16 or something and she was like only [ __ ] guys between than 25 25 and uh and 34 and you were like come on I'm nearly 40 I could still go you yeah with that difference who gives a [ __ ] it's like my age range is far broader than that love I guess the problem is cuz I was going to say you guys to think about it as well like just to be told that you're just no chance um well I I haven't met her have I so I don't know how offended I'd be yeah but just imagine any of your friends saying that to you just yeah you you just don't not on the radar at all I don't know that I would be that fuss I'm sorry to say Luke I would be I'm just not uh yeah I don't know well it's because you've never had this come up before no but I don't think I would take it as a

communicate with in in there and so was this when you spoke to someone in there was there someone with broken English that was taking you under their wing um I didn't actually get to speak to the person that was going to be handling me okay but yeah so I've got the return so that's Luke nearly follows up on something all right that's somebody in America follows up on Luke yeah that's right I wanted to ask um when you did the interview right the the this personality test right y was it handwritten or did they ask you the questions out loud it's all a written test okay you do like I think it was how do you right aren't your hands both on

these like silver things to read your Thon levels no that was weird cuz I thought that was a big part of it but I was only on those chbe things for about 5 Seconds when they ran some things and then went okay and then sent me back to do another test okay okay I I just opened up my bag with the book I meant to be reading it's still in the rapper what is the book called uh it's from Elon hubbed and he the problems of work Scientology applied to the work a day world uh Luke I think for next week we can pretty much assume you're not going to do the homework for then either but in lie of that I would like a reading from that book just a you know a paragraph that you find that you think might help the listeners in their uh what is what is he say in the letter

talking about he could have brought this up himself I have we haven't pre-arranged this conversation you know what I'm talking about I've hit uh my gamer score has hit over 500,000 right and yeah I don't know why I didn't make I made a big thing about 400,000 but for 500,000 I didn't oh well it's only because it's you know it's half a million you know who cares big whoop yeah big whoop yeah so I'm currently at 5,694 congratulations thank you are you going to try and redo your achievement streak or have you given up on that now i' I'm not going to worry about the achievement streak anymore like that every day it was pretty cool but now what I'm going to focus on is actually just trying to boost it faster okay cuz

I actually going there every day actually slowed me down because there were achievements I could get but I'd hold off then get it the next day gotcha so you're just going to go balls out now yeah when I get the chance like I was actually hoping to be 500,000 um a few weeks ago but the trip to America sort of yeah flowed that [ __ ] Kevin Smith ruins everything I know thanks Kevin could have been talking about this weeks sorry about that I will post something on my Instagram all right very good and uh and I'm sure everyone follows and thank you Nate for letting us know otherwise look forgotten to mention it apparently yeah uh I actually do have something I want Luke to review I forgot uh before we do have more Luke

news the Luke heavy episode this week's coming up Luke had a lot of episodes dedicated to Luke recently because he's really out of the three of us he's been the one up to the most exciting stuff which is odd because normally I'm just at home playing games all right so what am I reviewing all right so I got I want to make sure you can get this because uh I you're reviewing something that sounds delicious I believe it's only available in Japan so hopefully this is something you can get hold of uh look we've we've had a lot of news recently uh about games that are only available in Japan um there's usually a Common Thread with them so uh why don't you tell us what

this one is uh this is uh Sonic Curry and uh it's it's from I like Sonic it's officially licensed Sonic the Hedgehog Curry and uh it's a collaboration between Sega as they say here Sega as we used to say in Australia and geek life which I guess is some kind of company uh in Japan and uh it's a [ __ ] weird curer that's in the shape of Sonic's face uh and it's very blue uh in the areas where Sonic is blue and apparently it will make you poop blue for uh I'm not surprised for a few days because this is incredibly blue yes so you want me to poop blue well I don't want you to poop blue specifically I I mean I'm not you pooping blue but I want you to eat the curry and it's going to have to

that's just a side effect so I guess it'll also make your teeth and tongue blue apparently and and a lot more proba most of your insides yeah yeah all right I will see if I can get it very good okay let me see if you can order it uh soic Curry aalia well there there is uh a website called sonich healthcare.com a that might uh you might need that after you eat yeah so I'm going to bookmark that right now yeah so this is officially licensed so um so we can we can assume it's high quality I wish Sonic would actually be good again we actually uh listeners uh I I posted an article the other day on the Facebook about um how Jim car's potentially been cast as Dr Robotnik or

or Eggman uh it's Eggman yeah Dr Robotnik is such a better name yeah but Jim K has apparently been cast as that character in in a Sonic the Hedgehog movie which I thought was [ __ ] hilarious and I'm I'm totally on board with that cuz yeah weird uh and then uh Tim commented on there I think and said uh there's a Sonic Utopia which is like a fan-made Sonic the Hedgehog game that looks really awesome I hadn't heard of it I looked up a YouTube video of it and uh and it looks really cool so hopefully that's still in development uh cuz yeah you're right Sonic's not been good for a while the DS game was good Sonic Rush that's good there's one where he's a werewolf you

