Women's Day present yes I did he wrote girl power on it oh God I did no such thing that would require effort now you know I don't do that that's true that is true it's funny it's funny how Luke switches between social justice Warrior and somebody who refuses to acknowledge International women's day and think there's nothing wrong with black face like so quickly you know what I mean yeah I know I don't it's not that I don't acknowledge it it's a thing I think women do get screwed over a lot in the workplace I do find it very annoying though when they bring up the whole that women earn 7% of what male would earn oh God how is Luke bringing this up on the podcast I know go on Luke go on the reason why I get upset with that is in my profession

there's no negotiation it's you are at that role you get paid that amount it doesn't mean the same role it means overall the wages of women I know but a lot of 30% lower it doesn't mean that there's companywide policies for each corporation that says men get paid this and women get paid this no no but what I'm saying is it's it's what's screwing the results are the people getting earning a lot more correct that's the point it's that men are in a position to negotiate for far higher Sal than women are yes I can't do anything to help [Laughter] that yeah so the razis were on this week yes well yeah the Academy Awards obviously so the Academy Awards were did

Sandler win I think you guys did you guys mention Academy Awards last week I don't think oh we talked about it inadvertently because the Disaster Artist uh lawsuit thing was happening and I said if they won best adapted screenplay Maybe that would be interesting but they didn't so okay well no they did not um but let's uh let's talk about the Oscars first though because I was surprised and thrilled at the amount of love for the shape of water [ __ ] yeah man because it it's a great movie and I I personally think it's not necessarily an obvious Oscar Contender I was surprised when it was even nominated I don't think it's his best film even but I mean it is oh no it's not it's not yeah and it's about a woman

who [ __ ] a fish I know yeah it's not really a normal Oscar Contender is it but that said it's beautiful it's Charming it's poignant it's it's a throwback to like classical Hollywood Styles it's it's it really deserves to win I was shocked that it did yeah yeah it's excellent that's top yeah Best Director best film and then a bunch of others yeah yeah welld deserved although I'll say this the entire time I was watching it I was thinking like H Jean Pierre Jan is going to sue him for the Ripoff of production design in this movie and guess what he is God you guys ever see city of Lost Children yes not in a while but yes yeah great movie but it does look kind of the same but then again lots of things look kind of the same yeah there's some some

guys suing uh as well because he wrote a play that is kind of sort of similar to the plot except it's it's a dolphin and not a fish man well that's a big difference it's just said it's SeaWorld and she [ __ ] a dolphin no he wrote this play about it was and it was like it was performed for a period in somewhere uh it was a play about a woman who works at a secret research facility and they she falls in love with a dolphin that's being uh experimented on there and she uh you know conspires to uh okay to rescue the said dolphin the dolphin yeah I mean that's also an episode of The Simpsons so you like you can't really claim yeah I'm not sure how how many how how far that lawsuits going to go but I mean in year 10 which is

1995 I wrote a play called clock virus right which was basically the premise of the Matrix right but I didn't try to Sue and we performed that at Cambridge Park High School me and Luke gun it wase do you remember that Luke you wouldn't remember but you were in my drama class so you would have seen it we even had the thing where you can just get we're going to get lots and lots of guns like that was a scane some stuff's just I don't remember the collective conscious in the public imagination the only thing I remember from my drama class was you know that that Infamous performance that we've mentioned before where a kid in my class pretended to be raped in an Alleyway does it have a name I feel like that onean play should have a

name uh don't know let's just call it I don't want it yeah and no no I don't want it oh God what I can't hear you of the music what oh you want to go to the alley sure yeah all right God my favorite my favorite thing ever ba so uh what happens at the same time as the Oscars every year of course is the razes the golden raspberry Awards which uh are given to the worst movies of the year um so I'm going to go down the list uh some of these I haven't seen and have no intention of it and some will not come as any surprise to you so worst movie of the year was the Emoji Movie um sounds right I mean I'd never watch that kind of garbage but that that certainly sounds like a movie that would

