guys I've got an idea for a movie okay that I'd like to pitch to you okay does anyone get their breast cut off full transparency though this came to me in a dream okay so yes welcome to multiple nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All Things nerdy well that's uh Nightmare on Elm Street I think came to West Craven in a dream so that's you know good start that's fitting isn't it yeah yeah did he have the dream that there was someone trying to kill him and would he would die in real life or in the dream did he have a dream that sorry in the dream did he imagine a movie where somebody killed people in

their dream I see uh I think no I think it was he was a dream where he had he imaged someone coming to attack him or something in his dream yeah I think I'm going to I'm going to mess the story up but he he actually there was a true component where he was he was when he was a kid he was looking out his window and a creepy guy in a hat was looking up at him from the street and that scared him as a kid and then as a as and he's weing a South Sydney jump off and then as an adult he had a nightmare about that and then the character came in and killed him and then he was like well that was scary and then then I'm going to make millions of dollars off of this yeah I've decided yeah but what was your dream of so in other words in other words Johnny

Deb plays him yeah basically yeah I think Johnny Depp plays all of us I dreamt that there was a sequel to Groundhog Day right Y and you could make it super cheap because you don't need Bill Murray and here's why right it's anything that costs money in movies days you do need all the other actors from Groundhog Day right all of them all of them it's set the day after one of the days where Bill Murray [ __ ] Robs a Bank [ __ ] a bunch of women causes crazy havoc and then commits suicide it said the next day that's

pretty good that's pretty good the first shot is of [ __ ] Bill Murray Bill Murray's dead body right yeah with everyone being like what the actual [ __ ] so we got to hope that the studio paid the rights to keep his Li and then it's just everyone else trying to [ __ ] come to terms that this weird guy came to town changed everyone's life blew his [ __ ] head off day in one day I was about to sort of bring up the fact that there's lots of other television shows out at the moment about that living that same day but not like like this no not like this that's interesting if we can't get the money to do this as a film I think we should pitch it as a Super Bowl ad to an insurance company that would work that's funny you

never know what might happen so we I mean like yeah say there's like parallel universes there's parallel universes he's been jumping through them but these worlds actually exist where he did all this [ __ ] correct so he thinks he's just going back a day but he's not he's setting the timeline every single time it's kind of a shame cuz I think Bill Murray would be in this m mhm not needed he could beg us he could beg us that would be your first he could do something else on the movie craft services or location scouting maybe actually no no need got to be filmed in the same town can he pay for it we get we get like this this [ __ ] movie blows up and then in interviews they're like so I you know couldn't get Bill Murray was you know as as expected he

was a bit you know grumpy about oh no no he [ __ ] begged us to be in it but we didn't want him he threatened to sue us said you can't make a grand hog day without me yeah he showed up on set he climbed the fence ran onto the we got security to escort him off yeah like Bill I love you mate but you can't be in this movie he was shot in the leg trying to as we try to get him he was doing the dishes shot him in the back I like this I like this movie idea mhm mhm yeah got to get the rights to ground H day and Bill Murray easy don't even need the rights we just get a body double to be faed down you could just you could just yeah never say what it is yeah I mean they only had to pay Cris and Glover for Back to the Future too because they recreated

his face on another act we don't show the face we're fine as far as I know well actually they only had to pay him because he sued them and won they didn't have to pay him until then they thought they they thought they got away with it they thought would never have to pay him yeah exactly yeah he was like I want more money and they were like you know what how about no money you don't we don't need you anymore yeah was like What if Back to the Future 2 is a buddy comedy between me and Michael J fox cuz I'm just as popular as he is and deserve the same money and they were like no are you chis Glover Michael Bean did the same thing though because they used a photo of him in Alien 3 and he was like I didn't get a check for that mate yeah that that one's that one's Fair well he

didn't it's not like he didn't he didn't even ask for money or anything he thought he was going to be an Alien 3 and then they said oh by the way we would have all liked him we all wanted him in Alien 3 it would have been a better movie if the script had had him in it sorry mate you're not in it at all and then he went to the movies and saw it and he was like well [ __ ] am in it sort of have some money for that thanks yeah mind you even if somebody did tip him off I think it was wise that he waited till the movie was out before he complained cuz they would have just cut that out they would have just mentioned his name yeah yeah you don't get a check for a character's name no you wait you wait until there's nothing you can do about it then complain and

it's odd because well now would they just go back and just re-edit it and then re-release it and go no not in it yeah I think you could still make a case that uh he deserved a check I'll do like um George Lucas and um just re-edit the whole [ __ ] movie just so that your wife your ex-wife doesn't get any money for it yeah that's right see that's funny to you Matt because you've never been divorced and you don't have any ex-wives and I think that's a perfectly fair and reasonable thing to do to piss off a woman that you really really hate I um as I learned from Lance Henrickson they it's not like they were sh on cash for alien cuz they they threw him some money just to come be in a scene yeah and make it confusing he ridiculous and he didn't want to do I

