[Music] welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy so last week I complained that there are too many games coming out you did and this today I heard another rumor that there's more games coming out and this time it's the Mass Effect remaster oh so the original trilogy remastered are they going to make the first game less awful I tried to replay that [ __ ] me that is that's a tough game to replay I like the first game best yeah you like driving that little car around I love that I think maybe it's just how clunky it is compared to the later ones and

then I never get past you know when you finally get to uh the Citadel I can never get through it just cuz it's just like H it's fny like the the first one is favorite like story-wise or gameplay even gameplay yeah right cuz it was more RPG yeah went on they became a little bit more shoter and cuz yeah so but yeah so now those three games coming out they're not like short games no there there's like 100 plus hours in those games and I already don't have enough time so they need to start moving stuff to next year not cyber Punk not for you don't do this to me I still have I still have a feeling cyber Punk's got the next year you know what Happ feeling Luke says something and yeah I know we've got some followup this week just because Luke asked a question last week

and Hollywood was like oh yeah good point we'll get on that I don't know we talk about it just yet but yeah we do have some followup on that so so is that confirmed Mass Effect 1 2 and 3 remasters it's not it's just a rumor but it's been a rumor that's been going around for a while now all right but starting to get a bit closer with like a date and things so I love Mass effects but I don't know if I want to go back and replay them I don't think I do sometimes I get tempted to try andrometer again and then I talk myself out that yeah don't do that I you can skip Andromeda I bought Andromeda on PC so that I could try it with some mods cuz I was like oh maybe the mods will make it more fun not really yeah you want the tits out mod don't

you you don't know what would make this better the thing that always confused and Dr they said like it's going to be a different game and you're going to be building this space and the game will change but then you go to a planet you do stuff and then there's just a settlement there and then it never changes like it's I was expecting it was going to build up and the things you do would actually make a difference but there was nothing I think they just bit off more than they could chew mhm promise yeah also they got forced to use Frostbite the engine instead of what they wanted what they knew and were good with yeah so anyway the the first three were very good I would I would I've replayed two a lot actually two Mass Effect 2 might be the game I've replayed

the most oh that's interesting out of games yeah I really like that game I just get it two goes two solid goes back to back I played all three of them twice wow cuz I had my good character and then my evil character oh and now you get th well you have to do them four times four times but the thing is I still went with the same ending at the end but you know how we can just pick good bad or the middle yeah I went the middle yeah so bet nothing in the second one when you when you play Bad you can um you attract that tattooed girl yeah Jack so that's oh that's Jack you can't I think if you play if you play good you she's not interested in you no I remember there was was it the Krogan I remember brutally murdering one of them Rex in the first one Rex oh yeah I I I

destroyed him yeah yeah if in two I think if you even remotely flirt with Miranda then Jack is like [ __ ] off mate yeah you're into that you're not into this I can promise you that Miranda didn't like my character oh yeah Miranda was not even in both play oh oh okay all right no matter what Luke did Von strovi was not interested my name's not Miranda it's a character luk get off my porch I forgot you were always a fem Avatar I I've always have been it always will be it's because you're a little bit transgender just just a little bit only in video games

yeah just virtually transgendered yeah each did her own MH absolutely absolutely well yeah I've replayed this I'm replaying BioShock Infinite and I'm really enjoying it taking my time uh having a lot of fun with it and I'm sad that I didn't give it the opportunity did you finish it no I haven't finished it yet did you finish it the first the first time yeah I was wondering if you finish it the first time yeah yeah I did I did you did yeah yeah uh there always a girl there's always a lighthouse yeah I just um forced myself to rush it where this time I'm not mhm should enjoy games well I was taking my time and enjoying Assassin's Creed Odyssey very very much uh and I don't know you can see behind me no i' just just had to pack up my [ __ ] again including the boes there was

no there no avoiding it this time right y you know the movies are coming tomorrow so damn that's it so when do you maybe fly out I don't want to jinx it Luke but it's supposed to be next Monday okay okay a week from look do you have some porn or something you can look at between now and then uh I will not have anything uh at all in this house for one week except for myself and my dog okay too much information taking it I'm taking it in a different direction no but just as you can see behind me there's you know it's it still looks like this is a furnished home be