designer who works with us on a freelance basis and when she comes in she brings this little cup of noodles which is not uncommon here a lot of people have cup noodles for lunch but this one you don't add any hot water too you don't add anything at all what you do is you snap this little bag that's inside it and then a chemical reaction Cooks the noodles for you I've seen this happen right in front of my eyes it steams it gets cooked and it frees me the [ __ ] out sounds terrible but I'm all for it okay I'll uh I'll send you some you can get that canned coffee that does that when you pop the top it somehow Heats it and I'm just like what the [ __ ] is in there yeah I'd want some like

peer-reviewed papers that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt this doesn't give you cancer before I even went near this then again I'm in America so [ __ ] knows what's in food I'm eating anyway so uh just is it corn syrup oh there's plenty of that fructose corn syrup yeah yeah lots of that lots of that hey it was uh the 4th of July here this week and uh I was too it actually it was the Fourth of July everywhere yeah yeah true it just wasn't holiday there yeah we we have the holiday Fourth of July that's the only time you actually pronounce the date right I know that's true it's July 4th but I also love it that you just just like should we give this day a name no [ __ ] it just say the date it's Independence Day yeah says happy fourth that's what

people say but uh so you could do that every month I guess yeah I can say that 12 times a year but uh fireworks are uh available uh everywhere around that that time uh there are po they usually a controlled item but then not around rhod Island uh everything is you know state by state here it's quite quite comical in some cases um fireworks in Rhode Island are controlled there are certain ones you can and can't have uh New Hampshire uh Live Free or Die has everything so you can just drive yeah you just kind of go for a bit of a drive and get some if you want but uh and then obviously it's illegal to bring them back and apparently the police will confiscate them and use them at their house uh if they catch you if they find them y and

you have to go and watch them have fun with your fireworks they'll take your fireworks and impress their children with them so but I bought some I just bought some from uh from the grocery store Supermarket here uh because they they have them around this time of year and do you still have all your fingers I do I do actually I still have another packet of them you're not doing it right then but I was I I got I brought them home and I was like look cuz we have people around for game night uh coincidentally the night before July 4th July 3rd we celebrate July 3rd at this house just just CU so we have people around little bit of rested development there Matt and I had uh I had oh yeah Cino no the quatro the other one that's the one yeah so I got the fireworks we

set them off and I thought cuz they were Supermarket bought ones that they would not impress me however compared to the no fireworks that we have in Australia I was impressed even if no one else was but guess we'd be allowed to you know one of those little sparklers that you light and wave around in the air well here's the thing I I bought two packs of things originally I've got I've bought another pack since then uh two one one pack contained two of those ones you put on the ground and it shoots Flames up in the air like a tree right and I thought that was [ __ ] that was pretty [ __ ] cool and everyone else was like oh yeah it's pretty good I guess didn't blow anything up though I'm like oh all right fine and then the other packet I got out it was two two little boxes like

sparkler boxes and everyone want oh they're just sparklers and I was like oh really we have those no we don't not in Australia these ones sparklers here shoot [ __ ] stuff out of them like when you light it it it's more like a flare like a little tiny flare you know that red flare light in the movies yeah yeah yeah it does that and then it shoots f [ __ ] little little things out of it at the sides so even the the nice safe sparkler is trying to kill yeah you [ __ ] don't keep it away from your eyeballs absolutely and so yeah they were like ah sparklers and I was like [ __ ] sparklers so yeah wow so I'm easily impressed I guess so yeah I mean you you must have got that pyromaniacs rush you know where

you're just standing there looking at the yeah I just and I'm like you know what I don't want to see the good ones I'm happy I'm just stay here with if we see you standing on the edge of a bushire with a massive erection we're going to know we're going to know who if these excite you why go out and spend more money on better ones exactly so I just went back to the supermarket and bought more me again that's right I cuz you need ID to buy them because you got to be 16 and Matt Matt no one looks at you and thinks the guy came over and goes are you 16 and I was like I promise and he's like all right did he wink no he just laughing went all right off you go you little scar so uh you know when you guys come visit we'll get some fireworks some cheap some cheap

shitty unimpressive American Fireworks and they'll blow your [Laughter] mind um I have some more followup news oh [ __ ] all right wow I know it's crazy um I'm not going to order the Sonic Curry oh follow following up to just now to tell us that you're not going to follow something up well no I just found out how much money it would cost to get it sent how much $80 [ __ ] all right and yeah I I've gotten in trouble cuz I've spent far too much on buying stupid stuff to review on the podcast so I have to leave it for a little while I don't know what you're talking about kamora well I've got a butt plug over there as well stupid stuff I don't know what you're talking about you said stupid stuff it's only stupid because you haven't given it a

chance right it's not happening no how old does a pocket [ __ ] have to be for you to be interested in it Luke I think that's one of those ones where actually the newer the better yes yeah yeah 30-year-old Pocket [ __ ] no thanks I only [ __ ] sex toys up to 34 years old at least 25 up to [Laughter] 34 So speaking of America I have a brief anecdote uh the other day because people sometimes ask me if this happens and it hasn't happened in a long time the other day I was on my way home and I took uh to get to work from here cuz we're kind of out in we're a little bit in the in

