Unrememberable: Zack Snyder's Justice League & Mars Rover Landing

so I'm finally worked out I have to do something I'm not looking forward to and that's to sit down and watch Justice League again welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy you have to well I want to watch the in to remember what the movie is cuz I don't remember that movie I think I keep getting mixed up with Batman v Superman in my head yeah another great classic film yeah but I want to watch it before the SN cut comes out so I can compare you're worried you might get the wrong idea

about the SN cut based on your faulty memory of the previous [ __ ] one yeah are you worried you'll like it too much or you won't like it enough no I the reason why I do want to watch both and compare is I don't cuz it's going to be this thing where everyone's going to come out and say the Snider cut is great all this I still don't think that's going to be a good movie I'm not sure everyone is going to say that I don't think you have to watch another bad movie to ascertain whether this one's good or bad I don't think uh I don't think you know the problem Zack Snider's had in the past is that people said his DC movies were too good you know what he's doing next Army of dead yeah he's got that zombie one that's kind of done he's doing you know what he's doing after that I do I forgot

chicks King Arthur that's right yeah like a historically accurate King Arthur yeah which is weird cuz is there a historically accurate King Arthur that we know no and plus they've tried pretty much every I mean there was that Clive Owen one that's tried to be like what if he was a Roman general during the Dark Ages what if he was a [ __ ] yeah well I I think that's uh guy Richie's one right yeah that's right what if King Arthur was a [ __ ] withit living on the Streets of London that was not a good movie in my opinion you know you know no it was awful they've all they're all awful I don't I still don't think there's been a good one even Excalibur is you know 4 hours too long I was going to say i' I've not seen it in a long time but I was about to go oh come on Danny but I

haven't seen it since 20 years it's very hard to get through so the stones probably the best one the cartoon yeah the cartoon yeah all right I watched one of those are they foxes you know no no it's just people just human beings oh that's right it's a young blonde kid yeah yeah yep I watched one of those Looper videos 10 top 10 reasons oh all the King Arthur movies fail and it was like number 10 no one gives a [ __ ] about King Arthur like yeah just stop there number one yeah they to the chase yeah that's right so you want to rewatch Jos Sweden's Justice League I love that

that's what it's called now yeah you want to watch still I don't want to I'm going to just so I can remember what movie that is cuz that movie is so unremember it's it's ridiculous unremember is night tile of this episod absolutely but you're right it's absolutely forgettable Batman V super is as well which is why you that's the word forgettable sorry go are you started with un the the thing is though when I watch the trailer for it and I see all those fully SI characters standing in fully CG environments I think yeah [ __ ] don't like this right but I rewatched both the latest Avengers movies in the last couple of days uh yeah Infinity war and endgame and they

are a lot of that is fully CG characters in fully CG environments and it's still great so it's not that it's not that I think I mean look my my my issue with Snider's ones is just that the it's so mind-numbing like it's just too much like everything [ __ ] is exploding and they're like hitting each other with with buildings and I just can't care about any of it because like I don't know when I should be worried that anybody's in danger cuz they're just m it's just no context for anything anymore it's just like oh [ __ ] this is falling over and the world's [ __ ] exploding and the whole half the city's gone it's just like I don't know when I should care about anything that's why the best DC movie is Joker because he doesn't hit anyone with

anything he's just [ __ ] lunatic about to explode he's putting his fingers in people's mouths you know and it's not set in space and all over the world it's set in one city block in Brooklyn yeah like it they went down cuz they're trying to make the DC are trying to be like serious and you can't be serious with a comic book it just doesn't work whereas Joker yeah they were they were serious but they made it real like they made it but I think Nolan probably did that serious but book kind of heed himself he he limited himself to Batman which I think the one of the I feel like the DC characters they don't work together as well as as as the Marvel ones just because you've got Superman Superman just [ __ ] does

everything Superman's better than everyone at everything like yeah and then what's Batman doing there it's [ __ ] guy in a suit which Iron Man's a guy in a suit but his suit is more powerful than Batman's suit so it kind of Batman it's literally just a suit Iron Man's suit at least is a superhero yeah yeah so I know it's I mean Batman's suit still gets worn in the future in the desert with a trench coat over it so yeah there's obviously some going on with that suit we get to see more of that we might get to find out yeah we get to see more of that we have to watch it on binge in Australia yeah sorry guys apparently you're watching it on binge look at least we are getting it on streaming cuz I really was worried we'd

have to go to the cinema for this yeah now do we know is it just going to be one 4H hour movie or is it being broken up into those four segments discussed a while ago just a movie yeah they've they've mentioned gone back and forth on that I think either that or the media's just reported it incorrectly several times which is also possible but it's just a movie now apparently 4 hours of that is binge going to be able to support a 4-Hour film from what I from what I've heard not a full res the whole way if if if history has anything to say about it might need to stop and have a little bit of a breather halfway through and that'll be fine don't do that Luke don't do that Luke it will not remember where you were up to nope once again this epode brought to you by binge I um

it kind of sucks for not getting the hour long episodes cuz now I'm going to have to not remember where I am when I go to the toilet when I want a break from watching it Martha out of context it sounds like Luke's just an old man no this is not the I'm not going to know where I am Luke this is not the Martha one she might make an appearance though I hope so does she this is with the hot the hot Martha hot Martha 4 hours it got to have some some stuff in it I reckon Martha will make an appearance action Diane Lane oh Dian Lane okay I mean she may be elderly but she's still smoking hot man all right who's which Martha is I'm trying to remember we don't even meet Batman's mom do we Matt she's dead no we you know nothing about

