when was the last time you watched one of them exactly no one wanted them cuz it DVDs it's garbage landfill I've spoken about it before I've owned the DVD but then I've just cuz I didn't want to get up and put it in I've just streamed it and watched it yeah yeah you bought it twice yep cuz it was just I was lazy and I didn't want to get up I didn't want to wait for the DVD to load yeah I could hit one button and it would start playing we talked on a recent episode about how Mass Effect Andromeda did not get any it's not getting any DLC or anything anymore and they didn't finish the story and they've announced uh this week that there is a novel that will cover a particular aspect of the story

that people were upset about uh Mass Effect Andromeda Annihilation will tell the story of the Quan Ark well it's actually got a bunch of aliens on they not just quarians but uh that will tell the story of that so if you so is your character going to be in it no I don't think so well maybe at the end that's going to be bit weird I think it tell yeah from what I gathered from the synopsis could be wrong uh the it it's just about that Arc so when they leave and then on their way to uh what's the name of the planet I don't know can't remember I have no idea yeah so just I don't know how they went from Mass Effect 1 two and 3 to Mass Effect androma I just did that game was just so disappointing to me because everything

about the concept of it and and then even just at the start just the the potential was so great and then it's just like it's just a to-do list of running around ticking boxes it's like it's very disappointing for me like it meant to be colonizing planets but the planets didn't change at all yeah it was yeah not for me I did read uh something this week that said they've had quite a few problems with this EA is making people use frostbite the frostbite engine because of that agreement they have with uh I don't know whoever makes it uh the the Call of Duty people was that right I think yeah maybe uh I I heard that quite a few

games have had that problem where they had to make Mass Effect andr and I think Dragon Age as well Inquisition they had to use that engine and they didn't want to and it wasn't the best engine for that kind of game so so again that's I that's specul think um they were having an issue with um that the Star Wars game in it as well yeah the now gone dead Star Wars game unfortunately yeah yeah we just need why can't we have a good Star Wars game yeah like give us a nights of the Old Republic give me something Yeah Yeahs of the Republic was so good yeah but that's that's BioWare that's the same company we're talking about that apparently can't make a game anymore they just make to-do lists but if you do look at a lot of those games

are just to-do lists I agree got to be good at hiding that yeah exact yeah yeah yeah I know what you mean but they the Mass Effect games the first one was was there was less to it but like Mass Effect 2 like the I don't know it's just better constructed like you're right it is the same thing it's like behind the scenes it it is it's just it's just a list of things that you tick tick off checklist list of items but it's the the facade you put on it has got to be better than the one that they put on Andromeda I guess yeah but I will maybe one day maybe I finished a very very good game finally this week I got a lot of rare achievements actually as well I don't know it's that's because no one's playing this game I feel like the games that I like are the games no one else likes and I'm not I don't I

don't know what what that's about CU I find so what did you what did you finish I finished prey oh yes I I loved it I need to start it but it's one of those games where if you said to me would I like it like if if Dan was on right and he was like what's a game I should play next I might say prey but then I'd be like H I don't know like I don't know I don't know if anyone else would like it I I loved it but it's it's like it's kind of odd in a way it's like a System Shock kind of roleplaying game mixed with with a bit of first person shooter it's very difficult and it's like yeah I don't know like I loved it do you have it or you I've got it I've I've played like the first part of it and I killed myself in the helicopter to get an achievement that's right we

talked about and that's it yeah it's got a very uh like I found the story very compelling and I found the game play to be pretty good it was frustrating in Parts it is quite difficult uh in sections but okay overall I loved it I thought it was really good and the other like the other one I was thinking about this is um mankind divided is is another game these are probably my two top games this year um prey and Mankind divided and I don't know it just I'm like they're not why didn't anyone else like him as much as I seem to no people do I'm sure I'm sure maybe I'm just a game hipster and I didn't realize although I feel like if anyone was a game hipster on this podcast it would be you me no I play everything yeah I know but you invented hipsterism like they they stole

stole stole yeah they stole their look from you they stole not caring what anyone thinks from you MH yeah and then turned it into not caring but making sure that people know that and caring Lots yeah that's right you got to make sure they're aware that you don't care yeah I actually just don't care so yeah check out prey everyone even though I'm giving it slightly wish washy endorsement I will try and play it and finish it for next week all right like I love probably won't I love that that doesn't necessarily mean anyone else will because I doubt myself now well I I think the next game you're going to get would probably be Wolfenstein wouldn't it yeah yeah just come out yes I do I do want to play that I've got to finish the old blood because

