names up on the board what's your name Daniel oh yeah in German your name Bruno no but name stel no point is my name Bruno yeah that's in Italian apparently my name is mato and I I'm like well no that's is that just the the Italian name that sounds the closest to my name that's not how it works no not your name is your name just because it's a different language doesn't change what you're called yeah like if I imagine how offensive it would be if someone came over my name's gun hello Frank yeah you wouldn't be the first I'm sure we don't call people names in another language angu we speak English here I must say Matt I was at LAX the other day and I actually heard a customs officer screaming in the face of an immigrant trying to get through going

speak English yeah wow laugh B yeah why were you in La just in case we have to cut that part oh no I was shooting it's all good you're involved in a shooting sorry you're not allowed to say that in America I was fil don't say Amer were shooting film in L in La that's the dream isn't it yeah I guess it was and I've ticked that box and I don't ever want to film in La again because uh La is a dirty [ __ ] hole and the people there are [ __ ] rude and it's not a good place to be or film so oh really yeah you can suck my dick La yeah I don't like La much either it's it's a disgusting place well asking someone to suck your dick is not really an insult is it depends you tell me it's

one of those things that's you know go can go either way mhm like I don't like you so suck my dick yeah that is odd yeah yeah yeah and now that you mention it hey Luke's [ __ ] going at it today I know right this is half asleep half drunk Luke that's what we normally get isn't it which half is a sleep in which half is drunk he's half awake but that half that's awake is very drunk is also drunk no I mean I mean have you have you only just woken up and gotten a bit drunk or have you gotten drunk and therefore have half fallen asleep okay so I got home from work about 8 7 or 8 a.m. this morning I had a couple of drinks before I went to sleep and then I woke up and

then I had a few more drinks and then we're here okay that sounds good I went up for some drinks last night too you know how I mean we we all like themed bars right we've been to a few together and separately I will just I don't like themed bars well yeah sure well how about this tell me if you guys uh would go on to this last night I went to a bar themed after Joseph Conrad's modernist novel Heart of Darkness yeah sort of I there a snap of that I I thought it was a joke specific yeah this is this is a bar of people that just love that [ __ ] 100y old Nolla [ __ ] hell which I so I went along and they have something like 20 original beers themed after different characters and plot points in

the novel what that's a weird [ __ ] theme for a bar so I had a um insane C insane CTS IPA that was quite good and uh I had a deep in the jungle pilsner something like that so shout out to Hearts of Darkness see the last um theme bar I went to two was in New York and it was the Tim Burton one oh yeah that that wasn't a theme bar what was it that was a little odd that one it's just a bar that sort of tried to change name of a few drinks and charged you extra money you ordered that disgusting giant Fishbowl drink Fishbowl we had sweetie fish in it why you oh

that was a that that was like just sugar and Tequila it was so gross and I drank it all yeah Jesus and what Tim burton-esque name did this Sugar Bowl have I don't oh I have no idea were you not with us I saw the thing that was the biggest drink no no Dan had already left Dan wasn't with us in New York ah huh well I was I was with you guys in New York last year did you guys go back without me no no no this this was the year before was it [ __ ] hell yeah because we went we went there for your wedding yes we didn't go to New York with Dan for that it see after we went filming yeah cuz I was I was literally in America for uh 72 hours on that trip which was twice as long as I

spent there last week so there how much filming could you get done in that time film and then just leaving so my my plane touched down at 300 p.m. on Friday afternoon it took me 2 and a half hours to clear Customs because Americans are [ __ ] paranoid of everyone coming through that airport yep well mly from the flights you arrive on as well whoa whoa whoa what are you implying Jee well not I'm saying because you're a it's the way you're flight diverts okay my flight came through Hong Kong so I don't know where you oh your well I don't know your last flight was a bit screwed that I know of the when I was flying katar ways through Doha and yeah and you weren't allowed to like have like your laptop with you yeah oh sure yeah yeah that's a thing yeah and

