can someone please explain to me what is happening with Twitter I am so confused welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy we're getting rid of check marks we're going to make celebrities pay for it celebrities are saying they're not paying for it they've got check marks I don't know what's happening is going I'm comping I'm paying for stepen Kings I have a theory of a theory about what's going on so he wants to make money off these things and it wasn't really working so because nobody even the celebrities didn't want to pay for them so now I

think everyone over a million this is UN un verified but they just basically giving them for free to celebrities and various other people and I think it's to encourage the average Joe to want it ah you know what I mean that's my theory think I've seen some people go like people complain about and people go on I'm willing to pay $8 for free speech I'm like that doesn't make any sense you're paying for free speech that's not free $8 speech right there and I I still find it funny that people don't realize that just because you can say it on there doesn't mean people have to listen to you but yeah no it's just so weird it's yeah and yeah so now dead people have it look I have been off Twitter for a while and I had no intention of coming back on I

wait now I really really don't and I there there is there is nothing that could happen now that would entice me back onto Twitter I so I've gone back on just to have a look every now and then and it's very my feed is just very different now cuz it is it does prioritize people who' paid for it or people who were given it for free now celebrities I saw the other day mostly my feed was just celebrities going no I didn't pay for it like Neil gam in particular people going oh you got a Blue Tick you pay money and he's like I promise you I didn't I didn't pay for it and I don't want it if if the implication is that I paid for it that's the other thing they he's they've pissed off a lot of people because now it's almost like because if you hover over the politic it says they paid for it and

then like all these celebrities are like I [ __ ] didn't pay for it remove it if if you're going to like make up a lie so it's just a bit weird it's either update it to show what's actually happened or remove it don't use us to advertise your Blu exactly yes yes it's a bit it's it's all cheeky but yeah no I've yeah I'll go on there because I'll get a notification every now and again someone's said something I go and have a look but yeah the 4u page now is just very very different yeah it's not I don't recognize a lot of the people in there anymore and I'm like some of them are like okay no I did follow you it's just that you know you paid and the people that I used to see more often and interact with more often didn't so I don't see them anymore so look it's

going to be interesting to see what happens but yeah it's just so confusing but yeah it's a bit scary that they're saying like dead people have subscribed and verified their phone number yeah yeah that's probably a flaw in the system yeah yeah not appropriate no and the other funny thing that happened this week is um Jack dorsy the founder of one of the founders of Twitter started his new start his new startup was called Blue Sky uh it's Twitter uh and everyone's like it's [ __ ] hilarious that Jack dorsy sold Twitter to Elon Musk and then just went and made Twitter not run by Elon Musk and was like come over here guys come back to how it used to be look at that cuz I gave buy that one for speaking of Neil Gam I saw a great thing the other day somebody sent their

book to Neil G for a quote for the back of the book and he lost it and he wrote back I'm afraid I've lost this book um can you send me another copy and I'll um I'll write you another quote and the person was like no no no I'll use this and so on the back of his book it says I'm afraid I've lost this book Neil G yeah that's [ __ ] excellent speaking of uh I watched staged oh we don't have to talk about we I know you talked about it previously and I and enticed me to watch it I finally watched season one I know there's three seasons of it now uh very funny very good yeah if you want to remember how funny it was stop now oh really that's my that's my opinion only but uh okay it was funny because they were in lockdown and they

made a show with just the two of them um if you want to see that produced by the BBC with celebrity guests by all means watch season 2 I mean it's got some it's got Judy d it's got great people in it oh and Samuel Jackson yeah but like they were like throw not throwaway but like I don't know yeah it was kind of fresh feeling correct the first season yeah but I'm glad you enjoyed it yeah I did I mean they they're good like both those guys davidon and Michael Sheen are just Great Entertaining so yes and I like that their friends like real friends that that warms me inside and it feels like I know it's fake and it's a performance but it does feel like you're getting a window into the light like it's done very well like like 100% is not but but they're

