[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy this week I'm going to do something unheard of okay from the GetGo I'm going to point out that Danny's not here we're not going to get halfway through or to the end of then realize no he's is not here this week he could have been right but there's a reason why I cannot wait 2 hours for him okay what is the reason okay so I drink it's not a secret no it's definitely not a secret we talk about it a lot so I try Sundays are very hard for me for recording this lake so I need to try plan my drinking

around what time we're going to record right so I try and Pace myself to get through to time we're going to record well I could wait an extra hour but if we left another 2 hours to when Dan would actually be in his hotel ready to record I would be too drunk right so that's why I decided we can't wait you forget it it's fine no don't worry it's better it's better that I be happy Luke than drunk Luke drunk Luke on this podcast is bad no I was going to say if you considered just not drinking that much I don't understand yeah that's what I do I don't drink that much I plan around I don't know I don't know that I want to make light of it to be honest I am comfortable with who I am that's fine that's fine I've come to terms with it

and look like as you said it's no secret and uh and I just want to make sure I'm not enabling it that's all so uh in fact maybe we should do the podcast later and that can be my secret way of uh no you'll just be drunk never mind I'll just be drunk like yeah no we we know what happens there right so uh something big happened this week and out of respect for those who aren't going to be able to see it and also cuz Dan's not here um are we we just not going to talk about endgame spoilers at all this week Oh I thought we you thought I thought you were talking about my birthday oh yep no spoilers for that happened this week no no we could have spoilers for that how was it um how was it pretty good Hannah got me some presents what were they I got a really cool one which

is like a a Lego a Lego ship in a bottle huh how do you get it in there so I got to build a ship and then build a bottle around it wa you build the bottle around it yeah that's kind of cheating isn't it aren't you supposed to build the ship in the model with like tools I'm sure I saw this in Battlestar Galactica yeah yeah but no no I'm building the Lego version of it so you just build a ship and then you build a or does it come with a ship and you just build a bottle around ship that already you got to build the ship and then you build the bottle okay interesting and then like transparent Lego that the bottle has made out of yeah hm it's quite cool yeah that's enjoyed it all right you a little frustrated with this build though this build was for sort of an older audience

than I normally build Lego it's like 12 and up yeah so it's a little more difficult than I'm used to and how old did you turn this birthday uh 38 yeah okay that is older than 12 right no yes no yeah but I still I still act a lot younger yeah that's true I'm still younger than you you do but you don't because we just discussed that you drink heavily you wouldn't be allowed to do that as a 12-year-old or were you not allowed to did you drink as a 12-year-old maybe I don't want to know the answer to this no but as a 12-year-old I was taking a lot of painkillers right did you just make quote marks is that why you there was a little pause there were you like doing air quotes the pain Killers well I did

do the air quotes but they were real painkillers that's that's why I'm wondering why you did it cuz you you like I was on morphine like yeah well uh that's that's good I'm glad you got some Lego uh what else did you get anything good what you Lego is awesome yeah sorry I didn't mean it to sound like that I just anything else good in addition to the other good thing that you got which is my anniversary so I also got a wallet or passport wallet for your wedding anniversary yes cool cuz it's leather your wedding is oh yeah sorry yeah I I don't know why that thir third anniversary is Lea anniversary I thought you meant because you had that bondage wedding that you yeah but no now I get it now I get it yeah that was a weird

wedding by the way it was but it was fun the whipping I could have done without but it was fun if I have to be honest I held back for you I know it could have been a lot worse for you or a lot more enjoyable yeah well I wasn't on the painkillers so also endgame did come out and we we have all seen it now mhm yes but there will be no spoilers on this podcast for there won't be any spoilers on this episode next episode but the episode after that it's happening okay all right well PL warning I feel like we need AIT another solution for this cuz people might want to know what we think so maybe I don't know well we could still say what we think yeah oh well I mean we probably should uh do you think people

should go and see Avengers end game like in your opinion was it I think do you like it I I enjoyed it I will also admit I cried don't say that now they know there's something sad in it no no I I I no there was nothing sad oh they just cut you off at the bar and so you cried yeah right they took a while to get my drink to me no no no I I I cry in a lot of Disney movies I told I'm sure I told this story on the podcast but we went and saw uh you know the Beauty and the Beast live action remake y okay there was an old older guy like I was going to say old man he was he was pretty old though he was like gray and with a beard and he would have been I don't know maybe 70s um and he was he was having a good old cry next to

me so that was yeah like yeah it doesn't like I'm not there's so spoilers I like I Cry in a lot of movies it's just something I do this one there were a bit more tear than normal so if you're sensitive to getting upset in a movie you might cry in this one is that what you're saying yes okay well I I did not cry uh but I did enjoy it it was it was pretty good really St to understand or not understand but think it's just me that cried out of all of us oh except Hoy Hoy said she cried as well sorry what's her name shut up I'm drunk yeah moving on [ __ ] um yeah I liked it it was good uh I think I liked it the same as I liked Infinity War if that's helpful for

