no maybe they just didn't like the photo maybe that's the thing where bad at too kids delete photos on Instagram if they don't get enough likes within 5 minutes whereas mine it's there for life if I know we just wouldn't have any on there cuz I'd forget immediately to post another one well I actually saw a tweet from my Mark Hamill today he posted uh put up something of a photo of him Mark U not him Mark put up Mark Carrie and Harrison and goes like I like this one more cuz this crop shows make look like I'm taller but he said I've added this as its own tweet because someone the reply I put this to they deleted the original tweet so it's gone oh okay if I had Mark H reply to a tweet that's living forever now this might be a dumb old man ly question but if you delete a

tweet because it didn't get enough likes doesn't that guarantee you won't get any more likes on that tweet yeah but and that one I don't am I missing something here what what people think is if it doesn't get enough likes quickly enough then it probably won't cuz Moor engagement is in very quickly right I don't know about Twitter but Instagram don't even count your likes anymore they just say it was liked by this and other people now they still delete photos all the time yeah I know I know just from I mean family members who are younger who I know what they do is cuz I've been like oh really that seems like it's [ __ ] annoying but what they'll do is they'll wait for the correct time when they know the most people are likely to see a photo they

will only post photos at that time and if the photo doesn't get enough likes or like momentum within the first you know hour they'll delete it because they think well it's not going to which also makes no sense because you feed doesn't show in order that they're posted anyway that's what I mean and not only that but like how do I know how many friend don't be getting alerts well I don't get alerts on yours it's not about people seeing the likes out it's about that person getting that Rush of seeing so many likes themselves I don't get it we we suck us welcome to this week's episode of old men social media gasm yeah old men don't what's a tweet the my birds come into my house telling me how do I watch Twitch seriously how do I watch Twitch you go

point [ __ ] does Kuno care to be to be clear it's the same voice actor they've just asked him to tone it down and re-record because they were like full voice acting he's pretty annoying that if you do him the the old way yeah mhm it was fine for a few things but not everything yeah cuz mostly you were just reading text on screen and occasionally hear [ __ ] does a k care amazing amazing game well I'll see I'll let you know if it is can I uh this is not a bit uh this is just a little little beef that I've got a little pet peef got a what have I done voiceover actors reading audio books that are required to sing a line from a song and don't bother

to find out the tune of said song how is this coming up I've just noticed it once or twice that you know sometimes in a book it'll say she switched on Nirvana and then it'll be like you know and if you're reading in a book it'll just be a line of text here we are now entertainers right yeah okay you went there um but uh I went with when you're reading an audio book you got to sing that line so all the audio books I listen to I have the people doing Star Wars voices so I don't understand MH do they do the voices even when they're singing NaNa songs you got the one when Yoda sings the ones I've read it's like entertain us you will who does all the voices yeah right and it makes it interesting but then I was listening to the X-Wing novels and then

there was a new X-Wing novel that came out and they had a different person doing it I went no can't listen to it mhm it's not doesn't sound the same I think we before but listened to uh I think it was the Martian the first time I I read the Martian was on a audible uh back in the day and read by an actual Martian no read by a guy who did all the accents as well and some of them I was like is he allowed to do that oh yeah you're not allowed to do that one I was like is it different for audio books how come he's allowed to do that so yeah I just wondered is that because that seems no I've come across one or two of them if they want to speak H or anything sure hes hes yeah Ewok no I just I was like

oh that's a bit cheeky they no Trade Federation diplomats yes yep yeah I do like a good audio book although uh i' there's this trend recently which is fine if I know about it but there's a trend where they kind of just act out the story and I know um Ohama been been you know trying to get me to get this new edition of Dune on there and I was like no I'm reading that with my eyes uh so I don't I don't you know I don't know for some reason some books I'm like no my eyes are up here sometimes I don't yeah no there's some there's a couple of really great examples of that the

