just put this out there I mean we've argued on the podcasts in the past of whether we're Millennials or Gen X and you know like it's pretty muchen call Millen you're a millennial um but something I heard somebody use a metric the other day that concerned me and I want to ask the question to you guys are we middle-aged Yes Yes actually I'm over middle-aged well you're younger than us so hold on no I don't think you're late middle aged hang on yeah I was going to say No Maybe not maybe that's how that works then we we're through mean the middleaged yeah I'm like yeah I'm younger but my yeah I'm my life expectancy is shorter so that's why I'm older you're middle yeah I've already passed the middle for those of listeners who don't

know Luke's an intravenous drug user but no you are definitely middleaged Luke's dick is and then unfortunately it's attached to the rest of Him Luke Luke's dick is middle-aged yeah middle age apparently is defined as uh 40 to 60 so we're not in the middle yet I'm glad that's the middle that means we're going to be living till 120 y that's the plan I wouldn't classify over 50 so we're early middleaged then yeah I think so I think what this is I guess if you take a 100 as the goal right 50 is the middle and so 10 years 100 is very optimistic not for you Matt you'll live to like 150 for Luke and I my goal is 60 that's that's my target you're very healthy considering Luke you have no right to be as healthy as you are his goal is 60 and a night of before

his 61st birthday he will make sure he meets his goal yeah that's right I'm allowed when I turn 60 I'm allowed to start smoking again says who oh I'm so looking for the BGE General's giving him aice on it he's like if you have gotten this far then do what you want mate yeah do what you want oh I'm so looking forward to that day L I'm going to call you out on something surprisingly healthy that's no idea how Lucas said on this podcast many times that the only reason the one and only reason he doesn't smoke is money and now we know the truth it's money and he's also not allowed but it's actually more so the money they're far too expensive look I'm I love smoking and I would smoke except I'm a [ __ ] addict and I can't ever have a cigarette ever again or I'll just

be a smoker again no cuz I've quit a few times and I I can quit and then I becoming a social smoker oh yeah that did not I don't think you can do that I don't think that's a thing that can happen I think your brain there are people who could there are people who can do that just be I have the occasion smoke and you know what the difference is they weren't [ __ ] smokers exactly that's what I'm saying they've always done that it's they our default is as smokers all three of us for me I would be spending like close to $100 a day now on smokes cuz I smoke I used to smoke like two two and a half packets day listeners who don't live in austral AUST and also smoke would be shocked to hear how much a packet of cigarettes costs in Australia now yeah I

I don't know how people can do it I I earn a good income and I can't afford the smoke I just spend it all on games but the second turn 60 G down special filter so when are you going to retire or do you think you just won't I I don't I don't think I'll be one of those people that retire cuz you're not planning on living long enough yeah I'll just be that person um re anyone know where he is well and you're dead actually you can retire early if you want to I don't actually know what my retirement age is I should look into that I'm actually you should at least retire for a little bit right so you maybe want to aim for like5 well I don't think I don't think we can retire at 55 I think we are in the 60 years mate you can retire whenever you want yes but you can't access your super

or anything or pension or anything yeah you can just not go to work yeah in your job all right I guess things are different over here because because we don't have super or any of that kind of stuff so if you weren't saving money yourself you're [ __ ] anyway retire anytime you want mate exactly yeah cuz you're resp FS yeah see whereas I i' actually I pay extra into my sou um so I should probably look into when I can actually access it yeah I'm pretty sure we're in 60s Dan it's not like our our parents who were like 55 go for it my Goda took a nice early retirement at 55 and just [ __ ] cruised the rest of his life I mean he died of depression 10 years later but you know I I work with a guy who just yet he was in he was in had before I joined

allowed him to retire at 55 but the one I'm in after no I have to work longer this doesn't have to be the podcast but Luke do you know how much Super you have cuz I know how much Super I have and it's not a lot it's not enough I don't understand no I've got I think like 250 I got less than that I got less than that because I work overseas understand how that yeah I've got less than that but like it's it is mine's growing yeah right well mine's going to grow now that I get decent super cuz I work for the you know what but let's just say it's been in a stage of Arrested Development well I max out my us uh options at the moment because I realized well hey I don't I can't touch any of my Aussie stuff I actually asked about that when I left I said I'm not coming back can I

have the money and they said no cuz you could come back if you wanted to and we don't want you to must some loophole because I I happen to know certain Libertarians you know who I'm talking about you know who I'm talking about who cashed out their super for silver buling right which is buried somewhere on his property is it staying in I'm not going to say his name I'm not going to draw a treasure map to house obviously obviously I'm going to think the Dre get it out the only way you can sort of get it out is if you're doing sort of like uh you've contributed more so you can take out like but I also think he just went give me my [ __ ] money I I don't think he would have gotten it cuzz it would have

