Paul People Like Rudd: James Gunn Rehired & Avengers Endgame Poster

[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy going to shock everyone this week and take ownership for something that happened oh Lord you you're going to admit something is your fault yes go on well no I'll going to come around to it and claim it's not my fault but we'll start off with it is I'm sure we'll get there eventually we were talking before the podcast started getting ready to record yes and then I just went offline yes you did you dropped off mid story from you yeah now what happened was I was looking at Discord and in the top right hand corner

there was a little arrow it was bright green and I went what's that get an achievement I click that had update and I went oh I'm going to click it and see what happens and then it just shuts down straight away and starts updating right so that was I was going to claim that was my fault but now I've thought about it they've made that button too enticing yeah it's was it Xbox green is that the problem it was yes yeah so there's nothing I could do to help myself from clicking that button I don't think I get that button on on the Windows version I don't see on the sorry on the Mac version I don't see anything like that it's it's on the top right hand corner it's not there at the moment at the moment there's just a help an at and then just next to it there was a little

button that Luke click me and I clicked it course you did want to see what would happen I actually thought it would pop up with a thing to go hey we're going to install an update do you want to do it now yeah no youve hit that button we know what you're doing update I think Dan Dan hit the button this week he's uh he's not on he's not online at all he's uh he's away he's not here he just does this week keep forgetting mhm you keep forgetting about Dan yeah yeah just one of those things yeah who he's back next week and then I think he disappears again yeah maybe coming back with a special guest though yes hopefully we'll tease that we'll see what happens uh I don't I don't want to excited I don't want to jump the gun but yeah we were pushing for him to do

something so he'll be back next week anyway we can uh we can talk about that more Yep someone else is back uh we got some followup yeah we said we were going to stop talking about James done but but I mean look look can't we can't now cuz uh he's back they just [ __ ] hide him again so this could not work out better for James gun than this I'm I know I'm sure mikov is kicking himself now cuz now James gun's coming back he's doing Guardians 3 he's also still going to do Suicide Squad too first uh so not he he's basically got fired from Marvel got hired by DC and then got hired back by Marvel so good job good work you got him two jobs two wellpay jobs yeah have this he actually come out and said anything

about this or just that he's rehired um it it so it was the other day deadline posted at first I actually saw this happen kind of in real time on Twitter which is interesting that doesn't normally happen because I'm not on Twitter very much I just happened to to see a tweet and then kind of followed it so deadline posted and said they had heard they they checked with both parties and this was true and they posted it and everyone started retweeting it and then uh it kind of grew and grew and grew and then eventually James gun posted which was at the point when I was like okay I guess this is legit uh he posted a thank you to everybody saying you know thanks for supporting me and I'm happy with Disney's decision but I don't think

Disney's officially said anything I think this is but then did they ever officially fire him like I don't think this is the kind of thing that they really put a press Rel I'm s happy that they have and I wish they would come out and say something cuz this is I'm not I'm not condoning what he said back 10 years ago sure but that's not the person he is now and people need to be able to grow and to make atonement for what they've done so I think it's good that they're hiding back if he had have posted those tweets now yes fire him instantly mhm but yeah you can't get rid of someone when they've changed yeah and at the time I I can't Rec exactly I know that they didn't I don't think they released like a statement saying that he

was fired I think uh Alan horn the head of Disney said his tweets don't mesh with their values which is OB obviously that's true um but they never really addressed the fact that the tweets were really old and and then everyone already knew he already made you two movies and made you millions of dollars already and he's already apologized in the past like specifically about all that stuff and and left them because he said he wanted to own what he had said in the past and and you know blah blah blah you can argue whether that was a smart idea or not probably not um but it kind of worked out I guess in the end yeah so or maybe this was the plan all along well I thought that too because they never apparently never even really interviewed

anybody else about doing it so I think maybe they just went into damage control early on and then left it cuz wait for wait for the internet to lose interest move on to the next scene and then just quietly hiring him back yeah I guess we'll never know but I'm glad he's back CU you know he's [ __ ] done such a good job and we talked last week briefly about how uh I was worried that you know I thought his involvement in Marvel in general has kind of uh was played up as a big reason for for why this is all going so well um however someone asked Kevin feig about that just couple of days before they announced he was back at the okay this is at the Captain Marvel press uh thingy and someone asked him about gun's influence over all the new movies and how you know Captain

Marvel ties in and that which is what I said last week I thought it worked really well and and Kevin Fe said his influence was Guardians it was Guardians it was his input on Guardians in The Avengers films as you seen in Infinity war and on the Guardians 3 script which we're using so you'll see that influence I think online sort of the notion of architect across multiple Cosmic things was slightly blown out of proportion that makes less sense now that he's back but I think at the at the time it seemed like they were like playing down how involved he was but now it may have been that at that at the time of that even though that was a couple of days ago nothing was finalized yeah maybe it is interesting too I thought that uh like there was no announcement

it was like deadline just leaked it and then slowly it got confirmed and there was never Well yeah if Disney are going to stay away from talking about it this is how they would do it yes good point so I guess that's it then it's just uh he's back and uh and then now we just wait for the movie yeah I think I think that's all done oh I one one of funny thing that um during the the Captain Marvel stuff Shan gun was asked what he what do you think is going to happen with guardians 3 and he said and obviously everybody already knew this was kind of in the works um and he just said H I have a feeling everything's going to work itself out and and no one at time everyone was just like oh he's being positive but then no no no he he knew he knew James he would have had to