love Lance Henri yeah he didn't want to do they said they said do you want to fly to London and shoot this thing and he said no I'm good and said we pay you but then they threw more money at him yeah they said we'll pay you you just have to come on set and drink tea and he's like all right fine yeah but then they then pay him more money for ellien versus Predator oh yeah that's true yeah that reminds me of have you guys seen I know you have you've seen Stargate the movie of course yes not recently yeah from the mid90s [ __ ] holds up man yeah yeah yeah you do even the special effects hold up for mid90s sci-fi it is great the only thing that doesn't hold up at all is Kurt Russell's hair does multiple hair do cuz he he cuts his hair at one point and somehow makes it

worse I've got some more Kur Russell news this episode just T out there all right stay tuned um do you remember the androgynous actor who played raah oh vaguely yeah yeah s of you remember vaguely because they were only in five minutes of the film sure okay got paid a million for that role reason being yeah it's an actor called J Davidson right and he only got one other movie credit and it's Neil Jordan's The Crying Game from the year before Oh okay sure sure Neil Jordan came up to him and went I need a transvestite you're beautiful you ever acted and he said no and Neil Jordan said don't worry put a wig on you right film the movie that's how it works

yeah got the Oscar for best screenplay and Jay Davidson got the Oscar for best supporting actor oh hated it so much got tons and tons of offers to do other movies and said I'll only do another movie if I only have to show up on one day and you pay me a million do just so that no one would possibly offer many rols and [ __ ] the Stargate people were like Fu million here's the day you show up never did a movie after that's W just hated the experience of being in a movie could we get him again for one day's work at a million dollars still is that still on the table it was never on the table for you Luke it wasn't an open invitation we just need someone to come in for one day and get a million dollars we can't find anyone we need someone to come in for

our grand Hong to movie we need someone for one day that would be great we oh my God we get a million dollar budget for to make Grand day and we blow it all on getting Jay Davids one day to play the dead body of Bill Murray don't even see his face yeah I don't want anyone to know I was in this that's fine no worries no worries is's your check don't casule till Friday so we've got a plan mhm yeah a that's our retirement plan just get get rich off of that the specifics are you know a bit up in the air step one come up with movie plan step three retire off the profits all

that's needed is step two [ __ ] a million dollars just to I I often wonder if I would actually like being you know an actor in movies I like being an actor in our movies I find but I like the whole process of making our movies I don't like the whole process of making any other movies cuz of or or or TV or anything like actual movie generally speaking I I don't like unless I'm with my friends and we're just having fun like I look at something like getting paid a million dollars well see yeah that doesn't that doesn't mean I'm going to enjoy it I'm going to put up with it for a million dollars I'll enjoy just about anything that's being done to me if I know there's a million dollars coming to me straight after but then I look at

something like and that is an open invitation I look at something like always sunny or Mythic quest which we should talk about cuz there's a new episode of Mythic Quest I for put that in here oh there is yeah there's a new episode out just one just one for now yeah no [ __ ] it gonna wait okay I think I think maybe you should watch it it's quite good but anyway godam all right I look at something like that or or always sunny or um you know like uh the you know like taay TI Thor movies that kind of stuff those kind of movies would be fun but in a lot of other movies I'm like I think that would be a [ __ ] nightmare yeah well I can tell you firsthand I mean we made short films and quite a bit of that and had a lot of fun um took me 20 years before I finally got

to direct my own television series full length comedy series it was the worst experience of my life and I'll never do it again so it was [ __ ] horrible your dreams don't your your dreams will let you down then what what you think they're going to be just have fun with your mates on the weekends that's where it's at I mean I yeah I almost agree but only because I had I had a more limited experience working on stuff but I still I what I saw I was like this is not this is not as funny as it is when we do it I'll do it I think if you're the actor it might be more fun exct around laugh and but like what so you know when you watch blooper reals listeners you might not know this when you watch blooper

reals and the actors fumble their lines and they laugh and they like other and everyone else on set is going [ __ ] you do your [ __ ] job we want to go home want to go I laugh while holding the camera and have to do this again just learn your [ __ ] lines and say them it's 3:00 a.m. we want to go home say the [ __ ] lines mhm faster more intense so yeah new Mythic quest uh [ __ ] great show it's it's more of the same trailer looks good for season two yeah it's more the same it's it's goofy it's it's like uh you know nothing serious about it but it does talk about things that you know we're interested in video game company if you don't know what Mythic Quest is it's Rob melan from always Sunny's uh new show it's about a