Sandman um dramatization is amazing also the neverware one that they've got on there cuz it has to be done like that cuz there is no a radio play sometimes it's unclear that's what they're doing if I see more than one narrator yeah that's the only way you could tell I think on some of them which is annoying cuz it's like it's to me that's not an audio book that's a radio play kind of yeah and this isn't isn't the 1920s yeah sometimes I'm in the mood for that but usually I'm not very rarely no I would agree with that might go back and listen to the Star Wars radio dramatization it's been a while there is a pretty good Dune uh audio book that isn't a radio drama per se it has a nror but each character is voiced by a

different cast member oh okay and that's that's okay that's probably fine yeah because actually there's a there's quite a lot of just flat dialogue in the Dune novel yeah right all of it cover to [Laughter] cover did watch I thought about reading the first couple but I thought about reading now you can just watch the film I can in like two weeks two weeks I'm going to the movies and I will see it yeah I went to the movies yesterday what did you see I saw a James Bond movie oh did you yes I did did it h really have to wait what was it two years to go to the movies could it could it have just skipped that uh absolutely could have look I enjoyed going to the movies I enjoyed getting my buttered popcorn and my large

Coke popcorn right yeah I enjoyed watching 30 minutes of commercials for local businesses um this is a very good movie time will tell if it's a good James Bond movie I'm going to have to watch it again before I can answer that question okay it's out on uh streaming services uh I think if you pay for it this week so might might I might check it out this week it's worth your money and your time yeah okay I mean I've been hanging to see it because just because of all the fuss so don't read anything about it just go and see it it's going to divide audiences and in fact it already has I've I've read some reviews that are praising it as the best Bond film ever made and one's saying it was utterly

disappointing so don't sort of update the phones and things didn't they yes like just to make everything look like a little bit newer cuz they couldn't have him holding because product placement yeah because they literally get paid to have product placement and I'm assuming their contracts have something to do with the fact that it's got to be the like why would we wouldn't want you promoting that phone anymore do we so well I re I no I reckon they probably went back and got more money oh you think no I am well you might be right but I think contractually it's like you know what the contract would have been well we've got the movie but we're not going to release it due to this this this we can release it with your thing or if you float us an extra 100,000

we'll put your new one in yeah maybe I yeah yeah I should work in Hollywood it's called extortion but sure I going to say yeah maybe I shouldn't work in Hollywood the phone he's holding has got a picture of your wife up on the screen I mean if you don't want us to show that yeah yeah so I'll be going to the movies the next 3 weeks oh wow I'm going to see the eternals tomorrow oh yeah I'm so Keen to hear your review on that tune in next week I will then be going Ghostbusters yeah we will will probably I was talking to our list out next week the 19th see did you see the new trailer containing the voice but not the face of Bill Murray just to be a real tease I've seen that uh oh what's what's the director's name Jason rman rman yeah evidently he's getting a bit of flack on

Twitter about sort of him directing the reboot being a tease about being a bigger tease than my [ __ ] year 12 formal date oh some people were sort of saying like cuz his dad was there that's the reason he got the job so like he's been a director for quite some time hasn't he it's not like it's his first job I mean he's made some pretty successful films yeah yeah that's why I just think it's a bit weird that people are sort of jumping on and going that's how Hollywood works yeah that's how every industry works yeah but yeah it's not like it's it's his first outing and he gets his huge thing and he's not done anything else he's been around for many many years Ian rman is an old man his son is an old man yeah I not only that they let somebody else do one right and look what

happen what we got that could have been good if they didn't try to make it a slapstick comedy yeah but they they got the director of other slapstick comedies to do it they didn't try [Laughter] [Laughter] letters look like they sound yeah I've been saying it that way in my head since I was a kid know and then because when I was watching it I was like am I the only one who says har Conan definitely not they say haran in the Lynch film I think do they even I know what is that right yeah yeah I bet they do do you know what's funny though is a lot of people who are new to Dune and they're like we take this for granted because I

mean the books were around are there many people that are new to it I think a lot of people are seeing this movie with no knowledge of the books I think they know that it's a very popular book but they don't know anything about it they they haven't read this thousand page toone yeah um with the weird cover art you know retro futurism cover art that their dad had on the show a kid that particular copy of Dune the one with the it's got the moon on with the kind of red ha yeah love it love it absolutely cover Art's not going to be around anymore it's all going to be it's yes Timothy sham yeah absolutely even the even the June subreddit which I've been on for years is now the film poster and it's so disappointing um but a lot of people are saying why the [ __ ] do we have all of

