Russell Crowe’s Swatch: Stephen Hawking Tribute & Jumanji Review

okay so I've been thinking about this and I've been thinking for a long time uhuh you say thinking or drinking oh both welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy I've been drinking a lot while thinking about this I think I know why there's no Str walkers in Singapore okay we we'll get to why that matters at all in a moment but before we do what is the reason it's very hot and sticky here right in your pants now imagine no no no I'm just talking about like in Singapore prostitutes are hot and generally sticky once Luke's finished with them now imagine the hot and sticky

M with lots of men being with one woman being hot and sticky is this the podcast think this is the podcast this is your intro this week H's giving me a terrible look it's the look that will be mirrored by all the listeners I like to imagine Luke sits down every week and writes down okay potential intros for the podcast and this was the the top of the pile for this week I can't remember this for this exactly when or why we decided that it was Luke's job to intro the podcast every week yeah I'm not and now I'm starting to regret it this okay but imagine like hot sticky prostitutes yeah hot no no imagine just you me hot sticky sex with okay hot sticky Dan do I get to choose what one person I'm imagining

this hot sticky sex with yes you can okay great okay I'm picturing it has to be luke though oh okay so you imagine that you get wh hot and sticky with that one person yeah they times that by 20 for one day well well hold on that's a lot because even if you say 1 hour per customer you don't work for 20 straight hours surely you don't go for an hour also I mean I assume they're allowed to shower you don't know how long I go for you do not do an hour with a prostitute I'd probably try to get my money's worth no you pay for the hour you pay for the hour I'm staying for the hour you pay for the hour and then you go uh sorry about that but then I don't let some leav don't you have to apologize to prostitute good for me yeah I'll just be

thought maybe it'll be a cheap night out for you so wow that's where did that so you guys are together that's how that's why Luke is forming thoughts about things in Singapore cuz he's there Luke is here in Singapore thinking about prostitutes apparently yeah um I think about prostitutes a lot wherever I am I see it's an interesting business venture and I just got kicked I'm sure you listeners uh in case you haven't noticed which I'm sure you have Luke's been drinking maybe a little I've been trying different Gins okay so on that subject Luke uh is at my house and he I have a lot of Gins I a lot of different G you have a lot of had you had a lot of gin I've tried all of them about twice so

far including my homemade gin so I would like ask Luke compared you know to all the other gens as Hendrick's there there's some Japanese Jin there's Australian Jin there's Jin from Scotland there's local Jin from Singapore and there's a one I made how does it stack up I've got you just below Hendrick at the moment okay all right not bad you got do you actually have a list see because mine not from what I know of of you and your tastes in alcohol Luke you don't taste the alcohol you just drink you get it down as fast as you can and try not to tast is his prerequisite yeah well sure for prostitutes and alcohol okay well here's where you where the ranking might come from is I had Hendrick first then I had

yours and then I had the other ones so so he's just remembering the names of the ones that he can inorder yeah I had HRI but you know that's a testament to both HRI and my Jin because it means realistically speaking the best one should be the one you've had most recently when you're the most drunk right I'm not the most drunk well you're the most drunk you have been since you started drinking is what I mean it's most drunk I've been since I got to Singapore okay well that's something you been there I got here yesterday but I was sick right cuz normally you would have got drunk right away well he got drunk on the plane and then was sick when he arrived so there's that yes I actually slept most of yesterday which was yeah I

didn't enjoy yesterday you'd be jet lagged a little I imagine I don't know how there's no jet lag three hours all right well fine forget it yeah it was just I didn't I worked all day I was trying to give him a trying to give him an out I worked all day started drinking when I got home from work then went to the airport kept drinking on the plane and then got here and then was somehow sick don't know what happened that's a [ __ ] yeah he probably also didn't expect the wall of heat to hit him this is terrible I've only been to the airport in Singapore on a stopover but it was back when I smoked and they had a smoking area at the airport which kind of like an out yeah so I and and it was I I remember I went out there and I was like oh my God it's [ __ ]

oppressive it gets worse I don't know how you live here I'm used to it yeah I it's no actually I'm in a lot more pain here than I am normally yeah sorry there's a reason for it yeah sorry about that it's no it's going from the extreme heat to air con constantly so my leg is not coping well Luke you see the uh you see the little remote control next to the door yeah just turn the aciron off turn it off no but that doesn't help me when I'm out walking entire the pain generator the entire length of Singapore which is what I do yeah yeah what he does it's his thing what I today does he just a long way look this is your first time in Singapore what was your first impressions it's [ __ ] hot okay what

was your Second Impressions then it's [ __ ] hot yeah it is quite hot here it is really is have have you noticed anything else the Heat and then the gin and then is there anything else you've notit sticky prostitutes oh yeah sorry to sleep with the prostitute here did we sorry did we get to the end of that he didn't notice any cuz that's that was his point was that's why there aren't any there aren't any prostitutes because no one want to sleep with one here he's he's been trying to find them and he can't find I'll stop you there if you want to know where the prostitutes are I'll tell you I do I really want to know there's building on Orchard Road orch Towers we going to tow Cally known as

four floors of whes and um and uh there are ladies on each of the floors um just ladies probably not probably not I might like to mix it up I'm getting kicked again yeah I'll be honest you probably can um they go by race and with the higher priced ladies being on the uper floors makes sense yes keep them Out Of Reach of the uh the poor people yeah yeah and they're grouped they're grouped into ethnic categories not by just hotness I think the hotness is implied by the price but I couldn't tell you that for sure it's kind of subjective I guess yeah I mean it could it's not a good business model to say look I'm the least hot but the