game development company it's comedy uh it's just goofy stupid fun it's good it's a little bit irreverent I like it it's okay this one is they've come back to the office it's the first day back after the pandemic after Co so it's fictional yeah and uh uh yeah and they're having a big party to celebrate Mythic Quest is the only show that did a CO lockdown episode that really really worked I I think we talked about this I watched that and I was like why the [ __ ] didn't we think of that he's actually he might be a genius Rob M it was as good as any other episode of that show yeah and all all of the other you know episodes that TV shows did that they were just tribute episodes you know what I mean they were just like yeah yeah I mean even westwing did one you know but it was just it just

wasn't it was just an extra little thing this was just an episode of Mythic Quest but they were all on Co lockdown it was amazing it was I think this happened just as like it really happened as I about to go to record wasn't it and they were no I still want to do something I think they shot it all on iPhones too that's the that's there's so many things about it that are just like just just fascinating and and like again like I said like he's just so smart like like um it's funny it's sad and and like touching it's got all the all the points all the points that every other Mythic Quest had like you said and then and then like you just don't even you forget that it's just them sitting on Zoom or or faking to be sitting on Zoom because they shouldn't on iPhone but you

do remember we have had these ideas we just don't follow through well that's the thing I saw on Caitlyn olsson's uh Instagram around that time she took a photo of Rob filming that episode oh sure and he's basically made himself a little for around him with like mattresses and blankets and pillows and things just to contain the audio cuz he's just filming on the so it just looks like the attached mic but he's got like yeah yeah yeah funny I love that just the opening of that episode where he's in the hot tub he's trying he's doing the zoom meeting in the hot tub and David's like why are you in the hot tub I can't eat David I'm in the hot tub let me turn the jet so good mhm and then when when he went around to Poppy's house yeah that's what

I'm saying and they they like filmed it with her boyfriend a body double in the background So Good Genius just amazing it's a really great show listen check it out it's just it's the only problem with it is it's on Apple TV which not everybody has like a lot of people do but then I some Sometimes some people I'm like oh you should watch Mythic Quest oh what's said on Apple TV oh like everyone has the Pirate Bay that's why I'm going to be waiting for it all to be there and then I will watch it I think this was like a special episode so okay okay all right so I don't I don't know how they're doing season starts on first week of May yeah so I think what's happened is they've put this one up this is a special episode and then season two is like full comes out the first week of

May oh okay so well it looks like I'm going to be watching this I mean it's good and the [ __ ] production values through the roof now you know they always had the little CGI bits this is they've gone they've gone overboard with stuff great I like it when a good show gets more money for the second season and I think it's well spent in this case what CG bits well well you know they always have G sequences yeah yeah some of them were some of them were pinched from other games some of them were like made like you know the blood ocean thing lot everywhere but in this I don't want to it's not spoiler I guess like there are fantasy elements where the the characters the actors go into like fantasy things so it's kind of like you know expanding on all that and and like

the CGI and stuff is great and practical effects and it's great I don't want to give anything away but it's good [ __ ] H and I just watched every episode of Entourage back to back and then why you don't like Entourage I've never seen it I've never seen have you watched no never not an episod it's about it's about Hollywood actors and actual Hollywood actors play themselves okay James Cameron is in it as himself cu the lead guy Vinnie gets in a James Cameron movie scusi plays himself Gary this is so good it's so good isn't it about Mark walberg's life or something no not really basically Mark wallberg gave the guy the idea because the guy dug out marberg andberg when he came to Hollywood brought three of his school

friends with him and that's a good idea for his show no SC where they beat this guy to so bad that he goes blind Jesus is that what happened to Mark wallberg oh yeah he actually uh beat some guy up so bad that he's now blind one eye no that does not Mark wber is blind in one eye cuz he punched a guy so hard that his eye broke okay well that's not funny but that's not the show and uh wallberg got chucked a producer credit but has nothing to do with the show but it's really good and it ramps too like the first couple of epod they're 20 minutes long right they just TV half hours so from pretty quick yeah I didn't know that either and uh it's very very funny okay um if you don't like the first episode watch the first three to get to know the characters a little bit I think

maybe that's what I need to do breaking bad cuz I didn't like Breaking Bad I to like it's never going to happen I just don't have time but I got to like honestly Matt I don't know if you would like Breaking Bad everyone keeps everyone goes no no no you would you would I'm like really okay I didn't but all right I I tell you what Matt and you wouldn't like it for the same reason as I don't want to watch it again is because the actual good stuff is about a third of the show and then there's a lot of just really slow drama in there as well okay that is you know quality drama good scripted and everything but just just like like get to the good stuffff you know get to the crazy weird old man making explosions and stuff like do that yeah all right I liked it but I I I