these great madeup sci-fi fantasy words for things and the lead character's name is Paul yeah well well because this is just a personal feeling I think it's you still got to try and make it relatable to the reader and having weird name for people can make it harder ago odd how long ago was this written yeah in the 60s so yeah yeah is that 60 years ago yeah most sized five books back then people did have normal names yeah but they weren't pop yeah yeah that's what I'm saying like if if you have you have weird things like weird planets weird aliens but people are just people although everybody else does have a funny name righto everyone else oh was Jessica Jessica's fairly normal

Duncan yeah okay yeah you're right like I'm not saying and I'm not saying like every name needs to be a normal name it's you still have no it does seem quite arbitrary about which ones he decides to make really common and which ones to yeah be completely made up I think some of them just started as a typo and he just went with although I guess yeah cuz the atres are the are fairly normal men but then their Associates get a little bit weirder isn't that who wrote The Hunger Games uh they just pick normal names but then spell them strangely it's like no it's not Peter it's Peter it's no name Katniss that's not a normal name is it no but she her last name is everine which is like did you mean to write Evergreen and then you just changed it at the last

minute that's how you write Dan you write a name and then you swap some letters around yeah that's right that's and now you're original and now you're a novelist you keep doing it until you have a novel yeah yeah right keep writing words that haven't been written yet getting them in the right order that's the trick that's the trick um but they are they are supposedly descendants of us right the house of Trades can be traced back to the to the Romans apparently right if you dive deep into the mythology that just say like a lot more reading I think you could do quite a lot of reading if you did want to in in the dune you certainly can has so and everything would still be Canon out there's no reset or

anything yeah it's coming one day I mean this this I mean this film doesn't change anything in particular really yet I don't mean now but I mean given it another 10 years now cuz you you've seen recar the comics yep that happens all the time but you've seen it now in Star Trek and Star Wars which was two sort of big Staples so if this takes off like it's meant to be with them filming a second one and but even George Lucas start shooting in July 2022 yeah I'm excited George Lucas even had a problem with what was Canon and what wasn't Canon back in the day you know if people asked him even from 77 to 78 he made changes yeah but I mean even when there was extended Universe like when the novels came out don't you like if anyone made the mistake of asking about stuff that happened in the

novels he was like no [ __ ] idea mate except he did have some input about some of the characters so he didn't know he gritted about all of them but he they wanted at one stage to make Anakin turn to the dark side so Anakin as in um Han and Le's third child oh right sure and he went no because that'll be confusing for the prequels so you can make Jason turn to the dark side again Jason VES Jason is Jason VES in Star Wars yeah turn to the dark side yeah Jason it's his origin story The Jason and J were the twins of P layer and Jason turned to the dark side and yeah yeah Jason Paul what are names what are these weird words you're saying to me I watched a great interview with George Lucas

recently where he kind of admitted what I think is the truth about how he wrote the first Star Wars because you know how he always says he wrote Three Star Wars screenplays then Shel two and only made the first one and we're like I really don't think you did that no he said that but slightly differently to is it Pier Morgan is that the American I don't know if he's 6 minutes or whatever he is but um he said he wrote three and then when they gave him the green light to do one he was like well just the first part wouldn't make sense so Star Wars A New Hope is the first half of the first movie and the second half of the last movie right so in other words in his original trilogy in quotes Obi-Wan didn't die till the end of the second movie the Death Star

didn't get blown up till the end of the third movie but he just crammed all of that into one single movie and then when he had to make Empire he was like oh [ __ ] I've used up all my ideas well remember at the end of a new hope that sort of didn't really end on a what are they going to do like we don't have to rescue anyone it's like Dar V is still there but he's just floting around in space really like but also Darth wasn't really the baddy in that Tarkin was the bad that yeah I also call sort of [ __ ] in what George is saying now because I do remember cuz I used to read a lot when I was younger and I remember reading seeing interviews where the original script was no humans it was all droids and then the the the what here now is oh it was originally going to be