it's in a Spartan way is that TV stay no the TV will come everything will that's going tomorrow as well everything's going tomorrow wow anything that's not coming in my suitcase next Monday is going tomorrow so next week's show we're going to see some [ __ ] spareness behind you mate it won't even be at I height I'll be on the floor AKA your bed yeah that's right yeah but Assassin's Creed Odyssey is great really enjoying it I bought it good I think you'll like it I think you will like it I got uh from Amazon us I got the Gold Edition which has like all of the stuff for 20 bucks mhm 20 bucks okay really good value paid a lot more than 20 bucks for this I'll tell

you that I saw I think maybe in Kaku or somewhere they said hey there's some crazy thing on Amazon today so I was like you know what that's Destiny yeah every now and again I will buy like a like a hard copy of a game just because the price is just so good yeah yeah I got I never get around to installing it though but I bought in isolation for five bucks at Walmart like years and years ago I was like I can't say nothing to that it's five bucks have you played it yeah I played that again recently and uh when I was going through my alien uh movie marathon or I've got some follow up for that too but I also played a bit of isolation I stopped because it is really [ __ ] difficult it is really challenging and not fun way after a while yeah that's when you're redoing

the same thing like for the 10th time like you know what I'm not going to do this again I think it's not but the thing is you put the difficulty down too low there's just nothing to do it's just too easy it's like the alien just walks around in front of you and just doesn't pay attention I got to say the first time I saw the alien yeah were you hi under the desk I literally shrieked out loud that's cool yep yeah I was I recently started playing it through again I got up to the some Androids and God they are bastards the Androids are terrif [ __ ] alone what have I done to you nothing oh yeah cuz they got no hair and they're like kind of yeah creepy looking they just keep coming at me no that's their blood Luke it's like looks like ah so uh just a little bit of

followup last week I said that I started reading alien Covenant Origins yes and that it was quite interesting but it hadn't quite yet gotten to any of the kind of really meaty stuff I wanted to get into such I've finished it now alien Covenant origin the title itself is a miser as there are no aliens in this book does it talk about the origin of anything yeah they talk about the origin of the Covenant the ship the ship uh yeah so it's all about just kind of the stuff that happens in the couple of days leading up to the ship taking off loading up supplies the plumbing on the ship yeah look some dramatic stuff happens okay but uh not that dramatic and certainly no aliens does the cover the book have an alien on

it let me check I I've read it as an ebook obviously so yeah I feel like that would be on page one but let me see it does not it has uh it has a a person in a space shoot space shoot space suit space shoot a space [Music] shoot all right well at least that's something can't get sued for false I would say give it a miss actually okay yeah down I mean it was entertaining enough that I got to the end but mostly because I was like when are the aliens com the aliens going to turn yeah at least right at the end like Prometheus you know yes yeah where they just sort of crb it in at the end you're like oh was worth the it was worth the journey n yeah and they didn't even have

the word alien in the title they were very careful not to promise aliens and then they and then they put one in anyway no aliens in a alien Covenant Origins yeah I'll give that I'm reading uh the road by comic McCarthy oh yeah great which is uh quite dire but is I'm enjoying it anyway he likes to depress you yeah he does I signed up for audible again oh you no I'll never listen to how many deal how many credits you got now I've I've used them all oh wow okay I canceled it and then used all my credits I haven't listened to anything okay but then they sent me a thing go $3 for the next 2 months I went that's a good deal so I joined up again and then I'll cancel it again no it's good you know

what you should do you need to get yourself an activity that takes time and is boring like I've started running in the morning I run for half an hour each morning yeah I did that for a while I stopped but I should do it again I I actually I start to miss it when I don't do it and part of that is oh you get over that Dan you get over that I promise you but I listen to audio books when I do it and uh see I would love to do that but what yeah I know that maybe this is not for you Luke but but I I find myself cuz there's kind of ever since the circuit breaker started oh so that's what we call lockdown here no you're not allowed to use the phrase lockdown it's a circuit breaker circuit breaker okay it's it's a pandemic circuit breaker

okay but uh yeah I kind of like that yeah yeah yeah yeah it's the kind of euphemism that you can expect from Singapore I had I had an argument with somebody the other day um cuz I said look I don't mind that Singapore is a fascist country I just want them to admit it I just want them to admit they are yeah and uh the person I was arguing with is a professor at a university here and they were saying it's not a fascist country don't don't be hyperbolic and I'm like do they control the media and they're like yeah but you know like Britain controls the media and I'm like does Britain have conscription and they're like no but uh I find myself running further if I'm in a good bit in the book you know oh yeah cuz you want to hear more yeah cuz there's a kind of