the woods whoop whoop kind of yeah and but there there's there's a Highway 95 runs all the way from from uh Maine down to Florida uh and I can hop on that and get to work pretty quickly uh it's not far not too far from my house and uh and then that's the that's the quick way to go but it's a bit [ __ ] cuz it's a Highway uh it's just not very interesting or I can go the back way which is at this time of year beautiful and and there's like situate Reservoir which I can reservoir am I pronouncing that right I'm questioning myself situate Reservoir which can I can pass and it's beautiful it's all very pretty so I go that way sometimes the other day I'm coming back and I use ways which is like a do you have ways in your countries we don't have it here but I

other countries I visit have it so it took me a slightly different way because uh because of traffic and uh and I almost missed a turn so I uh I stopped and it was kind of almost like a roundabout but not really like a triangle of of road so that I could I could stop past the turn kind of turn around and come come out from the other way and go the way I was supposed to go except it threw me off so much that I literally couldn't remember which side of the road I was supposed to drive on for for like a couple of minutes I was driving along oh and then and and cuz I'm in the middle of nowhere L can happen on the wrong side of the road in a couple of minutes and cuz there's no

lines on the road cuz it's it's like a country road and I and so I was just driving along being like like hopefully someone will come up from from behind me and not from in front of me so I can figure this out and then eventually I did sort it out but there was actually a period where I act I I couldn't remember and even when I was like no no I'm on the left side of the car I need to be on the right side of the road I was like No No Maybe not maybe you just think that who's to say yeah how tired were you I don't know I don't know what it was I just I just got really confused and questioned myself and then and then that's actually the first time that's happened in is anybody who's asked me about that there you go does still happen apparently yes it

does wow but uh yeah that's a I survived obviously freaky the right side of the road here I'm supposed to be on the right side the wrong it's actually hard for me to imagine driving in Australia now like I when I think about it it's like weird I used to drive on the other side that's weird the correct side yeah I still remember that time when we were driving down some Road in the middle of nowhere and you needed to poop and you finally saw I think some donut shop a dunin Donuts you just Dunkin Donuts and then you just swerve across six Lanes of traffic Luke that place is 5 minutes from my house shout out to Dunkin Donuts that that that Dunkin

Donuts it's just St the road from my house mate we can go back there anytime that's not a joke we were near U Mercy Brown Next there we going um Mercy Brown for those who don't know was a suspected vampire here in New England and they uh they dug her up um kind of mushed up her heart burnt it on a rock fed it to her brother uh who who then died proving that yes she was a vampire a little New England Legend and then they made a um made a sitcom out of her in the '90s did they no that's Murphy Brown oh right also a vampire clearly that's uh that's not far from here Luke I'll take you back there sometime we'll cut across six Lanes of traffic without looking not without looking I have my eyes open come on mate you got to go mate you got to go but you forgot where saw the Dunkin Donuts didn't

I yeah I that that was yeah that was scary you're still here give me that that was scary it wasn't scary for me it was what was scary was the thought of not being able to poop that is a scary thought well you could have pooped Yeah well yeah really awkward ride remember last week where we talked about fruit for 5 minutes you remember the disaster that was five minutes about fruit I could have pooped in a car that is now my car at the time was Jenna's car but her sister was using it like what a disaster that would have been so geek it a week are you approving this I don't know yet what do you mean you don't know no this one I'm going to approve straight off this one is a geek Y and he didn't commit suicide which

makes him automatically off your list yeah no not automatically he was 90 years old which I know taken in his prime pretty good R I wish I would make that long maybe you will but yeah we are talking about Steve dicko it's dicko isn't it that's how you pronounce it it is dico Y and Steve dicko is one of the only comic book kind of famous comic book authors whose real name is their name and not changed from something way more Jewish sounding and we actually talked about him we mentioned him briefly the other week uh yeah and in fact we talked about him because it was suspected that he was the one that went around Stanley's house with a gun demanding his money that's right and not only that you you I mean obviously we we we don't know for sure but uh we just we can't if anyone's if

anyone's looked into whether Stanley was involved in Jack koby's death that's all I'm saying and now that's right and now Steve dico turns up dead a week later yeah coincidence probably probably probably coin prove it yeah like they're all quite old yeah yeah but that's just what they want you to think they want you to go oh they're quite old let's not investigate yeah so you think we should question Stan Lee over these deaths I think almost certainly people have been questioning questioning him about Steve ditco and I'm not saying why or what it was about but I'm just I'm just pretty sure that that they've talked to him about it so yeah anytime anytime Stan Lee writes by Stan Lee on the bottom of something yeah the creator of Spider-Man

oh uh so yeah Steve did uh creator co-creator of Doctor Strange Spider-Man uh and a bunch of lesser characters uh uh Mysterio amongst them who's a Spider-Man character that's he's pretty cool but very famous and uh and and creator of some of the really really fantastic uh Doctor Strange artwork that I like from the old Comics like you even if you're not a comic book fan you definitely know his art yeah yeah like he drew Damu and and some of the weird [ __ ] that was in Doctor Strange back in the back in the day took a lot of drugs I assume looking at this or uh or just was real good at at figuring out what that might be like rip