Batman she was in Batman vers Superman briefly for that scene that every [ __ ] Batman they're all hot okay Martha's are just hot that's what it was it's not that there was their moms did you say Martha I [ __ ] love Mar and they're all like [ __ ] Freud and edus complex like Fu just I didn't have a mom called Martha cuz all Martha are hot including my mom that's the delet kind of scenes that Zack Snider's putting back into this movie those kind of discussions I uh I saw this article about it's it's they touch on a couple things but one thing that made me laugh was that um Zack Snider's wife was in interview interviewed and she said one of the major problems they had with Batman vers Superman the reason people didn't like

it is cuz the me media uh was was was mean to it they said that they focused on the fact that they focused on the fact it was too dark and she was like too dark compared to what and she thinks it's just cuz movie said aren't dark actually I I agree with her I think it was the media that was what was wrong with Batman v Superman in particular it was a piece of media compet called the movie yeah I just I just was like oh man I it it makes me I feel bad for people when they do stuff like that like no no no I promise you I didn't read anything about this movie until hat all on my own yeah yeah and it's there are times when the media might tell me this is a terrible movie or show and I still like it cuz I'm to have my opinion could not

care less what the media thinks I was really excited to see this movie also stop saying the media like it's one [ __ ] group of people with like one like hive mind that only has one opinion cuz that is seldom how the media works the other thing is I sat in Batman v Superman and and for the first like 10 15 minutes I was like no matter how bad this movie is I will still love it because it's Batman and Superman my two favorite childhood Heroes on screen for the first time I'm going to love it and even with that I still couldn't enjoy it because it's [ __ ] garbage movie should have ended about four times but it went for another hour and look to be fair the media Maybe focusing on a small sentence she said and maybe she's not as silly as as this

makes a sound um well as part of the media I think we should also focus on that small sentence and um's wife you're canceled they' zeroed on this quote from her she may have said quite a lot more uh that it's just not part of this article so is there a dot dot dot after it was she like oh the media said it was too dark dot dot dot and also it wasn't a very good movie and yeah and also there was some other creative decisions my husband made that made it a bit [ __ ] well and then the in the in the same article they talk about Zack Snider is talking about how he thinks that the Martha thing was the kind of the the Crux of the whole movie that was his really his his favorite idea in Batman vers Superman was just the idea that that they both love their moms I think

that was clear I think it was clear that he thought was really good idea you could have that without having the like why did you why did you say that name it's so interesting to have him go no no that's the best bit I can't remember but why did one of them say the word Martha I mean if I ever talk about my mom I don't call her by her first name because wasn't he was trying to get her to she he knew he she was in danger they kidnapped Superman's mom and then he Batman was going to kill him and he was just trying to say just don't kill me after I save my mom but then all it came out was like oh no save Martha Martha cuz I called my mom by her first name that's what I mean I mean what he was trying to say my mom but just all that came out with m m like

is this is likeor then also like what does your mother's having the same name have to do with I'm going to not kill you anymore I know I'm going to look at what Hitler's mom's name was m just for reference yeah Hitler's mom's name claraa if anyone wants to know yeah so anyone got a m named CLA and you go back in time to murder Hitler don't do it because he will talk you out of it sink of Clara Batman versus Superman versus Hitler it's fight night yeah uh I watched a movie on a bad streaming service this week you have a bad streaming service over there yeah I well I don't know it's it may not be the

streaming service itself there was obviously some kind of weirding compatibility going on uh I watched a movie on something called filmrise which film rise yeah I'd never heard of it that one we were trying to watch a classic film that we realized has terrible reviews and it's a film that I didn't realize was considered a bad film cuz I hadn't seen it since I was a teenager and I seen it the movies and uh and really liking it that's American Werewolf in Paris wait can I guess can I guess before you even say it I already said it if you didn't sorry and I talked I talked over you so that wasn't going to be what I was going to guess oh really what were you going to guess I I I thought you were going to say Mortal

Kombat oh no because there's a new Mortal Combat movie out and I have very fond memories of the old Mortal Kombat movie but I have recently learned that it is considered a very bad movie by most people oh I knew that at the time but I still enjoyed it no at the time I thought it was legit good yeah well it was I think it's a similar with with this film right it's this is a very '90s movie and mor combat's the same I think there's probably a whole bunch of them but we rewatched American Werewolf in Paris uh it's you know it came out in 97 uh we probably all saw it at the movies I really like saw it at the movies re on a rewatch I still really like it because it's it's it's like kind of like uh kind Hardly Wait in a way where it's it's I don't even notice the floss I I can tell

they're there but it's just it's a '90s feeling movie it's got all these old '90s music in it it's it's ridiculous um it takes you back yeah it's got a 7% on Rotten Tomatoes oh which is very low 7% 7% I mean look it's not a great movie it's not the best movie but I don't know I like it still but we watch got 5.1 out of 10 on IMDb which I mean that's not a good score but I mean that's considerably better than Rotten Tomatoes yeah yeah and look it's it's got very very CGI werewolves that they show way too much you know especially compared to the the first film well that's the thing it it I mean is this supposed to be a sequel to American Werewolf in London because it's got nothing to do with it

really so I'm not sure do they make any any links to the old I don't think so I don't think so I think the link is just that it's Americans in a foreign country and there's a werewolf and there's a werewolf yeah um the werewolves don't look I don't think I've ever seen the same the werewolves actually look weird in this I don't like the look of the werewolves that's that is one thing I don't like about it oh I'm looking at it now they look very odd kind of piggy uh I don't know if that's a result of the the bad CGI at time like and like I said they just show them way too often they don't look good enough to Warrant it they should have you know like in Jaws yeah oh American Werewolf in London as well they wanted to show the werewolf