like a couple of points that I could potentially turn back uh and if I met a really good part in the book I'll be like H I'll go to the next one yeah keep going I have been known when I when I used to read when I catch a train there was a few times where I'd sort of go an extra station if I wanted like a certain part and then just catch a trade back but man when I worked then I stopped reading when I was working in Sydney living in Orban I read so many books on the train it was so good that and I played son many 3DS games as well yeah those a good time having a commute is actually good for that and I I used to catch uh grab which is our equivalent of uber here in Asia oh yeah to to work every day because it it cost five bucks and took five minutes right uh and at a

certain point I was like no [ __ ] this I'll take the train and the bus and take 45 minutes because that's my time why am I hurrying to work mhm consume some entertainment yeah take some time for myself uh I uh quick follow up on Anthem that we talked about the other week uh Luke yeah you you can they I I feel like they mustn't have had this at the beginning there's a thing called I forgotten the name of it when you finish a mission it'll say do you want to go back to the city or do you want to go to uh free play or do you want to go to this Hub thing and you can go to the hub thing and it loads up quickly and it's got all the stores and all the [ __ ] but you don't have to go back to the city it's like a Docking Bay might be called the Docking Bay something like that no

no they had that at the start as well oh well never mind then all right although yeah I wasn't sure if they had that originally or not they they could they keep saying that they're working on it but yeah we'll see yeah apparently they're going to launch like this whole new version of it at some point just give me a single player game they did it's called Mass Effect androma and you hat single player games you can play like yeah all right the the followup from last week is that uh Luke you mentioned we're talking about Tron uh yep and you asked what Olivia wild was up to mhm yep you said you're a fan of hers and I am on Q uh Hollywood has this is scary she's making a Spiderwoman movie they've announced this week so Olivia wild you're

welcome this is not like an old article or anything this came out like two days ago it's news yeah and it's just an update here's what she's up to yeah the following films it's like for those three people that asked no look uh this you know I I walked past her when I was in Hollywood recently no didn't on the street the whole time I was there I was like celebrity I know what she was up to she was [ __ ] she's got like four kids and she was like trying to walk down the street yeah keep away from you yeah 100 m Daniel uh well yeah there's a a Spiderwoman movie apparently for Sony she's doing I don't think she's not in it she's directing and producing it I think okay

or yeah so and they're keeping that away from the Spider-Man series I'm guessing uh so they can do their own thing or is it a Marvel thing who owns Spider-Man at this point Sony it's a Sony thing um yeah but sorry I guess what I mean is is it still on license though to Marvel is are this going to be no no I think that all fell apart that's over right yeah I think I think that no no I thought they they went no we're going to go back yeah I don't know where they thought they did and then they went and then they ended up going no we will go ahead with it because name made a phone call the last I heard was yeah that Spider-Man was still going to be Marvel well all right maybe but then everything caught on fire and who knows anymore honestly this is my least favorite of the Spider-Man men like

I don't even know what to call it this yeah this is my least of the Spiderman really yeah I think so pretty good I think he's absolutely fine but I just just more of the same considering to Toby Maguire cuz yeah I just like heiderman yeah for sure but also like if I'm going to watch a contemporary Spider-Man movie I'm going to rewatch into the spiderverse cuz it was [ __ ] great haven't watched that I got to watch Matt watch it today Matt maybe I will I'll see what I can do Luke oh I did I did get around to hiring Tron and I've got 30 days to watch it I fell asleep this afternoon and didn't get around to it so next week I'll watch Tron and Tron legacy all right

fine and spiderverse I'll think about all right no Luke spiderverse is better than Tron it's [ __ ] great man watch it well you've got uh you you could go and see speaking of your previous homework Inception and interstella you could go and see tenant right now is that correct I could I've seen one review for it though and it wasn't good oh yeah I've seen I've seen some also I don't care about reviews well I've only read headlines but it seems mixed and I'm I refuse to read any further yeah I saw all the yeah exactly I don't want any details at all so I'm not reading the reviews but I there is like a kind of a aggregate review thing on Dark Horizons here that I've linked was just kind of like you know all the summaries the consensus yeah yeah and I