Steve ditco you were tops I don't know what he did lately uh not I'm not judging him you know nothing wrong nothing wrong with you hoped he kind of died you know back in the late 70s so he went out on on a high a Ian there's nothing wrong with quit and while you're ahead I guess but yeah just would he been around to still be getting money uh yes but I I don't know how it quite works but he has only recently been officially credited as the co-creator of Spider-Man for example um and Doctor Strange as well probably but

I have a feeling that the latest round of films featuring both those characters would definitely have kicked back to him they they certainly gave him a nod okay yeah I hope so because I know that like Marvel had issues with money a little while ago so I'm just wondering if he sort of got swept away and sort of not getting any of his fresh money that's coming in you're wondering if he has you're wondering if he has daughters or granddaughters and what they what they ranges are what the age ranges yeah yeah yeah valid from the legal line well you're in all right of course that you know that changes depending on what country you're in you know right so if they're in the United States it's 16 but honestly take them to the

Philippines if I was to even if there was an 18yearold now I don't think I could even go out with an 18 no I don't think an 8-year-old would go out with you no I agree 18 sorry the call must have cut out briefly yeah I don't know I've just yeah just I think back to how I was at that age and I think of myself now why am I thinking about dating myself I was going to say so what you're saying is that you wouldn't go back in time and [ __ ] yourself at age 18 that's exactly what I'm saying yeah he did say date I don't usually say this yeah but I agree with Luke on this I probably wouldn't date myself at age 18 either feel sorry for any women that did well no yeah no one else dated me back then so why would I date myself yeah

yeah you think they were on to something yeah all right well Steve dicko geek of the [Music] week dat Steve ditco as a teenager had to tell speaking of which if you go to uh Wikipedia right and you type in Steve dico no not Wikipedia Wikipedia right the picture of Steve dico now look I understand that he's not you know in his prime anymore you know he's a man of he's dead he's dead there okay sure but they didn't invent the Wikipedia page after his death what I'm saying is I can understand why they

would have an old photo rather than a current photo right yeah but you think they might have been something a bit new the picture is his high school yearbook photo right but in saying this I don't know he does look about 28 in this High School yearo does anyone agree with me I think people used to look older younger in the past sure that was a doozy of a sentence but no no I I I can believe that because like Wells was 23 when he made Citizen Kane and he plays Kane as an elderly man the thing is we um we still dress like teenagers so I wonder if that's a factor whereas back in the day like they he's got a shirt he's got a shirt and tie on there in that photoo has uh I I definitely did not wear a shirt and tie

if I am or not I'm literally just playing it obsessively like I just see something that needs to be upgrading I see what I need to get to upgrade and then I just go out and [ __ ] get stuff it's just a cycle it's just a cycle that will never end but yeah that's what those types of games are once you get past a certain point that's all it is yeah um I'm l 50 while you're enjoying while you're enjoying it it's great but if you stop enjoying it then there's no point well that's the problem I had with it was every time there was uh you know I get kicked off the server or I would try to going to the be update I'd start thinking about what you're talking about like about that aspect of it and be like I think I might want to play something else because well

I definitely want to play something else now something else has to come along for me to jump ship well I've been playing a game uh this is on the switch but it is available on other platforms and it is wonderful it is hollow night which is a game I assume that's the long awaited sequel to Gabriel Knight blood of the Sacred blood of the Damned [ __ ] man you're breaking my heart cuz I really would like a sequel to that um those three games man [ __ ] uh Hollow Knight is a game that I backed on Kickstarter uh many years ago uh it's made by team Cherry which is actually a a South australian-based uh game development team and we've we've bumped into them a couple of packes all virgins and allegedly surprise no one they uh they made this game Hollow night it's a

Metroid Vania Style game it's kind of like Gothic uh but but a little cartoony uh and it's [ __ ] sick I I I didn't play it on on PC cuz I don't have a PC and I wanted to play with the controller so I've been waiting for the switch version uh and it's just so good it's uh it's like uh you know Metro Vania you explore the world and you get upgrades which let you explore new areas uh and then you collect like it's a sid scroller isn't it yeah like a yes yeah it's a sidescroller where you explore different haveing I bought this on Steam and haven't played it you should play it it's really good do you have a controller you can use on your laptop or something no I don't if you can pick a controller up pretty cheaply these days if you want

one I recommend the steel series nimbus that's what I have for uh oh sounds like a sex toy should we play the jingle again sure do you [Music] do the steel series nimus um it works on uh on like your iPad your iPhone and and a Mac well I think it works on it0 bucks does that sound about right uh yeah yeah mhm it seems it might seem expensive my Xbox controllers it's very good and it charges off a uh uh lightning connector like you know your phone oh interesting and uh and it's like it's high quality it's it's like an Xbox controller basically it's it's a

high quality controller it's a good unit um yeah Hollow night it's really good uh check it out if you if you can I've been pimping it a bit on the Facebook not because like like we don't know them have anything to do with them we've met him a couple times but like at events but we don't we're not you know this is not a paid not in any way I just really [ __ ] dig this game so and that's why I've been pimping it so much and and they've it's such a a success story because they're Little Indie Studio they did a Kickstarter and it did pretty well and now they've sold I think over a million copies on switch since it came out and I'm just really wow I'm really happy for him and it's a great game so check it out help him get to two million I'm trying