more in American Werewolf in London but it looked [ __ ] so they didn't and it actually works better and yeah I guess Jaws is same same same theory is just because you can doesn't mean you should it's better well imagine what Jaws would actually be if they actually did go with what they were planning to do if they didn't have all those problems with the shark when they're filming yeah he'd be all through it but it wouldn't be a good movie no it's it using your imagination or sorry letting the audience use their imagination I should say is uh I think more effective that's cve bar just as long as you end it and don't let us have to imagine after the movie in Luke's case I don't mind so much but filmrise uh so I was trying to find this movie and I couldn't find it

anywhere like it's not um for sale anywhere in this country like I can't I can't buy it on iTunes or any which is weird to me but uh so I did a search on my Apple TV and it came up and it's like you can watch it in uh on Prime with with ads and it wouldn't work it just kept coming up with an error and then it said all right well you can watch it on filmrise which I guess is just some other streaming service I don't know a whole lot about it but it was free but as you mentioned before at one point I paused it and then it just [ __ ] itself so that that wasn't great and then it had ads but the ads I think because the the aspect ratio or or or resolution of the ads was different from the actual film Myer freaked out and the screen would

just go black during the ads oh but if you just waited the film would come back after the ads you just that's kind of better though I'd rather just a blank screen than ads to be honest yeah it was just very strange I'm sort of having that same issue cuz there's a movie I really want to watch I haven't seen it in years but I can't find it anywhere but it's also hard to search for why it's a German movie called girls on top oh and so when you typing in German girls on top you want safe search on oh no you don't you do not girls on top girls on top two I don't know three young women resort to Desperate Measures to achieve their

first orgasm Luke is this it that is it and I don't know it's just a fun movie yeah okay but it's not dirty it's just it's a little bit dirty you've just heard the synopsis it's a little bit dirty I mean the German of this is mud mudin mudin which is just girls girls girls mhm Munch Munch munchin muff muff muff it's good movie sequel not as good the but the first one I like the sequel's not as good SE three friends try to find a cheap apartment in Munich I mean that sounds less titillating I want is called munchin same cast though yep that's German for Munich that's a very bad joke actually now remember the sequel's actually kind of good too but yeah I cannot find it

square mode wait are you serious deadly serious I just assumed something funny was going on with my my screen cuz that happens from time to time and I assume it was just something like a style choice for the trailer for some reason like social media yeah the movies in 43 the reason being the reason being is that he shot some of it on IMAX which is yeah you know square tall screen and he was like I like this better [ __ ] it whole movies like that so they've had to reformat uh you know most of the shots to fit the square ratio the fu yeah I know right and he he also said whenever Superman's not flying in which case he he is horizontal then superheroes are vertical characters I I don't know which human beings aren't but uh so the ones in

girls on top that the [ __ ] balls on Zack Snider to like to be to to get fired from from the Ser I know yeah extenuating circumstances with his daughter and all that kind of stuff but he got fired from the whole DC thing and the F not even all the fans just a bunch of the fans were like bring him back bring him back and he was like yeah I'll come back but I'm going to need another [ __ ] whatever ended up being $20 million and I'm going to do it in 43 which is just going to piss everybody off there going to be black bars on everybody's expensive [ __ ] screens now yeah that's right here's a question do you think that any movies now will be made for IMAX anymore since it's a good question people AR going to go anymore I

re Christopher Nolan will do it because he [ __ ] loves that [ __ ] I know he loves it but if it's not going to be seen in that format he doesn't give a [ __ ] I watched the thing about his audio mixes and how he basically not basically he literally [ __ ] said I don't care about cheap theaters and people's home setups I make my films to be watched in the ultimate theaters ultimate viewing experience and if you can't hear the audio in your shitty theater well I don't really give a [ __ ] pay more money wow great y sure and he didn't say it like that but he said that but IEX yeah yeah exactly he said I'm I I do the audio mix for the best theaters and that's it like that scene in um tenet where you couldn't hear what they were saying when

they were out in the [ __ ] yacht things mhm yeah if you if you were in a [ __ ] IMAX theater you would have heard it right but yeah and um uh there was it was because he does the thing that made it weird is it was actually an interesting little video I watched about it uh in in tenant there are bits where you don't hear what people are saying but it's intentional like when they're doing the tour of the facility mhm and the the [ __ ] music gets cranked right up over the guy starts talking and then it kind of Fades him out the music cranks up cuz it's like okay it's not important what he's saying I just need to know that being but then other bits it's like you areed toar what say and then they're likeing explaining the pl and how the whole [ __ ] movie works but I've got a

mask on it's like yeah and the little it was like a little YouTube thing about like is it a failure on his part if I can't tell when I should or should not be able to understand what the [ __ ] people are saying I would say it is except that he does not give a [ __ ] and if you call him on it he will say I don't give a [ __ ] it's it's the same thing that when people commented on um Kill Bill to Tarantino and they were like we just couldn't watch your movie man it was just a series of homages and he was like yeah I didn't make it for you I just literally made it for myself put every cool thing I could think of into a movie and if you didn't like it that's fine cuz it wasn't for you I already got your money well and I think with Interstellar they actually quite

similar to Last Jedi you know where they had that little notice put up that said you know it's supposed to be like that with the Last Jedi with the explosion they said I'll ghost quiet supposed to with Interstellar there was a thing put up that said um yeah we know you can't hear him talking the bit spoilers for Interstellar I guess you know the bit where they're about to they're being sucked into the black hole any jettison stuff you know what I'm talking about yeah there's a conversation they're having you can't really make it out and then they had to put a notice up and say yeah we know Christopher Nolan knows he doesn't care don't complain to us rise straight to him yeah yeah as thought there would have been people that would have come out of that and then asked for

