and the same yeah just yeah so he's uh he's calling in on his phone so I'm just going to record the Skype call so things might sound a little different this week um we apologize but you're getting this for free so you can't complain that much yeah you know what do you want from us um we're literally phoning it in LC is as usual now I've got a little buzzing happening here so I'm going to try and resolve that it's probably a bat be whenever I hear a buzzing chances are a be bees are different here bees in America are different they're different look up I mean I don't know how you would find it but I was s we're sitting outside and a thing that kind of looks like a be but longer and not as fuzzy
flew past and I and carrying a gun and I was like what the [ __ ] is that and they're like it's B and I'm like that's not a bee I know what a bee looks like B is a fuzzy and they're like no no that's a bumblebee like what what wait wait what versus Bumblebee this is going to come up with some I thought bumblebee was just what bees were called in uhur Rhymes honey bee on the left bu on the right big fat be look look up uh I looked up be versus Bumblebee and you can see we might we might need an entomology jingle here so stand by for that mat but I've just got a I've got a sheet with all different kinds of bees on it and uh yeah lots of different bees apparently who knew yeah well isn't just
a bee CU like I said I saw this this creature that was new to me and I said what the [ __ ] is that is it going to kill me I mean and then they're like this isn't Australia people make that joke lot here when they find from Australia which is ironic because America is [ __ ] dangerous well nothing bad's happened so far so far so far is that a threat be let me fire a gun they let you yep mate it's mandatory do you know what I've been here for uh two months and I haven't fired a gun what where didd you go you went somewhere in in LA la la Gun Club I got the fire handguns and an AK-47 just found out that there's a gun range here
where you can go and shoot guns oh yeah I'm trying to get my boss to do it as a like a team building exercise somebody told me it might have been you actually Dan that places in in uh in Asia over there you can go and fire a [ __ ] rocket launcher if you want yeah and you can fire it at an animal if that takes you fancy well I'll be all right but uh yeah well that's interesting yeah a friend of mine was in Cambodia and there's these kind of jungle outposts that are like military outposts and then they make a little money on the side by letting you just [ __ ] go there pay them some cash and then you can shoot whatever you want at whatever you want [ __ ] hell yeah right well I don't think you can do that here but you can you can go fire
guns at at Targets and [ __ ] we should go next weekend I did see a pizza shop that advertised Firearms the other day that was interesting what that is the most American thing I've ever heard yeah it was in the sign free pistol of any large pizza I mean unless I'm misinterpreting what the sign was trying to say but it definitely said Firearms uh and it was a pizza shop so you know okay like yeah I know it may have been just a bit of uh a bit of you know Americana uh or it may have been an advertisement so so how's your trip been I'm a little pissed off at the moment why is that little pissed off um one thing happened that has sort of ruined this trip for me now oh oh I was in my competition for
gamer score oh oh I was eliminated this morning oh no eliminated a y so why what' you do wrong do so well disqualified I just no no no no I was just they've got a cut off point so they get rid of about 20 people from the competition each week and you just got to have not being the lowest 20 right I was in the lowest 20 by 40 gamer score how is that possible cuz you you you get more points on Xbox than I think anybody I've ever encountered in my entire life so who's getting more points than you I'm in America at the moment and I don't have access to my Xbox have you kept your streak up though yes that's still going yeah well see even there like that's still more points than
I would have gotten so I I I saw that you recently hit 20,000 congratulations did I yeah when all right woohoo all right didn't even know like this last week really the [ __ ] have I been playing oh I played a bit of Fallout 4 the other day did I get did you now yeah yeah I jumped back into it uh how's it going yeah pretty good pretty good uh I uh I'm enjoying it more now I don't know why I didn't enjoy it so much before I'm having fun now though uh good I'm glad to hear it and I think I've got to go back to for oh cuz you're in DC yeah are you still going yeah yeah I leave about an hour I to start packing oh damn cuzz I was going to say you could just you could just treat the rest of your trip there in DC like it was Fallout
3 like when we went to Vegas Dan and we looked at all the New Vegas stuff exactly right which was that was actually a lot of fun it was it was almost like a computer game had come to life and not just that we hadn't been to Vegas before yeah exactly it was both of those things yeah and more no it wasn't more it was just both of those things yeah so you're going to be here too soon Dan I am I'll be there Thursday afternoon this fun Thursday afternoon not Wednesday Thursday Thursday the 29th okay good continue what else have you been doing Luke um so I fired a gun I've been hanging around Washington um I'm I've signed two releases I'm going