been like Matt as well where it's up no cuz you you still no matter what people say you still burden on society that's that was the thing yeah I I and because they're like yeah but you could retire and then just move back here and then and then you've blown all the money I was like yeah that's fair all right keep it you like oh that's a great idea I didn't even think of that well actually and and it benefits me also because I have life insurance through it and that's [ __ ] expensive here uh except I've got life insurance automatically through my super so oh and the premiums come out of it and I don't have to pay anything and it's uncovered so I was uh I was on Reddit the other day reading some of those um awkward moments at work and this woman

said that she's a she's a bank teller and somebody came in with a check for 150 Grand put it down there and she was like who how do I get one of these and the woman was like that's a life insurance check and I'd actually prefer my husband to still be here Jesus so that's why when I'm H saying yeah yeah how'd you do it how'd you get away with it poison it was poison wasn't it yeah all right guys I'm just going to come out and say this all right this it's the elephant in the room I just want to [ __ ] talk about it go on I I watched psych yeah all right you guys have been going on and on about how much pych did you watch okay I watched one

one episode of Psych I watched the first watch a lot more the pilot the pilot which is like an hour and a half long feature length episode right MH it was fine it was I mean it wasn't laugh out loud funny but it was entertaining and it was light it was like a '90s early 2000s sitcom sure fine yep I have no idea how they could even stretch this premise to a second episode let alone how seasons are there eight there's eight there's two movies and I think there's talk of a third he wants to do five movies total I'm willing to give this a chance and watch the second episode but really this this is what you guys are obsessed with I I didn't come in on the first episode I came in like a

few episodes after that but it really builds and grows on you and then when you start seeing all the episodes that are sort of a reference to this and a reference to that I think you will enjoy it you just need to an accumulated payoff an interesting fact about it that I didn't know uh because we're in season 8 now we're almost finished with the show like yeah um so you're right Dan yes it starts out and it and particularly the early episodes he does more of the psychic stick and they tone that down the premise of the show well it's not so much later on you I know but I feel like after two seasons it's just kind of incidental that he's doing that like it becomes a PL point but it's not the focus of the show anymore maybe even

skip like the first season and go in with season two because I think ice came in halfway through that well here's yeah everyone online seems to agree that like Season 2 Season 3 is when it really Finds Its feet and it settles into to yes he's pretending to be psychic but it actually he doesn't do any of the boogie boogie stuff he just you just he notices things and then he goes oh I'm I'm hearing from the and it's tell he's telling me this and it's just kind of the premise of the show it's not you know they don't milk the [ __ ] out of him pretending to be a psychic or anything like that do they always zoom into things real quick they do but only so but but it's less on the nose it's just more he spotted a receipt on the desk and then now he's pretending to be

psychic and it's kind of it's actually quite clever in a lot of episodes you like oh okay yeah and then like there's sometimes people will go but you could have you know figured that out or guessed and he's like that'd be a pretty wild guess wouldn't it and everyone like he good point and then it's you know it's like a little joke okay but then season 2 right okay so psych was a small show shot in Canada right you can tell early season yes right season two in the bag shot in 2007 something happened in 2007 that meant they needed TV shows to to put on because the writer strike occurred right a lot of TV shows got

canceled a lot of TV shows had shortened Seasons a lot of TV shows that weren't psych didn't happen psych gets put on basic cable here in the US right because NBC they had in the pocket like we've got this show that and monk apparently we've got these shows we've got and we've got to put something on TV that explains monk yeah so they put those shows on basic cable and people loved it yeah and then so season three of Psych is when it gets the money and it gets like really ramps up and and and gets going okay yeah I think you need to give it more time because you're not even like the female cop different she she changes she's my favorite character oh she's gone is she not even different actress it's a different character character because that's because uh they

I love those two the two cops the male cop's still there right yes yes the guy who looks like he's from a show from the 50 yeah Lassa yeah he's like one of the main characters but he uh they said that they had an affair right well they're not an affair they were they were seeing each other yeah but in the pilot right they they that happens but they mention that he's married and they don't apparently didn't make it clear enough that he was separated and and in all the test screenings people hated her because they thought they were having an affair she was yeah she was The Other Woman all right no no no they do say separated no yeah but people didn't get it apparently and then all the feedback was like that [ __ ] that that [ __ ] stolen from his wife the matter the single woman not the