their money back cuz people actually still do that oh I know yeah I've consider yeah didn't like it give me my money back it's not how this works no unless there was like an actual well I think that's the reason this the the the theater put up the thing was like no no no we didn't [ __ ] up that's the movie this is yeah so yeah your money back go talk to them take it out with him speaking of The Last Jedi Ryan this week in an interview has said his trilogy still coming and I know what Luke's gonna say have Disney said this no is anyone else saying this no just him in fact when I saw this I saw this article and I was like oh

confirmation and I went in there and it was it literally just Ryan Johnson saying it again like I mean he might still be writing it I believe that yeah oh I don't care I just think this is funny at this point is that like they've put out the [ __ ] slate of everything that's coming he's not on it but he's like n no it's coming we're still doing it yeah there's not even like a Trilogy of movies in in the things that announced that you could go or maybe he's working on that there's just nothing nothing nothing and they've been pretty clear what's coming out yeah yeah have you the buzz online though is that they're going to rcon the sequel trilogy and there's some kind of some kind of

plot Point involving time travel or multiple Dimensions or something in the cartoons that we obviously don't know about that people are speculating is going to be the device used to basically remove those three films from Canon there was also what a rumor going around that like when Ry was looking through you remember there was mirrors that she could see through so that was also could have led to this one reality it could have been in the Star Wars Cinematic Universe one of those realities was where these secret trilogies were good films yeah which she wasn't a paltin I don't think they could Rec I think they just have to accept that you screwed up going backwards and that's why they're going to the future I mean to the past

and doing like the old Republican stuff yeah where they haven't wrecked everything yet yeah oh we we talked a few weeks ago about Mike from red letter media saying that he believes we never saw the real Palpatine yes and um evidently that has been confirmed really yes that's interesting yes so Senator Palpatine slthe Emperor yeah clone already a clone the real Palpatine is thousands of years old and we've never seen him okay that's just stupid yeah once again m is correct yep yeah the others begrudgingly uh they made a V video begrudgingly attributing him for getting that right that's good stuff I what he just

being a clone now is fine why why trying to that was that was not fine as well that was garbage as well oh be a we have to accept that cuz that's what it was just move on I agree with he he like the thing JJ Abrams said was he's been asked to come in and make the final book end on this on this series and the villain was [ __ ] Palpatine for the first six of them in a way right M he was always behind the scenes and so he was like well it's kind of got to be him at the end doesn't it like that's how do you book end it without like how do you book end it when [ __ ] every all the bad guys are dead like who who's the bad guy in in nine if it's not not Palpatine well I mean I hate to be that guy but it should have been snoke yeah but snoke was dead you're

right and it probably would have been if snoke hadn't been killed and so now he he was like [ __ ] I don't know man like baltin no you're right because they couldn't bring somebody new work this out no yeah you can't bring in a new Ultimate villain in the last one that's [ __ ] and they just say oh it's this big big guy here and now let's kill him like hell if you look at the series as a whole if you wanted to to like I said like bookend it with and make it like a a nice you know like a theme running through that kind of stuff he didn't have a whole lot of options they didn't leave him with much to to work with no definitely it was a mop-up job he was like you Matt just going around mopping up exactly but I hope they've sort of

learned now like maybe work this [ __ ] out before beforehand yeah I'm still baffled how they didn't do that baffling to me well they've got Kevin FY doing it now so I assume this will never happen again I mean they made a [ __ ] ton of money so yes they I doubt they care that much oh yeah the one that everyone hated made the most money I I don't have any desire to rewatch The Rise of Skywalker no and again I have not seen that since I saw it the movie I enjoyed it more at the time I enjoyed it more at the time but then it's similar I enjoyed Justice League more at the time than I did the ones before it but I'm not going I no desire to rewatch either of them to be honest but I did watch Force awakens uh

couple months ago oh yeah and that's still fun good movie agree and but I think the RIS skwalker that I think because of the last year I that's sort of why I sort of dropped out not go back and see it multiple times and stuff like that I think that's also L is also why R skwalker didn't do as well at the box office was because they're coming off a low so I I've watched The Last Jedi three times which doesn't sound like a lot of times to watch a movie but [ __ ] I really tried I watched it at the cinema I watched it again when I got home not not like straight away home I just mean like at home sure and uh I also watched a fan edit that had claimed to fix it by cutting out all the [ __ ] stuff but

actually when all the really [ __ ] stuff is out the rest of it still just only okay yeah I watched it twice I'm actually looking forward more to just give me the television shows now well you shall have them you'll have some of them they might have canel one now them out oh right wasn't one pretty much based all around Gina corano no I think it was based around those X-Wing Pilots but I think she was supposed to be in it well who knows I thought she was meant to be in the not the X-Wing one cuz that's that's a movie Rangers of the Republic be in the candle one the X-Wing one I'm talking about those two X-Wing Pilots that were in Mandalorian they had to show the Rangers of the new Republic or whatever it was ah yes I mean I'm sure they can make

that good but that doesn't sound good to me it doesn't sound like a good idea of all the things you could do oh I can see it where's the where's the spin-off series about the hot twins from The Cantina hot twins from the Cana Luke I know you know their names I used to know their names cannot remember anymore I have to go find my book Tales of a mly Cano in there yeah they get their own little Adventure don't they wink wink in German it's them trying to find an apartment to get their first orgasm it's called sisters on top yeah so Gina Coran has done an interview with Ben Shapiro this week I've not watched who's Ben Shapiro because I saw this guy don't know who Ben Shapiro is he's a conservative me like news guy he does like uh he's he's been on like Joe Rogan