people some bits I found uh there's one bit particular I found a very on the nose that we discussed in a couple of weeks uhhuh sure I might know what it is some bit I found a little bit slow but for the most part I like I really enjoyed it it's 3 hours long but it didn't feel like 3 hours I I was worried that it might and even I agreed there were some bits that were slow but I never felt like oh God like is this going to end it wasn't dragging slow it was just like when it finished and I was like oh okay we're done like yeah can I just say one thing that people might I'm giving a warning to people you don't need to wait till the end of the credits oh yeah yeah yeah I know they've I get it's so weird I found like they Marvel have trained up for how many years now

hang around to the end of the credits M and this time nothing they they're releasing these movies in phases right and this isn't even the end of this phase apparently the new Spider-Man film is the last one in Phase 4 so yes which I guess is kind of odd but whatever uh so yeah it's just especially strange that there's no post credits scene like there was no like Spider-Man will return in or anything like that it's just a nothing but I guess you know this wraps up the infinity Saga and all like jazz I guess well I don't know I don't want to spoil anything like it doesn't no it's not like it's not like there's no more [ __ ] movies like no like they've

already there are movies coming out next year I haven't announced what yet yeah yeah which is also interesting but I guess you know makes sense we know that there's a few sequels coming it's because they haven't really announced because James gun was fired at the time yeah and they didn't want to well they didn't want to spoil anything and you know wasn't Guardian 3 was meant to be the cross over to the next sort of phase yeah I think that's right that's that was what was meant to happen and then James gong got fired and it went quiet and I still think it'll probably be Guardians 3 will be the next one mhm yeah that's just a feeling I have now he's back well we can just throw that in yeah we're going to have to wait a bit for it though that's the

thing I'm generally they they tend to pump these things out a little more quickly than that yeah but not not anymore this one like they haven't even announced what the next one is this is going to be the longest time between movies that has been in a a very long time yeah yeah well uh yeah I don't I'm I want to be careful that we don't say anything so uh I'll just say yeah we just we'll move on yeah I mean you don't really need a recommendation I guess you you know already if you're going to see this or not there's no yeah I don't think we're going to convince anybody either way um no odds are everyone who listens his podcasts has probably already seen it but just in case either that or they're a cynical [ __ ] and they

just won't go see it out of spite that's also possible we got a few of those list that's also possible but then if you're one of those lists doesn't matter if I spoil it that's true that's true I had someone at work that was actually trying to spoil it for people people I [ __ ] hate that why I actually pointed out like sure like if you spoil something by accident while having conversation yeah that's fine if he's coming in with the purpose of spoiling it for people that's the HR issue it's just odd no no no no seriously think of it it would be a HR issue like an accident happened like you're having a conversation but if you're coming in the day of that no one else has seen it and gone this happens M

you're just doing and just saying I don't care if you get upset I'm just doing this to be a dick that's an HR issue like that's yeah that's just someone being a dick yeah yeah I I get annoyed cuz people people like to make jokes right they go oh I'm not going to tell you what happened but and then they make up the lie and say some some fake garbage thing and I'm like don't you either just shut up like cuz even like doing that whole joke thing sort of though well I know that's not going to happen which is actually sort of also a spoiler yeah and then I've had people like it's particularly with Game of Thrones I don't watch Game of Thrones at the moment anymore I'm G to watch the whole thing from scratch at some point only because I got frustrated when we

were in Sydney that was because it was difficult to watch and then people just kept telling me [ __ ] but I didn't like I don't just don't talk to me about it I don't I'm not watching it just like leave it alone but they make jokes and then they accidentally tell you something like just just shut up about it like go talk to the people who watched it away from me it's fine like so if and if they're talking to someone who has watched it and they're enjoying and you have here well that's not great that it happen yeah [ __ ] happens like I'm not I'm not but I don't mind if it's an accident generally speaking but it but the the only times that bugs me is when people just have to tell you when when I've said don't tell me that's that's annoying just don't do that [ __ ]

Jesus and then the other one is when when you say don't tell me and then they tell you a fake one that that when you're watching it you go oh actually I can see why they thought that was funny because because now they've spoiled actually have spoiled it cuz I'm not I'm not an idiot like when I you know people talking about the the spoilers for Game of Thrones sorry everybody but the people talking it's been two weeks it's definitely been two weeks the Red Wedding right exactly people go oh the wedding I'm not going to tell you what happens but there's a wedding and and it's like well just [ __ ] off now I know you've told me too much already see whereas I I honestly personally I don't care if people tell me stuff I've actually had people like even with um