to see if I've got a key for it I think I do I think it might have been in a Humble Bundle at some point it's it's been around like it said it came out on PC a while ago and they've been porting it to uh to switch and theyve cuz they they showed it up think it's been a bit yeah I I have a lot of Humble Bundle keys that I've yet to used yet and I played something else that uh I think you might like this game Dan if you haven't played already and I this is another one that I backed on Kickstarter which is and I don't know why I never played it um it's Broken Age oh man this is another one that I bought on Steam and have not played it's [ __ ] excellent man yeah it's really good it's it's great the story the story is like [ __ ] really creative and

interesting I think and uh and different and it's it's an advent it's still an adventure game like uh kind of like you know the monkey style point and click adventure game it's really good I've been playing through it on my iPad uh which I guess just happened to be the right platform to get me to [ __ ] play it finally even though I own it on PC already I don't even have an iPad anymore I mean I do but I haven't turned it on in a long long time I like my iPad I like it I don't know I don't know if I like it enough to justify upgrading it at some point but I I try to use it but does it do anything that it doesn't you need it to like there a reason to upgrade it yeah I mean I if I if I don't get a new laptop which I might not if I

get an iMac then yeah it'll be my you know my portable computer oh man have you seen the new iMac the new one beautiful it's black oh the pro yeah it's $7,000 yeah five five five grand us it's got It's it's got [ __ ] server grade components in it it's like it's amazing yeah they're [ __ ] hardcore yeah it's insane I don't don't need one of those probably probably no I don't need one either but [ __ ] I want one I know I'll probably just buy a normal IM all I've been I've been playing the crew to I the game I was talking about last enjoying no no no I finished it you just didn't enjoy it just didn't enjoy it yeah that's normal but I brought a new game today that I've been playing that um I've seen you've been playing Ma

Jong oh yes I playing that that's just easy achievements how can it be easy for you to play Mar Jong you don't speak Chinese you don't it's matching tiles it's like he's not wrong snap the pictures matchy click them easy no what I have think you think Bandicoot oh [ __ ] crash bamby oh my God that game is so hard the re-release of The Originals that that Trilogy thing oh wow the insane Trilogy it's it's not that it's super hard it's I'm not patient as I used to be yeah those games require a lot of time yeah yeah do they look they look nicer than they used to cuz I mean these games are 20 years old great they don't hold your hand the way games do these days like no

it's like fa it looks great yeah over and over again yeah until you learn so you just have to no I've worked out the best way to do it you sort of play for a little bit and then once you start losing lives like over and over and over you just put it down and walk away for a little bit come back refreshed and just start again exercise the kind of restraint you wouldn't have had as a child when you played it yeah that's right I can't go to school mom because I haven't [ __ ] finished this level that's right and I have to return it to the video store soon prove I can't go to the toilet because I am finishing this [Laughter]

game well clean it up then Mom I watched a movie this week too which I actually don't get the chance to do that often but I watched uh a movie and it was pretty good and I was wondering if if you had seen this I bet Luke hasn't uh but I was wondering if Dan had seen this it's called a dark song No I hav hav't seen it actually but it's a horror film right yeah sort of it's it is uh it's about a woman who wants to contact her the spirit of her dead son and so she kind of hires this guy to perform this ritual uh and it's this kind of you know dark like it's played Super straight

like it's this kind of judeo Christian [ __ ] cabal [ __ ] ritual thing that they go through and it's kind of this harrowing film about them locking themselves in a mansion for potentially months and months to to perform this ritual and uh interesting it's pretty good I liked it because it's it's played pretty straight it's like [ __ ] I don't really know if anything even happened you know what I mean no like from a supernatural point of view it's like it could have gone either way I guess like it's worth watching I think I think you might like it so did they bring lots of food with them yep she rents a mansion in the middle of nowhere in Wales to to do it and then she convinces this guy to do

apparently she she tried a bunch of people and they they all said no and then eventually she found this guy who said that he knew how to do it and then that they would do it and uh and they lock themselves in and go through this [ __ ] traumatic experience it's pretty cool it's very slow SL not going to see it no luk you won't like it Matt did you ever see I'm the pretty thing that lives in the house I I don't think I watched it I've seen it recommended a bunch of times is it good if you like slow bur horror this is definitely one you should check out all right it's popped up on lists and I think Netflix has been like hey you might like this and I was like shut up Netflix yeah you might don't [ __ ] pretend to know what I

like someone added a bunch we have a shared Netflix account with the with the the the Jalen family and someone added a bunch of not I say weird [ __ ] it's weird for Jenna and I a bunch of weird movies to our watch list like Mama Mia and uh just just a bunch of just [ __ ] we're like what the [ __ ] so now all our recommendations are a bit weird yeah [ __ ] bastards I it could have been uh it could have been Jenna's mom so I apologize Jenny if it was and she's a listener is she and were no absolutely not the rest of the family is and I don't want to be disparaging them on air well I don't mind doing it Jenny what do you got to say for yourself she probably just apologize profus well as well she should I watched a movie this week it's not like a cool movie or a new movie by