married man yeah exactly like that's that's the [ __ ] like back then like yeah it's her she's the evil one not him Who's Cheating so episode two it's still a female cop but it's just it's a different character complet and they mentioned the fact that that she got fired oh right but look yeah look then I think you will like it but do need to either you can probably I don't think I watched season one okay so what do I do do I power through it or do I skip ahead I feel like so I I'm pretty sure the next episode is uh is the one at the spelling be I think episode two is the one the spelling be and that one Al that also I was like I don't know man I could take or leave this tell you what I'm going to skip ahead from season 1 episode 1 to season 2 episode 1 yeah go

and see if I can just pick it up if I love it I can always go back and have a Nostalgia trip cuz what they start doing later on is like you have normal episodes and they they become pretty solid and good but then they start doing these homage episodes where like you watch an episode all of a sudden the theme music is in the style of some other show or movie and you're like oh what's this like like and then and then it's like shot like something else and it's like I told you there's a Twin Peaks episode where it's all shot like Twin Peaks so in other words it's a it's a bunch of TV writers going I can't can't believe our show is still on the air yeah maybe let's just do all the cool stuff we want to write well you can tell they just they just love TV and

movies and so they and they got to make a TV show and then I guess because of whether because it was successful or because of what I said with the writer strike and everything they got given money and they were like [ __ ] it let's just do what let's do this cool stuff man what great timing and the performances get better from all the I think all the actors as time goes on I think particularly Sean and Gus like their performances get better CU I think they were a little cheesy first season I don't have too much of a problem with them is his dad still always a part of it is that part of the story line yep yeah okay yep although they ditch the um the the little top and tail kind of thing where you know the start of the episode shows

him learning something when he was a kid and then he applies that they do that for quite a while but then eventually they I think a little too long right yeah and then that just gets abandoned as well yeah oh yeah and then at some point they switched up the style of him noticing things too and at first I was like oh jeez but then I just got used to that as well okay but yeah skip to season two come back next week and tell us what you think all right I will I think it's I might even watch one after this look it wasn't bad but I even the theme song has grown on me I [ __ ] hated that theme song for a long time I still don't think it's good it's just it's just familiar now but it's also nice when that it does change up and he's in another style yeah

you see what they do with it sometimes and every now and then they like say the lyrics of the theme song Just in dialogue and you go ah like stuff like that it's just a neat little show I like it yeah guest stars out the [ __ ] ass as time goes on [ __ ] everybody okay oh speaking of which last week I mentioned I was on my David Tenant kick and I'd watched staged which was a great show only St David ten and michelen umon obviously did so well season is full of famous people very famous people not as funny though but you should still watch season one I think I will speaking of David Tenant some dror Hugh news oh that didn't come out right

Dr Dr I'm dror Hugh isn't that house yeah very good uh Jody Whitaker I mean as is normal is leaving Doctor Who soon uh cuz she'll have done three seasons I think and uh and that's that's that's what that's about the average now is it three seasons is it yes I believe I mean well I mean there haven't been that many I guess you've got what did one e did one yeah that's right and then he hated it so we left and and audien has hated kdi so there's that well pretty mixed on Jody Whitaker too I haven't seen hers yet I'm I just know that I mean it's quite it's the dialogue around is [ __ ] toxic as hell because oh yeah sure I think I've seen I've seen criticism of it like I said I haven't

watched it but I've heard criticism of it and I'm like that seems fairly reasonable as women can't be doors no I've it's time not time lady I've read other criticism where I was like you're just don't like women yeah yeah for sure who cares [ __ ] off I like J Whitaker I mean I've not seen her Doctor Who but I've I've seen many other things she's been in and she's great right Charming absolutely Charming she's great in uh broad church for example yeah that's right yeah yeah yeah so yeah mixed mixed reviews some of them people with invalid criticism some with criticism I was like okay fair enough because it's mostly about characterization that kind of stuff that's fine uh I'm but's the thing what are they going to do now h a child it'll

be a child is this going to be black child I've got to top it somehow they cuz here's the thing Doctor Who is not very good right like I love it right I've been hearing L and less about it for like the last but it's not good and whichever Doctor Who you started watching first is your doctor right most people started watching Tom Baker because he was there the longest right so that's everyone's doctor right I I had The Misfortune of coming in in the Sylvester McCoy era right so he's my doctor and he's he's if not the worst certainly one of the bottom three but I still love him right so if if you like David Tennant or if you liked um nobody liked Peter but mat Smith you're going to hate Jody Whitaker like that's just how it works so you you're on a

collision course from day one if you take the role of Doctor Who which I assume is why you probably won't like her either yeah if you're the kind of Doctor Who nerd who has never had a girlfriend and if you are one of those Doctor Who nerds you know I'm talking to you if you're one of those people who will say actually his name is not Doctor Who it's just the doctor if you're that guy you probably do hate women yeah yeah so I it's not unusual for a doctor who a do for the doctor to be replaced every 3 years so I don't think it's just news on its own I mean it's you don't expect it to be there for more than two or three years that's just how it works with doct who uh I'm just interested to see are they still making more because I think