don't know that you would fully appreciate it well well yeah I probably I'm never going to watch it I'm never going to watch it let's be honest I've never seen it you haven't seen it either no no I'd recommend it to Luke before I recommended it to Matt really yeah but only because I don't know what Luke like 10 seasons man like so I just recommend that's the other problem with it there's so much of it that it's like I feel like if I'm going to start watching it I'm I'm sort of committing to watching all of it and then I'm like what if I don't like it well too bad you going have to watch it all otherwise everyone's going to Jud I also find Matt the first two episodes are some of the best episodes of the whole really thing well

then yeah so if you've watched those seen so if you don't like the first one watch the first and the first two are the best that's what I'm hearing here sounds like I've already seen no of of Breaking Bad of Entourage you got to watch at least three cuz the characters are Pricks in entourage they're all Pricks so if you just watch M you might go oh these guys are just Pricks I'm not going to watch this but they're they ende to very quickly we started watching a show that I'd not seen before which apparently is was quite big got a bunch of Seasons uh I just had never heard of the show it's called psych do you know this show ah yes sign up up until about season 6 or seven I don't know this this is a show from uh '90s or 2000s I think might it's

it's it's it's an older show and uh it's about a guy who who uh because we finished Elementary and then this one was recommended to us it's about a guy who's uh basically he's like a detective his dad trains him to be like super observant he notices everything he's almost a little you know a little autistic about he notices details and he can figure things out out but um he gets he so he's solving crimes for the police like in his spare time he calls in tips and stuff and then they get suspicious about how he knows so much so he tells him he's psychic and then so and then he becomes the police psychic and uh and he opens a psychic detective agency but he's not psychic he's just observant it's actually it's pretty funny it's

pretty funny yeah it's Goofy and silly it's just it's good very light yes watch it it is great yeah funny show it's very easy to sit down and just watch a couple episodes yeah yeah have a laugh it's not nothing serious it's I did laugh though not uh so the first episode has uh there's two police detectives right there's the the almost the antagonist who's like a police detective who doesn't like yes and then in the first episode in the pilot the the female detective is is the girl from house who is Amber Amber from House house is that person's name there was an Amber in house I haven't seen the first episode of PCH haven't you it is Amber I I came in around season three it is why is it not Amber vacus from House character from house

anyway the actress who plays her is is the female detective and she's not in any episodes after that and I found out it's because in the in the pilot of Psych they point out that the that the two detectives are having an affair and test test audiences felt that it made the the guy detective too unlikable right but Luke she got fired yeah but you've seen the show Luke they think that's what makes him unlikable he's a [ __ ] with like that's his job in the show is to be a [ __ ] with yeah but there's like being unlikable because there's someone who's following the rules to somebody's having an affair yeah I suppose like it just the but just cuz I that and then I watched an episode where he's just like just being a prick and I

was like sorry they felt that he was too unlikable because he not that not having an affair he's married but they're separated too that's that they said that they messed up because they they didn't make it clear that he was separated that was this this whole thing about it but anyway it just made me laugh that they had to fire this actress who went on to become super famous because instead of just getting a pickup shot where he takes off his wedding ring and puts it in a drawer and says well they have a conversation about it in the show it's just that the test audience just didn't pick up on it and so they're like ah [ __ ] like at one point he says oh yeah my wife's living in you know Florida or something and then well you've got what eight seasons

and two movies to watch now so two movies of yes made for TV movies or do they like how have I never heard of this until now they made for TV movies one's called blasty come home what anyway it's it's good I'll watch him Matt your husband and wife story reminds me of a ad campaign that I did for a um chain of luxury apartments in Japan and my concept for it was cuz they have all these different luxury apartments ranging from ones kind of geared singles on up to really really Posh ones right and so I had this idea that it was this woman who lived her whole life in these apartments just going through the stages of her life right and moving into the next stage so she's single in one and then while she's mingling she sees this man and the next

one they're moving in together and the next one they're in a different place they got a baby then he's off for the business conference in one and they're doing a you know teleconference and then they're at their last one and their kids all grown up we made this ad right we shot it in Japan then um someone at the corporation said oh actually we want this one particular apartment shown last uh so put that scene at the end and I like well it kind has to be because yeah yeah yeah no no no they insisted right and it just so happened to be and they're like no no no it's the one where the guy goes on the business trip so it doesn't matter so now it's a story of a woman who meets a man falls in love they move in have a baby and

then he moves out and because it's like a business trip we shot him pack in the suitcase and everything so it's really shows him [ __ ] getting a divorce you know what I mean and then the last it is supposed to be just like enjoying a drink but like out of context the last shot is just of him standing alone on the balcony slowly sipping a scotch enjoying life family that's funny and Japanese men were like yes yeah they're like I relate to this I'm going buy myself a [Laughter] condo that's funny uh as a TV show I did watch uh I accidentally watched basically all of it I didn't realize there are only six episodes of the