any means but [ __ ] it was a good movie have you guys ever seen Zulu from the 60s with Michael Kane in his first role don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes don't think anyone actually says that um but yes it's that movie and it's the kind of movie that I think like if you've seen it you probably watched it with your dad yep like when you were a kid [ __ ] obsessed with it and I I I think I have seen that yeah I don't think I have seen it actually I think it's one of the it's one of those movies that he wanted me to watch all the time and I was like how many spaceships are in it yeah no no no but honestly it's an exercise intention because the the the plot is the true story of a 100 British soldiers who are um who are hemped up in a in a hospital Mission in South Africa

in B territory and the Zulus 4,000 of them are surrounding them and closing in and it's just about I mean you know you can argue why were they [ __ ] there in the first place okay don't ride in and [ __ ] get on my case about colonialism oh man there's there's one there's this boar character who is like you know the BS of the um the kind of uh the Dutch settlers in that area and um at one point Michael Kane turns to him and and says I can't remember what the what the lead in line but he the accent though he goes after all this is your country like to this [ __ ] Dutch guy while they're being attacked by Black by the people who actually live there yes correct so but uh look so you you got to you got to kind of take you got to take the politics with the grand assault but sure

[ __ ] me they used to make movies differently like there's no coverage like what when we make movies now we do what we call coverage which is like if you get a shot of somebody over one guy's shoulder then you have to get a shot of that other guy over that same guy's shoulder so that it all matches right it's just called coverage they don't do that in this like they'll have the camera will zoom in to one guy and then he'll walk and the character will follow him over to another guy and then they'll talk and then it'll go back to a twoot while they're talking and then one guy will wander off and say something profound and the camera will move with him so that it's a single and it's just like it's just so the craft of film making is just so apparent in these old

movies anyway going on and off but Zulu watch it all right I will I watched an old movie today as well what you watch nothing but trouble what is it I don't know that off the top of my head it's from dead acoy Chevy Chase Dem Mo J candy okay well speaking of The Craft of [Laughter] filmm it's a terrible movie but I this the one I think I used to see the VHS cover of this like in the video store does Dan arroy like play an old man in Old Man makeup yes he makes an yeah he plays an old crazy judge I I do remember that yeah I recommend it it's not a good movie I recommend it no I I do enjoy some not good movies it's a good Sunday Afternoon movie that

I like those old kind of movies those oh it's a comedy I assume yes based on imagine it wasn't imagine Dan Acro Chevy Chase and uh who else was it Dan won an Academy Award John Candy decided [ __ ] it we're going Oscar baiting that's right that would be great well accept that's not feasible at the moment one thing R John Candy one thing I did find one thing I did find quite weird is Ste more I don't think she's that good an actress okay I I don't see what the world thought of her don't see what Bruce Willis saw in her to be honest I know he saw in Saw as coocher himself what was that hence the divorce when I was young though there was one movie where where she was just like stupidly

sexy what movie was that was that strip was it that yeah that's right and you know I've never to this day I've never actually seen it but just like as as kids in the 80s and early 90s we just knew that demy Moore was like that actress doesn't mind getting a tits out the only movie I can think of that I've seen that she's in es well at least starring in is G if you don't say seventh sign then you need to stop go and watch that right now now GI Jane by Ridley Scott [ __ ] I haven't seen that I saw it at the movies wow don't remember it I remember she was in it I remember she was doing push-ups that's all I remember yeah she was what more do you need there watch a movie that she was in in the 80s called the seventh sign which is about uh it's

it's like a how would you call it like an apocalyptic kind of horror movie where she plays this pregnant woman who's about to give birth and anyway it's the devil it was pretty cool back in the day the devil usually the devil devil yeah yeah was the name Rosemary uh it wasn't but uh [ __ ] that's a good movie oh I'm not allowed to say it's a good movie you can't like that movie anymore oh you like Rosemary's Baby so you would [ __ ] a teenager in the ass would you people are crazy Roman paly talking about that's what I me Luke's like what he's like itent if it was in a region where the law allowed it Rose M baby is directed by Roman palansky yeah it is it's a good movie though don't let that put you off

oh am I supposed to let that put me off I don't know cuz I I would argue that you can like a movie and not like somebody who helped make that movie well he didn't really help make it he literally directed did it yeah he directed it but like like if the cinematographer had raped a little girl like he shot every frame of it should we was cinematographer Vision you know what I mean I like the director over everybody I think you okay so the best argument if it was the director I guess is what I'm saying sure sure yeah yeah I guess so but I mean he didn't make a movie about sodomizing that girl no I know I mean if he did and you loved that movie then maybe that would be not okay yeah I guess I'm not L like Jeepers Creepers

either you're definitely not allowed to like Jeep's creepers well that works out then because that guy also uh got in trouble that they got in trouble for making that movie because they filmed it near a school that's that's true story oh well allegedly allegedly allegedly I believe it's a true story um so I don't know if we need to play the [ __ ] crimes jingle here but Luke has already come out and said how you avoid going to prison for statutory rape wait until they're of legal age easy problem solved um I'm interested in hearing about the octopus just because hey can I be before we go into that because I do want to