Infinity War I actually people I actually ask people like tell me what happens right I'm okay with it but I would never consciously do that to another person yeah dick move like unless they were just tell me I don't care yes that's like on uh you know like on um online people sneak spoilers into movie for videos for other things or they post them and stuff like that just don't do it it's dick move that's like just sociopathic Behavior you're just trying to ruin everyone else's fun don't do it this is where I think people need to stop being anonymous on the internet it doesn't help man they do it on Facebook too yeah yeah but you do it but then like I know people are doing in comments sections even on like r.com

they're doing in comment sections and they even the mods are going like look guys we're doing our best to go through and delete these things but but yeah like read it your own risk they should just ban those people there was a good um you get a weak band someone said on on Reddit somebody said can we um can we all appreciate the mods who also don't want the movie spoiled but have to seek out the spoilers to get rid of them for the rest of us like so that we can have something they can never have which is like an unspoiled experience I was like it is actually kind of Noble in a way in a in a in a weird idiotic child way because it's a com me it sort of be good that if like hey on this website there's got to be no spoilers if you spoil it you get a ban

right yeah but people just make a f account or whatever and that's where yeah the whole thing of yeah people can just have million accounts and it doesn't matter M the second internet becomes not Anonymous it's going to be a much better place man this this never used to be a thing I I don't know this whole phenomenon oh it's a bunch of phenomenon I guess combined which is the the the fan obsessions like with you know marvel and and Star War I guess Star Wars was kind of always a thing but we didn't have the internet back then because we used to have this problem with Buffy in Australia if you recall yes cuz we would get Buffy 6 months after the [ __ ] rest of the world on TV easy because the internet wasn't right you just didn't go on the forums

for that like but it also sucks because it means you don't get to be part of yes you don't get to join the conversation yeah which which sucks cuz that's part of the that's one of the nice things about this is and and the reason I wanted to see endgame you know I I I didn't I saw the day after it came out um cuz I want to get online and I want to read what everyone's saying and I want to participate and also we got to talk about it on the show and I want to talk about with you guys like yeah but for once I was the first one to see you that happens a lot now though things have changed it used to be that Australia would have to wait like weeks yeah now now they went like normally movies come out here on the Thursday but

went well it's anac day so instead of moving it to Friday they went we'll move it to Wednesday yeah and you guys get um some stuff like weeks early because they use it to test the market for here which I thought was interesting uh and also annoying because it means you get to see movies two weeks before we do which I don't know if really I don't know you don't really need to test things anymore you just get that's the marketing though they want to know is it worth spending millions of dollars marketing this thing in America if if bombs in Australia New Zealand then they'll just kind some of that money off somewhere else have you heard the rumors like with um even with um GTA 6 yeah there's a rumors going around now that that's going to be uh PlayStation 5 exclusive

for the first few months G okay um all it is Rockstar's just going to make money off that but I'm still I'm off the opinion Rockstar could announce today they're they're dropping GTA 6 tomorrow and they would still make the same amount of money yeah I don't know that Rockstar needs an advantage like you or not not even an advantage like uh they so they just get a kickback from Sony for doing that like will pay them he he's like can't imag stra cash rockar don't need it Rockstar they made like billion dollar in sales in the first three days of GTA 5 that's why I don't really understand the um the bo lands 3 exclusive either I don't think gearbox is in trouble it's not gearbox it's 2K Games but I don't think they're in trouble either I don't really

understand why they did that with the sorry with the epic game store exclusive I don't know why they did that just to get more money I guess I think it's just yeah it's just they threw money at them hey being exclusive here yeah like not yeah yeah okay well we we'll take a big kick up front which H they might actually be using for the development yeah Fair instead of about pre-orders hey we'll just take this money you're going to give us and we'll use it yeah I'm not against them making the game better but and also I play on the Xbox so I don't really give a [ __ ] about the yeah it doesn't at all the GTA 6 thing would yeah yeah right that would annoy I read uh I I don't I'm not really I don't really give a [ __ ] about the

console war or any of that kind of stuff anymore I've kind of moved away from that but obviously I guess people still still do I used to care about that kind of stuff but I don't really anymore and the ex are L of an issue these days it's sort of weird I think Microsoft are trying to get away from that whole thing as well yeah and even Nintendo to some extent but Sony are very much uh trying to keep going with it well apparently then there was a days gone apparently that's a garbage game oh really yeah I read the bunch of it's got well it's got mixed reviews but a lot of people it's really buggy apparently and it's also like story Line's weird and the writing's not great I don't know I'm not not going to play cuz it's on Playstation only so yeah like even um Microsoft they they've

got like Minecraft on the Nintendo switch they've got cuphead now on the Nintendo switch and there's hints that there's going to be like more crossovers coming okay um speaking of the switch uh there have been rumors that they were going to announce I think two new models people were saying at E3 a less expensive more portable version of the switch and a like a refresh of the standard one that I guess maybe is more powerful or something like that but Nintendo came out and said no I'm not doing any of that so oh I heard that I I did hear that they weren't doing the more powerful version but I didn't I thought I didn't hear about the yeah the compact one not happening I think I thought that was going to happen let me read the

