some leaked Indie 5 set photos that hint at a potentially rather annoying plotline yeah this this is very upsetting if if true I mean there there are various explanations for this but when I saw the photo I was just G now mat is it just me but I can't see this photo all right let me try this the article links to them but it is a little convoluted I've popped another Link in there okay and then what I'll ask you to do some of these are fairly you know it looked like an Indiana Jones movie there's Harrison Ford and there's Phoebe wallbridge mhm cuz she's in it that looks normal but keep scrolling down and then

oh sorry let me just turn off my ad blocker all the Daily Mail will freak out oh really we go they're okay with mine okay yeah Phoebe wallbridge given an elderly Indiana Jones a little bit of a back massage and then okay now we're in the Life of Brian yeah there's some uh some Gladiators I don't really have a good explanation for why there are Gladiators there and the the one that's being offered I don't like I do not like the idea that Indiana Jones has traveled back to ancient Rome no somehow I don't want that to be the movie I'll say this though just looking at this picture there's a whole lot of Roman gladiators and one Greek hoplight because that bronze helmet is

not Roman that is Grecian so yeah particularly it's Spartan so I and and and if like these photos were all taken on the same day apparently and so you've got Harrison Ford there in a parachute like it looks like he's just you know landed out of an airplane or something yeah and so maybe maybe there's like a another explanation for this he's parachuted into a costume party that's that's what I'm wondering something like that I just don't know what is going on here like two different things like yeah I I just don't know what to think but the but the what everyone's saying is oh it's a time travel movie and I really really hope that it

isn't yes well also um vampire non has said that he heard rumors initially that this was a time travel movie and didn't believe it and believes it now because of these photos so if it was if it was only that people are making that assumption off of this photo then maybe I'd say there's a better explanation but if if there was already talk that this is time travel then I'm really worried now yeah because they should have learned their lesson with aliens yes this this it could be fantastic it could be garbage it just worries me way too much based on King of the Crystal Skull and I have I'm sorry I've just scroll down to the comments right yeah okay first comment Indiana Jones and Roman soldiers in the

same movie Bad script count me out okay understandable uh this comment another franchise destroyed by woke deconstructionism wait what no not sure I'm following on that one yeah I mean we've got to include the RO yeah don't we buddy Romans complaining don't call us Romans we're not all Romulus okay yeah Marcus aelius gets his fingers into another franchise not all Romans yeah I'm not sure I quite understand what's going on there but the other set photos we saw when they filmed in Glasgow showed the Apollo 11 astronauts MH but that would be time specific would believe that Indiana Jones has survived to the 60s so that I was like okay that would be all right as long as he doesn't go to space cuz then I'm going to get annoyed

as well cuz that's silly yeah please don't go to space now looking back I suppose there was some religious magic in all three of the good Indiana Jones films yeah yeah but but that was the whole it was a subtle premise that Indie was a non-believer Who came up against these unexplainable Supernatural phenomenon Supernatural phenomenon yeah yes this is different if Crystal Skull was different right I think it didn't fit the theme in my opinion yeah at all and this certainly wouldn't fit the theme like I don't know what an Indiana Jones movie is anymore based on this yes yes if there's suddenly two of these like wacky Fringe Theory out there yeah like I thought Kingdom of the crystal scar

was a big mistake and I thought they got that message and then so if they've now done this I'm very confused what message they took away from or was I complaining and I was complaining about a different thing to all the other people who were complaining was it yeah maybe they've just taken away no shy buff but everything else was great yeah I was like I don't like this and other people were also like I don't like this and we thought we agreed on why and then now they're presenting a time travel movie and I'm like I not sure we were on the same page now well Hollywood sequels have a tendency to not know what was good about a good movie so perhaps it's true in the reverse as well that they don't know what was bad about a bad

movie they're like no fridge no shy buff and we're we're fine yeah AR of the Covenant mhm shankra Stones yep Holy Grail mhm aliens yeah okay spot the other one out traveling back in time to ancient Rome what how has this happened how did we get here now thankfully there's no photos of Indie interacting with the Romans this could be a flashback he could this could be just story mode that's what I thought that too yeah or maybe they were just filming a TV show over this is unrelated yeah maybe they just like we've booked this location shoot two things yeah a lot of nice footage that's shot in this Forest

yeah maybe the crew just felt like dressing that way and having a bit of a fight yeah who knows yeah maybe they're recreationists yeah like when we used to go down to warington Lakes on a weekend sometimes as kids and and on the off chance that there'd be recreationists down there yes and the journalist who took these photos journalist in quotes the paparazzi who took these paparazzo who took these photos didn't understand you know the context when he sent it in he said apparently Indiana Jones 5 is about making a movie about Indiana Jones that's all these people appear to be doing by the way Kudos on using the singular of Paparazzi paparazzo nice one oh cheers mate cheers yeah I'm an old man so I know I know the yeah no I'm I'm I'm into that very impressed by

that people say you're wrong but you're not I I dare you to go or Bakery and ask for a Panino put it that way they're like Panini and you're like no I only want one they just think I was an Australian Panino cisso ol have and bake his dozen of those delicious rollers yeah Nish T So this movie is scheduled to be released in July 29 which seems quite quick but maybe I'm just cynical now like that's not that far away but they're still filming it I was well they're confident I think they don't want to waste any more time I think too many movies have been held up they need him alive to that's that too yeah that too um I did know that he has pulled out of