um that uh the creator of that made about 300K uh before basically just shutting it down announcing it was a scam and leaving with the cash mhm yeah but if you're buying monkey jizz I thought I was buying real jizz Dan I didn't know I mean a lot of people are seeing anything that comes up and they're trying to get it to the ground flooor yeah yeah that's the we Jed about Dogecoin it's a [ __ ] pyramid scheme that's exactly Howry multi-level marketing or whatever the someone who used to buy Bitcoin and they would trade like if it dropped o if it went over 300 they wouldn't buy it anymore like $300 it's now $60,000 cuz it's I don't know we have to do this not real I know but we talk

have no idea what about a third of the actual original play was because this is the shortest of Shakespeare's plays and they're pretty certain this is not the whole thing well they're also pretty certain that people would just go and watch the play write it down and go perform it themselves yeah they don't know which script they got is his or a copy yeah or he would just write out individual actors lines on pieces of paper rather than writing out one whole thing yep and they just cobbled it together from that that's how it'll be in the future when they discover you know the script for the Marvel movies they get a redacted version from like Tom Holland and it's only the Spider-Man bits but lines missing cuz he's an idiot he tells everybody what's going to

I'm playing three at the moment so I'm going to finish three I've seen some photos or screenshots and I'm confused apparently they look like [ __ ] yeah um they are not they are not like fullon remasters so it's not like watching Halo and going to Halo remastered or anything like that it is I the install sizes is what I looked at so I was expecting if it was going to be like a full-on remaster you expect at least 20 gig 20 30 gig per game yeah uh GTA 3 is 5 gig right right Vice City is 10 and then I think San Andreas goes up to about 15 or 20 but yeah they're not that it does look it looks like you remember it looking is how I explain it this is like this is a full price game isn't it it's a full price for three full games yeah but still $100 for three

games where I'll tell you one thing though Grand Theft all 3 it is not forgiving it's not like playing today where it's oh I died and then I'll go back to the checkpoint that was like 30 seconds ago it's no you have to go and restart the entire Mission from the start yeah know I do remember that about GTA 3 yeah and you always got to save because if you get killed by the cops they take all of your weapons right I'm looking forward to playing Vice just like real life Vice City is the one I've got a real soft spot for San Andreas is arguably a better game much better but but I didn't like the character as much as Vice City I love Vice City yeah yeah that's that's what I'm looking forward to but I want to finishing play through three

first but yeah it's it's weird going back to it cuz I do remember playing it back in the day and I do remember there's one Mission I actually had to cheat so I could finish it oh oh in three because in three there was this one mission that the second you did something dropped something off or picked someone up you had all these people come to kill you and you could not get away like it's they just destroyed you so I remember having to drop in a tank or something so I couldn't be killed remember I play I will finish PC used to go play it with Dave MH although I don't I mean I guess just watch Dave play it is it what I mean by that yeah yeah I did a fair bit of

that but no it's it's it's not just B I think people were just upset when they were thinking like it's a fullon remaster yeah yeah cuz I've seen well I've seen screenshots and some of the stuff looks weird like it's got smoothing on the characters I actually I I couldn't tell which one I I saw some side by side and had to really squint to figure out which one they were saying was the updated one the thing that I love is they fixed up the controls oh okay cuz you you were able to get San Andreas on the um 360 they theyed that because they got the remaster out but I had that and playing that was just hard like it felt like you're a tank didn't feel natural to move but that's what I focus again you just said you wanted to be a

tank no but I didn't want to control like a tank when I'm trying to just ride a bike you need to be clear about this Luke but they have they have fixed up the controls which is what I like and there's achievements most important part yeah that's worth 100 bucks yep I've got a lot of games I spent 100 bucks on that I haven't played I need to start doing that so do I got a little crazy at the moment Skyrim anniversary edition's out I know I am not getting it I've restarted Skyrim oh wow yeah just restarted buy it for a third time no no I mean I got it yeah really yeah I mean it's not like a full price game I I think it was like $10 oh oh okay yep you got okay yeah you can buy the game or you can get the upgrade for I already have the Xbox version I've