specifics I believe the plan is there's no Hardware okay as a general rule we're always working on new hardware and we'll announce it when we're able to sell it but we have no plans to announce that at this year's E3 in June so there will be no new hardware announced is what that how that reads to me okay so that's fine I mean I like my switch don't really care yeah oh I I'm waiting the second that cuphead gets achievements I'm going to be buying that and I'll probably be playing the switch a bit more so will you get uh have you played cuphead on the Xbox already yes did you finish it I know yes that [ __ ] that game man that's not that game is [ __ ] hard I

know it's it's not for me ridiculously I I didn't even buy I play the first part yeah but then you have to get like I forget if it's stars or something you have to get a certain amount of things to actually progress further and I just went no I'm out but I actually think on the switch it would be easier I feel like you just break your switch or the fact I could probably play it at lunch at work oh yeah okay there's also that man it's just I don't have time for that [ __ ] like I played it at cons and I was just nah it's not for me not for me it's actually quite a fun game but it's frustrating that's what I mean those kind of games I they're not that's not my thing not anymore once upon a time maybe same with like Dark Souls everybody's like oh you should play Dark

Souls and nah at that it's just not think about it is I I don't see it's like Dark Souls I'm not a fan of I won't play but what I actually see the cuphead as is is like more of a game we got in the '90s no I agree and I used to like that kind of stuff where just very difficult but I've been coddled by modern games and then now I'm an old man and I I just I want to feel like I'm progressing all the time so that I can finish the game because I don't you know I'm [ __ ] I got a job and I got [ __ ] I got to do if I don't feel like I'm progressing I'm going to get stressed and I'm going to play something else like in another game where you die and you go okay I'll go back to here and I just continue on but in cuphead it's no you die and then you get three lives and then that's it you

have to restart that whole thing again and it's sort of like no I don't want to no I'm not doing that that's still a fun game though yeah no no I get it look I'm not it's it's beautiful visually it's beautiful and I know it's got very good reviews and and people like it it's just not for me that's fine yeah and you're allowed to have that opinion I've been playing Titanfall 2 on your recommendation I know we talked about this already I'm still playing it it's a good game it's a great game I told you yeah I like it I'm I'm enjoying it uh upset though progressing through cuz there still talk of like Titanfall 3 but because respawn are walking working on the Star Wars game yeah and also Apex Legends that's sort of on the back burner a little bit

haven't played Apex Legends I installed it it's free so I installed it cuz why not but I haven't played it yet um if you like Battle Royale games it's a good Battle Royale game I don't think I do but uh I'm willing to give it a shot man I we may have talked about this before but uh fortnite [ __ ] man I don't get it I just don't get that game I don't I don't understand like you build stuff and and you like also shoot and I I don't get Battle Royale games at all like the whole lot of them in theory I do Apex Legends you have to play with other people yeah like like I mean on a team like it's always teams of three yes so when you play it if you do get around you will be playing with two other

people oh I get you so it's not every man for himself no okay hm I came second a lot sure never got the win no don't give up no I've already uninstalled it oh okay you gave up already all right fair enough I gave up did you get all the achievements no probably not no God no cuz yeah you have to win right and yeah I just I like I wasn't bad at the game but I never got you hon you bad at the game you can be honest you second quite a lot no no I was okay but you need to get paired with good people oh I see so it's everybody else's fault yeah exactly yeah my fault yeah of course uh we mentioned earlier uh I'm I'm I'm still playing through

Borderlands 2 with Jenna I [ __ ] love that game um and we talked previously about you know the people were review bombing the older games because the Borderlands 3 exclusive thing with the epic game store and you know Randy pitch from Gbox pointed out that this is a flaw in Steam and you know maybe maybe this competition with the epic game store will help sort of that kind of crap out um Yep this week there's been another sort of review bombing thing but this is actually like a different type of review bomb um people are giving Assassin's Creed Unity positive reviews as an act of solidarity with France uh because nron burnt I say burn down did burn down but it got burnt very badly and very badly damaged it did end up good no it's

pretty bad which is a shame because it's Ubisoft Ubisoft donated a lot of money they also donated like all their records They had had cuz I did a lot of research into it yeah doesn't have anything to do with the game though nothing to do with the game and this is what I find weird with the Borderlands review bombing yes cuz steam actually came out and now if you actually search that up yeah they got rid of them right they didn't get rid of them they just go they were yet well they did get rid of them they went this product has experienced one or more periods of off-topic review activity based on your preferences the reviews within these periods have been excluded from the product review score oh okay that's interesting so that's on Borderlands but on Assassin's Creed

which is positive they haven't done they haven't removed it which it's exactly the same thing and this is what Randy was coming from like this type of stuff isn't actually good for No it's it's I mean I get it's nice I get the sentiment but it's not don't don't do that that's dumb like just and actually when be honest about whether the game was good or not like some of the reviews are just like Notre Dam and others were hey Ubisoft is giving this away free on their store and I'm s like that's how is that a good review yeah yeah people are weird like look I was sad about notra I was very sad about it I saw it back in uh 2009 I went had a visit [ __ ] beautiful place I was actually I was actually going to go to go see it this year yeah I know that's

