I think I've worked out the worst thing about training people online welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy so I had to give training recently and it was all over online so everyone had their mics muted and we weren't using cameras the same bandwidth but I didn't know if my jokes were Landing or not so I present I'd say a little line and then just silence that's great so I don't know I think I'm hilarious but I don't know if they were sitting there sort of gig giggling to themselves or just going disguise an idiot was this a jokey situation is this a what sir a

jokey situation because I know that your job can be quite serious at times I am always the fun guy yep yes you are I cannot take anything seriously and yeah so it's fine it's training training you're meant to have fun I find joking bog training you take more in cuz you then you start associating it with enjoyment but if you're just there someone talking at you or showing you pictures or making your R stuff you're not learning speaking of some I go for who is right now concurrently doing two online degrees I can concur yes yeah look's that look's that cool teacher everybody had that's right didn't learn Lear anything yeah but you remember yeah and then you heard on Facebook that he'd

been arrested for for something like oh no we always wanted bet I know what that was yeah yeah I was thinking uh about cool teachers the other day at Luke do you remember Mr Maguire yes the history teacher Matt we had a history teacher called Mr Maguire who uh one day showed up to teach us about World War II uh and he shaved his beard down to just just the The Little Hitler Mo and he was wearing what the the black [ __ ] Nazi dress uniform and he proceeded to give us the lecture on Hitler in the first person Wow have was born in australa 1899 I can't imagine that you would be able to do that in this day and age Christ he probably should have been able to do it back then probably not yeah yeah in that he he's he's lucky there were no cell phones although I suppose I

don't know what he's doing now but we had a few strange teachers at our school we certainly few divorces and hookups happened mhm oh yeah we had not necessarily in that order yeah yeah know we had we had that too the math teacher was dating the um the art teacher at one point and that was a the students when we found out mate yeah small schools in Western Sydney iose they're do you remember our teacher Mrs Novak yes well I don't know if she's still there but she was still teaching when my niece started High School wow wow and she was old then she was old then teachers all are except they're not that's why it's I remember being in in like early high school and thinking that

the senior high schools were so old like those kids are so much bigger than me and I remember studing kindgarten looking at the six form kids going like [ __ ] I hope those scary monsters don't come anywhere near me yeah speaking of kids I went into a no I what all right I don't know why I went into a Toys R Us yesterday right and I hadn't been in do they still exist they do right apparently cuz I haven't been into one for years but I was seeing a movie and I was a little bit early so I killed some into always are us and um things have changed a little bit since I since you're allowed back for one yeah for for starters people live there they live inside there I I I assume that's

the case because people were treating it like it was their [ __ ] home and there were just kids strewn across the floor in the aisles playing with toys that I guess belong to them when I was young you used to have to purchase toys in a toy store but now now you just grab whatever you lay on on the floor and your parent just stands by watching you do it watching a person try to step over you to get to the Lego to see what's new in Lego these days and I've got to say it just that experience I think we should start hitting again I think we no I have kids but we should hit them we should hit them hard I remember working out I remember being a kid and I never did that cuz I knew that if I did something stupid like that I'd get in trouble for it and also

I worked toys us and as a stor if you saw someone do that you walk up and go stop that times have changed man you can't you can't tell a kid off for anything now that kid will sue you it's could be a business kid then you're in trouble yeah yeah parents are afraid of kids I was petrified by parents when I was a kid yeah you're right there is that sense that that parents are scared cuz they're like I don't know what I can do I'm going to get in trouble if I do something so I'm just going to let the K wants yeah when I was a kid I didn't have a sense of morality I just didn't want to get [ __ ] hit but then you also when you growing up like that you think your parents are responsible yeah yeah that's true and then you get to their the age that they were and you go

they were full of [ __ ] yeah man I am older than my parents were throughout my my Early Childhood just blows my mind like how the [ __ ] did when my dad was my age he had a 20-year-old yeah that's [ __ ] crazy same yeah same as mine yeah yeah it was me as I couldn't imagine having a child and he had a 20-year-old yeah yeah that's [ __ ] weird but but but at least we had that delusion that our parents knew everything and were in control kids these days I don't think have that because they they must kids are smart they must look at these scared shitless parents and just go you're a joke dad you're [ __ ] joke what a [ __ ] [ __ ] yeah now now at the start of that you did mention something I want to go back to go H going movies you went to Toys R

Us to pass time before you did what before I went to the movies it must have been a SPO cuz you can't do tell me about it I saw I saw a great headline the other day um Tom Cruz risks life for new film and the article was that he'd gone to a cinema mhm to see the same film I did which was which was tenet so in solidarity with Tom you went you see him there the latest Christopher Nolan film tenant what did you think yeah I want to know what you thought I don't want to know anything about want to say too much yeah and I'm not going to mention the plot at all is there one I'll say that I thoroughly enjoyed my experience watching tenet was that just being out of the house or did

scared you know I had my my big box of popcorn and I was like I'm gonna take my mask off to eat this but I really don't want to that's funny did they will they hand you the popcorn with it was it like a weird awkward pause where it's like are you sure you want this eat it yeah exactly yeah you get outside if you want to have a Munch all right you don't you can't that's I mean that's one thing but I mean you guys this is probably the wrong crowd but have either of you guys had a haircut since the co I cut my own I uh yeah as you can see from the video I also you had quite a lot of haircuts mate yeah yeah one on top of the other no um that you have to leave your mask on to get a haircut which is odd when they're like cutting

around the sides cu the ears are kind of in my opinion the most important part of the haircut is like up and around the ears you can leave the top little bit long they just leave that that would be weird yeah the monk so I did I cut my own hair cuz it's getting a bit long but the ears are what's starting to annoy me and I need to go get that don't cut your ears off Luke that's not you can't do that they need to I can't put the no I'm sick of hearing just grow your beard outwards yeah more so you've gotten the length but you don't have the the the width well I I trimmed the width quite a lot when it goes out it looks just a bit bushy czyy so I just trim down that's what see I'm the opposite when I have you guys have noticed I've completely

