Ruin Johnson: Palpatine Returns in Episode IX & The Snyder Cut Confirmed

strap yourselves in for this week I got a lot of questions I got a lot of comments welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy Skywalker Rises the teacher finally came out and I'm actually excited now I haven't really been looking forward to stles episode 9 I've been a bitant after last time no one can Blame You Luke I mean we've been [ __ ] let down but I am prepared to 100% let myself get totally carried away by this and I was actually thinking about what sort of happened between like the force awakens and the

last shed out today and then I've realized what what has happened and stars need to stop this from happening people cannot direct and write the Star Wars movie there has to be different people doing it okay that's fair I mean some of the best ones have been uh have been written by writers and directed by directors yes yes so George Lucas did the first one yeah but he wrote and directed and he wrote and directed the first one to be fair he did do that yes but then he didn't write another one until the prequels I see I mean he was involved in writing them where he just filmed his first draft true but at least when you have a writer I mean you you have a writer doing their best and then you have a director reading a script

going yeah okay I can make this even better then it's twice removed from George Lucas at that point sure I mean I don't disagree necessarily but also I feel like I mean DJ Abrams and Ryan Johnson are writers they write things and then they also happen to direct them but they I mean they are writers right I mean they've written tons of stuff I I mean cuz I know JJ help he was a writer on the first one but there was other people working on it as well yeah yeah that's fair with the Last Jedi it was all Ryan Johnson yeah that's fair so there's no one to tell him I think the a theory doesn't really hold with Star Wars I think because Star Wars belongs to all of us so Ryan you can't just have it I thought I mean I think they could have told him no I think they just

didn't I I think think charm yeah I think he he had Kathleen Kennedy saying man you [ __ ] got this go run with it and and I mean a lot of people a lot of people really like the Last Jedi let's I mean let's be fair it's possible that everyone at Disney just really liked it as well it's just that some of us didn't and look guys listeners we're not going to just crap on about how much we did or did not like the Last Jedi that's not what this is about there that we're actually about to be talking about episode nine I didn't I just want to say the other day when you sent me that that's S as that thing there was the first time I've ever heard to him referred to as ruin Johnson and I

laughed out loud because as much as that's stupid it made it just really made me laugh I can't believe I haven't heard that before I know Perfect Right someone recently asked Ryan Johnson if he would be upset if JJ would sort of change whose race parents are to sort of make it like an actual plot Point yeah instead of just they nobody and he went his response wasn't yes or no it's just I'm just going in to watch the movie and enjoy it yeah that's fair like he good and look out of everything that Ruan Johnson did to ruin the series the one thing I actually quite liked was people he didn't make Ray related to everyone else that's fine by me actually because it's a big Galaxy and I don't see why everyone has to be a relative but she might still be

now well it is called the rise of Skywalker so you know that puts up a bunch of question marks there are other potential Skywalkers in there there are potential Skywalkers and also the theory more than one two Skywalker is not a name yeah but I've I've always said that kylo cannot be redeemed oh Princess Leia is a Skywalker I hope you told JJ because and technically she used to alive but no right kylo cannot be redeemed he murdered his father there's no coming back from that made Anakin murdered like [ __ ] kids Luke no one's ever really gone if there's anything we learned from this trailer it's the even the ultimate the best bad guy in the whole [ __ ] world

can come back from the dead apparently he can just come back man and so we and we now know that ler is back yeah yeah apparently that's thanks to some guy whose name I've forgotten who who suggested that JJ Abrams remove all of the all the scenes with Princess Leia before she shows up uh on on you know to rescue Han and everybody remove those scen so it has more impact when she shows up later and gave them a ton of footage to use so thanks thanks guy whoever you are whose name I forgotten yeah thanks man you gave us Princess Leia in another movie very good that's why Ray's costume looks very similar to the one in the force awakens because I had to match it that's interesting this trailer just yeah this well it's not even it's a teaser it's

hardly a trailer I mean you kind of ascertain bits and pieces of what the plot might be of this movie but I do want to I do want to call something out if you're someone who's worried about spoilers and you went out of your way to watch this you're not really worried about spoilers well I mean this could be a fake out this emperor exactly right fireworks going off so maybe like kylo takes Ray in his arms and he leans in and the camera pans off and then it dissolves to her out in the desert and him and a ship just going on right [ __ ] a over his his big spaceship what do you do in your sex life that that can be comparable don't pretend that you don't know the old backflip yeah so kylo's got his helmet

back it's fixed with that fixed fixed thank you I wonder if they'll move his scar I love that the JJ comes back and he's like sorry I'm not having kylo without the helmet it's the coolest part of his costume I like to imagine that when they film that scene Adam Driver actually smashed the helmet and then JJ popped in as the guy was sweeping up and he's like hey can I have that I'm going to need it yeah don't don't throw that out I just I just hope look I think that there's a lot that he can do to advance the story without necessarily retconning a bunch of stuff thatn did um it also seems like maybe some time has passed and this is not just set the day after so that will help too I just hope they don't do things