have known yeah exactly so there you go good news happy he's back but you know after like the Spider-Man's movie the next Marvel movie is not like for 10 months I'm not even I I know they haven't announced it on purpose because it I assume it's spoilers for endgame but I don't what I this is the first time in a long time that I haven't known about 10 [ __ ] Marvel movies that were coming out like I don't know what's coming out I know that there's a new Spider-Man and I know nor we get something every like every 3 to six months but now there's going to be like nearly a year with nothing I bet it's not I bet they're just waiting to announce them we got we got uh endgame comes out what like next month right uh

yeah April yeah and then Spider-Man Spiderman and then and then that's it h I bet it's not I bet they've got a bunch of [ __ ] lined up they just oh no there there's tons playing but announced officially we have no idea well that's what I think it there's probably spoilers for end game yeah so that's it's about probably it's probably getting to the stage of all right it's Contract Signing Time who's sticking around who can we afford well uh I don't know this is this a is this a spoiler can this be a spoiler if it's just like politics film okay I'm still convinced that even the title of a movie is a spoiler so anyone who [ __ ] about spoilers should not be learning anything about the movie all right well

I won't talk about what I was going to talk about then no no go for it it's go for it I all right warning I don't know anything about the movie I'm just this is just my my guess about what is very very public news so if this is a spoiler I apologize uh Chris Evans is done with the Marvel movies he's he's done he's y he actually posted he been saying that for a while yeah and he posted on Twitter and they did a farewell thing and and that and I was like and that's why I'm like it can't really be a spoiler because everyone [ __ ] knows about it and it was surprising to me that they would be so public about it unless it's all a [ __ ] teas unless it's [ __ ] which it could be so well done you've got me questioning whether that's even true but apparently he's

done which implies something's going to happen to Captain America in end game right who knows yeah maybe not there's no point in speculating just wait till the movies out and go see it yeah maybe he'll just get Frozen again or wait till two weeks after then come talk to us yeah when Luke's allowed to Blood Out random spoilers like he did with Force awakens and got us trouble with our fans we gave like the episode before we gave warnings that there was going to be spoilers yeah I know but like I know I know I know but some people were I sorry I'm belittling them a little bit and I don't mean to what I'm saying is people said that they weren't able to get get to see the movie even in two weeks and I was like well I mean when can we talk about it then like in theory never cuz

you somewhat you might never get to see it so I don't know I I still claim that 2 weeks is plenty of time if you really really want to see it there's 9:00 a.m. screenings there's midnight screenings like there there's time to work around it yeah yeah go see the MAA with babies are allowed I just don't want to ruin things for people so I'm mindful of that um but the thing is I don't I don't care about spoilers at all but you can tell me the entire plot for the next St Wars movies and I won't care hey speaking of endgame there was uh something happened this week that was interesting and I uh I actually I noticed this uh before it got resolved um which is I I was quite proud of that actually because it's the first time I've ever noticed one of these things before

before the company did something about it so they put out a new poster for endgame Avengers end game there's a new trailer which was actually a good trailer actually seen it yet actually got me more hyped than the others it was it was a good trailer yeah the first one I saw i eh yeah no this was this was a good one that's that's actually why I haven't gone out of my way to see this one to see the new trailer new trailer yeah yeah no no no this one's good uh yeah actually got me got me interested and then they put out a new poster and then on the poster um CU I I thought it was odd that there were so many there's a lot of people on the poster right yes and then a lot of names on the poster and we've talked in the past like I remember back in the

early days of this podcast I was scoffing at the fact that they'll never get that many [ __ ] famous people to be in a movie but look at you look at this poster and it's like [ __ ] man like times have changed everybody's in this and yeah but I think some of them are famous because of this thought that's true in some cases I think not in all cases I mean look there's a lot of people in this like bigname people like you remember when when they announced you know Iron Man and then Robert T J was Iron Man and then they they did uh Incredible Hulk uh and then it went where' it go from there [ __ ] Thor and then Thor yeah and then and then when they finally announced Avengers and I'm sure there's a quote there'll be a quote of me on

this podcast saying I can't imagine how they're going to get all these [ __ ] celebrities lined up for these movies like with schedules and stuff like that cuz it just hadn't really been done before like so many big names in in one movie and now I think it just goes to show how well this is all planned out yeah absolutely yeah well and how airtight those [ __ ] contracts are like but they would cuz you can't let these people like not live their lives and go about getting other jobs and things so they' be very clear about like what leading up and when they'll be needed and things yeah with bman and Superman yeah yeah I'm sure it's well organized but I was looking at this poster right and there's so many people on the poster like there's like [ __ ]