be utter [ __ ] no interest in finding out yeah worst actress is Tyler Perry for Bo two a Meda Halloween uh I don't know what that is but sounds I think that's a drag queen oh okay I think let me Google I think Tyler Perry might be a black drag queen so it just says he's a comedian here yes but if you type in his if you type in his character Med so type in Tyler Perry Meda oh I see and you shall see that he makes a whole series of movies OHS like he's the American Dame edner okay mhm moving on worst actor

have been saying oh it's fraud they're not making the game it's like there's been allegedly people who work there said that they're not getting anywhere there's no game ever coming out and they're saying no no no it is they have released stuff it's like split into components you can actually play quite a lot of it like you can play space missions or the first person or whatever it is but yeah there's no game as such do I always I don't like playing them ahead of time now I've burnt myself no I find it terrible I just I'm happy to give them money early on a Kickstarter type thing but I'm not going to play it until the game is done I don't want to do a game preview or anything like that y I almost always with you but I you know played quite a bit of con and

Exiles in pre-release so oh yeah like it is good for some people and it is good to do CU that way they can actually shape the game around the community and what people want but it's just not for me yeah see I've I I played uh the reason that I stopped is there's a game I can't remember the name of it movie The iseland or something and it was uh oh yes the the plane crashes and you're on an island is that I think the right game yeah and it was [ __ ] excellent I was got really into it and then suddenly I realized I'd run out of game and yeah it was really disappointing because it was like oh well now I got to wait like like the I i' done everything like literally everything that you could do I had done and then now it was like I guess I have

to wait for to finish and then you have to wait and then when you come back to it you don't remember what you've done and what you're doing and yeah well I'm playing other games now so yeah I should have just waited no the same thing happened with Terraria remember we actually played that together yeah and then we sort of did it and then we never went back to it man remember I I really preferred Minecraft earlier abely ear on it it lost the thing that it had I feel like they put too much in yeah I've seen some simp I think would actually be quite fun I well it's got magic and then you got to eat stuff and oh there are some game mods on there I'd love to play and I'd love to play with you guys but I know we never

will we were supposed to play Civ if you recall it never happened I'm ready to go I've even got I own Civ 6 now as well I can play any Civ game I think let me check well speaking of uh be up games that were kickstarters and that now are real games and that now people on the internet are angry about m I've been playing Kingdom Come Deliverance oh yeah um which I'll be honest I hadn't heard of before it came out I wasn't a backer on this or anything um I just heard about it because it um this one snuck past me as well yeah it it it had a million sales in a very short period of time it only released a few weeks ago everyone was shocked I think we talked about it years ago when kiar was on because there was

the controversy about basically it's it's all white people I think there was controversy yeah oh right well I mean there's a reason for that uh yeah it's called historical context but uh this is a game imagine Skyrim if there was no magic and no dragons and uh it was almost mundanely realistic and that's what kingdom come Deliverance is it's in a good way or a bad way well here's the thing so it's a it's a medieval setting um open world and it's uh they've it's painstakingly true to the period right so everything is completely accurate even to the point of being uninteresting at times you know like normal things that

would happen in a game imagining imaginary things that would make a game interesting are not here uh and to the point where you know how in every game you play you're always the best in the world you know you're the chosen one you know Skyrim you're the dragon Bor you know you're the lone Wanderer whatever in this you're nobody you're just a peasant you get scolded when you try to talk to uh any nobleman you're the black you're just a blacksmith son you're the blacksmith son you're not even trained in blacksmithing yet you can't fight you can't do anything but this game right is great Matt I suggest this for you Luke probably for you too but uh

it's you know I just for starters I mean it goes from just kind of boring stuff like you had to go and get your dad an ale from a Tavern and you got it back to him and it had gone warm so you go back and get him another one right you know just [ __ ] that a peasant might do right to then watching my parents get murdered in front of me having to stand and dig their grave in the rain right damn while a [ __ ] single tear ran down my cheek in real life you know like yeah it's [ __ ] great there's some weird stuff about it though it's it's strangely realistic at times to the point where it's a little bit off-putting as well so yeah it's odd