to be on the People's Court [Music] the snacks things from the that's all you would have bought with the money anyway full of cheese now well I sort of ended up throwing a lot of it away because it's me to be refrigerated and I had the feeling it' been sitting out for a while yeah um so look she's aside what you're telling us essentially is that you spent one day in Los Angeles and already got two acting gigs yes you hear that thous of Australians that swarm to Hollywood every pilot season it's that easy yeah they're all in tears now cuz they they just they're all waiting tables and trying to make a make a go of it and you've just waltzed in well not
Walt kind of limped in and you've limped in taken all the work y very easy just got be me all right all right stop rub it in I mean you know there were there were classically trained actors vying yeah for that role on uh what was it People's Court yeah People's Court yeah yeah as as the role of uh sewing machine expert you saw what Cory Feldman had to resort to this week to get work oh my God are we going to talk about this yeah maybe was was that a joke oh you haven't seen it Luke he was on was it like Kimmel or something what was he on the today it was one of the jimmies oh was it all right wasn't it or was it the Today show I think it was the Today Show uh but he he does he is he a singer
already I look because when I look this up it says he's a singer but as far as I know maybe he's a singer now because of he was singing the other day because of this but I didn't know that he was a singer I know him as the kid from The Goonies and the lost boys and Stand By Me Like that's exactly yeah that's who Cory Feldman is and he was a child actor in the ' 80s and he was on the Today show I think it was today uh doing a song and it was this he had all these ladies dressed as Angels playing the instruments behind him and it was kind of a dub Steppy Rock Fusion kind of track and okay and it was I mean God
bless the guy it was terrible like man it was so terrible it was awesome it was awesome that this guy possesses only that amount of talent and somehow managed to to perform it on National Television he he was so like but like he he clearly doesn't he didn't realize oh he was just like [ __ ] it like that it that it was not going well and he was just into it and he like was he trying to was like a tribute to Michael Jackson performance doing Michael Jackson dances yeah except he can't really dance and he was dressed it was amazing yeah like just baffling so you know go go Cory Felman and he said now that he you know he um uh 10 he said 10 years ago was it 10 years or some years ago uh he was in a
bad place and he probably would have killed himself over the reaction to this cuz it like the reaction has not been positive um but he's just going to keep at it and uh and they'll be back they'll be back with some more music soon so see I thought that maybe this was some kind of shy La buff esque kind of you know the jokes on us kind of thing yeah yeah see that would be funny CU I mean if it was that then [ __ ] kudos to him because he sold that I was I was embarrassed to like watching it yeah it was like it reminds me of the office with like Ricky's like you know he does a dance uh David Brent does the dance in the office and like everyone's just like like awkwardly absolutely yeah it was like that scene but for 5 minutes on National Television yeah it's a great way to put
it too so I mean you should look it up Luke it's it's worth watching and listeners will to show my list to catch up on when I get back I'll just show you when you get here don't wait don't wait I'll show you when you get here one thing I've been missing I've been trying to find a bar in DC a bar interesting like I can find a place to get a drink but they're all really classy upscale places and that's not me did you go back to that place we went to you know the brewery Steakhouse you know the place I actually no I can't find I so what you're saying Matt is that somebody finally figured out that a steakhouse in a brewery is the best idea ever we went to this place to them it was so good I I mean I assume Luke enjoyed it as well yes they had they brew all the beers there I wish I
could remember the name of it uh and and yeah they did steak and uh I ate so much and drank so much beer that if you recall Luke I actually thought I might die and I couldn't go back to the hotel room cuz I I'm like I have to I have to keep moving or I I think I'm going to die like I was so full so full I have never never had that happen like yeah it was it was a strange experience and you got the light version of the meal well it's because uh cuz I discovered that I liked cornbread while we were here and so I ordered a plate of steak tips and uh and also some cornbread and then you know Luke kind of eats like a bird so I yep didn't want to