shaved this week too um but uh CU you want to let back into Australia yeah that's right yeah yeah they like he's from the tip of Malaysia he's got weard um I just don't want anything standing in my way at this point clean cut Australian boy mhm but because my face is so long and thin I I like try to minimize the length and just let it grow out until it looks like I've got like a finely chiseled Jaw that's that's the one reason I have a beard whenever I grow one to give the illusion I've got a normal shaped face reason I have a beard is I hate shaving it is pretty neat not having to do that look Luke keeps alluding to the to this implying that the tenant is bad because he has read some negative

reviews but I uh I not so it sounds like it's not bad it's not bad it sounds like it's not up what the quality that were used to I tell you what and this I'm not going to mention the film at all but I'll just tell you a little anecdote so H and I are in separate countries right now uh and we saw tenant at the same time I went to the 11: a.m. session she went to the 1:00 a.m. session 1: p.m. session and we saw her at the same time and then call each other to discuss she did not have the same experience I did okay but she didn't hate it either but I got a lot more out of than she did it's a it touches on time travel doesn't it I'm not going to say I'm not going to say a word about the plot the less you know the better not that it's holy

original or that that's it's twisty or anything like that but just experience it I mean [ __ ] Matt I don't even know when this is coming out for you I know I don't know when I'll be able to see the [ __ ] thing that's the problem I mean Luke's already said he just doesn't give a [ __ ] about this movie he's only going to watch it now he's going to see it just a just a Luke I would see it just to piss mat off yeah thinking about it I [ __ ] desperately want to see this yeah yeah no you do uh you you'll likely think what I did H had some criticisms and I couldn't disagree with her criticisms they were all accurate um but nothing that's fine nothing really diminished my experience I really enjoyed it do you think it is a movie you have to see at

the movies or is it fine just to watch at home I mean not have a choice uh I'm I'm at the point now where I would say there's no movie you have to watch at the movies yeah honestly watch it all at home and it was [ __ ] Freez in there and especially social distancing there's like chairs between every and without a full room of people it's [ __ ] C I didn't want to be that cold for 2 hours you know this that's right they normally do have the air con turned up quite high but yeah without the people in there generating that warmth yeah this says home I can this says I can see it this week oh okay I'm just maybe since the Embargo has been broken and the rest of the world seen it America's like just go just [ __ ] go I can buy tickets I could go see it tomorrow today I see

it tomorrow you've got some homework Matt for next week I'm still working on my homework I will get around to seeing Tron and Tron legacy I have another two weeks Spider-Man into the spiderverse before you watch TR I have I've purchased a movie that I have not watched yet um I'm planning to watch it today I've I have I have ready to go Bill and Ted face the music oh is that out Y is that available for purchase straight to On Demand oh man that's great what platform is that is that iTunes or something or yeah I just I bought it on iTunes yeah oh I know what I'm watching on the plane Jenna had not seen Journey uh so we watched that last

night and then today we watch Bill and Ted face the music so watch it this week we'll discuss next week maybe I will find out if how to watch it here all right but no I think what I'm actually going to start watching next is uh Robotech again for some reason I decided to listen to some of the music for it I was listening to We Will Win I got a bit teary eyed I've gone I need to watch Robot Tech again well I watched something that you recommended Luke and then Dan championed your recommendation uh I've been watching Norman God it is good I just watched it again what a [ __ ] funny show I did not expect it to be as fun funny as it is Dan's Frozen did you have you watched it all or I've watched uh all of season 1 and I'm in season two oh Dan's back he

was frozen for a minute hello hello guys actually you guys both froze not me I was fine no I'm going to say it was you that froze because me and mat were having a conversation well for me it FR it I said to Matt does Bill and Tate's Bogus Journey hold up and he went like this and then he just stay and I waited and waited and waited while I thought he was just like how do I put this no the answer well the answer to that question is yes I thought it I think it's really funny think it's a very funny movie yeah okay I just found a site showing like how to rent and buy it to rent Bill and T face and music is like 20 bucks to buy it is 25 bucks yeah okay that's the world we live in yeah they're more expensive because you know you're getting them

extra $5 who's renting it well I bought it on purpose because I want supp this it's a couple of gig do you want to have it just sitting there no no cuz when you buy it you've got you oh you can redownload you can rown I I just still them buying the file you're buying the rights to it oh not this again which is all yeah exactly you to be honest to be honest renting it probably is the better option you're buying a license to viewer on that streaming platform as long as it doesn't go away renting probably is their license retains although for 20 versus 25 I think yeah purchase is uh makes sense when it's like couple of bucks for the rental versus 20 for the purchase I Reon sometimes that's probably the better choice but cuz you're kind of still renting it

anyway but but yes burgus Journey holds up I think burgus Journey was always my favorite of the two uh really and I really do think it's a better I I think it's better I still do I think it's better than excellent adventure but really better even yeah okay interesting yeah I'll be honest I can't even remember the plot of Bogus Journey I remember a lot of yeah they die that's right denoma sends back robot versions of them to kill them to destroy the the band and then they die and they go to hell and because the joy the the band brings world peace right yes and he wants chaos and um is the second one the one where they go the they realize they hadn't learned how to play any music yet yeah at the Battle of the Bands they' defeat the bad guys and then they're

like now we have to perform they're like a [ __ ] we've been so busy we forgot to learn how to play guitar so they use the time machine it's great and they come back with so good yes and children and children yeah Little Bill and little Ted they each have an opposite baby hey one thing I always knew about Bill and Ted is that bill his full name is Bill s Preston Esquire right but I have since learned that Esquire is reserved for lawyers if you have Esquire at the end of your name it means you're a lawyer I believe really so I don't know what that alludes to yeah well there's a bit in Bogus Journey when they go to hell and his hell is having to give his grandma a kiss on her birthday and she says she says give me a kiss and he's like no way granny s