got five copies of the [ __ ] game so so Dan be careful there's two versions you can buy in the store one you Reby the game or there's the I think it's about $20 and in Australia or 25 and it's the upgrade okay okay now there is some new content in this too yeah it's got survival mode it's got uh some new quests and stuff it's got fishing you can fish in the game now I do not have time to put on a game and then just sit there and leisurely fish fish you used to fishing is fun in games you used to be that as it may yeah I definitely used to yeah I mean I'm probably not I I've restarted I've gotten out of you know that start area and I'm on my way to was it Riverwood with uh White Run White Run yeah oh no river is said first H oh the one that you just yeah right okay wow

family so I'm I'm just at the start of the game and not I don't know I'll probably forget about it and that'll be it but uh Xbox series X updated so the frame rate looks does it look different yeah it does it it's very smooth compared smooth motion or smooth Graphics like Smooth frame rate's High same you know I said they released that Assassin's Creed Odyssey update and I was like oh my God it looks even better now so yeah cuz you could get some pretty good mods for Skyrim like a couple of years ago like enhanced weather a lot of mods as well yeah you you could put tits on anything in that game this point mud crabs well I mean I've mentioned it on this podcast before but my second

playthrough of Skyrim I played for longer than my first playthrough and didn't do a single Story Mission yeah I've never easy to do in that game I accidentally finished a story yes last time I played through the second time because I wasn't that I I forgot what the story was and then I was just up about I killed a dragon and went hey you won sort of thing oh cool I just the second time I went in there I just met a met a woman built a house raised some kids you know I just lived my life in Skyrim very easy to get distractors in that game that's the idea that's why we need the next one not just re-releasing the same one again yes well they said there will be a next one but don't hold your breath no we're a few years away

which is not a bad thing because you don't want something like a Skyrim or the new Grand Theft Auto or anything like that at the beginning of the generation oh yeah do you remember Grand Theft Auto 4 compared to Grand Theft auto5 on the 360 they are worlds apart and then Red Dead Redemption 2 yeah like that came out oh wait no that came out yeah at the end of the Xbox One cycle right and it like looks insane compared to Xbox One games yeah so yeah you just yeah you don't want to but you also you don't want to wait 10 years so yeah but it's been 10 years well speaking of next games in the series next Mass Effect game's going to have gu in it I guess because they put up a picture of what looks like a GU it's Crash but it looks

like a GU looks like they going to take off after three so it's going to be it will actually be Mass Effect 4 what they tried with Andromeda yeah cuz the end of the game so they're going to have to make one of the story lines Cannon which is going to upset people well yeah or they'll do what uh DSX did and it just like no matter what you picked something else happened as well and it's just like it actually doesn't matter what you picked your choice had no bearing on anything in the end you know it's funny those games I mean it's it's been many many years since I've known how to pronounce the phrase dayx but that game is still just Dux to me Dux yeah cuz when it came out that's

just how we assumed it was pronounced dox I want the next one of that thanks I keep wanting to play I keep going through to play one of them and cuz I haven't finished any of the last two games or play much of them because I tried to do the stupid playthrough without killing anyone oh yeah and I always start them like that I know we've talked about this before I start like that and then and then one person sees you now you everyone you know is dead that's right if you had it just turned away all of your friends would get to hope you're happy I have to do this now now everybody has to die that's how I played Dishonored mhm I try to do the right thing but that's why I love the Red Dead games if you murder people then you go on high

alert until you murder the only people that saw you and then yeah you go back to just being cool I'm sort of starting to feel bad for some of these cuz they're just doing their job yeah like I'm I'm a cop wandering the street you're out after curfew come here and then I get murdered for it like it's yeah it's hard it's tough being a cop I own a shop and this cost this price I get murdered and you take it like it's just trying to survive and do their job or any green skin in Fallout when Dave is playing some or you're just there minding your own business some guy walks in and tries to steal an apple then you've got to murder him you'll pay for that he accidentally stole an apple what's this apple as he picks it up I'll kill