why I was like oh [ __ ] man we're going to be there later this year but nope yeah well I mean we will but we'll still be there but we won't get to see it well we get to see part of it yeah you I think a lot of the windows have been destroyed and the we won't actually get to see the inside we'll get to see the outside such a shame it's [ __ ] beautiful but anyway it was beautiful I'm sure they'll fix it but so yeah I was sad uh but uh that doesn't mean I'm going to give a game a positive review that just happens to have it in it in you know and yeah it's accurate apparently and then that's really awesome that's great but also not relevant yeah nothing to do with anything yep so don't don't do that people that's weird

yeah this sory reviews are sort of crap well they're useful in a way but yeah they also cuz yeah reviews are tough cuz you need to that's what you know they have the uh what do they what do they call them the um you know they I want to not influences but you know on on Steam you have like reviews from trusted sources what do they call that oh yes so you can I have no idea you could say I agree with M right so I'm going to I'm going to say tell me what multiple nerdgasm thinks about X and uh and generally we'll just be crumpy should be the actual game not what people are doing offline yeah or even just like if you know that like say for example with films I tend to be interested in what say red letter media say about a film or or you know so if I

could just say what do they think about this film before I go and see it at least it gives me some kind of indication of whether I might like it or not so I'm trying to think who reviews games that I agree with I don't know I don't really read or watch game reviews that often but multiple no gasm yeah so if I say oh I generally uh not even necessarily agree with them but I'm I'm interested in what they think of a game before I purchase it then in that case reviews are good but if it's just a bunch of random people like [ __ ] you might not agree with them who knows no like and you have no idea where they're coming from a lot of the time they might enjoy it for different reasons to what you enjoy you need to find you need to find a source that you

sort of have stuff in common with and that's the stuff where you will you'll get more information from yeah yeah rather than just a bunch of random people and cuz the the other thing too is that like if you these These are kind of organized things these review bombs but it happens even if it's not organized like if everybody's giving something a positive review people tend to just join in like yes cuz I don't want to be so to be oh yeah this is wrong no even this why I don't actually care so much about people's reviews I always make a decision for myself yeah same yeah I like a lot of movies that people don't like and I don't like movies that people do like so yeah there were bands I used to like when I was young there would be

bands that I thought I might like and then people go you won't like them like they're terrible and then I'd go see go no I actually like this and then that's where I decided I'm going to just yeah make decisions for myself you decided people are full of [ __ ] [ __ ] yeah y I know what I like good it's not art it's not art I don't get art you don't get art at all no what if it was like a nice painting of Darth Vader yeah no or I'm going to pay $4 million for it I didn't ask you to mate I mean if you what 3 million 3 million can I take a picture of it no I haven't painted it yet I want I I want to know if you'll pay me $3 million before I bother yeah probably not I'll paint you a picture of Darth V

$100 million funding uh podcast app and the idea is that they want to be Netflix for podcasts so okay you can you can get it it's free to get it and you can listen to podcasts you know like hours for free as normal um and and well the idea was that you would just get access to all the podcasts you can normally get plus if you pay them like I think like eight bucks a month or something like that you get a bunch of Premium ones that they're producing which is a bit cheeky really cuz like that's not [ __ ] it's not podcast work mate it's like they're free you know um so they're trying to that's their business model but it turns out when they when they released it they are or they were sorry cuz I think they're taking steps to fix this but they were rehosting everybody's

[ __ ] so they were taking all the podcasts and then hosting them on their servers uh or their CDN uh whether accidentally or not they said they this might have been an accident but not all of it was an accident but they were basic they [ __ ] up everybody's stats they're hiding um The Listener information from from the podcasters they were uh removing links and sponsorship information from the show notes for podcast like what the [ __ ] man oh yeah right cheeky so uh a bunch of big podcasts and and and and you know networks said [ __ ] remove us from your platform it's is copyright infringement CU you're taking somebody else's work and you're [ __ ] with it uh and they insert ads

uh apparently too I don't know whether they do that for all of them but yeah it's just I don't know so so when when they inser the ads do the people who they're putting on to get the money or I don't know that's what I'm saying I don't even know if we're on there because apparently a lot of people so one of the big ones right one of the biggest podcasts out there is The Joe Rogan podcast right um whatever you think of Joe his podcast is [ __ ] huge right he didn't even know he was going to be on this thing and he's on there and there not only that but like they you know he's no longer getting stats from uh from from the show so listeners when you listen to the show you know it downloads the episode from our server uh cuz we host we're we're independent so

we host all this [ __ ] ourselves um and I get information like this many people listen to the show and and we get kind of basic stats on you know what country are you in and you know basic kind of [ __ ] like that nothing creepy but anyway it's helpful I can tell you right now saile and multiple nasm are on there they are interesting I just subscribed to both of them so they're [ __ ] with our [ __ ] yeah apparently Spotify did the same thing originally but they changed it cuz everybody complained cuz that's how like like we don't have advertisers as such but a lot of podcasts do like you know when you hear like [ __ ] Casper and a Squarespace and and you know all those blue apron right they rely on those stats to sell the ads so if you're a podcast that that