so 100% cuz in the past you sort of heard about when like a new doctor's coming on but I haven't heard any talk of that no so I'm just wondering if maybe interest has started off a little well she hasn't filmed her last season right the her last season hasn't aired yet that's right this this will be the last one I believe she has given a lot of notice here yeah but they'll need to know before they shoot it though because they've got a [ __ ] well actually no that might not be true either because what they usually do defin they sh they usually do no no but they yeah so they can shoot the whole season and then worry about her regenerating which is what that's called if you're not a doctor who fan the doctor for those who don't know the doctor he's a Time Lord

he dies he regenerates into another actor quite convenient if you're TR maintain a TV show for 60 odd years yeah or revamp a TV show that hasn't really done so well with the last lead actor you can just make the same TV show with a different actor and no one can complain I mean home and away manag to pull that off several times we've got some Home and Away news coming up later in this episode I know I know unfortunately or do you want to do it now you do it now the other do think I was going to point out is and I think this is where some of the the issues you've got two things you got she's the first female doctor ever right and then so there's some kind of you know you so criticizing her you kind of get people are skeptical at first of your motivations when you criticize the

show Doctor Who's not female cuz the other thing is though it's a new showrunner she so she started with a new showrunner and then so like a lot of the also leaving right so and a lot of the criticism that was just about the show in general a lot of people paint it with the sexism brush so I think it's been a little bit of a weird one this if you say that you don't like the jod Whitaker Seasons because they're not as [ __ ] serious then you need to go back and rewatch whichever season you like well it's more like the main criticism that I've that I've seen and like I've said I've seen little clips and it seems reasonable is that she's got three companions with her the doctor usually has companions or one or or no a couple he's had and a robot

yeah uh and well Matt Smith had two right he had Amy Capi had several yeah well J wi she's got three and then basically it was ten had criticism was that that's like it was always a young beautiful girl and then tenant's like [ __ ] it I got this old woman but then and I love her I love her she uh the the the new companions are just they just say Exposition they're not characters and they're not consistent they don't behave in a consistent way and they've puted out examples of it and I'm like well that's like I said I haven't watched it but that seems like a reasonable criticism but you can't have a reasonable

criticism of it because it's it's a woman doctor so shut up K9 so I don't I don't yeah I I I haven't seen it as I said Matt so I mean none of what we're saying called any Wass at all but watched a bunch of clips watched a bunch of clips and I tend to agree with that from what I've seen uh cuz the the companions make it I mean that's why the eckleson series was so good because the companion Billy Piper for say what you want about her what saw comp comparisons between particularly Billy Piper's character and Rose and and the new ones and was like look here's Rose she's a character she has reactions to things that are happening and look here's the new ones they just say words when something needs to be explained to the audience the plot would have change if

it was anyone else other than Rose in that scenario right yeah that's and that's the criticism that I'm seeing that I'm like well that's that's why I'm not particularly motivated to watch the new one her her character they they brought in this great thing which I don't recall ever happening before which was that she was in love with the doctor and when he regenerated she was like I don't know if I'm in love with you now this version of you which was really interesting and then there's that great sequence with tenant where he's trying to figure out what kind of a person he is now these they did some good stuff where really really [ __ ] stuff as well yeah yeah it's tradition I've seen like a couple episodes here and there like maybe some of the movies and stuff

but really have not watched it since came Luke you would love the books I mean that the books from the ' 70s and 80s that were like spin-off picture books cuz I got they got words Luke used to read a lot of science fiction novels I know he did I don't know why he's pretending he can't read now one thing I've actually just started doing recently is I've started to listen to audio books so when I'm on my scooter I've got I listen so just to and from works I listen to about half an hour a day but I start listening to air to the Empire oh Timothy and my friend Timothy my God that is so it's so good but then it also makes me sad because of what Star Wars now is yeah yeah I'm surprised

you can still get an AUD audio book of Ed of the Empire um it's you can still buy all of them they're all available and actually just recently got them on a Humble Bundle at some point yeah and I think um actually they just released Air to the Empire again as a re-release for its 20th anniversary or something yeah right cuz it came back in ' 91 Timothy's AR still going too by the way he wrot books that's 30 years by the way not 20 oh maybe it was 30 maybe it was 25 yeah they still get Timothy Z to write the new books too yeah which didn't he write the rise of Skywalker novelization or something that came out time yeah he writes all he's written all the new thrawn books he's writing cuz they brought are they paying are they paying