it's odd and it's a little clunky uh and and the combat is [ __ ] complicated but in a good way and uh yeah I'm looking forward to looking forward to really getting into it yeah I'm looking forward to playing it yeah I'm very interested however I am I I just I can't justify ever buying another game ever again at this point until I play some of the ones that I have I got really into Mad Max for like a day yeah it's a game that's almost 3 years old gone months ago yeah I know but like it's [ __ ] excellent and and I'm like well unless I don't know I'm halfway through pillars of Eternity on the PC I've got [ __ ] Zelda on the switch mat here's what you need to do when you get a game I'm guessing you play on normal difficulty yes play on easy and just focus on the main story

albums uh has come out and said yeah the series of posters that feature one character each are identical to my series of album covers that feature one genr so yeah and they are alarmingly similar yeah it's like even like the same colors I mean it could be a coincidence but I don't know man that's look here's the thing right fcking background yeah yeah same font you know change the font if you're still you know come on yeah look it I think they're cool actually I think they're great posters and I think yeah basing you know this H Solo movie which is kind of a you know it's a bit retro and you know it's probably you know swinging back to the

you know the 70s which is when the first one come out this is a prequel to that to use something from that era as the inspiration for your marketing campaign your poster series is that's kind of cool but if you're going to use something like make it obvious that it's like an homage to something don't just be like yeah rip be cool if like if if even if these album covers had have come out in like the 70s or the early 80s it would have been awesome throwback to it but these are like 2015 these only came out in 2015 like these are new still yeah yes the uh the designer of those album covers has come out and said I'm flattered that the quality of my work is recognized but it is still pure and simple forgery I it's not

forgery but uh yeah he's French I think yeah well okay sure it's just a misusage of the the word but yeah he's mad and he's like the background color is the same the writing color is the same on each of the ones it's not like a different shade no they all correspond to a different one in the series yeah so it's not even like he can say oh I didn't I didn't see a more maybe I saw one of them and I kind of got myself inadvertently inspired no no no no you sat down and copied each and every one but not not that this is the point but this could well be the best thing that's ever happened to this guy financially just saying CU Disney's probably going to make this go away if you know what I'm saying

attention to our movie maybe uh maybe we can drum up a bit of controversy what Can you steal that we're confident we can then pay off and sweep under the rug later this is seriously going to be the first Star Wars movie that's come out since I've been alive that I'm not going to go to the midnight screening for oh interesting I am that unconfident in this being a good movie I didn't go I I saw Rogue one like a week after it came out so I've already busted that no I've seen Rogue one and and also uh The Last Jedi uh at the the very first screening available but uh they're not midnight screening cuz they're always available for Mid I also I was thinking about this today I also think that they need to

break a trend go on instead of finishing the Star Wars Skywalker staga on nine and having like another Trilogy finish on 10 why does everything have to be a Trilogy cuz it's like poetry at Rhymes who cares about poetry it's like Po poetry Rhymes I want I want to see Star Wars X well not the triple X I've seen that just slightly less XY yeah well I mean moving on there's uh there's going to be a fuckload more of Star Wars to watch now uh because apparently John favro of all people now has his own Star Wars series live action that he's allowed to do mhm I think you just put up your hand and you get yeah look maybe but put your [ __ ] hand up

you know where we watched it was it yeah you could be right or was it the day we left and we had time to kill near the airport that was transform transformers got it Dark of the Moon but he also directed uh Zathura that uh unofficial sequel to jamanji yeah there you go actually I'm going to correct myself we watch Transformers in Seattle and then when we were killing Tom we watched that [ __ ] Katie Holmes movie with the creatures what was it called Don't Be Afraid of the Dark what Katie Holmes oh you must have been desperate you're right we did with the little oh that was awful that was it was a horror movie like a ghost house movie Doom house I think it was called Doom