most expensive find out why yeah you know what I mean maybe maybe he'd be intrigued enough to be like she must do something yeah like if everyone else is like a $100 an hour and you go I'm $400 an hour and you're a bit plain looking they might go wow you must do some good [ __ ] he's 400 this is our this is our comedy podcast about movies and video games and stuff so welcome obviously feeling you know feeling very welcomed and and you know right on point this week episode of multiple nerdgasm is is it like super illegal to be a prostitute here I don't know it's illegal to do everything here so probably like you can't watch porn Here correct don't get

cuz I don't know a contestant on American Idol a young man um a 19yearold boy his name is Benjamin glaze yes Benjamin glaze so one would assume he's all sticky too he he mentioned that he has never kissed anyone before because he saving his first kiss for his first real relationship a and so Katy Perry insisted that he come over and give her a kiss and he reluctantly went over to give her a kiss on the cheek was it Rel she no he didn't want to do it oh okay and then he went over and he said all right just on the cheek and then he did it once and she said no no no that wasn't good enough he went to do it again and she turned and kissed him on the lips okay so I'm just watching this clip now look I I I I find it hard to to to say that there's anything wrong with

this until you consider swapping the genders around exactly yeah but but serious in in all seriousness Katy Perry killed a nun yes as far as I know well a nun was suing Katie Perry and died in court why is a nun suing any uh it's it's a bit convoluted so some nuns from an uh a nunnery I guess in La tried to sell their nunery and then the Roman Catholic Church went no no no you can't sell a nunery you don't own a nunery we own it but by the way what were you going to get for it no we think we can do better and so they actually put the NY on the market Katie Perry bought it and now these nuns were like well hold on we get some of that money surely and they're suing her um well

they can't how does that work it do sue her no no no it doesn't and uh in court I mean I'm hoping that somebody said something like as God is my witness or may God strike me dead if I am wrong but she did die uh whilst on the stand like oh in call well that's sort of sad because she was so so adamant and probably yeah that's wow I feel bad for for Katy Perry well I don't yeah yeah CU Katy Perry's done nothing wrong in this scenario there property on the market she went I'm going to buy that and then a n died end of story yeah and that's Katy Perry news let's play that jingle again there it is there will be no jingle okay so guys tried pointing that

buffin well I am but look I don't know what the premise of this movie is going to be but I remember that they offered Brandon Lee the role of Bruce Lee in dragon the Bruce Lee Story uh which is a great movie Jason scotle um and he turned it down because he said are there any sex scenes with my mom and they said yes and he said well then I'm not going to [ __ ] do it it sort of makes sense to me fair right yeah um sh has obviously gone I'm into anything I'll do literally anything but his mom's not playing his mom no but he has to still call out his mom's name and pretend to be [ __ ] her okay fair uh it's probably going to be a good movie probably going to be a good movie yeah Barbara stri cloned her dog do you know that I saw it I saw it in the

spreadsheet I don't know a whole lot about it though it's like an episode of Black Mirror uh look there's not a whole lot about it are people allowed to do that now cuz I know Dolly was the sheep that got cloned but can people just clone their dogs now I think Barbara strand does a lot of stuff that normal people can't and don't do probably true we've talked about she's got her own shopping mall underground under her house what fully stocked and she already owns everything thing but she will only shop I'm doing the air quotes here at that mall because why the [ __ ] wouldn't you why do you have to shop well you got to got to do something cuz she still enjoys

shopping she still enjoys shopping but technically she's already owns it does anyone else shop there no nobody else shops there but it is fully St why would you want anybody else to be there she could I mean she could pay people to pretend to shop there if she wanted other people there she'd go to an ual shop yeah but I'm just actually even thinking like if you owned that entire place then you're not really shopping cuz you're just going to go there and why would you do that yourself you just get someone else to go there and get food she doesn't choose no no it's not food it's everything it's a mall it's an entire Mall jewelry shops CD shops probably not CD shops What What In clothing shops just shops like you'd be in a to

see like I know this I've heard about this people work there or is it just there are shops no people work there yeah they have to work in the shops but she's the only customer can I say something yes correct um when you type Barbara strand into Google the first one that comes up is Barbara Stan clone okay that would be concerning except we know that there's a dog clone we'll get to that story um followed by Barbara stri and just her name followed by Barbara sand song okay Barbara strand age okay the Barbara strand effect which I believe is that phenomenon where somebody posted a picture of Barber sten's House online and she made a big deal out of it uh and so heaps of people saw it and before then only about four people had seen it

yep yeah no one cared until she made a big deal made deal of it which is and then under that is Barbara strand duck source and I don't know what that is you don't know what duck sauce is I don't know what it's got to do with Barbara strand right because I Duck Sauce I didn't know what it was until I got here it's just sauce they give you with Chinese food it's basically just sugar oh okay like a source the dream yeah but I guess maybe she likes it and has her own brand maybe she does but I I mean Paul Newman has a spaghetti sauce click the link and tell us no we just going to let it I've I've already moved on and I'm trying to find pictures of the more but I don't think there are any yeah I couldn't find any I didn't

look let's be fair I didn't look that hard but I couldn't find any is it real then according to J that's what I was wondering she's got two dogs now presumably one is old and sick and going to die soon uh and I think it's dead now I think it I think it has passed on I think at the last minute she decided [ __ ] it I'm richer than God uh I'll just clone this and she did oh she got two cloned from the genetic material of her previous dog huh two yeah they took see two seems weirder than just getting one yeah apparently but here's the here's the yeah that's weird