Preston Esquire so I guess that's just his last name right oh okay sure unless it's different in like Britain to America well what is the magazine Esquire then yeah it it it seems to just be synonymous with gentlemen doesn't it but I read somewhere recently that the actual meaning is it's it's basically like the the the word doctor when you have a doctorate is that you put Esquire when you're a lawyer oh no okay we've got a we've got a couple lawyers who listen to this show in the UK Esquire historically was a title of respect accorded to Men of higher Social rank in the United States Esquire is mostly used to denote a lawyer okay there you go and apparently that is a departure from traditional use face of music's only online in America

at the moment in Australia it's not out yet well I'll let you know how it is yeah loving nor I'm into season 2 uh [ __ ] laugh out loud funny uh yeah way more rape jokes than I expected in a show of this era a sit like way more but then it's like what else I mean they're Vikings what else are they going to I mean yeah I mean the show Vikings on History Channel has like 10 seasons where no one gets raped right that's very historically inaccurate for Vi well Norman lots of it yeah it's sort of very accurate but at the same time just completely ridiculous yeah I got to watch more in fact maybe I'll download them so I can watch them on how far have you seen I watched the I finished first season and

I'm four four episodes of the first season only there was a bit in the first season had no time for TV cracked me up in the first season but I don't want to spoil it but um yeah it's super fun well this there it's so simple it's that bit where um what's the chief's brother has the flashback to when he's trying to smother him with the pillow and go so funny just cuz he's like too weak to do it oh God it's so funny such a funny show he's my favorite character that idiot yeah he's great isn't he yeah cuz he's just such a terrible Viking yeah with a chest full of dildos [Laughter] spoilers yeah so good uh I started

watching a show this week actually called Messiah which was on Netflix I was disappointed that it's not about a group it's not our Messiah yeah mixed race characters doing a drug deal down at St Mary's abandoned train station in the late '90s mhm with terrible accents and language you just cannot get away with anymore unless you're in Bill and Ted and terrible terrible acting and and copy music that mean Journey call a lot of people [ __ ] in that movie just for the record they do each other every time they hug right yeah also y [ __ ] mhm sure do so what's this show Messiah is pretty interesting it's from the point of view of a CIA agent as a um a guy in the Middle East starts performing Miracles and uh basically announces himself as the the Messiah yeah right and uh it's

really interesting actually and I I heard it got canceled after the first season so I thought it's probably pretty good probably pretty good and and really misunderstood you know so I thought I'd give it a and probably ends on a cliffhanger as well yeah I'm sure it does yeah Messiah anyone good in it anyone I would recognize it's got Michelle Monahan who is the wife the wife in the first season of True Detective that um Googl that uh Marty that Marty cheats on with um that girl you really like Matt Marty cheats on with the oh Alexandra Daria uh I I finished BioShock Infinite and I just wanted to say I just wanted to

mention it to say that I really wish I had written down what it was I didn't like about it the first time so that I could went on and on about it Matt it'll be somewhere yeah just go back and listen there is an episode where you and Dave say to me you're just wrong Daniel it's just not a good game and I'm saying well I enjoyed it so maybe you enjoy you didn't enjoy it and I did enjoy it but you know subjectively and you're like no it's just I remember Dave telling me I wouldn't I don't understand it no the thing is I think I think probably the problem was that I had the difficulty up high because I was more of a masochist about that kind of thing back then and I was forcing myself to get through it that I whereas this time I just kind of

I had just had it on like medium and immersed myself in the story and didn't you know like I wasn't really worried that much about the combat think about that game is it's not the greatest game but the story is great that's exactly I think that's probably what the problem was because but the game is f the game's okay no no it is fine it's just but I think I probably put it on hard and I refused to budge and that's probably why I didn't enjoy it combined with the fact that I was forcing myself to get through it and that's why sometimes you need to lower the difficulty to so you can actually get through the fighting and stuff to actually experience the story in the game a bit more like I did with um the the Star Wars game uh you play on normal difficulty it's meant to be like

a dark souls type of thing like you go you play you die you go back and you level up I put that onto story difficulty and enjoyed it I remember Dave telling me Daniel you don't play as many games as mad and I so your opinion is void yeah I I was obviously wrong how can I not like it just because like obvious I was wrong you are wrong it's great yeah and well see now I'm I'm through I'm playing the DLC as well which I never did oh you playing barrial at C yeah I'm into the second CH so good [ __ ] fantastic like and again I think it's that even like playing through the

main the main game by shook infinite I'm using vigors and things like that and I'm sure like I'm sure I just didn't do that the first time I like I said I I just I think the problem the first was me like because yeah yeah yeah because I got back everyone was going on about it so I was like rushing through it and then none of the moments landed properly because cuz I was just like yeah yeah yeah come on I got to finish this [ __ ] game and then it got to the end and I was like okay fine yeah I'm not I don't want to spoil it for anybody a new Bioshock coming out soon I don't know man I mean it'll be announced shortly not from Ken LaVine I don't think right we started discussing it again so yeah that's that's true that's true we have oh yeah good point man I I even love

BioShock 2 and that's like no ijo bi about that game now I I want to replay the the older one so I'm going to I remember when uh when qu and I first got together I think Bioshock three had only just come out and I was playing that and I was like trying to tell her why it was good and I was explaining the other games and then when I got to explaining about number two and I'm like and then you get to play as the little girl he's like oh you get to play as a little girl do you that must be very exciting mhm it is it is it really is such a new perspective on the game do you know what I I discovered this yesterday Dan you know when we were at pax's Prime and we saw the Bioshock Infinite panel where they showed the

version of the game that was quite different from from the game that we finally got which is interesting because I don't know if that footage is available anywhere I've looked for it actually I couldn't find it cuz I wanted to see that still with the empire Strikes Back yeah because it um it predated when they were streaming and when people really had a lot of cameras and stuff cuz we didn't have iPhones then we had those flip we had those flip phones on that so there was in that period just before all of the stuff right so we saw we saw a version of BioShock Infinite so there was uh e Ken LaVine Troy Baker and Courtney Draper doing a panel about and they showed footage from BioShock Infinite and there were a bunch of things about it that

were completely different I think uh cuz Elizabeth had healing powers she heals a horse that's dying there's a scene where she's her and Booker are arguing over whether she has time to like heal this horse and while she's healing the horse she rips open tear to I think it's it's the us somewhere in in the actual game that kind of happens but she opens a tear to Paris and and it's not she's not doing healing and so I wonder in the in the final game if you die she reviv a cross time as well yes yeah right in in the finished game if you if you die she can revive you but they never really explain how but I think originally she had healing powers in the in the version we saw that would explain why that's part of the game uh and then the other thing was that there's a sequence where you