12 like 13 people on the poster I think uh let me count 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 yeah 13 people and then I was like [ __ ] there's so many names up the top of the poster and then I'm like wait a minute there's only 12 names up there and obviously it didn't happen quite like that I just I was just like I wonder if everybody on the poster is named on the poster cuz I don't know if that normally happens I don't think it does normally happen right cuz the way not normally normally you have like the stars and then you might still have like one or two background people extras or not extras but s of yeah Supporting Cast that might be on there not named yeah well and I think it's like based on your contract yes so so looking at the poster it after

thinking about it I noticed and obviously a lot of people noticed that only one person on this poster did not have their name up the top and that was um danai gerera hopefully I'm pronouncing that correctly who plays uh going to forget anyone yeah you think they'd forget Bradley Cooper yeah exactly that's what I was like why is he on there and she's not like they're the two that you would that you would forget because you know what it's just dawned on me yeah of course Bradley Cooper is not even on the [ __ ] oh no he is cuz Rocket's there he's rocket yeah but Bradley Cooper's not um I just had a brain fart I forgot I forgot Bry Cooper is a raccoon but that's why you would sort of forgive them for forgetting him cuz well

they didn't forget that's the thing that's the thing no him this was well no this was a weird situation right because I'm sure the reason she wasn't on there is not because they forgot to put her on there right which is which is I I know some people uh would have thought that I'm sure it's not that I'm sure it's just that contractually the people whose names were on there were required to be on there and that's just the way that it works like you know one thing I find funny is that she's on the movie post up but the Black Panther's not that's cuz he's dead Luke aren't half of these people dead still or do he still want that lived these are the ones that are alive ah but there you go yeah so I I mean I I guess I shouldn't say I'm sure that that's why she's not

on there maybe this was just some weird [ __ ] like snub but I doubt it um and so fans they've got out of their way to stub her it's probably just it's just contractual she's not as big a name as designing this poster is probably someone really important at Disney does a lot of the artwork putting the names up they're probably given to the kid doing the intern work yeah right these are the names of people whose contracts stipulate that they need to be named on the poster I'm I think that's probably how it works I'm trusting you with this intern kid exactly and then so this come poster comes out and like I said I I I honestly noticed it uh and a lot of other people

did and I was like oo that's uh hm that's that's interesting and then they pretty quickly within a few hours uh released another poster digitally that included her name at the top and I think that's interesting too cuz if she wasn't contractually or they weren't contractually contractually obliged to put her name up there she kind of got a free beat in that sense so that's kind of cool for her yeah it works out great for her if it's not on new contract yeah exactly like she's kind of um she's gotten up up there when NE possibly her agent didn't negotiate that for her so uh that's cool but yeah they they fixed it pretty quickly uh and I mean the problem is now it the it's a [ __ ]

crowded poster already and now there's like another name smooshed in at the top and I also wonder honestly did they already print a buch of look at the names no I don't normally either I just like I said it was literally it was just because I'm like [ __ ] look at all these people on this poster and look at all those names there was so many names at the top that I was like like let's play match the names to the face cuz I was just curious and then I'm like oh why isn't her name there and then it led me down that that path of like oh I guess they're not to put everyone's name there you do bring up an interesting point though about have they already printed them because they must have yeah and so in theaters when you see the poster in the theater is it going to have her name

or not I wonder if it is I'm going to take a snap when I go and I will post it for everyone yeah yeah listeners check it out podcast at multip nerdgasm tocom if denies names on the uh on the poster when you go see Avengers in game next month yeah cuz it's pretty I assume it's pretty cheap for him to to to fix it up digitally and put it online I don't know how cheap it is for them to reprint a bunch of posters if they've already sent them out well it's I don't think if they've already if they haven't sent it out it'll cost them a lot of money to still reprint but yeah you can write that off if they've sent them out there's not a chance they can do it money far too much and I guess it's a smart move because I mean if they if they left you know if it was Mark Ruffalo wasn't his

name wasn't on there people people would be like ah you know whatever but just because she's a woman of color it's like it's more of a sensitive issue so like you you kind of have to address it whereas you know if it was just well I was going to say Chris Evans but I don't think you couldn't really leave Chris evans's name off because he's a [ __ ] huge star and he's like the star of the movie but you know like Mark Ruffalo say or Paul Rod if their names weren't on there I don't think anyone would give a [ __ ] I'm still confused by Ant-Man I haven't seen the new Ant-Man yet but I don't know it's doesn't make any sense to me in the Avengers movie he was great in the Antman movie he is just boring well endgame is directed by the people

who directed Civil War I think right the Russo brothers did Civil War so yeah you know maybe he's going to be the good Antman maybe maybe we'll see we'll see he was pretty good in the new one I haven't seen the new one yet I've just seen the first one like as I said like last week and such a disappointment yeah yep I know what you mean it's one of those like I don't know it's just a what's the thing it's not bad it's just that the other ones are better so yeah they kind of yeah it's just I just I just found it lacking like the humor and the character that he is in Civil War just isn't there I just don't care about that character at all just don't care about Paul Rod at all I

quite like Paul Rod I don't think I've seen Paul R in anything except a couple episodes of friends that I've seen on at times what what else do Paul R even in um he was in no no no no um he was in um oh that movie with Seth Rogan and that blonde woman who said that she didn't like the movie after doing it Seth Rogan I probably didn't like it either Katherine seagull oh is that the one where she's pregnant knocked up yeah I haven't seen that yes knocked up I haven't seen that that's I know I know look I know I know po I know po people like rod that's not the sentence I did this last week too that's why the episode's called com com are you are you having a stroke again