Falcon and the Winter Soldier oh and I've watched five of them uh the the finale is out this week um I've only watched four okay and how is it it's it you know what the first episode I was like oh I don't know about this but it's actually very good okay different very different tone to wonder wonder Vision which is good enjoying it I think at the beginning I was like I don't know man this is like m did my biggest complain I think we're going to go from this to we went from one division which is so silly this to which has been serious for the most part and then we're going to go to Loki which I think is going to go back to a bit more hey we're Marvel watch us have fun again Loki looks good that second trailer for Loki is excellent I'm psyched yeah I really do need to go back

and watch uh Winter Soldier and now that I'm finished Entourage maybe I'll have some time my only complaint with it is more there's only six episodes of this right and like I feel like it could have been more because they they dump a lot of info on you in this I don't know if you felt the same thing Luke when you watch it like yes they like they they tell you a bunch of [ __ ] it's like you could have filmed that and and made more show you know what I mean like there's just a lot of it's It's called a budget yeah I suppose it's but it's Disney it just surprised me that like only six episodes cuz they're like cramming the [ __ ] story in there like I don't know it's it's very you really P ATT if you want to figure out what's like if you just want to sit back and watch it it's

fine but if you really want to understand what's going cuz it's you know International espion this kind of stuff you can't have to be like what and then they like it's you know they you'll see someone talking about something you go what the [ __ ] is that I don't remember them talking about that and then they do explain it later but it's just because because there was so much info dump you're like oh wait have I missed something there's just a few times where that happened I felt it's very um I think but I also think they know exactly what they're doing yeah well like I said it it always became clear it just there were times where I was like wait I miss something and uh and it's just yeah it's very uh Exposition heavy in Parts where like for

example the opening sequence I I actually don't really know why that all happened I I missed that cuz you know what I'm talking about there's an opening action sequence which is kind of separate a bit from the story you know what I'm talking about Luke oh where Winter Soldier kills that's no no no no no no no guy no no no the opening sequence with Falcon with the helicopters and stuff oh that does not need to be there that was just a waste of money but why was that happening can you remember do do you know what the plot was why was why was that happening that was that was just to lead into meeting the other guy who's up on the Fly I'm not talking about like as practically with the show what was the plot got no idea who was that guy that

he was trying to rescue and why was he trying to rescue him and why couldn't they they go into Libya it's not really a I just enjoyed it no no I know exactly I did too but you know what the kind of an example of what I'm saying is that the show opened and then there was a scene of him talking basically briefing him on the mission and they went oh this blah blah blah blah blah blah and then it was just action for 20 minutes and it got to the end and I was like wait what was the point of that like that was that was great why was he doing that I don't remember cuz it was just it was way I understood it was just basically just to introduce that other Soldier guy that he sort of friends with I I get that it's just that the the it's it's just how they present the plot I think is kind of

like sounds like an expensive way to introduce a character well I mean the action is fantastic it's you could it could just be a movie which is I think which is I think the point which is probably why there's only six episodes you know what I'm curious also has six episodes I just checked so I don't get it too excited yeah yeah the new Lord of the Rings series that's going to come out on Amazon um the first season cost 46 million what Christ almighty I'm really hoping that this is more like Lord of the Rings and less like The Hobbit yeah of course a really good Lord of the Rings TV series could be really really good but here's the thing they didn't need that much money to make Lord of the Rings and it's when they had the money

to make The Hobbit that The Hobbit happened that's all that's all I'm saying I don't know if it was too much money that spoiled the hob I don't quite know what it was at all I I feel like sometimes that's thing right yeah still think they went backwards I think they should have started off with The Hobbit as sort of a test movie like made one movie and then worked on to to the trilogy well I tried to rewatch The Hobbit in fact I I did um watched it all garbage that's absolute garbage and then I started to think to myself was Lord of the Rings garbage too and I was just really young when I saw it went back and watched it [ __ ] excellent it's it's good it's so different in it's it's not good lord of the the Rings no h no it's

good it's good I can't see luk can't see L cuz he's not well so he's got his camera off so I can't see if he's being sarcastic oh I I am H I am not I'm deadly serious used to have four hosts on this podcast there was one host that used to constantly talk about how bad Lord of the Rings was because he doesn't watch movies about kings and queens it was not Luke and it wasn't You Luke I never heard you chiming up and going yeah I agree with you I've never been big into dragons there's no dragons in Lord of the Rings okay yeah I was about to say The Hobbit is the one with dragon I did have to do a mental check now there's no dragons in Lord of the Rings just a b roll I've played the