right because well look it's weird to clone a dog just because you love it because a clone is not a zombie of your dead dog it's not reincarnation it's essentially a twin that it never had before yeah it depends on how they're raised and everything well that's the thing so not only did she clone this dog twice right but apparently she's now regretting the decision because what she's essentially got is just two more dogs yeah like it's not the dog you had it's just two more dogs that look the same they look like the dog but they're completely different dogs and she's upset by this yeah um she's very upset well she clearly didn't give it much thought it doesn't take long to figure that out really if you spend a couple of minutes thinking about

it I think she probably could have figured that out ahead of time probably could have or somebody explained what a clone is did she do both at the same time or did she do one and then went that's not the right one I'll try again no I think she did them at once yeah see that's just being greedy according to the research I've done she she regrets it uh because she's since realized that that's not how clones work but she's she's still got hope there's a quote here that says I'm waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have her brown eyes and her seriousness now a I don't think the eyes are going to change color if they're not already the color that they're meant to be then I think you just stuck with whatever color they are well I mean eyes do

as you get older yeah the eyes might be that might the Ser I don't about dogs cuz if it's a clone it should sort of follow my eyes were always this color think they can they can change a little I think with dogs a lot of puppies have like blue eyes and then they grow into other colors I think I don't know I'm not a v yeah look I'm not a scientist either but uh I do believe that that might be the case but the seriousness no I think that decides on how they're brought up yeah probably true yeah so just be mean to them and they probably serious well not treating them like The Reincarnation of your dead beloved yeah because you can't just go that's not what you the first time and you're going to be the same

thing maybe if you taken notes and you go back and you try to do it exactly the same maybe it'll be close is but even then probably not yeah because you can't do the same thing every time no you can't I don't think I want to clone my puppy do you have a puppy I don't have a puppy no better not clone it then best time to clone clone something though would be when they're young sure why but why would you have wanted to clone it why why would that make any difference at all because they would grow up the same well that siblings don't grow up the same and then you just got to back up in case something goes wrong you mean you mean have two of them to start out with yeah exactly not take not make it like take the DNA when it's

young but hold on hold on hold on you you there's such a thing as twins right they don't eventually become the same person just cuz you had them at the same time correct I mean I don't know maybe they do [ __ ] it I don't know come to think of it I don't even think I've met twins [ __ ] I don't know met twins I've met twins I have cousins that are twins they're not the same but did they slowly grow into the same person no did their eyes change color over time possibly I know I actually I honestly think that is thing I think eyes changed color over time okay that's what we're taking away all right that's fine yeah Matt do you want any of Russell Crow's stuff uh what's he got maybe Fu he's got he's got a lot do you want a chariot do

letters oh there you go see the only reason why I know the the name of the band cuz friend of ROM Were Meant to play at the Metro and then Russell Crow came in and went I'm going to buy all the tickets and my band's going to play right and kicked them out yep pretty much yeah I bet they weren't that expensive either no not really it's the Metro like 30 bucks a ticket did you go to Russ CR band did he buy all the tickets and then sell tickets to his b or did he just buy all the tickets and then let everybody in for free no no he sold heel ROM he can they went frz R ROM can play or I'm going to buy all the tickets and then he sold them right I don't think he made his money back but his

band got the play wait a minute hold on hold on hold on I I don't see the logic in this he bought all the tickets to a friend old ROM concert then sold them on presumably believe the fans of friend ROM no no no he he friend of ROM were going to play but then he he went that's not I will sell I will sell out the the venue so he purchased all the he said like just because you buy all the tickets to a gig doesn't mean you are now the ACT does it right no no no he said like FR we're going to play and he went no I will buy all he would sell out the show so he basically went don't worry about getting them to play I'll pay for the venue for a sellout show right did friend r at least get that money

no okay Jesus that's a crow yeah fral got screwed over what a dick yeah you um he's also selling life-size prop horses so get into that are they his um they could be yours is that something you take from a show he's also selling I want to keep the horses he's also selling the chair backs for Denzel Washington and Ridley Scott from American Gangster so he obviously nicked those as well from the from the shoot yeah don't you get to keep your own chair probably not well not if you're working Russell cuz he steals them yeah I mean they belong to the production I assume I have uh I've only

ever once been on set where I've had a chair back and I did not get to keep it did you try to keep as as I might I certain once you're once you're Russell Crow you don't really care if you get in trouble you just take stuff you know what I mean like that I love that blanket summary of what it's like to be Russell Crow no I mean like if you're on going a shop and take stuff who cares like if you're on if I was in a film and really Scott was directing it and Denzel Washington was in it I wouldn't [ __ ] dare take their chair backs but Russell Crow what the [ __ ] does he care he's like yeah so you're basically you're sitting on set you're in between Ridley Scott and yeah and and Denzel Washington and you're looking and you say [ __ ] you say under

your breath [ __ ] I wish I had those two chair back those two specific chairbacks and then you hear voice behind you going just [ __ ] take it yeah like [ __ ] him take it mate easy to you to say Russell Crow he's like just watch [ __ ] watch some guy with a guitar there he just goes look I'm taking it I'm taking it right now no one's saying a thing no one's saying a goddamn thing yeah go the rabitos cuz I'm Crow and I'll take what I [ __ ] want well he still owns the rabitos does he yeah he's selling them too yeah maybe you can get the the auction well I tell you they're not doing particular well this season so no they're are zero for two yeah so I'll give him 20 bucks well we'll follow up on that after the auction ends we'll see if Luke's bid