his next film Project which worried me a little bit oh what was that film project I only know the title of it and I for gotten it already so great story okay it wasn't like it wasn't no I just I read a headline yesterday that said such and such replaces Harrison Ford and I was like oh Harrison Ford's dropping I saw I did see that I did see that and it was someone someone somewhat related to Harrison Ford from a film or something anyway yeah I do recall seeing something like that I didn't take note of the film I only took note of the fact that no I also did not just speaking of aliens there is some alien news this week is there Matt I don't know if you're familiar with the pop singer Demi ladoo I know the name you might know

the face and a song or two let me have a look JY there she is no no not at all no okay no I know virtually nothing about her other than the fact that she's um she's a pop star but she now has either a a docu series or a documentary film coming out where she explores the um UFO phenomena because of course she does right yeah um but she states evidently in that film uh that using the phrase using the word alien to describe extraterrestrials is a derogatory term in the in the same way as it's uh sure would be considered to um to describe a say a Mexican immigrant living in the

United States as an alien yeah well I mean it's not it depends on the I think it's going to become one of those words that that is used that's how they work though isn't it yeah no no no I um I think you're you're probably correct and another person who agrees with you is Neil degrass Tyson who came out and said don't presume to know what an alien would be offended by sure yeah yeah I think it depends on how you use a word and then yeah over time I guess you know that yeah they can become offensive because people use them in a very negative way and I I imagine that that word alien probably is one of those words for certain groups of people not for space aliens who don't necessarily even exist that's right yeah exactly and

in fact um Neil did go on and say if you want to just be non-offensive say space alien yeah y well I agree with n de Tyson unsurprisingly yeah yeah I agree with him on the word alien means something Beyond just creatures or imigrant like that's why that's why Dan oanon script alien which became the movie Alien it is is so poignant is because alien is both an adjective and a verb it's like a foreign entity yeah not a verb [ __ ] it's a noun and an adjective yeah it's my name I'm an alien no it's it's Allan my name's Allan capitalize alien please proper noun yeah not sure about that one well speaking of

alens uh Superman lot of Superman news this week yeah surprisingly there's a lot of DC news this week but this is not DC news I think they're expecting no I mean there's some good DC news and some interesting DC news yes so Superman uh what they've updated his motto is that yeah I mean Superman's always fought for truth justice in the American way and I think perhaps the American way is a little different now to what it used to be or more to the point is exactly the same as how it used to be um yeah but the world is mov yeah yeah yeah exactly yeah yeah uh so he fights for truth justice and a better tomorrow that's quite nice yeah that's nice yeah I like that today can go [ __ ]

itself all right yeah I'm okay that this officially they've announced this or is this yeah they have okay they really mission statement for the it's it's okay to just make it non Nation specific you know what I mean Superman's not just an American hero he a world hero yeah well he is now these days yeah he he was an American hero back yeah absolutely absolutely so yeah but I mean they changed the Justice League of America to just the Justice League so they didn't alienate overse a I'm on board yeah I got no I got no problem with that yeah I'm trying to think Australian equivalent that I'd be offended by but I really don't think there is Superman was literally War propaganda back in the wasn't he yeah and if you watch those old cartoons from the late 30s early 40s

like they're not even trying to hide it right I mean there's one there's one called Superman fights the Japs yeah I think Captain America same thing don't even pretend yeah yeah cuz Captain America predates Marvel Comics even I learned when I is that so that's interesting old man Alan Bellman who drew the comics way back when he was at Ron ComiCon huh lovely lovely lovely man I've got a signed print of uh Captain America punching Hitler in the face oh that's magnificent so did they did Marvel license him or was he a public domain cuz Marvel loved taking public domain characters I think Marvel I mean that's why there's a Thor you can't trademark Thor you can't trademark a an old Godel

still fairly yeah on the nose I guess I saw captain America was a bit of a joke and then it was only when I saw when I saw the movie like when they were doing all the Marvel stuff and Captain America I was like Captain America who cares and then I watched um you know the Chris Evans one I watched the movie and I was like oh that the way they've done that is actually I love that they did that too and it was so brave of the studio for letting them do it as a period movie you know what I mean yeah like and then like yeah he he he was that heally that character that the com that's they literally made him to be yeah yeah well played but then you've got I mean that's why I love Watchmen so much where you got Dr Manhattan who was just that on his own whim just went to

[ __ ] Vietnam and just slaughtered the whole Viet Kong on his own you know yeah yeah [ __ ] Alan Moore being like [ __ ] we like weird dark [ __ ] superheroes yeah yeah yeah superheroes raping one another yeah there is some more Superman news but well before you go on I just want to say when I was a kid I did go through a phase where at some point I saw the late 70s or early ' 80s Captain America movies and oh yes thought he was [ __ ] great and I didn't give a [ __ ] that he lived in America and I lived in Australia like I was just like yeah Captain America's great yeah but in that movie he rode on a motorbike that he kept in the back of a van like you this is this is like he was The Punisher yes and it was back when a

superhero movie could only be as cool as what a stunt man could do in real life yeah so what can he do he can ride a motorbike out of a van we could put a ramp great let's let's have him do that then cuz when they tried to do anything more than that it looks a bit silly yes yeah just keep it keep it real so the other Superman news is a bit more controversial M mhm uh there's been some talk online about it mhm there has been yeah a lot of people have noticed yeah so Superman and when I say Superman what I actually mean is apparently it's Superman's Son Superman taken over a Superman so it's not Clark K he is 100% heterosexual that's right whereas his