bringing part surely so I yeah I assume they actually filmed it in their houses and stuff yeah that's their real wives in the background mhm yeah yeah yeah tenant has like five kids really yeah he's got a lot of kids he married the um the woman who played his daughter on Doctor Who just saying that's a little creepy it's actually not I think the the AG is the age Gap is not that extreme it's just casting happens it just feels weird to me the doctor who is Doctor Who's about time travel I want you to keep calling me Daddy is that is that okay in the first episode of Doctor Who Scot he has a granddaughter in the very first episode there's a there's a granddaughter and uh I don't know where she go but that's when it wasn't I mean it was science fiction I suppose but it wasn't

about space it was more about time cuz it was the way they sold it to the BBC was that each not each week cuz it's every couple of weeks cuz they continued but he'll go to a different time period and you'll learn about that time period by him being there right you don't learn a whole lot about actual history anymore certainly I don't think you did back then either also I think we' talked about this before the Tardis was a phone box cuz it fit in in a time he appeared in and then it just stayed a phone box and they had to make up a reason later it was supposed to appear different wherever he went so they they mention oh it was a sedan chair when we were in you know Imperial China yes and then and then I guess I don't know whether it was

intentional that they left ion broken or or yeah exact or later on they were like [ __ ] we have to explain why it hasn't changed I think it could have also just been confusing and then also would have cost money to keep changing it every week and to avoid that confusion coming in out of a chair the uh the thing that we forget though is that we think a blue phone box is synonymous with Doctor Who whereas the point was they were [ __ ] everywhere in London in the 60s it's just a police phone Bo yeah that's how the police called each other yeah back in the day um now it would be um the equivalent would be some some [ __ ] in their 20s vaping for example there's one of them on every corner it's the tiest yeah do who's coming out of him I don't have a problem

Next Level good like it I can't believe that after 14 years they were like let's just write our best season shall we yeah no I loved last season it's so funny you know what's not funny sorry I gave your dad Co [Music] Charlie so good so funny I watched Mythic Quest season 3 because last week oh yeah uh you guys were talking about it I realized I didn't watch it um and it isn't very good guys it's it's not very good at all no no it's not the I mean I age I've not laugh once I I laugh a bit and I still find entertaining but I know what you mean it's entertaining I mean I certainly but it's not funny I certainly didn't think it was as good yeah yeah I don't I think it got too ahead of itself and tried to do too much I think I'm hoping that with

with season 4 they just going to sort of go back to bit more Basics and not have so many different story lines yeah they shouldn't have had them leave and it just they all got out of hand I feel like cuz like even remember like a big part of season 3 which isn't a big part of it is the whole movie deal yes but that's sort of not really front and center it's very on the side with that yeah with Joo and all that stuff which I mean actually that stuff was funny that was the proba that was probably the funniest story line fine David it's fine with horns but that wasn't the main story line which I think I think would have made sense that to be front and center did you guys notice the cast have started directing David Hornsby does some Danny

putty does some Ashley Ashley Johnson no that's not her name Ashley what's her name Ashley thinking of Amy Joe Johnson from from the power no I'm think Ashley Johnson from um critical role and from from other stuff um oh I know her brother's a writer as well hey Ash what you playing [ __ ] is a surname I got no idea who you're talking about Birch Ashley Birch F Tina that's one of the two testers oh testers neither of them are funny which one do you like they the least funny character I said that she I said I know who she is oh sure as a I don't like the character I think I think those two are the most boring characters they have been written to death now there is nothing that either of them can do now that we need to see or know about and to be clear I think Ashley BR is

very talented I just don't think that's a good character cuz she's she's T right you and you watch her other stuff when like even from back with what what's up what your playing Ash yeah like yeah she's she's quite talent I just think she's been wasted in yeah she's not a great character um I did watch something else this week have either of you guys watched jury Judy I don't know what that is so it's my dream to be on jury Judy it's uh guilty senten you to death I guess it's guess a prank I don't think that's how jury duty works but it's a prank show um in that and I'd never heard of this and then suddenly everyone was telling me I had to watch it this is a documentary behind the scenes of a trial in America from the point of view of the