let's see if it's a silent bid LS on 20 bucks let's I mean look if no one else wants the Rabbid o you might pick it up for a Ste I've got them I don't know what I would do with them keep letting them play football I would say yeah I I'm say what I me what are the options really let him play football or don't shut the team down I don't know what i' do with them maybe form my own band you're now the ice [Laughter] capades have him build me a condo why not was a weird episode I watched a movie this week yeah I watched two movies this week go on uh one of them I know Luke liked mhm and one of them I'm fairly certain he didn't actually we were talking about this just

before we started recording that's the reason that I could of find that that he he differs in opinion on this movie but we first we'll talk about the one that Luke likes uh Close Encounters Welcome to the Jungle oh you like oh you like Close Encounters do you no I hate close encounters so this is just another example of luk going rogue on this podcast I know taking a stance against Steven Spielberg's Masterpiece oh so we are going okay talk about that first he that good no man you you you can call it I'm just I'm just still flabbergasted if I if I may use that word so you didn't like Janie that's no I did like Janie oh okay it's a great movie it's pretty good it's not it's terrible but it's good enjoyable yeah I enjoyed it but it is

[ __ ] Terri fun movie all right for someone who didn't love the rock you know what I mean like love the rock yeah I like him someone who just likes him I would I would I would father his children I know I know what I mean is Matt as someone who likes him but doesn't like like him sure and therefore doesn't have uh you know any kind of super objective to to to like this film uh how does it rate um I I don't think it's as good as uh everybody it got kind of not really rave reviews but it was just everyone was like oh man that was really really really good I've not heard of bad word about it yeah it was it was entertaining I mean it's not it wasn't I expected

more from it based on the opinions that I had heard but I wasn't disappointed it was it was good okay so how do it compare to say Baywatch well see I enjoyed Baywatch more because quity mov I hadn't expected to like it at all actually no I'll agree with that like Baywatch I thought was going to be terrible MH because I heard yeah terrible things about it it's all dick jokes but when I watch movies jokes fun dick jokes mhm like it was yeah completely over the top dick jokes yes over the top of your dick and I mean jamanji had dick jokes in it as well be fair okay yeah that's good it did in fact this is the first film that I didn't hate Jack Black in I think oh he was quite good in this wait do you

hate High Fidelity with John cusac I I've not seen hord deli with John Cusack oh you haven't oh man no what were you doing in the '90s I don't know you Jack Black that I mean it doesn't it surprised me yeah um he uh well I just whenever I think of Jack Black I think of King Kong and he was just so [ __ ] awful in that movie well see I haven't seen King Kong so that's why I'm probably still okay with him you haven't had him ruined for you mind I didn't mind King Kong didn't mind no I liked King Kong I just didn't Jack Black in it I lik the game cuz it got it was a very easy thousand gamer score but Jumanji he uh he's the premise is Luke already kind of

talked about this I think previously the premise is that jamanji becomes a video game in order to fit in which is which I thought was great yeah yeah that was kind of a cool little thing whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa he became a video game to fit in I I seem to rec I seem to recall uh us playing video games back in the day uh and were ridiculed for being nerds which we are that's to fit in it's like jamanji was a board game and then this kid was given the board game and he's like I play board games I play video games this was in the '90s that this took place okay and and then it was a great adaption of it yeah so it it the the the game transformed itself into a video game so that the kid would play it nice that's kind of where this kicks off and then I think in the future it'll

probably transform itself into Cards Against Humanity probably back into a board game or a c into a card game Hiers will play it right and then we just let them live there but Jack Black's character is a teenage girl like the the the player is a teenage girl and so Jack Black plays a teenage girl but who looks like Black Jack Black and it's quite funny yeah I can see why that would be funny I think he plays a girl very well I think he studied teenage girls quite quite in depth so jamanji thumbs up from me and from Luke presumably and Dan you haven't seen it yet obviously have you you should watch it no I haven't will M it's a fun movie yeah I liked it all right so we watched close in Encounters of the Third Kind because I really enjoy it and I it was the 30th Anniversary recently

and uh there's a special edition of it and Jenna hadn't seen it there's nothing special about that movie something else reminded me about it I can't remember what it was I think you had to communicate with some aliens sonically and that probably reminded you true well and actually we went to cuz we went to the devil's Peak when we were on our road trip honeymoon so we've been there and so that also uh I was like oh we should watch we should watch this yeah cuz it's features prominently in it now I really enjoy Close Encounters I like it a lot like a lot I think it's a [ __ ] excellent movie MH because it is yeah and but I know that Luke is not impressed by Jenna wasn't that impressed by it she said she didn't hate it but she wasn't that

impressed by it thought it was an old people movie didn't she what do you like what don't you like why don't you like it it's slow yes that's fine it's an ' 80s movie like 7s Maybe 70s late 70s yeah yeah yeah but late 70s also gave us Star Wars which was fast sure faster it was faster and more intense yeah do do you guys know about the Star Wars uh and close encounters connection I know that they were friends Lucas and Spielberg is there more to it than that there is so Lucas rapped uh Star Wars and Spielberg was currently shooting uh Close Encounters right and so Lucas visited the set of Close