think one thing I read that made me go well but maybe that means I like it it they said it's the most Christopher Nolan movie Christopher Nolan's ever made it demands basically demands that you watch it several times because it makes no sense the first time well well that's a terrible thing to go to see at the movies then no not necessarily just means that I'll if I've got to go see it three times well I saw I mean if it's good I don't mind I saw blade runner 249 three times Luke I happen to know you've seen some very [ __ ] movies at the movies multiple times it's a good point I saw episode one three times on the first day and I kept going back no but I'm looking at like how many times have you seen Spies Like Us I watched that probably about four

times a year but that's a good movie another movie we saw together Luke I rewatched Eyes Wide Shut the other day cuz hadn't seen it is it any good cuz I only saw it that one time with you I love it I think it I think it's got a lot of value but it is challenging on the viewer and uh I think after you know after it finished 3 hours runtime qu just said well that was interesting yeah so I'm just looking it but with tenet though with it being a very no movie that means it's going to end and it's going to make you decide what the movie how the movie ends I'm going to decide now instead of just instead of just telling me I'm going to decide before I go it's going to make me think that's that's the what to think I don't go to the movies to think I go to

watch stuff transform and blow up into a motorbike mhm all right Christopher Nolan There You Go full circle I don't think I'm going to go see it in the movie so all right just see now made me start to kind of want another good Transformers movie um cuz they the Bumblebee movie they have been good was that good I really like the movie okay cuz they have been good the first Transformers was good Dark of the Moon was pretty good um yeah we saw that here in Seattle right yeah we did yeah actually we saw it we saw it in um California on our way back to the airport oh you're right yeah we had some knows you just want to watch a movie like that don't really have to think I

watched the next one after that which was the Mary mark one and it was garbage oh I watched that on a flight and man that was to get through yeah I do recommend the Bumblebee one okay I'll give it a go mhm it's not Michael Bay it's a different director yeah yeah I think so anyway I think they haven't been Michael Bay for quite some time right oh okay I thought he was still doing the main series Maybe I'm Wrong uh perhaps no you could be right you could be right and I don't care enough to look it up so another director who is kind of in the same camp as Michael Bay except that I would put him up on a much higher pedestal uh is Zack Snider yes some news some news some some news a a lot of stuff came out yesterday some trailer

yeah yeah especially especially DC a trailer DC well a teaser trailer or what are they calling it a sneak peek yeah I've got to say though it it just looks like more Justice League I I was I so I watched this CU I was like I've got to see it and I was like are these not was these were these shots not in the other movie I have you have to remember it is still a Justice League movie like it's still not you'd have to know the pretty well to yeah I mean he's taken he's taken all the daytime sequences out by the look of it made him night time again which he said it was going to do yeah and I that's that's fine that's that's an improvement you know but it's still got that real

like sparse CGI landscape look and also it's very it's a slow trailer it's not like action or anything it's just like and and then they announce at the same time it's going to be 4 hours of this broken up into four separate um hour episodes to doing this an episode thing not a movie wait is that true yeah so it's going to be on HBO or whatever it is but it's going to be like four episodes of an hour each I didn't know that and you watch you watch we'll all binge them in the night like you wouldn't watch a 4our movie but you'll watch four 1 hour episodes yeah well at least with that you know when you can stop go get a drink go to the toilet then come back there's a bre for you mhm mhm sometimes I like watching a little bit into the next episode of a show and

then stopping so that it makes me feel like I'm reading a novel and not watching something episodic sure I chose to stop yeah DC fandom or something yeah that's right so there's there there's two more of note that uh that came out today number one they did a they did a roll call animation for James guns Suicide Squad and just announced the cast so also a sneak peek of that with bunch of behind the scenes footage looks interesting yeah so now we know it is a sequel it is part of the thing cuz it was always a bit confusing like this one was The Suicide Squad not Suicide Squad 2 or anything no it's got some of the same people and it seems like it continues the story so I mean I'll watch anything James gun makes Soh Oh I

thought you were going to say you watch anything Margo Robbie's in I've not seen a lot of things of Margo Robbie's in a lot of episodes of home and away that you have not seen yep Neighbors which one was she in I don't I don't even know I think she was home and away I'm not sure but honestly the thing that uh was most noteworthy to me today was the first trailer for The Batman oh yes I haven't seen that it looks all right it looks interesting it didn't blow me away of like holy [ __ ] no I was I watched it and I was like that looks like a Batman movie yeah exactly exactly you know what I'd love I'd love if this is not an origin story this is just another movie about Batman yeah we don't need an origin story we know where he