yeah got developed a speech impediment I know people yeah I know now I'm stilling bit I've got nothing else then um um I'm sure there's plenty of stuff that pour rods in there I know I just can't think of anything I'm sure he's in things he must be uh now I'm typing uh we got some other followup just briefly um Brian Singer has now been fired from red Sonia it was put on hold before and now he's actually been um that was because word got out that I was not going to work with him yes so Lis if you didn't know uh we obviously discussed uh the fact that if they were we thought this might happen and so Dan offered to step in and direct red Sonia for uh the [ __ ] was the production

company doesn't matter uh Dan offered to step in and he on our Instagram uh and I think it went on the Facebook too pitched um his vision for the film which is Luke with boobs and a wig um yep as red Sonia and the actual official red Sonia Instagram for the comic books uh commented on the post uh and obviously they were they were on board immediately Y and so I think this is all just this is just moving things forward they've gotten R of Brian Singer Dan's going to be getting a call in the next week or so and then obviously Luke's going to get a call cuz they saw the picture and they brought me in and I went sorry I can't Brian Singer I'm only going to work with Dan directs

so yeah so Brian singer's out that's all I'm saying yeah I can't say anymore okay fair enough fair enough uh is there going to be a role in this film for me uh you have to talk to the director oh [ __ ] I'm charge of hiring I'm [ __ ] [Laughter] in no Dan's going to hide there might be they do did the SWAT [ __ ] character that's true I'll do it let it be known I'll do it I will do anything out in an instant but I won't do that is it a musical uh yeah I want do a musical oh no Luke W do that I cannot sing and no one should be put through that would you sing something for me now no no nothing no I I am that

bad would you sing can you Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King soundtrack for me right now you know how people go on to those singing shows and they think they can sing but they really can't they really bad I'm worse than them I don't know man some of them are pretty bad I got I'm worse than them I'm such a Critic of myself that it baffles me that people can do that and be so oblivious like I just assume I'm bad at everything that I do and and it would take a lot you're awesome at nearly everything oh that's garbage but I just I would never how many instruments can you play it's not important Luke I can't sing that's that's the main thing we need to remember how many I don't know I don't even know Luke I don't know I can figure them out mostly he can be instrument

I'll figure it out but yeah it's just that's called Talent it's a learned skill it's not Talent you can learn it um I can't I can learn nothing well you can learn something and I'm interested in in in you passing on your knowledge you can learn I was just I was like what the [ __ ] is outside it's Jenna and uh and deck going for a walk I just looked up and I'm like that's a [ __ ] beast I've not seen before oh it's my dog that I got oh are you going to introduce you to the podcast yeah I got a dog guys I got a dog his name is Deckard uh he hunts replicant and if you need something put into a herodc cube he's he's got you um and he's he's going for a walk outside my window right now he's labradoodle and he's great is

it still snowing no actually it there was I was hoping you was doing like the big steppies that puppies do when they're in the snow there is like there's still some around and he was eating it last night but um yeah there was snow everywhere because it was there was a big snowfall the other week and then it rained the other day and I got home and now all you can see is the trash that is currently my yard because it's winter and it's just trash out there right now yeah leaves and and branches and dead [ __ ] from the storm but he's great he's a good boy and uh and we love him I guess I'll put a picture on the Instagram does people care about that I think you should the listeners do you care about that podcast at multiple nasm.com mm on Twitter

a thing um Atlas doesn't seem to give a [ __ ] either uh he wow he wasn't happy when we brought him in he was like like he's not snuggling with it or anything but he's just he he was looking at it like oh god really another thing but Grim he he's not scared of him he's just being a dick like he's just being an [ __ ] to him he'll walk up and then as soon as decad notices and turns to him he'll hiss and then like hit him in the face and then it's like [ __ ] off mate leave him alone so hopefully hasn't done anything I know and then into his credit deck is just like oh okay and wers off I do worry though if he pisses him off like

he's like 50 times the size of him like yeah but you see all these photos and stuff of cats and dogs being together it's just the cats and the dog they're just sorting out who's the dominant one in the house yeah I'm sure well it's definitely Grim was Grim beforehand not Grim oh it's probably still going to be Grim I'm thinking yeah it's his birthday today as well it's Jenna's birthday and it's Grim's birthday today it's Watson's birthday today too really that's a coincidence it's Hannah's birthday soon too right yeah I got I made Hannah Buy Watson for me just before her birthday yeah there you go good time of year for babies I guess for purchasing babies purchasing and then I guess we don't need to go there so the knowledge that I wanted

where you going oh I was going to go with Hannah and Jenna's parents you know but I don't let's not because they were born around the same time and and so that anyway forget it what's 9 months ago is what I was getting at what happened 9 months ago oh it took me that long to figure out what I was talking about I'm sure the listeners were like oh don't go there don't go there oh he's going there I had to go there I had to go there cuz Luke didn't get it sweet and innocent mind over here yeah apparently so I don't think like that I need to know what the division 2 is like and I'm sure the listeners are gagging for it too that's I shouldn't have said that I've done it again I've been playing it sort of nonstop for the last two days it sounds like it's good

then it's not but it is yeah see I was worried that would be the case cuz normally if someone plays the game that much it means it's good but when you play a game that much it just means it's a game that came out yeah it's a game I've already worked out how it works and it's Ubisoft games I can do this sort of very quickly work out the sort of the strategy behind the games and how to beat missions very easily I did this with when it's a multiplayer game yes it took me a little while to get past that cuz I was getting dying a lot but now I've worked it out and I don't die anymore uh it's better than Anthem okay no no and the reason why I think Anthem would be a better game if it was a bit more like the division okay I think where the