son has fallen in love with a a reporter uh a male reporter and is is bisexual and they've revealed that he's bisexual yeah and and fans of Superman have said we don't we don't want him to be overtly bisexual we preferred when they were just smoldering bisexual [Laughter] undertones I mean because I guess I don't care that's fine whatever um and I do enjoy the fact that it's not it's Superman but it's not Superman so they've they've been a in that sense so they're saying Superman is bisexual it's the new Superman it's Superman's son don't worry the Superman you love is totally straight yeah and all of those things you're thinking about his son he's thinking them too that's right yeah there will be an episode where he's just like Superman's

just there with a beard don't get it explain it to me again yeah yeah your girlfriend is a bloke yeah I don't understand there kind of is that anyway I I've only watched one episode of the current Superman um TV series where Superman's middle-aged and a father of two but um that exists yes yes the current Superman series that's on now is it on the CW um yeah yeah they're all on the CW I just know that existed um it's quite good it's quite from what I've seen it's quite good okay yeah that sounds interesting how I mean I know we all questioned this when Superman Returns came out and they implied that Lois Lan was had had a kid Superman yeah

how how does that work yeah and I guess it didn't happen like Kevin Smith thought it might happen in um M rats where um Jason Lee asks um I can't remember what he Stan he's like how come when Superman ejaculates in the lowest Lane it doesn't blast a hole in her back like he's shooting a shotgun into her right well Stan Lee wouldn't know the answer to that yeah he's like well we just didn't really think about those kind of things yeah well you'd have to ask someone at DC though wouldn't you stanle um okay so we did they oh yeah no he doesn't ask Stanley Sor it's earlier on the film and he's telling Brendan London about it oh oh oh okay yeah later on he asks I think he asks Stanley if the Hulk's dick gets

bigger it would be weird if it didn't yeah weird if it didn't just tin little and it's still it's still skin colored it doesn't go green yeah I'll keep my original dick because that's me it's got a little pink dick don't look at Hulk's dick yeah that's why he always keeps the pants on like the shirt tears all the way away but he's like I need to keep the little pants on to cover the Little P dick Hulk dick not Hulk's dick Banner's dick Hulk smash Banner's dick hases anyone ever drawn that I hope so hold on hold on Hulk dick what if I could comic and get Mark Ruffalo to sign

that someone has plent of people have added dicks onto existing Hulk of course a big green dick yeah not what I want Dan several people have made images of the Hulk [ __ ] the hole in the back of a cement mixer if anyone if anyone wants to see several people have made several that's a thing yeah that iconic moment from the comics where the [ __ ] a cement truck yeah and now he has two sons cement Sons yeah the gamma radiation does weird things to him I do love that the that the Hulk started off like the first Hulk we saw was just a bodybuilder painted green and

yeah with a wig on and and now he's essentially a giant yeah yeah he changed uh a bit over time because also he um I always got told I don't remember where I heard this but you know the Hulk just gets stronger and stronger you can't beat the Hulk sure like no matter his power is just that he gets he gets angrier and angrier as he fails he gets stronger and stronger because that's where his power comes from and so you can't beat him because if you say you were stronger than him you'd punch him he'd get annoyed and then he'd be stronger than you sure because he got mad yeah and that was how it was always explained to me but then in the movies he gets beat up by Thanos so I guess

that's they've nerfed him a little bit in that I guess I guess yeah someone's got to be able to beat him up that is one thing that's a bit unclear in the Marvel movies no I mean I like him I'm not picking on him too much but thanos's strength is a little bit you know elastic but I also think if Thanos is so strong how did he become so muscular because you've really got to work hard to get a muscular body I think that about Superman too when they started drawing Superman so muscular cuz Superman used to just have a regular body and actually this is something I want to talk about a bit later too but um no I'll talk about it [ __ ] now so I watched it I watched the movie we can come back to this we can come all over

the place right yeah we've got there's at least some one person's opinion on bisexual Superman that we've got oh yeah we want to talk about oh no we'll come back to it it's all related right he he fits into like trate as well so I watched a movie this week um because I'm on a uh Mike Flanigan kick at the moment so I'm going back and catching up I've seen a few of the older movies but some I haven't seen so this week I watched Oculus um which Gillan one yeah yeah and actually I hadn't seen much of Karen Gillan outside of Marvel movies or Doctor Who so it was nice to see her just in regular clothes and I've seen it I don't really remember it but I have seen it quite good for listeners who haven't seen it the premise in a couple of words is evil

mirror y um but a really really good and contained self-contained again one house creepy things happen in this house he's great at that you know what I mean right yeah yeah um ambiguous ending am I remembering that correctly uh she's outside with the cops at the end or something oh if she's not outside the brother's outside with the cops oh all right all right yeah anyway not ambiguous but like cyclical okay yeah um but actually it's the brother I want to complain about cuz I loved the movie and I thought it was I thought it was great but it brings to like something that I'm actually really getting sick of and that's characters that are just normal guys in films being portrayed by

bodybuilders I'm sick of it right and in Oculus this character is supposed to be a 21 year old you remember how skinny we were when we were 21 Matt okay like a 21y old guy who has been in a mental institution for 10 years he's not caring right yeah he is [ __ ] massive and ripped as all [ __ ] and I was like no no just Hollywood I know but when we grew up like to me the biggest Action Hero when I was a kid was Harrison Ford like he was my idol but his body didn't look all that different to my dad's sure you know there was Anie but he was different he was a HK a special case yeah and now everyone is just a bodybuilder I don't like it wait a