comes from exactly his parents got killed and then he's really grumpy about it and he beats up criminals that's they also they also announced that uh a couple games coming out as well yes yes so Gotham Knights which I'm confused by cuz when I first saw I've gone okay this is like carrying on from Arkham trilogy but it's not even though at the end of Arkham Knight he Bruce Wayne dies when the building blows up and that's how they start this trailer but then have gone n this is its own story and it's over on the side here like but you're just picking up where that game left off like it's but it's not rock steady either though right it's no it's the one of Brothers Studio Rock Steady do have a game coming out though yeah so

mhm Sude Squad away no well yeah cuz that one wasn't really game trailer that was a that look Su kill the Justice League yeah called right and I was like don't care about any of those characters and that no Captain boomerang's accent was terrible yes they should get me to do it yeah they should they absolutely should yeah but then know Gotham Knights I'm looking forward to who do you play as in that Batgirl Robin Nightwing or Red Hood okay all right yeah fair enough yeah when I when I get a Batman game I really want to play as people who aren't Batman that's just it's always my [ __ ] career I'm going to play as backgirl I know you cuz you you're digitally transgender cuz she's a Ginger yep gingers are the best I did a

podcast with another Ginger today wait no you didn't yeah neither of Dan and I have both brown hair yeah this is the second podcast I'm doing today you can't see all of my hair man that's a good point I got a very hairy chest what's this other podcast what's this [ __ ] save file oh yeah I had eron on it again today oh say your co-host on save file is also not a redhead so what the [ __ ] right it's just him with a mirror yeah I talked to myself for half an hour Golem style yeah I talk to myself a lot sometimes yeah so oh I got something Batman thing I got a bit of a bit of crow vibes from it yeah a little bit especially with the the eyeliner sure

yeah um maybe I'm going to have to go watch that after this cuz I haven't seen that trailer yet seems yeah you should it's interesting and if I hadn't seen Christopher Nolan's Batman's and and this had been the one that came after the shoe marker ones I would have gone great a serious new take dark and gritty we have seen this before so is this sort of going like the The Joker path or no no it doesn't look like that I thought so too but no it's it's just a square they're really just confusing everyone with what they're doing then so they're not even sort of going down the Joker puff with that sort of past gritty thing they're doing another stand thing over like Joker it just seems like a Batman movie but just kind of with a different tone I'm assuming the bad guy is the

Riddler because there's a lot of question marks in the see I I thought that I thought zaz at first too because it looked like it was like a serial killer so yeah that's true but then it also had guys with big big [ __ ] Smiles painted on so God know yeah they were but then we've also got the news bat flick is back yes well against his will I assume this is part of a three picture deal right yep he apparently demanded changes to the script which I assume means he had scenes that he was supposed to do that he wanted removed to have less days on set and he wants everyone to know that this does not mean his back I actually have a theory um that this is cuz there's always to talk about doing the flash point story so

flash is going to go back in time I think this is going to be him resetting that character and he will not be back after this this is going to get as Robert patson yeah so what is he doing he's back for another movie or he's in this movie in the flash he's in Flash oh he's in Flash they doing that with that what's his name the guy the guy who choked out yes yeah so he's actually going to be in it how does he keep his job how is he going to choke out a woman in the movie yeah I mean probably not maybe really quickly too fast yeah you would notice you won't notice yeah oh so we get more bat flick that'll be that'll be good I like a picture when now is that photo of him outside having a cigarette yeah I think I think he could have he could have been a great Batman

he was a great Batman in just some very bad Batman bad movies he's he's married to or dating anas at the moment so got to cheer him up a bit right mhm You' think so yeah he still looks pretty depressed to me anytime I see him well it's cuz he's got to go back and be Batman again yeah you know what I was thinking because you know I watched Watchmen last week uh [ __ ] such a good movie but I was thinking that like the the one thing about Watchmen that perhaps holds it back from having the impact that it does is that it's made up characters uh that you're meant to kind of loosely associate with real superhero characters that you know they don't have to actually adhere to any rules or

anything that have been created there's no baggage for the character yeah but not only that you have to kind of assume like as a viewer you just have to okay I just have to accept that the characters you're showing me now are always the superheroes and always were oh sure MH yeah yeah whereas I think if they had somehow been able to use actual recognizable superheroes I.E if it was Superman instead of Dr Manhattan who just decided to not care about humans anymore and go and live on Mars that would have had a much bigger impact like if it was Batman instead of night Mo moth guy night Al yeah um then you know who was like no I don't fight crime anymore you know I've still got the B cave down there but I try not to use it in

