Fallout Alopecia: Shatner Goes to Space & Fall of the House of Usher

I'm going to apologize for next week now welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy what are you going to have done next week well there's a very good chance I won't be here that's all right there's a very good chance Matt and I will just start the podcast and not mention that and then halfway through remind people that you're not here yes and that's why I'm announcing it now so you're planning on still being alive obviously despite the way yeah and I don't know why it made it so creepy so when you come out of this surgery Luke you're going to have

something slightly bigger or something that's slightly smaller well a couple of years ago they put some bone into me and put a plate in yeah they did plate annoys me I want the plate out fair and so they've just gone yeah sorry yeah so I'm going in Monday morning so I should probably go to bed early night before surgery that's fair I'm thinking you'll probably also be cranky because you're probably going to be on uh you're probably going to have to fast and you'll be on a clear liquids diet and that doesn't include gen and tonic no it doesn't they're going to be very they're going to be very specific with you to say gen and tonic does not count as a clear liquid I'll just drink it straight it's fine the tonic I'll give you no bubbles

no I will be good no alah hole I have should get up early and that's the part I don't like that does it every week I was going to say it's 6:30 right now what time do you have to get up uh like 4:30 oh all right all right it's worse like get up get ready like shower get there for like 6 then sit around for hours that's the way it normally works H I also I also had to set my alarm and wake up to do this podcast today because my schedule's all over the [ __ ] place right now I bet it is is it your schedule or the baby schedule well they're one and the same at this point it will normalize I can assure you of that I mean it's normalized to this at this point well I guess probably

shouldn't assure you of anything because 25 and move out cuz I guess they're all different but mine has normalized quite well yeah no that's good there's hope yours is getting big yeah I know a forehead of hair tell me about it she doesn't fit any [ __ ] clothes anymore oh yeah that happens yeah tore through them literally I mean not not physically I just mean like metaphorically she's grown through a she did Hulk out no no no oh you should have done that every time that you realize you should have just popped her in one that was slightly too small and just let it go yeah well you can do it with yours yeah yeah I will she does have these kind of like bulging fat rolls that do look like she's really muscular

so same fat rolls I've got that make me look muscular yeah makes my stomach look extremely muscular that's right my abs hiding under the Kake yeah my baby loves laying on my stomach because there's nothing firm about it whatsoever you know it's like like she's laying on a giant marshmallow it's like I'm on a cloud oh so have your week been jent um all I have been doing is playing Far Cry 6 yeah I want to ask you about that cuz actually I thought you and I might have been playing the same game today Luke and now I find you've been playing Far Cry 6 I brought Alan Wake I started playing El wake I really enjoyed it and then Far Cry 6 came out and I went I'm going to play that instead and I don't know if I like it or not I love

Al wake I was enjoying the start of that but Far Cry 6 I don't know it's not like previous ones isn't it a little different I think it's I don't know I I normally when I get a farc game I'm pretty much finished it by the time we get around to the recording I've done nothing in this game like I've maybe about quarter of the map is shown to me m i mean you've obvious been doing something I've been doing things but not prog [Music] just before to play Far Cry 4 and five and then you finally got around to it and enjoyed it do not play this one okay I don't think you will both both of you

I don't think you will enjoy this I'm playing it and I'll finish it yeah and I'll probably get a you've taken one for the team yeah yeah he plays it so that we don't have to yeah I I just I don't think you guys have got the time for it I definitely AG very big game I haven't played there's more of Far Cry five that I didn't have time for yeah and this just seems I don't know a bit more spread out and I purchased a game this week and I played five minutes of it and that's no Metroid dread switch Metroid on the switch I yes and I played a little bit and I I mean it looks [ __ ] beautiful and it's Metroid so I hopefully will find time to play it but mhm it does look that's one those on that you need to get give a lot of time

to as well yes yeah correct yes the problem I think with that one for you is the fact that you'll play it for a bit progress put it down for 6 months pick it back up go how do you play the hell was I doing and put it back down that's my prediction yeah I don't want it to come true but no I'm have a feeling I think you're probably right but uh we'll see yeah I couldn't resist it's it's a new Metroid game I love can't help it well I did your trick this week Luke that you were just talking about in terms of you know playing the game for 10 hours and not actually progressing the story except I did it in reverse I finished the sinking city today oh you did yeah I finished it but I mistakenly finished the main story while I still had some side quests hanging there that