minute does this movie have Katie sack off in it at some point ites she's a major role in it I don't even remember I'm going have to watch this again Katie sackoff is the mom in flashbacks right and spoilers The Ghost and not flashbacks it's not a spoiler that's the premise of the movie um mind you there is a bit where um she goes mental she gets possessed and the dad [ __ ] changed her up in the bedroom and I was like this is coming across way sexier than I think it was intended to cuz Katy sck off yeah sack off yeah um I agree with you regarding that and I the you know the bodybuilder type thing and I also there's an example I don't think I talked about on this podcast I know I mentioned it at some point but you know watching Vikings I'm still

working my way through Vikings when I can um I don't like to let my daughter watch it even though she has no context for any of it uh but you know it's a bit violent and then you know just in case you seen the blood eagle yet yeah yeah yeah me season 4 okay I've seen seen some [ __ ] and um oh you've seen The Siege on Paris that's a great season yeah yeah yeah that's a great season [ __ ] charlam like effeminate grandson yeah cuz we talked about how that's the the French princess is Roman palansky St yeah yeah which I didn't realize at the time yeah see you're still where you're up to is still where I thought it was quite good yeah okay well you haven't gotten up to the part yet where I was like oh I think he disappointing cuz I was thinking oh

okay this is going all right but no the the thing I was going to say is that that there's a whole sequence Rolo constantly Rolo is the main character's brother R he constantly [ __ ] betrays everybody and and they always bring him back what but there yeah but there's a whole sequence where it seems like a lot of time like possibly years passes where Rolo is just just an alcoholic [ __ ] hobo cuz he's basically been exiled he's living in the streets and he's eating [ __ ] filth leftovers like but he's still jacked as [ __ ] and I was like where are you getting your protein yeah he's like he's like I'm homeless and he takes his [ __ ] Rags off and he's just barel musle and I was like all right yeah whatever yeah maybe I guess Vikings just

look like that yeah but I remember an interview with Bruce Campbell years ago saying that basically he is not muscular but Ash in the Evil Dead is muscular so three months before each film he does he has to start bodybuilding so that he looks like that character but even he was not he's not huge no he's just in great shape yeah and when we were kids he would have been like oh that's a strong looking whereas now yeah now you look at me like look at that Dad yeah that's just barely that's what people look like now yeah yeah exactly exactly [ __ ] hell is this what women have experienced for like a hundred years probably yeah like looking at other women on on TV and in movies going

that's not what we look like yeah no one looks like that yeah we're finally caught up [ __ ] body [ __ ] now now Chris Hemsworth is [ __ ] the bane of our existence see that's the thing I'm happy for Chris Hemsworth to be a muscular Hulk because he's a bodybuilder and he plays characters that are also bodybuilders like but just if he was to just play [ __ ] I don't know Joe from next door like it wouldn't work yeah I know what you mean well but but they do do that yeah they do they do as as we've yeah as in ulous they do put people like and and it's it is disingenuous too because if you look at I particularly enjoy

um Rob melan's articles in you know that he doesn't what's that I thought you say particular enjoy Rob M's body yeah no but I enjoy how is about it because when they um interview him he's basically like it's not it's not real like I have a person who [ __ ] tells me what to lift when to lift it how much to lift it when to stop lifting it what to eat during before and after I've eaten it like a normal human can't look like this yes and as he says if you want to look like this you can but you can't ever eat anything that you want to eat yeah you basically have to a normal human diet won't get you looking like this yeah and that's why I'm just not going to bother no same that's how I justify the ice cream dessert yeah I like that at the moment too because I'm actually

I'm at my absolute heaviest right now so am I and uh yeah I'm I'm at the point now where my my my wedding ring doesn't fit very well anymore like since I've had a baby like I've put on so much weight and um I don't know where I was going with this but other than the fact that I'm like no no but I'm Al I'm always almost resigned to the fact that I'm just like well I'm just this guy now you know what I mean do sh I do I'm like maybe I should just ordered 10 pints of [ __ ] commit to this yeah yeah what if I just enjoyed my life and didn't care that I was fat yeah I mean sure that's probably a happy medium but [ __ ] it yeah yeah imagine that though imagine you could just be like you know what [ __ ] it I'm just going to be drunk all the time eating chicken wings and when

the other week I was like maybe I'll try and read Dune uh before and that was that was optimistic not a book I've not read no Dune I've read the first few chapters and at this point I'm kind of like I might as well just stop yeah wor about it for now yeah well I think they I've heard they followed quite closely along um I did I did read a review that said the Dune movie is a little too DY for its own good which I don't know what that means yet um but then again you've got to make not like mainstream that's probably fine for me fine with us but then again if you want something that just follows exactly along Sci-fi channel did a miniseries of it back in the early 2000s that doesn't have very good special effects but just follows the book with James yes James mavo yeah

yeah h y someone else yeah let's go back to um Dean Kane Superman yeah Dean Kane see also a muscular you know un of a man but he's an athlete so I'm fine with that yeah that's right it's his job yeah that's the big that's the biggest piece of this right it's these people's job to look like that yes yeah yeah like if someone was paying me to look like that I'd probably do it yes cuz in the way that of your not that I don't want to look like that it's just that I'm like ah [ __ ] it I got better things to do if I didn't have better things to do if that was my job I'd do it in the same way that it's part of your job to learn all about writing code and Dean Kane probably can't do that and he's not