anthem falls down is you go out you do a mission and then you have to go back to the hub and then wander around it sort of takes you out of the game yes whereas the division you go you wander the streets you go and you do a mission then you walk out outside that building and then you decide where you want to go again yeah okay and I think if Anthem could do that I think I'd be spending more time in Anthem is it true I I played Anthem a little bit and then I stopped cuz I got frustrated with it but and I don't didn't even get far enough to figure this out is it true that if you you you're out doing stuff kicking about in Anthem right and you collect a bunch of gear if you want to swap a weapon you've got to load back into the [ __ ] City swap the weapon load back

out of the city and then if it sucks you've got to go back in and and out is that true yes cuz you set up your load out you can't sort of do a hot swap oh no I think you can can you no no yeah you you only got the weapons when you went back and went hey you picked up these things yeah it's silly things like that like they've designed it that it takes you out of the game yeah that's crazy cuz why you swap out a weapon that it sucks and then you've got to go out on a mission to figure out that it sucks and then I just I read that in an article and I was like oh God I'm glad I stopped hope hopefully they address aot stuff so if they address that and then just have a bit more that like when you complete a mission you can just fly to the next one or just explore I think yes

just keep theame going don't make it a dead [ __ ] stop like and that's where I'm sort of addicted with um the division because it's sort of oh I've finished this oh I'll just go over there I'll just do this I'll just do that and I'll it's just that one more thing cuz even the first one is quite fast to get to I I I jumped into division one a little while back to to look I remember we played it together for a bit yeah and that was a good game that was a great story and I liked I like the about the division when you die you pretty quickly can get back in where you were like it doesn't boot you back out to the [ __ ] base or anything like that you can so now what happens if you die and you're just wandering around or just doing like a like taking over

control point something like not an actual Mission you have to go back to one of the safe houses if you're doing a side mission or a main mission you die you just go back to that last safe point yeah see that's that's [ __ ] smid though and then if you didn't if you were playing with other people you could actually they could actually revive you and just keep going yeah that was actually a frustration I mean this is not exactly the same kind of game but you know World of Warcraft when you died in World of Warcraft and you would have to [ __ ] run for 20 minutes as a ghost back to your body G terrible but yeah no I'm I'm enjoying it for the most part I don't think the story is there right that the first one had cuz the first is all about it's just

after Black Friday the Thanksgiving Day sales and uh the green plague is basically a plague's been put on to money and that's how it's been spread around New York yeah and that's how it sort of starts off and playing through that and reading the stories and finding out what happened to people during the breakdown was really interesting yeah cuz lot of the missions where you had you load up those hologram reconstructions of what was happening and you could watch and listen to audio and stuff about what happened it was cool and I found that super interesting but this is set 9 months after that and you're in Washington DC and it just I don't know it's doesn't have that same feel as it got like a dark Zone equivalent and the like kind of thing uh

I've just unlocked the dark Zone I haven't gone to it because the dark Zone sort of became the PVP thing yes and that's where I don't that's where I stopped playing the division one as well once once you get up that's order is left but this one it's a bit confusing they've got like you can buy a year won season pass already so it looks like they're ramping up for this to be a a long running game well the division like was like I I loaded it up recently and and it's [ __ ] blew my mind how much extra content there was like oh wow they did quite a lot but yeah no for me I'm I'm there for sort of the single player Story part of it yeah yeah I'm not there for to at the end grind and then go off and do other random stuff well that's that's that's

what games are now though is more I and keep saying there's too many they yeah they do still make single player kind of story experiences but the big Far Cry KN Dawn just came out right it's just that also the multiplayer is such a big thing now and like other companies are switching Focus to to just make online multiplayer ones which yeah I just think there's too many yes there are a lot but hey apparently there's still a market for it cuz they they still doing all right so I think it's just us we we just don't like them we we missed it these m games aren't for us no we're the generation before this stuff yeah we want the single player stuff we want the stuff that gearbox is announcing soon well big off I'm going to be at the

panel at packs oh you better be at this one I actually wasn't going to because it's on the Thursday and I wasn't going to go on the Thursday but then um Randy Pitchford and anounced that um they were well they just posted a screenshot of uh of a a street sign you know Borderland style and uh and basically they teased Borderlands 3 and so I actually took an extra day off and I'm going to head up for Thursday as well yeah now this is the gearboxes that's the one we went to at Pax e it was the one I went to we went to at the first Pax Australia one yeah I love the gearbox panels yeah and with this they seem to be announcing a lot what else oh I know there's Borderlands 3 like what else are they hinting at well they've just teased three new things oh okay so one of them looks like

it could just be uh what is it uh Borderlands 2 but on the switch maybe yeah so this is just on their their Twitter so they've released sort of some screenshots and the one that they've released is um it's a picture from Borderland 2 right a little bit pixelated but you know exactly what it is and yeah so that's leading people to believe that that's going to be for the the switch yes all right there's two other games get my money no idea what they are oh I'm looking now there an and yesb no idea yep and then there's another one which is like a robot pulled apart on an operating table which no