talk about this octopus when I was a kid my favorite movie was The Goonies right and it's still a [ __ ] great movie and this was before I knew about deleted scenes and film editing and all of that but there's a bit at the end where they're free they're finally free and they're talking to the cop the sheriff of this town and they're all talking over each other about all the stuff they saw there was a pirate and it's one Wily and the fratellis and then one of them said and there was an octopus and I watched that movie over and over again with the sole purpose of spotting that [ __ ] octopus sure cuz I'm like why would they mention it if it wasn't there um but there's no octopus in that movie and I've since learned there was a scene

with an octopus but it was cut out damn cuz it may looked stupid probably did look stupid was it a giant but then again this is the movie where it's like it's almost a perfect movie but there's a character in it the character of mouth played by uh Cory Feldman who MH at the start speaks such fluent Spanish that him and the housekeeper convert about sex dungeons right cockroaches and all sorts of weird stuff but at the end when she's yelling don't sign he can't figure out what she's saying right away yeah so there that but today there really is an O octopus news yeah so I guess play that jingle SE of the week

so um I I guess also in addition to octopus news this is probably also our official World Cup 2018 episode right yeah I guess so I guess the World Cup only coverage we've given it yeah that's right well I haven't seen any of the of the games have you I've actually seen a few of the games I saw I don't know anything about the World Cup midnight you know Joel kinman yeah the actor yeah he posted uh this it's a from a from a newspaper from the look of it and it made me laugh like I don't know anything about the World Cup but I just think this is a good joke yeah the England football team visited an orphanage in Russia yesterday it's heartbreaking to see their little faces with no hope said Vladimir age

6 don't know anything about World Cup but I think that's a good joke yeah yeah that's great um yeah but there is a uh there is a octopus in Japan who uh is psychic and can predict um the outcome of Japan's matches in the World Cup yeah it was he was uh he was caught by a fisherman who then um made some kind of elaborate device uh inside a tank and the octopus would uh would select a win or lose and select the score um by placing its tentacles against certain numbers the way it's worded in the article fisherman Kimo Abbe caught the octopus last month off Hokkaido and assigned it to match forecasting duties yeah that's right there's many duties you can assign an octopus too and that's your job is to predict the future go your job is to take the lids

off these jars no but the thing is your job is to put ink in my pens the uh the octopus predicted all the games um with startling accuracy however Japan is now out and so of course um what do you need him for anymore so um they cooked him up and ate him um but couldn't they use him to like predict the rest of it doesn't like that you know you know nothing about football did he get something wrong and that's why are out of the cup yeah he so he even P right and they still killed him and ate him what I think yeah that's terrible I think it's probably a coincidence just quietly around for another four years and do it

again did you ever see that old episode of The Twilight Zone where that guy could predict Lotto wedings no oh it's amazing this guy is just an office Clerk and he gets this letter one day saying hey look you don't know me but I'm psychic and I can predict the lotto um so go and put this just like if you don't believe me put $1 on it and I'm going to tell you the results and so he does and it's correct and so the next week he gets another letter saying um I'm going to give you put $100 on it this time and I'm going to give you the results of this week's then that'll be two weeks in a row I've proved to you that I can pick the results after that we'll talk so he does it he picks a $100 on it it wins again so now the guy's like okay now we're

going to go 50/50 so I'm going to keep giving you numbers and every time you win you send me half of the winnings each time and so this guy just keeps doing it and doing it and doing it keeps winning more and more and more and sending this guy more and more money and you basically find out that this guy is sending out thousands and thousands of letters yeah because all it takes is for one string of coincidental good luck for this to pay off it's pretty clever yeah I still I mean in real life I don't like his odds anyway but that is pretty good yeah yeah so um octopus in Japan you're our GE of the week rest in peace you were delicious I it says Peter was not amused like like or they'd be amused if he hadn't predicted the results but

not in this case yeah that's right like yeah Peter's Peter's not amused about anything though that's true fing dead pan Peter always yeah what what am I going to do to crack a smile on you eh hey yeah not impressed do we want to do some Star Wars news before we go because uh we've got a little bit I don't know if there's like tons and tons to discuss but we should probably get it out there for the listeners yeah look um there is some Star Wars news this week as there almost inevitably is stss Star Wars news Stars [Music] news uh where do we want to start with some episode 9 casting rumors yeah yeah well I I don't even know if this is a rumor I think this might be actually be confirmed but uh but they I think a rumor is something you don't know if

it's a rumor or it's confirmed I think that's what a rumor is no I think I mean okay so it's a rumor for us but I think this is actually I think this is confirmed you know technically speaking um uh [ __ ] what's her real name Felicity um yeah Carrie Russell car Russell has been cast in episode 9 which I guess is not really a surprise because JJ's directing it and he likes her so he does like her yeah and the studio does like middle-aged women so don't don't to well now I hope she goes back to uh to that haircut that um made the network cancel Felicity which one was that she she cut her hair super short and American audiences just don't like watching women with the short hair on TV

and so the ratings dropped out of it really know that yeah oh cuz she had very long curly hair right yeah cuz I do remember that show being on I never watched it but I do remember it did several TV because the lead act cut her hair and the ratings dropped that's [ __ ] bizarre all right yeah well yeah so that's that's a thing don't know anything else about episode 9 uh but she's in it fine um just make it a good movie and JJ hasn't made a bad movie so it should be all right it should be at least just all right except he did make Star Trek Into Darkness I'll have to correct you on that yeah but that was that was just all right wasn't bad it was just all right yeah that wasn't bad