needs that information then it [ __ ] that you know it's really bad so are lots of people using this app or well it has apparently it's not had a good launch because of all this cuz I think the the problem they have is that if you listen to podcasts you're also kind of a little bit Savvy like cuz it's not I don't know I think podcast listeners tend to be a little Tech interested in a way um that's changing and they Bec is changing now but I think if if if you're installing luminary this new podcast app you probably know a little bit about podcasts cuz otherwise why the [ __ ] would you even think to install it you know so I think they've had a bad launch because people are finding this out like it's it's in all on the all the tech

news sites and stuff so I mean I'm sure there's people out there who are oblivious to it but I think probably a lot of them are aware that that this is a bit of a controversial thing and to be fair they have now apparently fixed that they they now just redirect all the downloads straight to the to the uh you know to the podcast host and cuz you know we're on a CDN and everything like that we do all that stuff we don't need them to do it like I [ __ ] sort all that stuff out they honestly thought they'll maybe doing the right thing but maybe I wonder speed up it up a little bit maybe but I don't we don't need him to do that we do that already like that's my problem the the whole thing I'm actually going to try and listen to a few of our podcasts to see if they're putting ads on us yeah

well that's that would be [ __ ] yeah and maybe I don't know I hope I'm wrong about that but that and uh do the show notes have the links in them can you see that um on there cuz apparently they strip all that [ __ ] out like in our case we link to the Articles were talking about and and we don't have we don't we don't really put any sponsorship [ __ ] in there cuz we don't have any sponsors no there are no show not oh the show not there no links yeah see [ __ ] man put them in there that's what they're there for yeah all it says is like what's the going rate on dirty mags what about Transformer Comics mhm asking for a friend a friend who needs to sue someone to recover damages mhm right and it doesn't have a link to any articles that that refers to no well

that's dumb so hopefully they'll fix that but a lot of yeah said Joe Rogan he's now told him cease and assist remove my thing from your app you can't you can't just do that uh you know there's copyright issues potentially and and you're messing with people's livelihood by removing sponsorship information uh and New York Times has pulled all their podcasts off and a bunch of big networks now and uh uh Mac stories pulled all theirs off and um yeah but but it's cheeky man you got to opt out like you have to know about this and then you have to email them and say hey remove me like [ __ ] off man like you can't know I should go the other way yeah you like cuz we've been contacted by other like apps to go hey we'd like to host you is that okay yeah yeah

exactly and we usually like we say yeah cuz we don't like I said we don't really care no problem at all yes host away it's nice to know how many people are listening but and and as long as they have some stats I can kind of figure that out and I mean it does help us in a way because we you know like we get comped tickets to things sometimes and they ask us for listener stats so I we I we keep a general idea of it but we're not selling you know that information for ad revenue or anything like that so we don't care as much as some of these other podcasts do it's nice to be asked you know I mean if we have more people listening than uh we're aware of that's that's fine it's awesome but I'd really like to know yeah exactly right in let us know yeah if you've tried out

luminary let us know what you think although I guess it's just [ __ ] just plays podcast so I guess it doesn't really matter but yeah it's like the other billion apps that are out there yep yeah except that crucial difference is that it it's been a bit shitty with the with the content okay did you see this so Mark Hill posted a tweet and it got him in trouble I think I did are you talking about the picture he posted yeah I'm talking about the picture he posted I saw it I went that's cute yeah I actually didn't even nothing of it mhm so well explain what it is what is it so it's someone a fan put together like Lando Han Carrie Fisher and Mark hell like all in the same picture in the Millennium Falcon yeah the like the the old versions of them like in the in the

new films the current versions of them except for car Fisher because you don't want the current version of her no that would be that would be in poor taste but just and he posted this on his Twitter and I just thought oh that that's cute yeah like that's actually just a nice photo and he like what could have been and know the way I read it is like he s of a little bit upset that that will never happen because yeah but he wasn't having a go at him like it's you all it's just someone's photoshopped them all together in the in the Millennium Falcon and it's just like oh yeah that would have been a cool little thing that we never got to do just cuz [ __ ] didn't work out like yeah that's all I saw it was but yeah evid the internet went a little bit

crazy as the internet does because they think he's having they think he's [ __ ] on everything all the time they're like oh Mark H secretly [ __ ] hates the the sequels so he's always [ __ ] on him yeah and it's yeah and no it's all just it was the nice I thought it was a nice thing he did yes was nice and innocent which I think that's where he gets in trouble cuz he is just yeah he doesn't think about it that way but he doesn't realize that people are [ __ ] crazy yes so people took this as MK Hill's pissed off that he didn't get to do a scene with Harrison Ford Carrie Fisher and Billy D Williams is that is that where they're going with it that's that's where the internet's going with it yeah pretty sure that's not what he