Booker you go into this like um gazebo and there's an old man in there with a shotgun and a rocking chair you have a conversation with him and then he goes crazy and then he has the murder of crows Vigor MH but but none of that was in the game M but we got posters do you remember we got posters oh yeah of i' forgotten about that and there were earlier versions of the characters and I discovered yesterday they're worth $150 each what so I've you left yours in the hotel somewhere didn't you defitely I don't M that I've got I had two of them I don't know where you might even have mine well that's exactly right I might have because I I had two of them in Sydney uh but I don't know where they are now because I'm not in Sydney

anymore so I can't remember what they looked like even it's I'm going it's just the poster right it's Booker and and Elizabeth in front of a wall with wanted posters and it and he's got the hand Cannon and she's like behind him it's just kind of like it just it was early concept art so I think there things and the quote on the poster is Dave saying I felt sick because I wanted to [ __ ] my own daughter exactly yeah it's Booker with a with spoiler and uh yeah so anyway yeah I just I was looking up um I like oh remember that panel that Pax you went to and I was looking up stuff and then I was like $50 for the [ __ ] posters I need to find those and put them in a frame yeah probably good posters anyway

yeah no they they were cool but the thing is I had mine on my wall for a long time and I wonder if it just got wrecked and I disposed it cuz I I mean I've got we got a lot of posters of packs and not all of them end up being worth anything yeah sometimes you get posted it's like I don't really want to take this from you but it's rude to say no yeah and a poster doesn't fit into most suitcases so no you really got to want a poster I remember when I went to um E3 a couple of years ago and I went to that big EA event and this guy he for some reason decided to interview me for something filmed it and go like because you've done this we'll take you over and you meant to line up and get all this stuff but we'll give you these posters M yeah okay whatever gave me like these

really nice high quality posters and I just went yep and just left them in the hotel threw them straight the trash like I'd flown there for like 4 days just to go to E3 I had a backpack with me there was nothing yeah like I wasn't going to be able to take them back with me but I F bad going no I don't want them that was back before Anthem came out Mt do you remember the documentary exit through the gift shop yes about Banky and uhry Mr brainwash yeah what name yeah yeah so I if you recall I spent a few days with Terry doing a documentary film and at the end of that he gave me a painting and uh it was garbage it was really it was really a the documentary and I was and he was like

here I'm going to give this to you and I'm like I don't really want this it's awful I'm not going to put this up on my wall or something you know is it worth something well that's what I thought but I the only reason I took it well I mean other than politeness was like maybe this will be worth something but then again I think the world's forgotten Mr brainwash now yeah he's kind of a flash in the pan revived the documentary but because you have people around you that go they would really like that and you sort of like yeah I feel weird about that at all yeah yeah I definitely do not appreciate this thing that I've been given that other people really would that's right yeah any anyone else want this yeah speaking of B though bangy uh like took

a ship out to the ocean to like rescue refugees and then got stranded at Sea and had to be rescued wait how do they know it was beny uh cuz he' painted his boat don't we know who Banky is now I certainly don't he's a singer isn't he what oh yeah you think uh there is a rumor that he is um not the singer but the one of the guys from Massive Attack oh really M that's a rumor but there's rumors that he's a couple of different people I never cared until I met Terry and then I was like you know and you could tell me right so now I want to know it's it's interesting because based on what I know from the documentary Terry doesn't seem like someone who would keep the secret necessarily which is interesting yeah I know like I mean I've never met the guy but from what I

know absolutely or not even just like he'd just be too dumb to just not say it well that and he would want the prestige that comes with sharing the secret sort of like he would want you to know that he knows so he would tell you know people can't help spoiling [ __ ] TV shows because they want you to know that they know that they knew yeah so that when you watch it later you can watch it and think back and go that's right he had seen it before yeah maybe that's right yeah he did watch Game of Thrones the night it came out he wasn't lying to me he really did watch it blood did flow at the Red Wedding that's right yeah confirmed um I think you're probably right and I think if there wasn't a documentary where Banky literally says hi I'm Banky and I know

this man yes he he probably would have done that I think that probably saved him cuz now he's the guy who is friends with Banky so H yeah cuz he didn't tell me wink and I asked no I asked I'd tell you guys if I knew you talking hours of the listeners everyone yeah we'd [ __ ] announce it on this podcast yeah and and and it would still be as big a secret as it [Laughter] was we've got some followup on the uh the Epic uh Apple Google lawsuit business I listened to some different podcast this week and I got a different perspective on it there are people out there who feel that maybe Apple does have a bit of uh not a monopoly but like their their 30% you know across the board is not always uh is not

currently making people happy and maybe Apple should be thinking of changing things um but as long as things proceed as normal they won't so there's this attitude that like epic maybe is doing some good here but that doesn't mean they're going to win and they've now been uh they've apples terminated their mobile developer account the a court uh put in a order that said they're not allowed to they threatened to revoke their blanket revoke their like apple developer stuff which means epic would no longer be able to develop the Unreal Engine for Apple Hardware software Apple software so which would affect a lot of games on Apple [ __ ] lot of games like they would all stop working all of any game using the Unreal Engine I think and I sort of like this the judge was sort