there or not because there's a great scene in Watchman where he tries to bang a chicken can't good point yeah you had to get it down to his bunker first yeah then he was a to reform that's right it's true it's true mhm he had to watch a nearly die and then he was like I'm aroused now yeah that's weird it yeah yeah this erection is not going to last long okay just unless you want to put yourself in some sort of danger yeah she's like look the last time I had sex I was getting banged by a clone of my boyfriend while he was actually working in the Next Room so mhm I watch something interesting this week and it was an origin story okay it

was the origin story of Perry Mason that no one we wanted okay is that any good I remember fantastic I remember watching Perry Mason when I was young like it was black and white it was awesome is a TV series or movie no it's a TV series it's set before Perry Mason it's set in the 30s and it's basically how Perry Mason became a lawyer um and before par got shot in an Alleyway and that's right yeah and uh [ __ ] Joker put his finger in his mouth through the gate of his house when he was a kid and he was like I'm G to become a lawyer and fight pedophiles and murder you one day um it's really good Robert Danny Jr produces okay it's uh it's quite dark and it's very serious and

there's a dead baby in the first scene uh it's pretty confronting but at the same time it's not challenging like a lot of HBO shows that kind of like it's not it's never confusing it's it's still good versus bad and you know good guys wear white hats bad guys wear black hats or still sort of like there's like one court case an episode no it's not it's one court case for the whole thing yeah yeah okay you should remind me that Always Sunny episode I know that's what I was quoting I don't actually there the black no no I know I know I was wondering if that's what you were doing it's just easier back in the 80s yeah yeah um oh maybe I'll check this out I Matt I think Luke I think you would like it too especially if you used to watch Perry Mason I mean from what I remember of

Perry Mason watching it with my grandparents it was just a fat dude behind a desk but that's not yeah it was a bit of that I think yeah cuz also there were two seasons of per M and one in like the 60s and one in the 80s oh it's kind of like Columbo where it yeah and I think every 20 years yeah I think in the early season he was a he was a like a a litigator and then the next one he was a judge or I could be completely wrong but this is before before all of that yeah I had an argument with somebody here uh who I think fair enough assumed that as someone my age I wouldn't know the details of this as well as I do but I was like yeah there's like uh I think 10 odd seasons of Columbo and they're like no there's not no there are no no there's not there's not I'm like there

are and started in started in the 60s no it didn't it did Columbo season 1 1968 here's the thing if you don't like Columbo enough to know these details that's fine that's actually most people yes but why who doesn't know about it but still wants to argue the fact I think I think it was just that that they did watch Columbo they just never realiz because I didn't realize this until I thought about it right so the first episode of Columbo February February 20th 1968 last episode January 30th 2003 wow yeah wow and that was only because he he died he'd still be making him if he was alive that's right and there are many seasons are there uh

there's 13 yeah there you go just want to show that went on forever y but not Le it makes sense though because he yeah they just they just do another one every now and again at least he was a detective though I remember I used to watch Murder She Wrote um which is basically Columbo with a woman but not just she just wherever she went people would die yeah yeah it's like you're the problem Angela Lansbury stop going to Country manners yeah oh man Columbo was great and I love that like William Shatner was the murderer in two episodes of COL two different characters two completely different characters I love how they used to do

then yeah that's right whereas Mur she wrotes the opposite you don't know who did it until she reveals it oh there's another hul poo movie too oh is there yes murder on the Nile corpse on the Nile killing on the Nile something like that set in Egypt I got to watch the first one that's the one with all the everybody in it right yeah and and this has got everyone else in it so anyone any Hollywood aists who weren't in that first one are in this it's quite good Matt quite good I'll check that out classic old timey mystery yeah on a train on a train in the orient oh I watched a TV series uh this week that you guys should definitely check out I don't know if it's on your Netflix it's called high score it is the documentary about video games that Netflix I

actually started watching that today very good I just well I watched about 10 minutes of the first episode and I was enjoying it like the guy who who created Space Invaders yes and he's got like his book out like his original book where he designed the characters and the layout yeah it's really interesting we know those designs well we uh we used it as our logo for quite during the first year yeah that's right and modified it's just enough that we hopefully wouldn't get sued but never happened so and then eventually got rid of it actually that wasn't even the first before then we had the space baby from 2001 Space Odyssey the space baby and then uh yeah for you know for other copyright infringement how many episodes does this have uh I think it's six yeah six it