like Luke Skywalker comes down and says to Ry I am your father and then she says Oh I thought you I thought you told me that my parents were dead and and then kylo cares oh well they were from a certain point of view like I just I don't want that oh I just sorry I made that up yeah well sorry I thought I thought I thought you were talking about someone else well kylo really doesn't know who her parents were I I do find it odd that he was able to to just find that out who who some [ __ ] nobody's parents on a nobody Planet were like how although he was interested in it because of the force and all that but still yeah he probably internet stalked like checked her Facebook and probably like interested but also trying to manipulate her

and so yeah yeah but I'm hoping that she I still really hope that she's not a Skywalker well you know how he can like you know Ryan made that one thing that I quite do like is that they can see each other from time to time yeah that maybe he's been watching her since she was a baby or maybe while Luke's been off on that island planet for a few while he got a lot of those nuns pregnant oh uhhuh I love that a lot a not just and that's just the baby laughing at the end of the trailer they got Ian mcam back to play Luke Skywalker alien baby oh is that who it was meant to be I thought it was meant to be judar Binks at the end that would be great no well that's a

weird thing like to have like the second death there and Emperor laughing look out of all the things they could fake out that better not be fake that better not be [ __ ] fake I want to see where they find [ __ ] crashed death no I no I did not okay at Star Wars celebration cuz I watch I was watching it live um streamed uh at work with the little down in the corner of my screen and then they played the trailer right and then everyone was like they WIP to come off the floor yeah losing their [ __ ] and then Ian mcj [ __ ] all the lights in the Place go red Ian Mc jamad walks out on stage no everyone just starts [ __ ] losing their [ __ ] and then when they finally quiet down he goes roll it again

and they played the trailer again no way that's fantastic so in case you were questioning who if it was him it [ __ ] was him they know how to Hype well he's listed on IMDb already yeah as uh as playing the same character in this movie yeah so he's back uh the the the panel was pretty interesting cuz it was I mean it wasn't it wasn't cuz Steven coar hosted right and then it started with JJ Abrams and Kathy Kennedy just the two of them and someone playing the Maracas and um how how's that how's that is that better it's fine so it's just the two of them at first and then CO's asking him I don't know whether they didn't tell him don't ask [ __ ] questions that you know we can't answer or he just doesn't AAG and were prepared just

asking so the pl of the movie and questions and they're all just but they're like they're both just sitting there awkwardly and JJ just keeps looking over at Kathleen like I'm allowed to talk about this like he looked really awkward JJ wow scared that he was going to say something and then anytime he answered a question he was like so um like it was just kind of awkward and then they brought out uh Anthony Daniels who who's [ __ ] great you just got the crowd going and then they brought out yeah I'm sure he is Star Wars man at this point right he really is and then they brought out Billy D Williams who was also [ __ ] great and he uh but then they brought out the entire cast I

haven't changed my clothes for 40 years yeah still had them yeah yeah he doesn't really keep up with the style Lando does he he likes you found something that works for him and just sticks with it cuz Co asked him how did you find Lando again after all this time and he's like find him he's been inside me the whole time and the crowd was like he's been [ __ ] you and they brought the whole cast and then he was asking them all but he's asking them all really spoilery questions and I was just like this is like I get it I get it it's what people want to know but they they can't answer it just don't bother like it's kind of a waste of time but he goes he asked Daisy Ridley um we learned about new Force

powers in The Last Jedi like the the force you know uh walkie-talkies and whatnot and projecting your image and all that jazz he goes are we going to see Ry do anything new in this one and she goes um I think that might be a JJ question and then so all the crowd starts going yeah it's [ __ ] true it like that means yes and then and then you can see everyone going ah [ __ ] like bad answer and then JJ goes you know what I used to like Daisy Ridley so he supposed to say and no that's what I mean like like just don't ask those questions yeah other than just not talk but it's sort of a weird thing like you get them up there what questions are you meant to ask yeah you're right when the toys be released so how much money do you think I just throw my money up on the stage

for you now or yeah well look I mean we can we can all expect to be spending a lot of money on Star Wars over the next year oh yeah because of course with Disney acquiring Fox they now also uh not only own the rights to produce Star Wars content but they own the distribution rights to the original Star Wars that they never did before so we can almost certainly expect some re-releases yes well there's there's rumors of a 4K box set uh which because it's not you can't get them in 4k at the moment I don't think right just just Dand HD I think it's the last one that came out was that last Blu-ray it wasn't 4K though it wasn't 4K wasn't 4K no the rumor is it's going to have the original theatrical versions in it but then that