of it was a common sense approach like you're not doing Apple you can't do that that's a bit of an overreaction for what's happening sure but epic you're not putting fortnite back on there because you brought this on yourself well not only that apparently epic have submitted SE I mean I think three is the actual number I mean that might not might or may not be the number they submitted three new updates for approval since this all started none of which removed the the you know the payment issue and were just like updates one of them added a character from their you know their 1984 parody ad added the character to the game and obviously Apple reviewed them and said no no no that's fantastic funny cuz apple is still saying like as soon

as you just move it back to the old payment system yes Apple's all these been very funny every statement from Apple is like regarding the situation that epic have created for themselves MH look here's the thing I mean it's it's Apple's platform they can charge what they want if you don't want to be on that platform don't but then at the same time is it a monopoly because you can't have a competitor to that it's not like you can go on another app store on the [ __ ] Apple device well the argument is uh if your developers uh are unhappy there's a problem like if if if it's come to this there's a problem and maybe Apple should consider the fact that maybe there is something that needs to

be addressed here because how did how did it come to this like because epic is not the only company that's had issues recently like uh they're just the only ones that with enough money to actually do something like this and not go under like recently that email app hey which I mean we didn't talk about this but there was they got pulled from the app store because they there's this weird rule where because the the app store has gone it's it's gotten weird now this is basically the the biggest issue is that when iPhones came out the App Store made sense now things are weird because stuff's changing and Apple's not changing with it so you you had hey which is this email client right but you have to have an account to use it with hey but you can't sell it without using

the Apple payment system so they just didn't have any way to purchase anything in there so it's basically you Apple said you download this app as a customer and it doesn't do anything so they said no get it out of the store and they're like well we're not allowed to tell people to go sign up because you won't let us and then so Apple's like well the app's got to do something it's like yeah it's they've created this weird situation for themselves basically cuz like Netflix no problem right it's just a reader app you can have a read app but everyone knows about Netflix so it's not a problem so I don't know it's but it's also it's not like Android where you can do the third party install right yeah there's no way to get well no no iable way to Rel whereas with Android you can

actually just go make your own installer that will work yeah just put it on there there's no issue with it mhm but I think epic did that with fortnite didn't they and then no one used it and no one was paying that's right yeah because they wrote a big article about how the Google Play store added no value and then off back to it yeah exactly but so I don't know it's going to be interesting because I don't know that they'll win this like legally they I don't think they'll win I mean I'm not a lawyer but it seems like they doing it to win or are they just doing it to protest exactly the rules I mean I I can't see how a judge would say no apple you've got to change the rules like how you can't make them do that it's their [ __ ] platform yeah but but it does

draw attention to it so like it's weird for the 30% I can actually see but it should be I can understand where com I should be to a point yeah well the other argument that I heard on which was really interesting is Right Xbox or Microsoft and Sony also charge 30% the difference is they do stuff for you right so epic make or made Gears of War and obviously I think Microsoft bought it off them but before that before that Microsoft was like [ __ ] yeah let's get Gears of War in front of people let's do branded consoles with all this kind of stuff like you get something out of a lot of Indie developers who basically they work very closely with Microsoft to get their stuff out like Microsoft helped them to go look you don't want to launch your game here you'd be better

off suited to this window and help them get their game out yeah yeah so clearly since people aren't protesting epic's not pulling their games off [ __ ] consoles there's a there's a value they're getting there that they're not getting from Apple and yeah I think that's probably I can't say thatle like I don't have an apple or anything but Apple don't advertise stuff you people advertise on apps on Apple they do have they have like a feat thing in the App Store but it's not very good like they'll have like once a week they'll be like this is the featured game it's not like it's not like on the Xbox where you have like the banners and the you know the Branded stuff and Major Nelson telling me what to buy yeah Larry Nelson he brought me these headphones

well actually he told me to buy these headphones for myself and I did it's a slight distinction there yeah it' be nice if you brought reimburse you what are they uh uh steel series all are we endorsing them or not I like them they work all right I think that's about as close as we get to an endorsement on this show yeah if they want to give us some more free stuff I'll I'll say more about them this is what you get for nothing they're good you should buy them which has 30% yeah but don't send Luke anything for free he's already got them send them to mat or me who don't have them exactly this is still what I with think I don't like getting stuff for free no I don't either I feel weird about you see all those influencers out there who contact

and go hey I'll come and I'll stay at your hotel and you for free and then I'll tell my followers to go or go to a restaurant I have IND the shudos go hey have our game I don't I want to play it but I want it but I want to give you as well well that and I'm like you guys are nuts I feel like there's a there's a I know there's not because that's not how it works but there's a kind of a implied like you yeah you will speak positively about this because I'm going to give it to you and I hate that like I I I will I that's so I always say like if if we're going to get a you know we get a game code it does happen or you know we've been offered like podcasting stuff before and I actually turn that down because I'm like no we have the

stuff we need and we're good cuz I don't want to have to say nice things about a thing I don't like yeah if you don't like it yeah yeah so I just don't I just don't do it I heard um what if or I tell them that I'm going to be honest and if they're not okay with that don't give it to me what I've actually started doing with uh game codes when I get them sometimes is I'll just give away a copy of the game yeah well we have to be careful with that so I will you have why because if if it's it's not that's not what those codes are for necessarily you can only no no no no no I I I I have the code I play the game and then I gift the game oh no but I'm saying so like I actually pay my money oh right okay yeah yeah like if you get given a code by a developer you can't give that to no the

general public I use that code for me but then I've given I've given away codes on Steam like I'll gift the game on Steam and I gift the game on Xbox to go hey here's this right I wish I loved anything as much as Luke loves buying games he's already bought well it's with the ones like that is I want to support them as well yeah yeah and that's always been my thing like I've never liked the whole trading things with games because the only people who made money out of that were like EB Games and game and all those things the developers and Publishers got nothing out of it and I never like that but now those stores don't about supporting them no no you just buy used games on Amazon where you buy everything else I haven't bought a used game in a