Encounters at one point and had been watching dailies for Star Wars and starting to think is this going to be any good you know I mean Lucas famously wasn't happy with it you know that's why he's still tinkering with it to this day you know and he kind of he called Steven and he was like [ __ ] man I think I've made a kids movie and Steven was like no no I'm sure it's fine come on down I'm doing my film come and come and have a look so he came in out to where is it Death Valley yeah it's in Wyoming yeah and uh not Death Valley Devil's Peak Peak and uh and was like [ __ ] Stephen this looks great this is going to be a [ __ ] instant classic I've made a [ __ ] kids movie and you probably made the highest grossing film of all time and Steven was

like no man I think I think you're really you're really playing down Star Wars I think it's I think it's really got legs and uh so George said look I'd prefer to have [ __ ] backend points on on this whatever you're making here than on my piece of [ __ ] kids movie and Steven's like well if you want to put your money where your mouth is they made a bet I'll trade you two and a half points on uh Close Encounters for two and a half points on Star Wars right and uh they estimated that Steven made about $60 million for doings for taking those two and a half points wow there you go yeah Not a Bad Bet cuz I shim close en count is obviously I think it was popular at the time right it was it was it was an

absolute hit but uh didn't break every box record in the world like Star Wars did and it doesn't get Luke's seal of approval it really does not oh actually seal of approval let's go to geek and awake oh yeah right the we oh yeah that's uh that's not in here but obviously yeah we it's not in here and I just thought cuz we actually decided that you need to go through me to get geeked week and um actually think what we decided was that it was a democracy and that you could easily be over ruled I think yeah you just you just you just have decided that you get to to veto the geek of the week yes but I I'm not vetoing this one right okay this one Ste Hawkings he lived Hawkings there's only

one only one I call him the hawk yeah the hawk hawk Hawkins The Hawk yeah the hawk yeah married to Jennifer Hawk di finally finally I don't say finally isn't a bad thing is he lived like 50 years longer than he than he was given yeah 50 years longer than Luke wanted him to finally about [ __ ] time he really he really outlived his life expectancy and he did go for him like that's awesome I'm not saying it's a bad thing I'm not saying I wanted him to die I say this though [ __ ] what's it doing for him now you know live a million years if you want once you're dead it's like what you may

have lived nothing you may as well nothing that's true but uh you know if you don't know who Steph Hawking was I don't know why you're listening to this podcast everyone know because you followed # prostitute that's actually here I did have to explain to people at work who Steven Hawking was which is really hard to explain it's like what did you tell them yet I I'd be very interested can you I W pleas yeah please explain to the know we might have listen who don't know who he is Luke that's right biography I went I went he's the hawk and he went what and I Tony Hawk Tony Hawk yeah Tony I pretended to have beers with Tony Hawk once go on yeah right you did I actually had I got to the point where it went the guy in the wheel wheelchair who talks

like a robot and like Davos from Doctor Who yeah Professor got from that how how would you explain him that's what he was famous for being in a wheelchair talking like a robot I mean that's not right no but honestly if he didn't know who he was explaining what he does about science and everything and black holes and relativity it not going to help anything just creates a bunch of black holes the guy in theair talks like a robot is probably help mhmm y yep you read any of these books that's fair I can't read history of everything is he right brief history of yeah I don't know how to read books no brief history of the universe it's called sorry yeah I call [ __ ] on his theory that time travel doesn't

exist okay why is that because you'd know the proof that he went with was he had a birthday party mhm yep and then he only invited people after it happened right like told no one else that was happen and then went if time travel existed someone would have arrived and gone to my party mhm how many tickets do you have on yourself that think that people come back to time travel just to go to your birthday party I think it was more of a thought experiment than uh anything else no no no I he was really hoping that they come yeah I think it was a sad day for him a he discovered time travel doesn't exist and B he realized that no one came to his party and then he died

and then he I suicide yeah yeah I honestly think like he thinks he's that important that if time travel existed that would be the party they would go to I don't want to go to a Stephen Hawkings party I could think of better party better party to go to I think we need a especially because you know no one else is going to be there just be you and him sitting in your wheelchairs talking to each other although he's right you know because it's like did anyone show up to the party no iess no but here's the thing right if we do get into the future right if we get into it somehow by just staying here in the present until until the present becomes the future and somebody does invent time travel right there's not one

single person that goes guys did we go back to Steven's party and everyone's like no but seriously though I mean presumably this is quite a story so you don't think someone would do that just to prove him wrong Matt I'll prove to you no one ever will no one did because it happened and no one ever went back yeah I guess it's just not really proof of anything no it's not proof of anything it could be proof of a multiple universe theory yes could be but it also might not be proof of that no one rocked up to that one but in the other Universe everyone rocked up well or every single person that changed the SpaceTime Continuum to go back to his party created its own unique

Universe gdau gotten got some Flack this week for her tweet about Steph Hawkings did you see that no I didn't see it no she said something along the lines of now he's free of his physical constraints and people got angry at her for being an ableist it was it was that that was amongst you know it was just a nice little tweet yeah she was just being poetic and sweet right yeah yeah and like oh like you you only like people he it must have been so horrible for him probably was yeah well that's that's the other people were like if you think he didn't want to not be in a wheelchair there's something wrong with you he was he wasn't just in a wheelchair he couldn't move anything but one thing I mean yeah one of the greatest Minds of our time dying SL

inside of a limp body yes we have to pretend that he was perfectly fine with that he yeah he was wonderful he wanted age he's like this keeps me grounded this keeps me and also that's not what she meant anyway she was just it was just a nice little thing that she said and so yeah but people got mad about it yeah people get mad about he just means his ghost went to heaven okay leave it as right even though and I could take more issue with that because he almost certainly didn't believe that so well Matt you can believe in God or not he's real what I don't know I'm just saying if there is a God he doesn't give a [ __ ] whether you believe in him or not oh right sure well he would know why I don't and and then and if he doesn't

overrated if he exists and I don't believe in him he knows why and it's his fault so I was actually think about this today fans are the worst thing ever fans of God or no no just fans fans of this podcast fans fans are terrible these days don't listen to him listeners he's drunk go on no no no no one says anything nice anymore it's always about how bad everything is oh yeah it really is like no we even with Star Wars we only talk about the bad points we don't talk about the good points no one talks about good stuff anymore it's really sad we do we do from time to time I know but it's very easy for everyone to focus on the negative these days very true we a culture of