waste out of his mother's mouth exactly so I had to you know I had to accommodate that for a bit and then uh and then I ate the rest of the food and then yeah like I actually it was quite painful and uh but delicious I'll stop you there for a second Matt just to tell you that I've recently developed a taste for cornbread as well uh limited specifically to my experiences at Kenny Rogers Roasters which is my new favorite restaurant okay interesting yeah you've been to Kenny Rogers roaster I assume it's probably even more popular over there than it is here in Singapore Kenny Rogers Roasters I haven't seen it uh but we can try and find one for you here yeah we can definitely we definitely find you some cornbread while we're here I mean not for me mate find one for
yourself like all right cool you know you'll you'll thank me I will if you like chicken if you like a baked chicken dinner oh yeah I do yeah yeah me too koston oh man Boston I'm sure yeah they still have Boston Market that uh that fast food restaurant Boston Market probably do they have that in Boston Boston you remember that no it was in Sydney for about a year and went bankrupt well I don't know if it went bankrupt but it closed down Boston Market yeah counter serve chain dishing up American Comfort Fair such as rotisserie chicken in a simple setting is that what that describe it yeah that's it yeah yeah looking at in fact
very similar to Kenny Rogers roosters I'll stop you there there's one in Cranston Rhode Island which is about five minutes from my house so yeah there you go if you want to go to a Boston Market I know I'm probably tell Smash Potatoes when when I tell them oh Dan wants to go to Boston Market everyone's going to be like what as they are usually when I say can we go to Bubble Gump Shrimp and they're like why the [ __ ] would we do that like shut up I tell you what Luke and I are meeting up in Boston before we come to see you Matt so perhaps we will have Boston Market in Boston it's a good idea we're about oh we could talk we talk about where you're staying in Boston offline um no no no I think you should
say the address of the hotel on the podcast um I actually don't know where it is yet I have to look at that it's an Airbnb place in Cambridge oh all right cool so I got to ask him if I can check out late that day and then I'm thinking about driving to Rhode Island oh yeah sweet you're renting a car in other words you're going to pick me up from the airport we're going to stop at Boston Markets a little have a little meal and then we're driving to that sounds great yep that'll be great I I don't see a problem with that at all except for the fact that driving over here I don't I think it's going to be easier in Boston in LA in Washington it's a bit scary really way people drive you've been driving no not yet I've just been ubering everywhere yeah my God it
is cheap to get here yeah it is Che to get a I drove for 15 minutes and paid like less than I'll pay for flag fall in a taxi in austr they're everywhere too you if you pull open the app and say I'm after an Uber you'll get one like real quick it's pretty good yeah I've not waited more than four minutes um we went to uh Hartford ComicCon yesterday thank you very much to the organizers at Hartford ComiCon for having us along um it's like remember when Supernova first started in Sydney and it was like was great because it was like interesting stuff there uh and and quite a good deal smaller than it is now because kind of you know that stuff's become cool especially yeah comics with the films and all that kind of stuff this was kind of a a smaller thing uh in a good way like it's in a a little
Convention Center in in Hartford but yeah so we went on to Hartford ComiCon it was uh it was a good day it was a lot of fun actually uh we had a great time uh there's a couple couple of things I saw there that I'd like to mention like to tell you guys about sure and we'd like to hear we met a guy called Rob who uh he does art um on street signs of comic book characters so he'll take street signs well he doesn't take them that would be illegal he he obtains them okay and then he um converts them into artworks so like uh if you go to his website put it in the show notes rzp art.com uh you can you can buy the [Music]
and oh yeah and like with really kind of cool intricate details and uh the I'm looking at them right now very very cool a little creepy yeah yeah yeah some of them were nice cool some of them aren't some of them are like you know kind of like just really pretty and and and nice um there's one she did one of midna from um Twilight Princess which we're really impressed with that's actually what caught our eye cuz it's got um kind of this this detail up you know like the midna has these kind of like horn things and that but yeah they're really cool um so if you're into that stuff uh check that out her website uh is if you go to facebook.com/ kashim Mor Studios uh that appears to be the URL where you can check them out or just uh do a search for Oakwood Studios you find
those uh and we also met uh have you guys ever heard of uh Fraggle Rock or say The Dark Crystal or Sesame Street yeah yeah okay we met a guy uh who was a puppeteer and uh puppet fabricator uh and he worked on all that stuff his name's Bill diamond and we kind of we were not expecting to meet Bill Diamond um so it was kind of a bit a bit of a bit overwhelming actually because I couldn't think of a damn thing to ask him um but they had a booth there he he also created they had a big uh Audy too for from the stage show of Little Shop of Horrors um you know they do like a road