very long time no I don't think I have either but all my games digital now mhm yeah and if Microsoft hadn't got their way all those years ago I'd be able to sell or give those games away now but the internet lost their [ __ ] Matt and I just be able to play them yep yep yep no dramas yeah hey speaking about the internet losing their [ __ ] and ruining things uh just this could go anywhere it could right no it's it's I've just been thinking about Justice League right again this week because all right you know I mean Justice League was a movie no one liked it and then toxic fandom pretty much forced Warner Brothers to have to another $30 million into uh doing you know which is probably also not going to be good well here's the

thing for some reason I allowed myself a couple of weeks back to start getting excited about it um and I'm no longer excited about it for two reasons number one I saw the trailer and we talked about this last week it's a pretty underwhelming trailer it's very slow it's not just that and you know what I realize I don't like CGI environments CGI is not the problem people say there's too much CGI in movies no no no CGI is great CGI environment how you use it yeah like if I'm just looking at just some big [ __ ] impossible to imagine volcano Universe I just don't give a [ __ ] I'm not making any connection to that like if I'm looking at New York City and

there's a Hulk I know the Hulk is CGI but that's fine I recognize New York City right so that was the first thing saw the trailer the second thing is this week I rewatched Man of Steel and Batman versus Superman really I still have not seen that they're so bad yeah and I want them to be like my desire for these movies to be good is so strong that I've gone back a couple of times now and each time I'm they're worse than I remember they discussed the um the the the SN cut on my brother my brother and me and Griffin has not seen any of the movies and he said to Justin you've got five you got 10 seconds to explain what this SN cut is and he said this is his explanation is people think a filmmaker who hasn't made a good film since Dawn

of the Dead accidentally made a good film and now they're demanding that the production company release it that's fantastic like the problem with Justice League wasn't that it wasn't long enough or dark enough yeah well the point of the trailer I think the reason the trailer didn't do anything for us is I think the point of that trailer was to show these is this is stuff that wasn't in the other movie I just don't remember the other movie cuz no cuz I've only seen that one time cuz I was not interested in watching it again right I did not want to give them any more money for that movie so I just couldn't tell I'm watching this very slow trailer with a bunch of it's oh this is the Justice League movie I watched this already yeah I've seen this it was tell REM what the

Justice League movie was I honestly do not remember in what sense the plot the Ste steepen wolf no that was bat Envy Superman steephen wolf wants a c Cube yeah and they've got to stop him from getting the cube the mother box is that what it's called it's got a weird name yes yeah Mother Box yeah but don't go to motherbox do.com that's something different mother's box.com um but yeah I I just if what Snider had done was good they would have released that a long time ago and that would have been it is complicated because you've got the situation where his daughter committed suicide so he couldn't finish the film and then they already were worried about it because Batman v Superman people were like it's too dark

and like not good so I think they got scared they got scared and they just changed the whole mie finished yeah I think it's more that from what I know from like insiders talking to like variety magazine is that he had finished his version he had handed it in in it was described by three separate Executives as unwatchable and they sacked him and they just didn't an and and they hired Jos Weeden to go and re-shoot half of it and this all happened before the and then when that happened they said this might be a good opportunity for you to announce your stepping this is your out that's a [ __ ] horrible conversation that was a really poor choice of words I just I know you this you probably been upset but this might look on the bright side this might be

forus yeah your daughter has really done you a solid every cloud is a silver lining yeah we can now announce your failure without announcing your complete failure yeah it will now seem like your daughter failed at life and you certainly failed her as a father but what you didn't fail was making this movie Jos Weeden will fail for you now we'll all know that you failed but but the audience may not you'll know and I'll know your daughter will never know and that's a blessing that's a blessing in itself she'll never see this garbage what happens now when they release this 4-Hour super cut SN movie thing and the internet doesn't like that either mhm the internet's not going to like it I

can't wait for that have you seen the um I think the internet is going to like it which is going to be terrible Maybe yeah you're right yeah it it could go either way I hope they don't like it because if they like it then the internet will go complaining and bitching and doing this works imagine the balls on him though right imagine the balls on Zack Snider right after everything that happened and people were [ __ ] on people didn't like Man of Steel people didn't like Batman vers Superman and he's like no this one's good and then he's so they're like we saw it it wasn't good he had an out out he was making another movie and he his career was fine he was going on

he was like no the last one was good and I will [ __ ] prove it to you yeah it give me 4 hours and I will show you how good it is every 4 hours and millions and millions more dollars $20 million I do like the fact though I don't have to watch a 4H hour movie though I can watch four 1 hour episodes back to back so you can if you watch the first one and then be like nah [ __ ] it I don't feel watch there's also that possibility as well yeah they giving us an out too mhm I look I'm excited uh to not have to look at an artificial lip on Henry caval so bad that thing was just hideous that was just so bad that was embarrassing aot was embarrassing I was thinking about Superman right cuz I love Superman

growing up the Superman was was great I really did and but the thing is if you read early Superman comics he wasn't I mean Superman's kind of known as the guy who just has everyone else's powers and then some but he wasn't always that way right no faster than a speeding bullet okay he's very fast he's not used able to fly you should be able to jump high yeah able to LEAP tall buildings in a single bound I mean that's really impressive but what he can't do is just [ __ ] fly more powerful than a locomotive that's a train he can [ __ ] if if he was hit by a train he'd probably survived that anything more also a locomotive to meet is a steam train diesel or electric not a not a new

fangled electric train but like he he can't fight a planet like he did in [ __ ] Superman Returns you know like it's just that he doesn't get all that hurt if he gets hit by a train but the thing that something about this I love that he might show he'd be like Superman we've put together a bit of a bit of a test for you you get there and there like a tangar and he's like no I should a locomotive yeah yeah not fting this then I'll let you finish but I can explain why okay okay no no no I I've got something else but it's only semi- related so you you can you can CH in now the reason why he has gotten stronger now than he was back then is because he's in the sun's Rays so he keeps getting getting stronger and stronger and stronger more he's in it not in so

when he was a small child he had the strength of a man but as he grew up to a man he got locomotive strength of a real so now he can yeah when he's old he'll be yeah but he has the powers instantly in in the in the films not instantly I haven't seen the films I've only seen the 70s Superman mov me and then Justice League you say chares up he does slowly ramp up to it they don't even notice that he has powers until he's like five or six and he lifts a car K yeah um the other thing that's always kind of baffled me about Superman cuz the super strength as as well is like obviously that's his thing right and his costume is based on a Carnival strong Man's costume like that's why he's dressed like that and that's just kind of become the no it's Kryptonian armor