RoR is definitely plausible I don't know about Blu-ray because I have a sneaking suspicion that Disney are not going to be releasing any more Blu-ray I would be surprised I don't think there going to be a physical release for it I think they's going to be Disney Plus there will be a physical release when I see the new Star Wars film in the theater absolutely when I see the original Cinema release of episode 4 in 4k there will definitely be a physical release I think you find it's not called that anymore Dan oh I think you might be right I think you might be referring to the fact that they have uh they have slimmed down and simplified the titles of all uh all the old movies to fit in with the new ones yeah which is weird in a way it is weird but it's not the first

time that rcon naming of Star Wars films soing it all up is okay by me goes against the whole thing was doing though for the very first movie where it was Star Wars and then it wasn't until the re-released a year later that it was a New Hope do you think it's cuz maybe they want to make some more prequels so they just don't just get rid of that numbering system so we SL think so too and I think they want to avoid anyone using the word prequel because of the connotation it has now and I think want a look it's kind of like what did with the iPad you know you used to have the iPad one the iPad 2 and now you just have yeah you know iPad I think I think it's the same they just they just want to keep making Star Wars movies and they don't want to have to say oh this is

this and this is this they just be like we'd like to be able to make infinite Star Wars movies yeah now the good thing that they're saying with the episode 9 they're saying that this is the last of the Skywalker story interesting so because that's the other thing too it is the Skywalker storyline and so I I actually was thinking about this the other day it's kind of odd that they let Ryan Johnson like try and rap put a bow on it in in the eighth one instead of the last one like they kind of it has to wrap up the story did he have parameters at all like did they say look by nine we want to do this you know see that's what I thought they would have had this like all the three movies I thought they would have had all like completely mapped out but I

don't from the way they sort of sort of been filmed and even made it doesn't feel like it was look just let Lawrence casan and JJ Abrams sit down and knut the whole thing out forever and I'll be happy with that yeah because it's like I care who directs them at that point cuz cuz last Jedi's kind of whole thing was just like kill the P Let It Die let's let's start again and we'll get this going from scratch except you got one more movie in the series and then they're doing this whole like I I had really thought about that [ __ ] stupid thing to do the one thing I really found about the last I know we weren't going to talk about the last anymore but when going to be one of those [ __ ] hate you know what I think we should give Craig this episode for

free I don't think we can charge Craig for this one when Luke actually did start teaching Ray he was saying he was sort of heading towards like there's no to me anyway he was heading towards there's no light and dark side yeah was trying to get away from that and it was even trying to say like the books are worthless or anything but then the whole big thing at the end is she took the books with her and I'm sort of no this is a time to sort of reinvent what it is and have not good and bad but gray yeah except it's not though cuz you've got one movie left in like a a big nine movie Arc like you can't you can't just scramble it all up at the last minute so and now I mean clearly from the trailer JJ's bringing it back to making it about stuff that was in the

other movies like I don't know just just an odd um I think an odd disc another reason why Disney are renaming these without the numbers is so that you can't say like if this if this episode 9 does kind of rcon a few things then you could always go back and say well actually The Last Jedi wasn't the sequel to um the force awakens and the prequel to The Rise of the Skywalker yeah it was just another adventure that they went on it was just a it was just it's a movie about a space battle that happened you know in a Chase uh but it's you know don't don't take it so literally that this comes after this and this comes after this so was episode 9 the force awakens 2 that's right and then the opening scene is Ray wakes up and goes oh that

was a weird dream anyway a weird dream believe Sol's in the coma no Finn's in the coma and it was his dream yeah yeah and then he looks down the hallway and there's a chubby girl like mopping up and he's like [ __ ] why don't I dream about her chubby Dan come on man sorry lovely lovely girl she got a standing at stay I held back saying Asian didn't I you did you did and then I ruined it by well you said oh you know what forget it but she got a stand celebration can I Rec on that JJ Abram style and go back yeah sure go okay thanks um he looks out and sees a lovely girl in the corridor but one that he's never met before and says uh why do I dream about her that's weird moving

on moving on that's all staying in uh Kell TR got a standing ovation at Celebration which was nice because I she didn't deserve the [ __ ] she got so that was that was really nice and of course she doesn't deserve to be in episode 9 either but she doesn't deserve to be that's right but it's not necessarily her fault like WR her out of the story for God's sake she's the J of this generation she didn't do a bad job of the role the role just shouldn't have existed of course ared best didn't do a bad job of jar considering how he was told to do it y yep he still wanted to kill himself yeah poor guy I know I don't know poor bastard these YouTube videos

are interesting we've mentioned them before have we got any more Star Wars news I we haven't played the jingle yet let me do that oh yeah star stars stars well there's a little bit of Star Wars news uh in that I only just saw this trailer today for fallen order and uh aside from the fact that the lead character looks like ginger mags um y I'm [ __ ] all in I am all in yeah I was worried about it because of the title I was like full in order is this going to be some thing where they don't it doesn't fit with the [ __ ] story line again like uh Force

Unleashed yeah where you got this guy who's like I like that game yeah I like the game too but it doesn't fit with the [ __ ] plot where there's this guy out there in the universe he's like a bajillion times more powerful in anyone and he's just like n I'm busy can't be bothered helping with any of this other stuff that happens afterwards like the [ __ ] death star and yeah [ __ ] it it'll be fine the emperor I don't care he he fights them all and then dies does he yes should he starts the Rebellion maybe I should play the games again more than one minute of it hey can I can I throw something out there we may have discussed this before because we discussed Star Wars a lot and we've known each other for a long time but yeah in Star Wars A New Hope as it is

now called uh Luke is going to join the academy is what he calls it which where to assume means theer Academy right yes so at what point does he decide that his career that he has always wanted I.E to be an imperial pilot right for the Empire has now been replaced by a desire to join the Rebellion because I think that's a big plot hole Luke was just an impressionable child back then and just went along with what anyone told him I think that's fine but they've there's a missed opportunity there and I also remember the the scene where um Luke and uh what's his