because they're not paying Al de Foster anymore yeah maybe no they paid him yeah but no they're still using his characters like gr uh grandal thra he's still part of Canon and stuff like that it must have St when and they were like by the way Tim uh the stuff you wrote didn't happen and he's like what M except for this which we like the blue alien with the red eyes so he's we love him yeah which yeah it's it's it makes it so confusing for someone like me I don't understand Star Wars anymore because I've got the books and a lot of the books like there were ones about the Clone War so even from the animated cartoon series they sort of fleshed that out a bit more and really enjoyed it and now some of it's there some of it's not and yeah they mix up all the Mandalorian

law right I heard yeah like cuz the mandalorians were actually quite awesome and they' sort of come back to that a little bit do we have a jingle for middle-aged men talk about how Star Wars was better in their day and also do who Star Wars middle-aged men critique the female Doctor Who without having watched it haven't seen I think that's a genre of podcast I think yeah for sure and we're now I'll say this Jody Whitaker the only thing that disappoints me is actually the same thing that disappointed me about Christopher eckl and I love his doctor is that he's not a woman Dan yeah and that's what I didn't like about him no I um the the doctor has to wear something wacky and eckl was too cool and jod Whit is just normal she's just a

age 47 and I was like hold on hold on you can't be the drummer for slipnot and then die peacefully in your sleep in your 40s uh Peter steel died peacefully in his sleep and uh Jimmy the Rev from uh Avent sfold also died peacefully in his sleep H and they might not have been taking on the day static Also may have though the same thing but what I was going to say is the cause of death I think in both of those cases was Prior well basically their hearts failed because they done too many drugs in the past so wasn't an overdose it was just yeah you ruined unless they're try to cover gave in yeah exactly so unless they're trying to cover something up that's what those people static I I I managed to forget

said oh hey how are you and she said oh good how are you I said good what you went up to we start we had a bit of a and then she go yeah and then she got her sandwich and she left and then um the guys from work were like how do you know her and I said oh actually to be honest I don't know I think maybe I went to school there or something and they were like she's from home and away and I was like you're like that's why I don't know I don't even know from watching the show I know because I've seen don't know who that is I've Just Seen Her On TV and I don't yeah you're right I don't know her so was she someone was she our age or she must have been if you school with her she was was it that young girl girl from the one that ended up in a sex

tape with that football player I don't know oh that's where I knew it from no I'm not sure uh but that was I mean I guess not really embarrassing cuz she'd already left by the time I figured out I didn't know who she was left the sandwich shop or left neighbors left I think it might have been more embarrassing for her but that's what I'm saying but not really because she she's like oh that I just met a fan today right she doesn't know that yeah but if she hadn't found out that you didn't know you just thought you went to school it probably would hurt that would probably Crush I re that happens all the time I was I was listening to an interview with Bruce Campbell who was going people come up to

him and go are you famous and they've never seen Evil Dead they've just seen his chin on on TV and they want to come up and talk to him and that must just be awful you know he is in various things so I guess yeah like Psych is he mhm he's not in the episodes I'm going to skip is he hold on no no you're fine I haven't even watched the one he's in yet so oh okay I watched a couple things that are on uh Prime actually I remember another one that I've popped in here uh I watched well I watched The Grand Tour lockdown and I know Luke watched that also so I watched that as well the good thing i' cuz I've been seeing ads for that for a while now finally came out I sat down

and watch it but what I found out when I was watching it is I missed an episode so did I the one in um in um Madagascar yeah I don't know like this one they the first one they advertised like crazy this one they did one just completely missed it so we watch both of them yeah look I really like The Grand Tour I like those guys are entertaining uh you know I know some people don't like him cuz Jeremy Clarks can be an ass they hate Jew but yeah cuz yeah he's a [ __ ] with but that's that's that's but they've got he never pretended he's not a [ __ ] with that's the thing no you're right he never claimed he never claimed he wasn't one yeah but you've seen a few of these like they've tried to do other versions of their show and have that that chemistry there it's just not they've got it down so

well fake I mean well not fake right because they they're very ad that it's not fake no but they I mean they they obviously from from what I understand it's real they film all the stuff but obviously they playing it up and they they yeah yeah they know what they're going to do lot of it ANS yeah a lot of it's performative you know but like you know when the cars break or whatever I mean they can't fake that like a lot of it no so especially the madas they know what going to happen how or where's car you know tread things disintegrating you can't fake that like so yeah yeah yeah yeah they they push things to the limits and hope there there's some happy accidents but it's quite funny like seeing on one of the ships where you just see the amount of cars and support

vehicles that were actually there it's not just them driving with camera it's them and in the lockdown one it was during Co and so they all they've all got Caravans and then there's that bit where they show the Convoy of [ __ ] Caravans that's the crew and everybody all going up the highway and it's like [ __ ] hell it's like I've always wanted to see behind the scenes of man versus wild to see just how many Creature Comforts are on the other side of that camera yeah yeah I wonder about that too because I mean I don't believe that those three guys actually sleep in the car or whatever when I'm I'm sure they're at a fivestar hotel in the evenings well I I don't think so no no I I okay