outrage on the internet I think the internet is toxic they um they've done studies that show that if you say on Twitter tweets with high numbers of kind of high levels of outrage or or anger or all all that all those those sorts of things are more popular and so people are drawn to them and news outlets uh post stuff more stuff like that because it gets retweeted and posted more it's just kind of all forming this big kind of culture of negativity I think yeah and I don't like it let's all be nice you wouldn't like it and that's why Luke is geek of the week everyone just [Laughter] my my opinion is right and everyone should listen to me y long you're not hurting anyone it's all good listeners

day yeah let's not talk about on Sunday Matt you know what I'm really looking forward to playing what's that I really want to play Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 via you should stop hoping for that I got some bad news for you buddy yeah the uh the project has been terminated right I I can't say I'm altogether surprised but uh do you want to break it down to why am a little surprised Ed by this yeah it's a little it's a little interesting like and I'm not quite sure what the problem was they haven't said as such the problem was with the uh the the voices the acting voice acting so something about the getting the voice acting moved into the

new engine was a problem you mean a rights issue or literally just how do I import these files kind of legal issue no importing was easy right be are actually quite good with mods they're quite happy for people to do their thing and create stuff but when they went we're going to make this and then use all the audio they went you can't do that and and it's even like it's not necessarily because people were like well just don't distribute the the the assets like you can't do that anyway you you provide the mod and then the person has to own the the original game and then you you know you copy the the the Fallout 3 that you own over and then you can you can play it and that's how they get around it but something about new platform the something about it uh makes

it illegal and then they had considered just re-recording all the voices to get around it and then they were like we're going to [ __ ] replace Liam niss and Malcolm mcdal and all these actors like you can't do that ridiculous like it just wouldn't be the same so I don't even like I don't really know what the problem was specifically I just because I don't know if they've maybe they haven't said I haven't seen it Luke have you seen an actual explanation of what the issue is it was actually just the audio that fact I went you can't use the voices you can't use the sound files because but like even even having not they're not them not providing the sound files even people who owned the game using their own sound files they said

legally that's an issue but I don't know why well because like well this is the whole thing like with people voice acts and everything they're paid differently and that's what like the whole Rider strike was cuz they get screwed over a lot and I think that's where it just comes down to like they went like you can't can't have the sound files played in a different engine without repaying yeah pretty much right okay you would probably have a term on uh on the usage and it's probably lapsed yeah it's interesting and they can't just re-record because it wouldn't have the same vocals like they could release the mod the mod's not the problem it's the audio which is always like even streaming they can't they can't release the mod now because it was an open

source project and people anybody who contributed owned the rights to their component of the mod code and because of this legal issue a lot of people have went or actually I don't want to be involved now cuz cuz I don't want to be legally liable for anything and so they've pulled out and so now there actually is no mod anymore it's like it dissolved completely if they just released the mod like no sounds it would be fine that wasn't a problem it was it was the audio no one would play that no and and now they can't do it because some of the people involved audio well also why would they bother would be hundreds of hours and no one's going to do that for free but it is still a little odd

because Fallout 3 has text so like you could just not have the voices so I I I don't know also the other thing is remakes and re like are a big thing these days like they're they're re-releasing a lot of games and it might be that they might be releasing Fallout 3 soon yeah maybe cuz that's a great game I would love to play that again it was very good and if they updated version I would pay for that it's just weird because uh Bethesda as you said has been pretty good with this in the past and there's there's mods for uh you know like new engines from for morrowwind and for uh some of the older Elder Scrolls game and people are working on Skyrim ones as well and then now everyone's like oh [ __ ] Are

they going to have the same problem like is this it's it's legal until something about the the the voice acting is going to shoot all these projects down audio has always been the big thing like if you want to stream a video on Twitch or YouTube or anything oh yeah you turn the music off yeah and audio is pretty much a big part like they had a big strike about this recently which changed a lot of games yeah and I think it's just come down to that like and also I really think they might be re-releasing 4out 3 soon H that's a rumor I made up right right now yeah we know but there anything we've learned that's that's how these things get done like the Rampage movie and J wi taking over Justice League and yep the many other predict honestly if they Rel

re-release for that three now would you buy it and play it no but only because i' I've I have to I've banned myself from buying games okay Dan would you like a Fallout 3 on I'd like it I I've played Fallout 3 through twice I I probably wouldn't play it again I'd play Fallout 4 again cuz I only played that once and I'd certainly hang out for Fallout five all right if they re re-release it I would give them money again I think a lot of other people would oh yeah Ru ruin my story sorry Luke ask me again D would you like to play Fallout 3 again on absolutely mate it's it's one of my favorite games yeah yeah I played over and over they need another Fallout and they're not going to make a Fallout for