meant no and then even Billy D Williams has thrown his head in now wait what Billy D Williams has sort of gone like you should be getting used to everyone's Nick you should be used to getting everyone's nickers in the twist part of your charm man yeah well he does he always it's like before the Last Jedi came out and he was he was saying you know he he was he just I guess he's just a happy friendly guy he says things and he doesn't realize that people are going to take it like the most the worst way possible yes they'll take it and twist it to turn into whatever they want yes the internet will always give you the least benefit of the doubt the worst possible reading of anything you say cuz like I actually saw this when he

posted this picture I saw it and that's nice bad about it I just that's that's I actually I actually even felt like a little bit sad like oh Carrie's gone and yeah yeah I was like oh you know what that would been nice how I saw yeah that's how I saw it I didn't see it as a oh he's [ __ ] on the sequels and oh he's upset and it's a it's a he saw a photo of him and a bunch of his friends photoshopped together and he was like oh yeah that would have been fun like that's all I'm sure that's all he wasn't having a go he's been he's known these people for many many years Y and he probably the thing he probably focused on was like him and Carrie when oh car's gone like this is a nice photo I'll post it yeah internet is a terrible terrible

Supernatural uh [ __ ] maniacs and they uh there's like a sub culture I guess I don't know if that's the right word but there's there's a there's like forums for these people who they think like for real that you know the two guys in Supernatural the two they play the two brothers I'm not I've not really watched it but you know who I mean right there two my sister could tell you but yeah I know the two guys the one of them was in Gilmore Girls so I know him from that um wasn't one of them also in jailbreak or something uhon maybe but they they these people apparently think that for real they are a gay couple and they have fake

wives and fake children to hide that for some reason and they will send death threats and abusive emails and and harass these the families of these two actors because they think that it's real they think that they are a gay couple and that they like I've seen I saw screenshots this week for discussions in these forums it's the craziest most [ __ ] bizarre stuff I've ever seen I that's see if this was like in the 80s or '90s I could believe that a little bit more sure but like what like they hiding it or whatever but there's no evidence of this they're just actors this is like the other week not the other week like a month or so ago you

know when uh at the Academy Awards Bradley Cooper and um lady gagar no idea what you're talking about Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga right they're in that movie together um and they play a couple As far as I'm aware I hav't seen the movie and then they did a live performance at the Academy Awards right presumably in character right they did a Love Song and they were like up there looking like they were in love with each other and then they went back and sat down and and Bradley Cooper's wife was there but everybody's like did you [ __ ] see how they were looking at each other they are secretly [ __ ] and I feel so bad for Bradley Cooper's wife this whole thing was going on and I'm like no no they they're they're actors they're actors that's what they do for a

job yeah that someone paid them to do that well I mean Bradley Cooper directed it so Bradley Cooper paid himself to to look at Lady Gaga that way doesn't pay people no I know I'm just I'm just being factious but yeah like that's like that's not evidence of anything like they they they made a movie where they had to pretend to be a couple like if you were convinced by their performance they did their jobs it doesn't mean that they're actually you know in in a relationship I just don't understand people it's like how the actors who play Jim and Pam in the office they still get in trouble if they're out with their partners because they go no you guys are together that's what I mean people are [ __ ] crazy do you know she was married to James gun Jenna Fisher no I did not yeah Jenna

Fisher is James gun's ex-wife I knew she'd been in like a movie with him before yeah I think she been in more than that with him Luke wink wink no I think he's been in more wait what oh I get you sorry yeah yeah yeah you what is James gun done now or what did he do back then no we don't no I want say anything bad about James I've I've said enough bad about James gun by accident in my life I'm going to say anything when you thought you didn't like him yeah unbelievable [ __ ] love that guy I would just say in the probably the biblical sense he was with his wife yeah I got it in the end I got it yeah yeah fans man but yeah no I yeah that's what like it fans you have to also think Fanatics and that's a terrible thing like people it's sort of

nervous for some people to come out as a f of something because if you talk to the wrong person then well you're not a real fan because you haven't watched this or seen this or you don't know this and like I I just like it yeah yeah I don't know man it's I I sometimes I'm like I I I guess I used to roll my eyes a bit when people talked about toxic fandom in relation to Star Wars cuz I'm like no we just like the movies but no that they really they really are it exists [ __ ] crazy Maniacs out there maybe and maybe maybe we are them but we just don't realize I I don't think I am I will happily talk to anyone about you didn't say that I wasn't you I can only talk for

myself I mean I don't think you are but I don't know what you get up to online well there's a reason for that I use a VPN Luke cuz I don't want anyone to know what I get up to online exactly that's a joke by the way that's a joke but like I've heard like some of the most toxic fans out there are like the Rick and Morty fans and stuff [ __ ] never even watched that show I've heard about it and I'm like I don't think I want to watch it but yeah it's yeah a lot of people just yeah just just be nice if someone says they're a fan they like the show you should embrace them you can just like stuff you don't have to be weird about it just like it it's fine they're they're not a fake gamer or a fake fan if they say they like something they