first no I've seen the first Lord of the Rings and then I played the Lego Trilogy oh so you've got the plot down yeah yeah basically read the novels M I can't believe they spent so long on Aragon just collecting all those little Lego pieces ridiculous it was sort of weird watching the Lego sort of cut scenes and then listening to sound from the m movie while people are being murdered in Luke's house game here in the Lego game they actually take sound bites from the movie so when there's cut seeds and it's like Arrow fights and sword fights is actually just so you've got this Lego cartoony sort of violence which is not

violence and then but the sound of brutal death but does it just pause for 45 minutes while there's a council of elron cut scene they I think they may condensed a little bit they even talk I thought Lego characters didn't talk in those movies no they do now oh in the games in the Star Wars ones they didn't talk they just kind of minded out hm if you play the episode seven they talk oh okay there you go and I think they will in the next one that comes out next year unfortunately time it's unfortunate it's coming out next year not unfortunate that's it's coming out or that they talk oh okay why what what what are they up to now oh they're just releasing Lego Star Wars the entire thing so I'm really looking forward to

battle for Endor caravana courage it's is that your prediction or is is that they're not going to have that in there although we do I have they do have it on Disney plus now say you never know never i' very surprised if they did there's a sequence where you just sit there and watch a a half naked girl dance yeah yeah yeah oh I love that show the um the Kurt Russell news I wanted to mention is that one of the actors in uh Falcon and the Winter Soldier is Kurt Russell's son and I don't want to say who he plays because it's a little bit of a spoiler I guess but but uh now that I've said that I think you'll know when you see it I think I might already know just because of the internet yeah probably I was I was trying to ignore and I don't know why this is happening

just remembered what happened at the end of episode and I was like oh jeez all right it's good when does when does the final episode come out Matt this Friday okay I might have caught up by then let's see you should it's good and they're longer than one division 2 these are like although it still has [ __ ] I looked at long credit sequence yeah like 20 minutes of credits I'm not joking cuz I looked at the time runtime EV it it's like they're an hour long and I was like oh jeez all right they're not they're 40 to 45 minutes long and I think this is part of the problem [Music] I've got the first shot of the one that you're not allowed to get if you're

under 50 now so does that mean you can't get the second shot it's not quite clear yet what that means to me which one did you get Astra Zen AST Zen we don't even have that one here y That's the first one I've had and then they've gone yeah anyone under 50 don't have that and I'm oh [ __ ] but uh I already got that well yeah the Johnson and Johnson one is the one that they've pulled here cuz the one shot one yeah because of the the blood clotting but then there's some question as to whether like statistically those people would have had blood clots anyway and it's just cuz they're I I don't know I don't know how to make sense of it these days actually kind I'm just going to do what people tell me to do that kind of leads me into another story

we've gotten here just the fact that the the the media kind of goes Gang Busters on things and you just don't really know these days there was a this week the Chaser who uh for for our non Australian listeners chases like a like a SAT entire show where they B I didn't know they was still around they kind of [ __ ] with the media and and stuff leftwing political comedy yeah so this week they uh they thought it was quite funny that you know cancel culture is so in the news these days and it seemed like you know the media was just jumping on everything you know when they thought something was being canceled so they created a uh they created a fake person on Twitter and Facebook who if you did a bit of looking was obviously fake because and it became more obviously

fake over time because fans were commenting and going oh it's the Chaser on their profiles and and everywhere and then this fake the news cycle had already ran with it well the the fake person created a uh a change.org petition saying that fairy bread is offensive to gay people and uh requesting that they change the name of fairy bread and started sharing this around on social media and at first they thought it was going really well but then some right-wing talk show host in Australia messaged and said we want to interview you on the show and they were like oh this is great they're falling for it except he got him on the show and then he was like oh it's you it's Chaser boys isn't it are they there with you it's a joke isn't it and they were like

oh [ __ ] they busted us so they thought that's the end of it except it wasn't because then it was just on all the news sites anyway like even if you and then they they basically the message was like did these people not even Google anything like if you Google this article the all the the top results are like is a a prank and the new s still ran with it for like a whole week the reason why this probably picked up is cu you've heard that there's the position to change gay time yes yeah heard about that yeah turns out no one gives a [ __ ] sort of I bet there's I bet there's no gay people signing that petition I bet the gay people are like don't give a [ __ ] mate mhm the ice cream was called out long before we started calling ourselves out no it's actually started

by someone who is gay and they said of saying it's now changed its turn it doesn't mean like when it was gay time was around like it me like happy and it doesn't mean that anymore and it's like but yeah so it's still not bad no it's just fair enough for practical reasons I mean it might be confusing for for kids like gay time that's be weird I mean that's we all said that when we were kids like gay time yeah we were like but they're delicious on gay time please there the time before us where it just didn't mean that there was the time where it started to become you know homosexual and then we thought that was funny and then now it's the time where it's meant that for so long that kids are like why isn't ice cream called that yeah so well I mean I suppose they