New Vegas so just re re-released Fallout 3 it's free money just take it why don't they want money who knows um speaking of free money uh Fox is Apparently after some money they they've been uh according to this article repeatedly discussing Reviving Buffy the Vampire Slayer it comes up all the time and they've said they won't do it without Jos Wen involved and he's not interested in doing it and it just makes me wonder at what point are they going to not care if he is involved and I feel like that's not going to take too long well wouldn't it be the time for not to care with him being involved with his whole he's not actually The Golden Child

anymore yeah yeah Al look I don't think we need a buffy reboot no I do not want one we've already we technically we've already had one yeah it was called series of Buffy and it was great and it ended but then I don't necessarily think we need a remake of anything I'm not quite sure why they why we have to keep remaking things cuz know yeah I know from from a business perspective sure but I also everyone knows the name and it makes money yes I don't yeah I know why I just feel like it's we could be making better stuff not better stuff different stuff yeah I agree so we don't need a buffy Revival in my opinion well it definitely won't be for us it's definitely not going to

be a Nostalgia piece it's it's gonna it's gonna be like the Teen Wolf show yeah like you can't re Buffy was it something of the error like you can't be something of this the the kids that watch it are not going to know it's based on an old show no right yeah that was canell watch the old show and they'll go yeah it's not like you're going to have Spike or Angel come back and replay their characters because that's not going to work cuz they're they're old now but that's the thing is they probably would they would they' have them do something in the show yeah Spike yeah you'd have one of them had played they're not working at the moment so they're going to say yes James Masters would show up as like a different character or something in one

scene actually I think they would all show up cuz who's working in Nicholas Brendan would play Giles yeah if he's out of prison yeah yeah yeah that's right he would play JS but he'd be drunk yeah and uh it would be wonderful do any of them work anymore yeah uh Alison hanan's still doing stuff I think she's not like hosting TV shows and stuff I don't know about I mean Anthony head's a musician well he was always a musician I've just done air quotes sure I think Sarah Michelle G still in stuff right no she's not she's um she doing her husband got a cooking thing or something yeah cook books right yeah Alison Hagen hans's I don't think doing much no she I I me she was hosting

pen andella's Fullers for a while oh really yeah so I think she's still around I don't know about the others oh James Masters is on some of the DC Comic shows I think I reckon just let's bring back Buffy but the original cast and just don't question the age of them Tara mlay is a director now everyone just agrees to ignore that they've aged and just go with it yeah season n just yep that's how it happens there was a season 9 it was just a comic book no season 8 was a comic book and nine also nine oh I didn't know I didn't know there was nine they continued on I I'm pretty sure there was eight and nine at least and they maybe still I knew it was eight well you're correct yep say it's season 10 and you just don't question the raise but you get them all

back well josa said he always wished that Buffy would continue on after his death but you know after his we have to kill him so I don't want to kill him that's a bit harsh no but you did want Steven Hawking to die so I did he wanted more than one Steven Hawking to die he wanted Steven Hawkings to die that's right multiple yeah multiple Steven Hawkings death gasm I want that yeah I want that nasm I want it multiple times okay can I tell you about a TV show that I that we watched this week pleas please do uh I'm going to recommend it to everybody it's on Netflix it's a new series on Netflix hopefully it's available in in the country you live in listener or co-host it's called nailed it yes and yes are you You' seen it we've watch seen them

all it's so good amazing it's so bad exactly it's I I can't believe like just the [ __ ] rough edges they to go on it yeah so listen it's called nailed it it's a baking show where they get like a bunch of people who are [ __ ] at baking on people who can you think they're good yeah well they don't all think they're good but they all they're all having some of them yeah and they say oh you know here's some fancy cake you have to make you have to replicate it and that no one could make if and and like that's pretty that's a pretty funny premise as it is that they make is so off that it's genius yes and like there a woman who who just forgets to put any flour and in

the cake and just pours like [ __ ] eggs and milk into the cake tin how could you forget that I want to know what instructions they were actually giving them but I I feel like they found somehow just the most entertaining contestants like it's just every episode is just really good and but it's also it's got all these rough edges left on it which really I find really endearing like yeah there you know like the the the [ __ ] creu will bring out stuff that they forgot like in the middle of a a shot and like there's that episode where one of the judges just leaves to pick up his kids yeah and comes back in with coffees for everyone and and then and he's like he's like on the mic to the producer going oh yeah I've got a babysitter situation I've got to go no

I've got to go mate I've got to go I'm close I'll I'll be back yeah it's nothing I can do mate and gets up and leaves and then the rest of them are like is he coming back and they leave it all in he's there to plug uh Super Troopers to like he's there to get his movie some so it's just so funny and I old that woman on the first episode she's like tell them what they' won she's like what if they won I like the fact on the first episode she's just like walking in the pantry go I'm I'm going to take this pot I like this pot I'm keeping oh yeah I know and then everyone goes to the pantry and they're just like oh is that vodka everyone's just drinking the vodka and

like it's just so awesome like it's so it's so bad but it's just so great cuz it's just people doing themselves it's just like I said it's just all the all the rough edges are left on it it's like what a reality show is is probably really like before they tidy it up for television like it's like the first 20 minutes of this podcast cast yeah but less sticky although there was there is some there is some sticky stuff in it I mean cake batter and stuff I don't mean semen so yeah nailed it check it out and mostly I'm like I want more people to watch it cuz I want them to make more of it I want more season I've watched the entire season one they need to make more yeah I really want and they must like although the price is actually

quite a lot of money 10 grand per episode yeah yeah so give him like a thousand bucks and make more episodes but they make him pick up the money off the floor they shoot it at him it's just so it's just so good it's just so [ __ ] that it's good it's it's kind of like uh if you got to just make a make a game show in your loung room this might be what it would be like yeah and at first the the woman who hosts it I thought she I'm like oh [ __ ] she's GNA be she's so annoying she's hilarious yeah I just yeah she's great no y I think we all recommend this like nailed it you guys see that uh that movie from 10 15 years ago where Sam Rockwell plays a TV game show host who's also a Hitman no sounds good it's called