idea oh it's not Borderlands know that cuz it's not it's not the right art style no Borderlands has a very unique art style and they're not going to change that for three um it could be DLC for we happy few oh yeah cuz there was a season pass we happy through few and nothing's come out yet so possibly okay I'm excited now and then I already was but and then there's also like yeah L VR and yeah you need to go to this panel don't worry I am like I said that's it's the only reason I'm going on the Thursday now is to go see this so um yeah when they put up the schedule uh I was like oh damn I I I don't really

don't want to miss the gearbox panel and then they put they I saw the Borderlands 3 thing and I was like oh [ __ ] it all right looks like I'm going up on Thursday after all now if they do the thing that they normally do where they give out a code MH yeah they usually please have a code I'll see so if you and Jenna are there Jenna's not going to be there just you yeah looks like it can you try and ask someone really nicely if I can have their code I'll see what I can do or give me yours I'll see if it's a PC code like if it's a code for the PC you can have it I'm not going to use it oh it's a PC you can have it well I'm not going to use it I all right then well I guess we'll give it away on the show unless it's border unless it's Borderlands 2 VR right I

might try that if it's for the Xbox I need that if it's for the switch you get it all right very good and if it's PlayStation we give it away as well all right deal yes um I come out of head there yeah look it's fine whatever I'll see what I can do I'll see if I can maybe I don't know we'll see uh uh you're going to be able to get achievements on more platforms soon did you see this yes this is something it's been in the works for a while now the this is not going to so Xbox Microsoft have come out announced that there's going to be Xbox Live who's coming well they haven't announced it yet have they I I sorry let me catch up with my brain I'm very excited I took this as an

announcement uh but I guess maybe it's is it not an announ um I think it is an announcement it's going to become more official at GDC okay all right so in the next week um I think that will yeah we were expecting that it was going to be announced there but it actually came out early so there's going to be Xbox Live functionality coming to IOS and Android yes so this means you can get achievements in games on those platforms yes yes is that is that all it means what else does it mean um it probably means that Microsoft might sort of Microsoft is buying Studios left and right mhm like they have been for a while it might means that they might buy a few shs or start working with some developers about releasing some like

Xbox Live content onto those platforms as well okay interesting like they've had like the Windows phones for a while but they're gone but they had the the game games there for a while and there's some good games on there and this is just there's also rumors that's it's not just going to be IOS and Android it's also going to be a Nintendo switch oh yeah I saw that the other week actually separately from the announ yeah so this came out and then it's sort a bit weird that Nintendo switch is not there cuz those rumors are sort of swirling around at the same time but it might just be that they're waiting for GDC for the big reveal yes so cuz Microsoft are really pushing

the shared platforms now yeah like games just across everywhere which I'm all for yeah I get uh I should check this but uh Minecraft right on my iPad uh I log in with my Xbox Live account and I'm pretty sure I get achievements you do it's been a while since I got an achievement Minecraft you can get on like iOS Android uh the Nintendo switch your like every single platform you can get Xbox achievements except for on the PlayStation I think yeah oh okay so they they kind of I mean I guess there's a precedent for this uh that'd be cool though um and there's also talk of a new fors forer game coming out on Android as well yeah and then also the streaming

solution where be able to stream Xbox games to your switch say yeah that looks terrible at the moment oh really cuz I um at I think I've talked about this before at one of the paxes uh Mike and Jerry were talking about how they they got given access to I think to the Nvidia streaming service uh to play to to test out and they said it worked really well um but then again and you would think that Microsoft could could pull off at least as good as Nvidia right cuz I mean financially they well they've got resources available to them to make that happen they already have the streaming set up on your local Wi-Fi like on your internet that's fine the whole streaming part where it's you've got to play a

game that you're downloading from a server and then you've got to have the Imports going back to the server and then bouncing back that's what just the video that's where it has you just got to send the video right well no you've also got to send your inputs of what you're doing oh yeah of course okay fair point and so there's always going to be lag yeah okay cuz yeah it's got to go all the way back and back and forthward and that's where it's not quite right there right yeah okay I got you that makes sense even because even on um [ __ ] Bluetooth headphones you get like a audio DeLay So it's one of those things like it it's I don't know in 20 10 years time maybe it might be but at the moment you wouldn't be able to sell this to most of

the world yeah okay like be useless in Australia sure yeah I know we talked before about how I don't I have the um I have the cheap internet here and it's like [ __ ] mind-blowing how fast it is but it's the cheap internet yeah because I'm used to Australia [ __ ] snail I'm spending the most most I can and I'm getting 70 Megs yeah mine's 100 megabit and it's the cheap one yeah that's that that's our top tier yeah and that 70 Meg is just cuz that 100 Meg may not be what you get but when you do speed test the top I get will SE will be 70 if I wanted to spend the money I could get gigabit internet I

would have gigabit in an instant yeah it's too expensive I don't want to spend that much money h no for me it's like I have it make it hard for me to decide what games to play I have zero issues with my internet right now like I there there's no reason that I would need anything I have zero issues the only reason I would want gigabit is so I could download games faster when I buy them yeah well see I I I'm happy to just wait for him to download there's no yeah I get you but yeah I I'm really impatient yeah well uh so GDC is going to hold some we got some good stuff coming up in the next few weeks I guess GDC and packs seems like it's going to be a good year for uh for that kind of stuff yeah like it's actually that's this week GDC yes and they've all uh they've all