name having a drink outside the Cantina and they're looking up into the guy and they see flashes from a from a space battle and they say oh that's a um you know it's it's obviously some kind of dog fight up there like at that point if Luke has had no has no cont with Princess Leia's message yet he should be like oh those [ __ ] Rebels you know actually part of that whole story arc was when he was there with bigs and stuff is bigs was telling him he was going to jump ship and join the Rebellion yeah but they removed that so now there's just a big black hole where Luke is just literally will go along with anything anyone tells him well well old told him hey uh that's all well and good but how you join this religious cult that I uh I used to be a part of

he he know about the force for all of 5 minutes and then was going oh oh you don't believe in the force I guess however you've just heard of it you don't even know what it is yeah but at least he had someone talking about it no one mentioned the Rebellion to him at that point Obi-Wan wasn't part of the Rebellion Luke would just do whatever you wanted literally would just join whatever club would have him I think I know how I think Princess Leia he went oh Rebellion sure whatever you want whatever you want I will do whatever that hot chick is into MH shoot Stormtroopers sure I'll murder yeah [ __ ] I'll Mur for you piece of ass

yeah Star Wars I wonder if they ever had that conversation like I wonder if somewhere between episode four and episode 5 Le said to him do you need to call anyone like to tell them where you are and he's like oh my aunt and uncle but they're they're dead actually well that's probably the moment actually when he's standing there in the storm well the although he's I mean it's only Obi-Wan that told him it was Stormtroopers yeah yeah he thought it was they were only at his house because they followed I2 D2 there who was what would make the movie even more princess directly was just 10 people and everyone's like oh Stormtroopers come with me you young boy yeah but back to fall I also want to see where some sand people go sorry can you

million dollars to play that game one of the things that I'm really likeing I'll play it yeah I don't think for million a million dollar oh right it wasn't just that they were so desperate for players that they will pay anyone a million dollars if they give it a go no they they paid what's his ninja is his name ninja this the nin they gave him a million dollars just to play the game on his channel wow because he's he's like one of the biggest twitch streamers and so he plays a lot of uh fortnite so to get the kids it's a weird situation though because everybody knows he got paid a million for but I suppose kids don't care or kids don't know but it's like are they paid me a million dollars to play the game so here I am playing the game and everyone's going to be like

wow must be a good game if you he's playing it because they pay yeah if he's taking the [ __ ] money for it I played it I don't like it you say that about any celebrity who endorses any product like when you on the L'Oreal ads and go [ __ ] she must really love this product if she'll be in the air yeah joov she oh yeah I guess yeah yeah that's right yeah yeah uh but it is more blatant when when it's yeah publicized because I mean it's different for influencers right because they they do a lot of editorial content so they have to point out when they're doing a commercial piece which is not the case with everything else which is all just commercial all the

time like an Instagram you can see their sponsored posts now when it's yeah and you see hash ad yes so follow on so this is coming out in November yes so and it's a single player game and no microtransactions that they so this this is the game I want I want it too I want it right now no multiplayer at all good good I mean [ __ ] friends well I mean it works it's good to have for some multiplayer games but they don't all have to be multiplayer games and this one doesn't have to be so good no this one definitely shouldn't be and I'm glad it's not and people bu buy this game please so they'll make more of them yes like my my one fear is that

this doesn't do well yes and then they go well we're just going to go back to making crappy shoo we need to Champion this we we can't talk about it now and then like oh I didn't buy it because I've got a lot of games in my [ __ ] got good that's the know got to be good though got to be good as well H maybe it doesn't have to be good I'll just buy it anyway I find it funny though I mean this this directly links the prequels to to the current movies yes in ways that they've kind of avoided so far sure y well no they actually haven't they've they have connected stuff but just in stuff that we don't watch okay sure no you're the cartoon Star Wars Rebels so that's sit between St Wars

Rebels have Jimmy Schmidt's character in it I think it does it's a condition of D watching things is Jimmy SM got be it if Jimmy smithz is in it I might give it a go to be completely honest with you as I heard yeah he didn't even say anything in that first scene it's just Jimmy Smiths walks in and then it cuts away and just [ __ ] oh he's he's like he's the big reveal well Jimmy Smiths is in this who knew but probably got paid $100,000 for that SMI being in it was the little wink from Disney to us that yes the prequels are still Cannon but I still don't think we're going to hear about medoran anytime may not but we have heard about Order 66 and every time I think of that I think of Mr

plinkett's review when he was like he's got George Lucas writing the script and he's he's doing the internal monologue and he's like okay what number should the order be what's an evil sounding number 666 yeah that's great how many orders pal put for it already he's like tell you what I'll just write six n that sounds like he doesn't really give out that many orders let's make it 66 also this the I love the idea that it was just the next this the next one in the sequence yeah Jedi slaughter5 yeah yeah yeah and he does that World War II had [ __ ] fantastic operation meat grinder you know what I mean like they just had great names for their plans Order