I wanted to complete um and now I can't go back because um oh because it ended that's why with games like that I will use a walk through so I don't end up in that situation yeah I mean in hindsight I probably could have predicted the moment you know the point of no return and you're enjoying it you don't want to stop and go you don't want to turn into Luke yeah yeah that's why on the one hand I think you know when cyberp punk for example came up with that message that said by the way once you go in through this door you can't do anything else so that's useful but on the other hand it's also kind of breaks the immersion and it also made me think I've got so much [ __ ] to do to how overpowered am I going to be when I eventually come back here well the story

wasn't that long no I suppose not when you've focused on the story it's it's the living world and doing everything else that where the game play is Fallout 3 had a similar message if I recall mhm well there was yeah there was Fallout 3 where you died and then they released DLC and went oh no you actually lived yeah that's right all right but before you start that big battle it would say make sure you do anything else like don't follow the big robot if you've still got stuff to do yeah I love that big robot know so great the the the robot of [ __ ] democracy y God give us another Far Cry um and Fallout yeah I was going to say youve you Far Cry stop winging I mean we could all play Fallout

76 um oh yeah we could not quite the same though they've got that new worlds thing we didn't talk about this on the podcast I think I sent a link to you they've got some new worlds thing and I want I wanted to check it could be worth looking at yeah I don't know if they're persistent cuz the problem before was that they the worlds weren't persistent so like if I pay for it I've got to be playing it for you guys to play it and that's [ __ ] stupid well if you're doing it on x box as part of Xbox game pass you get a month free okay interesting of the world's thing but what is that what is that extra cost money thingy that Fallout half uh fallout first I think it's called yeah do that's what you get free for do we all have to have Fallout first

for it to be no I don't think so but well I don't know about the new thing the way that it worked before is that somebody logged in had to have it I think otherwise the world would just go away after 10 minutes yeah you logged out and then we'd have 5 Seconds to get our [ __ ] together before the world disappear around us and it's like well that's not really what we want what we want is like what we had with Conan except except actually functional where the world's just there all the time for us to around custom worlds okay so custom worlds custom worlds take on the personalization of private servers to a whole new level granting active Fallout first members access to Fallout worlds features to build their own personal

alopecia you said it Appalachia Appalachia you might have you might appala I KN that's a word appal is where my house is um music for World long list of settings Place create their own worlds um Fallout more active Fallout can invite friends and teammates to check out the worlds even if those players aren't fall out first members active members can also continue playing on worlds with friends as a shared world even if they're offline there you go okay so this might be something that uh we should check out so it just sounds like we just need the first membership and only one of us needs it mhm well let's give it a shot get you get three months out of it real time followup uh my house is not in

Appalachia it's on the Appalachian Trail which I guess leads to Appalachia Appalachia is Appalachia a place or or is it a mountain range region a region from like just part of New York down all the way into like Alabama and Mississippi like a when I think through the country I think of banjo playing toothless Hicks yeah I don't know if I'm right about that I don't always play my banjo Dan but uh often I'm not always toothless no sometimes I put them in it really just soon before at 76 they just listened to everyone going it sucks that you have to be online and then just changed it so you didn't have to always be online yeah yeah great they're like but if but if you don't want to be online you got to pay for it yeah but

yeah I I bought Alan Wake this week too um was Keen to get started but wanted to finish sinking city was enjoying sinking City I'll stick to my review that I gave a couple of weeks ago I wouldn't call this a good game but I really enjoyed playing it and I'm glad I finished it now um popped Alan Wake On afterwards and man if there was any game aimed at like studious 40-year-old men it's Alan Wake you know sure it's weird going back and playing Ellen wake it's a game again like it's not just like with Far Cry 6 it's very much on ra I get here I get that whereas this it's I want to explore the world but actually explore it not just hit pick a way point go there collect that move on mhm so I guess I'm going to have to play