pulled out of3 it seems yeah so Microsoft is going to be at E3 and that's about it yeah the E3 is kind of gone almost which is it's weird I could understand like cuz Microsoft were going to have a big Presence at GDC so I could understand if they were going to pull out of um E3 but they're still going to be there yeah I think E3 Microsoft is just doing a lot more for fans at the moment and you're a maybe biased you're a yeah you are a little biased but you're also you're on their um you're one of the I going to say influencer but you're not an influencer you're like a tester right they give you all the the [ __ ] early so do you do you know stuff that you uh no no no there there a new keyboard they're releasing that's coming

on the Xbox one that you can enlarge and move around the screen that's about it like a a digital keyboard digital keyboard so you can actually move the keyboard around and actually enlarge it just being that static thing are they still doing keyboard and mouse is that happening or no seems like that would be pretty [ __ ] easy like why is it taking so long if they're going to do it again I think it's going to be GDC cuz it's been on the cards for like going to be announced any time now for this year so it has to be GDC they're going to come out and sell it cuz then if I could play with you know like say pillars of Eternity or or the like on my Xbox with the keyboard and mouse well that's it that's all I need really I don't need I mean not that I play a whole lot of

games on on a computer anymore but I wouldn't need to at all but but yeah just just wait in the next this week as of tomorrow you may start to find out a little bit more there you go well I'm excited about that I'm not it's a keyboard and a mouse it's just so weird that we haven't that they haven't done this already like it seems like I know it's still seems like it would be easy still strange thing to bring in it's sort of um cuz it can ruin online gaming yeah that's a good point because then you got people with the mouse headshotting everybody but then there's also one of the best OverWatch players on Xbox he actually made a point of going and playing the PC no other way around one of the best OverWatch players actually started playing with a

controller and was still able to progress and get to the top like it's you can still be competitive okay it really still just comes down to how good you are not very good Luke I'm not very good don't know how you got that Wraith in a building what that's one of my skills bansi so you flew Banshee into a building and no one knows how you did it no well it's just one of my skills it's just how I roll why did you get in that thing because we were drunk uh playing with a bunch of strangers and I'm not very good and I figured it would be better to try and be funny than to try and play properly because it wasn't that wasn't going to

work out for me I figured I might as well be the clown than the the failure you did well yeah yeah I did that was uh that was when we played against some professional Halo people at uh yeah at what was the manab bar in uh Queensland Manar yeah yep in Brisbane that place is no more no it was weird like manab Bar's there was one in Melbourne and one in Brisbane they're both gone now but they were like the first Australian gaming bars is the one in Sydney still there what was it called um I no idea I know the one in C still is yeah manab bar and quein gone there's a couple now in Melbourne mhm yeah so they so they're starting to really I think Manar was just too too early were they did yog own those Manar were they

yogs or am I misremembering that can't remember I'm not sure they were around for a very long time I associate him so closely with Pax now that I forgot that he did a bunch of [ __ ] before that so anyway yeah manaba was great that pris one was really good actually the Melbourne one we went to see the Melbourne one we only ever went to when Pax was on it was always too busy yeah too busy I went there once um for a trivia night it had a great night yeah game trivia You' be you do all right at that I bet that was okay wasn't the greatest I was on a team by myself speaking of not the greatest uh did you watch the Doom Annihilation trailer oh that's a trailer yeah no I haven't seen that tell you it's not going to take you long uh why don't you

just give that a quick look see now and then let us know what you think going there now Doom Annihilation I type that in and it's not the first thing that pops up it's like the fourth one down that's not good all right here we go oh it's not short trailer see cuz I watched I read the synapsis for the movie and I thought wow this is going to this sounds cool and now I'm watching this and going that's nothing to do with the what they said it was going to be and I mean it looks like it looks like a an old like episode of Warehouse 13 or something yeah like the the like so itation follows a group of Space Marines as they respond to a dist shis call from

a base on a martian Moon only to discover it's been overrun by Den demonic creatures who threaten to create hell on Earth y sounds like they're trying to sort of stick close to the Doom story but uh no it doesn't look like doomed to me I just yeah I because I got excited I was like oh new Doom movie but I think this is just cuz the first one wasn't actually that bad I actually rewatched it recently and it is that bad but it is it's all right it's all right they dist themselves a lot from the demon stuff in the in the first one I I don't know if that was intentional or if they just felt like it was a better story line cuz it's more about um like Jean splicing

and crisper yeah um about yeah but yeah this seems like they sort of going into yep definitely going to be demons and stuff but then yeah there's a there's a blue guy RAR with some teeth yeah yeah ah I don't think I'll be going out of my way to see this no I mean I'll I'll watch it just because I'm curious but it doesn't doesn't look great it I it deflated my uh my expectations real quick unfortunately um especially when you see like um ID software come out and say nothing to do with us yeah well I mean they've probably only seen the trailer too but if they they were thinking the same thing so someone yeah someone asked in software what they think of the trailer and they

said we are not associated with that film in any way yeah so I I think what's happened is they've got the license for Doom and to keep the license they have to make a movie they got to make a movie so they've made a movie and yep it's a movie and it's called doom and it's Loosely based on the video game and so they can keep the license see let us make the movie for you we got to we keep offering to make movies for people and come on just take us up on one of them like this one like you're not expecting great quality Luke I'm not saying that we're going to do bad job but you give us less money we'll make a better movie than what you get you a terrible salesman what do you mean look you're