66 I'm pretty psyched I mean I'm sorry we're talking chicken I'm just pretty psyched to see Ian mcj back he's so [ __ ] man I know even if even if it doesn't make sense I know you have yeah is this another one of those don't tell anyone I was here meetings that you've had with celebrities mate or is this no no my celebrity meetings just secet I just don't like to name did did not Tom Cruz come and visit you in the night and then say don't tell anyone I was here his wife was there too but okay Tom Cruz and his then wife came and visited you in the night and told you not to tell anyone she their wife it's Nicole Kidman like she's not it's is just some secret life you had it's a [ __ ] it's another celebrity the point is that Luke is now denying that Tom

Cruz came and saw him and then told him cautioned him not to tell anyone about it no I I was allowed to tell people I had met him I wasn't allowed to tell people before it was going to happen yeah cuz it wasn't a a he called Shoot like or Luke it's Tom I'm coming in don't you [ __ ] bed not telling don't mention it till I get there you can drop a press release yeah yeah but but normally your story The reason we we haven't discussed you meeting e MCD is because normally this story gets overshadowed by the fact that you asked Nat Portman out and we focus on that aspect of it because it's very funny well I want to I want to go over that again too today if that's all right but let's start with a yeah so I met him during the filming

of episode three fantastic go on one a prequel so I got to see them filming a scene and yeah it was an interesting enjoy it no he wasn't there unfortunately never mind never mind oh you would have mentioned that I guess yeah yeah but I did see like the artwork for tar before that was announced and stuff told him not to tell anyone don't tell anyone I was here don't tell any here I got to hold Luke Skywalker's lightsaber and the emperor so I got to hold the emperor's lightsaber before you actually knew that there was he was going to be having a lightsaber Jewel ah okay so so you went up to Palpatine and were like can I hold

it no no um it was just like they took us to like the props and then like here are the lightsabers and I've just picked up ones and I've gone this and actually one of the guys who worked there who worked for uh industrial Light Magic cuz I picked up Luke's light but I G this is Luke he's G actually that's Anakin yeah the one that of course yeah yeah yes good point and then you and then uh mcj was like would you like to hold my lightsaber and you were like yeah and he went Execute Order 34 and then they tell anyone I was here so who else did you meet come on M you McGregor oh yeah nice nice um Hayden Christensen cool okay yeah have any advice for Hayden

[Laughter] Christensen I will admit he was probably the most standoffish person there oh he he seems like it though yeah he's like I'm going to be a big star I'm going to be he seems like he [ __ ] hates all this [ __ ] I remember he was at Star War celebration last year and he just he just didn't seem like he wanted to be there man I watchie that and he was just like guys can you please [ __ ] stop talking to me about Star Wars cuz you actually look like I went with people who like I went with K because I grew up with cancer but there were people there who like were actually still sick and going through treatment everything and like Yan was excited to see it's like everyone was and then Hayden was just hi yeah like did you call did you like

dude you not give a [ __ ] about kids with cancer I just met George Lucas I was very very happy Okay so You' met a lot of people but how many of them did you ask out I've asked out quite a lot actually go down the list of celebrities you've asked out because this is a list I'm very very keen to hear um actually oh did I ask her I don't know it all BLS Katrina Round Tree I know is one I hit on her on that no I remember that and man know who the [ __ ] that is was the these knees yes no one in America knows met her during uh the 99 2000 Years Eve party cuz I was on uh I got to go on a harbor cruise in the exclusion Zone where they fire for the fireworks and because it was also part of a chem quality thing we weren't allowed to they went I got very

drunk this night and there's a reason for it well near to get drunk CU it was a a reason because it was aity thing' there going to be no alcohol so I I I met with people who were going with it I've gone let's go to the pub and get a few drinks in because we're going to get there and there going to be no drinking so we go there I get my normal happy Luke yep sure then we get onto the boat and they go hey so there is drink there is alcohol in the boat and you are all over 18 so yes you can drink but please just don't don't have anything in your hand when you're on camera so I had my hand behind my back whenever I was on camera and I just actually tried to stay off camera for most of the night and then got very very drunk and ask Katrina

that okay now this is did do this is not a racial faux par because I'm in the snowy north right now and there's really no races to make fun of so um it was yeah that's right yeah and even they're white you know what I'm saying have you seen any polar bear look okay I have seen one but only because I was assured by the guide that I was with that the very small white blob I could see on the horizon was in fact a polar bear oh that's pretty neat oh and I'm taking I'm taking her word for it so okay yeah yeah I mean I couldn't describe it to you I couldn't pick it out of a police lineup it's white and bar a white dot on the horizon yeah I've seen a lot of reindeer like oh

a lot I think I've seen more reindeer in the wild now than I saw say kangaroos have you seen Rudolph yeah have you any flying reindeer so I well look here's the thing so a tiny bit of backstory I was on a little island um called spitsbergen um in a town called L and it is very isolated it is in the Arctic Circle and it's the it's the most northern point of land on Earth and they don't have a lot of animals out there and the kind of anals I'm used to e dinner for they don't have there's chick PS right so I've eaten I've eaten some exotic animals this week gentlemen I've eaten exotic animals yeah and when they I would like to try them all well so I've eaten ree four or five times because that is the primary source of meat um on