going to bother cuz that's not his job his job is to get really muscular and to complain about uh the fact that he thinks Superman is not bisexual well it's not that he thinks he's not bisexual I I I I wrote it that way to be a little bit controversial but basically he he thinks it's dumb that he is okay so it's not that he denies that he is he just thinks it's a bit silly well I mean it's a different character they've they've like as we discussed they've done that and I think that's a good move cuz then that kind of shoots down some of these arguments you know we talked about a probably adium the you know the James Bond being a woman thing right and then oh by the way Barbara broccoli weighed in on that this week

and said no plans to ever do a female James Bond so shut up yeah [Music] okay we talked about and then you know they did it with Thor except they didn't really do it with Thor yes but they did and then this they've kind of said I think this is the I mean I I I think this is fine you've got a new character who is a a a younger generation who is you know more open to these things and has come out matter what to the values of a younger generation exactly and uh so I don't think it really matters whether Dean Kane who played yeah who played this character's father arguably one of the worst Superman yeah but not even this character's father because he was in a completely different property I don't

think it really matters what he he thinks no but uh he thinks they're just pandering but isn't that that's an argument that I don't quite get either is like pandering or doing giving the people what they want yeah I know pandering such when is that yeah no if you're making a TV show you should just [ __ ] yeah do arbitrary things yes as they come to you well I mean in in other pandering news that we can get into more detail um DC of pandering to me by putting the the man that I considered to be the one and only Batman Michael Keaton back in a [ __ ] Batman costume and they can p it to me all they [ __ ] want cuz I'm eating that [ __ ] up with a spoon I so if you want to talk about that I I watched the teaser mhm and I

mean [ __ ] the mind boggles I got to say I don't know I I don't follow DC very much but like I guess they've never as far as I'm aware they've never done a Flash movie like this where the flash had the ability to do this like he's seems like he's jumping through inter dimensional travel yeah yeah I guess is that a that's a thing the car can do uh look I know he can travel through time it wouldn't surprise me if he can travel through dimensions and I've not read enough of The Flash comics to know I mean we saw a little bit of that I guess in in the Justice League movie but I found all that a bit confusing to be honest but are they implying now that each of the Batman we've seen are the only Batman in each of their respective parallel universes yeah I

wondered about that too so Bruce Wayne was just a different looking person yeah but still chose to become Batman yeah yeah interesting yeah I mean whatever I think but I mean if they going to go with that don't over think it I think that's going to be stuff don't think like it same I do think it's interesting that you've got this Flash movie coming out that does this and then also the new Spider-Man has the same sort of thing yes yeah well did did you watch into the spiderverse no not yet I should I don't know why put on your no it's very good I just keep forgetting yeah yeah there's a sequel coming out called across the spiderverse which I assume is word playay on the Beatles Across the Universe and now I'm

annoyed they didn't just make that the title of the first one and come up with something different for the second because you can't have into the sperse and across the sperse you've used that even if you came up with the pun later sorry it's too late so no got to get got to got to do it now it'll be too way too late later yeah plus now they really like making [ __ ] movies with very very similar titles now yes Suicide Squad and The suqu Suicide Squad Batman and the Batman well this and this is this is going to get us off track as well but we did talk about scream somewhat last week the new scream which is Scream 5 yeah called scream oh of course it is so that's confusing it's got didn't talk about this and we don't need to but reboot I

Know What You Did Last Summer it's a series and it's out yeah it's on Amazon right but the scream scream it's it's scream five it's got Nev Campbell Courtney Cox David arat everybody's in it it's a sequel yeah it's just called scream like no that's already a movie yeah you already made scream I mean I don't care it's just like why are you doing that it's not called like scream Armageddon or anything it's just called scream scream no yeah I don't understand that's what they're going to do now it's it's like iPad yeah they not do an iPad 12 the new one the the one that's out now yeah yeah yeah it's going to get confusing I mean I'm going to watch it obviously I'd like

to see those people I would definitely watch it I love screen movies in fact dig wan to go back and watch the the original scream it's a [ __ ] great movie wait when you say scream five what was Scream 4 Scream 4 was uh I don't know I thought Scream 3 wrapped it all up this was was different um people I don't I can't remember if any of them were in it any of the original I I think I might have not been paying attention you know what they were all in it apparently I'm a fool I'm thinking of the TV series there's a TV series as well the [ __ ] am I thinking of uh because Wes Craven came back did scream four and actually of course

because Matthew lard came out this week and said that apparently W Craven after the first one was [ __ ] miserable because they it went from him getting to do this movie that he came up with and loved to attempting to to meet expectations ah like over and over and over again and it was just completely changed what he was trying to do yeah Scream 4 2011 oh yeah has already had her facelift yeah real shame yeah you know scream was originally just called scary movie oh that's comedy yeah yeah great movie and they used it anyway I knew I was going to get us off track we're

talking about the Batman sorry not it's not the Batman trailer it is the Batman trailer cuz that's what we trailer yeah the Michael Keaton Batman trailer uh you hear his voice you see the back of his head I'm me yeah I'm all it's not even a trailer it's just a little teaser that that weird [ __ ] floating Ezra Miller intro on the video I saw where he said we don't have any footage but here's some footage bizarre truly bizarre not strangling women though so that was a step up no no no they probably asked him to stop that for the was wearing a choker though which I find hilarious a bit on the nose yeah um there also is a Batman trailer for The Batman yes yes that's right which gives a little bit more away um not of the plot necessarily but a few