this again it's um it looks very pretty it's lovely um you know and I I love playing as an author I love playing as a as a stepen king uh ripoff author um you know collecting pages of my own books you seen some of the QR codes that are in yes I have seen a QR code or two they are sort of hinting at their possibility of an allen wake 2 because remedy have sort of done well with like control I don't know if you played control that was very strange in the same sort of vein of Alan Wake and I've got Alan Wake coming out again I downloaded control because it's on Game Pass but I haven't played it yet it's strange okay and does feel a bit Alan Wake with the guys that you fight oh okay interesting it's the same thing where people are sort of taking control of so it's Alan waight that

you're a sexy chick that must be right up your alley Luke yep that's how all Gam should be Alan Wake 2 Alan woke and he's just on Twitter yelling at people I don't think he ever found is it Alice yeah it is Alice yeah it's Alice I don't think he ever found her just ends spoilers I don't remember how it ended like I I don't remember either so I'm looking forward to I'm not sure I did either that's the whole point of the game so kind of ruin it if I you got to find something yeah I'm just looking forward to just sort of playing through getting to the end of an episode and just listening to music maybe you find yourself the music in this game is it's wonderful it's wonderful music oh yeah

um oh Alex Pet's his name I'll let you look it up so you sound smart y yeah Petri aleno had his name the wrong way around Petri aleno yeah he's [ __ ] dope he's good Wonder actually the control soundtrack is very good and so is the Quantum break soundtrack which is another right yeah Quantum break didn't do quite as well and I think that's because they focused on side yeah they tried way too hard with the gimmick mhm oh the whole thing you had to watch a TV show or something right yeah and it went for like 40 minutes like each time right and you couldn't download it you had to stream it when it first came out as well which was a pain that's right very odd here's a here's a slight

segue right yeah from Stephen King yeah in Alan Wake heard of him heard of him to G moreni yeah horror wrer author Dreamweaver one of the few people that's written more books than he's read who's cropping up in a show I'm halfway through love that show called The Haunting of blind Mana in that for playing the dead father I've completely forgotten that that's a thing well at this point he's only appeared in a photograph and one flashback right but I wanted to just talk about Mike Flanigan in general and then that might lead into some news um yes but Matt on your recommendation last week I checked out midnight mass yes I started watching the

first episode directly after we recorded and um I kept watching until I'd seen it all because it was [ __ ] excellent yeah I watched the first 15 minutes of went this is not for I didn't think it was for you but I don't know but that said it's very good yeah the problem with with 15 minutes I don't think you've really gotten to the meat of it yet but I by in what makes it what makes it so good and again Matt thank you for not saying a goddamn thing about it yeah but the things that it's about in the first 15 minutes say or even the first several episodes are not what it's actually about and I really liked that I think yeah episode something gets revealed and you kind of go oh okay this is the show I'm

watching I mean maybe like I don't again I still don't want to spoil anything and listens if you haven't watched it I mean look it's not for everybody in fact I was we're talking about it at work and I was like everyone's like oh so we should we check it out and I was like I don't know man like you're going to have to see for yourself cuz it ties its stuff into religion quite a quite heavily like it's mostly a hor story about [ __ ] Catholicism basically so it's like if you're not okay with that it might disturb you somewhat mhm that's right it's going to be hard for anyone with uh with with a I don't even know how to word it you have to be okay with yeah challenging exactly right yeah I challing [ __ ] loved it yeah

same some bits of i' I guess I know challenging is the right word but there were bits where I was like [ __ ] man I know yeah and there were bits where I was like it's a TV show they're not going to oh they did okay yeah that happened yeah yeah yeah loved it loved it um so of course I'm on IMDb trying to figure out who made it and what else they've made and I realized that there's a there's a guy called Mike Flanigan who has made a whole bunch of stuff that I hadn't seen Matt I'm assuming you knew who this was but this on my radar that's so odd I I feel like Luke have you seen blind Manor uh no I've heard of it okay cuz I know it's got Rahul in it as well so I and I know yeah see I was going to ask why Luke knows who that is what what do