spitsbergen and yeah right the first time I tried it though it was just as a little a derve and they had a uh you know they triy to make fine dining look really fancy so they put this kind of like cherry on top no I think I think that one might have been Rudolph oh no it's like the one way you should never serve up a reindeer with a cherry do they grow cherries up there it's a good point man but this uh this story doesn't doesn't take place up there it takes place I'm in Oslo right now in Norway and yesterday I was walking with my colleague just around and checking out the city and everyone here rides these little scooters these little kind of motorized scooters they're [ __ ] everywhere and they're they're really quite irritating people

zipping around and you got to step out of their way um and my my mate was just going on and on about how how he hated them and and I was agreeing with him and then one one came right by me with two people on it two two guys on one scooter and then just because I was caught up in the moment as I kind of was turning to watch them go I said out loud to my colleague seeing two men on One Scooter is literally the gayest thing I've ever seen and as I was turning around to watch them go I made eye contact with the two people directly behind me who were a gay couple pushing their child in a pram right yes looking at me with eyebrows raised is like what the [ __ ] are you going to say now and I said the only thing that came to mind which

was second gayest thing and they were okay with that so it was over yeah they sort of have a little bit of chule with that yeah they let me have that one so that was nice good got a sense of humor up there I guess yeah up in up in no way yeah you got to stop calling things gay like not uh not really appropriate we've got a no we got some not we got some homophobic slow news unfortunately this week you know you guys know that in New Zealand there was an ad campaign on TV to tell people to stop calling things gay yeah it's just a it's a bad habit it's not I mean it doesn't come from any any kind of actual you know it's weird a lot of the time when it's being used it's not saying that like being gay or

homosexual is bad it's just it's it's just just it's just a shitty thing we used to say when we were kids cuz everyone said it but but you know yeah it's I know South Park even had an episode about trying to explain how do you remember that one I do not I haven't watched South Park in years South Park there was an episode where guys on Harley Dav motorcycles were riding through town like the loud bikes and they going that's gay and then yeah it was all about that just they'll keep calling them gay and it's so like no we've got nothing wrong with homosexual people they're fine it's just yeah but that's gay and they're just trying to say like it's not yeah saying anything bad against that it's just a different way of using the word yeah but I mean it

does come from that so I I I can see the point like the reason the reason it's used as a slur is because people didn't like gay people so it's like but remember it actually used to meant to be happy that's that's true that's true so the the usage has changed uh even before that but uh in in the division 2 this one I think is is I I don't understand how this made into the [ __ ] game this is I don't I I don't understand full on and cuz when I first read about it I thought this must be an accident but then I saw a screenshot and I was like how the [ __ ] did this make it into the game so in the division 2 there's a bunch of graffiti in the game street art in the game and one of the pieces of street art is a cop a fat cop eating a

donut and on his badge his badge number is f a 660 T mhm yeah and that looks like a derogatory you know a slur when you well it's Le speak right and I just don't understand how that made it into the [ __ ] game speak like no one spotted that so it's it's it's it's it's leite speak it's it's slang what the hell is leite speak yeah but it's also a really offensive slow like how did that make it into the game yeah but it's still Le SLE for the word we all think it is right it doesn't mean something that I'm missing right no no no it means exactly what you think it means yeah just weird so lead speak is sort of a way that hackers used to sort of changed the way that yeah you swap numbers swap letters with numbers

numbers yeah yeah but so I mean they've patched this out I just yeah but have they said was this something that of the developers design was this just a picture that they picked up from somewhere and we apologize that this image slipped through our content review processes and we are currently reviewing them in order to avoid this kind of oversight from occurring in the future so somebody just I guess did it on purpose we can assume and and it got through yeah I mean somebody had to type that in right yeah exactly so yeah they've apologized and removed it it's just weird that wa that no one noticed I can understand this not being noticed yeah I mean it's a big game yeah you're right yeah it's a huge game but someone had to put that on the wall yeah

someone definitely made a decision to put that there like and they would have known what was on there it is hidden in this image to a point you know what I mean like if you if you just if you were just grabbing the artwork out of the Dropbox and you know yeah you're right if you're in crunch time trying to finish this [ __ ] game and then you're like yeah let's put the the cop eat and the donut up on the wall and you just slap it up there and you don't notice yeah sure fair enough but yeah someone actually but there was someone there in the organization who knew that was there or a contractor who who was contractor like there was someone who saved that file somewhere to begin with that was then picked up the new at some point somebody said I'm going to make this guy's badge

number say and then I'm going to put it up on you know I I thought we were going to get through this entire conversation without anyone using that word but we didn't we didn't that's cool that's sorry there's a lot of slurs in Red Dead we've talked about before they're intentional and they're just in there some racial slurs and they did the same thing in game Mafia 3 yeah yeah and they actually did have like a warning at the start of the game to go look there's some language in here that we don't agree with but we're trying to make a game that is a set for this time period warning we are a bunch of racists yeah um one funny thing though that's happened recently with red dead is that the Pinkerton detective agency has tried to sue