other characters thrown in there yeah I mean look I it looks pretty cool it's still just Batman though and I I'm not as excited about if if you had shown me that trailer when I was a [ __ ] teenager I would have lost my mind but like at this cuz it does look very um it looks not like the Nolan ones it looks more like the video games I think yeah Fair like it looks very violent and over the top and stylized yeah I'm into it suit looks a bit techy and metallic like I'm I'm down I'll watch I'm excited I'm just not as excited as I as they probably want me to be I know what you mean because I'm I'm like that with I don't even watch the Spider-Mans anymore I don't watch them I've seen

I've seen Spider-Man the movie now you know what I mean I've seen it over and over and a man gets bitten by a spider becomes Spider-Man doesn't want to be Spider-Man loves a girl I've seen it you don't have to keep showing me it sure yeah and you can get younger and younger and more handsome and handsome guys to play him but I've still seen it did they uh I guess they probably never showed cuz Tom Holland is obviously jacked very jacked they never showed him being just a jacked [ __ ] teenager before he was Spider-Man right but that's what I liked about Toby Maguire skinny kid gets a spider power gets jacked part of the he wakes up and suddenly he is jacked and I'm pretty sure that's CGI because then when you

see him like in the very next movie he's back to just being regular looking bloke yeah oh no of course we never see Tom Holland not as Spider-Man he's already Spider-Man oh that's true that's true yeah there's this great moment just linking this back to the Superman TV series which is I think it's called it's not called Lois and Clark I think it's called Superman and Lois hold on Superman and Lois which is not a very good Superman and Lois two of them Oh you mean the new one yes the new one sorry the one that I was mentioning before where super one no no sorry not the dean k but when Super's a 40y old man with a wife and kids cuz they try to appeal to exactly our demographic evidently but

there's um there's a great moment in the first episode where you see flashbacks of him uh earlier on in his Superman career and he's wearing the suit from the like Golden Age Era with the black triangle with the s in it yeah right um great to say that like that's what he used to wear and there's this great bit where this little kid goes um great suit and he goes thanks my mom made it and flies off oh great now I got to watch this TVC still yeah it is charming I've I've only seen the first one but I do want to go back and watch it again and then and then go beyond we've been both watching some old movies this week though yes

I've watched I've watched an old movie I I can't I'm trying to remember we've been rewatching Buffy the show mhm and I'm really enjoying it and it's I don't know it's just a great show I I think and I'm not sure whether I have kind of nostalgia glasses on when I'm watching it I'm not sure you could watch it as a person who's never seen it before and enjoy it as much as I do but it's just it's really great yeah agree it holds up in a very strange and unexpected way right and then there [ __ ] great it's all I don't know whether this was intentional but there like a sequence in um in season 3 you know when they um the first time Anya appears and Cordelia wishes Buffy never came to Sunnydale and there's a whole

sequence where where Willow and Xander are vampires and and all that and then was like they did a followup I guess presumably they were like um people really liked vampire Willow let's bring her back yeah and so vampire Willow gets brought into the real Universe kind of thing for a bit and there's this bit at the end of the episode where this is when Willow is still dating Oz and um she says vampire me was a bit gay and then um Buffy goes oh yeah but I'm sure it's just a vampire thing you know it's got nothing to do with your personality and Angel turns around he goes well actually when you become a you know what never mind and then it just kind of cuts away and then I was like was that for shadowing cuz later comes

out and I was or was it was it actual for in or was it just like later on they like wait a minute we've got a little thread we could pull on there yeah yeah I don't know just interesting yeah could be either CL yeah but then again I mean there's um season 4 which is arguably the worst season in terms of plot but the best season in terms of character development um yeah but they ended up having to write themselves out of Corners when they would write plots that went nowhere and so it kind of makes you think they didn't have much of a plan yeah yeah cuz I sometimes s think I I forget right cuz now when you do a TV show I assume you write the whole season and then you go and you film it whereas back then they were doing it week for week basically that's right so cuz cuz

and anything that they must have enjoyed like Willow evil Willow so much they brought it back and and I was like well surely they must have planned it and then I was like well wait no they didn't used to do that no it's just that if a lot of people watched it then next week you wrote that again yeah so weird to think that it was just done on the Fly yeah not on the Fly quite like that but like they didn't improvise it but but like yeah but that that whole I mean all TV was just so episodic like just baddy of the week and Buffy was like that too for the most part until it wasn't you know yeah I think I don't know if we talked about this already but I remember being a kid and watching it and then when it got to season two and all just the basically when you know when

Angel loses his soul and goes bad I remember thinking oh yeah okay this got this this this goofy vampire TV show actually is a little bit serious yeah they Angel they do angel which [ __ ] steps it up again in terms of seriousness well this week good [ __ ] we went back to the beginning mhm the movie Buffy the movie which I've not seen in some time and I I'm like this came out in 1992 and I remember I mean I think I watched it pretty close to the when it came out but I would have been 12 then and I'm not sure I watched this when I was 12 I might have my parents wouldn't let me watch this when it first came out but I definitely would

have seen it within the next couple of years I mean it's I think it's pretty bloodless it's not you know gory or anything but it is vampires yeah uh it's I think it's interesting I have seen it enough times that I wasn't really surprised but you know the vampires can fly in it and it looks cheesy and silly and and um what's his name Peewee Herman's oh yes in it and he's you know chewing the scenery so it's got all that stuff in it I I enjoyed it uh but again I even less so than the uh than the TV series I don't think someone who wasn't familiar with Buffy would watch this and right I'd like to hear more about Buffy the