Tour stage show that they've been doing since the ' 80s and he he create created and operates the Audrey 2 well and and sorry and the the the hu the big one and the small versions um of those uh and he had like a bunch of bunch of puppets and stuff from from fragar Rock The Dark Crystal and um they recently did uh for um memory of John Hensen uh they did a a Dark Crystal uh short film called rise of the Skies yeah that show was really creepy it was for children oh man I love The Dark Crystal when I was a kid that's so oh yeah I don't think that's true I saw it at the movies uh because I'm old I loved it yes so did I I might have to look up this short
movie yeah it's on you it's on the on the Jim Hansen um YouTube channel like if you go the if you go to YouTube look at the Jim Henson company it's on there where Jim Henson just does his daily Vlogs and as what's in my bags some unboxing did you see that um red you know red letter media they did the the you know two-hour long Star Wars reviews um you're talking about the George Lucas unboxing a salad yeah did you see that yeah I did oh man and like it's such a I like those guys a lot cuz it's such a yeah stupid video and then at the end it's like it's basically like um a bit of Sizzle for the pinket review of the force awakens you know did you see the end no I I don't think I even got to the end if you watch all the way through it
it just comes up and it's got like that horrible cartoon picture of plink it and it says like coming soon so but the video is just yeah it's just stupid video of him Rich Evans pretending to be George Lucas unboxing salad yeah pretty funny great anyway started watching their half in the bag reviews do you watch those oh yeah I love them yeah they're great they're fantastic [ __ ] love those guys yeah yeah I I find that I generally agree with their opinion on Films so yeah I'm really enjoying yeah they're very consistent with with what I feel usually so MH because i' I've kind of I'm I'm so old now that I can't handle somebody with a differing opinion like I just don't want to read a review if if the person disagrees with me I just
don't have time to get that agitated you know what I mean so so now I just I agree with you but then I I'm also one of those people that's like [ __ ] everybody just wants to hear their own opinions echoed back at them so like on Facebook or whatever yes so yes I do so I try I try not to do that but uh you just stay away from reviews well I think if I'm waiting to decide if I want to watch a film their opinion of it is is a good gauge of whether I like it yeah I don't watch reviews before I've seen movies so I usually just watch them if they happen to have done one for movie I've Just Seen yeah y they're and they're very funny and they've been doing those that rewatch series to uh
where they they rewatch old movies yeah but Bill Diamond I was talking about Bill Diamond um were yeah we came up we saw the big Audrey 2 and I was like oh wow it's Audrey 2 and then this guy was like oh yeah talking about and then they and he goes oh do you want to do you want to meet Bill and I was like H yeah and he goes all right come on SO went over and then like [ __ ] nice guy asked about the show he took a business card he's listening hey Bill thanks thanks for listening thanks for chatting to us um yeah it's great and then like I said I I I was so like put on the spot I couldn't even think of anything clever to ask but uh but yeah no he you know showed us all the puppets told us um he Jen uh was eaten by Audrey 2 uh so she's

closed oh they are open yeah I figured cool and it's not like I'm in a normal hotel where I'm like levels up and no one can really see in MH um I can see the street like at eye level from where I am okay and anyone looking in the window can see you at eye level yeah but the thing is actually really think about this how often do you look through people's windows and actually see someone in there pretty often I can't help it I'll do my best well it's just something I've actually noticed like when I'm walking down the street I don't really pay attention look inside people's windows it's occas on different wavelengths okay well I got to say we did uh we did a Star Wars trivia
competition at the comic at Comic Con how did you go did you do well no because should I have been there to help I don't know I think we may have found your match we spoke to the the guy running it afterwards and he might he might come on and do a round two with us right wow cuz this guy knows everything and I'm like we couldn't like we we afterwards we went up and we said I was chatting to him and gave him a card and everything and I said oh yeah we did we a Trivia episode and he go he goes oh yeah do you have any hard questions and uh and we're like oh you know couple like uh you know like what's the name of the band in the Cantina and he is oh a a
Phil tippet and then oh you don't mean the actors you mean the B oh it's it's in the modal notes all right all right oh God and then I said so we're trying to stump him right and then some guy comes up and goes oh what is the significance of the number blah blah he go it's the the ID code of the trash compactor like all right and I said oh what's the creature that um that Finn shares the water with in force awakens he goes what do you mean shares the water I'm like oh he drinks out of the thing he is Oh you mean the hab like [ __ ] off so yeah so maybe we're going to try you sure he knows his stuff or is he just saying it with confidence cuz you don't know the answer a bunch of his questions were the same as the questions we had I mean that is loud yeah what the