changed it you know you can't get a red skin anymore yeah after a race it's not like they were like let's call an ice cream after queer people yeah yeah Redskins literally let's give it a racist name that'll be fun yeah and then and then some some point during our childhood they were like the picture on the packet isn't racist enough let's up the end wild choice that one to really double down on that racist caricature yeah he nose isn't big enough he's just not silly enough we've not we've not you know demeaned where Tomahawk exactly what out there unbelievable so yeah uh next time you read an article about

something being cancelled just do a bit of Googling and make sure that it's actually uh something read the rest of the article on your Facebook post or even just read the [ __ ] petition that they're talking about where it mentions the Chaser and everyone in the comments is like oh it's the Chaser and then you'll know that you know it's not real or go to a real news source yeah I don't think that that is anymore what's a real news source these days though yeah I know look speaking of things that weren't offensive but were and now are definitely not we've known for a couple of years now that Apu from The Simpsons is a horrible racist caricature of the other kind of Indian and um they've had him off the show for at least a year now but Han gazaria this week came out

and officially apologized and said that if he could he'd apologize face to face with every single Indian person um I guess he doesn't realize just how large the population is he said he would be he just doesn't have time he'd be dead before he finished yeah there there's a billion of them yeah but yeah he came came out and he said look honest to God didn't know it was bad it is bad but I didn't know it's one of those The Simpsons has been on so long that it's had time for things that it did in the beginning to become not acceptable and yeah like I guess that's that's probably other shows are going things at the time I was it it was trying to make speak of how do I say this about being terrible no I know what you're trying to say and I think a listen hopefully charitable

listeners will also understand what you're trying to say so but but it sucks that you've got to be so careful about it but go on yeah Dan wants you to fail yeah it was just like it was a commentary of the time that was something that was perceived from every single that a lot of people saw that 7-Eleven that meant you you would have Indian people working there unfortunately that's a stereotype that's it was making fun of The Stereotype except in a way that we've realized now is not helpful well it's the same it's the same thing about we we talking last week about the Always Sunny guys doing a commentary on blackface by doing blackface which five years ago was very clever and now it's just not on yeah it's like no no you you can't do it that

way that's you you're still offending people to make a point yeah yeah well Always Sunny is one of the I mean I'm surprised some of the stuff in the early Always Sunny Seasons but they I mean they were always very careful about it h so maybe that's why but I think again over time I think it's also because they come across like absolute [ __ ] widths sure so you could re they there's nothing redeeming about them ter are racist characters sexist characters these guys are just [ __ ] with so we're holding up a mirror to that aspect of society you think I think that probably saved them is at the very start they would wanted de to sort of be the voice of reason oh sure yeah but she was no I want to be as terrible as you guys I think if they had had her as the voice of reason it would

probably have a very different tone now that probably wouldn't they might have had bad takes on things or takes that became bad takes whereas they don't have that now they just have them being [ __ ] with yeah yeah there's no conscience yeah so it's just all bad yeah and then the second season they added Frank and doubled down oh God he's still in blackface in a few episodes is he yes in black face there's that episode in in the last season where they're the focus group and he's like look I just didn't know who the villain when I was young the bad guys always wore black or were black and it was very easy to tell yeah I think he's probably a good compass for them too I told you there

was that anecdote where they made an episode they wrote an episode where Frank uh I think he got arrested on like false rape charges went to prison and got raped in prison oh my God and went to the prison guards and the prison guards raped him and then they sent the script to Dane DeVito and he was like I don't I don't think I can do this guys and they were like April fools it's not real we weren't really going to film it oh my God but does this exist because I want to find it no no they said they said they're like let's write something that he'll say no to cuz he never said no and they're like we'll get him wow yeah so he said that's one time he called them up and and even then he was like I don't know guys I don't know about this one and they're like ah

we're [ __ ] with you that's not a real episode I've got some notes yeah when I was about 19 I auditioned for a musical and um I got the part and uh it was called coed prison [ __ ] from cell block d right Y and I didn't know that when I walked into the audition so went in had the audition talked to the director he's like yeah yeah yeah you're great here's the script taken on read it and I so what they just have you go in and sing something else or yeah yeah correct and and then I came back in and I was like I'm not going to be in this I'm not going to be in this and he was like no no no no it's edgy it's risky and I'm like no it's it's and like and this is me at [ __ ] 20 years old where like almost anything was fair game for

comedy and this I was like no way you've gone too far way there's a character it wasn't my character but there was a character who was cuz it's all set in a prison the coed prison right and there's so much rape it's basically all rape but there's like there's this one character who's a convicted child molester and he sings a song about how great it is to rape kids oh God but the way that the guy described it to me he was like this is probably how the people felt when they auditioned for The Rocky Horror Show and look what a hit that became I'm like Rocky Horror Show didn't have any kids getting raped yeah I remember I got pitched on uh on a certain film by someone someone you both know uh and they said a similar thing remember what Christian Bale might have thought when