Vampire SL thing sure you know what I mean like I'm surprised you know it got made into a TV series so Jos wrote but didn't direct or produce the film I believe and then possibly didn't like how it turned out and wanted to redo it in his own way yeah it's got good dialogue in bits but it's not as well executed as the show I could see why that would be the cas how how closely does it tie into the series as a prequel or is the series itself a reboot so I tried to remember right CU I couldn't remember this they they mentioned in um in the TV series Buffy moves to so the the movie is set in Los Angeles and that's where Buffy in the TV show moves from has moved from yeah and they mentioned an incident where she

burns down the school yes but they don't burn down the school in the movie oh they don't burn down the gymnasium what what I think what the principal says is you burn down the gymnasium that doesn't happen in this so I wonder if it was like yeah I think it's kind of a SE a prequel but not really like soft reboot yeah it clearly doesn't fit exactly cuz I mean and I mean the character is different as well in certain ways and the vampires are different like I said they can fly in this yeah right do their faces turn into that iconic Buffy vampire monster face D they just die on the ground inul Ru she gets menstrual cramps when they're around she gets menstrual cramps yeah is a weirdo man well see and it doesn't really go

anywhere other than every now and then when there's a vampire around she goes and like it's nothing much comes of that it's just a odd little thing they put in yeah it's it's weird other differences oh they all look like her all the Slayers look like her in the flashbacks that's another thing I oh there are flashbacks in it of previous Slayers are there yeah the opening sequence is the Dark Ages and it's Christy Swanson and donaldland oh like The Watcher is always Donald Sutherland and The Slayer is always um Christ Swanson so it's like you got to become a watcher but part of your job is you've also got to impregnate someone hopefully they have a kid and then you'll train them to be a watcher as well fingers crossed they look exactly

like you yeah hopefully hopefully we couldn't afford Keith of Sutherland so you were playing your own son oh they could have afforded Keith of suland at that time I reckon yeah probably true but I think uh heavily influenced by The Lost Boys right versus the TV series because they fly and they they but then they don't Lost Boys has the the face change right am I making that up it's got no it's not the whole face but the eyes change and yeah there's a there's a definite change Lost Boys is another one that I think fits into that category you mentioned about if you've got Nostalgia for it you could still really appreciate it but I don't know what you'd get out of it if you watched it fresh now yes it's [ __ ] weird yeah there's a lot of

people in Buffy the Vampire Slayer the movie more than I even remembered there's [ __ ] um Luke Perry obviously plays Pike the uh the male protagonist love interest considerably nerdier than we've seen him in his 90210 days plays like a like a loser kid M um David arette plays his friend oh okay he gets turned into a vampire uh Ben Affleck oh is in this in a in in a very small role he plays a basketball player on the other team oh right Thomas Jane is in this very briefly looking completely different and he's also not credited as Thomas Jane credited as Tom Janes but it is definitely him and I looked it up and it is definitely him that's funny and I'm Googling right now because I must see this oh wow he does look different the

the mechanic yeah what's her name why can't I think of her name I did this last night too the girl who plays a boy in that movie oh uh Hillary Swank Hillary Swank is in this interesting she's one of Buffy's friends she's like a main character oh yeah cuz she used to play that kind of role before she switched and started playing the other kind of role right Ry how obviously is the main villain oh yeah actually had forgotten that yeah this got some uh some good people in it oh the what's the the guy from um you know the man in the High Castle as in the man in the High Castle oh yeah that guy yeah he's he's like the the principal in this right oh okay evidently um Donald southernland [ __ ] hated this movie and said at the time

surpris he said at the time and there's if you want to check there's plenty of interviews available where he was like this is a piece of [ __ ] and I'm literally only doing this for the money but like I just turn up say the lines and go home yeah he definitely does do that in this he he's awful yeah I mean he's fine but he's awful for what it is but yeah he's no uh he's no G head no ril yeah he's no Ripper yeah that's what we watched wish we got that Rian of the show and you haven't seen it definitely watch it if you've not watched it in a while I think watch it yeah I think I haven't seen it since I've seen the show so it might be interesting to go back eventually and have a watch it was fun but I'm more I'm

more keen to watch through the show first I know that I did re I I know I saw it when it came out and I did rewatch it at some point but it's been years obviously cuz I'm [ __ ] old now so it's good to watch again I watched some older movies this week too from the ' 80s and '90s and I'll just mention a couple of these really quickly um the first one is war games Matthew broadrick um early movie about computer hacking which I'm so glad they made this movie only because it is an absolute Time Capture of computer tech from 1981 you know yeah like the floppy discs and the modems and all of that like it's bds's [Applause]

takes certain liberties with the it's not too insulting with the movie computer tech that I mean I've not watched that in a very long time but my my impression of it was that it was sort of pretty realistic in that they don't try to be too ambitious with a computer can do this you know like they they're pretty realistic about what a computer can do like he he wants to he's a gamer right he wants to be a gamer and so becomes a hacker to basically get games to play and um but the games are like chess and he's happy with that yeah of course I was too when I was a kid exactly exactly battle chess was amazing I loved battle chess battle chess was fantastic man when you captured the queen and she screamed it was like I shouldn't be watching this yeah and it was just chess