hell is going on I don't know [Music] it stopped yeah so a bunch of his questions were were were the same or very similar to the ones on the show and so and then also when I gave him the card he said that he he thinks he may have heard of us and I was like did he just steal all our questions and he just knows the answers because he listened to the show probably not but maybe maybe it's time I do a bit more um research if you're going to research something Luke research something that's real that you actually learn about just watch Star Wars because you enjoy watching it well I do I haven't watched it yet this year so how do you watch it once a year I watch it at least once a year
yeah no that's fair like all six now you think you'll do all six or just the three um well at the moment it's i' well there's there's six that I would watch at the moment right the New Hope Empire Strokes back returning Jedi um the force awakens Caravan courage and is it the fight for Endor battle for Endor betterle for Endor they're the six I will watch I like how they get they get preference over like the prequels like I mean look I'm no fan of the prequels shitty made for TV yeah I do think the prequels were maybe better than them oh that reminds me something else that I saw at uh at the Harford that I haven't seen in a long
time is just a guy with a [ __ ] big Booth selling pirate DVDs what yeah I see that I see that a fair bit over there yeah yeah well in Australia they you wouldn't be allow to do that and they don't I've never at a convention seen anybody doing that not recently like you can't I've seen people in the car park selling them but right well this guy had the [ __ ] holiday special he had the despecialized versions of Star Wars on Blu-ray W he had just anything that he downloaded off the internet I guess he's burned it onto a a disc and he sell but I'm like who's buying them what was he charging for those I didn't ask I didn't ask but like who is buying them why would you buy that just download it yourself if you possibly the
holiday special if it was a good quality cuz I don't have a good quality copy of it I don't think good quality cop exist he probably got the same copy we've all seen yeah the VHS capture cuz it's the only one that exists it only air once and then was destroyed yeah but yeah and the other thing the other thing I saw that I have seen uh and I'm not going to name names but there is actually a shop in Sydney that I've seen this and I don't understand why they do this and why people would buy them but it's when they sell posters that they've clearly just printed out off the internet and not only that low like low [ __ ] quality jpegs blown up to [ __ ] a A3 or larger that look like complete ass and they're there on
display I'm like why what the [ __ ] is that doing on the wall like you've got you know what I mean like you've got good quality post and then you've got this on the wall like what are you doing like do people not not see it like you know what I mean right you've seen this uh yeah maybe not in Sydney I'm not going to name the name of the shop but but it is blue dog posters in New Town and uh right they do this as well they have a section that it's just a bunch of like say you know like uh you know all the tack of the 50 Foot Woman or whatever and it's but they've just saved it off IMDb and then blown it up to to A3 and then printed it and it looks like us cuz it's it's like a you
know a JPEG that was saved on maximum compression but like who buys them who's buying this just [ __ ] printed at home like it maybe it was just a placeholder because they sold out I don't know they they all they have a bunch of these things anyway it's just a it confuses me like cuz hey like why would you put that up on the wall like I mean if you want to try and sell them like you know that's the best you can do if you want to try and and and you know sell them as a little bit of a a bit of a Shifty put them in a a display St somewhere and if someone finds them they can buy them but don't put them on the wall next to the the actual posters you know weird yeah overall great time recommend
it if you're in uh in the area Hartford ComicCon it's good yeah like I said nice city it's very pretty very old uh American city it's nice you guys want to talk about some uh some news real quick yeah we like news what news has been happening cuz I have not been reading any news while I've been away you should watch did you see this article the Pokemon go player oh man did I watched this video and it was I wasn't prepared for how intense this actually was I thought this was going to be some funny thing and it wasn't he I me what happened it's not it's not violent well I mean it is violent but you well I mean it is the guy is [ __ ] terrified it's a guy recording a twitch video and he gets mugged yeah so he's playing Pokemon go in Central Park which actually it's