Dan sorry stop there no it's not no it's not that would kill him but what I Kryptonite not Kryptonite Kryptonian the the start of all the old Superman animated shows liveaction shows and I think even the the first film they don't do it anymore is that look up in the sky it's a bird it's a plane mhm then someone else chimes in and goes no it's Superman why was that first person saying look up in the sky a bird it's a bird why is the second person going into a plane no I can understand the second person no you really it's a play yeah and then a third person going well actually it's way more interesting than anything that you guys were talking about yeah good point it's literally a flying human being from another planet yeah but thanks for pointing it out I

died recently did we give him geek of the week the the oh like just the Google pixel or the the screen pixel the the pixel the pixel oh okay yeah that little dot I think we did I think we did discuss it maybe we have one this week we do but somebody else died this week that I was going to nominate and then took it back because an actual geek had died well you know yeah no I know what you mean well this I mean obviously he knew this was coming but [ __ ] I this came out of nowhere for seemingly most of the internet Chadwick Bosman died the Black Panther yeah of of cancer you can just say panther there's no need to bring race into this he died of colon cancer what's what's sort of crazy about this is It's

not like this was new he was diagnosed 4 years ago and kept working releasing all these great movies he would have been going through hell yeah he's been [ __ ] just pushing through it all and then not said anything clearly and cuz there was people talking about how uh there was this theory on Reddit that he was looking like he was grumpy at some awards ceremony they're like oh I bet he's he's a knob Well turns out no not that that's not why prob just quite sick in a lot of pain wow [ __ ] hell yeah you know that they're saying that about Robin Williams have you guys heard this what it's a documentary com out that's saying yeah he actually hadera brain disease that was

actually uh causing him to be his dreams would become real he yeah he was behaving very strangely towards the end and they think that the suicide was part of that I mean maybe not because I believe he was also depressed and people are just so quick to want to find a tangible reason why somebody might die by Suicide someone's so successful why would why what's the problem like but no evidently he Rob Williams had a disease that like it's incurable that affects your brain and they actually found it out and that yeah that's what they think was the reason behind it h well yeah that's a bummer and I don't want that disease no nor nor do you want colon cancer definitely not Chadwick Boseman had don't want either of those unbelievable it it was the creator of

Scooby-Doo who died this week too oh a honorable mention yep Scooby Dooby died we could have Geeks of the week can we we don't want Geeks for the week no no ideally but we can have them I think the guy who made Scooby-Doo makes the cut yeah Scooby-Doo man anyway his name is Joe Ruby how long ago did he make Scooby-Do he have been a bit racist we should probably check he might get canceled soon we should probably everyone from the past was racist do we know yes I saw uh oh I I saw somebody had posted an essay this week saying please don't cancel R do um I think isn't it too late for that because uh there you know there I didn't read much

of it to be honest but yeah it is too late for that and and that's why and he got cancelled um didn't he I thought wasn't there R already rolled baggy or skeletons or something yeah I don't remember I mean he's been long dead but it it's certainly it's certainly very well known that he was uh quite abusive yeah okay that's what I thought yeah yeah what the I'm just looking at the pictures and I I don't understand what people are upset about are you talking about so you're referring to The Mug right so um there's uh there's a roll doll mug uh in related roll doll news that uh sabes have had to pull from sale I mean because I do see what the problem is but also yeah yeah but but it's also not a problem because of a thing called

context yeah that's the problem is it doesn't have the context so yeah but but I mean getting hit by an idea is is an idiom so the the mug says a brilliant idea hit her and it's got a picture of Matilda having a brilliant idea and they're imagining a comma yes they're imagining a comma after idea yes that's right so people are thinking that uh this R doll mug is telling you that hitting women is a brilliant idea um which is not what it says no I mean I agree that you shouldn't and that it's not a good idea but that really isn't what this says yes but but it doesn't matter this mug is hugely problematic is it you think people you yeah I don't know this like last week where we were talking about the

Jaguar ad that had a little girl in it and everyone's like that is sexual I think the take it down and everyone's like whoa whoa why you find this sexual the worst thing that can happen with this mug is that somebody looks at it and goes does that mug say it's a brilliant idea to hit women I don't think somebody's going to be walking through the the store see the mug and go that is a good idea yeah yeah like I don't understand how you jump to that like and then also if you spend a minute thinking about it you go a brilliant idea hitter oh I get it like you don't even need a minute you need like a second yeah yeah you just need a command of the English language to know that getting hit by an idea is kind of an oldfashioned way yeah you get you get an

idea yeah this is I think people are just looking for [ __ ] to be annoyed about to be honest this Mug's fine it's fine oh man also it's got a picture of Matilda are they saying like don't hit this little girl this fictitious little girl yeah I guess yeah I'm I'm I'm just so confused like what do they think they think this is encouraging people to do it like a bunch of abusive people are going to go out and be like have you seen this great mug I got let's all sit around and talk about how brilliant it is so weird you know Will Anderson the Aussie comedian I do I do TV host yeah um I heard his bit that he was doing once where he was saying that um the the census uh went through his show before he did his his live event that was going