a lot and um he he's like a yeah he's a oh yeah he looks like conservative pundit I did also hear about this interview and it's sort of confusing what I sort of read of it yeah she's I didn't watch it but I know that they talked about how Disney fired her for her posts and again that's not true they didn't fire her they just announced that she's not working for us anymore her contract ran out last year and then she's just they've just not hir her to do anything else like I don't know I guess I guess you could argue that's the same thing but I think like wording it as she made these tweets or or Instagram posts last week and then got fired it's just not

true Disney says it's not true I guess I don't she's she's not upset with Pascal about it I'm s of like well would got to do why would you be mad to do with it being in a show that is no longer on you can't just say you were fired I mean Mark Hamill didn't go around after [ __ ] Return of the Jedi G I've been fired no you didn't be fired you finished the movie yeah and well I guess the reason people saying okay cuz Mandalorian is continuing right but Disney were like oh no she's not going to be in it anymore but like was she going to be in it anyway she shouldn't have been in the second season anyway it was a waste of a character to have her return instead of riding somebody else into the show I know people talk about her as if she was like the [ __ ]

breakout star of the show like and I I mean obviously she has fans but but I mean really like well she's also saying that there was some kind of internal conspir to get her off the show even before she tweeted about her Holocaust denial and uh she's also kind of backpedal a little bit about her comment about the Jews do you want to hear do you want to hear her backpedal that's cuz benj Shapiro is Jewish probably is he now okay yeah well she she claimed that uh what she meant was that she was quote inspired by The Gentle Spirit of the Jewish people going through a tough time I look I am I feel like she probably I don't think she was denying the Holocaust or anything like that I

mean I doubt that she was doing that that's a pretty [ __ ] stupid thing to do right so she miscommunication yeah she just used a really bad metaphor yeah that is just in the nogo zone of things you're allowed to yeah like put on yourself for for self-pity but then also I don't know just seems like this whole thing's gotten overblown mhm well I mean she's fine she's got work coming up just don't worry about it she's fine right I read in this same article that Ben Shapiro is evidently funding her next project is he yeah that's interesting I I I guess he's he must be doing all right yeah well I guess it depends on

what her next project is maybe it's the remake of girls on top I wouldn't want her to be on the top she would be very heavy she's a solid woman oh yeah put her on the bottom she's the short blunt portion of the human pyramid you know yeah yeah I don't know I think she just probably should just chill out for a bit no that's not her plan M no all right no just just stop talking for a little bit just leave it for a bit you'll be fine you're making it worse speaking of TV shows somebody watched something that I also watched or at least watched part of and man I assume this is you because I wouldn't thought crime scene Vanishing at the Cecil hotel is something that

Luke would watch I watched a few episodes of that yeah I watched a few episodes too and then I said to myself you're really dragging out a 5 minute story into a whole series so I'm going to turn this off and uh just read [ __ ] Wikipedia of what actually happened which is actually a very simple and not very mysterious occurrence man did you did you watch the third episode I watched the first two episodes only the third episode I was [ __ ] scre like I I was getting annoying I was being annoying I I to apologize to Jenna because I was like like yelling at the screen because it really goes off the rails cuz you're right it's it should have been an episode of the UN well not Unsolved Mysteries cuz it's not unsolved no it's

[ __ ] solved it's solved yeah so but but it should have been like it could have been a nice you know 1 hour docent or something like that and yeah they dragged it out but after two episodes they get into Stu get into these conspiracy theor so for people listeners who don't know that it's a documentary about a girl a Canadian girl who went missing in Los Angeles she she went missing from the the Cecil Hotel um which is hotel that has a very bad reputation because it's near skidrow in La which is just a bad area right it's nothing hotel's not [ __ ] haunted or anything like that it's just a bad area a lot of bad stuff happens there and it's a cheap shitty hotel so

you yeah exactly they have hourly rates it's a it's a it's a shitty hotel in a shitty part of a shitty City so yeah bad stuff happens there and MH this girl goes missing and they don't they haven't found her for I don't know how long did it take to find him like like a month or something like that no I don't think it was long was it it two days no no no no no she was missing for weeks guarant I guarantee you and then the the we the thing about it that makes it so intriguing is that there was footage of her behaving really strangely in the elevator and that's what kind of made the whole thing so mysterious two weeks yeah two weeks okay but then then there's the first two episodes are kind of about you know what happened in the investigation all kind of stuff and the

third one starts going into all these conspiracy theorists online and yeah it really just goes off the [ __ ] rails and they're giving way in my opinion way too much time and taking these things way too seriously at I I almost was like this is [ __ ] dangerous these people are full of [ __ ] and you're presenting their opinions as if they're valid when we already know they're not the whole CL like the the the piece of information that nullifies every all the horeshit that they're saying is is known right if if you were paying attention you you you kind of know you could figure out where this is going and it does in the last five minutes of the [ __ ] series it's like oh actually mhm no no but I don't know they just people did to that musician exactly CU they found a video

of him at the hotel and they've gone that's the murderer he wasn't even the country at the time and they could easily have said that that at the [ __ ] moment they revealed the video like everybody he was there 12 months before but they they withhold that piece of information until the fourth episode mhm so even the documentary shits on this guy and the way they present him as this metal artist they make him look [ __ ] guilty for two episodes and then they go actually he didn't do it like don't do that do it they do have an interview people but the the internet sleuth whatever they want to be called ruined his life yeah but getting his accounts cancelled and all this calling him a murderer and he I didn't do it but and not only that yeah they make him look

like bad and then there's they start talking about this conspiracy where the cops and the [ __ ] hotel are in on it and they like cut to these really suspicious looking shots of the the detectives looking Shifty like are they [ __ ] in on this crime that kind of stuff no don't [ __ ] do that because zoom in on the hotel manager yeah on already on Twitter if you look this [ __ ] up there are people who didn't watch the whole thing and who are [ __ ] harassing people talking about all this [ __ ] hotel manager [ __ ] in on the murder there was no murder like I don't know know it's yeah I I mean I was entertained the whole way through to in a sense but that third episode in particular just made me so angry like I just I just get enraged