funny well it's not funny but it's funny because uh when we were in New York the other week uh so Jenna said oh we need do you want to go check Central Park out now because we can't really go there at night and I was like oh was it dangerous well this is proof that it is so this guy yeah is walking through Central Park playing Pokémon go and he's got a a rig that he uses to walk around and stream so he's uh got his phone uh hooked up to like a GoPro or something and it's like strapped to Him Luke you know what I mean like so he's filming himself he looks like an idiot yeah so he's filming himself and he and he's he looks like an absolute Target for muggers that's what he looks like yeah look at all this money I have draped over me so he's streaming that live uh
through his phone and he's also got the phone screen it's pretty impressive setup actually um but you can see him walking along uh and then you can see someone kind of like steep in following him and then he stops to catch a Pokemon and this guy just [ __ ] runs up gets him in a choke hold like you see the whole thing and then you just see the guy [ __ ] throw him and then you don't you can't see this guy the the the the streamer anymore the camera is just pointed up and you see the mugger standing over him he like go give me the give me give me that [ __ ] phone get all this [ __ ] off here come on come on take off take it off take it off and the guy's like no please no oh God and then like and then you see like he obviously pulls the rig off him and then it's just
like [ __ ] Blair Witch style the camera like running and you can see the guy's legs the guy who's stolen it like it's still streaming yeah for a couple of minutes after and then cuz you can see the screen of the phone still streaming and all the chat on the on on Twitch is like holy [ __ ] like cuz they're all watching this live and he um and he pulls up the settings for the phone and hits the wipe the reset the phone button to wipe it and then it just cuts off it's [ __ ] intense and so the guy uh obviously called the cops uh and the police said they're pretty confident that they can find him if they find him because he's on the video uh but yeah there's no guarantees he's going to get his stuff back and his jaw apparently was pretty messed up from the from the attack but yeah man yeah I mean
the initial hit sounds hard like yeah when he's like tackled to the ground or whatever happens yeah yeah it looks like he grabs him like around the neck from behind and like throws him to the ground yeah like GH man but yeah so stay away from Central Park at night yes confirmed yeah but yes uh if you do want to stream perhaps you can use Snapchat's new invention that that Dan will not be letting into his house did you see it God damn right about that also I'll stop you there Snapchat have re-registered their business under the name snap yeah so expect an update at some point it takes away the chat yeah yeah I don't know if they're renaming the app they're
just starting to to create more stuff now so they what they've invented Luke is basically sunglasses that have camera in them so uh you can look I'm a little bit more okay with this than Google Glass because Google Glass was trying to look just like a pair of glasses unsuspecting pair of glasses that you could secretly film with these look like a big Goofy pair of picture glasses so they're still not allowed in my house but I'll at least be able to say those [ __ ] things [Laughter] off they're pretty cool they film uh you know POV videos so this will be really useful for porn I guess uh and they do this they call it 360 video where uh I don't know if you saw the demo where
they they film larger than you can actually see on the phone screen and as you TW you can turn the phone to change the aspect ratio and see more areas of the video and stuff it's pretty clever like it's a I don't know if I'm explaining that well there's a if you look on the article there's a link through to a um a Twitter post where someone put up a a you know a demo of it and as you rotate the phone the image stays on the same orientation but you the the the phone rotates and you can see the more of the image does that make sense am I making sense I think so I think so okay yeah yeah yeah it's pretty cool uh but also uh I don't know that I would use these that much but whatever people um they'd be fun for about two
minutes and then that that's it yeah because I use Snapchat barely use I mostly just use Snapchat to send you guys silly things and Di pics and well yeah obviously you were the only one who sent a dipic this week Luke actually I think his wife sent it yeah that's so instagram.com multipl nerdgasm what I do like about that snap was um that Luke knows as well as anyone else and Hannah obviously knows too that if you're going to send a cheeky nude um take the picture in front of a mirror because I like to see both sides yeah yeah I'll help it that's just common courtesy yeah now I got to ask there was a it seemed genuine look of surprise on your face uh oh that was staged oh was it
really so you knew this photo was being taken yes did you know it was being taken on Snapchat yes okay all right cool I told her to take the photo well good job cuz I I why I laughed a [Laughter] lot of course I saved it Dan of course I saved it yeah yeah now he was covered barely by a towel listeners like barely yeah it took a long time to arrange that just right I was actually out of dinner at the time and so uh Jordan and one of her friends also got to have a look so sorry