house it had Matt made me watch though what did I make you watch the last day we were in La we had a choice between seeing evil dead or GI Joe was it GI Joe was it GI Jane starring no it was GI Joe because I wasn't I couldn't watch Evil Dead without Jenna so we watched GI Joe yeah that's fair and that was terrible not GI Joe GI Joe to yes was that with Joseph Gordon lit uh he was in the first one I don't know if he was in this one oh he probably was I don't I remember nothing about it the whole thing they had to do there there were going to be these big satellites that were going to just drop rods onto the Earth and cause massive

damage so what they did was they just blew them up so they would just drop to the Earth and cause Mass damage is The Rock in those movies those space rods are actually very popular on the internet people discuss that [ __ ] yeah scrolling Reddit I see space rods all the time GI Joe retaliation we saw do they retaliate against it does St The Rock so what's the problem it l not every movie The Rock is in is great he was great in it that's right it's got Bruce Willis in it what and they just at the end they just go pick him up from his house and then put him in the back of a truck and he drives around with him what yeah Jesus GI Jo retaliation Bruce Willis just likes cashing checks I've never heard of this movie it's very

bad bad oh yeah Ray Stevenson was in it oh wow what a cast yeah Ray Stevenson is the man I [ __ ] love Ray Stevenson I can't believe I didn't like this movie maybe I should watch it again yeah I think we need to revisit all right you two have fun with that I'm going to pass um one little last thing of Star Wars news which I I was like ah do we want to talk about this because we kind of shittle over Ryan Johnson at this point but I just thought this was sort of interesting uh because JJ's back for number nine mm Daisy yeah this is what I find a little bit confusing about this article Daisy Ridley said that uh in a recent interview that JJ Abrams had written uh drafts I don't know whether she means outlines or if she means

actual like draft scripts for all three of S8 and N he'd written all at least he'd written something for all of them and there was a an overarching kind of plot and then when he finished seven Ryan Johnson got just threw his script out and did something else well I think that's perfectly obvious but this is where I find it sort of weird because he did that and then did his own thing and then but they're bringing JJ back to do nine but then they gave Ryan his own Trilogy it just I don't know it just seems a bit strange to me how that worked out well I mean look if if he wanted to do his own thing that's fine and like I said I'm [ __ ] I didn't like it but that's fine people did good I just think it's a

shame that cuz people are saying oh JJ Abram set sets all this [ __ ] up and it wasn't it never it was never going to go anywhere well apparently that's not true because there were two other [ __ ] outlines that he wrote and now I'm curious what's he going to do with nine is he going to I hope he does to eight what Ryan Johnson did to seven it's for if I was JJ this is what I'd do I would actually I would start with some um some alternative angles of that um [ __ ] donkey Chase through the casino right and then just before the climax of that scene it would cut to Finn waking up in a cold sweat and going well that was a weird dream like as if that would ever [ __ ] happen um and then walking out and picking it up from basically the end of uh episode seven

and then Ray wakes up on the island and it's like w that what the hell that was that was also a weird dream and right then begins her training with yeah and looks like I will train you I am still an Klo Ren wakes up and he's like I'm having nightmares yeah shame my M died I can't murder her yeah and then snow wakes up and he's like Jesus I've actually heard a rumor that they might be making a snoke movie to talk about there was supposed to be a snoke movie it was suppos didn't there's no point going back now Christ [ __ ] people you're doing this all wrong people I guess they really wanted

to know about snoke I don't actually think he was even that interesting a character no but you can't I just I I know that and I hate the way people characterize it as like everyone just wanted to snoke was the favorite for somehow people just love snoke no you just can't have the [ __ ] character like that that exist who exists during the time of the previous three films and not mention him it's just weird where was he what was he doing how did he gain power these are questions you ask that you never answered and people say and and I [ __ ] hate this argument too you didn't know anything about the emperor in in Empire or Return of the Jedi yes mentioned in every godamn film but not only that we didn't need to because