you know him from he's from ibie I zombie and fun house yes I don't know what either of those are so zombie is a TV show uh about zombies fun it's good is it British cuz he's British no he's British in it yeah right fun house is uh like Rooster Teeth subid YouTube channel yeah oh okay sure sure Ro teeth is on its way out okay like big time R though they certainly did if they're still around now for them to be on their way out well yeah all the guys who created it there's only like two of them left everyone has sort of moved on and cashed I can't wait till our podcast do that cash it out right away yeah yeah yeah we're like The Wiggles there just

one old one old original cast member and then just a bunch of young people and the rest of us have just retired so I went back after midnight mass and I watched The Haunting of Hill House which M I know you said that that you thought um midnight mass might have been his best work I thought it was excellent but The Haunting of Hill House is on another level in terms of TV this is the best show I've seen in Years Years love A blind Mana I feel was weaker but still good you know why you know why why it's because he signed on as created by and didn't actually make the show and that is so obvious when you're watching it that you're watching almost like a Haunting of Hill House Fan Film so to get the created by credit you have to become the executive producer

and you have to direct the first episode and that's what he did and then somebody else does which is why this is like a paint by numbers Haunting of Hill House but just not quite getting there and it's because it doesn't have that artists touch that the other ones that are Hands-On do have right it's Mike Flanigan flavored yeah without the utter that's interesting I blind manner is the show that I think I talked about at the time we were watching it and then for some reason Netflix was like you probably just want to skip to episode 8 or something and so we were watching it and then the show finished and then I was like that was that was all right that was quite good and I was like but they never really explain this or this or this and then for some reason you

know it went back to the summary screen and I was like we've got four episodes that we haven't watched and I was like that's so interesting that's infuriating but but that we were able to follow anyway because a lot of that show is Flashback mhm well yeah that's right missing four episodes is but the way that the show is edited you'd never know you were missing a piece cuz you'd always just assume okay they're coming back to that exactly and so we then got to watch sort of a prequel to the show we had already watched that's great but that's another thing that I think this makes this a little bit weaker than hillh housee is that hillh housee has all these interwoven stories that you start to link up and Branch off and it's all very

interesting and the time is cyclical it's but and this is the same [Music] pitched him on it while they were filming BL Manor he said I'm doing this show I want you to be the sheriff and then that's how that started I do enjoy this revolving cast all three shows have essentially the same cast but some they play very different characters his wife and some other people that's right yes that's right you find people you good work well with why not yeah yeah I mean I I can only see Elliot from ET when I look at uh I now got to look the dad yeah the dad from all of them do you know what I mean it's not a spoiler but you know when I started watching midnight mass and I was like what's with

all the old people makeup I know yeah there Reon for can't you just hire an old actor for this and then after a bit it's like oh okay all right I get it yeah yeah yeah like Guy Pierce in Prometheus except they cut out all the bits where it would have made sense why you had guy pier in old man so all you're left with is conf was the oldest actor we knew yes it' be like if we made a film back in the day we' just have to have one of us in a you know in a wig could grow facial hair you're you're the dad that's it yeah Prometheus ended up so confusing and list if you don't know it's cuz there was a flashback where Guy Pierce was supposed to be young but then they never even filmed it yeah so you just left with guy piercing old man

makeup for no reason the whole movie so strange doing what I would call an absolutely decent job of an actor pretending to be really old and probably assuming that lighting and and everything would make that makeup not look silly and it didn't it just came across this really confusing why didn't you get an old man it's because he was going to be young but he's not young yeah but he was going to be all right just we just didn't get around to it why are you paying Guy Pierce money if you're not going to show Guy Pierce well that's yeah exactly that's the other thing yeah also I don't think guy Pier M's actually that much so you don't think so I think he's doing all right but he's not he's not he's not getting the big bucks yeah he he he's not like taking he

he did take home like a few million for that I mean when when him and Russell Crow starred in LA Confidential together as co-leads I'm pretty sure they said to Russell Crow don't tell Guy Pierce what we're paying you that's a great movie if no one's seen that classic film by the way I know that I saw it when I was young don't remember a godamn thing about it though oh good watch it again even if you know even if you know all the twists it's still great cuz I remember when it came out it had a bunch of people that I was familiar with in it like VI I mean yeah exact right yes that's I was about to say he Kim Basinger in there yeah mhm yeah I watched something this week that I have not had not seen before but that is