because Pinkerton agents are featured in the game and they're kind of the bad guys quite prominent but they always are that's yeah because the pinket tins were [ __ ] thugs back in the wild west and yes they're a legitimate security service now but they weren't back then but the same logo I everybody knows like yeah yeah it's the pinkertons like it's it's like it's not I don't see how you could sue for it it's just a thing like there were a bunch of [ __ ] and everybody knows it and so they then you watch Deadwood there [ __ ] in that as well yeah oh exactly right ruthless [ __ ] bounty hunters sort of okay so no that they settled their money was paid oh sure yeah yeah y definitely yeah look I think

even if it's historically accurate if if a company that you're using the the likeness of is still company that's trading today I think the whole thing got dropped right because because Rockstar sued them back it was mutually withdrawn Rockstar was suing them and they were counter suing money was paid somewhere yeah somebody somebody is okay with it now when they weren't before it's one of those annoying things like you hear about the lawsuit and then you don't hear you don't get the details of what actually happened for it to disappear a lot of them do just disappear never to be heard of again which is a shame because we've been reporting on some pretty crazy lawsuits in the past that I would like to know some follow up how how did it

wrap up but but even though like a lot of people do know the Pinkins and is historic uh a lot of people are stupid as well sure and probably don't know that That's History yeah and so they just see oh pinkton oh that's an aeny ah I think more people would have heard of the pingon agency in the context of the Wild West then would have heard of them in the context of their security company that exist today yeah I didn't know there was still around but then I'm I'm you know I've not in the US that long and I don't think they're overseas but also I don't think it comes up that often so most people probably don't know even here well I think they don't want it to I mean they kind of privacy is kind of their thing right yeah and I also I suppose followed by a

Pinkerton I suppose the the I mean Red Dead was very very successful so I guess even there probably are people who never heard of them who heard of them because of this through that game hear about everything once anyway yeah you got but I think it's like I think it's like the Nazis right it's like you could make up your own group of bad guys but if you say the Nazis everyone goes okay well bad we na so we we've got a a homophobic slur couldn't get through without that and also a reference to the Nazis so if you're playing you're playing multiple does in Bingo uh yeah that's it Star Wars phobic slurs dance faar and the Nazis the Nazis yeah but like you know when you're playing Red Dead and you hear the pinkton are after you don't

need to go who are they what are they nobody needs to explain it it's just like okay the [ __ ] bounty hunters are after him yeah Luke have you ordered anything off the internet recently um yes was it delivered by a drone no disappointing not yet I'm waiting for it to happen because Google is now delivering things with drones in camera see I I was actually just thinking about this I think it's sort of a Bad Thing unless you're home to re no no and hear me out unless you're home to receive it CU even when a courier arrives like you don't people don't know really where a courier is going but with a drone you

can really work out where they're dropping stuff off sure so unless you're there to collect it right away I think there's a more chance of it being you think people are going to just be following drones to their destinations on the off chance the person's not home yes I me that point anyway sure but the whole point of these drones is to get it immediately so you would only order something to be delivered immediately if you wanted it immediately that's a good point and it's not like six to eight weeks from now a drone will drop this somewhere I find it weird that this is starting really in for a sure it's starting in CRA yeah I I'm maybe because it's manageable there yeah it might be it might only be this is only in like

the center of camra because I don't think it's going to be from where they've set like see they've got where is it Franklin Harrison Gangland so there's nowhere near me okay that would be delivered to and that's the thing like CRA is very spread out I think it's interesting too that like they've got you know it's not allowed to fly over main roads it's allowed to go near people I'm like so they can't really they can't go that far like no so it's I mean it's it's cool but I don't no yeah it's just it's it's it's cool and interesting and I guess we'll see see Happ something that will never happen in America for a while no they get shot down here y so we walk out their shotguns and shoot them down even though they're just

dropping off coffee y [ __ ] I would love for a drone to deliver me coffee that would be great yeah so they're saying oh they're saying but by 2030 drones could deliver like four takeaway orders in at a time huh it's like 11 years away not exciting news I'm hungry now what are they delivering to me next week well you're in they're pretty close to you they start expanding it out you'll be mean you're more likely to get it than I am you'll still be there in 11 years Luke he's speaking of stuff in the in in the distant future to get excited about so I'm yeah I've been working on this thing that is basically just to

service eccentric retired millionaires right so the company I've been keeping in the last week and a half has been decidedly odd right okay sure and two of the guys that I met recently are going up on Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic flight oh oh wow and a third guy who friends with those two said he was offered and turned it down and I was like dude what the [ __ ] man yeah is he scared it's he's going to die no he's his his his excuse was kind of like the the car Carl Pilkington excuse which is the the holiday is supposed to be the destination not the [Laughter] trip all right yep I may I don't get that but okay yep