Luke okay oh dear VI games we got a little bit of VI games news um you know they changed the uh the the reviews on Steam to try and comat you can only review it if you have purchased a game through Steam yeah which makes sense cuz people were basically they were trading uh good reviews for copies of the game uh which is a kind of they did that on Amazon as well that's why I don't know cuz I I buy a lot of stuff for Kindle I think you do to Dan right oh yeah absolutely yeah so be aware uh it is apparently a thing now where people will give away copies of a book or whatever or I think just stuff in General on Amazon uh in exchange for a positive review so like you give a five star
review and then they'll give you the thing which is okay well if you're listening um I do have a Kindle and I am more than willing to trade freebies for reviews so hit me up that's basically why we invented this podcast was yeah free stuff y we will say nice things about you yeah so that they've changed that on Steam which I think is a is a good thing because it means uh you know the opinions on there are more valid I think it doesn't mean that you can't write a review on there he can stillie it's just it's not taken into account when it works out like if it's mostly good or mostly bad reviews yeah yeah so just kind of the only problem I have with it is uh and this is with the internet in general and and I think this
is probably why they do stuff like give away freebies in return for positive reviews and and that's people don't often review things if they're happy with it yeah so if I go out and I buy something could be anything right and I take it home and it works as advertised and I'm happy with it well that's that's the end of my transaction with that that you know retailer or or product but if if I bring it home and it's [ __ ] then I might go online and complain about it you know yeah so that's the only I'm less likely to do that but I'm very very likely to talk about going online and complaining about it right see I think that that that's probably why they they're doing these things to encourage people to really positive you know when and this annoys
me too but I can understand why is you know when you're using an app on your phone and it pops up and it says hey if you like the app please leave us a review and I'm generally I'm like no [ __ ] off but but I understand why they do it because otherwise only people who are annoyed will say anything you know uh this week a developer was banned from Steam uh completely I believe because they decided to sue customers over negative reviews with uh which valve said no [ __ ] off that's not on now is that because they promised them positive reviews in exchange for goods and services uh I think they just they just didn't like
the fact that they were leaving bad reviews so they uh yeah I don't think it was anything like that I think it was just they didn't want people leaving bad reviews and they thought was the best way to to convince people not to should we make a good game no let's just Su them Su them yeah yeah yeah that'll fix it nothing bad will come from that it says um I mean they they've come back and said to be to be fair they said we submitted numerous reports and sent multiple emails in regards to individuals making personal attacks harassment and more on not only us but on other steam customers who are actually interested in our products so uh they're saying that it was oh I can maybe understand that yeah so it maybe is a bit more complicated than um than
it seems but I mean I don't know if you can sue people for that and steam certainly don't want the I guess they probably just trying to distance themselves from it well no I think there needs to be something in place that you if you're abusing people directly making threats something should be in place for that yeah and may maybe they'll they'll take the only action they could this is one of those cases where see I'm uh I'm fairly Pro free speech uh I feel like uh I don't think you can tell people what they can and can't say you can argue with them uh and you can prove them wrong but you can't I don't think well I don't think you should be allowed to say you can't say certain things the people who are saying that aren't saying that they're online Persona which is
hidden behind their username is saying that okay that's an interesting perspective so they're not actually saying it but well like if they would had to have their actual name on there what they're saying would be very different that's true but also I mean I'm not sure that that you can sue someone or make that you know illegal or police that somehow you know like uh need a license to go on the Internet it's like on Twitter right there there are there are [ __ ] on Twitter but I mean you can't I mean I I don't think you should police them you just need to give people tools to you know if I don't want to be I don't if I don't want some idiot on Twitter calling me a [ __ ] well then yeah I'll block them you know so why you