jurors except that everything is fake except for one dude so one guy thinks he's on a jury but he's actually in a reality show and he doesn't know it so the judge is fake the rest of the jurors are fake the case is fake James maen plays himself being forced to do jury duty right what and uh it's pretty funny like it's got that slight uh uncomfortable tinge that all pranky shows have where you just don't know how things are going to go um but there are M and there sometimes I think they lean into it a little too much and you're like why isn't this guy realizing that this is all being performed around this fake but uh he doesn't and it's pretty funny I've laughed out loud

certainly more than Mythic Quest season 3 let me let me put it that way H so only six or so episodes it's it's give it go give it a go yeah I really don't like these types of I think the only reason this works is because he is such a nice guy like he is just a very like if you just some if it was just some dude you'd be like why am I watching this but this guy goes out of like characters are doing ridiculous things and he's going out of his way to help them solve their problems and I think that's why this show works is because the cringe is almost back on the characters not on this guy yeah yeah it's he's not the butt of the joke yeah he's not the butt of any jokes but that's a tight RPP act you know

yeah I remember show like this many years ago as well where they had like a guy pretending on to be on a sort of a a game show think of the Paulie Shaw Movie jury duty that was very good as well it wasn't no that's right you're right you're right I I misspoke yeah was good at the time either not even good at the time there was one good joke at the start where they asked what's for lunch and they say Sushi and then all of the news broadcasts are just talking about what's for lunch and it cuts to this Japanese correspondent reporting back to Japan you can't understand what she says except that you know she's talking about sushi that's funny and then nothing else was funny after that I do not remember that show

remember poly shw was a thing I remember jury duty a murder trial weird looking weasle guy who is who God the guy played the the serial killer in it I can remember him is that uh and I remember Ron Howard's brother is it him in my mind it's him no no no no no no I know you mean that he gave him a cameo in Solo you mean yes from he was yeah no no no not him not him when you say we serial killer that's the guy I think of JY Duty movie have to look up movie cuz it's all about this new I'm not knocking Paulie Shaw by the way paie Shaw made some great films back in the day biodome great oh my God St two actually jury duty oh wow Ino man great film inom man is great oh man this has got some good

listen if you buy a com 64 don't use the [ __ ] power supply the 5 volg grades and it will destroy the [ __ ] thing yeah um well you should also and I I'm not suggesting you do it but you if if it's been sitting in that box that whole time you should consider recapping as well I looked up I looked up on lemon64 which is like the the forum for 64 stuff I I looked into it and they said the commod 64 was manufactured during a period when there the components were less likely to fail like than modern you know or like there's there's a period where everything was sh all the capacitors and stuff was [ __ ] and then the com 64 kind of Falls outside that so it's generally okay to try and turn it on but if it doesn't work just turn it off and except that you're going to have to do something but also

nobody thought people 40 years on would still want the Commodore 64 I know well even look at this this is something I find interesting um Game Boy games a lot of Game Boy games are at the stage where they'll stop working because there's batteries in them and they're at that stage where they sort of will need to be replaced and no one thought they'd be playing Game Boy games man Game Boy outs sold like original Xbox and everything like they just like very very few consoles have had the numbers that game boy had I think it's still number three overall like yeah it was insane like cuz at the time you didn't really have there was no competition there was no the Game Boy or there was the Atari Links which is a far better handheld I loved myari links just didn't have the games though

yeah yeah this particular one I don't care if it works I just want to play you I'm also tempted by you know I've got the amga mini here and of course c64 mini but there's also the c64 Maxi which essentially is a working c64 because it's a working keyboard you can run it in classic Mode you can do all your programming like you just do that you don't have to worry about and I also don't have to have a huge CRT monitor sitting here on my and a power supply and a tape deck and although that would be fun to have all that stuff you know what else I found fun but let me put I'll put this in the show notes I'll put it right down the bottom have you seen this the c64 X ultimate what that is uh