so yeah so you know about 5:30 I arrived at my hotel had dinner uh went to bed uh got up filmed and then later on that afternoon SL evening and went back to the airport and flew home [ __ ] hell yes I was in the air longer than I was on the ground uh 19 hours I think oh God [ __ ] that all right yeah and you well flying to Europe in uh in August yes that's right that's right we're all going to get together again this year aren't we we are that up get excited listeners in gay par as it's known to gays no they just call it Paris see I've actually I've stting to try reclaim gay okay and I say I'm gay all the time because I'm quite happy okay so you're taking back gay I'm taking it back I mean we probably just let the gays have

it I mean Matt don't take it back from Luke I'm going to tell everyone that looks gay all right yeah I'm happy to share it yeah so you like you could be gay for other people as well yes okay I have no problem with that yeah okay I like to think I'm a pretty gay person most of the time yeah I think the same no I agree yeah I agree yeah my parents asked me for a very long time before I was gay so just accepting it now yeah I remember them asking your boyfriend if he was gay as well H my boyfriend was gay but no was a homosexual okay I'm not a homosexual though can we talk about this I don't feel we can I yeah I'm not sure I'm not sure what to say that's why I've got a bit quiet I feel like started okay if you guys are G quiet then we're really

[ __ ] yeah I just feel like you know it's there's not many things that it's open season anymore and making fun of the gay people is just definitely not one of them or has it have we gotten have we progressed so far with them and you know we're all we're we're fine now they're fine like everybody just has left them alone long enough that now you can make jokes about it again is that thing that happens I don't know that that's how it works no I didn't think so I mean does that mean like real equality is that we can start calling black people the nword again no yeah because I'd be like I'm not bothered by that because I know you respect me the nword never meant something good the gay word was good the gay word gay word if you say the word you don't have to say word

after it look we've got some followup uh it'll be brief I thought this was interesting we talked about how you know steam's had a lot of trouble with review bombs where people get mad you know politically about something and then uh and then start review bombing say a company's games to give them negative reviews to punish them for something which I don't know don't necessarily agree with that you know the reviews that's not what the reviews are for uh in but in in this case and I think we did talk about this uh nraam famously caught fire recently and uh was was alleged allegedly allegedly was very badly damaged and people started giving

Assassin's Creed Unity uh which has a in-game representation of nraam they started giving it extremely positive reviews on the basis that nraam had been yeah damaged and it was ridiculous cuz people were actually going on just running like nraam and then that was their whole review five stars five stars and so like and so the bad thing about this was is like Ste gone like we're going to like once something gets off topic from the game we're going to restrict that yeah but when it makes the money it's fine because not royalties for this it's not helping to pay for the Reconstruction or anything as far as I'm aware but vals now said that they're going to leave them because the the influx of positive reviews was matched by an influx of new purchases and people

were actually playing the game so there yeah no well which is sort of terrible because it's weird right it isn't it isn't because I mean I I don't like Assassin's Creed but I considered playing that Odyssey one because I've never been to ancient Greece nor will I and I wanted to know what that was like so I guess a lot of tourists that had holidays it's very accurate to France yeah to see notra Dam with its little wood wooden tower on the top were like well I can't see it in real life now I'm going to have to buy and play through Assassin's Creed Unity well here's the actual worst thing about it EA were giving that game away for free at the time some people didn't even buy it they just got well yeah no no I I do think that some people still go and buy it

because of the reviews and what was happening okay Luke hold on just so I'm clear you're saying that EA burnt down nraam cathedral in order to raise awareness for Assassin's Creed Unity is that what you're saying I am not saying that he's implying allegedly burnt down no the place burned down you seem very sure about that Luke but it's sort of weird because it sort of goes back on what steam said like when review off topic things they shut the reviews down and they did that recently for I forget for Borderlands yeah that's right so it turns out that they only do it if it's going to affect money they make yeah why we surprised about that at all well we're not but a little bit though them out and they're [ __ ]

because they've always been the good guys Steam and i' steam have been Val have been evil for a very long time I know but it it well it was a slow progression though because they weren't they were everyone loved steam right steam sales and everyone was like oh yeah I buy all my games on Steam now and then just slowly over the years now it's kind of like yeah everyone's like H steam well it's Val were sort of good they made great games and they had this platform for us to buy stuff and then it became uh well we don't make games anymore but unless we make these games sell things and training cards and but for all that an alternative pops up like the epic game store and everyone's like yeah we [ __ ] hate that too like