goes each one has I think like two related stories in video games generally speaking so like CU there's the the creative Space Invaders In the first one and I think the other one in that is the the guys at MIT who are making the right no it's Lovecraft country ah I tried to watch this but there was a spanner in the works HBO Max is not the same as anything else and I don't have HBO Max and it was do I spend 15 bucks to watch one episode of a show or do I just wait and figure out look I actually I would uh well I'll admit I don't have HBO Max either but it's it's not available here but we do have this thing called HBO GO which is like a small version of it HBO GO doesn't work anymore yeah right because you have HB

Max yeah H all the HBO all of Warner Brothers and all of Turner and actually that's that's probably one that I will get when I go back home I think there's enough content on that that I uh probably get some value out of um I like this all right wasn't sure if I was going to um even in the first kind of few minutes of the show thought okay it's interesting but is it good and then by the end I was like okay no this is this is good okay yeah I'm definitely I I wanted to watch it I just yeah so this is not password and I was like oh I don't have one of those for this so this is uh set in the real world HP Lovecraft does exist and they acknowledge that he was a racist and um it focuses on uh an

African-American guy who loves Lovecraft um okay and when his father dies he leaves a mysterious note saying come and find me in Lovecraft country and uh so he's kind of going across America to this is one written by Jordan Peele isn't it it is yeah yeah yeah and it's very got hismo he's heading towards you man yeah yeah wow yeah there you go yeah have a look you look out for them when they get there I will I will I maybe I can meet them I mean I don't know if if it gets better for them but in the first episode not a lot of people in the towns they meet were um deceptive okay uh but yes very good and I can't wait for the rest to come out and I'm not going to watch it next week and not going to have to wait eight weeks and then watch seven seven episodes back

back o I can watch on binge binge the [ __ ] is binge that's the streaming service we have in Australia I should have called they should have called it Minge yeah can watch it on Ming Luke can you binge it though no that's what they aiming for no no it's still going to be one episode a week but they're trying to be they're trying to I know go to what people use streaming service for like binge stuff so binge is is you got Netflix Stan and binge now in Australia n yeah and Amazon Prime video binge is the HBO stuff I've got now here every [ __ ] Channel now just has their own

subscription so it's it's like the the whole thing where it was like oh you just have to pay you know one thing and you get all the TV shows but Netflix was supposed to be is now well now if you want to watch Always Sunny some of it's on Hulu but the new ones are on FX so you have to pay for the FX subscription and oh there some stuff's on Showtime you have to pay for that as well which this was always the thing like when it was going back to this this is where people are going to go back to pirating when it becomes too difficult to watch a show again exactly yeah well that's when this thing popped up and it was like oh yeah if you want to watch Lovecraft country you've got to have HBO Max like well I'm logged into HBO GO W that doesn't it's not we

don't have that anymore you got to we changed it on you like a [ __ ] all right I'll see what I can do wink yeah well have fun at CH tuga I do have all of the streaming services in Australia at the moment though but I can't keep this up have HBO in Australia at this point as well no no the best you'll have is binge sorry I've just noticed somebody's put Night Trap under games are we talking about Night Trap the the old game the Retro game I'm going to assume slightly okay mhm lost a [ __ ] over yes mhm I mean Night Trap was filthy it it was filth not today standard I played it yesterday jenet and I played it because

it came out on switch M yep switch you can get night trap on switch wow I got it from abandon wear at one point played it on dosbox but it came out on switch PlayStation 4 for some reason the Xbox version was cancelled yeah right which annoyed me cuz I want an achievements probably because it's it's not great no it's interesting and I I I'll play more just because the the the premise of it is very interesting so vampires isn't it what's that space vampires or something well no so the the the conceit of the game is that that you're controlling the security system for this house somehow and the house is full of traps house cuz it's like a I guess vampires own the house and they invite a bunch of sority girls up for the weekend

and it's not vampires because apparently Hasbro was involved with the production and they said now vampires are too scary um can you make them like weak vampires and so they came out with they come up with this they called oras or something it's like oh hungry vampires that are really slow but they can't look like vampires so they're just kind of guys with plastic bags on their heads and they can't it can't be reproducible violence that someone at home could do so you've got to find a way to make it some bizarre thing that no one could actually do so they've got those those hook these hook things they hook around the neck of the of the the people and it like sucks the blood out cuz they're like yeah kids can't kids will never be able to figure out how to do that so