quite quite popular here at least and they're filming the sequel here soon if not now and it's Hocus Pocus so is this was there a remake or are they just doing a sequel to sequel they're filming it in Rhode Island though so everyone that normally wouldn't worken hocus poers no I haven't either but correct me if I'm wrong it was the highest grossing film of 2020 right yeah yeah I'm not I don't know see I don't really understand any of that so but but I know3 was Hocus Pocus so popular why they re-released it during the pandemic and it was just ridiculously popular they did a reunion 2020 well look this is a perfectly Charming Disney movie about three witches which it's actually quite

dark and also it's got some fairly adult humor that I wasn't expecting there's a bit where this [ __ ] witches uh a bus pulls up and they're like what is this and the bus driver's like it's a bus it could take you wherever you want to go and um or it can help you get to your wildest dreams the dialogue is ridiculous and then it's like where do you what do you ladies want and then because the witches they they want children to suck their life force and they go we want children and the bus driver goes well it might take me a couple of goes but I reckon I could take care of it Jesus that's great yeah please tell me it's a celebrity making a cameo as that bus driver uh if it is I don't know I don't know who he is

but anyway it was it's pretty good okay who thought no I've never seen it it was entertaining and yeah they're filming the sequel here around I love it there was enough enough hype generated around its re-release last year that um they're now doing a whole sequel is this Sarah Jessica Parker um yes yep bet Midler bet Midler yeah and one other Kath Jimmy I don't know who that is um by s you would I think okay yeah I failed to segue effectively earlier cuz I segued into this instead of the more obvious segue which was what Mike Flanigan's doing next oh yeah so I do want to Circle back to that and correct my mistake because I read the other day that Mike Flanigan his next work will be an adaptation of Edgar alen Po's Fall of the House of user I'm in I'm all in which sounds

great because uh Vincent Price's for the house of user is great so yes I do like a bit of Po and of course po was a huge influence on you know what my one of my favorite authors HP Lovecraft so going to shock you both doesn't do anything for me no he's no Timothy [Laughter] Z I think Timothy Z's written more books than Edgar and po I'm sure that's the case's written more books than he's red just kidding just kiddings are wonderful man I know he's he he's [ __ ] he was so patient he Rec we got him to record a little message for Luke he was very patient he's a nice man wonderful M I haven't seen him since the '90s and he was perfectly happy to lie and pretend that he did remember you visited you in

hospital yeah no this he did a signing at uh was it Fantasia oh Fantasia yeah yep I was going to say that ironically that's probably where I bought most of my Timothy Zan books from but that's not irony that probably absolutely no coincidence whatsoever that that was where they got him to why would you go to another book why would another book have him I got my um Giga NE there and I I saw it on the shelf and I went I was like oh I I'll have this I think it was it was $100 and the woman Timothy was like that'll be $100 thanks the woman goes you can have it for I think 50 if you get it out of the

store cuz I [ __ ] hate it oh wow cuz it was ugly cuz it was all it was disturbing yeah yeah yeah so I was like all right I'll take it it's it's on my bookshelf behind me somewhere so what did you pay for it I don't I honestly I don't remember I just remember that she gave me a massive discount because she she hated it just wanted to G great she found it disturbing that's the point of the Necronomicon isn't it it's got a lot of uh well it's it's just his artwork for this is this Giger is the guy who designed the alien from Alien and its sequels did some a bunch of film work it's quite disturbing and it's got a lot of um sexy stuff in it but it's not sexy it's like hor horrific weird things like a lot of

gross dicks and vaginas and things that right worked into do we need to play the genital news jingle for this it's it's really hard to explain uh just Google it yeah look just look up HR Giga g g e r have a look at some of the images and you'll you'll understand HR Giga sexy maybe don't do it at work maybe not no I mean the bus this this first page on Google is probably work safe but you'll get the idea this is still quite disturbing oh dark seed he did the work for which is a video game from the '90s he since passed away sadly he's a weird dude another thing that he um oh yeah dark seed looks amazing another thing that Giga designed was all of the grotesque Furniture in his house that he's sitting on in all of the interviews