I did I guess I was angrier at it than I maybe would have been just because I had too much invested I actually I was thinking of raising money to uh to remake it uh I'll I've got some ideas and I think maybe I'll I'll remake Star Trek Into Darkness you look just go out and Kickstarter and get some people to chip in with you and I'm sure you you Kickstarter that the studio will just give you the rights to the character and force the cast members to make it yeah yeah good point and well not all the cast members just really I just want the men uh to be in it and then um and we'll recast the women to I don't know just some some some pretty girls in the background someone's got to make the coffee EXA yeah um Mark Hamill this week

has come out and I assume he didn't mean it this way way but this is how I'm going Tok tells the truth and ends up having to apologize he basically was saying that the difference between the old Star Wars movies and the new ones is that George this is a quote remember George has had an overall Arc if he didn't have all the details he had an overall feel for where everything was going but this one's more like a relay race you just run and hand the torch off to the next guy he picks it up and goes Ryan didn't write what happens in nine he was going to hand it off to originally Colin trevo and now JJ so they got they don't know what's going on well he's not wrong he's not wrong but also no no George didn't even know that Luke and Leia were going to be brother and

sister f Return of the Jedi like yeah George may have had like this good idea but no one's actually seen this idea he just tells everyone he's got a this idea it's going to Branch over Fe movies and trilogies and then we saw what happened with the prequels I call [ __ ] really you had that planned out did you and when he has to go back and just keep you always planned for [ __ ] Yoda and Chewbacca to be friends did you [ __ ] yeah so yep yeah I believe they don't know all the details but I believe they had an they had the overarching story play and I think I don't think Mark hell meant to dunk on the new ones he's just kind of

said that that and that's how I'm looking at it no but I mean he look Mark Hamill is a nice guy everyone knows it right and he he doesn't want to say things that upset people but he is so vocal about liking the old Star Wars movies better than the new ones you sure well in in his defense the old movies to give him a lot more work how much gu made more money off of this one than he did off any of the others yeah speaking of which yeah SOLO has finally sort of come in as not the lowest grossing Star Wars film of all time what is the lowest grossing well technically it's now made more money than Return of the Jedi did back in the 80s not adjusted for inflation right okay so from a pure

dollar amount it made more money in 2018 money then no no sorry it's The Empire Strikes Back is it yes okay wow it still sits behind return okay so Empire Strikes Back is the lowest grossing Star Wars film which is crazy yeah it's weird cuz it's the best one IMHO not the best one but it's definitely up there it's the best one no my my favorite still Star Wars Caravan courage yep well that's good I me solo was pretty Good Guys man I'm [ __ ] I'm all over solo I'm all over it since I let go of yeah my feelings about it about Che universe that I know and love chewy did eat people I don't think he did and I also got over the fact of hyperfuel I'll stop you there Che won't

even eat porgs okay so he certainly wasn't eating no he just murdered and cooked them he didn't eat them so it's fine yeah once you've done that you may as well just take a bite um speaking of The Last Jedi and the Remake and all that [ __ ] maybe these guys will be up for a Star Wars fan award which is a new thing they've announced Lucas film's going to be giving out awards for different categories of uh of obsessiveness I guess oh no they've been doing that for years no but I think this is uh this is like a new thing like the okay cuz I know they used to give out um awards for fan films yeah now there's like a whole bunch of different categories theyve always been great about fan films I mean they could come down hard on that but I mean they

uh assets yeah yeah but you know what have you heard about what Disney's done in the past did you ever hear about that kindergarten no you know how kindergartens paint childhood characters on the sides of their walls right yeah so there was a kindergarten somewhere I forget where and the staff had painted a whole bunch of Disney characters on the walls um and Disney's lawyers sued them gave them a a cease and assist letter take it down what the um the artists at uh Warner Brothers Studio heard about it and sent the actual artists out to this preschool to paint the Looney Tunes characters on over the Disney characters cuz look I could understand if they were

using the the pictures to try and advertise the kindergarten but if they're just painted on the wall but only kids are going to see who cares well it's the outside walls you know when you drive past a kindergarten you can always tell it's a kindergarten cuz there's like kitty [ __ ] painted on the walls I can sort of see where they're coming from no of course we can all see where they're coming from but still it's just funny that the way they treat it to to how other people would treat it well if you want to make uh go to Star Wars fana awards.com uh check out the categories if you think you can pull some of these off uh enter why not look here's the thing I'd love to make a Star Wars fan film but I just don't know that I'd ever have the time or the resources