he read the script for American Psycho that's how I got pitched on uh film that we did and obviously same story I went on to great success yeah and that's why I ended up playing Batman in that uh short film we made oh that's true your career has mirrored my weight my weight has fluctuated over the years much like Christian B MH MH yeah I was I'm also born in uh the UK you know any magic tricks uh H we haven't done a magician movie maybe no I can do I can do a couple you also played Spider-Man once too and that's true Christian Bale never played Spider-Man yeah a Spider-Man suit that I barely fit into it was not zipped up at the back

and died as he lived got out of it in prison he got out of it at the age of 82 quite old quite old yeah but this is a I mean this guy like his son couldn't live with the shame of what his dad did and killed himself [ __ ] me so like this guy is yeah Luke right Bernie maid off G this may shock you but no no no okay no I mean he was a bit of a techie bit of a you know no he was a terrible terrible person he may have watched Star Trek at some point in his life we'll never know because he's dead yeah we can't ask him now like one of the go one of the Google questions you Google Bernie maid off and it's like what exactly did Bernie maid off

do Bernie m off um he defrauded tens of thousand ofest for $65 billion yeah but you know how he did it right you know what a Ponzi scheme actually is it's it's quite ingenious except that vaguely it has no end right so you you ask people to invest and then when new people invest you give their money to the old people who invested and tell them it's dividends so more people keep investing you just keep passing that money on and it gets to a point where there's no one else to invest in it and that's when it all comes crashing down yes ways inevitably seem seems like you could foresee that he he may have not had a Escape Plan in order I I think there the only thing you can do is at a certain point you leave the country and

change your name because as Luke rightly points out what did you think was going to happen this is named after a guy called Ponzi who did this in the 20s yeah right and uh yeah I guess in the 20s it was probably easier to disappear than it is now yeah I think he was caught as well yeah he definitely all right and in fact I think he committed suicide as well from memory jeez God what's it with all these people just dying yeah not getting geek a week before we wrap this up I just want to talk about another movie or Trilogy of movies um or something that you didn't realize was a Trilogy until HBO Max and now literally marketing the Snider Trilogy which of course is Man of Steel Batman v Superman and Justice League okay they literally refer to it in

promos as SN Trilogy the Snider Trilogy yeah so his 4our thingy that's the TR part of the trilogy so they it would they uh they workshopped the Snider films that he made before we fired him and didn't go down so well yeah yeah that's right yeah the Snider experiment it's I this could be the longest Trilogy I'll give it that is it the longest or is The Hobbit the longest I don't think any of the hobbits were 4 hours but they were all at least 3 hours right maybe you're right are there some like yeah like extended Cuts yeah the hobit I'd be curious to see if if The Hobbit or this is longer when I rewatched The Hobbit last year or the year before I

felt long a shorter version God it's so awful The Hobbit I know what I don't talk about it again all I can think about is The Hobbit is is I thought the I thought the first one was bad enough then the second one was worse and then the third one came out and I was like yeah why am I watching this awful the bit where legalist runs on the Rocks as they're falling I was like this is this is so garbage How would how did pet Jackson come even no [ __ ] right to be in that show anyway so bad awful why was it three movies Matt it's the shortest book yeah money everything has to be a Trilogy even the Snider Trilogy Snider Trilogy okay hear me out it's a Trilogy of sequels to Groundhog Day the Groundhog Day sequel Trilogy

each one is a different day yeah okay all right it's a Ser [ __ ] it it's a series 10 episode series yeah groundhog can we get billburr to come back for it now then no need he's always dead no actually there's somewh he wouldn't be right yeah oh yeah cuz somebody just went to sleep we don't worry about those ones no he he died of an aneurism yeah yeah well for all we know he did resetting it yeah oh that's interesting write that down and the only and the only cure was love well actually what was the Cure in the end just that he became less of a prick he got laid he loved he got he got laid with somebody he loved instead of just he [ __ ] a lot of women right but it was he didn't only only [ __ ] Andy McDow specifically would break the

spell and you know that he did that when he wasn't in love with her as well mhm yeah yeah yeah right I mean there was at least one day where he just Ro hypn her for sure that that was the joke in the musical God but did the did the musical follow up on the days where he died no and that's where we and you know what if they did they'd ow us some money cuz that's our [ __ ] IP yeah ah we should have I don't think any show any discussion of this thing we've well I guess technically created and not us but we need no I share we need it on the public record yeah we've said it out loud it's trademarked that's how it works that's how patents work and we've got one this podcast is our patent