there weren't three films that preceded The Empire Strikes Back that didn't feature or mention him Emperor you he didn't he didn't play that much of a role he wasn't even in the first one at all he was mentioned he still mentioned he was mentioned he played a tiny tiny part in the second one yes and it wasn't to the third one you actually really introduced to his character but that's because the first two Star Wars movies weren't supposed to be about a global conflict it was supposed to just be about one General doing his thing and one specific Mission you know and that's that's what made it interesting Vader wasn't even the right hand man of the emperor he was just one of the generals out there doing his thing T kept Vader in line yes and that was so interesting

it's just one Rogue dude who's just like one of those [ __ ] military tough guys who just goes a little bit too far mhm God those movies were good what what happened but yeah just let's see what happens we don't need to know Palpatine CU they they didn't set up this whole universe and just not mention him for three films and then suddenly mention him like it's different yeah it's it' be like if the prequels it existed first and then didn't mention Palpatine and then all of a sudden in The Empire Strikes Back they were like oh I guess we should talk to the emperor and everyone was like who the [ __ ] is the Emperor what emperor why hasn't he shown up in the last five films we don't need a snoke

movie too late now to summarize we don't need a snoke movie no they blew it it yeah doesn't make any sense now and it's too late to fix it yeah it's too late to fix a lot of things man it's just doesn't make any honestly Disney Lucas film please go with the waking up from a dream idea it's the only it's going to be Naf but it's the only thing that'll work Disney Lucas film give me a job I will fix it for you look Luke's a I actually support this because I mean he's already shut down my idea yeah I'm curious I'm not just gon to say yes to everyone I'm curious Luke what is your head Cannon you know what I mean by that right for for how snoke is able to

exist without having shown up in the six films before Force awakens I don't know cuz I have not gone very far into the backstory and anything for the new new Star Wars landscape I don't quite know much about it anymore okay the exting Universe I used to know a lot about and I loved now I'm still trying to come to grips with what it is all right and it's very hard like for I've I've watched Luke and Mari Jade relationship grow and get married and have children over what 20 plus years 1991 we introduced and we also know the we introduced I was introduced to luuka

Mara and uh yeah hi guys nice to meet you and then all of a sudden I have to she doesn't exist at all anymore and that's a lot to still try and get the grips with Y I learned a fact this week that I think is rather nice somewhat Star Wars related you and McGregor right M has a brother who is in the Air Force right British Air Force and his call sign is ob2 yeah I heard about that this week as well amazing that's great yeah i' I'd actually find that hard to say though I would very quickly be referring to him as Obi-Wan oh right well

you cuz yeah ob2 doesn't roll off the tongue for me I think on the battlefield have to be quite specific about who who you're giving orders to yeah obw fire on the target oh [ __ ] is there an OB Stree do they have a sister a twin sister you have to say it like that there is another there is another McGregor which ah back when Yoda didn't talk about that at that time there is another Skywalker who can breathe in space and fly I'm still upset about that scene don't

even I came to accept that she was dead why give her space magic hey I've got a question you know uh you know that uh pilot not pilot that woman who uh who piloted the uh the ship at light speed through the Star Destroyer yeah holder oh yeah hold name is hold yeah um should there not have been a scene where she was about to take off and Leia walked up and went you know what I'll do this I can actually survive in the void of space it's a good plan but you are only half right I should be the one doing it because I am Immortal what's like my issue with the end of um Wonder Woman where [ __ ] Steve tror flies the plane up to to explode and blow stuff up let [ __ ] Wonder Woman do it yeah like she can't

be can't be [ __ ] does she know how to fly a plane by then he [ __ ] killed himself those old timey planes were not very take her with him and then she can just jump out of the plane problem solved yeah oh he probably did he probably did jump out on the parachute he probably crash landed in Wonga or wherever that place is from uh Wonga or Wonga yeah Aubry Wonga yeah and um yeah he's probably been brought back to life with uh by branium yeah and now he's in a Marvel movie and he's like where am I how did I end up in this good movie yeah I don't belong here send me back to my [ __ ] Universe where everything's dark yeah except for when it's not suddenly