yeah something happened and I was like okay this is actually quite compelling you guys have being very vague so this must actually be quite yeah but there's also no reason to build that bridge like that was just oh no got there inconvenience yeah exactly they were just they're trying to get from they they they're driving across Scotland right and they've got to get basically from I think from the aisle of Sky to another no not even they caught a ferry from I love Sky to another Island like out out way out north and then they had to get from one bit to another and there was like ocean in the middle so they built a bridge to drive their American um cars over their big Cadillacs and uh it's [ __ ] hilarious and I was waiting for something to go horribly

wrong and it it didn't go horribly wrong but it went wrong went wrong I was waiting for it to go horribly wrong good it went wrong enough no I do I do like it and I don't mind the longer they're doing the special St not just the smaller show but they're too far apart yeah well they're not I don't know how I missed the second I don't know how I missed the second one the Madagascar one just doesn't the only one that Madagascar Madagascar Say It Again Luke the Madagascar One The Pirate Treasure one they're looking for a pirate treasure it was particularly good because it was where they really modif the vehicles and and like went Offroad

and all that that was it was actually really good I can't believe they do that that [ __ ] Bentley and and oh I was like not the Bentley [ __ ] man so British it's his beautiful car and he puts his huge [ __ ] wheels on it and like a roll cage and he's just going through the [ __ ] [ __ ] like Jungle of Madagascar and this Bentley it's hilarious yep give us more of that yeah oh they will they will what's going on with the main uh what's going on with top gey these days nothing I don't know because they tried to everyone's watching the grand people in and then it just they they don't have that history that that connection where they can just talk to each other they're like these people don't hate the Jews but they're not as

entertaining yeah they just don't feel natural like they're you you they're trying to act like the people that they're replacing yes and it just doesn't work instead of just trying to yeah they like maybe it's not those three maybe it's just cars that people like no oh all right yeah oh actually most of our audience don't give a [ __ ] about cars that's right I like cars but uh they're fine I drive a car but I find those guys funny yeah I watched another thing that's on Prime uh it's called jolt and it's what is that I've been seeing the trailers for that qu was watching that and I was half watching while I was doing something else mhm it stars keep back in sale the only reason I paid any attention to it it's the reason Jenna wanted to watch

it and uh it's fine it's a it's a not fine it's [ __ ] garbage it it seemed like it wanted to be John Wick uh except they decided not to actually shoot any of the action and what they did shoot they decided not to have Kate Beck Andale do any of it uh so it really didn't have that that John Wick feel where you know John Wick you're watching K Reeves fight people this just felt like the camera's now behind the stun joh Wick is literally directed by Ki Reeves's stunt double right yeah so this was just a goofy silly sci-fi is action thing I I I I enjoyed it it wasn't do you want to give us the ridiculous premise uh she's got a medical condition where she uh can't control her I think

adrenal glands so whenever something annoys her she has to beat the [ __ ] out of the person that annoyed her so I mean you know I can relate so yeah so she gets this uh she gets this uh experimental Stanley Tui gives it to her because apparently they drove a truck of money up to his house that's right and it's got It's y Tui keep Beck andell and then uh J Courtney is the other guy she basically zaps herself to to calm herself down and that works for some reason but then she starts dating this guy who's actually nice and they get along and then he gets killed and then she's like well I'm going to go kill the people that killed him and she uses her

uh superpower I guess you would call it Angry punching and kicking yeah to uh to get Vengeance and that's that's what it's about okay well I might if it's so just a something I could probably you like it it's the plot of John Wick but replace the dog Courtney and with Beck and the director with not the director of John Wick okay Matt Matt I see your John Wick ripoff and I'll raise you go a movie I watched this week called pig pig which stars and Matt please get ready to play I think I know who Nicholas Cage jingle well Nick Cage walked into the room in he asked of

his manager is there any Nick Cage news Nick Cage's manager turned to Nick Cage and said of course there's Nick Cage news Nick Gage is the biggest movie star in the whole wide world and things are only going to get bigger now take a look at this script right here it's about a manmade of wicker okay yeah I think I saw a screenshot from this so you guys love Nicholas Cage I I have loved him and I've loathed him and I don't understand he's loud Luke watch Pig he barely says a word and honest to God he should get an Academy Award for his performance as a man who's a truffle Hunter whose Truffle