that you ever see him do which I just love and he also did uh all the haonan stuff for hosk's Dune which obviously never manifested but some of the artwork for that is in the neonomicon as well it's just called HR gig is Necronomicon it's not the Necronomicon no no it's because um different book yeah well it's because a different shelf yeah yeah it's cuz Lovecraft never trademarked any of the things he came up with so anyone can yeah Necronomicon is in the public domain cuz he he died before any of that was a thing I guess but he's fairly still want to go after the money don't they no not in this no no they did they didn't and in fact precedent had already been sent because he while he was alive was encouraging some of his author friends like um Howard what's the [ __ ] oh it's tolk's

family oh yeah yeah that what's what's the guy that wrote um Conan I can't believe uh Robert Howard [ __ ] any anyway nerds are yelling at their [ __ ] phones at this point convinced some of his author friends to set some of their books in his world using his Mythos so by the time he died they were like well you've pretty much given this stuff away so it's open source and he was not Popular until after he died anyway Roberty Howard Roberty Howard right so Matt tell us about the Hellraiser reboot with the all female cast that they feel people are begging for I don't know they're all female the article just says they're they're doing a hell Riser reboot which I think we

can't I think we knew that already they've done um at least one film without Doug Bradley as pin head uh which I have not watched cuz the the prequal kind of film was it I I I probably should watch it but I haven't I just know that Doug Bradley got replaced and I was like well that's silly cuz he is pin head but uh now they're doing a new Hellraiser reboot Hulu is doing it cuz it did so well for nightmare and El oh God the one with um what's his name from um yeah from uh from Watchmen what's that guy the the redhead the guy who played uh for who was in that movie oh sure yeah yeah he was Freddy Krueger that's the one you're talking about yeah we never they never cuz that was a reboot restart and then one movie

never heard of it yeah I remember so little about that movie uh this is written by or sorry the story is by David goyer who has a mixed track record yeah yeah yeah he's yeah but he's done the first blade and he did uh Batman Begins and but he also he also did the third blade as far if I recall he directed the third blade which was a [ __ ] disaster yeah so but maybe he's a writer not a director yeah you got to take the script off him at at a certain point but he did Foundation as well which so far I think he also wrote the some of Alex PR's movies from memory oh he may have he's fairly prolific he's all over the place it says Dark Knight I don't think he wrote The Dark Knight or

at least he may have co-written it with Jonathan Nolan but oh okay he definitely wrote Batman be was he contracted at DC at that point and maybe he did an early oh maybe an early draft of something that they had to give him a story credit for yep yeah I going for memory so I could be very wrong but I feel like me I've never I've never heard got when Christopher Nan was like I'm going to get my brother some work yeah and I could understand if Batman Begins had some staff Riders on but by the sequel surely that was the Nolan show but anyway this uh this Hellraiser is got a lady pin head so you know okay fair enough I mean but she's called pin tits yeah the costume is slightly different

but only slightly yeah so I mean I guess I mean look I hope this does as well as the female recasting of Ghostbusters I don't know if you've got the same sort of ad that I'm seeing on this article but it's just just beneath share on Facebook and share on Twitter it goes love Hill raer stream your favorites on Disney plus well it's Hulu right yes I guess it's the same uh Hulu is owned by Disney no mine says my my popup ads say [Laughter] Hellraiser Inferno is the one I'm thinking of and it's they all sort of sort of merge together at some point for me after the third one I think I'm not

sure I was paying a whole lot of attention to them and I'm looking now it's got one star on Rotten Tomatoes so maybe I should rewatch it but I remember don't rewatch it and just remember it how you want to remember it I remember it has kind of an odd David Lynch style feel to it that I like yeah maybe I should maybe I should oh and it's got uh Dexter's dad in it at the cast now he's good actually wow there's a lot of them Hellraisers yeah yeah do you still have your semi life siiz Hellraiser uh I do he's upstairs yeah well your herul sized Hellraiser I should say he's not life siiz but he is very big for an action pad and uh I've got Freddy Kruger as well they're upstairs a nice