I'm partway through that so uh I'll do that and then because we played a bit of Wolfenstein to The New Colossus at E3 and it was interesting I think we talked about this I don't know if we talked about with you guys but we talked about on our recap show the section we played you're in a wheelchair and uh the controls were pretty janky so okay yeah but it was it was early it iffy about playing those games cuz they're just Shooters like well no cuz I hate getting story spoilers when I can't continue playing the game so I always tend to stay away from demos I don't actually like playing demos I get you yeah but did you it's not really a spoiler did you did you play the first one The New Colossus not New Colossus the New Order you played through it the which one was that one uh

the one we you getting confused you got to at the end of it you fight death head the remember the Nazi General and he's in a big I killed I killed lots of people don't really a spoiler for this game either like no it's been out for a couple of years yeah like you know Nazis took over and you got to kill the Nazis like yep spoilers and start the resistance yeah death's head at the end you fight him and he's in a big mech suit and you have to fight him and you blow up the mech and then I think I did then yeah but you get badly injured and it's unclear whether he survives but then obviously he does yeah cuz they made a second one they made another his girlfriend pregnant yeah from the screenshots from the screenshots from the posters and stuff it looks like y

she's twins [ __ ] am I talking about posters from the she's pregnant with twins spoilers what it's a spoiler I don't think poster I know no it looks good yes I do want to play that uh also I got to play some more South Park but I don't know man it's not my favorite game I think it's you have to sit down and watch South Park before you go and play that game that's not going to happen I don't have time for that you're missing most of the jokes I I don't have time for that I think maybe I'm just going to put that game on pause for a while it's not bad it's not this bad it's just not good enough you know I've got other things that I would rather

do sorry guys it's it's a good game but yeah I think you need to watch it so you know what's happening yeah yeah probably true I I finished that game on hard I feel like the sorry you finished that game while you were hard yes H yeah I feel like the first one was it captured me more than this did this has so far like I feel like I'm just walking around doing stuff and this the story is not very compelling and the only thing I find I sort of didn't like about it was I think it went on for a couple of boss fights too many God but I'm looking forward to DLC well I bought the freaking pack with all the DLC and stuff and now I'm annoyed cuz I'm like I don't even like the game

it's not that I don't like it it's just that I yeah it's not uh I like there's other games that I would prefer to play so and I will play them all you get more games in America it's not fair we do uh in general that is true and uh we're also going to be getting infinite games uh if this report is correct because apparently GameStop is launching an unlimited used game rental Subscription Service oh they're scared for 60 bucks for 6 months you can have unlimited used games I guess you just keep swapping them out when you take one back and get another one and you get to keep the last one that you borrowed uh that is the alleged terms of the service um okay so this so you're

sort of buying a game but yeah exactly so yeah you buy a game and but you get to choose you get to take six months to decide which one it is and I guess in theory if if you're Luke you could just play every game in in a couple of days and then return them but I wouldn't because I don't like this program yeah we' talked about how we don't like used games in the past I've got no problem with selling off your used games but the problem I've got with doing it for a business like this is this is how they make their money by not giving money back to developers yeah they remove the yeah the developer from the whole process yeah and yeah that's what I don't like like if someone's just got old games that they want to get rid of and they sell them off that's fine