Confessions of a dangerous mind mind and it is oh I've heard of that well worth taking a look at okay something else is worth taking a look at that's on Netflix uh it's kind of the opposite of nailed it uh in many ways uh is the documentary series wormwood uh if you like True Crime what's that this is a great series it's about MK Ultra oh the the situation in the in the 60s where the American government was CAU out uh testing LSD uh on people that didn't realize they were in a clinical test and then uh one of them jumped out of window um that's pretty messed up yeah yes and the the documentary is told from the point of view of that guy's son who was only about five or six at the time

who spent his entire life trying to piece together what really happened and the documentary is I think it's six parts directed by Errol Morris who's who's tops and uh it's it's just beautifully made and it's a slow burn they really they they drip feed the uh the story in but it's it's fascinating oh I might have to give that a watch agreed I do like a bit of True Crime got some Christopher eckl news yeah do we have a crystal for eckl news jingle we don't it doesn't come up often enough to to Warrant one it's a shame though cuz I I like Christopher eckelson much more than I like Katie Perry for example well this is kind of a Marvel

movie news in a way because the pr like the article uh is about Christopher eckl talking about how he hates you know kind of tent pole action films hates being in them I should say and uh then just in yeah just don't be an actor it's probably the wrong career for somebody who doesn't like being in films well I think I think something he doesn't like being in films he doesn't like being in those films I think but you can pass on them yeah just tell your agent I just don't want those kind of films based on his sentiments I think he's probably going to so he said uh working on something like GI Joe was horrendous well yeah I can and I want I've seen it I can understand he said I just want to cut my throat every day and Thor just put a gun in your mouth fing hell so he

did not enjoy taking part in the making of gi. Joe or Thor the Dark World look I can I can maybe see GI Joe because that's a piece of [ __ ] but Thor the Dark World is a great movie um yeah I agree look if he' said he didn't like sitting for the makeup okay fine I can understand that yeah look like a pain in the eyes a lot of makeup on but it just you just don't like being in big movies did he like being in 28 Days Later I love him in 28 Days Later maybe I hope so I hope so too I'd hate to think that he had a horrible time while making that but this article goes on to talk about other actors who were kind of unhappy working on Marvel films there some interesting nuggets of uh information in here like Edward Norton

apparently refers to himself in a third person and so everyone else hated that they're like [ __ ] Ed's still talking about himself in the third person no no no it's just that there's this quote here and it says uh Edward Norton talking about the Incredible Hulk and it says Norton told Entertainment Weekly I regret that Marvel and Norton didn't come to an agreement where we could have all work together the Press is what kept Edward and Marvel from talking to each other that's this is apparently a quote from him saying that that's uh so I think something's going to Ry with the quote yes I have a feeling that that's somebody's publicist making a statement for them and uh and forgetting to change the uh that's yeah the name ter how wasn't happy before we go

on I just I just want to point out the of Forgotten Marvel movie that Edward Norton is in is one of my favorites the of Forgotten one HK he in no I just mean that oh yeah the original Hulk was Edward Norton and it's the same Hulk was but but all three no I wasn't it that Eric like the second Hulk was actually good but then he couldn't come back to film R prise his character he had something else on wasn't it they now they fight him yeah oh but but they are like they're not reboots of one another that's that's the same character he just looks different yeah yeah yeah yeah yes they recast him oh I I thought they were different movies well like different they are different movies I didn't think that I didn't think that were the same

universe no they are they're all Cannon oh yeah but he Edward Norton when they would looking at Avengers they decided that he was not a good fit for Avengers and they fought him do think the new Hulk is good oh yeah he's great but I I'd loved Edward Norton and I love that film it was it was really good very gritty and I like that I haven't seen it oh it's good man it's pretty good no I haven't I mean don't watch it before you watch any of the Iron Man movies which you also haven't seen I haven't seen a lot of Marvel movies none of the Iron Man's none of the hulks well apparently Micky Ro right you know Iron Man 2 is notoriously not a good movie or considered not a good movie apparent although apparently you should give it a

rewatch According to some websites look but Rick Mickey Rock is in it yes he is uh and he says in this article that basically he he wanted to do a bunch of research and he wanted to go to Russia well actually I think he went to Russia uh and and spent three months on his accent and wanted to do all this kind of very serious character stuff for whiplash his character and they were like no no don't worry about it pick up the whips yeah just swing the whips around mate we got it no worries and then yeah and he said he says that can make somebody at the end of the day say well [ __ ] him I'm just going to mail it in but I'm not that kind of guy I'm never going to mail it in but he's also not going to work on the films again I think and Hugo weaving

as well was not really happy in uh Captain America he was he says it's not something I would want to do again I'm glad I did it uh I did sign up for a number of pictures and I suppose contractually I would be obliged to if they forced me to but they wouldn't want to force someone to do it if they didn't want to do it easy I don't know how I would bring him back well Fair Point Infinity Stones oh yeah oh and nidr Ela also was unhappy what the Dark World he's done he's come back again and again I know this is this is a quote from is bigger every time I'd just done eight months in South Africa filming Mandela a long walk to freedom I came to England and the day I came back I had to do re-shoot on Thor two and in

the actual scene my hair was different and and then he sigh and he says look I was like this is tortun man I don't want to do this and my agent said you have to yeah that's what you get paid to do it's your job yeah yeah you're right Luke cuz sometimes I'm at work and there's stuff I don't want to do and my boss says you have to yeah and you just got all right if I want to keep my job and get the like the 1% of what he got paid yeah like I don't feel sorry for actors sometimes that complain about their jobs someone who's down in the sewers scraping [ __ ] off the walls is like I don't want to do this and his boss is like you have to yeah just turn down just turn down the role then I mean if Idris Elbert can put up with being in a