yeah which I know the the epic game s needs some work it does I've not but I've never looked at it but well some of the things that came out sort of last week is they had a sale their first sale big sale yes and someone went on and purchased like five games and they got their account [Music] locked well I mean that that makes sense I guess uh well greedy five games yeah epic well no it's it actually does make sort of sense go on um so epic don't actually have like a shopping cart yet right so all they saw was like five quick purchases of low amounts which can sort of lead towards a stolen credit card and you trying to get as much as you can before it gets cancelled yeah but they

but they also have the [ __ ] context of we have a big game sale going on people are going to be buying a lot of games what are the what are these purch what are oh my God all these purchases coming in shut down the accounts well no no the thing is like steam also has the same thing like there's been times where I'll go and I'll unlock all my Humble Bundle keys and seam will go you've unlocked a lot in the last like 10 minutes we're going to lock your account for a bit and see what happens really I mean I used to work in retail you know I used to work in a record store for for many years at no point did someone bring up a a big pile of CDs and me going that's a lot of CDs I think you might be robbing me right now but if they brought up if you had the one person no no

honestly if you had the one person in front of you to go and go uh can I buy this one and then the card works and go yep now I'll try this one and now I'll try this one and just trying one after the other just cuz they don't know but just to be clear there is no option to do anything else other than to buy one game at time no not on the Epic story adment of your metaphor has sort of brought me around on this a little bit which I think no it only brings you around if if there is an option to buy everything at once but this person hasn't there's not yes they don't have a shopping cart at the moment so it is not unusual then yeah there's no other way for someone to buy five games yeah is to just buy five games individually correct you have to go and buy five separate

transactions so guys I listen to your podcast last week sorry I was skipping ahead but if you're not finished I'll I'll wait no no no no you listen last week I we actually forgot that you weren't there well we didn't forget you weren't there we just forgot to mention it again oh sure I think they probably they probably realized the listeners probably realized I look I it it pains me what I do have to miss some occasionally because of work um I'm probably the person that misses the most I had so much input into last week's episode that I almost considered re-releasing it with like little inserts where I like just give my opinion on things sure well that's how the world works these days if you're not happy with stuff you complain and ask to

be re-released yeah speaking of which so I watched Game of Thrones season 8 this week because have you seen any of the others yeah I've seen all of the others and oh you have okay yeah yeah yeah no I've always been a fan of Game of Thrones yeah I know I stuck with it and um so I obviously watched season 8 because I planned to watch season 8 and I watched every other seon are you one of the people say there needs to be a rewrite so what you doing in La were you refiling season 8 ofing yeah petitioning HBO now I I liked it I liked it a lot actually and okay I'm not actually sure what it is people are upset about now there is one there is one instance where a

character does something that I I think the fans weren't happy with and and thought that maybe was out of character for that character um but without giving anything away I I think if you think that was out of character then you haven't really been paying attention but then again I think that complaint started earlier than that so I'm really not sure yeah I mean I've seen the valid complaint that there's a coffee cup on the table and there's a water bottle under someone's chair but like come on that's not [ __ ] that's not actually a valid complaint I mean it is and it isn't like it's not a story no that's what I'm saying though like you can't it's got nothing to do with [ __ ] character progression or anything like yeah okay they they didn't spot that

there was a coffee cup there because they see coffee cups every day and yeah it didn't say remake [ __ ] season 8 and don't put any coffee cups in it like that's not what they were theyve already removed them did you yeah that's right they were yeah they were asking for a complete rewrite of the what I'm saying those yeah I'm just no look it didn't blow my mind in in terms of any twists or anything unexpected it wrapped up the series exactly like I thought it was going to everything I actually just think that people get upset when something ends I just think at at this point now you just you're just going to get criticism because everyone thinks oh my opinion counts now because I have the internet so yes man I wouldn't want to be creating something in the public sphere now I