to be televised and uh crossed out the things he wasn't allowed to say on TV right and he's got this whole big uh spiel about doing cocaine right and um they're like this is okay but you have to remove the word snorting and he was like why that specifically and they're like you can talk about having cocaine you can talk about taking cocaine you can talk about doing cocaine but the second tell people how how to ingest it yeah right now it's instructional and you can't say it and he was like do you think there's a bunch of kids out there watching this with huge piles of cocaine and going [ __ ] me I will I knew how to put this inside me well that's like that uh what were we

talking about the [ __ ] Hasbro thing what was that about where it couldn't be reproducible Vance video games Night Trap night night trap yeah yeah they have to come up with an elaborate scheme it's got to be something kid so you can't have someone stabbing someone with a knife cuz like well kids might look at that and go oh that's a good idea but if it's this elaborate machine then it's like they're not going to they're not going to build a torture device it's fine yeah which cuz I finished watching sh out episode that torture device is so scary bizar it's a lot worse than what a vampire would have been game turned out so weird all just because of that and then they backed out anyway Hasbro backed out so weird yep oh yeah did you watch that yet Dan No in fact I forgot

what it was called when I went to look for what is it called high score I think isn't it um did I make that up high yeah high schore high score high score it's good but it's also um not okay so I finished I watched it all and I I really did enjoy it and I think it's something we need to look at our video game history a lot closer cuz there's really interesting stuff there reason why I also didn't like it was some of the funny things that they tried to push in I don't know just were a bit weird like what it's always a bit weird watching nuanced things that we know a little bit about that are kind of repackaged for a mainstream audience yeah just some the cartoon things they put in like when they were yeah I just thought was a bit strange and I don't

think needed the episode about ID I did find it I find it really interesting but also I thought it was odd that they only had Romero on and not or you know to or any of the others anybody else who'd been there just because Romero is a is such a strong character that which is probably why they had him but also I mean if you're going for accuracy he's not the one I would choose like not that I think up and yep I'll be there ex not that I think yeah exactly not that I think he he's making [ __ ] up but just because he's very like he's a character like I don't think he's going to give you he's going to give you a story he's not going to give you the historical and that's the thing I'm talking about in that episode where

they got like the cartoons of them drinking drinks and being on the computer like I I don't need that in the documentary yeah but I guess the really this documentary is not for us it's like that's what I mean they should make it for us it's too broad it's too broad like I really enjoyed it but it is very it's like they explain things that I mean I don't need explained but that's fine CU it's not necessarily for me it's for people who don't know about this stuff like the ID one I know all that stuff but it was still interesting to see him talk about it well you can go and watch that 4-Hour documentary that that dude made about how much he hates Billy Mitchell that he put on online for free I might watch you know I watched it you should read masters of if you're

interested in the um history of ID as a fantastic book about there were a couple of really interesting episodes in that like about the the the creation of the cartridge and things like that like yeah and that's one of the ones that makes me really think that I wish I knew more about video game history cuz it's actually quite interesting that it wasn't Nintendo that came out with the cartridge first it was someone else making pretty much pong on cartridge something interesting I learned this week there was a big uh we didn't talk about it but there was a big Nintendo leak where a bunch of just stuff leaked from like leaked everywhere like old archival stuff like character models from old games source code and it's I don't know where this came from I Didn't

haven't looked that much into it I just heard listen to a podcast about it the other day but one of the things that was interesting is that clearly Nintendo archives everything they just have all of this stuff cuz someone got it from somewhere at Nintendo I don't know was an employee or what it was I have no idea but yeah and so it's and then they were talking about how one of the problems with the games industry is that nobody kept anything like there are games that are just lost like it actually there's that one in the um in the in the documentary about the what's it called the the LGBT Q game that he made and it's he doesn't even have TR down but yeah he he moved and lost all the copies of the game and and now it's become this historical artifact and he doesn't the guy who made

it doesn't even have a copy of it like and that's why there is the video game sort of Library Museum I forget what it is in Australia they're trying to collect a lot yeah I mean I'm sure preserve these games is that part of the uh the center for the moving image is it that the Acme Australian center of the moving image I think that cuz they have a they have something called project joystick which is their like game division yeah that they want to try and hold on to a lot of this stuff that yeah it's very easy to lose yeah yeah which is not hard especially since back in the day too like I mean some of the games that we used to play on I mean maybe maybe not once you get to Nintendo level but certainly Atari and all of those like like you the shop you bought the

game from might have been like the dude who [ __ ] made the game right like the you know at a certain point like and the old c64 games like right well even a lot of the shareware stuff the stuff that was basically people made they sent out on discs and you got a share where copy of the game there's a game Factory I think it was where I had you made like hot dogs and hamburgers and stuff like I love this game I canot find this game anywhere cuz you love hot dogs go mad for them I like hot dogs until I throw [Laughter] up but no this game I cannot find a copy anywhere and I would like to go back and play see if I can find well I mean they'll remake it now that we've mentioned it on

the podast and and on that note I'd like to request the game too Gog specifically I want you to um I want you to release Frankenstein Through The Eyes of the monster oh have a copy of that on dis somewhere yeah I got a copy of I've got the dis image too but uh I got nothing to run it on yeah and uh I I want to play it again because it was great it was super atmospheric and it starred Tim Curry yep yeah right you play as the monster and you wake up on the slab with like Frankenstein cackling over you and you're like well [ __ ] the [ __ ] am I yeah and how do I get out of this maniac's Castle then go down the segments yeah I found some abandoned wear sites where you can download it but just not in it won't run yeah it won't run has been set up to work on Modern

Windows 10 oh okay okay okay I'm not saying it will I don't know but I no you just said you just said you have set this game up yeah I okay I will report back next week and I will let you know yep I got a quarantine coming up all right it's still got Tim Curry's voice like it's me to be there it's full motion video back when a game was 3 87 Meg oh it's not free though is it not well that's actually a good thing though is it yes [ __ ] site won't even load see free yeah I think having to pay for something there's higher chance that there's work that's got into it that would make it work actually it's not the