or daughter calls him pizza face man Fair yeah that works yeah it's Robert England not the not the new guy speaking of Dexter I showed you guys but we went through the we went in the town the where they shot the the reboot or the not the re you know the new season I I want to get psyched for that but I must admit I'm not I'm not interested in the slightest which is unusual because I love Dexter but I feel they really yeah I know but but yeah I know a lot of people are thinking this is an opportunity for them to redo the ending but for me even a bad ending was still an ending and I've moved on yeah yeah and it's still the they can't get rid of what happened unless they're going to try to do that some way still

he still behaved very oddly there and it' be like if they said now oh we're going to do re we're going to do an extra season of Battle Star Galactica or lost are going to be like well yeah those both had shitty endings and I was disappointed but like what am I going to do now yeah man a new season a lost to be wild yeah it wasn't the afterlife after all it was an [Laughter] island oh I'm just remembering the last episodes of battar Galactica what the don't don't don't do it don't do it there were bits I really liked about it but I'm looking for I'm looking forward to the reboot batt not even the last episode I haven't even re I've rewatched Battle Star a couple of times and I've not rewatched the last season yeah right actually what's happening

with the Battle Star reboot the other one is The Buffy reboot that that's gone quiet too is that still happening I watched a bit of Buffy this week I know you guys were both watching it so I popped it on while I was having dinner the other night from episode one man you forget how many like series long storyline started in the first couple of episodes yeah yeah yeah they really hit the ground running and there's a lot of um like well-known actors in Buffy with just little tiny roles you see someone pop in you get oh look at that like [ __ ] I think you get famous later I think Ben affx in uh Buffy really oh man yeah but Matt I think you mentioned this at the time it might have been offline

but um it really startled me to find that um where giles's age yes yeah almost like I relate to his character far more than I relate to a bunch of teenagers yeah far more how did he up with like dealing with teenagers I learned that uh there's only one episode of Buffy that Nicholas Brendan is not in oh and I felt like that's kind of a shame I feel bad for I mean not that it doesn't matter but I was just like oh wow so there's out of all the episodes um s michell Geller and Allison Hanigan are in all of them and Nicholas Brenan is in all of them but one and the reason he's not in it is it's it's from like I think the last season and it was the one where they all get visited by the ghost or Spirit of somebody from from their past

and Xander was supposed to get visited by remember uh Jesse his friend from the first season who died I remember that cuz that's I've watched the episode like three nights ago okay and you know that actor he's like quite a well I don't know his name he yeah he's in six feet under and he went on to do no I'm come back for that right well he I guess he wasn't available in the end but but but to at the point he pulled out it was too late and so they just to write that story we have to cut all the Xander stuff oh wow and so for that reason he's just not in that episode and I was like that's kind of shitty otherwise he would have been in all of them I heard it's probably on one of the special features on the DVDs back in the day but um they were saying how they wanted to

just let you ass or no they even asked if they could put him that character of Jesse in the opening credits for those first two episodes so that people would just assume he was going to be part of the main gang for the whole show and then when he died spoilers for the second episode you'd be like oh [ __ ] didn't last long yeah right well then they did they they were doy didn't they for Angel yeah they killed him in the first season he really died he really died so just you know but not not in the show that's why they wrote him out of the show cuz he was dead no I don't I think he after episode he dies and they come up [ __ ] in memory of the guy who played this character wait is that true they had him killed just to pull off that gag that we were talking about he was like I'm done

with this I'm done with this role I mean now with the revelations about Joss I guess I guess I believe it now bullied to death [ __ ] him to death Jesus well I mean they worked together on Roseanne so he couldn't have had too bad a time yeah I believe he had a bit of a drug problem wait Jos Weeden worked on Roseanne yes Jos Weeden wrote Roseanne who's the writer what all right I didn't know that wait say he they really wrote do out because his the character died the the actor died I think they wrote him out because he was I think as Luke says having some problems oh oh oh okay all right and then by the time it came to air I think he ODed or something should we fact check this whil we