I'll say this though uh it is difficult like if I want to play if I'm not buying games when they come out I feel like it it's it takes less time now for a game to be not available anymore obviously not with digital that's not the case anymore cuz you can buy all of them but in in stores you know if you wait you know 12 months Stores Only stock they don't want to stock a lot because they don't they actually don't want to sell new stuff right yeah yeah good point they want you very good point you think that's intentional oh yeah definitely yeah okay because they want people to buy the pre-owned stuff the pre-owned stuff is they make all their money that's just pure profit okay especially because they will give you 10% of what a game's worth and sell

it for 95 right there's a lot of profit in that margin well so if you're in the US and there's a GameStop near you and this appeals to you uh it's not out yet I don't think but uh oh sorry the week of November 13th it's coming out the service and you just need to be a PowerUp Rewards program member which I think I am actually because I've bought one thing at GameStop and I signed up and uh the only limitation on it is that the games have to physically be present in the store where you are so if you want a game that they don't have too bad it's I think they're trying cuz you do have a lot of the you got like EA access at the moment you got the PlayStation have something where you get free games as well there are better options than this you know e

access being one of them I I don't have it but if I was going to do something like this I think that's a better option yeah because yeah access like they were all their after a year all their games pretty much go to EA access right like you just get them yeah and then you know Microsoft's got the the Xbox game pass Game Pass yeah and that's got like a 100 games on there that you can just go and play and that's for the same price what's that like Game Pass is $10 a month I think right yeah six months it's the same same thing and you don't have to worry about having a disc yeah the only problem with Game Pass is is if you're in the middle of a game and then it gets removed from Game Pass you don't have the game anymore but then yeah you know whatever if you liked it that much

buy it yeah you just have to keep an eye on on that if you're playing a game I yeah I feel like there are better options than this GameStop one but then I'm sure some people will go for it some people still go into store some people don't even have their XBox on the internet this would be perfect for them I bet but yeah I think this is just an attempt to try and keep their business going oh yeah yeah of course retailers like that are going not everyone's gone to digital yet but no it's it's happening and I give it 5 years before they go away you're calling it now five years five years all right watch out retailers Luke's coming

for you cuz who buys stuff in a store anymore uh I buy certain things in stores but not really not very of I buy food yeah yeah yeah food yeah but I mean I wouldn't have to do that here actually if I didn't want to I could order all my food on the internet I could as well but I just don't like being having to be home for it where else are you going to be at work oh I get you yeah man they just leave packages for you here yeah I don't like the idea of just my shopping being left out in the street yeah that's what people well I don't know about groceries but but uh deliveries just get left on on your doorstep here it's just that's just how

hoped I need to finish Zelda yeah exactly and apparently Super Mario Odyssey is excellent well I might look at getting that then apparently it is excent evidentally they've got a problem with LA Noir going on it oh really um cuz it's got Doom um LA Noir I think is going to be like 28 gig oh now the console comes with 32 gig but 6 gig of that is reserved for the operating system so it doesn't fit you actually have to buy extra memory to be able to download LA Noir and there's a few games with that it's a bit early to be [ __ ] up that badly than constantly just came out and already the games don't fit yeah although I feel like I feel like the Xbox one did that a bit Yeah it fills up very quickly yeah not not as bad as that

though you got one game and then now oh the game doesn't even fit if from what you're telling me yeah yeah doesn't even fit but um also you've got um hold on give me two seconds I just got this I talking about there were words ah games are actually coming out a little bit more expensive on the switch as well huh because um they might have to pay extra to get a bigger storage disc right so some GES are coming out like an extra $10 and it's because they're so big they need to buy an extra storage on to release the game on it wait you're saying the game if you buy a physical one yeah and it comes with the card that card might have they might have had the manufacturer might have had to use a larger card and so

that cost more so the game actually ends up costing more huh well they're just not willing to eat that cost in all right fair enough whatever it's their business all right okay that's interesting what kind of what what kind of storage does a switch have is it an SD card what is it SD card all right so you can swap it out for for a larger one yeah yeah can you can get up to what's the largest size you can fit in one of those you know what we don't know so let's just not worry about that for now but that is an interesting problem if they're only shipping it with 32 gig yeah it's strange they only went with 32 gig H agreed especially when that's not that's very small these days yeah uh did you

nasm.com now I have to Apple AI yeah yes you've got an apple I got an I've got an apple yes yep you've got an Apple phone I do and an iPad and I'm on my Apple laptop and I'm uh I'm all in I got my Apple watch so is uh is your like eye photos is that keeping um records of braiz for you yep it is obviously yeah cuz yeah it just found out someone found out that cuz the even Google does this where it's starting to sort and build albums for all your photos so it's easy to search when you're trying to find something like cosplay and stuff yeah I actually didn't know you could do this but yeah you can if you type in Search