an officially licensed shell what it's a it's a [ __ ] PC it's a modern PC this released May 2023 amazing it's £1,000 though yes I guess cuz it's a PC right PC yeah it's a it's an i5 it's got a GTX 1650 g r exp 64 G like HDMI 4K HDR video like it's a [ __ ] PC wow listeners listen younger than 30 or or so um the comb 64 is so named because it has 64k of ram yes which was a lot it it was and but then the the programmers back then were [ __ ] Wizards yeah yeah unbelievable like yeah un nothing is

measured in K anymore like the sometimes if you if you if you download speeds very slow you might see it even people have made full goys for the com 64 right modern like they've made them more recently cuz at the time they just didn't have the tools available to do it but you can get a gooey for it now it's amazing yeah that's the thing people had coding games for the c64 now that surpass anything that could come out at the time just because the imagination was capped back then too you know you didn't know how far you could push the hardware and cuz you only had the commod 64 to create the games on whereas now they can use a modern computer they can kind of cheat things and like discover well the way I look at it is a good example of as long as you've got

something more time you got to play with it is GTA um 4 and 5 remember the Xbox 360 had GTA 4 come out and then at the beginning of that console life and the end you had GTA 5 you put games side by side and they are Worlds Apart but it's still the same consoles the same Hardware yeah yeah they squeeze the all the performance out of it basically yeah well they've had 40 years to do that with the com 64 and like yeah like you said some of the new stuff that's coming out is like it's I think it's so cool that people are still making games for them yeah [ __ ] so cool and you can literally like I've got one over there that's all like working and ready to go I could plug that in buy one of these

games and just and play it like that's amazing to me so good and buy like a new game not just retro yeah they come out they literally the games have been released this year for the commodor 64 and I feel like there was a long period in the middle there where that wasn't the case but now it's kind of to come back up again yeah yeah it wasn't like every week There's a new game being released the last 40 years yeah like the ' 80s obviously was the the the PE of all that look I'm lazy I'm probably just going to buy raspberry piie yeah yeah no do that or I mean even just the c64 minis you run ret on that yeah very very nice oh on a Raspberry piie yeah yeah yeah I like the idea of it but I just know that I'll get

I he only started really really leaning into how good he was further in the book um I don't know he starts off saying he's awesome and he can sell anything true true he does he does talk about that but he's talking about newspapers for a while yes he he says and I quote I invented the Internet before that other internet and by that other internet he means the the internet right he also says if I made a movie I could make a better movie than Steven Spielberg or George Lucas could and I love that his goto guys as well because very very confident he certainly is like I've only just started fairy tales have happy just got married yeah that's it that's it it's um it unfor it goes into less

details on the games as you probably want and just mostly talks about the business but I had no idea how Sierra fell apart um people were sent to jail yes cuz he he did the prologue and I listened to prolong and he's basically saying like yeah bankrupcy and I'm so I'm actually looking forward to finishing this one just plummeted and all of the stuff that were given stock options all went broke and yeah it's pretty sad well I can I have $22 worth of Amazon day rewards that I'm going to buy this book with so it'll be free so I'm buying this book that's good do you guys get those in Australia no over here right if I go if I order something on Amazon and I don't need it

reason why he's not working he's good at World building stuff yeah good at World building good at like this story but then he tried to move over to multiplayer only yeah and I don't think he understood I don't think he gets why that didn't work and he was competing against like OverWatch and things and and like giving up on things and then then also fortnite came along when he was trying to release his remember the Bandits game the BMX Battle Royale game that he tried to do at one stage but that didn't work and that's when he sort of disappeared and went off and now he's just invested like Broadway plays and stuff which I finally found out what he was doing okay that's what

he's doing okay yes all right but no it was it's an interesting listen but yeah I think even there are times where he talks about how like he's trying to say yes we need more women in games and then he talks about how his girlfriend's super hot and oh yeah this other girl that was in the meeting she does Playboy shoots it's so like yeah you're missing points that was always his thing though you know he was he was the Playboy mhm yeah got the Ferrari he came up with the name fortnite did he yes so he says did he invent the internet though no he didn't no that honor goes to Ken Williams apparently I've put in here that he listens to the show because we