that's fine and so the the game is you control security cameras and you flick between them and when you see one of those ogga things you have to wait for it to get near a trap and then hit the button and then you can trap it that's literally the game is that Matt you starred in a film uh that I wrote that I that I completely ripped off from that game's premise yeah I I did see the similarities there yeah yeah it's just so funny though because the game opens with this it's all full motion video too by the way they filmed all of this stuff MH like it's all full motion video and in the opening sequences are these military guys who show up later on to rescue the sority people it's not all

girls actually it's just uh no it is it's it's the family of vampires and then now now that I think about they are all sority girls now that I think about it yeah they're all girls hot girls and and that's what like 90s hot and you during the opening sequence it's these military guys and they're all talking amongst themselves and they're like well who's controlling the security system and then he like looks down the camera they are and then they just start talking to you at you pretty funny anyway it's not good but it is interesting so well you've gone all manly again Dan you must have bumped your mic or something a why does it do that I did bump it I if it doesn't record really irritating um but also we can just say dead may sound like Barry Balo for the rest of this episode

concordantly the in the mamoru uh Morpheus was killed by a man with Magic Bullets because there was this conceit in the in the game that now that they had beaten the machines you couldn't die in The Matrix you just respawned it was like a feature which was as convenient for a video game right yeah yeah right yeah but it didn't apply to Morpheus because he was killed by an assassin who used Magic Bullets but nothing they didn't tell nothing nothing told you that in the game he just got shot and then he was dead and then apparently everyone was like the [ __ ] how does that work and then later on they were like ah it's got Special bullets it's got Co yeah he injected the bullets with this code that

that blocks the emergency Jack out which is what it's called Jack out yeah anyway look here's the thing if uh if most people who watch this haven't played that game which is most people mhm yeah and most people that played the game didn't understand that he was really dead anyway yes then him not being in this is going to be ridiculous this is going to be worse than when Darth Maul shows up in Solo and you were you were meant to know that in some kid's cartoon at some point a [ __ ] mechanical legged Darth Maul comes back to life yeah I I knew that and I didn't watch it stop doing it I did know it but only because of the internet not because I watched it it's yeah I could quite

an event evidently oh god well so apparently before any of this happened they emailed apple and probably Google as well uh because the email that they sent Apple actually had uh Google in in place of Apple in some spots so they'd copied and pasted it wrong um but they sent them an email basically saying uh we would just like to request uh the following things um we would like competing Payment Processing options other than Apple payments without any fees uh so that we can just sell all our software store not give you any money and then also we'd like to have our own epic gam Store app available on the IOS app store through direct installation

that has equal access to the underlying operating system features for software installation and update as the IOS app store does uh and apple replied and said [ __ ] off they're lucky they even replied and didn't just delete I know but yeah it's really like eic's coming out like we want you to just do all this for us and we will give you nothing in return instead of giving money fre rain and uh yeah so that's interesting but then also uh there was an earlier this article earlier where from 2018 where Sweeney Tim Sweeny had said that uh he felt the cost of being on the Google Play Store was too much 30% uh same as the IOS app store you get they get 30% he said too high so they pulled fortnite off the Google Play Store because on Android you can just go

direct MH uh and then nobody was installing it yep and so had to go back on the Google Play Store and it's like oh so you don't think there's any value in the Google Play Store right but didn't no one was buying your game until you were on it it's interesting so h i I still don't think they've got any chance of winning I really don't no and Apple's threatened to take away their developer credentials which would as a result of all this too which means they're not going to be on iOS at all anymore but Apple have gone look all you need to do is just make that small update to go back that you give us that 30% again and we will reinstate everything yeah just put back the way it was mate yep yeah same as [ __ ] pay for it yeah yeah and this is how much we charge if you don't like

it you don't have to use our service I think look if if if if they think 30% is too high okay but like I don't know if this is the best way to to go about it because like they've gone too extreme like I understand what they did with the Epic store where they went like we're going to charge less that that makes sense but this is you you need to do the same thing of go make your own phone make your own operating system and do that way not just go we don't agree with that so we're just going to not do it but still want you to that's that's right that's not how it works you don't just get to it's like uh people are like um I'm just not going to pay my taxes I don't believe that the government should be able to take you don't get to just not do it like that's