like something else as well fake gamer girls and all that stuff like God just sounds so lame like stop accusing people of weird [ __ ] like that people just like stuff it's fine yeah and they're allowed to yeah it doesn't impact on your enjoyment of saying if I if I say like if I didn't like endgame right that doesn't affect the fact that you did no just relax everybody it's fine yeah you you're if other people don't like stuff you're still allowed to like it no also the other way if if you like if everyone else likes it and you don't you're allowed to not like it no not anymore not on this show anymore I've decided that from now on we need to have a consensus ooh so stay tuned for that I guess interesting then yeah we need to come up

really grown on me Alien 3 have you seen Alien 3 I have and I love it and hate it all at the same time me too I really like a lot of it and I feel like I'm disappointed in it for various reasons listeners if you want to know more about Alien 3 and why we're talking about it this way you can listen to an episode of necronom the uh the podcast that Jenner and I used to do right here the the one reason why a lot of people aren't quite a big fan of it is because it takes alien 2 and it goes forget out about all those people you gr an attachment to they're all dead yeah but not for good reasons for dumb behind the scenes reasons they couldn't get people to be in there and all that kind of stuff so it just kind of sucks from that perspective um y so William Gibson the famous science

fiction author who wrote uh Neuromancer uh and some other stuff you'd be familiar with he's kind of one of the the grandfathers of modern science fiction and cyber Punk he wrote a script he actually wrote two scripts for Alien 3 uh but there's one that they were going to go with and it's become quite famous uh for being quite different it's uh you know Ripley's not really in it very much it's mostly about Hicks and okay that would have been awesome well you can find out because audible have done uh they do these kind of like it's not not you know audible audio books but they also kind of do performances as well like radio plays they've done a [ __ ] radio play of William Gibson's Alien 3 script and it comes out soon um I'm going to get that yeah

because I've subscribed to Audible and I've got like three credits sitting there yeah well there you go perfect and guess who's [ __ ] in it who Michael Bean no yeah yeah he's Hicks and he's also uh unfortunately he's also um Bishop cuz apparently they I guess they didn't get Lance henriksson didn't get my friend Lance henriksson for some reason which is disappointing but man [ __ ] Michael Bean as Hicks but I'm actually looking forward to that because when I listen to audio books I actually do like it when they there are voices and actors in it yeah yeah yeah they do a lot of those now on Audible they're good there's a a neverware one that I have on there also we're not sponsored by audible this is not an

to it yet but I'm I'm going to listen to be like one paragraph yeah I'm going to listen to it like so anyway yeah I think this is [ __ ] tops uh I'm glad they did this uh it's available as a dark horse made a graphic novel of it previously and I guess that was very successful which I guess that's part of the reason they decided this was a good idea but yeah [ __ ] tops so it's full full cast it's not just Michael Bean it's like a full cast of of voice actors doing the uh the acting out a radio play of uh William Gibson's Alien 3 script yeah I think yep definitely getting that MH mhm have you read any of other alien like fiction that I've read some of the alien ver Predator stuff yeah I don't really care about that I feel like

that was a mistake just personally no no no no no but no this was like back before the movies I know but I still feel like I I'm I don't like that's I don't like I don't need predator and alien to be smooshed together I'm good I'm good with them being SE they weren't they weren't smooshed together they were sort of still their own separate things and then crossed over no I I yeah I I read some of it I enjoyed it yeah no fair enough my opinion does not impact on your enjoyment Luke as we've discussed it doesn't although we do need to decide by the end of the show what our Collective opinion on aliens and predators being mixed together is so do we I think really or do we have to wait for Dan he's not here so I think he's he's voted uh

absentee oh okay yeah if you want to have an opinion on something you got to show up um one of the uh there's games any alien vers Predator which were quite good they were good weren't they I'm not talk I'm not talking about like I'm not talking about even like the first person sho I'm talking about like Neo Geo sidescroller ones as well they were fun uh yeah yeah all right and I mean Lance henriksson was in the alien vers Predator movie so that is a plus uh it was a very bad terrible in it so that's a minus that is a minus so that cancels out uh so I guess I'm neutral on that front see see the movies I I'm right there with you the movies are terrible they are I would call books and games are good steaming pile of feces I think I think I would describe them as some

redeeming I'm not talking about the movies the the books in the games were good yeah I haven't read the books maybe I need to read the books and get back to you yeah read the books and then then make a decision probably not going to get that done soon so no we might have to leave this but that that was the first one that actually cuz I used to read a lot of Star Wars books back then and then I read this alien vers Predator one and there was a sex scene in it and I was wow between an alien and a predator no between a girl and a marine no no it it's between a marine and a Android okay that's I mean that's actually sort of interesting wait I think that long that raises all sorts of moral quandaries now Luke it was no