Pig gets stolen and then he just go [ __ ] psycho now is that what this about yes all I have to watch this yes you do you both do and every listener has to watch it it is a legitimately good movie but this is not Conair right this is not him just hammer it up this is a poignant and and subtle there's a couple of Nicholas Cage moments where you're just like no other actor could have performed this role but yeah for most of the movie I'm just watching it going I don't know where this is going and I really really hope for all our sakes that somebody gets him his Pig back all right I don't think I'm going to like this I might you will it's excellent all right we have Nicholas Cage I've got I've just got a

Nicholas Cage is both the best and the worst actor in Hollywood the worst and I think it must come down to the direct same movie yes yes yes did you watch Mandy yes Mandy's magnificent yeah yeah Luke this watch this is more don't watch no it's this is not like Mandy but it's weird yeah this is not weird but it's also not classic Nick Cage cuz Mand is actually similar in premise except not at all when you boil it down like so it's Nicholas Cage and something he loves is taken from him and he seeks Vengeance that's the plot of pig from what I hear and it's the plot of Mandy but they could be more different correct

correct and actually in pig he he doesn't actually want Vengeance he just wants his [ __ ] pig back just give me my pig and I'll go home right like the plot of um of uh what was that Tony J movie about his elephant oh um onuk no no no no onak is the is was before that this one's um no hak's the elephant one right or which one the one where there's like a 12-minute shot in in the spiral staircase of a hotel I think that's that's the one I'm talking about but I don't think it's I think maybe it's just called is it called the elephant something Tom it's called I think it's got a tie name yeah it might be called The Elephant in English I think it just had a tie name when I watched it okay

to all of the critics not that that means anything cuz they said that about I'm not going to name the name of movies but they've said that about other movies that that weren't good but like the Academy Award winning Suicide Squad no not about that no apparently this is really good people are loving it so my favorite 180 while we're on that is the Matrix sequels or specifically the second one Matrix Rel oh yeah where everyone who saw it in advance went this is amazing it's going to blow your mind and then it came out and everyone hated it and they're like yeah now that I've watched it again I realized it's it's crapola yeah you're right it is garbage yeah you know but I have been seeing like even when there was like test screenies coming out and people sort of

saying what they thought you we were seeing good feedback yeah so this is doing as far as superhero movies go so far this is the highest rated one ever wow really that's yeah yeah yeah so that's quite good ever and and people have yeah yeah yep the previous highest rated one I think was Wonder Woman cuz people just love that well I mean that blows my [ __ ] mind but sure yeah Wonder Woman wasn't even the best Wonder Woman movie but uh yeah apparently so yeah the PRI oh sorry hang on dceu film was Wonder Woman okay oh okay no no it's still the best right so black panther yep and Avengers endgame were 96% uh this is

99% wow wow but with this I'm never ever going to go off critics cuz me and critics we don't see ey to eye on all the stuff actually on all stuff I wasn't going to say it but I'll just say three words The Last Jedi that's all I'm going to say so so I will wait to see what I think in other words Disney's last chance so yeah I guess uh James gun good stuff mate congratulations when does this come out because we're in complete lockdown and all th this week I think this week this week the fifth yeah yeah this is going to start getting see at the movies it's on HBO Max so we don't have HBO Max unless it's on you'll have something but that means you'll be able to get it from somewhere it's called The

we do have some Marvel news uh specifically we have some black widow news specifically we have some we have some scholet Johansson suing Disney because yes Black Widow didn't make enough money because they didn't put it out at the cinema and she feels that's a breach of contract well it sounds like it might be I thought I saw something where she came out and said yeah it might be but it's called Co people oh I'm sure they would have preferred it to come out at the the cinema see I don't feel bad for her if she felt like she was going to get more she still got paid $20 million for it that's a lot of money be that as it may according to this article they're saying that she missed out on roughly $50

million but that's which is a lot of money but but but he he think about this if I was to spend $1,000 a day every day for 20 years how much would I spend $7.2 million but here's the thing wow that's not the point that does ,000 that actually doesn't matter because if if they had a contract it doesn't matter that that's a lot of money these people are getting paid far too much M contct doesn't matter it up with capitalism if if if I you and I have a contract that says I'm going to pay you $100 million and then at the end of it here's a million a million's a lot of money you should probably just be happy with a million it works she still got paid what she was agreed to no she didn't that's the point well that she's saying it could have paid more no no no

she's not no no what she's saying is the contract says it will be released in theaters exclusively and her her P she's essentially saying yeah you voided percentage of the box office take correct and you're saying you didn't put it just in cinemas you put it in in cinemas and on streaming most people watch it on streaming I don't get any money from that therefore you breach a contract cuz I was supposed to get a percentage of all the sales she's correct but this is one of those ones where you can be right and an [ __ ] or you know like well it's I I think yes maybe but also I think this is also one of those things where if she doesn't do this it sets a precedent where they can just do this and and they will use this to get out of paying people cuz they've