I know [ __ ] we've talked about this although if you don't want to Fork out $250,000 just to go up and down I can understand that yeah but if I had that money yeah man if I had what I'd be doing with it yeah exactly you want to see that our patri our patreons can come through Still Still we still have a tier uh um you know what I don't even know let's have a look no we don't I can I can ask these guys to uh give up their seats you know we still have to pay but uh I think we remove that we've just got the three T the three reward tiers at the moment so yeah we don't have to give us a million dollars so we can go to space anymore no it wasn't uh it wasn't it wasn't popular it's still stands yeah yeah we just don't feel we're going to get there with

must say but I did watch it on a plane so maybe I didn't give it due diligence it's ridic you watch your stuff on a plane sometimes you're not really watching to pay attention you're just blindly staring at a screen that's when you know because I've watched some great movies on planes and that's when you know a movie is good yeah I'm checking all of my streaming services to see if I have it and it's not looking watch uh uh super super on sure on a flight [ __ ] great movie yeah absolutely absolutely I saw Shazam have you guys checked that one out no not yet no I've wanting to though cuz I don't mind Zachary Levi and it looks like a fun movie I heard it was good uh I'll tell you it is good it is

very good and it is very funny but it is a kids movie and I wish I'd known that going in it is a little kids movie now it's a good kids movie and it's the kind of movie that we used to love back when we were kids where the bad guys are actually bad and people do get murdered and the stakes are real um but it it it is a very soy cheesy watered down it's it's it's not a it's it's not the caliber of the other superhero movies that we've got out here it's not avengers but it is done it's definitely not avengers yeah but it's done very well and I I really like and I laughed out aloud a lot um well done yeah yeah but kids movie okay so just keep that in mind when you watch it

definitely watch it but just keep that in mind I do I do want to see it yeah you do look speaking of films uh yes I haven't been here I don't know if you guys have already talked about this but uh Zack Snider's been in the news no we haven't talked about it no okay so two things number one Zack SN has finally come out and admit there is a SN cut of the Justice League so there you go just needs the visual effects finished yeah yeah that's right uh so that'd be interesting if if they ever decide to do anything with that uh people are I don't know if there's enough demand for it I think I would imagined so there's a small minority of people who really really want it but I don't know if there's enough for them to Warrant spending all the money on it I also

don't think it's going to make the movie much better well we'll see I the thing is Zack SN did a did a a thing recently it was like he he did a bunch of q&as about all of his films and he's a he's an interesting guy like he's not an idiot so and he was trying to set some stuff up in in all of those films and apparently he fought with them a lot about various things he was trying to put in um Man of Steel and Batman a Superman that they made him take out and there's a reason why the reasons why Justice League ended up as kind of clunky as it was I don't know I feel like I don't know I'd be interested to see what he what he was what he was doing just just to see yeah I know what you mean yeah yeah give him a chance uh

he he doesn't really come across like that kind of autter director that warrants having a director's cut but uh I didn't like justice league so if if if the reason I didn't like it was because his original Vision was compromised and what I saw was a kind of a high hybrid of two movies that um you know once stripped back could could be something really special then you know I'd give it a go yeah I I I won't Fair also Fair also Fair um but but he's also in the news this week because he's come out and basically criticized people who criticize his Batman v Superman movie as well um and uh I just love this because this is this is the most uh Zack Snider thing I've ever heard I I'll read out the quote but

Matt can you can you put a bit of Batman v Superman theme music underneath it when I I read sure yeah yeah bit of a junk in there someone says to me Batman killed a guy and I'm like [ __ ] really wake the [ __ ] up I guess that's what I'm saying once you've lost your virginity to this [ __ ] movie and then you come to me and say something like my superhero wouldn't do that and I'm like are you serious I'm like down the [ __ ] road on that it's a cool point of view to be all like my heroes are so innocent My Heroes don't [ __ ] lie to America My Heroes didn't embezzle money from their corporations My Heroes didn't [ __ ] commit atrocities that's cool but you're living in a [ __ ] dream

world so they got oddly specific there and I'm not entirely sure why but that's that's what Zack Snider has to say to you if you didn't like Batman versus Superman yeah he if you think Batman could get by without killing people he thinks you need to wake up the [ __ ] up and you know what fine except it's a it's a cartoon it's a it's a comic it also seems to imply that Batman embezzled money from corporations and committed atrocities I'm not sure why that's even in there actually no that sort of does I that sort of does make sense cuz how does he pay for those I bet you I bet you his Batman does yeah yeah yeah because I guess even when you own a corporation and still have a board of directors you can't just use the money for whatever you want right that's

yeah but you know that that makes me even more interested to see just a Zack n a Batman movie where Bruce Wayne is just a [ __ ] ruthless [ __ ] who's like no I have to punish criminals at any cost I I am committing an atrocity here for the greater good yeah with my embezzled money I and I think that that's what he was going for kind of yeah is interesting and same with like Superman like Superman he he wanted to he's going for like more realism but then it's also really over the top and unrealistic so yeah it's an odd mix and I actually like Batman v Superman quite a bit I just think it should have ended 45 minutes earlier before doomsday came into it that could have ended like five times that movie it just kept going well one of the things that that that came

out of this panel recently with him was that you know the villain in the Justice League was steppen wolf and it was just not very interesting but he was he was apparently going to show up sort of in um Batman vers Superman but they said nah too much and then it was kind of this whole big overarching thing where the whole all of the all of these films were going to have this overarching plot of dark seed or dark side [ __ ] how you pronounce that uh and I don't know it sounded he made it sound really interesting and I'm like I'm almost disappointed that he didn't get to just finish it just so we could see if it was if it worked in the end you know maybe maybe we could have come around to what he was what he was doing but no yeah probably not that's all for