and then type in hat uh it tells me oh W my God it's [ __ ] specific too right if I type hat into photos now I've got hat felt hat and cowboy hat as categories that I can look up and it's just categorized this and clicking into them uh some of these people are definitely not wearing hats so it's not perfect but but yeah type in Brazil Brazil cuz it's a little creepy that it could pick that up it's uh yeah it's got It's found a picture of Carrie Fisher from uh Return of the Jedi it's found some photos from the suicide girls

show and it's found um a Halloween costume photo of Jenna that I guess it may have mistaken that top for braier yeah so I mean they're in there it is doing that yes it is don't find that a little creepy at all no I mean they they responded to this and said that it happens on the device it's not you know it's not like they're there looking at looking through them although I guess they could be but I mean well that's the thing they would have had to have what do you mean well for stuff to learn people have to tag stuff as that to begin with and then people would also have to sort through it to some extent to teach it would they well I no you maybe

but they wouldn't necessarily have done it with with you know with actual users photos they may have done this in-house at at Apple or or whatever their their privacy policies of Apple are actually pretty good I read an article this week about it and how technically as far as privacy and and everything goes they're much much better than say like Google with the Android stuff because for example stuff like that happens on the device like it doesn't it categorizes photos of people in brow on the phone it doesn't send the photos up to Apple and then Apple Apple servers through them and categorize them it happens on the device so apparently well that it can't be on the device because well okay yeah so it must just

no I call [ __ ] on that why because a lot of the photos that you're probably searching in the catalog aren't on your device at the moment no but they were at the time they were they were this technology probably wasn't as good as it was so it probably was able to tag then so it's having to tag it on the servers maybe or or it does have the thumbnails on my device that's how I'm able to view the thumbnails look I'm happy to uh happy to say just listeners be aware I don't I don't I'm not necessarily concerned oh I don't care at all I just all my information is there for everyone but yes they definitely do use uh they call I guess facial recognition it's now just object recognition to categorize photos one of

them is braier it is a little odd that that that is an option and there aren't other kind of you know like if you type uh like box of shorts or you know um Underpants shirts socks underwear are not recognized shirt I think might be let me check it's just it is an odd specific thing shirt no no shirt okay t-shirt yeah like it's weird it went for brail but not yeah like shirt but in saying that though a shirt is very generic whereas Brazil there probably wouldn't be many photos on your phone with a bra there quite a lot okay so I've just typed in the letter T right and these are the categories that it's come up with it's categorized my photos

based on all these various things tap rooms tracks tombs triles television toy tribut how many tubs have you been in you know that I've been in a lot you've been with me when I've been taking photos of tombstones to try and find um ohon I thought like in Egypt Tower tempin tul theme park Australian Capital territory Christmas tree 10 gon hat Clock Tower uh all sorts of stuff [Music] [Laughter] that when Apple's thing does it it does it on the phone or on the computer it

does it on the device whereas if you are doing it with Google it happens on their servers I'm okay with that I bow down to our overlords very good hey we're going to be we're going to be at packs unplugged in a couple of weeks what's pegs oh that's the board game one isn't it yes so Jenna and Jame and I James who we did uh we PX East episode with he's coming with us we're going to be at P unplugged we going playing some board games uh I think James is actually going to be running a few games of sword and sorcery there um so if you're interested in that head on down you can you can hang out with him he'll teach you how to play uh we're going to be checking out some board games you going to go in some

tournaments I don't know we'll see uh it's going to be interesting to see what a packs without video games is like um I sort of know what it is like a little bit cuz you didn't play any video games no no I do but pretty much the Australian one yeah now if you remember like half of it is just board games yeah that's why I wondered if if if they're actually going to try and split them off which would be interesting or if this is just an attempt to kind of do do a different thing and they'll still keep them both at the other packs is cuz packs here is is sold out like it's it's it's huge like they can't fit any more people in them so they just gonna have to keep making more of them if they want to satisfy the demand yeah yeah AA is