you you can have it back it's an accident the Apple next to it I could take but that Apple things escalate pretty quickly in Skyrim mhm I do remember I accidentally stole something uh in Fallout 3 in Megaton and the entire town turned against me instantly it's like how do you people know yeah that's a god it's stole a pen get him yeah because you don't know CU you're inside a house just looking at things and then you accidentally pick something up that's red and then you go outside and everyone's just shooting at you and it's hard cuz sometimes it's not every single item that's in there it might just be one or two particular items but I do like those games way cuz if you do kill everyone they are dead

shows I liked yeah yeah battar Battle Star well I grew up watching Quantum Leap Quantum Leap he was in Dune he was in the original June yeah yeah so I'm sorry if it's a choice between those two um Stockwell found something awful.com no but I probably see more of what D did than what oh you haven't seen Doom house haven't here and it's sequels yeah no I haven't oh Doom house this figurine oh man yeah oh okay so so tough call I guess lowex did a lot of stuff that

wasn't abusing his family and he did we can remember him for that earlier in life I think I think later in life he he he sold something off of last year when all this uh you know domestic abuse stuff came out and uh and he's kind of not had much to do with it since I don't think and and I mean it's all very horrible unfortunate and uh I kind of wish I didn't know to be honest although I mean that's not a good attitude to have I suppose but it just kind of like sours the whole thing now uh that sucks what what sort of scares me he's still young 45 45 yeah yeah yeah I know 20 years ago that was old to us but now we're there that's that's that's young yeah well I mean when kill yourself it doesn't really matter what

this person's going to get money and walk away it'll be settled out of court we won't hear of this lawsuit again well also um and we talk about this on the podcast before companies Set uh set up companies to trade under just to make one particular film so that if they get sued the individual actors and and I mean actors and the people who are acting on behalf of the company not the literal actors in This film um can't be sued personally and so if this guy sues them into bankruptcy then what does that mean for everyone else who wants to Sue that they'll be it'll be settled out of court as most of these things are so he will get money yeah but what I mean is they're not going to have money for for long that's how it works that's why you

never make a deal where you say you want to Cutter the profits cuz there aren't any ever cuz they do it on purpose they're yeah but but but the selling out of court is different well I see saying essentially winky wink Alec Baldwin could just give him some money and say shut up right yeah and then yep we won't go ahead with this and that there will be money changing hands with when yeah when it's always settled out of court money is Chang hands yeah I know yeah he's like guys trust me are you you haven't been dabbling in in in you know producing just just don't worry about it telling you we won't hear again about this lawsuit go away just go down to Mexico you or old let's just say you

work out that not all movies is for me and that's okay I can skip movies and not have to be feel bad or that one with uh Matthew mccon and Jennifer Lopez taught me that back in the day what was that yeah made in Manhattan is that what it's called oh God Matthew mccon is a strange one because he started off like cutting his teeth doing some pretty cool movies like A Time to Kill and then just did a bunch of romantic comedies where he just took his shirt off in front of like successful actresses built his career but also killed it at the same time yeah and and now now he just yeah now he does awesome I'll go to see anything just cuz I know he's got good tasted movies I think who who's got it best is still just Ryan Reynolds he just gets the beam

Matthew mcon if you're interested but yeah I think embellished a little bit oh maybe not I think we have a physical copy of that on our bookshelf but I probably prefer him to read it to me he certainly gets into it he's you are a book it's a book that I wrote It's a book about myself I'm the main character but it's like yeah when I was a boy and my mom came in it's like oh boy okay like I Can Do I Can Do I can do half an hour listeners listeners can't see you now but you're doing body movements that I am positive he was also doing as he was reading it and then my daddy smiling the whole he there he's got just a little whisper as he's talking and it's yeah yeah except when he gets to the part where he was molested he just mentions that and

doesn't dwell on it too much oh okay he did tell there actually there's a good story in there about how he won young boy Texas or some competition I've just made that name it was like some competition young little little little little Texas man or something listeners listeners Matt's opinions on young boy Texas do not reflect those there was a competition that he that he won where it was like young boy Texas prettiest little boy in Texas Texas and his mom always told him that he won right and then there's a photo of him on the wall and then when he got older he went back to visit his mom and he was tall enough to get close to the photo and he saw that the trophy said run her up oh and he was like Mom you told me I won and she goes that other boy cheated you did win