maybe we know he died Quinn was tragically dealing with number Jenna who is going to be editing this is probably [ __ ] yelling at me as she's editing this right now according to Google we're correct yeah I thought so yeah cuz he was actually quite good in the show it was sort of a shame when they killed him off but then you sort of found out why killed especially since they did that thing that Joss became great at and and in fact it became bit of a a bit of a cliche in the end but a character that you disliked or didn't care about would suddenly he'd make you care about them immensely just before they died right oh

yeah like um Miss calendar Jenny [ __ ] uh who you were like a [ __ ] she [ __ ] betrayed him and then you're like oh she's trying to help her oh she's dead yeah that's right yeah yeah oh and then apparently she wouldn't come back later because she became a born again Christian and she was like that's a shame not playing a ghost oh wow not into that Glenn Quinn did some of the voices in X-Wing versus TIE fighter did he did he the Irish voices I guess it was a toy fer coming in he was rebel pilot number two oh and Jennifer H was in it of course she was yeah she's in [ __ ] everything everything yeah Deni Vu got some Den Vu stuff he's he's around lately because

dune's coming out he's must be feeling pretty good about himself right now and Luke um you might have to eat your hat on this one um is it out yet not here it's out in Asia and Europe and it's immensely popular it's doing very well how doing the second week I think it's third or yeah know okay damn cuz I know it sold out like the first week and I'm expecting that but it's the second week where like where where where it dies off see if it has some longevity Got My Ticket all I know is that they had they put one screening of it in the Sydney film festival for later this month and I went to the website the second it popped up on social media and it was already sold out oh man well they've been asking him about some stuff this week and uh some of was

in he apparently was worried about Blade Runner 2049 which I thought was [ __ ] fantastic but uh people were telling him Blade Runner oh you kind of you're messing with uh you're messing with an iconic franchise there that's probably not a good idea and he was like really [ __ ] they've been messing with that franchise for years but he was he was a bit worried about it so uh it was sacrilegious oh apparently Christopher Nolan said to him you're walking on sacred territory oh so I mean it's a fair point like Blade Runner was so iconic if 20149 hadn't been good that would have been a problem but he was worried he wouldn't work again afterwards if if he didn't do a good job basically yeah

right and uh they also said to him would you do a James Bond movie and he said yeah I'd love to yeah bring bring that [ __ ] on I mean this is one of those things where I mean Christopher Nolan also often gets asked that and he Al also also says sure doesn't mean it's going to happen no but actually they dad would you like to direct a James Bond movie yes I would there you go Dan says he wants to direct James Bond movie I do um I believe that the broccoli approached Nolan at some stage and Nolan said he would do it but they have to give him creative control and they said that's not how we do things here at the James Bond officers and also I would not like the ending of the

movie that's fair but also he's made a James Bond movie now because tenet was his James Bond movie sure sure so I don't think he needs to so give this to Denny Viller yeah Inception also had flavors of bond yeah or us yeah agreed I'll be a new James Bond inion has some very specific 100% I'd do it M imagine that imagine that it's like okay the new James Bond movie is being it's being written um by by three guys you've never heard of who are also in the film one of them's directing first 20 minutes is going to be amazing we won't tell you his name because you wouldn't have known it and the guy playing James Bond is this bearded redhead from Sid from formerly

of Sydney um who can't walk properly y can't ride and don't expect any stunts he's going to rely heavily on the gadgets I'm not getting out the car he rides a moped yeah be great I'd watch it let's make done a chip version of the iconic Bond theme yeah why not I mean there's plenty of good reasons why not but we're not listening to them we don't care about them our favorite character from uh Wonder division is getting her own spin-off series uh Agatha the witch wow wow oh arguably the most disappointing moment in any TV series I've watched in The Last 5 Years is where they pivoted to her people loved it at the time but I

think that's just uh at the time I mean I don't I I was acutely aware that I was in the minority when I cuz I [ __ ] hated her in it I thought she was awful [ __ ] garbage she was [ __ ] garbage but I know people did like her so fair enough did they yeah really yeah wow okay okay yeah are they just try are they just scrambling try throwing spagetti television shows going I I mean I don't think they need to do that they've got they have like some [ __ ] ridiculous amount of stuff in the works like 50 something films and TV shows going like I don't think they're I think I think for some reason people really liked her and then they were like all right let do a [ __ ] Agatha Harkness