when I know I'm being like patted out too yes and sensationalized too and and I get it you want to you want to tell a sensational story like I mean but and that's why something like I keep going back to serial right the podcast like that wasal and they did that in a way too they would like set up could it be this no it's not but that was just to kind of play with your perception as they went along and everything they gave you was factual they just drip fed you information adjust the right order for it to be compelling but that's not the same as making things that weren't important sound important yeah do you did you guys ever watch the podcast or watch the podcast listen to the podcast up and vanished no no I don't it was

very entertaining and it's it's a podcast this guy started a it was a girl went missing and there was uh like it's all true the girl went missing uh believed to have been murdered and um it was unsolved and this guy started a podcast and it's kind of like he's investigating it and it week to week he's doing this investigation and it was really interesting and they had all these Clues and he was talking to this private detective who was brought onto the case and all that kind of stuff and it went for ages and ages and ages and then after a while it became apparent that they were withholding information to make the podcast more uh compelling which annoyed me a

bit and then after a while the the the gbi jorgia Bureau of Investigation anyway they they arrested a guy who the guy who killed her and none of it had anything to do with the podcast's evidence or they were complely the track it was guy they didn't even they never even heard of because the police had actual information and evidence yeah they're not listening police aren't listening to a podcast to find out what their next move is exactly but then the guy in the podcast was people were like oh congratulations you know you did a great job that kind of stuff he didn't do it I was like you didn't [ __ ] do anything all you did was like he he was just lucky he was talking about that at the time so he had that on it when it made the news of

they've been caught and I mean it was entertaining to listen to I got to say like I was compelled by it and it was interesting but he was wrong about everything and he didn't help at all so it's like I don't know just and this reminded me of that a little bit cuz it's like you've got this whole basically you've got I guess two episodes you could just cut out cuz it's it just it's all pointless and there's like a whole section where they're talking to this guy about synchronicity and he's like oh because it's all coincidences hom talking disa a test for tuberculosis is called a lamb Eliza her name was Eliza lamb like is that and they're like how can that be a coincidence well it [ __ ] is a coincidence it was a coincidence and in

fact if it wasn't called that you wouldn't say anything about it like like yeah and he was making it out like oh it's called a synchronicity is when there's so many coincidences that it can't be a coincidence that's not a thing no no no no no like they were all coincidences coincidence just means when things coincide yeah like yeah okay it is odd that a Lys Salam went missing and that a tuberculosis outbreak the day after was announced among the homeless population of skidrow and that the test for it is called a lamala sure that is odd but it's not related if you yeah if you relate those stories together which they're not no absolutely nothing to do with other as proven by the fact that we

know what happened to her like there was a there was they never follow up on that and and say that they just they leave it handle yeah it's just so annoying there was a podcast in Australia called the teacher pet which was uh about a a woman who went missing years ago and the uh police investigated and closed the case but the podast Caster thought it was the husband the one where they looked into it and then they hit she was buried in the backyard or something yeah yeah that was his theory but but they I mean they excavated the backyard didn't find anything but the the podcast sleuth was certain that she was there yeah now this is something that you start to realize

after five or six episodes of him just telling you what happened in different ways and interviewing different people but feeding them the same stor so that you're just getting this you're like I don't think this was solved so I actually don't know why you're making this podcast or where this is going or what I'm supposed to think by this far in and certainly not by the end of it like if there's a story there that can be told in one hour [ __ ] tell it in an hour don't tell it in 10 podcast episodes please yeah yeah some of them there was another one as well a podcast that was about a murder I don't remember the spe the specifics of it but I had I stopped listening to in because I was like oh you you have no idea no plan for how this is going to go like and it's

not going well like like Al you it's it reminded me of the up and vanished one it's that one worked out just because it happened to be a compelling story and he found enough again coincidental stuff because again nothing had anything to do with anything that that it became interesting but this one was just like this woman was like I'm going to interview people about this murder and it was just just nothing went anywhere and it was garbage like internet sleuths sometimes they do good stuff like it has happened that internet sleuths have done good stuff but like most of the time they just yeah like if you watch don't [ __ ] with cats that's a great example of internet but they still got it wrong enough to do damage yes right and then and we Jenna mentioned the other day the

other one was uh remember the the Boston bombing and how the the people on Reddit thought that kid that had gone missing did it and the kid who were missing here in um here in Providence from Brown University and they were like harassing his family and they thought he had done it and he [ __ ] drowned M and like they found his body I think he may have committed suicide I don't but but he was he was dead like yeah and his family had to put up with with all that [ __ ] like I think we should just make a rule um that if you aren't connect Ed to this in any way and even if you do think that you found some evidence um don't just harass someone's family like that should just be a rule right right or or somebody like the the the art the musician in uh

in Cecil Hotel thing yeah not saying don't do anything about it maybe report it but don't try to ruin people's lives over it the FBI the police are telling you if the police are telling you no we actually we have we've got more evidence that you don't know about and he's not suspect well [ __ ] maybe just accept that that's the case we have thoroughly investigated this and based on the knowledge that we have that you don't we have let him off the [ __ ] a hawk but well even in this show right in in the final episode of this show sorry spoilers for Crime Scene Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel the cops say there's stuff that they're still not going to tell us right yeah because there's weird stuff about the video and all that kind of stuff and the guys cops like yeah