not expecting it to be good so you might as well let us do it I guarantee you for half the money they paid all everyone for this we would make a better movie I'm sure we try there' be a lot of backstory that doesn't come out in the movie at all I'm like what was the budget for this I don't is it do we know probably not but I mean I it does I do feel like I feel like we could do something all right let see IMDb sometimes has the budget the budget I do feel like this is a conversation where we should have Dan involved cuz he knows infinitely more about all this [ __ ] than we do yeah but sometimes it's good that he's not here and we just make [ __ ] up yeah good point good

point yeah so all right so who so obviously our Doom movie uh yep is going to Star our yes and who else would you get would you get Dwayne The Rock Johnson back to reprise his role from the first I would but I'd be worried that he would take too much of the budget sure oh you don't think he' just do it one for us as a favor if he would come in to do it as a favor we get him back okay cuz he played the bad guy he did he was sge yeah we'll let him come back and we'll just recast him and he can play a good guy all right and would you get Carl Urban back as well I I guess no that's pointless we should recast

everybody uh Dwayne come back for a cameo Maybe yeah we'll have him as one of the monsters I bet he doesn't do cameos anymore I feel like he might for me okay um but yeah why do we need to hire people let's just get all of our friends like we used to this is the worst pitch we're just going to all right so you give us how much is the budget do we know yet I can't find it unfortunately no let's just say the budget is 50 $50 no no I think this would have been at least probably 50 million so we'll take 25 we'll take we'll take uh 300 bucks right let's let's actually that's to cover flights let's say we'll do it for 10

million 10 million 10 million that's pull out of my ass yep I no [ __ ] idea how much a movie costs so 10 million Milli we're in it uh We're In It we' flown all of our friends to be in it we'll get masks made of what demons oh right I guess that should have been obvious we'll just ask to borrow the guns that they use for this movie in the last movie cuz they going sitting around somewhere so we'll save money there we got the license right so we could get we could make the the the guns that are in the game BFG yeah we just make the same [ __ ] guns well look I think in the trailer there does look like someone has BFG so yeah so we'll save money we don't have to buy a

new one we'll just use that one we just borrow them yeah all right yeah they come with the license yeah yeah yeah we save a lot of money we just reusing stuff yeah all right um who can do makeup uh then will'll shoot it obviously yeah of course and write the script no no no why get the professional to do it I think you should do it who's going to write the Mew write the script sure no I should not write the script no no you're writing the script it's decided what's my what's my role I'm you can be I don't know much about Doom law and and don't want to pitch too much I know you didn't mean law you meant with a W you meant law with an R but I do Doom law would be a very funny concept so I don't want to start reading

off names or story too much yet I need I need to go and look into that okay cuz I want to try and stick closer to the games than the whatever they do for movies I don't know that the plot of the games is complicated enough that you need to spend a lot of time on it there's basically scientist open a gateway to Hell and you're a soldier that goes and kills everything yeah well he's um are we going with the original Doom or we going is it going to be I'd go Doom two hell on Earth after they murder his bunny rabbit his pet rabbit yep all right so the plot is demons are on earth and you have to kill them I think that is the I think that's the plot I I don't think there's so much of a plot it's just yeah you shoot

demons yeah so that's all we need shoot demons well that's a nice easy uh nice easy entry level film for us I think yeah uh all right what are we shooting we'll just have uh film yep okay and who's doing the visual effects um oh I know who I want to do it okay let me just get their name there's actually someone I would really like to do it okay like like a a practical effects or or yeah practical effects they did it for aliens and stuff um yeah Stan Winston no uh there's a whole there's a whole company that does it I follow them on Twitter there's a bunch of companies that do it Alex Gillis Alex Guinness Alec Guinness

um where would I like to shoot it I would like to shoot it at Disneyland all right Doom two of Disneyland so what we'll need to do is we'll need to shut down Disneyland for a day I'm sure they'll be fine with that well maybe just we'll we'll all right we'll shut it down for a night yeah well we need to shut down for two nights one night for us just to be there and go on all the rides and just work out the layer to land and the second night yeah and we have to do it in Our Star Wars land right well that'll be space likee so that'll that'll work well yeah and I'm sure the copyright issues will just work themselves out yeah well I'm I sh Disney's going to pay

us to do it you think they will they're to be like advertising for Disneyland yeah yeah and like Doom is just the type of property that Disney would be interested in um being promoted in I'm sure they' brought Fox Now is this a fox thing who is making this will be a fox thing oh okay I don't know so Disney already owns actually I'm not sure actually Universal Pictures Universal all right so fine weol shoot at Universal oh I see yeah looking forward to being at Disneyland at night so we film it in um in the Diagon Alley set from um Harry Potter World at Universal yep yeah all right sounds good how awesome would that be Doom with like

dragons and herione except we can't afford any of them no we could definitely couldn't afford them oh I don't know not for our budget ret Grint maybe what's he doing these days no uh he did a a television recently called oh yeah where he's six he's says he's sick yeah I didn't mind that yeah he gets misdiagnosed and yeah with Nick Frost wasn't bad yep all right so we'll get Nick Frost and rer in all right Nick Frost and rer Grint star in Doom 2 with us with us yeah obviously yeah who's going to get top billing on the poster I'd be who's going to get left off the poster uh Nick Frost the biggest star we have wait you think Nick Frost is a bigger star than rert