[ __ ] blocked me yeah I'll block you again all right [ __ ] I'm GNA start so many fake profiles and [ __ ] Hound you no you what mean you commit suicide I don't like the the idea I don't like where it could go if we start saying people can and can't say certain things you know it's not a good pre you can say whatever you want except it just to be you that say because as D just said he can go online and make a ton of fake accounts and do it right whereas if it was just [ __ ] will if it was just dead having his account and he only got one chance at it well what he might say might be a little different right probably not he probably be calling you [ __ ] but well I agree with that you should own if you're going to say say it own it yeah so all right fine but then I mean people
do the same thing on Facebook like people people are racist or whatever my idea isn't based off one platform it's based on all platforms no no no I'm saying like e even when people are forced to to put their face on what they're saying and say this is me and I'm saying this uh they can still be [ __ ] yes all right I mean you're saying that's fine as long as they're not yeah they're not a little uh faceless yeah as long as yeah as long as it's them saying it okay say whatever you want but just don't claim freedom of speech if you're hiding the fact that you're saying it okay not Freedom that's okay that's an interesting angle that I had not considered Dan do you have an opinion on this I really just enjoying hearing you two
du it out to be honest oh it's not no no no I'm feeling myself no no no no I don't mean that in any kind of uh no I just this is intellectual debate and I'm enjoying it h who would guess that I would be involved in it no the the the an anonymity factor is an interesting point that I guess I don't always take into account it's interesting cuz I don't post stuff like that internet like I mean I wouldn't think to do this so I guess maybe I'm I'm sort of biased in that sense like if I'm on Twitter that's me on Twitter I don't create fake accounts like why would I do that so I guess maybe okay okay brain fed it's at brain fed thank you follow him now yeah do it and it's me and I only post [ __ ] that that I
think and which is not I don't actually post very often because you know but I think I think taking away the right to be anonymous is also problematic too don't you think because I think in there's certain situations where being anonymous may be your only option yes like if you're in say a country where you're not safe to say certain things because because they don't have the freedoms that we do yeah well see that's that that's a good point also uh so and I guess it like cuz who's going to police all this [ __ ] then if if like say say we're talking about Steam Reviews right uh your Steam account is presumably linked to your library so if you're on Steam posting offensive things
you know like they can you know punish you I guess who the [ __ ] was this yeah however like who's going to who's going to do that who's going to read through every comment every day or they have to let people report them or something like that but you're saying you should be you should have to use your real name on Steam is that what you're saying Luke yeah all right why not let's submit that idea you you should have to have you basically for every count that you sign up for you have a license that's your license go on internet so it's easy for you to be tracked down as to who you are death threat should be a thing of the past should just have they have a little ID number that they tattoo on their arm
I think that's what I think y yeah and a little some kind of symbol sewn onto their sleeve so that we can tell kind of what demographic they fit into yeah y well I'm glad we solved that problem yep all um on a lighter note apparently the NX the new Nintendo console uh is going to remove it's it's not competing with the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 no that's for sure uh so these are the vague facts that we've been we've been told of late uh and also it will change what it means to be either a Home console or mobile device so I'm assuming it's going to try and blur the line between those two things [ __ ] knows what that means um from what been saying for
months is it sort of going to be a handheld thing that you come home and then you plug it in when you get home right or does it cast like a kind of CH cast and all that [ __ ] yeah maybe I think so but actually like you put it into a dock and then you don't have to worry about setting it all up it just plugs in well but all that means is they're then yeah they're not competing with Xbox and Playstation they're competing with iPhone and Android and they might have already lost that as well so I don't know I think whatever they come out with it's going to have to be pretty good I don't know Nintendo keep saying they just need to bow out of the console start making games yeah they make great games uh honestly it's the the games have sold
the last two [ __ ] consoles like if you wanted to play Zelda you bought bought a Nintendo if you didn't care about Zelda you didn't buy one like no one's buying them reason why I don't have a Wii U they haven't relased I've never had any Nintendo yeah unless there's a specific game that you really want for like you know like for example Zelda like I I love those games and you know when the price comes down a bit I'll probably buy an NX so that I can play the the Zelda game that's on it but yeah I don't know well I mean this is all very vague on that note I'm going to have to go oh all right I need to pack and the shuttle bus gets here soon all right well I'm gonna bow out very well have