there is right so just accept that the the police know things you don't know and he he's not he doesn't even explain like the time code on the video is weird he's like it is weird and there's a reason for that next question like yeah need to know basis move on yeah legally can't tell you why that is so I don't know just mhm I found it frustrating let's go to something fun and amazing go on Mars Mars I [ __ ] love Mars yeah you've been beaten to Mars again Mars well you want to a little bit Luke but you don't want to a whole lot you paid you paid for the paperwork you never submitted the paperwork never submitted paperwork I don't think you even filled out the paperwork did you no I opened it okay I looked at it and

then so you gave the paperwork for your Mars application the same respect as the correspondence you get from the Scientology church that keeps no actually I'm going to go I opened the Mars one package I haven't opened my Scientology stuff got the book in the rapper somewhere what book did they give you or did you you have to buy it remember they don't give you things they yeah they got me to buy dtic or something dontics yeah I'll try and find it when I'll for next next week all right but Mars perseverance Rover has landed on Mars uh I watched it live it's [ __ ] really cool this is the I watched the last one as well I just it's it's the most riving footage of just a room full

of people going I know right F yeah cuz there's nothing they can do to yeah it's just have to watch it happen they send the commands and then it just does it and if it [ __ ] up you won't even know for 10 minutes like yeah yeah like if you if you notice oh [ __ ] something's gone wrong it doesn't matter because it's already happened it's done yeah and just the fact that this [ __ ] worked right like cuz I mean you can look up all of the stuff that goes into it but the the most fascinating bit to me is that the the the landing craft lowers the Rover down onto Mars with a [ __ ] crane like like drops it off and then has to [ __ ] off out of the way and just the fact that we can do that I know it's drop a [ __ ] crane drop a [ __ ] Rover

off on Mars with a crane that's fascinating especially since when we were kids like I mean you know it was a tail into the Cold War so the space race was you know in its final lap and then just nothing happened for 20 years yeah I know mhm it's it's nice to to know that they're trying again and the plan is to get people to land people to actually go to Mars in like the next decade or so isn't it yeah except you know NASA's funding keeps getting juggled around so I don't know I was going to take eccentric billionaires for sure yeah yeah so we I mean might get there first it can't be it can't really be to me it's one of the things it can't just be like NASA does it it needs to be like one of those the world yeah does it like

everyone come together to work on it like the ISS MH yeah like it's everyone or an Russia and America are playing nice so yeah SpaceX I think they're going to test another Starship launch this week so I mean they might they might get get there did you see the last SpaceX launch it crashed did you see that yeah that's a sh spectacular I mean took off flew fuing perfectly everything went great just until the last minute when it tried to land and it [ __ ] smashed into the ground so they're going to do another one possibly this week at least they're trying to do that it's what they used to just he we're just going to let this fall in the ocean it's gone yeah I man they get those things taken off and Landing that's science fiction [ __ ] right there yeah that

spaceship takes off and then lands on a planet that's [ __ ] sick yeah and then takes off again like amazing space elevator yeah they don't talk about those anymore I feel like that idea got got poo pooed talk about it yeah that's right a lot of really important people considered making a space elevator but I feel like you've Elon musk's not making a space elevator it's probably a reason for that I feel there's a video Neil degrass Tyson talking about the space elevator oh yeah I'd ride the space elevator m oh in an instant I'd love to go to space yeah me too maybe in our lifetime maybe I don't I think In Our Lifetime yes but not us yeah probably not yeah we've missed that we we've missed it by about we'll miss

it by being people actually probably by 30 years I'd say yeah uh the perseverance Rover is going to be looking for life or signs of life and that's that's why they picked the location that's Landing it's in a crater that used to be a lake well they believe be a lake they're pretty pretty [ __ ] sure it used to be a lake and it's going to look for life and that's [ __ ] awesome mhm and perseverance too if they find it that's going to be pretty [ __ ] huge yeah so and and if they don't oh well I also like that it's taking samples of stuff right and putting them in little little containers to seal them up but it's leaving him there cuz you know it what's it going to do with them so I

just love that the idea is that like okay we build this thing it's going to put these samples in in these containers and it's going to drop the samples and we at some point in the future hopefully we'll be able to go get yeah we'll go get them I love that the like op the optimism of that yeah well I sort of like it like it's going to take out like it save him a bit of time yeah but like how are we going to get it don't know yet but we we'll just do it so that hopefully we can so good oh and it's got a helicopter on it that's my other favorite thing about this Rover it's got a helicopter what yeah it's got a little drone helicopter thing that it can deploy and I'm [ __ ] I can't wait to see footage from that thing I want to

go to Mars no no I want to go off the flying the Drone around crash immediately but I mean I thought you said you want to go to m i mean we know that but you know there's nothing there Luke there could be there's not could be me and an Xbox an internet yeah it's all I need we have to wait 11 minutes for everything you do to show up in the game yeah I'd be terrible in multiplayer well hopefully we'll get you up there to pick up those samples at some point I'm I'm willing to do it actually I don't like bending down maybe not one those little uh little arms withy things little yeah yeah see people be with those yeah well they they're probably magnetic you know be metal maybe you can just