done [ __ ] like this in the past that's right we always talk about Studios sell the the rights to a story to another studio and then the other studio is like well I didn't buy the [ __ ] debt that head to the author yeah that kind of thing yeah yeah well Emma Stone is apparently considering suing over crella which I assume is a film and I assume also got released on screaming so she's going to do that but also Gerard Butler has come out and said that he's going to sue Millennium films over Olympus Has Fallen which came out in 2013 because he reckoned that even though he did make a considerable amount of money from it that it probably made more and he's probably owed more Al so he just thinks he should get more money correct

not um that movie was terrible made a lot of money though I've not seen it I know what it is I've not seen it either Matt I'm actually surprised you haven't seen it because this is the kind of movie that everyone acknowledges as garbage but then occasionally you occasionally you just come in and go no this is really good I maybe I'll watch it uh he was the president in that right or was he or I don't I don't know isn't that something about the it's about the White House being taken over or something right top roasting movies are also Sci-Fi movies so they even got one of two ways you even got Avatar and Star Wars or you have a Blade Runner like yeah but see and then Blade Runner is so successful later and like in in like DVD and video

sales which is not a thing anymore unfortunately no Blade Runner 2049 right not a success however I think going be I think it was a [ __ ] success in all way I wanted it to be but just we not for are we going to talk about the fact that there's a third Blade Runner movie now but it's animated oh the animated one yeah I don't know how I feel I couldn't even watch the trailer yeah it's like literally an anime style I think it's actually Japanese studio right it's like it's literally anime yeah yeah it's literally an I I got nothing against anime but it's just Blade Runner isn't anime you know correct yeah it looks like a fan film skip that yeah right I quite like I didn't even watch all of the little short films that were your meant to watch in between the other Blade Runner

movies yeah to pick up on the the backstory but yeah look unfortunately I think June's going to suffer the sort of same fate as blade run in 2049 where it's not going to be it's going to be you guys probably going to love it but it's not going to do well me well that's the only reason that concerns me that actually would not give a [ __ ] about that except I know that this is only the first half of the book and they want to make the the second half and if it's not successful they won't so y That's the only reason it bothers I think it might have come better if they did the simous release I think they would make more money people going and then people just paying to watch it at home well we also don't want a very expensive first half and then a cheap knockoff second half

that's right just watch anime just watch half and then we'll just the second half of David Lynch's film on the end of it oh Christ the role of what's his name what's that kid name Traders no no no I meant I meant the actor um Timothy mlin oh Timothy shag no no no I was Timothy shag will be played by kyl mclin from after intermission the man with the strange eyebrows will be play played by Brad Duff not in Prosthetics it's just what he looks like we saw The Lion King last year um 40 years too late Dan you know the first the first act I had I had seen it before but to be honest but uh uh I'm not a huge fan of The Lion King the film or the play to be honest with you i' it's not my favorite Disney but um anyway I

have seen it twice last year saw it and as you know the first half the First Act uh simber is a little kid the second act is a man um played by an actor of a completely different race and I know that shouldn't matter but it did because he had an accent yeah right little black boy turns into all the d a man oh gosh took me right out of it the new yeah never even thought about it the Lion King anyone watch the favro Remake no and I'm not going to no you know what I almost watched me I almost watched this wig just so that I could review it here I almost watched Jungle Cruise oh did you watch that yet luk oh I I saw that and I was very tempted to purchase that to watch and I've gone it's not for me same same in fact Got The Rock in it that's all you need just

because the Rock is in it no it looks awful changed around I saw a review this week that said not even Emily Blunt could save this movie like she's somehow the Pinnacle of acting I was going to say since I mean I like Emily Blunt a lot but really we're putting her above the rock as far as just [ __ ] just box office drawer yeah like which is just so Charming but I hovered over it about to click on it and I'm like I don't even know what this is about let me just watch the trailer went to YouTube watched the trailer and then was like no way no way we're not the target audience for this it's for young fames actually you guys are very soon going to be the target audience definitely a kid movie no my my child will be watching Blade Runner just wait for Shrek on repeat

going to go see Dune Shrek you [ __ ] wish mate it'll be films we've never heard of that we have no my my good friend's kid just wants to watch Cars 3 on repeat yep yes even not even cars cars three yeah yeah we have a listener who whose kid only likes the cars sequels which apparently are not kids do kids will have like the one thing they want to just watch on repeat yeah they like watching other stuff but they've got their one goto go with Bluey you can't get wrong with bluee at the moment like I said we'll just heavily restrict what is allowed to watch that can't possibly go wrong yeah that's right work for the Mormons scientologists Battlefield Earth that's actually the only movie that exists