yeah it was just chess mate I'm just playing chess I'm learning to play chess what's that screaming it's chess yeah it's chess m wink SE another film from around the same time I watched and I don't know why this popped into my head but as soon as it did I had to go back and watch it and I it holds up as much as it ever did one of my favorite films from when I was a kid it's called toy solders G to be all right well yeah we get to that have you seen Toy Soldiers Matt not again not Austin very long time listeners if you don't know this terrorists hold the kids at a prep school hostage and uh the kids decide to emancipate themselves from it Shan Austin who at that point I would have only known from The Goonies but now I know as [ __ ] Sam wise gangji was uh

plays a jock who's like been kicked out of three boarding schools already and um takes it upon on himself to fight the terrorists and it's just a great movie just a great Feelgood Adventure movie for kids River Phoenix is not in this no not River Phoenix but everyone else's in it yes yes he is he is and he's great he's great yeah he's a nice guy have you met him Keith kouan yeah yeah nice he's yeah he it this I told you the story Jen's get M at me where he he was the the fox in uh Fox and the Hound as well voice of the fox yeah so anyway we're Ro on ComiCon walking around and you know they kind of like there's like the Lesser known celebrity area so we're kind of just walking through and that

and people kind of say hi and whatnot yeah and uh so this guy he like hey how are you doing we're like hello and it's Keith kugan right and I'm like I don't really he didn't age particularly well either right I I don't know who this guy is yeah yeah but I feel rude cuz he said hello so we're chatting with him and uh and you know we realize oh he was in these movies and stuff oh cool and he's in the new he says I'm in the new um Jay and Silent Bob movie thought he was 51 when I when I saw him yeah right well you would have thought he was younger or older I would have thought he was about my age to be honest yeah I mean it could be because we are getting older and therefore older people are not looking as old cuz how old's because

will weaton was in this as well yeah okay will Wheaton's almost 50 yeah we seon Sean aston's 50 all right fine yeah they're all a than us yeah I think you're right it's probably just because they're close enough all right so Toy Soldiers you recommend oh highly recommend not the C and dced I don't know that one I think maybe that's got a different name but I but I always get those mixed up probably why I don't know it as the same movie if it's not called the same thing I don't you know what Small Soldiers is the C it's not that it's not that one no didn't think so although this looks perfectly perfectly good um it's not the final the final movie from that era that I watched and again I'm not

sure why I watched this other than it popped into my head but I decided to watch Ace Ventura Pet Detective this yeah okay so when this came out I thought this was the funniest movie I'd ever seen yep ever right and I didn't think a movie could get as fun I watched it at a a party with a bunch of my friends we got together and then someone was like you got to watch this movie and we were just we all just [ __ ] in tears I had a similar similar experience um and then went saw the sequel at the cinema when it came out because with we went for school for some reason what I don't remember why but I remember went to see a vur when Nature Calls with my class yeah [ __ ] idea was

that so there was okay so Jim Carrey funniest man in the world hands down in the in the mid90s then one of the unfunniest for about 15 years arguably right yeah watching this now hilarious like full circle laughed my [ __ ] tits off right yeah um not a kids movie right sure first scene saves a dog goes gives it to the woman she sucks him off right don't even remember that yeah I remember that one of the major plot points is that the the police officer transphobia okay so let me let me list yeah so it's sha young for starters right right yes what wait wait yeah no

it's not wait it is sha young 100% sha young Prime Cut sha young holy [ __ ] yeah early '90s power suit sha young right plays the kind of police uh Chief y um God it is he finds out she's transgender he vomits because they've kissed then he gives himself a rape shower and then the rest of the movie his chewing gum to um yeah to try to get the taste of her out of his mouth and uh and then in the end um he exposes her by

literally exposing her he pulls off her dress um and then there's no there's no dick right everyone's like you're wrong and he's like am I and turns her around and you see the dick tucked up behind her through her panties and like and then the the whole of the the whole of the police force start vomiting when they see it like it's it's this hilarious thing and then suddenly it's one of the most transphobic films that possibly has ever been made yeah yeah okay funny though very funny very funny and also Courtney Cox just to bring this back full circle oh yeah H

she's his client for the main case and she falls in love and she's looking great because this is before her plastic surgery ah yeah she really was one of the most beautiful women in the world yeah what I mean he's he just spends all this time chill in the scenery but he does it so much and to such an extreme that it is just funny whether you want it to be funny or not Udo Kier is in this too I watch this movie he is he's great too because U care plays the straight man and he plays it so straight against Jim Carrey yeah I'm not sure he knows how to do anything else no no yeah yeah in fact they might not have even told him the plot they might have just brought him

in does he know K ever done a com and just s they react against him I guess I got to rewatch Ace V Pet Detective I mean he hasn't done any comedies but if you do want him to just say the word virgins over and over just go back and watch Blood of Dracula blood for Dracula life you must first must first [ __ ] death in the gold bladder I'd forgotten that that's not that's F flesh for Frankenstein though right flesh for Frankenstein yes yeah yeah when Andy Warhol decided to make a bunch of horror movies and cast Udo Kier in all of them and listeners if you haven't seen that he says that after a scene where he cuts a woman open a dead body and has sex with the wounds spooky and if you want to hear more of