Facebook now that it can't just be a bunch of [ __ ] links to news articles that are probably not true and that I definitely don't care about well no now the problem is is there won't be links to True articles yeah it's all going to be fake people just be posting hhip that's what it is already let's let's not kid ourselves so from what I understand Facebook has banned Australian news sites globally like I can't look at them on there either I mean not that I [ __ ] go on Facebook but if I wanted to I couldn't get my news on Facebook about from Australian news websites because Australian Facebook anyway no because Australian news websites were going to charge Facebook Facebook no yes and Google as well but Google made a deal okay can you

explain that to me a little bit I don't quite understand it myself but it was more so just like with Google Facebook like you're using these new sites information like people linking people reading it you should be paying them for it yeah essentially that's it austral was passing a law that says if you link to a corporate news site that you you have to you have to give them a kickback that seems that seems odd right doesn't it like just linking to it or is it because they're like pulling it in and stopping people going to the news website I could see that being an argument because I think people one of the problems these days is that people don't go to the news website they just see the headline on Facebook and they go that's the news yeah especially since um

if you're going to make a Facebook version of your news article you make the headline so sensationalist and misleading just to try to catch people's attention that it's probably not what the article says right yeah yeah totally but no you're right Matt there must be a reason but I don't understand the Nuance behind this ruling it's yeah it seems odd to me seems to Google told them they threatened they were going to do the same thing Google were like well guess what we just won't [ __ ] have any of your news platforms so if you Google something and it's on a [ __ ] Sydney Morning Herald it just will not come up but in the end they caved in and they they at the time where they were looking to bring this in Google were actually working on their own sort of deal for

that as well to actually start paying okay well it's certainly interesting Facebook just cut it all and yeah called their Bluff but yeah took down everything like whether it was a new site government site just took down a lot of stuff really that's so interesting I mean I mean I don't like Facebook and I feel like the fact that this is such a big deal kind of just solidifies my reasons that I like Facebook cuz people shouldn't you shouldn't be getting your news from Facebook in the article it says in short Facebook and Google will be required to pay Australian news sites when they send them traffic that's the that's what that's what I'm saying that's bizarre to me that like don't you want them to send you traffic that's how

because that's that's what a news if you're a News website in this day and age you get money from ad Revenue right you want you want traffic on your website so why should I have to pay to send them to your [ __ ] website right I don't know it just seems odd to me there might be a reason or it could just be I'm sure there must be yeah there's could be that the government doesn't understand it could really be that it could just be a whole bunch of Boomers going Facebook and Google are too powerful get your hands off our russie media no I was even that Google had actually already started when they heard it is they started making deals with like Publications in Europe and stuff as well that hey will start paying you for Content because you got to remember like

it like cuz no one pays for anything yeah really no no no it's all ad Revenue I I think maybe it's just the framing of it like when you say it's like you're paying them to link to them that sound that's to me doesn't sound right but if you're like paying them for the content I guess that's different like if if the problem is that people are staying on Google or staying on Facebook because that's Google does do that these days right if you search for something on Google often you leave Google yeah cuz they've already they've like scrape the content off your website they don't need to go to your website anymore so maybe that's what it is and Facebook doesn't necessarily do that but as you say most people don't want to read a whole article anyway they're happy to just

read the preview that shows up in your news feed so you don't click away from Facebook and onto the news site right yeah so that you they never you never get anything from that even though you put in the work yeah yeah and their your eyeballs are not on their advertisers yeah I don't even log on the Facebook so it doesn't affect me at all I don't get my news from there occasionally log on to see what I'm missing only to discover I'm not missing godamn thing yeah Facebook sends me the [ __ ] most Bal notifications because I don't go on there very often and it and I also I don't do anything on there that would get me notifications that often so it'll notify me about the weirdest [ __ ] it'll be like oh you know this person posted something

okay well I don't get any noic yeah I get them I'll look on my phone and it'll be a little you know like a red number on my Facebook thing I like what's that open up and it's it's just just nonsense just like every now and again I'll get like an email that says you've got 94 notifications waiting we read and I went yep that'll just stay there like it'll be something like oh Luke commented on a post of Dan like okay that's creepy don't tell me that like I don't need to know that I uh I would delete it except that I've got people that I'm only in contact with through Facebook that's exactly the same thing I would I would absolutely delete my account if it wasn't for my whole family communicating via yeah that's right yeah exactly right exactly there's

family members a lot of my family members whose phone numbers I don't have and the phone numbers Chang people change like people never change their Facebook you know well yeah right and you can have it doesn't matter if it's a phone number or whatever it's everybody can just be in this chat thing and then unfortunately everybody has Facebook so that's yeah that's it it's con it's convenient well now the problem with that is like you know when they made Google+ is that you can't get critical mass to get everybody off it because everybody's got to do it that's right exactly Facebook I think we're just a wrong age for it well we're in that in between right because kids don't use Facebook either right as far as I know kids think

Facebook's they still do do they they have it but I don't use it right I'm not a kid I wouldn't know I L mine we were like 25 when Facebook came out and it seemed pretty cool and then it just wasn't I remember it was but it seemed cool cuz you couldn't have it at first also the Facebook that we we got when it first came out is very different to what it is today yeah it's true remember when you get that spider graph that showed like how your friends all together remember when you could draw pictures on each other's wall remember the wall y yeah now it's just fake news and Australia no not from Australia [ __ ] your news I get my fake news here in America yeah where I'll be a citizen

soon from Russia I'm not allowed to claim I'm a citizen yet they made that very clear they said just so you're aware you've pass I passed a citizenship test you will be a citizen but you're not allowed to say that you are yet and it's illegal too and I was like all right hadn't planned on it but is it illegal for me to say I'm a citizen yeah but you're not here so what are they going to do about it I think you know what I was about to like make the joke but then I'm not going to just in case you've been stopped at a before fun can't do stuff so I just thought it was funny that she was like cuz she she she's like just so you know I think probably because people have

misunderstood before she said just so you know that you're not a citizen yet and it's illegal to say that you are and I was like okay yeah well IE I assume what she means is you can't tell an employer you legally can work for them ET yeah something like that something like that I I imagine there's probably been misunderstandings before where people have left and be like Oh I'm a citizen now no you're not yet there's still a step so I want to know though what somebody needed immediate citizenship for like what purpose did they need to leave the office yeah yeah I guess so although with a yeah you need a work permit too I have to wait for that yeah [ __ ] ace the test but I'm not a citizen listeners don't tell anyone that I am by the time this comes