talked about him last week because he'd started reading the book and we' mentioned law Breakers and then just this week he's in the in the in the gaming news because he wants to resurrect that game mhm turns out nexxon does own the rights to law Breakers how about any tags I want Mahony how about sliding into my DMs so we can talk about a resurrection not sure it's going to go anywhere but uh h i don't it it might work cuz I think OverWatch has sort of died off a little I think even that sort of skilled shooter genre sort of died off a bit hasn't it I don't know I've never really got into it thing I'm not super into those games like I I've played law Breakers I played it at um p and like I mean it wasn't I don't remember being

bad I think I had I had fun it's just there's just so many of those games now and at particularly at that time there were like there's OverWatch and pubg and fortnite all the same timez I never never played it but even listening to even explaining it it's sort of like it's a game that you need to play and play a lot of to yeah the idea and understanding how the maps work and it's that when goth nights or whatever it was it was just like it was just like a million of these [ __ ] games coming out at that time and yeah and you need to commit to them that's the whole thing it's not a just drop in drop out it's not a casual game this will be the game that I play yes CU if I don't if I stop playing I'm actually Destin is a very good example I I think

Destiny is fascinating and I really like it but I just I've tried to play it and I'm like I can't I can't I don't have the time I'm not going to get anywhere in this and you need to commit to it and you need to play with people who are also committed cuz you need to work together to get through the raids and I could have played an I liked Anthem I liked Anthem Anthem could have been great I just just didn't didn't get there so bummed about that I like yeah it's you had to play multiplayer there was no and there were times where I jump into a game and because it about being my first time playing this level but the people I was playing with they've done it a billion times so they're just flying off and doing no I want to go explore over here

and what's this and they're just no we're gonna complete this Mission as quickly as possible so we can grind out these piece of gear yeah well I've been playing I've been playing a brand new game from 1998 this week oh very cool I've been playing Resident Evil 2 um on switch I'm going to guess it's not the original version though but here's the thing right I thought the original looked [ __ ] great yeah right there's a thing going around the other day it was post a game that came out the year you were born this was on Twitter and I so I looked it up and I was like oh [ __ ] resent Evil 2 and I was like I feel so old now [ __ ] hell yeah what's El maybe yeah no sorry the sorry the year you were graduated from high school what did I say you you were born oh okay

yeah yeah sorry right yeah god wow you you're a lot younger than I thought yeah um but it always looked good that's the thing right and now this remake and it is a remake it's just it's the it's the exact same game polished right in modern graphics and and modern controls more importantly and uh it just it looks so good but in my mind this is how the original looked in 1998 looks the same because um and I'll stand by it I I there's something about that kind of early you know that PlayStation era game I still have you know some Nostalgia for um this is [ __ ] great this game is so good I [ __ ] love that why did why did we stop playing the Resident Evils they must get [ __ ] in the middle right because I've played the two newest ones

and they're great they do five five sure ruined it four four four was great but four I've got two three and four then yeah yeah but six apparently people like six is trash too oh do they six six starts becoming a multiplayer thing right okay so you can play co-op and yeah I don't care about that no but I I remember there was an article that came out at the time Resident Evil 2 remake came out and it was quite funny cuz the the the author went I played through the second time cuz you know how you play through this second character and went it's basically the same game they accidentally played through the same character twice instead of switching over they're a different gender yes cuz you know how like if you play it right like you don't

take everything out of Cu you got to share with the next play through and yeah they just mixed it up and went play through same game twice that's so funny you playing this on the switch mhm it's like a streaming thing yeah right interesting yeah yeah um yes yes Cloud okay um I'll go back to Skyrim when I finish this it'll be it'll be waiting for me at the other end Skyrim will always be there until we get Elder Scroll 6 mhm it'll still be waiting no Elder Scrolls Online does not count [ __ ] trying to force that down my throat I mean I quite like Elder Scrolls online but I just don't have time for that [ __ ] that's another one of those ones where