mean I get enough Flack from clients when I make something that they don't like which is like practically every time and that's why I hate my job but but I don't get petitions with a million people saying the problem that now stuff like Sonic the Hedgehog is getting redone and has did you just see that they've also had the push back the release date of that yeah it's been push back to 2020 2020 I think it's in push back yeah because now push back like six months or something Sonic and it's like well on the one hand I guess yeah he did look a bit [ __ ] but on but then on the other hand whatever happened to [ __ ] just respect the [ __ ] artist yeah how about don't watch it then they all the people who are complaining they're going to go and

see it no matter what they're the ones that are invested in it they're going to go and see it whether think it's I think that's true I think the Sonic trailer came out it looked [ __ ] the movie was I mean it's going to be [ __ ] a [ __ ] Sonic I honest to God thought that was like a like a funny or Di sketch I had no idea that was a real movie no one actually cares about this movie no that's that's what the people who are going to see it are going to go see it no matter what like no matter what changes they make they're going to make the same it's actually going to cost them more money yes now because the same amount of people who were GNA see this movie would have seen it no matter what all you've done is ruined some visual effects

artists Christmas at this point yes yeah yeah so cool but yeah so the Game of Thrones thing and and the you know the Mass Effect 3 was the was I I said the other week that Mass Effect 3 was the beginning and uh I've been sent evidence to the contrary but that's that's fine um but you know it's kind of just a I think Mass Effect 3 was an example of it certainly it's people think you know they they don't like the way something you know some piece of art say went change it then make it make it the way I want it the Mass Effect 3 ending the only reason I didn't like that originally was because you got to the end and you got to choose too bad the ending they gave you don't play it then too bad to me off which to me was no no no not the fact

you the whole thing was the fact that I like I played through all these choices which were meant to dictate the way the game ended and then I got to the end went well you can choose which one you want yeah that's what I didn't like about it should to make it the way you want it well no not the force the way I I like I want to have all the choic I made throughout the all the games and then went this is the ending you get yeah I no I I understand what you're saying but then too bad that's not what they made no I didn't oh and that's what I didn't get and I was fine I picked the ending I wanted and then I got it yeah yeah I understand look and there was a lot of fuss about the Mass Effect 3 one that happens in a lot of games and things so like for example at the end of um dayx

Human Revolution I don't know if you guys played through that or spoilers I haven't played it yet okay well at the end you can kind of just choose what you want to happen and it's a little underwhelming because you've been making all these decisions all the way through and oh that's the one where decide whether to destroy all of the stuff or let it yeah sort of yeah there's three things you can do oh I think I think always three but uh I'm pretty sure it's three it's not just two but it was just a little like oh well can't can't you just make a decision and have it kind of be based off everything I've done throughout the entire game yeah but then on the other hand it's like well then you're just taking agency

away from me at the end if you don't let me choose uh because I might want to choose and then yeah and it gets we that because in the next game it doesn't matter what you chose because something happened that made it redundant redundant anyway so yeah you will never there's no way that this is why people this is why valves actually sort of stop making games for a lot of part like half lifee three they're not going to make half lifee three because no one will like what they do well not everybody will yeah but no matter what they do there will be a backlash about whatever Direction they go yeah but that's going to be the case with literally every game and literally every movie from now on

and that's why that's the thing I going to say about Sonic is that it's not that anybody gave a [ __ ] about Sonic it's that this it looked bad enough that everybody was like yeah I do want them to change it even though I'm not going to go and see it anyway yeah I'm not going to see I don't have any interest in it but that look [ __ ] don't understand why anyone even has a dog in this race well that's what I'm saying but once once it becomes a thing and everybody piles on it it doesn't matter if you have a dog in the race it's just an internet thing and everybody wants want yeah and you know what Sonic did look a bit [ __ ] weird and I will go still go see it but here's the thing Thrones right season one man remember back at season one remember the last episode of

season 1 spoilers if you haven't seen someone got their head cut off and I stopped watching everyone's favorite character got their heads cut off and we were like [ __ ] man this show doesn't pull punches your favorite character can get killed we didn't just petition them to rewrite it yeah I like Shan Bean yeah I mean I I saw a meme the other day that said you know you can you can Ace every [ __ ] class from kindergarten to year 11 and if you fail year 12 you still don't get your [ __ ] diploma and it's like [ __ ] you I I I will argue against that because there's no way I passed year 12 that's all for this week thank you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please
